Restaurant area looks very nice as you walk in with large wood fired pizza oven in view on arrival and the smell of log fires and pizza was lovely. Choose a sharing starter which was very nice the moat house facaca bread is lovely. We choose different main meals and as much as they were very well presented and nice tasting, we both found them very salty. It could have just been on the day or the chef in the kitchen however if your not a big salt lover I'd choose a pizza next time. It wasn't enough to cause a fuss over with the staff and the bill was paid in full, just a note to bear in mind.

The Roebuck is on a busy main road, but I was not disturbed by traffic or pub noise. I didn’t eat there this visit but would have done as the menu and reviews are very encouraging. Overall a very pleasant stay, thank you.

Poor quality shower, with low pressure. Old mattress, with next to no back support. No staff available to offer included breakfast, even by 10am, which also affected other guests. Out of hour numbers went straight to voicemail. Unclear instructions how to check out, other than leave the key on the bar area. General internal layout of hotel area was tired and needs updating. No soundproofing in the bedrooms, can easily hear other inconsiderate inhabitants/TVs through the floors which really affected our sleep. Bar was closed by 9pm, even though the sign outside says open until late. No information pack was in the room, for emergencies, wifi etc. This is easily the worst property I have ever stayed in.

Not been for over 40 years so was keen to try it. Sat in the pretty courtyard at the rear of the pub. The interior of the pub was a mix of bar area of olde worlde charm & wood flooring with a lovely lounge area to one side with sofas that looked very inviting. The menu is good selection of basic pub grub but all home made produce & reasonably priced. We all had the lasagne, 1 beef & 2 vegetable served with a crisp mixed salad & coleslaw plus bowls of chips & garlic mayonnaise. All piping hot. Simply the best lasagne I've had in a long while & the chips are divine. Best in Alcester! Lovely friendly staff being the icing on the cake. Highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for good food & prices. Would suggest the staff make an effort to produce a good website as, being a fussy eater & vegetarian, I never usually visit a place unless I can study the menu and prices beforehand.

So at random we met at this friendly pub. We had the vegetarian breakfast that was amazing and the kind lady that served us and kept us watered was a lovely host. Sadly we live just outside Edinburgh but we normally stop off in Alcester on the journey down to my in-laws. This in turn means we can visit the Cardamom and it never disappoints, the food is always delicious and decent portions too. We went here on the 4/11 and have to say we had a great greeting from the landlord we asked if he was serving food which he was. We were shown a table. We stopped for lunch to break our journey from Cambs to Glos having researched the Good Beer Guide and perused the menu. We booked ahead, explaining that we needed a table with space for a large greyhound. Everything about our experience was first class: the home cooked food was as good if not better than many Michelin rated venues we have been to. We had devilled kidneys, beef Wellington and an Oktoberfest beef special which were superb, and couldn't help but notice other dishes being served that looked equally appetising. I asked the man and they said that they could make any curry vegetarian which was great, so I ordered a vegetable pathia, saag paneer, peshwari rice and naan bread for takeaway. They gave me free poppadoms too. Got home and it was a chicken curry. The saag paneer was very watery and the poppadoms were soaked in oil and inedible. There were hard bits in the rice, I think lumps of solid sugar. The naan bread was good but I won’t be going back.
