Fujisawa in 4 days

If you only have 4 days to spend in Fujisawa, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Fujisawa is a coastal city on the Shōnan shoreline, known for easy access to Enoshima Island with its shrines, caves, gardens, and lighthouse observatory overlooking Sagami Bay and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. The area’s sandy beaches attract swimmers and surfers in summer, giving the city a relaxed seaside atmosphere close to Tokyo. Fujisawa Station is a key stop for the Odakyu Line and the Enoshima Electric Railway, making it a convenient base for visiting nearby Kamakura and other Shōnan towns. Historic sites such as Yugyō-ji Temple add a quieter, traditional side to the otherwise lively waterfront.
With favorites like Fujisawa Bistro hamburger, Hasedera, and Amami, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Enoshima Uomi-tei and Amami so you can get the best taste of Fujisawa while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Kotoku-in, a serene temple in Kamakura, is famous for its monumental outdoor bronze statue of the Buddha. The 14-meter-tall Great Buddha is the symbolic image of Kamakura and one of the most popular attractions in the area. Originally housed inside a wooden structure, it now stands proudly in the open air after being swept away by a tsunami in 1495.
An absolute must-see in Kamakura! The highlight is, of course, the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), an impressive bronze statue sitting in the open air that leaves you speechless with its scale and serenity. The temple grounds are peaceful, well kept, and easy to walk around, making it a perfect spot to take in the history and atmosphere. It’s a place that perfectly blends cultural significance with a calm, spiritual vibe. Easy to reach from Kamakura Station, and definitely one of the most iconic landmarks in Japan. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

**Kotoku-in (鎌倉大仏殿高徳院) – Kamakura** Visiting Kotoku-in to see the **Great Buddha** was an amazing experience. The massive bronze statue is truly impressive, and walking around it gives a sense of the history and craftsmanship behind it. The temple grounds are peaceful, and there’s a calm, spiritual atmosphere despite the crowds. You can even go **inside the Buddha**, which is a unique experience. It’s very easy to reach from Hase Station, and the entrance fee is reasonable. Perfect for anyone visiting Kamakura for culture, history, and incredible photo opportunities!
Asaad A — Google review
You can't go to Kamakura and not see the Great Buddha. It's a quick but worthwhile stop. The statue is massive and very cool to see in person. We stopped by during the day, and it wasn't too crowded. We also found a nice refrigerator magnet at the gift shop on the way out.
Daniel B — Google review
When you arrive to Kotoku-in you absolutely remain amazed to the majesty of Great Big Buddha. With a small extra ticket you can also enter inside of the statue. The park it’a perfectly preserved and when I coming in early morning there aren’t so many people.
Daniele B — Google review
I visited Kōtoku-in to see the Great Buddha of Kamakura, and it was amazing. The statue is really impressive and peaceful to look at. The area around it is calm and nice to walk around. It’s a great place to visit if you’re in Kamakura!
Laloena A — Google review
I find it very peaceful. Many people seem to have main character syndrome and cannot read rules regarding statues. But the ambience is very nice. It is a temple so it is supposed to be not loud but why can you buy a whistle in the souvenir shop 😅
The H — Google review
The highlight of Kamakura. This giant bronze Buddha was built in 1243 and is very impressive. Beautiful grounds to explore and emulets for good fortune for purchase. Credit cards accepted here. Easy 4 min train ride from Kamakura station on the Green train(Endoran line) to Hase station. 10 min walk from there.
AdamLTW — Google review
Kamakura is among my favorite places in Japan. It's a small seaside town with a lot to offer. Kotoku-in is one of the must see places in Kamakura. Locals and tourists alike floods the place to see the giant copper Buddha, understandably so as it is a magnificent sight to experience. It sits in the open air, being exposed to various elements as evident by its distinctive blue-green color. By the time we arrived at the temple at 12 noon, the place is already flocked with tourists, so it's better if you come early to avoid huge crowds. The temple opens at 8 to 8:30 am, depending on the season so it's better to check out their website for more details. Positive points 1. There's a handicap and bicycle parking spaces. 2. Clean restrooms despite the huge crowd. 3. You can enter the Great Buddha and see its interior. 4. There's a lot of merchandise to choose from.

Kamakura Hasedera is a historic Buddhist temple and garden complex dating back to the 8th century. It is renowned for its colossal wooden statue of the deity Kannon, standing over 9 meters tall, as well as a golden statue of Amida measuring 3 meters. The temple's grounds are adorned with numerous Jizo statues, known as protectors of travelers and unborn children.
Wonderful, peaceful and quiet temple. I especially liked sitting in the garden and listening to the gentle streams of water. I would recommend arriving early to avoid crowds as the location would lose its charm with more people . The entrance costs 400 yen and you can pay only with cash.
Gaurav R — Google review
Beautiful temple with amazing sea views and peaceful gardens. You can pay by card at machines (cashier is cash-only), and even the charms can be bought using a credit card — first time I’ve seen that! Inside there’s a small cave with tunnel-like passages and carvings — really unique and worth visiting. Come early in the morning before it gets crowded.
Julia P — Google review
I had a great time wandering around the temple in May this year. This was totally worth your time to nourish your mind and body with the beautiful zen garden, stunning Japanese architecture, and as a Buddhist, I am stunned by the large Buddha statue sitting in the main temple. I used to practice meditation but somehow lately have not been actively doing so, but there I could feel the steadiness and peace in the air flowing through my mind. Highly recommend this temple if you are going to Kamakura.
Cheryl L — Google review
This temple overall was a very nice place with gorgeous views. I was happy that they took credit card to gain entrance into the temple (note many places in Kamakura take only cash). I was a bit disappointed that there were so many places/vendors charging for everything once you entered. I never thought I’d have to pay for a prayer or blessing. It was nice to visit and experience.
Ayanna K — Google review
If Kamakura were a mixtape, Hasedera would be the “chill vibes only” track. Officially, it’s a Buddhist temple complex famous for its eleven-headed Kannon statue (yes, eleven...because apparently one head wasn’t enough). Unofficially, it’s a mash-up of zen gardens, koi ponds, bell towers & enough moss to make any landscaper cry with envy. The grounds include the 1000 Jizō statues, which look like a stone army politely waiting for instructions. Spoiler: they don’t move, but they do photograph like a dream. There’s also a cave with carvings if you want something moodier, and a terrace view that reminds you why the Japanese built things on hills. Helpful bit: it’s about a 5–10 minute walk from Hase Station on the Enoden line. Go early if you want quiet; go later if you want to test your patience with crowds. Either way, bring your camera & maybe a coin or two for the donation boxes. This place is serene, photogenic, and just spiritual enough that even atheists leave feeling oddly refreshed.
Jim R — Google review
This temple differs from others mainly because of the stunning location. Being able to see the sea is quite lovely. This temple has multiple different outdoor spots to discover. There are also picnic tables in the shade to cool off, and ice cream.
Rosalie C — Google review
We were they in May 2025. The temple is quiet and peaceful. I love the cute little monks statues there. Try to get there early then you will have the whole place to yourself.
Narumon E — Google review
This place was absolutely stunning and completely worth the entrance fee. Just a heads up,it’s cash only, so be sure to bring some with you. I adored this temple. The vibe was immaculate: peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly relaxing. One of the highlights is the gorgeous lookout point at the top, where you get a breathtaking view of the ocean. It’s such a calming place to pause and take it all in. Down below, there’s a small cave area with a tunnel you can walk through. I highly recommend doing that, it's a really cool experience and adds something unique to the visit. The entire area is beautifully maintained, with clean, immaculate grounds. If you’re visiting during the summer, bring an umbrella and some cooling spray because it does get hot. Still, even in the heat, this temple was a 10 out of 10 for me. Truly one of the most memorable and visually beautiful spots I’ve visited.

Kencho-ji is a vast Zen temple complex located in a peaceful setting with beautiful gardens and a trail that offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji. The temple boasts impressive wooden gates and features cultural treasures such as the Buddha of the Tibetan king, the 1000-handed Guanyin, and an ascetic statue of Sakya from Pakistan. The solemn atmosphere and noble architecture create a sense of reverence for visitors.
Love this temple. It has a nice route to walk the complex and if you are up for it you can climb the mountain to the observatory. It has a great view and on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji.
Max M — Google review
Established in 1253 by regent Hōjō Tokiyori, Kenchō-ji is the first Zen monastery in Japan situated in Kamakura. Deep both spiritually and historically, this is Kamakura's first of the Five Great Zen Temples. The temple complex is roomy and peaceful with its classic Zen architecture, grand Sanmon (main gate), and beautifully landscaped garden built by Musō Soseki. Among the highlights are the monument of Jizō Bosatsu in the Butsuden (Buddha Hall) and the tranquil Zen garden behind the residence of the chief priest for introspection. Especially in autumn when the colors are amazing, Kenchō-ji offers a unique setting by blending seriousness with natural beauty. Since real Zen peace is less crowded than some Kyoto temples, it is ideal. Highly advised for those drawn to meditation, history, or simply a peaceful retreat.
Manpreet S — Google review
There's an entrance fee of 500¥, the complex is big enough that you can spend a good hour plus just walking around. Further in you an hike up for an amazing vantage point
Sadaf F — Google review
A great temple area that's connected to a series of trails that lead to a beautiful view! The climb to the top is about 15-20 minutes at a good pace and then the trail continues. The temple at the bottom is really beautiful and has multiple buildings to view and go into.
Claudio L — Google review
They don't tell you the Buddha hall is closed for renovations until you've paid. Construction everywhere, not remotely peaceful. (Aside from the giant building next door.) Don't waste your time.

Beautiful temples with a magnificent Japanese garden. The site is quite spread with many different temples. We can also hike for 15 minutes and have a view of the city of kamakura and the sea. Also, this temple is not as crowded as the others located in the city centre.

This was the last temple we went before we succumbed to the heat. Very cool place, paid 500 yen to get in.

Beautiful even on a rainy day. There weren’t many buildings but each one was very interesting. There are seats gazing out the garden in the back and a trail up to a viewpoint. They say you could see Mount Fuji on a clear, sunny day. The entrance fee was 500yen.

Meigetsu-in, also known as 'Hydrangea Temple,' is a Rinzai Zen temple established in 1159. The temple boasts a large round window and beautiful hydrangeas on its grounds. It's conveniently located near other popular attractions in Kanagawa, such as Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Kotoku-in Temple.
Very sacred and very strict for non-photography area, because it's actually a shrine and there is garden inside. Even not allowed for pics in the restaurant. No blooming on August 12th 2025. Ticket is ¥500 and get a brochure. There is mini souvenir near to the shrine. Less people so it's good to enjoy and relax.
Patricia — Google review
Day of visit: 26-06-2025 at around 13:30 When I got there the flowers were just starting to wither, but there were still some to see. Probably because of that I did not have to wait for the ticket, and the flow of visitors was not crowded as usual. However, you still need to wait just a little bit to have nice photos without other people. Apart from the main path which is famous and usually crowded, there are smaller pathways on the side as well. If you are not someone who can beat the crowd or queue from early morning during the peak period, then I highly recommend visiting on a weekday in late June, just as I did.
Quỳnh L — Google review
Meigetsuin is mainly famous for the circular window view. The view in October is pretty but I believe it would be prettiest during autumn with the foliage turning red. There is a tiny bamboo grove too here.
Chhanda B — Google review
My purpose in visiting this temple was to see the hydrangeas during the rainy season. It’s within walking distance from a local station, and along the way you can enjoy the natural scenery. The only concern is that too many people were waiting for the round window (丸窓).
Cozcoz — Google review
Again overhyped. Nothing outstanding about the temple. There is entrance fee as well. The round window looks less majestic in reality.
Kingsuk S — Google review
The best temple in Kamakura with its own unique charm. Recommend to visit during flowering season when the hydrangeas are flowering and to visit the hidden garden. Its a bit out of the way but it was very tranquil. I really enjoyed it's unique figurines and statues. The garden behind the window of enlightenment was absolutely perfect & tranquil. With respect to the temple it's smaller compared to the other ones, but seemed to be better designed with points of interest along the way & especially with respect to crowd control and traffic flow.
Vignesh M — Google review
‘With flowers in hand and a quiet smile — even a stranger’s heart softens gently in that silent grace.’ This quote from the temple summarised it perfectly. It’s a temple with theme: bright moon 🌕, rabbits, and flowers.

Enoshima Shrine is a renowned mountaintop complex featuring three ancient shrines, picturesque grounds, and stunning panoramic views. Dedicated to Benzaiten, the goddess of wisdom and music, this Shinto shrine is among Japan's most famous. Located just a short walk from Katase-Enoshima Station, it includes Hetsunomiya with its octagonal pavilion enshrining Benzaiten.
We visited this Shrine and really liked it. The shrine has a nice atmosphere and beautiful views. It’s a peaceful place to explore while walking around Enoshima Island. I enjoyed the visit a lot!
Laloena A — Google review
It is a typical shrine as others. If you have spare time to kamakura, can spend an hour or two. Take the escar to the top.
Simon W — Google review
Enoshima Shrine – Hetsunomiya is a peaceful and beautiful spot on Enoshima Island. The walk up through the vibrant shops and red gates is really fun and colorful. The shrine itself is calm with lovely traditional architecture and a nice spiritual vibe. It’s a great place to take a break and enjoy some quiet time after exploring the busy island. Easy to reach from the station, and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Giftzy_nana — Google review
It’s a beautiful shrine with a long history and lots of interesting activities if you’re familiar with the culture. They also hold many small daily events. I bought a cute dragon omamori and noticed this shrine, like others on Enoshima island, has a sigil reminiscent of the Deathly Hallows!
Natasha M — Google review
Beautiful area with a lot of interesting stuff. The shrine is the first you encounter as you access the island through the bridge. From here you can climb up following the stairs or just pay a fee for the escalator. We took the stairs and it was a great experience. Overall we spent around 3 hours on the island and we got as far as we could at the entrance of the cave but we decided not to visit it as it did not seem worth it. We even met a small raccoon which was a welcomed surprise!
Alessandro B — Google review
This place is a nice temple, but the tourists are too noisy here. My trip started off with a lady cutting in front of me for the Esca tickets. I told her I was waiting and she just ignored me and walked forward to buy tickets. Not sure what the worker is there for. Then I made it up only to hear constant yelling from other tourists. It's just people trying to take photos everywhere. I tried to get some peace/quiet and went to the corner of the garden where there's a view. Ahh, nice. Then some guy with a camera thought I found something and came over and called his family over. I was done. It's more peaceful at a packed Starbucks. I wonder how bad it is at the top of the tower. If you want to come here, come either super early or really late.
Kenjiro Y — Google review
Hetsunomiya (辺津宮) — the first stop on the path up Enoshima. This shrine marks the entrance before climbing toward the Sea Candle. In summer, the sun can be strong, and walking all the way up without using the escalator is quite a challenge! You can take the escalator (paid) on the left after passing the Torii , or walk up the traditional way. The path is long and steep, so be prepared — if you’re not used to walking uphill, you might feel it in your legs by the end. (…or maybe I’m just getting old 😅)
Aho B — Google review
Definitely recommend visiting. Don’t take the escalators up if not in a hurry as the climb isn’t too long and it even has a few viewpoints that you might miss. Pay the 800Yen for the evening ticket if you think you might end up leaving at 5:01pm as otherwise you end up paying a thousand. Definitely go up to the non-glasses deck and try to witness the sunset even if not from the observation deck. The accompanying garden was majestic even in January.

What a stunning place to visit. There are temples and shrines. There are also cute restaurants, shops, and amazing views. There is an escalator to go up. Don't feel bad if you pay to use it. You will still get your steps in. A lot of steps. It's also where the 1964 Olympics were partially held at. It's said that a lot of cats live here. Well I saw 1 cat in a house. I saw so many beautiful hawks. Is that where the cats went?

Peaceful shrine on top of the hill. I will strongly recommend to buy the paid escalator (2mins+) to travel up the shrine instead of walking up (20mins)

Enoshima Shrine Okutsumiya, the highest one of the three main shrines of the island. The shrine was built to worship the eldest sister, Tagirihimenomikoto, who is the Goddess of the sea. No admission fee is required as well.
Antony L — Google review
One of a few shrines in the area. They have escalators that you can take to the top (charged) but I didn’t take them. It wasn’t that hard getting up there. But it’s a very nice shrine with a great view at the top. Check out this and the others if you’re in town. May be crowded around the new year time period.
Kelly J — Google review
Great shine and surrounding area. Lots of walking, so wear good shoes. Lots of stairs if you walk from caves to end of shopping street. Love bell and sea candle along the path from start to finish. You could spend all day here really. But we did everything at a relaxing pace and it took us around 4-5 hours maybe. Could be done quicker for sure. Good snacks and restaurants along the way too.
Caitlin M — Google review
Beach goers destination. The Shrine is just part of the tourist destination. There's aquarium, beach surfing and a small hill to climb to spend your 1 day trip breakaways. Now in mid May still rather nice weather coupled with sunshine and beach nothing is better than that of course not forgetting the fresh seafood Japanese style meals. From Japan is just a short 2 hours drive if not a train ride may save u the hassle of finding parking lot and traffic jam. Very Hawaiian of Japanese seaside.

A beautiful relatively quiet, beach-side town not too far from Tokyo. If you go around Christmas and New Year they've set up illuminations all over the flower beds and observation tower. On clearer days Mt. Fuji is easily visible.

Enoshima Uomi-tei is a popular restaurant known for its sushi plates, octopus, and fish fried in light tempura batter, all enjoyed against the backdrop of stunning sea and sunset views. Featured in a YouTube episode by TOKYO CHEAPO, this spot offers both regular indoor seating and an outside veranda with commanding ocean views. Despite its scenic location, the restaurant is not pretentious or overly expensive.
Memorable dining experience overlooking the sea! I was also lucky to see Mt Fuji before it turned cloudy! I had aji no tataki set meal with grilled clams あじたたき定食 焼きはまぐり付 for 3050 yen Fresh fish and juicy clams! But I think they are most popular for shirasu, hope I have the chance to go back for it! 📣Check out my IG/Lemon8/Tiktok @samlivestoeat for more detailed foodie reviews! 🥰

The place is likely popular due to the beautiful view. We thought the food was OK -- we've been spoiled by the ramen that we've eaten at in Tokyo where they are making the noodles fresh. These ramen noodles were the same you get in packages in the US.
Doug F — Google review
Great view with yummy food!! It was worth for a wait. It was weekday but still took at least 30 mins at 2pm if you want to outdoor seating.
Pin L — Google review
The best part about Uomi-tei is definitely the view — you get a beautiful look out over the sea while enjoying your meal. The restaurant has plenty of windows and even outdoor seating, creating an atmosphere that perfectly fits Enoshima. The food itself was decent, though not particularly standout, but the price and quality were fair. Service was okay, though it didn’t quite feel up to par compared to other restaurants I’ve been to in Japan. Overall, Uomi-tei is worth visiting for the view and ambiance alone, even if the food and service don’t completely impress.

Great spot to watch if you reserve for an outdoor table on a sunny day. The food was great! We really enjoyed the seaweed ramen.

What a convenient shop to rest for a hearty warm lunch from the walking. The wait was super quick. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Ordering was straightforward and the food came out surprisingly quick, yet the food was what we were expecting. Prices were reasonable. Stunning view of the bay. Highly recommend it when visiting Enoshima.

I got lured into this cliffside restaurant by empty turbo shells next to the entrance, but I found out that the actual turbo shell that was served was much smaller in size. The squid and the sashimi salads were delightful, though. I definitely recommend sitting outside for the stunning view, as I was able to watch local kites dancing in the sky.

Guests can also savor Kawahagi sashimi prepared live. The kaisendon is highly recommended for its freshness and quality.

JAN 2025 Came here for late lunch and had the seafood tempura fritter and the seafood bowl. Ordering was via the touch screen and the food arrived pretty fast. The tempura fritter consisted of white bait, shrimp, squid etc. It was light and crispy and portion size was big, great for sharing. The seafood bowl had a decent variety of toppings which included tuna, white fish, octopus, shrimp, salmon roe, white bait and sea eel. Seafood was fresh but was quite pricey for the portion.

We ordered the assorted fried items, it was so delicious. The batter is light and the seafood is fresh. The aircon was really cooling as well.

i got their cold soba kakiage set and hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in japan !! their shirasu (whitebait) kakiage is a specialty you cannot miss, so crunchy but also light !! it was so good on a hot summer’s day ⭐️ please pay this place a visit when you’re in enoshima

Freshness and flavor overload. I appreciate the level of freshness and flavor they served for the lunch we ordered. Must try!

Not very impressive. Food taste was mediocre. Not much portion of fish in the rice bowl for both meals.

Amami, near Enoshima Shrine, offers ultra-fresh seafood from Sagami Bay. The Raw Shirasu Donburi (raw whitebait) is a regional must-try. Efficient service and an English digital menu make ordering easy. Great value for authentic local Japanese ocean delicacies!

Absolutely gorgeous!! I was looking for a restaurant where has ras whitebaits (Shirasu) available. On that day, this restaurant was the only option so we decided to give it a go. We ordered donburi with raw shirasu, I had raw shirasu and salmon roe donburi and my husband had 4 different types of shirasu ( raw, boiled, fried and marinated) donburi. It was very fresh and delicious, we also had “Kawahagi” sashimi which was cooked while it was alive. Freshest sashimi ever and gorgeous representation - with the local Enoshima beer available, I was pleased that we went to the restaurant. Definitely coming back again!

Seafood restaurant
Red Lobster Enoshima is a lively American seafood restaurant located near Enoshima beach. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood options and provides a set menu during lunchtime, which is both affordable and of good quality. While there are no certified halal options, the staff is accommodating and willing to assist in selecting Muslim-friendly dishes. The restaurant also has a decent drink menu and friendly staff, despite limited English proficiency.
Thank you to the staff especially this guy. Thank you for making my parents feel so welcomed. Thanks for the good food and good service. The poor live lobster died for us but it was so yummy. The seafood platter was fresh and tasty. The mushroom gratin is perfect. I would definitely come back here again.
Masaru M — Google review
Over the years, I’ve visited a few Red Lobsters in Japan, and the Enoshima venue is by far my favorite. I don’t know if the menu has changed for all the Red Lobsters, but this one had some of my favorite items from the U.S. chain - but at much better quality! And they also serve the signature lobster dishes that the Red Lobster Japan is well known for. Some food raves: the popcorn shrimp was so flavorful! I should have ordered the large (but we ordered a heck of a lot food). The shrimp cocktail was also amazing. You could tell it was fresh and it tasted so much better than ones we have ordered at high end steak houses. The lobster thermidor is so delicious! I was also pleased to find the cheesy, crab stuffed mushrooms which were enhanced with the addition of broccoli, and the garlic cheesy bread rolls that Red Lobster was known for. In addition to the delicious food, the atmosphere is comfortable, classy and nostalgic (of those Red Lobsters from the 80’s). It was clean and comfortable with the chain’s memorable decor. Since we were with our granddaughter, we were seated near other children and it appeared that those dining without kids were seated in a different area. (I appreciate that as typically we do kid-free dining). The kids meal was so cutely presented as well. Our servers were great and it was easy to order. There was an English menu accessible from the QR code on the menu. The bar had a wide offering and included a personal favorite: Matua Sauvignon Blanc bottle for about 4500¥. Location is great as well - just a few minutes walk to the aquarium & the island so it makes a great way to start your day on the shore or end it. Highly recommend if in the area with kids. (Even just adults - I’ll go back!) Reservations can be made on-line. 5-stars all around!

One of the best sea food restaurant in the area. Its near Enoshima beach. You can choose so many options. There is no certified halal food. But you can ask stuffs about the ingredients and cross mixing issue. They helped me a lot to choose muslim friendly food. Many sea food option available. In lunch time they provide their set menu which is cheap and good quality. Quantity of food is also great. I wish i will go there again.

all the food was tasty and served quite fast. The servers and hostesses were all friendly and helpful despite us not knowing japanese. Cute souvenirs in the front and seating outside. The bathrooms are real nice with the Aesop products.

The food was delicious, we loved especially the lobster, the pizza and the oysters. The service was good and fast. It's quite expensive, so we went for a especial occasion, but wouldn't go regularly. The only complain would be the price, but I guess it's the usual prices in foreign sea food restaurants.

Decent sized drink menu, delicious menu and friendly staff. The staff didn’t speak much English, but they were very welcoming. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. It was decently priced. It is located across the street from the aquarium. Would definitely come back.

Very Good Food, Great service by staff, low waiting time in the afternoon. We enjoyed popcorn shrimp, Chipotle Catfish, Smoked Salmon with lemon and herbs and in the end Lobster Pie Pizza. Worth the visit if you are around enoshima beach.

Very close to the beach. The food was great and they had a fruit beer (Jazzberry) that I liked. Lobster tasted great and fresh. The cocktail wasn’t that appealing. Reasonably priced.

Food is high quality but it’s way too slow. Hard to give a high rating when you spend over an hour waiting for food. We reserved a 6 course meal days in advance. When we arrived there was only two other customers plus us two. It still took 30 mins to get the appetizer. 1.5 hrs after arriving we just finished our 3rd course. I looked around and there were 4 couples there but nobody had any food. Everyone just waiting. Too slow but delicious. I’d give it 3.5. 4.5+ with faster service.

The appetizer was pacific saury paste and baguette, pear and prosciutto, and chilled Beniharuka soup. Everything was exquisite. The pacific saury paste was delicious and not at all fishy! The main pasta dishes were Ezo venison bolognese and whitebait carbonara. Both were delicious, but the bread that came with them was even better! I dipped every last drop into the sauce. The flat noodles in the bolognese were delicious. I prefer the carbonara sauce, lol. After enjoying the coffee and gelato, I was so intrigued by the Mont Blanc the person next to me was having that I ordered another one. It had vanilla ice cream inside. It wasn't bad. In fact, it was amazing! Next time, I'd like to try the course that includes the main course. The first time I visited was over 10 years ago, and there weren't many Italian restaurants nearby, so I remember choosing this restaurant from the limited options. As a result, I still frequent it today. It's not flashy, but the food is clear and you can feel the careful selection of ingredients and the work that went into making it. The atmosphere is also great, and I still feel a sense of nostalgia when I see the Enoshima Electric Railway from the window. Recently, many different restaurants have opened in the area, but if you want consistent Italian food, this is the place to go. Enoshima Aquarium, situated near Katase Beach, is a Pacific Ocean and Sagami Bay-themed aquarium showcasing diverse marine life. The concept of the aquarium is centered around 'enjoy learning' and offers various programs including a touch pool for up-close encounters with creatures from Sagami Bay. One of its highlights is the 'Sagami Bay Zone,' featuring a large water tank where approximately 8,000 sardines swim.
One of the strategic places for family and kids, where you can spend a whole day excursion: explore and learn about sea creatures, followed by playing at the beach. Mount Fuji can be seen if the weather is nice. Sunset time on a clear day can be a relaxing yet mesmerizing moment to end the trip.

It was awesome! There's lots to do and see, the jellyfish display was probably my favorite...but there were 2 capybara. seaturtles and a place you could touch fish if that's your kind of thing. I loved the little teddy lottery they had, I think it was whales, dolphins or otter plushies you could win. Overall, it was amazing but very very busy. Perhaps because we went during summer of what I now know is a tourist town, but it was very busy.

Our daughter loves aquariums so we’ve been to a few, in the US, Mexico, Vietnam, but this one in Enoshima was by far the prettiest. I don’t know how to describe it but each tank was spotless, all the fish and animals were well taken care of and happy, and the place was just sparkling clean, didn’t even smell like sea water, even though it sits right on the beach! Affordable parking, easy access, and just a wonderful, active day for the family. Easily spent 3hrs, could have spent an hour or longer! Plan accordingly.

Super cool aquarium! Plenty of stuff to see. Only down side is that there wasn't a lot of English translations of signs. It would have been great to be able to actually read about some of the animals. They at least had the animal names in English.

This place usually has a long line waiting to get in, but sometimes right before the typical lunch time on a weekday, you get lucky and encounter a somewhat a short line :) On hot and sunny days, they have the sun-blocking umbrellas and water server for the guests to use while they wait in the line outside. They also have restrooms outside as well for those of us waiting. Food is not cheap, but filling and reasonable considering the location and and the menu is mostly fish... which usually says "Market price." Presentation of the food is really nice and you can make a "set" (or a rice and miso soup combo) with any of the a la carte items, so even our 7yo daughter was able to find something she can eat. Also really nice that you can order seconds for the dashi soup :)

Katase Higashihama Beach, located in an urban cove, is a popular spot for surfing and relaxation. It has beach bars and eateries, as well as a low-tide causeway to an island. The beach was recognized as one of the 88 most recommended beaches in Japan by the Ministry of the Environment.
Many surfers were busy near the beach with their surfing boards. Some restaurants are beside the beach. Fuji san can also be seen from the beach, though very far away.

The beach is wide and the waves are moderate. If they are a little rougher you could almost surf. The sand is grey and fine grained. The beach area is reasonably clean, but there is still garbage here and there.

A very nice beach with the express train only an hour from Tokyo, ideal to escape the today so hot Tokyo. Sunbed and umbrella were affordable at 2500¥. Definitely get here before 11am, there are not many and the beach offers no shade otherwise. I was here during the week and there was little going on, which is probably different on Saturday and Sunday. The almost black beach with "golden" tinsel is very hot. Be sure to bring flip flops. I will be back👍👍👍👍👍
Olliver ( — Google review
Pretty wide and big beach, water was not the clearest but it was doable, water temperature was very nice though, not too hot or too cold. You should bring parasol, sandals and such so that the sun and the sand not burning you, if you don’t have one you can rent them at the beach huts everywhere along the beach. You also need to use the restaurant’s or shop’s service (eating or drinking or resting) to have a shower. Sand was piping hot during peak summertime daytime, but I figure in other seasons it would not be, so you can take a nice troll along the shore during other seasons anytime of the day. Or in summer but after sunset, you get the idea.

Enoshima Iwaya Cave, consisting of the 152-meter Daiichi Iwaya and the 56-meter Daini Iwaya, was naturally sculpted by ocean waves. Once a site for Buddhist rituals, it now features stone statues, a small shrine, and historical exhibits. The mysterious ambiance is linked to the legend of the Dragon God. Visitors can stroll through with candles provided for an atmospheric experience.
Mystical, moody, and full of ocean whispers 🌊🕯️ Enoshima Iwaya Caves feel like stepping into an ancient legend. Carved by the sea and shaped by time, these caves are dimly lit, echoey, and dripping with mystery. You walk with a candle in hand, following narrow paths while waves crash just beyond the rocks — it’s eerie, exciting, and surprisingly peaceful. There’s a quiet spiritual vibe here, with statues tucked into the stone and the scent of sea spray in the air. Not just a cave – an experience. 🕯️ Candle-lit cave walk = main character moment 🌊 Epic ocean views right outside ✨ Great stop after exploring Enoshima Shrine or the Sea Candle

Really cool! Interesting history and folklore; you are surrounded by natural beauty! Our 8 y.o. son enjoyed the experience and discovering the dragon’s lair! Crowds weren’t too bad for a Saturday in June. But be prepared for a lot of walking/hiking up and down steps. Give yourself the whole day to fully explore and see the sights. Lots of little snack shops and restaurants to try out for quick bites. We were too tired to hike to go see the lovers’ bell. Take your time and take breaks. We bought the tickets for the escalators going up-sooo worth it!

Interesting cave accessed by a coastal walkway with lovely views of the sea. Inside the cave the concrete path provides safe access, but somewhat detracts from the experience of being in a cave. But there's a lovely small shrine at the end with a great roaring demon (clap your hands loudly to make it roar - see my video attached to this review). You have to crouch sometimes, so tall people beware!

Enoshima Island is such a fun place to explore on foot. The walk around the island is full of small shops and food stalls, each offering something different to try — it’s easy to spend hours just wandering and snacking. The Enoshima Iwaya Caves were also a nice surprise and worth the visit. The mix of ocean views, local food, and relaxed seaside atmosphere makes it one of those spots that perfectly captures the charm of coastal Japan.

1. Sacred caves meant for prayer purposes in the old days 2. Be prepared for long flights of downward stairs from the shrine (hill top) to the cave. Going there is not tough, going back to the entrance of the island means long upwards flights of stairs which will be difficult for Elderly or those lack of stamina 3. Nice scenery and cooling tunnel of caves.
Vincent Y — Google review
It's a relatively small cave system with a 500 yen entrance fee. It's pretty chill, very nice and has a lot of history to it. The fun part is the stairs to get there!
Kevin T — Google review
I wish I read reviews before going! Only recommended for people with strong connection to the local religious beliefs and those who love walking down and back up steep stairs. The caves themselves have been excavated to the point of removing most of their interest. There are cultural/religious points of interest. Most non-Japanese people I heard say things like it wasn't worth it. I recommend going to the Candle tower (for the view) then making your way down the steps to the main street. Another hot tip - the local bus will save you a walk back into the main town at only ¥290 to the main station. A photo of the "pay off"! (My fellow Australians, honestly, it is not worth it!)
Megan B — Google review
You need to traverse about a dozen steep staircases to reach the cave. Some interesting sites to see, but it can get crowded. Would not recommend if you are claustrophobic. The ocean views are very nice though.

Hawaiian restaurant
Aloha Table Shonan is a popular eatery that offers authentic Waikiki cuisine. Situated on the Shonan Highway, it provides a spacious environment with a distant view of Enoshima. The establishment serves unique Hawaiian-inspired dishes. Patrons can enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, while also taking in the sea vista during their meal. Though delicious, some may find the food slightly pricey due to its prime location.
Found across from the beach this cool little restaurant offers a range of great food, beer and wine. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They do speak a high level of English and were very talkative and smiling. The food is fresh and arrived in good time. Super tasty and good portion sizes. The steak for cooked perfectly.
Damien S — Google review
Awesome Hawaiian place. The food was great, especially the Loco Moco. It's a little more high class than your typical Hawaiian joint so the food is a little different, but still very good and still in the Hawaiian spirit. Food came out very promptly and everybody loved everything. Highly recommend.
Bilford W — Google review
Enoshima itself gives off a very west coast/Hawaii vibe so I was craving Hawaiian food ! The decor of the place really pulled me in and I really felt like I was in Waikiki. The garlic shrimp plate was good and garlicky! You order through a QR code so no worries if you can’t speak Japanese
Tiffany N — Google review
On our way to the beach today, my husband decided to try this place and it was worth it. We got seated very quickly with no wait. He ordered the loco moco and I ordered the tuna and salmon poke bowl mix. It also came with some chicken, miso soup and vegetables. It was wonderful and the lemonade was icing on the cake! We’ll probably head there one more time before leaving Japan.

Don’t get the shrimp :) even though it’s soft shell they don’t peel it before frying making it impossible to eat ~ other then that enoshima is great place so the atmosphere is awesome :)

Very cool location with a fabulous menu of Hawaiian food and drink, right by the ocean. We made a reservation ahead of time for 9 people so there was no wait for us. We were on the second floor and it was nice enough for them to have their windows open so we could see the view even better!
Julian L — Google review
The menu of the restaurant is not clear, as if intentionally tricking customers. On the menu, it says that the set meal costs 3300 yen for one person. But in fact, the set meal is for 2 people, divided by 3300 yen each. The total amount we paid, including drinks, was more than 8000 yen. It's really not enough for 2 people to eat. Such a price is unreasonable. The menu is not clear. Why not also state that the set meal costs 6600 yen? They only state 3300 yen/person. When I called the staff to order the food, they didn't explain to us that this set meal is for 2 people. I will never come back to this store. It's terrible.
Thao N — Google review
I got the fried chicken plate which was decent and a very good portion size as well as the sunset cooler cocktail. The food was nice and decently priced compared to some other Hawaiian restaurants but they didn't offer anything unique or different to what you would expect from a Japanese Hawaiian restaurant.

Delicious Italian fare on a tourist street in Enoshima. Pizza and antipasti were first rate. I wish we had time to sample more items and I wish I had taken more photos. Welcoming staff and well prepared food. Grazie,Pico!!

My family and I came across this place while visiting the area during Golden Week. I read other reviews and I really don’t know why anyone would give this place anything lower than 5 stars. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing. The sauce for the pizza was fresh, not canned. The food came quickly despite it being Golden Week and the place was packed. I wish this place was in Toyama so I could visit it more often. I highly recommend this place. I seriously would eat there on a regular basis if I lived in the area.

Sat on a little bench outside the shop with tons of people around us. But had great fun people watching the food was fantastic. I wish I could tell you the name of the dish I had, it's their world famous is what they said, so look for that on the menu world famous!

Had PICO in Enoshima for dinner to see how the Italian cuisine would be compared to other places. The white pizza came in very thin slices, and can be shareable or easily eaten by one person. The pizza had a good dough and crust, but the toppings did not have much flavor, and you could not taste much cheese, so it tasted more like eating a flat bread like naan than a slice of pizza. The pasta with red sauce was good. The noodles were al dente and the red sauce complimented it well. The dining area inside was clean and the staff were friendly.

Had lunch around 2pm on a hot Sunday afternoon. There were about 10 people in total. Ordered pickles, salad, Sicilian pizza, ginger ale. Pickles were good, salad was good, pizza was so-so. Base was soggy, unable to fold my slice. Plus a small pizza was cut into 10 slices. I noticed the pizza oven master was crisping the top of pizza by lifting the pizza to the top of the oven, I'm not sure this is a good idea.

Chinese restaurant
Ginza Aster Fujisawa Hinkan, a Chinese restaurant, has recently gained popularity among the elderly. After more than a dozen years, their classic appetizer platter and Peking duck still remain delicious. However, it is their seasonal recommended menu that truly stands out - yakisoba with crab and egg whites is an outstanding dish. The refreshing drinks include pomegranate vinegar and goji berry-infused beverages.
(Translated by Google) A long time ago, I remember going to Ginza Aster in Kamakura, and it was several decades ago, but I vaguely remember it being a fairly high-class restaurant, and it was for a company New Year's party. So, this time I visited this store. Unlike the old image of Chinese food (coming on a large platter and portioning), after the coronavirus (I'm not sure if that's the case), I wonder if it's now possible to have the food served on individual plates. . Well, I personally thought that this was a good service for me, and that it was perfect for a company banquet where everyone could drink without hesitation. The customer service attitude of the young employees was excellent, and all the store staff were very nice to me. As expected, it's a high-end Chinese restaurant. Although the prices are high, I felt that it was very nice to be able to talk comfortably in a private room, unlike a small and cluttered pub. Best of all, the food was delicious. I thought I was able to get a meal that was worth the price, with a huge difference from the course menus at cheap izakayas that I go to for year-end and New Year parties during the year-end and New Year holidays (well, it's only natural). I would definitely like to have a banquet here next time. Thank you for the meal.

However, there was a long white hair on the appetizer. We both have white hair, so we hesitated to call out to the staff, but it was a little disappointing. We came here at my mother's request. We were able to celebrate her birthday in a luxurious atmosphere, and we had fun reminiscing about old times, which made for a good memory. I would like to thank the young waiter who was able to fluently explain the origin of Peking Duck and the veteran staff who were considerate and kind enough to let me leave during the lively banquet. The price is ¥¥¥, but I'm very satisfied. Thank you to my uncle. I will visit again in Tokyo! The tenderness and crisp skin of Peking duck. (Translated by Google) I had known the name of the shop for a long time, but I had never had the chance to go there, so I finally decided to visit. I think it falls into the category of a high-class restaurant, but for lunch, you can choose the main course and enjoy the Chinese course even at Keika, which is the most reasonable course. This time, my friend ordered keika, so I had the opportunity to taste them, and they all had elegant seasonings that allowed you to fully enjoy the flavor of the ingredients. Perhaps the reason there are many older customers is because the seasoning is mild? I don't think it's suitable for people who want spicy Chinese food with strong flavors. I was in the mood to choose only what I wanted to eat, so I ordered fried rice and tapioca coconut milk. It's a rather expensive individual dish, but the portion is also worth it, so you can eat to your heart's content. As with other Chinese restaurants, the portions are large when ordering a single item, so I felt it would be better to share it with several people and order a variety of items. It's too much for one person, so one person gets bored. The staff was friendly and the seats were spaced apart, so I felt this was a good place to relax and enjoy Chinese food.

Shopping
Mr Max Shonan Fujisawa Shopping Center is a traditional retail hub offering a range of amenities and services. With its selection of grocery stores, discount outlets, and local service providers, this mall caters to diverse needs. While it may not stock bolts and nuts, it compensates with an extensive collection of shelves and kitchen utilities. The prices at the alcohol section are slightly more affordable than those at supermarkets, making it a reasonable choice for shoppers looking for a better deal.

I love this place. You can sit and read all books in the store as much as you want if you buy a cup of coffee. The space is big and they have huge selection of books and magazines. I can stay there whole day. So relaxing space.

A bit of a high-end mall, quite small and stylishly designed but not much variety to be honest. They have festivals in the car park occasionally, including a really great beer festival. Not easy to get to without a car.

Cool cozy place to chill. Unfortunately has only a small portion of English books but if you have your own book already, come for the atmosphere. Has a Starbucks and family mart inside the store.

Western restaurant
Fujisawa Bistro is a casual steak house known for its sizzling burger steaks, offering good quality hamburgers with fresh meat at reasonable prices, meeting the standards of Japanese cuisine. However, from a Western perspective, there is room for improvement in the soup and salad offerings. The salads consisting only of canned corn and lettuce lack flavor diversity. Enhancing the soups with more ingredients would greatly enhance their appeal.
Very interesting place located in a basement with like 8 table. Vary small. Prices are reasonable. The server was very good and very helpfull overcoming language barrier The salad has like a soy dressing a bit acidic but good. The soup (Chicken broth) Good in a very simplistic way. The main dish Steak was serve on hot lava stone so you can finish the cooking to your liking. Great flavor the garlic sauce was excellent.

We really liked the place. The only thing I could say is that the meat of the hamburger was not cooked enough at the beginning and you had to let it a few minutes on the iron plate . My wife liked it but felt her hamburger had a little bit too much of cartilage on it inside. The yound lady whom served us was very friendly and attentive.

What I ordered was Ginger highball, hamburger 300g, Tsukimi and bacon toppings, Set A (rice, salad, soup) When the hamburger was served, it was rare inside. So, it's best to grill it to your liking on the iron plate that comes with it. It's a hamburger steak, but it feels like you're eating a lot of meat, and the white rice goes well with it. Bacon is thick It's also delicious with two slices. The ginger highball is delicious with a slight sweetness. The clerk was also friendly and made me feel comfortable. This time's bill was 3260 yen. (Translated by Google) My husband and I made a reservation at 13:00 and came to the store. My wife had 200g of hamburger steak + Chaliapin sauce + salad, soup, and rice set. I ordered 150g of hamburger steak & 100g of Ozaki beef (rare parts) + salad, soup, rice, and oolong tea. The salad was delicious with an appetizing sauce. The soup is a consommé soup, which some people may find too strong, but for me it was just right. The main course is served on a hot lava stone with a small plate of hamburger & steak, carrots, bean sprouts, green onions, cut potatoes, and Chaliapin sauce. The hamburgers and steaks are served rare, making them irresistible for lovers of rare dishes such as yukhoe, and those who don't like rare dishes can also grill them on lava stone to make Verdun. The meat quality was good and extremely delicious. Carrots, bean sprouts, green onions, and cut potatoes were charred to give them a fragrant flavor, and by eating them alternately with hamburger and steak, I was able to enjoy the meal without feeling hungry. Ratings for the food served ◎ Regarding customer service, we had one female floor staff member assist us, but it was not worthy of our evaluation. ① Mistakenly serving the food of someone at a different table. When I pointed out the difference, the food was served to another table [without apology]. ② When the food was served, the customer said, ``Sorry to have kept you waiting. It's a 400g hamburger.'' When I said, ``I didn't ask for it. I ordered 200g.'' [Without apologies] the customer responded, ``It's a 200g hamburger.'' This led to a misunderstanding and caused a sense of distrust. ③ At the time of accounting, the total amount was 5,300 yen, so I handed over 10,300 yen. The change was supposed to be 5,000 yen, but the change was not returned, saying, ``I just received it. Thank you very much.'' I said, ``I paid 10,300 yen, so you won't get 5,000 yen back in change?'' "I'm sorry. I thought it was a 5,000 yen bill," she replied. Based on the above, I feel distrust and discomfort towards the staff, and I wonder if they like making customers angry? I wondered. The bistro was rated as having excellent food but poor customer service. If the customer service can be improved, the store will be highly rated as a great store. (Translated by Google) My preference is to have it done on lava. I walk down the stairs at Fujisawa Station and can hear the heat. I order 300g at the "Bistro." The outside is fragrant, the inside leans towards rare—it's nice to have it cooked on the tabletop lava plate, and the way it's cooked on the tabletop lava plate lets you enjoy the feeling of it being cooked just right to suit your mood. The acidity of the Bistro melts the fat, but it's not too surprising. The taste isn't bad, but the price just doesn't quite justify it. Perhaps because it's underground, the atmosphere is a little heavy, and there are traces of oil on the menu and floor. Opened in 2011, it's long been a beloved "underground hamburger spot," but tonight I was left with a bit of a gap between "full" and "satisfied." ① Freedom of finishing: Served rare → The strength of this place is that you can "do it yourself" on the lava plate. ② Price x Volume: At 300g, it feels a little pricey. Compared to chains that emphasize set meals, the value for money is mixed. 3. How to choose the flavor: The impression changes dramatically with 10 sauces -- Bistro (light with acidity), Chaliapin (sweet onion), Garlic (straightforward strength), Teriyaki (balanced with sweetness), Green onion salt and black ponzu (refreshing), Salsa (sharp spiciness and acidity), Demi-glace miso (adds richness), Pink salt and black pepper (brings out the natural flavor of the meat), Cocktail (mild, suitable for children). Unlike "restaurants that only offer rich demi-glace," this place allows you to choose the sauce to suit your mood. Pancake restaurant
This pancake restaurant, J.S.Pancake cafe Terrace Mall Shonan, is highly praised. The pancakes they serve are delightful and preferable to Hawaiian pancakes. Additionally, the theme of "little caterpillar series" adds an appealing touch. They also offer a delicious salad that is both satisfying and tasty. Overall, this place is fantastic for a fulfilling and enjoyable dining experience.

It can take a while to get a table, and pancakes are quite expensive for such simple ingredients. Taste of pancakes is good though - including nice sour contrast for the lemon ricotta pancakes. Table and was under spinning ceiling fan with LED lights above which is bad design and made a distracting flashing light

The last time I went, it was so crowded that I gave up after being 24th in line, so I went in as soon as it opened. (By the time I left, there were already 10 groups waiting.) The food and drinks are both delicious. However, considering the one-drink rule, you still need to be prepared to pay a certain amount. For our family of two adults and two children, the bill came to 12,000 yen. I get the impression that this isn't a place you can go to often. It might be good for an occasional visit. Kurumaya, an exceptional dining establishment, leaves a lasting impression on its patrons. With its charming ambiance and impeccable customer care, it consistently earns high praise. Families frequently gather here to commemorate special occasions and are always delighted by the delectable fare that effortlessly blends culinary artistry with mouthwatering flavors. The service is nothing short of extraordinary, while the garden provides a pleasant setting to savor the experience. Highly recommended for those seeking an unforgettable dining adventure.
OUTSTANDING in every way. From the gracious welcome to the sincere farewell, the dining experience at this restaurant is magnificent. The attention to detail, comfort and enjoyment is seriously impressive. The food is just divine: we had an array of bite size starters that just melted in your mouth with a heavenly blend of flavours and textures. The Teppanyaki prepared in front of our eyes - entertainment at its best - served the most tender, delicious waygu I've ever eaten along with vegetables perfectly al dente and garlic rice that was divine. OMG! This place has it all! Food is fantastic, service is ridiculous, and the dining room and view of their garden is awe inducing. Seasons change their course menu and brings tears to my eyes. Fish, vegetables, meat… each course brings out the flavors and textures of the seasonal ingredients. As a Japanese, I would sat, “berry berry derisious!!!” Just look at the pictures and the photos in the other reviews. Service was impeccable. I would think of something and there seemed to be a video camera on me just to observe my reactions to the beautiful and derisious food. Someone would appear at my side or they would bring out whatever I was thinking about if it was obvious to them. The entire staff were dressed in kimonos or suits and spotless. Very uniformed and professional. The dining room, the view, the lobby, the restroom and even the parking lot outside! Everything seemed manicured. The parking lot outside reminded me of the scene in “The Last Samurai” that stared Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe where Watanabe’s character succumbs to his injuries while looking at the distance cherry blossoms, “perfect…” Kurumaya asks you if you need a bus ride from Tsujido JR station to the restaurant. Kurumaya will schedule a bus to pick you up at their specific bus stop. Talk about service. Let Kurumaya know with your reservation and they pick you up at the station! I would go again and again! No second thoughts. Derisious to all of your senses.

While located next to the Shin-Shonan Bypass, it is a quiet hideaway where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and spend a relaxing time in peace and quiet. As soon as you step through the entrance, you are soothed by the well-maintained gardens and flowers, and from the guest room you can see the koi swimming gracefully in the large pond while enjoying a meal in luxury. The course menu is full of the chef's attention to detail and creativity, and while the main focus is on Japanese cuisine, there are also some international twists, making it a very enjoyable experience. Enoshima Sea Candle is a modern lighthouse and observatory built in 2003, offering stunning panoramic views of Sagami Bay. Located just off the coast west of Kamakura, this resort area features not only the iconic Enoshima Sea Candle but also beautiful gardens, the famous 'Love Bell' for couples seeking good luck, intriguing caves to explore, and several shrines collectively known as Enoshima Shrine.
Nice views overlooking the city and Mt. Fuji on a clear day. Grounds leading to the top were well-tended. P.s. The walk up isn't too bad, but if you aren't feeling it then just pay for the elevator. Do note that the elevator is only one-way so you'll still have to go down by the stairs.
Ethan — Google review
Beautiful view of the ocean and Mt. Fuji on clear days. The area is well maintained with a nice atmosphere. No long wait to enter, you go up by elevator and can walk down the stairs if you like. Definitely worth a visit.
Filip B — Google review
Rather cloudy when we went but nice views of nearby buildings and beautiful sunset. Saw a tiny glimpse of Mount Fuji haha. There is a floor that has glass windows and the floor above which has an outdoor area with some seating.
JX — Google review
I was there on a week day, please consider this when planning the visit. I assume there is significantly more demand during weekends. This tower is an absolute highlight of my Enoshima visit. I like high places, but this tower is more special. The elevator offers a good view already when bringing you up. At the top an excellent view and sitting possibilities await. One can also see the birds of prey flying around the island and follow them visually. The walk down was also a joy, but note that it is actually closed, so one needs to use the elevator to come down. In my case the door was open and since I can't read Japanese I went down the stairs only to discover a locked door at the bottom.
Walther X — Google review
The Enoshima Sea Candle is a must-visit if you’re in the area — especially at night. The illuminated tower becomes the centerpiece of a stunning light show that feels both peaceful and surreal. The view from the top offers a sweeping 360-degree panorama of the coastline, and on clear days you can even spot Mt. Fuji in the distance. Do note that access to the Sea Candle itself requires a separate ticket from the main Enoshima area. It’s well worth it, though, especially if you’re timing your visit for the evening light display. The wind at the top can be quite strong, so bring a jacket or dress warmly — especially in colder months. If you have extra time, make sure to stop by the Enoshima Aquarium below the island. It’s a surprisingly well-curated experience with engaging exhibits, including deep-sea creatures and jellyfish displays. Pairing the aquarium with a walk up to the Sea Candle makes for a great half-day adventure. Overall, the Sea Candle is one of those experiences that combines nature, design, and atmosphere in a way that leaves a lasting impression.

Well worth the visit , unfortunately we missed the candle show a few days back but the views were still awesome. Would recommend sunset/night
Avalanche — Google review
Great day trip outside of Tokyo. Worth visiting the 'Sea Candle' and everything else it has to offer such as little cafe's, shops, underground cave networks, floral gardens, etc. Came here in early October, weather was great!
Daniel D — Google review
Good place to see the whole view of Enoshima. I went there near sunset, and it is still good even with many clouds. Definitely better when it's sunny. You can even walk down the lighthouse using the stairs. A great challenge especially at night.👍🏻 You can have the 1 Day Enoshima Pass ticket (which includes the Sea Candle) at the Escar ticket booth. A great deal for just around 1100 Yen. Also includes the Escar service and the caves.

Gardens
Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden is a historic Meiji-era garden that blends Japanese and Western influences, boasting a variety of seasonal blooms. Originally established by British merchant Samuel Cocking in 1862, the garden is now maintained by Fujisawa city. One of its main attractions is the renowned winter illumination event called The Jewel of Shonan, which features enchanting displays including winter tulips and a tunnel of Swarovski crystals.
Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden is a fantastic spot to catch a beautiful sunset with stunning views of the coastline and Mt. Fuji. To reach the observatory park, you need to purchase a ticket, and there are paid escalators available to take you up to the observation tower. The view from the top is incredible, especially during sunset when the sky is filled with vibrant colors. The garden itself is peaceful, and it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended for a relaxing visit!
Javed_mate — Google review
I think we missed the excellent night view of the garden. And there were not much flowers also this time. It is an organized nice garden with nighttime lighting.
Shahed S — Google review
Well worth the ticket for the garden and the sea candle. Sea candle offers fantastic views of the coast, especially if you go to the open air deck (which will be freezing in winter, so bring a coat and some heat packs) You’ll spend most of your time at the garden itself, which features fantastic viewing points of the coast, various restaurants, cafes, food stalls, and pubs. In winter there are spectacular light shows.
Christian — Google review
We went there for the lantern Festival and it was magical! The lights were amazing and although there was a lot of people we still managed to enjoy it!

A botanical garden located on Enoshima Island in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture. Established in 1880 by British merchant Samuel Cocking, the garden features a variety of tropical plants and seasonal flowers. Highlights include the Enoshima Sea Candle, a tall lookout tower offering panoramic views, and a restored 19th-century greenhouse housing tropical plants. It's a scenic and peaceful spot for nature lovers. 🌿🌸
Yang — Google review
I was there in the evening to take advantage of the Shonan light festival (10,000 candles) in there. I believe it runs until early November. It was really cool and nice to see. I really enjoyed my evening there. Just a reminder when you're buying tickets to enter. You'll need the same ticket to exit, so remember where you put and don't throw in the garbage after entering.
Db2 A — Google review
A great place to visit and definitely one of multiple excellent sights to see on Enoshima Island. It’s pretty big with a couple of cafes and nice seating to relax and take in the views. The flowers are beautiful and there are many different types. I would recommend paying the ¥1000 fee to use the escalators and it will give you access to other venues so it pays for itself.
RTrev3 — Google review
A surprisingly timid park at first if you visit in December, but it lights up and becomes a true LED wonderland at night. I highly recommend coming around 5PM when they have the countdown for the sea candle lights starting. It's a real spectacle.

Kamakurakōkō-Mae Station is a key stop on the train route that connects several notable attractions in Kamakura. From here, visitors can easily access Hase Station, Goryo Jinja Shrine, Hasedera Temple, and the iconic Kamakura Daibutsu great Buddha.
The Station is a beautiful place, especially for Slam dunk fans. I visited to take the famous train crossing shot, and it was amazing. The station is small and often crowded, but the view of the sea is stunning and worth visiting!
Cindy — Google review
This railway station, located right beside the sea in Kamakura, is a popular tourist attraction known for its scenic views. Every day, thousands of visitors come here to capture stunning photos and videos of the train passing with the ocean as a backdrop. It's a unique and picturesque spot that combines natural beauty with the charm of local transport. Today, the weather was windy, cool, and very pleasant—perfect for enjoying the seaside atmosphere.
Ni S — Google review
A beautiful place where you can take picture of a train passing by a stop with the sea is the background. Try to avoid peak hours like mornings and afternoons because there is a high school of the hill and there will be a lot of foot traffic.
Skylar — Google review
For fans of Slam Dunk, a visit to Kamakura is a must when you come to Japan. If you have time, you can also explore Enoshima, where life moves at such a slow pace that you’ll naturally want to linger a little longer.
H.Franklyn L — Google review
A very busy station. Not just because of n high school students but also the animation of Slam Dunk’s opening scene attracting lots of tourists coming to this place for photos.
Antony L — Google review
This station is designated as the viewing platform for Shichirigahama beach. The view is stunning.
Daniel B — Google review
Crowded train station full of tourist! People come here to see the similarities between the Slamdunk manga and the real one. And indeed, it the same! This is a beautiful train station facing the beach. We came here after lunch time, took pictures, and wait for the sunset. It has real beauty!
Thyas P — Google review
If you're an anime fan especially Slam Dunk, this station should be part of your anime pilgrimage journey. This station is soooo beautiful, I came here early in the morning and they were no crowds at all. I reached the station around 6.50am and the view is just as beautiful as sunset time, just different color palette. This place is kinda dreamy, a train station by the sea, it's so serene and calming in the morning. After taking photos in the morning, I went to visit the temples around Kamakura then after lunch hang around at the beach near the station waiting for sunset. Following this plan you can get both day view and sunset view of the stations. Enjoy your visit 😊

Seafood restaurant
Enoshima-tei is a must-visit restaurant on Enoshima Island, offering a delightful dining experience with its fantastic food, friendly service, and breathtaking views of Sagami Bay. The menu features prawn noodles, grilled fish, sashimi, and sake. Despite potential queues on busy days, the fast service and delicious seafood make it worth the wait. The restaurant also caters to non-seafood lovers with meat and pork options.
This place was a proper hidden gem. It’s a really big traditional Japanese restaurant, and the staff are all super kind and professional. There’s outdoor seating, and you’re free to choose wherever you’d like to sit. The view is stunning. I had the only non-fish option as I don’t eat fish, and it was great. Naturally, it’s perfect for fish and seafood lovers to enjoy everything fresh by the ocean.
Natasha M — Google review
Great view near window seating with relatively minimal waiting. Food overall was fine, though fried chicken was quite disappointing. Tempura amount was a little light but tasted fine. Waiter didn't bother to refill glasses but areas were well cleaned and food came timely.

This restaurant was amazing. Almost before closing they allowed my family of 10 to have dinner. Ricky, our server was so kind, funny and patient; he offered and excellent service and made us feel comfortable. Food was served sooooo fast!! And the flavor was impecable, freshness guaranteed. We ate at the tatami area during sunset and the view and atmosphere were incredible. If I were to visit Enoshima I would visit this place again without a doubt. Muchas gracias!!
Tania F — Google review
The food was great. The view was great. The service was great. At first, I was hesitant to come in, because my Japanese is bad. But, the staff did their best to serve me the best possible way. I've truly enjoyed the food that was served to me. This place has a great view of the ocean and interior design was also good. It actually felt like I was at cultural exchange.
G D — Google review
Great view! Quick and warm service! Variety of food to choose from. Good quality! Very fresh! There are many payment channels. Restaurant also has an on-site restroom. Tables can be chosen from western, tatami seating, and also veranda.
Matsuaki S — Google review
I really enjoyed eating here! The fish was very fresh and the staff working were quick, attentive and friendly. It has that local and relaxing feel to it and I like how you could ask for a seat with a view.
Jiayi B — Google review
They have beautiful views of the surrounding areas and the sea below. The food was tasty, though I found the portion of the main to be small; I'd need a set meal to fill up. Service was not bad, but it was a bit disorganised, especially when it came to sitting people down. There was a queue of people waiting in the heat even though there were plenty of available tables.
Aris — Google review
Had a very nice meal with local specials. Happy that I didn't order more of the baby fish, because it's definitely not my taste. The restaurant has a very nice set up, you have to remove shoes to enter, but sit at a European style table. The window seats have a nice view. I was a bit further inside, but could enjoy it a bit as well. There is a small waiting area inside and a good que Management with pulling numbers. Had to wait only 10 mins to get in on a day during the week. The food tasted good and the inside is very pleasant. Would visit it anytime again!

Italian restaurant
Cafe
Il Chianti Cafe Enoshima is a charming cafe located near Enoshima's Kamegaoka Plaza in Fujisawa City. As the sister establishment to Il Chianti Beache on the Katase Coast, this cafe offers a diverse menu featuring approximately 100 varieties of Italian dishes made with local ingredients such as shirasu whitebait.
A slice of Italy on Enoshima! The food here was great and being Italian myself, it was close to what is cooked back home, far better than American attempts at Italian cuisine. The pizza was great, the spaghetti was excellent and the Birra Moretti was the cherry on top. The staff was friendly and the seaside view was beautiful.
Chris V — Google review
The food was great! Nice place to reward yourself after climbing all the way to the top. I had this meal after walking from Kamakura to Enoshima, and then going up to the top. The trains were too crowded that day so walking seemed like a better option. The food I was able to eat after that journey is definitely something to remember.
Rica — Google review
Great place to enjoy enoshima view from up the mountain. You can see directly to the sea in the terrace. However you have to wait a bit long for the place to be available. It can be helped since many people visit the island daily. At that time we waited for around 50 minutes. we had vegetarian pizza and long potato menu. The pizza is so good. Juicy and crunchy. I particularly like the avocado on top of the pizza. The long potato is very tasty and crunchy also. The staff are kind. You can pay cashless by card, or qr code application such as paypay. The menu however a bit expensive due to the location.
Lalu — Google review
Very nice cafe. Great experience. Would recommend pizza and the burger. You can taste the literal depth of the sea while eating the burger. Prolly not going back though. Recommended!

Surprisingly, the duck curry was amazing. The garlic bread too. Our server unfortunately forgot my Hokkaido ice cream which is minor but overall good experience. Great view for sunset watching. It gets chilly at night.

Great place to enjoy the delicious lunch with an amazing and mind blowing ocean view one the terrace. Food and drinks were so delicious and reasonably priced. Staffs were friendly too. I had grilled chicken and Shirasu pizza and hot lemonade. Everything I had were super delicious! Really recommend the terrace seat!

You get an awesome view of the sea. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good (I got pizza) and the service was fine. I recommend this place either for a meal or just for a pause (something like coffee and cake) in the outdoor area

A pretty iconic place to visit as you'll always remember a great meal on the porch of this island restaurant overlooking the sea. Food is nice with a varied menu, good for sharing and trying different things. Very good service also. Probably as good as you'll find for Italian food in Japan. I recommend the affogato, it tasted very authentic!

Restaurant
Diego By The River is a laid-back eatery with a river-view terrace offering burgers, burritos, salads, cakes, and cocktails. Located at the top of Enoshima, it boasts a tropical garden filled with an array of seasonal flowers and plants. The ambiance is cute with records playing and a beautiful view. They offer vegan options including burgers, burritos, falafel sandwiches, and taco rice.
We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant after a long walk from the train station, fresh off the train from Tokyo and still jet-lagged from Canada. We ordered a salad and a burger with fries, and wow, the food was absolutely delicious and arrived in under 10 minutes! The atmosphere was just what we needed: relaxing music, a cozy table by a wide open window with a beautiful view of the river. It felt like the perfect escape. To top it all off, our server was incredibly friendly and charming, she made the experience even better. This place may be a bit off the beaten path, but it’s 100% worth the detour. Highly recommended!
Gregoz G — Google review
Great restaurant that's near the Enoshima bridge, recommended to eat here first coming from the train station of Enoden line. We had the vegan burger, shrimp and falafel. It was really good with a unique flavour. Loved the people owning the shop and the music being played.
Avalanche — Google review
Ok place for casual lunch. It was more like a place for moms while their kids are in school. When we visited for lunch, my husb was the only guy there as guests and all others were women. Food was ok. The portions were on the smaller side, IMO, and it was not filling enough for my husb. Fries needed to be ordered separately...
Akiko — Google review
One of the best vegan burgers I've had in Japan, with great sauce and generous serving of avocado. Located on the 2nd floor next to the river, indoor and outdoor patio seating are available.
Steven C — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, especially with its beautiful location near the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. I’d definitely love to visit this place again!
Supun A — Google review
We ordered take out but the place has a really nice atmosphere, kind of an Americana diner feel. We had some baked good, carrot cake, some cookies and a brownie, they were okay but I think they could have used a little bit of salt to really improve the flavor.
J B — Google review
If you are a vegetarian or vegan visiting Enoshima, consider this joint. It’s in the second floor, good ambience with record player music, and good views of the Enoshima Sea Candle at night. The burrito and burger are good, but the tortilla of the burrito isn’t toasted, so it gets a little bit soggy with time. The sweet chili and sour cream fries and the key lime pie were the highlight of the meal.

Kid friendly, great food, classic tunes played from vinyl! We enjoyed the burger, pulled pork burrito, and pasta. Our crew wants to return while on our visit to Enoshima.
