Perched on a hill in Innsbruck, the Bergisel Ski Jump is an architectural wonder designed by Zaha Hadid. It offers a unique vantage point to witness ski jumps and provides a panoramic view of the city. The venue also features a viewing platform and cafe for visitors to enjoy. In addition to being a popular tourist attraction, the ski jump is used for training and competitive purposes, allowing visitors to watch ski jumping at certain times.
We spent a couple of hours here, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was awesome to see the skiers jump. If we were to come back, I think it would be great to have a reservation at the restaurant. The views were stunning.
Dave H — Google review
Came to visit the cool facility during a business sports trip. The view is fabulous and gives you the opportunity to witness a top-notch Olympic sports facility. I didn’t eat or visit the restaurant, and you shouldn’t expect much attraction there, aside from the view and explanatory signs. For the athletes in the crowd, you can make it an impressive 3km run with an 80m elevation trail from the historic town to the entrance, then an additional 250 stairs up! all the way up to the terrace. €10 for a single ticket, with a discount available for students. Please bring a card or a multiple attraction card for the city, or use your local hotel discount code. For more endurance sports suggestions, check out @triathlontrips on Instagram and Facebook.
Triathlontrips U — Google review
Such a cool experience to see the ski jump and the place of the winter Olympics. It is a very reasonably priced ticket for an amazing experience to go up to the top, see incredible views of the city/mountains and if you're lucky you'll get to see the teams practice their ski jumps which is an incredible experience to witness. They also have a gift shop and a restaurant.
Constantine J — Google review
This is an artificial ski slope designed by famous architect. Offers Fabulous views of the Innsbruck city below and the Nordkette mountains beyond. Turning around on the viewing platform, we could see the other side as well. On a clear day, it says one can see a span of over 150 kms. There is a restaurant on the top. Additionally, we got to see a few jumps as well and it was fascinating.
Deepak T — Google review
Went there on a whim on a Tuesday. It’s a bit confusing to find the actual ski jump from the parking spot which was 3,80€ for 90min. After we looked around for a bit, we took the gondola up to the tower and were fortunate enough to see someone practicing the jump. That was really interesting to watch and quite a unique opportunity.
Max S — Google review
Amazing views, architecture, and Tyrolean history We visited Bergisel Ski Jump in May, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Innsbruck. The ski jump itself, designed by Zaha Hadid, is a stunning piece of architecture. We took the funicular and elevator up to the top, and the panoramic views over Innsbruck and the surrounding Alps were absolutely breathtaking—even without snow on the ground! It was really cool to stand where the athletes take off—gives you a whole new respect for ski jumping. There’s also a cozy café at the top where we enjoyed coffee with a view. The visit also includes entry to the Tyrol Panorama Museum (not the Olympic Museum), which features a fascinating look at Tyrolean history, culture, and an impressive 360° panoramic painting. Tips for your visit: 🎟️ Combo tickets include the funicular, elevator to the tower, and entrance to the Tyrol Panorama Museum. 🗓️ Visiting in May was perfect—no crowds, pleasant weather, and everything open. 📸 Visit on a clear day for the best views—sunset is especially beautiful. ☕ Don’t miss the café at the top—it’s small but offers incredible scenery. 👟 Some light walking and stairs involved, so wear comfortable shoes. A must-visit spot in Innsbruck, even outside of ski season. Beautifully designed, educational, and unforgettable.
Artem P — Google review
The most unique place to visit in Innsbruck! You got some of the best views over the city while also having the opportunity to go to the top of a ski jump. Both the perspective from the bottom of the jump and the top are really cool. Don't forget that 1 floor below the top Observatory, you can have a top to bottom view of the launch station of the ski jump, which is really cool but can easily be overlooked. I really loved visiting this place, the cable cart from bottom to the top and the little museum are also nice little extras (all included in 1 ticket). There is also a small forest around the ski jump accessible from the carpark which has a nice hike and gives you some nice views of the ski jump tower and the surrounding area. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Julien W — Google review
Excellent views of the city!! You can enjoy the restaurant at the top. It's covered with an Innsbruck card, and you can use a sightseeing bus to reach here.

The Golden Roof is a renowned Gothic oriel in Innsbruck, adorned with 2657 fire-gilt copper tiles that give it its name. Originally built for Emperor Maximilian and his wife to observe events below, it now houses a museum chronicling Innsbruck's history. The exterior is particularly impressive, featuring murals and intricate designs, while the museum offers an insightful look into the city's past.
The Goldenes Dachl or Golden Roof is a landmark structure located in the Old Town part of Innsbruck, Austria. It is a famous plaza of the city. This was completed in 1500 century. It was decorated with 2,000 plus copper tiles for the Emperor at that time. The Emperor and his wife used the balcony to observe festivals, tournaments, dancing, and other events that took place in the plaza below. Up to this day, the plaza is being used for basking, dancing, and events. It's us a nice walk around the plaza with the varieties of shops.

The golden roof of Innsbruck is a fun little thing to see and is in a beautiful part of the old town. There’s lots of good shopping and restaurants around here that make for a fun outing or a good walk from your hotel. It’s worth seeing this too since it’s an iconic part of Innsbruck.
Benjamin M — Google review
The Golden Roof in Innsbruck is a captivating sight! Its shimmering gold tiles make it a stunning backdrop for photos, especially under sunlight. A perfect spot for a leisurely stroll and soaking in the historic charm of the old town. A must-visit for unforgettable memories.
Tongz N — Google review
A beautiful city with stunning mountain views. The cityscape is always set against a backdrop of mountains, which makes it truly picturesque. Everything is very charming, with plenty of restaurants and shops all around.
Yigal R — Google review
The Golden Roof is Innsbruck’s most famous landmark, a late Gothic balcony built in 1500 for Emperor Maximilian I and decorated with 2,657 gilded copper tiles. It’s an impressive piece of history and a symbol of the city, though the small size can feel a bit underwhelming compared to its fame. Worth a look while wandering the Old Town, especially for the historical significance, but don’t expect a grand spectacle.
E P — Google review
Golden roof tells the story of History. Innsbruck is full of colours and lot of stories. The way they protected golden roof till yet and old and beautiful streets are Amazing.
Manasi D — Google review
A must-see in Innsbruck! The Golden Roof is the city’s iconic landmark. Its 2,657 fire-gilded copper tiles still shine brilliantly after centuries! Built by Emperor Maximilian I to celebrate his wedding, it’s not just stunning outside — the museum inside offers a fascinating glimpse into imperial history. The mix of Gothic and early Renaissance architecture is beautiful, and the detailed reliefs bring the past to life. A perfect stop to experience the spirit of old Austria.

Golden Roof is considered Innsbruck’s most famous symbol. It’s at one end of Maria Teresa Street, which is usually full of tourists, shops, and restaurants.

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Nestled on the mountainside, Alpenzoo Innsbruck - Tirol is a conservation-focused zoo showcasing rare Alpine birds and animals, including wolves and golden eagles. Situated over 700 meters above sea level, it boasts a diverse collection of over 2,000 species such as bears, bison, otters, and more. Visitors can reach the zoo by climbing the hill or taking a trip on the Hungerburgbahn train.
A nice visit with kids when you are in town. The zoo has a good size for various animals in the region. You can simply finish the entire zoo in a couple of hours. There are actually plenty of interesting animals. All the descriptions are just written in German. So if you can't read German, get your Google Translate ready!
Preeyakorn P — Google review
Nice small zoo up lower area of the mountain. The crowd was less in the afternoon and my kid enjoy the playground in the zoo. There are mixture of birds and animals so it is easy to navigate around and visit this zoo. Only thing is reaching the zoo, either by driving or like us as tourists which we took the train instead.
Kenneth K — Google review
Great attraction up the mountain in Innsbruck. The animals were clearly very hot during a scorching August day, but the zoo did not disappoint. We brought our stroller which is recommended given a lot of walking required. Included in the Innsbruck card.
Madeline C — Google review
Some animals were cooped up in too small cages… on the other hand, some animals would already be extinct if it hadn’t been for zoos’ breeding programs.. So it’s a bit double. We enjoyed the visit but it would be a good thing if the cages of some of the bigger animals would be extended!
Hans S — Google review
Bigger than expected but a lot of empty cages. Built on a steep hill so be prepared to walk up and down hills. Having said that, there are some highlights; the brown bear, the alpine ibex, vultures, bison and wild boars. Add the zoo to your cable car trip for an extra €5. Recommend a walk to the the top of the foxes area where you can have an ice cream, swing on a wooden hammock and take in the views of Innsbruck.
John L — Google review
Great little zoo up in the hills. Nice to get up close with some of the animals. Brought the toddler there who wanted to nap so I had more fun. Love that the Moose stopped, looked at me, squat and pee’d whilst making eye contact with me 😂 Took the W bus from the town. Quick and efficient, easy to plan return trip as it came to the zoo every 30 mins.
J D — Google review
Great day out at the zoo! We had a blast on a rainy day in Innsbruck. The Vultures and the Bison were out fave. Plus the all the snakes were amazing! Good job and can recommend. 10/10
Reuben D — Google review
Great zoo with interesting ways of presenting the animals like open cages-you can actually have an eagle flying over your head. It seems that there was a lot of thinking in celreating each animal with the space that will suit it best

The Tirol Panorama and Kaiserjäger Museum in Innsbruck is a captivating blend of history, art, and culture. The museum showcases the military history of Tyrol and features the Kaiserjägermuseum, which narrates the story of the Austrian Imperial Army's infantry regiments from 1815 to 1918.
Very special museum. The main attraction, as the name implies is a large circular panoramic picture of a battle that took place there many years ago. With a bit of fantasy and a soundtrack for your inner ear, you can really be immersed in the experience.
Peter J — Google review
Wonderful place. Suggest buying combo tickets for the museum + Bergisel and consider the working hours to make it in time to see both.
Nicolae M — Google review
A Fascinating Dive into Tyrolean Identity and History The Tyrol Panorama Museum is a must-visit if you’re in Innsbruck and want a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural and historical roots. The highlight is the impressive 360° cyclorama—a massive panoramic painting that vividly depicts the 1809 Tyrolean Rebellion against Napoleon’s forces. It's immersive and powerful, offering a unique storytelling format you won’t find in typical museums. Beyond the panorama, the museum features well-curated exhibits that explore Tyrolean identity—covering military history, religion, daily life, and alpine culture. The design is modern and spacious, and everything is well-labeled in both German and English. Tips for your visit: 🗺️ Located right next to the Bergisel Ski Jump—easy to combine both in one visit. 🎟️ Admission to the Tyrol Panorama Museum is included with Bergisel combo tickets. 🕰️ Plan about 1–1.5 hours to explore the museum at a relaxed pace. 🧒 Family-friendly and engaging for kids thanks to interactive displays. 📸 Outside, you’ll find great photo ops of Innsbruck and the mountains—don’t miss the terrace view. I highly suggest buying combo tickets for both the Tyrol Panorama Museum and Bergisel Ski Jump. It’s more convenient and often better value. Also, be sure to check their opening hours ahead of time and plan your visit so you have enough time to see both attractions comfortably in one day. A great mix of art, history, and regional pride—well worth a stop whether you're a history buff or just curious about Tyrol’s unique past.
Artem P — Google review
Worth a visit! It's on the same ticket as the Folk Museum + Church. The panorama really is cool and I learned a lot about the history of Tyrol from the 1700s onward.
Irina D — Google review
I am usually a great lover of military museums but I would have to agree with another reviewer, I probably would come here if you had other locations or activities nearby you were doing.
Sam S — Google review
A must to see place in Innsbruck. The panoramic view is good... the new extension and the arrangements are simply the best.

A new attraction celebrating an important Napoleonic battle. An amazing 360 degree panoramic painting. A small exhibition attached. Worth doing if you have free entry with the Innsbruck Card and are passing on the sightseer bus, otherwise not worth the trip on its own.

Schloss Ambras Innsbruck is a late Renaissance castle turned national museum that was once the headquarters for the Austrian Archduke Ferdinand II. The Spanish Hall, famous for hosting classical music concerts, is a highlight of this Renaissance castle. Visitors can explore a vast collection of weapons and armor as well as art treasures including paintings and sculptures. Surrounding the castle is a sprawling English garden offering impressive views.
This is a great place to visit! While I wish more impf it was still in it's original state, if you love history, museums, and information then this is for you. Easy to spend hours reading about everything on display, and exploring the grounds. I only wish the special exhibition had been open when I went.
Merecia L — Google review
Accesible price for so many things to see and learn. It is absolutelly beautiful to learn the history not only of Österreich but also of Europe. The only recommendation is to put a stronger lights in some halls as the letters are very small and the light is bad for reading. Btw. I loved the 80c coffee in the ticket office. The lady there is very kind and helpfull.
Nady N — Google review
The palace is more like a portrait gallery. The place is very peaceful. If you read everything, it takes like 3 to 4 hours to see everything. The parking only takes coins. It is cheaper the ticket if you buy it online.
Mike P — Google review
Great museum, pretty place. Parking is a little overpriced and inconvenient, since you have to pay for parking before your visit when you can't estimate the time you would want to spend there. We had to go back multiple times to prolong parking, since parking app doesn't work well with international phone numbers.
Olga K — Google review
I haven't seen the castle itself, but its beautiful garden is a great place to spend an afternoon with friends. There's a lot to explore and enjoy. It is free to visit the garden.
Elham A — Google review
Overall, it was an average experience. The castle has a museum full of murals and wall paintings of the royal family. It gets boring after a while to keep looking at them. The garden around the castle is very green and picturesque!
Krishan C — Google review
Pretty good place to spend few hours. Access is available to 2 buildings. Nice big park around the castle. Free entry with the Innsbruck Card.
Kyrylo S — Google review
An absolute jewel and highlight of the Innsbruck visit. This famous Habsburg castle is a unique renaissance exemplar, housing a stunning personal collection of “curiosities” and some of the most famous Habsburg portraits. While a bit out of town, castle can be easily accessed by public bus, available every 7 minutes. Don’t miss it! 1,5hours is enough for the visit. But add some time to just relax in the park or have a snack and coffee in the courtyard cafe.

Observation Decks & Towers
The Stadtturm is a historic watchtower located in the Old Town district of Innsbruck, Austria. Built in the 1400s, this medieval tower features an observation deck and a distinctive copper-clad onion dome. Standing at almost 60 meters tall, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape and surrounding attractions, including the Nordkette mountains. Visitors can climb 133 steps to reach the top and marvel at the picturesque vistas.
Got the Innsbruck Card, which made going to all the attractions easy. The staircase is a double helix, pretty cool. Easy to get to the top to enjoy the panorama view of the city.
Nusara K — Google review
We were walking around Innsbruck and saw the fire tower and decided to walk up the 51 meters to get a view of the city. Walked up and you have to pay 4:50 for a ticket then walk up a flight of stairs and then insert your ticket into the turnstile. You then climb around 160 stairs to the top. The view is pretty go and it gives you a good Birds Eye view of the city 360 degrees. It was ok I’d do it again.
M H — Google review
The view is definitely amazing for the entrance fee, which was 10 euro as compared to any other adventure cost in the city. However, I caution you, one has to climb almost 10 floors of spiraling staircase with dim lights which can be scary for many and exhausting. I wasn't aware of this and it was a bit scary for me especially returning back. No lifts or shortcuts here which is scary if you get hurt or in case of emergency.
Archana A — Google review
The ticket shop is located on the 2nd floor. Family ticket is available too. We climbed the steel spiral stairway to the top, while resting in-between. The view of innsbruck is fabulous and you can view Golden Roof building from here. There is also pay to use binoculars. The outdoor viewing platform's space is tight, so it is tricky if there are more people. You can use the same entrance ticket to enter the toilet located at ground level.
Murphy C — Google review
The view from Stadtturm in Innsbruck is absolutely incredible — you can see the whole city and the beautiful surrounding mountains. The climb to the top requires some effort, as there are many stairs to climb, but it’s definitely worth it. Also, the ticket price is cheaper for students, which makes the visit even better. If you enjoy panoramic views and don’t mind a bit of a workout, Stadtturm is a must-see!
Denkop — Google review
A great spot to get a view over the old town of Innsbruck! The ticket shop is on the 2nd floor, then there is a spiral staircase that takes you up to the 360 degree balcony viewing deck. We used our Innsbruck card to get in, and spent about 15 minutes admiring the view. There’s area around the entrance is currently under construction but there are signs making it clear where to enter.
Madeline K — Google review
Perfect views of The Golden Roof and the city. Well worth the effort to charge up the winding staircase.
James H — Google review
A must to visit in Innsbruck. You got to climb a spiral staircase about 9 floors up and down. At the viewing deck it's a spectacular view of the surrounding and the mountains. Best to go on a clear day.

Museums
Historical landmark
The Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, located in Innsbruck, is a treasure trove of traditional artifacts displayed within the historic walls of a former Franciscan monastery. As you wander through its period rooms, you'll encounter an eclectic mix of wooden saints, hand-painted antique furniture, and intricately carved cowbells. The museum boasts an extensive collection of traditional costumes that offer a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage.
I absolutely loved visiting both parts this museum: the Hofkirche and the folk museum. The history and beauty of the Hofkirche’s interior stand in sharp contrast to its plain facade. Stunning! The Stube/parlor period rooms, some dating back over 500 years, are incredible. The cultural artifacts in the rest of the museum are so unique and interesting that I could have spent hours reading all of the descriptions (which are thankfully written in German and English) but my partner (who goes through museums much more quickly than I do) was already killing time in the little cafe in the lobby, waiting for me. (Oh, the things we both do for love.) To make a long story short, this church and museum are not to be missed!!!
Scott K — Google review
A nice museum attached to the Hofkirche. We got a combination ticket to see both, and spent about an hour in the museum. The displays were interesting and identification signs were written in German and English. As part of the museum you can get into the top of the Hofkirche to get a unique overhead view of Maximillian’s tomb.
Madeline K — Google review
Wonderful museum!! It features a museum, a church and a pretty cloister with a fountain and statue. We spent a couple of hours here. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the paper guide for the church was very thoughtful and informative! Definitely recommend!
Kai T — Google review
Wonderfully curated museum. We only had a day to spend in Innsbruck and this museum was worth two hours of our day! So much interesting stuff to see, but the highlight was the 14 reconstructed Stuben which really made you feel like you're inside small alpine houses!
Barbora O — Google review
Connected to the Church Court, combined ticket available at a lower price. Very nice, with folkloristic objects and scenarios. There was also a great exposition included in the ticket that we truly appreciated.
Chiara P — Google review
Very good museum for a rainy day. The combo ticket for 12 euros covers 5 different locations but unfortunately we only had time to do the museum and the church. Both were awesome! As everyone is saying make sure to download the Audioguide on your phone and bring headphones if you can. Also the gift shop had some pretty awesome books!
Kayla L — Google review
Small museum in the old town of Innsbruck. With exhibits of local crafts. The facilities and staff were excellent. Not crowded a nice break from the city.
Malcolm A — Google review
I loved this! If you can only do one thing in Innsbruck, visit this museum. A huge collection of traditional Tyrolean home interiors (whole rooms), tools, household items, furniture, painted wood, games, costumes, clothing and accessories, photographs: work in wood, metal, leather, bone, glass. The details of decorations in all forms are outstanding. From the garden there is a series of rooms with an audio visual presentation about Maximilian's life in languages one following the other (probably every 5 mins). When you get to the church, you understand his burial location. This is good for children as well.

Hofburg Innsbruck is a grand imperial palace located in the heart of Innsbruck's historic center, showcasing the opulence and influence of the Habsburg dynasty. This 16th-century Renaissance and Baroque residence boasts lavish interiors adorned with frescoes, offering a glimpse into the power and artistic tastes of its former inhabitants.
One of the best museum/church tour presentation. Super engaging and informative, appealing to all ages. Then the actual church where the cenotaph lies, every inches cries out the grandeur of old holy roman empire richness. Don’t miss out this visit

Absolutely amazing. Very large and in the center of the city. Really a must in Innsbruck. The only bad part is that they don’t allow you to take pictures, not even with phones. Other than that, amazing

a medieval building expanded and renovated on the baroque style from the 18th century but still holds gothic parts. the building contains imperial apartments, special exhibition on Emperor Max 1, painting gallery and the impressive Giant Hall with princes and princess's paintings alongside the chapel.

Bad experience regarding the tickets. The Kaiser apartments are 9.5€ only, but the only tickets that we were sold were combined tickets at 20€. The baroque exhibition and Maximilian 1 are not interesting. Please do not make the same mistake and ask for the Kaiser appartement only.

Beautiful palace. Family that ordered built had a very good and timeless taste for decoration. Down one star because they don’t allow you to take pictures when there is so many already around on the internet.

The Hofburg is a former Habsburg palace, considered one of the three most important cultural buildings in the country, along with the Hofburg and Schönbrunn Palaces in Vienna. The Hofburg is the main building of a large residential complex that was once used by the Habsburgs. This palace hosted Maximilian, Maria Tetrezia and Elisabeth-Sisi. The exterior is beautiful and imposing. Unfortunately, there was not enough time for a guided tour.
Bogdan M — Google review
One of the ugliest museography I've ever seen. My visit to the Hofburg in Innsbruck left me with a bitter taste. I had expected an immersion into a place steeped in history, where the walls, objects, and scenography would converse to tell the story of the imperial past and the grandeur of the Habsburgs. Instead, I was confronted with a museum display lacking substance, where spectacle seemed to have taken precedence over historical respect. The modern arrangements, often clumsy, felt imposed without regard for the palace’s heritage dimension. The visual desecration through an overloaded and even kitsch aesthetic drained the spaces of their original majesty. It was a museographic cacophony, where excessive theatricality concealed a real narrative void. To me, this approach is symptomatic of a certain progressive ideology (dominating in Innsbruck...) where the drive for modernity and accessibility sometimes overwhelms the subtlety and solemnity required to preserve such an exceptional heritage. Respecting history, far from being rigid or backward-looking, requires a nuanced understanding of the dialogue between past and present—a dialogue that, unfortunately, has been broken here. The Hofburg deserved a more sober, more respectful approach, and above all, one that remains faithful to its spirit. A missed opportunity, leaving behind the feeling of squandered potential. (And look at the beautiful building they élevated just in front of the Hofburg ...)
Sans S — Google review
Photos and videos are not allowed in the museum and there are quite a few staff around to enforce it. It was interesting to learn about the history of Maria Theresa, how she loved her husband so much that she had his night clothing made into robes for the religious leaders to wear after his passing. The paintings in the family hall/giant hall were exquisite! There was no audio guide available when we went, perhaps the guide was being redeveloped, as we saw numbers with the headphone symbol around at descriptions, but the ticketing office said there are no audio guides. There are no lockers for bags, so if you have a backpack, they will instruct you to wear it at the front.

Nestled in the heart of Innsbruck, the Dom St. Jakob stands as a stunning example of 18th-century Baroque architecture. This grand cathedral, dedicated to Saint James, showcases an exquisite interior adorned with intricate designs and a remarkable painting of the Virgin Mary. Originally built on the site of a Romanesque church from the 12th century, its construction spanned from 1717 to 1724 under architect Johann Jakob Herkomer’s vision.
Dom St. Jakob is absolutely stunning inside — a beautiful baroque cathedral with elaborate frescoes, ornate altars, and a peaceful atmosphere. The ceiling paintings and marble work are breathtaking, and it’s surprisingly quiet given its central location. A must-see for art, architecture, or history lovers — and a lovely place to pause and reflect during a walk through Innsbruck’s old town.

Surprisingly ornate cathedral! Was very happy to have wandered our way inside and highly recommend a visit if you're into toruing old, large cathedrals!

The cathedral was built in the Baroque period of the 18th century, dedicated to the apostle St. James. According to the plans of the architect Johann Jakob Herkomer, the cathedral was built between 1717 and 1724 on the site of a Romanesque church from the 12th century. When you enter this beautiful church, you are captivated by its rich decoration. There are so many details that you would have needed much more time to see it than we had available.

No photographer allowed free..if you want pic than you have to pay ..there a machine inside where you can pay by card or cash.. It's a beautiful inside.. but we choose not to click..

👍🏻 recommended. The park outside the church is also very serene and peaceful.

the church itself dated to the 13th century but the building that we see today is from 18th century. the church preserves the miraculous image of Our Lady of Help which make this church a pilgrimage location for the Holy Mary. you have to pay 1 Euro in order to be allowed to take photos. in a stairs to the underground level you will see a calm shrine for prayer. the interior of the Cathedral is the most impressive in Innsbruck.

A beautiful park in the centre of Innsbruck. In the earlier days it was used as a garden for the emperor, which is why it is so beautiful. Altstadt Innsbruck, also known as the Old Town, is a charming area nestled against the backdrop of the majestic Alps. Strolling through this medieval quarter offers a comprehensive overview of Innsbruck's famous landmarks such as the iconic Golden Roof, Imperial Palace, Triumphal Arch, and Maria-Theresien Street. The area is rich in history with some buildings dating back over 500 years and meticulous efforts to preserve its medieval details.
Charming and Timeless – A Walk Through Altstadt Innsbruck My visit to Altstadt Innsbruck (Old Town Innsbruck) was like stepping into a storybook. Nestled between majestic Alpine peaks, this historic heart of the city effortlessly blends medieval charm with vibrant modern life. As I wandered through its narrow, cobbled streets, I was surrounded by colorful façades, intricate architecture, and the kind of Old World ambiance that’s hard to find elsewhere. The highlight, of course, was the iconic Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), glimmering in the sunlight and drawing in history lovers and photographers alike. The nearby buildings, adorned with frescoes and Gothic windows, added to the enchanting atmosphere. Every corner had a hidden gem—from quaint cafés and boutique shops to local markets and street performers that made the experience feel authentic and alive. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just soaking in a picturesque European setting, Altstadt Innsbruck doesn’t disappoint. It’s walkable, welcoming, and rich in culture. I only wish I had more time to explore its museums and enjoy a few more Austrian pastries at one of its charming bakeries. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tyrol—this place is not just a stop; it’s a highlight.

Triumphpforte, also known as the Triumphal Arch, is a Roman-style arch located at the southern end of Maria Theresien Strasse in Innsbruck, Austria. Built in 1765 by Empress Maria Theresa to celebrate her son's wedding, it features detailed marble reliefs on one side commemorating the joyous occasion and mourns the sudden passing of her husband Emperor Franz Stephan on the other.
That’s the one of signature at Innsbruck in Austria. Look like the German architecture design. Early morning it less people walk. You come to take photo and enjoy
Mr. N — Google review
The Triumphal Arch in Innsbruck – a monument to both love and loss Built in 1765 by order of Empress Maria Theresa, this striking arch commemorated the wedding of her son, the future Emperor Joseph II. But tragedy soon followed — her husband, Emperor Franz I, died shortly after. As a result, the arch bears a unique dual symbolism: joyful wedding scenes on one side, mourning reliefs on the other. Architecturally, it’s a blend of Baroque and classical clarity, made from marble from nearby quarries. Located at the end of Maria-Theresien-Strasse, it marks the transition to the Old Town — and is a powerful spot for both photos and reflection.
Карен — Google review
Very beautiful arch, was trying to get photos with the gorgeous mountains in the archway but it was getting dark 😔
Malachi M — Google review
The Jubilee Arch in Innsbruck was erected to mark the wedding of the brother of King Joseph II, later Emperor Leopold II, to the Spanish Infanta Maria Ludivica. Among the guests were Queen Maria Theresa and Emperor Franz II Stefan, who died unexpectedly during the ceremony. Maria Theresa subsequently had an impressive chapel built at the place where the emperor died, in the Hofburg, and from then on wore only mourning clothes. The deceased emperor was immortalized on the wedding arch.
Günther R — Google review
Stunning, but small, bit of architecture. Let's be honest, you're not making a day trip out of this sight but it's worth walking to from the centre. Most people just go about their business around it so not a great tourism spot.
John L — Google review
The Triumphpforte, built in 1765, marks the southern end of Maria-Theresien-Straße and stands as one of Innsbruck’s most recognizable landmarks. Commissioned by Empress Maria Theresa, it commemorates both the marriage of her son Leopold II and the sudden death of her husband, Francis I. This duality is reflected in the design, one side celebrating joy, the other mourning loss. While it now sits at a busy intersection, it remains a striking historical monument that frames the city’s past with dignity.

In the heart of Innsbruck's Old Town, Helbling Haus stands out with its stunning Gothic and Baroque facade. This decorative townhouse, dating back to the 15th century, showcases a unique blend of architectural styles. Adorned with lavish stucco decorations that seem straight out of a fairytale, it features intricate sculptures and motifs adorning the window frames and sills.
Excellent stucco art , just beside Golden roof.
Pramod K — Google review
The Hölbling Haus, located in the picturesque city of Innsbruck, Austria, stands as a silent narrator of the city's rich architectural heritage. While specific historical and architectural details of the Hölbling Haus remain elusive, a critique of its presumed features can be attempted based on the general architectural milieu of Innsbruck. Architectural Splendor The Hölbling Haus, like many structures in Innsbruck's historic core, likely reflects the intricate and ornate style characteristic of Tyrolean architecture. The building may feature elements of the Baroque period, noticeable in elaborate facades, sophisticated stonework, and possibly the use of arches and vaults that speak of a bygone era. Additionally, the building might exhibit Gothic influences, seen in its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, all contributing to its majestic appearance. Artistic Facades and Frescoes A defining feature of Innsbruck's historical buildings is the use of frescoes and detailed art on the façades, which the Hölbling Haus presumably also boasts. These frescoes, often vibrant and meticulously crafted, tell tales of history, religion, and culture, offering a visual feast for both art aficionados and casual observers. Adaptation and Practicality Given Innsbruck's alpine location, the Hölbling Haus would have been constructed with practical considerations in mind. Features like steep roofs to manage snowfall and large windows to maximize natural light during the shorter winter days are likely aspects of its design. Such adaptations not only add to the building's functionality but also enhance its aesthetic charm. A Cultural Beacon The Hölbling Haus, situated in the heart of Innsbruck, is not just an architectural marvel; it is a cultural beacon. Its walls, if they could speak, would tell stories of the city's evolution, its people, and their traditions. The building is a must-visit for those seeking to immerse themselves in the historical ambiance of Innsbruck. Conclusion In the absence of specific details, the Hölbling Haus remains shrouded in a veil of mystery, yet its presumed architectural grandeur and historical significance make it a noteworthy subject of admiration. It stands as a testament to Innsbruck's architectural and cultural legacy, beckoning visitors to delve deeper into its storied past. As with many historical buildings in Innsbruck, the Hölbling Haus is likely a hidden gem waiting to be explored and appreciated by those intrigued by history and architecture.
Cláudio C — Google review
Helblinghaus – a baroque gem! Absolutely unmissable! The richly decorated façade looks like it’s made of sugar — full of stucco angels, masks, and floral ornaments. Though originally built in the 15th century, it was transformed in the 18th century into a Rococo masterpiece. Located right across from the Golden Roof, it creates a stunning contrast of architectural styles. A visual treat for anyone who loves art, design, or history!

Helblinghaus is located in the city center of Innsbruck and is famous for its Rococo-Baroque stucco facade. The house is named after Sebastian Hölbling, who owned it from 1800 to 1827. Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen Betriebs GmbH (Nordkette) is a modern transportation system connecting Innsbruck with Hungerburg, designed by Zaha Hadid. The cable car ride offers a scenic 20-minute journey to the Nordkette, showcasing breathtaking views of Innsbruck and its surrounding mountain landscapes.
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would! The Nordkette Cable Car is like riding straight into a postcard. 🚡 You start right in the heart of Innsbruck, glide up on the Hungerburg funicular, hop on the Seegrubenbahn, and before you know it you’re soaring over alpine meadows and jagged peaks. The final stretch to Hafelekar feels like you’re being lifted to the edge of the sky — and the views at the top? Absolutely jaw-dropping. 🌍✨ The ride itself is smooth, the cabins are clean, and the staff are friendly. Pro tip: go on a clear day — you’ll see the whole city spread out below and snow-capped peaks stretching forever. Bring a camera and a jacket, because even in summer it’s chilly at the top! Whether you want to hike, snap a million photos, or just sip a drink with the most epic backdrop imaginable, this is a must-do in Innsbruck. Worth every cent and then some.

The queuing time was quite long here to go up even in January. It seems reasonably priced until you workout the price of the cable car to go right to the top and then it is pretty expensive. The ride halfway up on the funicular is pretty fast, the trains are modern and you do get great views. When you get halfway there is a great viewing platform and you can see right across the city of innsbruck even as far as the ski jump

Very interactive and very interesting place to visit. We had a lot of fun and we learned a lot! It certainly is a place for people who understand German, English or Italian. Otherwise some attractions may be difficult to follow and kids would switch off. Be prepared for a lot of translating and patience and it will pay off.

Highly recommended!! It may be more exciting for the youth and kids, with its interactive concept. There was one room which depicted how people with different types of hearing go through daily life. That part made me more appreciative of the fact that I don’t have any hearing defects. I had limited time and couldn’t see everything in the space. But I genuinely enjoyed the parts I did manage to see.

We learned many new and interesting things. * Suitable for all ages: The Audioversum is a museum suitable for all ages. Children will have fun experimenting with the exhibits, while adults will appreciate the detailed scientific information. * Accessible: The Audioversum is centrally located in Innsbruck and is easily accessible by public transport. Our experience We visited the Audioversum on a rainy day when we couldn't ski. It was a perfect activity for a bad weather day. Our children had a great time experimenting with the exhibits, and we appreciated the educational information. We spent about three hours at the museum, and we could have stayed longer if we didn't have to leave. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Amazingly well maintained, interactive exhibits. We didn’t know what to expect, but were really surprised by how much there was to do—from watching sound turn into electrical impulses, to solving a crime, to riding a VR rollercoaster. This is a marketing initiative from a company that invented hearing aids; you might think that would make it a sales pitch, but instead it means it’s well funded and the exhibits actually work. Good for kids from 8 (play areas) to 16 (inserting an implant into a model of the inner ear with a microscope.)
Alistair C — Google review
There are a large number of interactive games, but they are interesting mainly for children. I liked the game Balance the most. A similar exposition in Vienna in the House of Music is much more intense
Marina V — Google review
It's a pretty cool place to spend an afternoon with your kids. The place isn't super big, and the things you can do that don't require being able to read German, English, or Italian are done quite quickly. Some parts of the exhibit rely on listening different sounds, which can be difficult with the level of the background noise even when the centre is not even half full. Step into the enchanting world of bells at Glockengießerei Grassmayr - "Glockenmuseum" in Innsbruck, where the art of bell-making comes to life. This award-winning museum offers a delightful journey through 400 years of bell-making tradition by the esteemed Grassmayr family. Discover the fascinating history and cultural significance of bells while witnessing the age-old casting and molding process that continues to this day.
We had so much fun at the Bell Museum! It was included with our Innsbruck cards but we would have paid full price for the experience too. All the different ways to experience the sound of bells - through water, through your feet, around your head - and the sound rooms and harmony rooms were transformative. We learned so much and could have stayed there all day enjoying the bells!

Cool bell foundry. We got into Innsbruck a little later than expected, but we had about 45 mins to check it out. Love the displays and movie, they have cast bells and other items for sale as well in a nice gift shop. We wish we had a little more time to spend and that we had arrived during shop hours to see the actual work. There are display bells and other items outside and you can ring many of the bells on display.

Functional church bell foundry. The exhibition gives a nice explanation about church bells, how they are made and their history. Was very interesting to see how they are made in person. When I was there, 10 bells were poured. Nice shop with a collection of their products. Before the bells were poured, a priest said a blessing. Would have liked to know in advance. Though church bells are obviously associated with religion, the exhibition is quite neutral in tone.

Amazing experience. It's a small museum about bells. They have an old foundry that serves as an exhibit, but they also let you peek into the new foundry where even today they make new bells. Best part was that you could try out many of them. So it was not only visual, but also audio experience. There is also a shop where you can buy your own bell as a souvenir.

A real fun museum where you can touch everything and try all. Recommanded for children. Just be ready for a lot of bells noise....

Very cool opportunity to see how bells are made with family that's been doing it for over 400 years.
George S — Google review
It's an archaic place showing very old techniques and plants and ways on how to make a beautiful bell which is to sound well and look impressive for hundreds of years! They have what hardly anybody has: regular customers for hundreds of years 😊. Next to the workshop they show a very interesting exhibition including a beautiful video about how they make bells. Impressive and definitely worth a visit!

Visited using the Innsbruck card. Small but chock full of informative exhibits and hands-on experiences. It was quite quiet when I visited, so I could take my time with each exhibit and listen to all the bell sounds clearly. Thumbs up to the friendly staff including someone in the forge who clarified that it is okay to enter the working forge area, which was a unique experience. Highly recommended especially if you have the Innsbruck card.

Great find in Innsbruck. Awesome selection of IPA with super cool and friendly staff. Excellent bar, recommended! Cheers!

Great beer selection and tasty food options. The staff were kind and incredibly attentive, yet not overbearing. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and go back myself, if time allows.

The burger was great, but the fries were the real star - perfectly crisp and flavorful, some of the best I have had. I also tried a Zirben Spritzer for the first time and it was love at first sip. Service was quick and friendly! I even got to play some pinball after a long time, which was a fun little bonus to the evening.

Fantastic staff, super super super beer and pizzas as good as Italy (my previous destination).

Great IPA selection. It was a nice taste of home on a two week trip to Europe. My wife found a Mexican Lager she liked too. The selection was great and the bartender was very friendly. Beers were roughly 7 Euro each.
Jason T — Google review
The place is great for a few beers, but don't plan on eating there. First of all, we were surprised that the outside area is being serviced but the inside tables are self-service (you have to go to the bar to order). That's okay... but you should then not charge the full price, as service cost is essentially void. Second, the food was really subpar. The burger we ordered was more bun than anything else (why even bother advertising it as focaccia buns?). The 'Pulled Beef' burger did not contain more than maybe 50 grams of meat (see pictures). The country fries were completely over seasoned and tasted just like salt. We had to leave them. One good aspect was the beer. The choices are various and it's a great choice to take the 'beer tasting' choice where you can try 4 different beers.

The right place to have a pint or two in a non- Tyrolean atmosphere. Good choice of draft beers. French fries are just ok

Additionally, excursions to Salzburg, Munich and Bavarian castles are organized.
Casino Innsbruck is a nice place and the atmosphere of this place was so good and what I enjoyed most is the hospitality of the workers and the guests were also behaving well actually you can’t compare here with no other.
Hugo C — Google review
It’s an okay casino. Only two blackjack tables with low minimums (10&20€) so both tables were often very busy. They also allow people to sit at the table who aren’t playing which was annoying. Staff were friendly, just need more of them and more tables.
Mike P — Google review
We were impressed by the staff, they were professional and very talkative. Not many people there. Although we won 500€, once dealer gave us a 800€ win inproperly (we did not realized it either at that moment) but he realized his mistake after 2 hands, so they took our money back after checking on cameras. Ive already given him for this win 15€ tip hehe which he didnt give back as well….
Robert C — Google review
I was looking forward to visiting Casino Innsbruck during my trip, but unfortunately had a disappointing experience with two staff members—one (heavier set fella) working at the upstairs registration desk and one security guard downstairs. Upon arrival, I was asked if I had been to an Austrian casino before. I replied honestly and asked if there was a difference from casinos in other countries. Instead of receiving an answer or any basic explanation, I was met with silence and indifference. I asked a few more questions about the process, but the staff member continued to ignore me and then immediately pressured me to purchase chips without any clarity. It felt like I was being pushed into spending money before even stepping inside. When I went downstairs, a gentleman at the desk kindly confirmed I was already registered and didn’t need to pay to enter. However, the security guard (another heavier-set man who was clearly aware of the interaction) still refused to let me in, without offering any explanation. It was apparent that both staff members understood English but chose not to engage respectfully. As someone who enjoys casinos and plays regularly in the U.S., I often like to take my time and play for a while. But after this unwelcoming treatment, I decided not to waste my time. The behavior I experienced felt discriminatory, dismissive, and frankly, unprofessional. It’s unfortunate—because had I been treated with basic courtesy, I may have stayed and enjoyed the evening. Instead, it felt like a scheme to rush visitors into spending unnecessarily. I hope management takes this seriously. No guest should be treated this way, especially in a hospitality-driven setting like a casino.
Cata L — Google review
The staff and dealers are reluctant to speak in english... they react very badly if you speak with them in english.. it's give bad feeling for a tourist who doesn't know german.. as if you are not wanted to be at the casino..
Gunjan M — Google review
I do not recommend. I had a machine that locked up, they made us wait 20 min to fix, then gave me my money back. Right before I left they told me I owed them more. Be careful here they will swindle you.

Went here since the ride on the cable car was included in our Innsbruck Welcome Card 👏 Easy to reach by car and there was plenty of parking! Great tour and the view on top was magnificent 👌 Playgrounds for the kids, restaurant for a cold drink or snack and lots of hiking and mountain bike trails down hill 👏
Rasmus S — Google review
Easy accessible mountain cable car ride. The parking was not really clear since you can only buy a full day ticket. We had free acces due to our Innsbruck Plus card (more than 3 nights stay with selected accomodation) and got to the top to take a small hike. Outside of ski season it is very popular to take a mountain cart or mountain bike downhill.
Stanly — Google review
We went in July (summer) using our welcome pass to access the gondola for free. Side note: the welcome pass is such a cool initiative by Innsbruck (free transport, discounts off activities and 4 gondola rides on the lesser known cable cars) we received our passes through our accommodation the day we arrived :) we took a bus and then transitioned into a tram for most of the journey up the mountain (stunning views along the way) then a short walk to the gondola/cable car. From the peak, walk up a steep hill which leads you to a lake overlooking the mountains, you then pass by cows grazing and end up back at the gondola in a 30 min round trip. So beautiful. Many other trails around but we only did the one.
Jessica N — Google review
Great walk. Up very steep gravel and rocks. Not for beginners and not great if you are not used to altitude
Cee J — Google review
Used to be my favourite bike park but it’s lost something recently. You used to be able to buy 2-3 hour tickets. Now the min is 4 hours so everyone is forced to pay a higher price. On top of that the prices go up every year. For that higher price you think you’d get more? No, the opposite. The Götzens trails aren’t even accessible this year. So pay more and receive less is the motto. Sad that it’s become like this. Still a great place to ride but the value is no longer there.
M W — Google review
Incredible views, warm cozy restaurant at the top, and fun cable car experience for the kids. There’s mountain bike paths and go carts for the kids to ride.

Actually a great place, awesome view and well located but... Carpark: they sell only full 10€ tickets no half-day or hours-ticket + XXL stupid regulation to refund parking tickets only between 8:30 - 17:00 Bikepark: they charge full ticket prices although only 60% of bike trails were opened... Sad but normal game of capitalist monopolies

KI - Kletterzentrum Innsbruck is a state-of-the-art climbing center that offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor routes for bouldering, lead, and speed climbing suitable for all skill levels. The facility features modern amenities including a gym, Kilter board, and various training areas. The center also provides a large selection of routes for both beginners and experienced climbers.
I want to return to Innsbruck again because of this amazing climbing gym. It’s a modern, spacious gym with excellent climbing zones, a bouldering area, a cozy café, and clean changing areas – it’s a 10 out of 10.
Irina M — Google review
Walkable from the town centre or train station - flat straight road out. Also a bus runs there regularly. Great centre with a lot of climbing options. Outdoor bouldering was a highlight for me. Grading was on the more difficult side, and almost all bouldering is set with more natural feature holds rather than conventional indoor climbing holds. Depends on what you like there, for me it would be nicer to see a mix of both. Changing facilities are very good, staff very helpful. Really enjoyed my time here.

This December, my daughter and I had an amazing time at the Innsbruck Kletterzentrum! The facility is spacious, modern, and exceptionally well-maintained, making it ideal for climbers of all skill levels. What really impressed us was the autobelay system. It offered a strong sense of safety and allowed us to climb at our own pace, without needing a partner to manage the belaying. We were amazed by the variety of routes on the autobelay walls. We can’t wait to go back!

I visited this gym with my partner in August 2024, we climbed here several grades 5c-8a. To sum it up...not the worst gym we've been to as there were some quite positive points as well, but we expected much more from the place of such reputation. AND... we won't come back due to cons - see below. Pros: - wide selection of routes, also with the highest grades and outdoor zone, - interesting safe floor (personally - not tested though :)), - well developed general infrastructure and surroundings. Cons: - very, very dirty, slippery steps and holds - I would like to know that before I came here, because it made the climbing a lot more difficult (and -100 to fun). Please wash them :( - routes were...well, "not great, not terrible", but definitely not exciting, - extremely old routes - this actually didn't bother me this time, as it was my first time anyway, but really - so many routes from November/December 2023? :D If I lived here permanently, I would be very sad, seeing the same routes again and again for months, - I was quite surprised that such big and known gym doesn't have a free parking.
Natalia T — Google review

This is climbing in the high end. The facilities are amazing. Route setting is masterclass. However, the bouldering area is constantly congested. You can be standing in line for quite some time. We came early on a Friday and there were loads of people. The check-in area is quite small and you have to wait outside. Do if you are not a skilled lead climber there are a few obstacles here.

We had a great time. We first did the school of magic with three people and then the castle with a few more. The kids and the adults had fun and the staff was super friendly. We will come again
Daniel M — Google review
We did two rooms in two days, Maniac and Houdini. Both were incredibly fun, interesting, and challenging in their own ways. Would definitely recommend this location for any of their rooms. We are quite experienced and had some fun challenges but also some quick solves; there is some great variety in the puzzles.
Matthew H — Google review
I want to start by saying that the staff was nice and friendly. we have a good welcome and good advice. We did the room "Maniac". Now we have encountered several issues that have detracted from the game and our experience. (padlock that does not open, even with the help of staff, passage where we had to use A LOT of force even though the regulations prohibit it....) we also took the "live actor" paid option but ultimately we paid for nothing because it is only there for a few minutes. I don't recommend choosing this option unless you have money because it doesn't change the experience. And finally we chose the most complicated room but ultimately this one is not that complicated if everything works correctly. We are overall disappointed with our experience and do not recommend this room at least.
Monsieur R — Google review
Amazing! The live-actor was amazing in the Maniac room. We got very nicely scared, and loved every second of it. They let us complete the room even though we were out of time. We originally only wanted to do the maniac one. But afterwards, we actually did the Wizarding room as well. That room is tailored to be more playable with kids in the group, but we still needed hints to complete it🥴. We didn't have a booking for it, but they are very nice and we could do it anyway!
A C — Google review
Despite some minor technical glitches (game master picked up on it and helped us not get stuck), the room and puzzles was super well designed and the difficulty was perfect (did the Houdini room). Been to a few escape rooms before but this was on another level from the very beginning. Would highly recommend!
Joakim M — Google review
What a ride! We did the Houdini room in a group of four. The quality and detail was incredible with some incredibly clever puzzles and technology that left me impressed. This was as much an immersion into the world of Houdini as it was an escape room. The icing on the cake was that no puzzle required an understanding of the native language. All in all, highly recommend, it's expensive but complete value for money.
Jayce H — Google review
We played The Castle. It was a cool room with many fun tasks. BUT, i have played over 40 rooms in different places and countries and I have never had less dedication from the personell. They have always been fast to say hello, wanting to talk and take pictures afterwards. Here it was kind of nothing. After I arrived it took 5-10 min before someone came to say hello. Asked if all in the group where there. I said no and then she left. When all 3 where there we had to ring a bell. No check up if people arrived. After the room ended the only thing we got was "you made it" and then she went into the room. No thank you for playing with us or anything. Also some of the stuff in the room malfunctioned. So nice looking room that didn't function 100% and bad customer service.

Tantegert, located on the southern edge of Innsbruck, offers a picturesque forest trail that begins at the starting point and leads to the Gasthof Bretterkeller restaurant. The circular route takes you through a fairy tale forest, especially enchanting in deep snow during winter. For those seeking a nostalgic experience, taking the Igler Bahn from Wilten to Igls provides a journey reminiscent of traveling through a model railway landscape.

Mountain cable car
The Nordketten Hungerburgbahn is an essential experience for anyone visiting Innsbruck, offering a swift 20-minute ascent from the city center to stunning panoramic views at over 2000 meters. This modern funicular not only serves as a gateway to winter skiing and summer hiking through picturesque meadows but also provides access to various outdoor activities along the scenic River Inn. For those looking to explore further, you can continue your journey on foot or by train towards Hafelekar.
Must see while in Innsbruck! Great trip to the top of the mountain with fabulous views, hiking possibilities, and traditional food!
Robin S — Google review
This is a great way to get to the top of the mountain and is a part of the Innsbruck card (if you purchase one). We took the funicular up, then took both cable cars to the very top of the mountain. We enjoyed lunch on the first mountain stop as the food was quite delicious and the service great, even with being so busy! The cars in all three (funicular and both cable cars) get super crowded and you are crammed in like sardines. If you're short, that definitely prohibits being able to see the view as you ascend/descend (if you're stuck in the middle of the car). Still worth it and I would do it again!
K E — Google review
The view from the top is absolutely stunning. I absolutely recommend taking the gondola all the way up the mountain to visit the peak. You’ll be able to see the alps and Innsbruck!
Spacelottchen _ — Google review
Hello, I booked the cable car for Monday May 27, 2024 for the happy hour specials. I’ve enjoyed the views but didn’t have enough time at the peak (maybe 2 mins max) since I got up at 4:50pm because I took the cable downward instead of upward. I would suggest to 1) lengthen the happy hours to 2.5 hours and 2) have clearer signs on where to go once off the cable cars. It gets a bit confusing when we had to switch. The ticket counter person at Hungerburg was very rude too as she kept insisting that it’s impossible to miss the signs. If you want to encourage tourism, there should also be some level of understanding, courtesy and hospitality. The cable car staff were more understanding though and they did a very good job. Thank you and I hope that you will consider my suggestions for future travellers.

Amazing ride, starting in the Congress next to a marvelous small cozy park where the you can feel the Autumn Vibes of the Inntal. Smooth ride up over the biggest city in Tirol, just amazing. At the top, a lot of hiking routes, restaurant hidden in thw forest and incredible view. Definitely worth a day enjoying the area

The Nordketten Hungerburgbahn is a stunning funicular railway located at Rennweg 3A in Innsbruck, Austria. Designed by Zaha Hadid, its modern, glacier-inspired stations complement the natural beauty of the Alps. It connects the city center to the Hungerburg area, offering breathtaking views and access to the Nordkette mountain range.

If you’re in Innsbruck you MUST VISIT THE TOP. I purchased Innsbruck card and it’s worth it! It’s 53Euro that time (April 2024) that includes going to the top with cable car, Swarovski crystal with free shuttle bus, imperial palace, alpine zoo, hop on hop off around innsbruck and alot more. I recommended buying that for sure, I ended up saving tons. Can’t recommend enough

Rapoldipark, located in Innsbruck, Austria, is a picturesque park adjacent to the tranquil River Sill. It features manicured lawns, fountains, statues, and artfully arranged flower beds set against a stunning mountainous backdrop. The park offers ample space for relaxation and leisure activities such as feeding ducks in the large pond or enjoying the playgrounds with various equipment for kids. Additionally, it provides bike and pedestrian trails for outdoor enthusiasts.
Beautiful park for views, ducks and reading and an interesting looking playpark for children.

I remembered the park from way back when, the late 1980s and early 1990s actually, when it was still a place considered to be bad neighborhood. They fixed the park up nicely and installed all the amenities and even a calisthenics section, for adults to workout there. My kids absolutely love the place and request to go back a lot…

Sauna
This might be the best swimming hall I have ever been. Great main pool, unique Sauna view to the main pool, round outside pool with riverlike flow, two great water slides, pools and slides for small children. Kind staff. I will definately go here again if I visit Innsbruck again with my daughters.
Tero K — Google review
Very nice, clean pool. A bit smaller than the pictures suggested though. With 2 long slides good for 2 hours of fun with young kids.
Jaw S — Google review
Mainly came to use the textile sauna but it is operated on a schedule related to electricity pricing (???) that is not obvious at all from the website. Asked about a refund but was refused as "it's not our fault you didn't know the schedule" Might be the language barrier but it felt quite blunt, I blame management and not the receptionist who seemed nice. Pool had kids running around in soaking wet diapers too, so felt unhygienic.
Anthony G — Google review
Disappointed with Sauna on a Sunday. Maybe famillies day young children running amok no supervision of parent, Jumping up and down on sauna benches Unsupervised , Young Boy aged about 9 naked in steam room on his own, Where was the parent ?? Naked men everywhere, very unhealthy, If any pedohpiles were present what then ??? A Sauna is no place for Children.

Great!! Warm pools and a cafeteria! There were two slides. The blue one was great but my daughter hit her head in the red in the curve, there should definitely be a big warning sign to say that you need to lay down!
Maimai — Google review
Decent pools and facilities but very overcrowded. The gentleman at the reception was very helpful and explained everything. It was a fun afternoon/evening especially after the crowd lessened.
Judit O — Google review
Great place for a swim and bath. Swimming ate a for kids. Big water slide is also there but not open currently. One outdoor pool is also there to soak under the sun and in the water. A big swimming pool for good swimmers is also there of course. Best part, the shower has good temperature control for the water so you can. Have nice hot and or cold shower as you wish. Needless to say, as of today, the 3G entrance rule applies and in addition, you need to register yourself through the QR code or old-fashioned paper way. Recommended!
PREM R — Google review
It would be much better if they had an area reserved for people that want to swim. It is really annoying to have to stop constantly because kids are everywhere and the elderly stops in the middle of the pool to chat. Furthermore it is regularly crowded.

The sauna is very nice, although can get a bit crowded. There are alot of great, different saunas! My favorite was the Panoramasauna with a cold plunge afterwards!

Wonderful pool. The views of the mountains from the swimming pool through the window make for a wonderful experience. The waters are also a little warmer than the other swimming baths which makes for a more relaxing experience. If you want a relaxed and easy day I would recommend buying the sauna ticket and making a day event here. The roof sauna also has a wonderful view of the mountains. the pool also has a charming art deco design. The pool does get a little crowded at times, so if you can I would go when most people are at work or later in the evening

Only visited the sauna. Very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, various saunas to choose from (incl. a beautiful roof-top panorama sauna), a steam bath, a cold plunge pool, and more. The roof-top terrace offers great views over the city and is a comfortable place to relax in one of the many chairs.

Very liberal place when it comes to have shared changing rooms. However, the receptionist or person in charge on 24.02.24 at 8pm was absolutely RACIST towards my friend and I, having received insults from her, insults in german, thinking that we couldn’t understand what she was saying. Absolutely disgusting. NOT recommending this place if this is how they treat they foreign customers.

Freibad Tivoli is a fantastic outdoor swimming destination that stands out among Europe’s best. With its knowledgeable staff, who are far more than just lifeguards, visitors can enjoy a welcoming atmosphere. The facility boasts a heated 50m lap pool with designated lanes for different swimming speeds and an impressive diving tower featuring multiple boards. Families will appreciate the expansive kids' area complete with a long spiral slide and shallow toddler pools equipped with fun water features.
Amazing, lots of space to relax, there is a sports ground, lots of people but small queues, unfortunately there is not a single indoor pool but this does not affect the rating, I liked everything!
Виктор Д — Google review
Stunning, a 50m lane pool, olympic diving pool 2 other massive pools and a paddling pool all set in a really nice park. It was very cheap for a full day, clean and the pools are absolutely amazing.
Rob J — Google review
One of the best outdoor swimming pools I have seen in Europe! Extremely knowledgable staff, far exceeding the intelligence and competence of the average life guard. Pleasure to talk to them! Heated 50m lap pool with three lanes set aside for swimmers of different speed. Professional tower with diving boards. Large kids pool with long spiral slide. Toddler pool with shallow water and water features. An additional 25m lap pool without marked lanes, mostly used by retirees. Small restaurant/large concession stand with local food at affordable prices. Extensive lawn and meadows with old trees and a mix of sun and shade. Wonderful, dream like setting with the mountains in the background. Beach volleyball court, soccer court with several goals, children's playground, outdoor chess Paid parking in front. Lockers need 1 Euro or 2 Euro coin deposit. Bottomline: one of the nicest, best managed, beautifully located outdoor swimming pools in Europe. Only things missing might be the latest, state of the art water features that generate bubbles and jetties. Don't need that for swimming laps, though :)
Kris — Google review
Spent quite some time there. The pool setup is done nicely, with pools ranging from baby’s pools to a jumping tower, which reaches 10 meters. It opens every hour or so, not too sure. The entry is worth every 3 euros you have to pay.
Leonhard M — Google review
For ~5€ per person you get so many different pools, slides, springboard and more. Just make sure to come on a nice day as they do not heat the water. Weekdays are preferred to avoid crowds

Indoor swimming pool

Hallenbad Höttinger Au is a practical destination for those looking to get in some serious swimming. While the facility may show its age and could benefit from modern upgrades, it serves its purpose well as a place for lane swimming with six 25-meter lanes available. The water temperature is comfortable, making it suitable for both sport swimmers and families, as there’s also a warm small pool designed specifically for kids and even a tiny one for babies.
My wife and I are serious swimmers from Colorado. We have swum in pools around the world and Hallenbad Hottinger Au met our needs perfectly. We arrived 15 minutes before Saturday opening (09:00). I circle swam in lane 1 which easily accommodated me and 2 other swimmers. My wife swam in lane 4 and circle swam with 2 other swimmers with no difficulty. The pool and locker room were clean. I am a lifeguard at my home pool and when I introduced myself to the bademeister, we struck up an instant friendship.
Dennis E — Google review
Clean, orderly and well run. The baths often become busy after working hours (after 4ish) but otherwise they have plenty of space and the other swimmers are respectful. The water is a little colder than the other pools in innsbruck which makes for better swimming practice if you are a serious swimmer.
Christopher S — Google review
Very nice and clean 6 lane (25m) public swimming pool with friendly staff. It is not too crowded and lanes are divided between small, medium, and fast. Really nice view on the mountain.
Nicolas — Google review
The pool, locker room and showers were clean. I arrived at 11am on a monday and it wasn't too crowded - about 4 ppl in a lane. The lockeroom offers lockers for a 1 or 2 euro (there's a change machine) deposit and you get a bracelet with the locker key attached to it. So swimming with that was a bummer but you get used to it. The water temperature was cool but not too cold at all. i actually found it to be just right. A staff member called Peter was very nice and helped me with purchasing a ticket and figuring out the locker situation.
Nitsan M — Google review
I have been swimming here for 5 years, but in the last 2 years, the situation has become unbearable (here and so in the other swimming pools in IBK). When can someone come for free swimming? I tried in the early morning, lunchtime, and evening (and Tuesday is closed cause of the school day....already) and there were always either courses or school classes taking over half of the available lanes, so the free swimmers had to be squeezed into the remaining lanes, making it impossible to swim properly (about 12 per lanes, of course, all at different speed). I cannot come to swim during working time, so when am I supposed to come to find a decent situation when I can swim without having to crash on other swimmers? A change in the management is needed.
Andrea F — Google review
Perfect place for sport swimming. It could be crowded, depends on time. Water temperature is quite OK, not too cold. Also there is super nice small swimming pool for kids, pretty warm. Third swimming pool, the smallest one Is for baby.
Spaso L — Google review
impossible hygiene conditions. I was terrified from the start because my hair was swimming in the water and on the ground. the most impossible thing was on the toilets. a rat came scurrying out of the toilet i was visiting and ran through the toilets towards the swimming pool. I don't want to know where these beasts are still running around. The staff was also very unfriendly and didn't look like they were cleaning anything in this swimming pool.
Magdalena N — Google review
The swimming pool is quite dated and would definitely deserve an upgrade. Don't expect anything fancy for relaxing, this is where you go to get in a few laps before work. Just wish the pool was a 50m one instead of 25m. tl;dr: Good enough for swimming practice.
