앉아서 기다리면 돌면서 우리가 직접 고를 수 있는 딤섬들이 나온다.
접시당 7불 정도 하는데, 딤섬이 꽤나 맛있다.
정신없이 먹으면 비싸니 적당히 먹기를 추천한다.
다운타운에 있기에 주차공간이 없다.
직원들은 영어로 설명해준다.
디저트류는 개인적으로 안에 있는 내용물이 별로 였다.
딤섬은 새우류 맛있다.
맛있다 가격은 싸지 않다. 기본적인 반찬은 당연히 돈을 내야 한다. 짜차이는 4.7달러이다. 딤섬은 꽤 맛있음 사진의 음식은 4번이다. 피가 좀 더 얇으면 맛있겠지만 그래도 몹시 맛있고 새우 볶음밥도 담백하고 맛이 있다.

단점이 있다면 주차장이 따로 없고 많지 않은 길가 주차를 유료로 해야 한다는 점과 식당이 엘리베이터 없는 2층이라 계단으로 올라가야 하는데 나이드신 분들에겐 조금 불편하고 위험해 보였습니다.
캘거리에서 오래 영업한 식당으로 메뉴를 잘 선택하면 한국사람 입맛에도 잘 맞는 맛있는 식당입니다.

An excellent place for Chinese banquet food in Calgary. Of note, their Peking duck is above average and particularly juicy inside while being crispy outside. Loved how there were enough pancakes to match the amount of duck given. Would highly recommend the Peking duck here. The fried Chinese sticky rice was also a delicious surprise tasting truly magnificent. All the other dishes were good too. A solid meal.

We went there for Dim Sum. The shrimp dumplings were very fresh. My favorite dishes were the sticky rice, chicken feet and the taro bun. The class dim sum dishes are good. The vermicelli with duck meet cooked very good. Overall, it is a great place for the dim sum.

Central Grand Restaurant, a Cantonese restaurant full of history and character. What impressed me most is that they still use dim sum carts – such a rare and nostalgic touch. It’s so much better than just pointing at a menu and trying to imagine the dishes; here, you see the real look of each dim sum right in front of you, no guessing like a blind box.

We come here for dim sum very often—it's one of the few places that still has traditional dim sum carts, which we love. But my absolute favorite thing is the tofu dessert!
Our family also comes here regularly for big family dinners. The service is fast and reliable, and they’re always happy to accommodate special requests to make sure we get exactly what we want.
Everyone at the restaurant is so kind. We've been coming here for over twenty years, and it still feels like home.

I come here for dim sum pretty regularly for the last 35 years or so, their quality has been very consistently excellent. Also comes here for dinners and a wedding. They do the typical Cantonese style food very well. Even my nephew coming in from Guangzhou thought the food was good.

It is on the 2nd floor of Top grocery store. The restaurant does not offer dim sum at dinner time. We ordered two dishes, one chicken and one fish tofu. Both come with big portion and taste good. I saw many customers speak Cantonese, looked like many are returning customers. After finish meal, they served fruit and traditional sweet red bean soup for free.

I had heard for a long time that this restaurant still uses traditional push carts for dim sum, and today I finally got the chance to try it.
The decor is truly that of a traditional Hong Kong tea house. Besides the two or three dim sum carts selling dishes, you can also order from a dim sum menu sheet.
They offer many Hong Kong-style dim sum items that are rare in other Calgary tea houses, such as duck feet and tofu pudding. The food quality is quite good, though it hasn’t yet reached my personal ideal.
Overall, my wife and I ordered eight dim sums this time, all of which met our expectations. We will definitely come back to try more next time.

Enjoyed our Sunday dim sum lunch at Bill’s Peking House. Dim sum order from the menu then they steamed and delivered to your table. Not too many dim sum place in the Deep South Calgary. We definitely enjoyed Bill’s (even when they were at the old location in Canyon meadows)

We have been going to Bills Peking House for *Many* years. Service is always on point and prompt, food arrives relatively quickly (Dim Sum) and is piping hot so you know it is fresh and delivered to your table fresh and hot. It is not the cheapest restaurant for Dim Sum, but if you want quality, and also quantity, Bills is the Best in the deep South East of Calgary. The Shiu Mais, Haggows (sp), they are big! And Juicy! The shrimp dishes aren't skimpy, the shrimps are large and not just a paste of shrimp paste wrapped in a blanket. My go to 10/10 with oufght a need to drive to downtown or Chinatown for authentic Chinese Dim Sum. ... Western Chinese food is not reviewed, but I am sure it is very good.

Great in that their Peking duck comes with enough pancakes to match how much duck you get as most places give you too few pancakes. Great portions and good Chinese food. The salted egg yolk shrimp and Hainanese chicken are solid. Their red bean soup is delicious too. Great for group dinners.

Bistro and hk cafe combined in one. The menu is fairly large so lots of things to read and choose from. After looking through a bit ordered the food and then quickly got it. Ordered the laksa and the pork and chicken with tomato and cream sauce baked on top of pasta. The sauce chicken and pork tasted pretty good but I think it would have been better with the baked rice option. The soup laksa also tasted pretty good. The meal also had tea to drink which was pretty tasty. Overall pretty solid experience.

An average chinese dining experience, not great by any means but not bad either, very average. Large menu tons of selection and the additional bbq meats selection is nice. My group and I ordered the shrimp fried noodle, the bbq meat two items plate, garlic mixed vegetables, sweet and sour pork and salt pepper squid. The duck and bbq pork weren't bad, the sweet and sour pork was a bit bland. Again not a bad dinner just very average nothing really stood out, I would probably try it again and order some other dishes next time.

This is definitely a great place to enjoy dim sum with friends and family.
The food taste fresh and delicious and it comes in good amounts.
The service is what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant, they will make sure you have your water or tea full but won't bother you like many other places asking if everything is alright. You do have to get their attention if you want to order more or need something specific though.
The atmosphere is good, nothing to be raging about but it has good lighting and it's clean.
We got there on a Saturday around 12:40 and they had 20% off dim sum items, I'm not sure if that is an usual promotion or we just got lucky.

Had dinner on one of the busiest nights and enjoyed very good food & service. Their fish are traditional, generous sized slices. The sushi rice is appropriately seasoned. All the fish were great quality.
A subpar item was the tempura batter. It was clumpy and not frizzled as it should be in appearance but still light and crispy.
We enjoyed coming here over the years and will continue to return.
Highly recommended sushi place.

This place was perfectly adequate. Perhaps it was the day of the week or the time we went, but for 21$ we got exactly the quality of meal that we could expect. There weren’t many options out for the Buffet, the dim sum wasn’t available and the hot pot was a separate charge. This dim sum place was incredible. Every dish we tried was tasty, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were warm and friendly, and they did a great job explaining the different dishes, which was especially helpful for us as non-Asian customers who don’t always know the names of everything.
I loved that we could actually see the dishes before ordering, it made it so much easier to try new things and know what we were getting. The taste was amazing across the board, and the prices were very fair. We have been searching for a great Western style Chinese place in Calgary and going on the strength of the reviews we tried this place.
The service was great and the food was quick to come out of the kitchen, which is surprising with how busy the restaurant was.
The food, we had vegetable fried rice, which sadly fell very flat and was basically tasteless with some of the vegetables not even being cooked long enough to be warmed up and were still cold right from the kitchen.
Stir fried vegetables, which again had very little flavor and once again the vegetables were under cooked, but at least they were warm.
Sweat and sour pineapple chicken. I'll give it points for sweet, but didn't taste any sour in the 8 or 9 pieces I tried before moving on.
House special chow mein, well down with lots of flavor, the noodles and meat were cooked to perfection, while the source complimented the dish nicely.
Maybe we ordered wrong based on all of the other reviews so we will be back again and sample other dishes. Hopefully we can be converted.

Ho Won Chinese Food Restaurant in Calgary was a pleasant surprise - from the exceptional service to the absolutely delicious dishes, this place exceeded our expectations.
To start, the salt and pepper fried squid was an absolute standout. The squid was cooked to perfection, with a wonderfully crispy exterior and tender, flavorful interior. The seasoning was spot on, with just the right balance of saltiness and peppery heat. We couldn't get enough of this dish and quickly polished it off.
Moving on to the mains, the roasted duck was succulent and packed with flavor, while the stir-fried mixed vegetables had that elusive "wok hei" (breath of the wok) that we crave in well-executed Chinese cuisine. The portion sizes were also very generous, making this a great value.

Came to Ho Won for their breakfast combos. Upon being seated, there was a beetle/bug climbing the walls. The interior is quite dim and out dated. Food was flavourful and okay. It was awfully quiet on the weekend. The tall flight of stairs might be challenging for some people to climb.

I just wanted to drop a line. I recently decided to try their take out. I like the squid like many other reviews mentioned it. The squid was cooked to perfection, holding onto its sweet taste, and the batter was light, crispy, and had just the right kick of flavor. A little tip though - try to enjoy it while it's still warm. Like any fried goodness, it might lose a bit of its crispiness over time. But trust me, when it's fresh, it's a crispy, yummy delight that you won't want to miss.
And can we talk about portion sizes! The servings were so generous, I was both surprised and pleased. The value for the price is simply excellent. There was more than enough to satiate my hunger, and I even had leftovers for the next day!

The food here is delicious. We went there for the dimsum but it seems that dimsum is not served at dinner time.
We ordered around 8-9 plated food (we were a big group), and everything tasted good. The kids love them as well. Moreover, our server was very nice. Finally, the bill was under 200 and we still had lots of food taken home.
Will definitely be back to try the dimsum

One of the most iconic Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Been here for almost 20+ years. A true staple of what real Cantonese food can offer in the city.
Famous for their salt and pepper squid, a taste like no others, the way it's made, thick batter, sprinkle with some intense umami... Out of this world flavor I can't describe. One of many great dishes that's offered. Their cream sauce over lobster, crab, noodles is on a league of its own!! I can not find this type of sauce anywhere in the city, the flavour of the rich, buttery, creamy, oniony sauce... Sooooo good!!
And their homemade hot chilli paste, like, this is truely a hot sauce in a league of its own that you can not find anywhere. I believe it's made with a hint of rice wine which you can slightly smell it... The flavour is a slight sourness with some spicy heat. Can I have the recipe??
Many weddings, many lunches, and many dinners.. food has always been consistent and delicious!!

The traditional Chinese food here is actually not bad, the squid dish is fantastic and the texture of the meat dishes are great too.
It’s a large dinning area and the decor is not bad, the service is questionable. But that is typical for authentic Chinese restaurants, I would visit again.

Food quality has gone down drastically and the most recent instance when I went, it took over 40mins for the Peking duck to arrive at the table when the place was not super busy. There were servers wandering around the floor, but super hard for me to flag anyone down because they would turn around just as I tried to wave people over. We were then charged a 15% service charge for 3 people. I would’ve happily given a tip if the service was good, but it was far from passible and they unfairly added a service charge to the bill when it wasn’t even a gratuity fee.

One of my top places for dim sum in Calgary- they are able to take reservations, and you order from the paper sheet (check mark the items you want from the list) , and they bring the food hot! Average for speed of service, food is good and we’ve typically gone up to the till to pay.
If it’s busy and u have to wait for a table, waiting indoors in the mall is more comfortable with lots of seating vs silver dragon. Also lots of free parking.

I can't believe I got takeout at the same restaurant as some of these reviewers are talking about. The family who used to own the Peking Garden served some of the best food in Calgary. Not sure when another group took it over but I understand why there were only 2 people in the restaurant at lunchtime. Today we had some of the WORST food ever. The rice was white, flavorless and dry. The ginger beef was full of gristle, pale, sauceless and tasted like flour. Likewise, the sweet and sour chicken had no sauce, no flavor...nothing. And how do you ruin vegetables? To add insult to injury these take out box meals were almost $18 each. And all their dishes are now 19.99 each. We will not be eating Peking Garden food again in this lifetime.

Mediocre thai food, you can find better elsewhere. Used to be great years ago. Now tastes more like chinese food rather authentic thai cuisine. Pad thai was overly sweet, pad see ew was lacking in flavor, no wok hei, poor caramelization as you can see by the color. Mango salad was decent, good flavor but overripe mango and small portion, half the container was garnish. Deep fried tilapia was good, though they gave curry sauce instead of chili sauce. Tom yum was really good, probably the only thing i would recommend but i ordered nam kon tom yum so it should be creamy, they forgot to add coconut/evaporated milk or something.

We had an outstanding dining experience at Thai Bistro – Authentic Thai Cuisine. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The green chicken curry was rich, creamy, and beautifully spiced. The pad Thai with beef had a perfect mix of savory and sweet, with tender beef and fresh noodles.

Newly introduced to this wonderful little restaurant. Walk in the door to being greeted warmly and quickly. I noticed immediately it's very clean and authenticity decorated. No old dusty plants or fake decorations. Ordered noodle Hot Pot with shrimp in a coconut milk broth, it was absolutely divine. The flavors fresh, crisp, strong and multi layered. Perfectly cooked dish.

I went to this restaurant called Gold Bistro Chinese Restaurant in Southeast Calgary (Mindapore). It was a real hidden gem of a restaurant where you really wouldn't expect to have such fresh Asian cuisine. Such friendly owners and also regulars who were patting the back of the chef and also the owner. Alan immediately greeted us upon entering the restaurant brought us to our table and told us to continue eating and to please enjoy.

When we arrived at 7pm for dinner we were seated right away and drink orders were taken. we then went up to get food from the buffet and their was barley any food left. And what was their was cold. My wife and Son grabbed a few things then the owner came to us and asked us what we would like as he would make it fresh for us as he didnt want to make everything again to not waste a lot of food. We though this was a great idea and told him what we wanted.
But they did make everything they only made three items and as soon as the food came out we requested they put it in the buffet and it got taken right away from the other people that were their also waiting for food.

I left the money on the table that I agreed to and walked out to my truck. The owner came outside and accused me of not paying for my food. I advised i left the money on the table he then started to yell at me at charged at me after i told him it worst experience I have ever had at a chineese buffet

Chose this place by Googling “Asian Buffet near me” and found this great little place in south Calgary! Very friendly greeting and an explanation that as it was 7 pm if any of the buffet options were missing or running low just to let them know and it would be made up fresh with an intent to not waste food. We had never tried empress palace before. It had been suggested to us by some friends. They were right! It was fantastic food; every dish was delicious. Fantastic food served by passionate people who care about high-quality vegetarian Canto food and were doing it well before it was cool - I’m talking decades, my parents used to take my sister and I here when we were kids. If we could give this restaurant 10 starts we would! Everything was insanely delicious and there are so many options (we were surprised to learn that the ENTIRE menu was vegan!). Cannot recommend this place more. If we had more days in Calgary we would come back again and again to try everything.

This is one of the best Chinese food restaurants in Calgary. The food is excellent and the gentleman that owns/operates the place is lovely. Our favourite dish is the Salt & Pepper Squid, it has a nice light batter with a bit of heat. In fact, all of the dishes that we've tried here over the years are exceptional, great flavours and little or no MSG... I can tell because I don't get all bloaty or puffy from this like I do from the other cheap western style chinese food. The Magic Bowl Chinese Food has a great Dim Sum menu and everything is made fresh, you can tell. Next time we will try one of his hot pots, they look fantastic.
All in all this is one of our favourite date night spots, even though the decor is a little tired, the food more than makes up for it.

The service is wonderful and the owners are genuine and friendly. Prices are reasonable to get this level of dim sum outside of Chinatown. The food is up there with the big restaurants in Chinatown as well, and all the dim sum is made in house.
Washrooms are clean and parking is plentiful. A great place to hit that dim sum craving if you don't want to head downtown.

The food is pretty bland and very mediocre. S2, S3, S4 buns were the best things there, specifically the egg yolk bun. The owner is very kind and gives good service. Unfortunately though the food was mostly disappointing. For food quality it's priced ok, you could get a similar meal that's better tasting for the same price. I've only had dim sum here and it's better than some at Chinatown! It's not the type of dim sum that goes around with carts. So you'll have to wait a little for your order to be made, but it's worth the wait.

I’ve tried dine in and take out of this place. I love the taste and portion of their food.
It is a small joint with 4 big tables for large families and a few smaller tables. It is hard to get a seat during dinner hours on the weekend.
Their Chinese menu offers a good range of authentic dishes. I do recommend this place.

I give 3.5/5 for food.
Had the dinner set for 4 (148.00)and Peking duck (49.xx). The duck and the pancake was oily, especially the pancake, way too oily. Not their best on this one. The dishes that came with the set, there were some hit and misses and they sort of all came out at once. Came out so fast we had to stack some plates on top of others. Usually most restaurants don't do that as that could be overwhelming. I think it was during lunar new year so they want to get all dishes out as quickly as possible to decrease traffic. The servers were friendly. Their yellow custard steamed buns and the salt and pepper seafood dish was delicious.

Our friends were generous enough to treat us to some amazing food and we will be back when we are in town again for sure.
The servings were massive and the prices weren’t too bad either.
Albeit on the salty side, their Salt and Pepper Squid was one of the best that I’ve had in the city.
We had some Dimsum items and all of them, I really loved, except for the Deep Fried Radish Cake. It was all on me though as I hate radish but they look incredible. I tasted the pastry though and it had the most amazing texture, aside from they looked spectacular!
I loved their take on Beef and Brocolli as they used short ribs. Amazing!
The rest of the food were all tasty as well!

I ordered dinner by chance tonight and it turned out to be from my favorite Chinese restaurant! Everything was absolutely delicious. The eggplant, chicken and shrimp stood out, they were so flavorful and the portions were really generous. If you haven’t tried it yet, I definitely recommend it!

This restaurant lives up to its name. The food here does most certainly taste great and is served by people who are friendly and genuine.
This restaurant is nowhere near Chinatown, but nonetheless serves great Dim Sum daily. The ordering process is simple. They provide a laminated menu with photos of each item that you take a felt marker to indicate your desire to order that item.
The hot tea ☕️ was excellent and served in a most brilliant way. They serve the hot pot of tea on a special stand that has a lit candle 🕯 below it to keep the pot of tea from going cold! Just like a buffet burner that would keep buffet items hot.
This restaurant has been redecorated from the old Pizza Hut days and makes for an excellent Dim Sum experience. The prices are reasonable too.
I am pleased to know this place now and will come back again.

Came here because our regular place was having a private function. We were seated immediately by a friendly host (given the restaurant was empty at 10:30 a day after Chinese New year).
This decor is very minimalistic and is just a place to eat.
This place is kid friendly with plastic cutlery and cup and the service is very attentive but not overwhelming.
The food itself is satisfactory, but lacking some of the flavour many other that dim sum places excel at.

We came for dim sum. The layout of the restaurant is awkward but clean. Can accommodate larger tables. We waited for 50 minutes for our order with only one dish arriving after 20 minutes. The rest of our order took the full 50 minutes and didn't start to arrive until after we complained. The food was very tasty but I'm not sure it was worth the wait and the price. I really wish this restaurant would do better with service and service time. It was so bad that what would have been 4 stars down to 3. We ordered a separate order ahead of time and told them to bring that out. We did a second order for rest of family. We had a big party of 14 but that doesn’t factor in since they are just dropping off food and not cleaning. We waited over 1 hour for our first order but only 2 out of the 8 dim sum dishes. Basically the entire service time was 2.5 hours for a dim sum restaurant which is unheard of. At least 2 tables who came after us got their food and left before us. We waited 30 min for them to get us hot sauce even. It actually was not too busy today. We asked our waitress why the service was slow today. She gave us attitude and walked away. We just wanna know! Should I come back?
I hope the owner/ manager takes this seriously.

I love the food at this restaurant. They have some of the best Chinese delectables in Calgary based on my experiences (I may need to get out more, but I'm not confessing to that here!) The staff are pleasant and attentive. The decor is open-air and on the plain, utilitarian side, but they can seat a lot of people and have some larger tables for big groups. Try it once and see if you agree with me about the food.

Used to be our usual dim sum place as we went once a week. Dim sum's were pretty good. Service was good too. However, the quality couldn't keep up. Prices increased but food quality seemed to go down. It kind of got to the point that the price and what you are getting is not equal.
We go there less often now. Too bad.

I randomly discovered this place called Han Restaurant and it’s a hidden gem. Their food is seriously delicious. The deep-fried spicy chicken was to die for! MUST TRY! they’re crunchy, spicy, and just downright finger-licking good ( they have non spicy option as well).
And I've got to give a shoutout to their tofu and noodles. They were absolutely amazing! The tofu was silky and flavorful, and the glass noodles were rich of flavour. I still can't believe how reasonable their prices are for such high-quality food.
So, if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a great place to eat with reasonable price and portion, you've got to check out Han Restaurant.

3.5 overall - a decent spot to go for some authentic home cook styled food. Flavoured on the heavier side for some things (not for the bland taste palette). Everything is reasonably priced in terms of Calgary chinese food (average $15-20). There is a lot of food with spice here. This place is located inside the mall and has many tables. Ideal setting for groups of 4 and less but surely can do larger tables as well.

I like the place, but I find that some of the flavors would be a little more intense. The heat (2 peppers rating) of the fan dan noodles and the spicy beef noodles were a bit lite.
