Historical landmark
Mine
Country Boy Mine, located just a short drive away, offers an immersive experience into the local gold rush history. Visitors can enjoy panning for gold and take a guided tour to learn about mining techniques and the lives of miners. It's a perfect spot for history enthusiasts interested in the rich heritage of gold mining.
This was a fantastic activity for our family which included grandparents, parents, and kids aged 10, 7, 3, and our infant we carried around. The kids panned for gold in the water and then we also did a scavenger hunt which was really well done. Katie was our guide and she was great! We bought tickets about 30 minutes before we went for both the gold panning and the scavenger hunt. We did an hour for the gold panning and then did the scavenger hunt, which took us 50 minutes. Highly recommend for a family friendly activity in Breckenridge!
Laurissa B — Google review
Great experience at Country Boy Mine! The staff was friendly and our tour guide Micheal was very informative and funny. He involved the kids and answered any questions we had. After the tour we spent 2 hours panning for gold and then slid down a giant slide to the parking lot! Definitely need to purchase your tickets in advance.
Lacy F — Google review
Country Boy mines was a fun stop on our trip. We took the mine tour, looked around the grounds and panned for gold. The tour didn't take too long but was informative and interesting. Panning for gold was fun at the stream they have there. Everyone was really nice and would recommend to all.
Melissa L — Google review
My husband and I had so much fun on this tour! We ended up being the only two people to tour with Michael, who was super engaging and informative. We had a blast chatting with him & really loved our experience! We briefly panned for gold and didn’t really find any, but found some beautiful little gemstones instead (which is a win in my book). Would definitely recommend!
B G — Google review
Fantastic experience! Our guide Michael was engaging, entertaining, and very knowledgeable about every aspect of the gold mine. Panning for gold after the tour checks a bucket list item for me. Less than 5 minute drive from Main Street breckenridge, well worth the cost. Highly recommended!
Keith D — Google review
We had a blast! Our tour guide Michael was funny and charismatic which made the learning easier haha! The front desk staff was very polite!
Brianna S — Google review
It was a 10/10 the guy how have us the tour really friendly and dedicated to his job, made the tour understandable and catchy, also take pictures for us. We pay 34$ for the tour and digging for gold, they explain how dig for gold and we could stay as long as we desired
Mariana Z — Google review
Family of 4 adults and two children 6, 8. Enjoyed the mine tour, very interesting and adventurous for kids. Bring a sweater, otherwise they have extra jackets for the walk through mine cave. Guide was very knowledgable and answered everyones questions. Truly an eye opener for the history of our country. Can go gold panning after tour. Cold water though, rent some boots! Also have an escape room type of treasure hunt, which was great! Taught me how to read a compass! Much harder than you think. Great for kids n adults. We we be back for a third time next year!

Carter Park and Pavilion in Breckenridge is a versatile outdoor space offering various activities for visitors of all ages. The park features sports courts, ball fields, an off-leash dog area, and a heated picnic shelter. In addition to these amenities, the park also provides access to family-friendly hikes and transforms into a popular sledding hill during winter. The pavilion serves as a hub for community events and private gatherings, making it suitable for diverse occasions.
We had an amazing time here! It was so much fun for the whole family, the best part is that it is free! The views were so beautiful as well. Just note: The sled shed was empty when we got there but I found out that people leave their sheds out there near the hill instead of returning them. So don’t get discouraged if this happens, just go searching and you will find a sled or you can bring your own. I will say that it can be slippery when walking to the top of the hill so be careful. Have fun!!
TIKIA81 — Google review
We visited this dog park multiple times during our stay in Breckenridge and loved it! It's a clean, well-maintained space with plenty of room for dogs to run and play freely. Our pup had a blast making new friends, and we enjoyed chatting with many friendly fellow dog parents. A great spot for both dogs and their humans!
Anchal B — Google review
What an experience! We took an Uber (the town shuttle can drop you off too) right to the entrance and the kids had so much fun! There were plenty of sleds available for adults and kids. There are bathrooms and a water station available too.
Bindi B — Google review
Free sledding/tabogganing with courtesy sleds provided, fenced dog exercise areas and an awesome spot from which to watch a Breckenridge sunset.
Richard N — Google review
This is a quiet and serene park in the middle of a crowded neighborhood. Parking is limited and fills up fast and people start pouring in with their sleds. There's a dog park here as well. We went to check this place out at 7:30 am and it was empty. The ride is bumpy as the hill is raw and unprepared. I fell off my saucer-sled and hurt my back and neck. A normal long sled was good. Overall, this is a fun park to slide and play in the snow. Relish it!!
Shashidhar G — Google review
This was such a great day. Gorgeous views. Sleds are available to borrow. It wasn't a hard trip to the top with 2 toddlers. Bathrooms were available and heated. The only thing I would suggest is that apparently there needs to be better signage that when you reach the bottom, please exit the hill and make way for others that are waiting to sled down. I witnessed several times when folks were done they would turn and head right back up or just stand there. Suppose I could wear a helmet next time.
Melissha G — Google review
This is such a great hidden gem in Breckenridge! And FREE! We were there early in the season, but the kids had a great time sledding with the little snow there was. They even have a "sled borrowing shed" where you can borrow a sled to have some fun. Bonus: if you have a dog. There is a dog park right next door.
Cruising C — Google review
It’s the perfect place for kids — there’s so much for them to do, and the sledding hill was a big hit. The best part is that it’s completely free, which makes it even better for families looking for fun without spending a lot.

Located in downtown Breckenridge, the High Line Railroad Park is a heritage park that offers a glimpse into Colorado's mining history. It features a narrow-gauge train engine, a restored snowplow, flatcar exhibit, replica of a C&S caboose, and a boxcar diorama. This area was once home to the highest narrow gauge railroad in the US connecting Denver to Leadville.
This is a fun little railroad park. The engines and cars are beautifully restored. You can tell they take good care of them. It's a short walk from the Ice Rink parking lot.
Mike “ — Google review
High Line Railroad Park is a great place for kids ages 2-5. Amazing views for parents and great fun time of kids. The park has a giant pretend railway ticket booth, a play area with train shapes, and a couple of other structures with slides. There are also plenty of picnic tables for parents to relax while the kids play. The playground is surrounded by trees and a few meters away from the road, making it a safe place for kids to run around. The sand ground cover is soft on little feet. My two-year-old loved pretending to be a conductor at the ticket booth, and she had a blast climbing through the train cars. The other structures were a bit too challenging for her, but she still had fun exploring them.
Bhaumik M — Google review
This is always one of our kids favorite parks. They love to pretend with the playground town and train car. They also love the real train cars and playing around pretending they are going back in time. The breck troll on the other side the the ice rink parking lot is an extra bonus.
Lauren R — Google review
This was a really cool little park outside Breckenridge. The place isn't that big, but it's a great break from the downtown main street area of Breckenridge. A cool, small railroad themed park. The place is nice and clean and there are some trails and paths you can walk around. The only downside is there isn't a restroom or port-a potty.
Timothy W — Google review
What a great park! Especially for my almost three year boy who LOVES trains. There are quite a few trains to see and a great playground next to it. I will warn you that there are signs asking you to please not climb the trains....but literally everyone was ignoring those signs (yes, even parents). So not sure if that’s actually ever enforced or followed. This park is very near the Main Street and is definitely one we’d visit again!
Katie H — Google review
Pretty cool park. A few trains to check out and some parts/ engines to look at. There is a nice playground. It was mostly covered in snow here in late March but my 3 year old still enjoyed playing on it. Ample parking. I didn't see any restrooms though.
Sugar L — Google review
A great little park/playground with a bit of railroad history. We enjoyed our stop here. Would be nice they had outhouse/restroom facility available.
Aaron W — Google review
Stop by to see the old narrow gauge train, the Troll trail, skate at the indoor ice rink or just let the kids run riot at the playground. A trip here is good for about an hour of family fun, longer if you're a serious hiker.

Nestled in the heart of Breckenridge, Colorado, the Breckenridge Recreation Center is a sprawling 69,000-square-foot facility that caters to both locals and tourists. Boasting an array of amenities, this vibrant hub offers something for everyone. From its well-equipped gymnasium and indoor tennis courts to a variety of exercise equipment including cardio machines and free weights, visitors can engage in diverse physical activities.
Great rec center! We only were there for the pool, steam room and showers, which were all clean. We had the pool area to ourselves on a Thursday evening. Had kid play area, basketball hoop and rock wall in the water were fun! The outdoor hot tub was pretty crowded so we went to the indoor hot tub which I thought could be a little hotter. Next time I would like to check out the weight room. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.
Grace M — Google review
The remodel is disappointing. The old pool was amazing: with a super cool slide and a whirlpool and a single space that was large and versatile. It was perfect for kids of all ages . The new design is SO noisy. The kids pool is broken into such small areas that it’s difficult to play anywhere except where the water is 10 inches deep. Really inefficient use of space. Very limiting design not well suited for anyone but a toddler.
Janice N — Google review
Everything is fine in the gym areas, always clean. The worst part is the bathrooms; they smell of damp, the floor is horribly uneven, and you feel like you're bumping into things. The showers are old, and the worst part is the wooden doors, along with smelly and stained plastic curtains. They need to remodel the entire area. The family bathrooms, the men's and women's bathrooms, and the sauna all need to be modernized. and finally the jacuzzi that is outside needs more attention, it is dirty and feels sticky and slimy.
Lo L — Google review
I cannot say enough about this place. It is always super clean, there’s always equipment available and the programming is spectacular. They are super responsive and friendly. I love the rec center!
Catherine A — Google review
Absolutely the best powerlifting set-up in Summit County. It's light, bright and spacious with almost everything you need for SBD and accessory lifting. The only drawbacks are they lack calibrated Kg plates, the bars generally have poor knurling and all the benches are multipurpose rather that lift specific so there is a hinge. Compared to Silverthorne Rec Center, this place is Miles away superior and better priced!!
Lisa R — Google review
Overall it’s a great gym good variety the but BIG downside to it though is that it closes really early for a gym like 8pm on the week days some people have work and want to go after and they open at 5 AM like what kinda schedule is that no one’s going at 5 AM😂

Tons of great amenities and we really appreciated how disability accessible everything was. Lots of fun to visit!

Blue River Plaza is a lively and scenic riverfront area in Breckenridge, offering various attractions for visitors of all ages. The plaza holds historical significance as the place where gold was first discovered, and visitors can learn about the town's history at the nearby Breckenridge Heritage Alliance Gaymon Cabin.
“Breckenridge Blue River Plaza feels like stepping into the middle of a Hallmark movie. The snow-covered streets, twinkling lights, and festive atmosphere made it such a beautiful experience. We visited the day after Christmas, and it was absolutely worth the scenic drive up the mountain. The town was magical, and we all had an amazing time. Highly recommend visiting during the holidays!”

Wonderful little plaza next to the welcome center where you can stroll around, sit and people watch, or just enjoy some time outdoors. The trees were all beautifully lit during the holidays, and the holiday decor was all around. It truly felt like you were in a winter wonderland. We took some amazing pictures, and my son and I even made a snowman!

We loved the slide and dipping our hands into the river! A great pit stop to get the wiggles out before or after a meal on main Street or between shops.

This is a nice little park in the middle of Breckenridge with the stream running right through it. There are Pic nice tables, rifles to climb on, and slides to entertain the kiddos. We stopped here nearly every day that we were in town and the kids never wanted to leave!

Small park/plaza great for relaxing or having fun or kids play. It has a small playground with shade trees. Very well maintained.

The BreckConnect Gondola in Breckenridge offers free rides from the town center to the bases of peaks 7 and 8, providing access to skiing, summer hikes, and a fairground. It's a popular activity for families with kids as it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. At Peak 8 Mountain, visitors can enjoy various activities such as mountaintop lunches and hikes.
BreckConnect Gondola is one of those rare attractions that offers something for everyone — whether you’re a thrill-seeking adventurer, a nature lover, or a family with young kids looking for a fun and scenic day out. 🌄 Stunning Views on the Ride The gondola ride itself is an unforgettable experience. It whisks you smoothly from downtown Breckenridge up to the mountain base in just under 15 minutes. Along the way, you’re treated to panoramic views of the Tenmile Range, charming alpine forests, and the town below. It’s a great opportunity to sit back, relax, and soak in the beauty of Colorado — perfect for photos and videos. 🎢 Summer Fun – Not Just a Ski Resort While most people associate Breckenridge with skiing, the summer activities at the top of the gondola are just as exciting. At Epic Discovery, kids (and adults) can enjoy: • Mountain biking trails with lift access for all skill levels • Alpine slides and coasters for adrenaline-pumping fun • Zip lines, rope courses, and climbing walls • A scenic alpine loop hike that’s easy and kid-friendly • Wildlife spotting — keep an eye out for marmots, foxes, and even moose 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for Families What makes BreckConnect Gondola truly special is how family-friendly it is. It’s a great way to keep children entertained while also enjoying the great outdoors.
JIGNESH G — Google review
The gondola is free, it's an awesome scenic ride starting right by main street in town, stop at shock hill, then peak 7 and then peak 8, there's some bars and restaurants at both peaks with great views, then the ride back down is just as scenic, can definitely spend an hour or two with the family see some views and get some coffee at peak 8 without skiing.
Bob H — Google review
Such a beautiful stress free ride. So scenic. The views are amazing!
Veronica L — Google review
Awesome experience and great ride for my first time. Lovely location with lots of activities at peak 8.
Brett — Google review
Gondola and parking are free in the summer. Kids love soaring over the condos and the animal preserve. Gondola takes you up to the ski base area. In summer, they have a lot of (expensive) adventure activities. Slightly cheaper to buy online for pickup at the will-call window rather than the on-site window. Look around to see what you'd like to do, then see the information booth in the center for pricing options. Then use the available QR Code and your smartphone to get the online discount. Take water. Like at any ski location, food and drink are nearly+50% to double the cost downtown. I will say the Alpine Slide is a unique thrill and worth a try. It's a three to four minute ride depending on how fast you go. The area is US Forest Service land so you can also go hiking.
Michael B — Google review
We went during the summer and it was free to ride the gondola , which was awesome! And went up to the top and had a beer. Was a good ride!
Kelsie C — Google review
The gondola was super fun, despite getting stuck up there for 25 minutes. The views were beautiful! The attendant Austin T. greeted us with a smile and kind word each time we got off (we road several times).
Caylee S — Google review
It had some great views and was nice to get off my feet for a while. It took about 20-30 minutes, round-trip. We decided not to get off and just ride it up and back. Parking, you have a couple of options. You can either pay $15 in the north parking lot, or if you are lucky, you can see if there are any free spots in the south parking lot. Good luck. There aren't a ton of spots in the south lot. But we did find one. And parking with a full-size truck with a hitch bike rack was tight.

Epic Discovery at Breckenridge is a thrilling summer park located on Peak 8, accessible by a picturesque gondola ride. The park offers an array of exciting activities including the Breckenridge Gold Runner Coaster, alpine slides, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, bounce house, mini-golf course, and Colorado's largest human maze.
This is our 3rd year doing Epic Discovery as a family, and we always have such a good time! Definitely recommend going on a weekday, we experienced minimal lines for the rides, but when we were walking around on a Saturday it was packed. We found that the unlimited pass was perfect for our kids, and my husband and I just got an Adventure pass, which was good for 3 activities. The Gold Runner Coaster is so much fun, the Alpine Slide is great too. Our kids also love the gem mining, bungee trampoline and mini golf. It’s expensive but you can definitely make a day out of it!
Caitlin H — Google review
The experience was beyond disappointing. After paying an absurd price for a family of 5 to play mini golf at $125 for an 18 hole course, the conditions could not have been worse. There was mulch all over the course, the bricks and groundwork were falling apart, and the putting green was absolutely destroyed in multiple holes. Additionally, for that price, they didn’t provide scorecards. There was nothing redeeming about the course for the price paid when a majority of courses are almost a third of the price. Absurd to see the lack of care provided for that price. Will never come back again.
Paul S — Google review
I would give this a much higher rating, but the prices are ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, you can definitely have some fun here. However, the lines are Long, the food is expensive, and all the activities are entirely too much. If you buy a ticket That is unlimited rides, it will run you $120 a person. And then they play the Price game. If you only ride one thing, once, they charge you $50. The second that you want to do two things, the prices don’t make sense. And you have to buy a ticket to write everything once. If you have Kids, you’re going to end up paying $120 per child. And they cannot write alone, so you will have to go with them on those rides that requires supervision. The beers cost $13. The food is expensive and it’s not really good. If money, does not matter to you, then you’ll have fun, but there are long lines. That being said, you can go mountain, biking, Jumping, put golf, sliding, mountain roller coaster, and many other really cool activities. This place would be fantastic. If they weren’t just trying to steal you blind.

We had fun! We're fortunate enough to be there early and was able to go back to back, 3-4 times, on the coaster and alphine slides. My kids are 8 and 9 yrs old and some of the activities are more for younger kids.

A great way to spend a summer day in Breckenridge, but very pricey! A few notes: *Purchase tickets online - the will call line is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter *unlimited pass was perfect for our family - kids played from open to close while we grownups hung out on the outdoor tables & Adirondack chairs watching, eating and drinking *Outside food/drink is allowed, but no outside alcohol. *we were glad to have binoculars to keep an eye on our kids *alpine slides took about 30 minutes round trip (with no line) *smaller kids have to ride with someone at least 16 years of age for slide and coaster *bungee trampoline is timed as a two minute experience. Not worth the price unless you have an unlimited pass.
Jenny D — Google review
Definitely a bit pricey but getting the all day pass is the way to go if you have kids. Unfortunately lightning in the area shut things down a couple of times and we weren't able to do the everything but luckily with vouchers that they offer because of the weather we are able to come back again. We were a little impatient when it cam to the trampoline because out of 4 spot 1 or 2 were really going. They were possibly under staffed. I do suggest packing your own snacks and lunch food up here is pricey but to be expected Side shout out to Cole working the welcome desk today dealing with my multiple questions throughout the day. He was a great help to have and very cheerful with everyone I saw him interect with.

We enjoy the alpine coaster and alpine slide. We'd give the experience a 5, if it not for the cost of $160 for 6 rides. We break down our cost per ride or run each time down the hill. At minute 30 second ride for $26.66 per ride, that's a bit steep, pardon the pun.

Went here for snowmobiling as a family. the quality of the instructors is amazing! They take the time to be sure that everyone knows how to operate the snowmobile safely and then separate you into smaller groups by family. the trails are well maintained and can be as challenging as your skills permit. the guides decide how well you're doing and if you're ready for something more advanced.

Stunningly beautiful. We were fortunate to see a moose entering the water. Excellent hiking around to see these views. Trails meticulously maintained.

This was a great walk. The trail is well maintained and relatively easy to walk on, but watch those tripping hazards (tree roots and rocks). There are a few hills, but they are not steep or high. Along the trail are a few observation platforms. We saw many birds and squirrels and enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely trail! We were lucky that it started snowing the day we decided to go on this trail. We had WONDERFUL scenic views of the gulch and trail. It's a fairly easy hike, and took us about 1.5hr (total roundtrip) to complete including plenty of stops for taking pictures and enjoying the snow (with a few snowball fights). :)

Nice walk through the wildlife preserve. If you are quiet and look closely, you just might be rewarded with a moose sighting or two. Easy hike with about 300' elevation gain over 3 miles. I recommend for nature lovers of all ages.

Great easy trail for nature viewing. Spotted moose on two early morning hikes. Naturalist at cabin near beaver pond was friendly and informative. Some days we would get a short shower so bring along some rain gear but most were short.

One of my favorite hikes in #Breckenridge. This is a mostly easy hike offers a variety of wildflowers and picturesque surroundings. There are several trails through the area. If you are lucky you can spot some wildlife. We saw deer and have seen moose in the past. If you would like to hike down the trail instead of up, you can get close to the trailhead using the gondola.

I took the Walk Through History tour with Sherrie and had a wonderful time learning about the history of Breckenridge through her fascinating stories. Sherrie is a warm and knowledgeable guide who taught our group about more than just the mining history of the town— we also talked about the architecture, prominent city dwellers from both past and present, how the famous ski resort came to be, the indigenous people who lived here, and even some info about the modern history of Breckenridge. Sherrie made the town come alive on my inaugural visit here and I found myself telling and retelling her stories to my family after the tour. Don’t miss this informative and fun experience!

Playground
River Park and Playground is a large public park that offers children aged 5-12 an unconventional play experience in a natural setting. Unlike traditional playgrounds, it features structures designed to resemble forests, river systems, and snowcapped mountains, encouraging imaginative play and connecting young minds to the local topography. Situated adjacent to the Blue River, this park promotes an active outdoor lifestyle with nature-driven activities.
Breckenridge is not really a large town. The tourist base it caters to does not really include preschoolers. So while there is one other playground on the south side of town near the locomotives and ice skating, it is minimal. For preschoolers and young elementary students, this is a creative and engaging playground. In addition to swings and slides it has extensive climbing structures suitable for two year olds through ten year olds. The river is nearby and there is a preschool and young elementary oriented bike (or balance bike) track. It is located on the north end in what appears to be a worker housing district. There is some parking, bathrooms, a covered picnic area, and access to the riverside trails.

Consider renting a bike to get out here from downtown Breckenridge. There's a kids biking circuit that is super fun. We put our 6yr old on a kids electric bike (we rented from Ridden) to get out here. We walked the bikes on the sidewalk to the start of the Blue River Bikeway and from there it's a straight shot here with minimal interaction with vehicles (just a few road crossings). He loved doing the ride himself!

One of the most beautiful parks I’ve been too in a long time. It was perfect for our 3, 7 and 9 year old. The log climbing apparatus was exciting for the 9 year old. Beautiful backdrop of the mountains. Super close to some awesome food spots like Coa Cantina and Breckenridge Distillery. There is a beautiful trial and creek close.

Felice — Google review
Awesome playground just north of Breck proper. Relatively new, so it doesn’t show up on satellite maps yet. Very near the Denison bus stop on the Gray Route. Our kids loved the unique and different structures. Makes them use their minds and bodies more than basic playgrounds. It is a little “unsafe” by modern standards, so it may require a little more supervision. The wood poles are a bit rough and produced a few splinters. Squishy rubber play surface. Includes a sand pit area with little excavators. Right in the river trail. The bathrooms/water fountains are clean and modern. There’s a covered pavilion with several picnic tables. We went in early September and had the place to ourselves... the distance from town allows for a bit more seclusion. Neat place.

Carter Park Sledding Hill in Breckenridge, Colorado is a popular spot for families and kids. It's conveniently located near the Frisco Adventure Park tubing hill and offers free sledding every day from 9:00 a.m. until dusk. The well-maintained hill provides free sleds on site and features a lodge with concessions offering snacks like nachos, brats, and beer.
We had so much fun here!!!! Parking is tight but nothing to worry because people do come and go. This is a public park so it is free merry-making, just bring your own sled. There is also a dog park beside it so you can bring your beloved pets!
Ja R — Google review
Sledding for free? Yes, please! This park is an absolute gem for anyone looking to enjoy some outdoor fun without spending a dime. Let’s start with the logistics: parking can be a bit hectic, so be prepared to hunt for a spot. But once you’re in, the experience makes it all worthwhile. You can bring your own sleds, or if you’re feeling lucky, check out the “sled shed” to see if others have left any behind. We hit the jackpot and snagged four sleds from the shed! The walk to the top of the sledding hill isn’t too bad, and the views are absolutely stunning. The scenery alone is worth the visit, but the real thrill comes when you sled down. It’s breathtaking—literally and figuratively! The park is well-maintained, clean, and even has a gated area for your furry friends to roam safely. And here’s the cherry on top: everything here is completely free. No fees, no time limits—just pure, unfiltered fun. I would defined recommend this park to anyone searching for an affordable, family-friendly excursion.

It's located near the end of Boreas Pass road and offers insights into the town's sawmill, including its machines and impact on residents' lives. I love that places like this have been preserved for the world to experience. I think it does is a huge justice to see and be able to kinda step back in time and see that we didn't just get where we are from nowhere. We had to be innovative and pioneer everything. We are adaptive & that we don't have to be stuck where we are... Big movements come from just one idea, then someone to build that idea and make it into something that we can supply the world with. Throughout history, people have thought and even said that we were maxed out with new inventions, we couldn't possibly keep going... But look at us now. It's not too late to change the world as we know it, it all starts with a simple idea and the courage to put it into play, & most importantly, to know that failure is part of every great invention.

Eddie H — Google review
Great piece of history captured and well displayed. Lots of machines to look at. With a little imagination, you can "see" a board coming through the whole process. Make sure you pick up one of the guide pamphlets, it will tell you what happened at each station.
John H — Google review
Fantastic machinery with numbered descriptions. This place usually has pamphlets to describe the history and what each piece did. The Breck Historic Society website also has info. This area was significant in the contribution to milled lumber and furthering the growth of building capability and design. The nearby trail is a nice little walk. The small cabin and outhouse across the way is a nice backdrop but not worth stomping around - the new tree growth will appreciate less foot traffic. No bathrooms or garbage cans - pack it out and keep this area clean. Moose and bear frequent the area so keep your dogs on a leash.

Great fun for all ages. Our group of 8 ranged from 6 to 73. and there was something for everyone. The slide was a big hit with the 6 -50 age group, the guys enjoyed mountain biking from the top of the chairlift. The little ones loved the rope course and the maze. Be prepared to spend the day and some money.

It was fun with teens. Lines should be expected as it’s an amusement park. Coaster was fast, slide was fast. The price isn’t too bad if you plan to stay all day from open to close. Here’s a tip, pick your lane based on who’s in front of you. Saw so many young kids (and some adults) use the brake the whole way down making them go extremely slow. Which is fine until you catch up to them and now you’re going the same speed. Here’s a tip to share with your adventurous ones that want to go as fast as possible - LISTEN to the instructions given and use the hand brakes to slow down before the turns - YOU WILL FLIP AND ROLL. One of my teens didn’t slow down enough and wiped out. He got a black eye and tore up both knees and arms pretty good. With that - the first aid booth attendant was great! I’d wait till day of for ticket purchase as weather and ride availability can change daily.

Had a great time. Did not know what to expect. We didn't actually look at what they had. We thought we were just going to the town of breckinridge to see what it looked like. After all, its summer. No snow. Well there is a lot to do. I would recommend the everything package for $99. It will be worth it even if you only do 1/3 of it all. Definitely take the gondola from north side of Breckinridge so you get to see the views. We had a great time

Place was a complete ripoff. We drove from Silverthorne to Breck and online, the prices are hidden! $48 per person, per ride!! It would've cost $150 for my family to do one ride! Daily passes are $90! Not a lot of rides to do! Amusement parks are a way better deal like Busch Gardens and the one in Denver is much better!
William S — Google review
On a Tuesday in early August, lines for any activity ranged from 30 minutes for the mild/little kid activities to over an hour for the mountain coaster, slide and trampoline. We got through 4 of the larger attractions in a 5.5 hour span. $300 for an adult and 2 kids and we spent 90% of our time standing in line. I can't imagine what a weekend is like. I'm giving a star back because when we actually got to ride, the coaster and slide were very fun.
Jeff N — Google review
Had some pretty good fun with the rides and there was enough to do. Just expect to spend 110 for two kids to participate in 3 rides. It's right at $50 (under 48") $62 (over 48") and more if you want to have an all day pass. I was just concerned with letting my 6 & 7 yr old going up the lift by themselves as there is only a swing arm. Note: they do not let parents ride with their children if no wristband.
Tony B — Google review
Beautiful sunny day and rides still closed most of the day for far off lightning so was a waste of money for us. Wondering if the lightning policy needs tweaking. I know we are more bitter since alpine slide shut down after waiting an hour when we were finally close to boarding. Chair lift soooo slow. We go to Breckenridge a lot and enjoy this sort of thing but no plans to ever return to Adventure Park. :(

The store also features a free play area for kids, making it an ideal stop for families. Additionally, the town's Arts District continues to expand, offering activities like painting functional pottery at Ready Paint Fire and indulging in delicious treats at Mary's Mountain Cookies.
My kids loved the assortment of toys. They were allowed to pick one item to remember their Colorado trip, which was hard for them to choose because of the number of things the store carried. They loved everything!
Rema — Google review
The store is large, so you would think they'd have SOME section for adult game nights. Sadly, not much of a selection, most they have is the most common things, such as Catan. The majority of the place was filles to the brim with childhood imagination sort of gifts and gadgets. Which is great for the children, just essentially not for us.
Play Y — Google review
This makes no sense. Toy store that sells OFF and REPEL, toxic for the environment and people. At reach for the kids. Manager got back with me saying I leave negative reviews in general. I leave many positive reviews for businesses. I leave negative reviews for businesses just like Peak-A-Boo Toys that deserve a negative review. Picture I took inside your store speaks volumes. You're allowing children at their reach to hold and possibly spray a very toxic chemical. Use intelligence with that, and this is not earth friendly, or good for our environment here in Colorado where I reside. You obviously aren't into today's world being health conscious and not intelligent enough to understand the cancerous affects of the brand OFF or REPEL or simply don't care enough about the affects this has on our environment here in Colorado when the after spray hits our land and air. Be smatter and you won't see a bad review.

The owner assured my two children that the La boo boo dolls were real. They both spent their hard earned money on one and they are FAKE! This shop lacks integrity and I will never buy anything ever again. Update to your response. This is untrue. We asked at checkout and the person who checked us out said the owner said they were real. You can buy these on the app for $27 for preorder right now. That is a normal retail price. People try to sell them for more bc they are hard to find IRL and not preorder. Your clerk made us believe we got lucky with a restock. Your response is unacceptable. You scammed children. Gross! Do better!

South Gondola Lot is a paid parking area located next to the gondola, offering year-round convenience. For those seeking free parking, the satellite lot on Airport Rd provides an alternative with a complimentary shuttle service to the Breckenridge Transfer Center. The garage also features numerous ChargePoint level 2 chargers for electric vehicles. With its close proximity to the gondola, it's just a short 5-minute walk away and offers easy access for skiers and snowboarders alike.
Great newish addition to parking at Breck. I guess it's been a couple years now. Walk over to the Breck Connect gondola and head up the hill plenty of spaces and reasonable rates. Just don't forget to pay for parking!

The views on the way up are absolutely stunning snow-covered trees mountains, and the whole town from above. It’s a relaxing ride and a great way to get to the ski area or just enjoy the scenery.

Easy and quick way to take gondola up to peak 8. Discount for cars with more than 4 visitors. Price was fair.
Adam L — Google review
Great location. Yes, it can be expensive. Biggest issue I have with it, is trying to find a parking attendant to ask for a carpool discount(50%). Most of the time they are no where to be found, which can get really irritating.
Daniel — Google review
Clean place to park (and possibly get robbed via a parking violation). This parking lot has the most complex set-up, the 5 different ways to pay for parking aren't advertised like the HonkMobile App is, which also isn’t clear on how it works. It lets you pay for parking without an account, but if you need to extend your time, good luck. After spending hundreds of dollars at the Ski Resort, be ready to pay a $40 fee if you didn’t quite understand how to pay for parking.
Alonzo D — Google review
Many ChargePoint level 2 chargers in the garage. I saw at least 10 plugs. I charged around 5 hours for $6. Parking fee is $25 for the day as of Feb 2023. As others have mentioned, the gondola is a short 5 min walk from this lot.
Zion — Google review
This is a pay to park lot. Oh, no they don't have signs or any place out in the open where you can actually pay, but you can guarantee that you and everyone else around you will come back to a $40 parking violation. We are appealing it, but who knows if it will go anywhere. Check the other reviews and park somewhere else.
Mike L — Google review
Their website says $5/ day during the week. Got there and employee says it's $15/day because it's the "holidays." Really, on Tuesday, 12/20? I said fine, I'm already here and parked. I get to the kiosk to pay and it informs me it's $25/day. Would have gone somewhere else if I didn't have people waiting on me. Not cool. At all.

Breckenridge Skate Park, completed in 2014, is a popular spot for skaters of all levels. The park offers bowls for both beginners and pros, as well as a snake run. It's open from sunrise to sunset and free to use. While the park doesn't have lights, it does offer a skate camp on weekdays during the summer. Skaters appreciate the variety of street and vert elements at this park, along with its stunning mountain views.
Great park with an even better view! There’s a good variety of street and vert.

Excellent park. Lots of steeper transitions for speed and pumping. A good few gaps that are fun too. Great design and location.
Hunter B — Google review
Awesome skatepark in the heart of Breckenridge. I come here on a weekly basis to get my fix of street, transition and bowls. Only downside is they eliminated lights when they rebuilt the park. They also offer a skate camp from 8am-12pm on weekdays in the summer, so if you want to avoid kids, avoid those times.
Daniel K — Google review
Small but good. My kids go there all the time and more times then none older skateboard guys help my boys out. It is next to recreation center so a good place for young kids to hang with no worries.

Be prepared to be harrassed by every 12-14 year old for not being as good at skating compared to them or the 15-17 age group who takes over the entire park for their hangout smoke seshs. Greatly build park, but WORST skate environment I have ever experienced.
Matt H — Google review
Looking forward to a fun skate day at one of the best parks in Summit, the session was shut down do to the fact that a skateboard camp has closed off the park Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm to anyone not a part of the camp ages 6-12. As a skateboarder of 14 years this is suppose to be one of the most inclusive sports but when what is presumed to be a free park takes action and makes it so others can not enjoy the park during prime hours it adds insult to injury that these are lessons of rejection are being taught to the campers every time someone wants to come skate. Clearly those in charge of this program dont actually care about the spirit of skateboarding and teaching inclustivity but profit. I have updated the park hours for you on Google maps since its only open to the public after 12. *camp counselor in the park was not wearing his mask since this is a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Hiking area
B&B Mine Trailhead Parking is a convenient and easily accessible starting point for a gentle hiking trail suitable for most hikers. The trail offers beautiful scenery with rolling woodlands and mountain views, as well as remnants of old mining camps. While the path may be a bit muddy in some areas and have patches of snow, it provides an enjoyable experience close to downtown Breckenridge. The trail can be a bit confusing to navigate, but using apps like All Trails can help with directions.
We came late march, snow was still about 3 feet deep. Really fun hike, nice view, a lot of water surrounding the area. Watch for the elevation, it was harder to breathe at first but we got used to it after a while. You'll need waterproof shoes to be able to hike in the snow properly.
Cherie L — Google review
Beautiful, and far enough away from the city to be quiet and plenty peaceful. Lots of great trails can be accessed from this trailhead for a mix variety of recreational activities. Trails start out as easy but there are several much harder options just short ways beyond the lot. I would give 5 stars, but there is no bathroom. Great place to bring dogs.
Joaquin E — Google review
Well-kept trail with interesting information about mining practices and the remains of the effects on the environment. We only did out and back from the dredge because we had a toddler with us. (Definitely a kid friendly hike that’s less busy than trails in town.) Mostly sun exposed with shady spots here and there so make sure to bring sunscreen and water. Didn’t get too hot though and there’s lot of place to stop a take breaks. We had a little snack at the mid point. Good amount of room for parking and we did see a handful of people but not super busy so we got space and time by ourselves in nature.
Hollie B — Google review
A great jumping off point for various loop and in-and-out trails. The trails are well maintained and there are numerous small "ruin" sites in the area with various remnants of the former mines and mining camps that existed here. The scenery is stunning, particularly in the fall months, and the vistas are spectacular.
P G — Google review
Very scenic trail, amazing mountain views, most of the old mining camps are disassembled. There is a lot of tree shade. The trail is a bit confusing to navigate, we used the ALL TRAILS APP and downloaded the trail, which saved us a ton of time not getting lost, lol. Trail markings are not marked on each turn, more like every 3 or so turns. Large parking lot with plenty of free parking.
Rick — Google review
Amazing trail within minutes from downtown Breckenridge! Lots of connecting trails so you can make your hike as short or as long as you like. Lots of great views and unique structures to look at for being a relatively easy to moderate trail. You can bring dogs, or also ride mountain bikes if that's your thing. Highly recommended if you are looking for a great hike next to town.
Devin H — Google review
The trailhead was easy to find and there was ample room for parking. The trail was gentle and would be easy for most types of hikers. However, it was a little muddy on our May 21 hike. We encountered several patches of snow and these were often knee high. But the path is beautiful and scenery is very nice. I would describe them as rolling woodlands. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this hike, but next time in this area I will definitely do it again.

Lots of power outlets. Great for "work from home" while staying in Breck for a couple of days. Nice comfy chairs. Some kids at the play area on one side of the library could be a little loud sometimes but nothing causes an issue. Nice view of the mountains.

I am absolutely in love with this library. It is my favourite place in Breckenridge. The atmosphere is immaculate, the staff are lovely, there are tons of books (new and old, almost all of them hardcovers) as well as many computers. The printer is cheap and prints nicely and in color. The sofas and chairs are comfortable. Everything is so so so nice. They give you the books for two weeks, with the possibility of extending that period. They have a loooot of resourses, challenges and clubs. I love it here, I wish my city had something remotely close to this.

We just spent a whole month in Breckenridge and guess what? We ended up at the local library more than 20 times! I'm telling you, this place is amazing – it could be the best library ever. The staff are the friendliest folks you'll meet. They're super helpful and always up for a chat, which makes a huge difference, especially when you're new in town. They make you feel right at home. Oh, and my kids? They couldn't get enough of the library. They absolutely loved the creator classes and 'Lego with Luke' was a big hit. It's not every day you find a place that's so fun and educational for kids. We even did the Yeti Escape Room, which was a blast! For me, the best part was the books – they have an incredible selection. I found myself wishing I could just spend days reading there. There's something for everyone, no matter what you're into. I worked remotely from the library every afternoon, and it was such a cozy, quiet spot to focus. Honestly, it's hard to top the beauty of Breckenridge with all its snow, but the library came pretty close. It's a special place in the heart of a special town. We can't wait to come back next year.
Scott C — Google review
Major lack of workspace with outlets, I work from "home" a lot and travel and it's the sort of situation I run into in older libraries, except its brand new.. Most newly constructed or renovated libraries are amazing, with ample work space with laptops in mind. Those glorified waiting room chairs with the little swing out desk feature are bearable if you can push one near an outlet, how about some tables with chairs... other than the one little one everybody fights over. Its a super nice library, comfortable and friendly staff, probably great for kids, but for being brand new it doesn't seem like they put any thought into modern use, such as students/professionals setting up laptops and working.

Breckenridge Fairy Forest is a charming trail filled with whimsical fairy and gnome homes that anyone would enjoy, especially families. The trail starts at the Snowflake ski lift on 4 O'Clock Street and leads to the reservoir, offering great scenery with water flowing along the path. While relatively flat, there are some climbs to reach the forest. It's important to follow directions carefully to avoid getting lost in this stretch of forest where fairies and gnomes have made their homes.
Great little trail full of whimsy! It's relatively flat, but you will have to climb to get to it. I think the easiest route is to follow the 4 O'clock trail uphill from the Snowflake ski lift. The fairy forest is technically on the 4 O'clock hiking/snowshoe trail. We came from the Sawmill Reservoir area, and we had to hunt a bit to find the forest. Don't forget to respect the fairies while you're there!
Michael A — Google review
Read reviews about the fairy trail so I had to go find it. I think anyone would enjoy it, would love to have had my grandchildren with me and my husband. We started at the snowflake ski lift on 4 ‘o’clock street and followed the trail to the reservoir. It was great scenery water flowing along the trail. There was still snow and ice on the path so a little slippery. Once you go up the stairs to the reservoir you will take a right turn. Not the right turn that takes you around the reservoir. Take the second right across a boardwalk toward the ski chairs. From there you will see the fairy trail. Keep walking it until you start finding fun little tiny houses along the way . Keep going until you end the trail. Was not sure where we were going to end up we eventually found a paved road that took us back down to where we started at snowflake ski lift.

Not too tough of a trail, beautiful when you reach the falls. 62 year old dad completed it with ease. Parking is interesting. There are about 3 parking spots at the actual trail head. If you don’t want to add an extra 2 miles to your hike, it might be worth it to drive down and see if there is a spot available. Otherwise you will have a calm 2 mile walk to the trail head from the free public parking lot.

We found this location just on a whim not expecting anything out of it but it was by far the best thing we have seen. The water and mountains just looked fake like a painting. On one side was the lake and on the other was snow, it was absolutely amazing. I recommend this to anyone coming to sightsee or just to find something peaceful. It was very very cold and windy but 100% worthy for what you see. Nature is beautiful and the best place you can find that is here.

We went in September. The trail was rugged and a little hard to follow. The views were nice but not spectacular. There were not many Aspen trees to view. This may be a better hike for the flowers in the spring. The parking lot is almost 2 miles away from the trailhead.

Had a blast hiking this trail yesterday. Made it to the first lake and the views were great. Took a lot of breaks on the way up as it is quite strenuous. If you aren’t used to high altitude I would suggest bringing an oxygen can. We spent 5 hours here.
Brian L — Google review
If you are an experienced hiker - or at least someone who has done a few higher altitude hikes, then do this one. It’s definitely not easy. The altitude makes it more challenging if you are someone like me who lives at sea level. I was huffing and puffing quite a bit, but I took lots of breaks and adapted quickly. I suggest a walking stick or poles for stability. The tail becomes very rocky and in some places you may think there’s no trail at all. It’s not marked well. I hiked to the falls and then to the first lake. It can be a full day adventure depending on your abilities. On the way back down I spotted a young couple off in a wooded area who were lost. I got them back on track and stayed with them until they were safely back at their car. If you are on the more adventurous side, tackle this one.
Angie S — Google review
This was the first hike I've done in Colorado. I went with some friends who were locals. And I certainly struggled on this hike when we got to 12000 feet because of the altitude. We ended up turning around because I was not doing well, so if you're not used to the altitude, don't expect to make it to the end 🤣. But all around such gorgeous views and very easly accused. We had some confusion on where we were allowed to park but aside from that all around great experience.

Sapphire Point Overlook offers breathtaking views of Lake Dillon, surrounded by forested mountains. It's a popular spot for picnics and even weddings. The overlook is easily accessible from the parking area, with a short 0.6-mile loop trail to explore as well. However, visitors should be mindful of not disturbing events like weddings that may take place there. The area is known for its beautiful scenery and wildlife, including friendly chipmunks, although feeding them is discouraged.
Amazing spot for an intimate wedding. Please be advised you must get a permit for your wedding, AND the area isn't necessarily closed to the public on the walking trail during your celebration, but it's private enough. Stunning in all four seasons. A bit of a walk from the parking lot but honestly it really doesn't feel that far.
Libby P — Google review
Sweet overlook. Went on a lightly raining/drizzling day and it was still phenomenal. In fact, you probably get more unique views considering the heavy clouds rolling in the valleys between mountains. And the 0.6 mile loop, if you choose to hike, is very easy and beautiful
Ridwan A — Google review
An overlook with fabulous views of Dillon Lake/Reservoir and the mountains behind it only few miles from Frisco. The Overlook is apparently commonly used for weddings, but this requires prior reservation. Around the overlook there are many friendly chipmunks apparently used and expect to be fead by visitors. There is a relatively short loop trail from the overlook which is easy flat with no elevation gain and roughly 0.6 mile long also with beautiful views. Parking is free, the parking lot is of good size with bathroom at entrance of the trail.
Talal Z — Google review
Really cool location the loop is about a 10-15 min walk depending on your speed. There are 3 picnic benches where i encountered what I believe was chipmunks. They were a bit bothersome and wanted to run around and play. Don’t close your eyes you might find them sitting in your feet, head or book. They’re not shy at all.
Ashley B — Google review

Spruce Creek Trail, located in the Dillon Ranger District, offers a 6.2-mile out-and-back hike through picturesque landscapes of trees, streams, and mountains. The trailhead can be a bit tricky to find but is situated in the parking lot across from map boards. Hikers should be prepared for a challenging trek as they venture further along the trail towards the falls or lower lake, which may take around 3 hours one way.
Great hike. Not for the novice, lies of rocks and roots. The last 800 feet of elevation to the lakes is 100% a rock scramble and hard. And, the home is beautiful with stunning views. It took us 2:45 to complete, started at 10,200 feet and ended at 11,800.

Don't make the same mistake we did. You do not need to walk up the rocky 4x4 road, there is an actual trail. When standing at the big map board, turn around and cross the parking lot. The trailhead is right there. We walked up the 4x4 road which was hard and not very interesting. Saw the trail after coming down. Will try that next time. The lakes are amazing! Beautiful views, awesome hike, easy inclines. There are a lot of loose rocks and roots throughout the trails so definitely have to be mindful of your footing but not difficult. It was very disheartening to see how many people left their trash and poop bags throughout the trail, but the trail itself was great.

From here to the continental fall and Lower Mohawk Lake is about 6 miles in and out. The trail is not for beginner. A lot of rocks, tree root and steep slopes. We have a 12 yrs old and 9 yrs old so we walked a little slow and take a lot of rest. It took us 5 hrs in and out. My 68 yrs old mom didn’t make it to the Lower Mohawk Lake. Lower Mohawk lake is beautiful, and upper Mohawk lake is just amazing.

Started on Spruce Creek Trail and hiked to upper Mohawk Lake. Absolutely worth the hike. Can get steep at parts and the altitude can make you quickly winded if you're not used to high altitudes- but coming from living at <1000 ft and only giving ourselves less than a full day to acclimate we still managed to complete this hike. Stay very well hydrated. Loved the challenge. Hot at the start and frigid and windy at the top. Get here very early to secure parking. It was difficult to find a a parking spot when visiting at 10am on a Saturday. Crowds thin quickly on the trail after the first lake.

A nice leisurely hike in the high country. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. Enjoyed the big bull moose!

Beautiful, peaceful trail! I'm not a regular hiker, but I've done a few over the years. I would say this is moderate at least, especially if you're not used to the altitude. It's worth it, but is a time investment if you're going to see all the lakes. Take bug spray!!! The mosquitoes were plentiful and huge! Thankfully that also meant they were slow, and it kept me moving.
Corrie K — Google review
The hike is moderate at best, until the very end, if you choose to go to lower lakes. It is very clearly marked up until the end portion where there are no markers, just signs to guide you in the general direction. The trail can be slippery after a good rain so watch your step.

The road to the trailhead parking lot is a bit rough but nothing most cars can’t handle. The upper lake hike is up a wide service road with very little snow. Stunning views!! We saw marmots, chipmunks, and even mountain goats in the parking lot! Great walk for small kids.

Absolutely fantastic views and a great easy hike from the lower lake to the waterfall. But as of August 13, be careful because there is a section in the road that is not filled in and you cannot pass without something that’s lifted so there’s around a half mile , around 400 feet elevation hike up the road even to the lower lake..

Relatively easy. Some incline. Even driving up and seeing the lake view is worth it. It was windy and chilly at first but as you walk (and if the sun is out) you warm up. I was fine in a long sleeve shirt and leggings. We also spotted a family of moose on our drive to the parking lot.

Nice hike and beautiful scenery. It is only around 1 mile to the very top and the elevation isn't too bad. We visited on a weekday and it was not crowded at all.
Brandon S — Google review
Our favorite hike of our trip! We had kids ranging from 15-2 and they all loved it! They loved playing in the snow (still warm outside!) and climbing the rocks. I wanted to see a mountain goat and that is the first thing we saw when we parked!
Candimarie21 — Google review
I would give the location/lake 5 stars but have to give it 4 because of the ride up. Some of the largest potholes I have seen in my entire life (5 feet wide and deep), risking extreme damage to your vehicle. You can only make it up with a large 4WD/AWD vehicle. It would be great if the potholes would be filled so that everyone can enjoy this beautiful place. We did not see any mountain goats which was disappointing but the views were incredible. The road to the upper lake was closed so if you wanted to go up there you would have to park at the lower and walk up.

Beautiful views. Great location to begin a hike. This Trailhead serves the West ridge route of Mt. Quandary. Beautiful spot for photos.
Jrod K — Google review
These where taken a couple of years ago. The road is a little rough bit I made it up and back in a Pontiac G6 just fine. Go slow. You're basically at the lakes once you get to to the parking lot.
