I recently traveled to Guadalajara with my brother and sister in-law. They were familiar with La Perla and had stayed there many times. My accommodations were absolutely beautiful and the multi-lingual staff couldn't be more delightful. We had so much fun chatting in the morning over a wonderful breakfast and laughing in the afternoon at margarita time. The location is ideal, situated within walking distance of all sorts of great things to see and do - churches, museums, markets, shopping, town square, and lots of eateries and bars. This hotel is truly a gem. My room was spacious, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Just pull up to the lovely wrought iron gate, ring the bell, and you will be greeted with true hospitality. I think I can guarantee you wont be disappointed.

We had an amazing stay at La Perla. Lars, Guillermo, Antonio & Tere were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and the location was perfect. Lots of restaurants and attractions were walking distance. We enjoyed spending the evenings on the rooftop with Lars and Guillermo and meeting the other guests. The breakfast was also very delicious. Our only regret was not staying longer. This B&B is also a great location for birdwatchers. Bosque Los Colomos is a quick Uber ride away and you have the possibility to see 143 different types of bird species!

I so very much enjoyed my stay at La Perla in the care of Lars, Guillermo, Antonio & Tere. I felt like I was home with my family. In the evenings we enjoyed the social hour on the rooftop terrace. Lars, Guillermo, Antonio, and Tere were the most wonderful first faces of Guadalajara, and La Perla is the perfect home away from home. My husband and I spent 5 days at La Perla and everything was perfect! It was our first time visiting Guadalajara so we wanted to stay somewhere with knowledgeable helpful hosts and these guys were the best. From check in to check out, you felt like you were staying with old friends. Their advice on things to do and see, as well as restaurant recommendations were spot on. ’ve been travelling across Mexico for quite some time and staying at La Perla Boutique B&B has been the best part of my trip. Never I have experienced such attention to every little detail to make my stay so wonderful. I felt as I was visiting friends. Beautiful little house. It does get noisy in the morning, But it wasnt a problem for me. My only BIG issue was the mosquitos drove me nut some nights. But very clean hostal, service is great friendly staff. Communal kitchen and bathroom always clean. Good room. Good price. I would definitely stay here again. The location is also amazing right nezt to restaurants, bars, and cafes. The neighborhood is lines with greenery and so is the building and the outside area. I love that they dm you if you want them to clean your room or not. oh and they have a dog. I forgot the dogs name but its super friendly and chill. I wish I couldve have the dog in my room at night

I spent a week here and adored it. The location couldn't be better, and everything is clean and seems well run, but for me what i love most is the charm of the place. It is truly Mexican in the all best ways. I selected it because of the photos of the courtyard and worried that it wouldn't live up to the photos, but it's even better in real life. My room was not big like in a modern hotel, and the only window looked onto the common courtyard balcony, so I kept the curtains closed the whole time for privacy, making the apartment dark, so if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room it may not be big and bright enough for you, but it was clean and had everything I needed. The hotel is in a very good location. It is like a beautiful old Hacienda but it needs a lot of work. The rooms were not very clean and the bed sheets were stained and towels were very deteriorated. The AC was not working "at the time" and the fan wasn't either. I believe there is a sewer drain near or plumbing was not working well because the shower/sink had a bad odor.

What a sweet little hotel. We stayed in Room 6 on the second floor, the room was large, clean, and comfortable and we spent the evening in the kitchen at the end of the balcony next to the quiet terrace. There was no check-in or check-out; a little strange, but there's no front desk, either. We stayed in room 3 located on the first floor of the hotel and this was our experience. I would say decoration was cute and I liked the tall ceilings. It made you feel like you were in a hacienda.
Pros
-Excellent location: Walking distance to many of the bars and restaurants in La Colonia Americana. Most places are within a 10 min walk. You get the best of both worlds. To the left is the hipster area and to the right is the old historic center.
-Easy self-check in: Instructions for check in are provided via email the day before and we’re super easy to follow.
-Great water pressure: The shower is a delight. Strong water pressure and the hot water turns on immediately.
Cons
-No A/C: This was a major issue for me. There is no A/C and the room gets incredibly stuffy and hot during August. They only provide a fan, although it helps it is no where near sufficient. As a “boutique hotel” this is essential to have in a room and it is missing.
-No window screens and mosquitos! : Due to the room not having A/C, the windows must be opened to help the air circulate. The problem is, there are a massive amount of Mosquitoes that enter the room thru the bathroom and bedroom windows. We had repellent but even with that be prepared to be swarmed by mosquitoes while you try to fall asleep. It was horrible!

I enjoyed my stay and would have stayed longer if it wasn't for one guy in the room next door who used a very loud machine while sleeping. I was told it was because he smoked too much and now has a medical problem where he needs it to sleep. Unfortunately, I had horrible sleep because of the noise. The hostel is quiet but it’s a great home base while in Guadalajara. Good location proximate to the main points of interest which is really important to me as a solo female traveller in a city that is self-proclaimed to not be the safest. The building itself is gorgeous. Grand pillars, a wrap around balcony, and beautiful tiles. Unfortunately the room has no A/C, so it is very hot. The hostel itself felt safe and secure, but not so much the dorms, as the doors don’t have locks and often get left opened by cleaning staff. I noticed that the girls dorm seemed to be the only one without curtains on the beds to cut out any light which was unfortunate but at least I woke up early everyday. The free breakfast was nice to have! Fresh fruit and toast and yogurts. That was very helpful during my first time in Guadalajara. Showers are hot! Staff is super helpful!

I had a fantastic experience at Hospedarte Chapultepec. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with modern touches and thoughtful details that made my stay relaxing. The common areas, including the kitchen and garden, were well-maintained and had a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Awesome hostel. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Clean and tidy rooms and common areas. Fantastic kitchen and hang out area up on the terrace with a stunning view of the city. There are hammocks, a tv, tables, chairs, plugs for charging, lots of utensils and a large fridge.

There’s a cafe on site (Sinergia) with delicious coffee and bagels.
We stayed in a 4 bedroom dorm, though would recommend the 6 bedroom dorm if you have larger packs as they had more space in the room. The 4 bedroom dorms were quite small.
We liked the curtains on the bunk beds for privacy, and the lockers below the bed for safe storage.
We had a great stay and would recommend this hostel.

We visited two other hostels in Guadalajara before thankfully finding this place. The dorms beds are HUGE. It’s sparkling clean throughout the building and especially in the kitchen. They’ve got free filtered water and a cold water dispenser. The roof is the main attraction of course. It’s a sun trap trap from sunrise to sunset. Someone has taken a lot of time on the plants up there, and everything is made from recycled materials. It’s a quieter hostel, so wouldn’t recommend for a solo traveller trying to make friends. It’s perfect to get some R&R, and it’s good value for money. It’s exactly what we were looking for.

I stayed here a couple months ago, and I had some problems (mainly two times have men pretend to unintentionally walk in on me in the shower and while changing). Lovely hotel with the best hosts. This is my favorite place to stay when I’m in the area. I don’t enjoy big cities and Tlaquepaque is small, quiet, and a safe area with local vibes. The included breakfast is excellent; eggs done how you prefer, toast, fruit, coffee. The included parking is two blocks away, a short walk, but very much appreciated as parking in Tlaquepaque is very limited. Cannot find more friendly, engaging, and helpful hosts. 100% recommend staying here. If we are fortunate to return to Tlaquepaque this is where we will stay - if available.

We booked this hostel based on strong reviews across Google and Hostelworld. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the expectations.
While the location is convenient and the open garden space has potential, maintenance is clearly lacking — like when a chair broke under a guest and the only response from staff was, "That's okay, just add it to the pile of broken brown chairs over there," with no concern for their well-being.
Cleanliness and customer service were major letdowns.
The lobby seating had questionable stains, the ping pong paddles were sticky, and the hammocks didn’t feel hygienic. When we arrived at our room, it was hot and stuffy. The reception told us the AC wouldn’t turn on until 9 PM. When we asked for an extra fan, we were initially told there were none — until we pointed out an unused one in the lobby, and after an awkward silence, they reluctantly gave it to us.
My bunk space hadn't been cleaned — I found an eaten lollipop and wrapper in my bed. After a long trip, I was too exhausted to complain, but it set the tone. The washrooms were even worse: strong odors, poor ventilation, and overall unsafe conditions.
On a positive note, the kitchen was functional (though always busy), the quiet work area was helpful, and the fellow travelers we met were great.
Overall: Great location, wonderful guests — but serious issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and customer care make it hard for me to recommend staying here.

I’ve been very lucky to have stayed 2 weeks in this hostel. I’d like to start with the owner, being very understanding, and excepting of all situations and circumstances always providing what is needed for the people. All of the people I stayed with during that time I had absolutely no problems with only some of the best experiences I could ever imagine having. Everyone is so nice. It’s also very ideal location wise because it’s right in the centre of everything so if you want to go to get food and listen to music, or go to the bars you can do that. I would personally recommend this for anyone travelling looking for that comfortable five-star experience. I will most definitely be back next year!!

Recently found this house that is hidden in plain sight in the shadows of the Riu Plaza, the new Westin and Hilton Hotels. It is a bed and breakfast by name, but the owner, James Dickinson will rent the whole property out for guests that he feels will take good care of his lovely home. It generally gets rented out to many people wh attend conventions since it is a short walk to the largest convention center in latin America. I am guessing that the superior business amenities that this house offers has alot to do with that. It also does not triple the rent when big conventions come to this city. This can save a group traveling together a lot of money and still have the great comforts of home. My friends and I loved the security and free open spaces that surround this nice Mexican neighborhood. Had a great time!
