Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo stands out as a premier conservation park that is home to over 700 animals. This unique mountain zoo offers visitors an array of interactive experiences, including the chance to feed giraffes and engage with various other species like goats and elephants. With its stunning exhibits such as the Asian Highlands and Rocky Mountain Wild, guests can explore diverse habitats while learning about endangered species conservation efforts.
Smaller zoo but top notch exhibits. Be prepared for some exercise. Zoo built into the side of a mountain. Switchback paths take you through the zoo - strollers can be a challenge. The animals appeared to be having as much fun as I was- so well cared for and enclosures were well adapted to what the animals need. Enrichment items were actually be used. Great views / scenery all around. There is also a jeep ride to the Shrine of the Sun. This should be a must do if you’re visiting. It’s an additional cost during the summer season but worth every penny ($10 a person - need to reserve a time slot). Also had timed entry. Added bonus was the up front reserved parking for Toyota vehicles. Had a great time here.
Paul P — Google review
Came here for my first time & I was blown away by how beautiful the scenery is here. They have a wide variety of animals & you can get pretty close to a lot of them which makes for an amazing experience. My favorite part was definitely feeding the giraffes, they are so gentle & not afraid to come right up to you for a snack. The Australian exhibit was also pretty neat because you're able to get super close to the animals. There's fun for the whole family here & also makes for an enjoyable day for adults too. My only complaint is that they close at 5, so make sure you get there early so you have time to enjoy everything the zoo has to offer!
Holly M — Google review
Every year my sister and I take a trip together, we stop at one zoo per trip and we have visited some very cool zoos (KC zoo is our home zoo). This zoo was so much fun! And has some of the nicest enclosures, we were very excited about this. We LOVE seeing the animals have amazing space to live out their lives. While here the giraffe enclosure was being renovated. There was a baby gorilla. So many elephants and giraffes it was impressive. The hippos were vocal and the penguins come right up to the fence within reach.....but DO NOT touch them! The wallabys are free to roam so close the gates in their area! Loved this zoo
Melynda L — Google review
This place is AMAZING!! It's huge! Prepare for lots of walking and hills. Do not come here without pocket money. There are cafes and ice cream and popcorn and you can feed the giraffes so bring enough money for everyone in your group. But you can bring outside food and drinks so be smart. The animals are beautiful and look well cared for. The entire zoo was a clean environment. They even have 2 designated SMOKING AREAS!! like that was great to have a place to smoke. And there's staff everywhere so if you have questions about the animals or something else they're around to help. We had a fantastic day!!
Ashley D — Google review
This is a cool zoo. Easy to traverse and handicap accessible however some inclines as to be expected. Under construction during our visit but it didn’t stop us from seeing everything. Spent about 2 hours from start to finish. Love that they do dog days! So fun.
Jessica B — Google review
Super unique and fun zoo, friendly staff, lots to see. They are not kidding when they call this a "mountain zoo" because it's legit all uphill (bring a stroller if you have any kids under 3, because it's a ton of uphill walking and our 2.5 year old couldn't do it all). The layout is a little confusing, likely because of the zoo being on a mountain, you have to backtrack some to get to the next section, but once you figure it out, it's easy enough (use the maps to help). Despite these learning curves, we still had a great time, and our kids did too. Giving 5 stars because we didn't have any issues, just new experiences. Enjoy!!
Emily V — Google review
There were a bunch of animals to see, everything was organized, staff was friendly, it was clean, the animals appeared to be well kept, and we would definitely go back. Our kids loved feeding the giraffes the most. Keep in mind they're doing construction so some of the paths are unavailable and there is ongoing construction.
Paige C — Google review
The BEST zoo we have been too to date! We LOVED all the animal up close & being able to touch & feed animals. A lot of uphill but totally worth it! They have plenty of benches all over for resting if you get tired easily! Take a rain poncho, backpack, water, snacks. So cool that it is on the mountain. Loved the views. Excited for the new giraffe habitat to get finished to go back & see that! We got to see the new baby gorilla. Baby was definitely the star of the zoo, EVERYONE loved the baby. Too cute. Definitely recommend going to this zoo!

Nature & Parks
Hiking area
Garden of the Gods is a 1,300-acre park located just northeast of Colorado Springs. The park features an array of sandstone formations in various colors, offering picturesque landscapes for visitors. At the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, guests can access hiking trails, biking paths, and even guided nature walks. The park's diverse trails cater to different difficulty levels, with a wheelchair-accessible 1.5-mile trail available for all to enjoy.
This is an awesome place to visit, and it's free! Nicely paved trail and it's accessible. Rock climbing can be arranged from what I saw on signs but you have to make contact with the location first. This is a great place for pictures of the Red rocks. Definitely worth the stop and visiting multiple times. This was my second trip and I enjoyed the rocks just as much.
Jenn J — Google review
This is a must see. Absolutely breathtaking and not from the elevation. Nice walking trails and beautiful natural formations. Not a lot of traffic early morning/late October. A little chilly in the shade but that sun will warm you right up. Dog friendly and simple fun.
Jessica B — Google review
The best place I’ve ever been. I love everything about it. It’s definitely a unique spot you have to visit. The area is quiet, picturesque, and full of wildlife. You can hike for hours — just watch out for horse droppings!
MsDarBay — Google review
Beautiful drive with lots of stops along the route. Plenty of opportunity for hiking and seeing wildlife. There is no cost but you can donate to help with the preservation at the tasting post. We visited in October around 5pm, the weather and lighting were perfect.
Brian T — Google review
Driving across Colorado my wife noticed this incredible spot while reading about the area on her phone. We weren't in a hurry so we decided to give it a shot. Absolutely incredible! Never heard of it before. And admission is free. Perfect concrete walkways and nicely groomed hiking trails, but some of the hiking trails are pretty challenging. Wonderful experience.
Jeff M — Google review
This place is amazing. You just keep saying "wow" at every turn. There's a central part that's easy to walk and has sidewalks, and if you go early and are quiet - you can spot deer and other wildlife. You may even see permitted climbers working their way up a rock face. There is a lot to see in the center loop; howeverrrrr, if you got your grippy shoes, water, and some snacks... then adventure off into any of the outer trails. They are all a "little to a lot" different from each other (terrain, elevation gain and difficulty, vegetation, etc) buttttttttttttt on any trail you take you will be meandering along when out of nowhere ROCK FORMATION!👁👄👁 The colors of the rocks are mostly red (those are sandstone that used to be dunes) and remind me of Red Rock Canyon in Nevada, but there are also beautiful quartz that look glittery in the sun, obsidian (I think) that looks like black glass, and stones/ rocks that look like someone painted them layer by layer. Sooo many different types of trees and plants. Watch out for the cacti; they're everywhere to the sides of the trails and are no joke (even though they look small). Overall, pretty easy hike on any trail - but you need good shoes or it will get slippery in some spots. Kids could do some of the trails, maybe all - just depends on your kid's endurance and balance. Just the last mile or so can be tough and that was because it was an incline with deep sand... but you can probably exit off of the trail to the main road before that and go a different way. Highly recommend.
Charity W — Google review
The rocks and landscape are really unique, and you won’t regret a visit. Be sure to take the scenic drive and stop at the main overlook (P3). If you only have a few hours, you can also visit the Trading Post, Balanced Rock, and do the entire loop through the Central Garden Trail. You can add on additional trails to the main loop as well. Then, finish at the visitors center and grab a bite a the cafe (or bring you own picnic lunch). The entire park is free, but that means it can get very busy, just be patient and you can usually get a parking spot, and then enjoy taking in the natural beauty.
Tiffany W — Google review
Such a beautiful place to both drive around and walk trails. Very dog friendly. Some of the trails are paved while others are not. If you're visiting from out of state, definitely take a day to visit here. We saw so much wildlife here from various types of birds, sheep, and deer.

Cave of the Winds Mountain Park is a historic cave system discovered in 1880, featuring 10,765 feet of surveyed passages. The Discovery Tour provides an overview of its history and geology, showcasing unique formations like stalactites and stalagmites with intriguing names. This limestone cavern became a tourist attraction in the late 19th century after being explored by two brothers.
Beck’s was a good tour guide. Cave tour was full of groups and some waiting for others to pass. We came in a Sunday in October and it was packed. Got some good photos and videos of the cave. I wish there was a good lookout point to record the zip lining besides against a fence. Food is pricey to me so I did not get any. Nice place. Would come again
Spanky H — Google review
This was a fun and interesting experience, and our young kids (5 and 2.5) had a good time and enjoyed the tour. Our guide was pleasant, knowledgeable, and kept things light/fun. My only complaint is that the cave itself left something to be desired, because of how long it takes for stalagmites/stalactites to grow in that specific cave, they're all pretty small and there aren't many large, expansive areas, it just seemed small. We still had a great time and I hate to complain about something they can't control, just wanted to mention it. Still worth going, especially with kids. We did the mining activity at the end, and our kids loved "panning" for gemstones, they even found a few little chunks of fools gold! Oh, and there are great views from the balcony outside the gift shop.
Emily V — Google review
My family visited Cave of the Winds when I was a kid, so I thought it'd be nice to come back. It's smaller than I remember...but I've grown since then so yeah, it's not surprising. Our guide, Tracy, was an absolute joy to spend the hour with. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and I could tell he loves what he does. There were some young children (about the same age I was when I first visited) in our group and he was wonderful with them, teaching about the cave in a manner that kept them, and the adults interested. I'm glad I was able to come back and see the cave again.
Rose V — Google review
It was ok. Ive been to many caves in this country. This cave was... ok. The formations werent spectacular, they had some cool ones, but overall there wasn't a whole lot. They have a lot of other activities here to keep the kids interested. Its a cool place, lots to do and see. The cave was just a little underwhelming.
Jonathan W — Google review
We went on a haunted lantern tour of the caves with our guide Klaus & had the BEST time! The stories, guidance, humor and history lessons were top notch. Such a cool experience and an incredible way view the mountain on a different level. Highly recommend!
Ashley C — Google review
If you are in the area, nice toir. Guides are very knowledgable. Ours talked really fast, so some of it passed right by us...but she really knew the history! Luray Caverns is a bit cooler; but this is a nice diversion too
Cheryl B — Google review
Great place at the top of the mountains! We spent two hours just walking around and enjoying the views. The area offers kid-friendly activities and a food court, and the gift shop has a wide selection of souvenirs.
MsDarBay — Google review
Lots to do and see here at CotW! The cave tour is absolutely amazing, and the guide we had was excellent. Once you exit the tour you'll find plenty of other things to do. My whole family loved the powered zip line and the kids had a ton of fun on the ropes course. We were really bummed that the Terror-dactyl was down for maintenance, but that's okay, it was still a really fun experience. Views of the gorge are so great! There's even killer views from the parking lot. Really a must see if you're in the Manitou area.

History Museums
The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, housed in the restored 1903 El Paso County Courthouse, offers free admission to visitors. The museum showcases a wide range of exhibits, including art and Native American culture. It has received national awards for its exceptional displays featuring artifacts, photographs, and documents that narrate the history and culture of the area.
Such a wonderful experience. I brought my 9 and 4 year old here. Tom K. at the front desk was a pleasure and very helpful and kind. The kids loved it and it was very informative and educational for all of us. They have a children's room, a family room, and a dress up area where the kids can look at different clothes from the era. I can't believe it's free general admission. We spent a few hours here and will definitely come back.
Ellena A — Google review
I visited today and was captivated by all the history and culture surrounding Colorado Springs. The second floor is especially impressive, and the new exhibition on Native American history is a must-see. I also loved learning about the museum’s setting in a historic courthouse—it adds so much character. The staff were kind and friendly, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend visiting the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum!
Tatiana G — Google review
Beautiful and informative. Great place to learn about Colorado Springs history and see the city's historical architecture. It contains Colorado's oldest working elevator, a well preserved courtroom, and great artwork. I would easily spend over an hour here and highly recommend others to visit.
Adrian P — Google review
Im a Colorado native but haven't been here in a long time. Absolutely stunning interior! Great Colorado historic artifacts. Fun old elevator that still works! Cool exhibit for Women's art. Will go again!
Mary K — Google review
Hands down the most stunning historical museum I've ever seen. Housed in the original courthouse, there is a completely refurbished court room, which is incredible. There is a variety of artifacts and time periods displayed. There is intentional thought to including diverse groups and images.Amazingly, the museum is free! One suggestion would be to please increase the font size on your captions. It's too difficult to read, and in some cases, way too long.
Jodi D — Google review
Our visit to the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum was a surprise delight! The building is incredibly beautiful, and every single exhibit was interesting and thoughtfully-crafted. We only had an hour to spend during this visit, so we will return and plan to spend much more time soaking it all in.
Laura S — Google review
Very nice place to visit during some downtime. It is free to get in (just a donation which I gladly made). Learned quite a bit of history about the area. I did not expect to see Goose Gossage's Yankee helmet on display. I didn't know he was from there. Now I Do!
Brian M — Google review
Fun museum, it's free but please donate to keep it running. They have a fun kid play place along with a dress up room. You can see the old court room and the grand architecture style of earlier years. A nice way to kill an hour.

The Manitou Cliff Dwellings, originally situated near McElmo Canyon in Colorado, date back to 1200 and were relocated to Manitou Springs in 1907. These well-preserved cliff dwellings offer a fascinating look into the ancient past of the region, showcasing the ingenuity of the Ancestral Puebloans who once inhabited them.
Unfortunately we went when it was a flash flood, so it would probably be more enjoyable in nicer weather. However, I loved it! So interesting to learn about such a different time, and there’s so much history there. You buy tickets at the gate, and have access to the cliff dwellings/museum and cafe/gift shop. There’s also excellent views of the surrounding mountains.
Molly C — Google review
Informative. Dwellings are all in a single continous structure. The expedition (self guided) is a bit lackluster for me but an educational experience nonetheless. Great gift shop with an expansive assortment of items. Mountain views are phenomenal. A few images of the shop contents are definitely not all inclusive.
RN ( — Google review
We really enjoyed visiting this site. We had a few hours of free time and this was absolutely perfect. There wasn't any hiking or extreme elevation to get to the actual site, just park your vehicle and you are there. We were able to walk inside and the history of the Dwellings was well curated. The young man at the Tshirt sale area closest to the parking lot was a wealth of information on how the Dwellings were moved to preserve them in the late 1800's. It was her life's work and I am so grateful for her efforts in doing so for us to experience a bit of life for these indigenous people. If you have a little time take advantage of this exceptional experience. Beyond 5 ⭐s Dog friendly as well!!♥️
Michael C — Google review
This was my 2nd visit and it's still one of my favorite places to visit. It's very close to Garden of the Gods, so it's a great place to visit same-day. They have a nice gift shop. I love that you can walk around in the ruins and that they are immaculate. It's nice to see a historic location that is immaculately clean. It's cool to imagine people living there. There is a cafe on the property, but it was not open during our visit.
Jenn J — Google review
A fascinating and beautifully preserved piece of Colorado history! The Manitou Cliff Dwellings offer an incredible opportunity to step back in time and experience how the ancient Ancestral Puebloans once lived. The structures are stunning up close, and being able to walk through and explore them makes it feel truly immersive. The museum is well done, with lots of interesting exhibits and artifacts that bring the history to life. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer questions. The gift shop has a great selection of unique Native American crafts and souvenirs. Easy to get to, family-friendly, and a perfect blend of education and adventure. A must-see stop in the Manitou Springs area — five stars all the way!
Mike H — Google review
Visited the Manitou Cliff Dwellings with my child. The site is interesting for a quick look, but it’s quite small and doesn’t have much historical depth or interactive content. Kids might enjoy exploring the caves for a short while, but overall it feels a bit overpriced for what you get. Worth visiting once, but probably not something I’d go back to.
Prashant K — Google review
Interesting and photogenic stop near Colorado Springs. You can walk inside the reconstructed cliff dwellings and get hands-on with history, but it’s not an authentic ancient site. More educational exhibit than genuine archaeology—worth a visit if you go in with the right expectations.
Sean H — Google review
This is an honest review so don't judge me after you read this. As a place to visit and learn about a cultures history and their survival I found it to be quite a yawning experience. I say this because some of the plaques that provided information about the area you were standing in didn't seem to match what was written. The museum inside had some amazing artifacts and was far more interesting than the dwellings but again this is my review and you may find it exactly opposite. Would I recommend visiting this attraction...yes...simply because you can learn about the Pueblo people and how hard life was for them. Is one visit in a lifetime good..It is for me.

The Broadmoor Seven Falls is a stunning park in Colorado, known as the Grandest Mile of Scenery. It features a series of magnificent waterfalls, rising 1,250 feet between the towering Pillars of Hercules. The falls offer breathtaking views and opportunities to go behind them or climb challenging steps for stunning vistas. Accessible via shuttle bus from The Broadmoor hotel, it's an ideal spot for a morning excursion.
Beautiful scenery and well maintained. The waterfalls are worth seeing and some decent little hikes after. Be prepared for a lot of stairs. Got the quads burning but once again we'll worth it! We went on the weekend so the line for shuttle was long but they have a couple running so it wasn't to bad.
Brad S — Google review
Beautiful! I loved it! We did make the climb but took the elevator up to eagles nest and there was a cute shop at the top. Oh and if you see a white Hydroflask floating down the stream mine fell in. I recommend the bus ride in the driver was awesome and it runs ever 15 minutes. And it's Free! You can also take a golf cart up if needed. Great for those unable to make the walk up.
Lilfayj — Google review
This was my favorite thing we did on our vacation to Colorado Springs. We went to the parking area around 8:30-8:45 and got right on a shuttle. The walk up to the falls after getting dropped off by the shuttle was some of the most amazing scenery I've ever experienced. We are 56 year olds who do exercise regularly and we did fine with the steps up. Once up the steps, we thoroughly enjoyed the hiking. When we came back down there were a lot more people there so we recommend going early. We did not have to wait long for a return shuttle. Highly recommend this adventure!
Kristine S — Google review
Our first time seeing the beauty of this place. Be prepared to walk but the walk is full of breath taking views. Once you reach the falls you'll have a 224 step climb to to the top but it is well worth it when you get to the top. This is a must see in Colorado Springs. Well worth the $23 admission. I visited on an early fall morning as the sun was rising. To get to the falls, you will need to park at the Penrose Event Center and take the free shuttle ride to Seven Falls due to limited parking at the Falls. It's a 0.8 mile walk on a paved path to the falls from the entrance. There are many towering rocks and streams along the way. You can view the waterfalls by climbing up 224 very steep stairs or from the eagles nest viewing platform which can be accessed from an elevator. Well worth the visit!

Worth the wait and cost to get in! It was a beautiful walk through the gorge up to the waterfall with a pretty stream and mini waterfalls off to the side of the path. You have to take a shuttle there. It takes a while to get on the shuttle and then walk up to the falls so definelty plan a decent chunk of your day if not expect it to take most of your day, this for sure isn’t a quick trip in and out!

This was my favorite place we visited on our trip to Colorado Springs! The views on the walk to the falls were stunning as well as the falls themselves. Really loved taking the elevator up and seeing the falls from a different and spectacular pov, this really is a must do if you’re ever in the area you won’t regret it!

This place was beautiful Its a lot of walking and once you go up the stairs and back down my legs were killing me. If you are scared of heights definitely dont do it. I was up 7 stairs and got supper scared and had to cling on the rail If I dared to look up or down I got really bad vertigo. The water wasn't running as good as other people's photos. Must be the time of the year. We were the first people In the park so everything was closed but the only bathrooms are 1/3 of the way in Beautiful walk up it's a little hard in the knees and once you get to the top it's beautiful

Located in Colorado Springs, the Space Foundation Headquarters and Discovery Center is a top science and technology destination in the Pikes Peak region. It offers interactive STEAM education with diverse exhibits such as the Lockheed Martin Space Education Center, where visitors can engage with cutting-edge modeling software and program robotic land rovers for Martian terrain. The center also features the Northrop Grumman Science Center's Science on a Sphere, which projects real images of celestial bodies.
The place was absolutely wonderful. So interactive, caring staff, and really fun place. I cannot recommend it enough. We made buttons, alien headbands, there were drone races and practicing using a rover. So much fun for kids of all ages.

Drove an hour here for homeschool day and was a little disappointed. First, there was some confusion about pricing because many Facebook posts mentioned the event was free. The website says 1st child is $15, each additional child $12. I had to call to clarify and was told it would be $15 for each parent as well. $45 for a homeschooling family of three is a little steep, in my opinion, for what is offered here. We are a one-income family, perhaps they don't understand that I don't get paid to teach my child at home? We went because we had already made plans and my daughter was excited. The sphere talk was kind of cool and the workshop activity was fun. The gentleman running that was great. The various labs were mostly closed while we were there and had scheduled times they were supposed to be open but by that time, we'd already been there for almost three hours and didn't want to wait another hour for someone to open the labs but we did so we went around and did each of the independent exhibits which were ok, a little boring and didn't take up much time. We waited outside the drone lab at the scheduled time but no one showed up. We went to ask someone and a gentleman let us in and was trying to show us the drones but it was obvious he didn't know how to operate anything. He went to get someone else and a woman showed up and said the exhibit was closed because all the drones were charging, I think. It was hard to understand her because she had a mask on. We tried the 3-D printing lab and they were full so we did the exhibit again and then waited outside the rover lab until they opened. The rover lab was ok, the rover kept malfunctioning and the attendant had to keep walking onto the exhibit to fix it. The 3D printing pen lab was fun, the gentleman there was really friendly. All in all, I don't think we'll come back and I'm not sure I'd recommend this place. Definitely not a place you'd want to spend all day at and I don't think they should be charging parents $15 for entrance fee on homeschool day.

This place is a great place to learn. Everyone working here is very knowledgeable. They have lots of interesting exhibits. I learned a lot of new information.Driving the rovers was fun. Definitely a great place for kids! Loved the rocket trash cans.
Oqbah T — Google review
What a great place! We only had two hours to explore but could have spent much more time. Our kids especially enjoyed flying drones, walking on the moon, driving Mars rovers, and making their own 3D pen creation. The staff are helpful and engaging with the kids. When our daughter was upset that her 3D pen creation didn't look like anything and she couldn't figure it out, the staff member was so kind and helped her to feel better about what she had made. Such a lovely, kid friendly place.

I enjoyed this museum. It is definitely centered towards children but as an adult, I still enjoyed seeing the various artifacts and rockets. My favorite artifact was the bronze statue of Yuri Gagarin. It's not a museum you will spend a lot of time and and I was disappointed they canceled some of the presentation times.

College students with a valid student ID can get tickets for $7.50! This place is definitely catered towards the elementary school kid age. But there are some cool interactive exhibits for the adults also! The “harder” scavenger hunt was fun searching for the hidden Pop figurines! Definitely stop by the Science on a Sphere and the Mars Rover exhibits. It took us about 2 hours total to get through everything including both scavenger hunts. It’s a fun (and cheaper) way to spend a few hours on the weekend! Especially if you have younger kids.
Aliza B — Google review
Not only is this place cool for kids and adults to see, but the staff here are amazing. We have a dog we're training for service work, and we contacted the staff ahead of time to make sure it was okay for us to bring her. Not only were they receptive to it, but they also posted a welcome picture and educated the families that came in at the same time to not pet the dog, etc. They were wonderful. We had such a great time and really enjoyed our visit. We'd absolutely recommend the Discovery center to others, especially those with children.

What a beautiful museum. We ended up here to knock off a couple hours before dinner. My kids are just toddlers so they really didn't do too much except try to make a mess. However I did notice that my little girl really liked the scope with the slides. There was blocks to try and put together. All those neat displays of suits that have been worn by astronauts and what they're diets like was really cool. There was a very intriguing child in a suit and when I read the description it was a very close concept to the boy in the bubble. This particular suit kept kids with severe immune problems In A germ free Environment

Located in Colorado Springs, the Ghost Town Museum offers a glimpse into the early pioneer life and gold prospecting era of the mid-1800s. Visitors can explore historic structures, authentic stagecoaches, and thousands of artifacts that depict Colorado's Wild West history. The museum provides interactive activities for kids such as gold panning and trying out old-fashioned tools like butter churns and printing presses. It aims to preserve the state's rich history by bringing an old ghost town to life through its exhibits.
I took my family here who were visiting from out of town and we had a blast! It wasn't too expensive to get in and the staff working here are really nice and friendly. There are a lot of cool things to look at and interact with but make sure you bring quarters because a lot of the cute little machines require quarters to be used. It's a real blast to the past getting to see all the displays, they even have gold banning and an informational show playing. We had little ones with us so we didn't see too much of the show but from what I did see it is really good and interesting. I recommend this place to families looking for something fun to do in the springs! (Note: I didn't share all my pictures because I don't want to spoil the fun, you'll have to come by and see for yourself)

Still awesome! I came here all the time as a child. We always got sarsaparilla's while we toured the museum. I did this with my family and we had a great time. It's a great interactive museum. Very educational too. We panned for gold and found some nuggets that you can keep. The lady's in the gift shop were very friendly and awesome as well. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

This place is wonderful for both adults and kids. The kids will love the old stuff... The adults will want to learn more about it! It has a plethora of interesting things - blacksmithing materials from the late 1800's, early 1900s, the first washing machines, carriages, pharmacy, etc. It's too much to name. Just an immense amount of things from the late 1800s to early 1900s and it's all fascinating. Plus panning for gold outside and a really cool gift shop area.

This was some of the worst customer service we’ve had in Colorado so far. I looked this up before we went. I seen they closed at 5 and that it took around 30 to 45 minutes to go through so we stopped in. We were greeted by an older lady with short hair with an attitude. As we walked in the door at 3:50 she said are you here to go through the museum? We close at 5. Then huffed and puffed and acted as if we were killing her by being there and reluctantly sold us the tickets. We went in anyway, refusing to let her ruin it. Only to run into her at the bathroom with the same attitude. It’s 4:30 and we close at 5. We exited the museum and started shopping for souvenirs as she stared at us the whole time, when another gentleman walked in. He was greeted with an even worse attitude as she told him he could come back during normal business hours and that they’d be happy he was there while smirking and huffing. We then laid our stuff down we had planned to buy and walked out of the door as she followed and locked the door at 4:45 behind us. We get it, you close at 5 but there is a professional way to tell people without the attitude that says we don’t want you here. You shouldn’t be working in a museum if you don’t like tourists. As for the museum, it’s ok. A little overpriced. Would have been a lot better with informative staff that was happy to be there and genuinely interested in telling people about it.
Tia J — Google review
Fun, small museum with interesting history. Entry is 8$ per person. There’s old fashioned rooms to go in and look at how things used to be back in the day. Next, you can pan for real gold in a special area outside. Then, you can look at old furnished rooms (behind glass) with antiques & pieces of history including the bed of the 21st President. Lastly, there is a short film about Colorado Springs history. This place would be a great, short excursion if you are visiting Colorado Springs.
Grace G — Google review
This was a fun way to spend an hour! If you have kids with you who want to run through it, they'll likely be bored quickly. But if you stop, look in each building, and take time to appreciate what's been preserved, and are willing to have a little fun, it's a good time. For the cost, it's well worth the hour or so. The gift shop is fun to walk around and has touristy souvenirs even if you don't go through the museum. Bonus tip: Bring quarters. Much of the interactive stuff costs quarters to participate.
Sharan K — Google review
This is a really fun museum. They let you touch some of the stuff and they have real working old self playing pianos. You can gold pan and play old arcade type games. It's definetly fun for kids and worth the price of admission

The United States Air Force Academy, established in 1954, is a renowned institution that provides training to U.S. Air Force cadets and showcases various exhibits. Visitors can explore the grounds and drive through the campus to witness its architectural marvels, including the striking interdenominational chapel. Additionally, the academy offers an unparalleled view of Pikes Peak and features amenities such as VIP luxury fire pit suites and top-notch restaurants.
Visited the United States Air Force Academy in early August and was simply awestruck by the history, mission, character and quality of people who first organized the institution, all the graduates over time, and the proud character of the individuals attending the academy. Beautiful campus nestled in the north part of Colorado Springs, with plenty of space and neat, air-themed buildings. The chapel was under renovation/construction when we visited so we could not view it, but there are plenty of images and models around to get an idea of how beautiful and majestic the building is. We don't have any family members in the military, but we greatly appreciated the valuable opportunity to learn about this wonderful institution and the amazing work of the people associated with it. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

This is a very historic place. There are plenty of sites to see for a military retiree like myself. They have a full commissary and base exchange with many other shops and services. In passing some of the military members and cadets, they were all very, very polite. This is a very land expansive place as it's located in the prairies of Colorado, which makes it very beautiful.

We visited the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in hopes that our daughter will be attending next year. It is a highly respected institution that is known for producing some of the most dedicated and skilled military officers in the United States Air Force. With a focus on integrity, excellence, and service, the Academy prepares its students to meet the challenges of military service with honor and distinction. Beyond its academic and ethical rigor, the Air Force Academy also offers a vibrant and diverse community for its students. Cadets come from all walks of life, and the Academy prides itself on fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging. It would be a blessing to be a part of this prestigious academy.

We arrived at the Air Force Academy a couple of weeks ago. They closed down tours to the public in January of 2025. We were not allowed to go in, this is not posted anywhere on their website. Be aware that if you're not a veteran or active military you won't be allowed to take a tour. This would have been very helpful as we planned our trip, we were disappointed.

What an impressive place! Not just the beauty and the organization of it, but the respect for the academy and the respect for the service is present. The size of the grounds is immense, and we only stayed on the roads, not having time to go on any of the walking paths. Even though the chapel is currently closed, we still learned a lot through the visitor's center, and the video they showed was informative as well. Would have loved to have had more time here.

The National Museum of World War II Aviation, located near the Colorado Springs Airport, is a remarkable institution dedicated to showcasing the rich history of aviation during this pivotal era. It houses a vast collection of restored aircraft and artifacts from World War II, providing visitors with an immersive experience. The museum's strategic location in Colorado Springs, a city deeply connected to aviation history and home to the Air Force Academy, adds to its significance.
A great place to get a history lesson on WWII! Huge working selection of operating aircraft from WWII! The displays were great and love the way it gave you a chronological path through the war. Many artifacts from the war era and details of what was happening during that time. I could have spent much more time here and will probably return. A yearly membership would be well worth the cost for this museum. I’ll be back to see their air shows.

This was my first time going and it was very delightful. The employees at the front desk were polite, kind, and very nice. We chatted up a storm with them. They have general admission for 19$ per adult and 17$ per adult with a veterans discount. They have a free guided tour for the Westpac restoration. 100% recommend. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and tells the history so well he was such a delight. They also have the paid FULL guided tour. If you’re a history buff or like anything related to World War II I 100% recommend!!!!!!!!(coming from someone who doesn’t like history)

Amazing collection of WWII aircraft. Very well curated and interesting for all ages. Interesting to see the restoration shop working on the planes, Mark was an excellent tour guide. The kids really enjoyed the flight simulator. Scooter was provided for Grandpa. All of the volunteers were very kind and informative. I would recommend going online to checkout their schedule of flights as the entire collection is airworthy!

This museum was everything and more than I could have asked for. There is a lot of excellent information about WWII, the battles and the people who played a pivotal part in them, but the best part for me was the aircraft. The airplanes were amazing. All of them totally refurbished and in flying condition. My dad flew in WWII and told me about many of these planes. Seeing them in the museum made me feel like my dad was there with me. I will return to this amazing place and see what else they have brought back to life. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I came from Taiwan, I am truly filled with deep emotion and reflection here. I want to thank the U.S. Air Force for all the help they have provided to my compatriots, both in the past and up to the present. Thank you to the Flying Tigers, thank you to all the American soldiers who sacrificed their lives on the Asian battlefields, and thank you to all the selfless Americans. Thank you for the assistance the U.S. provided to Asian countries during World War II, and thank you to the volunteer docent, Mr. Roh, for his detailed explanation. Many of the things I saw at the museum brought tears to my eyes. Some I had seen before in textbooks, and some were entirely new to me. I immediately took photos and shared them to my friends. All Chinese-speaking people are aware of this history and are very familiar with it. My friends all chimed in, excitedly adding details and expressing their gratitude for me sharing today's experience I do not live in Colorado; this is my first time visiting, and it may very well be my last. However, I believe that in the future, other Chinese speakers will come here to express similar sentiments to mine.

We visited the museum as a family. There was so much information! The displays were engaging and interesting. My kids enjoyed looking at all the planes and artifacts. We enjoyed Matt (our docent for the Westpac tour) and all the stories and information he had to share. He was knowledgeable and interesting. We spent about 3 hours and I easily could have stayed longer if plans and kids would have allowed. We happened to be in town on a day they flew some of the planes which was really cool to see.

We really enjoyed this museum! We were there for 2hrs right until closing, but wish we would have had more time to look around. We did the guided tour through Westpac with Matt and learned about their restoration process and a lot of history about the planes. There’s a flight simulator which was entertaining to watch people do. All members and staff were incredibly nice and knowledgeable. It’s so cool that all the planes have been restored to flying condition!

A beautiful and thoroughly well-designed museum. All the planes on display were absolutely spectacular, and the many infographics were insightful and enjoyable to read. They also have a tour of the hangar where they show you in-progress plane restorations, and explain the processes they use which was quite fascinating. I would totally go back given the chance.

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, located in Colorado Springs, is a cutting-edge athletic complex catering to 14 different sports. As the flagship training center for Team USA athletes, it offers guided tours where visitors can witness current and aspiring Olympians and Paralympians in action. The facility also houses the Olympic Hall of Fame and serves as a hub for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee's efforts to support and empower American athletes.
Awesome place to visit where some of the world’s greatest athletes trained for the summer games over the years, including the Dream Team, Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, Kurt Angle, etc. Our tour was very detailed and led by a Paralympic medalist in shooting, who was a great guy and did a fantastic job giving the tour and answering questions. Also let everyone hold his medal and take pics. The only training centers we weren’t allowed to access was the medical/athletic training facility for obvious privacy reasons and the aquatics center because at one point some idiot decided to jump in the pool and ruined it for everyone. Highly recommended.

This was the second Olympic training facility we saw while on a cross country road trip in September 2024. We had a very informative tour guide that who took us around the campus showing the various training areas-weight room, swimming pool, gymnastics, shooting, etc. the tour lasted about an hour. If you are in the Colorado Springs area, be sure to visit this site.

Great experience! The tour was really interesting, and our guide was super nice and knowledgeable. It’s amazing to see where so many Olympic athletes that you’d recognize have trained! The tour is kept fairly short, and honestly, I wish it could be a bit longer—it’s that good. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Colorado Springs!
Phillip R — Google review
The self-guided visitor area is much smaller and less engaging than the incomparable museum a few miles away. Moreover, the "Meet the Athletes" touchscreens did not work at all. The highlight of the guided tour is seeing Olympic hopefuls train in the facility. So that said, tours held when no athletes are training would be underwhelming, essentially a walk through empty and seemingly dated facilities.

Very cool place no matter if you are really into the Olympics or not. Even if you don't take the tour of the front area of the main building Is free to roam. My friend and I arrived to the center at the start of a tornado warning. The center made sure everybody was safe by sheltering in place with good communication throughout, letting us know the status of the tours. He was very knowledgeable, entertaining and flexible. We even saw some Karate sessions! Highly recommend.

Very cool museum. We visit leadville every year for spring break and this was a nice add on this year! Very educational and loved the part where it seems like you’re walking through a mine! Wish the right side of the building was open, it was closed for renovations so i guess we’ll have a new part to explore next time!

10 stars! Panning for gold was so much fun. The Blacklight room showing the minerals and gemstones was the sprinkles on the sundae. The machines being started during the tour, OMG, any engineer would be over-the-moon. The gift shop was very affordable. Clean restrooms. I recommend stopping at this museum, it has a little bit of everything all in one location.

Showed up for STEM event and left a fan. This museum is not like any other mining museum i had been to. I working blacksmith and stamp mill was a pleasant touch. Flourscent Blacklight Mineral room is also a winner. Its an affordable and educational experience that is worth the value.

I really enjoyed this museum. Had a nice history of mining and old equipment used back in the day. They do briefly run some machines on the tours. The only disappointing thing was one of the tour guides was kind of a jerk to a little shy girl trying to ask a question. Should not volunteer if you can’t handle kids.

This is one of the best museums going for seeing how machines generally and old mining machines in particular worked. However, it is rigged to run on air, which makes things a bit less noisy and rambunctious. While you are waiting to see the machinery run, you can try your luck at panning and see how difficult it really was.

Rockledge Ranch is the most peaceful oasis in the city. Families can come visit the ranch at any time after hours or off season to see the farm animals and living history sites. It’s a great place for a picnic or easy walk in nature for people of all ages and abilities. During events and summer hours, the living history program offers hands-on learning opportunities so you can experience life in the late 1800s just as it was on this very same property. I often walk behind the ranch around sunset when I’m feeling down and undoubtedly leave refreshed. Rockledge Ranch is open to anyone for a variety of activities depending on the season and event schedule. Always wholesome, always family friendly, always the perfect getaway to reflect on years past.

Though a native of Colorado Springs, I had not visited here in a while, perhaps not since I was a small child, and I was quite impressed by how accessible the historic sites are. In the summer, there are living history demonstrations that showcase with exquisite detail and much eagerness certain periods from early Colorado history. These demonstrations are a large part of what draw visitors here, but the area is still extremely charming to walk around even off-season. Many of the monoliths of Garden of the Gods are visible from here, with significantly fewer crowds. When the sun shines brightly on the meadow and the wind rasps softly through the high grass, the buildings look absolutely enchanting. There is an array of farm animals here that will please children, and anecdotally, I heard a line of children chanting "an-i-mals" as they were walking toward the sheep. I personally adored the old masonry walls still present and ruined form and thoughtfully restored, as well as the example of a beautiful Spanish revival style Edwardian estate. There's something for everyone here, and I was fortunate enough to come when they were setting up for the 4th of July, and everywhere was festooned with patriotic banners.

Beautiful, expansive place to visit. Attended with the whole family (ages 5 to 75) and we all had a blast. Easy free parking, and reasonably priced tickets for the event (an old-timely homestead tour and baseball game). Chill vibes, clean, well cared for place. Seems accessible if that’s needed, except inside the homesteads. This place is highly recommended.

What a nice way to spend the 4th of July! I really enjoyed the outfits and the history. It was so sweet watching all the little kids enjoy the 4th. I felt like that's how it should be, not just fireworks!! Good food, pie and lemonade!!

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum in downtown Colorado Springs offers a gold-medal experience for visitors of all ages. The 60,000-square-foot museum features immersive sport exhibits and simulators where visitors can race virtual Olympians on a rubber track, try their hand at skeleton bobsledding, and play hands-on archery, skiing, and goalball games. The museum seamlessly combines Olympic and Paralympic history with displays of uniforms, equipment, and medals.
We went as part of the festival. It was very helpful to reserve tickets ahead of time. It was incredible to see the medals, the torches, the pieces of equipment and pictures, and the Hall of Fame. The interactive displays were entertaining and offered a variety of skill level options. There were inspiring quotes and videos, I would recommend this to anyone who loves the Olympics and Paralympics.

Absolutely amazing and super informative and educational. I thought they had such a neat system where you can scan your badge and save different facts and slideshows to your account and send them to your email. You can customize your experience depending on what sports you're interested in or just stroll throughout all the exhibits. They have a mass amount of artifacts as well as some demonstration exhibits. I like that they have different accessibility options such as sign language videos in the corner of most displays on screen. The plaques that explain the exhibits or the artifacts are a little small in type but overall very explanatory. You will definitely get a good amount of exercise walking around the multiple floors. It is wheelchair accessible. They have a very cute gift shop with very reasonable prices and not marked up like I've seen a lot of other places try to do. I also stopped by the cafe afterwards and notice they had a good assortment of different type of Cuisines to demonstrate the international aspect and the pricing seemed really good. It had great few of the train tracks next door. I don't know that small children would be as excited or intrigued since they wouldn't really know what was going on since it is a little more involved and the athletes and Exhibits that they explained span back several decades.

One of the most thoughtfully designed museums I’ve ever been inside. It is many orders of magnitude better than the “official” Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. For an Olympics/Paralympics fan, this has everything — a complete set of Olympic torches, lots of medals and photos, and interactive exhibits which measure your Olympic-related skills like running and archery. To make it more convenient, the Museum sends an email resume of how you did in each (so don’t put a false email when you begin your tour). Furthermore, this museum starts on an upper floor and winds downward in a spiral. As a visitor you have a clear path to follow to see everything without wasting effort. Museum staff are knowledgable and enthusiastic. A perfect museum, and worth a drive or a flight to visit.

This was a fantastic museum! The front desk person, Jon, made the experience so special! Would highly recommend a visit. Definitely have a volunteer or staff person explain the significance of the architectural details because they help tell the story.

This was an amazing experience. You definitely need more than two hours to go through the entire museum. The entire facility was immaculate and clean. The UCHealth hand sanitizer stations are everywhere because there are many interactive displays and exhibits. Very family and kid friendly. I will definitely come back when I have more time.
Robert E — Google review
Amazing experience, well worth the stop to relive history and some of the greatest athletes. The movie is spectacular, some fun interactive exhibits. The attached flame restaurant is so-so
Mark M — Google review
Amazing place to visit. Bring the kids and big kids too. Great history of the Olympics and Paraolympics, including interactive displays that teach. Anyone who is interested in the Olympics will love this museum.
Rick B — Google review
This museum suffers from enormous Tech Debt. It seems relatively new, but already most of the Interactive features, primarily the audio commentary and the sports simulators, are either not functioning or poorly designed. Interactive badge for personalized experience is needlessly complicated and exclusionary of children. Why aren't kids permitted to have their own profiles? Why make them glom on to their parents profile? When parent activates an interactive display for their kid and moves more than half a step away, it cancels the in-progress session for the kid! After this happened twice we gave up on the interactive elements. The interactive kids museum in my city of San Antonio manages the interactive/profile based experience in a much better way. Without the functioning audio and frustrating interactive elements, I felt like we only got the barest minimum that could have been delivered with this experience. I wanted to see larger and more in depth exhibits about the Miracle on Ice, Jesse Owens at the Berlin Games, and maybe features on heroes of our gymnastics, swimming, and skiing programs. Show me what it is like to train, give me some multimedia about what kind of personal and financial sacrifices are made by olympians. While the exhibit and walk through design needs to be re-worked, at least the collections are impressive, like the assortment of torches, the Miracle on Ice scoreboard, and the collection of medals were very memorable. They need to simplify this experience so that it works for everyone. Less problematic interactivity, more passive multimedia. The stories, audio, and visuals are the real treasure here, don't obfuscate it behind a bunch of clunky, non-working, slooooow interactivity.

My son had the BEST time at this play space!!! Definitely worth the $ for a fully entertained toddler. The best part was that they gave us a token to get a snack on the way out. So when it was time to leave, it was announced to be snack time and we went to pick out our snack. GENIUS for no tantrums because my son would not have left playing in the kitchen otherwise!!! Definitely check this place out if you have a young child. We’ll be back the next time we’re visiting Colorado Springs!

We had an amazing time here. PLENTY of space for my daughter’s fourth birthday party. I did pay for the kiddos to do the slime and I high recommend that as well! They all ran around, had fun, got energy out and had delicious cake/cupcake after the slime. The staff was attentive, kind and interactive with the kids. This is THE place to have your toddlers birthday party!!!

My daughter and I love coming here. This place is perfect for kids, even my 15 month old who isn’t waking yet. There is so much for her to do, always looking around the corner for the next thing. The staff is so sweet and helpful. It’s totally worth the price. It’s clean and well kept.

My kiddos always love to come here and play with others and just explore their imagination and in my mom words, “get their zoomies out”. We love to come here especially on cold and gross days when playing outside isn’t optional. Definitely recommend this establishment to any parents looking to take their kids to experience something fun

I've taken my toddler (under 2) for a regular play date and he loved it. We ended up having his birthday there and the kids invited had ages ranging from newborn to 16 years. While it was a stretch of a place for the older kids they were able to have plenty of space to interact with the younger kids. I appreciate the ladies help and assurance in helping me out as I ran around. I would plan on booking another event there and quite a few of the parents that attended the party were asking me the process in booking the place.

Video arcade
Manitou Springs Penny Arcade is a nostalgic gaming haven in Colorado, featuring a vast collection of arcade games spanning from vintage pinball machines to modern video games. It's an ideal family-friendly destination where kids can enjoy hours of entertainment at minimal costs. The arcade doubles as a museum, showcasing gaming history with machines dating back to the early 1930s or even earlier.
Such a fun place to go and play around for a couple hours or take the kids as well. If you have a machine that swallows your money and doesn’t do anything make sure you tell an attendant they are very helpful. We really enjoyed it, especially using our pennies, nickels and dimes on some of the older more random machines in the back of one of the largest buildings.

Easily the best place in Manitou. Perfect for a first date. So many things to do plenty of games great atmosphere. Would have loved to be here back when this was in its heyday. Staff is very frequently and everything is extremely cheap, which is pretty impressive considering it's location. This is a absolute must visit for anyone.

A must stop when visiting Manitou Springs. Fun for kids and adults. Stop at the Burger Bar next door, very large selection to choose from on thier menu, but also try the cannon balls, yum! Enjoy a stroll next to the river while shopping on main street. Fun day!
Amber F — Google review
Very fun and large retro arcade that included carnival games as well, they had some games that were 100 years old! The horse race was my favorite. It would be cool if they placed all the games that were super old or out of order in their own little building with informational materials so you could learn more of their history while at the same time it would keep the other buildings a little less crowded. This is a must stop attraction when you are in Manitou Springs!
Ernesto C — Google review
Always a great place to take the kids. From very new arcade games alllllll the way to the early years of arcade! Super nostalgic and they do a wonderful job of keeping it that way as well as keeping the cost low. Most games are $.25. The newer ones are $1. There are the old original museum playable ones as well for $.05 - $.10!!! 9 different buildings with a wide variety of arcade.
Michael D — Google review
I’ve been visiting the Penny Arcade in Manitou Springs quite often since I was a kid, and I’ve always enjoyed the eclectic collection of coin operated games and machines available! A recent change in ownership has lead to an overall tidier appearance of the areas the machines are in and several older machines have been serviced, brought out of storage, and swapped with other games. While it is disappointing to see many games out of order, I understand that keeping these machines running well as they are supposed to is no easy task. I hope that with the new ownership some of the other worse for wear games get the love and attention they deserve and whatever new games that are added are interesting, entertaining, and do as well as the majority of what is there. Hopefully the changes are small and good! This place is dear to my heart and I’m glad it’s sticking around even under new ownership!
Josh C — Google review
Great concept but like a third of the machines were either out of order and multiple machines took our money. It is a great concept though. The games that did work were great. We may have just gone on a bad weekend.
Paige C — Google review
From an adult's viewpoint, the Penny Arcade is a fun, nostalgic place to spend an hour or two but I might have expected it to be better maintained. A lot of the games were out of order. Some were marked as out of order, but we lost money on several others that were not marked. I read the company is under new ownership and hope they will raise their standards before the place gets any worse. Just to clarify, the name "Penny Arcade" has some historical origin, but don't expect to find games that you can play for a penny. Most appeared to be 25 or 50 cents. Still a good deal, but manage your expectations. There are a lot of small shops and restaurants nearby. A walk around town is worthwhile.

Definitely a hidden gem that mostly local enjoy. Love the variety of trails and overall quiet if the place. Views of Garden of the Gods are stunning from this perspective. Really loved the well marked paths and friendly folks we Met along the way. Several options for bikes and dogs are there as well.

This is a great space with multiple trails from easy to more difficult. It is really close to the city yet feels far away once you move out from the parking lots. I did a loop using different trails including the one that goes through on old quarry. The views are amazing. Definitely recommend. Just remember the altitude and the fact that there is limited shade.
Paul J — Google review
Great loop hike on fairly wide and established trails. If you are going clockwise and choose to take the shortcut through the middle of the rocks, there is a spot where it looks like there is a sheer rock face you have to go up - the stairs carved in the rock are behind the nearby trees on the left side. This is right after the option of taking the rock carved stairs straight up or the trail around to the left. We went on a weekend and there were lots of people walking their dogs, hiking and biking. They have really nice mountain bike only areas that help to keep them more separate from the hikers, and they have a little course at the bottom near the parking lot with hills and wooden platform jumps and ramps.

Absolutely Gorgeous walking space. Parking is free and easily accessible. The grade of the trail never really gets too steep and is a loop, so getting lost isn't easy. There is plenty of signage and even more scenery! Highly recommend! Bonus Activities: I haven't tried climbing here but there are some good looking routes if you're into that. There is also an off leash fenced dog pen that looks spacious. As an added bonus, there is a bike course, both mountain and BMX.

What a spot! Something here for all outdoors folks. Hiking, climbing, mountain biking. Hikes can be miles long or shorter loops. Awesome biking park and dog park. They updated the parking in recent years which is a good improvement. Awesome views of the mountains and Garden of the Gods. Also one of the few places to see water ‘round these parts.

Enjoyed these trails which offer a variety of difficulty levels, walking surfaces and scenery. Parked on Highway 24/Cimarron St. We combined the moderate (blue) trails to make a loop. Sand Canyon to Contemplative (loved this one) to Roundup to Red Rock Canyon Path. This included some steps on rock and steps cut into rock, some sandy trails, great views of the red rock and views of the distance. Loved this location and would return to try other trails here.

The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway is a historic railway that has been offering scenic train rides to the top of Pikes Peak since 1891. Located near downtown Manitou Springs, this beloved attraction takes visitors on a journey through eight different life zones in brand-new railcars. The nine-mile trip reaches over 14,000 feet above sea level, providing breathtaking views of Ruxton Creek, Englemann Canyon, and Deer Park.
The Cog Railway was a fun family experience for us. I have personally hiked, biked, and driven on Pikes Peak over the years, so it was exciting to finally take the train! Amazing views, an informative and humorous guide, clear instructions on timing to board and return, kept everything right on time. Lots of wildlife around like marmots, big horn sheep and deer. It was unfortunately a bit cloudy at the top the day we visited, but on the train the views were great! Reasonable prices. Time at the top is limited so I would recommend doing the gift shop at the base instead of the summit.

The Cog Railway station in Manitou Springs is the perfect start to an unforgettable adventure up to Pikes Peak! The station itself is charming and easy to navigate, but what really stood out was how friendly and welcoming the staff were. From check-in to boarding, everyone went out of their way to make sure the experience was smooth and enjoyable. Riding the Cog train is such a cool and unique way to see Pikes Peak — relaxing, scenic, and absolutely breathtaking as you climb to the summit. You can sit back, enjoy the views, and learn a little about the history of this iconic mountain along the way. If you’re planning a trip to Colorado, the Manitou Springs Cog Railway is a must-do experience. It’s not just transportation, it’s part of the adventure! 🚂🌄

The train ride was absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend doing the conductor package. It is awesome riding in the very front on the way up however, on the way back, you are facing backwards, looking out the window, which makes it even cooler cause you get to see everything in both directions, not looking at any other people so again highly recommend the conductor package, absolutely stunning views the wildlife, and the donuts at the top if you got

This was the best 1st mountain train ride I have ever had!! I am glad I went, I was so mind-blown 🤯by the amazing views, I was just in awe. It was my 1st time in Colorado, it was a memorable experience!

Supper cold on the train take your own blanket. They don't have heaters on the train I was so cold it was uncomfortable. if you do take snacks you cant eat them on the ride up but once you get to the top and get off the u can eat them. The visitors center at the top has nasty pizza and hot dogs and cheap nachos but the doughnuts were ok. Everything is expensive. Beautiful views best views on the left handside of the train. Take water I only walked from the train to the visitors center and my heart was beating out of my chest and I had a headache. You will get sleepy on the way down.
Anabel H — Google review
Riding the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak was breathtaking. Literally. My family of 4 enjoyed this ride! We booked the 2 seat side which was great but we would have loved the views more from the 3 seat side. Now I know for next time! The ride up was enjoyable & we enjoyed listening to all the fun facts & history on the way up! We almost got 1 of everything at the visitors center & Sat down & ate quickly. Walked even quicker through the gift shop as it was slightly pricy & enjoyed the rest of the time outside taking in the incredible views! This was truly a unique experience & would 100% recommend it for any age! We chose as early ride & enjoyed Manitou Springs the rest of the day!

This place is incredible. As much as I workout, I just knew I could adapt to the elevation at the top, but I was wrong. Being at the top was tough. We were only there for about an hour but that is plenty of time to go to the bathroom, get a donut, take pics, and get back on board. The views are breathtaking! Bring water and a jacket because you will need both! Fun critters to see along the way too.

Such a fun ride & absolutely gorgeous! Went at the end of September & the trees were just lovely. The ride took maybe an hour & the conductor had all kinds of fun facts, history, & funny puns the whole way. The train was full, so definitely plan ahead. And the top! How cool! The views are stunning! Get a donut - so worth it.

The museum boasts a diverse array of exhibits, including 31 horse-drawn carriages, 13 motorized vehicles such as vintage race cars and Mrs. Penrose's Cadillac limousine from 1928.
Super awsome place to visit they have a very cool collection of old carriages and race cars both old and new that have taken part in the pikes peak hill climb. The staff the had on hand the times we have visited are always friendly and willing to answer questions if you have any. From historic carriages and vintage automobiles to the incredible story of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, every corner of the museum offers something unique and engaging. The attention to detail is impressive, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. Best of all it’s free admission, making it a perfect stop for families, history buffs, and anyone looking to learn more about the legacy of Spencer and Julie Penrose.

Definitely recommend if you enjoy automotive racing. Great displays about the pikes peak hill climb. There is a wide verity of carriages. Some of the history involving Spencer and Julie Penrose. As well as some items they had collected over the years. There are also TVs scattered around, with videos about some of the history playing. It was not very crowded when I went, so I was taking my time and moving at my own pace, took me about an hour or so to see/read everything. I am happy I decided to swing by during some down time.

Beautifully staged museum...with two different focuses. One was the collection of the Penrose family carriages and other riding gear. Everything from big fancy full sized carriages to small donkey (or llama!) carts. All beautifully preserved and displayed. The other focus was the history of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb race... something that had been run every year (except during the world wars) for over 100 years! Displayed are cars and motorcycles that have participated in the race over the decades. There is also a really good video to watch that really takes you through race's history. Even if you are not interested in racing, there are some very interesting characters and episodes that really bring the race to life. While the museum isn't very large, you can spend several hours there...especially if you take in the video.

Nestled in Rock Creek Park, Colorado, the May Natural History Museum is a captivating entomology museum showcasing an impressive private collection of over 7,000 tropical insects and spiders. Founded by John May in 1952 to honor his father's legacy as a passionate collector, this roadside attraction offers a unique glimpse into the world of rare and exotic insects gathered from around the globe. Visitors can marvel at the extensive displays featuring specimens that James May meticulously collected during his lifetime.
This place is amazing! If you are in the area,tl This place is worth checking out. It's so cool even Walt Disney himself wanted to buy this collection of insects for his theme parks. They have many beautiful bugs from all around the world. Some of the collections are so old the date back to the early 1900's. Coolest display of bugs I have ever seen! The collection of beatles is exquisite. Every bug is unique. They even have a preserved fruit bat! Nice friendly ladies and a neat gift shop at the end of the tour.

Really cool to see all of these things bugs, some of which are over 100 years old! A good mix of pretty and horrifying. You'll see stick bugs bigger than your head that made me cringe, and then in the next case we're beautiful iridescent butterflies that help me recover from the creepy crawlies! Not super little kid friendly, my 2yo didn't have a great time but he isn't the target audience so that makes sense.

This was such a unique & incredible opportunity to see! Our group was so impressed by the vast amount of specimens available for viewing. Some of which were extremely rare, even in the wild. My husband and I visited this museum five + years ago and came back again as a family birthday celebration for our six year old. He was absolutely enamored by the bugs and history of the etymologist who collected these bugs. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the insects again as adults, too. It’s truly such a special piece of history - the largest private collection of insects anywhere in the world. Dates label each bug when it was collected. Amazing to think back to what was going on in history with each bug collected. Highly recommend for families! CityROCK is a cavernous rock climbing gym that stands at 43 feet, making it the tallest climbing gym in the state. It offers gear for rent or purchase and has friendly staff available to assist newcomers to climbing. The facility welcomes supervised kids and features a special kid-friendly space with climbing, a zipline, and a slide.
We love coming to City Rock with our 3-year-old! He’s especially a fan of the Aerie and the auto belay system, which keeps him excited and engaged. While the main climbing area isn’t super kid-friendly when it gets busy, it’s still a fun experience for the whole family. The people here are generally kind, and the staff do a good job working with kids most of the time. It’s definitely a great place to introduce little ones to climbing and enjoy some active family time. Looking forward to many more visits!

We had the best time at Member Appreciation Night. This is worth membership alone. The gym has heart. We meet so many nice and interesting people. The staff is amazing, nice, very professional with expertise and experience. The gym is full featured and amazingly fun and motivating. Mostly, kudos to the management and staff. They make this place awesome. This is in unsolicited member review that is absolutely enjoying this climbing gym experience.

We were visiting the area and we looking for something to do on a rainy day. This place was great. The gentleman with long hair who took care of us was very patient dealing with parents coming with a toddler having a tantrum. He was trying to find solutions to make it work and it did. They have a large space with many routes. The bouldering space is fairly large. Clean and everything in good condition. They have a small gym area. Highly recommend.

We had my son's 8th birthday party this past weekend and it was AMAZING!!! The staff was great, everyone was friendly and wonderful with the kids, the party room is nice and we were able to bring in all our own food and drinks. The staff helped decorate and got all the kids fitted for shoes and harnesses in a timely manner. The kids climbed on the starter walls first and then got to go into the big gym with the SUPER TALL WALLS! They LOVED it! Then we had plenty of time for pizza, cupcakes, and gifts without feeling rushed. After the food and gifts the kids got to go into The Cave, and while there was a little incident with a bloody nose while in the cave, the staff handled it well and all the kids had an amazing time. I highly recommend it for a fun and unique kids birthday party! Thank you to ALL the staff at City Rock for an unforgettable time! <3

One of the coolest places to take my kids in thr Springs. Younger kids (6 and under) will love the Aerie playground. There is a huge selection of auto-belays for newer climbers or those who don't want to take thr time to get trained by the staff on top-rope. The staff is awesome, friendly; and easy going. My 6byear old and 12 year old boys both said it was some of the most fun they've had. I hadn't climbed in years and I'm hooked again. The 10 punch pass is the way to go, unless you plan to get a membership.

Very inviting, especially for new comers. Friendly staff were very helpful. This was the first indoor rock climbing facility I've been to and I was blown away with how tall the some of the wall were.

My wife and I joined this gym recently and we've been blown away by everything at CityROCK in the best possible way! Everyone is friendly and super stoked, the place is MASSIVE, they have auto-belay walls for different skill levels, bouldering areas, and top rope galore. From beginner to expert, this place is a paradise in the middle of downtown. We're brand new to indoor climbing and wanted a fun new activity to pursue. 5 stars in every way. This place rules!

The Flying W Ranch Chuckwagon Suppers and Original Western Stage Show in Colorado Springs offers a taste of the Old West with its chuckwagon dinners and lively western stage performances by the Flying W Wranglers. In addition to these main attractions, visitors can enjoy Native American Dancing exhibitions, cattle roping demonstrations, horseback riding, hiking trails, axe-throwing competitions, horseshoeing demonstrations, and rides on the Russell M. Wolfe Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Our family had the best time at Flying W Ranch! I definitely recommend getting there early, there’s so much to enjoy! Cast iron campfire cornbread, so many animals, a carriage ride, train ride, short hike with spectacular views, see the original recipe library and a fun store. The food was served fast and was so delicious, and there was plenty for seconds. The staff is all so helpful, joyful and kept the kids and me laughing. To top it all off, the band was spectacular- entertaining family friendly jokes, incredible instrumentation and 5 part harmonies. Excited to make this part of our usual vacation fair whenever we’re out in Colorado!

Absolutely loved our perfect evening at the Flying W Ranch. We enjoyed all the activities they have before sitting down for dinner. The food was delicious. The show was really good! We just recently moved to CO. This was a great welcome to CO! Tickets are a bit expensive. But I felt like it was totally worth it.

What a great time! Highly recommend experiencing this beautiful place. They were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. Great food and atmosphere. The Flying W Wranglers are a must see. Wow!! Such beautiful voices and true to the old west. Loved every minute. Hoping to visit at Christmas time!

Absolutely fantastic venue for an outdoor event with all of our colleagues! We appreciate that they had traditional bull riding and wrangling. All the staff here were friendly and accommodating. It was amazing how they were able to serve about 500 people in less than 20 minutes. Our food was fantastic, the beef brisket was smoked to perfection and the baked beans were awesome. We loved the traditional live western music with the flying W band and we were able to do some line dancing and country music after the western music show..

We went to our first show this evening. Let me just say...amazing! Our family had such a wonderful time and it was well worth the price. The property is absolutely beautiful and the activities are very enjoyable. It is definitely family friendly. It was refreshing to see them portray God, family and country. Food was great and they got everyone through the line quickly. The entertainment was on point! Classic western music...we will definitely be coming back for the Christmas show. Thank you all for the wonderful experience **the only minor issue I had was the young lady who was doing the checkout at the merchandise counter was not very friendly and just came across like she had an attitude or didnt want to be there (maybe she was having a bad day)..BUT still is well deserving of 5 stars**

I have lived in the Springs for 8 years and had never been here but my family was visiting from Minnesota so decided to bring them here on the last night of the trip. Amazing. The facilities, the animals, the music, the food, the efficiency, the kindness/friendliness of all the staff and musicians. Really one of the most wholesome, beautiful experiences you could have with your family. Worth every penny.

Hands down one of the best things we did while in Colorado! We were worried about going on opening day but everything was absolutely perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! My son and I attended a children's nature class & hike here and it was wonderful 🌲❤️ The staff were sweet and understanding with my son and he had a wonderful time exploring the nature center and taking in the calming nature. He especially loved the little river that runs next to one of the trails 🌊 Very child-friendly and a great family activity if you're looking for something to do near the area! Educational and immersive experience for the kiddos 🤗

I found this place while trying to escape the buzz of the city. We were visiting on the weekend, so I figured it would be busy everywhere. This place was such a pleasant surprise. I loved the bees, and the sweet ladies working there were very informative. The trout was very cool! They used to have more, but they fought and were very territorial. We hiked a trail and found some of the MTB trails. I wish I had brought my bike! You must go! Very family-friendly and off the beaten path!

Came here today to go on a hike, I didn't know what to expect, but it was better than I thought. To start, there is a building where you can look at all the interesting facts about the nature center, which was a pretty cool thing to see. Then, there's also a ton of hiking trails and loops you can do, I got some great views of the mountains and nature. And there's tons of trails to explore. Overall, I recommend going to the Bear Creek Nature Center.

Very well kept... few benches around to sit and enjoy moments

One of our favorite places in Springs! Lots of easy trails for kids to hike. There is a creek that winds through that is accessible from many many areas . summer and fall are my favorite times to go because of all the beautiful trees and flowers. During the fall time the leaves are stunning! It’s very well kept - I’ve never seen trash or dog poop on the trails. My favorite area is the curved path where the bench is at (the fall picture below). There is a small bridge over the creek and then this cute little bench. Love it! Wonderful place to spend the day or an afternoon!

My friend, our daughters and I came here for an interactive nature class and we all absolutely loved it. There was story telling, a short hike, and crafting - all of which was fun for our kiddos! The instructor was incredibly patient, kind, and gentle with the children and I’d love to come back.

Acacia Park, located in Colorado Springs, is a charming community green space offering various amenities such as picnic tables, a playground, horseshoe pits, and walking paths. One of its main attractions is the Uncle Wilbur Fountain, which features an entertaining display with music and water spouts that delight kids and visitors during the summer. The park also boasts over 200 pop-up jets that create a children's play area within the fountain.
Wonderfully updated large playground that encourages a lot of interaction from children, or allows them to lay on and rest or read a book. There is also a large splash pad nearby. There are several picnic tables and benches located around the park, or grab a spot on the beautiful green grass. There are also a number of restaurants and quick bite establisments across the street as well as within a block or two of the park. Public, automated, touchless, single person bathrooms with a touchless handwashing sink in each.

Good park, few homeless people hanging around. Nice playground for kids, water park. They have an ice skating rink in the winter. Scooter rentals nearby. Overall a good park, just depends on the sketchy people that are around. Sometimes they are there, sometimes they are not.

Great downtown park- there is usually at least one or two homeless persons there camping out. Only negative is I wish there was a little fence around children’s area since cars are so near. More street meter parking, see cost/hrs in photos. Park hrs also in photos.

This is just a little downtown park but it's pretty nice. Plenty of places to stretch out under the trees in the grass. There is a very large area with playground stuff for kids and they seem to love it. There are plenty of little coffee shops and restaurants all around Acacia Park and downtown shopping-well it's right there. You will see homeless people from time to time congregating there.

This is an outstanding downtown park! They have everything you could want: an amazing playground, climbing hills, a splash pad, a picnic area, and a ton of space for kids to run, kick a soccer ball, play tag, etc. The playground in particular is exceptional. It's a massive, multi-level infinity sign with an epic amount of options that require climbing, balance, strength, & imagination. These are the types of playgrounds kids need because of how great they are for everything from strength & balance, to executive functioning, problem-solving, etc. I also love that there are tons of great restaurants surrounding the park.

The Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center is a must-visit destination in Colorado Springs, just six miles northwest of the city. This National Natural Landmark boasts ancient red sandstone formations that date back nearly 300 million years, creating a stunning and unique landscape. The park offers various outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding amidst breathtaking scenery. At the visitor center, you can explore educational exhibits and enjoy panoramic views while planning your adventure through this captivating natural wonder.
Visited the Visitor Center on Sunday 7/20. Was down in the Springs and decided to check out Garden of the Gods when the sky made other plans. As I love museums, we decided to check out the Center and it was pretty cool. A little crowded due to the weather. The exhibits were informative, the cafe smelled tasty, and the gift shop had some nifty gifts. Prices were about what you'd expect from a tourist destination. The views were beautiful. We will definitely be going back.

Garden of the Gods is absolutely stunning! This natural park not only showcases breathtaking rock formations but also features a small exhibition highlighting the native species and history of the area. There are plenty of activities to enjoy—you can rent a bike, take a guided jeep tour, or ride the trolley. I recommend downloading the park map in advance so you can plan which trails to explore. Walking here is very comfortable since most of the trails are paved, and every path offers incredible views. Parking is available in several areas, and you’ll find public restrooms conveniently located throughout the park. In my opinion, this is the most iconic and must-see spot in Colorado Springs.
Tatiana G — Google review
Friendly staff at the front, and the Visitor Center itself is nice. There’s a free museum inside and a free shuttle to the main areas (we didn’t use it). We did the $24 per person 4-row jeep tour—totally worth it. Great views, and the driver was friendly and gave us good tips on where to hike after. Downside: my husband got stung by a bee. We went to first aid and were basically told, “yeah, that’s a yellow jacket,” and handed a band-aid. No ice, no real help. Kind of a letdown in an otherwise solid visit. Overall, still a cool place to start your day at the park, just wish first aid was more helpful.

Title: Unbeatable Views and Excellent Access! The Garden of the Gods Visitor Center truly delivers the most breathtaking panoramic views of the park. Even from the parking area, as shown in the photos, you are immediately immersed in the stunning landscape. The view of the red rock formations is perfectly framed by the Visitor Center's location, offering clear, unobstructed sightlines to iconic landmarks like the Kissing Camels and, beyond that, the majestic snow-capped Pikes Peak dominating the skyline. The natural beauty here is overwhelming, especially under the clear blue sky captured in these shots. The facility appears clean, accessible (note the designated parking!), and serves as the perfect jumping-off point for any visit. The trails and viewing areas look well-maintained and are clearly designed to maximize the viewing experience. It's the ideal spot to start your trip, grab a map, and simply soak in the sheer geological wonder of Colorado Springs. A must-visit stop before you even step foot on the main trails!

Awesome trails and view of the mountains. Can see a bunch of wildlife as well. The Visitor Center has exhibits and some shops. Great for families. It can get busy driving especially on the weekends. Otherwise definitely worth the views.

The Garden of the God's Visitor Center is a good first stop when entering the park. The Center has exhibits, clean restrooms, a large gift shop, cafe, and fabulous staff and volunteers. There is also a theater showing a short film regarding the evolution of the park over time. The park and visitor center are free, although there are donation kiosks available to support the park. You will need to purchase tickets for the film at a kiosk. We stopped at the information desk for guidance on how best to spend our time at the park. The Volunteer discussed various trails and lengths so we could plan our morning at the park. We were amazed that Garden of the God's is a city park. The facilities, trails, roads, and signs were all well designed and maintained.
Dawn J — Google review
Its set at a good location to get introduced to the park, easy walk down as well. Can't beat free as well. I didnt partake in the cafe but the souvenir shop has an abundance of stuff to buy plus excursions in the park. The museum is fun and informative, I appreciate the link to native tribes. Next visit I will catch the movie.

00000000000! ⭐️ Without a doubt, this place, definitely needs some attention in the cleanliness filled. Every machine is smothered with fingerprints. The front windows are smothered with fingerprints. The trampolines are filthy. I absolutely cannot believe that this place is still open for business and you can definitely tell that it’s ran by Young kids with zero work ethics absolutely zero!!! they’re all standing behind the counter with their cell phones doing nothing !!! when there’s so much that can be done. This place used to be so nice. It’s been a while since I’ve been here but it’s definitely been a while since they’ve cleaned anything. I would think twice before you bring your children here. There’s too many places in town that take a whole lot better care of their facility I’ve already paid for my granddaughter to jump here, but it will be the last time.!! There’s absolutely no way this place has four people working right now on Sunday, May 25 and This Place!!! is this dirty and it’s only 120 in the afternoon. Yeah definitely last time I’m here.

Had talked to a manager who gave me permission to do a Pizza Party. When I came back had multiple sassy rude ladies tell me that we couldn't have our outside food or drink. After telling them the manager okayed it. They were still rude and acted like I was a kid. So you lost our business for good. Not to mention by pictures you see them allowing others to have their outside stuff, but wanted to snip at me. I came to celebrate Step parent adoption and these ladies ruined it.

My first time having a birthday party here. My party host, Mariah, was amazing! She tended to our every need and ensured we had the best party. We rented a table for the party which went well on super bowl Sunday, as there were no other parties there. I think if I were to have another party there I would get the room, to keep things a little more separate from other groups. Great time for all the kids (and adults).

Half of the staff had called off sick so there were a couple of the largest games were not available for my grandson to play on. The place was definitely not clean!. Bring hand sanitizer! The fee to get in I thought was reasonable but you have to buy gripping socks from them and then for all the "arcade area" you need to purchase a "money card". The least amount that you can purchase is $15.00 which doesn't last very long since these games are expensive. They are in need of repair on several of the areas the kids play. There are supposed to be several lights running along the platforms as the kids run up then try and ring the cowbell that of course don't ring as the inside ringer piece is no longer in the bell. So after all is said and done including a drink for the 3 of us cost right around $45 for 2 hours! I made my grandson take a shower when we got back home because of the filth and of course the perspiration from trying to ring the cowbell. When my other grandchildren come to visit we will find other recreation for them.

I just had my son's birthday party here and it was an amazing experience. They took such great care of us that it felt like we were working with family and friends. Our host, Isaiah, was very accommodating to our needs and went beyond what we expected. He even hand drew Mario for my son and genuinely consoled him when he got frustrated when his Mario balloon popped. His assistant Leonard also helped and transformed the room into an amazing Mario themed space. They pay attention to every detail and relieved us of any stress that came with planning such an event. Their warmth has made a lasting impact on my son, my family, his friends and their families. They were very attentive to the kids and they really care about making sure they have the best experience. I would definitely return for future events.

If you work on Peterson SFB, or have a few extra minutes when visiting, I highly recommend walking around this amazing open outdoor Aircraft Museum. No gates, cost, or entrance procedure, just see it anytime. Each aircraft and missile has an informative plaque. It is a fun and memorable walk through military aviation history.

To whom this may concern - we just finished our tour at the Peterson Museum and Joe - our guide - was very nice and knowledgeable. However, I did not appreciate his remarks at the end that the “current army” doesn’t support “Donald” , and goes on to highlight a recent west point experience. He then spoke about how easily “Donald” gets us into Wars, when ironically he has been the only president in the past 2 decades who has not began a war. Those denigrating comments about our Commander in Chief were not appreciated. My wife and I are both American Citizens, and this was a let down to know this attitude is prevalent inside base. I hope my comments don’t fall on deaf ears. Regards, Hugo

Located at the meeting point of the foothills and plains, North Cheyenne Cañon Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity. The park is home to a wide array of wildlife such as black bears, mountain lions, mule deer, and various native and migratory bird species. Visitors can explore notable attractions like Helen Hunt Falls, impressive rock formations, and the educational Starsmore Discovery Center within the park's boundaries.
Visited the park in December, so it was covered with snow, I did enjoy it regardless of the cold. Beautiful scenery. Entry is free and there is a park office with helpful information. I recommend visiting

Been coming here frequently for a few years now. Love hiking here the park is well kept and I wanted to give a shout out to the park rangers or whoever keeps this place clean! I have two dogs I bring and I always pick up after them. Which I know some people do but I wish everyone did! They do such a great job of picking up all the poop and making sure all trails are cleared when trees have fallen over as well! I appreciate yalls hard work! Here’s a few pictures throughout the years and different seasons. I would like to add a suggestion is it possible at the top to add another trash can before the main trail breaks off into the side trails? I feel this could help with the dog poop bags I see or just poo. I know my dogs are different compared to others, but they tend to let it all out before we reach all the trails.

Been here twice, once was around Christmas and again in May, both times was super beautiful and I really enjoyed it. We made it to the Shrine Road, and both times the Shrine played music around 10am, its so pretty, specially around Christmas, it plated for a long time. The bonus is being out in nature!!!

One of our favorite spots on the whole trip! Absolutely amazing views and such a beautiful park. 100000/10 recommend.

Awesome hike and amazing views. Get there early as parking is limited both at the lower and upper visitor center. Park may close good due to too many guests. Well worth the visit even just to drive up and down the mountain.

Absolute hidden Gem 💎! I’m surprised no one has really reviewed this area. If you are new I would highly recommend the Lower and medium columbine trails! We took the medium columbine trail up to Tunnel 1 and it was definitely worth the hike! Lots of 🌳s and we even saw a 🦌!

The Airplane Restaurant is a unique aviation-themed dining experience located in Colorado Springs. It features a 1953 Boeing KC-97 tanker plane that has been transformed into the first restaurant inside an aircraft in the United States. The restaurant offers a journey through aviation history, with the plane comfortably seating and feeding forty-two passengers and filled with pictures and artifacts from its time in the air.
Pros: if you have a person who loves planes, then this is the spot to go! Lots of plane memorabilia, life sized items, and the obvious plane you can eat in. You can also eat in the regular restaurant if you are easily claustrophobic or just need more room. The menu has a great selection, the desserts were good, and service was great. The kids menu was fabulous! Cons: the booths in the plane are close together so if you go while it's busy, you may hear others conversations. I read another comment about it being dated but I wouldn't consider that a con. I love the small town feel and it's places like these that make it an experience and just not eating food and rushing out. Probably the only other con was it's out of the way, but we drove two hours and enjoyed every second! 9.5/10 would recommend *Ate the Bomber burger with fries. Very good!

Went on a Friday night, there was a wait but it was worth it. We got seated in the plane my daughter was excited. The host does a mini tour and explain about the place. They really do lean into the airport theme. We started off with the say cheese sticks, very good. Then we got cheeseburger with "fries". They are not your normal fries, thicker then chips, almost like a thin potato skin. Very good and a unique spin. I got the baked spaghetti very good and loaded with peppers, onions and sausage. If you have time this is a great spot.
Robert H — Google review
Such a fun and unique spot! The whole place is like an airplane museum, with models, airplane parts, and even a real airplane turned into a dining area. Definitely ask to sit inside the airplane—it’s the best part, and you can even check out the cockpit for photos. Food was tasty and fresh—we had the chicken tenders and their famous quesadilla. Huge portions for the price, so we had to take some home. Service was on the slower side (my iced tea lemon was forgotten too), but they seemed short staffed, so understandable. The funniest part? The restrooms play loud airplane engine sounds—it feels like a plane is about to take off (or crash 😅). Had a good laugh about it. Overall, 5 stars for the unique experience, 5 stars for food, but service could be faster. Still worth it just for the airplane vibe!
Robin — Google review
Super cool place to visit with your family. You can either eat in the building which has a lot of cool airplane memorabilia to look at or eat in an actual old school Boeing airplane thats been converter to have booths & tables! They even preserved the cockpit. I had a special of steak & shrimp & it was very good! They know how to make a medium rare steak for sure.
Joshua C — Google review
Fun little tourist spot to visit. Staff is excellent and leans into the decor. Hostess let us know some of the history as we walked in and our server was excellent. You can eat in the airplane but also just go take a look into the cockpit and play around. Fun place for kids. Lots of bison options, to include corned bison for the Reuben. The fries are also great, they are like thicker potato slices that are well fried.
William K — Google review
Wonderful plane dining experience. Food was fabulous and in large portions. Appetizers were served with main course. Too much to eat and so carried some home. My favorite was the baked spaghetti. Definitely try this place out when staying at the Radison near the airport or when in Colorado Springs in general. Awesome service provided by Naomi!
Valerie D — Google review
If you have kids - you gotta go here. If you're a child at heart- you gotta go here. If you like aviation history- you gotta go here. If you like friendly service, excellent food and, substantial portions - You gotta go here. We even met the owner. (He was taking out the recycling!) He offered to take our group photo and told us stories of how he brought the plane up to this spot. You can tell that he embodies the culture of friendly service from the top. Overall review- You gotta go here.
Tony R — Google review
Very good food. They have the best fries I’ve ever had. We had such a great experience that we went twice on our vacation- once in the plane and once in the lobby. Would not recommend sitting in the plane with babies… there is not enough room in the aisles for a high chair. Kids can still go play in the cockpit if you’re seated in the main lobby. Waitresses were attentive and the owner was present and greeting people. Very kid friendly.

Miramont Castle Museum and The Queen's Parlour Tea Room is a must-visit destination in Manitou Springs. This 1895 chateau offers over 14,000 square feet of space with 40 authentically furnished Victorian-era rooms to explore. The castle boasts meticulously crafted architecture, including unique room designs and a grand staircase. Visitors can immerse themselves in history by exploring exhibits of vintage artifacts, artwork, firefighter and war memorabilia throughout the four-story building.
Let me start by saying the staff was so amazing! This place is great for any family adventure. Such interesting history and stories behind it. Any questions you have will be answered and they offer papers to show you the right way to go and lots of details. The gift shop was awesome offering things from sweets to jewelry. Overall I'll come back my wife and daughter had a great time!

Stepping into the Queen's Parlour Tea Room at Miramont Castle felt like opening a page from a Victorian fairytale. Sharing high tea with my favorite girls was more than just a meal. It was a memory steeped in nostalgia, joy, and elegance. The four-course experience with its tender scones, savory bites, and a shareable duo of tea flavors, was a delicious journey through time. The final touch, a delightful tea dessert, was the perfect sweet ending to a soulful afternoon. A special nod to the staff, whose warm hospitality and storytelling brought the castle's 130 year legacy to life. Their passion and grace made every detail feel like part of a living history, where every tale and smile echoed the timeless charm of Miramont. The ambiance itself, what a treasure. The curated collectibles throughout the castle invite you to linger, reflect, and marvel. Every corner whisper of the past, offering beauty and serenity that transcends time. I recommend this family friendly heartwarming and unforgettable experience.

Went yesterday with my daughter husband and it exceeded our expectations! If you want to feel welcomed and have divine teas and delicious food look no further! Our server was delightful and witty and took such good care of everyone in the room. After the tea, tour the castle and talk to Kelly (aka the Duchess in the dungeon) and listen to her stories, she was AMAZING!! If your between having tea here or The Brown Palace where you pay twice the amount, go HERE! So happy we did!

This is an amazing self guided tour of a beautiful castle that has had a storied past. The staff here are super friendly and knowledgeable of the past uses of this building and prior to the tour beginning you are given a short history. The entrance fee is $15 and worth every penny. There are lots of stairs inside so be ready for some walking.

A historic glimpse into the past. This castle is a beautiful masterpiece. I can say the ghosts are real as I had a wicked never felt before experience in the new military room. The teddy bears left for the children are heartbreaking but a nice tribute to remember them. Would glady go tour this castle again.

This review is about the Miramont high tea, not the museum. Wonderful experience! The tea room is well decorated, and the space is well utilized, with enough space to keep the conversations at different tables private. The food comes in several stages, all original, high quality, and tasty. You can choose two different teas—two teapots per person. You can add a cocktail for an additional charge. Friendly and professional service. You can also have some fun wearing one of the hats provided by the establishment. Reservations highly recommended.

We had an amazing high tea experience at the Queen's tea room today! The service was impeccable. The food was all delicious and my niece who is 10, enjoyed every bit of it and she felt very special and very celebrated. We did the tour of miramont Castle afterward and I'm so glad we did some fun and interesting history tidbits and a lot of very cool local history artifacts that you could get up close to, which was very rewarding. Because it's an old building, there's some uneven floors so that's the only thing to be aware of, but it is not anything that should prevent you from stopping by. Time and age does strange things to buildings.

Nice little walkthrough of the castle. Some history of the people who lived there and a tribute to the fire fighters who battled a blaze in the area. One of the judges for the Nurnberg WWII trials was from Colorado springs, so even some WWII pictures there

Ice cream shop
Nestled in the heart of Colorado Springs, Josh & John's has been delighting ice cream enthusiasts for over three decades. This beloved local gem started as a quaint shop and has blossomed into a well-known brand with multiple locations throughout the state, including downtown and Flying Horse. Known for their commitment to quality, they hand-churn their ice cream using locally sourced ingredients, ensuring each scoop is rich and creamy.
It’s a very nice dessert place to go especially when you’re roaming around downtown, Colorado Springs. The staff were very friendly and we tried their nachos purple mountain majesty and it was really delicious. They’re open late at night so really easy to eat an ice cream when you’re craving for one.
Shriraam M — Google review
Went to try the new Moonbeam ice cream, it was delicious. Heavy on the blueberry flavor and the white chocolate chunks melt in your mouth! Interior is typical ice cream shop, there is a lot of seating for downtown, but it gets packed quickly, especially on the weekends. Parking can be a hassle because it's downtown, but give Moonbeam ice cream a shot. A slight irritation that I have with Josh & John's is that they charge by the weight of the cone, but then have standard pricing for their for their ice cream sandwiches.
Pinky P — Google review
It’s always good to get ice cream from Josh and John’s. Got a waffle cone with almond joy and purple mountain majesty. And a waffle cone with cookies and cream and malted mazel toff they were delicious. Friendly employees and great atmosphere!

My daughter and I went here to get some Moon Beam ice cream like we heard on the radio and sadly it was all gone. However, we did get some yummy ice cream. I bought the Purple Mountain Majesty which they said is made from a type of plant similar to a sweet potato and my and daughter got a strawberry banana split in a waffle cone. Both were really good. We came late at night and they were pretty busy so we did have a wait but we just chatted in line. Overall it was a good experience.

We stop here everytime we’re in town. The vegan ice cream is the best I’ve had in the area.

I was visiting Downtown Colorado Springs for business and stopped by Josh & John’s for ice cream on my final night in town because a trip is never complete without trying local ice cream. I’m glad we stopped in after dinner. I ordered their popular “Purple Mountain Majesty” ice cream, which is made of taro and raspberry truffle. Pretty good but not stellar. The young lady helping with the orders was really upbeat the night we stopped in and provided good service. It was really busy when we went in but we enjoyed the ambiance. Overall, nice spot to check out on Tejon in Downtown Colorado Springs. We enjoyed eating this just outside the building in the crisp (for a Californian) evening.

This has been one of my favorite ice cream places over the years but recently I got some of my favorite cake batter ice cream from here and bit into what appeared to be a fingernail piece. I was quite grossed out, but decided to email them to ask if they would maybe refund it since their ice cream is certainly on the expensive side. it took a while to get in contact with them who was actually able to through these reviews. They were able to refund the transaction and gave me a little gift card so that was very nice of them. Overall, even though I may not be back for a minute, just due to being a little grossed out, this was a one time experience and overall, I’ve had so many great experiences here, would recommend.
Kayden A — Google review
Excellent ice cream and fun flavors. Worth waiting in line! We stopped by after dinner and the line was out the door, but the ice cream was worth the wait. They have lots of mainstay flavors including some interesting ones like the purple mountain majesty which is a taro ice cream, but they also have a rotating menu of special flavors. All of the ice cream was delicious including the home made waffle cones. I would definitely recommend stopping by an supporting a local business.

Palmer Park is a 737-acre wildlife preserve located on a mesa, offering various outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and sports fields. It provides stunning views of Pikes Peak from the front range, especially during sunset when the peak stands out in all its glory. The park's maze of multi-use trails allows visitors to escape the surrounding urban environment and enjoy the natural oasis created by city founder General William Jackson Palmer.
I love bringing my dogs here. It's fun to be on the main dog trail and let them run around as we do our hike. Everyone here is very very friendly and I never feel uncomfortable to my dogs roam around as they please. If you are not a dog person, there are still plenty of other trails for hikers where dogs must be on leashes.

I would say this is also a must visit in Colorado Springs. Visit the Grand View Overlook during sunset and I bet you will love it. The park itself has plenty of other trails that you can hike and they all look well maintained.
Aakash H — Google review
Very pretty, rocky hike with views on either side. Got the heart pumping! Back in December 2024 on a different trail, went down a couple of rocks from the top and accidentally got off path. Some tree-trimmers had a good laugh watching me come out of nowhere.

This is an amazing park, the long off leash trail is beautiful and so much fun for the dogs and me as well. It feels like a trip to the forest just 10 minutes from home. It’s so well maintained, the park rangers are great.

My kiddo loved it here! There are quite a few jungle gyms that the kids can play on and swings to swing on. Theres even a tree they can climb on as well. The afternoon tends to be the busiest since all the parents are getting off and want their littles to run out all of their energy. So it maybe better to go in the AM or early afternoon.

Great place for hiking in Colorado Springs, Co. Tons of trails for all types of hiking.
Jeffery W — Google review
I had a great time hiking out here for my first time in CO springs. The area is very dry but also lush and beautiful with great views of Pikes Peak and the incline in the distance. Short easy loop with enough incline to make it a good hike.
Darron J — Google review
I have played the playground for about an hour and a half. They have three different play areas within the same distance, and two sets of swings. Definitely a park for all ages. Lots of places to sit and watch your Kiddos. Also, a good amount of parking to accommodate the amount of people who were there. Then we went and drove up to the top of Palmer park to walk the trails. I love how dog friendly the place is even though we did not have a dog. The kids absolutely enjoyed seeing all the animals, and you could just see the happiness on the dogs faces being off leash and running around. We took a long walk down the hillside, and then into the tree lines. The trail was great. It had been raining for the past few days and it was not too muddy, but it was definitely muddy in some spots. Entrails also used by biking groups and we encountered a couple while we were a few miles in. We walked back up to the top, and then we drove down to Lot 12 to look and climb the rocks. The kids had so much fun and would definitely recommend this park. For kiddos who do not have a bunch of hiking experience. This was a great park to get their feet wet. It gives lots of beautiful views, and the trail really feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere instead of in the middle of town.

Amy's Donuts, located on Fountain Blvd. in Colorado Springs, is a beloved haven for donut enthusiasts. This low-priced bakery offers a wide array of classic and innovative flavors in a vibrant setting. The shop prides itself on crafting the most delicious and clever donuts daily, including unique options like almond banana caramel, chocolate peanut butter, Nutella crumb, Trix, and Butterfinger glaze.
Contrary to some reviews I read, I had a good 1st impression at this location on the last weekend of May 2025. The lady at the counter was polite and patient with me as I spent a few minutes looking over their very interesting variety of donuts. The donuts themselves are not bad, but, for me, it's all about the names, creativeness, and aesthetic- "Dirty Worms"(gummy worms on a chocolate icing 🍩) "Elmo?" 📸😁😋 They're fun to look at, fun to eat, and funny to talk about with your food-loving and/or humorous acquaintances. I make it a point to stop at Amy's Donuts in my travels 🚗 to the mountains.

I use to love this place, however now it's going down hill. It felt like I was being rushed to pick what I wanted. Felt unpleasant and like it was a burden to them for us being there. They do have a huge variety of donuts though, and they give you a break down of their prices. I also highly recommend their pigs in a blanket.
Kaylara H — Google review
The best donuts in Colorado Springs. Not doughy like Dunkin's, not deep fried like Krispy Kreme. All sorts of toppings that are yummy. I stop there every morning as I go visit my dad.
Colin W — Google review
It's a bit overwhelming when you go in, especially for the first time. There are so many delicious-looking donuts with a huge variety of flavor combinations. After an agonizing two minutes or so, I narrowed my choices down to the Heath donut, the Chunky Monkey, and the key lime donut. Completely stuck, I asked the lady working there which one she would recommend. She was very friendly and personable as she chose the key lime for me. She even made sure I got napkins. Above and beyond. Reasonably priced. And the key lime donut? No regrets. As delicious as it looked. I can't wait until I go to Amy's Donuts again for my next flavor adventure!

So many options here. We wentvto both locations while in the area. You just have to go. Fresh donuts with great icing and flavors what else can you ask for.
Nancy B — Google review
Amy's Donuts was once a haven for lovers of all sorts of baked delights. From the twists, cinnamon rolls and, of course, the delicious donuts, everything they made was made freshly everyday and was sumptuous to the last bite. Now? Amy's is a laughing parody of itself. What happened? Well, there's a new sheriff in town at Amy's and the crew is just terrible, as is the bakery itself. Menu screens no longer work. Prices have skyrocketed $0.49 per donut ($3, seriously?). Service is abysmal. And the donuts just don't taste the same. I visited one afternoon to hopefully get a fantastic donut in their lively bakery. Not only was it completely empty but I was meet by a strange woman that didn't speak English well and acted very unprofessionally. The first thing I asked was how much the donuts cost, since the menu boards were either off or malfunctioning. When she told me they were $2.99 I almost left. To add to the misery the restaurant was dirty and there were loads of donuts left. I understood both those points very well after I got in my car and tasted the donut I bought. It was total garbage. It was very dry, not flaky and tasted old. I was immediately disappointed. I was so disappointed it took nearly a month for me to review them. Adding to the chaos is their most recent Health Dept. report card, which cited them for cleanliness, both in the dining room and in the kitchen. Standards have dropped significantly, which explains the decrease in quality for their food and customer service. Overall, Amy's is a hard pass for me. At one time, I would've highly recommended them as a dessert oasis. Now, I don't look their way as I pass them on my way to my walking-distance apartment. I guess it's time to lose weight. 1 Star. Update: 10/20/2025 - After a not so subtle health review, which highlighted many discrepancies, Amy's has come back with a vengeance. The donuts are, once again, delicious and unmistakably Amy's. The prices have gone up a little but the restaurant is cleaner, the issues with the back of the house have been resolved and the staff are much better with their customer service. The general vibe at Amy's has returned to its rightful place and the customers, judging by the packed dining room and endless drive-thru lines, are loving it and so am I. Once again, Amy's Donuts has impressed me and regained my business. A very cautious but well deserved 4 stars. Keep up the good work, everyone. Your customers appreciate you.

If you are looking for a place that is handicap accessible, I would not recommend. The seats they have reserved are extremely uncomfortable for anyone let alone, seniors. We love the FAC, the plays are always extremely well done, we see several a year on average. The reason I gave it a 4 star is the quality of the seats. There is a bad seat in the house except that all the seats are horribly uncomfortable. You will see people brining cushions to sit on, its that bad. I would love to see them redo the seating that would make this place perfect.

Quite a wonderful collection of art that features different exhibits from time to time. Free admission fridays (every third of the month) is a great budget friendly experience. Sarah, one of the curators, has a program for volunteers to help restore and clean statues, which makes for a great volunteering opportunity!

We come down from Denver for a visit every 3 or 4 months. Love the Southwestern art exhibit. You won't find a larger array of Spanish Colonial art, including 200 year old retablos and statues anywhere else in the West - unless you're in Santa Fe. There are always a number of rotating exhibits that are well done.

Accessible from the parking lot at High Drive and Lower Gold Camp Road, the trail begins near Helen Hunt Falls and follows an old railroad line before reaching marker 622. As hikers traverse the shaded path, they will cross seven wooden bridges and encounter small waterfalls along the way.
Open year-round, Seven Bridges Trail is a popular hiking path near Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs in North Cheyenne Cañon. The bridges are in great shape and the trail is well maintained. Alongside the trail is a crystal clear creek that creates small waterfalls as it cascades down the mountainside. The creek flows much stronger in the spring than in the fall. The trail is fairly well shaded by the trees the entire way. The hike has a constant and gentle gain that makes it great for a 2 to 3-hour trip. This hike is very dog friendly and there are plenty of areas for your dog to cool down in the water. Keep your dog on leash and pick after them. Leave No Trace 💚

Lots of fun! 869 elevation gain and about 3.4 miles. My four year old was able to complete it no problem (took some patience going down). The trail head is 3/4 mile from the main parking. The first bridge is currently out so there is a detour. If you keep going past the 7th bridge, it gets a little precarious and ends kind of abruptly. There is no marker indicating that the trail has ended, just a steep, smooth mountain that makes it obvious you can’t go any further. The trail wasn’t too crowded.
Ashley G — Google review
What a perfect hike! To start the drive to the trailhead was gorgeous. Portapltties at the trailhead were handy and parking was plentiful (at least on a friday morning in november). Took me an hour to get to bridge 7. Its so lovely to follow the creek.
Dede S — Google review
Very beautiful views at the top of this hike. It is shaded like 80 % of the trail, while you’re in the woods. Some areas do get wet on the trail from water over flow.
Rachel P — Google review
Very scenic and family friendly trail. 1st bridge is closed but the detour is only .1 mile longer. No big deal. We hike this everytime we come to CO
Curtis K — Google review
Great trail, not too steep up or down! Was even able to do it 7 months pregnant :) Plus, the weather was fantastic.
Ashley S — Google review
Good trail. Easy enough for the whole family with plenty of spots to stop and catch your breath if you’re not used to the altitude.
Phil L — Google review
This is one of our favorite hikes. There is a slight detour starting off because the first bridge is completely gone, washed away! Lots of shade and the creek is fun for the dogs!

Poor Richard's Restaurant is a beloved local spot in Colorado Springs, known for its brick-oven pizza, fresh salads, and sandwiches. It's a popular choice among locals for its flavorful dishes and options catering to vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant also houses a cafe, bookstore with unique gifts, and a toy store all under one roof. What sets Poor Richard's apart is its focus on using organic and locally sourced ingredients as well as humanely raised meats.
We had the most beautiful bridal shower for our book loving bride out on the patio. The food, salad and charcuterie, was delicious and the setting was just perfect! Not too big and not too small for our group of 25. The staff was so easy to work with. Everything was just as we agreed! This little event spot is a gem in downtown Colorado Springs. We couldn't have asked for anything better!

Fun restaurant on the north end of downtown with attached bookstore. Delicious soups, pizza and sandwiches at reasonable prices. Very casual place with comfortable tables that you bus yourself. Love they pay their employees a living wage plus health insurance.

I have been eating at this restaurant since the mid 80's. I wanted to take the time to thank the owner's and especially the staff for good food and excellent service! I usually order a slice of pizza and a salad. Your salads and home made dressing are the best! What sets you apart is the freshness of your ingredients! I live out of town about an hour away but find myself craving food from this restaurant as your prices are completely affordable and your food is the best. Many times I order a salad and literally it stinks. At Poor Richards, your salads are succulent and fresh! It is refreshing to know that I aways have a place I can trust when in town. Thank you again for all of your hard work! A loyal customer!!!!

The pizza had perfectly crispy crust and the toppings are plentiful and tasty. The Curry Lentil soup is also fabulous. Just the right amount of heat. The counter staff are friendly and seem to work well as a team. At least they worked well today.

Poor Richard’s deserves five stars for far more than just its food — the heart and generosity behind this restaurant truly set it apart. In a time of need, their commitment to supporting the community is nothing short of inspiring. I’ve always recommended them, even before the government shutdown, but now I’ll be encouraging everyone I know to dine here so this incredible owner can continue making a difference. Thank you for feeding both our bodies and our spirits — and for sharing your delicious food with those who need it most.

Any business that supports its community and those affected by a government shutdown have my humble gratitude! The government workers appreciate your generosity and support. The pizza was crispy, delicious, and extra cheesy. Salad and balsamic dressing were amazing! Yes, it’s downtown, yes parking is limited. It is downtown. Don’t mark a business down for something trivial like its location.
Dave W — Google review
The house salad was the best item on the menu we tried. The pizza was nicely done. I had a Ruben sandwich, they were out of the marble rye, so I chose the wheat bread, it was just ok. Not enough meat or thousand island dressing. Big place books, puzzles, jewelry, greeting cards like ten flavors of tea, and baked goods that we did not try. I had the hibiscus tea and it was delicious. No sweetener but still satisfying.

I really appreciate Poor Richard's willingness to feed us furloughed government workers. My son and I were there on Saturday the 25th. The staff made the transaction truly seamless. Thank you so much! You have customers in us for life.

The ProRodeo Hall of Fame & Museum of the American Cowboy is a fascinating destination that showcases the rich history of rodeo and honors legendary cowboys. Visitors can explore exhibits on rodeo history, cowboy greats, and Western art in a beautiful event center. The museum also features an arena and displays like the Bomber Plane Display.
I was unsure if I wanted to make a visit to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, because I’ve only been to a few rodeos. I was pleasantly surprised of how much I enjoyed this museum, and all the historic artifacts, artwork, photos, etc. I really appreciated the stories of the hundreds of men and women who have participated in the various rodeo events, and the stories behind these people. The facility is awesome, and much larger than I expected.

We loved visiting the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. So much information and awesome memorabilia. Highly recommend this place to a Rodeo fan. They also had many things for children to try out so they would stay engaged and entertained throughout the museum.

Tickets are $10 for an adult and $9 for seniors. Well worth it! We got to see two horses with their babies. Enjoyed the 15 min video presentation/educational about the rodeo. Lots to see!

There is a lot of interesting stuff even for people like I, who have never seen real rodeo shows. The museum is very big. There is a beautiful area in the backyard: small "lake" and sculptures and life horses on the fence.

I'm very thankful this place exists because I love everything that has to do with rodeos! So many cool things here, I highly recommend visiting if you're planning on being in the Colorado Springs area! Something that was really cool is they have a sort of scavenger hunt that you can do that not only gets you to really read and look at everything, but if you are able to find what they tell you to, you win a prize at the gift shop! So make sure you participate in that right after getting your admission ticket! The amount of history and items in each display case are amazing! You can also go outside and see more out there including a few retired, but still beautiful as ever, horses along with their baby horses! You can't pet them though, but that doesn't matter, just being able to see these beautiful creatures in person so close is worth it! It wasn't crowded when we visited which was great! You should definitely come here and experience everything this great place has to offer!

Visitors can spot magnificent great blue herons and explore topics like climate, wildlife, plants, and weather. The center also boasts a picturesque 1.
Right outside the Colorado Springs zip code so it's a very close drive, especially if you're coming from the south side of the Springs, towards the Cheyenne Mountain/Fort Carson area! 📍 Joined a 2's and 3's hiking group here to get my son out for some outdoor exploring with company his age and it went great! The tickets were cheap (less than $5 a person for us & we're a military household) and the battery experience was worthwhile. We got to see and experience local wildlife like a momma raccoon raising young in a nearby tree and a herd of young deer resting. You do have to book ahead of time if you're interested in the same program tho! Overall, I definitely recommend this nature park! Very family-friendly and educational for young kiddos 🤗📚
Jo B — Google review
I have been walking through this nature preserve for over 30 years. I am a Colorado springs native and my ancestors were pioneers who settled here before Colorado became a state. I'm saying this because the management here is out of touch with what a nature preserve should be. Every weekend they have tours of like 50 people to catch insects and butterflies here. I understand why they offer that, but in a nature preserve? Some of the butterflies that come here are endangered. Not very long ago you would see hundreds of butterflies in this field, now you see a couple. The birds are gone, the spiders and flying insects and butterflies are gone. The park is almost silent. IS IT REALLY A NATURE PRESERVE ANYMORE??? They'll call the police if you walk a dog or push a bicycle through here, because they're trying to protect the ecosystem. But taking away everything that makes it a preserve is just business. On another occasion, I saw the maintenance guy run over a goose on the trail. He was going so fast in the little truck that he was leaving a dust cloud like 300 feet long and hit those geese. I went to the nature preserve and the manager asked me what I wanted him to do about it. He told me it's only a goose and not a big deal??? There were people on the trail that day and that guy was going like 40 mph on the nature preserve trails.

Flat, beautiful walk with a creek on one side and ponds on the other. Felt like Snow White out here with the deer, squirrel, and birds nearby. Went back in December for a surprisingly sunshine-y stroll to relax.

Fountain Creek Regional Park is a great park and one of my all-time favorites! There are trails all through the protected wetland area where I've encountered a family of turkeys, owl's, deer, herons, red winged black birds, turtles, lizards, frogs, gopher (bull) snake, garter snake, dragonflies and damselflies galore, butterflies, hummingbird moths, beaver, muskrat and the elusive Bobcat. If you love bird watching or nature photography this is the spot! There are 3 ponds where fishing is permitted but NO FISHING in the wetland area behind the Nature Center!

The park features various sections such as The Homestead, The Corral, and The Watering Hole. It offers looped trails, soccer fields, a splash pad, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Visitors can enjoy cheerful pavilions and picnic areas with nearby restrooms.
Great to place to bring children. They have a water park. You can rent a space to have a gathering, birthday party or baby shower. Playground is big .

It can be very windy in winter sunny in Summer ( it’s quite exposed) but despite this it’s one of the best playgrounds/parks for little kids in the Springs… it also has a splash pad that opens at 10am (closes for 30 min about every 2 hrs), but it’s huge and farm themed! There is a sand pit, huge place structure, farm animal swing sets, spinning structure, etc. It’s always really packed with kids, which can be a positive and negative. One hand it’s a bit chaotic if you are looking for a more beautiful setting. And the other hand if you want to place full of energy and other kids for your kids to play with it’s a great choice.
Lianna D — Google review
This park is beautiful and well-maintained. A fabulous addition to the area. So much to do including lots of play structures and a huge splash pad. There’s ample picnic tables and shade as well. Lots of benches and seating too. My family really enjoyed it and we’ll be back soon.
Alexi D — Google review
Very nice park! Visiting from California and looked for parks to walk my dog around. Nice trail around whole park. There is a dry creek bed you can walk down too. Cute playgrounds. Splash pad was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Restrooms are closed—about 4 ports-potties.

We had a large group picnic here. Reservations were ready to schedule. Kids loved the water zone. Plenty of tables.
Jennifer ( — Google review
Daughter loved playing at the playground. The splash pad seemed nice and busy but she didn’t want to play on it. There is limited seating with shade with the exception of of the pavilions. I would say it is definitely targeted for kids under 8.

We Love this place and thank you for it ALL being free! It is everything you want for a great family outing. I will say you do have to keep close eye on kiddos, because it is such a big outdoor space. ALSO i recommended bringing your own shade along with all the other outdoor necessities/ essentials for a water/splash pad, hot metal and plastic fun playground, bathrooms and I think concessions ( not 💯 on that) Have a great time! Please comment back and tell me about YOUR experience 🤗🌈
MamaFairey — Google review
This park is clean, safe and so much fun for the kids! The splash pad is huge and has so many fun things for the kids to do, and then there’s the whole rest of the park to enjoy once they’ve dried off. The spinning rope tower is an interesting play structure that you don’t see every day and there’s just so much to do, you can easily spend a few hours at this playground. The trash cans appear to be well maintained and regularly emptied and there are bathrooms available. We couldn’t get into the family bathroom while we were there because it was locked and there didn’t seem to be anyone on there so hopefully it will be available to use next time.

Partnering with various tour providers, they offer Jeep, trolley, and Segway tours as well as guided electric bike tours.
We enjoyed a Scenic Ride to the Shrine tour today that started from CMZ and went up to the Shrine of the Sun. Our guide was funny and friendly, and he shared various facts about Pikes Peak, GotG, geology in the local area, and more during our trek. The weather was beautiful for the adventure, and we were allotted enough time at the Shrine to climb to the top, explore the look outs and patio area, read the signs and plaques, and take plenty of photos/ videos. Highly recommend to locals and tourists alike!

Garden of the Gods! So glad we booked the Jeep Tour, because it gave us a little taste of everything, plus some history of the area. We’d shown up an hour early (thanks to overestimating our grocery run 😬), so our guide (Prairie Dog) offered to start ahead of schedule. That ended up being perfect to miss the rain. Prairie Dog also happens to be a professional photographer and took lots of amazing photos of me and my husband. 10/10!

I had a great trip/tour with "Sketch". We started on time and our guide was helpful and knowledgeable. I was so grateful to have a safe driver to scale the roadways to Pikes Peak. Sketch knew the roadways well. As we were going up, about 50 old Porsche Speedsters were coming down. It was quite the sight to hear & see. The weather uptop was much colder/windy. Our guide reminded us frequently to hydrate and to fill our lungs with air. Sketch gave us a great tour around town. He knew lots of history about the town, people, and buildings. We went to the Garden of the Gods and got a quick tour through there. It was very pretty and we got lucky - it wasn’t crowded. Highly recommend this tour group. We felt safe and well cared for. Thank you.
Christie D — Google review
Our excellent experience started in the Garden of the Gods visitor center where we booked our excursion. There was no tour available at the time we wanted the following day, so they created one just for us. We lucked out and got a private Jeep tour with Cougar. Let me just tell you that he was excellent. First off, he had snacks, water, blankets, gloves, and waterproof jackets so we'd have everything we needed for the cold summit, no matter the weather. He knew so much about pikes peak and its racing history that it kept my car enthusiast husband enthrawled for the whole trip. Cougar also kept the conversation and jokes coming to entertain my two kids. And when my daughter got a little car sick on the way down, he took great care of her, going nice and slow and stopping whenever and for however long she needed. He was also very patient with me and all my photos, being sure to point out when a good photo op was upcoming and going nice and slowly or stopping so that I could get the shot. We will absolutely come back to do more tours in the future if we are back in town (their off-road options sound so fun) and we will specifically request Cougar as our guide. Thanks for a great time!
Sharon C — Google review
I wanted to get to Pikes Peak but my husband wasn’t too sure about making the drive himself so I booked us a 4 hour trip to the summit and then to Garden of the Gods. It was an absolute blast full of laughter and learning!! Our guide “Axe Man” is a local and shared so much about the history of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. We had a beautiful day and saw mountain goats and adorable marmots. I live in FL, pretty much at sea level so reaching the summit of the peak is like stepping out into a different world, I was so lightheaded and woozy from the fact there is less oxygen at the top, I think he said 28% less. The landscape is amazing, the views of the CO plains are inspiring and seeing the Continental Divide mesmerizing. In this time of political turmoil I found a greater appreciation for America the beautiful. Definitely a must do experience as you can sit back and relax, enjoying our beautiful country and not worry about the harrowing roadways to get there. (My husband admits he would not have made it up the mountain if he was driving nor would I as I am afraid of heights!) Highly recommend Adventures Out West!!! And will travel with them again if we head back to CO for another vacation!!!

I did a jeep tour back in April and had the best time with Lobo as my guide. I decided to come back in October with my best friend and we did zip lining. Wouldn’t you know, it was also the best time with Elle and Dom as our guides (and Ben and Aiden were also super nice and friendly!) We wanted to do hot air balloon but was too windy, but that just means we’ll have to come back because clearly they hire the best people.

The Pike's Peak Or Bust Rodeo, held at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs, is a family-friendly summer attraction featuring top PRORODEO contestants. The event includes competitions such as Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.
From burgers to walking tacos to mutton busting to roping and riding to prayer and sunset views, the Pikes Peak or Bust rodeo is a family tradition. The athletes showcased here are some of the best in the sport and I'm not simply complimenting to cowboys and cowgirls, but the livestock as well. Find local vendors, selling their skills around the grounds, but remember if you like it, get it in the moment, otherwise it may be gone when you return. Have a budding little cowgirl or cowboy? Those 4 to 9 and 50lbs and under are welcome to try their hand a mutton busting, after a waiver is signed and a small fee is paid. Ample parking to be found, but how close depends on how early you arrive. Remember to purchase tickets early, as the event is typically sold out!

I’ve been hiking in Cheyenne Canyon before and it’s been lovely, but this was my first time rock climbing here! I came here with my fellow camp counselors from Go West Camps to train for the summer. The only downside to rock climbing here is that the path that you’ll be hiking up and standing on to belay the climbers is uneven, steep and gravelly. So maybe not the easiest place to rock climb when you’re first starting out.

It’s a beautiful and easy hike, good for kids. There’s a nice and fun nature center. However beware there is poison ivy all over near the parking lot and on the trails.
Haley K — Google review
The lady who works this location is super sweet and lovely. It is a free park with gorgeous trails and opportunity to see wildlife!
Hawk C — Google review
Beautiful location for a short walk and splash in the stream. Water was extremely cold.
Amber S — Google review
My favorite is when you first pull up to the Y in the road, to your left is a little creek I love putting my feet in.
Pinky S — Google review
Cool little stop if your in the area of Broadmoor Falls. Nice nature walk and information with birds and animals
Craig W — Google review
Many trails around this park and the park itself has some nice paths. Some near water others look more like the desert. I've done several of the trails, some a few times and all have been nice and different.

Park
America the Beautiful Park Fantasy Playground is a playground that features an impressive contemporary water fountain sculpture at its center. The playground is designed for both adults and children and provides plenty of fun and entertainment for all who visit. There are spinner bowls, hammocks, and turntables that provide out of this world entertainment for those who come here to play.
When the fountain is up and running, this place is great! Playground has options for kids of all ages, biking trails, walking paths and a little do for everyone. Only downfall of the park is the bathrooms can be dirty and a little sketchy sometimes.
Josh R — Google review
This is a great park. The playground is wonderful. There is a large variety of playground equipment and a nice splash pad for all ages. Being next to the Greenway trail system, there are some sketchy people in the area, especially at dusk so keep your little ones within eyesight and scan the area for discarded needles.
Michelle H — Google review
Great park for your kids! I brought my daughters here and they loved it. There’s public bathrooms and plenty of picnic space. It was a little cold and wet today, so we ended up having the entire park to ourselves! Great views of the mountains and city life. It was pretty open and you can expect some homeless people nearby. We are visiting from out of town, so not sure if this is located in the best area of Colorado Springs, but we had fun either way!
Brandon H — Google review
Very nice park with spaces for little ones and adults. Clean, well kept. Restrooms available. Big water loop that turns around while refreshing people during a hot day. Dog friendly. Lots of space for families. Very nice. 🐶 🌿🌳

Beautiful, relaxing area, free street parking. Easy access to downtown.

We went to America the Beautiful Park for the No Kings Rally. It was amazing. All of the people that were there was great. We the People invoked our 1st Amendment right! Power to the People!
Cornelia D — Google review
I wanted to take my kids here yesterday, but when we pulled up we noticed that there were homeless people everywhere.. some were stumbling around and it seemed like they could have been on drugs or drunk. It didn't feel safe, so we sadly didn't stop to play there. It looked like an awesome park too.. my kids were very disappointed that they didn't get to check it out.
Valerie C — Google review
This is the first time I have walked around the park. I usually travel through on the bike path and only have time to ride past. It’s a beautiful park and the playground looks like a dream for kids. I’m grateful to have spaces like this in our city.

What a nice bookstore! Lots of Bibles, and excellent books! Odyssey looks like fun and worth bringing kids of different ages!
Mei-Ling R — Google review
Love this place so much! There's a lot to do and a lot to look at. :) Plus they have gluten free options for ice cream in their ice cream parlor downstairs!
Sandra C — Google review
There was a lot to see. They had a wonderful area for kids. The sign on the door stated kids must stay with parents but that was not happening. My daughter has autism spectrum with sensory issues and the amount of noise and chaos was too much. The bookstore was a must see.
Lisa L — Google review
Such a awesome place to take your kids for a fun day or for anything family related! Always a great experience with very friendly staff and great ice cream!
Matt D — Google review
The Focus on the Family Welcome Center was truly a highlight of our family vacation. We have 3 children ranging from 7 to 1, and they all loved it. The welcome center is entirely free and a fun place for children to run around and explore. Dining at Whit's end was affordable and kid friendly. We intended on staying for an hour or two based on what we had been told, but ended up being there for about 6 hours!
Joseph R — Google review
Stopped by during vacation. The kids had a blast. There is quite a bit to do here, especially with the Adventures in Odyssey section. They have a play area, shops, a radio station where you can record your own Odyssey adventure and plenty of exploration. It's all free (outside the shops). You can burn a few hours here. The bookstore was nice it had a decent selection. Some of the prices seemed a little elevated but it was quality stuff. I would recommend this stop to anyone looking for something to do indoors with the kids.
Tyler D — Google review
Growing up listening to adventures in Odyssey and visiting when I was younger it was only highlighted even more by taking my kiddos to experience fun and the truths that focus on the family as continue to proclaim over the years. Definitely ain't worth a visit if you're in the area! The staff and the facility is clean and fun and you have to try the slide!!! 😄

Nestled in the mountains, the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun is a stunning five-story tower that was constructed in 1937 to honor the beloved cowboy and humorist, Will Rogers. This historic landmark not only serves as a tribute but also offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views of Colorado Springs and its picturesque surroundings from its viewing deck at an elevation of 8,136 feet. The interior is adorned with vibrant Western murals and heartfelt memorabilia celebrating Rogers' legacy.
Such a beautiful place with breathtaking views. The story that’s behind the building is just super sweet. Glad we were able to explore the whole building!
Sweetie — Google review
Beautiful historical site, it's very peaceful. It has a nice view when you go up, The grounds keeper gave us a short history of the shrine, we also went to the mini museum by the entrance/parking. It takes a short drive up from the zoo to get to the top. It's a bonus when visiting the zoo.
Jade C — Google review
A great historical location. Great place to see the valley down below. This has so much history. More than what I know. Beautiful location. Nice staircase up to the top. You can fit about 6 people at the top without being crowded out. And a lower location about 2 floors down. A total of 94 steps. 70 feet above the ground at a elevation of 7,710 feet.
Robert H — Google review
You get access with your zoo tickets...good for 13 days past your visit. We went the same day we visited the zoo and are so happy we did. What a beautiful view.
Roy L — Google review
Awesome place to go after visiting the zoo. Short ride up the mountain. Beautiful views. It's free with your zoo receipt.
Gene T — Google review
A beautiful mountainside tower overlooking town. The driver was very informative and nice to chat with. If you're planning a trip to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, it's worth checking out!
Ryan B — Google review
We enjoy hearing it at the Broadmoor and on the golf courses. At noon, there is a nice longer chimney song! I find myself noticing the time more just because of it!
Denise D — Google review
Very interesting but beautiful shrine. Definitely worth visiting if you’re going to Cheyenne zoo. Plus you get to drive straight through the zoo on the way up to the shrine and get great views of the animals. By the parking, there is a small museum that gives the history of the shrine and the people it’s dedicated to. The shrine is painted on the inside and I believe is three stories tall with great overlooks at each floor. If you walk down the left staircase next to the entrance, there is a small room with a painting of Mary and Jesus. Overall great place
