The restaurant was intimate & warm. The service was friendly & quick as we only had a short time to have lunch. We overlooked a farmers market in the square beside the restaurant which was picturesque. Lunch was delicious. The starter home made bread with balsamic & oil was delightful. When I went to school in Kingston my family and I would go to eat here every chance we got. Now that I've left Kingston I still find every chance I can to come and eat at Olivea. In particular I absolutely adore the caeser salad, the carpaccio, the spicy aglio olio with steak and their cosmopolitan! The ambiance inside this restaurant is perfectly curated, with the comfiest seats I've seen and a million different beautiful things to look at while you dine. I will forever rave about this restaurant and suggest it to anyone who will listen. Not to mention I always enjoy the service that I receive no matter the occasion. We could smell the delicious aroma of this restaurant next door to the pick up spot. When we ended the trolley tour, our guide said the food was great. We had intended to go to a different place but decided to try this out instead. Boy are we glad we did!! The decor is beautiful and cozy. The margaritas were some of the best we’ve ever had. The calamari was so light and refreshing. Nothing like America calamari! The oysters were delicious and we LOVED fresh grated horseradish. We all got the fish and chips and it did not disappoint! We were excited to see it was gluten free. The servers were all pleasant and gave us tips on other places to go tomorrow. We booked a reservation last minute and there was only a spot at the bar area, no problem. Sat us at a table we didn’t care for and asked to move to a different table in that area, no problem. However the majority of the fish was so dry (pic included you can see almost in the center no batter and the meat under is dried out) at majority time couldn't be chewed or felt like you we eating bones. To top it off there was no lemon or salt n pepper in with the order but I did get vinegar, both white and malt, seafood sauce, tartar sauce, ... So the service is awesome and the people are sweet, location is lovely but as for quality, quantity and price even though seafood is expensive was high

We were visiting from out of town and weren't sure what it would be like. There are a surprising number of dining rooms tucked away in the building. The service was very friendly. Our family felt welcomed. The food took quite a long time to come out. Our server did acknowledge and proactively apologize. Not sure if that's something that happens at Heist. We were here for dinner on a Sunday night of May long weekend. Finally, the food was good. None of the dishes blew us away, but you're getting quality food that's been carefully prepared. A couple of things we noticed: 1) the kale and beet salad had a strong spice to it (cumin?). Couldn't put our finger on it, but depending on your preference, it could either be a delightful surprise or something that doesn't pay off. 2) the ahi tuna appetizer had corn nuts. Interesting choice, but not sure if it lands. Otherwise, loved the rigatoni alla vodka (everyone who had a taste agreed it was excellent). The bolognese was possibly just a little heavy on meat for our taste preference. The pizza dough had a nice chew (good job). And the branzino was good. The chocolate mousse dessert was quite decadent. The salt flakes were a very nice touch. All in all, good food, classy and friendly staff, and nice ambiance.
