Fish and seafood restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Ee-Usk, which means "fish" in Gaelic, is a modern restaurant offering stunning bay views and a menu focused on fresh local seafood. The establishment prides itself on using the finest fish and shellfish delivered directly from Oban's harbor to create simple yet delicious dishes.
We had a lovely lunch with my family at this seafood restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice and welcoming, the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Highly recommended for a relaxed and enjoyable meal!

Modern restaurant right on the quay overlooking the harbour. Serving super fresh fish prepared very simply. Great service from the local staff. Highly recommended.
Chris W — Google review
Visiting Oban saw the seafood restaurant and booked table for 12.30. All I can say is the seafood was brilliant. The salmon mousse was a delight and the haddock fillet beautifully cooked. The seafood platter was said to be excellent. The restaurant is fairly expensive but worth every penny. Highly recommended. The restaurant is located right on the quayside and has large windows so the view out over the harbour is quite spectacular given that it was rather windy.

A big glasshouse restaurant with upstairs seating as well as on ground floor so a big capacity. We were there on an April Tuesday evening and it was busy. We had booked a table to be safe. Langoustines were on the specials so we went for them as a main, in garlic butter and also as scampi. We had them in the starter with crab meat and smoked salmon. All fantastic and well served. We were shown to our table and drinks ordered and water provided. The sun was setting and we had a great view of it going down. It is situated on the north pier and you can watch ferries come and go. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and left a healthy tip.

Nice sit down restaurant right on the pier with a wonderful view. I had fresh oysters and loungistines and both were delicious. The oysters were large and tasted very fresh. I chose to have the loungistines warm with garlic butter and they were excellent. The portion is quite large. We closed the meal with a sticky toffee pudding which was also great. Food was excellent, service is a bit slow.

We’re from Australia which has plenty of seafood, but this was one of the most amazing meals we’ve ever had! We got into Oban not realising most places needed a reservation but fortunately the lovely staff managed to fit us in. The service was amazing, we ordered 3 entrees - The Crab & Langoustine Cocktail, Scallops & 1/2 a dozen of Fresh Oysters. All of it was phenomenal! Then for our main we had the Seafood Penne and the Whole Dressed Crab which was just as amazing as our entree’s. We had a small dessert and a few glasses of wine as well with dinner but overall EE-USK is amazing, and we would highly recommend!
Sydney S — Google review
Went there with a party of six for lunch. Amazing! This seafood was fresh and prepared to perfection! Definitely a must-go! Btw they carry crews from Isle of Skye Brewing Company, also very nice! Great service: responsive, professional, and quick!
James C — Google review
EE-USK was absolutely delicious! We went there for a casual dinner as people recommended it, and it was an ABSOLUTE success! We tried all the local fish and the homemade sauce which is a MUST! We tried some local beers as well. The traditional sticky toffee pudding was the last touch for a perfect meal. Definitely recommend going and trying some local fresh food. The service and atmosphere was really casual and relaxed. Definitely coming back whenever we pass through Oban again.

Seafood restaurant
Cuan Mor, which means 'Big Ocean', is a popular dining spot in Oban, Scotland. The restaurant offers a diverse seafood menu with Scottish flavors and is known for its smoked salmon and haggis-stuffed squid. The dining room features natural and reclaimed Scottish materials like Ballachulish slate and greenheart timber beams, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With its own craft brewery, the establishment serves moderately priced traditional Scottish cuisine with a seafood twist.
In Oban, Scotland this is a good place for value and quality food. They are not taking reservations, so needs to plan your dinning which can be a long wait during the busy hours. We tried venison (farm raised deer) goulash and seafood pie. Both of them are really good. The venison was tender and tasty, no high sodium like most other places. Seafood pie was amazingly good as well.
Terence K — Google review
Arrived around 8:30 pm even though the restaurant closes at 9, and the staff were very welcoming — no problem getting a table. Service was great and everyone was really friendly. The menu is impressive, modern, and full of tasty and healthy options. I had the creamy mushroom soup and the local salmon — both were absolutely delicious. My friend had the ribs, which looked fantastic, so I’ll definitely be back to try those next time. Highly recommend Cuan Mór if you’re in Oban — great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service.
Alex C — Google review
Restaurant was really busy, we were here during the October week so Oban in general was busy but we were given a table for 3 really quickly and didn't wait long for our food. Enjoyed my mussels n fries and my daughter had the scampi tacos, she also liked. Fish n chips were good, considering we ordered from the lunch menu, portions were enough but main courses were £12 and under. Would recommend for lunch and a pint.

Lovely little restaurant next to the harbour with a wide variety of meals including venison burger and pie. Great value for money. I've eaten here 3 times in the last 2 weeks as I really enjoyed the food. The specials are usually excellent some of which gave been haggis spring rolls and mixed grill
Matthew D — Google review
Satay chicken was quite good, corn ribs was just boiled corn and mayo, and the steak frites were disappointing. Even though the sides and the peppercorn sauce was quite good, the steak itself was unevely cooked, indicating that it was possibly frozen and not fully thawed. For dessert, we wanted to try the 6 layer fudge cake, only to be let down as it also seemed reheated from frozen. Overall, the prices were quite good for the portions, however, the fact that the steak might be from frozen concerns me about the quality of the upscale steakhouse in the back... Staff was kind and helpful, but some dirty napkins and cutlery were overlooked between courses.

Called in after a hike up Beinn Lora, staff were friendly food smelt great from outside. I had the handmade burger, for me it was just right, so nice to have a genuinely flame grilled burger 🍔. I ate it too fast to take a picture. My wife had ribs, she really enjoyed them too. Couple of pints ❤️ Hearty grub after a hill walk 👍🏻

I was very excited about dining at Cuan Mor in Oban - so much that it's the first reservation I made when planning our family trip. The food was amazing, when we finally got it. I don't want to discourage anyone from going here because the location is beautiful, the food is fantastic, and I'm sure the service is usually very good. We had a large group - 9 adults, 1 baby - and even though they did tell me they could accommodate us, they were not really suited for such a large group. The service was so slow - were there for over 2 hours total (with a baby). I do understand that larger groups are a challenge, but this definitely affected our experience. If you have a regular-sized group, please go try Cuan Mor because the food and atmosphere are outstanding!
Jenn M — Google review
We went here for dinner, the service was sometimes lacking and the food was disappointing. We had the soup of the day for starters, which was squash and sweet potato. It was served with butter and pieces of baguette, but wasn’t very good. One of the mains was fish pie and it was hotter on the outside than on the inside, microwaved and not delicious, the shrimp was overcooked. The other main, salmon with mashed potatoes was also overcooked and flavourless, mashed potatoes were bad. Overall, too expensive for the quality and not worth the money. Would not recommend

The Waterfront Fishouse Restaurant is a charming seafood eatery located in the picturesque town of Oban on the North West coast of Scotland. With its cutesy boathouse-style setting and stunning views over Oban Bay, it offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant is renowned for its extensive seafood menu featuring local catches, including hand-dived scallops and locally-sourced lobster.
Amazing food and great service. I’d recommend booking in advance to secure a table. We went on a Monday night and it was full when we arrived at 7pm. The menu is amazing, our party ordered the Cod cheek tacos, 6 oysters and king prawns to start. All delicious. Then 2 x specials of a Trio of fish (sea bass, sea bream and scallop with bacon and mushroom risotto), scallops with black pudding, ham hock croquette and potato gratin. Cocktails were lovely and the staff were very attentive. Would recommend a visit if you are nearby.

What an amazing place to eat! The food was absolutely amazing, so tasty and cook to perfection. I had the mussels and sea bass and highly recommend it. BUT lots of other dishes available and even no fish options if you desire. We will be back and all this with one of the best views on the town. Thank you The Waterfront Fish Restaurant for contributing to am amazing weekend in Oban. 👍😘

I had the best mussels I've ever had here, they were so delicious. Lovely staff that helped me with my dietary requirements. Plenty for me to eat needing gluten free and dairy free, the fish a chips were fantastic also. The 2 course set menu I think was very reasonably priced. Thank you for a lovely meal!

We ate here two years ago and made it a point of eating here again. Well looked after by Josie, we had the scallops, halibut and the traditional fish and chips. All were excellent and locally sourced. The venue has a great view of the harbour and it's a really friendly atmosphere. We were so impressed that they have maintained their high standards and the prices are reasonable. Eat here!

We recently had a meal here and it was a perfect place to dine. The setting is picturesque and right by the water. The decor inside is stunning and really lovely. It would be good if the lighting was dimmed slightly and candles lit as this could have added to the ambience but overall it was a really nice setting. There is a set menu which we weren’t aware of. This looked to be excellent value but we were too late (not the restaurants fault). It was a little off putting as the the prices were much higher if eating from the standard menu. For this reason, we chose to skip the starters. However, the choices on offer on the menu were great. I chose the salmon main and my Mum had the sea bass. Both dishes were presented beautifully. The portions were big. My salmon appeared to be 2 fillets. It was served with vegetables, potatoes and a sauce and it was one of the nicest salmon dishes I’ve ever eaten. My Mum loved the sea bass too and said this tasted very flavoursome and fresh. We were disappointed with our dessert - we had the cheesecake to share. At £8.50, it was a little pricey and the portion was small. It was presented well but it wasn’t particularly tasty and we were both disappointed. Every single staff member treated us so well and there was a high level of customer care throughout. We were made to feel important and the staff regularly checked in to ask if we needed anything. All in all, we throughly enjoyed our visit. Our main courses were delicious. We’d recommend going during the set meal deal period as it seemed really good value. We’ll definitely return again the next time we’re in Oban!

Such a beautiful restaurant with great staff! We came in about 15 minutes before lunch service ended, with my family of 5. They still sat us and were very attentive. Did not feel like they wanted us to leave so they could close. Our food was amazing and the mussels were the best I’ve ever had! Not too fishy- and the cream sauce was dreamy. My family enjoyed the view and our meals. Other meals ordered were soup, oysters, and the fish specials. Would HIGHLY recommend this spot in Oban to anyone else. Also good atmosphere for children. Added picture of receipt for prices and dishes ordered.

This busy restaurant located in central Oban not only has a great menu but also excellent food. The flounder, terrine and chowder were all excellent. Service was great, atmosphere great and staff were great. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend. 👍👍👍

Located between Oban train station and ferry terminal. It is at first floor so you have to look for entry stairs way. Reservations are recommended for dinner. We had local mussels, grilled scallops for starters. Amazingly good. For the main dishes, we ordered salmon and halibut, perfectly cooked with crispy skin. Recommended.

Takeout Restaurant
Piazza is a charming Italian restaurant located on the North Pier, offering a delightful dining experience with picturesque sea views. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, and other delectable mains. As a family-run establishment, Piazza prides itself on using fresh and high-quality ingredients to create an array of Italian favorites. Situated next to Eeusk, patrons can enjoy not only delicious cuisine but also breathtaking vistas across the bay.
We were there 2 times and both times everything was delicious. The staff was really nice and you can even sit outside with your dog. All of it was just fantastic and the prices are good too.

Nice looking restaurant on the water, but unfortunately the food was sup-par. I got the soup special, which was minestrone, but tasted just like the canned soup you get from the supermarket. At £7.50, it was overpriced and very underwhelming. We also got a margherita pizza that lacked basil (kind of a key ingredient here) and only tasted like something after dumping a lot of Parmesan on it. Husband’s pasta was equally bland. A flatbread appetizer was also overpriced and underwhelming. We were only passing through, but have to think there’s better food in Oban.
Michelle L — Google review
We had lunch here on the pier in Oban - it exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. I had thought it was strictly pizza and Italian dishes, but I had the most amazing dressed crab dish. It was fantastic. The locations looks much different on the inside than what the outside presents - it is lovely and very welcoming inside. The staff was terrific. Very enjoyable.
Jenn M — Google review
This is the place you end up at if you haven’t made a reservation at a better restaurant. Food is passable. I got linguine with sea bass. The mushroom sauce was good, but the sea bass was overcooked and flavorless. Presentation-wise, the cook didn’t work hard. The brown food was placed on a plate. Done and dusted. Speaking of dusted…when they come round with a bowl of pre-grated Parmesan, get more than you usually would, because that’s going to be your best flavor note. Service was a team effort, and they were cheerful, attentive and efficient. Great location on the harbor.
Chris W — Google review
Tried Piazza on Saturday night, table booked for 4 people. Lovely views across the water and pier. We were seated straight away and drinks order taken. Restaurant was rather busy but that didn't affect the service or standard of food. We tried the Minestrone soup, flatbread, goats cheese crostini for starters and were delicious. Then ordered the spinach & ricotta tortellini, pollock alla aglio and from the kids menu chicken tenders and spaghetti bolognese. Every meal was cooked to perfection and throughly enjoyed it. Price was average around £90 for 3 adults 1 child having 4 starters, 4 mains and 8 drinks. Highly recommend and i will definitely be back again. Recommend booking a table as there was a queue out the door when we were leaving. Toilets on ground floor, wheelchair accessible, spread over 2 levels, there is parking but usually busy at weekends.
Cheryl “ — Google review
Food was good quality, service was great (friendly, warm and informative). Such a shame it was let down by portion sizes. Pizza was just tiny. 8”, maybe 9” if you were being generous. See photo - my hands aren’t large…. I would have ordered a second but at £16 I decided to leave it there
Neil B — Google review
Great location, well presented, friendly staff, lots of choice for food and drinks. Family friendly. Could do with a little more space between tables as it appeared too cozy and more into than I like with fellow patrons, and going pastbothers to get to the toilet facilities was a challenging task.

Coast Restaurant is a modern Scottish dining spot housed in a former bank building on George Street. It's known for its intimate ambiance, making it perfect for special occasions. The menu features seasonal dishes like seafood risottos, slow-cooked beef cheeks, and haunch of venison in red wine jus. Since its opening in 2004, Coast has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike.
My wife and I saw this place on a highly rated list of restaurants in Oban, safe to say this place really lived up to the hype! We'd say it was one of the best places we've eaten in Scotland so far, and maybe beyond, especially for the prices, so reasonable for the incredible experience. We had the risotto, the salmon, the venison and the sole, along with a few desserts and each dish was clearly made with expertise and love. The staff are lovely, we encourage all to try this incredible restaurant!

Excellent service and tasty food. Felt the restaurant would of benefited from some background music playing over the speakers. I enjoyed my starter of butternut squash risotto, however I found the size of the portion to be very small. Extensive wine list to choose from. Reservations are recommended in advance. Very tasty fish and chips. My friends scallops were the biggest scallops I've ever seen and she enjoyed them. Disappointed with the cheap poor quality salt and pepper & wine glasses.

Such a nice place. It's calm, the staff is very nice and the food is delicious. Portions are a bit small for the price, but I don't mind as it's very good. I had the cauliflower croquettes (£18) and almond cake for dessert (£8)

Food was amazing. Service was quite quick. If I have any critique, it is that they are so busy, because of their amazing food, that you don't really have time to get to know your server.

Excellent hospitality & great food. Menu offers various choices between fish & meat which bring some challenges on what to choose. I really liked my venison with the vegetables. Starter was delicious, i was a bit unlucky which got exchanged immediately with a new one and came on the house with the bill. Superb service! The rhubarb ginger sponge cake was superlicious

We had a truly delightful meal here. We booked ahead for our first night in Oban, and we’re so glad we did. Delicious vegetarian dishes (including the Goat’s Cheese Salad and Butternut Squash Risotto, pictured), but also well-executed classics—my husband loved the fish and chips. Nicola is such a kind and welcoming host. It all made for a lovely evening!

Nestled at Calmac Pier in the charming town of Oban, the Oban Seafood Hut, also known as the Green Shack, is a beloved spot for seafood enthusiasts. This informal eatery offers a variety of freshly prepared seafood dishes and sandwiches at affordable prices. The menu includes everything from delectable platters to lobster and shellfish, all showcasing the freshest local catches.
This place slaps. We got way more seafood than expected with the premium platter, and it was great… but honestly the best part were the oysters we added. The giant, fresh, local oysters served with nothing more than a lemon wedge were the best I’ve had and I think they knew it. Next time I’ll do 100 oysters over the platter… which isn’t a negative… but that’s how good those fresh oysters were.
Tyler G — Google review
Quite simply the best place I have eaten in a long time! I’m a chef of nearly 30 years and this place seriously has mastered their market, I only wish I lived nearer so I could eat there all the time! If you are looking for fancy, this is not the place, but if you are looking for honest fresh seafood at reasonable prices and enjoy the social aspect of communal outside no thrills dining, you simply won’t find better. I wish there were places like this all over the UK, rather than golden arches and the like. My partner and I shared the big seafood platter and it was superb. Beautiful fresh cooked mussels, langoustines, prawns, calamari, a whole lobster and crab clays all for £48. We enjoyed it so much we went back for oysters and two fresh crabs to take away. The oysters were among the best, if not the best I have ever eaten - lovely plump and creamy - and I cheffed in Australia 16 years with beautiful produce. Likewise the fresh dressed crab (yes I did cheat and get a dressed one, although whole crabs were also available) was probably the tastiest brown crab I can remember. 10/10 to these guys, keep up the great work!
Chris F — Google review
Amazing spot for some fresh seafood. We opted for some oysters & the large £48 platter. Oh boy it was HUGE! Plenty of stuff on there for sharing & a very good variety. Noteworthy were the scallops & salmon. Really delicious. I think this was fabulous value for money. No wonder it’s famous for their seafood! YUM. There are a few tables to eat & rub elbows with fellow customers but if this doesn’t bother you then it’s perfect 🙌🏻
Lou G — Google review
Seafood was very fresh and tasted great. The portion sizes are really good too for the price. On our second visit they had limited supply of lobster sandwich, probably the most expensive sandwich I've ever bought at £10, but was very well worth the price as they didnt skimp on the lobster meat! Shame they didn't have a lot of seats so had to sit at a nearby bench as the seagulls eye up our food. Seating is also outside so may get cold and wet.
Natasha O — Google review
If you come to Oban and miss the Seafood Hut, you'll be missing out. We ordered: Lobster 10/10 Scallops 10/10 Mussels 10/10 - expect a portion that outweighs he price. Oysters 1000/10 - the oysters of the day we went were rather large. I typically prefer them small and sweet but these we so beautiful, creamy and delicious that it made me reevaluate my favourites.
Matthew B — Google review
This spot is a must-visit for fresh seafood lovers! The platters are incredible value—portions are generous, perfect for sharing, and packed with variety. Highlights include the mussels, scallops, salmon, and especially the oysters, which are unbelievably large, fresh and flavorful. Whether you’re going for the affordable £29.95 platter or splurging on the £48 premium option, you’ll leave more than satisfied. The only downside is limited seating, so you might end up eating nearby while dodging seagulls. Despite this, the quality and taste make it worth it.
Antony T — Google review
OMG! Seriously good food!!! Oysters were large and plump, bring and full of flavor...I got the mussels with extra garlic and they were perfect...great prices and friendly service...I grabbed a crab sandwich for the train ride back to Glasgow...certainly not to be missed

Loved their produce and service, very welcoming, super fresh seafood and quick in preparing the food. We had the mussels, which are a generous portion, and were delicious, we also had the crab and salmon sandwich, the salmon one was my favourite, and the rollmop herring was super tasty as well. There's some seating where you can have the food, as well as a variety of soft drinks and a hand washing station/bins. Definitely recommend them if you're in Oban, they're minutes away from the ferry and railway.

Favorite fish and chips and mushy peas I have had in Scotland so far. We got the fish tea special with included haddock, chips, bread and butter, mushy peas, tarter sauce, and tea. Fish was a huge portion and delicious. The fish itself had good texture and flavor and the batter was really crisp and light. The bread and butter was nothing special. There is a small amount of seating inside the restaurant. The service was mediocre. Our waitress forgot to bring our tea and tartar sauce, and only brought out mushy peas for one person. She was very nice about bringing everything we asked for but all of those items were supposed to be included with the fish tea special. Still enjoyed the fish a lot. We are around 5 pm and got the last table. It was very crowded after we were seated.

Fabulous fish and chips and great little restaurant inside. We got seated straight away but timed it just right, as it wasn't long until people were waiting for seats. Good service, although the two waitresses were very busy so hard to get their attention to pay. We weren't in a rush so happy to wait. Will definitely return if we are back in Oban.

Oban Fish & Chips The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and very welcoming. The seating area is on the smaller side, but that actually added to the charm and made the experience feel even more enjoyable. We ordered the classic fish and chips along with tea, and it was served properly on a plate with a tea cup — a lovely touch compared to some other places. The fish and chips were absolutely fabulous, cooked perfectly, and easily some of the best we’ve had. We were seated right away, though we quickly realized we had timed it perfectly, as people were waiting shortly after we arrived. The service was excellent — the waitress was clearly very busy but never lost her smile and made everyone feel welcome. For the quality of food and service we received, the price was very good and absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely return on our next visit to Oban and highly recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a proper fish and chips experience.

We stopped in for lunch yesterday before sailing to Mull. Steve had the large haddock and chips and I had the salt and pepper squid with chips. Both were cooked to perfection and the portion sizes did not disappoint at all! Delicious food and a great space to relax in. The background music was good too! If you’re in Oban and fancy some fish and chips then make this place your go to.

Traveling from the US, we’ve had plenty of fried fish over the years, but not technically what locals would call “fish and chips”. The Oban Fish & Chip Shop, however, was our third fish and chips of the trip. And definitely the best of the bunch. My family had the haddock, and one of us had the chicken tenders. Everyone ate every bite. The fried fish breading was super light and crisp, and the fish was full of flavor. Service was good and the food was served quickly and hot. Great value, too!

We ordered the Fish and Chips(cod), seafood chowder and mac n cheese. The chowder was so good, it literally brought my wife to tears. The fish was superb and the Mac and cheese was amazing. The staff was prompt, attentive and friendly. You have to try this place if you ever visit Oban.

Not the cheapest chippy but the fish is so fresh and everything is cooked to order in front of you , its definitely the best one in Oban . I had a few things when visiting , Hake , large Haddock , chips , and Scallops . The Scallops were very expensive but so good , so a wee treat . The house salad was also excellent with grapes and radish in amongst the usual stuff .

This place clearly deserves its award for the best fish and chips—because it absolutely is. The taste stayed with me long after my holiday, and I found myself thinking about it again and again. If you love fish and chips, this spot is a must-try.

This was one of our favorite places in Scotland! We were a party of 9 adults and 1 baby walking in without a reservation - we very easily could have been turned away, but the staff went over and above to accomodate us. It did take some patience on our part, but the atmosphere is so wonderful that we were happy to sit and enjoy this wonderful authentic Scottish pub experience. The food was absolutely amazing - the haddock & chips... the very best!! We had fish & chips all over Scotland and this place really stands out among them all. The Yorkshire pudding was also amazing! If you are a tourist in Oban, this pub is slightly off the beaten path - but do not miss it! We loved it!!

Wonderful seafood and atmosphere. The most delicious scallops I’ve ever tasted, cooked to absolute perfection - sublime. High class food in a lovely relaxed dining environment. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we entered the bar, lovely warm and friendly staff. Would highly recommend when visiting Oban.

What a great spot. This was recommended to us by our guesthouse owners and it was a great choice. The atmosphere, service and food were lovely. We had the specials, Sea Bass Mornay (Mornay sauce) with a nice creamy mash, vegies and a Langoustine. And macaroni and Langoustines. Both very good. It was nice to enjoy a nice meal and this has been our best so far in the week and a half since arriving in the UK. I even managed to get a Lemon, Lime and Bitters. I didn't realise it was an Australian drink, it was spot on and just what I needed.

Great local Bistro type pub for locals. Dog friendly. Pooch had a biscuit and bowl of water from the friendly staff. Superb combo of laid back music covers, lighting and decor. Toilets clean.

Great Pub - top food good service only fault would be the dogs allowed in such a small place its not a huge pub when we were there people had 2 dogs which kept barking

Warm welcome by the lady and gent manning the bar. Both fissed over our wee scottish terrier (plents of treats offered) and the food was really top quality.. we both enjoyed all of our courses. Euan was great with the drinks and makes a great old fashioned. Would absolutely eat here again next time in Oban.

The restaurant is known for its fresh oysters served with red wine vinegar and shallots as well as flavorful mussels starters with various sauce options.
This is not your American Olive Garden..... much better! The food was wonderful and the staff very professional and attentive. We had the lamb tangine and spicy fish chowder. Classic sticky toffee pudding with some amaretto for dessert.

Lovely food, esp the seafood. The risotto is superb, and the lamb tagine average. Staff excellent. Quiet restaurant with low level background music. Highly recommended!
Steven G — Google review
Good atmosphere, fresh mussels. And… that’s all. The taste of food is a bit confusing. I took the daily special lobster and crab pasta, you can tell the seafood is fresh, and they do put lots of shellfish into the sauce, but you won’t get the point. All the taste is mixed without a main topic.
Amanda L — Google review
I have gluten intolerance and a milk allergy. I spoke to the servers before booking a table and they were so lovely, they had plenty of options and could make amendments. I had a bolognese and it came with a nice GF pasta. They substituted a side of garlic bread for a salad and when it came with a dressing on the side she told me what was in it without any prompting. Just so reassuring. The food was excellent, very friendly staff.

Visited with 7 other friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Variety of fish, venison and chicken were ordered and all were beautifully cooked and well presented. Staff efficient and friendly. We have an annual reunion and this is the second time we have been here. Looking forward to visiting next year!

We ate here for lunch, and I had a great experience with the 2-course menu. I had the mussels starter and the venison ragu as the main. Both were not only excellent in taste, but also very large portions. We had originally picked The Olive Garden because we wanted a light lunch, but it was surprisingly a lot of food. Mussels were great, likely the best I had during our time in Oban. I would get them as my main next time. Venison was also pretty good, and very hearty with the potatoes. Ambience was great. It was a weekday, so only a few tables were occupied, but staff was attentive and excellent in their service.

Ambient lighting, soft uninrtusive music plus excellent service and food. Roast veg and pesto pasta, venison ragu and a fish and chips..all excellent with the ragu bursting with flavour and so tender and the pasta el dente..perfect..thoroughly recommend a visit and we will be back. And well done to all the staff who were all professional, warm, friendly in making it such an enjoyable experience.

Spice World is a casual restaurant with a stunning view of the harbor, offering a diverse selection of Asian cuisine, including Indian, Chinese, Thai, and Bangladeshi dishes. Whether you prefer dining in or getting takeout with delivery options available, Spice World has got you covered. The interior of the restaurant is highly praised for its impressive design. Customers have raved about the delicious food and efficient service.
The man upfront was a very nice man, The day I went they didn't have a pad Thai, I think it was, So they let us change it, which was quite nice. The atmosphere was quite nice, The food both smelled and tasted great (I had the tandoori chicken biryani). The food came in massage portions for only around 12 pound! The food was perfectly cooked and very nice, I wish to have it again but I live in Ireland 😔. I hope to come back to Oban one day.

The service of this place was great. The atmosphere was great. The food was just average. We tried butter chicken, biryani, mixed grill, etc. Chutney was good and naan was excellent only.
Ahmad A — Google review
Had a very bad experience at the restaurant. We went there expecting nice and spicy Indian food but the food was very disappointing. We ordered chicken tikka and chicken korma which said tastes mild on the menu but both the dishes were really sweet and tasted entirely different from what we were expecting. Not only that the restaurant staff’s were rude as well they gave us lunch menu and hided the main menu so that we will only order from the given lunch menu which was only selected items. As we weren’t satisfied with the food ( small portions) we thought to get a bread/ naan but when we asked they didn’t take our order saying they will be closing soon. Moreover the serving staff kept on walking around our table to take out the plates while we were eating which I personally felt very uncomfortable. Not worth it! Never recommend.
Sai K — Google review
Went with my family today, stated 3 course meal £13.95 for a set menu 12-2pm. We arrived at 12.45 to be told to quickly order as they closed at 2 pm and had to be out before then. The waiter wasn't very welcoming and kept approaching the table to tell us to order quickly and to hurry. Really put us off as we felt harassed and rushed. Staff have 0 people skills or customer service. Ordered our starter and main which was brought out together so by the time we ate our starter our main was cold. 2 pieces of pakora is all you get for the starter. Curry was very bland, no flavour at all. My kids and partner didn't have time to finish their meal as the waiter said to hurry again this was 1.30pm. Asked for a tub to put the rest of their curry into and was told not allowed to take your food home. Came over straight away with the bill. When I asked about our 3rd course was told that the rice was a course and didn't include a dessert. Absolutely horrendous treatment, very disappointed in the food and service. Felt like staff didn't want any customers in at all. I will never be back in this place again and would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. There are plenty nice restaurants to choose from, so go elsewhere.

Excellent food, good service and good value for money. They’re open throughout the year which is a bonus. My regular every time I’m up in Oban. Well done guys! My second visit, cannot fault the food I had; asked for less spicy and got exactly what I asked for!!

This place was great! Every dish we ordered had amazing flavor and the service was very friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable and my mom really liked her lentil soup

Meal really hit the spot. We ordered garlic naan (truly 5/5 naan), rice, lamb tikka palak (fine), balti king prawn jalfrezi (recommend!), and vegetable samosas (good). We tried to stick to things that had spice and it worked out well for us. We were exhausted after a day of travel and were delighted to experience a beautiful sunset over the bay with some solid Indian food. Service was good and food came out fast. I felt like I needed to review because the other reviews made me nervous and I almost did not go.

At Coriander Indian Cuisine, the food is excellent and the customer service is top-notch. The restaurant has basic surroundings, but they are clean and shiny with very smooth mirrors. Highly recommend!
This was a real find. Only 5 tables, maybe a little shabby but who cares when it is clean and when the food is this good. It was exceptional and the best Indian food we have ever eaten. No bar licence but I understand you can bring your own. The service was very friendly and impeccable. All at a very reasonable cost. Honestly, I wish this restaurant was near to where I live. Oban, you are so lucky.

First time here. Ordered some food to take away. Tasty and nicely cooked tandoori mixed grill though smaller portion size than what I'm used to, and no sauce. The naan bread was okay, a bit doughy. Overall though, it was good and I'd go back again and try something else.
Jamie W — Google review
After seeing 4.2 review, Ordered vegetarian rice, currys, naan. Really disappointed. I asked for a butter naan but no butter.channa masala is tangy and blood red. They put way too much red colouring which is not advisable. My little one scared to eat as it looks like blood. Quantity was very less for the main course portion. Garlic chilli was high spicy although I'm an asian spicy eater ,I couldnt eat that chilies. Rice was good luckily. Atleast we got something to eat on that hungry night so giving 3 stars..
Deepa V — Google review
The best indian takeaway in Oban in my opinion. There are 3 in total but this one gives more chicken per portion and is always yummy. It's a bit tiny as a restaurant and you have to take your own alcohol I think so it's not as good as Spice World for the atmosphere.
Selkie T — Google review
This place was simply amazing. The owner took real good care of us and recommended the chicken "house special" (unbelievable flavour, so tasty). The lamb was also great. We got carried away and asked too much food. We took it away in a doggie bag and then when we had it for lunch (during our walk around Iona island) was even better than the night before. The service was very, very attentive. And as we were having dinner plenty people were coming to take their supper away.

One of the best and freshest curries I’ve had in a while. All home made sauces and you can really tell. If any of you want to support a small local business in Oban, this one should be on your list. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Thumbs up.

Really tasty food. We decided to sit in rather than get a takeaway, it added an extra £4.50 onto our £24.00 bill than if we had bought a takeaway. Take your own alcohol as not licenced. But you can purchase soft drinks and coffee. Small place, but nice!

The bar offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors alike. Lovely old pub with a main bar and a lounge (both with a slightly different vibe,as it should be.) Shows the sports throughout the week with an information board showing what’s upcoming. Friendly service and chatty patrons. Was very happy I stopped in for one on a crawl of the town. Wasn’t on the Tennants on this trip to Scotland which is unusual as I love the stuff and you don’t get it over the border on tap. I was on the Guinness and it was a nice pint in here. The View Oban is a vibrant live music venue and event space located in the heart of Oban, Scotland. It hosts outdoor concerts, ceilidh nights, and local club events featuring both renowned artists like Skipinnish and Vatersay Boys as well as local talent from Oban's music scene.
We originally booked & paid for the Scottish Ceilidh at 8pm, we got there earlier to eat first. The food & service was really good, especially loved the Long Prawn Bruschetta. The Ceilidh was great fun and although our dancing was erratic today the least, we were guided through it by the caller who made sort of dancers of all of us. The young lady was distancing demonstrations was incredible! The only thing I would say is that we paid for the Ceilidh in advance but it seemed that others turned up on the night to eat and stayed on for the Ceilidh without being asked to pay. I thought perhaps they should’ve taken our pre-charge off the bill as we ate there too. My advice would be therefore to turn up to eat before 8 and then watch the excellent entertainment for free

Very mixed experience. Food served quickly but pizza was burnt to the point of being uneatable and almost whole pizza was left on the plate. I pointed it to the guy who served us and he told me he will take it off, yet still charged us for it. Had to go back to another member at the bar to ask again for refund. It was done without a problem so that was good service after bad one. Place has nice view and potential but pizza needs attention. No problem with other dishes.

Had to visit the oldest building in Oban, and it is a great wee pub that had kept most of its old features and still managed to move into modern day trends, like a great covered outdoor area. We absolutely loved our visit to the chocolate shop. The decor - particularly the chocolate themed quote - were a fab touch. We tried the coffee which was lovely as well as the home made marshmallows (toasted), the gingerbread cake and some of the little chocolates. Everything tasted delicious and moreish. The cafe felt really cosy and the interior is so pretty with flower garlands throughout. Their menu was also big and there were multiple types of drinks and cakes available. The chocolate shop was also great to wander around - they have some other gifts alongside their home made chocolate. Prices were reasonable too, the shop is located right by the water so it’s a perfect place to wind down with a hot drink and soak in the view. This place is well worth a visit.

This shop has a lot of chocolate you can buy for eating and also other treats like coffee, ice cream, and a bakery case. We ordered a strong dark hot chocolate, mocha, peanut butter and jelly brownie, and banana date walnut ninja slice. For a chocolate shop, I was quite disappointed with the hot chocolate. It tasted like it was made with water instead milk. It didn't feel very chocolatey or creamy. We thought that peanut butter and jelly brownie was good but more just brownie and peanut butter (I didn't get any jelly). We also bought some chocolate truffles/bonbons for takeaway, which were good. This may be a good stop for some chocolate gifts but the food and drink were just OK.

I arrived moments before the store was filled with a group of tourists. I spent too much time admiring the displays of chocolate, ended up ordering a hot chocolate after the tourist group. This meant it was a long minute wait before my hot chocolate would be ready. Had to cancel the order (my transport was leaving in five minutes) and settled with savoring a few chocolate candies while in transit.

Visit August 2025. Initially visited in August 2020 & the shop looks the same but they come with a lot of variety now. The shop is split between the chocolate shop with fabulous displays of different flavours that they offer and a café which has delightful baked good. Personally we're suckers for a good scone and a cuppa of hot chocolate; like the single origin that they use. They also offer dairy alternatives. They also had an accessible toilet which is available for everyone and is accessible to any paying patrons. Overall, the Oban chocolate company is a nice place to stop by to grab locally handmade chocolate and if we were in the area we would be paying them a visit.

The BEST billionaire's shortbread I have ever had! We stopped in to buy their homemade chocolates (which are superb) and stayed for a coffee. Boy are we glad we did! The coffee was excellent but the cakes were sublime. The custard cream biscuits were delicious, just melted in your mouth. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!
Susan T — Google review
Brilliant Chocolate Fondue, a must try! The home made marshmallows that come with it are the best! Recommend upgrading your hot chocolate to the single origin version as they are much tastier if you love chocolate!

This large, modern pub has great views over the harbour. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced, with a vast selection of drinks. There is also a good view of the ferries departing for the Islands.
Great pub, we had dinner and breakfast there, nice selection of food and drinks, all affordable, big areas to sit inside or outside. We had the burgers and a drink for dinner that were great, the Scottish breakfast was lovely and the staff welcoming.

Really well located next to the ferry's terminal. The food is really good with a greate variety of options. And the price is excellent! The staff work hard to keep all under control and tidy.

What a view from this Wotherspoons pub in oban. Must be one of the best. Drinks are cheap. Food is cheap but better than you would think. Outdoor space is good too.

Came along for breakfast, you can order direct from the table from the app, very polite and friendly waiting staff, place is clean, food is just the job, we had bacon rolls, hash browns and tea and coffee has free refills all for under £10 and that was for both breakfasts, very reasonable and some lovely views of the bay, would definitely recommend

Finally, after years looking for one, a spoons with toilets on the ground floor not up 15 flights of stairs lol !!😆 Lovely place with loads of room, can see it getting busy when the ferry is in. Very friendly staff, food was very good, swe pics.

A very busy shop, too many used dishes on the countertops, no one collects them, even if you ask the waiter to collect them, he has no time to pay attention to you, the food is about the same, but the new ramen is just so-so, only side dishes and ramen, 30% noodles and 70% soup, the environment is more comfortable for the seaside

Visited while on holiday. Quite busy when we were there but we were served quickly. Staff were pleasant and helpful. A few items particular to this venue such as haggis and cheese pannini. Which was very tasty. There was a good range of food and drink options. Good mix of people. Families with kids, couples, groups of friends. Everything on one level.

Fish and seafood restaurant
The George Street Fish Restaurant & Chip Shop in Oban, Scotland is a longstanding seafood spot with full service dining room and takeout option. The restaurant specializes in contemporary Scottish cuisine and serves up fresh seafood dishes such as chippies, scallops, and fish pies. The chips here are some of the best in town, cooked using beef dripping instead of oils which are not good for your health.
Super good food! We stayed in Oban 3 nights and came here everyday for dinner. The seafood was really fresh and tasty. We have had seafood at different places in different countries but the seafood here was among the best we have tried! The portion was big and the price was very reasonable. Service was also great & the people were all very friendly - we felt so welcomed. Highly recommend this gem in Oban!

Incredible service, incredible food, incredible value for money. When you go back to a restaurant twice in less than 24 hours to enjoy another full 3 course meal

The food here was delicious and beautiful to look at! 🧡 The fish soup is possibly the best I've ever had; it was packed with plenty of fish and vegetables inside.

I went here on the evening of 11/4/25 and the food and service was just brilliant! The waitresses that served me was fab and are a credit to the restaurant :-) I didn’t get their names but if any staff member sees this, please pass on my heartfelt thanks to them and everyone else for making my experience here a wonderful one :-)

Lovely people and excellent food! I regret not getting the deep fried haggis haha but the haddock was fresh and tasted wonderful. There was a queue and a constant flow of customers which told me it was worth the wait. I would definitely go back to them if I visited Oban again. Better than the east coast of Yorkshire and that's high praise from a Leeds lass.

Lovely fish and chips, nice piece of cod, well battered, and tasty chips and homemade tartar sauce. Friendly staff who gave great service. Definitely worth a visit if you are staying in Oban.
Paul P — Google review
This restaurant was perfect for really good fish and chips, the staff were really nice and friendly. It was a only a small room downstairs, where we had our meal. At first I felt it was a bit cramped, but it turned out to be great value and we had such a good laugh with other customers and the staff. Our costs were a little high, but this was because we were on holiday so we ordered a bottle of wine which made the cost higher. Otherwise the total cost was value for money.
Caron B — Google review
A very tasty and well prepared fish and chip. The fish was fried on order which is appreciated. Also, the fries were great and the batter for the fish was not too oily as it can be sometimes. Some negatives was that I was not allowed to salt it myself and instead the majority of the salt ended up on the fish. Large portion sizes so if you’re not too hungry a normal size cod and chips would probably suit two.

Absolutely brilliant coffee shop. We came here for a coffee, ended up with a lunch and a big piece of cake. And the prices are very affordable. Everything is presented in a nice way, extremely tasty. Thank you. Definitely we will visit again

Established and friendly cafe with freshly made lunches + cakes. Cosy interior with friendly service, busy at popular times. Staff very helpful with getting a table reserved. Classic food options with sandwiches, soups and some other dishes. Menu labeled clearly for some dietary requirements. Highlight was gluten free cake kept in separate containers and homemade. Lime + blueberry slice was excellent. Staff happy to answer GF questions and offer alternatives. Would recommend for a light lunch in a convenient central Oban location. Friends enjoyed other non-GF cakes.

First I had the most incredible cheese and pickle toastie, which they offer in a half size - bloody brilliant idea, and happily cater for gluten free and celiac disease. (Separate toaster = peace of mind.) Then when I told them I love baking, the owner declared she had just baked a GF blueberry and lime cake, could I wait till she iced it so I can have a taste? And wow - you wouldn’t have a clue it’s GF. It’s a winner.

We took a walk after dropping off laundry and stopped here for breakfast after reading Google reviews. We had fruit scones, coffee, scrambled eggs, & toast. Pub
Restaurant
Markie Dans is a lively and festive local pub located in Oban, offering a wide selection of drinks including beer, spirits, and an extensive collection of single malt whisky. The pub features a spacious beer garden with stunning sea views over Oban bay and is known for its dog-friendly environment. Visitors can enjoy comfort food while taking in live music events or catching live sports on the big screen.
My experience at this Scottish pub remains unparalleled. Here’s why: • The pub boasts a stunning decor, an impressive selection of classic whiskies and beers, and knowledgeable staff. • The food was delicious, but the portions were massive—I jokingly said my only negative review would be their generosity! My “baby” mac and cheese was anything but small. • The fish and chips? Simply unmissable. • Andrew, our gracious host, elevated the experience by offering us samples of Scottish lagers and whiskies—every tourist’s dream. • We also had the pleasure of chatting with friendly locals, Ian and Brian, whose warmth made it hard to say goodbye. In short, generous portions, fantastic food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. A must-visit!
Avani W — Google review
Friendliest pub we visited in Scotland. After being scared off from another pub in Oban Markie Dan’s was open, friendly, and made us feel at home. Locals played billiards while my wife and I, plus another group of Americans felt welcomed and introduced to a great Scottish malt list.

Spring 2024 Loved the 2 atmospheres Food was great for the 3 of us Arrived when it was just a typical local pub not crowded, just a few elder folks. We could eat peacefully in a cosy spot. Then we stayed at the concert where atmosphere was dynamic and chatty.
Sacha M — Google review
We had an incredible evening at Markie Dans in Oban! This lively restaurant and bar perfectly captures the spirit of the Scottish Highlands with its welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and fantastic live music. The highlight of our meal was definitely the sticky toffee pudding – absolutely divine! It was warm, moist, and drenched in the most luxurious creamy sauce we've ever tasted. Every bite was pure indulgence, and it's easily one of the best desserts we've had in Scotland. If you visit Markie Dans, this is an absolute must-order! The live music added such a special touch to our evening. The traditional musicians created a wonderful ambiance that was quintessential Scotland and had everyone tapping their feet and enjoying the authentic entertainment. It's the kind of experience that makes you feel truly immersed in local culture and hospitality and so happy to be in this harbor town. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe was relaxed yet energetic. Whether you're looking for great food, excellent service, or a memorable night out with live entertainment, Markie Dans delivers on all fronts. Arrive early for a seat or you may have to wait, try the ciders as well.
Travel W — Google review
We chose to visit Markie Dans as we’d heard they were offering a discount on for anyone attending a gig at the nearby Corran Halls. We really didn’t have high hopes for it, we thought it was just a standard bar. However, we were wrong. The pub itself is situated close to the Corran Halls making it a perfect place to stop off for a drink or bite to eat. One thing we will say is that it was absolutely mobbed, it was hard to even get inside due to the volume of people. We were very lucky as we managed to get a table at the back. We noticed some tables were reserved so we’d probably book ahead in future. The atmosphere was incredible and there was such a buzz. There was a band playing too which added to the atmosphere. The staff who served us were really nice and attentive, despite it being super busy. The menu was really good and the food was tasty. We noticed other meals being brought out and everything looked appetising. The food came out quickly too. We enjoyed our visit and it was one of our favourite stop offs on our trip. The staff were also really polite when we tipped and they thanked us several times. We would highly recommend visiting Markie Dans - it’s a fab little pub - cosy, quaint and with tons of character.

We popped in for an evening meal. I had the sausage and mash, my wife had the beef stroganoff. Both were excellent. Good choice of local beers. Friendly atmosphere and excellent service by the young staff. Will definitely revisit.
Colin H — Google review
A brilliant atmosphere for dinner and drinks before a gig across the road. The food and service were mostly great (cauliflower wings could have been a bit more crispy and less oily). The servers were really attentive and chatty. Having booked a table, finished dinner but still drinking we were surprised when we were told we had to leave the table as they had another booking. We felt a bit picked on as this didn't seem to be happening to any other tables. I understand it was busy but managing expectations by advising of this when booking would be nice. Other places state 'We may require the table back after 90mins' for example. Then we wouldn't have been taken by surprise.
Sinead C — Google review
This was our first stop after a 30 hour day traveling from the States, and it was a good choice. They were busy on a Friday night and we didn't have a reservation but they found us a table after about half an hour. Sat on the chilly patio before that with refreshing pints then had a satisfying dinner after that. There were good vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Staff was welcoming, friendly and accommodating.

Fabulous fine dining experience in Oban. Sadly you'll have to wait until next year to enjoy this gastronomic delight as it's closing this week until 2024. We enjoyed a brilliant 7 course tasting menu served by the wonderfully charming owner. Chef is outstanding. If you have a special occasion or are a foodie...this is definitely a must dine.

A highlight of our time in Oban! The tasting menu is creative and delicious, while the service is warm and attentive. I loved hearing about the local sourcing of the ingredients. If you can, definitely add the wine pairing to the meal. Would highly recommend!

We had the tasting menu in January and it was amazing. My favourite thing was probably the Oban whiskey ice cream with honey and oats.. but even my sweet tooth enjoyed every single dish. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and everything you would expect from a Michelin starred place. I hope to come again soon!
Nicola G — Google review
We visited Etive as a special treat whilst in the area for our honeymoon and our visit became one of the highlights of our holiday. Etive only do a taster menu and that, together with the wine flight, well what an experience! We loved the presentation and taste of every course, and the wine pairings were perfect, the sommelier explaining the background of every wine before pouring. The ambience of the restaurant was perfect, very peaceful and relaxing. We would love to visit again if in the area and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Outstanding tasting menu! Each course was beautifully presented and absolutely tastes great. Subtle flavour and combinations- my husband has land & sea and I had the land (vegetarian option) and both were rich and flavourful. Service was also top notch! Would highly recommend!!
A M — Google review
The whole experience was great from start to finish. The night started with water which, at 4£ a bottle, was a bargain compared to what I’ve seen before. The wine list was then presented and I opted for the 14 beaucastel for 120£, a very fair mark up. David then brought out the bottle and informed me that my bottle of 2014 would be accompanied by a glass of the 2012, poured from a half bottle used to wash the decanter, a service treat I have never experienced before. The food was delicious and presented well, with my favorite being the potato cheddar dish with chives and truffle oil, pictured below. The scallops were also cooked perfectly, and served in a superb sauce. That being said, at the end of my meal I ordered a double espresso, which I saw on the receipt to be 8£, the only thing in the restaurant I would say isn’t worth the price. Despite the pricing, it was presented with small pieces of fudge and chocolate if my memory serves correctly. That is nitpicking though, a testament to the quality of the restaurant. Just like the 2012 beaucastel, I give the experience 94p. Special thanks to David and the other waitress, (I forgot her name unfortunately), service was great the whole night.
Marcus D — Google review
By far the best food, service and dining experience we had in our 7 day trip to Oban. The owners clearly care about providing well presented and delicious food supported by a wide range of good wines, whisky and aperetif to suit the meal. Local, seasonal and fresh produce, expertly prepared to give a truly delicious meal. The owner is very knowledgeable on wines and will offer excellent advice. This is a restaurant for those who want to enjoy a dining experience not for a quick bite. Booking is often essential.

We visited the cafe and soft play last week while staying in Oban. What a lovely little gem. Great space downstairs for the whole family with coffee, tea, cakes and food. Upstairs an excellent soft play and play area. Our five years old boy loved it. The only downside to this place - was it was freezing, but not much they could do about it—great experience overall and had friendly & professional staff.

Went in on a Saturday morning for breakfast but they only do hot rolls which was fine so ordered a bacon roll and roll n square sausage for my partner. 1 slice of bacon and the square was half cooked and like mush. Shame as it was decent the last time we were there.

Good for people with young children and clean and dog friendly. However food was disappointing, the mozzarella and tomato salad was let down by piles of limp and browning iceberg lettuce. It was a bit too dog friendly as well, a customer (appeared to be a regular) picked up her dog and went behind the serving area talking to staff before eventually being told by another staff member she shouldn't be there especially with a dog.

Lovely and simple place for a nice breakfast. Everything is home made and we do not have to wait long time for it. Nice to have a smily welcome when we get in and a gentille exchange during out meal time. We really appreciated and last but not the least we went on Sunday morning 😊 ⭐️👏

Went to this wee place for breakfast based on TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Brilliant service with a smile from start to finish. The lady serving us took into account our dietary requirements and tailored it to suit us. My daughter asked for the cream cheese bagel with salmon & scrambled eggs. However, she didn't want the cream cheese or the scrambled egg. She was given the option to add other fillings to the bagel and she happily chose bacon and avocado. My husband has a dairy allergy & again he was well catered for.

Great coffee on the seafront at Oban. Not a large indoor space - some chairs and tables outside but the weather was not helpful. We settled on the Brazilian blend - warm chocolate flavours were perfect for the cold and wet. Service was cheery every time we went. Couldn’t fault it really. Highly recommended.

We stopped by for a coffee recently and had a lovely pleasant experience. The decor is really nice - modern yet cosy with some quirky touches. The coffee was great. There were a range of cakes as well as products to buy such as coffee beans, and branded tote bags. It’s not a huge space inside so tables are limited but we found it had quietened down later in the day plus there’s seats outside. The staff were friendly too and there was a nice atmosphere. We loved this little hotel. It’s so clean and perfectly located. The best thing was the friendly welcome after a day of traveling. We were able to relax in the magnificent whiskey bar with fish and chips from the restaurant next door. John was amazing, from running our bags up the stairs to choosing an outstanding whiskey flight. thank you!

I was upgraded to a lovely deluxe room. Well appointed and clean, with tea and coffee facilities. I booked a room only rate but was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary continental breakfast delivered in the morning. The hotel itself was quiet but there was a lovely whisky bar next door with an outside beer garden. Friendly staff made my stay very pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

We booked here for our first wedding anniversary, and it was perfect! We were welcomed by Chris, who acknowledged our anniversary and was so helpful and explained everything brilliantly! The room was perfect for what we needed. The bar had a great atmosphere and was busy later on. The entertainment was amazing, and the whole place was up singing. The beer garden looks amazing despite the weather, and it has a sheltered area. Breakfast isn't offered, but they do drop off a bag at your door which contains a bottle of water, a yogurt, fruit, and a pastry—a perfect start. Great value for money! We will absolutely be back.

Great evening at The Whisky Vaults the other evening, fantastic selection of single malts at reasonable prices. Excellent service from the team, particularly Caitlin, who was very knowledgeable and found a good selection to match my palate. Would visit again!

Reasonable to slightly expensive for drinks. Great selection of whisky however could do with more other choices on drinks. Good place for groups and gatherings due to size. Relaxed and open area for meeting and having drinks could do with music or TV in the background. Typical Scottish/oban whisky bar.

The answer to my feedback is a pure lie. John should change jobs. Unpleasant Stay at the Whisky Vaults, Oban – Not Worth the Hype We booked two room at the Whisky Vaults in Oban and were unfortunately delayed by an unforeseen accident on the road, which made it impossible to reach Oban on time. We ended up arriving around 11:15pm — four to five hours later than planned. Importantly, we had already called ahead around 4:00pm to inform the hotel that we would be arriving late. Despite this, we received no support and were given a hard time upon arrival. The check-in desk officially closes at 7pm, and after that, no one was available. We called several times with no answer. Eventually, we had to contact a nearby hotel and ask someone to physically walk over to the Whisky Vaults to let them know we were still coming. When we finally arrived, the owner John greeted us. He initially seemed friendly, but the situation quickly turned uncomfortable. He made it clear — in a threatening tone and with aggressive body language — that we had broken his rule by checking in late and warned us not to make him “regret it.” He even threatened to kick us out if we didn’t stop talking, which made for a very unpleasant and tense welcome after a stressful journey. The room itself was disappointing: extremely small beds, more suitable for children than adults, and very cramped overall. The “breakfast” consisted of a paper bag with processed food and an old banana — far below expectations for a hotel with such an appealing name. The concept of the Whisky Vaults may sound charming, but the actual experience was deeply disappointing. Sadly, we cannot recommend this hotel. It’s simply not worth the money or the stress.

Stay away. They cancelled my reservation with only 24hrs notice. For unknown reason. Tried to call but phone has been disconnected. Something has gone bad. Don’t book here.

BEWARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT Service is a one (1) star ⭐️. The bar is AWFUL Alisha was our bartender and told us she knew nothing about making cocktails nor anything about the HUGE Whisky selection behind her. Ended up ordering a wine husband ordered a Tennets beer which was bad. Adrianna was the manger on duty and told us if we had spoke to her she would have loved to help us. Unfortunately, she wasn’t in the bar area at the time we ordered as she was busy with her manger duties.

On arriving and seeing the McD-style ordering screens we weren't too hopeful. But the options were good and the process straightforward, just enter table number per the markers next to the screen and take it with you to a spare table. Hot drinks came quickly, and food not much longer. We just had breakfast/brunch. Staff are excellent; constantly clearing tables and wiping them down for the next occupants.

Lucky to get 1 star…. Got treated like a crook because I took my own green teabag and asked for a pot of hot water which I was happy to pay for… All day breakfast was bland , a bit like the staff… NB11

I had more than four years going regularly to the café, receiving excellent service when having breakfast or simply tea or coffee before or after my shopping. But the last time was definitely the last. A member of the staff decided to display her hostility by different means, including no letting me to use my laptop. This was an exceptional circumstance in which I needed to use it for one or two minutes to sort an urgent task while my internet service was interrupted while moving house. I needed to leave the café and leave my coffee untouched on the table.

The place opens at 8am, went in for breakfast yesterday and got told it would be 15 mins till foods ready to order. Inconvenient but okay, went else where. This morning I turn up at 8:30 to be told it’s 20 minutes till foods ready. I’m not going to bother checking tomorrow

I asked if they had Gluten free bread. I’m a coeliac so not just a preference. The bread was prepared on a counter which had bread crumbs on and no attempt to clean it. The server did not change his gloves. They were not communicative and they were very slow with an air of “I can’t be bothered”. If you have any allergies I suggest you stay clean they do not understand cross contamination.

I think bossman didn't like me cos he slammed my sandwich down on the table so hard that it jumped up and hit a trick before landing. Also toasting it apparently does nothing now because it was cold 30s later when I went to eat.

Great location, right next to the train station and ferry port. Usual premier inn value for money. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Nestled in the picturesque fishing town of Oban, Corran House stands out as a premier Scottish Tourist Board 4-Star Hostel. This charming family-run establishment, managed by Anne and Lindsay MacDonald along with their welcoming staff, offers a delightful mix of private rooms and functional dorms. Guests can enjoy communal kitchen and dining facilities that foster a friendly atmosphere.
We had a great experience at Corran House! We had the family room, and while there was an issue with the toilet, the staff member we told was responsive when we shared about it. The kitchen there is really good and helpful for those wanting to save a bit on food. The pub downstairs is fantastic as well! We found the location to be excellent and we could easily walk to the ferry terminal early in the morning, and explore town from there. Parking out the front was easy and not too expensive for a two night stay. We would stay there again for sure!

3 of us stayed in 4 bed room, which was fine but would have a bit crowded with 4 people. We had a shared bathroom, which was of a good standard. Continental breakfast supplied was fine and had us fueled up for more cycling. There is a secure area at the rear for bikes. Also a pub bar in the basement which did good beers and food.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed with our 11 and 6 year old son and daughter in a family room. Very spacious super clean and very comfy beds. Lovely warm welcome and the kitchen area had everything you could need. It is ideally situated next to public car park and is o overlooking the sea. We would definitely recommend.

We’ve stayed a couple of times and like the convenience of Corran House. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. We really like the self service breakfast arrangement paying for what you take using an honesty box. Our recent stay on a Sunday night was a bit noisy because of live music in the pub, we picked up a couple of curtesy ear plugs by the front door which helped. Overall, a good value stay.

I stayed in Room 24 Tuesday 23rd September, lovely welcome when checking in, so easy to find walk from oban railway station. The beautifully decorated twin bedroom was so clean, fresh lovely quiet at the back of building, nice views over the roof tops. The bathroom a short walk along from room was spotlessly clean modern shower sink toilet. I had a brilliant night's sleep comfy beds . Kitchen area great everything you need labeled for finding utensils kettles plates . I will definitely stay again , may try a room at the front of corran house ,this trip was short notice . I will recommend to my friends.

Corran House was a great place to stay for a few nights. The staff were very friendly and the self-catering kitchen was great for cooking meals, relaxing and meeting other travellers. We were there during Storm Amy and we had a safe, dry place to lock our bikes. We also enjoyed the sea views.
Vicky M — Google review
Beautiful, beautiful room (studio) with stunning sea views. I could just stare out the window forever. Nice common areas. The noise from the pub is completely bearable. We did not notice it at all. The only downside is the very strong smell coming from the pub. It is as if the kitchen ventilation is mounted directly to the lobby and fills all the common areas and unfortunately the room. Opening the windows does not help as they are right above the pub.
Chrastina L — Google review
Had a nice visit in Oban. The Corran House was clean and efficient and situated nicely if you are there for a few days and want to get to the town areas easily. Public parking was right there and easy. We dined at their pub and had a very fun evening and good tavern food. Fish and chips was a must have if you go. Our room was just as it was online and did not disappoint. It was a bit warm for our standard, but fortunately there was a small fan to help circulate. Not a lot of interaction with desk personal but she directed us accordingly in a friendly manner.

Bradley J — Google review
My wife and I ate here on Sat 22nd March, and had a fantastic meal! The service was warm and welcoming, and the dining area we were in (with the fireplace, and dark blue walls and cosy chairs was lovely. Mrs W had the "CAPESANTE ALLA VENEZIANO £15.00 (GE, 0A) Caramelized Isle of Mull scallops with lemon, roasted garlic and parmesan cream, samphire & herb crumb" to start, and the scallops were cooked to perfection, the sauce amazing, and thebl samphire the perfect complement. I had the "CARNE CRUDA ALL'ALBESE £13.00 (GE, 0A) Dry aged beef filet tartar, lemon, parmigiana shavings, focaccia and white truffle aioli" and Oh. My. Goodness. SO full of flavour. I savoured every bite, and honestly had a wee panic that my choice of main wasn't going to be able to compete with just how good this was. The beef tartar was phenomenal. No other word for it. Mrs W loves seafood, so the scallops were followed by "GRANCHIO E MASCARPONE £21.00 Crab and mascarpone tortelloni, lobster cream." I didn't try this, but I'm told it was excellent and lived up to the promise of the scallops starter. I had the "MANNICOTTI CON SALMONE E SPINACHI £15.00 Cannelloni pasta stuffed with salmon, spinach & ricotta in rich tomato and roasted pepper sauce." I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to Italian mains, I like my oven-baked pasta. Was it as good as the beef tartar? No. But the beef tartar is as good as anything I've eaten THIS YEAR. It was that good. The cannelloni was delicious nonetheless, and frankly I think is an unsung bargain on the menu. Rich, tasty, filling... I enjoyed it very much and would gladly have it again. (Though there are so many enticing items on the menu if we eat here again I'll have to have something else.) At this point (as I was resisting wiping my finger round the plate for the remaining sauce) one of the waitstaff came by, and my wife and I both enthused about the meal and in particular the sauces. She said that the chef takes pride in his sauces and as he was developing them he would share them with the rest of the staff to try. I completely get this. He's put a lot of effort into perfecting his sauces, and on the evidence we tastrd he's had remarkable success. Finally, I hummed and hawed between something sweet (the pear-blackberry and ricotta crumble) and the cheese plate. I hadn't had cheese for a while and so: "FROMAGGIO £12.00 Fine selection of cheese, red onion jam, crisp bread." A perfectly decent Italian cheese plate, the frozen grapes were a fun surprise. I was pleased to find a particularly good example of Pecorino, as it's one of my favourite cheeses, and the Gorgonzola was very good too. The only slight mark was the cheeses were not introduced (and not listed on the menu) so you're relying on your own knowledge to recognise what you're eating. With so much attention to finer detail elsewhere on the menu, this should be an easy thing for Porcini to fix. The overall experience was excellent. It was comfortable, quiet, the service was excellent - attentive but unobtrusive, and very relaxed. At no point did we feel rushed. What an absolute treat Porcini is, a very welcome surprise tucked away in the West coast of Scotland! A credit to all involved and highly recommended if you find yourself in Oban.

The food was really great. I had the ravioli and everything about it was perfect from the stuffing to the sauce, without forgetting the pasta dough itself. This kind of attention to detail is what makes all the difference. Definitely give this place a try, it is well worth it!

You must try this superb restaurant! Visit or call for a reservation! We loved our dining experience here. The service was impeccable. We chose the ARANCINI PICCANTI ALLA N'DUJA: Crispy N'duja risotto balls, cream, tarragon, porcini & wild mushrooms, spring herbs and Caesar salads for starters. This was followed by AGNOLOTTI DI GUANCIA DI MANZO: Slow braised beef cheek piedmont ravioli in a garlic and tomato sugo with vermouth cream and also GRANCHIO E MASCARPONE: Crab & mascarpone tortelloni, lobster cream as our dinners. So perfectly prepared and delicious! We loved the best chocolate mousse ever: CREMA E CIOCCOLATO Dark chocolate mousse, Amaretti biscuits, Valpolicella glaze. Simply the most amazing dessert. We scored because we pay attention to reviews! Located inside Hotel No. 17 on the promenade. Our best meal in Scotland!

Ordered a starter and main labelled (V, Ve) assuming it would therefore be vegan. Gave the starter the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was vegan ricotta on the bruschetta however questioned the main as it came with the same looking cheese as the non vegans I was eating with. A lady who wasn’t our server came over and I was told that it wasn’t vegan and I should have specified when I ordered that I wanted the vegan version. When I challenged this and pointed out that no where on the menu did it state the vegan version was an alternative dish or that I was supposed to request it the lady just repeated that I should have said and left. When the new vegan pasta was given to me it was basically the vegetarian version but without the things that made it non vegan- no cheese and a different tomato sauce that didn’t contain butter (it was just pasta and tomato sauce). Had I had the vegan starter I can only assume it would be the same accept without the ricotta, meaning if you order vegan you’re paying the same price for a dish with less on it. No one ever apologised to me or admitted that I had eaten non vegan cheese. In fact I was made to feel like it was my fault. Overall terrible for vegans, unimaginative and lazy vegan options (the menu on the website isn’t up to date, the food i described were the only vegan options on the lunch menu that we ordered from), however the food in general was presented well and the people I went with thoroughly enjoyed their food.

Very overpriced food but low quality. I ordered duck in sweet chilli sauce and it was full of fat instead of nice meat. Also I did get my receipt on scratch of paper instead of proper till receipt. The person in the restaurant explained that it's because they are open only 2 months, but actually they are open almost 5 years. Never again...

Takeaway style Chinese cooked by, strangely, an entirely non Chinese kitchen team. An attractive looking restaurant with nice ambience was unfortunately let down by very average food and a rather rude blonde girl (possibly maitre d/ supervisor as she was not in uniform) appeared at the end our our main courses and plonked our bill on the table while rushing past although we hadn't asked for it and were about to order dessert. She did the same to a gentleman sitting at a table next to us. So rude! On a positive note, our waitress, young girl with dark hair, was very friendly, polite and attentive.
YT S — Google review
Great service, pleasant surroundings, food along the lines of a "traditional" British oriental restaurant. If you venture off the beaten track of beef, green pepper and blackbean sauce there are some interesting scallop and salmon dishes which benefit from the excellent quality of seafood ingredients in this part of the world. It is still not "authentic" Chinese food.

Big compliments to the chef! The five female staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Our children treated themselves to the meringue and strawberry Swiss roll, and they loved it. Everything tasted super fresh and homemade. Unfortunately, we did notice one of the male staff members wiping his nose with his fingers before handing out cutlery, which was quite off-putting. My wife mentioned it to the manager, who took the complaint seriously and dealt with it professionally and efficiently. Despite that one issue, our overall experience was superb. Excellent food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We dropped in at 4pm for coffee and cake with low expectations but we weren't let down. We had a large meringue cream and strawberry and a strawberry jelly cheesecake together with fresh coffee. People were still arriving after us and having cooked food. Was quite a large area with tables inside and out. Just walk through the shop to get to the cake display. There was still a lot of choice.

A great location. Great staff and one of the best cooked breakfasts that I've ever had in a cafe. Well worth a visit 🥰

This is a must stop if you’re in the area. The breakfast is very good, they have nice vegetarian options. The coffee and staff are awesome. We sat outside and enjoyed the water and view. There were probably 8 dogs on the deck with other diners while we ate breakfast. It is definitely a dog friendly spot.

The food in the restaurant is really good and reasonable prices, and the desserts and cakes are delicious. The garden centre part isn't that big but all the plants look really healthy and good quality plus plenty of various types of compost etc outside by the shoreline.

Great view and friendly service. You have to walk through the plant shop there but totally worth it they have outdoor seating for you and your dog or sit inside. The place was very happening so all the locals know about it and love it.

The Oyster Inn is a charming waterfront hotel with cozy rooms and an inviting 18th-century pub. While some guests found the rooms smaller than expected, they appreciated the warmth, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The inn offers picturesque views of the water and a laid-back atmosphere. Guests enjoyed the seafood restaurant's fresh oysters and well-prepared dishes, recommending to book ahead for a table with a perfect sunset view over the bay.
As regular premier inn users, we were a little wary of booking somewhere that wasn't a large chain. Really glad we did, we found our room to be better than most premier inn and premier inn plus rooms. Fantastic location, quiet, really comfy beds, great facilities and a phenomenal view. We will definitely be booking here again.

We have stayed here twice now and really enjoyed it both times. The rooms are really nice, tad small, so remember you are in a small town for a quaint local experience. Booking took less than a few minutes on the phone with someone who fully knew what they were doing. Service is very friendly and relaxed. The location is beautiful and you cant beat the morning views over the water. My only small gripe is there is no access from the rear carpark so you have to walk round the front. Not fun in the rain carrying cases haha We will definitely be back. Its a new stop on our regular West Coast adventures

We absolutely love The Oyster Hotel – it’s hands down our favourite place to visit! We’ve been 4 or 5 times just this year alone, and every visit has been perfect from start to finish. The food is always amazing, the pricing is very fair for the quality you get, and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming – truly 110% worth the 4-hour drive every single time. A special mention has to go to Peter, the manager – he goes above and beyond every single time we visit. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and his friendly, professional approach makes such a difference. We travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels, but Peter is by far the best manager we’ve ever come across. He’s a credit to the place! We also have to mention The Glue Pot Bar – such a cosy, friendly spot with a great selection of drinks and the perfect atmosphere to unwind after a day out. It’s one of the many things that make this hotel so special. We’re honestly gutted to hear that under the new ownership dogs won’t be allowed next year – it’s such a shame as that was a huge part of what made it so perfect for us. Still, we can’t thank everyone enough for the wonderful memories we’ve made here. It’s an incredible place and will always hold a special spot in our hearts. ❤️🐾

Loved our stay at The Oyster Inn! It’s only about a 10-minute drive into Oban, which made it super convenient but still felt peaceful and relaxed. The food was honestly excellent and the service couldn’t have been better — everyone was so friendly and helpful. If you can, definitely try to get a room with a balcony — the view is amazing and made our trip even more special. We barely noticed any road noise, which made it really easy to unwind. Would happily come back again!

Really excellent value stay on my way to Oban to catch the ferry. Extremely welcoming staff who made me feel very comfortable as a solo traveller. The room was not large, but it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a good bathroom and excellent shower. Supper in the bar was great and the breakfast very good too. Will aim to visit again.

Bar Rio @ The Columba Hotel is a delightful spot that truly shines, especially on Friday evenings around 8 PM when it buzzes with energy. Guests typically linger for about an hour and a half, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. If you prefer a quieter experience, Thursdays are your best bet. This charming venue offers an impressive menu featuring fresh seafood dishes like their renowned rock pasta, complemented by a delectable garlic tomato sauce that leaves diners raving.
We just visited this nice restaurant/bar this afternoon. They served a very delicious seafood pasta (I think the name is rock pasta), and I love it. The seafood is fresh and the garlic tomato sauce is very yummy. You also should try their hot chocolate, I'm not a fan of whipped cream but I love it here, so light not like usual heavy cream for cake. Staffs are so amazing and frindly. However, I do not like the soup, taste like curry with lots of veggies. The location is next to tourist information, must visit this place when visiting Oban.

Great staff, but unfair tipping policy Came in for lunch — the service was excellent and the staff really friendly. I wanted to leave a tip by card, but was told they don’t accept card tips. Pretty disappointing, especially since the staff work hard and only get minimum wage. Management really needs to update this policy — it’s not fair on the team. Bring cash if you want to tip properly!

I do not understand the low rating. This restaurant is pretty nice. Although the menu looks like they do not know what are they specialized on, but the food/kitchen we have tried was deliciou. We had Black mussels, although I did not know this version with cream the taste was perfect. Even Indian chicken madrasi taste pretty authentic, I would prefer much more spicy but still tasty. Naan needs some improvements though. Good place.

We came for lunch with two friends, and we were treated badly from the moment we walked in until we left! They made ugly faces and spoke poorly to us every time we wanted to order another drink or dessert. They waved their hands at us. In other words, they made us feel like we were in the way and unwelcome! Being Italian, I've never felt so bad in an Italian restaurant! It was the blonde of the bar and the peeling of the entrance

Genuinely the best food that I have had in Scotland by far. I have been here for two weeks now and have cried twice about how bad food has been, this time I almost cried from how good it was. I was having a horrible day and this food genuinely brightened my mood so much that I am now out at a bar on a Tuesday. I was expecting to have spent maybe 40 pounds and only had spent 25. It is 2 hours later and I am just sitting here thinking about how good the food was. I will be thinking about this place for the rest of this trip.

Give this place a wide berth if your into atmosphere or friendly service. Food was average and the waitress made me fear for my life. These guys are just cashing in on the unsuspecting tourist just trying to get a reasonable feed.

Terrible service and rude staff. Bought three pizzas and three beers for £61.00 , a few minutes later noticed a “pizza special £10.95 for a pizza and a beer” . Asked why I didn’t get his deal and was told I never asked for it ! When I tried to change they said it’s too late and the beer I ordered wasn’t on the deal . Staff told me it’s not their job to make people aware of the deal I should have noticed it and enquired . Manager came out said it’s too late once they have taken card payment it can’t be refunded . Joke

The Taj Mahal in Oban is a delicious Indian restaurant that serves up fresh, tasty food with plenty of spice. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed evening out. The prices are also very reasonable for what you get - highly recommended!
My husband and I had an excellent experience at Taj Mahal! Contrary to many of the reviews listed, we had excellent service from the moment we walked in through leaving the restaurant. Was told about this place by a friend who spoke highly about his experience so thought I'd give it a go. My order starter: chicken pakora. This arrived with some side salad onion lettuce tomato & cucumber, the amount of chicken in the pakora wasn't alot 1 piece did fall out as it looked so small, however the tasting of it was outstanding it was a tidy starter. Perhaps just slightly bigger bits of chicken would help. Main my favourite Chicken tikka masala, with sone pilau rice and of course Peshwari Naan again first time trying here so wasn't sure what to expect portion wise, oh I forgot I also added sone fries aswell. This arrived large plate of fries, nice size portion of tikka masala and of course the rice & peshwari naan. Tasted really really good actually some size of portion and in all honestly I can't fault it nice and hot fresh cooked. Chips did look a little over done but I'm not taking away the fact the main was outstanding. Experience 5* Staff 5* (very helpful) Wait time 5* (didn't wait long to be seated) Would i return to this venue? YES. Bill cost £38

I understand that running an Indian restaurant in a place like Oban is quite challenging mainly due to the fact that it is a relatively colder place and Indian food raw materials need certain conditions to stay at their absolute best and hence, i had very low expectations as I had Indian food craving ngl. Quickly noticed that right when I entered, the place was filled by locals and we were the only Indians there. The quality of food was below par, serving was somewhat okay and food flavoring was evident in every single bite. I'm not going to list what we ate due to the wellness of the restaurant and Oban folks seem to love it however we were not able to finish the food we ordered. If you are an Indian stopping by Oban on your Scottish Highlands journey, i would not recommend the place as it was not worthy for the price you pay for.

Came here for a family meal as I love Indian food. My hot plate that was being served on my placemat was dirty and had to ask for another one and the young waiter that served me absolutely stunk of bad odour. Could do with maybe some Indian music playing to make the place more authentic Apart from that food was amazing !

The food was fabulous. I'm an Indian food expert, and the flavors were excellent. The butter chicken was exceptional. We came to this place on an evening where all the restaurants were full and got turned away from a half dozen other places and the wonderful people here opened up space and we had a fabulous dinner. Bravo. Much recommend these guys.

BAAB Meze & Grill is a stylish and airy eatery that offers stunning sea views and a menu influenced by Turkish, Greek, and Italian cuisines. Additionally, the establishment features Brew & Co, a cafe and bar serving an array of beer, whisky, cakes, pastries, and coffee.

Good restaurant which is part of the Parle Oban hotel. Food is decent and portions are really good. For our dinner the server was a bit grumpy and very slow service however food was good. If you are not used to the menu it will be a tough place to decide. The safest bet here is the sea food and I loved the prawn dish. They had a Christmas menu and the main menu lot of food options were not available. Breakfast was very good and the server was good. Overall a good option to eat when you are staying at the hotel.

This is a nice, surprising find in Oban. It's Lebanese style food with a twist, using local produce where possible. We enjoyed all the food we had and it felt healthy and light. The service was patchy but friendly. We had three small plates shared between four of us and one large plate each which worked out about right. We then shared a pudding each been two. The puddings were really special with a good range and all very unusual. We really enjoyed the two we tried.

We had a good meal here in this restaurant located in the bottom floor of a hotel. Service was prompt, and the food was pretty good. They suggest you order some small plates (we ordered hummus and a salad) and a main (I ordered lamb kababs and my wife ordered chicken shish). All were good!

Tl;dr food so good I almost cried My tour company recommended coast for dinner but it was booked for the night which I’m so glad because I ended up at Baab and it was better than anything else I could have found in Oban. No offense to Scottish taste, but I was not in the mood for another burger or meat pie. I got the salmon, was perfectly moist and encrusted with panko and the zaatar seasoning. It was NOT spicy unlike the description. It came with a lovely but light salad bed of radish and radicchio so I recommend ordering a starter. Might I recommend the baba ganoush (eggplant dip with flatbread)? It was smoky and garlicy and complex. For dessert I had the rice pudding, which was light and tasted like pistachios and rose water (in a good way). Not to toot my own horn but I’m a worldly eater and this meal was some of the best I’ve tasted - I almost cried. The design was pretty with lots of teal accents - super aesthetic. I recommend making reservations but they were able to seat 1 at 6pm on a Wednesday.

The Barn Bar is a charming restaurant with delicious food and great atmosphere. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and Angus the chef is a wizard in the kitchen. There's something for everyone on the menu, from mussels to venison stew to steak - and everything is fresh and home-made. If you're in Oban, be sure to visit The Barn Bar!
I visited The Barn last night and the staff here are so friendly and efficient. The lady in charge (I didn't catch her name) was so bubbly and made us feel so welcome and really catered to me, my parents and my 1 and a half year old, making sure we all felt comfortable. There was a younger male who was learning the ropes of serving and she was so supportive and kind as she was guiding him which is really refreshing to see. The food was freshly cooked and amazing also. The atmosphere was so warm and if I didn't live so far away I'd come here every week. Would highly recommend it, not just for families but everyone, definitely a place where everyone is welcome and treated well. Brilliant experience and amazing customer service which I haven't seen for a long time. Thank you :)

We popped in today on the off-chance we might get a table booking for Sunday lunch after a hike up to the loch. What a warm and friendly welcome! We returned from our walk earlier than the time the table was booked for and enjoyed a drink from the bar and a couple of games of pool before being seated ahead of the booked time. The service was superb and the ambience very relaxed. The two ladies working front of house worked so hard to keep all of their diners happy and well looked after. Our meals (venison and a Sunday roast) were tasty and we didn't have enough room left for dessert. We will definitely return when next in the area.

Popped in on a rainy Monday for some dinner and it was pretty busy, so must be a popular spot with the locals! The Kerrera Tea Garden and Bunkhouse is a fantastic spot for lunch or afternoon tea in the beautiful surroundings of the castle. The service was great and the food delicious, with both card and cash accepted. The views are amazing, and there's also an outside toilet nearby.
What an absolute gem of a place! We did a long walk with our children around the island today, and were absolutely thrilled to find the tea room. The food was excellent (lemon drizzle to die for) and had a great menu. The staff were all lovely, and the setting was absolutely stunning overlooking the bay. Great that there were indoor and outdoor seating options, and the general feel was just great. I would absolutely recommend this tearoom, and hope to return one day!

Great wee simple cafe on the island, not many options but hearty portions, soup, cakes, coffee and tea on offer. The lentil soup was fantastic along with the lemon drizzle cake! Inside and outside seating. Well worth the climb up the hill and the castle is only a 10 minute walk from here with amazing views. There is also a toilet available before the walk back to the ferry. Kerrera was a lovely island.

A really nice place to have a cup of tea and a sit down after the walk from the ferry. Nice and polite staff and quick efficient service. The lemon drizzle cake moist and light and the tea nice and hot. There is seating both inside and out so even if the weather is bad, this place would make a convenient shelter and break from the elements. The toilets although busy, were clean and tidy as you would expect. All in all a nice place to visit with wonderful views and you might also see the peacock if you’re lucky. Thank you

We went to this beautiful little tea garden on Kerrera on a whole-day walking-trip from Oban that includes a ferry. Glyen Castle is just around the corner, so the two can be combined easily. The people are super nice, the food and drinks are delicious and all together the destination is more than worth the travels. Fish and chips takeaway
Restaurant
Tralee Bay Fish and Chips is a highly recommended spot for delicious, generously portioned fish and chips. The fresh fish and well-cooked chips make for an excellent meal, with massive portion sizes available. They also offer options like battered Quorn sausage for vegetarians and dynamite black pudding supper. It's advisable to arrive early due to potential queues, but the wait is well worth it as everything is freshly cooked.
Best chips ever. Lovely and fresh, nice and hot and so tasty. Recommend you go there.
Lynn C — Google review
From the moment I laid my eyes upon the heaven which was the Tralee Bay fish and chips restaurant, a wave of satisfaction rippled through my veins as I was greeted with open arms by a jovial gentleman orchestrating this illustrious establishment. Upon ordering a large fish supper (as I was famished), I had my doubts as to whether the black hole in my stomach could ever be satisfied. Quick as a flash, within a mere 5 minutes, I was presented with what I can only describe as deep fried hump back whale, fore the sheer size of what lay in front of me shook me to my core. As I indulged in my first bite, i wondered whether this is what true love really felt like. Upon by second bite, a wave of sadness rushed over me as from this moment i came to the realisation that every meal I ate from this point would pale into insignificance compared to this majestic masterpiece. Long story short, 10/10 I would definitely recommend, they are also pet friendly and overall a lovely bunch. Ps. Life size donkey for scale

I was recommended to try this place, and have to say it was fantastic the chips and fish were perfect and no complaints at all. I did ring to order ( and they rang me back) with a time slot etc and only took cash. So please ring ahead as someone turned up and was told over an hour wait. And I can see why with the food tastes so good. Many thanks to all the staff

Odd having to pre order and arrive at a certain time. Fish was good and substantial. I ate at tables (outside) so not much of an atmosphere. Not cheap but which chippie is these days?
Donny G — Google review
Maybe award winning fish and chips - I don’t know what they are like and I’ll never know because I was unable to get any when I went and I won’t be going back - but no points for their abysmal customer service! First off they only take cash which in this day and age is totally unacceptable. Secondly, when I returned, having had to go back to the village shop (which didn’t have a cash machine therefore requiring me to buy something in order to get cash back) I was told in an angry manner by the woman serving that I would have to wait an unbelievable hour and a quarter due to the volume of existing orders. No apology was offered and no sympathy given despite my polite manner in expressing disappointment. Quite clearly the staff require customer service training; one suggestion would be to visit the award-winning Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum which not only provides award-winning fish and chips but also award-winning customer service.
Andrew F — Google review
Fish (in this case Haddock) was really nice, but chips were tasteless and very dry. (Mushy peas were also very nice 🙂). First fish n chip shop I've ever been to where you need to wait approx 1/2 hour for them to be ready. You need to preorder for pick up which I must have missed on the website ... my fault I suppose not thinking it's like 'normal chippies'. Also £34.90 for 2 Haddock and chips plus one mushy peas is expensive.

Genuinely the best fish and chips I've ever had and being Scottish I've had a lot in my life. Highly recommended. With regards to the opening times, get there early, like 5 or 6pm early. You have to queue and then wait for about 20 minutes for your order to be freshly cooked. The portion sizes are also massive. Well worth the visit and wait.

A great lunch today at Loch Melfort. The view is worth the 30 minute ride south of Oban and the beautiful gardens of Arduaine are next door. Dog friendly, a relaxed space in the bar & lounge and a more structured dining room. Only disappointed that they don't do Sunday Lunch although hopefully it will be back in the Winter when the tourists have returned home. Today we ordered the vegetable & prawn pathia, the pea 🫛 risotto and a bruschetta (although not much flavour in the cheese and peas are an unusual choice yet no tomato 🍅 which was odd). The dessert of Raspberry Cranachan Meringue was really delicious. The service was attentive and our table has been reserved in the window overlooking the loch and out to sea. We spent £78 for 2 (1 x glass of wine and 1 x coke) and with 3 largely vegetarian choices it was at the higher end of what we would normally spend on a nice Sunday lunch (£40 a head compared to £25 for example). Overall we love the views, the food is good (could include a steak easily and make some roasted tatties without much challenge as it's on the a la carte). So we will definitely go back but when we see the posts on Facebook telling us about their rare roast sirloin of beef and Yorkshire Pud).

Had a light lunch here. This hotel is in the most beautiful setting looking straight out over Loch Melfort. A good location for either a few days complete relaxation as it is so peaceful sitting in the lounge or in the gardens overlooking the Loch. Or if you are keen walkers it is also a good base.

The Lochnell Arms Hotel is a charming waterside retreat with bright rooms and a restaurant offering Sunday carvery. The chefs take pride in using fresh local produce, creating seasonal menus that showcase the best flavors of the region. Guests have raved about the delicious steak and ale pie, as well as the cajun chicken burger. With new owners at the helm, including a dedicated management team and talented kitchen staff, this hotel is set to reach new heights.
We had to book this hotel on short notice, and it turned out to be a truly pleasant surprise. The hospitality was exceptional — the staff was courteous, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The location is excellent, easily accessible and well connected, which made everything so convenient. What stood out the most was the traditional breakfast — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and care. Highly recommended!

Location was lovely looking out onto the water. We only ate in the restaurant, I ordered a half haddock and chips, it came on a tiny plate with the fish sitting on top of the chips and salad on the plate, I had to ask for a bigger plate as I couldn't cut it. And why do you get cold salad on a warm plate with fish and chips?? My partner also had the haddock and chips, the batter was soggy and the chips dry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The young woman who welcomed us to to hotel was very professional and friendly. We were served at dinner by an equally brilliant young man. Our meal was lovely; steak pie a particular highlight. Our son ate from the kids menu, and the quality was very good (always a risk when ordering chicken nuggets that they are super processed, but these were breast of chicken pieces). The room was spacious and clean with beautiful views. The continental breakfast was great, with a very reasonably priced cooked breakfast menu. We have to admit our expectations were low as it was a last minute booking with limited choice in the area, but we were pleasantly surprised! I hope our thanks can be passed to the staff in particular, can’t fault your service!

Stopped here after our NC 500 tour, this isnt on the route but still nice area to visit. Hotel was a good price and is very cosy. Staff were friendly and we even had a call to say what tine food would finish as were we having a late check in. Shower was a little on the small side though so larger people might struggle. View from breakfast was nice and ataff again were friendly. There is a bar on site open until late. Plenty of parking and dog friendly.

Met up with friends for the night as halfway between where we both live. We all enjoyed our evening there and as each of us have dogs this place was ideal. Staff were very friendly and gave us a great service. Evening meal and breakfast was very good and the location and view from the hotel is perfect. Very good value and we all will be back.

This hotel is excellent with a magnificent view from our room window. The breakfast was very good and we also had dinner at the hotel which was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the shower- it was too small.

Just had a very nice meal here, sat out on the terrace watching the boats in the harbour. Some very nice fishcakes with a good kick of lemongrass and chilli, other half had a big portion of caesar salad that was just what you need after a hot day of cycling. Staff were delightful and made us and everyone else there feel at home. Would recommend over eating at other nearby hotels, naming no names...

China Restaurant is a delightful spot that offers a blend of traditional Chinese cuisine alongside enticing Thai dishes and fresh local seafood. Despite some initial hesitations due to mixed reviews, many diners have found their experiences to be quite the opposite. The menu features mouthwatering options like barbecue spare ribs and garlic chili king prawns, which have received rave reviews for their flavor and quality. Guests appreciate the friendly service from attentive staff members who ensure a pleasant dining experience, even during busy takeaway times.
Went here while visiting Oban. Food absolutely gorgeous cannot fault it at all. Staff were lovely and friendly. Prices are to be fair reasonable for sitting in the restaurant. Overall would ho here again more if I stayed in Oban. But if we visit here again I would definitely go back

5 stars. We arrived late in evening but the staff were still happy to accommodate our table of 12. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make our time there special. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff attentive. I would recommend anyone heading to Oban to try this special place. We will definitely be back again the next time we are in town. Thanks to Chris and his team for looking after us so well.x

China Restaurant was overall quite good. I suspect that the flavor of Chinese food in various countries is different from place to place. I had szechuan chicken. I asked for extra spicy and, of course it wasn't, but it never is. It was flavorful and well prepared. We had appetizers of chicken satay and fried spring rolls, which were good. My son had lemon chicken, which he said was good. My daughter had vegan "chicken" lo mein, which I was able to taste and was very good. Not sure how they made the vegan "chicken", but I was impressed. My wife had szechuan tofu, which she also liked. Overall a good meal. We had excellent service. The place was nice, about like most Chinese restaurants. Right next to/ across a small street from the Oban Distillery.

This little restaurant is rather tucked away on the cul de sac that primarily serves the Distillery. I visited for lunch and there is a reasonably priced set lunch menu. There weren't many customers on the day I visited but quite a few delivery orders were going out. The food was pretty much what you would expect for a little Chinese restaurant in a small Scottish town so no complaints there. Service was efficient and rapid so I wouldn't have any problem going back here.

The pic that i took is an aftermath pic. As an asian, i lower my expectation, but turns out this restaurants is not too bad.. we order the honey chili chicken and roast duck garlic and chili. Its okay maybe i give score 7/10. The price still reasonable, and the staff are nice.

Nestled within the historic Manor House Hotel, The Manor House Restaurant is a gem that promises an exceptional dining experience. This fine dining venue highlights the finest Scottish ingredients, artfully crafted into exquisite dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. Guests can enjoy their meals in an elegant dining room adorned with period features and breathtaking views of the harbor, making it an ideal spot for celebrating special occasions.
Of the many great dining experiences on my recent holiday this was outstanding. We came across the Manor House restaurant quite by accident whilst out walking during the day. Looking for somewhere to eat that evening we were welcomed by the owner and given all the information we needed. The menu choices were brilliant and with deftly served drinks we enjoyed the glorious views in the lovely garden whilst deciding. The dinner was so delicious and served by a professional and friendly waitress who clearly enjoyed her job. The maitre d, David, ensuredthat we had a perfect evening. The Manor House is a shining jewel in the crown of Oban.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever received at a restaurant. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were 30 mins late for reservation. We arrived to find the restaurant completely empty and they told us our reservation had no end time limit to for our dining experience. But they refused to serve us because we were late stating they had time slots for a reason. Unreasonable and rude in their communication. Don’t recommend for travellers looking for ANY flexibility.

We were waiting to board our yacht for a tour and saw this restaurant and tried lunch. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The lunch menu was excellent and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie and the minestrone soup as well as one of their white chocolate and strawberry slice. Just lovely in a relaxing position by the Marina. It's a quick bus ride if you aren't driving, but there is plenty of parking. We did not stay here but they do also have rooms.

6 sailors waiting to collect their boat. The lunch..the Macaroni cheese was tragically poor...the lasagne was very poor..the fish and chips were passable. Service and environment werent great either (ie generally disinterested and minimal decorations). We were all very disappointed as it was a great location. We will NOT be going back. JE

Restaurant is horrendous. Being told that last order is at 20:15 (otherwise the chef can’t get home anymore..) I showed up at 19:15 to order a very standard fish & chips only to be told that it wasn’t possible as there was a group coming of 20 pax. I wasn’t told anything like it when I called earlier. That group wasn’t seated and ordering, nonetheless they wouldn’t take my order even though there were plenty tables available. Being in the Marina there is no other option other than going to Oban.. Don’t rely on these people. A very sad bunch. Never again.

They have restaurant as well, absolutely delicious original food, choices of fish options, vegetarian positions, 🥩, burgers, Paninis and soups 🍺 and other alcoholic drinks. Stunning view on the marina. Dog friendly place. Very tasty choice of coffee based on original Italian lavazza beans. Delicious cheesecake desserts. I heard take away food option is on the way as well. Very open menagment , looking for local people ideas and opinions sharing about how to turn this place in to local community multifunctional space, to turn that 🐸, iconic place in to multicultural integration and every day meeting 🤝 place. They are cool, need a bit support to grow.. but have potential and will expand for sure 👌👍👍👍🎉

"The Fisherman's Kitchen Dining by appointment" offers a spectacular seafood dining experience, showcasing the incredible flavors of fresh fish. The chef's dedication to quality is evident in the carefully prepared platters featuring smoked options, dips, and home-baked bread. Guests are treated to an entertaining evening as they watch the chef assemble sharing platters and explain each element of the dinner.
Spectacular. The best seafood I’ve ever had. SO fresh, and so well cooked! Drew is a seafood purist, believing in showcasing the incredible flavour of the fish instead of drowning it in sauces, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. His incredible connections around the area culminate in a platter worthy of kings, with some incredible smoked options, dips, home-baked bread, and more. While neither my partner nor I have any dietaries & the meal is (obviously) primarily seafood-oriented, we were pleased to find out that you can request a meal suitable for even vegans! Would highly suggest having a conversation with him about what you like & want to explore, he’s very friendly and extremely helpful. Keep in mind it’s BYOB, however complimentary coffee & dessert is offered. He has great local suggestions for stores to buy wine from, though, which I would also recommend! Also ask Drew about taxi options home - he put us in touch with an excellent driver and even organised it for us. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this experience more. Absolutely incredible, will absolutely come again the next time we’re in Scotland!

Drew was so helpful to our friends when they booked the six of us for dinner at the Fisherman's Kitchen. The entire night was so entertaining. We love a Seafood platter we have eaten many in many different places in the world but last night we had this one on our own doorstep at ‘The Fisherman’s kitchen’ Balvicar it was beautifully presented and tasted delicious the freshest of products used. Thank you Drew we had a lovely night in your company as well as delicious food. You need to make an appointment as Drew serves you in his own home he can also offer you accommodation in this beautiful location. I recommend a visit here to anyone who loves fresh seafood and fish served beautifully. Edna

I can’t recommend this business highly enough. The Seafood platter is fantastic and such good value. You get a really big platter for £55 per person. We had Lobster, crab, langoustines, squat lobsters, hot smoked salmon, cold smoked salmon, smoked mussels and scallops ceviche. Also lovely homemade bread and homemade mayonnaise (one with chilli and one with dill seeds). It’s simply the best. I’m a real seafood lover and happy to prepare my own but to have all of this brought to your door during lockdown or when on holiday is fantastic. Drew who runs this business is always so friendly and welcoming too. Always tries to accommodate what people want and delivers with a smile! Thank you Drew.

What an experience. We had lunch at the fisherman's kitchen today, the four of us. Drew is an amazing host, kind and friendly. He welcomed us and we immediately felt like we were home. Talking to him is a pleasure as he will walk you right into his passion for the sea and its products. Everything was prepared, cooked and served to perfection. You can feel Drew's experience as an expert fisherman and as a chef just looking at the plates he served us. And after you tasted those products that just came out of the sea (at most 12 hours before) you realize what is happening. A miracle. The best seafood you ever had in your life. Nothing more, nothing less. Crabs cought just a few hours before. Unbelievable. Plus the journey you have with Drew during the meal, talking about where he sources it, how it prepares it, how he choses every single ingredient. You can feel the passion from the man and suddenly you realize that he is also a great human being. It was a pleasure we would definitely recommend to experience to anyone, at least once in a lifetime. We will come back, for sure. Thank you Drew, from all our hearts.

The Perle Oban Hotel & Spa is a historic and iconic building located on Oban's seafront, offering stylish rooms and suites with bay views. The hotel features a chic restaurant, 1882, which serves grilled dishes and local Scottish seafood with vegetarian and vegan options. Additionally, the bar offers a selection of cakes, pastries, and barista-style coffee throughout the day.
The location of the hotel right across the railway station is great. Our room was spacious and very clean and bright due to two big windows. We enjoyed our time in this hotel with the lovely vibes. We also appreciated having 2 facial towels in the bathroom that were changed every day. The joung gentleman at the reception desk was very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for that. I wished the ladies were as friendly.
Nil — Google review
As locals I use the Perle quite a lot and as a tour company we have in the past placed business here. The location is decent opposite the Ferry Terminal, Railway Pier & Taxi Rank (unless you're a light sleeper and it's a weekend , when the noise and craziness happens around midnight). The inside is also nice and comfortable and they recently relaunched the Brasserie which is a nice airy space for dinner (although I've never eaten there). The rooms are also ok but could be better given the hotels 4 star status. Little things like having no fridges in suites and there's a lack of local Scottish design / fabrics. Perhaps the Indian owners could consider that next time they invest in the rooms. My biggest issue with Perle, Oban is the service levels. I've had some very poor experiences here (yet I keep persisting as they've got WiFi and lounge space). Last week I sat in the lounge bar for almost 90 mins and no member of staff engaged with me or offered to make a drink or if I wanted to order anything. There were 2 staff behind the bar and too busy chatting and not actually being directed by anyone to keep the place clean and offer actual 4 star service. There were crisps all under my chair and dirty tables from earlier but these remained as they were. Shortly before I was leave I counted 5 staff in the area (including a mgr ?) and they were also too busy to actually focus on their guests. Personslly I think I prefer Roxy's cafe for the staff , atmosphere a d quality of offering. The Perle needs an enthusiastic leadership team who support and direct the team to deliver great hospitality. It seems unless you go up to the bar and pay for a drink there and then that the hotel operates a 3 star experience. Overall ... nice public spaces very average 3 star service.

Stayed here one night back in October. As stated by others, super convenient to public transport. We reserved the room with a sea view and it was splendidly appointed. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable as well. We opted for the breakfast with our stay and were wowed by the beauty of the dining facility. The food was delicious as well, large portion sizes too. Only 'issue' was the repair on the front door to the lobby, requiring residents to use the side door. No big deal for us, and I am assuming it was remedied by now. Hoping to book another night soon.

What a joke on “luxury”. I chose this place for its spa initially - booked a massage and afternoon tea for my birthday. Came with the whole family. Our room was gorgeous and the hotel itself very beautiful but wow! The service needs a makeover. Reception staff forgot to book my massage. I was lucky and called in advance and they scrambled to find a masseuse last minute for a later appointment. The massage was great but the “spa” was underwhelming. At dinner we waited over an hour for my son’s chicken tenders and chips. Server had clearly forgotten them and his drink but instead of being honest said “they’re just coming out of the frier now”. Husband and I had already finished our starter and entrees. Tenders arrive super spicy - not edible for a 5 year old. “Oysters with mignonette” came with just a lemon wedge, chef had run out of vinegar and tomato mozzarella salad had no cheese as again, chefs had run out. Breakfast was sad: avocado toast = weird green smoosh on soggy toast. The concierge and servers also seem to work incredibly long shifts: we kept seeing the same people at work. When do they rest?! Overall, I would only recommend this hotel for its location and room views. No love, no soul, no attention to detail.

Right in front of the hotel you can not park at hall even to unlode the car ! It's a bus lane/stop! Front entrance doors didn't work so had to fight though the outside table and chairs to get to this small door with our luggage!! Thats after warking from the car park that you after pay £10 aday for which is 3 streets away (#) that's 1st point. Room we got the suite which is the biggest room in the hotel? There was only 6 hangers for 2 people, you could only just but coats in and 2 jumbers, 2 bedside draws only, a small cupboard that my wife put some of her clothes in! Mine stayd in my bag (2). Bed!! well what can i say didn't get a good night's sleep for 4 night, bed was lumpy, it was a big bed but you could only sleep on the ends because of a big lump in the middle(3) Room 214, who ever painted this room' must of got of the street. Breakfast Saturday sent back it was cold, sunday no hot food on!! has something had happened in kitchen?! But no phone call or not under door to tell us. This is a 4 star hotel!! It's was our 30th wedding anniversary only for our day trip and keeping our best foot forward it would been really miserable. As for the cost at £320 a night to have your clothes in your suitcase and not sleep well and Breakfast not up to a 4 star hotel' me will not be going back!! 3 star!! Just to let you know you facing the ferry port which it's first ferry is 6 20am plus other ferry all day and a strong smell of diesel though the day and in the see water.

Kebabish Of Oban, situated on George Street in central Oban, is a relaxed eatery offering a mix of Pakistani, Chinese, and Italian cuisine. Boasting an informal atmosphere and featuring a dessert counter, this popular cafe has gained recognition for its wide array of Indian dishes. With their emphasis on halal food and amicable service, the restaurant ensures that meals are prepared flawlessly and possess an authentic taste.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Delicious Takeaway Experience! I recently ordered a takeaway from Kebabish of Oban and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! I tried their kebabs, pizza, and curry, and each item was freshly prepared, full of flavour, and nicely packed. The kebabs were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the pizza had a soft base with generous toppings and just the right amount of cheese, and the curry was rich, aromatic, and had that authentic taste you hope for. Service was quick and efficient, and the staff were friendly when I came to collect my order. The food stayed warm until I got home, and everything tasted just as good as if it had been served fresh in a restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality takeaway food in Oban. Will definitely be ordering again!

Very disappointed. Never try this place please. The Zinger Burger is very overpriced — tiny chicken fillet drowned in lettuce and one giant cucumber slice. Calzone pizza wasn’t even cut. Total waste of money. I wish I could give zero stars — the food was not worth the price.

When we got our meal home there was only 1 doner kebab with no salad and our mince samosa. Our meal was sooo disappointing. The man was so rude we didn’t feel comfortable going back to complain. Would never go there again.

This is a take-out only restaurant with excellent middle eastern food. My family of six very much enjoyed their meals. The rice was aromatic, and the various sauces were delicious. The prices were quite reasonable.

Absolutely ridiculous i placed an order that didnt deliver after multiple contacts to a different company because im unable to contact them directly. After speaking to the delivery person who says couldnt find my address after enquing why he didnt contact me and requesting a refund they make me wait an extra half hour saying the boss will be in touch and i will definitely get hot food delivered i then get a email saying that no food is coming 2 and half hours past me placing my order and still no conversation with the boss.

I’ve had various curries in this place and they never disappoint. Lamb almost every time and they don’t skimp on meat. Freshly made so sometimes a wait but worth it.
