This place is the best cocktail bar I have ever been to and I have been to a couple around the world. Amazing staff and INCREDIBLE drinks. The staff here is all amazing and so kind. We came here two nights we loved it so much. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Stellar experience and definite recommendation for all drinks/cocktail lovers. Besides the amazing cocktails and unique combinations, I appreciated so much how the team made sure to take care of me because I am currently pregnant. After I mentioned that I only go for 0,0% alcohol options, they were a 100% understanding, created a special drink for me (which was amazing), double-checking that it suited my needs. Many other bars/restaurants unfortunately don‘t really care, I was so glad to make a different experience here. Will definitely come back!

Nice, cozy bar with real cocktail geeks behind the counter. Creative drinks, well balanced, and some good tramezzini on the side. Definitely worth a visit if you're serious about cocktails.

A wonderful spot with real character and atmosphere! The cocktail menu is creative and full of surprises: you can tell it’s made with passion. We especially loved the Ash & Nuts and Cucumber and Fake Rose, both unique and beautifully balanced. Huge thanks to Raul, who was incredibly kind, attentive and explained everything perfectly.

Can not suggest a better cocktail bar in Venice than this one. We seated outdoor by choice. It was a good vibe. The staff kept us informed of how busy Saturday night could be. And made excellent suggestion for cocktails to our liking. Would recommend for a drink or more.

Great place to get a really nice drink and hide away from the crowds. The cocktail ingredients were so fresh and it was exactly what I needed. I did have to battle a pigeon (he did get away with a few hazelnuts from another table) but it is to be expected in this city. Also, this is mostly a bar with a few snacks, not the place to go if you are starving!

Located on the Grand Canal in the Gritti Palace Hotel, this bar is a great place to relax and enjoy the views before dinner or after a day of touring. The drinks are expensive but well worth the price as the service and views are top notch. Plus the bar snacks brought to the table compliment the beverages well. The occasional surprise canapes were delicious and welcomed.

The view is beautiful but the drinks are extremely expensive and godawful. This place served me the worst old fashioned I have ever had, and it cost like $30. It's bourbon and sugar, how do you mess that up? We actually felt sick the next day. Aviation cocktail wasn't much better. There are much better bars with a view, skip this place.

Wine, Cicchetti, and Atmosphere to Savour - Right on the canal, this spot serves a great range of excellent-value wines by the glass. The cicchetti were a fantastic bonus for us (see photos): tuna with horseradish, lardo with honey and chocolate, smoked salmon with mascarpone. My late mother would have loved it here — sipping her wine, soaking up the atmosphere, and quietly working out the relationships of the folks around her. They are all clear about what is not on offer.

Whao, Whao, Whao! I’d seen this on “Somebody feed Phil” and was keen to try it whilst I was in Venice. Believe me - for lunch this is perfect. It’s a bit off the beaten track and if you go around lunch time be prepared to wait, but the wait’s so worth it. They serve cicchetti, little tapas like bites but don’t let any Venetian hear you call them tapas! They serve every mixture you can imagine. Lots of fish and cheeses involved. My personal favourite was the Gorgonzola and pear. Great for a lunch. We had 9 with water for about €17 I could have had a glass of wine for €1.50. Traditional Venetian fare that’s worth seeking out. If like like food you’ll love here.

An excellent choice for cicchetti! I came at lunchtime and had 8 cicchetti (including tuna with cacao, which was delicious) and a glass of wine. There are no seats to sit down, but there is plenty of space to stand and have your cicchetti and wine (or coffee, if you prefer). Very reasonably priced.

Delicious fish sandwiches, I fell in love🤤. There are very big choice of sandwiches - not only with fish. Prices are really good (1.6 eur for sandwich (24.09.25). Staff are pleasant and helpful, they know English. I'm glad that I found this place. Venice is outstanding!

Cicchetti was good but this place gets crazy busy. Honestly crazy trying to order here. If you speak Italian you probably have a significantly easier time but if you are a tourist - this can interesting to navigate.

My family was catching their breath so I decided to wander around Venice and upon Vino Vero and loved it! Unassuming wine bar with a great vibe. Seemed to be a mix of tourists and locals enjoying happy hour. Everyone gathered out front, on the bridge over the canal, even on boats. And it's an area with plenty of great restaurants.

A perfect little wine bar 🍷 with an original selection — from several crisp dry whites to cider and vermouth. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with people sitting by the canal or even on their boats. What we loved most is that it’s far from the city rush, so it never feels overcrowded. A relaxed hidden gem where you can slow down and enjoy the evening 🌙

Visiting Venice, this is definitely a recommendation. After walking for a long time we settled down at Vino Vero which offered a great combination of delightful small bites and amazing wines. The staff was very kind and knew a lot about the wines, which they let us taste beforehand. If going to Venice you must visit Vino Vero for the complete Venetian experience.

wandering through the northern side of the city quiet, charming, and surprisingly tourist-free. My friend had one mission: a wine shop she just had to visit (she knows her wine). Me? I was just the hungry sidekick tagging along… because if there’s food, I’m there. And honestly? Totally worth the walk. She was pointing at bottles left and right, thrilled at her finds I’ll need to ask her for the actual reviews because I was too distracted. Why? Because CICHETTI. For 3 euros each! 🫠 I definitely over-ordered… guilty as charged. But do I regret it? Not at all. Every bite was worth it. . Good taste in music playing in the background, Indie, Alternative Rock… and yes, “Everlong” by Foo Fighters. Perfection. And here’s the thing, if you ask the barista what’s best, they’ll just smirk and say, “everything.” And you know what? Believe them. If you can, just order them all. Highly recommend.

The variety of Cicchetti is awesome and the different mix of flavors is unique. The staff is friendly and nothing beats the peace of having a cup of wine on the canal directly.. must visit for a drink abd cicchetti if in Venice 👩‍❤️‍👨

I went to Vino Vero several times two years ago and once again this past September. In my experience, two years ago it was a better spot. The cicchetti tasted better and the wines by the glass were more reasonably priced. It is still a lively hang out and I met some fun new people, but it is not the same for me.

We finally got to visit the iconic Harry’s Bar. It had a rough beginning as the maître d’ was rude and snooty. The food was remarkable. The service started out well but quickly faded. Harry’s is over-the-top expensive. $30US for a tiny, watery Bloody Mary. $25US for an itsy bitsy Bellini. We enjoyed our expertly prepared meals. But never again.

The iconic Harry's bar is a great little bar. We booked our reservation as we were a group of 8. I think it's a good idea to book ahead as it fills up quickly. Be mindful there is a dress code, no shorts for men. Nice Jeans are ok. Their famous Bellini is really good! And the food was delicious 😋. We enjoyed the veal chop and ravioli, it truly one of the best we've had! A little pricey but you have to enjoy it once. We were here on October 2025 and with drinks and the 10 euro cover charge it came to about 200 euro per couple. Staff is very friendly and helpful. A large selection of wines and cocktails. Enjoy! We did!

An institution in Venice. I came here for an Aperitivo and had the renowned Bellini (22 euros) and a coffee (5 euros). It is a rather small bar, so you may not be lucky to get seated. Also, there is a dress code in the evening - shorts are not allowed.

Harry’s Bar in Venice has a nice atmosphere and a classic charm, but overall, it’s nothing extraordinary. The food was okay — tasty but served in rather small portions, and the prices are definitely on the higher side for what you get. The staff, however, were very friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the place was great. It’s worth visiting once for the experience, but I wouldn’t call it a must-try spot in Venice.

This is a restaurant that’s very traditional and upscale and holds a lot of history but you need to be aware that this does come with a price. We were warmly greeted and asked if we preferred upstairs or downstairs, we chose up as it seemed crowded downstairs. We were walked past the bar and the kitchen and were invited to walk up some spiral stairs while the hostess took a different speeder route where she then met us at the top. After being seated in a room full of New York images and natural light from outside we were given menus but before we could order we were asked if we wanted a Bellini. Due to its history it was obvious that’s the main go to. Ultimately we ordered 4 Bellini’s (they are really small) two club sandwiches and water for the table, this order cost €182 The Bellini’s are very good but expensive for the size €22 each. The sandwich was fine but nothing amazing. Ultimately however If you are interested in a bit of history then I would recommend if your budget stretches to it but I wouldn’t say it was a must do in the city and you can fine good Bellini’s and better food else where for a more affordable price.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting a craft beer bar in Venice but was very happy to find out there is actually one. Il Santo Bevitore offers good selection, the best selection of beers in Venice, the atmosphere is of a typical pub and the service is very friendly. We got really drunk there 🤗

Fantastic pub in a beautiful, quieter area of Venice. Service was excellent; bartender provided information on the beers and suggested some of his favorites. They have a large selection of Italian and European drafts, plus liquor and snacks. Excellent outdoor seating area beside a canal.

Nice selection of beers and friendly bartender. Some of the local beers werent the most interesting but we ordered a Belgian ale and AC IPA which was very nice. In retrospect we should have sat outside since it was a bit noisy in the bar.

Are you joking, seriously, I've been to many good boozers but how is it an Italian bar in Venice tops the list. 24 pumps, a fridge, full complement of spirits, cicchetti, low level blues, beautiful view, not too busy (when I'm here at least) it's perfect. And I don't say this lightly, perfect.

Sometimes you just want a great beer. Not a glass of good wine or a delicious Spritz, but a good, reliable but new, beer. This is the type of place to go for that. They have many local beers on tap, but also some reliable German ones.

This was a magical afternoon thanks to Skyline Rooftop Bar! We walked in and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Venice!! Jahid made our experience one of a kind with amazing and fast service. Even teaching us some Italian lingo. Can’t wait to be back! 10/10 recommend!!

Nice rooftop bar, the main section has a great view over the city of Venice and the back part has a direct view of the sunset. The section overlooking the city has 10 tables next to the edge and can be in demand as you would expect. Staff were warm and welcoming upon arrival l. Drinks are well mixed and taste good, a little on the pricey side compared to places on the main island but to be expected for the view you get. We went for three drinks from the signature cocktail list, Sernissima Glow, Blushing Dawn and Crimson Flame. All three drinks were €23 each and came with a little snack of popcorn for the table. I would recommend this bar especially around twilight time just before sunset so you can see the sun falling over the city. Thing to note would be that if you’re visiting this bar and are not a guest at the hotel you will need to get a boat to the island. This is not so much an issue during the day as the hotel has a stop right next to the reception door and boats are quite frequent on the Alilaguna line which we caught from the Zattere stop across the way and took a couple of minutes however we noticed that once it went dark this was not the case. We spoke to a couple outside and they said they had been waiting over an hour to go across near Zattere. We decided to go to Giudecca Palanca public line stop which is a 10 minute walk but we were able to jump straight on the number 2 line boat that took us across to Zaccaria stop near St. Marks Square. Just something to be aware of if you go, check the public transport timetables.

Came here for a birthday, all the staff were so friendly and attentive. They gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco, and the Aperols were also really good. They gave us a choice of sitting facing the sunset or the city, we went for the sunset view. Would defo recommend!

The Sky Bar at the Hilton Molino Stucky is a beautiful spot with one of the best views of Venice. The hotel itself is elegant and thoughtfully decorated, and while it’s a bit out of the way from the main island, it’s a lovely option for guests staying at the hotel or anyone looking for a different vantage point of the city. The view from the terrace is incredible, offering a sweeping look across the water toward the main island. The staff were attentive, friendly, and eager to make sure every drink was exactly how we wanted it. The cocktails were well crafted and beautifully presented. That said, the prices are definitely on the high side, even for a hotel bar. We each had only one drink, and it felt a bit steep for what it was. Still, if you don’t mind paying a premium for the setting, the view alone makes it worth visiting at least once for a sunset drink.

We came for a drink after dinner and were so pleasantly surprised, this rooftop bar has an incredible view over Venice and amazing cocktails. I loved the 1530 sky, a super refreshing tequila and grapefruit drink. I love a good Paloma but this drink took the cake, it was on another level. It does have egg white, but the bar also offers a vegan alternative. This was the best cocktail I had in Venice. Come to find out, it’s the bars custom drink. Worth the trip to the island for the vibes and laid back atmosphere, we didn’t have to wait or fight to get in compared to the high tourism traffic in san Marco. A hidden gem that I recommend way more than Harry’s Bellini (which did not compare despite the hype). Thanks for a great night and wonderful time.

At the side of the canal with a nice view and a small park just in front. My favorite stop for far for local food and great drinks. Good value for the money! For €10 you will have two o three small local bocadillos and a lovely well prepare aperol spritz Usually has a queue but deserve the time

Great little spot for a drink. Lots of locals come here as well as visitors/ tourists. This bar is located right across from a gondola repair shop. We came on a Sunday so it was closed but if you come during the week during the season there's always work being done on some gondolas and it's supposed to be a really neat thing to see.

Great spot to grab a drink and/or panini. The service was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating even though I don’t speak Italian! I was served a delicious “original” Spritz - not Aperol! The bartender recommend I try what she called the “original” (I forget if she gave it another name, sorry!). Very refreshing and a lovely view while enjoying your drink & quick bite. (Also they have a clean restroom for customers.)

Delicious cicchetti and an excellent Aperol Spritz. It’s often busy inside, but you can sit outside on the steps. When you take your food outside, they’ll warn you to watch out for seagulls – which really amused me. It’s not an empty warning; they truly lurk around, ready to snatch your meal if they get the chance. The food was excellent in taste and perfect for a light lunch or snack. As a bonus, there’s a lovely view of the boatyard. Highly recommended for a quick, tasty stop.

Very good. Simple, effective flavours, no fuss yet delicious. Not too pricey too, and mostly locals The tuna with caramelised onions in particular was well liked by the both of us So good we immediately went back to get the tuna again, and the salted cod Salted cod was mild and creamy

Delicious food!! Long line but it moves quite fast and the service is super friendly. It was quite hot inside so I recommend taking your food to the park across the canal.

Our first night in Venice was perfect, post dinner we attended the Jazz Club and got lost in the music, all performers were OUTSTANDING! A man from Los Angeles called Sal (the saxophonist) was able to spontaneously play with the band, no practice, they all connected through one thing they had in common…jazz. It was surreal to witness musicians connect over music and be able to all play together having not done so before. Federico, the owner and pianist, gave us a warm welcoming and was attentive to every guest before, during, and after. The €25 is the ideal price, I'd have paid more! (a drink is also included) If you’re in Venice, and like live music, I’d highly recommend, wherever your friends, a couple, a family, or even travelling solo, go to Venice Jazz Club!🥁🎹🎸🎷🎶

It was 25euro per person for tickets and we made a reservation in advance. I typically go to Jazz clubs whenever I travel and this one had a really amazing pianist! The owner which is also the man that takes the orders before the performance, the pianist for the performance and clears some of the cups/tables during the short break is humorous and very talented. It honestly felt like he was one with the piano! Enjoyed my time there and appreciated the on the fly integration of under the sea for the last piece of the night! Would also recommend inviting a singer on board as well but still a great performance regardless!

A hidden gem! We had an excellent time with such great talent and a wonderful intimate atmosphere. What I assumed to be the owner was the one who greeted us and was the piano/keyboard player. The drinks were generous, the vibes emasculate, the meat and cheese platter delicious, and a great time was had by all!

Amazing. Bravo. Phenomenal. We cannot wait to come back! Reserved 2 tickets online and then paid at the jazz bar upon closing out. We arrived extra early just to get situated and were seated right at the front. We had already eaten dinner beforehand but did split the small meat and cheese board and it was delicious. We split a bottle of prosecco and still water. Only downside is that they don’t serve espresso so make sure to get your caffeine beforehand. They do close the front doors right at showtime so make sure you get here early. The musicians are outstanding and so energetic. It was such an amazing evening at the Venice jazz club and I cannot recommend coming here enough! We’ve been to jazz clubs all over the states (including NYC) and nothing compares to the experience here. Thank you for a wonderful evening! We cannot wait to come back when we are in Venice again.

A absolut pearl! Had no reservations came 1 hour before show was told it was sould out! Asked to wait and get back 10min before show and somehow owener and pianist(trombonist 😅) had fixed a side table! Show was amazing 👏 and I feel we have a long lasting bound! First night in Venice and came across this jazz club. We went to the one in Florence earlier this week but this one far exceeds it. Really great atmosphere! I definitely recommend a reservation. We booked online, ate dinner first, then came here at 8:15. Front row seats! Owner is so kind and humble… serving the tables but also the pianist! Great evening to start our Venice vacation.

Amazing place. Federico is not only a wonderful host, he's a top class pianist too. Any jazz fan should not miss this during a venice trip. Easy to book a week before online.

Nice atmosphere but not extraordinary (as we expected). The food was definitely not worth the price (from a taste point of view). The one thing we both enjoyed and was really good (as taste & presentation), was the tiramisu (dessert). Furthermore the service was slow (although very kind and smiling). We kind of got tired of waiting for them getting the empty plates, etc. The bread selection (&olive oil) was very abundant though. We were getting new without ever asking for it. In sum we paid a bit less than 400 euros but had far better and tastier dinner at other places with 100- 200.

A wonderful dining experience at Restaurant Terrazza Danieli. My partner and I dined at this lovely restaurant during our week in Venice. We had a leisurely dinner which took about 2.5hrs from start to finish. Every staff member was extremely attentive and informative. The restaurant itself has spectacular views any time of day. But we preferred our evening setting with the lights of the city below. The food itself is exceptional. The red prawn appetizer was delectable. However the stars of the evening were the scallops and the pastas. Truly crave-able and delicious. We are usually light eaters but availed ourselves of all the restaurant had to offer. We will visit every time we are back in Venice.

Fabulous views over the Grand Canal. The service was good, they have an excellent sommelier. We intended to have the tasting menu but we didn't like the choices so chose from the a la carte. The food was beautifully presented but the desserts didn't taste as good as they looked. With a bottle of wine and one round of drinks our bill for 4 people was 785 euros. I recommend it for a special occasion.

The main appeal of La Danielle is its location — no doubt one of the best views of the Grand Canal in Venice. Unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. The terrace has plants that attract wasps, and we ended up eating surrounded by them the entire time. It was so unpleasant that we skipped dessert and coffee just to leave earlier. As for the food, it was fine but nothing remarkable, especially considering the inflated prices (which can partly be expected in Venice, but still felt excessive for the quality). Overall, the view might justify the stop for some, but I can easily understand why others would prefer to spend the same amount elsewhere for a better meal and a more comfortable

The most exceptional and technically executed meal I have experienced in Venice. The Veal medallion had many layers of surprise to it. Phenomenal meal. A special thanks to Fab who took excellent care of me.

Highlight of our trip We were thoroughly impressed with our dinner experience last night. From the moment we arrived, everything exuded elegance—from the ambiance to the attentive staff. Each dish was delightfully presented, showcasing both creativity and precision, and the flavours were just as exquisite as the plating. We had the red prawn carpaccio with crème frâiche, caviar which was exceptional. Squid ink ravioli with scorpionfish as well as the chanterelle with goats cheese risotto. Although the outside terrace was closed due to the weather, the team went above and beyond to ensure our evening was nothing short of extraordinary. The service was warm, seamless, and genuinely thoughtful. It’s rare to find a place where every detail is so carefully considered. We’ll absolutely be returning.

Beware of the seagulls here! What should have been the most amazing final night in Venice was unfortunately a let down for us. After seeing seagulls swoop down on 2 others tables and take their bread, my partner was the unfortunate victim of one seagull defecating on him - this place needs a falcon or parasols - or both. The staff really let themselves down here. They never once asked us if we were OK or offered to clean or move our table, and when you're spend €550 on a meal for two, I expect better. A lovely american girl had a Tide pen in her purse which she generously offered and we were very grateful for. The location, views and food were beautiful, however this venue needs to take some tips from the nearby St Regis who have a falcon to keep the local seagull pests in check.

This place was recommended to me by a Venezian friend. Apparently, it’s very well-known and well-liked among the locals. We came here for a light lunch. I had a selection of cicchetti, along with a glass of wine. There is a very good selection of wines and their prices are more than reasonable. They also serve sandwiches. There are very few stools (both inside and outside) but we were lucky to find a place to sit and enjoy our lunch. We paid 20 euros per person.

The place is small, quant and humble. If I owned this place I would put a board out advertising “oldest wine bar in Venice”. But they don’t. They serve their delicious bites of food and reasonably priced and well selected wine in this absolutely charming place. Be warned though large bunches of food tours will visit, sample and move through while you’re there.

I visited Cantina Do Mori last week and received excellent service and really liked the space. The wine selection was good, but the cicchetti were a bit hit or miss.

Well…this review is hard. The place, the history, the atmosphere is 5 stars or more! Now the food it is actually less than 4. We arrived at 14:15, not that off from lunch time. They serve us cold everything, even the meat balls. The cheese was great, but the rest, honestly not very impressed. And we were five, this is not only my opinion. The wine was very good, red and wine, both. The server was efficient and quick, maybe not the friendliest, but again, considering the place and being only one running the whole shop it makes sense.

I had the experience of tasting cicchetti in other places in Venice, but this one was not as good as what we had in other places. Although there were some tastes that we didn't find in other places, but still the bread was not as fresh and crispy as it could be. We also ordered meat ball and Botchetta radicchio which both were so delicious.

This is a lovely little bar located by the canal. We came here on an Italian Bank Holiday and it was packed with locals and tourists enjoying a drink. We had the Aperol Spirts and sat by the canal on a pleasant evening, and they were reasonably priced.

Very lovely place to try a few appetizers on your first night. Scenery was nice, appetizers were great and drinks even better. Staff was very friendly. Be wary of the seagulls. They don’t mess around.

Stepping in to Osreria Ai Pugni makes you feel like a cool kid. Hip, intimate and full of locals, this is one of my most favorite memories of Venice. We went for wine and cicchetti before dinner. Wine list is thoughtful and beyond affordable. $5 dollar glasses that you know were selected with care. The bartender was incredibly helpful she helped me pick out the perfect glass. I highly recommend the mozzarella pizzaiola. It’s fried cheese stuffed with tomato confit that isn’t greasy at all. As an American who loves cheese sticks I was blown away. Our other cicchetti selections were also fresh and delicious. Wish we could have snagged a table by the canal but they were all occupied. We hung out at the little bar by the window and watched people hang out or walk by. We tried going back our second night in Venice but they were closed, hopefully for vacation because the Wine Goddesses of Osteria Ai Pugni deserve it. Grazie Millie.

Excellent food and drinks but what really stood out was the superior service. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Definitely check this place out!

Stopped off here for a light lunch as saw it recommended on YouTube, worth taking the break to stop off here, all theses little rolls are excellent, also had a small salmon thing with black mozzarella, you can also have a front row seat looking at the Ponte Dei Pugni, bridge known for first fights in past and also used as a filming location in Indiana Jones

If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience this is perfect. It will be full of locals and the food is amazing. Menu changes daily written on paper. Options will run out over the day so get there early. Lovely staff. Tasty food. And very reasonably priced. My favourite spot in Venice.

We spent almost all our mornings at AI Prosecco during our stay and it is just the best place, to enjoy some sandwiches and drinks. The waiters are very warm and friendly and we’ll definitely come back next year.

Just had a fantastic lunch here at Al Prosecco. The Panini were delicious, the Aperol Spritz was one of the best I've had in Venice and the service was fantastic. It's in the corner of a beautiful Campo and the view is stellar, including the church, a community garden and a large, well kept Campo. Prices are a bit high but it is well worth the trip.

Set in a courtyard. In one of the many palazzo's in Venezia. Service 2nd to none. It's always nice when the entire staff helps out & not just one individual. Started with a gl of prosecco. Then a gl of Montepulcino rosso with a formaggio plate. La dolce vita.

Food is fine but not cooked carefully… The meatballs were almost raw (see picture) and the rice of the risotto was very hard. It’s a shame beat cause the taste was good. Waitress was friendly but the service was very expeditive, felt like they wanted us to eat fast and leave fast. Overall I was disappointed.

We went into this restaurant for lunch as it had a good selection of fish dishes. I was very pleased to see they had some local Italian wine to choose from on the menu. The first staff member that served us was very friendly and helpful. Towards the end of the meal another member of staff took our food away and when they came to bring the coffee they slammed it onto the table. It was surprising as we were a mixed Italian / English group and had spoken Italian throughout the meal. The fish was tasty and the texture of the calamari was delicious. Although there were a lot of people here for the cicchetti, the food here was absolutely delicious and was the best meal I had in Italy! The seafood was so fresh and delicious. I didn’t have a reservation for lunch but went around 12:30pm and was able to get seated. Highly recommend the mussel stew which I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of. The squid ink pasta and fried calamari dishes were divine. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Food was great - ordered the spaghetti Alla busara and Frittura mista which came promptly, and tasted fresh. We also ordered a risotto at the beginning which never arrived and when we asked after half an hour, we were told bluntly (without checking with the kitchen) "it's coming". When it hadn't arrived after over an hour and two other tables near us who arrived after our first two dishes came out, already received and finishes theirs, we cancelled the order only to find out it was never placed. The staff were apologetic but we found the overall experience frustrating.

Came to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The view was magnificent and I loved hearing the ocean lapping and smashing against the jetty. Our waitress was up to standard. However, the food was a let down. My husband had swordfish with gnocchi and found it to be acceptable. My beef fillet was served well done and not medium rare as ordered....to the point where it was almost like liver. We opted to have dessert elsewhere.

Ombra del Leone is a restaurant that seems promising at first, but after waiting an hour for the food, they bring out the main course before the appetizers. The food is poorly prepared or overly seasoned. With so many restaurant options in Venice, I recommend choosing somewhere else and not wasting your time here.

Hidden Terrace. I saw in another review. Great description. Was very fortunate to hang out here for the Regatta Storica. Great seat to sit and watch the parade and the races as they fly by but also just as great to sit on the grand canal and enjoy the gondolieri who loiter nearby as they pass time in between fares. Prices are fare or even at a value relative to many locations on the main thoroughfare. Service is nice if you’re not expecting the world. Perhaps they are on island time. Which is great. IMHO.

After taking all the sights the main island of Venice has to offer I decided to find a place with a good rating, that would both be not over the top expensive, offer quality food and be off the main road. Ombra del Leone ticks all the boxes! Even with small groups of people going back and forth (noon time) it blended nicely with the sound of the tide and a peaceful view with gondolas smoothly flouting on the water. The kitchen was to be open at noon, so I had time for a glass of Chardonnay and I enjoyed every bit of it and the risotto which came after. So if you are looking for the same things I was then this is the place to go. However it feels the place might be much more busy during the second part of the day, keep in mind.

I made a dinner reservation two months ahead of time and the restaurant confirmed the reservation. When my husband and I arrived, we were told they were closing in a hour for a private party. They never took the time to let me know ahead of time so I could secure another reservation. This was unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Then to just turn us away without even offering us a complimentary drink was even worse. All they said was I’m sorry but we will be closed. Perfect spot to enjoy our first night back in Venezia! We were looking for somewhere to get a great meal with a truly Venetian view and this was it. Of course you expect that you'll pay a little more being right off the Grand Canal, but from the delicious food (it was too dark to take pictures), the friendly service, and the location, the prices really weren't that unreasonable. I'm sure the area may be usually more busy, but it felt very quiet and somewhat off the beaten path despite the fact that it's in such a prominent spot. Definitely recommended for a special meal - you'll enjoy it for sure!

Away of the crowds. A bit noisy with the grand canal slamming against the patio edge repeatedly but you get used to it. No one to welcome you. We had our hotel make our reservations since they told this American over the phone “all booked”. The waitress was quite nice, spoke good English and helped me along. Only one beer, which seems to be the case in Italy. Who drinks beer? Not Italians! The gnocchi with scampi was excellent. Like little pillows with the best “shrimp” I’ve ever tasted. Lasagna was good too. Bread came dry with no olive oil or salt/pepper. The waitress pleasantly brought us some when we asked. Panne cotta was nice, not overly sweet. Two people, eating light, 74 euro. Nothing is cheap here. Nothing. Except the mosquitoes, plenty of free mosquitos.

If you’re not looking for it, you’ll probably walk right by this tiny restaurant. The faded sign is barely visible. There’s no menu outside, no one out front trying to lure you in. But if you do walk by, you’ll miss out on some of the best food in Venice. There isn’t a printed menu—just a chalkboard with the day’s offerings. Our waiter actually sat down with us to explain it all and help us choose. The house wine was excellent. My wife and I shared an order of Frittura di Pesce Verde—basically very lightly fried fish (calamari, clams, cod) and vegetables. Huge portions, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious. My wife had Tortelli con pomodoro, burrata e pesto—huge ravioli stuffed with burrata in a rich tomato and pesto sauce. She loved it. I had the Linguine alle vongole (littleneck clams)—cooked perfectly al dente, with more clams than you could possibly eat. I highly recommend you find this place. It’s awesome.

We went here while in Venice for one night. We had an amazing wine tasting and food. The wines were delicious and the man that helped us was very knowledgeable and kind. Our server was lovely as well! This was the perfect cozy place to stay dry during the thunderstorm. We were so impressed with the wine that we shipped 6 bottles back to the US to share with our families. We had the super red flight and local red flight. We had the carbonara and cache de Pepe with a complementary dessert shot. We love places that are off the beaten path and we stopped by their wine shop around the corner to get a bottle to enjoy later at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to travelers looking for good wine, food and service!

Really nice spot for wine and snacks. They have an extensive menu, but we only had some small bites. The service was very kind and attentive. If us in a side street, which was great because of feels ticked away from the crowds. They gave many tables both inside and outside. Wine selection is very good and the prices were reasonable given the location.

I had a wonderful wine tasting experience here. The gentleman who took my order was very knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered a delicious cheese and charcuterie dish and for the tasting I chose the "From White to Red" option. The place wasn't very busy when I went, as it was right when they opened. I hope they normally have more people in there as it was lovely. There were a few older Italian women making the cicchetti which was so cute. I knew then that the food here would be delicious. I highly recommend you stop here for a tasting and bite to eat!

Well, after a fair few glasses of wine, I'm likely to wax lyrical about this restaurant, but by God they deserve it. After two weeks travelling through Italy, South to North, and some really "good" food, I feel like we truly discovered "great". Osteria Bancogiro was just wonderful. The setting next to the canal, the friendly and welcoming service, and the food...! We decided to have the grilled octopus as a starter. Southern Italy eat your heart out. It was amazing. Then the veal and the lamb. Utterly sublime. We couldn't have asked for a better first evening meal in Venice, with more welcoming and friendly staff. Go there if you can. You'll thank me!

It’s a little expensive, but it’s really worth it. I went with two other people and I had the lamb and it was good. My friend had the steak which I had a piece of, and it was delicious as well. The presentation of the food was well worth it too as each plate looked amazing. I would definitely come back here and I extremely recommend it.

The restaurant is right next to the canal. Stunning view during the sunset. We ordered several dishes, they were all good, especially the shrimp for starter and the fish for main. Tiramisu was the best one I had during this trip

Its decent, but to be honest extremely overpriced. You can find way better places at less posh places, but we know that when we come to this kind of tourist 'wannabe' restaurants its what you get. Wine was supposed to be really good, but was nothing special either. Dishes are a bit small. The black tagliatelle were too salty, and who ordered them had stomach ache afterwards. The carbonara was slightly undercooked (and I understand what al dente is), making the dish not as good unfortunately.

A Hidden Gem in Venice! Where to begin…this intimate restaurant (just 10 tables!) was the highlight of our trip to Venice. A reservation is a must, and absolutely worth it. The service was exceptional: warm, attentive, and detail-oriented. We shared the beef tartare, ricotta ravioli, and the catch of the day—each dish was delicious, with the fish being the standout. Don’t skip dessert: the tiramisu was the best we had in Italy, and the wild strawberry sorbet was perfectly refreshing. Reasonably priced for such a high-quality experience. 100% recommend!

I had the pleasure of celebrating my wife’s birthday at an amazing restaurant recommended by our foot tour guide in Venice. It turned out to be a fantastic choice—the food was absolutely incredible. I struggle to understand why so many people keep giving this restaurant 5 stars, we expected much more for the price we paid. Seven raviolis for 22€, three strips of duck breast for 30€, 2 glasses of wine and a Tiramisu (which was very good) - we left hungrier than when we came. Food quality is there, but quantities are disappointing. Waiters kept asking us if we wanted more food or drinks, making us feel uncomfortable for saying no.

This restaurant was a true pleasure to dine in. It started with such a warm welcome and every course seemed like it was a gift from the chef to us. The pasta was so perfect that I was lost in all the delicate flavors in my mouth. The fish was cooked to perfection with all its flavors locked into one perfect fillet on a plate. To top everything the ambience was so homely and the service was exceptional. This place may be a small restaurant but some good things in life come in little packages. I would certainly recommend this restaurant as a must visit while in Venice

Went there with my family. Made a reservation due to the online reviews we saw saying it was a ‘must have’ but i think the reviews made my expectations way too high. The menu has very few options (which i don’t consider a bad thing) but from the different combinations of flavors described on the menu I was expecting more of an explosion of flavors, and at least the entree and my main dish were quite bland. My family had the same impression as me from their dishes. The tiramisu we had for dessert was good (texture wise) but a little too strong (or too much) coffee. The final drink (digestive liquor, on the house) was the highlight , instead of the common limoncello they offered us a liquor made by their own production and made of artichokes, which impressively was quite tasty!

Had very high expectation for our first Venetian cuisine but didn't turn out so well. The service was splendid, but food-wise... perhaps I've not yet learned how to appreciate traditional Venetian food, since there were clearly lots of locals. Seafood a lil bit too "fishy"(maybe cuz they're from the lagoon?), steak a lil bit too chewy ......

I would give 10 stars if I could! 🌟 The atmosphere and the food were amazing. This place is popular for a reason, so having a reservation is recommended. We found it spontaneously and still managed to get a table inside. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and the food took us to the heaven and back! It was by far the most delicious food we tried in Venice. The mixed starter was so good and then they topped it for me with a simple pasta with tomato sauce. I say simple, but it was absolutely delicious! If you can make something so simple taste so delicious, you definitely know what you are doing. 🍝 My husband has ravioli with fish and was also super impressed. La Palanca, Giudecca, sits by its namesake vaporetto stop with views across the canal. A daytime trattoria and evening cicchetti bar, it’s beloved by locals for its straightforward cooking and fair prices, though it’s had its share of international press. I settled under the wooden beams for a final fish lunch and trusted the barman’s choice: grilled tuna, crusted in toasted sesame and drizzled with balsamic. Nutty, savoury, sharp-sweet – simple, deftly timed, and perfectly judged. Light, unfussy Venetian cooking at its best, with views to match. 8.5/10.

There is something so special about La Palanca. Beyond the incredible food, it’s the genuine service and the ambiance, where tourists and locals rejoice, that makes it a true treasure. We’ve been in Venice for 3 days and after seeking more central (near San Marco) / mainstream options on all the “where to go lists” - it was La Palanca that stood out above the rest. They were also incredibly attentive to allergies / intolerances, which goes a long way. 10/10 would recommend for the friendly service, location, and fantastic food.

We came here as we heard that this was a great place to have lunch. It will require you to take the vaporetto from the main island over, but the trip is completely worth it as you can dine waterside with Venice in view. Of note, sometimes waves will breach the side of the walkway. The restaurant has set up wooden boards as well as elevated crates beneath some tables to prevent your shoes from getting wet. This is not a big issue, and in fact we had a good laugh when it happened to us. THE FOOD HERE IS STELLAR. Both my partner and I agree that this is likely the best dining establishment we ate during our 2-day stay in Venice. The seafood is extremely fresh, the staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive. This dining establishment focuses on food and customer service. We at no point felt rushed as we did on the main island. We started off with the fish platter which came with whipped salted cod, marinated sardines, raw tuna in olive oil, and anchovies. The whipped cod was in our opinion the best in the area. The Buffalo mozzarella with roasted eggplant was awesome. The squid ink pasta and grilled prawns were also well made and not overly salty like some other restaurants on the main island. This is a place that we will likely revisit if we are in the area again in the future.

We absolutely loved this place! Highly recommend the tapas - local ones with cod and tuna, they were amazing, the meat was melting. And the tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had! The service was great and they kindly explained everything we were getting. And one of my favorite parts - a lot of locals were coming here :) we took a boat from Venice to eat here as a local friend recommended it to us.

My loveliest place in Venice. The incredible view on the row embankment, waves are welcoming under your feet but staff will give you some footrest. The stuff is fully friendly and really funny, I should say that it’s the best customer service that I’ve seen in the Venice. The atmosphere is really calm and has “la vita è bella” vibes :))) It’s not the place only for tourists, I saw a lot of locals, workers in special clothes and a little foreigners. The food was awesome and really fresh. I’ve taken an antipasti plate with fresh tuna tartar and another small fishes (18€). It was really nice. And for the dessert I had the best tiramisu (6€) in my whole life! The cream was incredible. White dry wine is good smelled and nice for taste. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

We have been to the Osteria and I agree with most comments on the quality of service, atmosphere and taste of the dishes. Our experience although has not been of the most rewarding. I can accept the philosophy of the place, also can understand the imbalance of 100 different wines and the short menu, I am prepared to accept the price and surcharge for location and view. What I cannot condone is the portion control. The job of a restaurant is not to be confused with that of a dietician. Pictures to testify that a plate of pasta at €22 with a ragù of mussels - with no mussels as evident from the photo- is not more than 70g of dry weight. Equally a €26 sarde is made of 7 small ones. So I hope the chef and the team understand that customers are ready to accept some compromises but not the lack of consideration of the environment they operate in - in Italian I would call this Lesinare: the intent to reduce the provision for the sole purpose of pretending to be posh. I would hope this review is taken for what it is. Recognition of good intent, feedback for improvement on the execution.

Beautiful, rustic type restaurant. Sat outside along the canals and had the tasting/sharing plates - 9 small different dishes for 60 EUR. They were all very tasty, diverse and utilizing local ingredients well, but I don’t know that the cost was worth it 100% by virtue of the plates being so small. However, the staff service was impeccable. One of the waiters, a blond gentleman who was coming to me with the wine pairings for the tasting menu had so much information about each wine. You could also see how passionate he was in talking about the flavors, where they come from, unique things that make the wine standout. I find that so cool and really enjoyed his and the other waiters’ details. All in all, a good night. Worth checking out, if you’re up for a more expensive meal.

If you look for something different and a meal that surprises you in a positive way. A place with ambitious cooking and very stylish presentation. Try this nice small restaurant in beautiful Cannaregio. Great food and great wine pairing. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Offering detailed descriptions of both food and wine. A mixed experience. This restaurant is tucked away on a lovely canal and clearly aims to offer a refined, slow-cooked take on traditional Italian cuisine. The setting is charming, and it seems to cater to a more “foodie” crowd, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and a fresh take on traditional italian. However, for us, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the service was professional, it really lacked any warmth, and the atmosphere felt more formal than inviting. The food was fresh and of good quality but didn’t quite deliver on flavour. For example I ordered the Vitelli Tonnato for my main dish and was surprised when it arrived as a plate of cold thinly sliced veal with dollops of anchovy sauce served on an entree size plate with nothing else .. for €26 it was a bit disappointing.. and underwhelming. At €120 for two appetisers, two small mains, and three glasses of wine, it was the most expensive meal we had in Venice—and not, in our view, the best value. While others may appreciate its more curated approach, it wasn’t quite the right fit for us.

Exceptional! We had the nine course tasting menu and some wine by the glass. All the food was very tasty and the service was enjoyable too. If you appreciate good food and do not insist on vitello tonnato hot with french fries, you will not be disappointed.

We stopped by for a quick lunch and we’re amazed by the quality and freshness of the food. The raw wild fish plate was a work of art and we also very much enjoyed fried sardines with fennel mayo and vitello tonnato. (It’s funny that some people complained that they serve it cold). We loved this restaurant. Excellent food in a charming but low-key setting, at a very reasonable price for the quality. We had two pasta dishes, both of which were versions of Venetian classics (one with beans, the other with anchovies), which were delicious. We also had their fried chicken with root vegetables, which was amazing. Excellent wine selection & the bread was perfect. Highly recommended for an on point & creative execution of Venetian cuisine.

We ate there twice because the food is really amazing. All the small sandwiches are delicious, the bread is warm and soft inside and crunchy outside. The small tapas is absolutely amazing with the codfish. The owner is very very friendly, you can not miss it!!!

Cicchetti were absolutely delicious, and the place itself is absolutely lovely in a more quiet location, which is a pleasant break from all the touristy places. There was a good selection of meat cicchetti, which we struggle to get in other places and they were toasted before being served to us which was a nice touch. Definitely recommend

Phenomenal spot for dinner. Each plate is not only beautifully prepared but has a great taste to it. This dinner and the ambience inside is a great date night, dinner while visiting Venice as tourists or anything else in between. All will love it.

Had the tasting menu here - all good to excellent but lacked a certain something. I’m not sure Italian cooking overly suited to small plates to be honest. Worth a try. €65 euros for 3 courses and dessert. Ok value I suppose.

The staff guided us toward pairings that were spot-on, crisp whites highlighting seafood salinity, mineral-driven pours elevating the vegetal notes. The service staff was knowledgeable. Lunch at Estro was memorable, refined, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommended.

A restaurant with an impressive selection of wine. The food was good - above average. I had the poached egg with porcini and cheese foam which I adored. The egg was slightly under-done. The Russian salad with crab was good, if a little bit too smothered in mayonnaise, and the monk fish was a little overcooked.

We liked this place. Extensive and quality wine list. Food was good but uneven. Some items were next level amazing and some were just ok. It was always creative and high quality ingredients though. Space is small and charming.

I booked a table and mortgaged my credit card online. But when I walked into the restaurant, they repeatedly confirmed whether I had a reservation or not. When I sat down, no one greeted me and gave me the menu. Most of the dishes were not explained, especially desserts. I can't believe they brought me cookies from the supermarket and said "from their mom's kitchen?" A restaurant with no advantages.

The sandwich 🥪 wasn't bad they called tramezzini but the One carciofini with egg had lots of maionese and my friend mentioned it and I lso noticed it , but the staff are friendly. it could be crowded. And the prices are high a bit tramezzini was 2.80 but we payed 3 EUR

We all visit Venice for the history and tradition. This is a place, bar and Bacaro, that preserves the culture of the tramezzino. an institution. A guarantee, cheap, it serves a very large number of customers who on nice sunny days can consume the take-away food in a square along a nearby canal. From the station is a 15 minute walk. I would suggest getting your sandwiches/trammezzini before lunch time so as not to encounter the huge crowd of customers that crowd this Bacaro, to book if you want a seat, to be patient and kind with the owners who are very kind with the large amount of people they have to deal with.

Bar alla Toletta is a beloved Venetian spot known for its delicious traditional tramezzini. These soft, overstuffed sandwiches come in a variety of classic fillings—simple, satisfying, and made with care. It’s the perfect place for a quick, authentic bite that captures the everyday flavors of Venice.

Even though you can finish them in just a couple of bites, the sandwiches are really delicious. They’re all super fresh, and we found it hard to stop ourselves.

Typical Italian Pasticceria with a decent selection of sweet baked goods and in paeticular excellent croissants both filled and plain. Locals and commuters on their way to work stop by for the quintessential Italian breakfast of Espresso and Croissant quickly eaten while standing, so there is a constant coming and going. Of course they serve fresh orange juice as well. Staff is very friendly.

The panini what we took was good, but don't make a big mistake, stay and sit down. They charge you 1€ more of the foods and drinks separately (!) if you eat inside. The prices what you see on the window or inside are ONLY TAKE WAY PRICES. If you miss the paper on the door with tiny letters about the prices, you pay so much more extra. We paid 3€ more only because of this. Feels like they want to fool you on purpose.

Delicious panino! We ordered the prosciutto ciabatta with mozzarella and rocket. Every bite had a generous amount of prosciutto! The staff were incredibly friendly and translated to English for Italian phrases we couldn’t understand.

A 4.5. For those wanting to grab one or two bites at mid day, these friendly place have some of the best chichettes ( small tapas over bread ) I had in Venice. Super friendly and attentive service, large variety of tasty chichettes or small sandwiches, great beer on tap and good wine list, and good pricing. Sit outside, relax, and watch a younger crowd with less tourists walking down Garibaldi street.

The true strength of Basegó lies in its cuisine. The cicchetti, or typical Venetian tapas, are prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients and are a real delight for the palate. I had the opportunity to try a variety of cicchetti, including those with creamed cod, octopus and vegetables, and smoked salmon. They were all exquisite and prepared with care. In addition to cicchetti, Basegó also offers a wide selection of craft beers, spritz and wines. I tried some local craft beers and a classic Venetian spritz, perfect for accompanying the cicchetti. The prices are absolutely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. Ultimately, Basegó is a place that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience authentic Venetian cuisine. Very nice intimate place for lunch / dinner. Prices are great, our whole meal and 2 glasses of wine cost €15. There is a great selections of wines and small snacks, Chicchetti. This is the perfect place to eat and drink away from all the tourist restaurants.

After having a delay arriving to the airport, rushing to catch my flight and then having to wait for couple of hours at the Marco Polo airport, this place felt like home. Nicest person to run such a small cichetti & bar. I was impressed that he knows 5 different languages, and is interested in about different cultures and chit chat. He even offered me one cichetti for free. You’ll find a queue of locals - most of the time students - flocking upfront the place and having a nice time. Will definitely visit again. Grazie mille.

If you want a truly authentic Venetian culinary experience then come here. The cicchetti is inexpensive, authentic, fresh and tasty. It's a small quaint little corner with even locals coming to eat here so you know it's not a tourist trap. The Aperol Spritz was great and cheap which went well with the different selection of food on offer. There is a little seating area but you can also stand if it's full. A great place to have some lunch or afternoon food.

A tiny local bacaro known for its famous €1 cicchetti. Unfortunately, they had already sold out when we arrived, but the place still had that unmistakable Venetian charm — narrow counter, buzzing locals, and the smell of fried seafood drifting from the kitchen. Even without eating, it was worth stopping by just to feel the atmosphere. Next time, I’d definitely go earlier to catch those cicchetti before they’re gone.

Fantastic place at the Via Garibaldi which is usually packed (and for good reason!) but we managed to get a table. The atmosphere is soft and dreamy, the cold cuts refined and complex, and the service warm and efficient. A few words in my broken Italian prompted a big smile and some conversation, followed by good food and even more amazing wine. I can definitely recommend this place to people who are looking for a local dining experience, just make a reservation if you can as you might not get a table!

Stumbled across this bacaro by pure chance while exploring Cannaregio and needing a rest. What a lucky discovery. The staff were genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. They had an impressive spread of cicchetti, and the server took real time to explain each option without any pressure. His enthusiasm for the food was infectious and really helpful since we'd never tried cicchetti before. We only ordered four pieces since we were just looking for a quick drink and somewhere to sit, but we're glad we gave them a go. The flavours were completely new to us - really distinctive and unlike anything we'd had before. The server mentioned these small plates are popular with locals, which explains why the place had such an authentic feel. The cicchetti were well-prepared and reasonably priced. More importantly, the whole experience felt genuine rather than touristy, which is rare in Venice. Service was friendly without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was relaxed and unpretentious. One of our highlights in Venice! This bar is tiny but puts out incredible ciccheti and drinks. The staff is amazingly accommodating and made us some delicious vegetarian food. And the spritzes were some of the best we had throughout Italy! Wonderful location for people-watching and enjoying aperitivo while listening to a playlist that made my Jersey girl heart happy!

Fantastic little spot for some cheap Cicchetti (Italian tapas) a selection of open sandwiches, arancini type snacks and our favourite- pizzaiola (mozzarella, tomato, oregano and bread dipped in beer batter and fried) very affordable. The ladies that run this hip little venue are quick and friendly, we also tried the local Venetian wine, which was a type of Cabernet, and had a taste like nothing I have ever had before, it was delicious and only €2.50 a glass!

Went on a local’s recommendation last week and found, thankfully, a not-so-touristy place! (The staff also spoke English, though.) We had a select spritz each and some bites I’ve sadly forgotten the name of by now. Perfect to tide us over until Italian dinner time.

We had such a great time at Osteria da Filo, the atmosphere is awesome and the bartenders were friendly. Our drinks were great and the polpette was delectable!

My fiance and I reserved a Gazebo for the day, we showed up around 11a and stayed until just before 7p. We ate and drank and swam all day long and at the end our bill was only €79!?!?!?! I couldn't believe it! Truly one of the best experiences we had on our trip!

Good spot for affordable drinks and sandwiches. It's a really cute space with a lovely cat sometimes sleeping on the window or on some of the chairs. The staff were super friendly. We made a bit of an error when ordering because our sandwich contained bacon, but it was uncooked. We probably should have checked this beforehand because it said 'cured nacon' but I would have always expected it cooked (we're from the UK). It was quite unpleasant to eat.

Great atmosphere among all the customers who were sitting by the canal; it can't get better than that! Unfortunately, everything else was a bit of a disappointment. The food was below average, from the salad to the meat. Desserts were hit and miss since the tiramisu was excellent, but the panacotta wasn't. Service was insufficient, and I even had to walk inside to pay the bill. At least, everything was affordable.

The knowledgeable, helpful staff serving wine at the counter and the gentleman monitoring the seating outside, run this cosy gem in a way that makes you feel like you’re at home. The wine selection is varied and delicious as are the cicchetti. I didn’t eat dinner here and I totally regret it. I sat at a table beside the canal. This place was recommended by a friend who had been to Venice a month before. It did not disappoint. It may seem busy when you first show, but you should be able to get a table quickly. Most are there to enjoy the cicchetti and a drink. Great table along the canal in an interesting part of town. We had the gnocchi with ragu sauce to start and we inhaled it. Then the tomahawk as our main and it was seriously one of the best steaks I have ever had anywhere. Go here!!

We came to the restaurant without a reservation and waited around 20 mins (which was not an issue for us; we were able to get some drinks while we were waiting). The steak was really good, there's no denying in that. However, what I had an issue with, is that midway through my dessert, they handed us our check. this indicated that they wanted us to get out (since that's the universal way of restaurants stating that) and i was shocked. it was so disrespectful and seeing other people enjoy their meal whereas they essentially wanted us out of the restaurant, is rude. i decided to not finish my dessert (creme brûlée was okay but nothing special, i'd say it was a 3/5). overall, seeing how we were treated vs. how other customers were treated was eye opening, and i will never recommend this restaurant to anyone because of the attitude. steak was great but I went to other restaurants in Venice where I had incredible steak. most of the waitresses were nice to us but the guy who's responsible for getting you seated was rude and mean, and he was the one who brought our check.

Found this place through a local recommendation and decided to give it a try. I ordered the picanha without realizing the price was per 100g. The server insisted on a minimum of three portions, even though there were just two of us. To our surprise, the steak was served family-style, a massive 2kg platter of meat. At the end, I told our server “non male,” meaning “not bad,” and we left with full stomachs and just a bit of leftovers. Highly recommended!

I had a great dinner at Ristorante Taverna al Remer 🍝 Tomi from the service team was very friendly and gave me excellent recommendations that perfectly matched my taste. To finish, I went for the classic tiramisu – it was so delicious with the perfect creamy consistency 🤩 In fact, it was so good that I couldn’t resist coming back the next day for a coffee with tiramisu before leaving Venice. A truly wonderful experience ✨

This was a beautiful dinner that we had on one of the last nights in Venice. The manager was incredibly hospitable, and we were one of the only customers in that evening, so we had a very intimate environment. We started with a tart and truffle, which was delicious on top of a beautiful cabbage. My duck with cherry sauce was insanely good and my wife ordered a delicious gnocchi that was very tender. They recommended a gray bottle of red wine to go with our meal that we enjoyed. I would say the meal was a bit overpriced for what we got however, it was all in all pretty good The atmosphere was beautiful, but it was incredibly hard to find this place as we got lost a couple times on the way even with google maps!

Nice place, all decorated in wood. Surround by local people. The food is good and lot of choice of wine and cocktails. I recommend "select" a typical Venetian sprits. You can take your drink outside and sit by the Canal grande as local people do.

We’ve been in Italy (all over) for 3 weeks now and this is arguably in our top 3 favorites meals of the trip, if not of all time. The food was phenomenal. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so romantic and charming. Everything was great. We did try to order cocktails and the bartender was not there that night so we weren’t able to order any but we settled for a bottle of red wine instead which was good. There was not live music playing, either but again, totally fine. My partner ordered the octopus for an appetizer and then a duck roast entree. She said it was the best duck she’s ever had in her life explaining the consistency, texture, and flavor as being fantastic. I am more of a picky eater but tried duck for the first time here and I actually enjoyed it. For my entree, I ordered the tagliatelle beef truffle pasta and wow. It was out of this world. The flavor achieved without it being too salty or too oily was amazing. We genuinely enjoyed our meals. For dessert, we ordered a flan with chocolate ice cream and that didn’t last long at all. This restaurant is away from the tourist traps tucked inside a quieter street amongst the canal. Highly recommend! You must visit this place.

Fantastico! A most unique setting in Venice. From the 800 year old building with the largest beam in Venice holding up the entire building to the hidden alleyway entrance and its own dock off the Grand Canal, this is the spot. The food was equally impressive.

My two Italian friends recommended this restaurant in Venice. We tried going on a Sunday but couldn’t get a table. Instead, we made a reservation for Monday and it was certainly worth it. All the seafood options for great. The tiramisu was just ok.

Great local restaurant, staff were super helpful in offering recommendations. Would totally go here again. We tried the local dish of Cod multiple ways and a seafood salad. Absolutely fabulous with a bottle of wine!

This hidden gem is the best thing we have had on our trip to Venice! Highly recommend that you try all the Venetian local food they have and definitely ask the waiters for advice - they are so friendly and kind, and everything we were recommended by our waiter was top notch! Loved everything from here - they even make their own limoncello and the tiramisu is made by a local grandmother. 10/10 couldn’t have asked for more!

What an incredibly lovely place. We arrived in Venice late at night and went to this spot for wine and desserts. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

Fantastic local Venetian spot! A real gem serving traditional Venetian dishes and great cicchetti, paired with excellent local wines. Elvis, the owner, is super friendly and instantly puts you in a good mood. The whole team is always smiling and attentive. Located in Campo Santa Margherita, it’s in a lively, young area but pleasantly tucked away from the noisy bars. Authentic atmosphere, delicious food, and wonderful people. Highly recommended!

We dined here for dinner. It’s a local spot with a great atmosphere. For the food, note that the locals only ate the cold meats, which are freshly sliced, and they enjoyed drinks. If you want hot food, note that everything is microwaved, and the food is not fresh. We really enjoyed our drinks, we loved the lit candle at our table, and the artwork on the walls was interesting.

Great bar and great prices, they play 50s and 60s music, American Rock and Roll. Drinks are smooth and the bar tender showed skills/technique for sure. A must visit at night. If you like rum, Purple Haze and Rum Cooler are mmmm good. Young crowd to but we did have older couples come in to and the bar tender made them fell right at home. (Didn’t catch his name, became really busy, 9/28/19)

What a great place to have a drink and snacks. The atmosphere is great and the staff, specially the owner, Mattia, are very passionate and friendly. We enjoyed our time a lot in there and would go again for sure. The quality of drinks is exceptional!😍👍🏻

Amazing vibe, music and drinks in this 20-30yo crowd bar in Venice. Drinks are served in plastic cups but their knowledge and care at the counter is not unnoticed. They definitely do show they care! Come here have fun meeting local people and a few lost foreigners like myself. Moscow mule and bloody mary were awesomely good!

Had a couple of cocktails after a meal out which were both lovely. Staff were friendly and the location and atmosphere were welcoming.

This place was solid. We randomly found this spot and glad we did. While the food was just ok the wine selection was amazing. I can see why folks like this place especially during warmer times. We traveled during the winter so seating was only inside. The staff was awesome.

We ate here for lunch today and enjoyed it so much! After coming from touring Doge’s Palace, we were looking for a quiet, scenic spot to eat and get away from crowds - and this was perfect! Just saw it on Google maps and it had good reviews, so we sat down to give it a try. The cicchetti platter was delicious, as were the meatballs. We got glasses of wine after asking the waiter for recommendations, he was very helpful. He also brought extra non-fish cicchetti to our table after hearing that my friend wasn’t a huge fan of seafood (unlike me)- very sweet of him and it was also on the house which was extra generous. We watched a painter by the canal making lovely art and enjoyed our peaceful lunch tucked away in the canals. We were the first people at the restaurant for the day (arrived just after 12pm), but so many people sat down in the time we were there or took cicchetti to go, seemed like many locals. Can’t recommend enough!

We were looking for a quiet spot to escape the crowds of Venice & found it at Wine Bar 5000! I absolutely loved sitting right next to one of the canals, watching the gondolas pass by, listening to the gondoliers’s music and enjoy a cold Spritz on a hot summer day. We were pleasantly surprised by the good service and reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

We arrived at the venue and no one seated us. Then they seemed surprised that we were sitting down. At first, they didn’t know whether we were allowed to stay, but eventually let us sit. That’s fine, although it felt a bit chaotic. We ordered prosecco and wine, but they seemed confused that we weren’t ordering food. They didn’t know if that was acceptable but eventually acted like it was. Again, if the place has certain rules, that’s okay—but guests should be informed. The name of the establishment doesn’t suggest that ordering food is required. Then they brought us water, but the rest of our order never arrived. The staff openly ignored us. The table next to us also had issues with their order. The only positive thing was that, after we complained, they gave us the water for free. But I’ve never experienced sitting in a wine bar and only being served water.

Tasteful, good ambience and quick service. Communication was clear, we were warned that 1,5 hours later the table was reserved so we were happy that they let us sit and did not rush us. Good food, drinks and view. Everything necessary for a solid Venice experience

Nice setting but the service was so terrible. We were in the middle of asking the waiter for a wine recommendation when he suddenly began helping another table. We had to call him back after waiting 10 minutes to order, we ordered and we were left 30+ minutes waiting for a beer and a wine only to be told there was no beer left (fine we ordered two wines) we were then left another 10 minutes waiting for 2 glasses of wine? The waiter didn’t even acknowledge the delay. Honestly would not recommend given the extremely poor service.

This bar and experience from the staff (single bartender) was the best part of getting lost in the streets of Venice! It is a must for a quick stop and a must to order a handcrafted cocktail by the bartender / cocktail artist.

Good drinks at a good price with an awesome bartender. Can't ask for more. I almost didn't walk in because the place didn't look like my scene, but I'm glad I did. Now one of my favourite memories of Venice is sitting at this place, sipping a drink I don't know the name of, while The Rolling Stones is blasted by a speaker behind me.

Table 109 17/07 Unfortunately on this occasion something had terribly gone wrong with service and the food. 45 mins for the menu to come after being sat down. 25 mins for water to come. And eventually when the food arrived it wasn't the usual quality. We ordered the bigoli with seafood which had no seafood just a very very salty black sauce. Tuna with balsamic vinegar Prawns The second plates were average. I have been to this restaurant before and only ordered drinks and snacks and it was fantastic but on this occasion they appeared to be very understaffed and in need of help and the while experience was terrible and not worth the €100 bill at the end.

Try prosecco with lemon. Prices are very good wines are 3€ . Be there aroun 8-10 pm for happy hour. People are very friendly and place is good. Feel free for clothes you can wear everything

This is the ONLY nightclub in Venice! We found the doorman nice. Once inside, the staff was courteous and we had fun. It is a bit expensive for drinks. They average about €10 a piece.

Even though the place is small, it is good to dance with your loved ones. The owner and the bartender are also nice people and very helpful. Waterbus is also available at 4 am, so if you are thinking of not getting waterbus, you will find one for sure! The DJ's songs were good. A bit expensive I guess compared to normal bars but I guess that is their expense for running the Disco. Overall a good experience.

This is a little gem of Venice, the only historical club open till 7 am. So if you’re looking for an after or where to end your night after dinner or a party and you don’t know where to go, this is the place. I always had the most funny nights! Be aware that opening hours might differ for private events etc. and that there is a selection at the door, so if you’re drunk and noisy don’t get offended if they don’t let you in.

Isn't big, isn't woow... But it's special and had great time. Entrance fee wasn't problem. Music was great and also employees were kind. Beside average beverage, we ordered mixed on our request. That's great. I have just beautiful memories from Venice every time I go. People are good, kind and patient even in crowded summer months. All that worth more than five stars. 👌

Bouncer said there were 10+ people inside, although he was very friendly and kind - it was a lie, we paid 15 Euro each to enter a completely empty nightclub. The bar tender said “everyone comes here at 1am onwards” so we waited...no one came. You literally paid 15 euro to enter and empty venue with average music and zero atmosphere. Venice is amazing - this place is the downside to Venice unfortunately. Avoid and hopefully unethical businesses like this one fail so others don’t waste their time and money. Only positive: bouncer at door very polite - the only reason we entered the venue. Sorry. Very disappointed

10 euro for my wife and 20 for myself, (not including a drink, per bouncer). Ha!! Enjoy yourselves peeps, just not here! The rest of Venice is free and much more beautiful! We wanted to enjoy ourselves on the dance floor and this is all that was offered, and well you get the point. Overpriced and who knows what’s on the inside(overpriced drinks and hmm whatever they decide to charge you for). Read the worst reviews peeps and pay attention. I should have for sure!

Really enjoyed my time in Venice and before leaving Venice this is where we celebrated, brilliant environment. They do charge a few euros for entrance, but worth every cent! Great music, great environment in a cosy club.

We embarked on our Italy tour in the enchanting city of Venice. Beyond its captivating canals, gondolas, and numerous cafes, Venice is steeped in rich Renaissance history. It stands as the ideal destination to delve into the lives and beliefs of the early to late Renaissance period. The collection at the Gallerie dell'Accademia boasts masterworks from renowned artists like Tinteretto, Titian, and Hieronymous Bosch, among others. Given the extensive collection, allocating more than a day to explore it thoroughly is highly recommended.

One of the great Italian Galleries, which must not be missed. Filled with the works of Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese, Bassano, Bellini and many others. One of the less appreciated rooms but nonetheless best works here are by Hieronymus Bosch. There isn’t much variety, in the most pieces are from churches, but nonetheless these works are masterpieces and the collection as a whole deserves to be recognised as the best works of the florentine renaissance artists.

Gallerie dell’Accademia — a quiet encounter with the spirit of the Renaissance The Accademia Gallery in Venice may not be the largest museum in Italy, but it is certainly one of the most significant. It holds an extraordinary collection of Venetian paintings from the 15th to the 18th centuries — masterpieces by Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, Bellini, and rare works by Hieronymus Bosch. For some reason, as in every museum in the world, crowds always gather around Bosch’s paintings. His enigmatic visions seem to draw people in and hold them captive. The museum itself is quite compact: if you move quickly, you can see it in about an hour or so. But to truly appreciate the details, colors, and atmosphere of each painting, two to three hours are ideal. There’s something deeply moving about seeing the works you’ve only known from books and reproductions come alive before your eyes. The light, the shadows, the brushstrokes — all remind you that Venice is not only the city of canals and gondolas, but also a cradle of art that changed the world.

This was a beautiful Gallery. We didn't get the audio and we should have to understand the works better. Did not realise the Vitruvian Man it behind a screen for 20 minutes and is then displayed for 20 minutes to protect it. Photos can be taken but no flash.

Centuries of incredible Venetian art! A must when you are in Venice! They have art featuring Caliari (his version of the last supper is incredible & my favorite), Bellini, Tintoretto, and many others, and Canova sculptures that are simple incredible.

Stunning collection of Venetian art. We were lucky to get there at the first Sunday of the month, so the entrance was completely free. Yet, it is still worth to be paid for.

Perfect for to get acquainted with Italian art, there is a small room with three original works by Hieronymus Bosch.
