One of the best forts I have ever been to. Just visited this place as a spur of the moment visit while traveling through back home from Maine to Ohio. This place does not disappoint. The guides who also do reenactments and demonstrations were very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Would love to go back someday.

Drop into and experience 1755. The Tour Guides are very knowledgeable and have a good wit. For accessibility there are some areas that are difficult to traverse and some buildings that have stairs only access. I did not feel as though I missed out on anything during my visit. They do have a staff operated outdoor elevator so those in wheelchairs can access the fort walls. You're ticket is good for 2 days so you have plenty of time to explore.

We got the last 1 hour tour of the season. It was a nice slow and smooth ride around the southern part of beautiful Lake George. The fall colors were gorgeous and we even spotted a bald eagle. The captain did a great job telling us about the history of the lake and about the many beautiful homes along the way.
Restrooms, food and drinks for purchase were located on the bottom deck. We sat on the upper deck. It was enclosed and warm inside. It was windy and too cold to sit outside that day.

Beautiful 90 plus day on a crystal clear lake. Lake George offers a variety of pleasures. Day trips to mini or full vacations. THIS shouldn't be passed up. If you want a outing for not high cost value with memorable times and great views I recommend this company. From 1 hour to a full lake excursion they offer so much in mind. From just a boat tour to fireworks or other themes this is such a worth while endeavor. It's got so much to offer for the value. Super happy I took my wife on the lake cruise it was 5 hours but such a beautiful day and so many great views. Def will again and other things we saw that's worth doing. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the boat tour! The Captain offered a nice narrated tour as we set out for our hour long excursion. It was very interesting to hear about all of the famous people that have been enjoying this beautiful lake since the 1800's. They don't rush you on the boat and they don't rush you off either. We had a great time as a family at Lake George's Million Dollar Beach. It's a really nice place to swim, and we felt comfortable with the good lifeguard supervision in the designated swimming areas. We would definitely come back again when we're in the area.
We visited on a Monday (8/11) in the middle of the day, and it was quite crowded. My only minor complaint is that there wasn't a lot of space to lay out towels in the sand, especially near the main walkway and closer to the lake. There was more space available on the side of the building, but those areas didn't have lifeguards, which made it a little difficult to find a spot to relax while still being near a supervised swimming area.

Nice view of the Falls. Getting to Parking area is a long 20 minute drive on unpaved road. Path to Falls is well marked. Footpath is easy but some early parts require walking on rocks. We got there about 1040am and parked in lot #2. There are bathrooms there. Go before you hike down. The trailhead is down part parking lots #1. Walk down about .4 mile and you'll hear the falls. Stop and take some pics but don't make that your final stop. Continue walking all the way down til you come to a fork in the trail. Turn right. You'll cross some stream beds. The bridge is not there anymore. Continue on to the lake. You'll find some rocks. You can walk to a flatter portion to walk right into Lake George. It's beautiful! Clear waters! Just gorgeous! This course was very fun! Each obstacle was a little bit different from the following one with enough zip lines in between to keep your energy levels high.
Courses progressed as you complete 1-4. I had enough time to do course 5, though i do wish I had gloves from gripping cables tight at some points of the course. But i made it through. Well worth the time & money!

We played a lot of games in the arcade, the games were a great value and there is a good variety. After that we took in a round of bowling. They had a good assortment of balls for our kids and us. It’s very pretty. There are trash containers often enough along the walkway, to not have to carry very far before tossing. All the boat rides available add a lot to the area. I loved the wooden sculpture of the people paddling the canoe. My only complaint was that the bathrooms were locked. We ordered a pizza and buffalo knots. The dinosaurs are very cool, they move & roar, even though they blinked too much. Their signature "colossal breakfast" is two 6" pancakes, two eggs cooked your way, and two overcooked pieces of bacon, costing $18.50. But to avoid the hassle of renting your own boat, then renting tubes, not knowing the waters, worrying about damage, etc... you pay Tim or his dad, and they take you out on the water for a few glorious hours. The farm is located near Lake George and their hiking trails have some of the best views of Lake George in the area. We brought our toddler & preschooler and they absolutely loved it and we’re planning to come back year after year. They have tons of easy-to-walk trails (or steeper/more difficult ones for the more inclined [see what I did there? 😉🙄]); we brought our rugged wagon which made it fine on the easy trails, but I think a regular stroller would struggle. Bring a picnic lunch - there’s picnic tables or you can hike to the top of a hill to get a gorgeous view of Lake George. They have a story walk, you can learn about making maple syrup, there’s a pond where you can observe the inhabitants or catch frogs and HUGE tadpoles for a closer look (and release, of course). There’s a pretty little butterfly garden (right now -late July - they’re mostly chrysalis’). The conservationists/caretakers have such obvious depth of passion for spreading education about NYS wildlife, endangered species, invasive species, and caring for nature - it’s really inspiring 💚. This place is a true gem. Oh! There’s a museum with a Dino dig, a reading nook, coloring, tactile tables, pelts, bird watching. Everything you can imagine!! I can’t recommend this place enough!! $6 to park/enter per vehicle. Bring bug spray for sure and maybe your own hand sanitizer just in case.

If you don't care to rent a boat with all of the responsibilities that comes with the rental, this is a perfect way to get on Lake George. We were fortunate to meet Captain Steve for our 3 hour tour. The itinerary was in our hands. We were 4 adults looking to relax and see new parts of The Lake after years of vacationing here during the summer season. We went up to the Narrows for an early morning ride and learned alot about the history of Paradise Bay, the islands, and early settlers of the area. This was not supposed to be a challenging room, but for the 3 of us, it was. Brittann was our game master for this one and was great with helping us with hints here and there. A scenic and happening place with lots of shops on one side of the Great Lake George situated in the heart of Adirondack region in the town of same name. There is a battlefield (some historic battle between French and Britain happened here pre-independence era) but dint enter the battlefield or museum area. We enjoyed the natural beauty of blue water from the Million dollar beach. There are boat rides ($60 per head) and cruise tour as well(varies from $35 to $45) which last for more than an hour. Pin spot booking is available. On normal day- it’s pretty less crowded but on weekends during summer, you will see crowd. Ample food store and restrooms are there. A true weekend spot.

The park has many signs which display a detailed history of Lake George and the Battle of Lake George which was fought in 1755. Interestingly, you can see the remains of Fort George originally constructed in 1759.
If you are not interested in the history of the area it still offers a quiet and scenic place to walk around in Lake George. The park offers great views of Lake George. Although, you are in a quiet place you are also not really far from downtown Lake George either. Attractions of Lake George such as Fort William Henry, The Lake George Steamboat Company, a NY State Boat Launch, and a variety of stores. In the middle of everything it is a place to escape if you want a break or some peace and quiet.
If you walk or bike in there is no charge to go to the park. If you bring in a vehicle there is a charge. The park also has offices to near the park entrance to assist you with anything that you might need.

My least favorite of all the state parks so far. Wildly crowded with zero privacy. My tent is almost against my neighbors tent, I literally could gear him in there this morning while I was trying to sleep. If it's camping with nature that you are after, this is not the place. If you want cheap lodging and a shower in lake george, this is the place. The best thing about the campsite so far is the incredible skin removing water pressure in the showers. Seriously, the best water pressure I have ever experienced, possibly stronger than when I power wash my car. The next best is the proximity to lake george itself, and the day use park, trails and shopping surrounding the campsite. Third is after 11 when the other campers are sleeping. The bathrooms are moderately clean and often crowded. The park rangers seem nice, but that seems to be general demeanor of park rangers. There seems to be good phone service. I would strongly advise to see where your site is before booking. Mine was a misread, i can hardly fit my car in it to park and am completely out in the open. Worst camping experience so far.

We have been going to Lake George for Years. There is a lot to do, or nothing to do, depends on the mood. These pictures attached show off some of the easy to find statues. My favorite is the reaching native, it is in the woods which tends to add to the serenity despite the music from the paddle boats and the cannon fire from fort Henry. There are lots of plaques that speak of the history of Lake George. Sitting on the grass and looking over the field, we watched para sailors in the sky, lots of fun!
