Risø mat og kaffebar is a charming cafe located in the heart of Tromso, Norway. This cozy spot is renowned for its exceptional coffee and delightful light meals, making it the perfect place to enjoy a cup of expertly brewed craft coffee or indulge in a quick and tasty meal. The cafe offers a variety of coffee beverages and a menu featuring healthy and flavorful options with a local or Nordic twist.
Great place to grab a coffee which was top notch! Grabbed some food and chill when a mini snow storm hits! No concern we got the famous omelette and a few other items from the specials board, loved it and so did our baby! Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff.
Rob J — Google review
Incredible coffee taste and style. Furthermore the cinemon rolls are as good as you read it in your traveling guide. Also there is a gentle Service and Ambience. I spilled my Cappuccino on the floor and without any hustle I got help to clean it. Highly recommended to spent some time there 😁
A. Z — Google review
I really loved my omelette, it played so well with nuts and honey! Coffee was worthy as well. But the cinnamon roll was a bit dry. Coffee bar arranged so good, you can watch baristas prepare drinks. Also it’s possible to buy coffee beans, even Geisha was available
Марія Б — Google review
It’s such a cute café! If you want to eat in, you have to find a table first, then order and let the staff know where you’re sitting. I ordered a hot chocolate, which was so good delicious! My friend got a coffee and said it was really good too. There were lots of tempting desserts, but I was already quite full. It was pretty crowded the day we went, and there weren’t many seats available, so we had to wait for someone to leave.
JanieJay — Google review
I’ve already visited this café three times in a row, and each time it has been absolutely incredible! From the moment you walk in, the cozy and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel instantly at home. The coffee is phenomenal… rich, perfectly balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Every cup is a little masterpiece. The pastries and cakes are just as amazing, fresh, flavorful, and impossible to resist. The staff are genuinely friendly and make every visit feel special. Whether you’re stopping by for a quiet coffee, catching up with friends, or warming up from the cold, this place never disappoints. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best cafés I’ve ever been to, not just in Tromsø, but anywhere. I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you!
Isabelle K — Google review
Such a wonderful café in Tromsø! 🌟 If you’re visiting Northern Norway, this is the place to enjoy a real break and taste the famous, freshly baked cinnamon rolls that locals absolutely love. I’m actually here for the third day in a row – that should say everything! 😂 The coffee is exceptional – some of the best I’ve had not just in Tromsø, but in Lu whole life – and the baristas are truly amazing: professional, warm, and incredibly talented. They don’t just serve coffee; they create little works of art in your cup, sometimes personalizing the latte art based on your chat or even your appearance. It makes every visit unique and memorable. The cozy atmosphere, friendly team, delicious food, and high-quality coffee make this café a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. I highly recommend this beautiful spot in Tromsø for anyone looking to experience authentic flavors, friendly service, and the best cinnamon rolls in Norway. ❤️

Phenomenal coffee, I'd recommend the pour over! Large portions of food including sandwiches and pastries. Cozy, quiet and dog-friendly! A great place to spend your morning.

The latte art of being given a cinnamon roll is so cute I couldn’t help but do a review :) nice vibes and good coffee. The sourdough cinnamon bun was fluffy and not sweet

Kaffebønna Stortorget is a popular café in Tromsø, with multiple locations across the city. It's known for its specialty brews like V60 and delicious pastries. The café also offers organic and fresh products, including decent bread that attracts regular customers. With two equally charming locations, Kaffebønna provides a cozy atmosphere to enjoy coffee and mouth-watering sweets.
I went there with local friend, I took wrap that is called kylling, it was good, I liked atmosphere and interior design a lot. I think best for having your coffee and pastry place. And enjoying cozy stylish cafe.
Zulfiyya V — Google review
Great location in the city center with an amazing view from the seating area. Coffee is decent and the cakes are ok. Sandwiches are a little dry but that’s because they use rye bread which is not suited to everyone’s taste. If you get there early, do sit at the counters and you’ll have an amazing view while having your morning coffee.
Teck B — Google review
Excellent and big choice of coffee and teas. It is a cool and trendy place. Do not forget to taste the croissants and the pain au chocolate, they are marvelous. The only low point in my view is the somewhat hectic atmosphere. But it was the national celebration the as we had coffee there.
Claude F — Google review
Really nice and cozy place to have a delicious cappuccino and pastries. Really liked the vibe there, the team is very nice, and we even had 2 free cappuccinos on the top ! 🙌🏼 I totally recommend this place.
Warren S — Google review
The Asian girl that is on the counter has terrible attitude, looks like she is angry , we came twice and it was the same bad service, the 1st time we thought she was having a bad day but we came back and it was the same... moody girl. The chai latte is good the cinnamon roll was average, doesn't taste fresh. Very disappointed 😞
Paola R — Google review
Kaffebønna Stortorget is a fantastic spot with friendly staff who has superb English skills, making communication easy. The café offers a wide variety of pastries and drinks, along with coffee you can buy to take home. The place is always bustling, so finding a seat can be tricky—but that just shows how popular it is! The cozy atmosphere, combined with an amazing view from the café, makes it a great place to relax and unwind. The staff was always smiling, which adds to the warm and welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Good coffee and delicious cinnamon buns! Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.
Victoria H — Google review
We have been trying hard to find a coffee cafe that knows how to actually use an espresso machine. Kaffebønna’s staff/baristas have certainly been trained and not surprising as the owner worked in London before coming back to Tromsø. We have now found the best Flat Whites above the Arctic Circle. The cinnamon and cardamom buns were fresh, large and more importantly tasted pretty dammed fine. We sat outside in the sun, a not so often happening here. There is adequate seating inside for the not so nice days.

Smørtorget is a charming square located in the heart of Tromso, offering a cozy and warm atmosphere. The area is surrounded by quaint bakeries and galleries, making it an ideal spot to enjoy the aroma of fresh pastries while immersing yourself in local art and culture. It's also known as a great place for people-watching, where you can relax with a cup of coffee and observe the locals.
Since day one, this place caught my eye. It's located in a very nice corner. And once you are Inside, it just gets better. Super cozy. Has old fashioned furniture, and decoration . Feels like you are coming into great grandma's home . And food is very good. Great quality and flavor.

Quite a nice cafe in Tromso city. Can grab a quick lunch or early dinner here. Large bright seating area with an open view of the streets outside makes it quite nice to sit in. Good section of sandwiches and also baked items. Coffee is good and while it’s crowded the turnover is fast so no issues getting a table.
Teck B — Google review
Cutest little café with delicious snacks and large portions of coffee. Service is nice and there is free tap water. Cozy ambience.
Katherina F — Google review
Quirky local-feel café with a very welcoming attitude. Cosy and intimate seating (upholstered couches for example) is dispersed amongst Norwegian history artefacts. There are even two private side rooms if you want more privacy. The staff were welcoming and seemed please to see us - as they did with all customers whether they seemed local or not. There were several people (presumably local) catching up with work on laptops or sitting reading quietly suggesting it’s a good place to go because the locals do. The drinks were good. We only had bakery items to eat but they were delicious. ♿️ Access would be a bit difficult as the way in is a bit convoluted, and the space between table la etc very limited and felt obstructed. Having said that the staff seemed friendly and I’m sure they would offer to help. 🐕 The place declares itself as dog-friendly. ⏰ Don’t believe the times on the door. They didn’t seem to apply then day we were there. The door said they were closing at 1700 but they happily served well after that. Just don’t rely on that.
Peter W — Google review
Vintage vibes galore, Nordic grandma version (this is a compliment). Old furniture, atmospheric old-school house appliances and plenty of space to sit. There is wifi (if you ask) the (friendly) staff who is also very happy to advise you on drinks. Can't really speak to the quality of food, cos I only had tea (still too poor for eating out in Norway), but giving it 5 stars as a vote of confidence.
Marta K — Google review
Large yet cozy cafe. The space is divided well. The skolbrod was one of the better ones we’ve had. Fun decorations as well.
E L — Google review
Hot chocolate with cream, a brownie, and a salami sandwich were delicious. I highly recommend the apple cake. The establishment is popular, so it was quite busy when we visited on Saturday afternoon.
Jiri V — Google review
Large cozy cafe with really yummy sandwiches. Cool interior with a mix of many different styles. Besides the main large room there are also two smaller rooms with additional seating and a bit more quiet. There are also some outdoor tables. The Spanish toast sandwich is highly recommended. Tasty and flavorful and just the right size for lunch. The carrot soup (which was also very tasty) is vegan and can be accompanied by gluten free bread. Non milk options (oat) are available for the coffees.

Despite ongoing construction outside, the hospitality inside immediately puts visitors at ease. The menu includes breakfast options as well as fish soup and waffles with brown cheese for later meals. Absolutely loved this cozy little spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to start your day. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was impressively quick. You have to try the Norwegian waffles—fresh off the iron, light, crisp, and delicious. Paired with a hot drink, it’s the perfect breakfast experience. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved it (so much so that we went there three times in three days)! Firstly, they open at 8am, so perfect for a good breakfast (which we had twice). They start serving lunch menu at 1pm- and we tried that as well. Healthy, fresh made food, warm and welcoming service, and a very cosy ambience. What else does one want? Highly recommend going there for a memorable meal (great omelettes)! They have a lot of seating space- inside and a few tables outside as well. The ambience is that of a comfortable and welcoming home.
Megha J — Google review
Our family LOVED this dining spot. We were exhausted from a long day of travel, and the Fish Soup, Reindeer Stew and Stroganoff were just the comforting foods we needed to help us sleep well that night. We enjoyed our meal so much we might eat there again tomorrow!
Aimee E — Google review
Sweet ladies working there. Nice food ☺️ Went 2 days in a row. ♡ I tried omelet, pancakes and also a cake. Ohh and good coffee too. The food really is delicious. Nice and cozy place. And the most important thing is how welcome the staff makes you feel. It was truly warm to be there.

The sweetest ladies welcomed us inside! Cozy atmosphere with seating in the front and back of the restaurant. Phenomenal Norwegian waffles and even better fish soup with homemade bread & butter - YUM!! 10/10 recommend, you won't be disappointed.

Looked like a simple coffee shop from outside, but served amazing authentic Norwegian food. The reindeer stew was delicious (tastes like a richer lamb), and the waffles with brown cheese were a perfect, unique dessert. A wonderful surprise - highly recommend!

This is a good spot to grab a coffee/pastry to go or stay and enjoy. We got brunch one morning. Find a table and order/pay at the counter. Theyll bring your food out if you are staying. The decor is nice. I appreciated the effort in the bathroom. The food was really good. The waffles were done well. I liked the pirog. My parents also got the omelettes and enjoyed them. Service was great. Highly recommend.

Nestled in the heart of Tromsø, Helmersen Delikatesser is a delightful haven for food lovers seeking a taste of both Scandinavian and continental culinary traditions. This charming delicatessen showcases an impressive selection of high-quality cheeses from Norway, including local favorites like Kraftkar and Munkeby, alongside exquisite offerings from Italy, France, and Spain.
A place with very nice atmosphere with several ways of seating, booth or table setting are both available. The food was very delicious, great sauces on both the Halibut and Reindeer. Service was amicable and well informed on wine and food.

A warm cappuccino and even warmer service! We’re on a 17-day cruise through Norway, and Tromsø was today’s port of call. After walking extensively—including all the way across the Tromsø Bridge and back—my husband had a serious craving for a cappuccino. We tried two coffee shops before this one. The first had a 10-minute wait. The second told us they couldn’t make the cappuccino hot enough and offered to microwave it (no thanks!). Then we found **Helmersen**, right next door. A young man behind the counter confidently told my husband he could make it *extra hot*. He absolutely delivered—my husband was *so* happy. This place turned our afternoon around. Friendly service, a cozy atmosphere, and most importantly, a cappuccino made *just right*. Highly recommend if you’re in Tromsø and in need of a great coffee and even better attitude.

Amazing experience once again. We visited in 2023 on a cruise, and again just a few days ago. The breakfast was incredible, and all three of us could not stop raving about it. Great service, great food, great drinks. Only slight disappointment was that the granola mixture and jam is not available to buy to take home - missing a trick here, guys. Hope to see you again before too long.
David S — Google review
Nice ambience, Confusing menu items, a bit pricy. Truffle chips turned out to be potato chips & not fries. We had a bread basket with cream cheese but it had pork sausage which we didn’t imagined. A clear demarcation on the food items will be a good addition to the menu.
Siddhant S — Google review
Excellent wine bar with a menu, not large, but good. I had the roastbeef sandwich and it was tasty. Good and polite service. And if you love all thing Italian to eat, you can get almost everything in this place. An extra star for the cleanliness of the toilet! Very big handicap toilet, that was sooo clean.

Svermeri Kafé og Redesign is a charming café and restaurant located in one of Tromsø's oldest wooden houses. The cozy atmosphere and antique-filled interior create an infatuating ambiance. Visitors can enjoy a delightful meal with welcoming service, catering to English-speaking tourists. The menu offers delicious open sandwiches, fish soup, and delectable cakes such as the recommended chocolate brownie served hot with ice cream.
I was lured in by the cakes on a particular cold and wet day. Truly one of the best cakes I have tasted, the coconut cream, meringue cake base, prune jam and custard was just a symphony of texture and flavors that balanced out so well. My only regret is not going there more times and trying all their cake flavors. The servers were also very kind

A very cosy, vintage-style café specializing in home-baked cakes and soups. We arrived at around 10.30am, noted there was minimal crowd. Upon entering the shop, there was no clear guidance from staff on the seatings (we assumed it was free-seating). At the start, the service wasn’t particularly friendly, but it felt like they trusted their food to speak for itself. Seating is limited (about 5–6 tables if I can recall correctly of various sizes). Some plates were left uncleared, and I noticed customers occasionally moving them to find space (the plates were eventually cleared though, when the staff had the time ◡̈). At the counter, my family and I were greeted by a beautiful display of cakes. Though there was minimal English signage, a kind staff member took the time to explain the different options in English and offer recommendations after she noticed us struggling to decipher using Google translate what the labels meant. We tried the Islandkake, Marias suksessterte, and Limepai; all sooooo delicious. The Islandkake and Limepai were my ultimate favourites. These 2 cakes left such a lasting impression on me even after the trip. I miss it already! Overall, this place is a charming spot perfect for cake lovers who enjoy a cosy, nostalgic atmosphere. It was like visiting your fantasy grandma’s cottage. Also, the gluten free choices here were plentiful! Would recommend this cafe for the good food and unique experience!
Venus — Google review
We tried a fish soup and a carrot soup (I forgot to take a picture of them), both of which were spicy without any notice, which really covered up the rest of the flavors. After that we had a coffee and cake, which was fine, although a bit too sweet. Another negative point was the bathroom, where they had a shared towel to dry your hands, which I found unhygienic. Overall, not a place I would recommend.
Miguel W — Google review
I have three sons all called cubus so when I was eating those focaccia cubes with my sweet potato soup it made me think of them. This cafe has a wonderful atmosphere on a cold Tromso day. ( my only complaint I think one of the cubes would have been sufficient for 1/3 of one of my sons cubus )
Charlotte C — Google review
Wow, the islandskake might be the most delicious thing I have ever eaten in my life. Super creamy and sweet, I haven't stopped thinking about it!! This cafe in general is so warm and cosy, I loved the basement level with all the candles, and the service was absolutely lovely. Very expensive even for Tromsø, but the islandskake is so worth it!!
Jessica D — Google review
Coffee was delicious, the carrot cake was melt in the mouth and full of tasty spices and the heated up blueberry cake, excellent! All to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald, the perfect cure for a chilly day!
Sophie T — Google review
We needed to work and ordered a toast and drink. But the waiter wanted us to shutdown the laptop. On the table and door is a small sign that warns customers that laptops are not allowed. Cellphones are not a problem. Food is served without cutlery and napkins. You must pick it up yourself if you want them. Toast was a bit dry and served without sauce
Redactie W — Google review
Fantastic independent cafe, and the perfect spot to grab coffee and cake without having to fight for tables populated with laptops (a house rule is that they prioritise eating and drinking guests, and you can't stay with just a drink). We stopped by and sampled their coconut and vanilla cake which was a great balance of sweetness, and complemented a warming latte. Highly recommended!

Cafe Sånn is a quirky cafe located in the heart of Tromso, offering a casual and cozy atmosphere reminiscent of the set of Friends. Despite its coffee shop ambiance, it boasts 8 taps of beer and around a hundred different bottles, featuring local craft beers as well as selections from Europe and the United States.
Cute cafe with really cozy setup. Different types of tables, high tops, sofas, half booths. Ideal for any need, whether you're working, catching up with a friend or on a date. We stopped in around 10pm to get hot chocolate. She was about to close the machine, but made the chocolate for me, which was much needed to warm up! She was very sweet and the hotel chocolate was absolute perfection!!!

A very cozy place to enjoy a hot meal with great coffee. The stuff was very kind and nice to us. The food was good as well but the waiting time was a little big long.
Patricia R — Google review
We visited during the day for drinks— I had two glasses of wine and my partner two beers. The total came to around 90€, which felt rather expensive for just drinks. That said, beer lovers will appreciate the varied selection they offer, with beers from all around the world. Since we didn’t order any food, I can’t comment on that. The service was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. They even had board games available; we played Catan and Ticket to Ride. Although both games were missing some pieces, it didn’t really spoil the fun.
Juliana S — Google review
Really cool café where you can buy everything from a regular Coffe, tea, different types of coffe (caffe latte, americano, cappuccino, and so on) to a drink, or two. The bar is awesome and here you can find all your favorites drinks and even come across some you haven't tried yet. You may want to try some beer. If you are hungry for more than a cup of tea, you can find a variety of different pastry ; buns, waffels AND Norwegian vafler with sour cream and home made strawberry jam, crepes /pancakes, french croissantes, cake... You can see for yourself. It's a cozy place, and the decor on the walls are not only pictures. I love the snugg interiør, the squashy chairs, cool pieces of art, the handsome man who makes the coffe, the people who are regular customers and who sit there almost every day and then again in the evening. It's a nice place to go to on a friday or a saturday night, to meet new people, or old friends, to have a drink or a beer, or soda, to relax or just sit there for a while.

Located in the new district of Vervet, Vervet Bakeri is a trendy and popular bakery offering quality coffee, freshly baked bread, and delicious pastries. The cafe provides wonderful views of the strait and mountains, making it a charming spot to unwind and enjoy leisurely time. With an open kitchen where bread and pastries are made from scratch, guests can choose to savor their treats on-site or take them to go.
I was lucky enough to stay right above this wonderful bakery! I would return a million times over if I could. I swung by daily for a coffee, French bread and to try their pastries. I loved the chocolate croissant, and my husband loved the basic French bread. It’s anything but basic. Crispy outside and moist center. It’s perfect. The coffee was great too! I wish I could have tried the ratatouille but we kept missing it! I will say the conversation from the staff, including the guy who lives in Norway but was from Ohio in the states, made me feel very welcomed. Can’t wait to return. Absolutely the best bakery in all of Norway.

One of the more popular cafe in the city. Most of the seats in the cafe overlook the mountains and it’s really nice to sit there and enjoy the view while having your morning coffee. The pastries are decent and so is the coffee. Worth the short walk from the city to visit this cafe.

We got there by chance while walking around after visiting the Polar Museum and stopped to buy something to eat, but we ended up staying more than an hour, because of the great atmosphere. The staff is kind and helpful. There are many options of bakery sweet & salty. You can enjoy your food and drink while looking outside to the Tromsø icy mountains. Hot place, reasonable prices and perfect music.
Anna K — Google review
We found this bakery online and immediately fell in love with it. They offer a wide variety of products and the quality is truly excellent. The drinks are also good, with the option of refilling your water. Highly recommended if you are in the area and want to try some quality pastries.

Best pastries in Tromso !! Everything homemade on site in an open air kitchen. Great citrus cardamom bun. Enjoyed the vanilla chocolate twist. The skolebolle was the best thing I ate in all of Norway 🤤. Lots of seating, both at tables and at the bar facing the harbour and the mountains. Clean toilet. Highly recommend !!

Excellent bakery with light, crsip croissant, and soft, tasty cardamon twist. Great bread on the sandwiches with fresh, tasty fillings. Good coffee and hot chocolate too. Super nice staff who were helpful with translations and recommendations.

Great place with plenty of tables, good options for pastry and sandwiches (hummus and avocado!). Can sit with your laptop in some areas.

Simply a MUST when visiting Tromso, incredible patisserie’s, friendliest staff and a fantastic atmosphere! The best coffee we have had in our week here, we would recommend planning your timing so you get a seat. Finally, fantastic views of the harbour and hills.

Tromso Camping is a budget-friendly accommodation option located in the tranquil Tromsdalen neighborhood, just across from the city center and near the iconic Arctic Cathedral. The campsite offers charming cottages and cabins set amidst picturesque surroundings, with a popular river for fishing and access to hiking trails. It provides a convenient base for exploring Tromso's ski resorts and is within walking distance or a short drive to the city center.
I stayed in my tent for 2 nights. This cost 250 krona per night. The place is huge and full of campervans. The showers and toilets are some of the nicest I have seen in Norway. The kitchen was nice but a bit small for the number of people using it. The reception people were very efficient and helpful. And Tromso is a cool city 😎

Stayed for a couple of nights to visit Tromsø. Easily accessible from the site. A large well run site with excellent facilities. Nice reception, cafe area. Everyone spoke excellent English. Card for toilets/showers and to load money on for laundry. Park on tarmac, astro turf to the side. A very enjoyable stay, despite the rain.
Mark U — Google review
Great little cabins, you could also see the northern lights from the houses. We also had a little problem with the heating in the living room, but we could get a heater from the reception so it was fine. Breakfast was also good, different options available and also gluten free bread.
Pascal — Google review
I stayed at the Tromso Camping cabin for a night and my expierence was more than excellent. The staff here was very good and helpful. The cabins were good and the breakfast too was delicious. We even got to see the northern lights just above our cabin at quite a full blow. Overall, an excellent place and one of the few places in Norway i would love to stay again.

5-Star Review for Tromsø Lodge & Camping I had an incredible stay at Tromsø Lodge & Camping! Initially, I booked for just two nights, but the stunning location, cozy cabins, and excellent service made me extend my stay for another two nights. Nestled amidst breathtaking nature, this place offers the perfect balance between comfort and adventure. One of the highlights was their partnership with various activity providers, making it super convenient to arrange excursions. Whether it was a Northern Lights chase or a fjord tour, pickup and drop-off services were seamless. The staff was friendly and always ready to assist with recommendations. If you’re looking for a scenic and well-equipped place to stay in Tromsø, this is it! Highly recommend.
Shruti K — Google review
This is a well organised site, very modern and great service and staff. Pitches on tarmac with AstroTurf in-between, quite clinical, but clean. It's a busy site as there are no other choices so close to Tromso. You can walk to the city over the bridge. Showers are great, clean and plenty of hot water. The free sauna is an added bonus.

Lovely two night stay in a cozy cabin on our motorcycle trip through Finland, Norway and Sweden. Breathtaking scenery, friendly service and excellent breakfast.
Magnus K — Google review
Lovely warm & modern cabin which we stayed in, with good and clean communal facilities such as the kitchen. The campsite is a 10 minute walk to the bus stop with relatively frequent buses, and a 20 minute walk to the supermarket and Arctic Cathedral. A very good place to stay in Tromsø. Unfortunately the beds and pillow comfort let it down, but apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

The charming suites feature separate living rooms, dining tables for six people, parquet floors, and 42" flat screen TVs. Guests can enjoy views of the Tromso Mountains and the city while having access to free Wi-Fi and satellite TV. The hotel also offers an in-house restaurant serving buffet breakfast and dinner options.
Spacious hotel room with heated floor toilet tiles, a small sofa space and table, with great view of the mountain depending on your room floor. Convenient location that is walkable to the main city center pedestrian street, to various restaurants and attractions. Loved our stay here. Breakfast was also decent.

Just had an amazing stay here! The rooms were super clean and spacious, but the real highlight was the breakfast—so good! On top of that, I somehow managed to forget my bag, and the staff went above and beyond, organizing a taxi and making sure it got to the airport before my flight. Such kind and helpful service! Would definitely stay again.
Jana Z — Google review
The breakfast buffet was plentiful, and the dining staff made a real effort to keep everything well stocked. A point of criticism, however, is that we had trouble finding a place to sit because it was very crowded. The accommodation has definitely seen better days. Our shower had mold on the sides and broken tiles. But what we found most disappointing were the staff at the reception. They were not friendly at all – no welcoming smile, no warm greeting, no real interest in the guests, and no eye contact (they preferred looking at their phones). That‘s not what I call hospitality.
Fatih C — Google review
Really great place to stay, rooms are big and beds super comfortable. The breakfast is one of the best we have ever had in a hotel, amazing!

Quality Hotel Saga Tromsø: A Comfortable Stay in the Heart of the Arctic My recent stay at the Quality Hotel Saga Tromsø was a delightful experience. The hotel's prime location, just steps away from the bustling city center and the picturesque harbor, made it easy to explore all that Tromsø has to offer. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, providing a cozy retreat after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a delicious variety of both local and international dishes. Being a vegetarian, we have enjoyed the vegetarian options in breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. If you're looking for a comfortable and convenient base for your Tromsø adventure, I highly recommend the Quality Hotel Saga. It's the perfect place to relax and recharge before embarking on your Arctic explorations.

This stylish, centrally located cafe does a great job with coffee, as well as cakes and pastries. Prices are steep but worth it for the high quality of food. The setting is lovely and rustic with a modern feel, perfect for reading or chatting.
A nice place with good coffee and a nice atmosphere. We also tried their cinnamon bun and it was really delicious. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that the tables were not clean and many of them had stuff from previous customers. It was due to the lack of employees (they also have a sign that they are hiring new staff). Other than that it was nice.
Blazka R — Google review
Reasonable range of pastries and beverages, with a large back area for chilling. Pastries do not come heated, and all is self-collected. Scones are gargantuan but lack any condiments to go with it - to be fair it's pretty tasty on its own. Beans they use have a strong sour tang, giving a nice jolt to the system. Clean and sterile at the front, dark and cozy up the back. Pretty decent place to relax and chat, although toilets are limited.
Sam S — Google review
Great little cafe with excellent espresso. Will have to come back and try the food or the bread. Very busy at the time we went (1230pm on a Tuesday in Feb).

Flat white is good. Mocha gelato just 42 NOK for this portion. Pain au Chocolat could be better if more chocolate content. Cheerful and young staff is a plus.

Nice cafe with a bunch of seating (up the stairs). Good place to warm up and chat with friends. I only got to sample the pastries which were soft and tasty. They have a selection of pour over coffee so pick the beans that you want and enjoy. Espresso based drinks of course are also available.

Beautiful decorated coffee bar. The place is perfect for relaxing in a cold and windy day. They have tables for big groups. The coffee is really good and they also have some sweet biscuits and pastries. The service was really friendly! It is a good place to come back!
Mariona — Google review
This cafe (or rather Kaffe) is worth a stop for decent coffee & bite to eat. There were 2 gluten free options (chia seed breakfast pot and a tasty financier). Unfortunately, no substantial lunch items at the time. The service was swift, atmosphere warm and staff welcoming each time I visited. Prices are more or less on a par with London.

Risø Kaffebar is a modern yet cozy third-wave coffee shop known for its specialty pour-over coffee and hand-brewed varieties. The high-quality beans are brewed with precision, ensuring a perfect taste every time. Visitors rave about the delicious sourdough, which has a unique flavor profile with slightly less sourness and smaller air pockets intentionally crafted by the chef. The cafe also offers homemade kombucha and a welcoming atmosphere created by friendly staff.
Stopped in here for breakfast. The lattes were amazing. The sourdough bread is perfect - crispy crust and chewy interior. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere.
Cheryl K — Google review
First of all, the coffee here was amazing. The oat milk cappuccino was perfect. The goat cheese and spinach omelet with honey and walnuts took forever, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The bread on the side was delicious as well. The interior was very well designed and had a warm and inviting vibe. I absolutely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Tromsø!
Paul O — Google review
Stopped here for a morning coffee and although the coffee was good and the latte art very beautiful, service was much on the slow side. If you’re in a hurry, think twice about stopping here, but if you have plenty of time to spare it’s a good location to watch the surprising hustle and bustle of the streets outside, or the falling snow all in the comfort of a warm cafe, coffee or hot chocolate in hand.
Brian T — Google review
Very good coffee, food and service! I had a cappuccino and a cheese and ham sourdough toast and it was so good. Barista was kind and professional and I could see the new batch of sourdoughs at the back which made me appreciate the place more.
