I felt like the last guest in a hotel about to close its doors. It was certainly a 5-star establishment long ago, but now it feels more like a 2-star service. The building is nice but hasn’t been renovated in a long time. Paint is needed everywhere. The breakfast is worse than what you’d find at a 2-star B&B, with lots of cakes and quiches that are simply put out again the next day. On the first day, I was really frustrated and wanted to leave, but the cancellation policy didn’t allow it. On the second day, I asked for an egg at breakfast (it wasn’t offered spontaneously), and I was given one. Bacon, however, wasn’t available. Orange (from the bottle) in a carton cup. If the croissants are finished: too bad! Come early. Other guests were complaining as well. I wanted to give 2 stars but my feeling of frustration doens't allow it.

Despite other reviewers negativity, we had a lovely and memorable stay at the Hotel Palace! The staff saved the day by arranging a private boat tour with a local guide when our original tour canceled at the last minute. Drinks by the pool, spacious room, plentiful breakfast. Staff also provided excellent dinner recommendations close to the hotel. They all went above and beyond.

Certainly it used to be a grand palace, I hope that my review will help changing something, because there is potential, but changes have to be made!

If we wanted a drink by the pool we had to bring it ourselves from the bar. To top it all off, the bicycles also turned out to have been "stolen", so we could forget about those too. Well, there you are, at the counter of a so-called 5 star hotel and even if those bicycles were really stolen, then as a 5 star hotel you would move heaven and earth to ensure that replacement bicycles (borrowed from a local bicycle dealer) where available the same day and no, they couldn't help us with renting a bike from a local rental company either. As said: 4 stars at most.

The bored staff first gave us keys to our rooms and gestured towards some kind of barn behind the main hotel building. We walked there, checked out the old, battered rooms (which wouldn't even lock properly!) and decided to "upgrade" to the proper ones in the main building. The upgraded rooms are mediocre and currently (11:30pm), we still cannot fall asleep because of the loud music blasting down from the hallway. Apparently, there is some elderly DJ playing god-awful music inside for no reason. I don't usually write reviews but this hotel looks well on its way to bankrupcy. The environment outside is run-down, full of weeds, potholes and garbage everywhere. At least the breakfast was good and deserves an extra star.

Aging hotel with lots of promise if the management can see that it needs maintenance. The sign out front is the first tip off. The full lobby and terrace should be air conditioned. Just needs an automatic door going out the back door. Free breakfast is basically good. Coffee needs improvement. Baked goods were excellent. Might be good to offer quiche as well and run til 10am not 9:30!

The restaurant on the beach is amazing. As a group we tried almost the whole menu. The fish is super fresh and service very friendly and flexible. Even though it is a large restaurant, management keeps strong attention to detail and service. Great wine list with top local selections.

Only stayed one night of a hectic bus tour thru Sicily but this was the best hotel so far. Nice big rooms and bathrooms, trimmings above the average. Breakfast had real orange juice.

It’s an OK hotel. The breakfast is nothing special, I’m missing eggs so much. Bedrooms are big but the bathrooms are a little bit outdated. Wifi is pretty slow at least in my room. It’s a huge hotel and it has swimming pool. Ok to stay, but not so good to enjoy. The city center is at 20 minutes walking.

Stayed for 2 nights due to a Business Trip. The Hotel is really really big. I had the feeling i was the only guest in that time. I enjoyed the complete silence at the nice and quite Pool in the "backyard" of the Hotel. The room was clean and quite. We had the misfortune of staying in a “deluxe bungalow” (it was actually a weird igloo, with a tiny shower and broken toilet). Music was played VERY loudly till nearly 1am. I mean VERY loud - I went outside and it was 90db - nearly 70db in the igloo and impossible to sleep through (I’m a heavy sleeper). I called reception and asked to turn it down a little so we could sleep. They said no - it’s going to play till 1.00 no matter what! Repeatedly asked to speak to the manager the next day. When I finally managed to speak to him, he was extremely rude, condescending and unapologetic. He said BY LAW they must play music till 1am if that’s what guests want!! It’s my problem if I can’t sleep through it! She said he’s tried to warn guests about the loud music before but Google and Booking.com “won’t let him”. So please be warned.

Bungalow rooms are good. Tho showers very small. Beautiful landscapes gardens. Nice breakfast buffet. Experience let down by the evening meal which was not very good and in an outdoor tented area. A green salad is just a bowl of chopped up iceberg lettuce 😆. Felt like an end of season situation.

Disappointing Stay – Wouldn’t Recommend We had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The biggest issue was the extremely loud music blasting until 1am —it felt like we were staying next to a club in Ibiza! Sleeping was impossible, and what made it worse was that the staff didn’t seem to care or take any responsibility for the noise. Albeit we did get an apology from the receptionist on check-out. The “deluxe” bungalow was anything but—dated and tired-looking. With a small shower and a noisy toilet. On the positive side, the pool area is quite nice, but be aware you’ll need to pay extra for a swimming cap, which feels a bit unnecessary. Overall, this place was a letdown and I wouldn’t stay here again. Definitely can’t recommend it.

My husband booked us a room at this villa after a boating day we took from the docks of Marsala. This hotel is charming and one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. He treated me to a massage the morning of our departure. My masseuse was wonderful and gave me the best massage of my life. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We had a wonderful stay here. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Rooms are impeccably clean, however there isnt access with a lift, it being an old building. There was no soap in the rooms, only shampoo.

UPDATE - following my below review on my initial experience the manager sought me out to apologise and to resolve the issue regarding my room. I was shown the bungalow and an alternative hotel room. The bungalow was cute and if I was travelling as a couple it probably would have been my preferred option. As a solo traveler the hotel room seemed more appealing. It was also very much appreciated to get a heartfelt apology. An additional note regarding breakfast; if you are looking to avoid carbs (not easy in Italy anyway) then fruit and yogurt are really your options (they had a bowl of boiled eggs but that didn’t appeal) I wouldn’t want an English breakfast (I don’t have those in England!) but it really was just rolls and pastries (which did look delicious) Booked a deluxe bungalow and was given this room (see pics) attempted to complain but was told they are fully booked and there is a plumbing problem with the bungalows (?) The receptionists response was that this was a superior room - it's a fold out sofa bed! Wasn't interested in informing me about the facilities on offer and had a general "not my problem attitude"

We had a great holiday in this hotel. We stayed in a bungalow with our 1 year old daughter and we had fantastic time. Service is next to none. Every staff member was so helpful. They accommodated us with all baby equipment we needed. Breakfast at villa favorita are just amazing. Pool area is well kept and there is a small pool for kids. Highly recommended

This was a beautiful hotel with a great location across the street from the Chiesa Madre di San Tomasso di Canterbury. There were lots of people walking around and we felt fairly safe. There were alley ways all around and every street was lined with marble. It was very quiet in the hotel. They have two small elevators for guests. We had a suite with a king size bed and upstairs there was a large closet area and another bedroom with three twin beds. Lots of room! The restroom was large with a shower, toilet and a bidet. They have breakfast for €7 or €9. Forgot how much exactly. We opted to forego their breakfast and instead go out to explore the surrounding area and grab breakfast elsewhere.

Don’t let the name fool you! This family owned hotel is a gem! Very clean and comfortable in a beautiful area.

Absolutely elegant and stunning hotel, right next to the impressive Piazza della Repubblica. We were lucky to stay in the suite which is huge, so tastefully decorated, and has comfortable loungechairs and a private jacuzzi. On the roof you have a pool and views of many historical buildings. The staff are very kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here if you visit the lovely city of Marsala.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The Dome hotel. It was such a pleasure to be one of the early guests in this beautiful building and to meet the family behind this exciting project. Their enthusiasm and hospitality shines through and we really wish them the very best of luck with this new venture. We were made so welcome from the very moment of our arrival, we had great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit and were even invited to join them on the rooftop for one of the events they were hosting. I very much hope that we are able to come back sometime and that the family chef (Guiseppe?) will by then perhaps have a public restaurant that we can eat in, which if his cakes and pastries are anything to go by will be fantastic. Our room was stylishly furnished in an attractively simple manner with a lovely balcony overlooking the thriving pedestrian street to the front of the hotel. One word of warning though! study the map carefully on arrival into Marsala as navigating your way to the hotel, tired, in a newly rented car through the increasingly narrow streets of the town takes quite a bit of effort, but it is made worth it by the warm welcome awaiting you.

We had a bad dining experience. First red flag: the menu is poorly designed and translated, the wines aren't subdivided by type. Second red flag: completely stale grissini. Third red flag: the complete lack of professionalism with which the chef replies to reviews here (but unfortunately we realized this only after). Only two wines were possible to order by glass (no prosecco by glass), one of which wasn't even available. Fair to say that we were given a third option by glass because of the unavailability. About the food, I don't know whether the chef changed or not, but I can confirm other recent reviews stating that the food is largely overrated and the pictures look nothing like the dishes we had. The balance of the antipasti we had was completely off: way too salty of a panella with a slimy raw fish layer on it and 3 drops of a sweet-spicy asian sauce that tasted like out of a supermarket product. The other antipasto had way too much chocolate for a savory dish. After the antipasti we received the dessert menu, because they either forgot or ignored we had ordered also a main course. This can happen, fine. We finally received the main course. Again, off balance, the multiple whole leaves of mint overwhelmed completely the seafood in the pasta. The attempt to make the plating worthy was unprofessional to say the least, with 3 dried out green peas placed aside the pasta. The other main had an even worse problem: a female lobster bearing eggs, which is heavily discouraged to be captured and sold to preserve the reproduction cycle of this species, which clearly the restaurant manager does not care at all about. We payed without even looking at the receipt to rush the end of this experience to realize only afterwards that they charged us a second glass of wine that was never ordered. In summary: dishonest, overrated food, no care for animal conservation.

Cool rooms with a decent breakfast, but the hotel doesn’t seem interested in fixing their internet, which didn’t work at all and which apparently hasn’t worked for much of the week. We stayed there and ate at their restaurant for dinner. It’s a charming hotel with an artsy flair. The location is perfect walking distance to everything. We had a balcony and lucked out with free parking too! We stayed for dinner that had live music and the food was very good. Breakfast was included the next morning and they had an impressive spread! This is a top notch property! The view and the grounds are lovely! The service is excellent. The restaurant is very nice with professional service. The breakfast was over the top! There are many rooms with lovely views, ours was a nice view of the back of the property, which while not bad was definitely not special. I am sure we booked one of the less expensive rooms though. The resort was definitely one of the high points of our 2 week road trip through Sicily!

Only complaint was servers consistently did not bring my coffee in the morning. Kept going it to wrong table and self serve coffee was not very good. I value coffee. Chicken dish at dinner was dry and under sauced. Side dishes were excellent as was dessert. Breakfast was excellent, especially loved fresh cut fruit. Lovely room and property. Would love a walking trail.

We were fortunate to be invited to a destination wedding held at Baglio Oneto and can't say enough positive things about this amazing place. The food, service, location and accommodations were first class. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience for everyone.

Stunning Views, Underwhelming Experience – More Style Than Substance The location of Baglio Oneto is truly spectacular—set on a hilltop with sweeping views of vineyards, the sea, and salt pans. It’s tranquil, picturesque, and hard to beat in terms of setting. Unfortunately, much of the rest fell short of expectations. Service was inconsistent and at times quite rude—I was told off by a young waiter for ordering a cappuccino at 11:30am, which felt unnecessarily condescending. For a five-star “luxury wine resort,” that kind of attitude was surprising. Our junior suite oddly had two bathrooms. It would’ve made far more sense to have one properly renovated bathroom instead. Neither shower worked well—the water pressure was weak, and the temperature kept fluctuating between hot and cold. Two poorly functioning bathrooms don’t add value—just frustration. The rooms themselves have a traditional, slightly shabby-chic charm, but they feel dated and in need of upgrades, especially if the hotel wants to appeal to a younger or international audience. Breakfast was disappointing—more like a three-star hotel offering. The sweet options looked nice, but everything else was very basic. And charging €6 for eggs cooked to order just felt cheap considering the price of the stay. Similarly, not offering complimentary water at the pool was another small but telling detail. Dinner at the restaurant wasn’t great either. My pasta was overly thick and poorly executed, and my carpaccio was oddly topped with whipped cream—still not sure why. The wine tasting was enjoyable, thanks to a personable sommelier and the chance to chat with other guests, but the selection (two whites, one red, one fortified wine, plus small nibbles) felt limited for the price. Would I return? Probably not. The views are beautiful and we slept well, but overall, Baglio Oneto doesn’t live up to its luxury promise. There are better places in Sicily with more charm, better food, and a much stronger sense of hospitality.

I stayed at Baglio Oneto in June 2024 and returned in June 2025, hoping for the same lovely experience — but sadly, it felt like things had gone downhill. There’s a clear shift towards cost-cutting: the room now has barely any teas or coffees (and they charge extra for anything beyond the basics), and even breakfast items like omelettes cost extra, which wasn’t the case before. There also seemed to be fewer staff around, and unfortunately, the level of service has suffered. Some staff members were inattentive, occasionally on their phones, and not particularly warm or welcoming — something I had noticed in the past as well. On a positive note, the pool area has been nicely upgraded, which was a welcome improvement. But the grounds — especially the grassy areas and flowers near the rooms — looked neglected and in need of care. It’s disappointing to see such a beautiful place lose some of its charm. What once felt like a special, relaxing retreat now feels a bit like they’re cutting corners at the guest’s expense. Hopefully, they’ll take feedback on board.

The rooms are beautifully appointed, freshly painted and decorated. Plenty of outlets. Execellent wi-fi. The staff are great-knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The resort sits in the middle of a wine vineyard. Plenty of privacy. Beautiful views of the vines and the sea. Buffet breakfast was enormous and delicious.

The Seawater hotel is a very nice and comfortable place to stay at. The spa is nice and we enjoyed the food. There is a special area to dry kite-gear overnight. Staff is very friendly, we would come back.

After a terrible "hotel" experience in Palermo, we found this gem! Best choice in Marsala! Spacious rooms, clean and good breakfast. We had a room with Seaview (view on the islands and sea). The reception is kind and informative. The breakfast has enough choice, and if it is something finished, you can ask for more. The service is good. We asked for sunny sides up (eggs), and the kitchen makes it especially for us! The waiters work very hard, and although their English is not the best, they do well to communicate and to understand. The pools are clean and nice. A must with the hot summers in Italy! The spa (paid) is a must!! You will feel relaxt and zen! Take a dip the salt pool or a massage or both :D The price is acceptable. Massage (50 min) and a special treatment (sallina - 20 minutos): €80. We stayed for 5 day's! We will coming back next year!

Room was clean and comfortable, but noisy as almost all rooms are facing the busy road in front of the hotel. Service was excellent, outstanding staff. Breakfast was really good and varied with also great pane cunzato. We did not try the spa because you have to book it in advance and pay for it. The pools were closed for winter. They have a great free private parking and are dog friendly. Wifi is good. It is located far from any place to eat so you need a car.

Very professional, friendly staff, clean and fresh room. Bathroom a little small but the room seemed recently done up. Nice clean pool area included in price with plenty of sunbeds (plus a salt water pool for €5 extra). The breakfast is good (for Italy), with boiled eggs, yogurt and cereal, juice and salami and cheese (plus the usual sweet things of course). Location is about 5 mins outside centre of Marsala but not a problem with car or bike. Very good secure parking for free.

I was a little worried after reading the reviews - but the hotel is actually a gem. Its location is perfect, just across from a swim pier on the ocean. It offers stand up paddle boarding SUP, as well as kayaks and bikes - all included in your stay. The pool area is good, although the pool itself is a little shallow but still welcome to cool off it. It’s family run, and they were very attentive and welcoming. Only thing was that my bath towel was a little frayed at the edges. Otherwise, it was great. I would give 0 stars if it would be possible. The property is extremely worn out, looks way worst as on pictures. The pool is tiny a surroundings ugly. The beach near by dirty. Nobodyf here speaks any english. We arrived and there was fire, there were burning pieces of the palm trees flying through the main entrance. It was a scene like from a movie, people screaming, running for their lifes. We ran away as we did not want to inhale the fumes and also did not want our car to burn. We tried to return the same night to see if the fire is under control, but we could not even get close to property as the street was closed by the police. We tried to get a refund for our stay but the property would not negotiate as they found it safr for us to stay. Terrible approach

Casale Alma is a beautiful oasis hidden in Marsala. The garden is luxurious, the pool is a haven and the house is welcoming and beautifully decorated. We wish we stayed longer. I went here on April 09, 2025 for dinner. I did not know that the restaurants in Sicily don't open until 7p.m., so different than USA. The seafoods I ordered was okay. It's actually kinda bland for me. The mixed vegetables were a little bitter for my taste. Both seafoods and veggies were grilled. Kind of bland for me. I use lots of herbs and spices when I cook my foods. The meat that the other customers ordered looked good though; maybe I should have ordered that instead. However, I just wanted to try the seafoods because they're close to the ocean and I don't eat those often in Arizona, USA. The cafe latte tasted awesome! The service was okay; nothing so special but I still gave tip. Welcoming place. I kind of did not like though when men were standing outside the entrance. I think they're chatting and smoking while standing out there that night. It made me feel uncomfortable as they looked at me when I went out.

Food is very tasty and fresh, meat (fillet) was excellent, and served nicely. Side dishes (salad, potato, etc.) were also well prepared and served. I have to say that the dessert, was delicious and really sealed the deal. Staff are very friendly, and seems that the restaurant have many local and usual customers and around (Italian) dinner time it becomes very busy, you will enjoy the friendly atmosphere and hospitality.

If you want to eat here and sit outside you should definitely make a reservation. We didn't so we were sitting inside where it was quite dark and the acoustic made it hard to understand each other.

We arrived a little bit before the check-in time so they have offered us to leave our luggages there in case we wanted to go to the beach. And that is what we did. Our first time here was when they were just building the pool, and we see that every year they improve on something. The quality of the wifi has improved over the years but still a bit slow. Bear in mind that he will make you wear a bath cap when you want to use the pool. The funny thing is: As soon as he turns his back, everybody takes off their bath caps and also ignores all of his other silly rules. It is not allowed to move the umbrellas, even if you promise to put them back in their place after you leave the pool and they close down the pool at 07:30 (right before sunset). It's sad to see how his employees (who were always very competent, friendly and nice) have to enforce his rules as they are the only ones who speak English. You can clearly see how uncomfortable and ashamed it makes them feel to have to discuss with the guests about rules that they don't understand / support themselves. We got the feeling that most of the other guests shared our opinion and were also very upset about his behavior! I didn’t mind as I really spent most of my day at the pool, kiteboarding, or being a tourist. The place is super clean, no trash anywhere. I stayed 2x and would stay again.

Not easy to rate. The property has gorgeous garden with great swimming pool. There are just a few rooms there so most likely you can have it for yourself. The host is great. There were some drinks and food waiting in the room while we arrived. The rooms are stylish although the paint peels off the walls in some places. But the property is located close to busy road in the middle of unattractive area. In addition to that there was no AC or ventilation in the bedroom while I could not open window at night due to noise outside.

The rooms are beautiful, gives you a royal feeling.. though in closer inspection its seen better days. There's no A/C in the bedroom. The gardens and the pool are very well maintained too. The only negative.. there's no fresh breakfast available. Though you book with breakfast.. all you get it choc croissants served when you arrive for the next day , and the rest already in the rooms. Toast bread without toaster, butter jam in the fridge! A no go for me when I book a room with breakfast. I just got a response from the owner/manager.. I stand corrected that breakfast is NOT included. True it is a huge suite for a huge price which I repeat has seen better days. The paint from the wall is actually peeling away n that they keep the complimentary chocolate croissants open without a cover, overnight , there are ants crawling around. Forgot to include this the first time. Not expected, when , as the manager pointed out we are paying this kind of money.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Marrone on our honeymoon, and were very well looked after by our host, Valerio. The accommodation was very luxurious, and we loved the pool and places to relax by the garden. We were able to pick organic fruit and vegetables in the beautiful tropical garden. It really is a hidden oasis in Marsala!
