The restaurant was intimate & warm. The service was friendly & quick as we only had a short time to have lunch. We overlooked a farmers market in the square beside the restaurant which was picturesque. Lunch was delicious. The starter home made bread with balsamic & oil was delightful. When I went to school in Kingston my family and I would go to eat here every chance we got. Now that I've left Kingston I still find every chance I can to come and eat at Olivea. In particular I absolutely adore the caeser salad, the carpaccio, the spicy aglio olio with steak and their cosmopolitan! The ambiance inside this restaurant is perfectly curated, with the comfiest seats I've seen and a million different beautiful things to look at while you dine. We could smell the delicious aroma of this restaurant next door to the pick up spot. When we ended the trolley tour, our guide said the food was great. We had intended to go to a different place but decided to try this out instead. Boy are we glad we did!! The decor is beautiful and cozy. The margaritas were some of the best we’ve ever had. The calamari was so light and refreshing. Nothing like America calamari! The oysters were delicious and we LOVED fresh grated horseradish. We all got the fish and chips and it did not disappoint! We were excited to see it was gluten free. The servers were all pleasant and gave us tips on other places to go tomorrow. They were able to accommodate us despite having a lot of incoming reservations due to the Christmas parade. Highly recommend!

We got the mini banana cream pie and cake pops as our treat, and some iced drinks. I have to say that the banana cream pie was one of the best I’ve ever had. The pizzas are the star of the show. I made my own this time with smoked muzz, onion, and mushroom, and it was fantastic. My wife had prosciutto and arugula. It's a bit loud inside, not because the music is too loud, but just from so many people talking in a small space. It didn't dampen our visit at all, but if youre looking for a quiet dinner out, this might not be the place for you. Scallops with polenta was a very well designed, coherent dinner dish, and was absolutely perfectly executed. Checked all the boxes. But I would prefer to have the service to speed up a bit as food was cool already by time it get to the table... Not sure if it is the style of this place. Initially confused patio for margaritaville but they very kindly explained to us where it is located. There is complimentary chips and salsa which are decent in quality. There was a bit of a wait between ordering and apps but it was a busy night. Mozzarella squares were hot and freshly breaded, with a light ranch sauce. They were the best mozzarella squares i have ever had. The anojitos were also very good; stuffed with cream cheese. Waitress came to check on us during apps which I have never seen before. Usually I’m only checked on during mains. Very courteous and hospitable. The drinks were also very good. Tried the Lone Star Lime Margarita; very tangy and not too sweet. Would order again. Got a smash burger with seasonal vegetables. Broccoli was very buttery and tasted fresh to me at least. Was cooked exactly how I like my broccoli. My burger however was interesting to say the least. It was as juicy and cheesy as I would have hoped, with some crispy cheese “leather” at the edges. However, I am sad to report that the burger was not a true smash burger. A true smash burger is smashed thinner than that at lone star grill, with lattices at the edges. We booked a reservation last minute and there was only a spot at the bar area, no problem. Sat us at a table we didn’t care for and asked to move to a different table in that area, no problem. Just as we sat they asked if we minded moving to a third spot as they promised the spot we were in to an elderly couple, again not a problem. The appreciation we felt from all of the staff, including the front end manager and our server was unbelievable. We were treated like royalty and really felt appreciated. It honestly made our night. The waitress informed me AGAIN there was no chocolate soft serve ice cream left, which is supposed to be in their banana split, along with the vanilla. I said no problem and ordered it. When she brought the two desserts to the table the ice cream was already melting and looked sloppy. I immediately noticed there was no middle topping— the pineapple bits. I went to the counter and told them they forgot the pineapple. Her and another gentleman told me they didn’t have any because the batch they made was no good ?! I asked why they would not inform me of that when I ordered it, as I would have picked something else. They had no answer and asked if I still wanted it. However, the restaurants allow you to pack the stuff. We were given hot refreshing towels too . Coming to the food , since we had ordered tandoori fish it was a long wait for us to eat after we ordered. The manager saw that and offered us fritters while we waited for our food to order .it was a nice gesture . We ate tandoori fish , mutton Rogan josh, chicken butter masala , naan , dal makhani and peas pulao . Taste was good , a little less spicy ( if you prefer spicy Indian food , let them know ) to suit everyone’s taste pallet. Overall a wonderful dining experience !

While drinks and food get four stars for flavour, service gets a very low grade. We were a group of four people and ordered drinks and one fondue only. While the drinks came out fairly quickly, the person delivering them to our table was not the original server and there was some confusion initially when we received an incorrect order. The drinks were delicious (cafe latte, mocha, double chocolate hot chocolate, espresso) and we did enjoy them. Unfortunately, while the fondue tasted great - we ordered the peanut butter and chocolate - it finally came only after we had already finished our drinks. We would have enjoyed it more if it didn't take 40 minutes to be delivered to our table. While we were taking shelter from the rain and in no rush to leave, it certainly took much longer than expected and, if we were in a rush, we would certainly have cancelled and left. As we never saw our initial server again, we had to make our way to the front of the store to request to pay our bill. Considering the much better service at the Ottawa location, the visit to the location in Kingston will be a one-time occurrence only.

My friends and I got the saganaki, calamari and olives to share. It was so delicious. The calamari is entire pieces of tender squid, not the little rings and tentacles other places might give. It was fantastic. I had the bifteka for dinner and it was good, although a bit salty and maybe broiled for a minute too long. The tomatoey gravy that came with the bifteka was really delicious. The Greek salad is fantastic, a nice balance of cucumber, tomato and a fantastic dressing on lettuce. Portions were decently sized. The server was attentive and refilled our water constantly. The lemon tiramisu was a refreshing and delicious take on the cake, and a rather very pleasant surprise. After too many tiramisus at too many Italian restaurants, this one stands out as truly memorable and, quite literally, worth writing about.
