Great find in Tromso! My Initial thoughtsof this place was that it didn't have a very varied menu. But that didn't matter. I had the duck starter with demi glaze, and the sauce was so go, and went perfectly with the duck and salad, thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.
Had the cod for mains and again everything on the plate just went so well, the corn espuma sauce was delicious with the fish...not sure the salsa really belonges there, but it didn't take anything away from the dish, so will just accept it there. Also the cod on its own was also tasty...unlike fish in other places that just taste bland without the other bits. The reindeer dish my partner had was also good.
The chocolate fondant was also very nice.
I had the aperol spritz cocktail which in most places is watered down with tonic, but not here, was just the aperol and sparkling wine and was well worthit. All in all was a really good experience and would recommend them. They also have a bar, which we didn't try, but could be nice to go for an after dinner drink.
Only downside is, the tables were quite small! But that contributes to a cosy vibe...Still slightly bigger tables would be appreciated.

The lady boss is super nice! They switch up the menu every two months, so don’t go by the food pics on Google Maps when you order – they won’t match. Kinda bummer the fish soup doesn’t come with bread, though.
Highly recommend the local cake! It’s really unique – there’s this foam made with some special plant and berries, plus a base that’s like cookie crumbs. Super distinct, totally worth a try.
Run, don’t walk… one of my best meals in Norway! He had the meat of the day (short ribs), I had the lamb chops - wow - both were absolutely amazing! Very tasty and tender - so delicious!! I would highly recommend! Also had the veal tartare - delicious!!!
The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the reindeer steak and the whole fish — both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
The staff were extremely warm and friendly, making us feel truly welcome and comfortable throughout our visit.

Cosy setting, it is like the fusion of a Nordic tavern with a library. Very kind personnel that speaks easily English. Tried the salmon, clearly very fresh. Not expensive at all.

LOVED this place - very warm, convivial, great staff and the food was fantastic. I came here for late lunch on a Saturday and it was just perfect in every way - they sat me by a window and I could watch it snowing outside while I devoured the delicious fish soup. I also had the fish special and the lemon curd dessert. Highly recommend. Not fussy but so cool.

Ølhallen, the oldest pub in Tromso, has a rich history dating back to 1928. Initially exclusive to men with no toilet facilities for women, it eventually became more inclusive. The decor exudes old-school charm with its exposed brick, tiled floors, and hunting memorabilia. Situated near the Arctic Circle, Ølhallen offers a relaxed atmosphere where locals and visitors can savor Norway's finest beers and delicious food.
I don’t drink beer but I found the non alcoholic one js rather light and fresh! And the interior is so interesting! Good to see their movie about their history, and it was great experience.

The bar is well located and is very charming! It does not feel like a local spot but rather a tourist trap … They have an amazing selection of local beers. Keep in mind that the beers are pretty pricey (1 small glass of beer is about 12$CAD)
Great selection of local and international beers! The staff are friendly and knowledgable about their selection of beers. Super cool atmosphere and a great place to kick back and grab a drink.
Huge beer selection. They offer three different sizes so that was cool. I got a ginger viking drink and it just tasted like ginger ale. It was so delicious I loved it. Drinks were expensive. The place was very clean and cute. The bathrooms were kinda gross though they smelled like pee very strongly.
Really great beer hall. The selection is fantastic, and it's all kept well. The interior has a cool brick design and is very comfortable. The taster boards are a really good way to try many recommended beers. The staff are pretty knowledgable about the beer as well.

Blårock Cafe is a popular dining spot in Tromso, offering a diverse range of local and international dishes for delivery through foodora. The cafe is renowned for its classic hamburgers and has been a buzzing institution for over 30 years. Its exterior, adorned with blue paint, reflects its name "Blå," which means blue in Norwegian. No complaints! Everything was great, awesome food, great service, fun atmosphere. Bartenders spoke very well English and they had English menus as well. You pick a table and order your food and drinks at the bar. They had many local beers on tap that were delicious! They had two local IPA choices and many different lagers and ales. We got the dirty fries they were so good we had to go back the next day for more. I got a pixies burger it had feta and balsamic on it. They had lots of unique burger choices. The posters on the wall were super cool and gave the place a nice vibe. The place was quiet and good to go with friends to chit chat. The food came out quick.

great atmosphere, seeing those kinds of posters is really nice (and the music too)!! the burgers were ok, a little bit expensive for what saw inside them, and the fries were tkt expensive. the salad was okay, but lacked flavor. to order, you need to go to the bar and ask otherwise no one will serve u.

As a vegetarian, it’s often difficult to find tasty and satisfying options, but this place really delivers. They use the delicious Beyond Meat patty, and the burger I chose with blue cheese inside was simply incredible. Paired with their “dirty fries” in the veggie version (without bacon) and a refreshing, locally served IPA from the bar, it was the perfect meal.
The restaurant itself has a fun, original vibe, the food is outstanding, and the team is genuinely warm and welcoming.
If you’re in Tromsø and looking for amazing burgers – vegetarian or not – this is without doubt the best place I can recommend. A must-try for food lovers! 🍔✨
It was our first time here and the place was really cool and finally not some radio music but rock. We had burgers with fries. My burger was vegan and it was tasty. The fries had a good seasoning! I would recommend trying them for sure. Beer was good as well.

Blarock Café in Tromsø is an absolute must-visit! The highlight has to be their Beyond Meat burger. It’s juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
The café itself has such a cool, relaxed vibe, with stylish décor and music that sets the perfect mood. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy your food, and soak in the atmosphere. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel special.
The dish was delicious, and the place was extraordinarily well decorated in a rock band and legends theme. However, the service was very slow. We were indeed a large group, but I was the first to order and pay and the last to be served and have dinner!

We followed the recommendations from Google Review. We had the lemonade drinks with alcohol! This is a must try! It was really good!
We also followed the recommendations to try out the pizza with salmon and shrimps. It came with pesto base with a pinch of basil. We love it but I guess it depends on personal preference since the base might not be the usual pizza’s base.

Must visit in Tromsø!
It’s an old famous bar in Tromsø, they have live music almost every night of the week. The artist performing was really good! The atmosphere is really nice!
You can also enjoy their terrace if the weather is good.

Just in front of the Port, this typical pub had great local food and atmosphere. We didn't reserve a table but the employees were so kind to find something. We ate meat and fish typical soup and everything was very good. I suggest you try it also because we had the opportunity to see some northern lights right after dinner.
Went for a drink on a saturday night. There was a band. People were happy and dancing. The band seems good but personally didn’t recognize any song so didn’t enjoy it very much. The selection of drinks at the bar is mainly beer.. didnt see Cocktails or something special. The pub is cosy and big, 2 floors and was full! Congratulations!

As we were there during the the infamous covid-days, I felt like the place took good care to prevent infections and still provide a fun might out.
We got our own table, ordered at the bar, and they came with the drink to the table. Thought drinking, people were following the guidelines and guards took a round every now and then to keep up with what was going on.

Quite disappointed as the reviews were good. Ordered a reindeer burger and potato with reindeer. Both were average at most. Burger was overcooked and tasted like a frozen patty. Potato with reindeer was average and cold. For the first night in Tromso and considering the price we expected more. Service was questionable and we felts quite unwelcome. Be prepared to order your food at the bar - luckily food was brought to the table once paid.
A bar with different decorations, a bit dark, a limited menu (baked sweet potatoes, pancakes and burgers - including reindeer) and drinks. Food was ok, nothing special.

Food is limited, one vegetarian option beneath fries- veggie pancake. Sadly it was already cold, because my order was forgotten (the server was busy with his friends). Also, salad inside a pancake is an interesting idea, I am glad I tied it, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.
My cocktail was also forgotten. After asking for it, it was brought to me very quickly and it was good.
Staff was very friendly, said they were sorry about the order. Nevertheless, not an overly great experience. For going out having a few drinks you should be fine (especially because the place as a very nice atmosphere).

We had ordered 3 burgers and a baked potato.
Burger patties had red chilli peppers inside so my 8yo couldn’t eat. Fries were large floppy greasy potato slices so she wouldn’t have that either and I can’t blame her.
My baked potato was lukewarm.
So either it was microwaved too short or left to get cold… Tasted ok but over 1 hour wait for cold food?
I ordered a second beer (same thing), and it was a different beer 🤡
Table had crumbs all over, even though we arrived at opening… What gives?! 🤣🤦♀️

Ive spent some fun evenings here with coworkers. The price to value ratio on food is competitive for Tromsø, but I think the highlight is the Dall Sheep mount upstairs. Great ambience, overall.

So much fun! Went on a Tuesday night, they had live music. The band was awesome. The bar service was slow but there was only one bar tender and the place was packed. Drinks were reasonably priced. Bathrooms were clean. The place was so packed it was hard to find somewhere to stand/sit. But worth it because it was fun!
Talking about beers. They have plenty. Too much to choose from. Nevertheless, it's heaven, for an IPA lover. Try Orange Velvet. It tastes likewise. Tromsø has the same feel. Kind people. Safe environment. Velvet City.
This is a fun little bar that has a standard beer offer. The night I went in, there was an open mic night where people were not only singing, but playing instruments too. There was a good atmosphere that night. It is quite fun watching people sing lyrics that they don’t understand. Reminds me of a gay bar in Madrid, where the drag queens sang lyrics to popular tunes and it was clear they didn’t understand a word of what they were singing.
Came here a couple of times; once early in the evening when the place was quiet, once late at night during a gig when the place was heaving. Good drinks, lovely staff, cool crowd, all around nice vibes. Cool lavatory as well!
Not for everyone, but it has been around Tromso for some time. You have to enjoy the metal music and the tongue in cheek cocktails, but the bartender was very informative.

CASA INFERNO is a lively pizzeria located just off Tromsos two busiest streets, drawing in both locals and tourists. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the restaurant offers fantastic service and delicious pizza served shortly after ordering. The theme of the restaurant is intriguing with its hellish decor, but it doesn't overshadow the fine flavors of their piping hot pizza pies that are dripping with cheese and flavor.
The pizza came out very quickly, even though the place was full (we received them all at once in about 10-15 minutes). The lady who served us was very kind, checked in on us multiple times to see if everything was to our liking, and was smiling and friendly throughout. It’s definitely worth making a reservation in advance, as it’s quite busy, and you might not get a table if you don’t book ahead on the website. For dessert, I highly recommend the fonduta di cioccolato—it’s divine and not too heavy.
FYI they will charge you for the water and the nuts, but you can ask for a refill, so feel free to do so.

Great pizza at Casa Inferno! We
Had the margharita pizza and the Parma ham pizza. Several aflame inferno pizzas went by also. All were excellent. The olives and almonds were appreciated and good. A great and fun vibe!! Recommended!

We went on a Sunday around 700p. Very busy. We were able to put our name in for a 845p reservation. They close at 1000p. Everyone working was really pleasant. The person serving us was informative, pleasantly funny and taught us some basic italian pronunciation. We got the bruschetta and 4 pizzas to try/share. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had a bit of left overs. The ambiance is nice. The presentation was great. This was a pleasant find during our short stay in tromso. We saw a few of the inferno pizzas come out...it was cool to see. Highly recommend
Very authentic Italian pizza and a very cozy, well-decorated restaurant. I’ve been both times I’ve visited Tromsø and it is so worth it.
We visited this Italian pizzeria and the food was good, but not outstanding. The atmosphere was very nice, but the restaurant is quite small for the number of guests. Since there were always people waiting for a table, several customers were standing in the doorway, and it wasn’t really clear where they should wait, which let some cold air into the restaurant. The pizzas were tasty and the staff very friendly. You should definitely make a reservation in advance, otherwise you’ll probably have to wait quite a while.
I love this place. Been here for a while now and was really missing some classic style pizza. The day I first went to Cafe inferno my life changed. It wasn't just "good for norway" no, this is amazing pizza all together. I have been to Italy and some places there just don't have the same passion in their food as they do at Cafe inferno. Arrived late on (an hour before closing) and were lucky enough to get a table straight away. Pizza’s were excellent and also the option of a gluten free base which was needed for us. About average price but very good quality. Would go again.

Cafe Sånn is a quirky cafe located in the heart of Tromso, offering a casual and cozy atmosphere reminiscent of the set of Friends. Despite its coffee shop ambiance, it boasts 8 taps of beer and around a hundred different bottles, featuring local craft beers as well as selections from Europe and the United States.
Cute cafe with really cozy setup. Different types of tables, high tops, sofas, half booths. Ideal for any need, whether you're working, catching up with a friend or on a date. We stopped in around 10pm to get hot chocolate. She was about to close the machine, but made the chocolate for me, which was much needed to warm up! She was very sweet and the hotel chocolate was absolute perfection!!!

We visited during the day for drinks— I had two glasses of wine and my partner two beers. The total came to around 90€, which felt rather expensive for just drinks. That said, beer lovers will appreciate the varied selection they offer, with beers from all around the world. Since we didn’t order any food, I can’t comment on that. The service was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. They even had board games available; we played Catan and Ticket to Ride. Although both games were missing some pieces, it didn’t really spoil the fun.
Really cool café where you can buy everything from a regular Coffe, tea, different types of coffe (caffe latte, americano, cappuccino, and so on) to a drink, or two. The bar is awesome and here you can find all your favorites drinks and even come across some you haven't tried yet. You may want to try some beer. If you are hungry for more than a cup of tea, you can find a variety of different pastry ; buns, waffels AND Norwegian vafler with sour cream and home made strawberry jam, crepes /pancakes, french croissantes, cake... You can see for yourself.
It's a cozy place, and the decor on the walls are not only pictures. I love the snugg interiør, the squashy chairs, cool pieces of art, the handsome man who makes the coffe, the people who are regular customers and who sit there almost every day and then again in the evening. It's a nice place to go to on a friday or a saturday night, to meet new people, or old friends, to have a drink or a beer, or soda, to relax or just sit there for a while.
Ostensibly a cafe, but with a whole load of beers on tap! Staff were helpful, we had some fruited sours which were both very good, plenty of choice in here drink wise and the food also looked really nice. Liked it a lot.

Huken Pub is a small, cozy outpost that stays open late and offers a relaxed atmosphere. It's not your typical pub, but more of a burger and old rock tea bar with a great selection of beers and drinks. Despite its small size, it's a popular spot so arriving early is recommended. The food, especially the burgers, is outstanding and consistently good. If burgers aren't your thing, they also offer delicious options like blueberry bacon pancakes.
Wow. The burgers here are really outstanding and among the best I've ever eaten. I went back a few times and the quality is consistent. If not in the mood for a burger, try the blueberry bacon pancake. Not as good as the burgers in my opinion, but still excellent. Service is friendly and attentive.

This is a cozy little pub and the food is quite delicious. We got the BBQ bacon burger and the pancake taco. The sauce on the burger was tasty and it the burger had so much flavor. The pancake taco was very unique and tasted great. We got the bigger pancake taco and it was huge. It could have fed two people. The potatoes that the burger was served with were pretty good as well. We also enjoyed the local beer and cider options they had. The service was fast and friendly. They have free wifi and an English menu.
This is not a pub!...well from what i know of pubs....this is more like a Burger/Old Rock tea bar...excluding the tea. Food is to die for and there is a good selection of beers and drinks available. This place can only hold about 30 people. So be sure to arrive earlier in the day as it gets crowded. Don't be put off by the size, great place to escape the cold and have a conversation with friends and or partner. Music great if you like classic rock but not loud so that you cant talk.
Very welcoming and attentive staff. The food was some of the best we had in Tromsø, especially the reindeer pie! It's a cosy place to warm up and relax after being battered by the cold weather outside. Some of the dining tables are intimately close to eachother, we went on a quiet afternoon, but if it was busy, I can imagine it feeling quite cramped. Very lively on a Friday and Saturday night. The outdoor seating is a nice place to enjoy a drink and people watch.

Is a small place and always crowded but could get a sit without an issue. Oh, no parking. You can park on city parking lots - around 15 NOK an hour.

Nice little restaurant by the water. I tried whale for the first time which was a great experience and it was basically a fishy steak which I enjoyed! Crème brûlée for dessert is just standard!

We came it at around 20:00 and was greeted by a not friendly waitress, she told us there was no table left and we would have to wait 1 hour. We came back about 10 minutes later into another entrance and were given a table immediately since there were alot empty tables. We ordered Fish and chips, whales steak and Reindeer soup. Food came 30 minutes later. The fish and chips was fried so hard and oily, whale steak was more than well done although we ordered medium. Only the soup was fine. I feel like they don't care because they think we are tourists and wont come back. I would not recommend this place. I love fish and chips and this was not easy to chew and swallow. I cant taste the freshness of the fish, the batter was so hard :((
The reindeer burger was tasty and well-prepared. We also tried the whale steak — not really our preferred flavor, but it was interesting to experience and it was decent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself has a warm atmosphere. On top of that, the view over the harbor is absolutely beautiful and makes the visit even more enjoyable.
I was in Tromsø with my mother this week for three days, and we went there for lunch on two of those days. Everything was spectacular — the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Beautiful views of the harbor.
We recommend trying the creamy prawns, the salmon, and the reindeer stew. We especially fell in love with the fish soup with salmon and cod. And they have spanish beer!!! ( estrella galicia)

Nice atmosphere, came in during lunch, friendly service staff. Food was good; tried whale meat steak, arctic fish n chips, reindeer stew and crab sandwich! Dun rly recommend the fish n chips (too much breading)
A bit pricey for the portions; we ordered $65 king crab (which is supposed to be a local and common food) expecting to get at the very least one entire crab at that price tag...you be the judge (see pic).
Reindeer burger was tasty but also quite small, we had to make a pit stop at the 7/11 afterwards; don't think we'll be going back, there are plenty of better price/quality/portion ratio restaurants in town.
We tried Cod fish and Salmon and both were delicious, fresh ingredients and good service

A warm cappuccino and even warmer service!
We’re on a 17-day cruise through Norway, and Tromsø was today’s port of call. After walking extensively—including all the way across the Tromsø Bridge and back—my husband had a serious craving for a cappuccino.
We tried two coffee shops before this one. The first had a 10-minute wait. The second told us they couldn’t make the cappuccino hot enough and offered to microwave it (no thanks!).
Then we found **Helmersen**, right next door. A young man behind the counter confidently told my husband he could make it *extra hot*. He absolutely delivered—my husband was *so* happy.
This place turned our afternoon around. Friendly service, a cozy atmosphere, and most importantly, a cappuccino made *just right*. Highly recommend if you’re in Tromsø and in need of a great coffee and even better attitude.
Fantastic last stop in Tromsø! A wonderful place run by great people. The cheese counter, wine selection, atmosphere and service make you feel truly welcome.
A deli always has nice meat and cheese plates! A very cool relaxing atmosphere. Our server Martina was very pleasant and contributed to our overall wonderful and relaxing experience.
Amazing experience once again. We visited in 2023 on a cruise, and again just a few days ago. The breakfast was incredible, and all three of us could not stop raving about it. Great service, great food, great drinks. Only slight disappointment was that the granola mixture and jam is not available to buy to take home - missing a trick here, guys. Hope to see you again before too long.

Truffle chips turned out to be potato chips & not fries. We had a bread basket with cream cheese but it had pork sausage which we didn’t imagined.
A clear demarcation on the food items will be a good addition to the menu.
Excellent wine bar with a menu, not large, but good. I had the roastbeef sandwich and it was tasty. Good and polite service. And if you love all thing Italian to eat, you can get almost everything in this place. An extra star for the cleanliness of the toilet! Very big handicap toilet, that was sooo clean.
If you are searching as Pilgrim a true coffee experience, here we are! Very nice place in the heart of Trømso, where you can taste fine delicacies and an authentic coffee! One of the best in Norway

Felt more like a cross between a lounge and a cafe. Soft music, dim lights, game, comfortable seating. Indoor & outdoor seating. Pleasant. Open late. Seems family run. Frequented by locals as well which is always a good sign. Pleasant but not friendly service. Very well located. Missing that X factor but decent.
We had two capuccinos and they were boiling hot so we burned our tongues. Also they tasted too watery. No good coffee aroma. Can't recommend this place for coffee lovers. There is also a small cake and baked stuff selection but it doesn't look that appealing either. But it's cozy and the atmosphere is beautiful. Dark and warm lights. I found it a bit cold in there even though I sat far away from the entrance door.
Nice place to stop for a beer and food if you want to.
A Disappointing Experience
I recently visited Solid, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. While we were informed upfront that the food would take some time, which we appreciated, the overall service and cleanliness were major letdowns.
The tables were not properly cleaned when we arrived, and throughout our visit, the staff seemed inattentive. Dirty dishes sat on tables for far too long, and when waiters did clear them, they would only take one plate at a time, leaving the rest behind for several more minutes. It gave the impression of disorganization and a lack of care for the dining environment.
While the food itself was decent, the long wait combined with the poor service and lack of cleanliness made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. I hope the management takes steps to improve these areas, as the experience could be significantly better with more attention to detail and customer care.

I have been to Solid many times. Sometimes for drinks at night, for coffee in the morning or even for lunch. They have a good selection of drinks and a few nice things to eat. I got this fantastic omelette last time and it was quite a good lunch. They also serve delicious cinnamon roles that are perfect for a Sunday morning together with a Chai latte or coffee. The location is ideal, since it is in the middle of Storgata (main street). Solid is definitely one of the safest choices in Tromsø, you can’t never go wrong going there!
Great comfy cocktail spot, we enjoyed having a drink here and a snack. The mulled wine was super tasty!

Came for fish and chips! AMAZING! The service was also awesome the bartender was super friendly and had a cool background. He talked to us for awhile and made us a special drink. The place was cute and not too busy on a Tuesday afternoon. The sauce with the fish and chips was sooooo good!
Didn't have a booking anywhere in a Monday night and after being turned away from a few places ended up here so came with no real expectation but was pleasantly surprised. Good selection of burgers and other similar style food. Nothing fancy but exactly what I needed pre a northern lights tour.

But my rating comes from the fact that I showed up when it was empty and asked for the ice hockey world championship. When the third period was to start all screens turned to different premier league matches.
When asked if they could leave one 27” monitor by the bar I was told no and it was all connected. It was a SmartTV so I asked if I could just login with my account and sign out after but it was no interest from bartender. 👎🏻
Didn't order food. But I was on a date who really like Guinness and this is one of two places in town who have it on tap. It's a sports bar. What I didn't expect was the 4 people on duty to take their smoke pause at the same time. Never seen the like before in Norway. Not during a busy time.

Great place, Steien provided amazing service. We had a 2 year old with us and he was patient and accommodating. The rack of lamb was made to perfection and we ordered potato wedges for our 2 year old he loved them. Puesto Pasta with chicken was spot on. Oh and the music was great !

Called in for a drink. Ended with too many. They had song bingo. Which was mostly Norwegian so I was lost but I played loads of board games which was fun. Great bar and great fun plus food was nice. I highly recommend from the rest of the bars in tromso for good fun.
Good food (basic chips), we had their famous reindeer burger. Really nice set-up with friendly staff and competitive prices. A little negative was the smell of the male toilets, it smelt very strongly of toilet cleaner, which almost felt like it was burning my nostrils.
Good place to hang out with friends throughout the week. You can sit up or down in the go down bar.

A lot of security but nobody is realy looking about people who do trouble(except for my bf who took a look at me), one guy punshed me more than just once in front of the stage and i do have some trouble with my knee so he hurt me really. Nice club and location but way too many people, way too much security for nothing. Love norway and the nation anyway

I don't really understand where the claim "one of the best burgers in town" originates from. The bread is the kind you get from the grocery store and the meat paddies are too. Nothing I would spend that much money on again.

Although it closes at 11 pm , we came at 10 but we were not seated because the staff claimed that the place closes at 10 pm and no orders can be taken even for take out!
The working hours on the restaurant door even says it closes at 11 pm!
