A very special indeed museum village which is an UNESCO World Heritage site. The village has 8 ponds which are considered sacred to the pilgrims who go to visit Fujisan. On a perfect day you can see the best views of Mount Fuji from the village. There is no entrance fee to visit the ponds and the village. Also a great Market is at the entrance to the village on the right side. Against a fee of 300 Yen we visited also the Hannokibayashi Folklore Museum. I personally recommend 2 hours for the visit. If you are coming by car a lot of parking spaces are near the entrance ( 200 - 300 meters by foot ). On the road from the parking spots to the main village entrance are a lot of tasty foos stalls. We ate some tasty fried baby octopuses, some Wagyu Skewers and some super tasty donuts. Jump over if you are in the region. It worth it.

This place was beautiful and amazing to visit and experience. Even though it was a cloudy day, the spring waters were clear and beautiful. This place stays crowded, but you can escape that. Many places to try snacks and foods. The souvenir shops had a lot of good items. You can purchase fruits and many local foods. Their are walkable areas to enjoy some quietness. If you can book a group tour, it's better.

Beautiful place but very crowded with tourists. It’s better to visit early morning. Very comfortable to walk with your pet there. There is souvenir shop and food seller, I’ll recommend to try their mugwort rice cake and japanese peach tea.

Very cute village and lots of vendors. However, some Chinese tourists were acting absolutely crazy over the water fountain to taste the spring water. They brought 5L water bottles to fill up the water and did not follow the line as they didn’t want to wait their turn. In that sense, the experience was terrible but nothing against the village. It’s quaint and beautiful.

Oshino Hakkai is definitely worth a visit! A beautiful traditional village with charming old houses, delicious local snacks, and crystal-clear mountain spring water you can drink. From here you also get stunning views of Mount Fuji, which makes the place even more special. A peaceful atmosphere combined with history and nature – truly a must-see when in the Fuji area.

Very nice area with plenty of shopping and food options. Village atmosphere with some modern touches. Crystal clear water ponds. The water actually comes down from Mt Fuji. Parking was only 300 yen. Nice place to stop at if your in the area.

For English speakers. This is a fun small local aquarium. Be aware, nothing is in English, except for the scientific names. Definitely geared towards Japanese children for the locals but still a fun aquarium to go to see more of the fresh water fish. There are plenty of fish and since nothing is in English it took us about an hour to get through. Never seen this big of a catfish or koi fish before coming here. The tank full of the fresh water fish with salmon was awesome to see and fun for the kids. The facility is definitely a bit run down but it almost feels natural with the moss growing the way it is on the facility. All in all, if you are out this way and need something to do with the kids this is a great place to go. The Sakana Koen has a playground and a water area for kids to play in on a hot day.

This place is beautiful from outside in! We loved the landscape outside, the lovely centre of displays of plants and of coz the exciting aquarium.

Small and nice, the kids enjoyed it. Toilet is available. there are some interesting Creatures. Most of the information are in Japanese, so a translation app is a must.

A quiet, peaceful place. A place for you who just want to enjoy the simple nature. The aquarium is just a very nice, neat, and educating place. They also have a study room too. Separated building from the aquarium, a place contains various of floras to study for.

Lovely place and the surroundings are beautiful. The food is delicious and steaming hot and the staff courteous. The fall colours are beautiful in November. The matcha ice cream was good. Good place for a lunch break

We can see many kinds of trout. The yamame trout, which has a colorful spot on its side, is very beautiful. There was a small stream near the aquarium, and my son played in the water.

Another unexpected find outside of the touristy Kawaguchi area. A quaint aquarium (500yen enterance fee) filled with small marine life catered for families with children. There is also a playground and a natural forest education centre behind the aquarium that are free to entry and equally nice to visit.

INCREDIBLY Tattoos UNFRIENDLY. Not mentioned once on the website. Even covers won’t do. More Cameras in the lockers than in a bank. Baths are good but not sensational. Staff was unfriendly, it feels they are entitled for their success quite a lot to make you feel like a nobody. And that’s was also towards Natives.

Unfortunately, we couldn't see Mt. Fuji this day, it was raining. So we spent the whole day at the hot spring, and it was really good. The food was good in taste and price, the bath facilities were really good and the rest of the space was comfortable.

We had an amazing experience at the Onsen. The views of Mt. Fuji from the outdoor baths is unbeatable. The stone bath was really hot! It was the perfect way to warm up.

Was confused at first by the “bit of Shingen Software” option on the food-ordering computer. It turned out to be some rather delicious ice cream! The onsen is lovely. It was foggy and cool when we went. When there is no fog, I wonder if you can see Fuji-San from the hot pools outside? There are dry and wet (aroma) saunas as well as a cool bath, bubble pool, and varying degrees of hot bath.

I wish I'd try and I trust the high alcaline (>10) bath water, sauna & steam room were great but... public baths only and no swimsuit allowed (in addition to a few more prohibitions): so you must be comfortable to go publickly naked. Open at 11am.

This public hot spring near Lake Yamanaka has excellent facilities that are clean and well-maintained, with various types of baths and an on-site restaurant. However, the biggest downside is that everything costs extra money beyond the entrance fee - you have to pay for towels, pay to open lockers (though they refund the locker fee), and constantly make additional payments throughout your visit. This gets really annoying when you just want to relax. The facilities themselves are good with diverse options, and it tends to get crowded. Parking is quite limited, making it difficult to find a spot. They sell Yuru Camp merchandise, apparently because the place was featured in the anime. Be very careful in the outdoor baths - the floors are slippery from the mineral water, and there are protruding stones on the bottom that can painfully cut your toes if you’re not watching where you step. Despite the irritating fee structure, the hot spring quality itself makes it worthwhile if you don’t mind the extra costs.

Bring your own small towel is fine. No need to rent a big towel because you’ll dry off very quick in locker room

Overall a good camping with some indoor places for kids to play on case of rain for example. The camping spots are okay. The one we got was wide but only made of stones which is not ideal to lay a tent comfortably, and not good to put tent pegs in. Very clean bathrooms and showers.

Almost didn’t pay the entrance ticket to go in but we were glad we did. We didn’t spend long there. We went off season but the flowers were still blooming and capture many nice shots. It wasn’t crowded when we were there so we could sit down and chill.

Summer time is too hot to visit, but there are ice cream and drinks available to purchase. Rent a peddle car is a nice way to see the park. The view of Mount Fuji from the park is beautiful.

We spent our early Saturday at Nagaike Water Park and had an absolute blast! It’s the perfect spot for a fun day out with the family. The splash areas were clean, well-maintained, and just the right size for kids to enjoy safely. There was plenty of shade and grassy areas to set up a picnic, and the whole place had a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. The water was refreshing, and the park layout made it easy to keep an eye on the little ones while still enjoying the scenery. We’ll definitely be back this spot is a gem for warm-weather weekends!

If is superb location for sunset and flower too. It is located just slightly pass Nagaike-iriguchi. The venue was awesome too compare to the usual park that everyone else goes. Slight feedback for those traveling by bus, Kindly travel back before 5pm because when the sun goes down transportation is not as easy at night unless you are fit to travel by foot

A great spot to take photos or videos of Mount Fuji. There are small benches with roof so you can rest and enjoy the breathtaking view. I stumbled upon the area while cycling around Yamanaka lake.

Best view to see mount Fuji at Yamanakako. Very quite, a lot of parking space. There’s also have gazebo to enjoy your food. Big bus can’t park here. Only small car and microbus can park here

This is certainly one of the best spots for viewing Mt. Fuji up close, and beautifully reflected in Yamanakako - both during the daytime, and as the sun sets behind it. We were there on a weekday, and although the parking lots were busy, we had no trouble getting a spot. In addition, there are some nice cafes nearby - again with great views looking out onto the lake.

One of the best views of Mt. Fuji, in a crisp winter morning the view is breathtaking. I am so thankful for the experience.

The Ikemoto Chaya restaurant was great for a quick lunch. I ordered udon noodles with mountain vegetables. It was served fast and was very tasty. This is not a fancy restaurant; it's a place to sit down, eat good food, and continue on your trip. Recommended!

Came here for the views, but stayed on to try the grilled fish. Totally worth it. The fresh, freshwater fish grilled over strong flames with just salt, so fresh and the flesh was extremely sweet. Not a bit of fishy-ness coming from the insides of the fish as well. Price was a bit steep for the size, but for the quality and the taste experience definitely worth it.

Great place to try Japanese fish!! Only 1000 yen and they have 3 kinds of fish. Great selection of cold and hot soba or udon! Highly recommended. Free flow of green tea and water. Have to take the pot, put the green tea bag inside and pour the hot water yourself. Great service

Ended up stopping here after getting stranded, they helped us call a taxi when we were unable to get any responses ourselves. All of our meals were nice and also had great blood orange plum wine and sake.

Such a wonderful restaurant with the best beef I have ever had! The wagyu rib was so tender and flavourful. We ordered: wagyu rib, rice, kimchi (incredible), egg soup and tofu. The staff were so kind and made sure we enjoyed ourselves, the prices are reasonable too.

This is my 2nd visit to Fuji-Q Highland, and I was worried about how the day would pan out as my last visit was atrocious! However, let me say that today was a very pleasant surprise! I paid for the priority entrance, which gets you into the park 30 minutes early (which is massively worth it). Head for the big coasters first - Zokkon and Fujiyama, as they get the biggest queues! They have a lot of great attractions, but make sure you read the opening times of all attractions as some things do close at 1.30pm and some open later in the day. They do have a detailed maintenance schedule on their website, but the opening and closing times did catch me out on my last visit. Also, attractions will close early depending on the queue times (for which they make announcements around the park), so make sure to plan everything you want to ride in time. There are vending machines next to each ride to buy fast passes, which is handy at busy times! The food stalls in the middle of the park are great, I had the Indian food which was lush. They are well-priced, too. There are lots of vending machines all around the park. There are at least 5/6 gift shops with lots of cool merchandise. There is also a 7-Eleven outside the park! Great for fussy eaters or cheap snacks! When visiting, make sure to plan ahead and get there early for a head start as when it's busy, it can be very unorganised and stressful.

We went on a Monday in late October, and it wasn’t too packed. At most we waited an hour for one of the big roller coasters. If you are looking for a park with some of the best roller coasters ever then this is it! We loved Takabisha so much, it was scary and exhilarating all at the same time! Eejanaika is going to mess with your mind, all its twists and turns. But there are other great rides too, a special mention needs to be made for Tondemina (La pizza) ride that was fantastic. This park is filled with thrills. We had the Fuji pizza which was great. As a tip, the all day pass lets you re-enter, we went back to our hotel then returned at night, well worth it. I’ve read reviews that say the safety checks take a while and they do but honestly I was glad for it. Was it worth the money? Absolutely! I’d love to go again on a clear day when I can see Mt. Fuji.

Amazing rides - better than any other amusement park i've been to. They lack the intricate themes other amusement parks have (e.g., Disneyland) - more bare bones adrenaline rush. And they are very good at this - rides are so fast and frenzied that it's actually important to listen to the instructions and maintain the posture they tell you to have. They require emtying all pockets before boarding rides, and also remove glasses (they didn't even allow using goggles). They have free lockers at each ride. There are some vegan options in the food court (vegan ramen and curry). Amusement park food, not bad but not good either. there is also a Starbucks with some vegan snacks and vegan lattes. When we were there the lines were very short, so we would probably could have done without the priority tickets we bought. But I read and heard that in most times the lines are very long, and priority passes are recommended. We bought everything in the fuji Q website - if the site crashes, try turning off the google translation - it worked for us.

Visited Fuji-Q Highland in May 2024 and it was amazing! The roller coasters like Eejanaika and Fujiyama were absolutely thrilling. The park was clean, staff super friendly, and the view of Mount Fuji made it unforgettable. Lines can be long, so go early or get a fast pass. A perfect mix of excitement and scenery — totally worth it!

We went on a Autumn Thursday so there weren't that much lines! We were able ride all the rides that were open that day. They closed some down pretty early like the pizzala and the paniclock. I think Dodonpa closed down. However, the must-try rides for speed and thrill that are usually open are Fujiyama, Takabisha (the vertical drop was amazing), Eejanaika(fast and fun), and Zokkon. The Naruto village was a great place for me since Im a Naruto fan!

Awesome theme park, Free entry pay per ride. 2000 yen for most expensive rides, Short wait time for rides wasn’t busy atoll rain or shine. The rollercoasters seem to stop in the rain though so keep that in mind. Food in park great and has a Starbucks. Highly recommended

This is also one of my favorite places. You can visit it all year round because the atmosphere changes with each season, which I really like. Even though I’m not a big fan of amusement parks, this one is okay. There are cafés, food trucks, and gift shops inside. However, the food and drinks are a bit expensive, so make sure you’re okay with that — you can also bring your own drinks. If it rains, most of the rides will be closed, but there are still other things to enjoy, like the haunted house, which I especially recommend.

Overall it was a good experience, however they could manage the boarding a bit better. We had to wait 10 minutes to go up, which was fine, however on the way back we had to stand around 15minutes in sun and around 30 overall. Unfortunately we didn't have a good weather, Mt Fuji was clouded, but there was a stunning view over the lake and good panoramic view. They serves food ( you could purchase it ) and there were vending machines however drinks were from 300 Yen

Great experience overall. Depending on the weather it can be a complete different story for sightseeing the Mont Fuji. I stayed at Kawaguchiko for several days. The second morning the bad weather left for a few hours. I went to buy tickets a second time right at the opening of the shop, even though there were already people, I didn't have to wait for the lift. I only waited 30 secondes to buy the ticket at the vending machine. Be careful of the timing, when I left, there were so many people waiting for the lift, I guess the last ones had to wait for at least 30 minutes before taking the shuttle and the weather was hot. Since we had a very cloudy weather for a long time it was easy to guess everyone would jump on the occasion for taking good pictures of Mont Fuji, before leaving for another city. There are several activities up there. If you have a lot of time, I believe there is also a trail. It says on the signs you need 6 hours so watch out for the last shuttle, and this is at your own risks. I went to check a little bit. On the track I met several people going back to the crowded main spot but then after maybe 2 minutes there was no one anymore. I stayed close to a small shrine for about 15 minutes. You can still see Mont Fuji and landscape from the forest. The peace and the wind between the trees felt amazingly refreshing. You could still walk for a long time, but I decided to go back downstairs and enjoy my day an other way.

Decent place. There is a ride up on an aerial cable car with windows from all sides. They let a limited amount of people on per ride so you're guarenteed to see a great view. There are unfortunately just 2 cars so to get on/off is a bit of waiting in line in the sun. On top there are swings that face Mt Fuji and can be mesmerizing. There was one working telescope, and a little store selling snacks and drinks. The ice cream was fantastic. It was a perfect fit for the trip up. There is also the legend of the mischievous usagi (rabbit) with stories setup before boarding, and a shrine at the top. The main part is the view of Mt Fuji... it unfortunately depends on the weather. It is a great location to see the mountain but when we went, the peak was covered with clouds. We only saw it on our flight. You also get a good view of the theme parks below.

This Mt. Fuji viewpoint is beautifully landscaped with authentic Japanese-style flower gardens. Every corner looks picture-perfect, offering a stunning mountain view. It’s a pity that the fog was thick today, so we couldn’t see the peak of Mt. Fuji.

This was a good experience but the queues were insane. Maybe because it was a holiday weekend, or maybe it's like that all the time. The views from the top are amazing, but after taking a few pictures I got back on line to go down. It was a two-hour experience which 1 hour and 45 minutes was spent standing in line. The ropeway is less than 10 minutes riding up and down. If you want to explore or wander, be careful of bears. The line does not get shorter.

Not worth it if you can trek for 45min. It’s very crowded and can take up to an hour in the quene for a 2min rope way. The views could be nice but it’s a hit or miss. Try to go towards the right end of the rope way as you can’t see the mt Fuji anyways The trek is worth it with great views. The way is marked and you can’t get lost.

We went in Summer Aug 2025. Very nice views, easy and short ride up. We went in the morning 9am+ so no queue at all. The area on top is not big.. just one snack shop and one souvenir shop, as well as the swing. Quite easy walk, so won't take long up there, other than the ropeway queues. There was a very long queue when we came down back around 10am+ We were there a day earlier in the cloudy afternoon 3pm+ and the ropeway was closed due to potential lightning. So do come by earlier if you don't wanna miss this place. No, that wasn't Mt Fuji's ash cloud, just the normal cloud trying to be funny...

Chureito Pagoda: Great Effort, Small Reward ​The visit to the Chureito Pagoda is a classic example of excessive effort for an insufficient payoff—unless, of course, you luck out with the perfect day. ​The frustration begins immediately: an exorbitant parking fee of 1,000 JPY is demanded on almost every street corner, giving the feeling of being squeezed by tourists even before starting the climb. ​Next comes the exhausting ascent up hundreds of steps. This is a significant physical effort that certainly leaves visitors with high expectations for what awaits them at the top. ​But to great disappointment, the pagoda itself is not particularly impressive. It's nice, but it hardly justifies the arduous climb. ​In fact, the entire experience hinges on visibility: If you are lucky enough to have a clear, sunny day where Mount Fuji is revealed in all its glory and perfectly frames the red pagoda, then the picture is worth a million yen, and the effort is justified. However, if you arrive on a hazy, cloudy, or simply low-visibility day, the whole experience turns into a waste of precious time and energy. ​Bottom Line: It's only worth visiting if you are absolutely certain that the visibility to Mount Fuji's peak will be perfect.

I went at 5:30am in the morning thinking the crowd wouldn't be so bad. There definitely was a crowd there to see the iconic view of the pagoda and Mt Fuji. But the crowd wasn't too intense. Majority like minded "travellers". Too early for the mainstream tourist and influencer wannabes. The next time I think I would go just before daybreak and watch the sun rise over the majestic mountain. If you're thinking about taking the stairs up, it is a bit of a hike up, so be prepared. Don't be ashamed to have a stop and drink some water. There's a toilet at the top as well. And if you want the trail continue into the mounting going to the other side toward Lake Kawaguchi.

Chureito Pagoda is one of the most memorable places we visited in Japan. The climb up the stairs can be a bit tiring, but the view at the top is absolutely worth it. Seeing Mount Fuji framed behind the pagoda feels almost unreal. It is a place full of beauty and peace, and definitely something to experience at least once in a lifetime.

On our trip to Japan, my wife really wanted to see Mount Fuji from this top rated location. Not many people know that there is a dedictaed website that shows visibility level of Mount Fuji and provides hourly updates. We took a bus from Tokyo (Shinjuku station) to Chuodo Shimo Yoshida station and walked to the pagoda to see this stunning view. The walk to the entrance of pagoda is about 20 minute and then up to the pagoda is another 15-20 minute hike but definitely worth it.

We arrived at 715am on a cloudy October Tuesday morning. The pagoda is surrounded by beautiful forest, the observation deck serves to give you that magic photo with the pagoda and Mt Fuji behind it. We didn’t see the mountain today but it was still a beautiful sight. There is quite a walk to get to the pagoda up stairs or going around a winding path. There were signs warning you about bears (we didn’t see any) and there were hardly any people at this time of day. You can bring your dog for a nice walk too if you like. Parking is available, it seems you must pay for all or most of them but it’s worth it. It’s sad we didn’t get the ‘magic’ shot but it was a peaceful walk in a lovely area.

I first visited there around April — it was really nice. The cherry blossoms were beautiful, and the weather was perfect. After that, I went back a couple more times. But when you walk up the stairs, it can be a bit tiring, so make sure you’re ready. As some advice, wear something you can easily take off if it gets too hot, and don’t forget to bring some drinks with you.

What can you say, The main reason people come to Fuji. Pictures really don’t do it justice. Simply stunning, Patience needed though and luck plays big part of seeing Fuji. Took us 3 days to get these pictures. Well worth the climb to the top, Which we did 4 times😱

This was my second time visiting this place. This time, I went by bus with a Japanese co-worker who kindly arranged the transportation for us, allowing us to experience the scenic ride to the area. The location is quite elevated, so I recommend visitors be prepared for some uphill walking. Doing regular physical activities like jogging, walking, or running beforehand can definitely help you handle the climb to the observation deck more comfortably. We visited in June, and the number of tourists was noticeably lower compared to the peak months of March and April, making for a more relaxed experience. There are public toilets and a drinking fountain (faucet-style) available in the area. You might notice warning signs about bears and monkeys, though we didn’t encounter any during our visit. There’s also a small restaurant nearby that serves ramen, karaage (fried chicken), and sells souvenirs. A good spot to rest and enjoy a meal after the climb.

Going up was like hell. I’m not that fit, and those stairs really destroyed me. I had to catch my breath with every step I took. But once I got to the top, the view was absolutely mesmerizing. There was a big cloud covering Mount Fuji at first, so I waited and waited until the sky finally cleared. I’m glad I did, because after putting in all that effort, I didn’t want to just stare at clouds, lol. In the end, I’m really happy I made it up there and got to enjoy such a beautiful view.

Amazing view specially if Mt. Fuji shows during your visit. Always crowded so having a good photo without photo Bomber is hard to get. Note: No Entrance Fee but long hard walk. Not suitable for little ones. You need to climb the 398 stone steps to reach the top of the shrine for better view. Drink lots of water . Perfect time to visit: spring and winter

It is an absolutely amazing park. It’s located on a mountain where you got to see the Mount Fuji and the town below it. The tourists are all well mannered, queuing for their turn to take photos at the observation deck.

Incredible views of Mt Fuji from different views between the trees, above the pagoda, and around all the people🤣🤣🤣 climb up the 500 steps and take your time. Stop every 10-20 steps and look back to see if you can see Mt Fuji.

Beautiful park with an amazing view, Fuji-San was shy when we were up there. The climb was a bit steep for stairs but totally worth it. We took so many photosbut without Fuji-San 🥲 ! Highly recommend for anyone who loves photography or just wants a great view.

A 2 minute walk from the station and a gem to have your first meal in this beautiful town. We luckily got seats immediately but one sushi set option was already sold out. We chose the vegetarian set meal- it was superb. The colours, texture and balance was incredible. The veg tempuras were crisp. My son enjoyed the Sashimi Bowl meal. Fresh and filling.

Amazing sushi! The fish was some of the most fresh I have tasted in Japan. Everything was well executed. They sell out of items very fast and are only open for an hour and a half. So if you want to go plan to show up at 6pm when the doors open. It's definitely worth it though.

Great gluten free plant-based lunch set menu and super friendly and efficient service. The gluten free tempura with matcha salt was wild. Well done Shaw’s Sushi for taking care of people with allergies and doing it so well.

Authentic Japanese cuisine with fresh sashimi. The place is stylish and comfortable, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was very fresh, and I was lucky to get a table without a reservation. Definitely recommend coming here!

Wonderful experience at Shaw's last night! Went in alone. Service was quick and the presentation of the food was fantastic! I can highly recommend the Assorted Roll Set, along with the 3-piece Nigiri. It was a full meal, the sushi was incredibly tender!

Very nice set meals which I am sure everybody will fine something suitable. We had the salmon set which comes with 3 small rice bowls of 3 different types of salmon. The appetizers included a salad, sashimi (different fishes), small tempuras and chawanmushi. The dessert included miso soup and yuzu mochis. Cozy environment. Lady manager spoke very good English. A great meal after Mount Fuji hike.

Our first meal in Kawaguchiko and first decent meal for our Japan trip. Food and ambience were great. One of the rare sushi places In Kawaguchiko. After few days, we still think of this place. 😋

Very nice BBQ Japanese setting serving a good variety of seafood and meats. I would recommend ordering ala carte unless you're a tofu, fishcake and rice ball person. The ambiance is relaxing and suitable for chit chatting or business executive discussion. Perfect place during winter.

Sanrokuen 山麓園 is an excellent place for a traditional, authentic Japanese robatayaki. The restaurant is in an over a hundred-year-old building. I am happy to have an enjoyable experience with all my family and friends in our Mt. Fuji trip. The restaurant is fantastic, and the ingredients they use are very fresh and of the highest quality. They also offer the best service. However, please don’t forget to make a reservation. Sanrokuen is usually booked weeks in advance.

It’s an unique experience though on a higher end side. We ordered the 22k yen premium set for 1 which was enough for 2. It will be better if there are more instructions and guidance given to grilling the food as I was stupidly watching my neighbours how to cook certain dishes

This place takes you back to medieval Japan vibes when you sit around a bonfire and grill, warm, cook your food. Say no more. I recommend if you come to Fuji, find this place. You really need to come and try it.

Amazing BBQ experience plus a nice bowl of hoto. It was such an experience to bbq the food yourself. Will come again. Do note that there is a waiting time during peak times so do plan ahead.

What a nice surprise. This was the highlight of the tour to mt. Fuji (too much clouds) highly recommend. Very little English, but they were very animating

10/10 for service, food and atmosphere. They were very friendly and explained the basics of robatayaki. It was super-tasty and the historic building is very charming.

Tried 2 set meals both are delicious, especially the way the yamame and pond smelt are fried. Seems to be constantly crowded but no big issue waiting inside after filling names in a list. Nice interior decor and spacious dining environment. Good overall dining experience with a moderately extensive menu.

They have an English menu, great choices, delicious tempura meal, huge and very filling and many Hutu noodle dishes on offer. Very reasonably priced. But not ideal for group tours and big group because they don't have a reservation .

Our favorite place to eat in Kawaguchiko, with great meals and very friendly service. Menu is available in many languages. Hoto (flat noodles) soup warmed up the cold day. Definitely will be back. Seats are available in traditional and modern style.

This place is just awesome and full of music. Live music events during the day in different halls. I really don’t know how to describe the place , it’s a big museum and shop together all around music. All in one it worth paying the entrance fee - 1500 Yen / pers. At the entrance you’ll receive a leaflet with the music events ( hour and hall ) and I warmly recommend to see them. We saw that there is also a restaurant on site. Didn’t enter so we cannot say hoe it is. If you are in the area and you are a music lover and love to see musical instruments we highly recommend this place. By the way there are o lot of shops with wonderful stuff. We spent there approx 2,5 hours. If you are coming by car there is a huge parking place just across the street , just in front of the museum on the other side of the road. Enjoyyyyyy !!!!

This is a very beautiful music forest. Not only can you takes many pretty inside, but can also enjoy their amazing music performance. I recommend you take at least two hours here to find its beauty. By the way, their souvenirs are also very special!

We saw the Moving Kamishibai Sand art storytelling artists backed by live musicians. It was spectacular and very moving. Highly recommended! Wish we had more time to discover the rest of the performances...

A must visit for those who likes old pianos and musical instruments--this place has a massive collection. We were able to catch one "Opera" performance and the Opera Singer was really good! You can tour around the place for about an hour, it's quite small. I liked that they have a shop of Studio Ghibli merch! But if you prefer to be with nature, or not really a fan or old organs and recorders, you can skip this.

A very good music museum with many performances to enjoy. In Japan, you can enjoy the scenery of distant European towns and the wonders of Mount Fuji. The ice cream here is also delicious. It is highly recommended to come here.

Visited on a rainy day thinking it would be a good wet weather activity but the museum is mostly not sheltered, except the performance halls. Nonetheless, they provided umbrellas that made exploring the museum much more enjoyable despite the weather. I only managed to catch two performances—the opera and organ— and thoroughly enjoyed both. I definitely regret not arriving earlier to experience more of them. The gift shop also has many interesting souvenirs, especially music boxes for a variety of music pieces, from classical to pop or even studio ghibli tunes. I would really suggest setting some time aside to browse even if you don't intend to buy anything. Lastly, the museum was pretty with flowers and photo spots, and I even managed to catch a glimpse of mt fuji despite the bad weather. Would definitely come back again next time!

Beautiful kimonos and interesting architecture. Great view of mt Fuji from their cafe. Takes about an hour to look around. The museum is quite small but very tranquil so you can sit relax and take in the view.

A very nice art museum of the artist and kimono designer Kubota Itchiku. The art works extend to the buildings and surrounding ground. The Kimono exhibition is the main part of the museum but be sure the walk the outside path for tranquility

The museum is dedicated to the work of Itchiku Kubota, the artist who revived the lost tsujigahana dyeing technique and elevated it to the level of fine art. The current exhibition, “With the Sunset in Siberia,” features 26 kimono inspired by nature and the passage of time. Among them, “Burning Sun” (1986) stands out as one of Kubota’s most personal works, created in memory of his time as a war prisoner in Siberia — a piece that symbolizes endurance and hope in the face of hardship. The exhibition is displayed in a single, spacious hall housed within a pyramid-shaped building. A small garden with moss, stones, and a water feature surrounds the structure, and a tearoom adjacent to it serves matcha and traditional Japanese sweets. A quiet, reflective place — ideal for slowing down and appreciating the harmony of color, light, and emotion.

Such a beautiful hidden gem. We came here on Golden Week and there were people but not giant crowds like in other places. They have a cafe a little pricy for small portions, but i guess you’re really paying for the nice view and ambience. Nice place to walk around and relax away from all the crowds.

This was a incredible experience! The building and gardens were amazing to explore and the exhibit was beautiful. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Photography is not allowed inside the exhibit area, but is permitted in the gardens. Also it is closed on Tuesdays so just keep that in mind when planning your visit.

Sorry, but I think it’s a waste of money to come here since it’s a bit pricy for what I get. (unless you like kimonos🙂) They have more souvenirs shops than art pieces. And you can’t take photos when see the arts and kimonos. They also have 2 sort of cafe inside. The backyard wasn’t special to me, Because it was spring? 🤔 I see similar yard in many shrine and it’s free. (I still give offering tho 🙏🏻)

Beautiful place. I think this is a must visit if you're around the Fujikawaguchiko area during Autumn. Also Itchiku Kubota's works are a masterpiece.

Great place to explore your inner ninja! Good show, good place to chill and visit and learn something about the way of the ninja. As for the food, unfortunately, there is no halal food option or a very limited seafood option. But overall experience was good and recommended for "Must Visit".

We had such an amazing lunch at Shinibi No Sato. The food was great and the atmosphere even better! The garden is beautiful with fantastic viewss of Mount Fuji. The staff and ninjas are wonderful and so entertaining. Highly recommend a visit here.

The Ninja Village is nice especially for kids and the staff was brilliant (I saw some families with children and they were having a blast). We were here for lunch as part of an excursion and the food was good, with vegetables available (so, healthy choices possible!). I only think there should be more food for these excursions as there simply wasn’t enough for everyone. Beautiful scenery and views of Mount Fuji!

Fun outing with the kids. When i came here pre Covid, there’s seafood set lunch. Now these’s none, so as muslim we have very very limited choice of food here (not recommended). There’s also an entrance fee of JPY1,800 per adult to enter this place (i deducted a star due to this). The place is clean and beautiful, with a garden overlooking mt fuji. Love that the place is not crowded even during golden week. All the ninjas (staff) were friendly and accomodative when you ask for pictures/ they even volunteer to take your picture.

Such a tourist trap. We stopped here for lunch during a Mount Fuji day trip. The buffet service was poor, with limited options and quantities. By the time I reached the buffet table, even the rice was almost gone. Despite there being two buffet tables, each group was only allowed to use one, which was badly organised. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Also, the toilets didn’t even have soap to wash your hands. The restaurant view was beautiful though.

Ate as part of a bus tour. It was buffet style. The food was mediocre and mostly cold (room temp). The "ninja village" aspect was pretty mediocre too. It looked like there was supposed to be some sort of activities or something in the garden area, but all looked disused and we're empty when we visited.

Place is nice n clean.. There is a souvenir shop on ground floor.. The ticket counter is 2nd floor.. Place gets filled up quickly as well... U get to see the view of Mt Fuji but unfortunately for us, it was very cloudy and we did not get to see... Was a good experience though...

Reflecting on our trip to Japan and this was one of the unexpected moments that sticks in my mind. The tour is mercifully short so you’re not stuck on a bus for hours on end, instead it’s brief and straight to the point which is perfect for a packed schedule. In fairness though the experience was absolutely made by our tour guide who had a great sense of humour and whilst giving the guided tour in Japanese held up translated laminates so we were engaged too. The fun bit though was that we had read through the slide quickly whilst she was explaining in Japanese and reacting to the jokes, the moments of eye contact as she tried not to laugh as we did were brilliant and for that alone it was worth going. The bus station was immaculately clean, and the bus itself was comfortable and never felt unsafe even as we barrelled into the beautiful lake. Fuji-san hid from us behind clouds but the trip was no less enjoyable.

The Kaba Bus at Yamanakako is so different from what I have ridden in the United States and other countries. I have tried similar buses in many places. It is not as fun as this one in Japan. They make it a complete experience, starting with the video at the beginning and including more fun activities to do while we are on the bus. This is the best water bus experience I have had.

We could enjoy a beautiful scenery with Mt. Fuji. From the beginning of the tour until end , there was only Japanese explanation. There were only 2-3 Japanese customers ( included me ) . I hope they provide the video with English subtitles and multilingual ear phone guide like precious time.

My trip here was a matter of luck. The website stated that if there were seats available on the KABA Hippo Bus, you could board it that day. When I arrived, the screen still said "reservation is in progress," with seven seats still available. According to the website, I could purchase tickets and board when seats became available. I thought, "I'll have some fun and seek for luck." I approached the staff with a calm and hopeful attitude, but unfortunately, their attitude was inappropriate, rude, and discriminatory. They refused to sell me a ticket because I was a foreigner! Not only did the staff fail to provide accurate information responsibly, but a local tour guide also took eight tickets for the group without any verification or even handing in any name. This was a completely unfair and discriminatory attitude. The staff are also very impatient explained that it was group ticketing time, not individual ticketing time! First, let's understand that if the screen hadn't indicated seats were available, I wouldn't have inquired. How could I have had such an unpleasant experience? Furthermore, if there truly were no seats available, I understand, but I'm also being treated rudely and disrespectfully. This kind of treatment from someone I've never met is truly disgusting. I came to Japan to enjoy tourism and local culture, and I have the impression that Japanese people are courteous and hospitable. Please don't think the "KABA Hippo Bus" is worth the money simply because it's an amphibious vehicle! However, this experience has led me to strongly discourage visiting this area, specifically because the window attendants were incredibly unfriendly. Before leaving this review, I read other reviews, and they all mentioned similar disrespectful treatment from window attendants and even bus staff. It's consistent with foreigners being treated disrespectfully, and this has been happening for a while now. I hope travelers will reconsider and that the company will be aware of such poor staff practices.

This is a place to ride the Kaba Bus, which is about a 15-20 minutes ride through Lake Yamanaka. This is a great place to enjoy the view of the lake & Mount Fuji while learning & exploring about the site & the animals in it. It was a totally different experience!

Although it was all in japanese, the view & the experienced was fun! The staff were very friendly and energetic. Great adventure!

Ate dinner here after Gotemba Premium Outlet. They dont have english menu and attendants speaks little enhlish but thanks to the translate app we were able to order Seafood tomato cream and beef curry. It taste alright nothing spectacular.

We came as a family to eat for dinner and every seat was separated by thick plastic. We explained that as a family group we didn't need to be separated but they refused to remove them. We couldn't even hear each other speak. Other restaurants do not go to such extremes to separate family members. Thoroughly unsatisfactory experience.

Great coffee shop with relaxed French style and decor. Very relaxed antique atmosphere. Great choice of cakes and drinks. Don’t miss it !! Look out for the old American car at the front and the Harley Davidson motorcycles.

This place has been such a highlight so far into my trip that I had to review it the same day I went here. Had the Iced Latte (Irish Cream) & Iced Latte (White Chocolate & Strawberry) TWICE in under 6 hours. I loved it that much. Had the rasberry cheese cake which was equally good. Everything about this place is top tier - the staff, the environment, the music. Just amazing!

There are varieties of cakes to choose and look delicious. We order 3 types of cakes and drip cofffee. The banana custard pie, chocolate pie was great. Their drip coffee also not bad. The place was cosy.

The best part about this cafe is definitely the atmosphere. Jazz music playing with cozy interior decorations. The strawberry was fresh, and the cake itself wasn’t too sweet, which was good.

You get a very warm feeling being in this cafe. The strawberry white chocolate iced latte was my favourite, I wish they opened earlier to have it the 3rd time before leaving 😇

Awesome cafe! Cookie Cream Cheesecake was the best cheesecake ever;) It was soft but not too soft and had very creamy rich flavor yet not too heavy. Coffee was also good and they have a variety of coffee and tea. Plus, they have cute accessories, clothes, kitchen items...etc. The only thing that I want to ask them is the coffee cup. They use paper cups only even for there, not taking away. Since they sell cute coffee cups, I'd love to have coffee with them!

This cafe is extremely cute. Unfortunately it doesn't have a view of Fuji due to another mountain being in the way. I had a hot latte and the cookies & cream cheesecake. The presentation of the cheesecake could've been a bit better, but the taste was excellent; very creamy & delicious, beyond what I had expected. Coffee was decent quality too.

The food was excellent—fresh and flavorful. However, the service felt rushed due to a surge of customers, which made the experience a bit hectic. I'd still recommend it for the quality of the food and hope for a calmer visit next time! Also, make sure to have cash available as it’s the only accepted mode of payment.

Authentic atmosphere with authentic noodle cuisine. I chose the hot noodles with green onions and enjoyed every bite. The tea was tasty as well. Clean restrooms. English menus are available per request.

A traditional seating restaurant which serves both cold and hot udon and soba. The tempura udon was particularly nice :) Since they only accept cash, we had to retrieve our money from the car, and they were very kind to let us wait. They even served another cup of tea whilst we were waiting. Since its a short walk from the ponds, definitely a good lunch spot!

If you visit Oshino as part of your Mt Fuji tour and stop here to have lunch in the city, this is a great place to eat authentic and delicious soba noodles. We choose to go off the tourist beaten track as nothing in the tourist area looked nice. The food was extremely commercialised and made for tourists, which, of course, may not taste anything Japanese. So, if you’re a traveller who likes exploring more authentic places to eat, this is a place I cannot recommend enough. We were the only two foreigners in the restaurant. The food was amazing!
