The Golden Gate Bridge, an iconic 4,200-foot art deco suspension marvel, stands as a testament to engineering and beauty. Opened in 1937, it connects San Francisco to Marin County and has since transformed the area into a haven for nature lovers. Visitors can explore the stunning landscapes that surround this landmark, including redwood forests and serene bay views. The bridge accommodates cars, bikes, and pedestrians alike, making it accessible for everyone eager to experience its grandeur.
Visiting the Golden Gate Bridge is an unforgettable experience. Standing on or near this iconic landmark, you feel the scale and beauty of San Francisco in a way that photos just can’t capture. The view of the city skyline framed by the bridge’s signature orange towers is breathtaking, especially on a clear day. Walking or biking across gives a sense of accomplishment and offers unique perspectives of the bay, the Marin Headlands, and Alcatraz. Even just admiring it from nearby lookout points provides incredible photo opportunities. The atmosphere is lively with tourists from all over the world, yet the sheer grandeur of the bridge gives it a sense of serenity and awe. Whether you’re here for sightseeing, photography, or just to feel the iconic vibes of SF, the Golden Gate Bridge is a must-visit landmark that truly embodies the spirit of the city.

The Golden Gate Bridge is simply Spectacular! I recommend visiting the visitors center at the south entrance. Here you can learn about the history of the bridge. Absolutely astonishing how these engineers and steel workers survived brutal cold elements to construct this bridge! Visit Fort Point National Historic Site at the base of the bridge for more Historic facts. Take the 1 hour bay cruise and the boat travels underneath the bridge for an unbelievable experience! I recommend driving to the north side of the bridge through the Marin Headlands and visit Golden Gate Bridge overlook it is a breathtaking view of the bridge and you can look into the city of San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Bridge is absolutely stunning and one of the most iconic sights in the world. The bright red color, the ocean breeze, and the sweeping views of San Francisco Bay make it unforgettable. Walking or biking across is an amazing experience you can see the city skyline, Alcatraz, and the Marin Headlands all in one view. Whether it’s covered in fog or glowing at sunset, it’s always breathtaking. A true masterpiece of design and a must-see when visiting San Francisco!

The Golden Gate Bridge was fantastic! Went during the week, not crowded. Was able to cruise across at our leisure and not worry about someone on our ass. Fisherman's Wharf was quiet, no lines. Food is always great in the area. And I'm talking about seafood. Everything is slowed down during the week. We really enjoyed our time there. Hotels were plentiful and cheaper. Looking forward to another visit.
Matt M — Google review
I'm not sure how you even review a bridge, but since I have never driven across the Golden Gate before now, I will say this: it is iconic for a reason. Gorgeous construction, incredible views...and frighteningly, unbelievably narrow lanes for its whole length. Seriously.

Okay, if you have not crossed this legendary Landmark whether by car, bike or walking, you are missing out! Wife and I walked it thinking it was going to be a bit windy and chilly! Quite the opposite, the weather was perfect! I mean perfect! We both wrapped our jackets around our waist and began our walk. Stopped along the way and took pics! Got to the other side and rested for about 20 min. Vendors were at the rest area providing grilled hot dogs and mango/watermelon slices with tajin sprinkled all about. We walked back over and on to Crissy Field. Each way is about 1.7 mile walk. Will definitely do that again!
Zul-Tan I — Google review
There’s a reason it’s known the world over. Endlessly fascinating and captivating, you gasp in awe every time you see it. It’s even more fun to walk, bike, or drive across. I visited several times on my recent visit and still love it. Can’t be missed!
Cliffb1930 — Google review
A childhood dream come true! Visiting the Golden Gate Bridge was a truly special moment for me — something I’ve dreamed of since I was a child. It always reminded me of the TV series Charmed, and seeing it in person felt surreal. The engineering is absolutely incredible, and it’s such a beautiful bridge to walk across — or even to explore by bike if you prefer. A must-see landmark that perfectly combines beauty, history, and innovation.

If you're looking for a taste of the tropics without leaving Northern California, Lappert's Ice Cream is your go-to destination. This charming outpost of a beloved Hawaiian chain immerses you in an island vibe with its vibrant floral decor and leafy accents. The menu boasts an impressive array of 125 flavors, including must-try options like Kauai Pie—a delightful blend of coffee ice cream, chocolate fudge, and coconut macadamia nuts—and the indulgent Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel.
Great ice cream and sorbet flavors. It really tastes great. Usually busy but I find that after 7pm the crowd usually dies down. If you are in the area this is a must have Flavors occasionally rotate, so if they don’t have your flavor you might have to check another day. I wish they had Mango Sorbet in stock more often
Pika F — Google review
Honestly some of the best ice cream I've had in the bay. Tons of variety in the flavors, great texture in the ice cream, and a super nice location. Only reason this is not 5 stars is because they only allow tasting of 2 flavors and it's $7 for a single scoop. I know Sausalito is a more expensive area but that's still just absurd. With that being said though, the ice cream is fire. Worth trying out if you're ever in the area.
Sid S — Google review
It’s a lovely icecreams parlour. Nice ambience and good variety of tasty icecreams. They have handcrafted, "super-premium" ice cream made with high-quality ingredients. We tried the Hawaiian Sea Salt Caramel: Hawaii pink salted caramel fudge in sweet cream and Praline Pecan: Southwestern-style pecans in a caramel cream. These were good. Nice sorbets too. Seating is nice. Closes around 8.30 pm

As a child my mom and I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge to the ice cream. I was able to 40 years later take my children and husband to the Ice Cream Polar. We took pictures of the city and loved the ice cream just as I did when I was their age. Thank you for the great experience.
Teeana H — Google review
Had the Kauai Pie ice cream and it’s one of the best ice cream we ever had … the flavors of the ingredients just work so well: coffee, Macadamia nuts, coconut shreds, and others. Also it’s not too sweet therefore able to enjoy the flavors. Well done! Very impressive~

Green tea ice cream in waffle cone did the trick for me on a hot day. Cool down on a bench by the water and grass, with a book maybe. I found a nice spot by the ferry docks. I was happy with my free waffle cone for having completed Sausalito Public Library’s adult summer reading challenge- you can do it too! It’s awesome when you can read and get additional rewards. You get 2 free samples per person before having to select your flavor. I sampled the ube macapuno and was unimpressed- it didn’t taste much like ube, maybe more like coconut. I also sampled the date casablanca, which is vanilla ice cream studded with date bits and laced with caramel trails. I think if the date flavor was more incorporated in the whole ice cream, I could’ve gone for it. I’m glad I went with green tea and would recommend this flavor. It’s not the strongest green tea ice cream I’ve had but it was enough and I wasn’t looking for too strong today anyway.

Worth the wait, but the waiter isn't long! The line was out the door this afternoon, but it moved swiftly. I had the Bing cherry cordial. Sorry, no photo. I began eating right away. Delicious!

Stopped in today before our departure to Chicago. Hands down, best ice cream we've ever had. I had the horchata cajeta flavor and my husband the guava cheesecake flavor. Flavors were amazing and very unique. Can't wait to try again on our next visit to California!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a great spot in Sausalito! I had a wonderful experience at Sausalito Bakery & Cafe. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The pastries were fresh and delicious, and the sandwiches and small bites were just as impressive — really good quality and full of flavor. Everything tasted homemade and carefully prepared. Plus, the view is absolutely beautiful — a perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. Highly recommended!

Nice cafe on the waterfront where you can just sit and watch the world go by. We ordered the cookies and I will be honest they are more like rock cakes than cookies. The lemon and blueberry one is most like a biscuit/cookie and was delicious. Best cup of tea I had in San Francisco area so highly recommended 👌

Beautiful bakery and cafe with a beautiful view of the water front and the Golden Gate Bridge. The staff were warm and welcoming. Food - The pastries were fresh and delicious, and the sandwiches were great. They have a large assortment of salads, sandwiches. They have fresh home made pastries. Chocolate chip cookie was good too. You can sit outside or inside. Nice breakfast available. Closes at 5 pm

What a perfect way to end my Golden Gate Bridge walk! After hoofing it all the way from San Francisco, I was starving and this little gem in Sausalito was exactly what I needed. The green storefront caught my eye right away - it’s got that classic small-town charm that makes Sausalito so special. I ordered their omelet with bacon and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were fluffy and cooked perfectly, the bacon was crispy, and they gave me some great multigrain toast on the side. The fresh fruit was a nice touch too. Everything looked freshly baked and you could smell it the moment you walked in. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy - perfect for refueling after a long walk. Plus, you can’t beat the location right in downtown Sausalito.

The vibes here are quite amazing. Amazing decor inside and the ability to sit outside. The food is a little pricey and nothing extravagant for what you are paying. The staff is really nice as well.

It’s a lovely café and bakery, run by a kind Iranian couple who pour their hearts into everything they do. The place feels like home — every meal tastes like something your grandmother would make, full of love and care. Their food is incredibly healthy and comforting, and the couple themselves are some of the sweetest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet.

Museums
The Bay Area Discovery Museum is an indoor/outdoor museum designed to encourage children's creativity through interactive exhibits, art classes, and a play space. The museum offers sections for both older kids and babies, with nature and STEM-based structures and exhibits that are well thought out. Parents appreciated the clean environment of the tot section where they could leave their babies to explore. In addition to all the fun activities for kids, visitors can also enjoy a gorgeous view of Golden Gate right next to the museum.
Took my 4-year-old here today and wow, what a gem! This place is absolutely perfect for little ones. My daughter was completely captivated from the moment we walked in - there’s just so much to explore and discover. The hands-on exhibits are fantastic and really encourage creativity and learning through play. We spent hours here and she didn’t want to leave! The staff was friendly and helpful, and I love that it’s designed specifically with young children in mind. Plus, the Sausalito location is beautiful. Definitely worth the trip from anywhere in the Bay Area. We’ll be back soon!

Wonderful mostly outdoor active experience for kids. Appropriately for ages 3-8 probably. Very child-led. Explore a fishing boat, build a structure with giant pieces of foam, climb up into the treetops and walk a rope bridge before sliding down a huge slide. Lunch and snacks were surprisingly higher quality. The entire park was in good repair and clean. Workers were plentiful and engaged. Bathrooms were built with kids and parents in mind, clean. We explored with two 3.5 year olds and they were ecstatic from start to finish, and we didn’t even see the whole place before we left exhausted.

Beautiful views of Golden Gate Bridge. Creative playground suitable for all ages. Very nice areas for imaginative play and building stuff. Cute cafe with kid-friendly food, though the long was long and they were kind of slow. Nice to go to take the kids to play and catch up with a friend over coffee while enjoying the amazing views.

Toddler and bigger kid friendly. They have different areas that are 42" and under and safe for smaller visitors. Went on a holiday weekend and it was soo packed but its such a big area and so many sections that we could easily avoid crowds. 100% recommend ordering food online and just picking up at the window.

Great Museum it's advertised as 0 to 8 but i brings kids over 8 and they love playing in the outdoor spaces. Including the sandbox. Unfortunately I only been here on like one nice day. The weather it always cold but they can't control that. I suggest bundling up but it is spaces to play inside

Located in the picturesque Fort Baker with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the museum prioritizes hands-on learning, encouraging creative problem-solving through activities like the "Woodshop" and art studios where kids can freely experiment with various materials. It curates exhibits that cater to developing minds. The blend of interactive play, art are all presented in a fun and accessible way.

Wow! What an AWESOME place. We will definitely come here again from a stock car racing setup to a wood carving workstation to an awesome, huge jungle gym with a big slide and all the while the bubble machines going, this place was so fun we were here for like 4 hours. They have a little “shipwreck” a cave and a nice little “hike” with a great view. You can’t beat the view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We even had a little visitor. They also have food onsite the food was good real fresh food no preservative type stuff not sure if it was organic we had coffee, mochas, grilled cheese, a really breakfast sandwich and s’mores crisps type things. You gotta go.

Sept 2025 long weekend ( Sat) Get here early ~ 1030 am to maximize time Plenty of kids activities, from obstacle courses for the young kids, to toddler activities The Paint splash room is a brilliant idea ! Cafe onsite has reasonably good food and drink options Family friendly and you can spend all day here - 430 pm is a hard stop museum close time - I wish they had extended times in summer/fall

Fort Baker, a former U.S. Army post, is nestled beneath the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and offers stunning views of the San Francisco Bay. Originally part of the fortifications protecting the Golden Gate, it now forms part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Visitors can explore historic buildings and scenic trails while enjoying panoramic vistas of San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, and the famous bridge.
Beautiful place, plenty of parking to access the hiking trails and gun emplacements. Views of the bridge and city as well as Angel island and Alcatraz. There is a large discovery museum and play area for kids, looked like fun from the outside. I think it is a pay to play area. Fishing and crabbing off the pier as well.

This place is so cute! Stopped here to get a better view of the bridge, luckily we went and it was sunny and no fog! It's a very chill place, great to walk around. Secluded and private, there is a "discovery center" nearby. Parking in this general area is free and lots of parking, did not see a bathroom though. I reccomend this as a quick stop to take pictures.

Stunning scenery. It takes roughly 4 and a half hours to hike to the base of Half Dome. Make sure to bring a water filter so you can refill at the river. You'll definitely need plenty of water. Plus, to make it to the top of Half Dome, you should start your hike before 7 AM. If you are planning to climb to the top of half dome, you'll need to get tickets.

This is a very good area for photographing the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, and the Bay. The views on a clear day are incredible! It is easy to spend some time here walking around and exploring nearby attractions – The Bay Area Discovery Museum for chidlren, Battery Yates, and Fort Baker. Parking is plentiful: some at the pier, and there is a huge parking area next to the Discovery Museum. Quite a few people were fishing and crabbing when we visited. Another good fact – this area is not crowded as many other GG/SF vista points. If you will walk an appetite during your visit there is Bean sprout café next the Discovery Museum where you can get juice, coffee, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, ice cream, etc. And for amore elevated experience you may choose Sula, just check their hours.

Battery Spencer is a 19th-century concrete battery with stunning panoramic views of Golden Gate and San Francisco. The observation deck provides the best spot to view the iconic golden bridge, even on cloudy days. Access to this location is easy by means of driving or biking, followed by a short walk to the top. As it sits almost 500 feet above the bay, it was once an ideal location for large coastal defense guns during its time under army control.
What a great spot to see the Golden Gate Bridge! We parked a bit up the road and enjoyed a lovely walk toward it. There's something magical about approaching the bridge and seeing its first tower appear. The nearby battery, a former defence station decommissioned in 1943, adds an interesting historical touch with its concrete ruins. For a beautiful, postcard-worthy view of the bridge, I highly recommend making the trip!

Good place to be at for a sunrise - very nice view of the bridge, alcatraz prison. Rest rooms were not open. Break and steal warnings - beware. Fun fact: This is where some scenes of Tamil movie Vaaranam Aayiram were shot.

One of the best views of the Golden Gate bridge. We went on a very foggy day which added to the mystic. Glad we dressed appropriately as the wind was racing across the headland. Managed to get a parking space just next to the trail by the battery. When we arrived there were a few spaces, but by the time we left cars were parking along the side of the road.
Steven B — Google review
You can drive or take 130 to get there, quite convenient. The place is another different amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s best to go on a sunny afternoon when the light and angle are perfect for photos. pedestrians can only walk on the east side of the bridge, and there are lots of cyclists. There’s also a wall covered with locks of love.

We love coming here as a family ! Definitely come when there is a lot of traffic so you feel safe leaving your stuff in the car to many times people come back and their car has been stolen or things inside of it! But the walk is not that far definitely bring a sweater it’s very windy and a little cold. Also before you come up use the bathroom because the bathrooms up here are disgusting . But if you are coming for the first time definitely come to take some nice family pictures! We loved it and enjoyed the view of the bridge 🌁! Memories that will last a lifetime ❤️
Rita O — Google review
Battery Spencer is hands down one of the best spots to experience the Golden Gate Bridge in all its glory. The view from up here is absolutely stunning — you get the perfect panoramic shot of the bridge, San Francisco skyline, and the bay, all in one frame. Whether it’s sunrise, sunset, or even a foggy morning, the scenery never disappoints. The short hike from the parking area is easy and totally worth it. Once you reach the viewpoint, the wind can get pretty strong, so bring a jacket! It’s also a great place for photography — the lighting changes quickly, and every minute offers a slightly different mood. At night, the bridge lights up beautifully, and you can see the city glowing across the bay. Parking is limited, so it’s best to visit early in the morning or later in the evening. Even if there are crowds, it never feels too chaotic, and you’ll always find a good spot to take in the view. Overall, Battery Spencer gives you that postcard-perfect Golden Gate experience — dramatic cliffs, sweeping ocean views, and one of the most iconic landmarks in the world right in front of you. Definitely a must-visit when in the Bay Area!
Ajaz — Google review
Some of the best views of the Golden Gate and the Golden Gate Bridge in all of the Bay Area. Can be very windy and foggy, so be sure to dress accordingly, but regardless you will be rewarded. It's just a short walk from the parking lot. Can be very busy on weekends, but no worries, there are epic views in every direction.

Golden Gate View Point near Battery Spencer offers one of the most iconic views of the Golden Gate Bridge. I visited with my family, and although the scenery was stunning, it was extremely windy and cold—even during daylight. Make sure to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. This viewpoint is located in a historic area that once served as a military site, with remnants of old fortifications still visible. It’s not just a great photo spot, but also a place where you can reflect on the area’s military history. Parking is limited, so plan ahead if you’re driving. A must-see when in San Francisco!

The person working there was so friendly and gave a lot of gelato for us to taste before buying. The strawberry is so good! The green tea one has a mint flavor overpowering the green tea flavor so I didn’t enjoy it as much. The price was very reasonable

After a mediocre lunch and biking across the bridge I saw this place and decided I deserved a treat. I picked out three truffles (about $6.75) and enjoyed them on the Ferry back to San Francisco. I chose cardamom nougat, cookie Butter and Buddha. Cardamom was nice, but cookie Butter was better because COOKIE BUTTER. How could it not be? However, Buddha was definitely the most uniquely delicious. It was filled with peanut butter and mango jam. Salty and sweet always get me! The shop is quite small and feels tight even with only one other customer. But the quality is great and service is friendly!

Real artisan chocolates here. I tried a few dark chocolates, and they were absolutely delicious. I tried their coffee, and it was also not bad. Their cookies are also great. Raisin Oatmeal cookie was definitely the best thing.

They usually have SUCH a good curation of chocolates so it pains me to write this review. DO NOT buy the Dubai Chocolate!!! I spent 40$ (that should have been my first red flag) but since they have good quality fine chocolates I had high expectations it would be really good. “Luxury” as its marketed. It was DISGUSTING, the worst quality chocolate, stale, and overall spit-worthy after the first bite. I’m sooooo upset at this waste of money. I truly expected them to vet their products and for it to be at least OKAY for 40 bucks. Ive had many versions of the dubai chocolate and this is by far the worst AND most expensive!!! 7/11 has a better one. The mini dubai bonbons from another brand were better , but for $20 is a hard swallow. So disappointed.

It also boasts an expansive wine and cocktail list curated by a renowned consultant.
The restaurant is classy but the view is the main attraction. There is also an outdoor deck, but it can be cool/windy or foggy depending on the day or time. There are heaters outside and they do also have blankets I believe. The food presentation is beautiful. Everything tastes good, but I’ve been several times now and a couple of times, I’ve felt like the food was good, but could use a little more seasoning. I definitely recommend the truffle fries. I’m not a fan of truffle oil, but they are bomb. Scallops and salmon are Great as well. The menu does change slightly seasonally.

We rented Nikita’s waterside venue in Sausalito for an event and it was perfect! The space is beautiful by the water, the music system worked great, and we could bring our own food which made things easy. Having the bar setup was a highlight—Max, the bartender, was amazing and kept everyone happy. Everything went smoothly and our guests loved the place. Highly recommend!

We had such a good experience renting this venue for 3 days for a 30 person leadership retreat for our company to do our 6 month planning and board meeting prep. The food was amazing super fresh, the Eria team so so friendly, cocktails at dinner amazing! I want to just go here on a date now. We were able to make the menu work too for all the allergy restrictions and it was totally delicious. Views totally beautiful. We even used them to cater a dinner at a vacation rental as well! Huge thanks Matt, Andrés, Alejandro, and of course Nikita. We’re already gearing up to plan the next one and will absolutely use them again!

Everything was perfect. Very flavorful but not too salty, oily or too sweet. Tastes elegant. My favorite was duck tacos. Tea was excellent, the superb tea reminded me of home. They used good cream for the lobster Mac and cheese and tiramisu. Burger was juicy. Fries were crispy. Soup was not filled with potatoes so a bit soupy and is lighter, has some lemon zest on top so is more refreshing. Service and view were excellent. Will be back.

Nice location with spectacular views. Would be a good event space. It didn't seem like a regular restaurant. I attended an event here, for which they had a limited brunch menu. I ordered the avocado toast, which was the worst avocado toast I've ever had - hard, tasteless, small, and way overpriced. There was minimal, tired furniture and the bathrooms had no paper towels or hand dryer. If the issues mentioned above could be corrected, this would be a lovely event space.

Great spot to catch stunning views of SF, Angel Island, Alcatraz, the sailboats, etc. Higher end than the restaurant directly below it (Trident). The drinks were great (we did some sparkling from Spain, almost tasted like a cava). I had the shrimp cocktail and the lobster roll - both were ok, not amazing but also not bad. My spouse had oysters with our friend and also had the lobster roll. The oysters were apparently very good as was the mignonette. Our friend had the oysters and then the burger. The burger was large / good portion and pretty tasty. Overall the service was very friendly but incredibly slow. Would highly recommend this place over the others along the water in Sausalito. It’s not winning a Michelin star but it’s solid, friendly, nicely designed, and decent food with incredible views. ❤️

Well presented dishes and excellent service. Dining room view is one of the best. The sirloin could compare to Kobei (yes, lived in Japan), I appreciated the light searing. Rest of our party seemed happy as well.

We went to this place for a special event in January 2023, and boy- what a tremendous treat it was! We were served an all Vegan menu (see photos) and everything was just very tasty and delightful. Furthermore, the drink pairings were spot on. The service was impeccable, and the staff very friendly. And what a view! You can't beat Ditas for quality, location, and service. Strongly recommended for your personal or business gathering!

Farley is a sophisticated spot located at Cavallo Point lodge, offering Californian small plates and seasonal cocktails. The restaurant features a large porch where guests can enjoy the perfect weather while celebrating special occasions. The recent renovations have added to the charm of the place, with artsy beverage menus and superb cocktails. Despite being a hidden gem due to its location, it's worth the drive for those looking to escape the city. The menu is fun and creative, and the service is refined and polished.
Our business meeting at Farley with my partner and husband was perfect! As an interior designer at TERAPOLIS I appreciate stylish atmosphere and great furniture selection. I am glad that one can drive to Marin 15 min from SF and feel like visiting a different country. Great experience! Thank you!

We stayed at the Cavallo Point lodge at the end of April and dined at Farley. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and we were seated at a lovely table. My kids were given a separate kids menu and enjoyed broccolini and macaroni and cheese. My husband and I enjoyed some amazing cocktails with the umami fries, crispy fried calamari and the ahi tuna poke. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The tuna could have been lighter in terms of the dressing because it covered too much of the tuna’s natural flavor but it was still enjoyable to eat. The service was great and the staff was attentive to our needs and any questions we had. The grounds and view around the hotel were also beautiful. We would gladly return in the future.

We live in San Francisco, but this was our first time dining here. Since our son loves the Golden Gate Bridge, we took him to visit today, and my husband found this restaurant online. The setting is absolutely beautiful—very peaceful, with outdoor seating that offers a stunning view of the bridge. The food was excellent. We had the Caesar salad, which was crisp and refreshing with very fresh vegetables. For our son, we ordered the truffle-seasoned fries, which were unique and flavorful. My personal favorite was the mac n cheese topped with pork belly—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired perfectly with the rich, cheesy pasta. The steak was also very good. Overall, everything was wonderful: the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait to try their brunch next time!

Very average food Extra charges They messed up our order a few times and didn’t comp anything to make it up. The slowest service and average food . The desserts are expensive and very very small pieces of cake.

Farley and Sula - Elegant Dining with a View at Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito I have dined at Farley and Sula about five times since last November for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, both for work and leisure. While the food is consistently good, it does feel slightly overpriced for the location and limited competition within walking distance of the lodge. What sets this destination apart is the ambiance and flexibility. Guests can dine on either side of the two restaurants or enjoy a meal outdoors under heat lamps with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, the city skyline, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Farley offers a sophisticated gastropub-style setting with a casual yet elevated menu, while Sula provides a more relaxed lounge experience. I love that both restaurants share menus, allowing guests to sample dishes from each while seated anywhere on the property. The service is consistently warm and professional, adding to the comfort of the experience. However, I do not agree with the 4% kitchen staff surcharge applied to food items. In my opinion, compensating staff properly should be the restaurant's responsibility, not an additional cost for guests. Must-Try Dishes at Farley and Sula Classic Benedict ($28) - 4.5/5 Served with Canadian bacon, tomato, hollandaise, and breakfast potatoes. This dish was flavorful, satisfying, and perfect for a working breakfast. The sauce made it a bit tricky to eat neatly, but it was still delicious. Blue Crab Cake ($26) - 4.9/5 Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this crab cake was beautifully presented and paired perfectly with dill remoulade and pickled mushrooms. A must-order for seafood lovers. Watermelon and Heirloom Tomato Salad ($30) - 4.7/5 A refreshing mix of endive, arugula, feta, basil, and minted vinaigrette. The presentation was stunning, and the flavors were balanced and fresh. While delicious, it felt slightly overpriced compared to other entrées. Fort Bragg Petrale Sole ($36) - 4.9/5 This dish stood out for its presentation and balance of flavors. The parmesan crust and toasted almond risotto were delightful, complemented by lemon and thyme butter. Coffee-Rubbed New York Steak ($54) - 4/5 The steak was well-seasoned with chipotle-lime butter and served with crispy potato wedges and corn salsa. The flavors were excellent, but the steak arrived slightly cooler than expected, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. Caramel Bread Pudding ($13) - 4.9/5 Served warm with vanilla ice cream, this dessert was rich, comforting, and perfect for enjoying outdoors on a cool evening. It was the ideal sweet ending to a scenic dinner. Drinks Sausalito Sunset ($19) - 1/5 A mix of rums, passionfruit, coconut, and nutmeg. Unfortunately, it was overly sweet and syrupy, masking the individual flavors. Palomita ($19) - 3/5 A tequila and mezcal cocktail with grapefruit and fresno agave. The flavor was balanced but not memorable. Final Thoughts Farley and Sula provide one of the most scenic dining experiences in Sausalito, with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline. The ambiance and service make this an excellent spot for a romantic dinner, a business lunch, or a relaxing brunch at Cavallo Point Lodge. While the prices can feel high and the drinks inconsistent, the food quality and atmosphere are worth experiencing at least once. For locals, I recommend enjoying a picnic on the grass, hike around the nearby trails and returning here in the evening for a glass of wine and dessert by the fire.

Truly as good as it gets. A hidden gem because of its location, but absolutely worth the drive if you’re looking to get out of the city. Menu is fun and creative. Service super refined and polished. Atmosphere cool without trying to be. Been coming for years and haven’t ever had a bad time. Pro tip: eat outside on the deck facing the Golden Gate Bridge. Some of the most underrated views in the whole Bay Area. Cheers!

This was our first time having brunch at Farley and it was a great experience. The restaurant has a very sophisticated look, cozy and warm ambience super inviting. Our waiter Nico was exceptional. I had the chicken sandwich with a martini espresso. They were both amazing. My wife had the chicken noodle salad and she liked it. I recommend you make a reservation before coming here on weekends especially.

It was our first time here. Everything here is perfect in my opinion. Great staff who are always checking on you discreetly, unlike most restaurant that bother you in middle of a great conversation. The food was also great, the only down side was they only had sandwiches and they were kind enough to remove the buns. But I wish they would add more options to their menu 😄. Atmosphere just love it. We really had a great time, definitely we will go back.

Italian restaurant
Poggio Trattoria is an upscale-casual Italian restaurant located in the heart of Sausalito, offering perfect outdoor seating for people-watching. The dishes are crafted from herbs and produce grown in their on-site garden, adding a fresh and authentic touch to their Northern Italian cuisine. The restaurant boasts a stacked wine cellar and serves up classic dishes such as agnolotti pasta, spaghetti, and soppressata pizza.
Absolute amazing dinner with family for a celebration. The best Italian food I can remember. Yummy from A to Z. We shared 3 appetizers, had 3 mains and 2 desserts, plus cocktails and wine (by the glass). Attentive, very friendly service, good recommendations. Nice atmosphere, low noise level. Highly recommended, we'll be back for sure!

We love coming here on weekends, great spot to walk around and enjoy a meal. The pasta is always our favorite, and today’s scallops were amazing. Salad was fresh too. Food can be hit or miss sometimes (dinner is usually better than afternoon), but overall, highly recommend.

Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Italian restaurant is an absolute gem! The food flavors are mouthwatering from start to finish. The halibut was so fragrant and delicious that people at the next table asked us what it was on the menu! The burrata was heavenly, creamy and fresh, and both the soup and salad were outstanding. Every bite felt like a celebration of authentic Italian flavors. Truly an unforgettable dining experience!

We enjoyed it here but it didn't quite live up to its reputation. Service was very good and it would be a 3.5 if the half point was available. We found it to be on the expensive side. Good wine list and drink selection. The atmosphere was nice but nothing special. The food was good but not amazing as the prices would dictate. Poggio’s is a Sausalito staple. Great for drinks at the bar with friends, nice lunch in their outdoor bistro seating, or a fancier dinner for a celebration. Our table took 20 minutes longer than our reservation time, so we got cocktails at the bar (the martinis are great). When we finally sat down in a back of the room booth, it was still quite loud, so just a note for your audience. We got the wood fired flatbread which is like thin crust pizza dough that’s crispy in the edges, covered in oil and garlic. Simple but delicious. For appetizers, the burrata with pesto was large, and the pesto alone was amazing. The prosciutto and melon (it was honeydew) was as expected but still good. For mains, the risotto was exceptional, full of flavor and tons of seafood. The pappardelle pasta dish was decadent with a quail ragu (and an impressive amount of meat). The spaghetti alla amatriciana was simple, but well executed with a good portion of sauce. For the non-pasta lovers, the short rib was fantastic with the creamiest polenta. It was a little strange that a large (cooked) onion was just added to the dish, but good nonetheless. Wrapping up with dessert, the budino is the chocolate lava cake of your dreams. Even non-chocolate lovers will appreciate it. If you do have allergies, they’re great about confirming with the kitchen since some ingredients aren’t listed on the menu. Biggest highlight of the night was our waiter Jamsheed. He was attentive, thoughtful, helpful, and did his job with flare. Will definitely asked for him next time we come!
Natalie C — Google review
Food: Pastas were flavorful, but the pappardelle were very sticky as due to it may gotten cooked way early and when the dish presented to us, the pappardelle were stick together and hard to eat. The half chicken was definitely not a full half size, unless it was a baby chicken used for the dish. Plus the taste and the cooking level of the dish was way unworthy of the value: skins overly cooked and I could find some carbonized smell, and as a result, inside protein was too well done. Service: we dined in around 12pm, and it wasn't too crowded or busy. It was a little hard for us to find our waitress for ordering a coffee when main dishes were completed and when we already had asked for a coffee menu. Plus I found the waitress was a little not caring for our table, but rather just go through the minimum motion of the work at our table.

This is my fourth time coming here, and the service with Francesco is always the best. He always explains the menu to me. He always tells me the specials of the day. Specialty Museums
Located in the Presidio, The Walt Disney Family Museum offers a captivating look into the life and achievements of Walt Disney. Spanning 3,700 square meters, this museum features interactive exhibits showcasing original artwork and early animation. Visitors can admire Disney's awards, explore a model of Disneyland, and view his personal Lilly Belle locomotive. While parents delve into Disney's legacy, kids can enjoy story time and family-friendly activities at the Little Open Studio.
As a family of lifelong Disney fans, visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum was an incredibly meaningful and memorable experience for us. From the moment we walked in, we were immersed in the inspiring journey of Walt Disney’s life from his humble beginnings to the creation of the magic that shaped generations. The exhibits were thoughtfully laid out, filled with original artwork, rare footage, personal letters, and detailed models that gave us a deeper appreciation for Walt not just as a visionary, but as a person. We especially loved the multi-plane camera demonstration and the massive Disneyland model it truly brought the magic to life in a way we hadn't seen before. The museum strikes the perfect balance between being educational and emotionally touching. It gave us a whole new perspective on the creativity, perseverance, and heart that built the Disney legacy. One important tip: the museum is only open Thursday through Sunday, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly. If you're a Disney fan, this is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just about the company it’s about the man behind the dream, and we walked away feeling even more inspired and connected to the

This is a must visit for any Disney fan, fan of history or anyone in the San Francisco area looking for a great activity to do. Allow yourself at least 2 hours to properly explore the museum, there is a lot to see, read and learn and you don’t want to miss anything! I recommend buying the tickets online before arrival, but there is the option to buy when you get there. There are several different price options for adults, kids etc. The museum itself is situated in a beautiful red building, close to the Golden Gate Bridge. It has two levels to it. It is wheelchair friendly and also has lifts inside, so you don’t have to take the stairs. The museum takes you through Walt Disney and his family’s past, with historic items from his childhood to adulthood, and takes you through the journey he had to become the famous man everyone knows. You will see the various companies he worked for, his first drawings and designs, all the way up to the creation of Disneyland itself. The museum boasts a massive replica model of Disneyland park which is fascinating to view and admire and there is so much detail shown about the park around it. Overall an incredible visit. I learnt so much I didn’t know about Walt Disney and the history behind the parks and it is a really enjoyable experience. All staff are friendly and professional and there to help you with any questions. The museum is easily accessible by car, with parking right outside, drop off via taxi or walking from nearby.

If you love Disney and are in San Francisco, go to this attraction! We loved learning about the Disney family and how all the magic came to life. Their gift shop had some really great literature available. We were able to mail a post card from the gift shop which was fun and cheap. This is self paced. Outside the museum is a long grassy area overlooking the Golden Gate bridge. Food carts were lined up so we grabbed some lunch after finishing up.
Brittany B — Google review
This is more focused on Walt Disney the person than on Disney productions, which makes this even more interesting. Seeing Walt's life story, and the struggles he went through, personalized him in a way that isn't done anywhere else. There are plenty of movie clips and sing-alongs too, and a fantastic model of Disneyland. If you're interested in who is behind your favorite characters spend a couple hours here.
Matt O — Google review
Excellent place to get to know more about Walt Disney family, see very close his ways on a daily basis, get to know more about some details behind the scenes of his life, how he got where he got, how he faced certain challenges in his life, with his staff. Its really nice to see how the ideas were built. I really enjoyed the museum. The ticket was $25, its worth it if you want to see first hand every detail of Walt Disney family, Disneyland and some movies in his early days till his death.
Cristina R — Google review
This is a historical museum to understand and learn how Walt Disney came to be. If you're interested in knowledge of cartoons and movement and sound and how it came about, this museum provides a historical timeline. Some people breezed through the museums that I really took the time to read and listen since there is so much to take in. This is not just about Disneyland, but the birth of animation in addition to sound music and historical actors, artists, and entertainment as a whole. I didn't realize how much influence he had in other areas of cinema.
I C — Google review
One of my favorite museums. There is so much to see, read, and experience. I went for a special exhibit of Mary Blair's work and it was so wonderfully curated. Too many people think her career was just Small World, and that was such a tiny part of her legacy. I loved seeing the Maxwell House coffee ad she had done. Such a beautiful collection and the presentation was worth crossing the country for.
Joe O — Google review
This was an excellent visit. Came with a friend from the area but hadn't been here. Cost was $25 a person. Staff was friendly. I am from Central Florida near Disney World and been there several times. I enjoy Disney movies but am not a Disney enthusiast. The museum was very well done. I enjoyed the cases at awards at the beginning especially the Oscars as I am a movies fan. I liked that they started with his grandparents and parents. Throughout the museum they include timelines of his history and historical events. Walt Disney's story and accomplishments are told really well. There is a lot of technical detail on how he and his crew upgraded movie making over the years. The museum is a standard looking museum for awhile but then we were spit out into this multi level room with screens, trains and fun displays that made me feel like I was in a room at an earlier Disney world. There is an animatronic parrot. The end bit about his death tugged the heart strings. Very much enjoyed our visit.

The Trident is an iconic restaurant located over the water, featuring 60s art and woodwork. It offers a diverse menu including seafood, steaks, and Mexican dishes. The restaurant's San Francisco-facing deck is a popular spot to enjoy their famous cioppino and other delicious offerings. With every seat offering a view of San Francisco and Alcatraz Island, guests can savor local stone crab or beer-battered fish and chips while taking in the stunning scenery.
Overall, we had an excellent experience, having drinks at the Trident. The views are simply amazing and the patio is extremely nice. We did not have any food therefore we cannot recommend or rate that aspect of this restaurant. The cocktails we have were excellent.

Stopped at Trident after biking across the Golden Gate Bridge — such a perfect spot to unwind! They kindly offered free bike parking, which was a great bonus. The oysters were absolutely fresh and flavorful, and the fried calamari and shrimp were perfectly crispy and delicious. Great food, welcoming service, and unbeatable views. Highly recommend! 🦪🚲🌉

Upon arriving and parking valet is on site. Believe it is $10 an hour could be mistaken. Arriving inside you are greeted by a nice wooden interior with plenty of windows to look at the bay and distant San Francisco city. The food itself is a bit on the pricier side but given the area it is expected. I ordered the Maine lobster tail which was about $68. The wait did not take too long. The veggies were great and the lobster tail was delicious. Overall a bit nice and pricy then I’m used to but good upscale with beautiful scenery.
K R — Google review
Full disclosure, we didn't plan on eating here. We pulled in to valet for the restaurant next door, but we're told parking was for Trident patrons only so we stayed. Let me tell you, fate brought us to the right place! It has a charming, old-school interior, an amazing location on the water (we saw a seal and multiple dolphins), strong, boozy cocktails to help you unwind and damn good food to sober you up after day drinking. Plus, with no wait for a table at lunchtime on a Saturday, it was a win all the way around for me.
Heather K — Google review
Never in my life have I received slower service. Absolutely mind blown that from the time we walked into the restaurant (NOT busy) it took us ~30m to receive a single beer at our table. Paid the check as soon as our drinks arrived and couldn’t leave soon enough. View was nice though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nice place to visit for the historical aspect but otherwise not worth the effort. The table was sticky and the place needs a deep clean and renovation. The Tequila Sunrise was average, my Chowder was good but everyone else was disappointed with their food. Nice view of the bay and SF and when every other restaurant was booked at 7pm on a Saturday, now we know why this one wasn’t. Cool Stones story and only in Marin County does the Gov’t put up a plaque memorializing the story quoting Keith Richards and the 72 Cocaine and Tequila Sunrise US tour.

Napa Valley Burger Company is a cozy restaurant in Sausalito, California that offers carefully sourced gourmet burgers and fries, as well as local wines. The warm space features brick walls and has been serving customers since 1992. This family-owned establishment also offers Scandinavian classics like Danish meatballs and Norwegian salmon alongside their signature open-face Copenhagen burger. On Sundays, they offer a special brunch menu for visitors to enjoy.
Whether you’re going for lunch or dinner, Napa Valley Burger Company will not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Lucas, who was courteous, professional, and truly set the tone for a great meal. We decided to try the Turkey Swiss Avocado Burger which was a delightful combination of flavors—the juicy turkey patty complemented by the creamy avocado and melted baby Swiss cheese made each bite satisfying. The Fish Tacos were fresh and well-prepared, a great option for seafood lovers. The Waffle Fries—crispy, golden, with melted jack and cheddar cheese. With ranch dressing on the side, I just kept going at it. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with excellent food and service. If you're in the area and craving a great burger or some delicious comfort food, Napa Valley Burger Company is definitely worth a visit!

Chill environment. Music was low so you can have a normal conversation. There are a couple of TVs on. They have a full bar and draft beers. We just shared the onion rings. They were crispy with fresh onions. When you bit into them they had a crunch and the entire onion didn't pull out it came with Chipotle aioli and ranch.

I went here yesterday, and it was a really nice spot. The atmosphere was beautiful, very Napa-style, elegant and cozy inside, with a clean and pleasant vibe. The service was okay, nothing too special, but fine overall. We ordered an Angus beef burger with American-style hot dog sausage, and it was delicious. The highlight for me was definitely the sweet potato fries, seriously amazing, super crispy and flavorful. Although they did have a slight taste of old frying oil. Other than that, the food was great, prices were fair, and it’s a place I’d definitely visit again.

The food was ok. The burger and fries were delicious. Our son did not like the chicken fingers. They were not fresh. Tasted like they were frozen. Two children thought the grilled cheese was ok. They were prepared on burger buns. One son had the kids burger and was happy. The golden margaritas are strong and delicious. The restaurant was very busy during lunch. The ambiance is kind of a pub like feel. The service was fast and friendly.

I do not have much to say except it's hands down my best burger ever. I've been there in 2018 & now in 2025 - nothing changed, always a great team, nice service & amazing burgers. You need to go there !

I never say "no" to a good burger.....and I'm certainly glad I didn't say "no" to this one! I ordered the "Sausalito Burger" and it ranks amongst the best burgers I've ever had, although a bit on the messy side (but what great burgers aren't?)! The accompanying fries were also cooked to perfection! The service was beyond efficient and the washrooms were spotlessly clean. Give them a try!!! I'll be returning!!!

Wonderful place with amazing flavors! Their kids’ menu and sandwiches are both excellent. The staff is very understanding, kind, and friendly, which makes the experience even better. Great spot for families — highly recommended! 👏🍔✨

This is one of the better dining options in Sausalito. Having said that, the food is good, but not amazing. We just wanted something super quick after having biked a good 5 miles, so we were just glad to get a seat. We sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty nice. We ordered a beer and a sangria. The sangria was delicious. I always rate my sangrias based on how much wine I taste, the less, the better because it means the drink is smoother. This one hit the mark there for sure. The food was just ok. We got their yountville burger and the fish tacos. The plates were big. The burger had bacon along with the usual suspects. Most of the plate was occupied by the salad. The burger was decent, just like any other burger. We didn't finish the whole thing because of how large the portion was. The fish taco plate came with 2 fish tacos and a big salad. The tacos were ok. There was a large piece of grilled fish with avocados. Between the two, the tacos were definitely better. They were difficult to eat because of how big the tacos were. These tacos are nowhere close to the real authentic tacos you'd get in San Diego but they were good enough. Salsa did not have any salt in it so it was disappointing. Pricing wise, the whole check is on the higher end of the range for what we ate, but that is Sausalito for you!

Italian restaurant
Angelino Restaurant is a family-friendly Italian eatery located in Sausalito, California. It offers a mix of classic and exotic dishes, including seafood pasta and grilled octopus salad. Run by the Ancona family for multiple generations, this waterfront restaurant has built a reputation for its delicious food and cozy atmosphere. The menu features authentic Italian cuisine such as arrosticini and handmade pastas, along with seasonal antipasti that showcases the flavors of the Campania region.
I recently visited Angelino Restaurant and had a really nice experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy dining area and friendly staff who made us feel welcome right away. The pizza was delicious — the crust had a great balance of crispness and chew, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. It definitely felt like an authentic Italian touch. They also have other Italian dishes on the menu that looked tempting, so I’d love to come back and try more. Service was attentive without being overwhelming, and the location by the water adds to the charm of the place. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that it can get busy, and the wait time for food was a little longer than expected. Overall, a great spot for pizza and Italian food — I’d recommend it if you’re in the area!

The setting is gorgeous, so that adds a wonderful ambiance. Having just visited Italy, the food here was good but not amazing. We had the focaccia, gnocchi and chicken secondi. The waitstaff was surprisingly standoffish and brusque the entire time. That was pretty off putting, especially given the prices. I expect excellent service at this price point

Indulging in authentic Italian flavors at this restaurant was an absolute treat! The bolognese was rich and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the freshly made noodles. The bread, with its crispy exterior and pillowy soft interior, was a delightful addition to the meal. However, the noisy ambiance slightly dampened the dining experience. And the price was a little pricey overall given the portion of one pasta served. Nevertheless, for those craving genuine Italian fare, this spot is worth a visit! 🍝🇮🇹

We that was the best cioppino I’ve ever had. I am a French chef and I know. Wish we had taken a photo but we were in the moment and had to start eating immediately. Monday night dinner. Must come here every Monday and any day of the week. Service incredible, drinks amazing. Atmosphere, super cozy, but also dreamy fancy. And the view is romantic. Enjoy!

Love the restaurant super cute. The lady seating was super sweet. Food was phenomenal specially the bolognese. Service was okay, there was a server there I wish I remembered his name but he was more attentive than our server.

We had a delicious dinner at this lovely, cozy restaurant in downtown Sausalito. Relaxed, comfortable ambiance. We ordered the arancini as an appetizer to share. Foccacia al Rosmarino was soft and flavorful. I really enjoyed my shrimp. My husband's linguine alla pescatore dish was so good I ate all of my plate and some of his. Highly recommend Angelino for dinner while in Sausalito.

Overall 1/5, disappointed. Here’s my order: Pizza Margherita - 3/5, crust was burned. Ravioli- 1/5, dry, has no flavor. Scampi with shrimp - 🍤 🍤 🍤 🍤/5, because shrimp was tasty. Appetizers aren’t bad. Lentil soup - well, 0/5. Because it looked like a dog food and did not taste well. We had one more salty food, forgot its name 🙃 The view is beautiful tho 🤷🏻‍♀️

Restaurant
The Spinnaker is a classic Californian-seafood restaurant located in Sausalito, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city, bay, seals, and sailboats. The dining room provides 270-degree wide-open views that are particularly romantic during clear winter days and half an hour before sunset when the skyline of San Francisco and the Bay are illuminated by sunlight. The restaurant has been a beloved spot for generations and is known for its traditional charm.
⭐️Timeless⭐️Views⭐️Romantic⭐️ We drove in for a gorgeous sunset dinner. Our table was situated right against the bay view where we could see sailboats go by and the sunset against the gorgeous San Francisco cityscape. This place has a lot of salad, seafood, pasta, and steak options, as well as a large beverage list. I ordered the shrimp cocktail, and clam chowder soup, and was delighted at the portion size and freshness. 10/10 would recommend and will most definitely be returning. ⭐️

The restaurant is in a very unique location. You can see the bay bridge and San Francisco City skyline from the windows. The food is excellent with very good service. It is a nice place to enjoy food, service and peaceful mind.

For us, as tourists, this restaurant captures very well the Sausalito spirit! Awesome views to the bay and lots of light, classy people, elegant ambience and food that clearly stands above average. Prices are also above average but balanced given the quality of the food and experience. We enjoyed the sea platters and the excellent desserts, although as Europeans we prefer all fresh fish specialties with much less sauce on them or even none at all. Staff are highly professional and gentle, and we were treated with much attention overall.

Can’t beat the view! Wish the food matched that. Average at its best. Had fish n chips n left being blotted all evening, definitely pass on that. Mahi-mahi on special menu of the day was just okay. Will definitely go back for the view and drinks, esp around sunset.

The oysters were very nice but the restaurant had a few issues. Anything fried in oil was a red flag. The fries I received were either overcooked or prepared with lower quality oil. The waiter asked how my food was - I mentioned it was okay except the fries have not my expectations. He giggled and shrugged it off and continued. While the restaurant has killer views - I wouldn’t go back for the service and quality of food. I ended up only giving a 8% gratuity due to the poor service and food I received. The attention to detail this restaurant has and the prices of the food were not matched. Wouldn’t go back here.

The view is fantastic, but the food and service are just average. Some of the furniture could use repair, our table was wobbly and shook every time we moved a dish. It affected the overall dining experience.

Beautiful view! We made reservations so we were seated right away. Service was ok, the person serving the bread didn't check when we asked about the egg allergy but the waiter did finally. Waiter had no knowledge on wine which seemed odd given all the wine awards displayed. The food was just ok. The special was branzino and it was overcooked. The squash soup was good. Fish and chips was hearty.
Nicole M — Google review
Love the view! Clam chowder was delicious. But unfrotunately angel hair sea food pasta has no flavor I had to add a lot of salt to taste. The seafood used in the pasta was not fresh, probably cheap frozen seafood. Overall it's a good place to visit only once for the view and eat the soup, then get your fill at a better restaurant.

With an array of cuisines such as Indian, Korean, Filipino, Mexican, and more, visitors can mix and match to create their ideal meal at an affordable price. The event takes place in San Francisco's Fort Mason on Friday evenings and features a large gathering of food trucks.
Attended the Off the Grid event at Fort Mason this past weekend and it was truly an unforgettable experience! San Francisco never ceases to amaze with its vibrant culinary scene and this event was no exception. A plethora of food options to choose from, each one more delicious than the next. The live DJ set the perfect ambiance for a laid-back evening with friends. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this is a must-visit. Hats off to the organizers for such a well-curated event!"

Great fun on Friday nights. Lots of food trucks and free entertainment. Best views in the city and a cool crowd. Get there early to reserve a seat you won’t be disappointed

It's back after a two-year COVID hiatus! First night (4/1/22) was packed! Lively music, dozens of food trucks, an unbelievable variety of food, thousands of people, and even a bicycle valet. The event started at 5:00 pm, but I arrived around half an hour earlier yo snag easy parking in the surrounding neighborhood. It's a 2 hour limit from 8 am - 6 pm, so it was perfect timing. The bathrooms were in between buildings C and D and were clean despite so many people there. A pop up bar was strategically placed in the middle of all the trucks and its seemed like almost everybody a drink in hand. The only ones who didn't had young children in tow. My only complaint: seating us practically nonexistent... The vibe was amazing though, so that made up for it. Bring comfy shoes and be prepared to spend lots of money trying everything out!

What fun! I hadn't been to an Off the Grid event in a long time. I wanted to avoid the crowds and long lines. I went to OtG at 5:30 on a Friday to find a healthy, but not overwhelming number of people. Half an hour later, there were lines at some of the more popular places like Senior Sisig, but plenty of other tasty trucks where you could walk up and order. I went to Jackrabbit and got some very tasty veggie sliders and cheddar scallion tater tots. You can also buy a VIP pass for $25 that gets you four tastes from marked stands. Fort Mason's OtG has fire pits, live music/ djs, and themed nights. Last Friday's theme was Dog Days of Summer and featured dog training advice, a pet food vendor, and Moose the bulldog. I had a perma-smile from all of the dogs and kids. I don't know if the canine influx had anything to do with the night's theme, or if that's normal. I guess I'll have to go back to find out! One last piece of advice: be sure to wander to the edge of Fort Mason (behind the largest buildings) to view the most incredible sunsets over the Golden Gate Bridge. You can thank me later.

Music binds the place with tons of food trucks around to sample from. Momo noodles was my favourite along with slider mini burgers from the kabob truck.

Fish is a laid-back bayside eatery that offers sustainably sourced seafood dishes and organic produce, supporting local fishermen and the economy. The restaurant received the Sustainable North Bay Award for its commitment to wild fish populations. Located near a harbor in Sausalito, it provides beautiful waterfront views of the bay and multimillion-dollar houses on the hills. The menu features fresh grilled fish, pasta, salads, and a kids' menu.
Was really excited to try this iconic spot and it didn’t disappoint! The food was super classic - my friends and I ordered a bunch of different items to share. I thought their famous fish and chips were pretty decent but what I really really loved about this spot was casual atmosphere - we seated ourselves right next to the water and enjoyed the view and breeze while we ate. Just great vibes overall and really satisfied my cravings

When in Sausalito, you “have” to eat at Fish! It’s our go-to spot, mainly because their fish smash burger never disappoints—hands down our favorite, plus, the skinny fries are, yes, skinny, and crispy, as they should! This time, we decided to try the clam dip since we never had it before. It was good, but nothing mind-blowing in terms of flavor; probably wouldn’t order it again. We also gave the tuna sandwich a shot and were pleasantly surprised. The bread was pan-fried to perfection, and everything came together really nicely. Just a side note: we tried the trout hot dog about four visits ago. Unfortunately, that one was a miss for us. It was overly salty and lacked flavor. The salt may have masked the flavor? We only ordered it because it was advertised as award-winning, but sadly, we didn’t agree and haven’t ordered it since. Bottom line: get the fish smash burger. Always worth it!

INCREDIBLE food and great atmosphere. We got the chowder, salmon smash burger, and crab roll. All were flavorful and unique. I was pretty skeptical about the salmon burgers (I often find them dry and the flavor okay) but this salmon smash burger made me question everything. There’s also a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We ate at the restaurant along the water, and it was just lovely. Will be back!

I really enjoyed the food at Fish, honestly, is was pretty well done. The fish was crispy, if a bit greasy, and was in some huge portions. We also got garlic bread, which was amazing, definitely recommend. Among a few other things we got that were very well done. The things is, the wait for the food was incredibly long for what we did end up getting and the price did seem a bit high for the atmosphere (on some random port and filled with a seat-yourself and be eventually served idea) which didn't quite meet what I expected. Still amazing and the food was heart-attack greasy and good that I could eat again. I'm not sure if this is truly a 5 star review, perhaps similar to Harris' is the way that it is 4.5 stars. 5 star if you're going with more casual vibes, 4 star if not.

I absolutely LOVE Fish. I am from out of town, so I don’t get to visit often, but whenever I am visiting my friends in the Bay Area I make a point to stop by and enjoy a meal at Fish. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. Plenty of options for all sorts of palates. I got the ceviche and red chowder. Both were so very tasty and I couldn’t get enough. We also had the white chowder, fish tacos, poke bowl, and fish and chips. Not a single bite survived. A bit pricey but oh so very good! Can’t beat the views and vibes here.

Freds is a great breakfast spot with outdoor seating. The food options are great, and the prices are reasonable. The wait for brunch is surprisingly reasonable, and the locals are friendly and welcoming.
Haven’t been Sausalito for a long while because I worried a traffic. Came here for brunch and chill out on weekday. Turned out it was a good experience. I chose Fred’s because it’s very local, and it located not in busy downtown. Ordered the crab egg benedict and Italian Swedish, they were delicious. It’s a bit pricey but it’s ok because the portions are big. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Who care it doesn’t have sea views. Highly recommended, definitely will come back again! Updated 1/29 : Came back again after one week. This time we ordered Fred’s Burger and Salmon Egg Benedict. Our favorite brunch place after hiking Mt. Tamalpais

Easily the best eggs Benedict I have had in my entire life, the sweet bacon is to die for and you can't go wrong with the waffles either and I can't get over how fresh the OJ was. Perfect and cozy breakfast spot!

Here’s the deal: we decided to try this place for something new. Our normal breakfast place is Salt and Pepper in Tiburon. The bottom line: this place is mid and Salt and Pepper is the best breakfast in Marin. We ordered: the sweet bacon, Swedish pancakes, and scrambled eggs with chorizo and onion. Pancakes: ok- lacked flavor and the maple syrup on the table tasted like those fake syrups. Eggs: not great- chorizo and onion were in huge chunks- the preparation lacked attention to detail and was messy. I asked what other toppings we could add to the eggs and was told they don’t do that here. This dish was $25. See photo. Bacon: nice flavor but very chewy and not crispy. $10 for two pieces of bacon is absurd. All in all, we will not return and we’re VERY disappointed. The service was unfriendly and rushed. Skip this place. It’s no good.

Went for a morning drive to Sausalito from San Francisco. I hadn’t been to this town in ages & wanted to revisit this charming town. I googled places for breakfast & Fred’s looked promising so we headed there. There’s a small shared parking lot next to the cafe & plenty of street parking. It’s a small cafe with some outdoor seating & it was pretty busy on Saturday morning. We were seated at a large shared table with two other people. They didn’t mind & neither did we. Extensive menu- I’d read the most popular items are the lemon ricotta pancakes, egg plate with sweet bacon, deep fried French toast & the Swedish, but looking at fellow customers plates who’d ordered some of the dishes, I decided I could not eat such large portions! I went for the single berry waffle & my husband ordered the veggie omelette. The waffle was delicious; only wish the syrup they served was real Maple syrup. I don’t eat the fake stuff so I skipped it. The omelette was very nice & came with toast & hash browns. We had ordered cappuccino & laughed when we saw the size of the “cup” - almost like a mini bathtub! I’m fussy about my coffee & this one just ok. Overall, a nice little place to enjoy breakfast before walking down to the marina & town center.

No nonsense delicious fresh diner food. Huge portions for the price. I got the crab omelette with fruit, and the omelette was packed with delicious fresh crab and veggies. The fruit side was huge with fresh blueberries, blackberries, bananas, and cantaloupe. Our service was quick and coffee was hot. We’ll be back next time we’re in the area!

I loved the cornflake French toast. I make French toast on my homemade bread most every weekend, and this was unique with great crunch, tender on the inside, and perfectly done. The hash browns were fresh, hot, and delightful.

Great little place to stop for a quick bite. Right outside SF past the Golden Gated heading North. 8 min from the Vista Point. Service was fast, and food hit the spot. We arrived around 11, and I was able to get breakfast while my son got lunch. We sat at the bar as to enjoy some father son time together, being able to watch the chef put the food together is always a treat. Prices we’re decent for todays world, will make this a routine stop on long trips north.

The park underwent redevelopment and reopened to the public in 2020, offering green lawns, a scenic trail, sand volleyball courts, bocce courts, and a charming gazebo. Visitors can enjoy picnics on the grass or at the tiny beach during low tide while watching birds dip into the bay.

Today I passed by and saw a cute farmers market. We bought some fruit—it was delicious and sweet. The place was clean, and the people were very nice. There was a woman singing with a beautiful voice. I’m not sure if the farmers market is there every Sunday, but it was a great experience!

Nice Sausalito park on the water just north of the busier commercial Sausalito. Nice views, walk your dog, play bocce or sand volleyball, picnic or just take pictures.

French restaurant
Bistro
Le Garage is an industrial-chic bistro located in a converted auto shop by the water. The restaurant offers an intimate setting with vintage posters, cozy booths, and a fireplace that exudes the charm of old French streets. Guests can also opt for al fresco dining on the boardwalk when the weather is pleasant. The menu features classic French dishes made with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, providing couples with an exquisite dining experience.
The food was really amazing. Loved bouillabaisse, it was delicious and the portion size was good as well. The salmon was beautifully cooked and the parsnip puree was delicious. We went for brunch only to realize that brunch is only served in weekends. Definitely a good visit.

Le Garage in Sausalito continues to be one of the Bay Area’s best hidden gems, even after nearly two decades of excellence. Nestled right on the waterfront, it offers not only picturesque views but also a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps regulars coming back. The owner and staff treat you like family, remembering your name and favorite dish, creating an experience that feels both special and familiar. On my most recent visit, I had the grilled chicken sandwich — and it was absolutely divine. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, paired with fresh, quality ingredients that elevated a simple sandwich into something memorable. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the first time, Le Garage is a place that quietly impresses every time. It’s the kind of spot you almost want to keep to yourself, but it’s just too good not to share.

Everything was AMAZING. I'm not sure why this place only has 4.4 stars (at the time of writing this), but from the atmosphere to the food and the staff, you can't go wrong. Every flavor is matched beautifully, and the portions were light yet full of flavor. I'd highly recommend going yourself or with a group of friends! *Note, this place was recommended by a French friend 😋

This is a great spot in Sausalito. Servers were very attentive, and food was well made and fresh. Great ambiance and views. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict and mussels.

Modern French menu choices. A few more options would move it to a 5 star for me. Our waitress happened to be flighty and the busser took my plate while i was still chewing. The other staff seemed solid. I'll update when I visit next.

Restaurant
Saylors Restaurant & Bar in Sausalito offers a festive atmosphere with a menu inspired by the coastal Mexican and Southwestern cuisine of Cabo. The restaurant is popular among both kids and adults, featuring an extensive kids' menu with options like grilled cheese, nachos, and chicken strips. Chef Sean Saylor brings his expertise to create a blend of Mexican and American dishes that capture the taste of Cabo in Marin.
Easily one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! The staff were super kind and accommodating. The restaurant was extremely clean, and the interior looks charming and delightful. The menu was massive, and the wait for the food was very short. The portion sizes were great, and along with the price, it is truly impressive! The food tasted amazing, and the presentation of the food on the plate just added to it even more. So much love and care has been poured into this restaurant and the dining experience that I can’t recommend coming here enough!

Well, there we were in Sausalito with nothing better to do than throw rocks at seagulls, and we only do that because the tourists get kind of scared when you bring out the shotguns. Then all the sudden Joe Basker beaned one right on the noggin, it had just grabbed a cheeseburger right from some midwesterner as he was about to take a bite. That cheeseburger landed on the sidewalk right near the sea lion statue and a homeless dude snatched it up fast. That seagull must have some headache cuss all he can do is swim in a tight circle. Old Joe then yells out something about winning a prize for the best shot of the day, and says I gotta buy him a Prawn Cocktail at Saylor's Restaurant & Bar! So, that's where we hid out. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Grate Mexican good selection. Got myself a steak super burrito and a shrimp burrito for my wife and we both enjoyed every bite of it. Customer service is good, we did had to wear a mask to order our take out order. Chips and salsa is complimentary.

Cozy spot right beside the road in Sausalito. Ambience is nice, and there's a bar accompanying the restaurant. Ordered the enchilada and burrito supreme. Food arrived in enormous portions and had to pack half of it. The chicken didn't seem too fresh though and was chewy rather than crunchy. For dessert, had the Kahlua flan which is a custard pie bathed in Kahlua liquor. Definitely something unique to try out.

Pet friendly. Great atmosphere. Plates for happy hour are cheap, and small. You get what you pay for. Popcorn shrimp was so yummy. The chips are perfectly thin and toasted

The service is very good After we arrived we automatically got tortilla chips and salsa - it was great and warm.... The food was ok We ordered chicken, steak and shredded beef taco, cascadia and a cob salad The cascadia was the best dish of them all ! At the end we had a great dessert!

Seafood restaurant
Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming northern part of Sausalito, away from the hustle and bustle of Bridgeway, lies the delightful Sausalito Seahorse. This vibrant eatery is a haven for seafood lovers and fans of Tuscan cuisine alike. With an inviting atmosphere that buzzes with live music several nights a week—ranging from classic rock to salsa—it's not just a place to dine but also to enjoy an evening out.
Amazing place in the neighborhood! Listening to birds while enjoying Italian wine and conversation. I have enjoyed the pizza, the pastas & desserts. Everything has been lovely. I always come during the quiet times.
Valerie H — Google review
Very friendly staff:) We got fettuccine (very good), seafood risotto, and margarita pizza. Overall good is good. Only downside was the live music being a bit too loud for us.
Daphne L — Google review
A very good place where you can dance to live Latin American music until 9 pm, and then for another hour the DJ entertains the most desperate and tireless dancers. Everyone dances - no one is left without attention. Even those who do not know how to dance dance. This is important. The cuisine is so-so - you can have a snack, drink. A cheerful elegant waiter. I recommend.
Nataliia C — Google review
Great vibes here. A great spot to enjoy food and relax. Large space and seating area. We enjoy the live music while having weekend lunch here. Food quality is good as well as the service. I love the Sea Horse Salad. It has variety of seafood mix with it.

Mothers day. Meal for mom was... forgotten? Came 15 mins after the 3 other meals. No apology, nothing. And the fish that was delivered tasted "off," had to be sent back. Salmon pasta was "nice," very salty. Pictured: $28 for 6 medium shrimp served with *COLD* vegetables. Some lady in a red coat sat by the door jarring random guests by yelling at them about the bathroom doors. Waiter only came back once every 20-30 mins if there was a dish to deliver. What a strange experience. Do not listen to the reviews. STAY IN LINE FOR FISH!!!!! Our appetizer (a lump of salty bread) took half an hour, another 40 mins for the meals that forgot the main meal that was for me (the mom, on mother's day), and then I had to wander the restaurant to get the server to return the late inedible fish.

This is my favorite place for Latin dance and Birthday/ Business meetings celebrations. Great atmosphere, free parking space, beautiful vibe and behavior of musician's, dancers, and administration team.

What a gem of a place in lovely Sausalito, just off the Clipper Yatch Harbor! They have two outdoor patios for those who want to soak up the vitamin D while they sip on their vino, primarily vinters from Italian or California wineries are on their list. Which do not disappoint. I enjoyed a bit of nosh from the short, but not disappointing happy hour menu (as of 9/25/25, only available at the bar or dining room). A glass of Montepulciano, Roccio Forte, boh were what I didn't know I needed on a lovely afternoon. The staff while attentive is not overpowering. They also keep on the music which is appreciated. In addition, on Sundays they offer dancing lessons. Makes me wish I were living closer. Come here, make your way up a bit further folks from all the shops and busy restaurants to some authentic Italian with local sourced seafood, I hope you will be as pleased as I.

Fusion restaurant
BBQ N Curry House is a modest restaurant located in the Gateway Center in Marin City. It offers a wide range of traditional Indian and Pakistani dishes prepared with halal meats. Customers have praised the flavorful Indian chicken burrito, which is generously portioned and packed with rice and tasty meat. The friendly staff and pleasant ambiance add to the dining experience.
Our group got a lot of food, shared, and came to the conclussion that this is one of the best indian food joints this side of the coast. Service was amazingly friendly and warm, food was unbeatably delicious and in large portions. Really nice guys running this restaurant with really tasty food!!!

I just went here for the first time and ordered an Indian chicken burrito -- it was SO delicious! It was full of rice and very flavorful meat. It was very big too -- the average person will probably need to sittings to finish, but I am a big eater so I scarfed it down for lunch. The people were very friendly and the place had neat music playing. Unfortunately, I do not live in the area anymore and will not be able to frequent this hidden gem, but I hope this review encourages others to try it. If you like unique food products that aren't the normal meal, I highly recommend this place.

This is the best place the variety of food that they offer is amazing. And the taste is so unique. They just upgrade some of their dishes now offering a new menu called the chili. Providing to the customer the best burritos 🌯 in town. I’m Hispanic and I’ve try Mexican burritos, but this place is just like in another level of taste when it comes to the chili menu and not just burritos but tacos, nachos with an extraordinary taste that you would want to come back again and visit.

We came here after we saw the 4.0 reviews, the food was just horrible! I got the kabob plate, the kabobs were not fresh. It seemed like they made it a few days ago and they just microwaved it when we ordered it. The rice was also not fresh and had water added to make it soft. The prices are way more expensive than the portion size. We spent $90 for only 3 people. We were very disappointed to spend our lunch with awful food. Will never go there again!

Wish I would've read reviews before I went yesterday 10.5.18 I was in the area for work and decided to try the food. The food was disgusting. I got the kabob plate and the only thing that was fresh was the chicken and salad. The lamb and beef tasted old. The plate was almost $19. I didn't see any prices posted anywhere. I had to wait almost 20 minutes for my order. When it was ready I was summoned to the counter to pick up my food where as the other customers in the place were all brought their to-go orders. I was the only black customer. The kabobs, rice, salad, and bread were all stuffed in one container which had to be held together with a rubber band. I was asked did I need utensils, I said yes, and none was in the bag. Luckily I had an extra set in my purse. Restaurants like these are disgusting and should be ashamed of themselves for serving old food overpriced food.
Tee T — Google review
Went there with family and tried there lunch specials. Had kabob plate and thali combo. The meat did not taste fresh, seems like they just reheated in microwave prior to serving. Serving size and quality was below price we paid. Won’t be going back. 2 Star for pleasant service but bad food.

American restaurant
Murray Circle Restaurant is an elegant former army fort located in the beautiful town of Cavallo Point. The restaurant has a fireplace and porch with views of San Francisco, making it one of the Bay Areas Top culinary destinations. The cuisine is modern American with a focus on fresh, local ingredients.
The food was great. Great variety - it was honestly hard to make a decision They had a great selection of wine and cocktails. Could see the Golden Gate bridge from the table.
Andreea-Elena G — Google review
The restaurant is definitely has an upscale classy vibe. The menu appears to be a very specific selected cuisine but what was great about it was the ingredients were mostly local. I loved that aspect. There is an intimate vibe to the experience but it is also a good place to have a business dinner or casual dinner. Directly adjacent to the restaurant is a full service bar which has high priced selections like Louis XIII as well as the low and dirty ones like Jack Daniel's. The choice is yours. I enjoyed quite a few menu items during my stay which included the following from Breakfast: Crab Cakes Benedict which is served with breakfast potatoes. Highly recommended! Dinner Starters: Ahi Tuna Poke, Blue Crab Cake, and Pan Seared Scallops. The Ahi Tuna Poke was super fresh, melt in your mouth soft with a touch of spice which was unexpected. The garlic chips paired perfectly with it. The blue crab cake was cooked to perfection. Super crispy on the outside, warm and moist inside. The scallops were also absolutely delicious. My favorite of the starters. PSA: The starters seem to be single serve and if you do plan to split, definitely order 2 starters for 2 people. I ate the same entree each night during my stay which was the Tamari Glazed Spring Vegetables party because they were so delicious and partly because I don't eat meat.... Anymore. The menu has a couple non meat selections and this was so tasty I didn't venture elsewhere. The banana bread with vanilla ice cream to top off dinner was such a great decision. Can't go wrong. Order it. Decadent.

We ate here for lunch. The poke appetizer was amazing, the burrata appetizer was just okay. The cocktails were really good but we're very expensive at roughly $19 a piece. We also had the steak sandwich and the bahn mi sandwich. I would recommend the steak sandwich, I would not recommend the bahn mi sandwich. Total cost was around 140 with tip, so while the food was pretty good, it just wasn't a great value as you kind of want to be blown away at that price for lunch imo.
Xyan R — Google review
The ambiance is nice. However, the food and the service were not great. The server nearly gave our food to the next table twice. Two from the group ordered steak and although we ordered medium rare, the steak was clearly well done. They gave us a new one after we mentioned it, but despite clarifying that we wanted medium rare, it was still overcooked (~medium well). I got a crab salad. It was okay, nothing special.
Jackie L — Google review
We were sat at a quaint corner table by a small fireplace and window. Our waitress, Laura, was sparkling 😊 and her service was excellent. We had the duck and the filet mignon, both of which were cooked exquisitely. It was a very enjoyable experience due to the attentive wait staff, nice view, and pleasant ambiance. Formal attire appropriate, but seems as though not absolutely necessary.
Samala B — Google review
Rainy day at Cavallo point lodge is the perfect "ME TIME", not many cars parking around the hotel, very quiet, reading a book near the fireplace, with a glass of wine creates so much peace and joy. Through the window, you can see the lodge buildings are like elegant ladies standing in the rain. Golden Gate Bridge will also be in your view, hidden in the fog. The lawn, and trees get very wet, very dreamy. This is the perfect place to feel the old San Francisco charm.
Sarina L — Google review
Thankful they got us in without a reservation. We waited awhile to be greeted so when the server came we asked to order everything and got told we had to only order drinks first, he would take the food order later. Orders should always be taken when the guest is ready. They had a wedding and the server needed help but it wasn't his fault. Good food but a bit unbalanced. Swordfish was amazing but the sugar added to the black rice took away from the whole dish. All in all I'm very happy we ate here instead of in-room dinning. Solid but not amazing. I'm a local and $19 cocktails are still a bit pricey, even for me. Photo is the view of Golden Gate Bridge from our table. We did dine-in and take-out dessert for later.
J — Google review
This is a hidden gem! You pretty much need to drive here but when you arrive it's a total delight. There is lots of out door seating with views of the marina and golden gate bridge. Food was perfect.
