Came here because the afternoon tea was advertised as being £12.50pp but when we got there it was actually £17pp, a massive price hike. We ended up going for a cheese and ham panini (£9.75!!!!!) and a jacket potato with chilli (£9!!!). The jacket potato was pretty okay, no complaints there but the panini was cold and the cheese not melted, it felt like it had been made a long time before serving. The crisps it came with tasted stale. The coffee was horrible, the milk was burnt and there was no foam at all considering they were supposed to be lattes. It was just bubbles at the top! For a £3.75 latte, oat milk was an extra 40p (over £1 more expensive than posh London cafes might I add) it was horrid. Watching the person make it was upsetting, dairy milk and plant milk being steamed with the same wand even though their machine has two separate wands is a huge contamination issue. If I did those things where I work I would be fired and the place put under investigation! Luckily I don’t have a severe allergy or that alone could have killed me. The person making the coffee did not know how to make a coffee, you could tell easily by the burnt taste and the screeching sound the milk was making. As I watched she just stuck the steam wand into the bottom of the jug, no foaming or temperature checking, let the milk BOIL and then left in on the machine to steam more while she left it to have a chat. Anyone with the slightest barista knowledge would know that’s the worst thing you can do, I couldn’t drink more than a mouthful after seeing that. When bringing it to their knowledge, they didn’t even know what I meant by the coffee tasting burnt, they just said “Oh like it’s too hot? Sorry.
