The Vladivostok Fortress Museum is a sprawling complex with guided tours and military history exhibits. Construction began in 1878 as a defense against potential Japanese attacks, although it was never completed. The museum showcases old cannons, weaponry, maps, photographs, and documents that narrate the city's history. It offers insight into the city's defense perspective through dioramas and artifacts. While some signage needs repair and not everything is in English, it remains an intriguing visit for history enthusiasts.
Breathtaking view, our kids loved cannons there, lots of interesting military stuff.
Lela D — Google review
It tells the history of the city from the perspective of defending this part of Russia from attack. There are dioramas and artifacts as well as weapons. Not everything is in English but enough of it is to get the most important information. Some signage is in need of repair. It's definitely worth seeing if you're a fan of history

Gvardeyskaya Krasnoznamonnaya Podvodnaya Lodka S-56, Muzey is a significant part of Russian naval history and played a crucial role in World War II. It is now open to the public as part of the Naval Memorial Museum in Vladivostok. The museum has two parts: one dedicated to the history of the Russian Navy and the other showcasing the submarine itself. Visitors can explore its interior, which features original machinery and equipment.
Well this was about the fifth submarine we have visited on various holidays. S-56 is pretty special as it has a long history and is a real U-boat. During the war it moved from Vladivostok to Murmansk across Alaska, Panama Canal, Great Britain, and Iceland. The U-Boat was decorated with medals and was the best one at times of the Soviet Union during the war. Then it came back to Vladivostok. Now, half of the U-Boat is a museum and the other half has been new decorated with war items. There are also memorials for the sailors who died during the fights of past times. Inside the U-Boat, you can also see the sleeping places for the crew, living room and also navigation rooms,
Ross D — Google review
A land-based WW2 submarine that you can walk through. Try to get there before the tour busses deliver the crowds of tourists also you have to " go with the flow" through the vessel and outside dodge the selfie sticks. Take time to see the other attractions on the Korebelnaya embankment and adjoining Admiralsky and Theatrical park
Vincent O — Google review
Interesting to see inside of the submarine. However, if you're going alone without a guide you won't learn much. Everything is only in russian, but still you get to see how the submarine looked like on the inside.
Ivana R — Google review
It is quite good to look around because it is a special experience to watch a submarine with just 100 rubles. It was huge.

Eagle's Nest Hill, located in Vladivostok, is easily accessible from the city center by walking along Svetlanskaya Street and passing under Golden Bridge. The hill offers panoramic views of the city, including the bridge and a monument dedicated to the creators of the Slavic alphabet. This iconic landmark sits atop an extinct volcano and was named after Russian troops who fought in the Russo-Turkish war.
Easy to get to this iconic landmark with nice views over Vladivostok. In fact it is an extinct volcano and was named after Russian troops who fought during the Russo-Turkish war. But the views are panoramic especially the bridge and monunment dedicated to the creators of the Slaviic alphabet
Ross D — Google review
To get there from the city centre, walk along Svetlanskaya Street. After passing under Golden Bridge, continue to walk about 300- 400ms until you see a red bricked complex on your left, take the steps beside the red bricked complex as picture, till you see the bottom Funicular station as picture, which is opposite the Engineering School. Walk up stairs beside the Funicular tracks till you reach the upper Funicular station. You will see the Eagle's Nest hill just on the other side of the road. Take the underground pedestrian crossing to cross the road and follow the steps to go uphill. You are there!

Zarya, which means "dawn" in Russian, is a contemporary art center located in Vladivostok. It was established in 2013 within an old Soviet garment factory and has since become the first Far Eastern loft and art cluster in the city. The center offers a unique urban space with remarkable architecture and design, hosting various exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, and fostering an unconventional free atmosphere.
I visited this place as a tourist on the way going back to Vladivostok International Airport to see art works as I had a little time. I was able to see art works but not as much as I expected since I thought this place was an art museum. It seemed like it was sort of working place. What I really liked about this place was “Cafe Tree” which is inside of the building. Great dishes and beverages in reasonable price served by kind and nice staffs. Strongly recommend if you want to have a meal before leaving Vladivostok.
Hyeonsu L — Google review
The gallery has a very nice atmosphere and aesthetics. Exhibitions were alright and there is a cozy reading place, coffee shop on the first floor, and toilets available. Would recommend if you're looking for some quiet space.

The modern art gallery. The art works are wondeful and the cafe is also super great! But theres no sign for gallery so we took 30minutes to find it. In addition the explanation in english is not that good so we could not understand the artworks well. Some had explanation but not mant.

Really nice asian food restaurant in the centre of Vladivostok. We were attended by Alex, a young and helpful waiter that recommended us very nice dishes. We tried a bit of sushi, a warm salad, two soups and fish with apple sauce, they were awesome. We enjoyed the place to much as the decoration and the architecture of the building is just perfect.

Pan Asian restaurant ..i find the dishes taste bland. Decor wise is romantic and attentive svc.
El V — Google review
I have no doubt for chef and cook in the restaurant. And also live whole crab will be awesome. Ramp meat was so good. And the beer was good too. But crab lag was disappointing. I visited here this morning. There's no freshness, no fullness in the crab shell. I suggested to manager to think about the quality for their reputation. I don't any more person disappointed at the crab with saying holy crab after me. And I hope success of this restaurant. I hope to taste something better at the next visit.
Dongheon L — Google review
Great cocktails, amazing seafood, the cod is the best in the world. Wasabi prawns and wok fried scallops were so fresh and delicious. Even if you're vegetarian as I am, the options are top notch: burrata and mango (surprisingly excellent combination), eggplant tempura and mixed Chinese salad. Service was perfect too!
Rett P — Google review
it's pretty valuable restaurant.I think July we visited was not the King crab season. All the other menus were great, but the King crab was almost empty. Especially, there was no torso at all. Still, the reason I recommend Zuma is because it has excellent cuisine, a luxurious atmosphere, and a very nice staff.
Mimi Y — Google review
This restaurant is really amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious, food and cocktails. The decor is very beautiful, service is good. Prices are high, we were two and we paid 8500rb = 120usd with only one main course. The only one problem which is common in russia is the english Menu and the english speaking waiters, they found me an English menu with wrong prices and there was no English speaking waiter. Overall, I recommend it
Moad T — Google review
It deserved as the best seafood restaurant in the Vladivostok. They all were kind ,smiling and served good foods I ordered , the king crab was quite small under 1kg though. Now, there is the King crab festival. I could get a king crab with a special price 1400RB/kg.

Quality food and drinks. Recommend the seafood cream soup and crab tempura. This is a high end restaurant so price high compared to local places

An incredible place! Yes, it is busy, and most likely you will have to wait to be seated, but it’s so worth it. Great and very unique atmosphere/spirit, delicious food, very pleasant servers. El V — Google review
It's open at 12 o'clock, and visitors wait in line 30 minutes ago. It's not traditional Russian food. It suits Korean tastes well, but it's salty as a whole. The basic drink, Lemonade, was really bad. There are many locals, but there are a lot of Korean customers. Only cash or Visa can be paid. The staff greet us very kindly and animatedly. South Korea's early atmosphere is similar to Family restaurants. It's a little noisy. I feel uncomfortable because I have to decide on the tip in front of the staff when I pay. It's worth a try, but it's not a must course.

The Triumphal Arch for Tsar Nicholas II in Vladivostok holds historical significance as it commemorates the visit of Nicholas Alexandrovich, who later became Russian Imperator Nicholas II. Built in 1891, the arch was demolished around 1930 but was restored in 2003 to mark Nicholas's 135th anniversary. This colorful and ornate arch is a replica of the original one and stands as one of the most beautiful attractions in town.
Nice historical Arch in Central Park near seaside walk. Eventhou it is old but kept very well. Nearby few other interesting places to visit and also war memorial, church, submarine and much more.

Tucked away in the trees but found by masses of tourists for a good photo opportunity. An interesting structure with four arches between the four columns. Smaller than I expected in Russia! Take the walk up the hill for a look at Gorky theater if you in the area.

The arch was built in honor of the visit to our city in honor of the Prince Nicolas the heir to the royal throne - when he visited Vladivostok in 1981. To expand his horizons, Nikolai Alexandrovich made a world trip at that time and the sea stage of the Tsarevich’s journey just ended in Vladivostok. Local authorities, learning about this, decided in honor of the arrival of the distinguished guest to build the Arc de Triomphe, which should further emphasize the solemnity of the event. Given the fact that the prince arrived in Vladivostok by sea, the place for future construction was chosen with all scrupulousness and thoroughness - it was decided to build the Triumphal Gate on Admiral's Marina. The choice was largely influenced by the fact that not far from the chosen place is the coast of the famous Golden Horn Bay. It was here that the founders of our city once landed, and it was from here that Vladivostok subsequently began. The heir to the royal throne during his visit laid not only a monument to Admiral Nevelsky, a dry dock for repairing ships, but also a new railway with a stone station - all these structures were preserved in good condition, and sow the day. According to historians, the visit of the crown prince contributed to the rapid development of the city. The arch itself consists of four, separately standing, stone foundations with gray-yellow walls erected on them, decorated in turn with ancient Russian multi-colored ornaments. The building is completed by a light blue roof with blue ridges, resembling an octagonal high pyramid with its outlines, on the tip of which a double-headed gilded eagle rises.

It's an arch related to the history of the city. One of the main tourist attractions of Vladivostok.

The Glass Beach in Istanbul is a beautiful attraction that is popular with tourists. The beach is composed of real glass pieces, and unfortunately people leave a lot of garbage after themselves. Thanks to the team who take care of this place, the beach is still an impressive sight. The views are picturesque, and the cleanliness of the beach is appreciated. There is also a BBQ area available for visitors.

During Soviet times, Ussuri Bay near Vladivostok was used as a dumping ground for discarded beer, wine, and vodka bottles, as well as porcelain. Over time, the North Pacific's powerful waves washed the shattered glass and porcelain into millions of smooth, colorful "pebbles." Today, this once-barren and polluted area has become a beloved tourist attraction, known as Glass Beach. Visitors from around the world pay to experience its extraordinary beauty.

The Sukhanova House Museum is a captivating glimpse into the life of Alexander Sukhanov, a state adviser during the czarist era in Vladivostok. Nestled within one of the few remaining wooden mansions from the 19th century, this museum showcases not only his contributions to Primorsky Krai but also offers an authentic experience of historical living conditions. Visitors can explore well-preserved furnishings and fixtures that evoke a sense of nostalgia for days gone by.
Price its 200 rub, its short time to see for museum, its wooden house before getting in should cover the shoes with plastic they provided it. All the furniture in the living room is from the second half of the XIX century.

The 19th century is presented, made in Russia, Japan, France and Germany. At the same time, I got acquainted with the main exhibition of the museum: the house and family life of an official of the administration of the Primorsky region of the 19th century, the father of 6 children! The officials of the century before last, I tell you, lived very modestly! The museum staff was very friendly, they gave us a tour and introduced us to the history of our city using the example of the Sukhanov family. We liked everything, but it was a little chilly, and we were freezing at the end of the excursion.

Staff is polite. But. BEWARE!!! The chef is either careless or just evil. The menu says you ought to inform staff of your food allergies. We asked to add no garlic anywhere. The waiter asked us to change our order because of garlic oil used in cooking. So we did. We both ordered fish. Mine was fish steak with mushrooms. It came badly overdone. My partner ordered dorado fish. After he had finished eating he found a couple of giant cloves of garlic inside the fish. Ask yourself what if?! It’s no joke. Is the Chef careless or sick?! Luckily it’s not too bad in our case. But if you have allergies BEWARE of this place.

Nestled in the heart of Vladivostok, the Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum of Far East History is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and culture seekers alike. Established in 1884 and welcoming visitors since 1890, this museum showcases an impressive array of collections that span various eras. From archaeological artifacts to ethnographic displays that illuminate the lives of the region's indigenous peoples, each exhibit tells a unique story about Primorsky Krai's rich heritage.
Nice Muséum with a diversity of exposition from Egypt, to Siberian life, army and Soljenitsyne. They work in front of the museum so used the door next to it.

Absolutely not worth it the time and money. Your experience starts with a extremely rude young lady that works as security guard. She thinks we are entering a nuclear facility and not a museum. She is aggressive and certainly will destroy your mood. Further the museum is ultra small and exhibition rooms are randomly connected. It's a petty

It's the museum where you can discover the culture and history in Vladivostok. I like the external appearance of the building because it seemedvery old.
TMkimani — Google review
For Russian standards a relatively good museum. Two points for improvement: 1) don’t rip off foreigners. It is not justified to charge them double the price. For them the quality of the museum is less (see 2) If the museum is short of funds it should work on securing them elsewhere instead taking advantage of guests. 2) very little of the exhibition text is in English, nothing in Chinese or Japanese. Given that these visitors pay more there should be more in their languages and less in Russian.

Moonshine is a stylish and chic establishment with a great vibe. The cocktails are awesome, and the staff is helpful. However, some customers have reported less than satisfactory experiences with the service. There were incidents of overcharging and refusal to return change for small amounts. Additionally, some patrons found certain drinks to be too strong or not to their taste. Despite these issues, Moonshine remains an attractive option for those seeking a trendy atmosphere and well-crafted cocktails.

The Antique Automobile Museum is a fascinating collection of rare motorcycles and cars from various countries, including Japanese and German vehicles obtained as war trophies, Soviet cars, and mid-20th century cars. The museum is housed in a former Soviet battery built in 1933-34, which also serves as a military museum. Visitors can explore the underground areas of the battery. One unique feature of the museum is that visitors can sit in some of the cars and take pictures.

(Translated by Google) I was at the establishment with a group of people on November 27th. The first impression is a pleasant place, beautiful interior, good music. But what happens next is a complete nightmare... When we asked to serve dishes at the same time (5 people: 2 desserts, French fries, cheese sticks, salad), they said that this was most likely impossible: some of the dishes would be cold (which is funny, because the dishes were absolutely simple). As a result, we waited an hour for the order (!!!). And then they brought it when we ourselves began to rush the waiter. The fries were cut into huge chunks, were cold and very soft. The dessert was taken out right in front of us from the display case (couldn’t this have been done earlier?!) The waitress Yulia always stood behind the cash register with a bored look, 2 steps away from us, napkins and dirty dishes were not removed, the call button could be pressed 5 times - zero reaction. By the way, she later took off her badge. Bottom line: not the best establishment in the city, with not the most excellent cuisine and careless service. We won't come again.

The performance was performed on the main stage; the hall was spacious, the distance between the rows of seats was comfortable for tall people. Children are provided with extra pillows. I think it’s not convenient to watch the performance on the 1st row, since the stage is quite high, and you will have to watch the performance with your head up. There was no buffet as such at the children's performance, but a table was allocated where theater employees sold water, gingerbread, lollipops, and Alyonka cakes (from 50 to 150 rubles). And there was also face painting in the hall (150-300 rubles). The performance itself is colorful, with light and sound special effects, beautiful scenery and costumes. The kids liked it. The lobby has been renovated in Art Nouveau style. To get to the toilet, you need to climb 2 flights of steep stairs.. The same must be done to get to the balcony... This is very inconvenient. There are no elevators here, although it could be done, in GUM, in the same old building, there are already 3 elevators: 2 from the original shafts, and one was added. So the theater needs to make an elevator at least in an open shaft. The performance itself was good, the impressions remained positive.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Paul, a Protestant church in Vladivostok, is an architectural gem designed by German architect Hugo Junghandel in the early 20th century. It stands as the city's oldest surviving religious building and showcases a distinctive North German Gothic style. The church has had a varied history, serving as a movie theater, club, and even housing the Pacific Fleet Museum before being returned to believers in 1997.
Nice protestant church in a good condition.

(Translated by Google) The oldest church building in the city, built in 1909, is a recognized architectural masterpiece of Hugo Georg Junghandel in a distinct German Gothic style. In pre-revolutionary Vladivostok there was a fairly large German diaspora. With the advent of the Soviets, the flock was dispersed, partially shot in 1935, and Pastor Reichwald, according to the tradition of that time, was sent on a business trip to the camps. The following year, the building was transferred to the naval forces of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. There was a cinema here. Gorky, the Pacific Fleet Petty Officers Club, and in 1950 the Military History Museum of the Pacific Fleet was organized here. At the entrance there was a rather extensive, partly superior to the modern, composition of artillery pieces and a T-18 tank, and in place of the altar there was a bust of the main navigator of all times and peoples, V.I. Lenin. In 1997, the building was transferred to the Lutheran community. Repair and restoration work took 12 years. In 2006, an organ was brought from Australia and installed. In addition to the services of the Lutheran community, the church hosts German language training, charity events and organ music concerts.

And, preferably, it would all be overgrown with the dense, impassable taiga of friendship. The fort was restored a little, patched up, but we really didn’t like the fact that games are held in the underground part of the fort, there is noise and hubbub, which does not allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this place. If you want to spend time educationally, learn the history of the Vladivostok fortress, then I recommend ordering a tour in advance, for example, at the digger club. The tenants themselves do not do this, they just take you through the dungeons. Also, do not be lazy to walk along the parapet. From there, a beautiful view of the low-water bridge and Kovrizhka Island opens up, and you can also go down into the moat and inspect the trunk. It is also worth walking to the stronghold letter Z, which blocked the fort on the right side.

A large city park, mostly covered in tree shades. Has a large Orthodox church, too.

Nice for a walk and a relaxing time isolated from the city noise... The bad side is that not much maintenance is given to it so pathways, gardens and benches are exposed to the weather damage

Since 1990 when park change ownership to Orthodox Church, the territory of it is dirty and unclean. It used to be amusement park and lot of entertainment, but now families lost the chances to walk with kids there. Before 1990 was much much better.

Observation deck
Eagle's Nest Observation Deck is a must-visit spot in Vladivostok, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and Zolotoy Rog (Golden Horn) Bay. It serves as an excellent introduction to the city, located at the geographical center and highest point of the old town. The viewpoint provides a bird's-eye perspective of Vladivostok, showcasing its beauty including the bay, bridges, new temple, and islands.
One of the things I have when I travel to a new city is that I make sure checking out the highest vantage point of the town. This spot is that for Vladivostok. No fancy stuff or entrance fee, but just a little hill with a wide open view to the city and its natural surroundings that are absolutely beautiful and comforting.

(Translated by Google) MUST BE HERE ⏹ Sopka Eagle's Nest is the geographical center, the highest point of the old city 🏙 and the business card of the capital of the region, and now of the entire Far Eastern Federal District. ⏹ On the southern slope there is the main cultivated viewpoint. It shows all the beauty of the center at a glance ✋: the bay, bridges 🌉, new temple ⛪, islands 🏝🏝 ⏹ But we're on top 🗻. From where the whole of Vladivostok will open at 360º. From the street Nerchinskaya from school 74 up and up 🆙🆙, to where there is enough clearance for the car, and a little bit on foot. ⏹ Some organizations like to attribute to the Vladik hills, including the eagle’s nest, the power 💪 of a mystical 👻 place. So on our visit, a couple of Zen people with a package of one and a half Zhigulevsky 🍻, sitting on a rocky ledge, comprehended the full depth of the mysticism of the port city. And for everyone it’s just a very “Good place” ⏹ The TV tower 🗼 flashes lights for all of us during the holidays. ⏹ About the name. Just as the height, according to various sources, is from 192 to 204 m, the name does not have 💯% accuracy. Most often, this is the Eagle's Nest, as the military called it when they built fortifications here. In honor of the heroic defense of the rock ledge at the Shipka Pass in Bulgaria 🇧🇬. And on the plans of the fortress of the early 20th century this name is there. But it seems to be known that the first name of Klykov Hill has not officially changed. There is also a legend that the mountain was simply Eagle Mountain, which logically follows from the fact that there is Tiger 🐯 and Snake Mountain 🐍 at a distance. And the Nest stuck when the lieutenant, who had lost everything at cards, settled there. ⏹ And about the Soviet project. Every graduate of a technical school of architecture can design the construction 🏗 of nice houses 🏘 on the slopes of a hill, but only a great architect can design an idea-driven large-scale project, even in 1940. But, just like the tsarist regime, the revolution did not allow the construction of a bridge across the Golden Horn Bay, and the war did not allow the Soviets to implement this project. Otherwise Ilyich and I would now be 270 meters high. (Original) MUST BE HERE ⏹ Сопка Орлиное Гнездо - географический центр, самая высокая точка старого города 🏙 и визитная карточка столицы края, а теперь и всего ДВФО.

The ideal location for the Vysotsky monument is away from the bustling main street, amidst a stream of people and passing cars, providing a peaceful environment to retreat and escape external distractions. The sculpture itself represents Vysotsky, someone who was universally relatable, close to everyone's hearts. Visitors can approach the monument, observe it closely, sit beside it and contemplate while reminiscing about the past.
(Translated by Google) The name of Vladimir Vysotsky in Russia is immortalized in the form of monuments and memorial plaques in many cities. The city of Vladivostok, which V. Vysotsky visited in 1971, was no exception. The monument to the bard was erected in Theater Square next to the theater. M. Gorky, in the very center of Vladivostok, at the end of July 2013. The monument to V. Vysotsky in our city is not just a sculpture, it is musical, and songs performed by a bard are heard from the speaker all year round. And also a wonderful idea of the monument itself - the musician is depicted sitting with a guitar on a bench, in my opinion very touching, as if the poet was alive. The patrons of the creation of the monument were: the head of the Vladivostok City Administration, Igor Pushkarev (the current head at that time) and the townspeople who were caring and truly loved the work of the bard. It is very good that there is such a place in the city where you can come at any time of the year, touch the work of such a talented poet of the last century, living and working among many of us, this is nostalgia for a bygone century, very ambiguous, rich in a number of tragic events , not simple facts of the history of our country.

One of the few places to look at in the city if you like religious places. The area was nicer few years ago, before the government moved one of the major city universities that was across a street to the Russian Island. Now its a bit of a "silent hill" place with local shops, students, and local ppl being switched to hostels, hotels and single-use tourists from neighbour countries.

I had very bad experience at the Pokrovskii Cathedral. I was seating on the chair inside of Pokrovskii Cathedral. One lady who was working for Pokrovskii Cathedral and wearing red knit sweater and winding her face with a scarf came to me and strongly grabbed my shoulder and pushed me to get out. At first i thought the chair wasn’t allowed to seat for visitors. However, i had found the reason why she made me get out. She just didn’t like that I was seating there with my legs crossed, so she pushed me to go out. I agree she might not happy the way i was seating there. However, i strongly don’t agree how she reacted. She shouldn’t have grabbed and pushed me without any speaking, even if she didn’t like the way i sit. And also she doesn’t have any right to let visitors go out, because it's not her own place. Obviously she was so rude. I really hope that she get educated to be qualified to work at Pokrovskii Cathedral. And also she has to know the way to communicate with other people with respectable way.

(Translated by Google) Stepan Osipovich Makarov is a very famous person in our city. Vice Admiral of the Imperial Navy, winner of the gold medal of the Russian Geographical Society, explorer of the north and innovative shipbuilder. Thanks to his high qualities, diligence and curiosity, Stepan Osipovich achieved enormous success both in service and in research. Makarov made a great contribution to the development of the Russian fleet, for which several maritime universities were named after him. Unfortunately, Stepan Osipovich was not destined to realize his full potential. He died in 1904 in the war with Japan. In Vladivostok, a monument to the admiral was erected back in 1967. Then he stood on Lugovaya. Later, the monument was moved to the Embankment, where it now stands, peering into the sea. By the way, I believe that at the end of the Soviet era the monument was supplemented with a commemorative plaque. As usual, this is a historical vinaigrette, seasoned with ideology. It’s not clear what prevented me from throwing it away when moving. Otherwise, a beautiful square and a monument to a great man worthy of memory.

(Translated by Google) The monument to Vice Admiral Stepan Osipovich Makarov was erected on July 24, 1999, not far from the Ocean cinema, on Naberezhnaya Street, 3. Before that, it was located on Lugovaya Square and was moved due to the construction of a transport interchange. In general, the monument was originally opened in 1967. Stepan Osipovich Makarov is a Russian naval commander, oceanographer, polar explorer, shipbuilder, vice admiral, who made a significant contribution to the development of new territories, created an icebreaker fleet and trained a galaxy of naval officers. One of the streets of the city of Vladivostok is named in honor of the military merits of Vice Admiral Makarov, and the Pacific Naval Institute (TOVMI) also bears his name. A wide staircase leads to the monument; in 2010, the sculpture and memorial plaque were restored. From here there is a beautiful view of the Amur Bay, there are a lot of green spaces and flower beds around, in general a wonderful place, almost in the city center, for relaxation, meetings, solitude from the bustle of the city. It is especially beautiful in the evening when the sun is setting.

The tourist attraction Памятник В.И.Ленину, also known as the Monument to V.I. Lenin, is a popular landmark that draws visitors from all over. This site commemorates the influential figure of Vladimir Lenin, with a sculpture dedicated to him. Located in an accessible location, it serves as a significant historical and cultural symbol. The memorial evokes an appreciation for Lenin's role in shaping Russia's history and ideology during the Soviet era.
Installed in 1930. On the pedestal are inscribed winged Leninist words he said on November 20, 1922: "Vladivostok is far away, but, after all, this is a city of ours." The decision to raise funds for the monument to Lenin was made by the working people of the city, who gathered at the forecourt when they received news of his death in 1924. Before the monument was erected in the city by the workers of car repair shops on May 1, 1925, a plaster bust was installed on a pedestal of five wheelsets on the territory of the depot on the First River. Then a bronze monument was brought from Leningrad to Vladivostok. Authors: architect —Y. A. Trautman, sculptor - V.V. Kozlov, who had previously created a figure for the monument in Leningrad near Smolny, erected in 1927, and the monument in Vladivostok is exactly the same. The sculpture is cast in bronze by the workers of the factory “Red Vyborzhets” in Leningrad. In 1964, the Komsomol of the city laid a capsule with a message-appeal under the monument: “Hello, happy people living under communism! We live in a great time, the time of development of virgin lands and flights into space. We are fighting for the passing red banner, we are participating in socialist competition. We envy you living in our communist future. ” In 1970, during the reconstruction of the square, the monument was moved a little higher on the hillside. In 1991, several dozen people made an attempt to dump the monument, but the communist pensioners managed to defend it.

A solitary, rather isolated statue overlooking the bus and railway station. Although large it's not easy to see and can easily be missed as people hurry by.

For over seventies, Lenin himself might be a big guy, but for young and trendy tourists nowadays, he is just a statue. No detail explanations, no stories, and no memories, why should I go there ?

The Memorial Ship-Monument "Krasny Vympel" is a historic ship with a fascinating past that visitors can explore during museum hours. Built in Finland in 1911, the yacht served various purposes before becoming a patrol ship named "Krasny Vympel" in 1923. It played a significant role in protecting the territorial waters of the Far East and participated in World War II.
This is a museum of sorts with some ships to view. But the best part is the walk along the harbour frontage which has a number of statues and sites as you head past S56 submarine. A very pleaseant area as well.

(Translated by Google) The story of the man who guards this memorial was informative. It’s cool when the history of ships is preserved in time, when you can look at them many years later, in approximately the same condition as it was before.. Well preserved, but you can’t go inside and look. Although the ship is tied, in large waves it sways very well if you climb to the very top..)

(Translated by Google) I visited in July 2023, it was interesting to look at a ship with such a glorious history (you can board the ship during museum opening hours). The ship was built in Finland in 1911. Until 1922, the yacht was at the disposal of the governor of Kamchatka, and in 1922 it moved to Vladivostok. In 1923, the ship became a patrol ship, renamed "Krasny Vympel" and carried out tasks to protect the territorial waters of the Far East, and took part in hostilities during the Second World War. On July 28, 1958, it was declared a memorial ship and placed in eternal berth on Korabelnaya Embankment in the city of Vladivostok.

Just looking at it, it looks like a patrol boat and a patrol ship. I saw a Korean person explaining to his friends that it was a type of destroyer (Choi Young, King Munmu, etc.). It seemed like he was from the Navy or Coast Guard, and I was quite embarrassed.
