On this visit, though, the experience felt a little off. We ordered 2 gift boxes of macarons and 2 brownies. The macarons were packaged nicely in their gift boxes for an extra $2 per a gift box, but we weren’t offered a bag to carry them in. The brownies, on the other hand, weren’t packaged at all. They were just placed directly into the to-go bag. Honestly, kind of gross. For the prices charged, I’d expect proper packaging, especially since they used to be so thoughtful about presentation. A flimsy paper bag doesn’t hold up well (and with the butter content in those brownies, it could’ve soaked through easily). Packaging might seem like a small thing, but it really matters when you’re paying for a premium experience. The desserts are still delicious, but I hope they return to packaging items with more care.

The service was really nice and the store is absolutely adorable and clean. We tried 6 different cupcakes to take home and overall they were good. Lemon cupcake, very yummy. The salted caramel very yummy as well with a fresh caramel filling and crunchy pretzel toppings. We had a vanilla and chocolate birthday cake which were both pretty good, the chocolate was pretty dense and heavy but had a good overall flavor. The cookie cupcake was underbaked and soggy at the bottom with a grainy frosting. It may have just been an off cupcake that day but it was one we ended up not eating and wouldn't buy again in the future. Overall, they have some nice options to choose from, their items seem well thought out and it's a very cute store and a lot of pride goes into it. The cakes are not light, they are on the denser side but they were consistent. We paid $28 for 6 cupcakes so it's definitely a treat and plan on paying for something a bit different but also understand the rising costs of everything, so it did make sense the prices were higher and we went knowing that. It gets worse... when I walked in I saw fruit flies flying around. They did what I asked as far as design wise, base color of the frosting was purple, however there was black smear on the top which should have been fixed (photo attached). Not only that, the flavor was supposed to be cookies and cream and the cake itself did not have any flavor to it. I could have baked a better cake. The buttercream frosting on the outside was very bland. I'm not sure if the other reviewers raving about how good these cakes are has actually ever had a good cake, because this was not it....
