Visited the Aberdeen Maritime Museum on a quiet Monday afternoon and had a truly enjoyable experience. The receptionist was incredibly warm and welcoming, setting a positive tone for the visit. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, blending the city’s rich maritime heritage with fascinating displays that appeal to all ages. It’s a gem tucked in the heart of Aberdeen and a perfect way to spend a few reflective hours. Entry is free which is amazing for what you get, but I do encourage visitors to donate 💰 if they can to support the continued care and presentation of this beautiful museum. You may have to wait a tiny little queue if it’s a busy day, staff are always ready to help on each floor with a smile. They have pamphlets for non-English speakers, so no excuse for you not to go. It is accessible for all abilities as long as there is an assigned carer to assist throughout your visit. This is one of the places you want to bring children and young adults to see what history and beauty this place holds and preserves. Highly recommend! ✨✨ Titi ❤️
I really enjoyed my visit to the museum. It was a great way to learn about not only maritime facts such as oil rigs and ships but also Aberdeen history. All the displays were done with great care and the exhibitions were very informative. The view to the port was also splendid and the gift shop selection was nice.
An excellent experience. An easy walk from the Railway Station. This museum is free, but you can donate by card or cash. Very friendly staff and an amazing space over five floors and three buildings. The museum features the maritime history of the area as well as the oil and gas industry. It also features exhibits on occasion. A reasonably priced gift shop featuring local souvenirs. I would visit here if you have an interest in maritime history, but is interesting for those who aren't.
Lovely museum, lovely architecture. The cherry on the cake was the free guided tour tough, offered by knowledgeable and utmost kind Robert who made it special by picking a particular parts and making his lecture around these. Learned a lot and in a very friendly atmosphere, many thanks!!
A visit worth taking while in Aberdeen (or if residing here). Deployed in 4 floors, illustrates the history of Aberdeen shipbuilding and UK offshore drilling off Scotland coast. The abundance of wood all around creates a really cozy environment. Allow >1 hour to tour as it’s really interesting.
Can’t believe this amazing place is free! 😍 I love museums...they always take us back in time and make us feel part of history. The displays, ship models, and harbour views here were just beautiful. 🌊⚓️ The Aberdeen Maritime Museum, located on Shiprow overlooking the harbour, is one of the city’s most fascinating free attractions. It’s housed in a blend of historic and modern buildings, including Provost Ross’s House, which dates back to 1593. The museum beautifully showcases Aberdeen’s deep connection with the sea — from shipbuilding and fishing to the modern North Sea oil and gas industry. One of its main highlights is the impressive 9-metre model of the Murchison oil platform, along with intricate ship models, artefacts, and interactive displays spread across four floors. Visitors can also enjoy stunning views of the harbour from the upper galleries, making it a perfect mix of history, culture, and coastal charm. 🌊⚓️
Lovely area, a good way to undertake the deep history of Aberdeen trading and oil exploration, week preserved pieces of history, kept in good viewing condition, a good place for visitors on sightseeing and exploratory training.
I haven’t been here since I was a kid. Excellent displays presented very well in a fantastic building. Very informative and paints a great picture of Aberdeen’s fascinating fishing and oil industry past. What a way to spend a few hours. I especially loved the gigantic Murchison platform which fills several floors of the building, the working lighthouse mechanism and the models of boats. The view across the harbour is phenomenal!!

Came here yesterday with my wife, daughter and some of her friends. Was really peaceful and the kids loved looking at all the flowers, the big frog and spike the cactus who had a wee blether with them and they were singing songs. Such a lovely place to come for a variety of different reasons ☺️
Beautiful indoor gardens – perfect all year round. A stunning collection of tropical, arid, and exotic plants in a peaceful glasshouse setting. Well-maintained, with themed areas like the cactus house and Japanese garden. Great place to relax, take photos, or explore with family. Free entry and located within Duthie Park – a true gem in Aberdeen.
This stunning winter garden is located inside Duthie Park. An assortment of glasshouses display superb botanical examples from a diverse range of environments, from arid to tropical, and most continents. Plants are of the most pristine quality and housed in immaculate conditions. Excellent place and well worth a visit. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍
Cool place especially for those who are more interested in plants and stuff. The kind of 'did you know' plates were fun! The only thing i can have a little but is that not all of the plants are taken care of the way they should be
A must visit place if you like conservatories and flora fauna varieties. Very well kept and maintained place with great number of plant species. I was amazed to see the quality of the plants in a cold climate like Scotland has. Beautiful flowers and some really oddball plants and trees. Someone has seriously put aome good thought into it and the staff seems to maintain it well too. No entry fee, but it’s run on donations. Takes about an hour to get through it. Will surely visit again!
I love the botanical gardens in Aberdeen - one of my favourite places to visit! I would really recommend to anyone who is here - even for a few days. To top it off, it's also completely free and family-friendly. Seriously, one of my favourite botanical garden in Scotland. The cacti area is a must see - it always amazes guests. The adjacent cafe is also quite cute and has good sweets/dessert. I think it would make a great place for a first date!
Wow. What an amazing winter wonderland. Sharing with you all some amazing pics which I took yesterday....
Absolutely fabulous place to visit. Well worth a donation to keep it open to the public. Immaculately kept plants that were interesting to see and well labelled. The cafe was great to visit too with a great vegan cake selection for people with intollerances.

The Gordon Highlanders Museum is an absolutely extraordinary experience that left me deeply impressed from start to finish. Every exhibit is thoughtfully curated, vividly bringing to life the rich history and valiant spirit of the Gordon Highlanders regiment. I was particularly amazed by the outdoor trench replicas — they provide a powerful, immersive glimpse into the harsh realities faced by soldiers, making history feel incredibly tangible and real. Beyond the indoor displays, the beautifully maintained surrounding gardens create a peaceful and reflective atmosphere that perfectly complements the museum’s powerful storytelling. The blend of engaging exhibits and serene outdoor spaces makes this museum a must-visit for anyone interested in military history or Scottish heritage. Truly, it’s a place where history breathes and honors those who served with extraordinary dedication.
Great museum for visitors interested in military history and Scottish cultural history. There are many friendly and knowledgeable staff members to answer questions. Beautiful sitting garden and nice cafe.
an absolutely amazing Museum on top 5-Star Attraction in Aberdeen, the Museum tells the extraordinary 200 year story of “the Finest Regiment in the World!” ...moving through the history of the Gordans Highlanders all major conflicts and peacekeeping ...definitely recommend visiting this when in the area ...staff were amazing and great little cafe as well
Cannot recommend it highly enough. What an incredibly warm welcome, which continued, (I also quickly visited the cafe, where i had a tasty but generous slice of cake) I met some museum managers as I explored, we chatted about the events and history, was even offered a Christmas chocolate by staff as I left. Lots of history, but the visit made by the people. The museum used the last few years wisely, the presentation of the galleries is great, easy to read interpretation, with clear font, graphics and nicely laid out cabinets. It feels updated and modern, yet has lots on display to appeal to history lovers. Also great if you like swords and silverware.
Superb museum of military history. Stunning displays and a vast amount of knowledge from the guides. I thoroughly recommend a visit here. The collections they have are amazing.
My mother was a Gordon, so it was important for me to check out this museum. I had an incredible personal guide named Jim who not only told me all the stories but we joked around. It was great fun.
A wonderful museum with an impressive collection. The building itself is pretty and has all the modern amenities which allow comfortable experience for guests of every age/ability. There's a lot to see inside, but it's not overdone. All exhibition rooms are well-designed and very aesthetic. There are also some interactive elements. I have to say you don't need to be a military freak to enjoy this. A lot of stuff like the silverware collection or little bits and pieces of soldiers' equipment can be interesting to everyone. I however am a freak so I especially enjoyed the weapons collection, medals from many different campaigns and of course the famous WW1 trench which is located on the outside. Sadly it was raining when I visited so I didn't take pictures, but on the other hand it only added to the experience. Hats off to the folks who designed and built it, it's a work of art. There was a young guide with us, who was super-passionate about WW1 and had a great storytelling talent. For more sensitive audience and kids this may be a slightly heavy topic, so keep that in mind. All in all, one of Aberdeen's top attractions. A definite must-see.
Nice and interesting museum to visit at any time, it can take one to two hours to see all the exhibits. They welcome you very kindly and there are several guides to take care of you. They also offer you a little tour through a full-size World War I trench with all its props including a machine gun nest. The coffee lounge is also very nice and convenient.

Fantastic beach, dunes. You can walk for miles. On the weekend the Sand Bothy is open for a wee coffee and snack after a play in the park.
Loved it. Beautiful day. Did not like the parking bollards to get through to the car park far too close. Toilets could be modernised and smell better. The beach makes up for it though.
Lovely, nice open and scenic country park with plenty of sand dunes, flowers, and other wildlife. We were really impressed with the biodiversity that this park is home to. There’s a small tuck shop, but it’s only open on weekends, which is fair enough because it’s staffed by volunteers. The only thing that lets this place down in my mind, is the toilets. They’re really really grim. The cubicles didn’t lock properly; there was running water, but no soap; while there was technically toilet paper, it hadn’t been fed through the dispenser, so it was inaccessible; there was blood on the floor (no sanitary bins provided) ; the toilet button needed to be held down for 30 seconds to flush properly. It’s a real shame because the park itself was lovely!
Nice place for family picnic. There are benches and a barbecue area, a playground and a coffee kiosk nearby run by volunteers. Can grab all your family and a bog for having a great time
Fantasticly Huge, vast sand dunes all leading to a wonderfully beautiful long sandy beach, add in sunshine and you have a venue well worth a visit
Fine golden sand. Beautiful dunes. Elegant wind turbines gently turning in the wind. Avert your eyes from the adjacent golf course.
All was great, except for the dirty beach - birds remainings and moreover dogs feces were not something you expect to see at a family-friendly place. The gents toilet was dirty too, so my husband regretted taking our toddler there (we had our travel potty with us). The ladies toilet was locked at all. To be honest, I wouldn't mind paying a fee for the toilets at the Balmedie Country Park if it makes it cleaner (=safer for children).
Loved our visit here. We went off season so it was super quiet, just some dog walkers passing by. The dunes are amazing to see, but would definitely recommend sticking to the paths as there are some steep drops. Plenty of parking, but a tight squeeze to actually get into it.

Duthie Park in Aberdeen is one of the city's most popular and beautiful green spaces. Opened in 1883, the park is known for its expansive open spaces, scenic walking paths, and beautifully maintained gardens. It offers a variety of attractions, including the David Welch Winter Gardens, one of the largest indoor gardens in Europe, where visitors can explore exotic plants from around the world. Its Victorian design, complete with statues and floral displays, adds a touch of historical charm. Duthie Park is perfect for leisurely walks, picnics, and outdoor activities, providing a peaceful escape close to the city center.
Duthie Park Winter Gardens is such a unique and beautiful spot for a wedding! Lush greenery, vibrant blooms, and the most gorgeous natural light—it’s like stepping into a little tropical paradise in the heart of Aberdeen. The atmosphere is so relaxed and romantic, making it the perfect backdrop for capturing love stories. Easily one of my favourite spots to photograph, and it never disappoints!
Peaceful and Beautiful Family Spot Duthie Park is a charming green oasis in Aberdeen—immaculately kept, with lovely flower beds, wide lawns, and serene pathways. The highlight is the breathtaking David Welch Winter Gardens, perfect for a nature escape. Great for family strolls, picnics, or quiet relaxation. Free to visit and easily accessible—highly recommended!
I have never been to Duthie Park despite going to school in Bridge of Don and visiting family in the city over the years. I forgot there is a winter garden and I was impressed by how lovely it was. Enjoyed the cafe too - great coffee and lovely cakes
Good place to walk, jogging, relax, play arrears, cycling etc etc… Also specially the “Temperature House” bring a huge value the place.
Was great, I was up there when doing the kilt walk an was really nice despite the heavy rain had lovely day an beautiful sites an things to do an close to shops also, ado recommend going if get the chance people were really warm an friendly
Amazingly calm and has it's own charm specially the covered winter garden in it. Feel like lost in the warmth of the nature. Be there with kids, dogs, friends or alone... doesn't matter. It's a lovely place to be. Recommended. Special note - if you aren't aware of it's history then do find out while you are there. 😊🙏🏻👍🏻 ❤️
It is a vibrant and beautifully landscaped park. It has iconic David Welch Winter Gardens. With a playground, boating pond, and scenic walking paths, it’s perfect for families and nature lovers alike.

Large, refurbished Edwardian theatre hosting classic drama, musicals, opera and dance productions.
Slide 1 of 8
We went to watch the six musical. My daughter loved it! The theater is massive! Pick your seat wisely..we had the seats at the top at the back I didn't expect it to be so high..I got a bit anxious about it but it was fine. The seats are a bit dated and needing a bit of a refresh but all in all was a good theater and show.
The theatre was easy to get into to, button operated door. The only issue I encountered was the disabled toilet in the foyer corridor was very hard to get into. It was a narrow corridor and the door opened out into the corridor. I had to wheel past the door turn face on open pull the door and wheel backwards to pull door back against the wall. As there wasn't enough room to open door and stay facing the opening then wheel in while pulling the door from fully against the wall to closed. Then do the same to get out, while trying not to hit other patrons. Another wheelchair user had to drive about a meter forward so I could open the door fully to get out, they then had to reverse into the toilet as had to room to turn around. The toilet right beside the seats was fantastic, very spacious and room to maneuver the door. The staff were brilliant at helping me find my space and offering assistance with doors and where things were. My seat had an amazing view, was on a slightly raised platform so I could see above everyone's heads. If you're going to see the lion the witch and the wardrobe, you will love it. Would recommend this theatre for wheelchair users, very accesible. Jut use the toilet near the seats for easier use.
Great evening out seeing Six. Sat in the upper circle where we had a good view of the stage. Leg room was okay, seat cushions very comfortable. Felt fine for an 80 minute single act show. Everyone friendly and helpful.
We had seats up in the balcony it’s a bit of a climb although there is a lift that takes you half way but if your mobility is not great I’d recommend seats lower down. Despite the climb the view was good and certainly didn’t spoil the show. Absolutely fantastic and will definitely be back for more shows in the future.
Went to see "book of mormon" fantastic and we had a very enjoyable time. Staff friendly and helpful.
A beautiful building, lovely helpful staff, comfortable seating amd a huge variety of shows to pick and choose from. Excellent venue.
Lovely theatre, car park minutes away Staff were very informative and helpful
Grand theatre built in 1906. Staff were helpful and friendly. The show we saw was spectacular (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe). Very beautiful and well maintained. A jewel in Aberdeen!

Great place for family entertainment. Slot machines , pool tables , electric go carts and more. Restaurants inside serve great burgers and drinks. There are a lot of different entertainment options, like bowling or electronic darts. For all age groups. We spent two days out there and it was fun. Definitely recommend!
Mini golf- spacious outdoor area. Needs a bit of a refreshment. The surface has a lot of holes and bumpy bits. Some have no marks of where to start. Karting- they’re extremely slow. We had fun though. Indoor games- nice variety of games and tickets that can be exchanged for prices. Bumper cars were the highlight for my nephew. We went back several times. Francis was very friendly and ensured we had a pleasant experience.
It's good but when you buy your pass you can only pick 1 off the good things like the race cars or laser quest. I ended up spending an extra £40 for my boys to go to laser quest and bowling. It's good but prepare to spend extra money there the pass is good but you still need money to go on some things. Food was ok but bought the boys coke zero it was £2 each for a small glass like 3 moth fulls.
Cute a nice amusement park, got bowling, mini golf, pool tables ,lazer-tag, go-carts. Many food options and a bar. Its good to check for the bundles , cause you can get good prices if you are planning to spend a long day there trying everything.
We really enjoyed ourselves today. My Son's first time and he loved every minute of it. The park was clean and tidy with very welcoming staff, especially the gentleman operating the Ferris wheel and the lady operating the waltzers. We had a good laugh with them both and they made us feel most welcome. Will definitely be back, five stars!!
We had a great time at Codona’s Amusement Park recently. Siddharth at the park was very helpful and made sure our kids enjoyed all the rides. Thank you, Siddharth, for your help! We had a wonderful experience overall.
The outdoor attractions are enjoyable for both children and parents; however, the indoor area consists almost entirely of a casino. Apart from a few games designed for children, the majority of the machines are intended for gambling. This environment exposes children to gambling activities at an early age, potentially normalizing such behavior for the future.
Not what it use to be. Gone are the exciting rides, killer arcades and Rambo land. In with the gambling machines, painfully safe rides and soft play areas. Definitely for a modern "smart phone" society with a small attention span.

Lovely place to visit and fit donation only Enjoyed the variety of art and the encouragement to do my own drawing. Photos of my favourite pieces which are mainly contemporary but a lot of classical pieces too. Gallery is light and bright with sun light through sun column in middle. Do visit the top floor to be able to go outside and see Aberdeen with height..Great coffee too
Spent a couple of hours exploring this gallery and was most impressed. While the collection is naturally focused on Aberdeen and Scottish art, it does have a diversity of art, including sculptures, paintings, modern, eclectic, and also works by the French Impressionists (Renoir, Monet). The galleries are well laid out, and the artwork is well presented in a family-friendly way. This is a definite gem in Aberdeen’s cultural and heritage portfolio. Well worth visiting when in Aberdeen. Highly recommended.
Beautiful gallery with so many incredible features. The building itself is gorgeous, along with all the fascinating artwork 🖼️ exhibitions and the roof terrace is an added bonus. The gallery is full of interesting exhibitions, some interactive - from Aberdeen history to suffragette movements. It is absolutely worth a visit, it’s free and I definitely recommend the stunning views from the roof terrace too. Fo not miss this place. Thanks to all the tinder staff for galleries like this ❤️
What a revelation - one on the best art galleries I have ever visited - we are lucky in our home city regions of Liverpool and Manchester to access amazing facilities and the day before we visited the V&A Storehouse in East London, but this was something else - so well curated and beautiful spaces and galleries, hard to describe how well done it is from the sketch pads to capture your own creativity, to the remembrance hall that is so moving. Its clearly benefited from great investment but its the curation that wins through - a must visit.
I make it a point to visit an art gallery in every city I go to. These days many galleries focus on modern art which is not really my thing so it was great to see Aberdeen Art Gallery still showcasing traditional styles that clearly remain valued by the public. There are some incredible pieces here and I even discovered a few new favourites. Special shout out to Joseph Farquharson and Ken Currie in my opinion two of the most amazing artists with paintings on display. The staff are very welcoming and do not pressure you into donations which is appreciated since the gallery like many others is free to explore. It is on the smaller side which is a bit of a downside but for its size it packs in a great variety of work. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Aberdeen.
Huge art gallery with interesting interactive display in the ground floor explaining the history. Good mix of styles and eras. Highlights: Fascinating room on McBey Interesting comparison of English/ French styles in impressionists. The Aberdeen/ Doric room Shocked to come across my young doppelganger, painted by Dorothy Johnstone. Nice shop Helpful staff. A jewel for the region and well beyond P.S. What happened to the bodies under Gallery 4?
Enjoyable, friendly and easily accessible visit. Just a shame about the disabled parking outside. The number of people without badges sitting, waiting in their cars is a real slight on the city. Hopefully the gallery is doing what they can to get this changed so their visitors can actually get close to the place.
Impressive building, lots of interactive opportunities, very helpful staff, impressed with the curation of the exhibits, lots of variety- something for everyone.

What i have to say about this beach. Everything you need to make your day at the beach is available here. Leisure or amusement park, cafes, restaurants, big parking and public toilets all around to make things easy for public. Lovely sandy beach hidden under the snow blanket. Very clean and tidy so far as i haven’t seen any rubbish on ground. It is clean and has quite a bit of bins for throwing rubbish away. The water seemed quite clean as well. There is also enough benches around. Definitely perfect place for a long walk at beach to meditate. Had very freezing but an amazing day here include enjoyed sunset.
I had the chance to visit Aberdeen Beach twice this year, and each experience was truly unique. When I first went in January, the ocean was wild and powerful — the waves were high, the foam thick, and the whole atmosphere felt dramatic and alive. It was a breathtaking sight, full of energy, with the cold wind and roaring sea creating a true winter coastal scene. I returned in April, and the contrast was amazing. It was low tide, the sea was calm, and the beach stretched out wide and peaceful. The wet sand gleamed beautifully under the soft spring light, creating a serene and inviting landscape. Aberdeen Beach has a special charm in every season — whether you enjoy the raw power of nature or the quiet beauty of a calm shoreline, it’s a place that leaves a strong impression. I’m really glad I got to experience both moods of the sea here.
Lovely long promenade with stunning sea views, clean sandy beach, and plenty of space for walking or cycling. Great for families, with nearby cafés, play areas, and ice cream shops. Beautiful spot to relax, watch the waves, or even catch sight of dolphins!
Life long Aberdonian and honestly very rarely ever come down to the beach. But at the weekend we walked from end to end and it was honestly beautiful. Was soo peaceful and everybody out walking and talking not glued to their phones. People enjoying ice creams, coffee or even a cheeky sauna. I may be slightly biased as I’m from here but it is a beautiful beach surrounded by beautiful people.
Nice beach with lots of food trucks. Nice areas to sit and watch the ships come into harbor.
I live in Aberdeen and frequent this beach for my dog walk as our dog loves it.
Great place to walk, ride a bike ,run, rollerblading, or people watch..
A nice beach for a picnic or just have a slow day.

Interesting historic site with a stunning wooden ceiling Visited St. Machar’s Cathedral and really enjoyed the experience. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect—it’s not a huge cathedral by any means, more like a very large church—but it definitely has charm and historical significance. I learned that what technically makes it a cathedral is the presence of a bishop, and it’s debatable whether that’s still the case today. Still, it holds the title and it’s worth a visit. Inside, the wooden ceiling is a highlight—beautifully crafted with decorative plaques that are genuinely impressive. You can also go upstairs for a great view and to admire the stained glass windows up close. Outside, the graveyard is packed with tombstones dating back to the 1700s, which adds even more atmosphere to the visit. A peaceful, thought-provoking stop with lots of character and history.
Beautiful Cathedral. Maintained beautifully and very well lit. The windows are particularly impressive. The gentleman in charge was very nice and allowed us to enter with our dog. The chur yard is also quite impressive. A small donation of £5 is requested if if you wish to donate by card. Parking is easy but paying can be a pain as you need to download an app and there is virtually no signal. That said, it's still worth a visit.
Lovely Cathedral. The building and grounds were well looked after. There is a balcony with a good view. The staff were very friendly too,and I enjoyed a good chat with them. The ceiling was superb, and the touch screen explained all the various crests.
Very unusual wooden ceiling, with shields of many countries. Visits are free and they give you a free leaflet, explaining the cathedral’s features, including information on all the shields. There is a shop. The day I visited was a family day, with refreshments and medieval costumes for children.
Beautiful example of 14th century church with stunning heraldic ceiling and wonderful stained glass windows. Guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. Recommend a visit. 👍👍👍
A very interesting building which reflects much of the history of Aberdeen. Sits between Old Aberdeen and Seaton Park which are both worth a visit too.
Beautiful Cathedral very well maintained in a lovely part of the Old City. Nice to see it in use and so well staffed.
Beautiful venue, candles create an amazing ambience, staff are helpful and friendly, musicians are very talented. Romantic valentines evening. Only issue I have is that it started over 15 minutes late and lasted longer than the 70 minutes it claims to so we were rushing to get to our dinner reservations. If you claim to turn people away at the door that are late then you shouldn't still be sitting people 15 minutes after it is supposed to start.

Laughed as we planned our trip here. Laughed when we entered the park. Laughed when we left the park. Priceless.
A great day out for people of all ages! I'm a wheelchair user and did find access very challenging, they allow you to drive down the hill but many of the areas are not step free, or are so steep it's unsafe. It was great to see what I could and it was still enjoyable, but wish there was more access info on their website. I would've brought a second person to help manoeuvre my wheelchair. Also you may struggle to find disabled parking. All the disabled spots were taken by families without blue badges, so you'll have to use the family spaces which will mean crossing the uneven car park and hoping not to get hit. They do have goats and pigs which were a pleasant surprise though!
It's a good day out. My little girl is only 19 months and doesn't understand the creepy statues, though she didn't understand why stitch looked like a rabbit and not actually like stitch. The glen has a really good stretch of park facilities like swings and climbing frames it also really appealed to my little girl. The soft play area is really good has a good range of areas for different ages. The food was good and I personally thought it was good value for money.
Fantastic day out with the kids for a fraction of a cost compairing to England! Half a day to visit all outside(Glen) and 90mins for the Inside(den) this will drain off completely any kids so they can have a nice sleep on the way back. Food on the restaurant is also very affordable, fresh and tasty. Toilets are very clean and have a small sinks for toddlers too!
Great place to visit with kids So much for them to see and do and good value for money to. Worth the trip from inverness to come here. Large soft play area and cafe there to :) Staff seemed friendly. Some new characters would be nice. The kids didnt no some off them as there from years ago when I was a child. Nice to see some play areas for kids and plenty benches to have picnics on to. Thanks for a great day out
The place is very nice, beautiful, clean, spacious, lots of games for children, there is a cafe, the toilets are clean, lots of trash cans are provided, the service is very satisfying and the waiters are friendly. I've been there several times but the kids never get bored and are always happy, the price is affordable for all groups and is quite cheap because it's all day, I highly recommend this place and if you go there early you can play as much as you like and can go to all the places because it's very spacious and the place is very good for photos
This venue Is a favourite of my daughters. On sunny days we spend an hour walking around all the sections within the glen whist she cuddles her favourite statues of Barney the dinosaur, In The Night Garden’s, Daisy, Iggle Piggle and Maka Paka. Humply Dumpty and The Three Little Pigs are must sees for her as well. There Is a small tuck shop out in the park or you can eat fast food back in the Soft Play area in The Den
Great place to take the kids and competively priced for the kids to get onto the softplay. It looses a star for the disgusting price of coffee, it cost me £10.10 for two rather small not that nice coffees. Not a huge fan of entrapment business model.

Spent Christmas with Mum here this 2019. Such a quiet and peaceful place. Although it all looks greyish, it’s still beautiful. I love the uniformity of granite buildings. Lovely Scotts as well. :)
Lovely cute museum and good for like half an hour of you're just looking but about a hour if you're stopping to read everything. They provide you with an information leaflet and would answer any of your questions. A good place to visit while in Aberdeen. Walking distance from the city center and also the maritime museum.
What a very interesting little museum. Great dark history of Aberdeen. The only draw back is the stairs. Very narrow and steep. Make use of the rope to aid you on them.
Worth a visit. It’s free and there’s lots of medieval history here to learn. The stairs are very steep and tight hence it’s not safe for everyone.
A good preservation of city's history. Presented a good representation of the conditions convicted murderers, debtors, alleged witches and others faced during the 17th and 18th centuries.
A very interesting museum, entrance is free. Any ladies who visit it would be a good idea to wear a pair of flat shoes, as the stairs are steep narrow and winding to say the least. Be sure to give a donation on your way out, to help keep this fantastic museum open.
Not a lot to see, but still interesting. Very steep steps and small rooms. Make sure you visit at least an hour before closing time. We were turned away a half an hour before it was due to close.
If you love history, then The Tolbooth Museum is deffinatly worth a visit

Came in to try something new on day 3 in Aberdeen. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not so busy and plenty of good spots to watch a great selection of sport. Music at a good level too, not deafening like some places. Only had a drink hence no rating for food. Worth a visit 👍😜🍻
I just had dinner here with my wife. It was a lovely pub for a beer and meal. The atmosphere is fantastic in a reclaimed church. Beautiful interior. I ate the Sherpherd's pie, which I'd say was incredibly tasty! The sauce they use was very flavourful. I only wish I had more of it! Service wasn't bad per say. It confused me at first because it seems you either order it to your table with a QR code or order at the bar. We did the former. The service certainly wasn't bad, rather I just did not access it enough to give it a full five. The staff who brought our drinks and meal was nice enough. My wife had the fish and chips. She raved about the sauce, but the fish itself was a bit dry. Other than that, perfectly pleasant place to enjoy a meal and a drink. I will give them credit that they seemed very cautious of allergies, which I appreciate as I have rather serious allergies. And it was perfectly quiet enough to chat which is hard enough to find in most pubs.
Went for a few quiet drinks the other night and was looking forward to seeing the new refurbishment first hand. As soon as I entered the door I was greeted by The Witness and started the Salvations Edge raid in a single man fireteam. Not happy one bit.
Very nice venue. Wanted to stay for dinner and a few more drinks unfortunately the one bartender ruined the ambiance and we left with our drinks unfinished. The male bartender (died blonde hair) thought it was entertaining to raise his arms and smash glass bottles into the bin. It was ear piercing and he did it on numerous occasions. So we left.
I don‘t understand why they decided to change the interior design. It used to be unique and interesting (gothic) - fitting for a space with so much potential, but now it‘s unfortunately rather boring. I used to come here every time I visited Aberdeen, but I don‘t think I will anymore. The food has never been anything special and they seem to have removed the cocktails named after the deadly sins as well. At least the staff was still nice, but I can get that in most other pubs as well.
Jacket potato was very good, however garlic bread was brought out burnt. As in black. Disappointed because this went past chef and waitresses. A little more quality control will go a long way. Food can be good but they let themselves down with simple things. Wouldn't say don't come, but make sure to tell them if there's any problems because they might bring you some
Staff amazing, food astounding, drink reasonably priced. Strangely Google didn't suggest here as a sports bar. Thereby making it a hidden gem. A wee cracker. Can't recommend it enough. Pint £4.10. Nuff said.
Was quiet the afternoon we went. Had a lovely lunch that's all that matters right? 😁

Great little garden to wander around. Lots of benches dedicated to memories. Very nice space and well kept, very pleasant today even though not in bloom.
Very pretty spring garden with lots of unusual rhododendrons out when we visited beginning June. Apparently a popular place for wedding photos and could see why. Car park opposite has 6 bays for charging electric vehicles. No charge to visit garden.
A wonderful park near the city center. Until evening, you can enjoy peace and quiet, along with the natural sounds of nature 🥰♥️
What a beautiful and well looked after garden - definitely worth a visit for a peaceful walk. We went during Autumn which was extra special. 🍂 There’s a handy car park just across the road where it’s usually easy to find a space. A great spot to enjoy nature and capture some amazing photos!
Wonderful park with the pond with ducks and different species of birds. At spring you can spot some nice blooming plants. Totally worth to go to for a calming walk.
A beautiful place in all seasons. Weve recently been during winter and it was great to see all the ducks in a different setting.
A beautiful little park, lovely walkways and quiet spots to relax and listen to the birds
Small but perfectly formed! Lots of levels bridges and ducks for children and not to big for the elderly to walk around with lots of seats. Some lovely acers and mature trees. Would imagine better in spring with all the rhododendrons.

Hazlehead Park is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in Aberdeen, offering plenty of activities and places to explore. Memory Path is a special spot, a peaceful pathway where you can take a relaxing walk while admiring the surrounding nature. The park's maze is a popular attraction, making it an ideal place for fun and challenges. For families, there are excellent playgrounds with modern, safe facilities for children of all ages. The park also has a beautiful forest, perfect for hiking and exploring, where you can enjoy the quiet and fresh air of nature. For a relaxing break, the park offers a few cafés where you can enjoy a hot drink or a snack while taking in the scenery. It’s the perfect place for a full day of exploration and relaxation!
Hazlehead Park is a beautifully maintained, expansive green space that truly has something for everyone. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by peace, nature, and charm. The vibrant rose gardens are a visual delight and smell heavenly in summer. The brand-new children’s play area is one of the best in Scotland—modern, inclusive, and packed with exciting features. The Pets’ Corner brings joy to children and adults alike with its well-cared-for animals and interactive layout.
🌳✨ A Wonderful Day at the Park and Zoo ✨🦓 Walking through the gates of the children’s park, I was instantly greeted by the sound of laughter and the soft hum of excitement in the air. The sun spilled golden light across the bright swings, colourful slides, and gentle see-saws, where children raced, climbed, and giggled without a care. The soft grass beneath our feet, dotted with flowers, made it feel like a little world built just for joy. Parents sat nearby on benches, their smiles mirroring the happiness of the little ones.. After a fun-filled playtime, we wandered towards the small zoo tucked just beyond the playground. It felt like stepping into another adventure. First came the friendly rabbits in the petting area, their curious noses twitching as the children gently fed them. A little further on, bright parrots squawked from their perches, showing off feathers as radiant as rainbows. The highlight was a gentle pony ride, where children’s eyes lit up with both excitement and wonder. Even though the zoo was small, it carried a magical charm—close enough to feel personal, big enough to spark curiosity. The blend of nature, play, and animals created an unforgettable experience where learning and fun went hand in hand. As we left, the children carried more than just happy memories—they carried stories to tell, smiles to share, and a heart full of adventure. The park and zoo together felt like a perfect treasure chest of laughter, discovery, and joy..
This is a beautiful park with a large rose garden and a small petting zoo. There is a café in the center as well, which serves good pastries and delicious coffee. On a nice day, I highly recommend an afternoon here. For sure I will come back. Also worth mentioning that there is a Parkrun just outside the park every Saturday at 09:30, which is a free and open for everyone 5 km run. There are regular buss services from Aberdeen that will take you to a short walk from the park. I used bus #11.
A nice park with a lil farm (££) and a playground. Plenty of benches and greenery for a picnic. Perfect for a sunny weather.
Hazlehead Park is truly one of the best places in Aberdeen for families and nature lovers alike. The playground is fantastic — spacious, well-designed, and full of activities that keep children entertained for hours. Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk or an active afternoon, the park offers beautiful trails that wind through stunning woodlands and open spaces, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a family walk. One of the absolute highlights is the incredible maze, which is so much fun for kids and adults alike. It adds a sense of adventure to your visit and makes it even more memorable. The flower gardens are also absolutely breathtaking, carefully maintained and bursting with color — a perfect spot to relax, take photos, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature. Hazlehead Park has something for everyone and offers a perfect setting to spend quality time with family. It’s peaceful, vibrant, and always welcoming. Truly a gem of Aberdeen — highly recommended!
This is an amazing park and makes a lovely family day out. It has beautiful walks, an amazing play area that is being upgraded currently, a maze, cafe and my kids favourite - the animal corner. This part does have a paid admission but it was less than £8 for a family ticket and we spent around an hour in the animal section alone. The park was busy, but is so spacious, it didn't feel crowded. The park is very well maintained and clean - if you are in the area, I would definitely recommend visiting.
Lovely big park with a huge play areas that would be suitable for all ages. Lots of different areas of interest within the park and plenty of space to kick a ball about. Friendly cafe with an irresistible range of cakes.
