If you're looking for a lively and unique nightlife experience in Varadero, Snack Bar Calle 62 is a must-visit. Located right in front of the entertainment strip, this bar offers a vibrant atmosphere with live music shows and professional dancers that attract both locals and tourists. The road leading up to the establishment is even closed off at night to create a makeshift dance floor.
Nice place to dance salsa. We went on tuesday night via nightbus. There was a live salsa band playing. During recess, the DJ put mustly regetton (not my thing). I think we got a bit late close to 10 pm and closed at 12.30 pm. They also had a great cuban small dance show.

This time was better. Last year, the piña colada was terrible. This year, they are doing better. I only don't like the fact they haven't designated a place for non-smoking people, so if you are eating, you have to get the cuban tobaco or cigarettes smells. For me that's disgusting. If you like it. Then enjoy it.
Lisetica L — Google review
We came on our first visit in 2019 and loved it! Live music, performances everything! Such a great night. We needed to return & didn't disappoint, we had a great Saturday night. Amazing performances & great fun

Do you want to have an awesome night out? Do you want to hear great music and dance the night away? Then Calle 62 is a MUST do while in Varadero! Great place to start your party night. You will not regret it!

This spot gets very lively around 10pm on Thursday nights. It's a great place to dance and drink. Singers and dancers provide the entertainment.
Van M — Google review
Drinks that makes you feel gastritis (I'm doctor), horrible food, so horrible that the chef doesn't know what is inside croquetas; hamburger served as just bread and meat; I asked to add a slice of cheese and I had to pay double; I asked for tissue, obv they don't have it. At least there is a little of Cuban dancing vibe, but 1 star.

Great place for drinks and music! I really enjoyed going multiple nights! Lots of dancing.

Night club
When visiting Varadero, be sure to explore the vibrant nightlife scene, with popular spots like Bar Calle 62, Discoteca La Bamba, and La Comparsita. La Comparsita is an open-air club that offers live music, salsa dancing, karaoke, and amateur comedy performances in a colonial-era courtyard setting. It's a lively venue that strikes a balance between being a bar, dance club, and cabaret.

Went last weekend Friday & Saturday. Place was super lit, we had an amazing time. DJ playing spanish hits and some english hip hop. Mostly a younger Cuban crowd and tourist of all ages. Its like an outdoor terrasse vibe. Everyone was dancing and having a good time, i felt very safe too. We left drunk at 3am, lots of taxis outside as well. Im from Canada, make sure to bring pesos or be prepared to pay extra. Entry was 250 pesos i think & drinks were 150-350 pesos.
The C — Google review
I went on a Monday with my gf and it was very welcoming and very cheap. At the time 300 pesos for the both of us for cover. Past 11 it was very active so you'll still get what you want.
Ian L — Google review
Best place we found to dance in varadero. Most other places (Beatles cafe, 62, etc) were very tacky and playing awful English pop songs, but this place actually played Cubana music and was mostly full of locals
Charlotte P — Google review
Loved this place. I had one of my favorite concerts here (Cuban music). Nightclub music is very well improvised too. At some moment it started raining, they opened the ceiling and brought "let it rain over me" song. Unlimited alcohol + cuban concert + good clubbing music for 10cuc entrance. You don't need to think twice. Looooove it.
Aladdin C — Google review
Had a great time partying here. 10 cuc gets you an open bar and a party experience with locals and tourists. There was a live performance when I was there but once the reggaeton came on I had a blast dancing away.

Hotel
Melia Internacional Varadero is a sophisticated all-inclusive resort located on the beachfront, offering modern accommodations and a diverse range of amenities. The hotel boasts contemporary Cuban hospitality with luxurious guest rooms, an array of bars and restaurants, and a tranquil spa for ultimate relaxation. Families can enjoy the golf course facilities and kids club while adults indulge in exclusive services at The Level. With its prime location on Varadero's pristine sands, this resort caters to both families and adults seeking a peaceful retreat.
The service was great and Yaneisy was so helpful. She cleaned the rooms so good and every time we came in after she cleaned the rooms were sparkling. She made very cool animals out of the blankets and she is very nice! We are so grateful that we get to walk in to our room and it’s all clean. She is probably the best housekeeper that I have had at a hotel. Thanks for everything!
Alexa L — Google review
Great food considering Cuban standards. The coffee and alcohol are amazing. The staff are absolutely great, so friendly, kind, helpful and hardworking. Luxurious spaces in the lobby and all throughout the hotel. The rooms were modern, spacious and well though out. Some issues in the rooms regarding water drainage in the sinks and toilets, however this is not to fault the hotel. There are ENDLESS selection of various bars and restaurants. So many private locations to chill with an amazing view of the pool, beach and overall architecture of the resort.

I am fortunate to be attending the first session of the BioPharm 2025 International Congress. The scientific caliber of the findings being presented is truly evident. Scientists have demonstrated a level of excellence in each of their presentations. The presentations and debates were held in English and maintained rigorous scientific standards. Regarding the Melia Internacional Varadero, it is an excellent hotel—very modern, clean, and safe. The food quality is outstanding, and they offer a superb gourmet dining service. The pools look beautiful, clean, and modern. We extend our gratitude to the Hotel Managers, Amado Acosta and Darío Fernández, for their professional support in making our event unforgettable. Thank you very much.
Raúl M — Google review
Spent there an entire week. I understand they have two tier level system for customers, some "basic" and the other called just "level". I was on the "level" tier, but I think the only difference was that I had access to a part of the beach where others did not, but there was really nothing special there, same sunbeds, same sea view, same sand, same service. Another difference was that I had personal concierge who I could ask for any assistance. Beside that, my room was very cozy. Room service was good, room was cleaned regularly, the food was also nice and there was abundance of it, so you can never go hungry. The furniture is a bit worn-off due to the high air humidity, but they have people who are regularly doing the maintenance work and I don't really mind seeing scratches here and there. The hotel also has a good amount of entertainment for their guests, like the dancing activities by the pool throughout the day, and live music and singing in the evening in few of their bars, one of which is open 24/7. Anyway, this is a great place for the relaxation and romantic gateway. It's also family and kid friendly.

Rosalba is amazing. Great entertainment crew. Lots of fun. Beach is amazing. Spanish and Italian restaurants were quite good. Hotel service is hit and miss. But restaurants staff is friendly and nice. Claudia and Edgar at the Italian we’re amazing.

Had a great time at this hotel. The best parts are the views and the attention by all the staff. They were super helpful with anything we needed during our stay. The hotel was very clean and felt luxurious. The beach was beautiful and the food was great. Look forward to coming back with my family in the future.
Susel S — Google review
I've never felt the urge to leave a bad review for anything in my life after coming back from this place. I'm far from a complainer and was fully grateful for everything I DID have but, respectfully, this needs to be brought to attention. Where do I even start. I had recently came back from a weeks vacation with my family and it was far from the five-star experience we were expecting. Friends, co-workers and more were raving about this place so I'm really just left confused. Positives: The beach was very beautiful Negatives: My first room smelled horrible- like mold, the food was okay but repetitive and bland (I was expecting this so I wasn't too surprised), the wifi was horrible and non-existent at times (I'm dreading the astronomical roaming charges my family and I will be soon receiving), the front desk staff are unfriendly, painters were constantly painting everywhere (with oil paint!), very limited drink options at the bar. If I could highlight anything else though, it would be our Nexus Tours rep, Julie. She was so incredibly nice and because of her we were able to upgrade our rooms to LEVEL, just not until the next day so I still had to bare a whole night sleeping in a hazardous smelling room. While the upgrade was much much better, I still had ants in my new room, and my parents had some appliances that weren't working. I also don't think they changed my pillow sheets because I noticed the same brown stain just flipped over the next day. 100% not. worth. it.

Nestled in a natural cave, Cabaret La Cueva del Pirata offers a one-of-a-kind disco experience with its unique setting and natural acoustics. The club features a diverse music selection including Latin, reggaeton, and international hits. Once known as a refuge for Caribbean pirates, the cozy nightclub now hosts live music shows and Cuban dances.
Was here last year with my sister and some friends we made at our resort. They have a lovely show at the beginning which is very entertaining. And then after their show is done they open the dance floor and it becomes an open dance club. Definitely would put this on the list to go to if you want to enjoy some nightlife in Varadero.

If you're looking for an unforgettable night out in Varadero, make sure to swing by Discoteca La Bamba. This vibrant venue is nestled within a natural cave and attracts a lively crowd eager to dance the night away. The evening kicks off with an electrifying music and dance show that sets the stage for a non-stop party filled with infectious beats.
It was crowded both times we went. We stayed at Tuxpan hotel so we had free enterance. But if you came from outside it is also woth it because you pay 10 CUC bur you get 3 free drinks. Adriano DJ was amazing...So great show..dancers, electronic vilinist, robot lightshow...!!! All pople were dancing!!! Cubanos are very frinedly...DJ played sets of electonic music (T.Trumpet, Martin Garrix, D.Guetta..), reggaeton (Maluma, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee... cuban music: El Taiger, Jacob Forever... But I personally hear this music so I enjoyed every minute!!! Drinks are not expensive, not even for me (I came from Croatia which is not rich country)..I was disappointed that was open only on Saturday.

(Translated by Google) Place with Latin commercial music. You don't feel the Cuban atmosphere at all... They play, perhaps, 4 or 5 sauces for dancing and then all music that is of no use... Like the DJ and the security personnel (starting with the head of security), not very prepared when it comes to intervening, especially with Cubans who pick on tourists by forcefully taking them out of the club, I also witnessed local people selling drugs inside the nightclub under the eyes of the staff... Too much music high and impossible to communicate with whoever you it's close. Varadero has many more characteristic places than this one... I absolutely don't recommend it!!

(Translated by Google) The most fun place. Many tourists don’t know about it; you need to ask local residents, since this establishment is off the main road. Accordingly, there are cheaper prices and excellent music. You can order the minimum and dance all night. After this club, I went to Moscow to study dancing with a Brazilian. I really wanted to learn to dance like the locals. (Original) Самое веселое место. Многие туристы про него не знают, надо спрашивать местных жителей, так как это заведение в стороне от основной дороги. Соответственно, там более дешевые цены, отличная музыка. Salsa Suárez is a popular restaurant in Varadero, Cuba, offering a diverse international menu to cater to various tastes. The establishment boasts a plant-filled patio that enhances its laid-back ambiance and excellent service. It features an innovative menu with options for vegans, gluten-free eaters, Cuban cuisine enthusiasts, and those seeking international fusion dishes. Professional mixologists craft classic Cuban drinks at the bar-restaurant.
Salsa Suárez is an absolute treasure in Varadero! From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service made for an exceptional experience. The food was nothing short of amazing—fresh, flavorful, and presented with care. The menu offers something for everyone, but the "Roasted Chicken Cuban Style" stood out as a highlight—expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Their cocktails were the perfect complement to the meal, adding a delightful touch. Every detail at this restaurant reflects the team’s passion for quality. If you’re in Varadero, make sure to visit Salsa Suárez—you won’t regret it!

We ate at Salsa Suarez last week. We were a group of 6, with 2 people who required gluten-free food (celiac disease). The restaurant handled the GF accommodation easily, and advised what options would suit appropriate needs. While the food is pricey, the quality and flavours justified it. Everything was flavourful! We were all satisfied and pleased with our choices. The portion sizes were also quite generous! Among the menu options, we had: Ceviche Mushroom risotto (see picture) Empanadas Tacos Crispy shredded beef (see picture) Whole grilled fish Lasagna Carbonara pizza Cuban pork The pina coladas were tasty, as was a pink lady cocktail. We were too full for dessert! We have been to other good restaurants in Cuba before. We would definitely come back to this restaurant again.

Amazing restaurant ! Good food Expansive I ordered lobster (2 lobster come with two basic drink) for 42 usd and oxtail for 26 usd and an appetizer Total 89 dollars for two people. Definitely expensive restaurant in varadero. Btw one thing to improve is that Looks like the restaurant boss just stayed in the restaurant and working with a laptop. I suggest he find a room as the restaurant is for customers

Nice restaurant with great service. The food was good and a good portion. The cheese bruschette was the best of It. Drinks are excellent. Of course, it is a bit more expensive than any other restaurant in Cuba but they have a great variety of products. Better to pay with pesos than dollars. Also, the toilets were luxurious and spotless.

Just amazing. We are in the food business, chef background and the food is fantastic. Anything less than a 5 star review then you don't know food. It's off the beaten path and is not tourist trap, they cook with passion here. The servers are very professional and friendly. Price is fair for the portion, quality and presentation. A must go when your in Varadero

Blau Varadero – Relaxing, Fun, and Beautiful (Just Bring Mosquito Repellent!) Blau Varadero is a fantastic all-inclusive resort that offers a great mix of relaxation and activities. The beach is stunning, with soft white sand and crystal-clear water. Whether you want to just unwind under a palm tree or join in the fun, there’s something for everyone. Daily activities like beach volleyball, aqua gym, dance lessons, and live music keep things lively without being overwhelming. The entertainment team does a great job keeping the energy up! One of the biggest highlights is the staff — genuinely kind, always smiling, and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. From the bartenders to the housekeeping crew to the animation team, the service is warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious, the views are amazing, and the food is good, especially considering the limitations in Cuba. The à la carte restaurants offer a nice break from the buffet, and the cocktails at the lobby bar are a must-try. Now, the one major downside: the mosquitoes are truly unbearable at times, especially in the evenings. Even in the rooms and common areas, they’re hard to avoid. Bring a strong repellent and be ready to use it daily. It’s the only thing that can take away from an otherwise amazing experience. If you come prepared, Blau Varadero offers great value, friendly service, and plenty of fun in the sun.

Review of Blau Varadero – SELECT Experience via Sunwing/WestJet Overall Impression: Blau Varadero offers good value for the price, especially if you opt for the SELECT package, which includes access to the exclusive Chill Out Bar with premium drinks, late checkout (2 PM), and three à la carte dinners instead of two. While there are standout staff and some positive experiences, there are notable service gaps and food limitations to be aware of. Arrival & Check-In Night check-in: Friendly and welcoming staff, but no food available upon arrival and no welcome drink provided. SELECT check-in is slightly elevated, but more detailed explanations would’ve been helpful. Lobby is clean and functional, but the elevators are extremely slow, often forcing us to use the stairs from the 7th floor. One elevator was none working and stuck on top floor for 6/7 days. Everyone was frustrated. Room & Housekeeping -Rooms are clean but tad dated, showing their age. -Oceanview was nice, though not directly on the beach. Housekeeping staff were consistently excellent, warm, and attentive throughout the stay. Room Coffee/tea service was inconsistent — one room didn’t receive coffee until day 3, and the percolator for hot water wasn’t ideal. Food & Dining -Buffet & Snack Bar Breakfast: Basic selection. Pancake station had long lines, while the egg station ran smoothly. Hamburger guy by the pool had his good and bad days, the snack bar near beach was ok but could be better for food service. Never saw any hot dogs any time in 7 days and burgers were eatable but that's about it, never had onions the whole trip. Coffee was mediocre (4/10) and service slow, even in the SELECT dining area — 10+ minutes just to get a napkin or coffee, however the coffee station was always good. Wait staff at the buffet mostly focused on clearing tables rather than helping guests. No good bacon available during our stay, clumpy and fatty, not sliced properly, and not at all tasty. Lunch: On day 4, pasta ran out completely by 2 PM, leaving guests waiting over an hour for food by the pool. Snack bar at night: The biggest frustration — it’s not a real snack bar, just a basic sandwich station with bread, cheese, and occasionally a little chicken. Closes around 9:30 PM, leaving no food available after dinner, despite being advertised as open late. By midnight, the attendant was gone entirely. À La Carte Restaurants Italian Restaurant: -Disappointing experience — 2 of 4 dishes were unavailable the night we went. -Food was bland, and mosquitos were overwhelming despite spraying efforts. -We left after soup and one bite of chicken to eat at the buffet instead. Skip this Italian Ala Carte restaurant. International Restaurant: Outstanding experience — especially the “Gordon Bleu” dish. Requires proper attire (pants for men provided if needed). Highly recommend booking early, as spots fill up quickly. Service & Staff Standouts: Chill Out Bar staff were fantastic — warm, professional, and efficient, creating a premium feel for SELECT guests. Most servers were polite and hardworking, but a few were unresponsive or apathetic, which was noticeable. Some buffet waiters avoided assisting guests, focusing only on cleaning duties. Bars: Main first-floor bar was understaffed, with only one bartender before lunch, leading to long waits. Cleanliness & Maintenance Cockroaches were spotted multiple times near the 1st-floor elevators, close to employee access areas (possibly garbage or delivery zones). My friends room 7th floor in the washroom i was on same floor but didn't notice in my room. Bring mosquito spray for sure. Public spaces were generally tidy, but pest control could be improved. Additional Notes Sunwing/WestJet reps were professional and helpful, even though we missed the orientation meeting. Late checkout through SELECT was smooth, but note that there’s only one late checkout room per floor. Airport check-in lacked electronic systems, but that seems typical for Cuba.
J J — Google review
The Blau resort is a smaller resort but that means one gets to know a lot of the staff who all are so wonderful and always polite and smiling every time I see them. Tge rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning and hot water are also always great. The entertainment team by the pool are energetic and always have fun games and activities to do. I would recommend this Blau to anyone and everyone.
Brenda E — Google review
Blau Varadero is a stunning resort with an architecture that truly stands out. The main lobby is breathtaking, with live plants cascading from the high floors, creating a unique and relaxing atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The staff are warm and welcoming, and a special mention goes to Isabela at the main lobby bar - her friendly service and positive energy made our stay even better. Rooms are comfortable but a bit outdated and could use some modernization. The food is typical for Cuba - you’ll find good variety, but some basics may be missing from time to time. Overall, it’s a beautiful place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and feel genuinely cared for by the staff.
Gabriel B — Google review
Excellent stay! Ive returned to Blau Varadero many times. Special thanks to Lazaro on the Animacion team, always keeping everything fun. And to the bartender Donalla, my drinks are never empty. Highly recommended place!
Jay S — Google review
Overall great experience at Blau. Would be a five star if the food was better, as well as the wifi. One other thing worth mentioning is the terrible elevators they take forever and sometimes don’t even show up. Staff are very friendly and resourceful (tipping always helps too lol). I would also recommend bringing some bug spray as the lobby is open concept with a lot of natural plants attracting mosquitoes and other insects inside the building.

We were very aware of the food situation in Cuba however there should be a standard. The food was not appetizing at all. The room was ok with very little water pressure and it was not always cleaned properly. The elevators were slow only 2 were working. The staff was very welcoming and polite. The drinks were not very good and there was very little entertainment offered at night. Tried to play pool but the poles were so badly damaged. Overall i will not be coming back.

Hotel
Nestled in the beautiful Hicacos Peninsula near Varadero, Cuba, Royalton Hicacos Resort & Spa offers a laid-back, adults-only all-inclusive retreat. The resort features 5 restaurants, a spa, and an outdoor pool with a lazy river. Guests can enjoy warm hospitality, excellent amenities, and diverse culinary experiences. The Diamond Club provides an elevated level of service with exclusive access to a serene swimming pool and private beach area.
Me and my fiance had a very good time at the resort this week, and would definitely recommend this Resort despite what some people are saying. Food: Even taking into account the situation in this country at the time, there wasn’t a day where we felt that something was missing, or lacking in flavor. Dishes at the restaurants are well prepared, and there’s plenty of variety at the buffet ( even though you’ll find the same things everyday, there’s always the seasonal veggies&fruits that change: Service at the buffet was also very friendly, and at no point we felt that they were fishing for tips, and even though we know they’re greatly appreciated, at no point we felt that they were being forced on us. All the other restaurants had very attentive staff as well! We stayed in one of the renovated rooms close to the entrance and felt that it had the desired amenities, from a mini bar which is stocked daily, wine and bottles of water. The AC did the job and was working great, keeping the room cool. The only minor complaint is the shower head, that is stuck to the wall, but that’s personal preference. The staff was very friendly no matter where we went, so I can’t understand how some complain that they are not. Wifi is available everywhere albeit with slower speeds the further you are from the lobby. We had wifi in our rooms, at the beach and in all restaurants. Sometimes you disconnect, sometimes it’s slower but taking into account how wifi is in cuba, it worked well! Overall we’d recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a very good resort in Cuba, that rarely if ever has something amiss.

The Royalton Hicacos is a really lovely spot for a sunny vacation. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and just steps away from the white sand beach. There are a lot of activities going on every day, including dance lessons, Spanish classes, water aerobics, pool foam party, yoga classes, and an evening show. There are multiple pools, a jazz bar, a spa, and plenty of places to lounge and relax. In terms of food, you have to manage expectations - you're coming to a country that frequently faces food shortages and import limitations - the chefs do a great job for what they're working with. There are a lot of different options at the buffet and a la carte restaurants, so it's easy to find something for everyone. The highlight of the Royalton is the customer service. The staff at the front desk, housekeeping, bars, and restaurants were all incredibly friendly. Rene at the Diamond Club helped organize a day trip to Havana and a boat tour to Cayo Blanco for us, and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable.
Joy H — Google review
This Royalton resort falls far short of the standards I’ve come to expect from other Royalton hotels I’ve stayed, especially when compared to Royalton properties in the Caribbean. Everything here is outdated, from the rooms, beds, shower, technology and overall service. However, the housekeeping personnel did the best they could to keep the room at its best. During our stay, we became ill, and the experience was made even worse by the lack of basic cleanliness and comfort something both my mother and I noticed immediately. The buffet, in particular, was not clean, which is unacceptable at any level of hospitality. The room itself was extremely dated (maybe 50s), and the bed was so uncomfortable that I doubt even my great-grandparents would have found it suitable 75 years ago. Noise from the hallway and surrounding areas easily filters into the room, making restful sleep difficult. If someone has never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before, they might be inclined to give this place 3-4 stars simply because they have no basis for comparison. That may explain some of the inflated reviews I’ve seen. However, having stayed at other Royalton properties in St. Lucia, Jamaica, Havana, and more, I can confidently say this resort does not live up to the Royalton Brand. In reality, this property should be rated no higher than 3 stars due to its beautiful sandy beach. Seasoned travelers expecting the usual Royalton quality will likely be disappointed. A pictures worth a 1000 words, please see the pictures I posted.

Friendly staff, bartenders and cleaning crew. Shout out to Rodey Jazz bar best drinks and cool vibe! Overall great time and great place to relax. The beaches are absolutely stunning Just a few heads up There is no towel service for the beach on Mondays so you have to reuse the same towel The buffet could you obviously a bit more variety I said we all understanding the shortage I think the biggest thing that you definitely need to be aware of is the mosquitoes it's pretty bad so strongly suggest that you bring bug spray multiple bottles! Thank you Royalton!

Me and my wife had the pleasure of staying here this past week and we both had an INCREDIBLE time! The entire resort was amazing from the beach to the star staff working there. Everyone was so nice! We had the honor of having two great butlers (Carlos & David) an amazing server (Julio) and a fantastic maid (Ali). They made our trip so much better than it already was so I genuinely thank you for your services you provided with a smile. The entire resort was phenomenal and felt like home the moment we got there. It was only steps away from the beach and the pool. At the end of our stay we didnt want to leave! Tons of fun things to do both on site and off we had a blast. We will definitely be back to see more of Cuba and Varadero and we are both excited to see these amazing people again. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯

A Hidden Gem – Forget the Cuba Stereotypes! I stayed at Royalton Hicacos Varadero in January 2023 and felt the need to share, especially after hearing so many negative Cuba stories from others. This resort completely changed my view — the food was incredible especially if you’re a seafood lover like me (lots of shrimp, grilled lobster, and fish), the service was excellent, and the upgraded rooms were modern and spotless. Really nice evening shows daily. Our Diamond Club (a must in my opinion) package included a catamaran snorkelling trip, dolphin encounter, and a day island visit, with more food and drinks. There’s also an excursion desk for trips to Havana. If you’re looking for an adults-only spot in Varadero, this is it. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel in January 2025. The rooms were a bit dark and had an outdated renovation. Also, the water pressure in the shower was not great. However, overall, I was not dissatisfied. The staff in all the restaurants were excellent, and my favorites were the bartenders and waiters at the lobby bar – they made the best cocktails. The beach is amazing. I had Diamond Club membership, but honestly, I didn't see much of a difference. Aside from the beach area, there weren't really any extra privileges. As for the Diamond Club staff, I approached them regarding excursions, and they were quite indifferent and unhelpful. The food was fairly good – the variety is large, so everyone can find something they like. As for à la carte restaurants, I only visited the Italian one and wasn’t particularly impressed. The resort grounds are fantastic, and the sunbeds are very comfortable everywhere. However, the rooms and the main restaurant area are clearly in need of renovation. Still, I would happily return to this hotel.
Tina K — Google review
The front desk staff was very dismissive and unhelpful. The room was dated and the television did not work and I kept being gaslighted about receiving a working one, we never did. Nothing, except water being provided everyday, was supplied that was part of the diamond package. That was only after complaining to the front desk. You could see various points of disrepair throughout the resort. The food was not great at all, we had much better outside of the resort in Havana. The beach was beautiful and the butlers and other general workers were friendly and helpful. I would never book here again, I will spend my money with people that treat my spouse and I better on our next anniversary trip.

We are returning guests and had such a great experience this trip. We don't generally come during off season, but the food was great, never ran out of liquor, they invited us to a returning guests appreciation dinner, the manager made a point to say hello to us morning, afternoon and evening. Our rooms were cleaned well. Some are dated but that is to be expected. We stayed I'm the colonial section, which we love! All around, great experience. See you in April!

I left the new Grand Aston to come here, it was brutal. This is an older well maintained Cuban hotel in the best location. Room had a bottle of water, pool towel, clean, and a nice balcony. The buffet is ver good for Cuba and I enjoyed the 2 resaurants. They have new comfy pool loungers which is nice. I walker through here a few years ago, lobby bar was stocked, now very limited selection. Have Cuba expectations and this hotel offers no dissapointments unlike the BS I had at the Grand Aston.

Staff are indifferent unless repeatedly tipped for the tiniest thing. Public washrooms are disgusting: regularly out of toilet paper, doors don't lock and one toilet was missing the toilet seat the whole week of my visit. I met many people who said it was their first and last time staying there. I totally agree!

An All-Inclusive Resort right in the center of downtown Varadero! The meals, though were repetitive, had lots to choose from and were well made. Drinks (24/7) variety should be improved, service was very decent. Beautiful beach, such a clean white sand beach and the people were (mostly) warm and welcoming...Yemisi was full of smiles and always ready to assist. Met wonderful people, shout out to Heiku, from Germany! I will surely return..

Terrible experience in this hotel. You should literally beg them everyday to give you water, shampoo, towel and clean the room. The reception is awful, no one seems to care and it’s like they’re doing you a favour by talking to you. The water was super cold for taking shower, I told them the first day and they didn’t fix it at all. DO NOT RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY BY GOING THERE!!!!
Melika S — Google review
Definitely a 2.5 at best. The only thing going for this resort is the location and the beach. Service in the buffet area is virtually non existent and the food is always the same. The al la carte's are much better and the service there was good. The snack bar is tolerable although it seems more important that hotel management get the best selection for food and toppings over guests. You can certainly see the class management where managers seem to be above it all. Rooms are older and run down. Our door barely closed properly and the bathroom ceiling flapped in any gusts of wind. The room cleaners were very good. Our first and last stay at a Starfish resort.

This was our second visit to Starfish Cuatro Palmas. As always, the staff were super friendly and the service was great. Beach and weather were amazing (we went mid-may), food was typical but location is amazing so dining out was always an option. The beach grill for lunch and beach restaurant for dinner were our go-tos. Anelise in housekeeping was very accommodating and made sure our stay was comfortable - she is a very lovely person :) Ani at the beach grill was all-smiles everyday, super nice and friendly with great service. Andres at the beach restaurant (Spoons) was also lovely and provided great service with attention to detail. Orlando at the front desk was always a pleasure to interact with. Thank you so much to all the staff who made our stay memorable!

Show up the hotel to get my room and I had a request for a ocean view. I arrived here and then they told me they don't have much rooms available and they're sending me over to an extension of their hotel. Play send me across the road far away with only for me to carry all my luggage into some rundown old hotel but I think they might have bought for overflow or something. It had their label in name on it but it looked nothing like in the photos from what I paid for. The staircase I almost put my foot through it because the wood is breaking I'm generally speaking of the place is old and there's no food or any amenities in this facility so I have to take a 20-minute walk to find my way back to the hotel so I can eat every time. The bathroom came in a disgusting way and I don't understand why did this happen to me. If there was anything about false advertising this has the title of king of false advertising. I asked for a cheeseburger and I get a tomato 🤷🏽. Update: the hotel was willing to give me a refund for the days that I left and that being so I made a decision to go to an equivalent hotel that was considered a four-star which was called Occidental arenas which now I regret because the food at the starfish was far better and at least I had hot water and a working air conditioner.

Havana Club is a popular spot in Varadero, Cuba, known for its vibrant nightlife and diverse crowd. The area offers a variety of bars and nightclubs that stay open until 3 am, providing ample opportunities to enjoy the local entertainment scene. For those interested in shopping, Havana is a treasure trove of unique finds, from wood handicrafts to Cuban art and vintage items like rare jewelry and books.
I was here in June 2025. Amazing night. Doormen and security were great. It cost 700 pesos to get in and rum drinks were 300 pesos, only complaint is that the cups are too small, so drinks are strong and drank quickly, AND NO CRYSTAL! Big Bonus. Club is AIR CONDITIONED!!!!!!

This is the worst club I’ve ever seen. Super packed while 30 people waiting in line to get a drink from the bartender but wait time for a drink is 1 hour. They said there is no entrance fee but the security is asking for money to let you. Very disappointed & not really a good place to visit try something elsewhere.

I've been to many bars in Cuba and I must say this is the best one so far. Very clean setup very nice and even on a Wednesday night the party was popping 🍾. The disco continued after 2:00 in the morning we left at 3:00 or so

Post covid July 2022: They have completely changed the area around havana club and it looks better. There is a cover charge of 240 pesos which includes a free drink voucher. Thursdays to Sundays seem to be the best time to party. There seem to be a lot more locals than tourists but it's a good time and drinks are cheap! You can get a 750ml of rum in pesos. The conversion is about $10 to $14 CAD. Pre covid: I've been here during end of June 2017 and had a great time. However, end of Sept 2019 was not so great. I would ask the bouncer to take a peek into the dancefloor and see about 3 or 4 people.. during the "busy" time it's a good place to party and dance.
ReviewbyV — Google review
Gotta admit probably the best club I’ve been to in a while! I went last night which is (26/04/25). Yes it does get quite crowded like the rest of the reviews say, didn’t spill anything so thats a plus, for foreigners there is a second line for you to enter in on the bottom, (didn’t know that prior) cover fee was great priced. Music was great loud but good, the party didn’t end till it closed! Alcohol can be on the pricy end 500 pesos per beer and tequila, but if you stick to classic rum and coke, 1000pesos will cover 4 drinks which is quite nice, bouncers are respectful and help if you need. Drinks are on the smaller end but at least the bartender filled it nice. The bar is slow, but quite expected as there was easily 30-40 people at the bar at once with only 3 bartenders. For whoever is wondering, if traveling from any country other than cuba you do not need passport to enter, drivers license will suffice!

Honestly, the most fun I had while in Varadero, hands down. A great, safe and welcoming night club in Downtown Varadero. Perfect for tourists looking to get out and dance with some Cubanna flair. The drinks were strong, and affordable. The music was perfect for dancing, a bit of a mixed crowd of all-ages but everyone seemed to have a great time. Bathrooms were clean (though a reminder to bring your own TP!) The dance floor filled up quickly once people started showing up, and the bass was pumping a mix of modern and retro tunes. Honestly, just go. Have fun, drink, dance and take photos. Chances are, after you leave you may not remember how much fun you had on account of the rum! ;)

Super fun and safe nightclub in downtown Varadero. Went on a Wednesday and we weren't sure if it would be busy but the dance floor was packed all night. It costs $10 USD or $1250 pesos to get in which comes with 5 drinks👌🏼 despite being busy it never took longer than 2 minutes to get a drink. Doorman was super friendly and let us come in and out all night as we pleased.

The place is nice but like always if you’re local it doesn’t matter if you have a reservation, you I’ll see all foreigners coming before you. The service in general is bad and very segregated. It also closes super early and works slow.

The worst experience ever! We couldn’t get into the club. We’re foreigners and don’t understand how things work here! When we approached the bouncer, he told us he couldn’t talk much. How are we supposed to know how it works? There were two lines and a lot of people. We live in Dubai, and with all the clubs we’ve been to, we’ve never had an experience like this. To all the foreigners, don’t go there. No one will help you, and you’ll end up waiting hours at the door.

Thursday night price was CUP 300 for locals and 2400 for foreigners, if u had no local currency they charge $20, definitely too much for being in Cuba, then we left. Other people behind of us in the line went inside and we met them later somewhere else, they said it sucks inside and they left quickly too. Many people skip the line because they know security, that is ridiculous. Not recommended at all

Make sure to call ahead because it is not a night club on most nights. It is more like a bar, where you book tables with friends. It may be open concept and the music could be amazing, but there’s not always a dance floor. It was a massive venue though and it had a cigar room so the night was memorable and entertaining. The service was probably the best I had in Varadero.

Great music, from the 50,60, 70, 80, 90s live entertainment. Typical drinks at affordable prices. We spent an evening listening to live music, really enjoyed ourselves, some people got up to dance. Noise level was good, you could chat before the music started. Bathrooms are clean, and worked good.

We came here as we stayed across the road. The band is amazing and plays 90s rock mostly. All tunes everyone knows (or should know). The drinks are very steep Priced but it might as well as the service is so slow you won’t spend a Lot at all in a night. I ordered a cuba libre and had to reach for the Rennie after one sip. I didn’t finish the rest. The free rum and colas were a LOT better quality in my mid budget all inclusive resort. You wil notice a lot of drinks being left on tables and not being finished probably for the same reason. My advice: bite the bullet and order a can of beer for the top price of 5€$. All drinks are the same Price here but ordering a 2 liter glass of beer doesn’t work (i tried). If it was for drink quality and service of the waiter they would get a 1 Star but the music and friendly security make it a 3 star. It’s the band/ people who make the party here.

Horrible - went over the years and the service has become terrible to Canadians. Two different prices given to locals vs tourists along with quality of service. Server was rude and the drinks were awful. Looked like spit was in one and we counted over 7 drinks with no alcohol in them at all and we approached them and they never came back to us. We had a group of 10 and all 10 of us thought the service of the years has gotten worse

I've been to this place about 4 times in the last 2 years. I always had an amazing time listening to live music here. Drinks are really good and well priced. If you like live rock music, this is the place to go. It's outdoors so make sure you go when there is no rain in the forecast. I've only been there in August both years, and the band played from 9pm to 12am for 3 hours, non stop. Highly talented musicians and a great vibe at this location. I wish I had something similar where I live, but at least I get to enjoy it when going on vacation. Very highly recommended to go visit if you are in Varadero.

Atlantida Bistro Bar is a perfect spot to unwind in an open-air setting with a blend of Caribbean and Cuban cuisine. While it offers exciting local flavors, it also caters to those seeking simpler options like classic American cheeseburgers. Visitors have raved about the amazing dishes such as octopus, croquettes, and tostones rellenos. The attention to detail in their drinks, featuring unique spices like peppercorn and star anise, has left patrons impressed.
This place surprised me. The burgers had eggs on them and my drinks had spices that are generally hard to come by here (peppercorn and star anise)... the gin and tonic (as seen below) was one of the best I've had. The detail to the drink made it 10/10. Please keep the integrity of your drinks the same. I had a daiquiri and it was so cute/ good tasting as well I wish I took a photo. Overall I am extremely impressed with this place. Worth noting that my cuban husband also loved the spaghetti here. I will definitely come back. The prices are fair and the quality is so much more worth it than others in the area.

Absolutely top notch service, food, ambience... Santa Marta struggles with power outages but this restaurant is always open (till 7am😳😳) regardless due to having their own power. Staff are extremely friendly, attentive, always smiling, trying to help you in every way. The food is REALLY good, fresh fish with rice and various vegetables, amazing hamburgers with juicy patty, decent cocktails and beers. Nice touch with serving beers in chillade copper/metal cups keeping the beer cold without it condensating and dripping like with glass. Prices are more than reasonable. Flavors are exceptional, they have salt and pepper, tabasco if you like and proper seasoning, which is rare in Cuba.. I went at least 2-3 times per week during my month in Santa Marta, it's that good.

We went to this place March 28th and were in a large group. They accommodated and greeted us on arrival with everything ready. The owners are just fantastic and are easy to deal with. They were such a pleasure to have around and you can see their passion they put into the restaurant. Their manager of operations, Felix went above and beyond to make sure our experience at this place was a memorable one. He did not disappoint and was a blast from the start. The staff was incredible. Prompt courteous service by all members. They always had a smile, always willing to answer questions or talk about Cuban culture. The food was incredible!!! If you ever heard of Cuban food tasting bad, go to this place and the food will speak for itself. Prices in my eyes are very reasonable. The quality of food and service you get is unmatched to any other places in the area. Location of the restaurant is roughly a 10-15min cab ride from the main strip of hotels which is a nice touch. Will be going back next year when I am back in Cuba!!

Always had a great experience at Atlantida. The latest time we had the burger as well. Ceviche and some tacos. Everything came out hot, fresh and ready to go. Prices are good and the canchancharas were amazing

An incredible experience at this genuine Cuban bistro. Felix and Jorge welcomed our group with open arms and made us feel like home. Through my 10 days in Cuba, both on and off resort, no meal was as good as the one we had at Atlantida. I recommend everyone in the Varadero area stop in to meet the incredible Atlantida team and have a delicious meal!

Downtown Varadero, also known as Playa Azul, has a rich history dating back to 1555 when it was just a small fishing village. During the day, the city exudes tranquility, but at night it comes alive with numerous restaurants, shops, cafes and bars lining its seemingly endless streets. Visitors can explore the area by taking a tourist hop on/off bus or enjoy leisurely walks with plenty of dining and drinking options.
We took the hop-on, hop-off bus from our resort to downtown and then explored the main town area on foot. Our primary agenda was visiting the markets to buy souvenirs. In our experience, if you're looking to collect something at a reasonable price, you should do the same. The downtown area also has a few charming cafés and bars, along with some peaceful parks. The beach near downtown was just as beautiful as the private beach at our resort. Also, the open bus journey to the town was a memorable experience in itself.

Love it! We took the tourist hop on/off bus for $5 CA. Lots of leather good to buy- very affordable! Beach is as beautiful as it gets, prepare to end your sunny walk with a jump in the ocean! Lots of pretty spots to take photos. We took the horse and buggy ride as well. Not as many food options, may be better off packing your own snacks from your hotel, don’t forget your water bottles! It’s a long walk, not recommended for the weak kneed, unless you take a private retro cool taxi that waits for you- also affordable- $25!

I took hop-on hop-off bus from Melia Las Americas to downtown Varadero. Cost $5 per person. You buy full-day ticket in the bu . The area is full of cozy shops for a souvenir. Good restaurants as well. I got coconut from street with $5. You can take old fancy cars or horse cart for $5. Must go to place if you are visiting any Varadero Resort
Ahmad M — Google review
Quite and enjoyable walk with choices of restaurant and bar. Prepare your money in advance because some places only charge peso while others only charge dollars. And some of them offer good exchange rate than the others so it’s better to check the places before you go. You can only go to the beach on your walk. It’s amazing to see real life and nice house in Cuba as well.

Downtown Varadero is interesting spot to visit, you can find a little restaurants, cafes, shops & markets with souvenirs. I don’t like that streets not clean properly. City should care better for such interesting heritage place.
Da N — Google review
Plenty of places to visit including 2 markets the shops unfortunately don't have a lot to sell but when you consider how hard it is for the Cubans as a visitor it's hard to complain just enjoy the atmosphere and friendly people and the old American cars

Varadero shopping centre and market is great, lots of sights to be seen, plenty of shops and restaurants, market really big with tons of holiday souvenirs

The streets were clean. I took horse drwan carriage for $10 USD. Took the hop on hop off bus for $5 USD for the day. I learned they will not accept Cuban Pesos. Can pay by credit card if your from somewhere besides the US.

Benny Bar is a small, intimate spot on the beach that offers great cocktails and music. It's perfect for a relaxing evening with friends. The atmosphere is chill and the drinks are well-made, so it's definitely worth checking out if you're in Havana!
Drinks were delicious and finger food as well! Very reasonably priced. Quite in the afternoons and live music in the evenings. Servers are lovely and helpful. Spent a couple afternoons here, close to the beach

All very decent. Professional staff. Always a fun time. Local musicians are also around to sing and play. Mojitos are quite good too. I have been coming here for years and at least once every time I'm in Varadero.

Kiki's Club is a great place to eat Italian food in Varadero. The pizza is the most popular dish on the menu, and it's definitely worth trying. The prices are fair, and the service is excellent. There's also a full bar available for those who want to enjoy some drinks with their meal.
What an awesome little restaurant! The pizza was delicious, drinks were refreshing. Definitely recommend the pizza mixta, pizza primavera, pizza hawaiiana and a pina collada to wash it down.
James E — Google review
A small pizza for $20 USD is the same price as in Canada. Don't be fooled by gringo prices! In Cuba, be cautious—there are often two different price systems: one for Cubans and another for foreigners.
Harlem _ — Google review
First off I want to be clear my husband and I have been coming to Cuba for over the ten years. We have brought many extra suitcases of gifts and love the Cuban people. We ate here and when we got our bill it was more than three times the advertised price in our minds. My husband’s pizza was posted at 800 pesos and my spaghetti 450 pesos plus extra toppings 500 pesos . We had two drinks at 200 pesos each. The bill we got was pizza 2000 pesos and my spaghetti was 1750 . Total bill came to 4200 pesos. When i tired to challenge the bill they claimed that my topping and spaghetti veggie’s were extra. By our calculations our bill should have been 2150 pesos. I want to be clear, that we are by nature very generous tippers. The reason for this bad review is that while Cuba is going through a rough time. I feel that as tourists we have a responsibility to call out such dishonesty for the benefit of all. Especially those family run businesses that are honest and do not take such actions with tourists. Please choose another place to eat and send a message that as tourists we will not support establishment that take advantage of tourism in such a way . I paid the bill in full but will never again set foot in this place again. Thank you . Thank you.

We were staying at Roc Barlovento and decided to pop over to try Kiki’s Club. We were so glad we did. Service was great. Food was delicious. One of the best lobster meals I have ever had. Our server recommended the lobster with sauce so we both got it. I highly recommend it ! When you sit on their patio you have an amazing view of the canal across the street and might even get to watch some people fishing. We also had some little friends join us! Before you get mad that they don’t have something please do research about the situation in Cuba. It’s hard for places to get stuff. They might not have everything you want. Choose something else and move on.
C W — Google review
We went here last night for pizza and ended up each having a calzone. It was great! I love the way they cook the calzone with all the ingredients and put the sauce on the side. We had 2 calzones and 4 beer for less than 20 pesos. Honestly, you can't beat that. Our waitress was friendly and made sure we were good all the time. I would go back!
Lisa L — Google review
This is a must visit restaurant. Cold beer and excellent food. Service is amazing. Prices are mid range but on par for varadero.
Lori G — Google review
Loved the pizza! Service was excellent and very quick. We ordered 2 pizzas and pretty much brought one back to our resort to eat for supper. Nice to have a veggie option as they are few and far between in Cuba.
Doris L — Google review
Highly recommend. The restaurant has AC. A few flies but no mosquitos. I went for lunch and they offered spaghetti or pizza. I chose the veggie spaghetti (green peppers, onions and tomato sauce). It was really good!! But the portion size didn't fill me. I have a high metabolism, exercise a lot, breastfeed and eat about 2800 calories a day, so for the average person the portions may have been fine. It was for my mom but she normally eats bird size portions anyway haha. 3 plates of spaghetti and 2 alcoholic beverages came to $28 USD I only wish they had authentic Cuban cuisine on their menu!

Good place to get some decent food that is hard to come by at resorts in Varadero. The seafood platter is pretty good. One issue is that there are lots of mosquitos that makes it very uncomfortable, so they need more of those small fans below the tables. Service is on and off. The first time we were there service was great, the second time it was very slow and not attentive at all.
Sean — Google review
This place serves fresh seafood. It's tourist prices but the food was flavorful. We ordered the grilled seafood platter which comes with a lobster tail, whole fish, bunch of small shrimps, some veggies and a portion of rice. The lobster tail and fish was grilled nicely, the meat was cooked and tender. The rice was a good combo with the seafood. The veggies complete the meal. We waited a long time for our food while it was so hot and the fan was only making it worse by blowing hot air around.
Jose B — Google review
There is definitely dishonesty involved, conversion rate is way higher and prices as well. But overall it was enjoyable. I recommend going at least once and enjoy a different side of Cuba that is not the all inclusive camouflage.

Delicious bbq and pizza! The grilled meats were so so delicious and the pizza was excellent. We were able to take the rest of the pizza home and snack on it the rest of the night. The live music was fantastic as well. We will be back!

Cigar shop
La Casa del Habano is renowned as one of the top cigar stores globally, offering a luxurious experience for aficionados. It features an extensive selection of renowned brands such as Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, Ramon Allones, Bolivar, and the complete range of Cohibas. In Cuba, prices are standardized across all stores for cigars and rum. The store also accommodates both individual purchases and larger orders.
I really love this place, I really like all the people who are working there. The bartender at the cigar lounge It's amazing. I'm always happy to go there and do my shopping.
Zee M — Google review
Get your Credit Cards out! So, my brother is a Cigar Expert, and has his own Cigar Lounge in Canada. My mom and I went down with a list of what he wanted, and the "price" of which they "should be" on hand. If you are just buying one or two cigars, then the store has that option. But we needed a 1000 dollars worth of cigars, our MAX suitcase limit, to bring home back to Canada. The "Main" store, which will look beautiful (Eventually) is being renovated. So we had to go to the "temporary" one, which has way less selection. The ladies were very leery to help us until they saw that we were serious, and had the money. But we knew what the Cigar Values were, so they had no opportunity to overcharge us. Nothing is labelled "price" wise. We had to settle for different Cigar #'s which was fine, however, we were looking for the light ones. If you know your cigars, then you know what I mean. Also, looking at the serial numbers and that the boxes were not opened or damaged. You pay via VISA, in USD. They took "some" Canadian cash, but not much. This is a very pristine store, and quality is what they are known for. Locals can mimic the Cigar and sell you one on the beach and you would never know the difference....But our family does. So if you are in Varadero, and you are at the Plaza America, and you need quality, they offer that. Again, not much selection due to space, so have options, and/or your cigar expert on the phone to negotiate!
Melissa W — Google review
A trustworthy government-run specialty cigar (and coffee and rum) Boutique shop located in the heart of the Varadero resort strip. They offer a great selection of authentic Habanos cigars which are sold at the government listed prices. The professional staff are knowledgable and can certainly help you find the perfect cigars. Helpful tip, do some research on Habanos cigars before you visit to make the interaction with the staff that much more efficient for all as they often have many customers at once so the more you know the easier it is for everyone to get what you want quickly with no fuss. I’d suggest having a few different cigar brands and sizes (such as the very popular Montecristo No.4, Partagas Serie D No.4, Hoyo Epicure No.2, etc), and knowing their prices (most non Cohiba cigars are ~$5-$13 CUC, $7-$16 CDN, $6-$14 USD each cigar, so knowing how much you want to spend is helpful in advance as many cigars come in full 25 boxes but some can be found in 3 or 5 packs and the per cigar price is the same regardless of how many you buy...I.e. no discount for buying more). The ladies at the shop are great and will be sure to help you get the right cigars for whatever occasion and budget you’re working with. Enjoy!
Matt S — Google review
Those who give positive comments, are you crazy or maybe you work for this shop? On the box of Cohiba Siglo I it was written 140 USD, but the seller insisted that it was for one piece, and asked 700 USD for 5 cigars. Unseen scammers!!!
Branko G — Google review
Similar to every other cigar shop in Cuba. The staff were friendly and the selection was decent. They were out of Siglo VI, which was disappointing.
C ( — Google review
Buying cigars at this la casa del habano was like pulling teeth. It took three transactions to purchase the cigars I came in looking for because the staff member could not be bothered to do her job... sell cigars! On a positive note… The prices and selection--although still very limited--were much better than at the hotel
Joe C — Google review
The preferred LCDH in the Varadero region and the prices are spot on as per pricing lists available. If you are nice enough and know your stuff, you will even be allowed into the walk in humidor. I had a great experience here and was able to find some nice finds.
Danh N — Google review
Very rude and arrogant personel, ridiculous prices and stock in poor condition (dried out cigars) - but hey, you're just a tourist who can be ripped off since there's no other shop around. Can buy the same cigars cheaper in Europe and in better condition.

Brewpub
If you're exploring Varadero and looking for a unique spot to unwind, Factoria Varadero 43 cerveceria is a must-visit. Nestled in the heart of this vibrant area, it stands out as an ultimate Cuban craft microbrewery that offers an impressive selection of homemade beers. Visitors rave about the refreshing taste and quality that surpasses popular brands like Crystal or Bucanero. The atmosphere is lively, with friendly staff and a bustling seating area perfect for enjoying drinks with friends.
Great place for "craft" beer. Unfortunatly they currently only make 1 type, which i can only describe as a malty pale ale (not hoppy or strong), but very good quality, and orders of magnitude better than the standard beers you find in Cuba (which I can only describe as coloured fizzy water) The beer is a great price unlike most of the tourist traps in varadero. You pay only 80cup for 1/2 liter. They also do very good cocktails (the pina colada is better quality than el floridita cocktails although they don't do pina colada so hard to fully compare). Pina colada is 180cup. They also do food, but have not tried that yet. The bar is full of locals too rather than just tourists. Service is also good, some staff speak good English, and keep your drinks replenished Suggestion to the owners, try brewing a few other types, eg Blond, IPA, bitter, porter etc some are an acquired taste for make for an interesting drinking session when there are a few different types to choose from.
Ian C — Google review
Went based on the quality of my experiences there in 2023 where the service was very friendly and there was a choice of 2 or 3 beers, served in half litre glasses. This time for 2-3 times the price (350 CUP) I was given a small glass of a very nondescript light beer and staff were very uninterested in any kind of questions even though it was a quiet Sunday evening (mid Nov 2024). I got the impression I must have been overcharged given previous trips and disappointed compared to service received from other places. The food item (fish with rice) I had was nice and good value however
Colin N — Google review
Chicken and fajitas were OK. Terrible lobster, extremely oversalted. Final price for it as well as for all the ordered drinks much higher than in the menu. Asked about it, the waiter comes up with some lame excuses. Avoid this turist trap!
Katarzyna B — Google review
Nice place where locals go for a beer. They had only one type of beer - light 🍻, and it's good, the price is even better- 80 cup for 0.5l). Very tasty and creamy pina colada🍹 - 180 cup (just ask for a little bit more sugar).
Olesia C — Google review
The ultimate Cuban craft micro brewery. I tried a few of their different beers and the were great. If you have friends with you at your resort you have to bring them here with you. You will need them to help you drink the 5L tower of ice cold delicious beer that is only 13.00 CUC. That's right 13.00 cuc. Their beer is so much better than Cystal or Bucanero. Every one was very friendly and happy. The seating area was very full. Over a nice place for a few brews.
Tim Y — Google review
Great beer for a great price. The light beer, which seemed like a pale ale was really good. Pretty standard pale ale but was a good change from crystal or bucanerro. The dark beer was pretty good as well and had a different taste compared to most darks in Canada. Recommend visiting it.
