Friendly staff and delicious food in a cosy atmosphere. I had the Wok fried cabbage with chilli and Egg fried rice. Together with my aloe Vera drink came to £16, and actually fed two of us. I go here quite often! Me and a few friends love this place and it quickly became my top favourite places to eat out at! It's even a place I go to eat when I'm feeling down because the staff and food are that good!
The food is amazing, we've ordered quite a few dishes but my friends and I have barely scratched the surface!
I've never been disappointed with a dish we've been served and the owner (I think she's the owner) is a lovely person who me and my friends are always excited to see when we get there because she's so kind to us and we've become regulars because of the amazing times we have here!
I would recommend going to this place in person, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is so calming and the staff are kind.

I ordered the vegetable dumpling hot soup which is a little pricey at £14.99 however, the dish is intended for two people and is served in a pot that keeps the dish warm. I came here today with my partner and mother in law. We opted to have the £10 economy plates, which is where you get a main dish along with a rice or noodles, 2 starters and a drink of either tea, coffee or a soft drink. You also get a jug of curry sauce and sweet and sour sauce served too.
I chose to have bean sprout noodles with char shiu pork in black bean, prawn toast and spring rolls.
My mother in law had sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, egg fried rice, prawn toast and spring rolls.
And my partner had char shiu pork chop suey, bean sprout noodles, prawn toast and spring rolls.
We all immensely enjoyed our food. My mother in law could only eat half of hers, so my partner and I finished it off for her. We couldn't bare to waste such good food!
We only moved up to Stockton in July 2022, and this was our first trip out to a restaurant. It was well worth the wait, and I can't wait to go again.
We will definitely have the economy plate again, because it's such good value, but I can't wait to try the buffet at some point!

First time to visit Middlesbrough for work, found this shop closed to Holiday Inn. I ordered Chicken sweetcorn soup, House special fried rice, and King Prawns with spring onions and gingers. I requested not have any MSG and not too salty for my orders. Guess what? Turned out no taste for the soup and the King Prawn dish (at least I got the taste of gingers 😅). Fried rice was good taste with the gravy supplied, the overall portions of everything was decent and value for the price. My advice, no MSG for sure but okay with the salt, pepper and sugar. 😄

We had high expectations, but unfortunately, the food fell short. We ordered over 5-6 dishes, and none of them tasted authentic or even close to what they should be. The quality and flavor were below average, making it a disappointing experience overall.
While the portion sizes were decent, the taste just wasn’t there. Having tried many Chinese restaurants across the country, this was by far one of the most underwhelming. If you’re looking for good Chinese food in Middlesbrough, I’d recommend checking out the restaurants on Linthorpe Road instead – they offer much better quality and authentic flavors. Left a honest review on their Facebook page and I was met with with much hostility. And harassment on messenger chat in which I had to block the owner from messaging me. So I'll just reiterate what I said on that review. I mentioned that I thought the owner was rude in the way he spoke to us as customers. The food was below average. And as I walked round the back there was so much rubbish and they leave there kitchen back door constantly opening which could (and probably does) let anything in. I would not recommend dining here.

The food was unbelievable! You are only allowed to order 1 of everything each time you order. For example, we ordered our starters first (was 3 of us) and we wanted to order 2 portions of sea weed, we were unable to do this so our second Seaweed had to be ordered with our mains. It is completely unlimited and order as you go (ITS NOT A HELP YOURSELF BUFFET), which works really well , and food is always hot.
Not really much parking around the area is behind a Lidl, but you're unable to park in there. We parked up some back ally.
It was crazy busy and we went on a Thursday 5pm. We called to see if we needed to get a table, and they said they are pretty much fully booked, but there is some space at X times.
The only downside is the way the staff rush you is next level. Never have I ever had the waitress or waiter come over asking if we are ready so many times. It made us feel like we had to rush to order constantly - I understand they were busy BUT don't let further people in without telling them they would need to be out be a certain time (for example)
3 of us attended, and we also got 2 Cokes, 1 lemonade + 1 pint of beer, and the total came to £90.
Overall, I would 100% return as the good was gorgeous and very tasty! Just next time I would tell them, we will call you when we are ready to order.

This was my first visit to the Peking Garden (recommended to me by several friends). I visited with my family of 3. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the food and the level of service. We visited on a Friday night, so the restaurant was particularly busy. Despite that we were seated immediately (we had booked earlier that day). We initially ordered soups and starters, all of which we enjoyed, especially the salt & pepper chips. We then ordered an assortment of mains between us. They all looked and tasted great, however, my standout dish was the Kung Po Chicken, which was spicy and really packed a punch. The young serving staff were all very friendly and helpful and seemed to be working very hard. All 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and waddled home with very full bellies. We were welcomed in, seated, given menus and our choice of drinks.
From choosing food to having it in front of us was only minutes.

Excellent service from the moment we stepped inside, nicely decorated, extremely clean and attentive staff.
Ordered a range of appetisers, crispy duck, prawn toast, salt and pepper spare ribs, satay chicken and salt and pepper chips, all arrived hot and fresh and were very tasty.

I have been to Umi a few times over the years it's one of me and my partners favourite places to eat at. I am a vegetarian so I only order items without meat or seafood, however the sushi is still one of my favourites that I've eaten before and they have a decent amount of options for me. My partner tends to get the pork and seafood ramen which always looks nice and a good size. Eating here can however become a bit more expensive when ordering a few items, so we tend to go on special occasions. We went about 5pm on Thursday evening after school. I was surprised how busy it was already, but by the time we left the buffet about 630pm, the cue was out the door. Wonderful yet diverse selection of Chinese , Asian, Western, Indian, Japanese, and Western Cuisine. All very hot and made fresh that evening. Food wasn't bad, some was cold but it's expected with most buffets. Most of the food was delicious though the rice was hard 😞.
The crepe and ice cream roll stations were great, choosing your own flavours and watching them be freshly made was a nice experience. The cotton candy and chocolate fountain stations weren't on along with some other foods which wasn't ideal when you're still charged full price. I had to pay adult price for my 10 year old because he's tall which seems a little unfair as just because he's tall doesn't mean he eats more than someone shorter, but hey ho it's their policy.
Staff watched us the whole time as we ate however, not just us but other tables too. I understand there is a waste policy but it made the whole experience incredibly uncomfortable and ruined the visit.
Worth it for the food, but the atmosphere was not welcoming and likely won't be returningbit with the kids anyway.
Definitely worth a go if you're looking for a well rounded food buffet.

It really is a no frills little restaurant and probably exists mostly for takeaways but it was very cosy and we had amazingly tasty food! There recommendations were perfect and we enjoyed them emensly. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. Reasonably priced food and drinks that were all presented beautifully! Gorgeous food, but not the best service hence four stars. We were forgotten about and three other tables served whilst we were still waiting, one of the tables was served three times before I had to ask for a different waitress so we got served. Then they got part of the drink order wrong (two glasses of table water) and we ended up with one of them piping hot!
However... The food was well worth the wait, all freshly cooked and hot and a really gorgeous meal all round. We would love to go back and if they can sort the dodgy service out then hopefully I can upgrade the review to five stars.

Open 10 to 5.30 (Thurs 4.30) very out of the way but popular Thai takeaway on North Road, Middlesbrough. Parking outside takeaway. Has a very good meal selection with plenty of vegetarian options. This was my 2nd time here as I enjoyed my last meal so much. Food can be eaten in the takeaway or taken home, cash ot card. The staff are welcoming and efficient and often when not cooking they make sure everything is spotless.
I had King prawn Massaman curry which is very mild and creamy with coconut milk and potato. Apart from potato no other vegetables which I thought would have enhanced it, even a bit of onion, but it was very tasty. I also had chips which were your bog standard chips plus I had chicken satay skewers with satay (peanut) sauce. Dissapointed there were only 3 skewers as most takeaways do 5 to 6 skewers. The curry came with boiled rice which was included in price.

They are really sweet and they explain all the dishes and we were really well looked after by the waiting staff. You can tell that the boss is kind and thoughtful. Me and my parents went here for a nice meal as we have wanted to go to an Indian restaurant for ages, and so we decided to come to Jolsha, Norton. It took only a few minutes before we got seated, which was good since the day we went was extremely busy. The atmosphere was nice and we felt welcome but the tables were really close together so everyone was packed in quite tight, but this wasn't much of a problem for me. This restaurant isnt wheelchair friendly by the way, as there is not much room to maneuver and there is a large step to get inside the restaurant. A waiter brought out 4 dips (without asking - and this happened to everyone) and poppadoms. We assumed these were free as they were given out without asking, but later on we were charged for them! Each dip being over £1 and the poppadoms being £1 each. The other problem was that it took 1 hour and a half for our food to come! And this is the normal sort of waiting time - there werent many people in the restaurant actually eating because barely anyone had their food. Although, we ordered a cheesy naan, peshwaari naan, egg pilau x2, lamb pasanda, chicken korma, king prawn tikka masala and anion bhajis. The food here is very filling and extremely nice, and I would still go here again. It was still a nice experience even though there was a long wait - but if anyone at Jolsha is reading this - prioritise your in store customers over takeaway orders and have faater service!

We ordered catering services for our daughter’s birthday party from Khan’s Tandoori and what can I say, if I could give the whole team more than 5 stars, I would happy do that as they were soo good, soo professional!! Wish all companies worked this way, I am soo very impressed by them, I can’t find enough words to tell you. Right from the beginning, they were responsive, every time I called, they answered and helped us with all our queries. They then came over before a week to check the hall so they can get a idea for dining arrangements they will have to set. And on the day, they arrived well before time and stayed until the party was over, catering for the needs of each one of our guests!
The food was served in hot plates so it was nice and warm throughout the dinner time.
Once the party was done, then even cleaned everything and put all the tables back as how they were in the hall. This is the level of professionalism you will be dealing with if you use their services.
Coming to the food itself, it was fresh, plenty, very very tasty and all our guests loved it. So much so that they were happy to take some back home as well as the food served was plenty for the size of our party.
Do yourselves a favour guys, if you are looking for catering services in Middlesbrough, Yarm, Stockton, Thornaby or the surrounding areas, blindly go with Khan’s and you will not be disappointed. I recently visited the area on a business trip and was looking for a good Indian takeaway — and wow, this place was a gem! I ordered Palak Paneer and Tarka Dal, and both dishes were absolutely delicious, full of flavour and tasted just like homemade. Prices were really reasonable too.

Had a takeaway here last night for the first time and I will not be returning. Paid £35 for the order and it all went into the bin. The salt and pepper chips were just chips with salt on basically and for around £4.50 I felt these were overpriced! The curry sauce had a very strong awful smell to it which actually made me gag. For a £35 order to not even receive prawn crackers free also was a shame. I know this is not a given however in every Chinese I order from if it’s a large order they include them and other items as a lovely gesture.
