The 50 best bars and drinks in Takamatsu

Sadly it seems melobar is no longer a craft ale bar. Of the 6 taps in the bar, only 2 had beer on, and they were both pilsners. Via Google translate we asked the bar man about the other 4, he said that it took too long to sell the beer if he put more than 2 or 3 taps on. There was a small selection of bottled beer z but even then the fridge was half empty. At 8.30pm we were the only customers. I came here before about 3 years ago, it's nothing like it used to be.

There was an excellent range of fairly-priced craft beers on tap. The Bar man was great, really attentive and personable. Can’t recommend the bar enough.

A disappointing pub experience compared to The Craic in Tokyo. It should almost be called “The Hoarder” as there was clutter everywhere: beer kegs, cans, bins, bottles, nicknacks, etc. stacked around with very little standing room. In fact two of us could only crowd around one side of a table. The empty backroom with a baseball game playing on a TV was off limits unless you were a “kid” or ordering food, which wasn’t even obvious they sold. Oddly, they have a table charge of 500 yen per person, which includes a small snack item. And beers start at 1,500 yen a pint. +100 yen for an extra large glass. Aside from the baseball game the only entertainment was watching a bored Uber Eats driver waiting patiently for the sole manager/owner to throw together take-out orders. Overall, the space felt dingy and unkempt and the drinks overpriced.

Doubled price of Guinness from advertised website. Wanted extra money to sit or stand.
