Ancient Ruins
The Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings is a vast necropolis dating back to the 3rd century BCE. It boasts underground tombs that were meticulously carved out of rock. The site offers a glimpse into ancient burial practices and architectural ingenuity. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby attractions such as the Medieval Castle, waterfront restaurants, ice-cream shops, cafes, and bars with stunning views across the water and harbor.
Overall a very beautiful archaeological site. Please be careful as pavements and steps are very very uneven ( I should know: I ended up at the ER!). Wear comfortable shoes and pay extra attention. Beautiful beach too!
D. E — Google review
Went just after opening as it was lovely temperature. Easy walk from our hotel. Cheap entry fee & bought a guide book. Bought tickets there. Such a wonderful historic place to walk. Best to wear good footwear as large stones, steep steps. Spent a good morning here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ When Dead Kings Flex Harder Than Your Holiday Villa Right, so you come here expecting some dusty old tombs carved into rock (which, fair enough, they are), but what you actually get is nature absolutely showing off whilst ancient history does its thing in the background. The archaeological site itself is properly impressive—massive underground chambers, intricate columns, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes you wonder how they managed without power tools and a decent coffee break. 🏛️ But here's the plot twist: the landscape steals the entire show. The way the golden stone contrasts with that ridiculously blue Mediterranean sky? Chef's kiss. The wild herbs growing between ancient stones? Pure poetry. You'll find yourself spending more time staring at the horizon than reading the information plaques (guilty 🙋). Top tips: Come early morning or late afternoon for the best light and fewer crowds. Wear proper shoes—it's rocky and uneven. Bring water and a hat because shade is scarce. And for the love of Zeus, don't rush through it. This place deserves at least an hour of your time, preferably two if you fancy some contemplative sitting on 2,300-year-old steps. 📷 Absolutely worth every cent of the entrance fee. Ancient royalty knew how to pick a view. 👑
Tom D — Google review
It's okay. We got some nice pictures. I quite like history/culture, but we walked all the way there and then walked around the huge site, so we were knackered before even starting. We didn't see the bus that takes you there until we'd explored the area a bit more, so I'd recommend looking for the tomb of kings bus if you don't have a transfer or bringing a card for a taxi, if you're not staying nearby. As others have said, they're not tombs of kings: they're tombs of officials, which was a bit disappointing to be honest. There are plaques dotted around to look at, and the map is perfectly readable (despite what others have said). However, you do have to buy the booklet for it. I think for the two of us the tickets and booklet came to about 10 euro. There's an early exit facing towards to beach, but I'm not entirely sure where it leads since we didn't take it. Final warning for the ladies - don't make the mistake of wearing flats and a long dress, if you visit. The area has lots of small rocks and stairs in and out of the tombs.
Jo — Google review
Very spaced out and hot, but beautiful ruins if you're into seeing them. The underground pillars, as I have photographed , were so beautiful. Not overly crowded with people, especially since it's spacious with a lot to see
Kyle F — Google review
A great spot for people into Roman and Hellenistic history and that are also interested in archaeology. They have information plots all around the grounds. Bring water and a hat as the grounds are huge. Heaps of onsite parking, clean toilets available, 2,50€ entry fee pp.
Melesande C — Google review
Impressive archaeological site showcasing ancient tombs carved into rock. A must-visit for history lovers! The area is vast, so wear comfortable shoes. Highly recommend downloading an audio tour guide to better understand the history and significance of the site.
Parul A — Google review
Very nice place, well worth the visit and the entrance fee is extremely reasonable. Would suggest to go early morning or late afternoon as it gets very hot.

Castle
Paphos Castle, originally a Byzantine fort, has a rich history of destruction and reconstruction. Over the years, it has served as a prison and warehouse for salt. The castle stands at the edge of Paphos harbor and is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. It hosts various events throughout the year, including operas during the Paphos Aphrodite Festival.
Paphos Castle is a small but interesting historic site right by the harbor. It doesn’t take long to visit, but the views from the top are beautiful, especially at sunset. Worth a quick stop while walking along the promenade.
Yara B — Google review
Being so closed to the Archeological site, it’s a must. 2,5 euros per person to go in. Some steps, no lift available, not wheelchair friendly. You’ll spend maybe 10 minutes here, just to admire the views (not a lot to see besides that). It’s still worth it for the views. There’s an excellent ice cream shop nearby.
André M — Google review
Nice little place to visit on the harbour. Entrance fee was a few euros each and kids were free. Good vantage point across Paphos. One of the many treasures to explore here
David F — Google review
I'm afraid I have to disagree about this castle. Aside from the architecture itself, there was really nothing inside. And access is restricted to the platform only, with no possibility of visiting the tower. Considering the entrance fee is the same as for other castles in Cyprus (2.5 euros), I believe more could be done to enhance the visitor experience. Perhaps by adding historical displays or providing more information about Paphos and the castle’s significance.
NANA D — Google review
Restricted access and took us less than 2 minutes to walk up the stairs and around the top. €2.50 each Views were stunning. We went up for the sunset BUT they kick you out at 4:30pm (20 minutes before prime sunset time) Probably not worth the money but go once and then you’ve seen it!
Sophie L — Google review
Walked around the area and captured some beautiful pics and waited for the sunset. Pafos (Paphos) Castle (Medieval Fort) was originally a Byzantine fort built to protect the harbour, and was rebuilt by the Lusignans in the 13th century. The girl statue in this area depicted is the "Sol Alter" by Cypriot artist Yiota Ioannidou, located in Paphos, Cyprus. It represents Aphrodite, the goddess of love
Arch S — Google review
A little overrated - there are better to see in Cyprus. Whilst the architecture itself is interesting, there isn't really much to see inside. The entrance fee (2.5 euros) is a bit steep for what is a 10-minute visit at best.
Norm P — Google review
You only need around 30 minutes to view the two floors of Paphos castle. There's not much to see inside except the history of the castle at the entrance, but you do get nice views of the Paphos harbour. Entrance fee is 2.50 euros.

Agia Solomoni Catacomb, also known as the Catacombs of Saint Solomonia or Hagia Solomonia, is a significant site for Christian believers in Cyprus and a popular tourist destination. This large cave Christian temple was initially used as catacombs for stone extraction before being repurposed as a burial site and later transformed into a Christian Orthodox Church in the 9th century.
Some small underground chapel. Free entry, nobody inside, I was absolutely alone. Calm and peaceful place. Some prohibited downstairs route more deep underground present.
Oleksii D — Google review
Free to visit. Only takes a few minutes - allowing 10-15 minutes is sufficient. Some Christian iconography and memorobelia around. Unique experience going underground. Very close to a bus stop so no need to walk far. Less able bodied members of the group managed the stairs down okay.
Natalie M — Google review
A small cave church by the main road dedicated to Saint Solomoni. When you enter by the tree you will see few caves there. Two of them for some reason are locked but the other two are not. One of them is where the icon of Saint Solomoni is. The underground complex of catacombs is from the Hellenistic period. The other important thing there is the tree which the roots are inside the walls of the caves and people hang items there for luck. Is a shame that are is not any information on the site. Free to enter.
Angie O — Google review
Interesting worth the visit, free to get in. Bus stops outside.
Joy H — Google review
It's a free to enter place, unfortunately because it's a free entrance there are grafitti on the walls. There are some rooms and tunnels to explore but it's nothing too great. Better read about it beforehand as we didn't see any info about the place on the spot. If you are there already you can go in for 15 minutes
Arthur K — Google review
There is a tree growing out of the wall at the entrance and people tie a piece of something on branches of it if you would like to do so bring something with you. It was such an experience visiting this catacomb I wish I could share my 3min video here
A. — Google review
These catacombs are free and quite remarkable. They are however open 24hs and sadly some people dumps rubbish inside. Still pass by if in the area. It'd take less than 10 minutes to see them.
Laura F — Google review
Well worth a visit and no charge. Caves right in the middle of Paphos. Really don't know why the local council hasn't made more of this natural and historical attraction.

Nestled on a small rock near the picturesque Kato Paphos harbor, the Church of Panagia Theoskepasti is a stunning example of Byzantine architecture with roots tracing back to the 10th century. Originally built during Cyprus's time under the Byzantine Empire, this sacred site was reconstructed in 1923 and stands as both a historical landmark and an active spiritual hub.
Nice to see from the outside. It's an old church located in the city center of Paphos. You can go outside in certain hours. It's located on a stone
Mateusz G — Google review
Seemed nice on the outside and the location definitely adds interest to it but, although I stayed in the area and passed by multiple times every day, never actually saw it open. There are several good eateries nearby.
Olivera L — Google review
I wonder if the priest is paid full time for keeping this public monument closed most of the times, like it's his own building
Adi S — Google review
We stumbled upon this church on our last night on a previous holiday, yet to go and see in daytime
Mary G — Google review
An old Byzantine church with traditional architecture of the times.
Teague C — Google review
An amazing array of archeological finds over a considerable area, ranging from prehistoric times to the middle ages. The most impressive are the four Roman villas. One has yet to be properly investigated and there are doubtless many more discoveries to be made. However the mosaic floors are stunning and well worth the visit. Be aware that there is little respite from the sun, so take a sun hat and plenty of water.
David H — Google review
This old church is literally named "covered by God" as it was built on a cliff and was clearly visible to pirate raiders from afar. However, when the pirates got closer to the shore, thick mist covered the entire area essentially hiding the church, making it impossible to locate. A great sight to visit and very close to the coastal walkway. Open during the day, free for anyone to visit.
Petros D — Google review
Looks good although it's thousand years old. We came Sunday morning and heard some of the service. Although I advice to visit another day. Less people inside and you'll be able to watch it through

Nestled in the charming village of Geroskipou, just a short distance from Paphos, the Byzantine Church of Agia Paraskevi stands as a remarkable testament to 9th-century architecture. This five-domed basilica is one of only two such structures on the island and showcases stunning interior wall paintings that span several centuries, from the 8th to the 15th century.
Beautiful old church with a real history. No photos or video are allowed inside. The outside is impressive enough but the inside is a while other level. Iconography all over. Clear to see the development of the church. See if you can find the Templar Cross.

A serene and beautifully preserved 11th-century Byzantine church just outside Paphos. Its five domes, stone arches, and tranquil courtyard make it one of the island’s most atmospheric historic sites. Peaceful, authentic, and rarely crowded – a perfect short stop for anyone exploring Cyprus’s spiritual heritage.
G W — Google review
Historic church, beautiful architecture and serene ambiance. It offers a glimpse into the spiritual heritage of the area. The intricate details and peaceful surroundings make it a nice spot for quiet reflection.
Highway V — Google review
Very small church, which appears to be from pre-historic times but it is only a few hundred years old. There are plenty of churches in Europe that are older and a lot more beautiful. Not worth making a special trip to visit.
Aloke R — Google review
Very interesting church. It is clearly built on an older Byzantine church. You can see the capitals of older columns reaching your knees (on one of my photos). I couldn't go inside and take photos because there was a mass going on 😅 but it was also an interesting thing for my ears! Very unique place 😊
George S — Google review
Lovely small church in a lovely small village, right by Paphos. It is worth the detour, especially on a rainy day. The church sits in a recently renovated public plaza, flaked by public buildings and the commercial center for the locality. One can see the care with which the urban design embraces and highlights the temple. For the icon lovers, the panels inside are beautifully crafted with gold and powerful colors. The wall frescoes are damaged, but reveal the history of the island. They are apt at conveying a powerful narrative about the tribulations of the island with the scenes from the passion of Christ and other saints.

The Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos is a sprawling area filled with ancient ruins, including tombs, villas, and a fortress. The site also boasts well-preserved Roman mosaics depicting ancient mythology. Visitors can explore the Medieval Castle and enjoy stunning views of the water and harbor. The area is bustling with waterfront restaurants, shops, and yachts, creating a vibrant atmosphere that blends seamlessly with its rich historical significance.
Wonderful place. Be sure to apply sunscreen before coming and bring a hat and maybe a portable fan. It can get very hot, even in the early morning. Every mosaic has a short explanation in English and some even in braille. The mosaics seem to be very well kept. I would advise to read a little about the place before coming (Lonely Planet’s guide for exemple has some useful information), so that you already know a little about the place before coming. There are no audio guides but at the entrance there’s a QR code to download an app. Also, toilets by the entrance machine, that were clean. Also, some vending machines available and a fresh bottle of water is only 50 cents. The entrance fee for each adult is 4,5 euros. Highly recommended, and very close to the main hotels and resorts. We came on foot but there’s a big free parking lot nearby, with some shade.
André M — Google review
A must-go! Very well-kept site with amazing mosaics, very reasonable ticket price, clean toiletries, vending machines and adjacent bus stop. All very convenient even in a scorching hot day. Partially accessible for wheelchair users
D. E — Google review
If you just want to look at a mosaic and push off, allow an hour. If you are actually interested in history and will read the information available allow at least 3 hours. We were there for 2.5 and only left because we were hungry but didn't get around it all. Probably boring for little kids. A well presented piece of history
Jeremy S — Google review
Beautiful setting with a stunning view of Aphrodite’s Rock. There’s parking nearby and a small tunnel that leads to the beach. One gift shop at the entrance for souvenirs. Showers are available, though a bit tricky to figure out. A short hike up to the rock offers an even better panoramic view — totally worth it!
Parul A — Google review
A beautiful site with beautiful scenery. The mosaics are quite breathtaking. Parking is just across the road and is free. To get in to the site it is €4.50 but it is worth it. We took in some snacks and water/soft drink but we were very mindful of where we were. There is the odd bin in some areas for any rubbish. A very clean and tidy area and I would definitely suggest going for a visit 😁
Juliet T — Google review
If you like history and Roman things this is for you. Fairly cheap at €4:50 per person for a UNESCO site. The site was huge! We didn't get all the way round so another visit in the future may be an option. Well worth visiting.
Mathew T — Google review
Not checking the opening times before we visited, we accidentally arrived just as they were closing. However the security team were very kind and still allowed us to see the theatre for 10 minutes and didn't charge us. It was a rushed visit but we thoroughly enjoyed stopping by nonetheless. A well looked after archeology site and fantastic view of the coast.

Must see in Cyprus! I suggest to visit in the late afternoon, so it is not so hot&sunny, plus - all pictures are much better is so „golden hour”, when the sun is going down👌 Very good prepared, with nice app - so you can listen to audio guide at every point. Paphos Mosaics are ancient Roman structures in Cyprus, showcasing well-preserved mosaics depicting mythological scenes. The mosaics date back to the Hellenistic period and are considered among the finest in the world. The site includes mosaics from various periods, including the Hellenistic and Byzantine eras. Additionally, Paphos Castle, a Byzantine fort, offers a glimpse into history and hosts events like the Paphos Aphrodite Festival.
Pafos Archaeological Park, located in Paphos, Cyprus, is one of the island’s most significant historical sites. It showcases ruins from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages, with a strong emphasis on the Roman period. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its well-preserved mosaics, ancient villas, and other historical structures. Highly recommend it when in Cyprus. We went in early March and temperature was 70F with blue sky and a gentle breeze. There were only a few visitors. You can also walk along Pafos Coastal Walkway, a scenic promenade along the coastline. It stretches from the Paphos Harbour area and extends past numerous historical sites, beaches, and natural landscapes, making it a popular route with a beautiful Mediterranean coastline.

The most beautiful Mosaics I've seen, on par with the ones in Madaba, Jordan. The colors are and composition are beautiful and stir the soul just like a work of art should. Don't miss this beautiful Paphos attraction inside the archeological park by the Harbor.

A truly heart lifting experience to see mosaics that are over 2000 years old. I wish I could get them to tile my bathroom if it lasts that long.
Kevin T — Google review
🎨 Prepare to be absolutely mesmerized by these extraordinary ancient mosaics! The level of craftsmanship and artistic detail is simply breathtaking - it's mind-boggling to think these were created thousands of years ago. The restoration work is impeccable, allowing us to see these masterpieces almost as vividly as their original viewers did. Each mosaic tells its own fascinating story, from mythological scenes to daily life depictions, with incredible attention to detail in every tiny tessera. The geometric patterns are mathematically precise, and the figurative scenes show amazing dimension and movement. The preservation efforts are outstanding, protecting these treasures for future generations. This is ancient art at its absolute finest - a must-see attraction that truly transports you back in time! Pro tip: Take a guided tour to fully appreciate the symbolism and historical context. You'll be amazed at how the colors have maintained their vibrancy after all these centuries! ✨🏺

Nestled in a beautifully illuminated square, it offers visitors an enchanting atmosphere, especially at night when its features are dramatically highlighted. The surrounding park enhances the experience with well-maintained greenery and inviting taverns nearby, making it a perfect spot for families and travelers alike.

Unfortunately we found that there is a lack of action on the part of the local public authorities.a lot of mess, it doesn't mature, the bins are full, weeds in the area of the trees, I've never seen so much laziness right in front of some restaurants, I've seen weeds near the trees but the owner/employee doesn't bother to remove them at all. I didn't see any sweepers even in the Harbor area. Along the entire length of the esplanade, a very dangerous area, there is no railing, any time an adult tourist, local, or child can fall directly onto the nearby stones, or even into the water. benches at local public transport stations, rusty and vandalized, signs with the station identifier are not visible due to graffiti. A total lack of involvement of local authorities.

Don’t expect a typical Mediterranean Old Town of Kouklia and it won’t disappoint. Whilst there are many charming elements, it didn’t leave any special impression overall.

As a visitor I feel that the municipality makes a number of collective errors. There is an opportunity to improve Paphos area for residents and visitors. It is clear that nothing is maintained. If new gardens and boardwalks are installed, give ten years or less they fell into disrepair. Eg: boardwalk around the ottoman baths. Everywhere you look there are carelessly discarded bottles, cans, packets etc. The area has a problem with maintaining a healthy cat population. There is little or no control, and this leads to unnecessary death of cats. Population should be controlled for their own health and wellbeing. There is great opportunity to tax seemingly wealthy hotel owners for the benefit of the town as a whole. The hotel gardens and grounds may be clean and clear but ironically the managers and staff neglect the street directly outside their hotel. As guests and visitors we aren’t stupid. It’s an absolutely missed opportunity to improve the area for the better. The hotel companies receive adequate funds and as they are not philanthropic, they should be made to pay their fair share. I sadly won’t revisit Pafos, perhaps not return for another 27 years. Such a great opportunity for improvement utterly missed by a lack of government and the business coordination and cohesion.

We were excited to get married at the Paphos Townhall, as we’ve lived here for many years. Only to be disappointed by the approach and rudeness of the 2 female officiants who work there. Since the moment we entered their office there was no friendliness rather than a feeling as that we were bothering them with our presence. Firstly they asked us to sit and since there is no door we could hear how snappy and rude was their behavior towards the couple who was there, not letting them speak but speaking over them. We thought to ourselves that hopefully this is just a misunderstanding. We were proven wrong. We entered their office and sat down with our baby daughter and started providing the documents. No smile, no small talk, just straight faces looking miserable. We’ve been told that the documents they asked us to provide weren’t correct. When we tried explaining it’s what they had asked for, they did not want to listen and we ended up being yelled at & told to go get married elsewhere. (After one week of waiting they confirmed that our documents were correct but no apology was given for the way they spoke to us). When you decide to get married is a decision based on love, to have someone so entitled and rude work in such a department is a disgrace the city. We have also complained to their supervisor, who wasn’t surprised about our complaint of their behaviors at all… meaning he’s aware, however no action has been taken, to our understanding. Don’t let them treat you this way and do ask for the name of the supervisor in case they treat you poorly. (He was very apologetic and tried to sort our situation). Finally we got married there by one of the same officiants (despite our request for someone else) who even during the ceremony seemingly had a moody approach. Not something you wish for on your wedding day.

If I could give this no stars, I would! Worst experience ever. Me and my husband went to Paphos Town Hall to apply for a civil marriage. The woman there was so rude, unprofessional, and obviously hated her job and was so moody. She was very sassy with us, her voice heavy with irony and after we brought all the documents that they asked us from the list they gave us she said she wanted more things that we obviously didn't have with us ad we didn't know! She said that was not her problem and to come back once we have everything, and then pointed at the door for us to leave! I've never been treated like this in my life and this woman (black hair) should not be working there, so rude and unprofessional. I feel sorry for anyone that works with her and has to face her to apply for a civil marriage. Needless to say that we called a different Town Hall in Paphos and they were so kind and helpful and we got married there. Avoid this lady like the plague! Such a pity because I am sure that some nice people are working there but due to this woman and how she treated us, I'm giving this 1 star!

(Translated by Google) Everything was done very nicely, well done! Just a year ago there was only one chapel; workers built it all last summer. It is very interesting what history is connected with this place. The chapel, if I'm not mistaken, is named after St. George the Victorious, his icons are everywhere in the main place. The nearby 5th school, where my daughter goes, is named after him. Every day I see several students running to this chapel after school :) There are always people lighting candles and bringing lots of icons, a very beautiful and peaceful place, with a beautiful view of the sea from the Moutallos area in Paphos. The Holy Monastery of Saint Neophytos the Recluse is a notable complex of historic monastery and church with significant frescoes, icons, manuscripts and relics. The hermitage is a must-visit place despite its tiny exit door. The museum was closed during our visit, and photography is not allowed inside the church or hermitage. However, the building's architecture is impressive as it's carved into rock formation that adds to its mystery.
Nestled in the picturesque hills north of Paphos, the Holy Monastery of Saint Neophytos is a remarkable spiritual and historical treasure. Founded in the 12th century by the hermit Saint Neophytos, the monastery offers a profound sense of authenticity and tranquility. The monastery complex is a fascinating blend of natural and man-made structures. The most captivating part is the "Enkleistra" (the enclosure), a series of caves that Saint Neophytos himself carved into the rock face. These include his original cell, a chapel dedicated to the Holy Cross, and a refectory. The walls of these ancient caves are adorned with stunning Byzantine frescoes, some of which were painted by Saint Neophytos' own hand, providing a rare and intimate glimpse into his devout life. Beyond the rock-carved hermit cells, a newer, larger monastery church and a museum display precious religious artifacts, manuscripts, and icons, enriching the visitor's understanding of the site's rich Christian history. The atmosphere here is one of peaceful reverence, a world away from the bustling tourist areas of the coast. Visitors are encouraged to dress modestly, respecting the sanctity of this holy place. The lush surroundings and panoramic views of the Paphos countryside add to the serene and inspiring experience, making it a truly unforgettable stop for anyone seeking to connect with the deep-rooted spiritual heritage of Cyprus.

Very picturesque. The church is divine but check for sitting monks. I never spotted one in the gloom and when I turned the lights on, I don't think he was very happy at all. One or two cats walking around which are very friendly if not a bit vocal. The citrus fruit growing on the trees have to be seen to be believed. Lots to explore with a museum and souvenir shop as well. Very serene. Loved it, apart from Rasputin babbling on to me in a language that was Greek to me!!!!🤣🤣

From our hotel we walked a mile to the bus station and caught the 618 to Paphos old town bus station then the 604 for a 25 minute bus ride up the mountain north of Paphos. On arrival we walked around the grounds and went into the museum, then into the monastery, walking towards the high cliffs we discovered the original 1159 rock hewn cell of Neafytos with amazing ceiling frescos. The pictures taken inside the cell and the monastery are from an official source as cameras are banned, however all other pictures are my own. The cost for entry to the cell and the museum was €2.50 each area per person, this amounts to amazing value to see some of the most stunning items I have ever seen
Russell J — Google review

Danny H — Google review
Relatively disabled friendly. Beautiful and peaceful. Very welcoming. From the point of view of a wheelchair user, it is fairly good. The toilets (located by the car park) were fairly wheelchair friendly with grab rails and a ramp leading to them. My wheelchair (which is 64cm wide) was just about able to get through; look at photos. When we got out of the car, and went to ascend the hill in my wheelchair, a staff member told us that we could drive our car up the hill round the BACK of the monastery, (saving us from having to do the climb with the wheelchair). This made it easier for me. So, if you go and have mobility issues, ask if you could go around the back entrance. There is no access to the courtyard area if you are a wheelchair user, but you have access to all other areas, and you can still enjoy the space. One thing I would say is wear something that covers your shoulders out of respect.

Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa is a historical site in Paphos, Cyprus, featuring the ruins of a 13th-century church known for its colorful mosaic floor. The site was once home to one of Pafos' largest religious structures, with the remaining foundations showcasing the size and grandeur of the original church.
A fantastic and very understated location, we found it just walking past. Successive early Christian churches have been built on the same site, with mosaics and columns surviving from the original ones, and a very pretty small church still active. The boardwalk around it was closed but you can still get around the sides of the site and see it clearly.

Leonard S — Google review
Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa is one of the most beautiful and historically significant churches in Paphos, built amid the ruins of an early Christian basilica dating back to the 4th century AD. The present church, constructed in the 16th century, stands gracefully above the ancient remains, blending Byzantine, Gothic, and later architectural elements into a serene and atmospheric setting. What makes this site truly special is the Apostle Paul’s Pillar, located just outside the church. According to tradition, Saint Paul was flogged at this very pillar when he came to Paphos to spread Christianity — a deeply symbolic reminder of the city’s early Christian heritage. Visitors can stroll along wooden walkways above the extensive archaeological remains of the original basilica, admire well-preserved mosaic floors, and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the modern church, which still serves the local congregation today.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, the Panagia Chryseleousa is a stunning traditional stone-built church that dates back to the 15th century. This charming structure showcases remarkable architecture and offers visitors breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. However, it’s unfortunate that some alterations have been made by locals to expand its size, which has affected parts of this historical gem. Despite this, the beauty and serenity of Panagia Chryseleousa continue to captivate those who visit.
Beautiful place, amazing view

Nestled in the heart of a picturesque wine-producing village, Panagia Faneromeni is a delightful destination that beautifully showcases local culture and scenic landscapes. This charming spot is perfect for those who appreciate winemaking and Cypriot traditions. As you stroll through the area, you'll come across this quaint chapel, which may not be grand in size but exudes an undeniable charm.
I recently had the opportunity to visit this small chapel, and while it was not particularly impressive in terms of size or grandeur, it had a certain charm and beauty that made it worth visiting. One of the standout features of the chapel was the lit candles scattered throughout the space. The flickering light added a sense of warmth and tranquility to the chapel, and it was a peaceful and calming place to spend some time. In addition to the candles, the chapel was adorned with a number of beautiful icons. These images of religious figures and scenes were tastefully displayed and added to the overall beauty of the chapel. Overall, while this chapel may not be the most impressive or grandiose place of worship, it has a certain charm and beauty that makes it worth visiting. If you're looking for a peaceful and calming place to spend some time, this chapel is definitely worth considering.

(Translated by Google) Small religious architecture that you can visit while walking around the area. A nice, charming place as an addition to sightseeing. It does not require any tickets or reservations because it is rather left to itself. There are a lot of paintings inside considering the size of the chapel.
