Initially hesitant because of all the water comments, but figured we’d just buy a coke. Super glad we came. Our waiter warmly greeted us and we took our seat. After bringing us our menus we ask for his recommendations. We decided to go with the popular meat platter for two. Bread and dips were brought fast. Which was great. We were starving. My husband asked for a glass of water, which was promptly brought over (see pics). The meat platter was prepared and brought out quickly. So many choices. Lots of different meats to try, all resting on white rice and beautifully seasoned bulgur. We left with desserts, fresh made that day and will be back. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This was one of the most ridiculous dining experiences I’ve ever had. I arrived at the restaurant at 6:12 PM, only to be told there were no seats available because everything was reserved. The host recommended I join a waitlist, quoting an estimated wait time of 30–40 minutes. It was raining outside, so I decided to wait in my car given the promise of a relatively short wait. After waiting a full hour (around 7:12 PM) with no update, I went back inside to check on my table. Incredibly, the staff then told me I would need to wait another hour. I was shocked—I had already waited far longer than the 30–40 minutes promised. When I politely questioned why the wait was now twice as long, the staff denied ever saying a 30–40 minute estimate in the first place, as if I had imagined it!! The most infuriating part is that there were plenty of empty tables visible inside the restaurant the entire time. It made absolutely no sense that I was made to wait (in the rain, no less) when tables were clearly available. The restaurant is too disorganized to seat waiting customers. Staff were also extremely disorganized and unprofessional. Each time I tried to get an explanation, they shuffled me off to another employee—no one would take responsibility or give a straight answer. I got nothing but vague excuses that never actually addressed my questions. On top of that, communication was poor because the staff didn’t understand English well, making it even more difficult to get any clarity. In the end, I left the restaurant completely disgusted, with my entire evening wasted. The blatant disrespect for customers’ time and the outright dishonesty from the staff were beyond acceptable. We went there wanting to try something and ended up having their biggest platter and it was so fresh and tasty two people finished the whole platter in no time. It would be an understatement to say it was the type of meal that people would write songs about, the type of meal that people would fight and die for.. The bulgur was beautiful with every grain perfectly seasoned, each bite showcasing a new flavour profile... the lahmacun... guys this was what brought me to tears literal tears. The first taste left me speechless and yet every bite changed; with nuanced flavours and side vegetables that you could add to elavate the dish. When we thought this adventure full of discovery had come to a close, Okan brought the crown jewel; the kunefe. No words could describe the pure bliss that the kunefe was... a true gem. They're so good! We visited Döner Express a few days after opening, a day after they had given us some samples of their lokma while we were passing by. We had one mixed beef/chicken combo on a pita, and one beef döner. They accept credit via one of those Square terminals. Currently due to covid, there is no inside seating but they might have stools or something set up, or at least standing eating spots. The good: serving sizes are generous, the toppings are fresh and they have a good mix of sauces - we each had hot sauce and chipotle(??) in addition to tzatziki. You have the option of other sauces, and either a soft pita or vietnamese baguette, which was intriguing. For the lokma, they have a choice of plain or in sugar syrup and they're very good. You can get chocolate drizzle and toppings on them. The prices are very reasonable and the food overall was very tasty. The people in there were also very nice and even though we didn't get their names, we're planning on going more often so there's plenty of time to get to know them :) Anyways, the combo was alright, the fries were definitely fresh (you can tell that they made their own) but they were weirdly shaped slices and weren't very crispy - some fries weren't fully cooked. Also, make sure to ask to get them salted and for ketchup or something because they were just... Straight up some deep fried potato. However, that wasn't a dealbreaker. The inside was also a bit hot and we were sweating in there waiting, but that's outside of their control. We'll definitely be back for döner, the price was good and the serving size too. I wish I got a photo because it was literally overflowing with meat, but we had to rush home to eat it before it rained. Great little spot, definitely check it out!
