Mt. Olympus - Water & Theme Park Resort is the world's largest water resort, featuring 37 waterslides, 3 lazy rivers, and 2 massive wave pools. The theme park is designed around Ancient Greece and Greek mythology, offering roller coasters, outdoor water slides, and go-karts that pass through underwater tunnels. With a variety of accommodations including budget-friendly hotel rooms and a Camp Resort with cabins and tent sites, this resort provides an adventurous experience for all ages.
Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park is a fantastic destination for families looking for a mix of excitement and relaxation. We visited during the summer and had an amazing time exploring both the indoor and outdoor water parks. The outdoor water slides were thrilling, and the wave pool was a big hit with the kids. The indoor park is a great backup in case of rain, and the lazy river was perfect for unwinding. The park is massive, so be prepared to do a lot of walking. The roller coasters and go-karts in the theme park section added even more adventure to our day. We also appreciated the free admission included with our hotel stay—it made everything feel more convenient and budget-friendly. The only downsides were that it got very crowded during peak hours, and food lines were long. It’s best to arrive early and plan breaks to avoid the rush. Also, the hotel rooms could use some updates, but overall, they were clean and comfortable. Mt. Olympus is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Wisconsin Dells area. Great fun for all ages—we’ll be coming back again next summer!

We have been coming to Mt. Olympus for many years now since my kids were babies and liked the smaller water slides and rides and now they love the bigger water slides and roller coasters. There is always so much to do and they are always adding new things so it is fun to come back year after year. This year my 12 year old requested to go for her birthday and we tried the birthday package and she loved it! The employees are all wonderful. We all had a great time even at the end of August we still were able to go on all the water slides and roller coasters and the lines were not long at all. Thank you as always Mt. Olympus. 🏊🏼‍♀️🎢🎂♥️

A week ago, I visited the park. It was a family trip planned two months in advance. We reserved a hotel room in advance with direct park admission. Everything was great, except that upon arrival and check-in, we had to wait around five hours for our room to be ready since check-in time was 4:00 p.m., and we arrived at 11:00 a.m. It's worth mentioning that we traveled from Arkansas. The housekeepers kindly let us use another room to change and one of my sisters forgot her bag, yes it was our mistake but we were so excited and traveling with children is not an easy task. To make this short, it only took us 15 minutes or less to realize the forgotten bag, we returned to the room and it was gone, we asked the guys and they didn't see anything, the hotel staff and manager didn't show any interest. The bag only had $300 in cash and we said that didn't matter, we were only interested in the IDs and cards. I think they should have a plan to assist customers with these types of problems, since there are no cameras in the hallways or at the hotel entrance. Still we tried to enjoy the park for the kids, because they were excited.
Vianney S — Google review
Stayed Saturday through Tuesday. Water park was ok, everything closed at 7 besides the outdoor theme park. Older acquired hotel is definitely not kept up. There are outdoor BBQ areas. The room itself (which we paid dearly for) was the best part. It was very nice but walls were very very thin. They do have someone driving through the lot every now and then. Carpets throughout the halls are very dirty and the elevator was extremely dirty.
Taneya K — Google review
This place was great! I took my two sons here 9 and 11 and both were able to do all the rides and enjoyed the entire time. We booked in advance so the room and park rate was very affordable. Food at the park is expensive but that's to be expected. Wait times for most things were not bad the majority of the time. The only complaints I have is I wish there were more drinking fountains in the park, we only found one the whole time. And I wish they would enforce some of the rules more. The amount of times I got hit during go karts when in the out area because people thought it was funny was very annoying. Same with people holding a place in line for a while group to walk past you. But all in all the park was great, it was very clean, and the staff was great at both the hotel and the park. I absolutely would go here again!

Stayed at Mount Olympus with my sons and had a great time in the Wisconsin Dell area. You got free water park there everyday with your stay. Everyone in your group which made it really fun and enjoyable. They have game room there, miniature golf course ,and even a a amusement rides that you can enjoy.

My family and I stayed at Mt Olympus Resort Hotels and received the passes to the theme/ water park FREE!!! The water was cold but understandable because it's only 72° currently. We will absolutely be back in the near Future.

This was our 1st visit to the Waterpark only, we absolutely had a great day! It didn’t feel like it was over crowded but the lines for the big slides were quite long but it seemed like they moved at a good pace, lots of different age areas for the kids which made it even more enjoyable for our 3 year old. We ate lunch by the Toddler area and their French fries were delicious. Life jackets are available for no charge to use (if you forget to bring one like we did) in different areas of the waterpark. There were ample amount of lounge/sit up chairs available for resting time. Lots of photo ops also available to take for your memory books. Plenty of gift shops and little snack shops around the park, also plenty of restrooms The do have stroller/wagon/wheel chair rentals. If you don’t rent a room it is quite a walk from the parking lot to the waterpark with hills

Timbavati Wildlife Park is a family-friendly animal park that has been around for centuries and is home to over 350 animals from more than 70 species. Visitors can enjoy supervised interaction with various animals throughout the park and even take a ride on the Safari Train or a trained camel. The park offers interactive activities such as camel and pony rides, as well as opportunities for children to have close encounters with baby wallabies and kangaroos.
A Must-Do Experience in Wisconsin Dells! Our visit to Timbavati Wildlife Park was an absolute highlight of our trip to Wisconsin Dells. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a clean, well-organized park and incredibly friendly staff. The hands-on experiences are what truly set this place apart. We loved the giraffe feeding—getting up close with such majestic animals was an unforgettable moment to share. The variety of animals is impressive, and you can tell that they are well cared for. The zookeepers were knowledgeable and passionate, answering all our questions and sharing fun facts. The Safari Train Ride was a fantastic way to see many of the animals in a different setting. It felt like a mini-adventure. The park is a perfect size for a day date—not so big that you get exhausted, but with more than enough to see and do to fill several hours. Timbavati offers a genuine connection with wildlife that is wonderful to share with a partner. We can't wait to go back!

We took our kids this past week before the zoo closed for the season. Here is my honest review: The building right past where they have the sloths, baby goats, baby emu’s & tortoises - where the Iguana is housed .. is SOOO NASTY!! It stunk so bad we literally couldn’t even go see the poor animals that were trapped inside. It was awful!! I gagged for about 5 minutes straight after opening the door. I seriously wish I could’ve recorded the smell. The lions den and the tigers den.. PATHETIC!!!!! You can see the pace tracks from them going back and forth constantly. They looked very sad & the enclosures are not big enough for ONE big cat.. they have two stuffed in each enclosure!!! A measly Little Rock pile for them to climb on and a stream of water. Some of the animal enclosures were extremely dirty. The poor monkey was going back and forth his little enclosure and all the spots he stopped to sit & look out the poor thing couldn’t see because the glass was covered in filth!! On the plus side, the train ride was a neat experience. The Lammas came right up to you wanting carrots (you can buy feed.) The parrot experience was fun for the whole family too. Feeding the giraffe was awesome. Climbing the overlook tower was scary, but beautiful at the top. We are planning on going back in the summertime in hopes that the animal enclosures are better maintained!!

We visited Timbavati Wildlife Park on Father’s Day and had a great time! Our group included six adults and three kids (ages 3 to 8), and everyone had fun. There were no lines or long waits, which made the day feel super relaxed. One of the highlights was the free animal encounters—we got to go inside the bird and kangaroo enclosures, which was such a fun and unique experience for all ages. We also did the train ride, which was nice for giving our legs a break. It was helpful for feeding the deer and getting a closer look at the rhino, but aside from that, it didn’t add too much. If you’re okay walking, you could probably skip it, but it’s a good option for anyone who prefers less walking. The park itself was clean, easy to navigate, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We grabbed some ice cream by the lion enclosure to cool off before heading out. All in all, it was a great way to spend a Sunday—and we’d definitely come back again!

We had a VIP tour and it was a blast! We got to interact with so many animals and to learn so much information. It was early in the morning so all the animals were active and so cool to watch. We also did sloth and red panda encounters and it was a unique experience. Our kid got to interact with a ball python and now plays with his plush snake saying snakes are his favorite, so it was certainly enriching for him to visit. All animals were well cared for! Great thanks to our tour guide Lane for amazing time!

Went to the zoo today. We had both the red panda experience and sloth experience. I can't say enough good things about both. The red panda was the best. Came right across our laps to eat grapes. We were able to easily pet Puck(his name). It was so cool. We also fed the sloths and were able to pet them. Our encounter guide, Nicole was outstanding. Ask for her!!!!! Nicole was so knowledgeable and patient. We would go again tomorrow!!!
Carol J — Google review
It was great to see the animals and an awesome experience to be able to pet the kangaroos. They have the option to buy animal feed for you to feed the animals too. The train ride was cool and it stopped so that the animals could walk up to the train and people can feed them right there and pet them. The parakeet area was pretty cool, you enter into their spot where they are free flying and might even land on you.
Jamie E — Google review
First of all, we got this free with hotel so expectations were low. But given that, it was better than expected, in that there were a wide range of animals. Many looked sad, and I must say I prefer petting zoos with animals suited to cages. And the whole place has a bit of “seen better days” about out. But there really was a wide range - tigers and other big game, goats and birds and other things to observe. Good for families with young kids.
Nachos D — Google review
While some encounters were very enjoyable this place mistreats their animals horribly I would give zero stars if I could solely due to that. Good: Feeding and interacting with the animals is tons of fun. We bought the food box and had tons of fun with the parakeets, goats, kangaroos, and giraffe! It was an amazing experience. The staff seemed very kind Bad: None of the animals had remotely enough room, it’s horrible. I mean I’m talking two tigers or two lions in literally a room so small they can only walk in circles. I didn’t see a whole lot of enrichment items just a few little things here and there. Many of the animals such as the bat ear foxes or the large cats were just repeating the same movement over and over and over for long periods of time which is commonly known as zoochosis and it shows they are doing poor psychologically. This all concerns me. These animals are not being well taken care of they do not have enough space and that is on the owners of this company.

Witches Gulch, situated at Wisconsin River State Natural Area in Wisconsin Dells, is a captivating slot canyon formed by the force of rushing water through rock. Accessible only via the Upper Dells boat tour, this privately owned natural wonder offers a short and narrow walk on a wooden deck along the Gulch creek. While some visitors find the tour cost-prohibitive, others believe that the stunning beauty of this sandstone canyon justifies the expense.
Take the boat tour to see this incredible place. It is a magical place, incredible views and the connection with nature is amazing. I have seen comments complaining about wifi or not wanting to pay for the boat tour. Valid comments but at least from my side I went to connect with nature and the amazing people that work there keeps the place clean. Take the time to go to this amazing place.

Found this under hiking trails. This is NOT a hiking trail. First off GPS settings bring you to an employee entrance and took us forever to find. Locals had no idea how to get there. Had to buy a boat tour to get to it. On a boat way longer than on land. Tour was 2 hours 15 min. We were dropped off and rushed through something I wanted to stand and take in and enjoy. Not an option. You had to rush and even with rushing almost missed the boat. Took us to another cool area where again rushed. Not worth the large amount you pay since you do nit get to enjoy and are rushed through rapidly
Kelli B — Google review
The Upper Dells Witch’s Gulch tour was worth it. The captain and tour guide were engaging and gave us lots of fun facts! I knew the stops would be short, but I think it was a nice way to spend a few hours.
Jackie P — Google review
“DO NOT” enter where the signs are placed on the trail (nudge nudge wink wink) and DO NOT follow the trail until you hear water. And absolutely DO NOT go down to the bridge to see the canyon for free instead of taking the boat ride. I went there early in the morning, and caught sunrise by the river.
Aditya L — Google review
This was fun and really beautiful. We had to take a boat tour to get to the Witches Gulch but we enjoyed it.

Very interesting place. The trail is short and straight not steep at all. Got great pictures. There is a cafeteria at the end of the trail so you can get refreshments. We really enjoyed exploring this place. Definitely worth checking out.

Beautiful place to visit. It's very unique and tranquil location. It is also handicapped accessible. The best way of getting there is through a dinner cruise at sunset.

We've come here while on Dell's Jet boat tour. We had about 20mins to walk thru it... Use a bathroom, buy and eat an ice cream.. then we had to go back to the boat to get wet ;) It is a pretty place and a highlight during our jet boat ride. Definitely recommend it.

Noah's Ark Waterpark is a sprawling 70-acre family-friendly destination in Wisconsin Dells, known as America's largest waterpark. With over 51 water slides, the park offers a wide range of attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling tube slides like The Plunge and Monkey Rapids to leisurely options such as lazy rivers and wave pools, there's something for everyone. Special areas are designated for kids, ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Loved the park and the whole experience. It was a hot day and wait time was not bad, but that was a Tuesday so don’t mind it if it’s just during the weekend. Plenty of rides, lots of food to pick from(general burgers, tenders, fries, etc..) But your tickets online, with the package that includes food and drink from Johnny rocket or MIA pizza. Wait time was less than 25 minutes and it was not bad.
Sam — Google review
We went there in August. The weather was a bit cloudy and the temperature was around 78°F. We bought our tickets online, so there wasn't any waiting line to get in! Wow, the park was so beautiful and the weather was just perfect for enjoying after using our devices – it was amazing! Then, suddenly the sky went dark and it started raining, so the park had to shut down the devices activity and ask everyone to head to the shelters. We were in the shelter for about an hour, and it was really pouring rain. After that, it stopped, and the park started getting lively again. We played for about an hour before the sky got dark and it rained again, which stopped everything. We decided to leave the park, and when we were leaving, they gave us another ticket because it was raining today. The customer service was great! The rain really did waste our time. We drove for about two hours to get there, spent the whole day just playing, but ended up wasting time waiting in the shelter and then having to leave early. However, on the other hand, the rain made the park much less crowded, and the lines were significantly shorter than they usually are on a weekend in the summer. So, we weren't that sad about facing the bad weather.

The best time in Wisconsin Dells area !! America 's largest water park !!! We had loads of fun and convenience around the park. The best slides are : Black Anaconda ranks first. Time Warp goes for 2nd. The wave beach is one of my favorites as well. It's a water park duh?!!! You are wet all the way through. Leave your towels in a spot because you won't need it. Even if the Sun is out, you will never be dry. Walk all around the park and one day is not enough to enjoy. Go in at 10 so less people are coming in and enjoy the best time until closing at 7pm. Worth it all the way. Make sure to buy online for convenience and savings. I love this park, we'll be back next year !!!

I've been going to Noah's Ark Waterpark for the past 30 years, and it still delivers some of the best water slides in America. Other parks in the Dells just don’t compare—the rides here are more complex, thrilling, and fun. We went again today, and it was just as exciting as ever. Lines were shorter than usual, and the price was very reasonable. They’re currently running a great deal on season passes—I got one for the price of a single visit, which was an absolute steal. The park is clean, well-maintained, and continues to raise the bar when it comes to water rides. If you’re visiting Wisconsin Dells, Noah’s Ark is hands down the best water park to choose for a top-tier ride experience.
Sean H — Google review
Great waterpark overall! We had a fun time and were pretty happy with how the day went. The only real downside was the long lines for the bigger slides - some were 30 to 45-90minutes, which made it tough to try everything. But I guess that’s just part of the deal during peak season. We paid for priority parking and it was worth it, it’s super close to the entrance and only $5 more than regular. We got there about 30 minutes before opening and were first in line, which I’d definitely do again. We packed light, just towels, dry clothes, and water bottles and everything fit into the smallest locker. Saved a bit of money that way too. Our hotel (La Quinta) gave us a park ticket deal: $20 per person for the whole stay, which was way better than Groupon ($104 for 3 people for a day) or the park’s own price ($124 for 3 for one day). Food inside the park was actually decent and fresh. Expect to pay around $15–20 per meal. The wave pool was a highlight - perfect water temp, tons of space, and really strong waves. Super fun and a great spot to hang out and cool off.

Had amazing time here it did rain for the beginning of the day, but we still enjoyed all the rides. Some of the rides are a little scary but if you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll love it. I guess I’m just a baby ha ha ha. Great fun for the whole family.

Fun outdoor waterpark! A little bit for every age. My kids are 9, 8 and 6 and they had a great time. The park could use some updating, but it was a bit nostalgic so I didn't mind. We bought discounted tickets online and tailgated in the parking lot mid-way through the day to keep costs down. We went on a weekday, so the park wasn't crazy busy and we prefer that. Overall a fun time had by the entire family!
Alexandria I — Google review
What a fun day this place is! You can't get it all in in one day but wow there is something for everyone. We had a family of 6 small to large kids and man they all enjoyed it. We opened it up and shut it down. The chameleon was the family favorite. Food is pricy, I'd suggest getting a ticket deal that includes a meal for a discounted price totally worth it. You can save more by planning to picnic in the parking lot they have picnic tables out there you just can't bring food into the park. 10 out of 10 would go again. Tons of life guards felt very safe on all the rides. Totally worth a visit.

Wisconsin Deer Park is a 40-acre petting zoo that has been operating for over fifty years. It offers visitors the opportunity to interact with and feed over 100 deer, as well as other wildlife such as elk, bison, goats, lemurs, and llamas. The park's well-groomed trails provide an authentic experience where guests can get up close and personal with the animals while learning about their life cycles.
So fun and highly recommended! This was our favorite thing to do in Wisconsin Dells!! There's tons of deer just walking around and you can touch and feed them. I recommend buying the $1 deer food cups (inside of the deer park), because the deer will come to you. So fun and great for all ages.
David N — Google review
We had more fun than we expected! Absolutely enjoyable for all ages. We went right as they opened and I highly recommend doing that. It was nice and cool, the deer were happy to see us with the snacks we purchased for them, and it wasn’t crowded. Plenty of places to get more snacks for the deer and a clearly marked area to wash and sanitize your hands.
Melissa C — Google review
We really enjoyed this place. You can buy these wafer crisps for the deer and certain other animals. They will swarm you! I had a bunch of new deer friends following us around. It really was amazing to me. There are other animals as well. We'll be coming back for sure on future Dells trips. My only concern was the one female deer in with the buck, she looked a bit too thin to me. Watch out for deer droppings!
Amber M — Google review
We had a great time at Wisconsin Deer Park- it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! Before visiting, we saw reviews online saying not to waste money on the crackers sold at the entrance, but we didn’t have any issues with the deer eating them. We visited just after Labor Day weekend (off-season), around noon, and the deer were still very interested in food. Reviews often recommend coming earlier in the day when they’re hungrier, which makes sense, but we found them friendly and eager to interact even at midday. The setup was really special: you walk right through their habitat and the deer will come up to you, follow you around, and even let you pet them while feeding. They clearly preferred food to pets, but the experience was still magical and very safe. The second half of the park especially was full of friendly deer eager for snacks. There are also other animals in the park. Most seemed fine, but the lemurs looked a little understimulated, and the rabbits didn’t make a lot of sense to us since you can’t pet them (they bite). Their enclosures were large enough, but they didn’t have access to grass or roaming space- hopefully they get some time outside of their cages occasionally. Tips for visiting: • Definitely buy the crackers, we had a great experience with them. • Bring lots of quarters for the corn machines scattered throughout the park. • Plan to spend at least an hour or two walking through slowly, especially if you have kids. Overall, it’s a unique and memorable experience that we’d recommend to families visiting the Dells. Getting that close to the deer, and having them walk alongside you is something you won’t forget.
Christine F — Google review
Very clean park with very silly deer. Some of the deer are rather shy. Others will follow you around the whole park. It's nice to see the deer up close and give them some pets. Some of them are just there for the snacks. Others like a good scratch. My favorite part of the whole park was the muntjac deer. It came up to the fence and was very polite. I couldn't resist petting it. It LOVED scratches behind the horns. The other animals there seems we'll cared for. They are kept in smaller enclosures during the day. The different types of deer were very cool to see. Even one of the white tailed deer came up for a snack.

This was an awesome place to visit and I recommend everyone of all ages would love and have fun feeding the deer. The deer were so friendly and followed us while we were walking around. They are all so beautiful ❤️.
StarSeed — Google review
It was okay and the kids did enjoy it. Just wish we would've known that most of the loose animals eat the corn MUCH better than the crackers you buy inside. We bought three packs and barely went through two. I'd advise one pack for your group and to get your corn cups outside.
Matthew H — Google review
Fun and affordable for your family. Our 6 year old really wanted to go. Even the teens were smiling. The deer are friendly. Cute gift shop we got to pick out reminders of our trip at. We bought 10 packs of cracker at the entrance for our family of 6. Could have bought more- there were plenty of hungry deer.

Riverwalk in Wisconsin Dells offers a peaceful escape from the bustling Broadway Avenue. The half-mile paved pathway provides stunning views of the Wisconsin River and its sandstone cliffs, previously inaccessible to the public until 2003. Along the route, visitors can learn about the town's history and natural beauty through informational signs. The walkway also features game tables and benches for relaxation.
Nice 1/4 mile walk each way.oys of shade. Some bench seats along the way. Nice view of some cliffs. We said good morning to everyone but not everyone said good. Morning back lol. Best part, Free.

A very easy short walk along the river. Signs tell the history of the area. The Riverwalk Pub is right there. A good place to eat, drink and watch the game.

A beautiful, peaceful place for a nice walk with family or friends. The path is well-maintained, with scenic views of the river, plenty of benches to rest, and spots to take photos. Great for kids, strollers, and even wagons — easy to navigate and relaxing. Perfect for a morning or evening stroll, and you can even grab a snack or coffee nearby. Lovely, family-friendly spot to unwind and enjoy nature by the water!

Fantastic tour guides. John was very knowledgeable with fun history sprinkled with puns and jokes along the way. Breathtakingly beautiful! Get in line early so you can sit up on the top deck!

It is always an enjoyable walking experience. Not too long but sure enough to stretch your legs and go to the main street.

We did the Upper Dells Boat Tour and visited Witches Gultch. We also saw the dog jump thing, which was okay, but Witches Gultch was phenomenal! (Side note, if you sit in the back of the boat next to the left side gate, you get to get out first and should get photos without a ton of people in them.)

Park
Rocky Arbor State Park is a serene 144-acre park nestled in pine-tree forests and sandstone bluffs. It may be smaller than nearby Mirror Lake State Park, but it offers stunning scenery with a 1-mile trail winding through a beautiful sandstone gorge. The park features a campground with 89 sites, including some with electrical hookups, modern amenities like restrooms and showers, making it an ideal spot for camping between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
A stable, mostly flat short loop with some pretty bluffs on the low side and one you make the turn, a straight trail through the woods. If you’re a serious hiker it’s not going to be a good time for you- if you are looking for a leisurely hike in nature- you’ll be pleased. Some of the rocks are nice and close and ready to climb without much danger- if you have younger kids who you want to have a bit of adventure.
M S — Google review
We hiked the trail at Rocky Arbor, which was just over a mile in length. It was not very busy on a Saturday at 8am. Part of the trail was a bit muddy and slightly overgrown, but it was very nice on higher ground. Some stair cases on the trail (careful with a couple boards rotting), one short incline, and there were a lot of mosquitos and traffic from the highway can be heard. Pretty rock formations and trees to look at. There are picnic tables as well as a pavilion, pit toilets, and a playground.
Jenna H — Google review
Not much here. I drove in. Signs talking about ticks. A spot saying trails but didn't really look like much. I thought the trees 🌳 looked pretty sweet though. Never seen trees so thin so monstersly tall. After driving in. Looking around I left. Certainly didn't look like much to hike through. The rest of the park had spots for camping. This is right next to Wisconsin Dells so probably a cheaper alternative to hotels in the area.
Jim — Google review
This is our second time to this state park. We like the convenience of being able to slip away from the busy Dells to have a picnic lunch or stretch our legs. Therr is a nature trail that we did not utilize. The park doesnt have much, some swings, a slide (that was out of order) and a rock climbing wall, but it is enough to spark a little excitement. The true excitement came this last time when we found the coolest mushrooms and a little trail to a cave right behind the bathrooms.
Jamie S — Google review
A smaller State Park, but man what a great hiking trail and probably the most unique office of any of the parks! The main area offers restrooms, plenty of tables and grills, bubblers, a shelter, and a playground. The hiking trail is absolutely gorgeous! High rock formations on one side and beautiful marshland on the other. It's not an overly cumbersome hike, but you do need to watch your footing as there are many roots. I think we kicked and tripped on just about every root there walking while looking up at the rock formations, lol. There were so many weird swirls in the boulders. I suggest adding an informational sign about the creation of these unique patterns. There are two levels to the trail. I feel like the lower level has the better views, but the upper level is easier to traverse. The stairs at the far end are currently broken, so keep that in mind when visiting. Well worth visiting! Great hiking with great views, and a very nice park area.
Nathan F — Google review
This park is GREAT for camping, although it doesn’t really offer much else besides camping. When we hiked the one trail there, and it was not very maintained (it had grown in). If you are looking for a cheap place to stay near the Wisconsin Dells and are willing to camp, this is the place for you. We would camp there again if we wanted to camp very close to the Wisconsin Dells. We did like the park!
Sylvia P — Google review
The landscape and geological features of Rocky Arbor State Park are some of the more unique and interesting out of all of the Wisconsin state parks. The sandstone bluffs along the main hiking trail are a pretty sight to see. It's nice and close to Wisconsin Dells, so if you are in the area, it's definitely worth checking out.

The Original Wisconsin Ducks is a must-visit attraction in Wisconsin Dells, offering unique tours on amphibious vehicles that date back to World War II. The tour takes visitors through the picturesque Lake Delton and Wisconsin River, providing interesting insights about the environment and the city.
The whole family had a really great time on this tour. It lasts a little over an hour and cover some really cool and interesting spots. Our tour guide, Luke, was great. Towards the end the tour guides do attempt to sell you a book of information as well as postcards. The cost is $5, but the tour guy is supposedly buy them themselves so anything over $5 is basically a tip for them. I recommend that you have some cash to give them tips. After all, most of them are college kids working for the summer. They do sell beer food and other drinks that you can take on the duck boat with you.
Kim W — Google review
I have visited the Dells plenty of times in my life, but have never done the ducks, naturally when in town this past time we decided to give it a try and go for the Original. We visited early October and had no issue walking right up to the ticket window and then walking right onto the Duck. I assume it gets pretty busy in the summer and there is a maze of partitions for larger crowds, and a snack bar to hold you over until you get on the Duck. The driver and guide are great at balancing cheesy jokes and some time for you to enjoy the scenery and the ride. We learned a little about the history of the Ducks themselves, the Lake Delton area, and Wisconsin wildlife as we took about an hour long tour. It was great to see some scenery and lean about the history, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little something different to do than waterparks!
Anna R — Google review
We had a great time there. We bought the tickets when we got there and got onto the duck boat in about 10 minutes. It was fun riding on land and then into water twice. There's some great views on the river as well as through the woods.

Love them!! Excellent people! *Wish it wasn't as expensive as it is but ...even saving online only helps a little..they should offer more discounts! Such a fun and educational fun fact mini hour vacation there! This was my 5th time in my life. Love the drivers/guides. It's definitely a MUST GO TO THING AT THE DELLS! A++ We had Captain Jack Garwood and my hubby purchased the little Sales pitch thingy at the end BECAUSE JACK WAS awesome! Very funny and passionate about it! Java Sea Duck. It's a MUST to-do for ALL ages at the Dells..THE ORIGINAL DUCKS!! This one is just so cool and pretty, historical, fun, etc. Do the ORIGINAL!!
Michelle S — Google review
A truly unique experience in the Wisconsin Dells. Worth the price of admission and fun for all ages. Parents will appreciate the history more than kids, but the scenery and the land/water drives keeps the kids engaged. Our tour guide, Luke, was wonderful. He kept us laughing with corny jokes and navigated the amphibious vehicle with ease. Tour lasts approximately one hour and it was nice that they were departing about every 5 minutes so we weren’t waiting in line to board. I appreciate seeing college kids working their summers all through the Dells - and Luke was no exception. He has a bright future!
Ashley W — Google review
We had a great experience with the Wisconsin ducks boat tour. The guide was super fun and got to ride the very interesting boat that runs on both land and water. Took a lot of pictures throughout the tour. Definitely recommend.
Atika H — Google review
It was a lot of fun! The tour guide was full of dad jokes as we went along. Be prepared that they will pull the boat over and try to sell you a small book of the tour you just took with a packet of postcards. Also, they take your picture as you're waiting to get on the boat and you will be stopped by some people with a packet of that photo asking you to pay $20 for it. I didn't like the sales pitches, but everything was great. The time of the ride was just perfect. Not too short, not too long. Don't sit in the back seats! Lol

Great tour. Madeline was great!! Her dad jokes were funny!! The booklet was very reasonable priced which is basically your tip for the driver. Would recommend. Our group already mailed some of the postcards back home to family.

Nature preserve
Dells of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area is a stunning gorge formed during the last ice age, offering visitors the chance to observe rock formations and cliffs by boat. The Chapel Gorge Trail provides an easy 1.5-mile trek through dense hardwood forest, leading to a secluded beach where picnickers and paddlers relax along the shoreline.
Absolutely stunning rock formations and breathtaking views of nature! This is an experience you definitely don’t want to miss. There are several ways to explore the canyons and river, depending on your preference. We chose a boat tour that included two scenic stops, where we were able to dock and walk through the heart of the canyons—it truly felt like stepping into another world. For a more relaxed pace, there are also horse-drawn carriage rides that take you through parts of the canyon, adding a charming, old-fashioned touch to the adventure. Overall, it was a mind-blowing experience and a perfect way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Wisconsin Dells.

The river tour cruise was amazing. For that low price, and you get 2 amazing stops to check out and it all lasts for 2 hrs.Not just a boring boat ride. They have a concession stands and bathrooms at the stops. Henry and Seth were amazing guides had great jokes and wonderful information.

Nice, well kept trail leading to a beach on the river. Beach was clean and nice soft sand. The view offers a little bit of the dells natural beauty. We were there on a busy August Saturday so it was crowded with alot of boat traffic. Personally if we go again, we'll pick a weekday.

The venue also features a bar serving local drafts and hosts live music performances by Midwest artists. Visitors can enjoy the quirky dining experience with unique seating options both inside an old Greyhound bus hanging from the rafters and outdoors.
Absolutely Worth It! The food was worth every penny. We ate at the taco food truck, and the street tacos and street corn were phenomenal—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. They also offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, available in various sizes. The best part? Drinks come in souvenir cups that you can bring back the next day for a free refill during your stay at the Dells. Great food, fun vibe, and a nice perk for return visitors!

THE MOST HAPPENING PLACE IN WISCONSIN DELLS!! Open till 2am, this place is perfect for the whole family to enjoy!. This place has multiple food trucks indoors as well as a full bar, Live music and a variety of cool places to sit (for example a real size bus hanging from the ceiling! And old school modified vans). They have a large outdoor patio with a fire pit, games and plenty of sitting areas. We had the wings and pizza and it was a 10 out of 10 hands down! Super fresh and very flavorful!. We also got some alcoholic beverages, nice and strong (fun fact, if you buy a drink off their special menu, you get a fun free cup and refills are 9dlls after the 1st drink). Staff were super friendly and fast! Very good customer service. Overall we had a blast here!. 100% recommended!. P.S They have a go kart track as well!.

Was really stoked for this place because of the theme & atmosphere. It sort of ended up being a bust. Not sure if we would come back here if we came to the Dells again. The shining star was the strawberry daiquiris which I got in a souvenir cup. Their souvenir cups were good and cute designs. The interior was awesome and very captivating. We got a bacon mac & cheese pizza and it was very subpar. Wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great. We wished there was an option for a side of sauce like hot sauce or a ranch. Food was pretty mid, but drinks were alright. Fun to check out if you’ve never been there before.

This is a cool spot to hang out. However, I ended up getting sick after eating a burger here. But my kids really enjoy this place, so I'd rate it a four out of five for the atmosphere.
Charlie L — Google review
The atmosphere was pretty good. I absolutely love the black lights that they had. The music was great. The food was absolutely amazing. The mini sliders were probably have to be my favorite. Soda was a little pricey. It is kind of loud inside and really hard to hear conversations. They had cornhole outside. And there's also one of those phone boxes that you'd see in England. It is a rather lively place especially on a Saturday night.

WOW!!! This was a really cool place to stop in and eat at and I loved the atmosphere. Street tacos were delicious and messy lol. Pizza was tasty and my daughter loved the trash can nachos. Definitely one of the coolest places to hang out at in Wisconsin Dells. The staff were great as well and I had to buy myself a Greatful Shed T-shirt plus they gave me some bumper stickers for buying a T-shirt which was awesome.
Eclipse M — Google review
Been to the Dells a bunch of times. First time here and feel like I missed out all the other times! This place is AWESOME! Live bands, fire pits outside, family games like bags or a huge tick tac toe stand. Like 8 food trucks inside that sell any food you want. Old 70s bushes and vehicles like on Pulp Fiction you can sit and eat in.
B M — Google review
I think I counted 5 food trucks? It’s like a “food court” of permanent food trucks. It is so modern, and so Instagram worthy. 1,000 times would recommend. There are cool places to sit, benches, picnic tables, and refurbished vehicles to sit in. There is outdoor seating also with cute lights and small burning flames to keep mosquitos away. My husband and I got an assortment of items, from multiple trucks. We divided and conquered there was too many to choose from which was why we had to try a few of them! This is such a wonderful spot for date night. Do not hesitate to bring your boo here.

The Del-Bar is a timeless and classy supper club located in Wisconsin Dells, with a rich history dating back to 1943. The swanky Prairie-style venue was designed by James Dresser, an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright. This family-owned establishment offers an intimate dining experience with a menu featuring steak and seafood fare, complemented by a selection of fine wines and cocktails.
Me & my wife went for our anniversary. When I made the reservation on Open Table I marked it was our anniversary. Right away we were told happy anniversary and were seated in our own little room off the dining area. Our waitress also acknowledged and gave us free champagne and offered to take our picture for us. The atmosphere was nice. I had a bourbon old fashioned. I think I liked Ishnala’s better. We ordered the cheese curds and they were on par with Ishnala. I had the prime rib which I thought was better than Ishnala’s but wish the portion was bigger. The experience overall was great and couldn’t have asked for a better waitress. Would go back if had the opportunity.

It was my first time trying escargots. I liked their seasoning but it was a bit salty for me. But the oysters we ordered were amazing and super fresh! The salmon plate was good, but I didn’t really enjoy the wild rice pilaf. The service was great!!
G L — Google review
Our steaks were very good, well seasoned and a decent cut. My wife really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and my hash browns were good. We werr each disappointed with our "Wisconsin brandy old fashioneds", they were sub par for an upscale establishment with prices like this, worst of all they were made from a mix with no muddled fruit. We were also not happy with our table. It felt like we were in the middle of a high traffic area that should not have a table.

I have been going to the Del-Bar since I was young. Between my family and I, we have had most items on their menu and can honestly say nothing has ever disappointed us. Everything has consistently been great. We were traveling on the road today and I just had to stop for the best French Onion Soup on the planet!!! Their soup is homemade with a savory chicken broth. They don’t skimp on the fresh cheese either. When you sit down, you are greeted with a lovely cracker basket and ice water. Rolls and butter are also served. We topped off our visit with a shared Turtle Cheesecake. Absolute heaven!!! Their service is always top notch. We had the pleasure of being served by Chris today. Chris was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very modern MCM styled, which reminds me of my childhood, so, it’s a lovely step back into time. A true 5* dining experience.

We received a gift card for the Del-Bar and went for an anniversary meal. It did not disappoint. I had prime rib and my wife had walleye. Both were excellent. The prime was rare, as ordered, and very tender. Her walleye was lightly breaded, flaky, and delicious. Old Fashioneds were very good also. Complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary was a nice touch. Thanks for a nice evening.

Roy our server was fantastic and explained the menu options wonderfully. The stakes were amazing and the butter and blue cheese put it over the top. The old fashions and the vibe made our night one to remember. Will be back next time we are in town.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Highly Recommend! I can’t say enough wonderful things about The Del Bar! From the moment we arrived, Cheyenne S. and Phillip, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, especially with all my food allergies. They made me feel completely safe and cared for, which is something I don’t take for granted when dining out. Cheyenne was absolutely amazing. She told me she couldn’t let me not have something special for my birthday, so she surprised me with the sweetest gesture, a glass filled with fresh raspberries, garnished with lime and lemon, and even topped with a birthday candle. It honestly made my night! I actually had tears I was so happy! Phillip and the team didn’t take advantage of our unique situation; instead, they treated us with kindness, honesty, and genuine hospitality. Every detail was thoughtful, and the entire experience felt special from start to finish. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares about their guests, The Del Bar is it. I can’t recommend them enough!

Absolutely incredible. A must-try for anyone looking for good food and good atmosphere. My family has not been able to stop talking about this place since we visited a month ago! Sometimes supper clubs with such a unique and moody atmosphere will have some pretty sub-par food because they are relying on aesthetics, not this place. The food was absolutely exceptional, foods that you don’t think can be exceptional ARE here! The sweet potato fries surprised me, we had to do a double take on the cauliflower mash potatoes because we thought they were regular potatoes on the first taste. This meal is worth every penny, we recommend it to anyone we know!

Timber Falls Adventure Park is a seasonal amusement park that offers a variety of thrilling attractions. The park features four miniature golf courses set in the shade of pine trees overlooking the Wisconsin River, providing a picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy. In addition to mini-golf, the park boasts adventurous rides such as the Timber Wolf Log Flume and the Hellcat Roller Coaster, which features 12 drops and turns reaching up to 70 degrees.
You are probably trying to decide between Pirates Cove and Timber Falls mini golf right now. If it's hot and sunny, go to Timber Falls, it has significant tree cover and shade, being built in and around forest. Otherwise you can't really go wrong. They both have decent courses. Given that Pirates Cove has 5, ranked by difficulty, if you want to get in multiple rounds and you are a bit more into mini golf or pirate themes, and the weather is comfortable, then that's probably the better choice. If you like forest and river ambience, Timber Falls has 3 courses which will still be a lot of fun.

Great mini golf for young families! Kids are free with adult up to age 5, which made it a better value for us than other bigger, fancier courses nearby. The “petting zoo” is just a small pen with goats and a donkey, but the kids loved it. Sad the water was not running, but views of the river and the way the course is built around real trees on a real bluff still made it picturesque.
Carolyn K — Google review
Timber Falls Mini Golf: I've been going to the Dells since I was a kid in the 90s and this place has been around even longer than that as it opened in 1989. They currently offer three different courses that are easy, moderate, or hard in terms of difficulty. That's a total of 54 holes as each contains 18. Patrons can choose from a myriad of colorful golf balls to help distinguish them among the different members of your party. The course offers some nice scenic water features. A few sections of the property could use an update, but overall, the property is in good shape. Families can also enjoy the petting zoo, which features goats and a donkey. Pirates Cove is still my favorite, but Timber Falls is a nice alternative and typically less crowded.
Travis ( — Google review
This is one of the most unique mini golf locations we have played, with 3 courses of varying degrees of difficulty woven together in a maze of logger-themed greens that take you up and down and through in fun and creative ways. We did the red course and, based on other reviews, it may be the most interesting, with just the right amount of fun and challenge. There is wear and tear in places but it didn't detract from our play and overall I'd definitely recommend. In fact, I enjoyed it more than the course we played at the neighboring Pirate's Cove.
Crimson S — Google review
We went on 90 degree day (July 3). Lots of shade. No line or wait. Seems like some improvements have been made but overall the experience was underwhelming for our group of 5, with three teens. The holes were not interesting, pretty basic but worked. The main water feature was murky and not flowing at all. It was gross. Another water feature was working and looked nice. Again, we thought it was an interesting experience to golf in the trees by the river but were disappointed at the upkeep. It felt a bit overpriced for what you get. The attached pic is from the only interesting hole on the black course. Too bad some of the trees weren’t cleared for a better view!

I did not go here but I walked past and saw these flies absolutely obliterating this donkey's leg. I feel that if you're going to exploit the animals and having a petting zoo then you should be taking care of the animals to the fullest extent. The lest you could do is pray them down with animal safe bug repellent.

Came for mini golf but stayed for the goats and donkey lol 🫏 🐐 ⛳️ This mini golf course is a lot of fun with many different things to se as you progress throughout the course. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. They have ice cream cones full of animal feed you can buy before or after you play. This mini golf petting zoo is the perfect combo!

We had fun there but wish we were there earlier in the season so that the water was flowing. The mini golf course wasn't too difficult and the views were great. There was no wait getting in.

We stayed the weekend and the guy that checked us in was a delight to chat with. We were able to check-in a little early. The room was clean & beds comfortable. Loved the indoor & outdoor heated pools. Also they offer some free passes to Dells activities. Pricing was reasonable and I'd definitely come back.

The atmosphere here is so friendly! The staff is responsive, helpful, and nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. It’s close to downtown, I walked downtown from the hotel every day. The indoor and outdoor pools are clean and inviting. This was my first year here. I spoke to other guests hanging out at the pool, most have been coming here for years! I may need to make this an annual tradition too!

This place is number 1 in Wisconsin Dells for a good reason. Family owned and operated by a multi generational native local family. Perfectly clean and taken care of like a caring person would take care of their own family home. The big chain establishments give no comparison when you want a god, clean, quiet place to sleep. I definitely would go back and can highly recommend the Black Hawk. This is for you if you want to get away from the institutional chains and just want true American value.

We have been going here for a while, this is legit the best motel we’ve ever been to. Even though it’s small from the outside it’s like a collage campus! Pool is clean both inside and out! Deep end is clean too! The one downside is when something goes out of order it stays that way. The last time we went here in 2022 the sauna was out of order and it still is. Otherwise great place for a family romantic or friend trip hotel to stay at!

Disappointed and Overcharged We booked a jacuzzi room for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. I became sick the first day, so we decided to skip that night and simply arrive on the second night, fully expecting to lose the cost of the first night. We had already paid in full. When we arrived, we were shocked to learn the entire reservation had been canceled—including the second night we’d planned to stay. Staff explained they had rebooked the room because we “didn’t show up,” even though we’d already paid for both nights. To make matters worse, they offered no clear policy explaining this, and my follow-up email asking for the policy has gone unanswered. Other local hotels told me they would at least call the guest before canceling and would never cancel a second night that was already paid. Instead, we had to pay for a completely new booking elsewhere—essentially paying for three nights to stay just one—while the hotel profited by reselling our room. We didn’t want to argue on our anniversary, but this experience was extremely disappointing and felt unfair. Until they address this policy and customer service issue, I cannot recommend this property.

We just happened to choose this motel as we were heading back home. We got there a week before peak season, so it was very quiet. The pool was clean, and having a hot tub and sauna was amazing to sit in. Small arcade for the kids to enjoy and the playground was more than enough for them to burn some energy off. Now the rooms are in the classic 70s 80s style, but that doesn't take anything away from them. They were clean, and the beds were fairly comfortable. Our only "issue" was that the tv remote did not work properly, so we couldn't change the channels, but we were just there for the night, so that didn't bother us much at all.
James D — Google review
This is our fourth or fifth time staying here. We love it. Service is great, it’s a cute hotel, but the most important thing to us is that it’s clean. And it is always very clean. Location is great and price is reasonable. It’s also quiet.

Bowman Park is a spacious and fun community park located on the south side of Broadway. It offers various amenities such as a band shell stage, playground equipment, lighted basketball courts, picnic shelter with tables and grills, and bathroom facilities. The park also features a Stable Building that can be rented for family picnics or birthday parties.
Fun park! It's quite large. There's a bandshell, picnic area, playground, water fountain, and lots of area to run around/roll down hills. Good for little and big kids. It was fun to see the classic old lion water fountain! But it's turned off, either because of the season or Covid. The kids liked the large, decorative water fountain and asked fo come back and see it again! Also nice that they had indoor bathrooms available 👍
Katie D — Google review
It's such a nice place for kids. The playground is very kid safe, and the ground is padded!
Janice D — Google review
Small but might. Super fun and cute. Kids loved the playset and swings. And the lion drinking fountain was fun got pics. Big patio and picnic tables next to park for picnic lunches. Not too far down the main strip. Lots of trees and nature. Kids found a caterpillar. :) Ps I asked a local Wisconsin dad what the best candy store was and he said goody goody gum drop (2 locations). They loved the one closest to the park and got a lot of rubber duckies out of the claw machine (1$) that was play til you win! Sometimes they got two at once.
Marla K — Google review
Great community park. Park features multiple play structures, swings, two basketball courts, pavilion, bandshell, and a large open grassy area with some mature trees for shade. Plenty of benches and picnic tables. Park was well maintained and clean.

Filled with busses of kids and screaming obnoxious teachers heard from the other side of the park. 10/10 would recommend for casual headache enjoyers.

Nice we place to relax. The best of the Dells is free, you just have to leave the main streets and junk food and visit the well kept parks. Sadly, the pay phone was removed from the phone booth.

Great setup and clean playground for all your younger children along with three basketball courts

The kids had a great time playing here. I wish it said whether or not pets are allowed here. Maybe it does somewhere but I didn't see any signs. Would be a great place to take your dog walking around. Nice grassy area for the kids to play around in as well.

Nice hotel. I have stayed here for my 5th time. There is no more free breakfast, or a arcade. Great service and friendly. Pool was clean and warm. Within walking distance to shops and bars. They have a wonderful gas station across the street, that is packed with whatever u desire. Bed was comfy...
Ray D — Google review
The pool here is great because it has a big deep end. The rooms are very nice and the beds are very comfortable. It is a teeny bit further from Noah's ark and Mount Olympus but it's worth the travel. It is walkable distance to downtown dells where you can go to showboat saloon or the ghost boat outdoor bar. Very close to Big boy that has good burgers as well. There are plenty of Ubers to get around. I'll definitely be back to hang out in the pool in the sauna. I love a pool that has a nice 9 ft deep end and plenty area to swim around.

Lighting in the room could have been better, place was clean and really central we were able to walk to most things in the downtown area. Pool was nice, and deep warm. We went off season so it was really affordable, and the front desk was as helpful as I needed

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! It offers both an indoor and an outdoor pool, providing great options for relaxation no matter the weather. The hotel is definitely worth the cost, with incredibly comfortable beds that made for a restful night's sleep. Parking was convenient and hassle-free, and we loved that downtown was just a short walk away. Overall, a great experience!

Do not stay here. Outside doors do not lock leading in. There was a mouse in our room. No sympathy and acted like this was a normal occurrence. No manager onsite. Was told they would call us. Never did. Called back up there and was reassured she would call. Never did. Ended up having to come back into the hotel and demanding to speak to her. Gave us a 15% discount only to take back half of it according to our credit card statement.

Great hotel for anyone who wants to use the indoor and outdoor pool. This hotels, both indoor and outdoor pool are different to the La Quinta I’ve stayed at in Fort Collins, which is where I’m gonna stay after I leave Chicago. Anyways, here’s the good and the bad. The good: -Clean rooms -Spectrum boxes -cowboy shaped lamps -indoor and outdoor pool (similar to the indoor and outdoor pools at the La Quinta Fort Collins) -Clean bathroom -Quick entry to the pool (indoor) -Picnic tables The bad: -Alarm clock is unplugged -Drain open/close (idk what it is) won’t open -there is a game room, but it’s not accessible There are many benefits and there are other hotels nearby from this hotel, generally according to the street view, there is a hotel next-door with is trails end motel. Unfortunately, this hotel likes to keep everything secure so you cannot go over next-door. otherwise, they would kick you out with no refunds. The 3 cons are what the hotel needs to need to improve. But I’m definitely coming back here. Great service!!
Erick L — Google review
Shower curtain bar fell off and hit me in the head. The lighting is poor and the pillows were hard. There are no phones in the room so when a domestic argument raged on thru the night there was no one to call. You could hear every swear word being hollered by the participants until 3am when someone finally called the cops. The doors spring shut loudly. The coffee in the room is terrible. Not a great experience here. Use this place as a last resort. Emergency only.
Marla S — Google review
Rooms were newly remodeled and clean. Showers are walk in and nice. We could not get the heat/air to regulate on its own so it wasn't comfy night's rest even though beds are comfy. It was also dry with heat running. Nice sauna. Issues with where and how to get into pool and game rooms - some obvious entrances locked. Pool a bit chilly. We had friends in apartment which was beautiful and staff was super attentive to them. Great location off the main drag but with a Kwik Trip right across the street and plenty within a mile.

The motel features a seasonal outdoor pool and provides easy access to downtown Wisconsin Dells, where guests can explore shops, restaurants, and various attractions on foot.
Back for our 3rd or 4th year in a row. It's our favorite place to stay while in the Dells. Great valued price, super friendly staff, love the pool, great location to downtown. Rooms aren't the Ritz, but you are paying the Ritz price. But for what you pay they wont be beat it. Its clean with nice soft sheets n pillows, micro & fridge. If you are looking for a relaxing place to lay your head and not break the bank. For sure worth checking them out.

Our family has been coming to The Colonial Motel for many years. The location is perfect, the located right downtown the nostalgic area of the Dells. The owners.. Very kind, accommodating, and friendly. The motel, always clean with such a quaint right at home feeling. We are very sad to see that the business is for sale. We can only hope that the next owners are as welcoming and that nothing here changes, it's perfect. We always know what to expect here, which is comforting, and it's what keeps us coming back. Cleanest motel I've ever stayed in. Loved the extra amenities in the office. Great coffee. Plenty of outdoor seating for games/snacks. The pool is warm but drops quickly from 3' to 9'. If you can't swim, stay in shallow area. Had to rescue adult and older child yesterday cuz neither could swim and pulled each other under. Rescue tools were available.

We stayed here for one night, on July 26, 2023. The owner was very nice , and very accommodating. The rooms are not fancy , reminds me of the old roadside hotels , but they were very , very clean , and the beds were really comfortable. The motel is in the downtown area of Wisconsin Dells , in walking distance to the shops and some attractions (Haunted Mansion , Ripley’s , etc ) , lots of restaurants and bars also in this area . The motel has a nice pool. The owner allowed us to stay parked at his motel , after check out, so we didn’t have to move our car , to a metered parking space, which saved us some money .He also told us we could use the pool for the rest of the day , if we wanted to. I highly recommend this place , we will definitely stay here again.

I can’t put a 0 star we came booked our room and the lady up in the front office had a bad attitude the room we got had a musty smell the carpet floor was sticky the toilet was outdated but clean the shower area was clean the drain area was metal and painted over with white paint it was rusty like u could get a cut from it the head board was dusty the small fridge in the room was very out dated the door only had one lock on it says the pool is heated but water was cold and the pool area on the bottom looks like it’s chipping the water slide was not working the location is on the strip there is a car wash and laundry mat in front restaurant’s and a Kwik Trip near by our bathroom does not look like in the pictures all windows are left open maybe because of the smell we check in at 3pm and check out at 330pm because the smell was too strong maybe not good for someone with respiratory issues. All sells are final.

As a business owner myself, I try hard to give independently owned motels my business. Unfortunately I wasn’t even given a chance at this motel. My husband and I were traveling home to MN from a week in Key West, and when we realized we needed to get off the road and rest we specifically chose Wisconsin Dells because of the several independently owned lodging choices. We called the Colonial in advance, gave our name, phone number, time of arrival and asked if they would like our card number. They were pleasant on the phone, quoted us a rate and said we could take care of it when we arrived. Upon arrival my husband went to the office, they did not let him in (it was 7 degrees outside), asked if he was a local.. and when he said no, they asked for a $150 cash only deposit. ???? We were very tired, so while he didn’t expect the deposit, he asked if they would put it on our card. They declined and said cash only. He asked if they mentioned the deposit to me on the phone, they said no. He asked if he would get the deposit back, and they did not answer. So then admittedly my husband had a couple of choice words for them… and we left. We originally were going to book through a third party, and no mention of any deposit there either in the terms. We called direct because we know third party booking sites take up to 15% of the room rate, and we’d rather give it to the business owner. We were also arriving around 10pm so wanted to make sure they would still have their lobby open. We found another independently owned room down the street, and had a very pleasant check in. We travel by road all over the country. Nothing like this has ever happened to us. It was a very odd situation. I teased him that he was profiled because of his beard… but he thinks that they actually did profile him. Sure, we were road weary from being in our truck for MANY hours. Places of lodging should be used to that though. If we turned away every customer from our restaurant that looked a little scruffy, we’d be out of business quickly.

Dells Kayak Rentals was a perfect experience for my friend and I. The employees offer amazing service and are very friendly and helpful. The equipment is all in excellent shape. The stretch of river is absolutely stunning, with several spots to stop at beaches, including a public one with a restroom. The put in take out spot are incredibly easy as well. Hoping to visit the Dells again soon and kayak with Dells Kayak Rentals again!!

Just do it! It worth every penny and every minute you spend on kaiaking. I was intimidated at first by the swirling water coming from the water dam .. The owner reassured my group that the river becomes more steady after we turn. And that’s how it went…. If you want peace and serenity take 9:00 am tour. Ducks and speed boats are not on the river until later in the day. Yes, you will encounter waves, get wet etc. but you will also see unique rock formations and go through cave. I would do it again!

Me and my boyfriend did this weekend and it was amazing. It was nice that it was just the two of us, not feeling the need to rush. Took us about 2 hours with plenty of stops. I would recommend this place and I would definitely come back. The scenic view was beautiful. Be prepared to get wet. The jet boats come by and I got soaked by the big waves. The guy who checked us in was super friendly, along with the guys that picked us up. Thank you again.
Maria W — Google review
They advertised beginners welcome, but if it's a busy river with the jet boats, then it may not be suitable in that regard. We did have some difficulty due to that, but it's just a busy river at times. It's probably better to go earlier in the day before they are real active. Otherwise it's a beautiful scenic kayak ride.

Stopped in at this store this past weekend. My significant other was really interested in a firefighter shirt they had hanging as he's a first responder. He had taken a tshirt off a hanger to see if there was anything on the back of it (as it was folded only showing some of the shirt) while it was hanging up. As we were looking at it the lady behind the desk yelled out across the entire store full of people saying she doesnt want people taking stuff off the hanger, and if he wanted to see shirt sizes then ask her. She had never even asked if maybe he needed help or had any questions instead she scolded him. While he was trying to fold it properly to hang back up she came by us, and hovered around to watch..as he was noticeably struggling, and embarrassed she tells him she'll put it back. He apologized, and then handed the shirt over to her.. she rudely asked him where the pins were that keep the shirt folded while hanging. He wasnt aware of any that were on the shirt used for the folding, and she made the snarky comment about that being why she doesnt want people unfolding anything. I was very shocked and disappointed with her customer service, and we left immediately without purchasing anything. We will not be back after this experience. If she would have approached him, and nicely asked/explained why she didnt want people doing that we would have been completely understanding.

And because I didn't bring money,(due to it being her shopping day), MO was sweet enough to make my day by giving me a free bracelet because I said it reminded me of my deceased father who was in the Navy and never honored.
