Go for a drink, skip the food. We ate here and honestly it was terrible. We were certain that the person serving at the bar was also the cook, if so, this is more a management issue than the individual's service or performance. The "crispy" pork starter was not crispy at all with zero meat and only unrendered fat but the garnish was was very nice. The fish and chips, the fish exterior was terribly oily and the fish was extremely dry. The battered "crispy" chicken burger was not crispy either except the dry chicken unbattered ends. We are pretty sure all the food was reheated, more than likely in a microwave. I should have guessed when I saw the mens toilets has the sign missing with floors that look unwashed. One table was taken up by an employee's stuff. No sauces on the tables and we where not asked when the food (with chips) arrived. It took over 10 minutes to go to the bar, able to ask, and for it to arrive at the table. The grass was still very long outside, looked a bit like it had been closed. Positives, bar service was prompt, beer was cold. The menu looks great, and it would be, if all was cooked fresh and to a reasonable level for £55 (one starter, two mains and two beers).

The new owners seemed to have stepped up the food options and quality compared to what it was. We opted for the Bad Boy vegan burger which was really nice. Crunchy burger, and tasty fries (I upgraded to truffle fries which are good too). Food arrived in good time and we managed to get a table easily without booking. Only downside is that it's quite pricey for a pub with £6-8 on average for a starter, £16-18 for a main. Dessert was reasonable at £6.50. expect to pay around £50 for two mains, two drinks and a dessert to share, but food is good! Access was generally very good for wheelchair users, with a minor threshold at the car park entrance which I negotiated easily. We hadn't booked and were delighted that a suitable table was free for us. The two members of staff couldn't of been more helpful. The door was held open for us and both were very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the roast beef from quite a large menu. It was perfect, hot, plenty of veg, perfect yorkshires roast potatoes and proper gravy! My mother chose two starters pork belly and duck spring rolls and a side of seasonal vegetables. I came down from London to meet my sis, and we popped in here after some pub drinks. The food was absolutely first class! I did have high hopes when I saw an adjacent table being served, we were like 'wow!' looking at the quality of the dishes, and the same proved the case for our table. Perfectly cooked rigatoni; these days in London it's because trendy to do it far too al-dente, but here, chef absolutely had it right, and with a delicious, rich flavour to the mushroom sauce. We didn’t really plan ahead and soon realised that every restaurant nearby was fully booked for the next couple of hours. My favourite thing about the place is how friendly the staff are and how great they are with my child. Always made to feel welcome and they make a point of engaging with my child which we love. It's clean with easy access and space for pushchairs etc and a variety of seating options. Food is good and fairly priced. My child assures me they have the best toasted teacakes. I like that there's the option to order via QR code as well as at the bar as sometimes with children it's much easier. The place feels calm and relaxing and they appear to cater well for allergies and dietary preferences.

We had closer options but glad we decided to travel a bit further (about a 13 minute drive from central Aylesbury). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Within 12 hours my husband was violently sick and diahorrea. By Monday he was unable to get out of bed couldn't eat anything everything went through him including water. Doctor wanted to hospitalise him but he wouldn't go. He spent 10 days in bed couldn't get up and had absolutely no energy. Tests showed he had severe food poisoning. He was first put on antibiotics to try and clear it at this time they didn't know what kind of food poisoning it was. His second test showed it was campylobacter. He is now on his second set of antibiotics to treat this particular bug. It's been a whole month now. He's lost over 22 lbs all down to someone not washing hands or cooking chicken properly. I'm sorry to have to post this but apparently a few more people have had food poisoning from this establishment. Needless to say we won't be eating from here ever again 28th October update. BUCKS health dept carried out a unexpected visit to the restaurant and it retained it's 5 star hygiene rating. Everything in order. I'm being fair here!

Which again we were the only people in the restaurant and to bring 2 drinks it took over 10 minutes! We finished our plates of food and the menu said to order some specific dishes please do so at the kitchen but I presume this meant with the waiters and once again we waited and waited and nobody ever came to check on us - I had to go over after a number of failed attempts to get their attention to ask them to come to our table and take our food order. These skewers then arrived and were extremely small and to be honest very poor. A have attached an image of the beef one which you’d get more meat on a worm. By this point all I could think is what a waste of £60 this is going to be and I went and tried one more small plate of food trying some sushi which was ok and various other hot or in this case Luke warm dishes and ate some of it to then realise we simply didn’t want to be there no more as again no waiter had come to check on us yet they went to other tables. We again spent an age trying to flag down a waiter and asked them for the bill because at this point I couldn’t even be bothered to see what the desserts offered and reading 1 scoops of ice cream per person I already knew that would most likely be a let down too. The bill arrived with the cheek of a 10% service charge added which once the waiter had let us sit for a further 5 minutes or so even though there was just 4 items on the bill I asked for this be removed to which they responded they would need to speak with the manager (at this point I should have requested for the manager to come over) but in reality we was not enjoying our experience or meal and just wanted to leave so I could go get some edible food elsewhere. They returned the bill without the service so it was now the small sum of £65.35…. We paid and left and will not return or recommend unfortunately. Note to the Miya management I would provide some staff training. The staff were young teenagers and lacked the customer service and experience it seemed.

Everybody ordered a selection of food from mixed kebabs l, lamb chops, beyti kebab steak and mixed grills. Food was cooked beautiful, everything was fresh and you could see the food being cooked. We went here for dinner, and they started off by bringing us a complementary basket of bread and hummus. I’ve had 1 bad experience where I ordered for takeaway and received half of the portion. On my most recent visit I advised of the experience last time and was told they probably hadn’t had a delivery so had run out of the food last time. Only thing we found a bit odd was having to pay for parking when you’re already a guest, especially since it’s right off the highway and obviously most people are driving in. We ordered two pizzas, a steak pie, club sandwich and a mixed grill- no drinks and it came to over £100. You don’t mind paying for the convenience of the restaurant and if the food was good but it wasn’t particularly great. No real concerns like undercooked food or anything it just wasn’t worth the money: the pizzas were okay, the mixed grill was okay but I would avoid the pie- the pie itself was okay but the mash was pretty bland, the veg I think tasted microwaved and the gravy was pretty bland bisto - definitely not worth the £18 price tag. Overall the hotel was lovely and facilitating, the staff were great and the rooms were very nice for a holiday inn or for any hotel really but I would recommend avoiding the restaurant it’s just very overpriced - if possible go somewhere local if not just get a takeaway and bring it back (if you’d rather the convenience of the in house restaurant it will be very expensive and not the best quality, but it does the job) apart from that, the breakfast was nice (very good continental selection plus the full English was solid )

The setting is lovely, with a nice wood burner and a friendly atmosphere. The staff were friendly, although clearly very, very busy. We ordered the corgette, pea and mint soup to start. This one's on me as I didn't address it when I was there but the steak itself was really disappointing. The house salad was 80% lettuce and the chips were cold, and almost definitely not triple cooked We had been tempted back in by a 40% off mains offer, but left very disappointed. This used to be somewhere you could go for good food that wasn't hugely expensive, but it's really been let down by being poorly maintained over time and standards, particularly around the quality of the meat and the presentation of food have slipped

We held our wake there for our dear mum, after recommendation from the funeral directors (Heritage & Sons, Wendover, also excellent). At every step, the Firecrest team were kind, helpful, calm and reassuring, and they gave us plenty of time to finalise numbers and specification (food, refreshments etc.). In advance, we were very happy to see ample parking space, a weight off our minds. The pub is beautiful outside and within, absolutely full of characterful furnishings, and I particularly loved the fascinating variety of art and photos. Me and my partner went today as we was in aylesbury shopping. On first entry we were welcomed by a gentleman and seated very quietly and he took our drinks orders. Our drinks were brought to us by our waitress Ella who was full of smiles and very polite and professional. We asked for water for the table but this was not brought to us so we asked again and still the water never arrived. We did not ask again. Beautiful deco in this building and loads of caricature. Ella then took out food orders and answered any questions we had. The starters. arrived quickly and were well presented and tasty, we both were very happy with our choice. Main course. Once our food was prepared it sat on the hot shelf for about 5 minutes before it was given to us. Food again very well presented and tasty. Only downside to the meal was my chips were cold from sitting on the side, my partners broccoli was not edible as it was very twiggy and burnt. Ella did offer an alternative for the broccoli but we was happy to just not eat it. Apart from that the food was good and a great price. This experience could have been very good but me and my partner both felt that the place could do with a good clean as it had only been open for 1.5hrs and there was food on the seats, floors from the previous day and this was not just where we had been seated as I had a walk around. The shelves on the backrests are dusty and need a clean. Seats had drink spill marks down them. I would completely understand if this was halfway through there day and it had been busy but that was not the case and I believe it just had not been hovered and cleaned from the day before. The food itself was clearly freshly prepared as it was made with our requests in mind - most Indian restaurants will prepare the sauces in advance so spice levels etc cannot be changed however Mela clearly pride themselves on making everything to order. The only thing letting the food down was the flavour and it was evident that it must come from the heat/chilli as we asked for all food to be made mild. It was edible but unfortunately rather bland and missing a lot of the spices that add flavour rather than heat. Being Indian myself I may have unknowingly had higher expectations but I believe the flavours have been muted down and this really has the potential to be 5 stars if they give the food a little more oomph without compromising on the heat.

The staff are friendly and extremely accommodating. We had an issue with one of our orders, and the general manager Dwayne personally committed to sorting out our problem on a different day outside of his working pattern. I have eaten there a couple of times and the staff are always friendly. I ordered from there last weekend and the food arrived fresh and hot which was perfect. I always like to go with the same things from here but that's not a problem when it is always the same delicious food every time. The restaurant also allows customers to bring their own booze.
