We went to this restaurant for dinner during our 1 night stay in Aleppy. We had 3 dishes - 1. Steamed rice. 2. Paneer roast 3. Chicken curry. In depth Review - Food - Both the Paneer roast and chicken curry were marvellous. Paneer roast could be paired with Roti and rice and it would be great with either. It is slightly on the spicier side but not overwhelming. The Chicken curry with the rice teamed up as the ultimate comfort food. The spicyness of the curry was mild and yet soothing. Seating & ambience - There is ample seating space and the staff at this place was courteous. Location - located very close to a auto stand. Overall Impression - It was a memorable dinner for us at this busy restaurant during our Kerala tour.

Thaff Hotel is the hotel that was opened and food 🥑 available for eating 😀 other restaurants were closed in peak hour also most of them are lunch specials not dinner special.we had appam with matar masala , tandoori rooti with chicken gravy with ample amount of portions with salads lemon 🍋 slices.Really good as compared to other options available nearby.Non veg option were more veg also had limited options due to heavy rain less crowd i think.But owner staff behaviour Polite and helpfull in menu selections explained what's available in menu as well as food readily available in there kitchen.thank you Thaff Hotel for serving us properly and filled stomach with good warm food.deifinelty i will do visit again if got chance to eat at these cozy place.₹10 per piece appam was super budget friendly.

Disappointing Experience at Thaaf* I recently visited Thaaf with my brother, and we shared an order of chicken and beef biryani. Unfortunately, the biryani fell short of our expectations. The quality of the rice used was subpar, and the overall taste was below average. The beef biryani had only 2 pieces of beef, which were average in quality. I couldn't finish my portion due to the lack of flavor and quality. My brother also couldn't finish the chicken biryani, although I found it slightly better than the beef option when I tried it. Compared to our past experiences at Thaaf, the food quality seems to have declined significantly. I'm extremely disappointed and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone based on our recent visit.

Taste of food was not as expected. Seafood we tried was the only good thing about the restaurant. Do try their fish and prawns. Weirdly the bathroom is quite uncomfortable to use in thic place.

I recently visited Thaff, Alappuzha and had a wonderful experience. I ordered Chicken 65, Chicken Roast, Appam, and Porotta, and everything was simply amazing. The Chicken 65 was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and perfectly spiced – not too oily, just the right balance of flavors. The Chicken Roast was rich and aromatic, with a delicious gravy that paired perfectly with both Appam and Porotta. The Appams were soft and fluffy in the center with crispy edges, just how they should be. The Porottas were layered, flaky, and fresh, making the meal even more enjoyable. Apart from the food, the service was quick, and the staff were polite and attentive. The ambiance was simple but comfortable, giving more focus to the food quality. Overall, it was an awesome experience – tasty food, reasonable pricing, and a place I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting Alappuzha. Looking forward to trying more dishes from their menu next time!

Really, really need to improve food quality and taste. We visited for breakfast and ordered a masala dosa, scrambled eggs and bread butter. The dosa had suspiciously red filling, sweetish in taste, while the scrambled eggs were put on a wet plate and had absorbed water, making them soggy. No salt or pepper put on the eggs. Ordered lemon tea after, and were served black tea with lemon on the side. Very bad experience.

In the era of fancy cafes, this place is very authentic and still maintains its vibe, there are very few places like this, very reasonable prices. Loved the coffee.

I had an egg curry which I felt was mediocre. Service was laid back. The biryani looked popular as a lot of people were having it. Generally okay but I’ve been to better Indian coffee houses.

Had chicken biriyani, they still serve chicken biriyani with 2 pieces boiled egg and pappad as during the good old days.Biriyani was of large rice and could be improved taste wise.In Alappuzha there are many better biriyani options but those who need a change could definitely try here.Parking is a problem for four wheelers

It’s a nice place but food is very ok ok, I expected better food as icf is like a chain. We tried dosa, vada , tea and the cutlet. The cutlets was good. Also the masala dosa was a bit weird with red filling, normally it’s the yellow potato filling. Wouldn’t recommend it The vada was also cold

This restaurant is looks like old. Taste was decent. We asked for masala dosa. Looks like they use beetroot masala as masala in masala dosa instead of potato masala. Coffee was bitter. This place is just beside KSRTC Bus station Alappuzha, Alleppy. This place is huge and staff are helpful. Clean and hygienic place. You can have snacks. Sambar and chutney was too good. You should try their vegetable cutlet

I used to visit here . Masala dosa and coffe it's really good . But my bed is cutlet any cutlet is really tasty . Space enough space for everyone. You can hangout for a long time. This restaurant have not a cost ambiance but style . The staff work systematically. They still where the uniforms with the long cap . Clean and neet . I love this place.

However, we noticed some areas for improvement. Notably, no menu was provided, and the restaurant experienced a brief power outage, leaving us dining without lights and fans for approximately five minutes. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by several issues. The interior cleanliness was lacking, with visible dust accumulation on the ceilings. Moreover, we observed our server interacting rudely with another table of guests, pressuring them to order quickly due to the impending kitchen closure. This behavior was unprofessional and unwarranted. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the billing process. Our server presented the bill without inquiring if we desired additional items, such as desserts or snacks. Furthermore, he explicitly requested a cash payment, including a tip. When I opted for digital payment, he persistently asked for a tip, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. To improve, Hotel Aryaa's management should focus on providing menus, ensuring electricity backup, enhancing interior cleanliness, and training staff on respectful communication. Most importantly, educate staff that tips are voluntary, not mandatory. Despite these shortcomings, the food quality was satisfactory. We plan to revisit Hotel Aryaa's when passing through Alappuzha, hoping that necessary improvements will be made to enhance the overall dining experience.

I visited this restaurant for my masala dosa search in Alappuzha. I tried their masala dosa with vada. Dosa was good, vada average. They served 2 chutneys + sambar and refilled them. Coconut chutney and sambar were nice, but the other chutney wasn’t great. Staff weren’t very responsive. Price was ₹101. 👉 Didn’t earn a ranking.

1. Masala Dosha ( 3/5) Compared to other Aryas, they serve us Dosha that's too small and less crispy. It is also over priced. Costs around Rs 90 2. Onion uthappam (4/5) A must try from here, it costs around Rs 95 and it is crispy. It could have been improved by size though. Both of the above come with sambhar and coconut chutney. Service is good, they have table service and they give the best service. They accept NFC payments.

Just now visited this restaurant for lunch. I’m a Tamil girl living in alleppey. I was craving for some Tamil food and yet the reviews were mixed, I decided to have lunch here. First of all, I waited for a long time to give my order. The restaurant was fully packed and many were having meals, so nobody came to take my order. Finally got my food, chilly parotta. The food was good. But I couldn’t finish it, and hence asked for a parcel of the leftover which again took so much time. Even after the upi payment, I waited to confirm it with the cashier for which he nodded like my school principal. Overall the ambience and food is okay but the service is pathetic.

I go eat with my friends and my cousin we order Three beef biryani. The order was very quick they deliver the food and they serve biryani rice little quanity and the most things I found in three biryani is big quanity of onion masala this make the biryani very boring and even the onion make the biryani worst. And also the biryani masala is extremely cook and doesn't enjoy the nothing about the food 😒 😑

Never go here. A lot of waiting... When we went there, already 8 tables were waiting and everyone was angry. We were 9th table getting ready to wait. So we did look for sometime on the menu. Average food with high price. Waiters should learn to behave. No parking facilities. Very hard to find the restaurant as it is situated at congested street. Some excellence award of 2013. But haven't noticed any quality of the same. Hope they can improve the customer realtionship. No offence

If you are looking for a good spot to have awesome coffee - don‘t look any further! I know it can be hard to find good coffee on India, they use an Italian espresso machine and the coffee is so good! On top of that the barista Raul is such a nice guy and the ambience right at the water is just lovely. 100% recommended!

This is the best coffee shop in Alleppey. Rahul is a great guy and expert barrister. He uses a very good Italian made espresso machine. I know of only 1 other in the area. You will get drip coffee other places. He has food as well. I have included a menu.

The sweetest café in Alappuzha! The owner takes great care of the guests and the coffee is outstanding. Such a serene and beautiful location. Food was also delicious!

One of the best in south india. We have been traveling for more than two weeks in south India and it was so hard to find a good cafe with great food and drinks like cappuccino in a reasonable price. But, this place offers a great menu with a very high quality foods and drinks. Finally, the staff are so nice and friendly. Highly recommend to go and experience it.

This is our third time in Thumboly Beach not far from Alapphuzha. We always stop into Paradiso Espresso when we come into town. Raoul is the nicest, friendliest person. He even remembers us from year to year, The coffee is great and we usually get a bowl of freshly cut, cold, refreshing watermelon. We look forward to sitting by the water and resting with a nice chat.

We recently visited this restaurant. We were looking for a nice family restaurant on our way to Trivandrum, and we suddenly came across this place. First of all, there is plenty of parking available, and the interiors are quite nice, air-conditioned with lots of seating. We ordered the Chamba Putta along with freshly prepared Appam, Porotta. To pair with we ordered egg roast and beef curry. The egg roast has two eggs, which is enough for two people, and the beef curry was tasty. The Porotta was fluffy, soft. But the Appam though crispy was very light, while the puttu was not that great, felt a bit dry. Still, it was a nice dining experience. The washrooms were maintained clean.

Good place and location. The banana fury had got some essence flavour . Coffee is just ok . Service was slow. This was felt by at least 4-5families there. Probably they were tired after much service. The staff are not experienced. They keep forgetting orders and lacked continuity. This made the dining experience less than what we hoped

A nice place at the next location to enjoy great food with your family. The location is easy to access. We had appam and biryani. They had great tea and coffee too. Another thing that makes this place special is the snacks they sell. Murukku was great and kids loved it.

Visited Avees Puttu House in Punnapra during a recent trip, and I was honestly impressed by the overall experience. If you love traditional stay it's preferred, The ambiance are good, They don't even provide a bathing soap, There's no car parking which is a negative, If you're are group of people wants to spend time together it's recommended. No cold/hot water provided, The blanket and bedsheets are old enough to use and not comfortable, The ceiling fan was full of dust one of my friend got dust allergy she was sneezing all night. Most of the rooms are small and in one of the room a person can barely stand and sit.

After a long day at the beaches, i wanted to go somewhere to spend sometime and relax. I read the reviews of this restaurant on google and as it was the nearest to me and this was the best option available. I went , had banana and honey pancake along with cold coffee and it tasted great. The owner was very friendly and made me very comfortable. She is a nice lady. Would definitely recommend this place 😊

Looked like it was still under refurbishment/construction during our visit, but the style is already pretty cool. Good vibes, a great place to chill and enjoy your time and your meal. Excellent value for money. Huge compliments for the chefs. (P.S.: The toilets should be a bit more looked after, and bring a mosquito spray with you.)

The place is lovely and the atmosphere really cool. There is a beautiful garden inside. Decoration and lighting is great. The music is excellent. You just can't leave the place. Food and drinks could be improved. There is also a guesthouse at the same place.

Wonderful ambience. Totally recommended as long as you're a Tourist. BUT, If you're a bunch of guys looking for a fine place to dine and wouldn't want your evening to get spoiled, I'd suggest you visit some other place. My friends and I came here on 12/2/2018. Once the dishes were ordered, we had to wait another hour and a half for it to arrive. (Even when no other customers were around at the time of our arrival) Once the dishes did arrive it got much worse. The Cheese pancake was near unpalatable and even the fresh lime juice was way too bitter. In short, the service and the food were nothing short of pathetic. The service could be greatly improved upon if you treat all your customers alike just like almost all other restaurants do.

Best ambiance, great food and even better hosts. In love with the place.❤️ A serene place to spend time alone as well as with friends. The sitting area (hut) is suitable for a big family/ friends get togethers. The sitting area has a top floor with dim lights where you can enjoy the stary sky with few beers.🍻 All around the restaurant there are beautiful artworks. The only drawback was that we had to wait for the food but the hosts were very friendly and full of spirit that the we had a lot fun along with them.🥳🥳 There is light music playing at the background making it a overall cozy place to read a book along with a cup of coffee...🍮📖 I would recommend the place only if you really want to enjoy the ambiance of the place you are planning to have food and the company of the people who are serving you.🥰

It’s a nice and clean place to eat with traditional Local food, I personally liked the ambience and the name of the restaurant as well. Srikumari ji served us food, we loved the service and she also helped us understand the food items and how to eat them. Have hosted here twice already in 2 days. I’m sure will keep coming. :)

I dont understand 🤔 how himalaya Bake & more got some of the 5 * and 4 * reviews🤣🤣.if you want the food, order the food at least two hours before you want the food 🥲.. the lady staff in the cash counter of the bakery is very rude🫡.. the hygiene is pathetic.. we can get good food from the small shops in front of the bake & more. The owner should teach the staff how to deal with the customers😬 .. only if he wishes to bring his property to the next level.

We only ordered 9 tea and 9 samosa. They served samosa initially and later 15 minutes they gave us 5 tea and rest of others waited another 15 minutes to get tea. The restaurant was not neat. Washrooms are below average. Spacious restaurant. Overall not good. Better to stick with any other restaurants.

I had a very disappointing experience at Himalaya Bakery and Confectionaries in Kalavoor . The food quality was terrible the biryani was clearly old, tasteless, felt salty and just reheated in the oven. Even the pickle had a stale, unpleasant taste. The fried chicken piece served was cold, and the papadum was not at all hot or crispy, feeling like it was made long ago. The hygiene standards were also very poor. The washing area was badly maintained — the hand sanitizers were half-empty and not usable, with the pump and bottle kept separately. On top of that, the staff were very loud and unprofessional. They were sitting around, talking and laughing among themselves, without caring about the customers. The customer service was completely lacking. Overall, I had a very poor experience and would not recommend this place to anyone.

I had a highly unsatisfactory dining experience a few days ago. Our order, which included standard rice and prawn roast meals, arrived after an unacceptable delay and was incorrect; we received fish curry meals instead. The fish curry, which appeared to be catfish, was of poor quality. The prawn roast contained an insufficient quantity of prawns (approximately 9-12 pieces) and was excessively spicy. Even the rasam was overly spicy. The total cost of Rs. 700 for two meals and one prawn roast was exorbitant, especially considering the substandard quality. I will not be returning to this place.

I saw the Himalaya logo and instantly thought "quality". But I was really disappointed to say that I got a worm from the veg curry that I ordered. They took it back and served another curry, but the table sitting beside me was eating the same batch of veg curry and they did not even bother to check in on them or take their dish back. At first the impression that one gets is that this place is a bakery. But once inside, you feel the difference. It is a full fledged restaurant. Just visited today evening. Situated just a step away from the national highway on the way to Trivandrum from Ernakulam, it is a wayfarers delight. The food here is exemplary. The service was courteous and the ambience great. The first floor is well furnished and is ideal for a tired wayfarer in search of good quality food at decent rates.

I ordered porotta and Gobi Manchurian yesterday. After half an hour, I got very bad food. The Gobi Manchurian had too much vinegar, and it didn't have capsicum or cauliflower. It also had too much maida. The taste was very bad. Never go there to eat.

The staff is welcoming and service is fine. Can work on quality as per the price. But not bad for a quick bite with a cup of coffee.

WARNING: NOT LIKE THE PHOTOS ON HOSTEL WORLD! SEE PHOTOS I’VE POSTED. We arrived to the hostel and found no one in the front lobby. I had to walk deep into the messy kitchen to find someone, who told me that the person that could help me wasn’t there so I had to walk around the building and to the back to find someone who could show us to our room. They showed us our room immediately. It was not like the pictures. The FAN WAS COVERED IN BLACK MOULD, more than I’ve ever seen. The bed SHEET HAD STAINS AND HOLES all over it, and the bed was rock hard. The path to get back to where I finally found someone to greet us smelled of urine. The lobby of the sleeping area was abandoned and had clothes and dirt all over. We immediately decided to leave and find something better. We walked down the street to Lemon Dew Beach house and it was amazing for pretty much the same price (1000 rupees for sea shore vs 1300 rupees for lemon dew). Really not sure how this got 8.8 on Hostelworld.

Didn’t stay here but the food is amazing this was literally the best veg thali I’ve had in India - super cheap as well! If you are here don’t skip this place for lunch 10/10 recommend. Also the lady who runs the place is super lovely!

Great food! The whole family is very sweet. We didn’t actually stay at the property but next time we’ll definitely stay here. Right on the beach. Great vibes. Trying the Thalis is a must. The hosts are very generous and you will experience an authentic taste of Kerala when you stay here.

Best sleep I've had in India, even though visually the room is very basic. The owners are so nice and genuine, it made the stay one to come back to. The restaurant on property offers the best food I've had in Kerala. Would gladly come again next year.

I stayed here in 2015. The family and food were excellent. I stayed in one of the round houses outside. No fan but a great sea breeze. They also hired us scooters at very reasonable prices.the place is a bit grubby but it suited us. We stayed 4 days. Loved it.

We only followed a cooking class, and this was a great experience. We could choose some dishes from the menu we wanted to learn. They invited us in the restaurant kitchen and kindly explained everything. The experience and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend to follow a cooking class here if you like a homely class!

Had an awesome time staying at this place. Affordable price, sea-facing, beautiful view, lots of space, great comfort. The management is too sweet and great. Very helpful. You can ask them for anything you need and they would try their best to help you out. The place is very close to the sea and you get a nice view from the restaurant. The place is quite airy and well decorated. Overall , a perfect place to stay near beach.

I visited this restaurant as part of my dosa hunt in Alappuzha. I tried their masala dosa and vada – both excellent. Served 2 chutneys + sambar, and the red chutney was outstanding. Though no refill, portion was sufficient. Also tried their Butter Masala Dosa and Ghee Podi Masala Dosa – both were delicious 😋. Minimalistic place, but the dosas had repeat value. 👉 Ranked 1st place in my list.

Finger licking pizza and has an authentic taste. The base was so soft and squishy , that it completely ruined the shape. It was around 11 at night so the place was about to close. Just had the look from outside and it instantly gave some great vibe . Our half an hour wait for the pizza was worth and we felt that when we had our pizza super hot. I have reserved the place for a second visit to try their other items.

Nice neat and budget friendly cafe at Alappuzha. Loved it. Food was good.. gave feedback to owner for Spaghetti. Steak was good as well. Pastries were simply awesome. When you order food, ask them to serve food all together if you are going as a group. Recommend Cafe Pumpkin

The place was good with great ambience. We had a great time there with the various games they offer. But the drinks didn't not match up. To ours expectations. We ordered a wide variety and the best of it was Crushed peanut shake. They mojitos was a bit too pricey compared to the quantity. The service was good.

Nice place, nice ambience. The staff are extremely helpful. And good service. I reached cafe pumpkin 10 mins before closing time. But they did keep the place open for another 45 mins, only for me. And the place has a foos ball table which lets you spend time until your food is ready. Food is good. Couldn't try a lot of dishes due to the time limitation. Overall experience was good.

Nice cafe situated at the heart of Alleppey.The ambiance appears to be excellent. Neat and tidy. The food is very good. We ordered Steak and Green Apple Iced Tea. It had a good taste. They've set up a few mini games to play. Overall, it was a very fulfilling experience.

Pretty bad service. Over priced and Cheap quality burgers. Shakes were too bad. Felt aweful at their service We complained about the situation and they couldn't be anymore careless even to acknowledge our complaint. During these tough times, these kind of attitudes makes it even tougher.
