We stopped by out of curiosity but unfortunately nothing here caught our attention. Building is nice but regarding exposition, not much was going on. I really appreciate the craft making for kids though. Nice gift shop and cafeteria. No fee for entrance, paid parking available.

The art museums of Umeå are located in the art campus of the university. One of the best views of Umeå is here. The exhibition changed in a few months so you will be able to see something new every time. They also have some amazing events in the museum as well. Free guided tours are a huge plus for me. Overall it's a very nice museum to visit.

We were here through our short trip to Umeå. We used their luggage storage, which was free of charge. There was a good library with comfortable sofas. Also, there were some artistic works inside and outside. The lack of guidance, especially in English, was a big problem.

A beautiful place from both outside and inside. Situated near a beautiful river and the view is mesmerising from the musuem. A very fun and interesting place to spend a day. Lot of activities happening every week during the spring which are absolutely free of cost and anyone interested in those can join. It's open for all. They have various kind of art exhibitions with different kind of themes. Sometimes there are guided tours by students of arts school when they portray their own artistic work. And some art shows on tv screens in the form of a documentary. Also many kinds of quizzes are also held sometimes. Real friendly people working there.

Amazing building with friendly staff!! I went to see a very interesting exhibition on materials of the future, but I heard they always have great stuff on. Also, the view from the top is stunning. I can't wait to go back!

Perfect place for a afternoon trip to this museum of vivid collection of guitars from around the world. Located at city center near the bus stop. Join their guided tour (both in English and Swedish) to precisely know about the all stories connected with each guitar. Exciting to learn more about the Elvis Presley and other guitar legends.

A must visit place if you love guitars. The brothers have an unique collection of the legendary masterpieaces of the 50’s and 60’s era, the born and the beginning of the electric guitars. There are some guitars you can see only here! They make a guided tour, on english too, it’s about 45 minutes. Totally worth it!

The Gothic architecture is absolutely breathtaking. The acoustics in the church are amazing. Choirs are good to attend.

Not much to look at from the outside, this church is stunningly lovely on the inside. Well worth a visit.

The museum have a great vibe. To know the snow-to-stone-to-iron-to-bronze history a great place to visit. Also you can find from where the symbol of Västerbotten county came from (you can try to find also). The buildings/structures outside the main building are also must visit. Do not forget to visit the school and get a lecture from a very cool teacher.

Totally a must go place when your in Umeå! This probably is one of the most vivid museums I’ve ever been. Starting from the ice age until futuristic art, this place covers everything. And it’s even free! While there could be more information in English (use the Google translator app), the artifacts are beautiful and the same goes for the houses as well. I also enjoyed all the artwork which was displayed. Thanks to me visiting the museum on a weekday not in season; there weren’t a lot of people and I could enjoy the art / objects. Totally recommend this place. Also, it’s easily accessible for people in wheelchairs and for cyclists there is a bycicle parking area.

Västerbotten museum locate in the Gammlia area. It's completely free to enter and have a good time here. The stuff they show here is not the most surprising, some of the descriptions only in Swedish. Overall it is still a pretty good museum especially since they have a lot of events going on here.

A beautiful place to hang out with friends. There are free dancing classes and during middommar there a lots of activities, including traditional dance presentations.

Possibly the best ski collection anywhere! Love the skiing history and the restored buildings. Best museum value (free admission) we came across on our Scandinavia trip.

Second time for me, i really think it is one of the best museums of sweden. The Staff is very informative and friendly to. Also free lockers so also great to stop by of you are on the move. And they have great changing exhibitions.

Very interesting but the map was hard to follow (we only had the digital map from online). But the park itself and the setting was really special.

The sculptures are set in amongst the beautiful grounds of the local university art school. There is quite a different collection of pieces, where some try to blend in with the nature and others just stand out. There is the reflective cube with the artificial tree bark making a path. The mirrors really reflect the surrounding trees. With others you have to move around them to get the full perspective. It is free to wander around and take in the sculptures. Definitely something recommended for a sunny nice day.

Worth a walk around a great variety of sculptures. Take a map from the entrance of Bistro le Garage.

It was good, more like a treasure hunt where you have to find these architetures throughout the park. But yes could be visited once.

Well, don’t come here during winter. Most of the sculpture are covered with snow. It’s hard to find where they are. I’m sure it will be more nice to see them on summer. I’m not sure if there is a map on the park. But better ask someone there so you won’t miss any sculpture as they scattered everywhere. I’m gonna update my review when i see them without the snow

It's an okay library, good locales to sit down and study or read at. Doesn't offer that much in terms of exciting things to see though, except for the building itself which is very cool and modern. Could be worth a visit if you are in the vicinity or looking for standard library stuff. Decent but expensive (as they tend to be) cafeteria downstairs, tricky to navigate but serves its purpose just fine.

What an exquisite experience! From the concept to execution of everything. First off, visually great and very comfortable. Each and every drink was BANGING, the staff was very professional and technically adept, friendly and just fantastic in all manners. Their approach of using only swedish ingredients on first glance looks like it should be debilitating but it elevates everything I tasted. Their genius solutions for things that most of us take for granted like lemons really help making this place a must visit and revisit. Talk to the staff, ask questions because they have answers. Interesting answers. My hat is off for them for sure. I only wish they accepted Ostrobotnia as historically or honorary swedish...

Very nice bar with a lot of cocktails and amazing view of the square at night. Keep in mind that it's on the expensive side for the drinks with an average price of 150kr. The staff are very king and skilled and the atmosphere is perfect. Note though that it's a very busy place and you might not find a place to sit if you go late. I totally recommend checking it out if you have a night in town.

Nice place on the banks of Ure River. It is a botanical garden with species of plants and trees from around the world. Nice place for taking pictures on the rocks by the river. Very peaceful walk with the sounds of birds and the river water.

The place was still covered with snow when we visited here. So it’s still wet and muddy. But we enjoyed walking here. It’s very quiet and peaceful. There’s an area where you can sit and have fika and enjoy the sound of nature. My friend told me that it’s more beautiful here during summer. It’s a nice visit though.

The arboretum is a this piece a tranquille wilderness. You can walk around in your own time and space taking in the wonders of nature in its natural environment. They have tried very hard to include those with disabilities, with a woodland path and ramps. They are talking about more improvement in the future. We'll worth a visit, go, sit and contemplate nature at its best.

The day’s menu is just 130 sek. The atmosphere is very cozy and the food is just great. Bread, fresh salad, bottle of water and coffee come included. This is a place to take it easy, regardless that the service is very fast. The staff is very nice and friendly. I will definitely come back.

This is one of the best restaurants in Umeå. Well presented dishes, that seldom will let you down. If your seated in the Plaza-area, you might find the sound environment troublesome for hearing impaired guests.

You have to order all you foods via Pinchos app which was fun and interesting. It was suggested that to order 4 items at a time as the quantity is tiny and it comes in a wooden board. The whole environment was amazing to see around and you gonna feel your in a circus 🎪 arena. Will visit again.

Really great food and super tasty. Like a Tapas bar but self service. Sadly you can’t pay in cash, you can only order on an app and you need to verify with a text message. We’re Visiting from the UK and did not receive a text. It’s been 6 hours since I requested a verification code and still not received. Was told normally takes 5-20 minutes. Luckily we are visiting Swedish friends and we’re able to order from their phones, If we did not we would’ve had to leave and find someone else to eat. It’s a Very bad system, it needs some sort of verification via email as an alternative. I can recommend that you visit, but make sure you download and verify the app in advance so you don’t waste time until they fix the issue. I wanted to give 5 stars but 3 stars for the extensive amount of time wasted and useless app and no alternative to ordering.

It's a very particular place to enjoy your dinner. Meals are composed by special and delicious tapas. Concept is fantastic, especially if you love circus theme. Prices are a little over the city standard.

Great food but service was questionable. The mobile app did not send all notifications to some of us and one of the orders arrived 50min after we ordered it as they had forgotten about it.

It was really a pleasure to be there. The food was really good and I also like the concept. I came really late (some minutes before the kitchen closed) because I just arrived from the airport. But the staff was really really friendly and kind. Since it was my first visit at Pinchos, Jessica (i hope I spell it right) took her time to tell me detailled how to register and use the app. So overall excellent food & drinks and a very nice and charming staff. Visit you again when I'm in Umea the next time.

One of my fav places in Umeå, it has wonderful kanelbulle which is my absolut fav dessert here. They also have some good pizza as well, their bread also stunning to have😋. The only down side is the coffee, it's not up to my standard, at least it's not as good as costas's one. Overall it's still the place that I will visit regularly.

Nice little lunch/fika place in Umeå centre. I liked the location with the high ceilings and lots of natural light. Good selection of pastries and I saw others getting food. It was quiet enough to sit and read. Coffee was good but the latte was too much milk for me - Umeå needs to get on the "flat white" train!

I love the concept of this building, bringing together food and books, with a fantastic selection of bakery, café, Restaurants and bars and the national library sitting one floor above. This bakery offers breakfast to the guests of the hotel (also located in the same building) but it is also open to the general public, for a delicious buffet including waffles! I had an incredibly good cinnamon bun and enjoyed my coffee too! In the evening, I saw many guests eating what looked like a delicious pizza but I did not have the chance To try it! Definitely a place worth checking out!

The place is spread across two floors, and many people opt to go to the second floor as it offers more seating, including some chairs with access to a balcony. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you have a sweet tooth. I ordered a slice of cheesecake, while my friends went for something with pistachio and a French chocolate cake. All of them were truly delicious. For coffee and tea, there was a designated table where you could serve yourself (just remember to order them at the counter first, haha). My friends were able to refill their coffee. Personally, I went for a cup of green tea, and I must say, the tea was both really good and aromatic. The café boasts a cozy atmosphere, with a style reminiscent of old European seating. My time spent here during a coffee break was delightful. I'm definitely planning to come again the next time I'm in Umeå.

I bought a chocolate cake for our Eid last year and it was very delicious and tasty. I feel price was little high but when u got such a lovely and yummy cake you feel that your money is not wasted. Staff was very nice and dealt very professionally which was nice. A good cake shop in town.

I think it's great that this museum exists. I was keen to check it out. And it was ok. They have two exhibition spaces and a gift shop. One of the exhibitions was more like an art installation which was cool. The other was just lots of details without being engaging. The gift shop had some cool things. Check it out if you are interested or around the place - probably the exhibitions change and may be better in the future.

The new restaurant electra is quite nice. Good food well made food. Don't miss going upstairs and directly to the right, the dark room there was pretty cool.

It's not really cosy and it's not the best service, but they have a buffét of top quality food that is super nice and totally worth the visit. And if you're culturally inclined, you can step out of dinner and into a concert or whatever else is playing at the opera.

We had a fantastic experience at Sjöbris! The atmosphere is vibrant and cozy, with both indoor and outdoor seating that feels welcoming and stylish. Nice restaurant, came here for a celebratory dinner. Food was fine but nothing extraordinary. We had the burrata as a starter which was tiny. The we had the pizzas which were the best from everything we had. The steak was supposed to be medium and was welldone. Burgers were okay. Service was great (we had a young polish waiter and he was very attentive and did well)! Overall nice experience but nothing exceptional 🙂

We wanted to get the experience of dine in a boat. It was congested. When it’s crowded and people talk very loudly it is not a quiet place to eat peacefully. People with claustrophobia and motion sickness have to be careful. Food was not value for money. Had a different taste. But portion was small and not delicious so as to match the price. There are other restaurants in Umeå which provide delicious food for better prices. Burger bun was cheap. The crust of the pizza was burnt and useless. The provided water bottle, no cold or lemon or mint or anything. Just normal. If they charge expensive, it’s appreciated if they could provide an exceptional quality. Service staff was good. But they had only one English menu. We had trouble with the sun rays directly fall into the face and high voices of other customers as the space is limited. This is only my personal experience. My preference. Not a repeat customer.

So finally we went to this restaurant after hearing about it from so many of our friends! Great location on the river and comfortable atmosphere. However food was so so! We ordered burger and räkmacka. But we had better räkmacka. The burger was alright. So if you want to enjoy few hours with your friends, a great place. But don’t expect great food :)

Stopped by to try some local beers while passing through Umeå, and I was pleasantly surprised. They had a nice selection of local brews, offering a good variety to get a taste of the area’s craft beer scene. Great spot for beer enthusiasts looking to explore local flavors.

The food is not very tasty, it's ok but next time I'll put my money somewhere else. The Guinness definitely tests wrong, maybe they should clean the pipes. The service was ok I suppose. Considering. All in all it was not awful but I'm not coming back and wouldn't recommend either.

Very friendly staff, fun events such as quizzes and live music! The food is good, and they have options for vegans on the menu if you ask. I highly recommend!

One of the best bars in Umeå. They have wide variety of drinks and snacks. The place is very cosy, with nice lightning and chairs. There is this room where the walls are covered with wallpaper in the shape of bookshelves which adds a nice touch to the bar. On some weekends they have a music event where a band comes and performs of the little scene that they have. A great place to hang casually with friends, chat and have a drink.

Fairly decent selection of alcohol. Prices were high but that seems to be the case in Sweden anyways. Bartender wasn't very good at pouring drinks (had about an inch of foam at the top of my glass)

Magnificent complex of venues. I was there for Umefolk festival and enjoyed every single room and gig I've been at. Well run, good sound, friendly staff.

I was taking tango classes over there and it was the perfect place. The room was just great, and toiles and water available for everyone in each floor.

When in Umea - must visit mall ! With IKEA shopping center in the same mall - you could easily spend a day just shopping with great many choices to eat ! From Asian food to European and even other fast food options nearby … you won’t go hungry. Well maintained, neat and clean mall with ample parking lots all around is an added advantage and you can load your car with all the shopping you will do there …. For sure you won’t come out empty handed 😉

Great book shop, and it's good that you might even find something to eat there! Otherwise, it's like any other shopping centre — if you aren't into them, you want to get out of there as soon as you can!

One of the bigest malls in Umeå at the moment. Many different shops to visit, including Ikea and Normal. Many places to eat at, such as Zen, Brothers, Döner etc. Different activities that are happening around holydays. Egg hunt on easter or Santa visits at Christmas for example. Would recommend to visit if you drive by.

It's a shame this was built were there used to be such a nice nature spot. This place is huge though. Tons of stores and cafes and restaurants so you can buy and eat what you want. Basically only accessible by car or bus, unless you really know your way around town on a bike. Tends to really drain your energy when you visit here, because it's usually so crowded.
