Fort Henry National Historic Site is a captivating glimpse into 19th-century military life, nestled at the confluence of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. This restored British fortification, built between 1832 and 1840, showcases impressive limestone structures that served as a defensive stronghold. Visitors can immerse themselves in history through guided tours or explore independently while enjoying engaging daily activities like flag ceremonies, cannon firings, and musical performances.
A very well maintained national historic site to learn about Canadian history and its military past. We spent around a couple of hours exploring the fort thoroughly. There are several restaurants, cafés, and a collectibles shop inside the fort. Along with the historic structures, everyday items from the past, and specific sections dedicated to different purposes, visitors can also enjoy live performances and drills. They’re informative and interesting to experience. Though we didn’t opt for it, one can also sign up for archery and rifle classes, which look very interesting. Even though it was a public holiday, finding a parking spot wasn’t an issue for us. And the views from the top are fantastic too!

Fabulous place to head up to watch the sunset. We went on the haunted walk at night which was relatively cool except we had a young person as part of the tour maybe 10 or 11 years old who didn't follow any of the rules repeatedly made noise and Flash their flashlight which really ruined the ambience and the parents weren't doing much about it. Lots of cool spiders though!
Julia W — Google review
Good place for half day trip. Although, entry ticket is high compared to fort size and being national heritage size. Many restaurants inside the fort. Fort itself is well maintained and you can get free tour guide who explains different areas. Good collection of old guns, swords and some old cannons. Actors performing soldiers are very good and take their parts very active and seriously. They have good performances going on entire day which includes canon firing and gun firings. Overall good walk around the fort.
Nihar — Google review
Amazing history and a wonderful tour! We watched the guards marching and rehearsing, and they demonstrated the use of musical instruments, signals, and drums — we even had a chance to play the drums ourselves. The guards also demonstrated the firing of guns. The fort has many rooms on display, and the gift shop offers freshly baked bread from an on‑site oven. It was a very educational and memorable experience!
Judy H — Google review
Fort Henry was such a cool experience! The historic atmosphere, the costumed guides, and the live demonstrations (like the cannon firing and marching) really brought history to life. Great views over the lake and Kingston too. It’s fun for both adults and kids – especially the museum section and the tunnels. Totally worth the visit if you're anywhere near Kingston!
Amir K — Google review
A fantastic experience that is well worth the visit. Tickets are a little pricy but its made up for with fantastic staff that are all very knowledgeable about the fort and the history of it plus the live drills they perform. On top of this the views offered from the fort are breathtaking. I'd argue this is thee place to visit for anything historical about Kingston if you only had one place you could visit, this would be the one I would choose hands down.
Patrick B — Google review
To be fair before I begin, when we visited we were in the middle of a crazy hot period in the summer (heat warnings were in place) and a lot of Fort Henry is open and exposed, so our enjoyment may have been muted a little bit. Aside from the heat however, the tour and experience was very satisfying. The guided tour was somewhat informative although our guide seemed a little newer as he didn’t have answers for all questions asked. The costumed staff were a nice touch, however more context on who they were or what their function was during the period was would have been nice. Bistro and shops seemed out of place and not fitting with the historical significance of the Fort which detracted from the visit. More information and context would have been nice.
Eric C — Google review
This was first time back at Fort Henry since I was a kid back in 1996. The fort still looks the same. This was also my family’s first time visiting. We did the guided tour & the guide was a young lady who I can’t remember her name was so very knowledgeable, took time explaining everything in simple terms for the kids to understand. Only downside was the group was very large so it was a bit hard to hear her voice & see some of the places inside the fort. The canon firing was awesome to see & so was the other demonstrations & the final drum parade was amazing. One other thing the guide or the ticket agent didn’t mention was to stay off the canons so don’t climb on them or you will get yelled at by the staff as it happened to a few people.

Bellevue House National Historic Site in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, is a restored Italianate-style villa that was once the residence of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first Prime Minister. The house, built in the 1840s and designated as a National Historic Site for its architecture, offers guided tours by staff dressed in period costumes.
We were hesitant to visit this site due to John A. MacDonald’s policies related to the Indian Act and Residential Schools. However, we found that we could sign up for the ‘Unpacking MacDonald’ Tour which promised to explore MacDonald’s legacy…both the positive and the negative. The tour, led by Jake, a perk staff & student at Queens doing a PhD in History. The tour was excellent…informative, interactive & thought-provoking. The renovation (physical & cultural) that Parks Canada has completed in this location was obviously completed with a great deal of thought as well as consultation with local Indigenous & community members. The tour was 1.5 hrs and we easily spent another hour exploring on our own…listening to several of the videos and reading all the information & reflections. We highly recommend.
Tracy A — Google review
Nice museum on the life of our first Prime Minister, John A. Macdonald. The guide was dressed in the 1840s era. A tour of the house, which is beautiful, was really informative.
Cristine G — Google review
Came to know more about the history of the house and ended up being well informed. The house was well preserved and there are a lot of interactive stuff to do and learn from. The only thing we wish it had is some descriptive or information about the plants in the garden. Other than that, it's a lovely place to visit.
Vanne S — Google review
I've loved visiting this place since I was a small child. I've been here probably a dozen times over my life time. I brought my service dog last time and they had no issues which was refreshing. I never get tired of the history and the beauty of the house and grounds. When I was little I used to dream about living there.
CatMommy84 — Google review
Wonderful, with free admission (guided tours for $). The grounds and house are quite beautiful and you'll appreciate the shaded grounds on hot days. Its also a nice in-between stop if going from downtown to Kingston Penetentiary. Learn a bit of history with plenty of interpretive panels and knowledgable staff at the house.
Mark A — Google review
A very informative place to visit to know so much information on the 1st prime minister of canada Sir John A Macdonald from his yonger years and his family history. And was free to visit because parks canada has a special this year 2025.

Great place to visit the rental the first PM stayed at. Yeah they didn't hide how he wasn't a good person but overall pretty cool to see a moment in time. The tour guides were informative.. especially the guy with the mustache and cool tattoos.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Kingston, Kingston City Hall is a stunning example of 19th-century neoclassical architecture that has stood since its construction in 1844. Once the seat of the Province of Canada, this grand building features an impressive domed clock tower designed by architect George Browne. Visitors can embark on guided tours to explore its captivating interior, including the breathtaking Memorial Hall adorned with stained glass windows honoring Canadian contributions during World War I.
My son and I spent 2 days walking all over the town of kingston. What a cool place right on the bank of lake ontario. Lots of cool buildings and museums. The most restaurants I've ever seen in a small area. Great place for a weekend getaway. Several cool bars and breweries to. Princess street is the main street to go down.
Jeremy B — Google review
I went on one of the free tours of Kingston City Hall. It was a lovely informative tour! My only complaint is that though there are dozens of huge portraits of male mayors hung up on every wall, Dr Jenny Trout (the first woman physician licensed in Canada that taught at the first women’s college of medicine which was in the city hall building) only has a plaque on a small side wall. Where’s the portrait!?
Anny C — Google review
A beautiful and historic landmark in the heart of Kingston! The architecture is stunning — especially the dome and the clock tower. The surrounding area is very lively, with parks, the waterfront, and market square nearby. Great spot for photos, relaxing walks, or learning about the city’s past. A must-see if you're visiting Kingston!
Amir K — Google review
Visited Kingston City Hall during my recent trip, and even just seeing it from the outside was an experience worth noting! 🏛️✨ The architecture is stunning — grand, historic, and beautifully maintained. The waterfront location adds to its appeal, making it a perfect spot for a stroll or some quick photos. 📸🌊 A must-see stop if you’re exploring downtown — majestic, picturesque, and full of history! ❤️

It’s a great spot for photos! I loved the purple lighting at night, and in the early morning it has such a cozy vibe. Grab a coffee and take a walk around, it’s really lovely.

Kingston is really suitable for City Walk! Kingston is a historic city with a history of more than 200 years. You can feel the traces of its history in every corner of this city. 🤔 It seems that after more than 200 years of historical accumulation, walking in this city always feels leisurely and comfortable. 😋 By the lake, you can see people enjoying the sunshine comfortably 🌞, on the road you can see Ding Ding cars carrying people enjoying the charm of this city☺️, and you can also see buildings after buildings washed away by history but with their own unique charm Buildings🧐, you can see Kingston’s kindness and love for people everywhere. Taking an aimless City walk here is probably the best way to express my love for it. 😘 So, are you ready for a city walk full of love in Kingston? 🥰

Kingston Penitentiary, a renowned maximum-security prison operational from 1830 to 2013, offers tours led by former guards. Visitors can also explore the city of Kingston on charming red trolleys that cover historic sites and share interesting facts about the area's history. The Friends of the Penitentiary Museum are committed to preserving and interpreting Canada's federal penitentiary system's captivating history.
What a great tour and learning experience. Our guide on August 25th 2025 at 2 pm for the extended tour, was absolutely amazing. She’s been there for 7 months and knew so much information and was able to answer so many questions. So professional and so friendly. She even took the time to explain certain areas which were not available for tourists. Do the extended tour much more to see. Definitely worth it!!!
Jamie K — Google review
We signed up for the 1.5 hour tour and had Adam as our tour guide. He was outstanding…enthusiastic, informative, inclusive and engaging. Loved his stories. A perfect voice for a tour guide and so glad that he addressed some of the injustices related to the correctional system of Canada, particularly related to the Indigenous population and those with mental health issues. The four former staff who shared a little about their experience were intriguing…Erich we had longer with them. The tour felt a little rushed…perhaps it should be a two-hour tour. People had to move quickly to keep up. There wasn’t really time for questions of either Adam or the former staff. We also wish we had made time to visit the museum across the road first as it would have enhanced the experience. It is free (donation requested). I also think that it would be good if the organization that runs this experience would have some exhibits to look at or a video…outlining the history of the correction system and how it evolved over the period the penitentiary was open, up until today. Maybe even have a section about how countries all over the world address crime, imprisonment and rehabilitation. It would really help inform the general public about these important topics.
Tracy A — Google review
The Express Tour was amazing, the 45 minutes just flew by. After seeing the size of the compound and all the different buildings I'm getting the longer tours would be even better; something to do on my next visit. Our guide Julian and the other security guard (unsure of his name) were both really friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk with. If you're interested in the history or location then this is certainly something you shouldn't pass up. Had a great time.
Sparkling I — Google review
As a former Correctional Officer, I was very interested to see this iconic piece of Canadian history first hand. The tour was excellent as our guide was very knowledgeable. We also spoke with several Correctional Officers who actually worked here. They had interesting stories to tell and were happy to answer our many questions. This tour is a must-see if you are ever in Kingston!
Dan T — Google review
I had the pleasure of attending the extended tour guided by Adam. He was incredibly knowledgeable and very humorous, making the experience more interesting but also light-hearted. As someone that grew up in the area and had relatives that worked in KP as well as surrounding penitentiarys, it was really amazing to walk the grounds and hear more indepth recounts. I will definitely recommend 👌
Angelica R — Google review
A very meaningful tour that is both educational and insightful. It offers a fascinating look into the history of the Kingston Penitentiary while also encouraging visitors to reflect on the past and its connections to the present. Highly recommended. We took the standard tour that the majority of tourists do. Our tour guide Allan is a very humorous and educational person that made the tour even more enjoyable.
Kevin S — Google review
I highly recommend the Kingston Penitentiary tour! We opted to take the 1.5-hour tour with our guide, William, and the experience was both fascinating and well-planned. A major highlight for me was discovering how accessible the entire tour is. I use a mobility scooter and had no trouble navigating around the various buildings. The convenience of nearby, free accessible parking was also a huge plus. William was a phenomenal guide, full of information and great stories. What made the tour even more special was meeting former prison guards who shared their firsthand experiences, adding a layer of authenticity you can't get from a textbook.
Emily B — Google review
Good tour with many former correctional officer's offering insight of this former prison. The guides we're friendly and helpful. I wish there was more to see with the standard tour like the other levels of the prison pr in the guaranteed tower to really showcase life as a correctional officer.

Lemoine Point Conservation Area is a 136-hectare nature reserve featuring a mix of field, forest, and marshland along the shores of Lake Ontario and Collins Bay. The area offers over 2,500 meters of shoreline for those seeking solitude or a leisurely walk amidst abundant plant and animal life. It's also home to Cataraqui Conservation's tree planting program and a native plant nursery run by the Friends of Lemoine Point.
Great place to be close to nature. Multiple trails to hike. Remember to take some birds seed along, you can even feed some friendly strangers. Restrooms are primitive, take your own TP. Multiple picnic tables on route. Great place to hike.
Liezl U — Google review
Took my fiance here to see the scenery and animals. Spent most of our time feeding squirrels and chipmunks. Good to see the chipmunks are so used to being fed, they took the peanuts right from her hand, with the last one pretty aggressively taking it! 😂🤣🤣 Can't wait for a next visit. She'd go every day if we lived closer. 😁👍
Tim M — Google review
A great place to go for a walk There are quite a few trail choices depending on how long you want to go. I love taking the trail along the shoreline with dips thru the forest. Tons of creatures like squirrels, chipmunks, turkey vultures and small birds line the trail paths.
Purple N — Google review
Want to feel like Snow White when furry forest creatures appear out of nowhere at your presence, This is the place! A beautiful park full of wildlife you can practically hand feed. Bring a container to hold seed for the turkeys, they're really gobblers! I still have all my fingers, I just wasn't expecting a 25 lb bird to materialize out of nowhere expecting yo be fed like everything else 🤷‍♂️ Plenty of shade and lots of benches along the way so you can pace yourself accordingly.
Leo B — Google review
Such beautiful scenery! I love feeding the birds — they often come right up and eat straight from my hands.
Ehsan A — Google review
Great area if you want to take a walk. Easy to walk, lots of animal friends you can meet.
Jin K — Google review
By far one of the best places in Kingston to come for a hike. 5 different trails, 1&5 tend to be your most crowded on busy days. It is a great place to interact with wild life. Bring bird seed and nuts if you wanna take some cool pictures. The squirrels literally come up to my service dog to great us, I LOVE IT
Nour K — Google review
We did the big loop. A nice gravel trail between the woods, through the meadow and along the shore of Ontario Lake. It's not what I'd normally consider as a hike but it was a nice and easy walk with some views of the lake and plenty of wild life. The trail is in a very good shape but it was quite buggy. For about half of the walk the trail was largely exposed. Enjoy!

Embark on a journey through time with Kingston Trolley Tours, where you can hop aboard a charming red trolley to explore the historic sites and attractions of Canada's second-oldest city. Led by knowledgeable guides, the hour-long tour covers significant landmarks such as the Royal Military College, Fort Henry, and Bellevue House, offering insights into Kingston's 300-year-old history.
We had a great time with Kingston Trolley Tours! The weather was perfect, and our guide, Chris, was super informative and easy to listen to. The tour lasted just over an hour and was packed with interesting facts and local history. Definitely worth it if you're visiting Kingston! Just a heads-up—strollers aren’t allowed on the trolley, so bring a carrier if you’ve got little ones. You can hop off at stops or stay on for the full ride. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience on the Kingston Trolley Tour! The tour was both scenic and educational, offering a well-paced overview of the city’s major landmarks and rich history. What really made the ride enjoyable was our tour guide, who was also the driver—he did a fantastic job narrating the city’s story with clarity and enthusiasm. Whether you’re new to Kingston or just want to see the city from a different perspective, this tour is a great choice. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful tour last night for the ghost experience. Richard was a fantastic tour guide of the spooky Kingston history. The ghost visitors to share their stories were a great addition to the tour and the time flew by! Definitely recommend snapping some photos at the asylum as you never know what or who you will see
Lisa P — Google review
It was super hot when we visited so we opted for the trolley tour over the walking tour. We stayed in the entire tire rather than hop on and hop off as we like to visit the places for longer (which we did on different days). Tour lasted for 75 minutes and provided a lot of information about Kingston. Information was obviously scripted and a bit rote not overall still good. We did find it a bit expensive for what it offered.
Tracy A — Google review
Richard was an informative, friendly driver/guide. Extended the tour by 30 minutes allowing us to see more sites including RMC. Trolley was clean and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Canada's Penitentiary Museum, also known as the Correctional Service of Canada Museum, is a must-visit attraction in Kingston. Located across from the famous Kingston Penitentiary, the museum offers a unique insight into Canadian correctional history. Visitors can explore artifacts and exhibits showcasing the role of Kingston in the country's prison system. The museum is housed in Cedarhedge, once the residence of the warden of Kingston Penitentiary.
As a museum is very interesting. Free access. As a human I had a very strange feeling about pain and horror people went through being locked in that environment. The museum itself is very impressive. Many documents, artifacts, all the history of the part of the reality we normally do not see. Thank you, people for this collections and stories.

Wow, what a thrilling experience touring Canada's Penitentiary in Kingston! Walking through those walls truly gave a chilling sense of how inmates lived. The visuals and descriptions of the famous riot were shockingly intense. Hearing real-time accounts from the staff was incredibly engaging and informative. The guides were absolutely the best, bringing history to life!

Stopped by hear earlier in the day to learn about some of the history before my KP tour later in the day. The staff were all really friendly and easy to talk to. Spent about an hour here and had a great time. Admission is donation based and they also have a small gift shop. We gave $20 for 2 people and also got a pin at the shop which I hope was acceptable.
Sparkling I — Google review
Good museum to see, entrance by donation. About 8 rooms to explore. If you have done the Penitentiary across the way this museum is just rounding off your visit. Penitentiary itself is way more exciting. But this one is good for a rainy day. Was expecting more original artifacts and real recollection of what has happened. Give no insight into the female Penitentiary. Disciplinary methods used in the prison is interesting though. History depicted is all prisons over Canada not just Kingston.

Oh this is a must a few years ago did the penitentiary tour was amazing. This place was even more amazing all the cool items to see from the penitentiary the bell that broke in the 1971 riot is there really a must check entry is by donation which is amazing to.
Paul C — Google review
The place is still free but donations is highly encouraged (contact less is the fastest way to go) Has a lot of exhibits to look at and I like that they have sample exhibits of the jail and the common items you'd find in one (the Penitentiary across the street did not have this) Highly supplements the tour from the Penitentiary though and you get to understand the history more by going to both these places.
Vanne S — Google review
Cool house full of history. The exhibits are incredibly interesting as a slice of prison life. Make-shift weapons, knives, escape tools, fake heads, incredible, how inventive inmates were. Admission is via donations, so that makes it a excellent must visit.

Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises offers a variety of sightseeing and dining tours to cater to different cruising preferences. The company introduced the WildCat, a high-speed catamaran that provides thrilling two-hour AdrenIsland cruises showcasing views of Boldt and Singer Castles, as well as one-hour Singer Castle Express cruises. For those who prefer traditional tours, options include the 1.5-hour Jewels of the St.
We had such a wonderful time celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary last night. Dylan (our server) was so amazing. He was seriously the best server we have ever had. We wish him the best of luck when he returns to BC for his studies. It truly was an amazing night on our Sunset cruise. This was our second time and it was the best so far!!

Took the 1000 Islands Dinner Cruise recently—great overall experience, but a few things to keep in mind. I was disappointed not to get a window table. Apparently, there is a premium upgrade for those, but it wasn’t offered to me—possibly because I was traveling solo. Still, it would’ve been nice to have the option, especially when scenic views are a big part of the experience. Doug, our guide and onboard entertainment, was excellent—fun facts, quirky island stories, and even real estate tips on the incredible homes we sailed past. He kept things engaging and light throughout the evening. The 3-course meal was solid: • Salad was fresh and simple—arugula, cranberries, feta. • Braised short rib was nicely presented and tasty, though the carrots were so undercooked they nearly qualified as raw. Knife said “nope.” • Cheesecake for dessert—classic and very tasty. Craft beer selection was a nice surprise, and the pre-meal bread and butter hit the spot. The air conditioning was intense—I had to wear my jacket during lunch, and some guests used menus to block the vents. Pro tip: layer up. Big plus: the upper deck is perfect for photos and catching views if you’re not lucky enough to sit by the window. Would I do it again? Maybe! Especially to impress a guest. But next time I’d definitely request the window table upgrade, go for the fancier appetizer, and share a nice bottle of wine.

Amazing cruise, lots of history and great views. 3hr cruise is worth it. Staff are very friendly. Go early to line up for cruise to get a good seat upstairs. Boat has lots of steps, main level has seating and no steps. Boat has a mc + music sharing facts about surrounding areas.

My partner and I went on the 3-hour 1000 Islands lunch cruise aboard the Island Queen ship from Kingston, and we had such a great time! The entire experience was smooth, scenic, and so well organized. We booked the option that includes a 3-course lunch, and as vegans (plant-based diet), we were honestly impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness of the menu. We started with a fresh salad, followed by a delicious main dish with cabbage and black beans, and ended with a rich vegan chocolate dessert that was just perfect. Our server, Jack, made us feel super welcome and taken care of the entire time. Lunch is served on the second deck with reserved seating, we had a lovely window spot, which made the views even better. There was also live music on the first floor. One of the highlights for us was the tour guide, David More. He’s a fantastic storyteller and so knowledgeable about the region. We were lucky to be seated close to him and could follow along as he shared fascinating stories about the islands, their history, and the families that once lived (or still live!) there. He's also a writer and had some of his books onboard, we even picked one up! The time flew by, especially when we got near Gananoque, cruising through clusters of islands dotted with cabins, mansions, and cottages. I’d 100% recommend this tour, whether you're visiting Kingston or live nearby, it’s a fun, delicious, and enriching way to spend an afternoon. You won’t notice the hours go by!
Julieta C — Google review
It was a nice experience. Ywo decks. Two small kiosks are available on each deck, serving snacks and beverages. Of course, at an extra cost. The attendants were pleasant to taking orders and serving. The tour was for three hours, which was a bit of a stretch. After an hour and a half, guests started talking amongst themselves. No one was paying much attention to the voice-over narration or seeing outside of the boat. Two hours should be more than enough.
Shaik R — Google review
For best views, go on the top deck. The upper right bench is the best 👌 That was a wonderful 3-hour guided tour ❤️ The 1000 islands are amazing.
Muhsinah S — Google review
I've been on 3 cruises this summer using my Kingston Residents Pass, the 3 hr Heart of the Islands tour, the shipwreck tour and the 1 hr discovery tour. The 3 hr tour and 1 hr tours were both great, the shipwreck one was a waste of time. The 3hr tour takes you through alot of the 1000 Islands, up to Gananoque and back to Kingston, you see a lot of private islands and cottages as well the Kingston harbour. Very relaxed and lovely. One hr tour was mostly focused in the area close to Kingston, this tour was more busy but definitely still good. Not quite as good as the 3 hr tour but if this is all the time you can afford, it's still worth it. The shipwreck tour was the worst out of the 3. It was a very similar route to the 1 hour tour and we assumed we'd be able to see shipwrecks, but you can't. You don't get close to most of them and some you bypass completely. Maybe it was silly of me to think I could see a shipwreck from above the water but I guess that's what comes with calling it a Shipwreck cruise. They have someone from a museum doing the talking and she seemed quite knowledgeable but they relied heavily on the use of pre recorded videos of dives, which I saw absolutely none of. The cruise was busy and I was unable to get a seat in view of the tv screen, which depending on how the sunlight is hitting it or the numerous technical difficulties they were having, wouldn't have been able to see much anyway. I'm glad I didn't pay for it due to my residents pass but I definitely felt bad for the tourists I was speaking with who did. So to sum up- both the 3 hour or 1 hour sightseeing cruises were good and worth it, but don't bother with the shipwreck cruise, unless you're just happy to be on the water on a small ship, which is still pleasant in itself.

A Truly Exceptional Learning Experience As a student at Queen’s University, I can confidently say that it has been an incredible journey so far. The university’s academic environment is both challenging and rewarding, encouraging students to think critically and push their intellectual boundaries. Professors here are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in students’ success, offering support and guidance. I love being part of this family ❤️

One of the best campus I have ever seen. Most of the places in Kingston belongs to Queen’s university. The buildings are stone buildings and so nice to see it. Literally looks like England. Felt it was a different place in Canada. Must place to visit if you are interested in architecture. They have many halls and departments which looks so amazing!

Queen’s University’s campus is absolutely remarkable. Every academic building exudes cultural depth, and the historical legacy gives the entire university a sense of calm sophistication. Among all the universities I’ve visited, this campus is by far my favorite—rich in character, inspiring, and full of meaning.

Recommend booking a guided tour! Apparently the exterior of all the buildings went through renovations this year! This university is centrally located in downtown Kingston, close to city centre, harbor and the Kingston general hospital. The whole campus covers such a massive area which makes me feel like it is a city within a city!

Finally, we are glad to see many happy and excited young faces in the campus after one and half year's lockdown. Forget the tough and boring online learning, enjoy your university life again everyone! The architecture and history make it one of the most attractive universities in Canada. The once Canada's capital, Kingston, adds another layer of beauty with cultural and natural charm.

Murney Tower Museum National Historic Site of Canada is a 19th-century defense tower located in Kingston, Ontario. It is part of the Kingston Fortifications National Historic Site of Canada, which includes five military installations. Built in 1846 as a response to tensions with the USA, Murney Tower was designed to safeguard the city's naval dockyard and other important areas. The museum features various exhibits and offers insight into its strategic significance during its time.
I recently visited the Murney Tower Museum National Historic Site of Canada with my family, and it was a fantastic experience! The admission is free, and we appreciated the opportunity to make a donation at the end of the tour, with both card and cash options available. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Kingston's history, with well-preserved artifacts and informative displays. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. If you're in Kingston, this museum is a must-visit!

This site is simple and small. It would hardly take 15-30 mins to look inside and out. There is no tickets for entry but they accept donations. Great artwork on display. During the time of our visit, only 1 exhibit was open. It was dedicated to showcasing famous Canadian Indeginous/Inuit art. Other parts of the gallery were closed for renovations. Ticket purchases were not required put rather a donation to the gallery is required. We donated $20

First off, you can go to this place for free. They have really good selection of art. Modern, contemporary, historic. Bader gallery where Rembrandt and company was displayed was our favorite. Covid protocols are being followed, masks and sanitizers are available for everyone. House of Agnes was beautifully decorated. You could easily spend hours here. The whole place was sparkling clean and well appointed. The staff were all friendly and courteous. Can't wait to bring my daughters here.

This gallery really doesn't want visitors from off campus. I brought my kids here today and you are not allowed to park behind the building or anywhere nearby except in 1 spot that was occupied. I called and was told the one spot had opened but when I went to it my car was too big and it is only a Ford fusion. I loved the quilt collection and other works when I lived on campus years ago but am not able to visit now, very disappointing.

Kingston Waterfront is a classic landmark offering a magnificent view of Lake Ontario. The 8km waterfront pathway provides ample space to enjoy the beauty and is conveniently located near downtown. Heading west along the pathway leads to Breakwater Park, known for its stunning sunset views. This picturesque area features parkland, level trails, and connects several top attractions in Kingston.
What an amazing place and waterfront! I wish Belleville could have something close to what Kingston has. There is so much more to do, and the waterfront trail is perfect. You can see Old Fort Henry and so much more. We'll be back soon, and I would recommend this place to everyone 💯. Give it a try, and you won't be disappointed!

Very cozy little town, filled with good vibes and great music when we went. Make sure to check the public market as well for artisans products and fresh produce. The waterfront is really relaxing whether you want to take the view in with a coffee or simply enjoying a good book on one of the beach chairs.

Beautiful 😍 The whole area is wonderful. There are a lot of restaurants and so many nice people. If you are into walking along the waterfront, then this is a must. It is not an area with attractions but it's clean and very upbeat. There's are a LOT of students, so the noise level is way up there. If you don't like it loud and very busy, they go during the week because the weekend is crazy. Great for drone footage, too. I will definitely visit again.

The Kingston Waterfront is one of the city’s best features — a long, scenic stretch that combines parks, marinas, trails, and lake views all in one. The paved path runs for several kilometers, connecting spots like Lake Ontario Park, Confederation Park, and Breakwater Park, making it perfect for walking, biking, or just sitting by the water. You’ll find benches, picnic areas, and even swimming access at certain points in summer. The area is always clean and feels safe, with plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby if you want a break. Sunsets over the lake are especially beautiful, and the vibe is calm but lively, with locals and visitors alike enjoying the space. Parking can be tricky in peak hours, but it’s worth the effort for the view and atmosphere.

Restaurant
Chez Piggy Restaurant & Bar is a globally inspired dining spot housed in a former limestone stable, offering an outdoor dining space for patrons. The culinary expertise of the team, led by Stev who is a graduate of the Stratford Chefs School, brings forth a diverse menu with options for alternative diets such as vegan and gluten-free dishes. Known for its sustainable seafood offerings and relaxed atmosphere, this family-owned establishment has been a staple in Kingston's culinary scene for over 40 years.
Very nice restaurant in an old limestone stable with a turn of the century tavern feel. Loved the location of this restaurant. The main entrance is tucked away through a small alley where you're met with the patio and little garden area. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with our group of 10. We had tried to make reservations for the patio. Unfortunately, due to our party size and it being a Saturday, we settled for indoors. Really enjoyed the upper seating area and the decor. Food was excellent and cooked to perfection. They also have their own beer that was local and very refreshing.
KG82 — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chez Piggy in Kingston, and overall, the experience was fantastic with just a few minor areas for improvement. Firstly, the atmosphere here is truly special—warm, cozy, and inviting, creating the perfect setting whether you’re dining out with friends, family, or on a special date. From the moment you step inside, you sense that it’s a place with history and character, making it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food itself. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. The oysters, in particular, were outstanding—fresh, juicy, briny, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re a seafood lover, these oysters alone justify a visit. The menu offers an impressive range of dishes, blending creativity with familiar comforts, and each item we tried surpassed expectations. However, one area where Chez Piggy could improve significantly is in the quality of their service. While the staff weren’t unfriendly, our server seemed a bit inattentive and disengaged at times. It felt like we were waiting longer than necessary between courses, and there was a notable lack of attentiveness, especially considering how excellent everything else was. Given the overall quality of the dining experience, it’s clear that the restaurant would greatly benefit from enhanced staff training and a more attentive service approach. Despite this, the incredible quality of the food and charming atmosphere ultimately overshadowed the service shortcomings. I genuinely enjoyed my time at Chez Piggy, and with just a bit more attention to detail in service, this could easily be one of the top dining experiences in Kingston. Overall, I highly recommend checking out Chez Piggy for their exceptional oysters and thoughtfully prepared dishes. Just go prepared for a possibly slower pace of service. I’m optimistic that with improved service standards, Chez Piggy could easily become the go-to spot in Kingston for a truly memorable dining experience.

We ate here because of the ambiance in the alley the restaurants are in, which is really cool and somewhat romantic. We chose this restaurant because they are dog friendly and let me tell you, they were they friendly. Service was excellent and the food was very good. It's a little pricey however it's the tourist area of Kingston so most restaurants are. Really enjoyed eating here, I highly recommend it.

It was ok. Server was great. Nice guy, older cool guy. Knew the menu very well. Great recommendations. Salads were kind of wilted Steak was thin, well cooked but unseasoned. Roast vegetables were kind of the bottom of the roast pan scraps. Pasta was average. There are much better places for similar budget in Kingston. I won’t go back anytime soon.
Crabby E — Google review
The ideas behind the menu items are awesome - definitely one of the more creative brunch menus in Kingston. That being said, it didn't quite hit that 10/10 sweet spot youre looking for. Absolutely solid, but there are higher highs to hit! The restaurant itself is wonderful, physically and spiritually. Top class service too. Definitely hit it up if you've got cash to burn in kingston!
Mateo O — Google review
Set in a beautifully restored 1806 limestone stable, Chez Piggy radiates rustic charm blended with contemporary flair. The cozy courtyard patio—often dappled with sunlight—offers relaxed al fresco dining, and is notably pet‑friendly. Inside, the upstairs dining room is bright and airy, with evocative artwork, warm wood tones, and exposed stone walls. The Service and food was excellent. We ordered the Chefs Specials for the day that did not disappoint. On a final note, If you're visiting Kingston and seeking a dining experience that mixes character, creativity, and comfort with reliable service—and don't mind paying a bit for it—Chez Piggy is a top choice. It’s particularly strong for date nights, brunches, or memorable meals with friends or family. I'd recommend: Book ahead, especially for weekend evenings or patio seating.
Antonio F — Google review
We enjoyed our dinner at Chez Piggy. Our waiter was very attentive, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The food service was on the slower side. We waited 25 minutes between our appetizer and main dishes. I ordered the dinner special—the duck breast—which was overcooked… a bit chewy and somewhat difficult to cut. I didn’t review the bill closely until I got home and noticed a $5 charge listed as “included tax.” It’s not a big deal, but normally I would ask the restaurant about such charges. This time I didn’t (my oversight), so I searched online to see what it might be, but couldn’t find a clear answer. Just a heads-up—if you visit this restaurant, check your bill carefully and clarify any extra charges before you pay.

A fantastic treasure trove of Canadian military radio and communication history. Very text heavy museum but with fantastic display pieces. I easily spent nearly three hours in the museum but could have spent probably another hour. Very polite staff and a very affordable price with not too many people when I visited. Made the mistake of arriving here a little too late and ended up with only about an hour before they closed. There's so much stuff to see and read to learn about all the different types of communication and electronics from over the years. It's a lot bigger than I originally thought it would be and I could have probably stayed an extra 30 minutes of so as I had to rush through the last part in order to see it all. My husband and I did the tour on Friday night this weekend. Liam was our guide, and I have to say it was an incredible evening! So much knowledge was imparted to us in the time that we spent on the ship and I truly loved the experience. The staff was ready to answer any questions we had, and I have to say that the night truly exceeded my expectations. Thank you all for such a great time!

Guide (Liam) was excellent. Tour was interesting with lots of ghost haunting stories. We went on the ship out of Kingston build during the Titanic era and the ship itself was amazing to see. It was hot on the boat (they didn't have air conditioning back then!) so I would suggest bringing a hand fan and bottle of cold water. They were kind enough to give us a bottle of water in the gift shop and just asked if we wouldn't mind leaving a donation but it wasn't mandatory. They didn't have water for sale in the gift shop. I would suggest they add a vending machine or small fridge with water for sale. I think the girl actually gave us staff water (it had an initial on the top). I was very grateful as the ship was very hot. The set up in the ship was very good with each of the guest rooms set up in a different passenger theme. The guide gave us enough time to check out all the different areas. I would recommend this tour and am going to be looking for others from this company. Thanks for a great night on my birthday celebration weekend!

A fantastic experience on a beautiful boat, with a guide who made all the difference! Allison was a wonderful tour guide whose knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, and dramatic edge, helped to create the perfect tour for a "spooky" cooler and slightly rainy evening. We are still not sure how the window in the drawing room rattled, moved, and then opened and closed (was it the wind? Perhaps...perhaps not!). We had a great experience at this Haunted Walk. Amy was our guide and she was awesome. I loved hearing the different stories from each stop along the way. I like the cloak and lantern that the guides have, it just adds to a spooky atmosphere.

My friend and I did the haunted walk at the SS Keewatin. Our host was fantastic and very engaging. The stories being told gave me goosebumps and really set the mood. It was great to explore the ship after dark and soak in the history. Would highly recommend. Caught this creepy photo in one of the rooms. Looks like two glowing eyes

Restaurant
AquaTerra is an upscale restaurant located in the Delta Kingston Waterfront Hotel, offering a sophisticated dining experience with picturesque water views. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients to create innovative dishes for breakfast, Sunday brunch, lunch, and dinner. Chef Clark Day curates a seasonal menu featuring gourmet New Canadian cuisine paired with fine wines.
My husband and I frequently visit Kingston and lately have stayed at the Delta Hotel. Luckily, in doing so, we discovered the AquaTerra restaurant inside the Delta. Arguably the best restaurant in Kingston. Aside from its breathtaking views on the water, the service and meals are outstanding. The elegant atmosphere coupled with a casual sophistication for dinner were only outdone by the wonderful meal and the outstanding service. Our waiter Marcos, clearly a seasoned veteran, guided us through the menu and was attentive throughout. I ordered the Salmon paella while my husband opted for the rib eye steak. Both were delicious and on point. Breakfast and brunch are also wonderful dining experiences with a beautiful menu filled with local ingredients and seasonal selections. I can say without a doubt now that AquaTerra is our "go-to" restaurant when visiting Kingston! Until next time, Diane and Blake Ottawa, Ontario

The seafood chowder was the best dish we tried. Delicious! The other dishes were okay, but nothing matched the chowder. We also had the calamari, the AquaTerra burger (a bit dry, could use more of the burger sauce), and the fish tacos. We also ordered a grilled chicken breast with steamed vegetables out of the kids menu for ou daughter. The chicken breast was good, but there was a limitation on what steamed vegetables were available. We didn’t ask which vegetables came with the dish, but assumed it would be a combination of broccoli, cauliflower, green beans or something similar, but the dish came with carrot and cucumber sticks (not sure if steamed), as the waitress immediately asked us if those were okay when bringing the dish and was prompt to replace them with steamed broccolini (only other vegetable available). Not only the instance above, but the service was really good. Hotel parking is also available for the restaurant guests. FYI, we dined at the indoor restaurant (nice view nonetheless). The patio apparently has a different menu.

Had an amazing meal at Aqua Terra last night with my wife. We enjoyed several appetizers, drinks, and light fare, and options from both the aqua and terra side of the menu. The service was excellent; polite, welcoming, very considerate. The view from inside of the harbour was very nice. Next time I'd like to try eating out on the patio. We were too stuffed for dessert. That Charcuterie board was a treat.

Breakfast at Aqua Terra was simply delightful! The waffles came out perfectly crisp, topped with fresh berries, a light dusting of powdered sugar, and just the right touch of syrup; both beautiful and delicious. The coffee was smooth and rich, and the whole meal felt fresh and well-prepared. The atmosphere is calm with a nice view, making it a perfect spot to start the day. Staff were welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quality breakfast in the city!

After perfectly prepared calamari for a starter, we had scallops last night. Scallops with polenta was a very well designed, coherent dinner dish, and was absolutely perfectly executed. Checked all the boxes. Ideally seared, and melting in the mouth sweet scallops were served with polenta cake that was similarly smooth inside and gently crunchy on the outside. The dots of sauce provided nice sour tone to balance the dish. Highly recommended. For the desert our smooth cheesecake served with peaches was an excellent choice. Our server Cole made us welcome and appreciated. Altogether that was a great dinning experience.

Came here with my partner last night after we were able to get a last minute reservation. They were quickly able to accommodate us and we even got in a bit early. We started with the sourdough and our server, James, brought us some complimentary ceviche with chips to try, all of which were delicious. I ordered the duck trio for my main and my partner got the shrimp pasta. I’ve never had foie gras until then, and it wasn’t too bad! I don’t think I’d ever order it again for ethical reasons but at least I could say I tried it once. Everything else on my plate was great: the duck breast was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the crispy vegetables added a nice crunch. We finished with the crème brûlée, which was also pretty good! Overall, the service was great and the atmosphere was intimate—perfect for our date!
Celestina O — Google review
Our server was lovely and we were seated by the window that offered a great view of the water! We came for brunch and there were many options on the menu. The aqua Benedict was very tasty with fresh smoked salmon. The chicken waffles were plated beautifully, but was disappointing. The chicken was breaded very thick and the coating didn’t stick to the chicken. The oil used for frying was old and my friend ended up getting a really bad stomachache after. The French toast was pretty good, a little too thick and heavy but still great. If it weren’t for the chicken dish, we would love to come back.

Martello Alley is a captivating art gallery located in the historic downtown of Kingston, Ontario. The alleyway has been transformed into a vibrant space filled with colorful murals and imaginative installations, reminiscent of Quebec's rue du Tresor. Visitors can explore a curated collection of artwork including paintings, sculptures, stained glass, and more by local artists such as Pat Shea and M.P. Tully.
I got a little cardinal sun catcher ornament. And a cute postcard. And they give complimentary post cards when you get anything. The owner was very nice. He walked me to their other store location. He was very helpful and friendly. Thank you. Cute Canadian local art store. Various art forms. Lovely collection. Lovely nook and vibe.

+ unique, and beautiful art alley + Rich with history and connected with nature + Friendly and knowledgeable owners + This is literally the definition of 'buy local' + Variety of art (photography, paintings, sculptures) -owners should offer food/beverages to enjoy the alley - they have socials down but need to market aggressively in the tourism sector - work together with the university to attract more students. TL;DR If you're in the Kingston area you need to check out Martello Alley for it's fresh take on the city with beautiful art.

I don't know where to start with this review, I'm so amazed and intrigued with everything about this place and the people who work and display their talents here. I have never walked into an art studio and been more awestruck with so many vibrant pieces on display. No matter where I looked there were displayed exceptionally created works of art. I know I will be back to find something special for myself very soon. The staff are most knowledgeable and love to talk with meaning. This small review does nothing to show the strong impression they have left with me. Thank you again for a wonderful experience

Wolfe Island is located in the middle of the Thousand Islands, accessible by ferry. The island has restaurants and biking trails, and is home to Fort Henry and Wolfe Islander Ferry.
Amazing place in the lap of nature. Very beautiful place. You can feel serenity of the place by yourself. The ferry service by the government is also appreciable because it is accurate. Good arrangements by forest department too. Only thing is there is no phone network. Have a good vacation picnic here .
Pathik P — Google review
The only thing I enjoyed was the ferry ride. There is absolutely nothing on this island. There is a beach that you have to pay 15$ entrance per person and they won’t allow you to see what you are paying for. The ferry takes 20 min but you might have to wait hours to get out of the island. I would not recommend this airing your time on this island at all .
Zee M — Google review
Nothing to do on the island... One overpriced park and thats it ( it's a good beach but $20/person is outrageous. Take the ferry over for a meal go for a walk and you're done.

Nice to go there via free ferry thanks to Govt of Canada. Beautiful island. We even saw a fox there
Rengesh K — Google review
Overall not a great experience for me. Haven’t make it to the Big Sandy Bay beach. For whoever coming, do go to the parking lot for the beach, instead of to the beach directly. Also keep in mind it closes at 6 and I heard you get to pay a fee around 10 box for the access (might be wrong). Besides, the ferry entry point has also changed, if you want to get back to Kingston, go back to the place where you get off the ferry to the island. ( at least this is the case on July 31 2022) Come early! Otherwise, you will wait for the next boat (only 55 cars capacity) And it’s embarrassing that every “good” place next to the lake is “private” or “no access”, and hard to find a place to get out of the car. But I did enjoyed the scenery on the island, even when driving around and that’s the only reason for an extra star. Wish to have some bike rental services, etc and hope it to become a great place to go to in the near future.

Love going to Wolfe Island. Its a very peaceful place for a long drive and relaxing. I have seen a couple deers in the past. Love the ferry ride. Definitely someone I recommend people to go if you visit Kingston Ontario.

Beautiful, nice little island; if you’re in Kingston, this can be added to your trip for enjoyment purposes. The best time to visit the island are on a sunny day in summers. Be sure to check the kingston-wolfe Island ferry timings to accommodate it in your travel. It has a nice country side view, a paid beach and places where you can go near the wind mills, they are gigantic. The ride itself is long, depending on which route you take, and the end of both roads leads to US-Canada port.

Big Sandy Bay: Wolfe Island, Kingston. We had a visit on this Island 2 weeks before. Big Sandy Bay is one of the great beaches of Lake Ontario. How to go: From Toronto around 3 hour drive to Kingston and 20 minutes ferry ride to reach the Island. There might be bit long line up for the the Ferry so keep enough time on hand both way. After getting off from the ferry another 15 minutes drive to the parking lot of the Bay. Alternately You can leave your car in Kinston mainland and can bike to the beach from the ferry terminal. Park in the lot or lock your bikes at the gatehouse. The 1.3-kilometre nature trail takes you to the beach. Cost: There is a $15 park entrance fee for adults, with discounts for bikes, families, children, and frequent visitors. Attractions: Sandy beach, Blue water, easy hike through nature, Ferry Ride through the Islands. Food: we didn’t find any restaurant in that beach side, So take your food and drinks from Kingston. Tips: The parking lot is small, so try for early morning plan. The beach become very hot so beach umbrella is highly recommended. Make sure your car has enough gas filled before going to the island.

Nestled in the heart of Kingston, the PumpHouse stands as a remarkable testament to Canada's industrial heritage. This historic museum, housed in a 19th-century pumping station, invites visitors to explore its fascinating collection of steam-powered machinery and interactive exhibits. Established in 1851 to combat devastating fires and cholera outbreaks, it is recognized as Canada’s oldest original waterworks and one of only six surviving facilities of its kind in North America.
Had great time with family and kids. Awesome train set and dinosaur hunting got to tuch real dinosaur bone
Jaspreet S — Google review
There is not much to do at this museum. Yes , they added the dinosaurs exposition, which, in my opinion, has nothing to do with a Pumphouse. Plus, there is a lot of reading which my kids are too young. They have a section in the back with model trains, but again, I don't see the relevance with Pumphouse.

A great museum that offers fascinating information about Kingstons early days of providing water to the city. Entrance fee price was fair. It is a bit on the shorter side but still information rich with a lovely train model section. Worth a visit for sure.

The new exhibit "Soil Superheroes" is absolutely amazing! Very family/kid friendly with different things to touch and great visuals, but also enough detailed information to capture the attention of adults as well. Well worth visiting for the exhibit alone! Not to mention the model train room and the entire pump house itself!

It is not free to enter AND you must pay for parking which makes it a lower star however I gave a highest star because of the importance of understanding the information learned. What made it 5 star was the connection they honoured with indegenous people. I hope in the future more detail can be shared about indegenous people but for now I love the art exhibit combined with the water history of Kingston. It is also hosted a seperate exhibit about dinasaurs. This was included in the price. Also there is park area where you can take a walk along the water so this made it an extra special experience!

Nice place to visit. High point was feeding chickadees. There is a section of trail specifically labeled as a chickadee feeding area. If you bring black oil sunflower seeds, place some in your outstretched hand, and stand still, they will land on your hand and take seeds. They are still timid and cautious, but my 6 and 11 year olds both found great success feeding them. They were delighted

Very surprised to see the”Park”- which is only 10 hectares smaller than Vancouver’s Stanley Park.! This is a conservation park so unspoiled Our first time there (from Orleans ON) but now we have a nature spot to visit next time. We are interested in trying out the trail walk. We waited for a few minutes and a Heron landed followed by other birds popping up - too far away to identify but we could see the colours. Kingston is lucky to have this area. They seem to run quite a lot of nature programs. Pancake seasons sounds like a good time to visit! We enjoyed our new quiet coffee spot.

Tapas restaurant
Tango Nuevo is a cosmopolitan tapas and wine bar with an old-world ambiance, priding itself on using locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant embraces the Spanish tradition of sharing small plates to bring people together. Their menu features a variety of cold and hot options, including crowd favorites like Turkish Bruschetta and Asian Spare Ribs. Located on King Street, this chic spot is beloved by locals for its extensive selection of tapas, charcuterie (all locally sourced), and international wine list.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 We had dinner at Tango Nuevo in Kingston and absolutely loved it! The tapas-style menu is a great idea — small portions make it easy to try different dishes and share. Four dishes for two felt perfect, and I even saved room for dessert 😊 The food was delicious, and the service was impressively fast and attentive — we barely had time to wait between courses, which was such a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, even on a busy Friday night. The interior is stylish and cozy, and the location is great — right in downtown Kingston, within walking distance from our hotel. There’s also a big parking lot just a minute away on Ontario Street. Highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty evening out!

To enjoy the summer heat and Kingston’s charm, we stopped for lunch at Tango Nuevo. We tried ceviche for the first time, beautifully presented and decent in flavor, though a bit too watery, and the chips were too thin to scoop much up. The Turkish Ravioli was pleasant, but it could have used more authentic touches, perhaps a garlic-infused yogurt instead of plain sour cream, and a heartier meat filling. The Persian BBQ Lamb Taco was overall enjoyable. On the brighter side, our cocktails were excellent, refreshing and perfectly suited for a summer afternoon.

Celebrated a birthday dinner in the lower level wine cellar - La Bodega, which allowed a more enclosed gathering that my friends and I appreciated for us to talk comfortably amongst ourselves in the space! We all loved the vibes, nice ambiance and music. There was a broken piece of glass in my plate which was puzzling, but nonetheless service and food was great. Sharable menu but is not as filling even with multiple plates.

An incredible meal!! I am so amazed by every restaurant I try in Kingston and Tango Nuevo is no exception. This restaurant was by far my #1. Every dish was incredible. We ordered everything pictured and I also got the pink sangria which was quite tasty. The Persian lamb tacos were outstanding and so was the tandoori cauliflower. The brussel sprouts were not as crispy as I would have liked but still delicious. The pairing of every flavour made this meal one to remember. We were a party of 2 and the amount ordered was perfect. The service and atmosphere of Tango Nuevo were also great. I definitely would come back make sure to bring friends or family who like to share.

I was expecting more food quality when there are more than 1000 good reviews. Duck Breast: it’s a mixed fusion style of Korean and Chinese. It was ok. The breast wasn’t tender enough. Quite salty. Carne Picante: the beef was so chewy and the sauce was too salty. Taco shell was ok. Mussels: Very disappointed with this dish. The shells were good side but the mussels were so mini. I didn’t know what I was eating to be honest. The waiter did his job. Served us ok. No extra communication. Not cheap for the food quality and portion.

Such a beautiful atmosphere, even the washrooms are pretty. There are so many unique little details that just really make the place. All the good was delicious but would have to say dessert is my favourite. Service was amazing!
Kyra F — Google review
Tango Nuevo offered a delightful experience with its Mexican tapas-style dishes. Each small plate presented a burst of fresh flavors, which made for a satisfying meal. In particular, the meat dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. The meat was remarkably tender, and it practically melted in my mouth. Overall, it was a wonderful culinary journey I would gladly repeat.

First time visiting this restaurant we’re from Montreal. The pictures show what we ordered, and it was for two adult males. And I think myself as a picky person Honestly, the quality of the food and the sauces was really good. Our server I think her name was Alexa or Eliza (not quite sure because another table was a bit noisy) she was super friendly and absolutely lovely! The bill was $125 and I left $150. The only reason I couldn't give a full 5 stars is because of the portion sizes. We still felt a bit hungry after leaving the restaurant.

Brewpub

Beer hall
The Kingston Brewing Company, located at 34 Clarence Street, is a historic Canadian brewpub that offers a wide selection of Ontario beers and ciders. Housed in a building dating back to the 1800s, this establishment is known as the oldest brewpub in Ontario. With its cozy and funky decor, it provides an inviting atmosphere for patrons to enjoy their hearty menu and house-made beers on two spacious patios during warm summer months.
We sat on the patio and had a nice meal on Saturday. We had the crispy chicken sandwich and the small chicken Caesar salad, it was all very delicious and our service was very good. The waitress is also nice enough to let us bring our dogs as long as they were good boys, which of course they were.

Amazing spot with great craft beer. I went on a nice warm, sunny day and the patio was open overlooking main Street. Friendly staff and good food. I ordered Caesar Salad, Chicken wings and Nachos. Everything tasted good. They offer a wide variety of craft beer. Whitetail cream ale is highly recommended.

I absolutely loved the interior decor—it was full of thoughtful details that gave the place a cozy, old Canadian vibe. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting right from the moment we walked in. The staff were friendly and always greeted us with genuine smiles, which made the experience even better. We also tried the chips and dip, and wow—the chips were homemade, incredibly fresh, crunchy, and absolutely delicious. As for the beers, they were fantastic! My favorite was the raspberry wheat—it had a wonderful fruity flavor that was both refreshing and satisfying. Overall, a great spot to relax, enjoy good food and drinks, and soak in the atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Came by for lunch and sat out on the front patio, which had lots of shade. Service was quick, and the beer selection was extensive and tasty. The food was awesome! Loved the cod cakes, the Royale burger with bacon and jalapeños, poutine, and even the pickled eggs.

For our first time in Kingston we wanted to find a good brew pub that we could go with our dog. The Kingston Brewing Cie came as highly rated . The place is actually great. We were seated in their Courtyard; it was cozy; and enough room for our dogs to lie down. We got some of their locally Made IPA and they were very good ! On that aspect; we were quite happy . On the food side however, it was disappointing for us. My crispy chicken sandwich had quite a side look with a bland mayo, and 3 pickle slices. And the batter on the chicken was just okay. My partner had their fish and chip, and she felt the batter tasted like old oil. It was overall underwhelming. Another table close to us shared their burger was good. Maybe we have been unlucky? YMWV.

We loved everything about our experience. We visited for a weeknight dinner in August. We sat outside in the back courtyard which is very picturesque and cozy. The building itself is old. The courtyard in the back is connected to the street via l an arch walkway through the building. They didn't have information on the building's history but I thought perhaps the courtyard in the back might have been stables at one time. Now there are pergolas, patio lights, Vines and plants. We tried the double dry IPA and really enjoyed it. The kids got chicken strips and fries. I got a breaded chicken sandwich and a salad and my husband got the chicken pot pie in a salad. All the food was really yummy. The service was also very good. We had two servers come to our table within just a few minutes of sitting down. And they were attentive throughout our meal. We did check out the inside before we ate and it's it has the feel of an English pub. There's lots of dark wood booths and interesting decor all around. I highly recommend to anyone in the area regardless if you're drinking the beer or not.

Pan Chancho Bakery & Café is a charming European-style establishment that offers a delightful combination of bakery, café, and gourmet food shop. Known for its delectable baked goods, specialty breads, and gluten-free options, this place also stands out with its creative brunch menu featuring dishes like El Chancho and Red Eye Poutine. The beautiful limestone building houses an upscale retail store with artisan breads and an impressive craft cheese selection.
Pan Chancho Bakery in downtown Kingston was an absolute delight! This stunning bakery provides you with the diverse selection of baked goods. The standout for me was without a doubt the cranberry scone. It was absolutely stunning—hands down the best scone I’ve ever had in my entire life. Perfectly baked, with the right balance of tart cranberries and a buttery, tender crumb. It’s worth a visit for that alone.

Got a table on the patio. Our server(Hannah) was wonderful, well informed and able tell us about the dishes. My wife and I had the Weekender breakfast, which included over easy eggs, bacon on a butter croissant. It was so delicious. I had a Chai Latte to drink it was made perfectly. We asked for the dessert and pastry menu - my wife ordered the coconut cream pie I had the angel food cake with vanella creme and fresh local strawberries. What a wonderful experience. Thank you to all the staff how made the experience great.

That salmon toast was one of the best i’ve ever had! The latte was a true latte, perfect ratio of milk to coffee and the pastry was very fresh! The only thing is the food is a bit pricey but the quality is on-par with how much we paid! Loved this place and the staff was very friendly!!

Pan Chancho is a Kingston, Ontario gem. We stopped both ways going from Toronto to Montréal and back. I particularly enjoyed the Fall into Winter salad. Kale, sweet potatoes, pumpkin seeds, and more, plus loads of dried cherries for bursts of Nature sweetness.

Great place to hang out. We went for an Americano, a Croissant and Crispy Potatoes. Coffee and croissant were great. Not a fan of crispy potatoes. There’s also a store at the front from where you can buy breads, wines, meals and many other stuff. Staff was really nice and friendly. There’s street parking nearby and a few paid parking lots. It can be challenging to find on a busy day. Definitely recommended.

It was a great place for an introduction to Kingston. Authentic, delicious and though it was bus, the servers were welcoming. I absolutely loved the upcycled fabric napkins and the art on the walls. Will make a point to visit every time we visit.

Amazing food and coffee! I got a cappuccino and a dirty chai - the chai was the best I’ve ever had. We both got the El Chancho. It is pretty expensive here but you get a great amount for what you pay, nothing was bland and you can tell everything was fresh.

A first time visit here and we absolutely loved a number of their items such as the delicious shortbread cookies, the melt in your mouth Ferraro cheesecake ball and the yummy coconut lemon square. The mo better bar was pretty tasty as was the chocolate bread and raspberry jam scone. We were not wowed by the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and the Quebec maple chomeur which we had never experienced before did not quite have the taste we were expecting and seemed heavy with maple syrup but not heavy with taste-maybe the way it is supposed to be?!? A loaf of sourdough bread came home with us and it is some of the best we have had. Many more items to go back and sample and we will definitely return. Great customer service with a smile. Overall, an enjoyable and delectable outing!

Live music venue
Olivea is a popular Italian trattoria located in a modern, industrial space with a patio that offers refined Italian cuisine. The restaurant has a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes, along with house-made desserts and wines specifically chosen to complement the food. On Tuesday evenings, guests can enjoy live jazz music while dining. Olivea's ambiance is enhanced by plenty of natural light from its large windows, creating a comfortable and beautiful setting for enjoying authentic Italian meals.
It was spectacular! Probably the best Italian restaurant I've been to. The appetizers, the main and the dessert were awesome! The complementary olive oil and bread they brought us was heavenly. The Pinot Grigio was so crisp and just out of this world. Our server Montana made it a great dining experience for us. We asked many questions and she was attentive, patient and kind throughout the evening. Will definitely come back and recommend to all my friends.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Kingston! The food is very flavourful and big portions. The seafood linguine had a very seafoody flavour to it. Could not stop eating the truffle fries. And the salad was very fresh. Topped dinner of with a crème brûlée which was delicious. Our server was so sweet can back many times to check on us and the food.
Ling L — Google review
Great service! The seafood linguini was amazing. Oysters were just okay. The calamari and steak were a bit salty in some bites, maybe the seasoning wasn’t even. But overall, super happy that we got a table so quickly on a Saturday night without reservation
Yu Y — Google review
It’s a hard pass for me. The servers were the worst I’ve seen in Kingston. Everyone was unfriendly and seems stressed. They did not seem to understand that a large group of Queen’s Students and their families might be a little fluid. My server could not wrap her head around an Espresso Martini with Tequila instead of Vodka. She was muttering under her breath often at our table when people moved around after just sitting. We seemed like an annoyance. Food was ok. Tiramisu was average. Garlic scampi was good. I would never return or recommend this place.
Crabby E — Google review
This is my favourite restaurant in the whole world! When I went to school in Kingston my family and I would go to eat here every chance we got. Now that I've left Kingston I still find every chance I can to come and eat at Olivea. In particular I absolutely adore the caeser salad, the carpaccio, the spicy aglio olio with steak and their cosmopolitan! The ambiance inside this restaurant is perfectly curated, with the comfiest seats I've seen and a million different beautiful things to look at while you dine. I will forever rave about this restaurant and suggest it to anyone who will listen. Not to mention I always enjoy the service that I receive no matter the occasion. I highly highly recommend this restaurant :)
Ruby M — Google review
The atmosphere was great. Food was amazing. The tiramisu was divine. Omg. The gnocchi was the best I've ever had. We also got the aglio e olio with the steak. Warning it was quite spicy so if you can't do spicy stay away from this dish. But if you do it's nice.
Denis L — Google review
TLDR: I’ve been here several times over the past 10 years for dinner and always enjoyed my meal. Went for lunch recently to celebrate a friend’s birthday, was not impressed and will think twice before returning. Party of four. A friend made the reservation for a birthday celebration. Three of us ordered the Olivea burger, one with fries and two with soup, and I forget what the fourth person ordered. Two burgers arrived, but the third did not. We had to let the server know one was missing. They apologized and said it would be out in about five minutes; it was closer to ten. When it finally arrived, we were told a discount would be applied. However, a $3 discount on a $24 burger and soup combo didn’t feel like much of a gesture given the delay, but since I wasn’t the one who made the reservation, I didn’t want to make a fuss. As for the food, the burger was extremely well done and dry. The soup was tasty, as were the bread with oil and balsamic vinegar. In fact, the bread and the panelle were the highlights of the meal. And I have to echo another reviewer, our birthday guest received a small cup of whipped cream with a candle in it. It’s nice that they acknowledge birthdays, but it did feel a bit underwhelming.

Ice cream shop
Mio Gelato, located on Ontario Street in Kingston, has been a beloved spot since 2010. This locally-owned shop offers traditional Italian gelato made with fresh artisanal ingredients. The menu features a wide variety of flavors including popular options like Stracciatella, coffee, and pistachio, as well as unique offerings such as Thai Milk Tea.
The place has a cozy and fun vibe. Lots of flavor choices to choose from. The small size cup portion is good for two people. We got the mango which tasted really fresh and sweet and the rocky road (not a lot of nuts but still hits the spot). The staff were really welcoming and nice and would definitely recommend overall.
Vanne S — Google review
Stopped by Mio Gelato while exploring Kingston, and the long queue stretching outside the shop immediately caught my attention — and now I completely understand why! 🍨✨ I tried the mango and maple blueberry gelato, and both were absolutely delicious — creamy, rich, and bursting with fresh flavor. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into their gelato. The texture was perfect — smooth and refreshing without being too sweet. Despite the line, the service was quick and friendly, and the cozy interior made it worth the short wait. A perfect treat for a sunny day by the waterfront! ☀️🍦 Definitely one of the best gelato spots in Kingston — totally worth the hype and the line!

I love this place! There was a line on Friday night, full of young people chatting and trying different ice creams, the vibe was so alive! And the taste of their gelato is AMAZING! I got mango and pistachio, both were so good! They have tons of flavors to choose from, and the staff are super cool and friendly. Thanks for the great experience!
Kosar M — Google review
It might have been because it was a public holiday and the place was packed, but we didn’t even have time to check the many flavors available before the staff kept coming over to ask what we wanted — it felt a bit rushed. The ice cream was tasty, and the scoops were generous. Highly recommend the pistachio flavor. However, it melted way too fast, so it got a little messy to eat.
Chan K — Google review
Mia Gelato has so many flavours to choose from! I tried the Chocolate Skor and Tiramisu — the Chocolate Skor was super tasty and really hit the spot, while the Tiramisu was too sweet for me. Still, it’s a great place to satisfy late-night cravings. I just wish they offered a single-scoop option too!

I've had gelato in many places for those who read my reviews. Even gelato many a times in Rome. Mio Gelato is one of the best. The options of flavours was 48.The gelato flavours and creaminess was Bang on.I wish I could have had at least 30 of them. The coconut rum, pb+J and chocolate skor where off the chart. The service and patience from Brooklyn was unbelievable for the four of us. This will be one of my gelato/ ice cream places forever. If you love gelato/ ice cream come to Mio Gelato you won't be disappointed. 🙏😋😋😋😋. Just went again, again and will go tomorrow. Big lines for a reason. Thank you Mio Gelato 😋😋😋😋😋. Fall flavours now apple crumble and pumpkin spice 😋😋😋😋. Just keep adding pics every time I go. Can you imagine if I live in Kingston, I would be the king 👑 of Mio Gelato 😋😋😋. Expresso was amazing. Beautiful kept park with Lake Ontario beach. There are sand box like area for kids to play in the sand near the water. You can go swimming as it's clear but it's rocky near the shore so if you have water shoes, it's best if you wear them. I am not sure if it's sandy after the rocks. The park area is kept clean and well maintained with a sheltered picnic and washroom area. There's one playground near the front of the park and new one near it with a splash pad as well. Best of two worlds.

Whether you opt for the classic Avo Smash on grilled sourdough or the innovative Rubarab Porridge, there's something to satisfy every palate. This cafe draws inspiration from Melbourne's coffee culture, offering an inviting atmosphere to savor your meal and take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but it was definitely worth it. Their sandwiches and Tim's Benny are delicious and absolutely worth trying. The service was exceptional, and I really enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and made the experience even better. I will definitely come back next time if we are back in Kingston.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Northside Café is one of those places that instantly becomes your favorite. The moment you walk in, you feel the warmth — modern, stylish decor, cozy atmosphere, everything is spotless and welcoming. The staff deserves a special mention. Every single person working there is friendly, smiling, helpful, and actually knows what they’re doing. Service feels personal, not robotic — and that’s rare. The food is truly one of the best in Kingston. They care about quality. Ingredients are sourced from best suppliers, and you can taste the difference. I have several food intolerances, and they always go out of their way to accommodate my needs. And now… the coffee. Their coffee is exceptional. They invested in one of the most advanced (and expensive) coffee machines on the market, and they use high-quality beans — the result is a smooth and flavorful coffee that’s honestly on a European level. If you’re a coffee lover, this place is a must. No reservations here, and on weekends it gets busy — but the team is organized, takes your name for the waitlist, and you’re usually seated within 20 minutes. I genuinely recommend Northside Café to everyone. It’s a gem — one of the best spots in Kingston for food, coffee, and atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Northside this past weekend - the first since they moved down the street. What an amazing job on the renovations and interior design. It's a wonderful space. Every detail is so enjoyable. The meal, of course was delicious and surprising. And fully accessible - even the washrooms! Kudos

This place has been recommended to us for years, but it’s always packed when we are in the area. So having a weekday off made it easy to stop in and get a table. And I gotta say they didn’t disappoint, big portions and great flavour combos, not your average breakfast stop for sure. The team was attentive and friendly. Great new location.
Rob E — Google review
The atmosphere there is cute and relaxing! Lots of windows so you get a lot of natural light in the restaurant. When we got there the hostess was really nice and gave us the option to get a text message when a table was ready or wait (which I liked) and we didn’t even have the opportunity to leave and a table was ready for us!! The food was delicious and flavourful and the staff were nice and cleaned the restaurant quite well. The only thing I would have preferred is that my latte and food came hotter in temperature. I think I would have really enjoyed the latte if it was warmer instead of room temperature
Shay G — Google review
Probably my favourite spot in Kingston! The food is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for - the quality is phenominal and I believe most of the ingredients sre from local suppliers. My favourite menu item is the brunswick classic. Friendly waiting staff and well-decorated space with lots of plants. Sometimes there is a wait to be seated and you will be given the option to sit alone or with another party if everyone is comfortable with that. If the wait is expected to be long, you are free to explore the nesrby shops and you will get a text when your table is ready.
Simon A — Google review
The new location is great. Stopped in for lunch last week when in Kingston and OMG the steak sandwich which was the special that day was amazing! Anything I have ever ate here has been delicious. One of my fav places to enjoy a meal at when in Kingston. The staff are always amazing as well.
KRISTINA D — Google review
The food was absolutely beautifully presented. Rich, bright ingredients, and beautiful plating. The drinks were also stunning. My family loved the "mont blanc" and the blueberry lemonade (house lemonade) was great. The iced strawberry matcha tasted only of matcha which was disappointing. I had the eggplant sandwich thinking it would be a hot sandwich because it stated it was made with "roast eggplant" but unfortunately it was a cold sandwich which was a real let down. I'd recommended asking before you order so you know what you're getting (wish I knew to ask!) This restaurant while beautiful is extremely loud and echo-y. I had to basically yell to talk to my family across the table from me. The service was extremely slow, especially for drinks, but I am assuming this is because they are still figuring things out since having moved to a new location 4 days ago.

St George’s Anglican Cathedral has a long history that spans back over 200 years. We noticed it was open for viewing while we were strolling through the Kingston waterfront. One lady kindly gave us a guide of the cathedral while others were making ceremonial plans. There are a multitude of plaques along the walls as well as several large glass stain panels. The cathedral is used for weddings and has a bride’s room before entering with bridesmaids.

I wish the Grand had a no scent policy so all could enjoy the events without getting sick. The ushers were terrific. Thanks to them it turned out to be a fabulous anniversary date.

I sat in the balcony because that's the only seating left. And it was an amazing view of the stage. Theater is very clean and welcoming.

Awful experience!!! Do NOT RECOMMEND this venue. James barker band and have staff harassing teenagers saying they are not allowed to video. Meanwhile James Barker band posted on their socials please upload videos and them. Having 3 women be relentless about not videoing. Appalling!!! 3 different reasons given. James barker band does not permit videoing. Manager said its the theatres policy, to it blocks peoples views. Its a concert !! I will NEVER return. The treatment was horrendous.

Wonderful venue! The theatre is a very short walk from the parking lot. I've seen many shows in the theatre and the seats are very comfortable, very spacious room in the front rows and the space is kept clean and tidy. I came to see Alan Doyle and it will definitely be a show to remember!

Went to watch the Debaters at the Grand. All seats have a great view. The staff is very helpful about getting you to your seats. The acoustics are marvellous and you hear everything. You can prepay your parking... Hard to imagine a better small venue

Even during the off season, this is a great place to visit. It has good views of the Saint Lawrence River. There are lots of trees and picnic tables, as well as free parking. A super place for dog walking. However, the washrooms are only open from May to October.

Great park! Nice sandy beach with a volleyball net next to a large playground great for kids! Bathrooms have been newly renovated and are kept tidy! Dog park portion is HUGE, great for letting your pup run about. Lots of picnic tables scattered throughout the park as well…. overall a great place to visit in the summer!

One of the biggest and best dog parks I've ever been to. What a gem! It's also got a realkt nice beach, water access and swiming, kayaking, paddle opportunities. Perfect weekend - picnic gateway or simply a quick swim option.

We found this very small but exceptionally nice beach 🏖 while we searching for a full day fun for kids. You can play basketball 🏀 and beach 🏖 volleyball 🏐 as well as full scale play ground for kids under 10 years. You can have ton of walk in lakeshore. It is just 30 min of Kingston. The facilities ( washroom, equipments and others are super clean and well maintained). Highly recommend to visit.

Great little beach, lots of shade to escape the heat. Very family friendly, ample parking. Kids love the park at the beach. Always a good day spent here.

Great little beach, with soft sand and minimal rocks. Great playground for the kids and easy access with a stone path down to the beach. Once the bathroom pavilion is finished, it will be the perfect place to have a full beach day.

Restaurant
The Everly Restaurant & Lounge offers a unique dining experience with its stylish yet unpretentious ambiance and a focus on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The menu features an array of dishes such as crispy polenta with foraged mushrooms and chicken liver pate with rhubarb compote, all sourced from nearby farms and growers. The bar serves up inventive cocktails like the Earl Grey MarTEAni and The Bees Knees, showcasing a blend of classic and contemporary flavors.
If I could give it a 10 out of 5, I would. We have been consistently going to the Everly for years now and the food, service, and atmosphere have never wavered. Actually, I think the Everly’s amazing service may have ruined us for all other dining experiences. We always find ourselves a bit let down when we eat elsewhere or travel. Having worked in the restaurant industry for many years in my youth, I definitely have high expectations, but the Everly exceeds them, without fail, every time. And, I haven’t even mentioned the delicious food yet… their commitment to using fresh, sustainable and local goods is commendable. We can eat here often and never tire of the menu because there is always something new. Attention to detail means every dish is exceptional, and the cocktails too. Did you know they squeeze their own juices? If you haven’t tried it yet, you should. It’s worth every penny! I know we’ll be back soon!

The Everly Restaurant & Lounge, is a great place to check out when you're looking for a delicious meal made with the finest local ingredients of the season. Overall, I enjoyed the food here, and had a great dining experience. I ordered the Truffled Cacio e Pepe, vanilla panna cotta, and the sparkling lemonade. The pasta is made fresh in house daily, and was perfectly al dente. The panna cotta had just the right amount of sweetness to end the meal, and the lemonade was refreshing. Located in downtown Kingston, the restaurant has a cozy, and sophisticated ambiance, which also makes it a great spot for a date night, and in my case, a quiet evening out. I had an early weekday dinner during my visit, and was therefore able to get a to get a table without reservations. The staff here were very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu. I also appreciated their large selection of mocktails, along with an extensive selection of cocktails and wine.

The food was incredible! I had the pork ragu pappardelle and it was almost better than my husband's beef tenderloin. We would definitely come again, delicious and a great atmosphere!

The food was exceptional, and the service was even better. We visited to celebrate the first day of our week in Kingston and to celebrate my brother’s wedding. We also celebrated a birthday, and the desserts were incredible. Our server, Izzy, made the experience even more special with outstanding service.

We visited The Everly for the first time last night, but it will certainly not be our last visit. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and it is very clear that a lot of care went into every detail. Our waitress, Jess, was beyond lovely. She provided excellent, attentive service. Her genuine love for the restaurant and passion for its mission was clear. She told us all about their local suppliers and local wine list. The cocktails were wonderful. Pictured is the Bee's knees (a highly recommended Lemon/Honey Gin Tanqueray), the mushroom risotto (beyond delicious!), the kale salad (the best I have ever had), as well as the chocolate torte and pecan pie. Both looked so delicious that we could not decide. (And we are glad that we didn't!) Thank you for a lovely evening. We will be raving to everyone we know.

Great DINING & SERVICE experience. I attended a business dinner and I was immediately impressed with Riley, our server. He gave me a great guidance at the wine-list and he was fast and very efficient when it came to serve our food. We were 21 guests. His recommended Chardonnay was outstanding and all dishes very tasty. The creamy dessert was fantastic
Christian J — Google review
This was our first time dining at The Everly and it was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is 10/10 - beautifully decorated and the vibes are immaculate. Our server was great and friendly. Our food was phenomenal; fresh ingredients that left us completely satiated, and I have a big appetite. It’s definitely on the pricier range though, part of that might be the so called downtown tax in regards to Kingston. But we will definitely be returning.
Jen M — Google review
Came here with my husband for date night and it came highly recommended to us. The waiter was nice, gave us some space but was available for order, questions, and check. He mentioned that everything on the menu is locally sourced from farmers and businesses in the area, which we were impressed with and glad to hear as we try to support local businesses as much as we can. He did also mention their menu changes by season, which makes sense given their local sourcing. The bread was really good and fresh, the food was delicious though quite pricey. We ordered a main, drinks, and dessert. I especially loved the dessert "eaton mess" it was very fluffy and light so it was perfect after a meal (not excessive). I should mention we went in August so this was a summer menu. I attached some pictures of the food. The ambience was modern with mid-century vibe.. i liked the wallpapers, the tables and the centerpieces. The washrooms were really clean and modern looking though they are downstairs in the basement and i did not see an elevator so probably not accessible for wheelchairs. I did find the sounds to be quite louder than i imagined.. the music was a nice volume but i found that all the tables and patrons were kind of loud maybe because they were in groups rather than couples? There is a sidewalk patio but it wasn't anything special at all no decorations or greenery or umbrella (at least not that i remember). Overall a 4/5.. i would come back for a special occasion maybe.

Fort Frontenac, established in 1673, stands as a significant historical landmark on the waterfront of Kingston, Ontario. Originally built as a French trading post and military fort at the confluence of the Cataraqui River and St. Lawrence River, it played a crucial role in early settlement patterns. After falling into British hands in 1760, it became an important site for Loyalist settlers during the 1780s when Kingston was officially named.
Personally I think this is a fantastic place. Then again, I worked at the Fort for four years and still get there now and then. The most historic site in Kingston. The public can visit, but check with the Commissioners inside the gate.

The mess was great, the grounds were well kept, and the view was amazing. One of the better locations I have ever been to for a course.

Fort Frontenac is still a fully functioning military facility. The commissioner at the gate gave me info about the history and a pamphlet. He walked me to the entrance and show me a fraction of the wall which used to be part of Fort Frontenac. Unfortunately, the rest of the facility is not open to public.

The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts is a stunning new theater in Kingston with facilities for orchestras, classical and jazz musicians, as well as other performances. The theater has attracted some major talent and is located right on the water head down for one of its many featured shows. The only downside is that parking can be a nightmare.
Such a unique and beautiful building with friendly and informative staff. 🕯️ We attended a candlelight concert by fever, with a quartet who performed popular Coldplay songs. 🕯️ ***The entire experience was incredible.***

Fantastic hall for classical music! A beautiful airy space on the lobby. Chairs and tables are available. A large patio out back with a nice view of the water.

Spectacular. Amazing acoustics and stunning facility. A pleasure to attend performances here. Video projection could be improved for multimedia and film presentations. The chintzy screen does not do this facility justice. Perhaps a screen that extends the width and length of the back wall would mirror the quality of performance audio built into this facility.

I had my wedding at the Isabel Bader, and was absolutely thrilled with both the venue and the staff. The building itself is absolutely stunning, and the view of the lake from inside and from the patio is unbeatable. One of the reasons we chose this venue is that both the patio and the inside option for the ceremony (which ended up being our back-up option in case of rain) were equally gorgeous. The reception area is spacious and beautifully lit. Brittany and Lisa, as well as the rest of the staff, were fantastic. They answered all our questions leading up to the day and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day of. They coordinated everything seamlessly so we never had to worry about anything and could just relax and have fun! They are also great with dietary restrictions, including celiac disease, and the food was delicious. We received many similar comments about the venue and staff from our guests. Highly recommend!

April 2023 What a beautiful venue to experience the sound of the Kingston Symphony Orchestra. The wood interior and the sound is amazing in this concert hall. A spectacular concert, and a crowd pleasing friendly and well-liked conductor. The lobby area is bright because of the floor to ceiling windows and a view of Lake Ontario. My first time here, and I will be back again. Many different shows are performed here, so check their website.

World class venue with cutting-edge facilities. The Isabel Bader Centre is clearly one of the most beautiful art centres amidst all of Canada. The performance hall alone should be noted as one of the nicest halls of its size in North America - unbelievable accoustics, stunning visuals, and an intimate space with smaller seating area. This venue is an absolute fairy tale for anything and everything classical music, especially when it comes to chamber music. I can’t recommend coming here enough, both as an audience member and (if it applies to you) as a performer! Glorious space and Kingston is lucky to have it!

I photographed a wedding (one so far) at the Isabel Bader Centre in 2023, and had an excellent experience. The ceremony venue is beautiful, the reception space is spacious, well lit, and stunningly gorgeous, and the building and surrounds provide ample opportunities for creative portraits and dynamic family formals. The dinner and service were also excellent. Very excited to photograph more weddings here.

Great way to spend a nice day on the water. Staff are great. Shout out to Charlotte for going above and beyond! The price is also great. $18 per hour for kayaking is super reasonable.

A great place to rent an e-bike. Andrew the owner was helpful and polite. At $20/hr it was the most economical option in the area and he had bikes available same day. They offered bike locks, helmets and bungee cords with the rental. One of our bikes was perfect, the other didn't so as much as an assist (seemed to be an older white model). My other half got a workout. The young people working there were willing to help and paid attention to detail. They gave us maps and suggestions on where to go. Parking was an issue as there alot of road restrictions and the small parking lot was full. $1.50/hour if you found a spot. There is another lot 10 minute walk, but its $2/hour. The bike path itself is confusing, it ends at a strange spot, puts you on a major road and back on the water again. The signs are really not clear (not Ahoys fault). But the area is beautiful. They rent kayaks and other water stuff too.

Had a fantastic experience with Ahoy Rentals as part of our 24-hour K-Pass! We received a complimentary two-hour bike rental and couldn’t have asked for better service. Andrew and his team were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive to all our needs. The bikes were in great shape and perfect for exploring Kingston’s beautiful waterfront trail. Highly recommend Ahoy for anyone looking to add a fun and scenic ride to their visit!
Rob W — Google review
Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with the sailing lesson - the lesson did not feel organized and would have benefitted greatly from some structure and proactive teaching as opposed to the feeling of just winging everything. I’d recommend other options in the area specifically for sailing lessons as the owner Andrew does not seem willing to prioritize this offering and the instructor wasn’t set up well to teach

In between tastings, the tour provides insights into the city's rich history with short stops at historic landmarks like the old Kingston train station.
We were in Kingston for a girl's weekend and were looking for something fun to do on a winter day. I discovered the Kingston Food Tours and we had a blast! On Saturday afternoon we did the Tapas tour with Jessica. The restaurants were unique and completely local, the food and drink were excellent and it was only made better by our guide Jessica. She was kind as well as incredibly knowledgeable about the food, the food origins and local history. Highly recommend - 5 stars.

We (my Google account uses my pseudonym, but in case Jess is reading this: it's B&B) just finished our tour with Jessica, and it was amazing! All of the food destinations were spectacular, and Jess had such passion and deep knowledge of everything. If you have never been to Kingston before, and/or would like an amazing tour of some of the local restaurants, we highly recommend you take this tour!

The Great Lakes Museum, formerly known as the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, is a modest yet fascinating museum located at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour in Kingston. Established by local divers in 1975 to preserve shipwreck artifacts, it now forms part of the National Historic Site of the Kingston Dry Docks. The museum offers insights into Kingston's maritime heritage and its connection to the Great Lakes through exhibits on shipwrecks, lighthouses, ecosystems, and water quality.
I had a friend visiting from out of town and decided to purchase a couple of premium tickets to tour the Keewatin as a form of entertainment. We visited the museum and took in the sights before heading out on a 90 minute guided tour. We were not disappointed. We learned a great deal about history and in particular this Cruise Ship built in Scotland in 1907. Our tour escort was friendly, well informed and we had a chance to inspect and learn about the upper levels of the ship. Museum staff were also friendly and helpful. All in all it was a great experience and one we would recommend to anyone with an interest in early transportation, history and Canadiana. Parking was just outside the Museum and free.

We came from Montreal just for the Keewatin. We did the passenger experience tour. We loved the tour so much, we couldn’t get enough. We should have bought tickets for the engine room. Guess we will have to come back! The exhibits were beautifully staged with attention to detail and accuracy. Our tour guides went above and beyond both during the tour and afterwards.

Very informative and enjoyable tour of the S.S. Keewatin, a decommissioned steam ship built in 1907. Most Edwardian steamships have been scrapped so this old girl is unique. She has been beautifully restored and the guides are very knowledgeable. We did the engine tour as well as the tour of the passenger areas, and both were excellent. Visiting the museum proper is included in the cost of the ticket. This museum was an excellent way to spend a rainy afternoon.

The tour of the engine room was short but impressive. Our guide, Mya, carefully explained almost every part of this giant system and did her best to answer all our questions patiently. Even as someone outside this field, I could still feel the meticulous design and the sheer power made by this pre-electric era marvel.

We had a wonderful experience at the Great Lakes Ship Museum in Kingston! Our guide Thisandy was absolutely fantastic — engaging, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating stories that brought history to life. The tour was perfectly organized and enjoyable for everyone — adults, teens, and younger kids alike. We especially appreciated the headsets provided during the tour — such a thoughtful detail! It made it easy to hear the guide clearly without having to stay too close or strain to listen, which made the whole experience more relaxed and comfortable. The ship itself is beautifully restored, and the atmosphere is conveyed with great care and authenticity. Everything is so well presented — you really feel transported back in time. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in history or maritime life!

An amazing piece of history! The tour was wonderful with comfortable headsets ensuring all could hear the guide. It is a very fortunate series of events that saved this vessel, and we were lucky to tour it. Even in a state of repair and restoration we could feel the comfort and clever design. The AC here is excellent, which makes watching a game very comfortable, especially on hot days. The arena is well maintained and clean, and the staff are always kind and professional, which really adds to the experience. The only drawback is that the seating feels quite small and close together, so it can get a bit cramped during busy events. Overall, though, it’s a solid venue with great atmosphere, friendly service, and everything kept in good shape.
Dantheman R — Google review
Seen 5440 and Foreigner.. the show was good. Didn't enjoy that there is no on site parking. The seats are so hard and uncomfortable. Drinks and food...overpriced for whats offered.

Great arena in an awesome town Kingston is a charming, bustling university town. Plenty of cute shops and boutiques and lots of great restaurants to choose from. Situated by the water, Kingston and Slush Puppie place will not disappoint. Check out Queen’s University campus as well!

Amazing stadium! Great atmosphere. Club lounge is nice. Fair entrance fee / prices. Fanshop prices also fair! Best team! Go Fronts go!

Managing Type 1 Diabetes for a 5-year-old is challenging, and constant access to water and food is essential for his safety. Despite his backpack being filled with medical supplies and clearly marked with medical alert tags, staff required us to dump his water at the door. Their suggestion to refill it inside is not acceptable in a medical situation where immediate access is critical. Denying basic medical accommodations puts people at risk, and the Ontario Human Rights Code and AODA take precedence over any venue policy. I hope management reviews this and improves staff training on medical accessibility.
Tyler B — Google review
What a great place to watch a comedian, hockey 🏒 or a concert. This was an amazing experience with Jim Jefferies as one of my favorite comedians in a smaller venue than going to Toronto or Ottawa 💯. The new arena is amazing compared to what I grew up watching the Kingston Generals as a kid. Great place to watch anyone without going to a major city, and it's a beautiful town. I highly recommend giving this place and town a try 💯.

Cataraqui Cemetery and Funeral Services is a local cemetery that provides birth and death dates, often published in alphabetical order by genealogical societies. Despite the current circumstances, taking a walk through the cemetery can be quite rewarding. Visitors have praised the helpful staff for assisting in locating their ancestors' graves. It's important to ensure proper registration of interment rights with the cemetery.
Such a pleasure to enjoy the grounds and tranquility, thanks so much.
Keith F — Google review
It's unfortunate the coordinators don't think disabled people having access to the grave sites of loved ones is important. Not cool.
CatMommy84 — Google review
Spent some time cleaning headstones in the Military Section of the cemetery. There is so much to see and learn. Take some time to walk around and observe the history here.
Matthew M — Google review
Catharine was more than amazing helping me find my great grandparents, and navigating the cemetery to find them. They ended up not being in the Cataraqui Cemetery, but the staff at the main office building called over to Glenhaven to find my grandparents. It wouldn't have been as simple as it was without the help of Catherine! Thank you again! :)

Always very friendly and caring people I have buried both my parents in this cemetery before I was 33 and would highly recommend the staff to anyone who ask

The Engine 1095 museum is a large and beautiful train engine located in front of City Hall by the waterfront. It is a great site for young children and daughter enjoyed it very much. The engine has been well maintained and is an amazing sight.
This beautifully restored old train sits proudly in front of Kingston City Hall and adds a special character to the area. Kids love getting close and climbing the little stairs, and it makes for a perfect photo stop during your walk. The surrounding park is clean and vibrant, making it a great place to take a short break and enjoy a bit of local history.
Amir K — Google review
This train is free to visit, and has a few free parking spots. It's hard to miss seeing the Engine 1095, as it's located just by the visitor centre, behind the Kingston sign. It was very clean here, and not crowded at all when we visited on a weekend afternoon. Plus, there's even a miniature version of the train in front of the Kingston sign. It's very cute! The Engine 1095 is an amazing landmark, marking the history of the railway industry and technology in the 19th century. 🚂
E T — Google review
It's a beautiful spot for a sunny weekend. 2 hours drive from Toronto you can take transit as well. Check out for any events it's a bonus. If you drive there is a fort to visit don't miss it.

Came across Engine 1095 while exploring downtown Kingston — such a cool historic landmark! 🚂✨ The restored steam locomotive looks amazing up close and is a great tribute to the city’s railway heritage. It’s located right by Confederation Park and City Hall, making it an easy and worthwhile stop for photos and a quick look at Kingston’s past. A must-see for history and train enthusiasts alike! 🚆📸

Engine 1095 is a very cool looking and large train engine in front of City Hall by the waterfront. I'm not sure why this landmark shouldn't get a 5 star rating. This is a great site for young children; My daughter enjoyed it very much.
Jeremy D — Google review
Great attractions for kids. They loved to see small an big trains. The place is nicely maintained and not very busy. Kids can take pics. There is small train model in the front side and kids can stand inside. The other one in the back is huge. Don't forgot to take photo from the front side.
Jaspal S — Google review
Engine 1095 is the “Spirit of Sir John A.”, named after the first PM of Canada. Both the train engine and Sir John A. Macdonald originally hailed from Kingston. Built in 1913, this train engine was returned to Kingston after service in 1966 and recently restored in 2013. It is an impressive photo-op spot, just don’t stand onto the train! We saw many new students celebrating their Queens University graduation by this spot. There is also a smaller replica for kids to play in front of the Kingston sign nearby.

St. Mary's Cathedral is one of the most beautiful and historically significant churches in Montreal. Built over a period of more than 100 years, it has been witness to many important events in Canadian history, including the first Roman Catholic Bishop in English Canada. The cathedral is known for its stunning architecture and excellent choir service. However, parking can be a challenge, so plan accordingly.
What a beautiful church, to bad I could not see the inside. But of you go in the afternoon the sunset light make it look mesmerizing!
EL P — Google review
One of the oldest church in Kingston! It was build during 1848 currently it is under renovation. It has parking on street. Parkings are bit congested. But the church is open. You can visit for mass and during Sunday’s. the architecture is really good and the artistic painting gives an elegance to the church. You can visit their website for mass timings.
Richard H — Google review
One of the most beautiful churches I’ve seen during my visit to Kingston.🤩😍 The architecture is absolutely stunning and rich in detail. Too bad we couldn’t go inside, but even from the outside, it left a lasting impression. A must-see if you're in the area!

Very pretty and tallest of all among the churches in town. We did not get chance to visit inside, but seems really worth visiting per other comments.

NB. The picture provided is of St. James Chapel - a beautiful, quiet spot perfect for prayer and solace. Visitors of all ages come here for peaceful reflection. Located in downtown Kingston between the university and main strip, parking can be tricky. It’s one of the few chapels open most of the day, making it a valuable sanctuary in the city.
Christian N — Google review
St. Mary’s Cathedral is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, welcoming, and full of history. The atmosphere is so serene, and the stained glass and architecture are breathtaking. The priests and parish team are warm and genuinely caring, making every Mass feel meaningful. It’s a perfect place for prayer, reflection, or simply finding a moment of peace in the city. Truly a gem in Kingston! 🙏

Rideau Canal, Locks 46 - 49 - Kingston Mills offers a perfect outdoor climbing experience for both beginners and experienced climbers. With over 80 climbing routes and bouldering tracks, it's an ideal spot to practice climbing skills. The site features bolts at the top of cliffs for easy setup and accessible catch-points for trad or lead climbing.
Beautiful place to visit and if lucky watch boats passing through the locks. It's dangerous for unattended kids as there are no barriers to the canal and there are steep falls. Parents beware. Otherwise a great place to walk along the canal, into the path to the woods. If you like to fish, bring your gear.

Great view of lake and to see lock system. The view was amazing and had spend good time with family. Restrooms are available and accessible as well. Parking is available and it’s free.

Very scenic place, you do not need to be on a boat to enjoy it. A few short hiking trails in the area as well. Very much worth the stop. You can boat and train watch all in 1 place 😎

Awesome Canal park, it’s small but unique multi level Canal. Fun to walk over the canal wall. people do fishing. Free parking. We saw Otters roaming freely. The trail below the canal is raw with rough rocks.
Aravind S — Google review
I love visiting locks on the Rideau Canal, and especially the sets with multiple locks in one site. This is a lovely location for a picnic, a swim (above the upper lock), or a pedagogical tour to learn about hydrology, geology, CDN history, and/or the functioning of locks. Ask questions! The lock master had the answers and some of his assistants do, too.

A great sunday picnic with family and friends. It's my first time to see the locks opened. It was a great system for them to go through the way. A must see attraction in Kingston, Ontario.

Nestled in the heart of Kingston, Ontario, Martello on Brock is a vibrant art gallery that invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world of creativity. This charming space, set within a historic limestone building, showcases an impressive array of contemporary Canadian art from both emerging and established talents. As you wander through the gallery, you'll discover an ever-changing collection that includes everything from stunning paintings to intricate sculptures and stained glass pieces.
David and Wendy are amazing people!! We chatted about Kingston, learnt about David’s artwork and much more. Will definitely come back again!
Roxanne X — Google review
A hidden gem in Kingston with beautiful artwork and very friendly staff. They also run another store nearby, Martello Alley, which is absolutely worth a visit as well.
Kevin S — Google review
Wonderful arts, tableaux are very beautiful, outstanding costumer service
Fahmi F — Google review
ALERT:! We went in to have a look at the Art work & what we encountered was a disgruntled & very unhappy owner with biases against anyone who doesn’t share his leftist propaganda. He first criticized the art alley in Quebec city, referring to the French as snobs & then he went on a rant about the Freedom convoy & all who participated as idiots & used many other insults saying, that they had no clue about the Charter of Rights & Freedom. Very unprofessional Biased & Ignorant. Your shop has cameras & the footage & audio will provide proof of my statements. I have only stated facts & not afraid of revealing the footage & your biased opinions. I stand by my assessment regarding your ignorant remarks & opinions & completely disagree with them.
SoulsSeven — Google review
Went into both locations with my friend and felt, quite frankly, unwelcome in one store-the Alley location, where we tried to engage the proprietor in conversation about the beauty of the work and local artists (we were the only ones in the store, in the mid-afternoon), and were ignored. Then we went to the second location, I think hoping for a better experience. My friend tells the self-proclaimed owner of this store that we are just visiting, and he starts to launch into a rant about unscheduled work happening at the other location. For far too long. I tried more than once to pull my friend away, it was just so unprofessional. The owner then forced us to like his social media in front of other customers as part of a demonstration. Would love to visit again, but perhaps if there is a focus on the local artists and their work, instead of these terrible experiences.

Martello on Brock is full of fabulous local art. Something new every time I go in. David and Wendy are very friendly and knowledgeable about all the artists.
