Beneath the shade, patio umbrellas marked with restaurant names created a laid-back environment where people could enjoy food, drinks, and good conversation.As I walked deeper into the Stockyards, I couldn’t help but admire the rustic charm of the Second Rodeo Brewing Co.. The huge brewing tanks, red-brick walls, and open-air alleyway with cobblestone flooring gave the place an industrial yet authentic Texas feel. It felt like history had been carefully preserved while still being adapted into a modern hangout spot.The sculptures and artwork scattered throughout the Stockyards added another layer of charm. The life-sized horse statues stood proudly, reminding visitors of the cowboy and ranching roots of Fort Worth. As a destination, it's a very cool place. The buildings and atmosphere are truly amazing. The restaurants are great, and the buildings really look the part. But things are quite touristy; only a few shops have authentic feel to the western goods they sell. Most are of the t-shirts and trinkets variety, although there are boots galore and a fair array of hats for sale, and the tiniest bit of tack. One excellent furniture store. Terrific place to see urban "woo!" girls in shorts and boots falling out of their tops; it's easy to imagine this is a Bachelorette destination. Pricing varies from cheap tourist trash to woah, pardner, I left the Platinum card in my other pants. If like to have seen more local craftsmen but I think that's true for me everywhere I go. $30 to park ensures you don't just drop in for an hour, the place is a commitment best spread over the chunk of a day. Glad we went, hope my son takes his family some day, not sure I'll be back for a couple of decades but sure enjoyed it once.

As someone who lived in Fort Worth, the Stockyards isn’t my go-to place to hang out, but if you’re visiting or looking for something unique, I cannot recommend it more! First, of course, the history is so interesting and the area is such a good representation of the Western/Texan style while being modernized. It is largely a shopping center with bars and restaurants. If you’re visiting Fort Worth, DEFINITELY take some hours to explore! There’s some good food, Texan-owned businesses, fun stores to check out, unique bars, and more! Definitely spend some time on the street to check out the longhorns and enjoy the people watching! Definitely stop into Billybob’s! Enjoy!

It is. Great experience for everyone to experience and enjoy. From food, vive, music and fun. From the simple shops, hats, boots, crafts, cattle drive and rodeo in the coliseum. Cobbled stone streets and festival grounds to walk and dance boot plus great restaurants and bars. Parking is plenty but pay about $25 but there are off streets options if you do not mind walking up the block and down.

Well worth the visit! Lots of shopping and plenty of great restaurants to choose from. We had lunch at Provender Hall. Sat upstairs (you have to be able to climb the stairs.) Great atmosphere, awesome service, and outstanding. Parking can be a challenge. There is valet parking available throughout the area. Free parking is available, and it fills up fast.

Historical area kept in good condition. Rodeos, tours, BBQ, western wear, mounted drovers in period attire, and a small herd of longhorn cattle driven along the route 2x a day. Worth bringing visitors from out of state or from out of the country, to watch. I was surprised to see western celebrities' stars in the sidewalk (like on Hollywood Blvd). Actors, authors, singers, and Texas Rangers. Quite an experience. We'll be back to see more.

The Fort Worth Zoo is honestly one of the best zoos I’ve been to in Texas. The layout is super easy to follow, there’s a ton of animals, and the elephant exhibit really stood out, it’s probably the most well-designed one I’ve seen. You can get really close, and they have so much room to roam. There is a lot of walking though, so definitely wear comfy shoes. The good news is, most of the paths are shaded, and there are plenty of spots to sit, grab drinks, or get snacks. They even have misters set up in a few spots, which felt amazing in the heat. I went on a Friday around 10am, and it wasn’t crowded at all. Parking was super easy, just $5, and the lot is huge. Getting in was quick, and everyone working there was really nice. I liked that they mixed indoor and outdoor exhibits, so it felt comfortable the whole time. We didn’t ride the little zoo train, but you could hear it going by, which added a fun touch. Food-wise, there were a few chains and a café, nothing fancy, but decent for grabbing a bite. The only bummer was the ice cream shop was closed when we went. The splash pad was a nice surprise too. It’s small, but perfect for kids to cool off, and there are tables and chairs around it so parents can sit back and relax. Overall, the Fort Worth Zoo is definitely worth a visit. It’s fun, affordable, and there’s something for everyone.

Wow this zoo was amazing and clean, we spent 5 hours walking around looking at all the animals. Very well kept and maintained. Food choices are okay and prices are good. Loved seeing how many animals were out. Price for admission is right on in my opinion. There is plenty of shade and lots of places to sit and relax along the way.

I have been to zoos across America and this by far is the best I’ve been to. Clean, thoughtfully laid out with misting and covered areas that blend in with the environment for you to view the animals. The food was really good and not expensive. So many options also. Now let’s talk animals. Other zoos I’ve been to have their animals in small spaces and you can tell they’re under distress. The animals here are vibrant and healthy! They are so fun to watch. The babies are adorable 🥰 My son and I had the best time here yesterday. I live 2 hours away but am going to get a membership because it’s just that great of a place. Well done to the owners!

This zoo is worth visiting. It has a lot to offer. The theming throughout the zoo makes it really nice. It is clean with lots of paths and lots of plants. We live in Dallas, but it is really worth the drive all the way across time. We really enjoyed the barn play area as well. It has a nice slide and lots of entertaining activities. One thing to keep in mind is that if you go on the weekend parking is absolutely crazy. We actually parked outside the zoo and walked to the zoo. We will definitely be back soon

As someone who hasn't been to the zoo or aquarium in decades this was a fun experience to be able to visit. Much better zoo than the Los Angeles zoo I went to when I was a kid not knocking the other one. Great prices for food and entry very shaded almost didn't need sunblock. Bring your kids bring your wife Heck bring your girlfriend just not both at the same time it'll be fun.

The Fort Worth Zoo is one of the best zoos we have been to. We were very impressed with the enclosures and habitats the animals have. The facility is clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly. Not the biggest zoo I have been to but it is always a great experience. They have a wide variety of animals with great themed exhibits. For the kids you have a petting zoo, train ride, carousal, and can feed the giraffes. Every time I go my kids and I have a ton of fun. The average time is spend there is 3 to 5 hours. I would definitely recommend it the families or people who love seeing animals.

Visited this zoo today as part of a big group including myself, my wife and daughter along with our friends and their children. This place is huge, boasting a wide variety of land, sea and flying animals. It took us almost 4 hours to see everything and it was worth it for the price we paid. We arrived one hour after the opening on a Saturday and the parking situation was good. The parking fee was not bad ($5) and we were able to park not too far from the entrance. Once we got inside, the signs were easy to follow. The surroundings were clean and this zoo did a good job of taking care of the animals based on what we saw. There were plenty of space for them to roam. It was a good learning experience for our kids and us parents. This is only the second zoo we ever been to in Texas. The other one is in San Antonio. We love both.

The Kimbell Museum in Fort Worth made a strong impression on me. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, and it makes you want to stay longer and simply enjoy the art. Went for the Myth and Marble rotating exhibit. Also, walked around to see their permanent art collections. Overall, very nice and interesting. Lots of French artists but still some good variety. Preferred the sculptures and pottery over the paintings. Definitely a fun and quick thing to do on an outing. May not recommend bringing young children as the museum staff enforce “quiet and pleasant” atmosphere. Also, not allowed to get too close to each piece not all are roped off with preferred distance for viewing but there is quite a bit of staff stationed in each area. Myth and Marble exhibit was interesting but not as good as I was expecting. A lot of statues not in their original design or were renovated with modern materials to reflect the idea of what it would have looked like when first being made.

We were a group of 5 and visited the Fort Worth Water Gardens on a Friday night. We really loved it! It’s a simple place, not too much to explore, but peaceful and calming. You can enjoy the view from the top or walk down the steps to hear the sound of the water. Sometimes, all you need is a quiet and relaxing spot and this place is perfect for that. Street parking is free after 6 PM on weekends, but on regular days, it's paid.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens are a unique spot with some stunning features, like the beautiful trees, striking rock wall “mountains,” and the impressive fountains. The active water features are mesmerizing to watch and really set the gardens apart. That said, it can get pretty crowded, which makes it harder to fully enjoy the space, and there’s a bit of an odor near the first pool when you walk down the steps. The gardens can also feel a little less inviting at night, as there are often homeless individuals around. Overall, it’s worth visiting during the day to appreciate the fountains, design, and natural beauty.

It is absolutely beautiful but a good portion of the fountain was not working. You can you see my pictures a lot of the white portions are just staining on the rocks not actual water coming down. Kind of ruined the aesthetic. :/ hopefully they get it fixed soon because it is a very relaxing and calming environment. They don't want you climbing on all of the features that don't have water, even though it's impossible to keep kids off, of but the portion with a scary descent with no handrails into the water feature is encouraged. I’ve only been here once before, years ago, and decided to stop by again while showing friends around Fort Worth. It’s still such a cool and peaceful spot right in the middle of the city. A few of the water features weren’t working this time, which was kind of a bummer, but it’s still worth a quick visit. You can walk through and see everything in about 20 minutes. Definitely a unique place to bring out-of-town guests or just take a little break from the city noise.

We had planned to go there many days ago, but couldn't manage our time. Finally, when we did visit, the mesmerizing view of the fantastic water garden was a source of mental peace. This is one of my favorite spots in Fort Worth! It is absolutely stunning. I have been to quote a few Japanese Garden in USA, the again is the best! The Japanese garden is well designed in a large part of Fort Worth Botanical Garden. It shows how the architects care and respect Japanese gardens. Beautiful buildings are also in there. I went there when it is all green but I can see lot of maple trees. I imagine that when it is late November, the park will even be more stunning! I saw someone has a wedding in the park that day, what a great choice!

Absolutely incredible place to visit. The Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens are worth the trip. We didn't get to cover half of the property but spent a solid 3 hours on the first half. Bring water and snacks and plan to spend some time exploring. It has something for all ages and overall just a wonderful place. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful and refreshing gardens. We went while they had the musical swings, which were so fun! They’re taking them out December 7th, so definitely visit before! We love this place! It’s our favorite place to go on family walks. Right now they have the musical swings which are fun for any age! I love how we can feed the giant fishes and see all the gorgeous plants. Every time we come there is something new to see! This time of year beware you might see some creepy crawlers. A great place to go when you have a family gathering and you want to do some special activities outdoors or just pack a lunch and go sit on the nice big lawn and watch all the beautiful insects go by sometimes butterflies but definitely fall is not the best place here unless you like the Christmas lights for the Christmas light show. I use the gardens when they were in full bloom for weddings in June and I've attached one that I did long time ago but it gives you an idea just how pretty the place is when it's full of color.

Awesome place to visit and learn about the American "greenbacks." Cameras are not allowed during the tour, so the memories are all that remain after the tour, and a few handouts. The place is fascinating, though, and worth the time.

Excellent trip. We loved the experience of seeing how the bills are made. After coming here, I can say that I've been to both US mints. This one and the DC mint are excellent at showcasing how they operate in a safe manner. The amount of security was insane, but I know. They need it. *Be prepared to have nothing with you other than a wallet. Smart watches, phones, cameras, knives/other weapons. Nothing other than money can pass the front entry building.

Went to the Bureau of Engraving & Printing (BEP), and enjoyed every bit of it! Leave your phones, cameras, and smart watches in your car. As those items are prohibited from entering the museum. The Bureau’s place for tourists is free and free parking as well. The tour will take approximately an hour to two hours, because of how informative the place is. You will have to go through security, then be taken to the bureau’s tourist place, and that’s where the magic begins! You will get to see how the U.S. currency is processed, watch a movie on the money making, get to see a spider money making process, and get to see different procedures that the U.S. currency goes through before it heads to the Federal Reserve bank. Best governmental place to visit and soak in all the information and reality of money making. This place had a lot of information, that I will probably return because of how much I enjoyed it and because of how much wealth of information is being given to you. There is a gift shop that is undergoing renovation and that will get more gift shop items in the near future.

Great place to spend a few hours! Learned so much about the printing of money. They have a self guided recorded type of tour. Not anything exciting but with the recording you can know where to watch as they print the money and check for errors. No photos or recording devices allowed inside. Not even a smart watch! If shows like "How it works?" appeal to you, you'll like this. There are two main attractions here. First is the 'money factory', where they manufacture money at large scale and they detail the elaborate things they have to do to make it very difficult to copy it. The second attraction is the museum where the history of money is chronicled. Both were interesting enough to hold teen attention. It's hard to ignore pallets with hundreds of millions of dollars right in front of you. The tour is done at your own pace without a human guide with an electronic playback device you hold at your ear that plays recordings at the various viewing windows. There's also a gift shop where there are seemingly only two things to buy: Sheets of uncut money and shredded money. I was expecting the uncut money sheets to be more than their face value, however, they run roughly 2x the price. Since pulling individual sheets is an exception to the regular production, I expected a 20% mark up. But not 100%. That was really the only detractor. All in all, a unique experience with no entry fee.

Kids really enjoyed it. Ages 6,7,11,12. They had a place for the littles to do hands on activities and a place for the older ones to do hands on activities. They enjoyed those the most. It is much like the Perot Museum in Dallas but with different stuff. If you go to the planetarium, included with ticket, sit opposite of the doors. Otherwise you will be looking over your shoulder.

I was a bit disappointed by this museum. Coming from Albuquerque, NM I guess perhaps I had a different expectation of what a "Science and History" museum should be. Our Natural History museum has exhibits on dinosaurs - which was similar but had less specimens, but also much about the history piece, geology, what the area was like when the dinosaurs were living there. But the FW museum felt more like a museum with an agenda. Rather than explain the why around dinosaurs, it had Texas's 2 main (and somewhat controversial) exported resources and history around them. Also the energy piece was out of date.

Recently the speedway has been playing movies to raise funds for Kerr. They ask for a $20 donation. I was there for How to Train your Dragon and the F1 movie. I think this is a phenomenal idea that they need to keep doing! The last time I was there, they sold Andy’s custard. They were practically almost out of all of their ice cream by the end of the night. Next time it would be cool if they invited more food trucks! I really hope the speedway keeps this up! As a faculty member at Tarleton State University, I brought a group of Sport Management majors to the Texas Motor Speedway expecting an educational and engaging experience. Unfortunately, the visit was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The staff we encountered were unwelcoming and appeared disinterested, giving the impression that our presence was an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to showcase their facility to future sport industry professionals. They said there were too many events going on to accommodate us, but there wasn’t. And if so, why book us?? The tour itself was poorly organized — it started late, lasted less than 30 minutes, and consisted mostly of looking through a window at the track. We were not permitted to walk on the track or meaningfully engage with any behind-the-scenes operations. They didn’t talk us through anything other than the basic google questions. Considering the cost and the reputation of the venue, the experience fell far short of expectations. The facilities and presentation felt outdated, and there was little to no educational value offered. As an educator, it was disheartening to see such a missed opportunity to inspire students and demonstrate effective sport facility management. Overall, it was not worth the time or resources and unfortunately served as an example of what not to do when hosting academic or professional groups. I gave it one star because zero isn’t an option.

Went for the NASCAR races. I thought it would have been chaos but was pleseantly surprised. We were there 2 hrs prior to racetime and were able to park for FREE very close to our gate. Was able to bring in our food/drinks but they had some great concessions and we spent money on a large selection of shirts and other items. I recommend good ear protection for racing. We were in seats and they were fairly comfy and in the shade. Getting out was obviously slower but traffic flowed well. Officers were directing traffic. The only thing I didn't like and it's not venue related is that police had shut down the road we needed to get to. We had to route to i35 to i30 to get to our destination instead of going east then south.

We finally made it out to the museum after years of saying "we really need to check that out someday". So glad we went! We're both huge old west and Tombstone junkies and this museum is absolutely incredible! If you love seeing munitions from years past, actual clothing work by the soldiers, including Ulysses S Grant's jacket, and dresses from the 1860s through the 1890s, you owe it to yourself to go before this amazing place closes for good! This is a huge treasure in our own back yard and a must experience for all. They even had a band in period clothing playing instruments from the day and singing songs you would have heard at gatherings way back when! Do yourself a favor and make a point to take the short drive to White Settlement right off 820 at exit 5A (don't remember the street name lol) and test yourself to a piece of Texas history you'll probably never have the opportunity (especially for just $12) to see again! Go go go!

Considering that the museum is not funded by taxpayer's money, the diverse collection of artifacts from both sides is astonishing. Note that the museum will close permanently after October. Unlike most museums of its kind, the story of the war is told from the perspective of the rebels. The presentation is very organized, from introduction to how the tension brew before the war, branches of the military (infantry, cavalry and navy), to more focused battles fought by the Texans. Most artifacts were uniforms, weaponry and personal items of ordinary soldiers and officers. Learning about water mines and cannon balls is not something I expected from the visit. You can certainly appreciate the museum more if you have been to the national military park in Chattanooga because of the military figures and artifacts related to the battles in the region. The only complaint I have is the introductory movie. It is not a subject of debate that the Texan soldiers fought gallantly, but glorifying their participation in the war is beyond comprehension. They belong to a rebellious force to begin with, let alone nonsense such as 'answering the call to the country' and 'defending state right and constitution'. It is sad that ordinary men had to fight and die for the personal interest of the privileged (the relationship between Southern economy and slavery). Toward the end of visit you will find two impressive art pieces comprising numerous miniature figures depicting the battles fought on Texas soil near the end of war. Admission includes the section of Victorian dresses too.

Was neat to see all the authentic artifacts and history of our country. They did offer Union and Confederate history. I loved the miniature battle displays. They are very detailed. The tools the Doctors used was barbaric. There was a section about amputation. Then to end it all was a walk through of women's dresses and gowns for 40 years. My wife and I have driven past this museum for the past 3 years we have lived in the area and today we finally decided to visit. We were able to quickly buy tickets and enter the gallery. It was amazing how much historic memorabilia they have on display. The museum is separated with the North on the left and South on the right. Some of the highlights are a cigar smoked by US Grant and a pocket knife owned by General Lee. There are detailed explanations for every artifact and it was very informative. Even my wife, who is not a huge history buff had a great time. The end of the museum contains a gallery of historic dresses that could be their own museum. We were only there of about an hour, but could have spent much more time there. It is definitely worth taking the time to visit.

Our first time visiting and we loved it. We spent about 4 hours here. Everything is very well taken care of and clean. I highly recommend reading everything about the artifacts, they’re so cool. My favorite was the medical equipment they used to use for amputation, etc. please research their business hours before heading over. Mind blown! this place is wonderful. A great place to get exercise and get beautiful pictures. If I lived here I'd be getting a season pass to walk here. We went through most of the gardens. It was all so beautiful. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in fall! You can buy food to feed the koi. There's a ton of them all over. The maps throughout the park need a *you are here sticker because it was a little difficult to read the map. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and I sure have seen some changes. From structure collapses to historic plants dying off, the Fort Worth Japanese Gardens never ceases to build back even more beautiful than before. Its very evident that the gardeners are masters at cultivating a Japanese environment as authentic as Texas will allow. I'm always surprised at the changes, even though I visit fairly often. What a cool place of Western Film History. I was just doing a morning walk in downtown Fort Worth and stumbled upon this museum. Not only is admission free but the staff is very kind and knowledgeable about all of the paintings and their historical ties to Hollywood. A small and compact museum of Western Art that still holds quite a bit of character with numerous paintings that carry a wide variety of different emotions. Admissions is free, staff is polite, and the atmosphere is calming as the museum is not overly busy. Equally as interesting is the history of the museum as it was founded by a sort of successful Texan oil executive. A great quick visit!

An unexpected surprise while walking down town Fort Worth. The museum is generously FREE and features iconic art and sculptures, particularly from Frederic Remington as Sid Richardson was a prominent collector. The museum is excellently managed with friendly staff and worth a visit even if you are not an art fan.

Small museum but a great collection of Remington and Russell works! Bibi was so helpful, telling us all about the artists and even taking the time to look up the answer to a specific question I had about them. We were told that the museum displays about one-third of Richardson’s collection at any given time and rotates pieces every year so it would be worth visiting again. I did notice, as others mentioned, that you could hear the security cameras moving as we walked through the exhibit. I understand the need for security with such valuable artwork, but the noise was a bit distracting from the overall experience and somewhat unnerving. Perhaps some quieter cameras? 😊 All in all, I would highly recommend visiting this museum, and you can’t beat the free admission!

Great museum! The museum is clean, well-lit, and arranged nicely with a lot of great exhibits about different aspects of cowgirls from Annie Oakley to Reba McEntire. They're are a couple interactive things - a mechanical horse for kids, and one for adults too, and a touchscreen display to design your own horse & boots. It's not a very large place, but that means it's perfect for an hour or two visit. Also, the lady at the front desk was super nice and told us a little about the Escaramuzas Charras exhibit they had going on, which was wonderful to see.

Very well maintained and aesthetically pleasing museum with lots of interactive displays. The kids enjoyed all of the history of women and their roles on horsemanship, etc. They have a great collection of items on display, and we loved the art displays too. The kids enjoyed creating and designing their own boots and jackets with the interactive setup. They do have a lot of construction outside to expand but we did not have any problems parking on a weekday.

Looking for a place to get out of the Texas heat and learn about some wonderful Cowgirls in history, then this is a must! It’s located directly across the Dickies Arena so we went the day after our concert. The staff were friendly, some exhibits were interactive, and there was something for all age groups. We learned about Annie Oakley, the King Ranch brand “HK” was the ranches first brand for Henrietta King and how amazing she was. Definitely recommend!

Ok we absolutely adored this museum!! They have some gorgeous exhibits and even some interactive ones!!! It’s located right next to the Fort Worth Science & History Museum and Omni Theater so you can park and easily visit all three!

What an amazing place! I liked the touring exhibit a whole lot and the regular pieces that are on display are fantastic too. I love the saddles and the backstories of all the women. I can't wait to watch this grow! And grow!!

Nice campus. Good professors. Do not apply to graduate programs if you have family obligations that may require you to drop out. You will be directed to reapply. Then you may not even be invited for an interview. You may watch former classmates graduate while you receive a form rejection letter to the program in which you were once enrolled.
