The restaurant is decades old, but decently kept. Very eclectic atmosphere, almost like you’re in someone’s abuela’s house. There are plenty of tables for large parties, many booths, and an entire room to rent out for events. Parking is accessible from the lot around back. This style of Mexican cuisine is admittedly not my favorite. I’m more of a fan of the light, fresh mariscos or coastal style. This is more of a traditional, saucy, cheesy, heavy type of food. The flavors are good, the food comes out hot and fast, and the portions are large. The soup that comes with most meals is delicious! It is sort of a kitchen sink soup with lots of vegetables, meat, noodles, and rice. Their salsa is delicious and full of flavor, on the spicier side. But the chips aren’t homemade anymore. The best thing about this restaurant is the service! Our server was extremely attentive. She anticipated our needs, was highly communicative, and didn’t rush us through our dining experience. They used to have the most wonderful chips here, but now they make you pay for them. I have also reviewed this place before, but for some reason all my pictures and review is gone. So the food has gone down hill a lot to where I want to venture out and try other places. The help is very friendly but the wait can be long. They kept filling my water but is was all ice and really not much to drink. The quesadilla was small, the chicken was dry and the shell for the taco was kinda stale tasting. Wish my other review was still up. The salsa is good here but better with the flaky chips I would tell everyone about them. Sad they don’t give you those anymore. They offer weekly special that usually are priced under $10-$15. They’re so quick, super friendly and attentive. Never had an issue with food or service at all. We always get torta, chile verde, enchilada, birria bowl, and tacos. They offer agua frescas that can use more flavor but I still enjoy it. They have free chips and offer a variety of sauces, salsas and sides. The place fits a lot of people but they can become very busy but even during rush hour, I’ve never waited more than 20mins for food. I love supporting this place and enjoy eating it at least two to three times a month. They have outdoor patio seating which I haven’t sat at yet. They do offer alcohol. The decor is simple with Mexican decorations and Mexican music blasting. Love it here. She was a very good waitress but, she had to cover many tables & could have benefited from some extra help waiting tables. I changed my mind on the drink because, I wasn't able to get her attention again after she provided the drink menu. I waited & waved for 12-15 minutes. I started waving my card & asked for the bill. A guy came and grabbed the card & bill & sat the auto payment machine on the table & kept it moving. I am glad I didn't get the drink it would have taken too long to receive it in the time that I wanted to be drinking it. Food was good tasting but when I dipped my chip into my salsa there was a baby German roach on it (according to google). I’ve never seen these before and haven’t encountered this in my home. The roach appeared after I dipped my chip into the salsa/guac and wasn’t on there when I picked the chip up. I still ate my food after this, because I thought it was just a natural insect that comes sometimes with fresh vegetables. Upon searching the image, it came back as a roach and now I’m scared to eat the rest of my meal. Unfortunate as it tasted good but now a large portion has gone to waste.
