Nestled in the charming town of Elephant Butte, Casa Taco has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its inception in 2010. This vibrant eatery showcases a unique twist on traditional tacos with their signature puffy creations, crafted from fresh masa mixed by hand with flour and spices. The result? A delightful combination of crispy exteriors and chewy interiors that elevate each bite.
This establishment offers exceptionally delectable cuisine, with the tacos being particularly noteworthy in their flavor and quality. Frito pies are generously filled, providing a satisfying and filling experience.

I tried Casa Taco for the first time and it was fantastic! I ordered the Calabacitas Tacos and the Puffy Adobo Chicken Tacos, and both were delicious. The Calabacitas Tacos were packed with perfectly grilled veggies, fresh lettuce, and juicy diced tomatoes — super flavorful and satisfying without feeling heavy. The Puffy Adobo Chicken Tacos were a real standout — the shell was crispy on the outside but soft inside, and the chicken was seasoned so well. Everything tasted super fresh and homemade. The staff was friendly and my order came out quickly. Definitely a new go-to spot for tacos in Albuquerque! Highly recommend if you’re craving something fresh and flavorful.
Letisha B — Google review
Every time my friend comes into town. This is our lunch go to spot. It’s been a while since we’ve been here. But they’ve expanded their dinning area which is nice and doesn’t feel cramped. On this visit I ordered the “puffy” verde beef combo and a Gulf Shrimp Taco ala cart. Anything off the menu is pretty good. But I would recommend at least try any one of the puffy tacos.
Matt H — Google review
I got the “puffy” tacos recommended by the employees. Absolutely delicious. The shells were very crispy yet soft on the inside. It tasted very fresh. The rice and beans were also tasty. If you’re thinking about getting the guac do!! I will be back!
Aliyah — Google review
Visited for the first time yesterday. I had the calabacitas tacos. They came with beans and rice. The food was flavorful and portions were decent size. The bowls would be better if they were paper instead of styrofoam. I'm hoping to go back for happy hour one of these days.
Maria M — Google review
Ordered the cheese enchiladas. Half cold and warm. In the photo cheese isn’t melted. Good food service= consistency. The presentation just tells me this is the service I’ll likely get next time. I’ll pass & don’t recommend. @Montano and Coors location. In response to your reply: I shouldn’t have to tell your people to rewarm the food. I typically don’t have to do that at a business whose goals are to be consistent in top notch service.

I had lunch at Casa Taco today and was very impressed!! Whitney offered a Great sugestion on the Brisket Green Chile and Jamaican Jerk Chicken tacos. John and Team in the kitchen prepared them flawlesly. Tried the Brisket Green Chile Taco made out of slow roasted Brisket, Hatch Chile, Lettuce, Tomato and Cheese, it was amazing!! Discover a new taste on the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Taco, with Jerked Chicken, Pineapple, Mango and Habanero, found a new favorite on this one. The tangy chicken undertaste went very well with pineapple and mango. They also have my favorite drink: Sangria Señorial (no alcohol) just the absolute great taste that mexican sodas have. They also feature Jarritos with all kinds if refreshing flavors. I will definitely be back and check on their Gulf Shrimp Tacos and Calabacitas Tacos. Thank you for such a Great Meal!!

9-16-2025. Well I was surprised. I was expecting something like a taco bell and was very wrong. The food was very fresh, the staff was pleasant and the dining room was clean. The tacos we had were freshly made on the grill and the ccq was outstanding. Will be back.

Southwestern restaurant (US)
Church Street Cafe is a beloved spot in Old Town Albuquerque, known for its authentic Southwestern dishes like chile rellenos and carne adovada. The traditional adobe eatery offers a charming atmosphere with alfresco dining in a lovely courtyard adorned with sweet grapes and flowers. Guests can also enjoy live classical and flamenco guitar music while savoring the buttery guacamole appetizer and tender carne asada main.
Food and service were great. We sat at the outdoor patio in the back as we had our small dog with us. They were kind enough to bring a small bowl of water for our dog! I ordered the pork adovada, and my wife opted for the beef taco salad. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! Plus we were served warm sopapillas with honey! Heaven! The red and green chile served on the side were out if this world. Highly recommended!
John C — Google review
The only thing which attracted me was the cactus planted outside. The food was awful, especially the burrito. The source was overwhelmingly salty and spicy, left no taste for the meat or whatever inside. Taco was ok, side dish spinach was very very salty. Short staffed. There were two waiter serving the entire hall (more than 15 tables). Drinks were never refilled, we were also not provided the desert until we asked for it. Overall unpleasant experience. Feel more like a tourist trap.
Sissi Z — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with both indoors and outdoors seating. I ordered the Reuben with potato salad and I wish the marble rye was more toasted and that the thousand island sauce wasn’t served on the side but rather spread on the bread already. The host (man w/ glasses) and server were super friendly and I had a great time overall. I would come back to try their breakfast menu in the future!
Amanda — Google review
Don’t let the entrance fool you - the place is really huge inside! There was a 20min wait on a Friday afternoon. It’s in the middle of Old Town plaza so it’s a bit of a tourist trap. The court yard inside and the decor is really beautiful. However, the laughs and giggles stopped there when it came to the food. We got the traditional chile rellano and southwestern barbecue chicken salad. The food was stale, the salad on the rellano entree tasted off and the whole entree felt like it was heated in a microwave. The chile rellano was almost cold and seemed to have been prepared a while ago and just reheated. The bbq salad was okay but the chicken pieces in it were overcooked and chewy. I wanted to try new mexican cuisine but the food was damn terrible. The server also forgot to give spinach in the entree and we had to chase him for that to be changed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is probably among the worst bites of food I’ve had. I had to leave almost all of entree as it was so bad. Response to the reply: The salad we ordered was **Southwestern grilled fajita salad. Thank you for mentioning it.
Abhash S — Google review
I often eat southwest style mexican food. I ordered the conbination plate. This, by far, is 2nd to the worst I have had. The rice, beans, enchilada, chile relleno, and tamale were all dried out. Basically, the food was old, not fresh to any extent. The rice was hard, clumped, and tasteless. The masa was flavorless without any resemblance to a true masa. I took one bite of everything-which was more than enough. An employee, at the resort where we stayed, recommended this place who was at our resort. I don't know if they just had a bad day or they just decided to give us the left overs from two days earlier. Our server was very nice.
Sharon T — Google review
Great food and historic building! Ask to sit on the patio (indoors), which has cute tile (not pictured). We enjoyed the sopapillas
Stephanie B — Google review
It's fine. The food is solid, but it's overpriced and not as good as other places in the wider area. The reason you'd come here is because it's in a touristy area and has the local favorites. It serves its purpose.
Joseph R — Google review
After reading about this place and hearing how great it is thought would try it. Well, don't believe the hype. It is very overpriced for what you get. Was very busy but that did not surprise because of the reviews. Finally got seated at a table outside in a corner. Waiter came and took order and it took forever to get order after inquiring about it. Not sure if it was the waiter or just the kitchen staff. Food came out and was nothing to justify the wait. The bread was brought after the meal, not before. Could not get refills on drinks, not sure if that was because they were non alcoholic, because those alcoholic drinks seem to come quickly. Ordered chips and salsa and some of the chips were not even completely cooked. Needless to say if you are looking for some good SW food just keep looking. I am sure there are a lot better options.

Restaurant
El Pinto Restaurant is a beloved Albuquerque establishment housed in an old hacienda surrounded by lush gardens. The restaurant, owned by twin brothers Jim and John Thomas, has been serving up family recipes since 1962. In addition to traditional and health-conscious plates, they offer their famous El Pinto Salsa and Green Chile Sauce for home enjoyment. The property can accommodate over 1,200 guests and features sustainability initiatives such as locally-sourced ingredients grown on-site.
We had a great experience sitting at the bar for dinner and drinks, thanks in large part to Natalia. She was attentive, friendly, and really made the evening enjoyable. We tried the margaritas, sampled a few beers, and had dinner. I’m giving a 5-star review based on our overall experience, especially because of Natalia’s excellent service. That said, I do want to note that the food and drinks felt overpriced. While everything tasted good, the quality didn’t quite match the cost, particularly with the margaritas and steak I had. Still, we had a great time and would definitely return if we were locals. It’s a nice spot with a welcoming vibe and outstanding service.
Wes Z — Google review
El Pinto completely exceeded my expectations. The chili-smothered ribs tasted nothing like I imagined — they were even better. The flavor was bold, smoky, and unforgettable. It left such a strong impression that I’m already looking forward to ordering them again the next time I visit Albuquerque. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at El Pinto was top-notch — lively yet relaxed, with a warm Southwestern charm. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back and try everything on the menu. Whether you’re with friends or enjoying a night out with your partner, it’s an ideal spot to soak in the local flavor. Highly recommended!
Jin-ho Y — Google review
Our group of 35 ate dinner here with a 7:00 reservation. Because it was booked by the travel agent, it was a big buffet. It had 2 kinds of chicken enchiladas, rice, beans, southwestern corn, salad. Also chips and yummy salsa on tables. Everything was very good! The restaurant itself was beautiful. Although huge, it was divided into numerous dining rooms for a comfortable dining experience. Servers were attentive and friendly.
Retired L — Google review
The restaurant is as beautiful as it is historic. It opened in 1972 and you can tell it’s a landmark. There’s a huge wall of fame as you enter the door with pictures of everyone from Mick Jagger to Lil Wayne. It was a great day so we sat outside and it was fantastic, even with the honey bees circling for a shot at some of that delicious honey. The food was great and the beans were well flavored. I mean the beans have to be great at a restaurant called El Pinto right? I had the combo plate #1 and my girl had the ribs. Both were delicious. Even the chips and salsa at the beginning was on point and the salsa had a nice kick. The staff was super friendly and explained what I didn’t understand which was what’s the difference between mild and hot 🔥
Reico R — Google review
El Toro Pinto in Albuquerque, NM is an absolute must-visit! The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything tasted fresh and authentic. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The restaurant itself has a charming vibe — perfect for a relaxing meal or special night out. El Toro Pinto is a true gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience.
Tino P — Google review
Good food, very large restaurant with plenty of patio seating, pet friendly, and excellent service. The aesthetic is casual and comfortable, but lovely. The food feels like comfort food to me, and we enjoyed our meals and our time at El Pinto during a recent visit to Albuquerque.
David H — Google review
Sooooo good. We sat outside. It was a little chilly, but they turned the heater on. This place was beautiful. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was, let's put it this way, you want to take someone on a first date? Take them here. It was big, open and very well maintained. There is a kitty that stopped by and said hi to me. Pop tart was the kitties name. And Pop Tart was sooooooo sweet. Our waiter was a little "distracted" but I'm not one to know what the duties of a waiter are and I do not hold that against them. He was attentive enough. The food was very tasty and a great choice for our trip back from Santa Fe. This was a bit farther from our Airbnb but sooooo worth the drive. You could hear what I think was a wedding party in another section of the restaurant (this place was big!) there was nothing disturbing about it. You could hear it but it wasn't "loud". I really liked this place and would highly recommend it.
FxFalcon — Google review
This place is in such a beautiful location! The atmosphere is incredible! The staff is super friendly! The food was delicious especially the NM green chilies! The margaritas were great too! The prices were on the higher end. There is no better spot to enjoy a good drink, good food, and enjoy family and friends!

Sadie's of New Mexico is a famous chain mexican restaurant in Albuquerque that offers delicious and authentic New Mexican cuisine with happy hour specials, margaritas, and dozens of dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service award-winning.
We enjoyed our food and i love theirchips and salsa. Big portions, good price, nice atmosphere. Service was good. will be back.

Went on a Monday at about 2 pm after searching for the best chile rellenos in New Mexico. We should have known from the full parking lot that the food was good, but the service and the ambiance were fantástico. I ordered the lunch portion of chile rellenos y they were plenty even for a big boy such as I. Didn’t even need to order the guacamole salad, but I had the front porch song stuck in my head and thought that might be the cure. We also had a sopaipilla burger which was huge and loaded up with tasty toppings, we substituted a side salad for fries for a small upcharge and weee presented a very nice display of fresh greens avocado and tomato. Al in all I was extremely pleased with just how wonderful a restaurant Sadie’s is and can’t wait to get back.

Sadie's Mexican Restaurant in downtown Albuquerque is a true gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with vibrant, tasteful decor that sets the perfect mood for a fantastic dining experience—check out the photos and videos to see for yourself! The salsa is an absolute standout, reminiscent of my favorite spot in California but with a fiery kick that I adore (pro tip: the Wi-Fi password is "hotsalsa"!). With over 70 years in business, Sadie's clearly knows how to deliver authentic New Mexican cuisine. We ordered the stuffed sopapillas and enchiladas, and every bite was bursting with incredible flavor. This place is a must-visit—highly recommend! Missed this spot, used to live in NM and passing through had to stop. Holds up to my memories of it from 6-7 years ago. Get ready to eat a quart of salsa before the food even comed out. Also portions are GENEROUS, second photo is a “small” huevos rancheros so bring your appetite.
Will G — Google review
The ambience was good. The new Mexican was excellent. We were served with nachos and salsa at the beginning. We had ordered carne adovado, combination plate. Towards the end we were given soapapilla that can be eaten with honey. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommended
Bhagyashree P — Google review
Every time we find ourselves driving through Albuquerque we make sure to stop and eat at Sadie's! This was our first time at this location. Everything is amazing! From the moment you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like part of the Sadie's family. The restaurant is beautiful, every aspect, everywhere you look, natural elements of New Mexico are woven in. The service is excellent. Today we met Mateo W and he was great! He knew the menu well and answered all of our questions, knew that we could buy frozen tamales to go and the options, took care of our retail purchases at the table, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. The food, as every time we've been to any Sadie's location, was delicious. My husband got the New-Mexi-Cali Burrito and loved it, said it had excellent flavors. I ordered the Sadie's Combination Plate with a tamale, taco, and chile relleno. It was all very good, but that tamale was on point. Hence why we have a dozen frozen in the cooler on the ride home! We finished the meal with sopapillas and honey - the perfect complement to cool your face back down to normal. Fair warning: If you aren't used to New Mexican spices and heat... it's HOT! We joked through the meal how we could only feel part of our faces, the rest were numb from the heat... and I'm part Cajun and LOVE spice! LOL
Melanie K — Google review
Amazing food, salsa of course is one of the best you will ever try and good amount of heat. Chile is very bold with traditional flavors and again a good amount of heat. Can't go wrong with red or green. The sopas are without a doubt the best I have ever tried...
Jude F — Google review
I do not do spice, but my family liked everything except the pozole. The chicken fried steak was crispy and juicy. Also going to look for the prickly pear margarita at Specs! It was good.

Monroe's Restaurant is a beloved dining spot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, offering a mix of New Mexican and American cuisine. This family-friendly diner-style restaurant serves up classic dishes like burgers alongside authentic New Mexican fare. With a menu catering to various dietary needs, including gluten-free and vegetarian options, Monroe's goes the extra mile to accommodate all guests. From its humble beginnings as a small drive-in near Old Town, Monroe's has grown into a nationally recognized establishment while still maintaining its local charm.
First time visit. Wonderful experience. Great service from the staff as the have an “open wait” format, meaning any server or employee can and will help you. Flawless attention to detail. Food is excellent, portions are huge, atmosphere is classy, food was out so quickly. Started with the fresh made from scratch guacamole. Killer stuff. For the main course, I had the seafood enchiladas, wife had the cheese enchiladas. Complimentary sopapillas (sic) were fantastic. Prices are so reasonable. Raspberry sweet tea is great. Will definitely darken the doorway again in the future. Can’t go wrong here.

Dinner was fantastic tonight at Monroe's! My wife and her mother and I enjoyed the friendly staff that waited on us over such delicious New Mexican cuisine! Fabulous!

Very friendly staff and delicious New Mexican food. We got the Indian Taco, enchiladas, and plain sopaipilla. The enchiladas are small but tasty. The Indian Taco is delicious and my husband especially enjoyed the shredded they use. Green chili was good. First time trying sopaipilla won't be the last! Prices are fair for the quality and quantity you get. Absolutely worth a stop!
Julia J — Google review
Big, fluffy sopaipillas! I ordered the Indian taco (on fry bread). The food was pretty standard—nothing special, but nothing bad either. It seems to be nostalgic for most people and offers a lot of options for everyone.
Steph K — Google review
I ordered a half of sheet of enchiladas. They were so greasy no one could eat them. The plates were full of grease. When I called and spoke to the manger he told me it was from the cheese. Take a good look at the phots. It was so bad no one could eat them. I was told I could get a credit for half of what I paid for it. No thanks. This was a cater order.

Monroes is great. If they had fluffy tortillas made fresh, they would be better.

First visit to this location. Desert and mid afternoon coffee. Service was fast and friendly. The sopasunday was to die for!
David A — Google review
Wow! $46 for breakfast for 2. The server offered chips and salsa, sopa, red or green; without knowing it, everything was charged ala carte. The surprise came with the receipt. The potatoes were so yellow that they seemed to have jaundice. I ate nothing, the carne adovada was so watery. The coffee was so old. The service was horrible, but the server was sure to be there to pick up the tip. I will go elsewhere, the food and service used to be good a few years ago. Will not recommend anymore.

El Patio De Albuquerque is a cozy and popular spot in Nob Hill, near the University of New Mexico campus. It offers traditional New Mexican cuisine with a variety of vegetarian options. The menu features spicy and authentic dishes such as blue-corn enchiladas, huevos rancheros, and carne adovada. This beloved restaurant has been serving Southwestern home cooking since 1977 and has garnered consistently positive reviews from locals.
Chill place for some good Southwestern flare. The enchiladas were good. The fluffy pastry was fantastic! Great service too!
C H — Google review
A charming, cozy spot with a warm, boutique feel. The food was overall good. The fajitas were not the best I had, the seasoning of the beef was a bit off and very much on the salty side. The Mexican coke was $6, which is nice—they could’ve just robbed you but they still give you a coke :D. The coke also tasted pretty mediocre, not the differences that we were expecting from cane sugar. The flan was absolutely horrible.l, the worst that I had. The sopaipilla was quite enjoyable, 2nd best we had, just next to cocina azul— sweet, still fragrant but not as fragrant and soft. The green chili stew was super flavorful, definitely worth it. The stuffed sopaipilla was not bad, but nothing special. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Yunong S — Google review
Great restaurant with a friendly, comfortable vibe. Patio dining includes canine friendly spaces and inside is nicely decorated and cozy. The food was delicious! Fajitas and a burger with egg were tried and enjoyed, A definite place to return to!!

This is a must stop if you are taking a road trip along I-40. The food was amazing especially with the vegetarian friendly options. The highlight was definitely our server Jimmy. He was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us so many ideas to plan the rest of our stay in ABQ. This place should not be missed.

Rayn was attentive and provided incredible service. I highly recommend the carne adovada inside a sopapilla, with red chile topped with an egg!

Great food. Enjoyed pan seared fish taco and chile rellenos. Yummy.

Friendly staff and delicious food! I had the "El Patio Combination" which can be made vegetarian by having a bean taco. Seating is available outside, on a small patio, or inside.

Food was great. Service was iffy. Sharp in responses, no warning about “wine” Rita’s until they were served and we asked to be able to purchase a side shot of tequila.

Tamale shop
El Modelo Mexican Foods is a long-standing casual eatery in Albuquerque, known for its authentic Mexican cuisine. Since 1929, it has been a go-to spot for flavorful homemade dishes like tamales, enchiladas, and stuffed sopapillas. The restaurant started as a small tortilla business and has grown to offer an array of traditional Mexican fare. Customers rave about the huge tamales available for purchase by the dozen.
Red chile tamales are amazing. I could only eat half of the #3 fresh. My partner and I ate the rest as 6 day old, refrigerated leftovers and the flavors and food was still amazing. That’s an amazing feat for a restaurant to brag about. I’d definitely go back again when visiting New Mexico.
Tyler — Google review
The food was good, and the handmade sopapilla was especially delicious. Customer service was solid as well. My only critique is the excessive packaging—there was a lot of paper used to wrap the food, which felt wasteful and actually made the presentation look less appealing than the food deserved. From a sustainability standpoint, simplifying the packaging would go a long way and better reflect the quality of the meal.

The I got a green chile chicken burrito. It was good. I liked it. Chile wasn't hot. For 8 bucks, it was fairly small than I would've liked. I'm open to giving this place another shot. They got a big menu. But yeah. Overall, it was good.
TeamFurjan — Google review
The Mexican food at El Modelo' s was very delicious and authentic. The food was packed with care and a smile. The place is not for sit-down eating. After ordering and paying, you are given a number. When your food is ready, your number is called. After proceeding to the counter, you receive your food, and it is that simple. There are a few benches outside to sit and eat, but not my recommendation. In my opinion it is not at all a sit-down restaurant or cafe.

On this visit I ordered the Chicharrone burrito. It definitely hit the spot for a quick dinner. El Modelo, you place an order at the counter and then you wait for your order to get called. There’s no tables inside, there’s a patio area and picnic benches around the area to sit at. Next time I come back I’d like to try their stuffed sopaipillas.

Stopped by what used to be our favorite restaurant, ordered 1 doz green chicken tamales frozen as we were getting on a plane, got home pulled them out of bag so looking forward to them and it was red chili and pork! Called them and got no where! $48 for the wrong food. My husband ate one and said it was not the same as it used to be. What a major disappointment. Everything is going down hill since Covid your employees can make or break you. We won’t be back.

A friend of mine got me a breakfast sopapilla and it was terrific. I highly recommend getting one. I has the bacon, green chile version and it was delicious. Had beans on the side and they were great as well. Ate at his house so can't speak to the service or atmosphere but will definitely go there to get more food
Robert H — Google review
A simple walk up counter that you order at, then wait in the lobby for your order to be ready. There is no indoor seating but several tables outside you can enjoy your food at. Traditional New Mexican food- really yummy breakfast burritos and the sopaipillas looked amazing. A glimpse into the kitchen shows many ladies working hard to make your tasty and affordable meal. They also sell tamales and tortillas to grab and go. Glad we stumbled upon this place!

Nestled in a charming 100-year-old house, Casa de Benavidez is a delightful family-owned restaurant that brings the essence of traditional Mexican cuisine to life. With its serene garden patio and soothing waterfall, it offers diners a peaceful retreat while enjoying generous portions of classic dishes. The fajitas are particularly popular, alongside unique offerings like burgers wrapped in sopaipilla and hearty chimichangas filled with beef.
Definitely a must try New Mexican spot in Albuquerque! The food is superb! When you start eating your taste buds will be yearning for more! I ordered the red chile chicken enchiladas and my wife got the cheese enchiladas Christmas. We both enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was awesome too, they had someone playing live guitar there while we ate. Service was on point and very professional. Definitely a five 🌟 star location. If you are hungry and get the chance go here! You will not be disappointed that's for sure! They'll top you off leaving satisfied with their sopapillas!

Casa de Benavidez never disappoints! My husband had the shredded beef chimi, and I enjoyed a combo plate with a chile relleno and cheese enchilada. Generous portions—though I wished I had a little more for leftovers! The sopapillas were perfectly pillowy, and the Baileys coffee was so fresh it made me realize I might actually like hot coffee after all. Service was quick, our server was attentive, and the hostess was incredibly sweet and welcoming 💖 We’ll definitely be back soon!

I haven't been to Albuquerque to eat at this restaurant in over 20 years. It is still the absolute best and the service is phenomenal! If you're ever looking for something truly authentic New Mexican make sure you come here.
Rodney C — Google review
The food is fabulous with an awesome atmosphere wether you are seated inside or outside. The staff is very professional. Their enchiladas are delicious. The deserts were fabulous. There were 5 of there and the cost was about 20 a person including chips, drinks, and salsa lunch for five and desert! What a bargain for such a fantastic venue!

An Unforgettable Group Lunch at Casa de Benavidez a true gem of a restaurant I couldn't recommend this place more if you like great food and great service. My coworkers and I recently had a fantastic lunch at Casa de Benavidez. There were 15 of us, so we expected some hiccups, but the service was truly amazing. Our waitress took every single order without writing a thing down and still managed to get them all exactly right! Not a single mistake was made. The food itself was outstanding. My plate was loaded with delicious, authentic New Mexican cuisine, and it was clear everyone else felt the same way. At the end of the meal, there were nothing but empty plates all around. Only three people had to-go boxes, and that was only because the portions were so generous they couldn't finish it all. This place is definitely a great spot for a large group. The service is top-notch, and the food is even better. We'll absolutely be back!

My family had a belated Father’s Day’s celebration at Casa Benavidez. Everything was amazing. The hostess Christy went above and beyond to greet and seat us. Jessica, our server was friendly and took great care of our table of five. Three of us ordered the chimichanga (one carne adovada and two chunky beef) with no regrets. So delicious. My mom ordered the beef fajita stuffed sopapilla and my partner destroyed the cheese enchiladas as you can tell from the half eaten plate. Everything was delicious. Thank you so much to the amazing staff and manager-Margie for the wonderful experience. ♥️ Please be patient as they have limited staff so seating and the food might take a tiny bit longer but it is absolutely worth it. Also check their hours which are abbreviated as they are closed on Sundays and close early at 1 pm on Saturdays. I encourage you to sit on the beautiful patio or in the enclosed section with a gorgeous view of the green courtyard. Don’t forget to say hi to the koi, as the pond is my favorite spot. Enjoy your own adventure and bring your loved ones.

My family made a reservation for 10 people at another restaurant. When we arrived they had no record of a reservation and said there would be a 60 minute wait. I called Casa de Benavidez to see if they could fit us in. They agreed and had a table ready when we arrived, 10 minutes later. The food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend for any event or family get together. This will be our new go to spot for mexican food! 👌

Known for its fresh fish tacos, the restaurant serves up an array of quick bites with a Mexican twist that will leave your taste buds dancing.
We have always passed by the building driving down Central and finally decided to stop in on New Years Eve! Sharky’s has been in business 10 years and now we know why! So delicious and filling and extremely affordable. We had 5 shrimp tacos (really delicious), assortment of salsas and crema, drink and fried zucchini all for $26! We will be coming more regularly and can’t wait to try their other menu items!

First of all I would like to say the food is good here. It was my first time trying this restaurant. We decided to give it a try because on their website it states there is a drive thru, however when we went it was closed off with planters and not being utilized. This posed a deterrent for me, however since there was not many people in line we decided to get down and order at the window. While ordering at the window I asked the cashier if the provided salsa in containers and she advised that they did not and pointed to the salsa bar outside. While waiting for our order outside for approximately 20 minutes I observed the following: The salsa bar which is located outside was being utilized by multiple people to serve themselves. A lot of people were handling the spoons as well as the containers and lids. Throughout the time we were there the serving spoons were never disinfected nor wiped, and lid remained open the whole time. (There are no sneeze guards over this salsa bar) They also had a serving tray with bottles of different hot sauces, which people were grabbing and taking to their tables and returning them back to the tray after eating. In the time I spent waiting those too were not wiped down after use. Once our order was complete we passed on the condiments for these reasons. I will not be returning as I feel in my opinion they are not taking the proper precautions during this pandemic by maintaining cleanliness. I also observed that none of the employees were wearing gloves. For these reasons I did not give more stars on my review. If you read my review, please hit the like button. Thank you.

This resturant has been here as far back as I can remember, and I have always felt uncomfortable eating seafood at small restaurants. This place came highly rated by a chef I know so we had to give it a try. Man am I glad we did! The fish tacos were one of the highlights and were soo fresh, light and just amazing. The fish was battered beautifully and had such great flavor! The Carne asada and el pastor tacos were amazing as well! We ordered the chili caribe which is a Jalapeño stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon and they were very flavorful as well. Another highlight surprisingly was their zucchini fries! These are some of the absolute best zucchini fries i have had and will definitely order them everytime i go. Went back 2 times that same week because we were craving this place! I also reccomend trying out their salsa bar as well as thier sauces at the table. They do have one familiar space "tapatio" but the others are not common at any resturant and are absolutely amazing! The outdoor patio with misters was nice and you dont feel like your in Albuquerque, but at a food dive along the ocean. Check it out!

Fabulous prices. Had the Fish Basket today-$10. Several pieces of juicy, tender lightly breaded fish. Last time I ordered the Ceviche Tostada. It was delicious and had a large serving of the Ceviche on the Tostada. Definitely a great value place for the prices. The place feels very local and I can't wait to start eating outside on their patio! Also, this sauce is the bomb! 🔥🔥🔥

If you're in the area, find this place. We were delighted to have fabulous fish tacos in the middlenif New Mexoco. No matter how much our friends laughed at us! Yes, the fish (fried) tacos were $3 each--they were delicious. The tacos came with two sauces, one spicy and one tangy. Both were great (the tangy was my favorite!) We found the staff to be fun and we loved the atmosphere of their out door eating patio. We highly recommend!!

Don Choche Tacos Y Cerveza is a hidden gem located in Los Ranchos, offering an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine and a great selection of Mexican beers. The restaurant is known for its fantastic agua chile and molcajete dishes, as well as a variety of flavorful salsas available at the salsa bar.
Probably the best taco joint in Albuquerque. Good service. Great tacos and truly massive burritos. I’m not the biggest totes fan but the tortas here are legit. Staff were super nice. Free chips and salsa bar. Make sure to buy extra salsa cups when you order. Outside seating with heaters is doable even when it’s kinda chilly outside. The Strawberry margarita was average and I wouldn’t order again.

One day a year or so ago, my husband and I randomly came here for a michelada. We definitely were not disappointed, so we went back a few weeks ago. The michelada is huge and very tasty. I like mine with a lot of Clamato, so they were nice enough to give me some extra juice without charging extra, which is always appreciated. They also gave us chips and salsa with our drinks, which was a nice bonus. We have not tried the food here yet, but we will definitely be going back to get another michelada and some food! Love drinking on their patio as well, very nice outdoor area. We also ended up not realizing when they closed and stayed a bit past while they were closing up and they were nice enough to let us finish our drinks and conversation without rushing us out. Definitely check this place out!

Best tacos I’ve ever had! Im celiac so finding safe gluten free foods at restaurants is very scary and I usually avoid it, but we are traveling through NM and really wanted some good real tacos. My boyfriend went in to order to go for us and explained to the woman helping him about my “allergy” and she was SO beyond helpful and attentive. He said he even heard her go to the kitchen and explain exactly how my food needed to be prepared 🥹🥹🥹. On top of that awesome customer service the tacos were SO SO good.. legitimately the best I’ve ever had! 1000/10.

Frontier Restaurant, a beloved Albuquerque establishment since 1971, offers a down-to-earth dining experience with American and New Mexican cuisine. Located near the University of New Mexico, it's popular among students for its late-night hours. The culturally-infused space features local and national artworks, including those representing John Wayne. Guests can enjoy dishes like the breakfast burrito and the Duke City burger in a charming adobe architecture setting that promises an authentic taste of Old Town history.
Took my father in law back to this place. He told me he used to go often in 70s. And oh man the flavor of the famous green chili stew has not changed. The price are so incredible inexpensive. Service is great. And the line go thru really quickly. They have a self serve salsa, (hot and cold) really good. They house made tortilla really fresh. We ended up going back in the evening just for a couple bowls of green chili stew.

This is THE restaurant in Albuquerque that you cannot miss. Great atmosphere, we arrived around 8:30pm after the tramway ride, but the place was still buzzed. A dozen or so staffs were still busy in the open kitchen, taking orders or serving food. The restaurant is huge, almost a block long, but it was still almost full. The food, yes, the food was great, the portion was generous and the price was more than reasonable. The tortillas were as fresh and fragrant as it can be, best tortillas that I had. The tortilla chips were warm, thin, crispy, also the best that I had, cannot go back to pre-made ones anymore. The taco was wonderful, juicy beef, fresh veggies, pretty addictive. We also tried the famous cinnamon roll, it was not bad, but not memorable at all. Overall, frontier certainly lives up to the hype, I absolutely loved it. It would be great if they also serve sopaipilla.

We Google searched for a place to eat before hitting the highway to drive home. We found this place to be open but the second we walked in the old lady was very rude. Must have been way past her bedtime. The food was ok. The sweet roll was dry and too hard for them to even be serving. The refried beans were yummy though. There was a young kid working and he was absolutely a gem. I hope he succeeds in life.

We came here starving after a nice hike and accidentally came right after the church rush on a Sunday morning. This place was packed. The line was a little long but it went through very quickly and we were able to order in less than 5 minutes. The food that came out felt home-cooked and was so affordable. These are prices that are probably closer to pre-2010 levels. I ordered the half enchilada with the beef and the green chili and it was so good. The fries are very crunchy and you can tell they've been fried twice to give it that texture. Highly recommend this place as a New Mexico must visit

I was traveling through from Alabama and I was craving something local to NM. I asked a few local people for recommendations. I then ordered the Huevos Rancheros with "Christmas" peppers on top and a green chili cheeseburger (with corn tortilla for less carbs). Both were really good. I then went back for a bowl of the green chili stew, which was also highly recommended. I will say, the "pop" of vibrant flavors I was looking for wasn't there, but the food was overall pretty good. Finally, I got a cinnamon roll for my wife back home. I sampled a bite while there and it was just ok, nothing spectacular. I'd visit again when passing through. There's absolutely no way a semi-truck w/ trailer could fit here, but I was able to park with just my tractor a few bloakcs away. (I left the trailer at my delivery down the road)

The food is absolutely delicious! I got green chicken enchiladas because that's what I always get when I go to a New Mexican restaurant for the first time. The flavor and tenderness of the shredded chicken took my breath away. They do not skimp with the chile or the chicken. The rice is well seasoned and perfectly al dente, not mushy or bland at all. It came with a freshly made tortilla and honey, essentially a personal size sopapilla. Also got the beef nachos on the side and even that was made with care and flavor. The staff behind the counter were efficient and kind and the staff out cleaning were so sweet and helpful. There's so much sitting room and the decor is a great blend of rustic and nostalgic. I would definitely go back again and again!

Always a hit and fantastic breakfast at Frontier. The Huevos Rancheros green were absolutely delicious! Talk about busy, but what do you expect on Central Avenue right across from UNM. But as busy as they were, service was still fast and friendly. As many, many times as I have visited throughout the decades I always spot a new piece of artwork. I always enjoy seeing all the beautifully framed pieces of artwork. I can’t wait to go back again and enjoy another beautiful Sunday breakfast with my Babe.

Garduño's of Mexico Restaurant & Cantina at Old Town, nestled within Hotel Albuquerque, offers a warm and casual setting with a convivial atmosphere. The restaurant provides an authentic Mexican dining experience with friendly and attentive staff that enhances the overall dining experience. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner both indoors and on the outdoor patio. Additionally, it is known for its delicious margaritas and New Mexican staple - biscochitos from Celinas Biscochitos in Los Ranchos.
Very beautiful restaurant and friendly staff there. The food is so delicious my favorite thing on the menu is the combination plate. A lot of food on your plate at a great price. The manager Irma came to visit our table and made us feel so welcomed. We were there for my birthday and she came out with singers and made it so special. i’m truly thankful for the warm experience there . i will always go back and eat there . it was a great place to eat.

The restaurant's name has a special place in the heart of anyone who's lived in Albuquerque. It is certainly in a beautiful hotel lobby! The service was attentive but a bit slow. I ordered their massive bowl of red chile. When I got the beef option, I was expecting carnitas. It was indeed a massive bowl but was essentially red enchilada sauce topped with ground beef and the trimmings they promised. The dish tasted very good! The waitress was also kind enough to bring me the tortilla and beans that the menu said were supposed to come with a dish, when I asked for them.

Absolutely WORST management! My son was getting married in Hotel Albuquerque and we reserved Garduno’s for the rehearsal dinner. Not only did they lose the reservation and did not have the taco bar ready for our wedding party, but they’re very shady with their billing. The bar service is incredibly slow so when I was closing the tab, the bartender only gave me the credit card receipt not an itemized receipt. I would’ve left a tip on the credit card receipt, but I thought I should see the itemized receipt to make sure I knew what was being charged. Sure enough there was already a gratuity there for 23% and that was also 23% of the taxes. When I brought this up to the manager, he became extremely defensive and argumentative. My friend who is also a restaurant mgr was with us and she said it should never be more than 20%, more typically 18%. The service was horrible, they were understaffed, the bar line took more than 30 minutes to get one drink, they were shady in how they charged the tab, they didn’t have the rehearsal reservation even though it was confirmed earlier that week, and the manager was rude, dismissive, defensive, and unprofessional. And the food? Oversalted and mediocre at best. AVOID this place!!!!!

Love this place! Located in the historic Hotel Albuquerque which has a cute gift shop inside, too. My favorite meal is the chicken fettuccine with green chili’s. I add shrimp and it comes with 2 sopapillas. They melt in your mouth. The salsa served with the free chips is way too spicy. The cheese dip is yummy and so is the guacamole. This restaurant has a great old-town feel and last time I was there they had a musician playing his acoustic guitar singing Spanish songs.
Travis B — Google review
I had an extremely disappointing experience today (Monday 9/29/25 @ 2:00pm) while attempting to dine at Garduno's, which was supposed to be a highlight during our trip to Albuquerque. My family and I, as tourists looking for a memorable last meal before flying out, chose this iconic place with high expectations. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We waited over 10 minutes to be seated, only to find ourselves having to track down a server. When we finally approached her, she immediately made a false and frankly offensive implication that my mother-in-law was stealing, saying, “Those items are reserved for this group,” with a tone and manner that felt racially loaded. Her words and dismissive attitude felt racially undertones and completely unprofessional. The server, who appeared disheveled and seemed to be in her late 50s or early 60s, was rude and dismissive beyond belief. She rudely directed us to the bar, stating they were only serving appetizers, without any apology or attempt to accommodate us. Her demeanor was unprofessional and unpleasant, making the entire experience feel uncomfortable and unacceptable. Sadly, this experience tarnished what should have been a special visit to this iconic Albuquerque restaurant. The racial undertones and the rude behavior of this staff member left us feeling unwelcome and deeply disappointed. This is not what we expected from a restaurant that’s supposed to be a local landmark. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially tourists looking for a warm, welcoming dining experience.

Had a great time here for breakfast the other day. We were the only ones inside, so the service was rapid. The hosts were very friendly, cracked jokes with us, and the food was excellent. Decently sized portions as well. Atmospheric and located inside a beautiful hotel hotel. Highly recommend.

We stopped by for lunch. The house margarita and appetizer guacamole were great with their tortilla chips. Her green chili cheeseburger was excellent as were the crispy fries. My tacos lost cohesion with the shells sticking together and the heat from the filling blowing out the bottom but the shredded beef and jack cheese filling was delicious. Very friendly service, quick to check in in and give refills.

I have had the pleasure of coming to eat at gardunos very often with my family. We have always had the best experience there and have made it a go to every time we visit Albuquerque . It has become a family favorite of ours. The food is absolutely delicious and the restaurant always has excellent service . We have always been greeted and have become well known in the restaurant because of how often we go. Irma Lisa is one of the most genuine and kind owners. With its bright and inviting atmosphere, it's a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. Diners can also indulge in Southwest-inspired burgers alongside generous portions that ensure no one leaves hungry.
This is a sweet taste of New Mexico hidden in a neighborhood in Albuquerque. We were on our way through New Mexico and found this on Trip Advisor and the reviews were spot on. Everything about this gem was first class. We tried the soups and found out you can order a cup size, which was plenty since we added a taco plate. I had the green chili chicken soup that was so creamy and rich. My wife got the Fideo which she said reminded her of the way her mom made it. We shared the street taco plate that has six small tacos but you can change up the proteins. My loved her brisket and I got the battered fish one. Both rocked it! You finish the meal with a complimentary sopapillas (fried dough) that you cover with honey. Definitely a highlight from our trip.

Food was excellent , the service was good. I definitely recommend this restaurant. My only negative is that you have to pay for your chips. Generally for anyone that eats Mexican food know chips come free with salsa. But still great food and they even give you a couple sopapillas free which was very nice. Great place.

I grabbed a chicken burrito smothered in green chili, and wow, I realized again how much I love green chili! The beans were tasty, the sopapillas were awesome, and the staff was super welcoming for my first visit. The place felt a little busy, but takeout was quick and easy. Don’t skip the sopapillas, they’re the best part!

Arrived 25 minutes before closing and was greeted by the staff who said they were closing. I would have enjoyed eating there but I ordered to go. The food didn’t disappoint me, I usually visit ABQ once a year and their food is consistently great. We ordered shrimp tacos and cheese enchiladas. Decent size portions, green chile (chicken) soup is good and addictive if you like chicken and a kick of a spice, just good enough spicy! Tortilla chips are homes made and tasted fresh low on salt 👍

WOW just WOW this place was fantastic it is probably one of the best burritos I've had and the Calabacitas was to die for. Our waitress was super nice. I would highly recommend.

After a long day on Rt 66 our Airbnb host gave us this restaurant to check out! It was perfect! Our server was fantastic & the food was delicious!

Bustling place, where we got the taste of green chile stew for the first time, and the stew was so zesty! The sopaipillas were so light and savory, and the flan was densely tasty. The sopaipillas pizza was heavily laden with chicken and so delicious! The chips and salsa were tasty, though a few of the chips were just powdery bits. The dark coconut tea was wonderfully reviving. The decor is dominated by wooden accents, and some lovely narrative paintings. The service was friendly and quick, he just forgot to give us cutlery, but given how busy it was, it was an easy miss. He quickly fixed it once reminded.

First off, our server Luis T. was beyond amazing in every way!!! Our food was delicious! I got the "pizza" with ground beef, mom got the ribeye tacos and my husband got the ground beef tacos. We had sides of calabacitas, whole beans, rice and fideos, all of them were awesome! Everything was seriously delicious! Only downside was how loud the dining room was, but it was also lunch rush, so understandable. Came back again, had Alfredo as our server, who was beyond amazing as well. We had the taquitos which were good. We also got the chicken fried steak and egg breakfast with the creamy green chile gravy and a side of red chile, it was absolutely delicious!!! Chips & both salsa's were yummy as well! Thanks for another great meal!!!

Authentic mexican dishes served in a unpretentious, earth toned setting at Cervantes Restaurant & Lounge. The lounge is spacious and ideal for relaxing with guests, before settling down to taste delicious traditional Mexican food. The menu offers all the favorites from enchiladas plates to seafood tacos, and the food is good, proving just the right portion size for lunchtime. Service is friendly and delivery speedy, making this a great spot for New Mexican cuisine in Kirtland.
Great experience with food and service! Sherry my server was quick and got my order, she is a very hard worker who served us 14 people so it was very impressive to see. She deserves the raise. The owner Iris was exceptional she cared about the customers and also gave us safety tips on our trip and how to keep our car safe from any dangers. I highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to coming back.

Family recommended that we try this next time we're in Albuquerque. Other than being in a rough part of town, the food was good and the restaurant was clean. It's on my go to list from now on when I'm in the area flavors are really good.

The place has a surreal, old world decor and ambience. The food was authentic New Mexican, very tasty. Green and red Chile, both delicious, red is a little spicier. The sopapillas were amazing. Staff and service was fast, attentive and friendly. Checked all our boxes. Will definitely visit again. Top choice in ABQ for new Mexican cuisine.

Fun place to stop! Tamales were some of the best my husband ever had. Great enchilada plate. Red sauce was killer. Taco salad good but mild seasoning. Margarita A++ and sophapia (?) was quite good as well. Server, Kyle was fantastic, great energy and service.

Passing through town, this place was recommended to me. I am really happy I came. The chile relleno's were spot on and would recommend. As an added plus, the mariachi band was great and unexpected.

18 dollar huevos rancheros with a tiny portion of carne adovada. I literally had more lettuce than hashbrowns on my plate. Photo attached is not eaten off of yet. Our server was really nice. The atmosphere inside is nice but its a tough area. We were a large party and nobody was impressed with the portions. Steep prices and small plates was the consensus at our table.

Mary & Tito's Cafe is a long-standing modest eatery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that has been serving acclaimed New Mexican cuisine since 1963. Located near the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, this charming adobe dwelling offers an authentic Southwestern dining experience. The menu features signature dishes like carne adovada and sopapillas, along with a variety of options catering to different dietary needs such as gluten-free, vegan/vegetarian, and dairy-free choices.
I had an absolutely fantastic meal! The food was amazing from start to finish. The chili was perfectly seasoned, rich, and flavorful—comfort food at its finest. The green chili, however, was the real standout—bold, vibrant, and packed with just the right amount of heat. Every bite was a delight. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Service was great, the atmosphere was quaint, but the star of the show was the meals we had. I had the "Mexican pizza" or what I've personally renamed an open-faced sopapilla, and my wife had the chicken enchiladas; we both went 🎄 on each of our plates. My flavors were delicious and the chicken enchiladas my wife had were excellent. We did think the complimentary salsa with the chips was a little sweet in our opinion; otherwise we loved it - from the airport to here. See you next time 👋🏼

This place is iconic and 1000% honest New Mexico style cuisine. It is like the food that is shared on Sunday afternoon with chisme, cafe and cariño. Grandma singing in the kitchen and waitresses happy 😊 to be there serving newly arrived family. The enchiladas red and green were marvelous and bien sabrosas. My waitress’ Elizabeth and Tania were excellent and polite. Note: I went earlier to another famous but bland known restaurant; this restaurant is truly good and tasty.

A hole in a wall that gives you authentic homemade Mexican food. We had a bowl of green chili, chimichangas, a large combination plate 1. Every was flavorful. The homemade salsa had a slight hint of spice that makes it delicious. Parking was limited in their lot but street parking is available. No alcohol on site. (We were craving margaritas) nonetheless we left very full and happy.

The unassuming building doesn't match the food, which is top notch! The salsa and chips are complimentary and very good. I ordered a large combination plate. A relleno with green, a ground beef taco and a blue corn cheese and onion rolled enchilada. The red was exceptional! My wife had a stuffed sopaphilla which is more like a turnover, being fried after stuffed. The prices were what I remember paying 5 years ago! If you have friends coming into town visit here to be served the best and affordable New Mexican food!

The Pace hot chunky salsa was my first warning. The food was meh. Cheese enchilada was funky. The tamale was good. The beef in the beef taco had no seasoning or flavor. I went in with big expectations and left disappointed. Service was excellent though.

I came here with my fiancé on a Saturday afternoon, the place was busy, we were seated right away. The bus boy came over and took our drink order, they then brought Salsa and Chips to our table (They were good) .. after that we sat there for quite some time, the staff kept walking past us, we both had our menus down and it was obvious that we were ready to order, after another 30 minutes, the bus boy came back over to see if we needed any refills, I told him that we have been sitting there for awhile and no one had took our order, he apologized and told us someone would be with us shortly, we waited another 10-15 minutes and finally a gentleman came over and took our order, we honestly felt like the staff was ignoring us, it ruined the experience for us, the food was good, but the poor customer service that we received really left a bad taste in our mouth and we will not be back.
Ross P — Google review
This is my favorite New Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque. We go here every time we visit our family. They have the best chunky red chile I’ve tasted. They told me they soften the red chile pods then scrape the chile meat out and into a blender it goes. So good!! I love their green chile possibly just as much and always get a bowl of green chile stew with beans added to it. Yum!! My mom and wife had fried “turnovers” (thicker than a sopapilla) stuffed with Carne Adovada (red chile… baked pork). And then smothered in red and green chile (see photos). It was the tastiest dish we had that day. I had a combo plate with a taco, enchilada and Chile Relleno with whole beans and rice. And a side of green chile stew. So good!!! My son helped me with my taco - since I ordered too much - but I had to try most everything! He liked the taco but thought the meat needed “taco seasoning” and I have to agree. But it was like my mom used to make when we were growing up in NM. My 10 year old son ate four tacos - which was his new record!! The staff was astonished at how many he ate. 🤩 Highly recommended place you must go to!! 🌮❤️‍🔥

Padilla's Mexican Kitchen is a hidden gem located in an unassuming strip mall in Albuquerque. This family-owned restaurant has been serving up fantastic New Mexican cuisine for over 30 years. The no-frills, sociable atmosphere makes it a favorite spot for many locals. The friendly servers are always ready to offer recommendations, and the flavorful sauces and dips perfectly complement the expertly spiced food.
Felt very homey, we had a great waitress. The food tasted very good (I took a few bites before taking a picture🌚) and it came out hot! (Which is always good) the red chile was out of this world! Please remember they do not take cards they are a cash only business. 10/10
Rose S — Google review
I was referred to this restaurant by a client, and I met my brother here for lunch. First and foremost, it's cash only! The restaurant has an authentic New Mexico ambiance. Their chips and salsa come in very small portions, but you can get free refills. I ordered the combination plate with green chile on the side, which I ended up pouring all over my food to add some flavor. The rice was dry, but the beans were delicious. The taco and tamale lacked flavor, while the cheese enchiladas were very good. Our server was nice, attentive, and friendly. Although we were there during the lunch rush and the place was quite busy, we managed to be served promptly. However, parking can be difficult to find since they share the lot with a laundromat and other businesses. All in all, I would rate this establishment a 5 out of 10.

Good food, not too much I didn't leave feeling stuffed and sick. I got the GC chicken enchiladas, certain days they don't have carne adovada. They only take cash or check, come prepared. We got there on a weekday, right when doors opened and within 20 minutes the place was packed. They're doing something right.
Cory M — Google review
We did not notice it was cash only--we lucked out and had some cash (not always a given). The service was excellent. Our main server came over right away and advised us to order quickly ahead of a huge table next to us that would have delayed our meal, and at least two other servers came by regularly to offer water refills and ask if we needed anything. The food was very good, BUT as a vegetarian, noticing there was meat in the red sauce, without warning, was disconcerting. Rather than complain, we kind of scraped it off, but yikes. The sopapillas were terrific.

We went on Thursday because their online menu shows Thursdays special to be Carnitas. When we arrived the parking lot was packed and the restaurant was very busy. We only had to wait about seven minutes for a table, so not bad considering how busy they were. Andreas was our server and he was awesome!! He made a few recommendations and I ended up going with the blue corn enchiladas with carnitas and the hubby ordered cheese enchiladas with a side of the red chili. To say that the food was GREAT is an understatement. We checked in with Lawrence at the door and later he came and sat at our table for a few minutes to make sure everything was good. He told us this is a family owned restaurant and they have been open since 1977. The quality of the food and the staff explains why they have been so successful. When we are back in Albuquerque we will definitely be coming back to Padilla's. Be sure to bring cash as they don’t take credit or debt cards. Prices are more than reasonable.

One of our favorite New Mexican style restaurants. We eat there probably once a week because the food is that good and the prices are reasonable. La Salita Restaurant has been a beloved family-friendly spot since 1978, serving up authentic New Mexican cuisine. The casual and comfortable atmosphere welcomes diners to savor traditional favorites like chiles rellenos and flat blue corn enchiladas made from scratch with the freshest ingredients. This establishment values community relationships and aims to turn every new guest into a regular customer by delivering exceptional handcrafted New Mexico food.
We hosted my graduation party at La Salita, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their event space and support. From start to finish, the staff was helpful, responsive, and incredibly kind. The buffet was ready right on time, the food was delicious (everyone raved about it!), and the space had just the right energy—warm, festive, and relaxed. La Salita offers a private event space for up to 40 people, and it was perfect for our group. It's also affordable for the quality and service you receive. Whether you're planning a graduation, birthday, family gathering, or baby shower- I highly recommend them. They have great food and drinks, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Our guests loved the margaritas especially. Huge thanks to the La Salita team for helping make our celebration so memorable!

3.5 stars. I found La Salita via a google search of restaurants in the area of my Airbnb that had 4+ stars. When I arrived I was greeted very kindly and every staff member I interacted with during my visit was attentive, caring, and truly wonderful. I ordered a turkey enchilada with green and red sauce on the side as this was my first time trying the sauces. The food was good, but not great, which could just be me as I'm not from around here and my pallet isn't quite the same but I didn't like either of the chile sauces, there was way too much cheese on my enchilada and I was given 5 pieces of a diced tomato. The portion size was perfect and I didn't take home any leftovers. I'd say the atmosphere is good, but a little industrial feeling. The outside of the building isn't really inviting at all and there's a lot of open space and basic seating at basic tables throughout. I was comfortable, but it wasn't a 5 star experience. They do have a very extensive list of awards won!
Katelynn K — Google review
Major bummer. Last time we went to La Salita we watched the staff sneeze into the ice and scratch themselves. We told the manager and they gave us a gift card. We were hesitant to go back and waited about 4 months. Sad to say it’s gone down hill. We asked if the guacamole would be enough for a party of four, the young lady said yes the starter is ‘full size.’ The $5 guac under ‘starters’ is served in a 2 ounce ramekin. When we asked to pay the difference and switch to queso as an app, the manager, Sara said, “If you think this is small I can get you one half the size.” Great customer service. The queso was so watery more gets on the table than the chip. They didn’t drain the turkey so my enchiladas were swimming. My husband and father’s blue corn turkey enchilada plates didn’t have any turkey. It was a tortilla stacked a top another tortilla. My mom’s rellenos were burnt. I waited in line for 10 minutes while our family ate to order more beers, pay for them, then be told the tap was blown. One of the managers brought me the beer and said the staff didn’t know the handle was turned. Half our food was remade and by the time mine finally came back every one was finished. When I finally got my plate the manager stayed and talked for over 10 minutes. By then my egg was cold and rubbery and the whole experience was the pits. We used to go weekly and now it’s just over priced fast food at best. We threw all the leftovers away as my parents both reported being sick all night.

Best taco Tuesday deal in town! $5.75 for 2 tacos with 2 sides! Add a sopapilla for 50 cents. Free chips and salsa. Food is great, service is fast and friendly. Chile renellos are also delicious. Lots of Vegan options as well. Definitely recommend.

I was a little disappointed today. I ordered a combo plate and normally when I order from there, I get a Sopa with my order. I didn’t so I reached out and they let me know that it’s $.50 extra. Normally with any restaurant (including here) when I order you get one with your meal. This was a combination plate. Also, I ordered the guac and chips. I got a good amount of guac, but only a handful of chips.

I've been wanting to try this place since they have a sizeable Meatless selection. It took awhile but I have gotten takeout from there twice now and their tacos are DELISH! I got the not-turkey taco on a whim last night and my mind was blown how delicious it was. I love Impossible ground but I think I'm getting not-turkey as my protein option from here-on-out. The restaurant was completely alone, and we needed to wait more than 30 minutes for a simple quesadillas. The rice and beans were the sides and not like too much the flavor, so my daughterdont eat it. The attention for the waitress was pretty good. She apologized for the inconvenience, but we never received a discount for that, and we need to stand up to look for her. I don't like it when you are in a New Mexican restaurant and put Mexican music when you dont sell any real Mexican food is illogical.
VEBA B — Google review
We called ahead to be sure they could take us as it was already 7:30. He said they were going to close at 8 because they were slow. They stayed open for us and we headed in. We were seated and given menus. Our server was a champ. We had 9 adults and 3 young kids. We split the check 3 ways. The guy , our server, was gracious enough to split it without hesitation. There's a 20% split check gratuity. Understandably so. I told my family to treat him nice (tip) because we put him through the wringer with our split checks and all our needs. The food was quality but it's what I'd call typical American Mexican food. Not too special for being in the southwest. There's too many plates for me to name off here. I'll try to add names to the pics that I upload. The family enjoyed it I think for the most part. The food took a bit to come out to our table. I assume it was because of the quantity we ordered. For me, I ordered my usual chimichanga with Ground beef. Rice and beans. I asked for it to be fried extra crisp. It came out just as I asked. I wanted green hot sauce like Green pepper chalulla but they only had house made green Chile sauce. All in all it was ok.

Sadie's Dining Room is a bustling and family-friendly Mexican eatery that has been serving classic Mexican dishes and drinks since 1954. Originally a tiny diner with nine stools, it has grown over the years to accommodate more guests due to its popularity. Unlike other local New Mexican cuisine spots, Sadie's doesn't hold back on their chile or salsa, making it a favorite among those who enjoy authentic flavors. The restaurant is also known for its vegan-friendly and vegetarian options.
We tried Sadie's for the first time on recommendation from our real estate agent. She didn't steer us wrong! The portion sizes were huge. The "small" nachos are pictured below. The Mango Tango margarita was yummy! The menu says their sauces are hot, but if you're used to a little heat, these won't bother you. Their green sauce is fantastic!

My family and I gathered to celebrate my niece's army induction. The staff was friendly and accommodating, providing us with quick service. Our server was exceptionally patient and made us feel like family. I especially appreciated when the owner approached us to ask about our experience. The food portions were generous, and the chips and salsa were among the best I've had in the Albuquerque area. The ambiance was authentic and welcoming.

A pleasant surprise as it is not a Mexican restaurant but a New Mexican restaurant. Don't expect typical rice and beans. In fact, they don't offer rice, but they have some of the most delicious beans I have ever had and potatoes. All the servings were huge, Our waitress was horrible and not attentive at all, but the ambiance and the food made up for it.
Cindy F — Google review
Oh, Sadie’s… bless your heart. I came in ready to be wowed—ready to have my taste buds whisked away on a magical red and green chile-laced adventure through the heart of Albuquerque. What I got instead was… a masterclass in mediocrity, served with a side of “wait, is this it?” Let’s start with the combo plate. You’d think that a place with legendary status would use it to showcase the best of their best. Instead, it tasted like a sampler platter from the “just okay” aisle of a grocery store. Bland beans? Check. Rice that gave up halfway through cooking? Oh absolutely. Enchiladas that looked like they partied too hard the night before and just couldn’t bring the heat? You bet. And then there was the chicken birria—which I was excited about until it arrived and basically whispered, “Hey, I’m here to let you down gently.” It had all the depth of flavor of a wet paper towel. No kick. No richness. Just some very confused chicken wondering why it had been dragged into this. Now don’t get me wrong, the staff was friendly, and the portions were large—like comically large. But when your claim to fame is “huge plates of food,” I expect more than cafeteria-level flavor in bulk. So why does everyone in Albuquerque swear by Sadie’s? I don’t know—maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s Stockholm Syndrome, or maybe they just haven’t ventured beyond a 10-mile radius in a while. But if we’re talking straight flavor? Sadie’s isn’t bad… it’s just aggressively fine. Like a blind date who’s polite but makes you miss your couch. Will I be back? Probably not. But hey, thanks for the free salsa and existential food crisis.

What an interesting place! You have to walk through the pharmacy/clothing, card, giftware section to get to the restaurant. If you have to wait for a table, you can shop in their well curated store. The stuffed sopapillas were perfectly golden and fluffy, filled with savory goodness that made every bite satisfying. The empanadas were crispy on the outside with a delicious, well-seasoned filling that had just the right amount of spice. The atmosphere is quintessentially New Mexican - warm, welcoming, and steeped in local tradition. You can feel the history in this place, and the staff clearly takes pride in serving quality food that represents the best of regional cuisine. If you're looking for authentic New Mexican food in Albuquerque, Duran's should definitely be on your list. The stuffed sopapillas alone are worth the trip, and the empanadas are a perfect complement. This is the kind of local treasure that makes dining out special. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors.

I stopped by Duran’s while in town for Balloon Fiesta and was blown away by how welcoming everyone was. The staff treated us like regulars from the moment we walked in. They were genuinely friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions about the menu. Even though the place was packed, our server checked on us often and made great recommendations (the homemade tortillas were increidble). The whole experience felt warm and personal, like stepping into a piece of Albuquerque history. Between the kind service, cozy atmosphere, and great food, this was one of the highlights of my trip.

I got the breakfast burrito which was huge & delicious. The eggs and potatoes were both so light and fluffy. Can't wait to come back and try something else! Also loved all the items to peruse while we waited for our table. Lots of local-made items. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

They didn't have the one thing I was looking for (makeup brushes) but I had so much fun looking at ALL the other cool stuff! Amazing place for alternative medicines and odd-end gifts+souvenirs. If you make a visit to Old Town be sure to stop by, and I hear the food is delicious as well.
Trelasa — Google review
This restaurant offers fantastic New Mexican food with excellent service and LARGE portions. Tacos—YUM-uh-licious and so filling—beef and chicken, especially the beef. The enchiladas and tamales are soooooo darn enchanting! And OMG the flour tortillas (BIGGER than your head) with butter are heaven sent. Save your appetite for everything! I am unable to eat a lot, and am a very picky eater, but I can eat my entire taco or combo plate here, as it really is that frickin' good! The coffee and iced tea are great, and they focus solely on New Mexican cuisine, avoiding typical American breakfast items. It deserves high praise as the best place for New Mexican/Mexican food (that I've tried), and the store for goodies is beautiful, too! You won't regret this gem! It's not elegant but approachable with the best service and food! Prices are just like all restaurants, and if you think it's expensive, stay home and make it yourself!

Mexican restaurant
This seafood restaurant in the heart of Albuquerque serves up fresh, delicious Mexican cuisine with a concentration on seafood. The friendly and attentive staff is eager to please, and they even sing happy birthday to daughter-in-law when she visits!
Always great food and friendly service! Leo is always so friendly and helpful. I recently had the pleasure of being served Leo at Alta Mar I must say, the experience was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, Leo greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel right at home. Throughout the meal, they were attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks were always filled and checking in at just the right times to see if we needed anything. What stood out the most was their knowledge of the menu. They took the time to explain the dishes in detail and offered great recommendations based on our preferences, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The pacing of the meal was perfect, and everything came out exactly as we ordered. Not only was Leo professional and efficient, but they also had a wonderful sense of humor, making the atmosphere feel relaxed and fun. It’s rare to find a waiter who strikes the perfect balance of friendly and professional, but Leo did just that. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. It truly made our evening special, and I will definitely be returning to Alta Mar again, hoping to be served by Leo once more. Highly recommend! The chocolate cake was amazing also!!

Mild, unassuming restaurant hidden off the freeway delivers excellent Mexican-style seafood. The staff is beyond par, with attentive, thoughtful, and genuine service. I had a ceviche tostada as an appetizer, and it was great. Super great! Main dish was the Seafood Special, and it delivered a cornucopia of fresh, well prepared seafood that was balanced with spices. Great margaritas! Only complaint is that it's too brightly lit inside, but that's just me. Will come back next time I'm in town.

I really enjoyed myself at this fine establishment, I ordered the Al Pastor Taco plate, it was very delicious. The rice and beans were great as well. I will definitely be back. This might be my favorite place in town! UPDATE : I came back to try this place again and it did not disappoint, everything was spot on, I got the specialty plate (Fish, Octopus, Shrimp) with a side of rice and Guacamole, I also got the Aquachile with Chips and Salsa, everyone was top notch, this place will be added to my rotation when I’m craving some Seafood. I will definitely be back! 👍

I had no idea what to expect. The food was terrific. I kept it simple, a couple of enchiladas and chips. The chips were nice, crispy and fresh. The salsa was a lot different from what I'm used to. But what do I know from Salsa? I'm from NJ. Anyway, I liked it. A lot.Very cool vibe about the place. Even had a singer/guitarist. The waitress was warm , friendly and helpful... especially with the salsas. I highly recommend trying the Coco-rita.

Monica's El Portal is a charming cafe that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with a cozy patio and vintage decor. This popular spot in Albuquerque is known for serving up delicious Mexican cuisine, including their famous margaritas. The restaurant's friendly staff ensures a welcoming experience, making it a great place to enjoy authentic Northern New Mexican dishes. Visitors rave about the bacon-egg quesadilla and the flavorful enchilada plate.
Hubby, his uncle, and I came here for lunch. We were seated right away and attended too. I ordered the carne adovada and replaced beans with rice, and sopapilla, and hubby ordered 2 eggs, bacon, and sausage place which comes with papitas (potatoes) and smothered with both red and green chile (they call Christmas because of the colors). They also serve chips on the house as you are waiting for your food to be served. Food: Full of flavor, cooked right, and served hot (not dangerously hot). Even the chips were warm and tasted like it’s just made. The sopapilla is so light and yummy. Ambiance: The restaurant has outdoor dining but with the cold weather, better sit inside as it is clean and cozy. Just the perfect warm comfortable temperature. Service: Our server was attentive and friendly and warm. The entire experience was pleasant and I definitely recommend this place 100%.

This is green chile chicken enchiladas with beans and rice and a fried egg on top. The food was excellent! The atmosphere and service were wonderful. Dessert was the best sopapillas, hot and fresh.

The food was 👌🏻 we all finished our plates and didn’t have to eat again for the rest of the day! Sopapillas we’re maybe the best I’ve ever had and the chile relleno batter was perfect. I’d skip the margaritas, but everything else was fantastic.

Chile rellenos were so delicious and crispy. Kids menu was a nice option for our 4 year old. Husband enjoyed a stuffed sopapilla with Carne adovada.

Tasty traditional NM dishes specializing in breakfast and lunch. Friendly service and good coffee. The burrito was enormous although not too much once my friend got started on it. I had the breakfast enchilada from the light menu and I was stuffed half way through. Bottom line you won’t leave hungry! Pro move: Get the red and green sauce. Life is too short to choose just one ;)

My wife & I like trying new restaurants and Monica's El Portal is one of them. The food was delicious, the green Chile gravy on my chicken fried steak was off the wall. Come to find out that Monica has been making her food homemade for 45 years. Well like they say "if it ain't broken don't fix it". Good job you guys we'll definitely will be coming back, Thank you

What a charming and wonderful dining experience. I highly encourage eating breakfast here. This was our first time to New Mexico and they taught us the practice of putting honey onto warm, fresh tortilla chips as the appetizer. And that right there described my visit. Warm, fresh, safe, clean, and entirely content. oh, and the sopapillas with honey were a must! (We were driving to see Smokey the Bear park later that day so he often made an appearance in our photos haha) I ordered the omelet and got the red sauce with it. Next time I might order the sauce on the side because I thought it was a little extensive for me, but we REALLY enjoyed our visit. By the time we were leaving, the place was really starting to pack it in and we could tell it was a popular spot!
Camille B — Google review
I'm always on the hunt for local New Mexican restaurants, and I've found another 👍 Our first visit and we were sat quickly and our food came out even quicker, which is a plus when your starving. I was impressed with the red chile since it had a bite, and it was flavorful as well. My India taco hit the spot since I hadn't had one in a long time, as well as the chile relleno. The oozing cheese is my fav.

Fantastic food super nice people very small but a great place. I’ll definitely be back.

I've driven by this place many times over the years in Albuquerque. On a recent business trip to Albuquerque I got a chance to stop by. The food is very well-made and I highly recommend one of the combination plates with a side of flautas. Keep in mind that the parking lot is very small if you drive a large truck and it is a walk up counter-service through the window. Nevertheless the staff was very helpful and making a selection from their gigantic menu.
Warman H — Google review
It may be a little hole in the wall restaurant, but those are usually the ones that usually have the best food. It is locally owned and they are extremely nice and welcoming. Prices are fair and the food is delicious. They have my vote for best green Chile cheeseburger. Definitely worth checking out.

Let me tell you; food, service, PRICES and value. Outside dining only. The food prices are nothing less than amazing! You get your moneys worth, that is for sure. Had the daily special (Fajita’s) and sandwich (Torta), portions were large. I would eat here once a week with the value!!

Never had street tacos with lettuce and tomatoes, barely any cilantro.1 lime for 4 tacos. I ordered rice and beans. I literally got a scoop of both. Paid $15.Disappointed. I'm from out of town and thought the hole in the wall would be good. Food wasn't terrible, I just wasn't ready for lettuce and tomatoes. No jalapeño pepper? Nothing blew me away. 1 sause for four tacos? And It was Luke warm. I'm only 3 minutes away. I had to put it in the microwave? And I can't get over the table spoon of beens. Customer service was good though. I just wanted to add..The tacos were seasoned well, the homemade corn tortillas were the best I've had so far. I can kinda guess why the front door is boarded. I just didn't get want lettuce and tomatoes. I should've specified that..

A bustling breakfast spot with friendly staff, and hearty portions. The water-poached eggs were soft and perfect , and the three-meat omelette was deeply satisfying. The toasted muffins added just the right touch. The quirky décor - with framed photos and half a truck bursting out of the wall- adds a cheerful diner style charm. A great place to start the day!

The food was good and there was plenty of it. They do offer half plates on some selections which is what I should have done. I had the enchilada breakfast. The enchiladas were just loaded with chicken. I had red chili and it was okay, but my husband said their green was really good.

Duran's Station is a hidden gem in Albuquerque, where traditional New Mexican comfort food takes center stage. This lively and unpretentious eatery offers a fun atmosphere perfect for enjoying drinks alongside your meal. The freshly made tortillas are simply irresistible, and if you're a fan of chiles, the chile relleno enchilada is a must-try.
Very nice authentic New Mexican food. Fritto pie for $11?! It's good food and very nice staff and owner they assemble plates right in front of you very clean amd tasty. Portions are not a two pounds of rice and beans ! But priced reasonably, good quality amd atmosphere. I enjoyed going there and will go again. You see a picture with empty seat? Yeah good luck with that ! It's always packed and better catch it a bit off rush hours. Hope you enjoy it.

I like simple when it comes to nachos… and the nachos at Duran’s Station were perfect! The nachos come with melted shredded cheese, pinto beans, and jalapeños. I also tried their hamburger steak plate with fried potatoes. I’m not a fan of steam potatoes so I’m glad they have options. And their red chile is so tasty! Some of the best I’ve had in town. I know Duran’s Central Pharmacy is talked about more, but in my opinion, Duran’s Station better.

Had an amazing #GreenChiliCheeseburger, served fresh, hot, and with a smile - during the height of lunch rush. Staff is beyond accommodating and truly shows interest in making every customer happy. Busy as it was, I didn't have to "ask for a refill". It's not 5 Star cuisine*, but if you rather have a great burger and a smile (*instead of $100 for scallops) - Duran's Station IS the spot! PS, couldn't resist a sopapilla too!😄

We have been wanting to try El Charritos for years. We finally got the opportunity to try. The atmosphere was very nice. The lady that took the order at the front desk was very nice. She's the owner. The servers, could have been more friendly and more attentive. We got cheese enchiladas with both red and green chile. The red and green chile are phenomenally good. That chile hit the spot. My friend enjoyed her taco. I had a chile relleno. It was good. It was very different than what I'm used to in a good chile relleno. If I go back, I don't think I'd get that again. I do want to go back and try their other items. It was a fun day.

I and my brother came here after other restaurants were full up and boy am I glad. The red chile was hot, creamy, not watery. The beans delicious. Combo plate was huge and I ordered the small one. I was so content eating here. My brother was sweating up a storm loving every minute of it. We'll definitely go back and i can say the food here is in one of the top three NM food restaurants here in Albquerque!! Check it out.

It is an interesting setup. You pay first at the greeters desk before taking your seat and getting served. That means at busy times you may have a bit of a wait as that area is small and you might not get into the door right away, and seating may be limited during busy times. Food was good, and delivered relatively promptly.
Michael H — Google review
The food is glorious. The service was alright. The waitress was cool she was attentive to refills & made sure we felt welcome. Atmosphere, well it was packed, (arrived in around 2) this place is popular. What I didn't like about this place is having to use the menue upon entry & waiting in the crowded foyer. Shoulder to shoulder no one was wearing a mask & was just ridiculous. Overall, gonna be ordering our food to go next time.
Aleksis K — Google review
Small parking lot. I went with a group and everybody had something different, but the food was good and the portions were pretty large. It's a slight drawback that you order and pay with the cashier, but it understandably takes pressure off the wait staff. All of the staff were very friendly and courteous.
Oldies4ever74 — Google review
This place was recommended to us by a local when we first arrived in Albuquerque. It's a tough line to wait in as people love it, and New Mexico is HOT to those of us not used to it (you wait and order and then are seated). However, i will tell you this food is clearly homemade, authentic, and its amazing. They even bring out fresh made sopapillas to your table. So, i very much recommend despite you might have a wait in line depending on when you go.

A colorful, mom-&-pop restaurant in the Albuquerque city limits serves American & New Mexican dishes with a Southwestern style. They take great care to ensure their gluten free diner's food is free of any gluten, and they're always happy to accommodate dietary restrictions. The cheeseburger at this restaurant is pretty good, and although nothing special, it's also not overpriced.

Possibly the best restaurant in SouthValley. On a recent girls day out, we ate lunch at Albuquerque City Limits. I had the Rose burger which is 5oz if I remember right, honestly a perfect size for lunch but the bigger bonus was the 3 sample sized sides so I was able to try the fries, potato salad & chips. There were no leftovers but we each got a cheesecake slice to go. (They are massive!) If you follow me, you know I love supporting small, locally owned, businesses & this one is worth supporting.

It saddens me to say this about this restaurant and its food quality. My wife and I have been enjoying this place and food for over 10 years. With that said this will be the last time my wife and I eat at this restaurant. It’s so to the poor quality of food, both my wife and I had the Victoria salad. Chicken was spongy with the lettuce dark and rotating, avocado was bad cheese melted as if placed in the microwave. This is very unfortunate. Yes, we could have called and complained. But this was not the first time this has occurred. Thank you for allowing us to rate and review. God bless.

We randomly walked into one of the best places to eat in New Mexico! The food was so authentic the chimi hit home for me as it was my favorite thing to eat on weekends as a kid, it tasted the same way but even better with the refried smashed beans! I got the machaca and let me you this was the best thing I could’ve ever done today. The red Chile is so flavorful and as a true Nm resident living here 80% of my life this one of the best places for red Chile. The bean and cheese burrito was also a hit! Beans and rice always a great combo. And saving the bets for last, the staff: Maggy our server so sweet, caring as the other lady we didn’t get her name. I saw the nachos ordered & they were huge!!!! Los Cuates is a casual and stylish Mexican restaurant and bar chain that has been an Albuquerque institution since 1985. With multiple locations, including one at the Albuquerque Sunport, it offers classic Mexican dishes and burgers in a relaxed and stylish setting. The restaurant was named after the owner's twin children, and it has won awards for its best New Mexican cuisine. Known for their exceptional enchiladas, Los Cuates also serves large portions of delicious Indian tacos.
Came here with my sister when she came in for a visit. The food was fantastic and the waiter we had was amazing. Anyone looking to try good New Mexican food will not be disappointed. I loved the salsa they served with the chips (wish I had the recipe).

1st time eating here. Loved the green sauce enchiladas. Chips were hot and fresh. They do have their own unique salsa. I dont personally like sweet salsa, though. They do have a taco salsa(really good) you can ask for which is like at normal Mexican restaurants. My daughter had the nachos and enjoyed them. They give you plenty of food for your money. Will be coming back here when I come through again. Exceptional service. Jose was very attentive. My drink or chips were never empty

I shared the order of 3 ground beef enchiladas. Asked for red and the green sauce on the side. Also ordered a classic margarita. Amazing. So good... Both the food and the drink. I would definitely go back when I go back to Albuquerque.

Family from out of town were impressed with the food as well as the margaritas. Very generous portions of food crafted with fresh ingredients. Attentive service. We were there on a Thursday evening and it was not too busy. I had the chicken enchiladas. Very good and I had leftovers. Highly recommend if you're craving Mexican food.

If you’re ever in Albuquerque and craving authentic, mouth-watering Mexican food, Los Cuates is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere and vibrant decor set the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional meal. We were lucky enough to have Rene as our server, and he truly made our experience outstanding. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and genuine hospitality didn’t go unnoticed. He checked in regularly, made great recommendations, and ensured our glasses (and chips!) were never empty. It’s rare to find someone so passionate about providing great service—Rene deserves a shout-out for going above and beyond. As for the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was rich in flavor and beautifully prepared—from the homemade salsa and fresh guacamole to the sizzling fajitas and lite chicken burrito that melted in your mouth. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by Los Cuates. And if you’re lucky enough to be seated in Rene’s section, you’re in for a top-tier dining experience!

Ordered red chile chicken enchilada tray, came to $40. Got home opened it and it had green chile chicken inside? Waste of money, lost out on $40, on the phone I said I want no green chile only red. 1 star since the staff don’t listen, also asked no onions but sure enough there was onions in the chicken. Don’t order take out from here

I had an incredible experience here. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. There were plenty of well decorated spaces for dining options. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. The virgin margaritas weren’t that great but it was worth the try. Everyone was super nice. Even the other patrons. It felt like a family meal. The food portions are huge and you can get full off the chips and salsa alone. I took my leftovers to go and they provided utensils and packaging which was super helpful. The service alone would definitely make me come back here and most importantly the food was delicious.

Garcia's Kitchen is a long-standing local chain that has been serving up fresh, handmade New Mexican cuisine since 1975. The original location is known for its vibrant and colorful decor, creating a lively setting for enjoying all-day breakfast and New Mexican favorites in a casual and friendly atmosphere. One of their standout dishes is the breakfast burrito, which can be smothered in chile and cheese for an extra kick.
Breakfast was great. I got the breakfast stuffed sopapilla with sausage. Came in with a larger group of about 10 people but our waiter Diego was working hard to help us as well as his other tables so we appreciated that. Overall good food, great service, great atmosphere.

Very fun restaurant! We loved the mural on the wall, the friendly staff, and delicious food for a very fair price. We got the sopapillas which were fabulous as well as both the red and green chili sauces which were both decently hot.

Food was delicious. Service wasn't all that great, had to call the waiter to get us refills. The place was very nice and clean.
Dal B — Google review
The food at this restaurant is unfortunately overpriced and doesn't quite live up to expectations. While the portion sizes are reasonable, the quality is nothing exceptional, especially considering the high prices. Additionally, even with few customers, the food takes an excessively long time to prepare.

I've been away from the southwest for several years but I was visiting family but more importantly to get my fill of good Mexican food and it happened at Garcia's. Two beef enchiladas that made my day. The sauce was wonderful too. Highly recommend

I just went to order out . I was on my way back to California from New Mexico and I was really hungry. I ordered a burrito 🌯 at first look I was like $7 dollars for this no beans or rice but it was a steak in a red Chile sauce and it was delicious and very satisfying. I would recommend to anyone . Who is in area. Very fast service. I was only outside but felt safe

El Cotorro - Taqueria and Heladeria is a quick-serve eatery known for its authentic and delicious tacos, elotes, and margaritas. The restaurant makes most of its items in-house, including their own corn tortillas, with many gluten-free filling options available. They also offer a variety of vegetarian dishes alongside classic Mexican-style taco plates like Al Pastor and Carnitas.
This was my first time here. WOW. Why have I never been here before??? The tacos were so flavorful, it's insane. Almost didn't need salsa because they were so good but hey, the salsa was also good! This is what taco dreams are made of 😍😍😍
Brianna G — Google review
Loved the elote corn and the gelato. On my first review I said this wouldn’t be my goto for tacos and that El Paisa’s were much better. Since then, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with their braised oxtail and lamb barbacoa tacos. Like I could eat them every week they are so good. I also love the horchata! Would certainly pop in for a glass of that and the elote, but those oxtails tacos call my name!

Worth a try! Flavorful selection of tacos and variety of ice cream. Vegan ICE CREAM!! Tacos are small, get three for an average appetite. Portions are small and pricey but still worth it for the taste. Price is the only reason it’s not 5 Stars.

A fantastic variety of tacos! Very delicious. Great atmosphere. Love the salsa bar. The vegan options were on point! Tacos were sort of small (I ate like 4). Definitely going back

I haven't been here in over a year but I was just remembering their tacos. My wife obviously likes their elotes. And the micheladas are tasty. It's always a good time there. Try the fried nopales tacos.

So delicious! I had the fish taco special (pan seared mahi mahi), the vegan soy chorizo and potato taco, and the chicken tinga taco. The handmade corn tacos are so fresh and crispy. Thank you, El Cotorro!
Jamie K — Google review
Five solid gold stars! I visited on a whim due to the "buy 3, get the 4th free" offer and I am so glad that I did. Their taco menu spans a continent of flavors at a reasonable price while their salsa bar is a variable smorgasbord of spice levels for most all capsaicin fans. Did I mention that they fry their own flour and corn chips in house and are made to order? To customer service, Allison gave some of the most helpful and attentive service that I have ever received. From guidance to taco selection, describing the salsa flavors as she personally poured me six of them, to recommending salsas to accompany each taco, she was the epitome of confidence and competence. Management, do whatever you have to do to keep her in your employ! I would recommend this restaurant to others based just on her exceptional service.

Twisters Burgers and Burritos is a regional fast-food chain known for its all-day menu featuring chile-infused burritos and burgers. The restaurant has gained popularity for its Best Chile Cheese Fries, which are a well-loved combination of essential ingredients. While some customers have noted that the portion sizes can be a bit stingy, others recommend trying the twister style burrito, which is a must-try item on the menu.
ABQ's BEST drive-through green chile cheeseburger! GCCB fanatics know it's the combination / blending of the ingredients that make or break our state's fave burger. This Twister under the watchful eye of manager Gabriel produces a perfect GCCB. Leave off the ketchup (onions too for me, that's to taste) the mix of chopped lettuce and mild chopped chile, pickle on a juicy burger with gooey cheese and grilled bun is the grail, IMHO! and under $8 (the famous "pueblo burger" is twice that! ) PS -- low on atmosphere only because it's drive-through only. Often noisy to order, but worth it! Delicious! Thanks again !
Jami M — Google review
I'm not trying to be that guy, but literally the only thing correct on my order was my drink :/ I don't eat green chile, which I realize might be a sin for a New Mexican, but my tummy can't handle it. I'm good with red, which is why I requested it. And my burger should have had no chile. But I got a green chile burger and green chile fries.
Justine J — Google review
My wife, kids, and myself decided we hadn't had Twisters in a while. I've always loved twisters and this location is close to home. We drove by and got bummed out when we thought it was closed. There's a giant "for lease" sign on the building and it looks run down. We got bummed and continued to drive away, I saw the "open" sign last minute and made a U-turn. To our surprise it was open. The gentleman behind the counter was very professional and courteous. The food wasn't the best Twisters I've had but not too bad, the tortilla on my burrito was stale from being left in the open air for too long before preparation. The atmosphere inside is bare and run down. The potatoes were chewy and not fresh but the fries were. We ordered two churros, one was warm, the other was not? So overall not too bad. Infrastructure needs update and half way through our meal, the staff turned on the music. That definitely helped the atmosphere.
Jason B — Google review
The burritos use to be BIG! Now they're small. I ordered a #7 with carne adovada- the small burrito had little to no carne adovada. The tortilla was barely warm. Soda was flat. Ill just go to Stripes for a carne adovada burrito. The front clerk was not friendly nor did he greet me, but did promptly take my order and brought it to my table. The place was clean.
Roger P — Google review
We wanted a burger with just pickles and paid to get extra pickles. Didn't get extra pickles, and they also included cheese, which my kid can't eat, so that was a bummer. It was melted into the patty so couldn't pull it off. My food was fine and my husband liked his. We got a big stack of boxes tied up in bags in the drive-thru so didn't find the issue until we were already home.

Im from AZ and Recently i have been traveling to NM for work and i have been hearing how great this place is and that it's one of the best in NM. After a few months i gave it a shot and wasn't super impressed , i would say that it's mediocre at best. By all means its not horrible its just something i wouldn't crave for but everyone should at least try it. You might have a different view point than what i had.

I waited in the drive thru sign for 20 minutes, had to get their attention, then they proceeded to not take payment and serve the two people behind me. I had to walk in to reorder, to not get any sort of compensation for the lack of work on the employees part. It was also empty and the drive thru was as well with the two cars behind me. Abysmal. Dont ignore a customer when you arent busy at all. Especially when there is 3 employees just standing around

First time here. Live in SC but if I ever come back to town will definitely come here. People were really nice and prices are great too.

Overpriced for what it is... Bland street vendor like mexican food. It's CASH ONLY. Seemed over hyped. Ordered the $7.50 chile relleno burrito, almost all burritos are 7.50, so expecting something awesome., it was mostly full of beans, with a small overcooked and mushy relleno hidden in there, almost hard to find,.mostly flavorless. Atmosphere looked like we were in a run down area of Juarez, fold out tables, or some.metall tables in.an enclosed industrial like patio, but extra star for the old model T sitting in the dining area. The only good thing our group had (each had 2 items, total was almost $80 for 3 people, with nothing special ordered,) was the banana drink. I would skip this place, much better options in Albuquerque. Oh yeah, bathrooms so dirty
Jonathan E — Google review
First of all I had to repeat the order three times and they still got it wrong. I wanted 2- tacos pastor and one gordita pastor mais. They added a torta that I didn't order and they didn't correct the order. Tacos were real greasy and tasteless. The gordita pastor was not cooked properly and falling apart. Not a good experience. $20 and greasy fingers. Never again 😞

Barbacoa Taco Tender, slow-cooked beef cheekwith rich, smoky flavor. Juicy and deeply savory – a classic favorite! Lengua Taco Made with beef tongue – incredibly soft and buttery when cooked well. Mild taste, melts in your mouth. recommend it! Steak Taco Grilled, seasoned beef strips – hearty and flavorful. Often served with onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. A solid choice! Carnitas Taco👍 Slow-braised pork, crispy on the outside and tender inside. Sweet, salty, and full of depth – so satisfying! Horchata A sweet, creamy rice-cinnamon drink. Refreshing, slightly gritty texture, and perfect for balancing spicy tacos

If you want real Mexican tacos, aquas frescas (fruit drinks), tortas (sandwiches) this is the place. It’s a hole in the wall with good food. Prices are reasonable and the sitting area has picnic tables and small tables. You order at the window and wait for your number to be called. They only take cash. Plenty of parking. I recommend the tongue tacos and the pina and horchata drinks. Tacos come with great salsas. 😋 Very casual.

Ate at Los Compadres Restaurant today. We had the cheese enchiladas ala carte and pazole. It was all amazing. We loved the red chile. I got a small bowl but it was actually very large. The toasted torta on the side was buttery, warm and fresh. The pork and hominy were plentiful in the soup. Everything was well priced and well seasoned. The place was packed but our food came out fast. Also, this is one the few places with fresh free salsa and chips which we devoured!

Opened at 9 a.m., though I had hoped it would be earlier. Still, it was worth the wait, because the food was great! I got the chicken enchilada breakfast, and it was so delicious! I know when I return to this area, I can count on this restaurant!

Me and my mom love coming here. They have the best Menudo. I like that they have the option of ordering a Pata (pig foot). That is the best addition to Menudo. It also comes with toasted buttered bolio (bread). Accompanied with lime, oregano, and onion. If you like Menudo. You would love this place. They offer small or large bowl. The large is pretty good size. I usually have some left to take home. Their shrimp cocktail is also really good. I would recommend this place. The only downside is I wouldn't order the sopapillas. They run about a dollar something each and their size is laughable. Super small, a little bigger than a cracker (pic posted). I was disappointed and they didn't taste good either. I even laughed when the waitress brought them out asking where the rest of the sopapilla was. She said they used to make fresh, but they no longer do, so they buy them from somewhere else. No bueno! They do have good salsa. They bring a complimentary basket of tortilla chips and salsa to the table. This restaurant is handicapped accessible as well. If you read my review, please hit the like button. Thank you.

This place is amazing! I visit family in NM every year or so and last visit all the restaurants I would usually go to were terrible. So, this visit I needed to redeem myself. I ordered the cheese enchilada off of the kid/senior lunch/dinner section of the menu and it was the perfect proportion. Everything was very fresh, quick service, and staff were all so friendly. I also love all the options on the menu and how accommodating they are with your meal. How they have salads, and even fish sticks?! And that you can swap out anything or get rid of whatever. Best salsa ever! Perfect amount of heat and the guacamole was fresh. I also loved the sopas and how small they were. By the time you’re finished with your meal, you’re most likely very full but still want dessert and this was perfect. Small but still delicious and I loved the dough they use. It wasn’t as greasy as most sopas. And the honey came warm and was delicious. Coming here every time I’m in town now!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give 10 stars I would. We went in with a little uncertainty as I don’t like any level of spice, but remembering a Mexican restaurant we went to in England where I found a non-spicy dinner I enjoyed, I had my fingers crossed. It turns out I had nothing to worry about. Our server was SO helpful - he explained so much of the menu to us and answered all of our questions. While we were waiting for our food he brought us some samples of pork dishes from the menu to try. My husband, always says doesn’t like pork, said it was absolutely delicious - and it really was SO tasty. Our food arrived and honestly, it really was absolutely delicious. Every single thing we ordered tasted AMAZING. When we got the bill we couldn’t believe how cheap it was. It was definitely worth double. The only negative thing I can think of is that we are leaving the area tomorrow so won’t be able to eat there again. Lovely staff Delicious food Not at all expensive Perfect. Just perfect 👌🏼

Wonderful 1st time experience. Greeted by an older friendly gentleman who spoke Espanol ☺️ also providing seating accommodation for our sleeping baby. Once seated our drinks were taken by waiter and asked if we would like chips and salsa that tasted fresh. Our main dish was brought out with little to no wait time. The food was delicious!! Definitely will be going back. 😋❤️

Chips and salsa was delicious. Ordered their "Navajo Taco." They need to rename it to a reverse stuffed sopa because that was not a Navajo Taco. Although good they need to make frybread for the Navajo Taco or it's just a inside out stuffed sopa. Would go back to try something different though.

I and my husband have been there twice. We had no service the first time, went back a few weeks later to try again. We waited over 10 minutes to be seated. No ever came to take our order several individuals seated after we were seated had their orders taken and we were ignored. We sat for over 20 minutes. I won’t try it again. I do not recommend dining here.

This use to be a good restaurant but it has gone downhill. The service is the worst. Please hire more people. The waitress was very unfriendly and seem to be too busy to wait on our table.. Plus they charge you for everything. For a kids drink it was 3.50, for a refill on hot tea was 1.75 and to use your card was almost 2.00. The taco shells were not crispy, I got burnt rice and no cheese on the beans. We didn’t even get asked if we wanted chips and salsa.

The Copper Lounge is a chic and trendy bar nestled in the vibrant Nob Hill district of Albuquerque. This stylish establishment offers an inviting atmosphere, where patrons can savor innovative cocktails crafted by skilled mixologists using top-notch ingredients. In addition to its elevated pub plates, The Copper Lounge hosts weekly karaoke sessions for entertainment. With its modern and swanky vibes, this prominent cocktail bar is a must-visit destination in the University area.
If you're looking for a nice romantic quiet atmosphere this is the place. Great for a first date or just to sip & chill. The service is excellent and friendly, expertise is cocktails. I have not tried their food but will soon. Right next door is a more lively vibe with great music. This place is my first choice before anywhere else.

Way too LOUD and way too EXPENSIVE. Take your earplugs and prepare to sit in silence, you won't be able to talk to your friends. The walls were vibrating they had the music up so loud. You guaranteed will take on irreversible hearing loss. This is not something to mess around with, your hearing doesn't heal, it's damage for life. If the blaring speakers hurt your ears, you are taking on permanent hearing loss. This overly expensive place is NOT worth it. Go somewhere where you can actually talk to and hear your friends. Find a place where you can get a cocktail that is not a skinny glass, filled heaping with ice, and only about 1/8 a cup of liquid, that you have to pay $16 or more dollars for. PLUS an automatic 20% tip on your check, even just for 2 people! If you feel the tip should be different, you will have to "make a scene" to get it removed, which no one wants to do when they are trying to have a nice night out, and that's exactly why Copper does it. Tips are supposed to be optional and up to the customer to judge based on the service!

I am a native Texan with a thick southern draw, this bartender mocked my accent with his co worker literally right in front of me, and doing so, insulted my intelligence. The second time, he was extremely rude, I asked to buy a bottle and he said they really don't do that, I ordered a drink he didn't even make it and I just ended up leaving. He has absolutely no business being in the service industry, and needs a serious attitude adjustment.

The best place in Albuquerque! Staff was great , very respectful they pay attention to the service. I got the mussels great! Nachos amazing! The birria tacos good as well! The place really calm and great environment. I don’t drink but I used too and wanted to have a mixed drink do to the vive of the place. So I asked for a drink with no alcohol. The girl with green hair super nice the drink was really good ! Something with coconut and lime it looked green! Recommend place!

Customers have praised the vibrant and inviting atmosphere as well as the delicious variety of reasonably priced tacos on offer. The staff has been commended for their friendly service and willingness to accommodate special requests.
5 stars only because I couldn't make it 6. Service was great and fast, waited about 7 minutes on a Monday at noon. Got a 2 steak tacos, 2 pork tacos and a chicken taco, was $22. All the tacos were delicious, but the Fave fried chicken taco made me believe in a higher power. And that higher power is David and Owen in the kitchen. 10/10 would recommend and eat again.

This place has great energy and excellent customer service. First time coming here. I had a Baja shrimp taco and a street taco. The Baja shrimp was very good, juicy and loaded with guacamole. The street taco wasn't my favorite but it was also good and was loaded and juicy with lots of guacamole as well. They have their house salsas. I tried the green salsa and it was a little bit spicy the Baja shrimp was my favorite but I will definitely be going back. There are so many more options I'd like to try out. 🌮

Love that this place is open early and serves the full menu. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the place is very clean. I was able to get a brisket taco and a shrimp taco before 9 am! Really happy with the flavor of the brisket and how much shrimp I got in my taco, would absolutely order these again.

The food is phenomenal! Workers are very friendly. They have plenty of vegetarian options, the "chorizo" crunch roll is especially delicious! Their Rusty Bandito Margarita is a must try, you definitely get what you pay for - super strong! Haha My sister eats meat and got the Chicmen Bacon Jam tacos, she said the bacon jam slaps and the chicken was flavorful and moist. Definitely a new favorite spot to come!

Range Cafe Downtown is a beloved American restaurant located in Albuquerque, offering a diverse menu of New Mexican dishes and inventive spins on classic diner fare. The restaurant prides itself on its friendly and attentive staff, inviting atmosphere, and support of local art. With a made-from-scratch bakery, espresso bar, and creative cocktails, Range Cafe provides a delightful dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Got into town late and this was in walking distance of my hotel. Glad I tried it! The restaurant atmosphere was upbeat, the server was friendly and pleasant and the food was excellent! I wasn’t really up for a burger or Tex mex but the menu had a lot to pick from and I opted for the turkey platter. It was one of the best Thanksgiving style meals I’ve had. The turkey was tender, green beans and carrots were the right mix of roasted flavor and crisp texture, the mushroom gravy complimented the mashed potatoes, dressing and turkey perfectly without overwhelming the flavors, and the cranberry sauce was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I had a strawberry cinnamon roll for dessert and it certainly lived up to the quality of the rest of the dinner. It was gigantic and (despite how it looks in the picture) it was not overly sweet. I was pleasantly surprised to find the icing had a mild flavor to it that worked really well with the layers of pastry and didn’t overwhelm me with a sugar high. That having been said this was definitely more than I could eat and was a shareable. This was a good start to my first time in Albuquerque and it was a great meal. I’ll be back tomorrow to try breakfast…

Had the basic breakfast and wife had SW bowl. Both were great, biscuits wonderful. I recommend getting the red and green chili sauces on the side, great flavors. Cute decor (oven ranges (antique) and we took a pecan roll to go (can't forget the best part!). Would have been 5 stars but waited 5+ minutes for someone to greet us at the door to be seated.

Delicious apps. Green Chile Strips goes great with the sauce since it’s a little bland. I was surprised that the coleslaw was spicy. Spicier than the green chile peppers. I destroyed the nachos. Chicken was cooked perfect. The food arrived hella fast. Great service too.😍

We grabbed seats at the bar and had a great time our bartender was super friendly, helpful, and fun to chat with. The food hit the spot my husband had the nachos, and I went for a chicken enchilada with green chile sauce, plus a salted caramel boozy iced coffee that tasted like dessert in a glass. Overall, solid food, awesome vibes, and a sweet drink to top it off!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here at the Range Cafe, we should have waited until lunch so we could of tried the pies displayed in the case! Portions are very big & you can easily split. We bought a bag of blue corn mix to make our own waffles & pancakes!

Our first time in Albuquerque, and the Range Cafe does it perfectly! I had biscuits and gravy with ham, eggs and potatoes. The ham was extraordinary - light smoke and flavorful. Biscuits and gravy was huge portion and the potatoes were fried fresh, not frozen. Wait staff was congenital and made sure that we were fully caffeinated. Highly recommended!

Soo Bak Seoul Bowl, located in Nob Hill on Hermosa, is a Korean bibimbap restaurant that has quickly gained popularity since its opening in 2019. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, this eatery has managed to thrive and receive overwhelmingly positive reviews. Originally a food truck, it transitioned into a brick-and-mortar establishment due to its immense local popularity.
We really enjoyed lunch there today! Great food and very reasonably priced for the area. I can't wait to go again when it's warmer and the roll-up doors are open! The New Mexico Bowl was simply delicious and one I will get again. The tacos were great as was the Green Bowl. Looking forward to returning soon!
Luke D — Google review
Delicious and authentic bibimbap bowls at a fair price. We ordered four bowls and the kimchi fireballs to go—everything was ready in about 25 minutes, which felt reasonably quick. That said, if you’re in a hurry, calling ahead might be a good idea. The food was outstanding, though it seemed like the portions of protein were a bit more generous during my visit last year. Two dishes I highly recommend are the kimchi fireballs—crispy, deep-fried rice and kimchi balls that make a perfect appetizer—and the Soo Bak BBQ bowl, a flavorful and classic bibimbap. There’s also a lovely outdoor seating area that’s perfect for the summertime.
David P — Google review
Food is healthy and delicious. I definitely recommend the bibimbaps. I had both the Soo Bak and Staff Pick versions and both were amazing. I love the self-serve water, napkin, and utensils as this cuts back on unnecessary dish cleaning and unlimited water refills. Staff is friendly and helpful to first timers :)

A hidden gem this place was fantastic! I can't wait to try everything, the most flavorful food I've had in a while. I started off with the spicy kimchi ball that made my taste buds dance. Followed by the special of the day, the Korean wings, fried rice & sesame noodles, all had me dancing with joy. This is a spot i can't wait to explore more.
Cerease A — Google review
Their Korean fried chicken was very tasty and the sauce had just enough heat to keep the meal interesting. My son and I very much enjoyed the egg roll appetizer. This was my first experience trying eggplant noodles and I think we both came away really enjoying them. The restaurant has a nice artsy feel. I've never been a fan of small metal chairs, but that's one small drawback to an otherwise great experience!
Warman H — Google review
Some of the best food I’ve ever had, oh my gosh. I got the New Mexican bowl without green chile, I know… blasphemous for a New Mexican, and a side of cabbage kimchi. With tip it all came out to about $20. It was so flavorful and so filling. Definitely well priced in my opinion. I’m going to be dreaming about this food for a while!
Jess V — Google review
Great little spot hidden behind Central Avenue. We did not realize till we got there that they've got a great menu with various Korean Mexican fusion dishes, like birria ramen and a variety of Korean tacos, and the great selection of beverages as well. The food is very delicious. I got bibimbop and they had a selection of different kinds. It took a while to get our food, but it was busy. And it's very much self-service from getting your utensils to bussing your own tables. We definitely will be going back again.

The quality of food at this place and service is simply some of the best around. Everything they serve is phenomenal and filling. The horchata is the best I've had and all other pale in comparison. My kid loves this spot. He gets the shrimp taco plate. Try it sometime, they are amazing!

Al pastor tacos were dry and seemed like the crumbs from the bottom of the pan. My wife got tamales and enchiladas, and they were also dry. I ordered a tres leches to go and got this tiny, beat-up piece. The cake was dry and tasted very sour. I have been here for lunch, and all of the food was fresh and tasted good. Maybe the food was sitting too long and not cooked fresh.
Derik B — Google review
The barbacoa was good, not greasy. Shrimp was slightly overdone but whole taco was flavorful. Tres leches was too dry. Complimentary salsa was too watery and not too tasty. Staff were friendly. Service was quick, but I was one of two tables.

Those awards on the wall- they deserve all plus more! Don't be fooled, they are no longer on Lomas in that small spot where you ordered outside. They are on Menaul and 4th. More seating but same great service! Wonderful family-owned place! The food is excellent! They have a Cheesecake Factory-type menu! Be prepared for choices! Carne Asada tacos (favorite) Update: 10/2024 Something changed. Maybe an off night, I don't know, but the asada tacos were not the same usually great tasting.

The freshest, fastest and nicest wait staff, simply an excellent lunch experience. This place is super busy but the staff was so nice & unhurried and the food, wow!!! Sister Bar – My Go-To Spot in Albuquerque Sister Bar has been my spot for years, and it never lets me down. Full disclosure, we didn't eat, we did however have drinks and explore the property... if you enjoy eclectic locations you will LOVE, Sister! With 10+ pinball machines, an old photo booth and various other old timey vending machines this place has a "shot back in time" feel. While at the same time it's cozy and relaxing, smooth jazz plays over the sound system too. The bartender really knows his stuff, a lil snarky but in a fun way. All in all if you are looking for a truly unique place to grab a drink, learn some history and kick back Sister bar is the place for you. Oh and they have live music in the back in the evenings!!

apparently by state law, we had to show physical ID in order to get in. They did not accept a digital one. so heads-up before you go. luckily our hotel was very close so we got our id's and returned (we were supposed to meet friends that were already there). it took about 20 min to the bartender to take our order. the place itself is nice, good atmosphere, kind people. you need 4 quarters (1$) to have 3 balls to play, so keep a change with u.

Came here with the family for lunch. We waited for about 10-15 minutes to be seated on the patio. The patio was wonderful and had a nice cool breeze. We ordered our food and waited and waited and waited for about an hour. Just for us to find out our waitress forgot to put in out order. I ordered a Baja blue burger and the wife ordered the fish and chips. The waitress brought out a good chunk of food and then left for another 10 minutes to bring me my burger. I took a bite out of my burger to find that it had no flavor or BBQ sauce on the burger as it described. We Finally asked the gentleman who seated us for a manager and the gentleman advised us that he was the manager and owner of the restaurant. He was the most helpful person there and fixed our issues he then told us about the labor shortage he has been dealing with. Makes me sad to hear this. I wish I could give more stars.

Was walking around Old Town, happened upon this gem. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was a very popular place, got there right before the lunch rush and it got packed. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Enjoyed the cherry margherita. If you are watching your salt intake, go easy on the chips and salsa, and waffle fries. They are salty. The Southwestern Chicken Sandwich seems popular. It was good, but note: it is dark meat chicken with a cornmeal coating. I wish it was specified on the menu because it wasn't what I expected. Nevertheless, it was good to try something a little different.

Easy walk from the Albuquerque Museum. My wife went for the pork burrito with queso sauce since her stomach does not tolerate spicy food. Declared it to be the best burrito she has had. I had the duck tacos (3) with a Milk Chocolate Stout. Great combination. The tacos were in 2 soft corn tortillas each so it didn't fall apart in your hands. Stout was splendid with it. Good service. Basic grill with tables and booths. The table tops are bare so not fancy. Food is a little pricey ($13.89 for each entree) but good.

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS Diane and I were here back in May and we really enjoyed it so I'm back for lunch. Everything had to be served as takeout except I got a real glass for tea. Notice the umbrella pose😀. So I had the street tacos of beef, chicken and pork. I started with chips and queso which are both extra, no free chips. The chips needed to be fresher but the quest was good and thick, I just don't think that little cup was enough for $3. The tacos were stuffed but the meats were a dry. This time was just not as good as last. Maybe we'll try it again, I dont know.

Update May 10th: We love the food, always delicious. However the more we've gone we discover a few things that definitely scratch off a star or two due to business procedures. Notices at register posted - see photo: If you go with a friend or two or three, split pay with a credit card the business adds .93 cents for "processing fees" to each person who pays separate with a card. We go only during lunch with colleagues from work and do not pay for each other's meals (although very tasty!). 20% gratuity is automatically added unless requested to be removed?? Today three of us from work went to eat lunch and got up to pay at register since no ticket or inquiry was provided at the table. One paid with credit card and was assessed the .93 cent fee for paying with an "inconvenient" credit card. Myself (found $15 in purse, bill was $12 and change!) and other coworker paid in cash and we were due change back. Our waitress stated she has to go try to find our change (my change was $2.74 and other was $.26). Came back with my $2 dollar bills and said if it's alright to give us a whole dollar for change she couldn't make (as she was digging thru her tips in pockets). We told her to keep it for tip even though cash tips were already left on our table. Maybe I'm just picky or complaining too much but this is not a good way to run a business. Excellent location, great seating outside and smaller seating inside. The food is delicious, the portions are huge and prices are reasonable since it is around tourist old town. I have never been to a restaurant that puts the operation costs back on to the customer (or maybe I've been duped 😯 lol). Then to not have change for charges paid where also in the past our total has been rounded up!? I think the wait staff are who suffer the consequences who like today she was willing to give us our meal change from her tips and not replaced! We hate going back due to these terrible procedures but food keeps luring us back...then...we walk out grumpy for getting screwed in a sense. Every time. Our advice: pay for your friend's meal and kindly request to remove 20% gratuity automatically added. Or sit at separate tables, order your meal then look across the room, spot your buddy from work (wink, wink) and then sit together. RIDICULOUS. This was actually a recommendation by our waiter from our last visit!! The wait staff and service is fantastic, the food comes out very quick and looks amazing! We hope management can fix a few things because all this food talk makes me hungry for some more old town street tacos again!!! 2 mos ago: Service has always been friendly and attentive during lunch dining. Food portions are large and always tasty!

Farmers' market
Nestled in the heart of Albuquerque's historic Barelas neighborhood, the Rail Yards Market is a vibrant weekend destination that breathes life into the community. Every Sunday from May through October, this bustling marketplace transforms an old blacksmith shop into a lively hub featuring over 200 vendors. Here, you can explore an eclectic mix of fresh produce, artisanal baked goods, unique crafts, and stunning artwork—all while enjoying live music that enhances the atmosphere.
This market is definetly bigger than Growers Market on Saturdays (same vendors + more). Lots more artisans here. There is ample covered space, which is always a great attraction for vendors to keep their merchandise away from the elements. The paths around the buildings are paved. Loved seeing the food trucks and food vendors. Maybe some umbrellas and trash receptacles in the eating area would serve in the future. Would love to come back next season. I did leave with my hands full with lunch, a painting, and some earrings. There is parking, but it seemed full. I walked from downtown (~12 minutes) and it wasn't too bad. There will be a Christmas market in Dec for a weekend as well.
Ana L — Google review
Lots of food vendors and other craft and jewelry type vendors here. Some allowed us to be interactive with their display. We only allowed ourselves 2 hours before they closed. We noticed a fair amount of other vendors outside that we did not get to.. next time we're in town we will try to show up earlier so we can see all of the vendors.
Blake S — Google review
I went to an event here today sponsored by the City of Albuquerque Mayor’s Office. We met and ate in one of the partially restored buildings. After the event we got a tour of the Rail Yard buildings including the CNM Film Academy currently being restored and set to open in February’26. This is a modern building built inside the original outside building which is an historic site also under restoration. Another cool building is what the mayor calls “an industrial cathedral.” And yes, there is a farm market here only on Sundays for only 4 hours. And it is the largest farm market in the county with over 200 vendors.
Patty A — Google review
I absolutely love this market! I go strictly for the fresh veggies and fruits, but I always seem to leave with fresh baked goods, too. Great place for a family trip or even an early day date. There are lots of other vendors and food trucks. It's all around a fun place to go to!
Cayte D — Google review
Vendors, you are only open for four hours! Why are you packing up at 1:30? I got there at 1:30 ready to buy, buy, buy. But it's such a crappy vibe when half the places are packing up. I just turned around and left! There should be a policy that vendors cannot pack up until 2 o'clock.
Julee H — Google review
Much bigger than I expected. Bathrooms are trailers and porta potties. So many vendors, some inside some out. Clean and easy to get around. Food was good and I would differently go back.
Patricia H — Google review
So first of all, I just wanted to say that the atmosphere is nice and the people are really kind there and some of the vendors will even give you a small discount but when you’re getting the wick solely card and they’re trying to charge you $30 for 15 apples is ridiculous. We have a WIC card come on like you guys should be giving us with the WIC card some kind of discount and I’m not saying you have to. I’m just saying that it would be nice if you considered that because we get the WIC card because we can’t afford it and if you’re charging us $30 for 15 apples that’s half almost half our money that we get AMD THAKN YOU SOLI MARKET FOR HELPING US THU THE SEASON I WISH YOU COULD TALK TI THESE VENDERS AND SEE IF THERE IS A WAY WE THAT HAVE THE WIC CARD SHOULD BE GIVEN A DISCOUNT AND I’M NOT TRYING TO PUT ANYBODY’S BUSINESS DOWN OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT AND THE LADY THAT HAS THE APPLES DID GIVE ME A SMALL DISCOUNT BUT EVEN AT $25 FOR SOME APPLES THAT’S STILL RIDICULOUS AND I’M I’M SORRY I’M NOT TRYING TO COMPLAIN. I WANTED THE APPLES, BUT I DON’T KNOW. IT’S JUST TOO MUCH BUT THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BUSINESS AND MAYBE ONE DAY WE CAN WORK WORK TOGETHER THE FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE WIC SOLI CARD ? $$$$

Visiting from out of state, this is one of the coolest farmers' markets I've ever experienced and a highlight of my trip! There's a large selection of vendors selling produce, street food, beverages, plants, clothing, art, sculptures, and more, representative of the diverse neighborhood community and celebrating New Mexican culture. Can easily spend an hour here taking it all in. For me, the real stars of the show were the industrial rail yard buildings themselves. Most of my time here was spent just admiring the architecture. From chatting with a security guard, I learned that the buildings are a popular filming location and that both Terminator and Transformers had scenes that were shot here. You can visit the building in the back (the largest one) to see what it looks like in an untouched/abandoned state. A banner on one of the buildings states the Rail Yards will soon become home to a new media academy for filmmaking, which I can get behind.

Since its establishment in March 1992, it has been serving authentic Mexican cuisine at reasonable prices. The restaurant offers a colorful and festive ambiance with occasional mariachi performances and bottomless aguas frescas. Customers have praised the delicious food, including dishes like Huevos Chorizo and Chile Rellenos, which are presented exceptionally well.
I can’t say how many times I’ve actually stopped here while on business trips - many times at the very least. So safe to say this review is well past due. Bandido Hideout has been a very comforting restaurant for me. The service has always been excellent by the three ladies who are typically behind the counter. Always very attentive and respectfully friendly. The food is great, as are the prices. The Michelada (which I am very particular about) is one of the best I’ve had in New Mexico. I think one of the things I like most about this place is that it really reminds me of a Mexican restaurant in Puerto Vallarta/Mexico. A very genuine feel from a culture standpoint. But very welcoming to all at the same time. Can’t wait to stop by when I return to the ABQ. 🤙🏼

We went In for the all you can eat Menudo for 11.99 it was delicious and they have a 2.99 smothered breakfast burrito that was also delicious. The staff were amazing, we will definitely be back.

Everyone liked their food and drinks. No complaints from my kids, which is a plus. I got the Camarónes Bandidos and it said it was hot, it wasn't spicy at all which was disappointing on my end but I added salsa and chilis. Overall good vibe and nice staff.

I have ordered food from here for delivery once. The food was decent. Thanks so much, and God bless you all.

We chose Bandito Hideout because it was close to our hotel and they were open later than many of the other restaurants in the area. This is definitely a cool place! The food was amazing! They have many drink options. I would definitely love to stop back in during my next visit to Alb!

Soup portion is huge! Way too much for one or too. Seafood plate is great and enough for two too. The menudo is okay....was good for my first time but got very light/lack of flavour and thickness for my second time. We all like the chicken soup more~

I remember coming here when I was young, my friends played music, punk rock, Left unsaid and the trauma kids. Good food and lots of fun. The bandido wrestler guy always corralling Us in to have some free chips and salsa and the buffet. So glad to hear it's still open.

Tako Ten is a delightful taco shop that has transitioned from a food truck to a charming brick-and-mortar establishment. Nestled between Thai Street and the Paleta Bar at Bridges on Tramway, this eatery offers an inviting atmosphere filled with vibrant decor and upbeat music, making it an ideal spot for casual dining. The menu features fresh ingredients bursting with flavor, with standout items like the brisket taco salad and their renowned nacho platter that many locals rave about.
Wow! Get a bang for your buck at this taco shop! The fries were crazy good. We had the Saturday shrimp special tacos too. Comes with 3 tacos and a drink for $9.75. Fountain drink selection is pretty limited though. But we will definitely come back to this place for some tacos. The atmosphere is light, with low, upbeat music in the background. There are tons of decorations and stuff to read about on the walls. Great place to hang out, the seating is nice a comfortable without being overcrowded. Many different unique salsa flavors to go with your tacos.
Bryan R — Google review
Not for us… my wife and I love tacos with a burning passion. With that being said, we got the 10 taco plate (one of each taco on the menu) and threw away 75% of or order. We hate wasting food let alone the money (almost $4 a taco). The service was quick, but the proteins (fish, chicken, beef, and pork) were all cold and old. The flavors were not it either. We love to try new food especially new food concepts and they have lots of UNIQUE tacos. We were excited to try them but ended up disappointed at almost every first bite despite the beautiful presentation.
Scarlet V — Google review
Nachos have been good previously, but with carne asada they were WAY too greasy. Soggy chips by the time I got home (10 min). $17 for soggy nachos…
Harrison W — Google review
I would say the tacos are low level. Meats are flavored in taco. Shell itself is warm really and kind of soggy. Service was friendly
Tyler B — Google review
Tacos were just meh. Not enough meat and or texture. Way too much tortilla for how little meat you get, especially for $4 tacos. Just kind of a pile of guacamole and not a lot of flavor.
T S — Google review
I go to Tako Ten weekly… customer service has plummeted with new employees! You are there to be nice to your customers and keep them coming back so if they ask for a special request such as salad dressing with a salad (normal?) don’t roll your eyes and say you don’t have ranch, as the person I was ordering for just didn’t want a dry salad. Or to watch an employee polish her pocket knife while I waited to order. I’ve been in retail management for 17 years - do better with your employees! Tako ten is awesome and I’ll never stop going.
Erin B — Google review
Went to this spot simply because we were on that side of town, but as a fan of real taqueria’s there were some red flags for me: - neon, and a “trendy” interior suggests more energy and resources are spent there than on the food. - any restaurant that uses creative spelling in their name (Smoq, Stk, etc) is usually one who’s hired some marketing team (again not focusing on the food) - no lengua, cabeza, or barbacoa?? Can you even call yourself a taco joint? Maybe that explains the creative spelling. - $4 tacos. Sorry folks, if you’re paying more than $2.75/taco, you’re paying too much. I will say the tortillas were good, but the meats - I ordered carnitas, brisket, al pastor, and fish were pretty disappointing. The carnitas weren’t fatty enough and lacked a lot of flavor, but I’m sure the gringas in the NE heights love them. The “brisket” tasted more like a pot roast cooked in a crock pot and was pretty meh. The spices on the al pastor were pretty good, but the meat again had the texture of something that had been sitting in a crock pot for too long. ABQ needs to get it together and allow spots to do pastor the right way, on a trompo. The fish seemed a bit over fried, and was unfortunately also a bit disappointing. I think they know their meats are sub par because they bury them under piles of sauce (guacamole, etc.). If you’re looking for a trendy spot because you’re too afraid to head south of I-40, or have more money than brains then tako ten is for you. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican style street tacos, there are countless other options in ABQ that are easier on your wallet and way tastier. But I’m sure the gringos love this place, so….

The best nachos in Albuquerque. Their Burque Hamburger is legit. They have a wide variety of tacos, including options for vegans. Seating is not an issue during lunch, but dinner time it is more crowded. I like taking my food to the local brewery next door. This place never disappoints.

Tractor Brewing Company Wells Park is a well-known craft brewery in Albuquerque, boasting four locations across the city. The Wells Park outlet features a new food spot called Taste of Love, offering delectable dishes to complement their wide selection of unique and flavorful beers on tap, along with ciders and wine. Initially relying on food trucks to feed patrons, Tractor (Wells Park) eventually opened its own kitchen after being open for about a year and a half.
Tractor Brewing has the best brewery tag line ever: Get Plowed! I have used it numerous times in my university Marketing courses. Of course, I remind my students that this is hyperbole, not meant to be taken literally. The beers are spot-on excellent, whether at the main brewery in Wells Park or their taprooms around town. I ordered the Sodbuster Pale Ale this time (6.5% ABV; 35 IBU). This is a delightfully refreshing pint, a perfect gateway to hoppier and more robust IPAs, but a standout on its own. It would be easy to consume a few of these in an evening. My friend ordered the New Mexican Lager (5.6% ABV; 23 IBU), which Tractor says is neither American nor Mexican. That’s kind of like saying a band is a little bit rock, a little bit country. Either way, he found it very much to his liking, a very drinkable beverage for hot summer nights. I am thankful to Tractor through the years for hosting Better Call Saul viewing parties, several of which I was able to attend in spite of my location four hours away. There’s a great vibe inside, one that screams community-minded. It seems there’s always something going on at Tractor on the weekends, which keeps people coming back for more. Like me.

First time coming to this location. Beer was excellent. They had a 90s grunge DJ that was awesome. But there’s no air conditioning. People wearing flannel in a 85 degree room is gross.

Really nice brewery outside downtown Albuquerque. They have a wide selection of beers and ciders. Very friendly staff and it definitely has a local pub vibe.

Stout heaven! We went there because they were voted “Best Stout 2023” for Albuquerque and they didn’t disappoint. They had 5 or 6 on draft as well as a myriad of other styles. Cowgirl Coffee Stout was my favorite.

TOP 10 BEST BREWERIES IN ALBUQUERQUE: #9: TRACTOR My name is Matt, Albuquerque’s Brew Reviewer. I’ve tried over 200 local beers, and visited over 40 unique breweries in Albuquerque. You haven’t tried Albuquerque cider unless you’ve gone to Tractor! Offering delicious, sweet, refreshing cider, canned or on draft, and a fun, large selection of beer, with a spacious, decorated, inviting atmosphere, Tractor is serious about brewing. Kind staff, some fun and unique beer flavors, and a great interior. They love to go all out for Halloween. It’s one of those breweries that’s great to go to with friends, because there’s spacious, comfortable booths. The only thing which holds Tractor back is the lack of food, but for a place to get drinks, especially with company, this is a premiere spot in the city to go, which is why it’s the ninth best brewery in Albuquerque. 9/10

Tractor Brewing Company is an absolute gem for beer enthusiasts and those looking for a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere. The first thing that strikes you about Tractor is the warm and inviting ambiance. It's the kind of place where you can kick back and relax with friends, and the rustic décor and cozy seating make it the perfect spot for socializing. Now, let's talk about the beer. Tractor Brewing is known for its outstanding craft brews. The diverse selection of beers caters to various tastes, from hoppy ales to rich stouts. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking for a refreshing pint, you'll find something to satisfy your palate. One of the standout features of Tractor is its commitment to the local community. They often host events, live music, and art shows, creating a vibrant and engaging space that goes beyond just beer. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. If you're not sure which beer to try, they'll happily provide recommendations and make sure you have a great experience. Tractor Brewing Company is more than just a brewery; it's a community hub where you can enjoy exceptional beers, meet interesting people, and soak in the local culture. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, Tractor is a place that feels like home for beer lovers and anyone seeking a relaxed and enjoyable time.

Of all the breweries we visited on our trip to New Mexico, this one had the best server: Mary! That's not to say servers at other places were bad, Mary was just that good! Very friendly and also knowledgable about the beers on tap. Speaking of beers, the ones I tasted here were all very good. I rarely rate a beer as a 5.0 on Untappd but I felt like the Acreage IPA deserved that score. They also have fun names for most of their beers and a funny slogan. And, going a little against the tractor/farm theme, they also have some cool artwork.
Scott L — Google review
Comfortable AND creative! It used to be that I did not favor the beer here, but I really liked the atmosphere. Over time, the beer has improved (I especially like the Milk Stout!) and they have a nice variety of hard ciders (as mentioned by other reviewer‘s) but what I especially appreciate at Tractor Brewing Wells Park is a very homespun and artistic creative energy... They provide an avenue for the burgeoning art scene in Albuquerque. they host a variety of different musicians and musical styles, and they have an intimate and comfortable space. It’s fun and warm, it’s not too noisy, it’s not ultra contemporary... it’s just very comfortable. Yet it is also very interesting and fun. I feel like I can come here either by myself or with friends and feel at home. I feel at home when there’s just a few people in the bar; and I also feel at home when there’s hundreds of people on the bar & grounds and they’re having some special event. So stop in to “Tractor” in Wells Park and you will be welcomed as if coming home after a long hard day. PS: The table service I received at my recent visit was phenomenal. Nearly immediate & very friendly. People have to expect if they visit a bar downtown and it’s super busy that the service is going to be slow and difficult. There’s only so much that the servers can do! If you are in a hurry for a beer go to the bar and get one!!! After that, You won’t notice how long it takes to get the 2nd or 3rd... you can just sit back and enjoy :-)

This gem specializes in Tacos Dorados, or fried tacos, which are a crunchy delight not commonly found at every taco stand. With options like Tacos Dorados Gloria and Tacos Dorados de Asada, there's something to satisfy every palate. For those who prefer a lighter touch, you can swap out pico de gallo for fresh veggies!
Super friendly and food was delicious. The crispy tacos were just the right texture with crisp but a little chewy. She also gave us 2 extra tacos to try!! My fave was barrila. But they were all good, even the potato tacos 🥰

Such a gem! Some of the best, if not THE best, tacos in town! The Dorados Gloria are my favorite, but the birria and asada are delicious as well.

Its take out only, ordered the Gloria sopes, sopes are tiny and come 3 just perfect, come with beans, carne asada, red chile, a bit of cabbage and on the side 2 red and green sauce and a piece of lime. Food was delicious as a native Mexican its hard for me to find good authentic mexican food, this place its delicious, small menu but just on point.

I love the asada tacos here! I finally decided to try this place when I saw how crowded it would get. I was not disappointed! Best tacos ever! My friends and Family have become regulars. This is my first choice for tacos every time! To be fair, I order tacos every time. I had the French fry potatoes once. They are also delicious! Also, the salsa is just wonderful!

I was unsure about what I wanted to order and ultimately decided on two types of taco, but when I picked up my food they told me they added a sample of the Birria just so I could try it which was so thoughtful. The people who work here are so genuine and kind and the food is great.

Would give more than 5 stars if I could…came here for lunch while visiting Albuquerque for the first time and got the Asada fries burrito and it was by far the best burrito I’ve ever had! All the ingredients were super high quality and cooked to perfection! The steak was on par with one of those super expensive steak houses and the fries were tasty and crispy. The hot sauce that came with it was also amazing! Overall amazing place! Would absolutely recommend!!!

Tikka Spice - Desi Street Food Truck is a family-owned business that serves authentic South Asian street food with a fusion twist. The founders, immigrants from Pakistan, have received awards for their culinary excellence. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this food truck offers a unique blend of Pakistani and Indian flavors combined with American Southwestern influences. The menu features dishes prepared using traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients passed down through generations.
So I was at a gathering at ex novo brewery and this food truck was outside and I had heard about the fries by a coworker and I had to try them, oh my gosh they were the best fries I’ve ever had. They have some spicy to them but it was perfect for me, even if spicy isn’t your thing you still have to try these fries. My son ordered a kids cheeseburger with fries and he said it was amazing. I want to add that the people making the food and serving you were awesome and polite and thats not normal nowadays in the public so not only was the food amazing the service was amazing as well. You have got to try the food

The service was amazing, they brought the food to the car! Unfortunately, they didn't have the Cali burrito which we were looking forward to, but the smash burger and bollywood to hollywood fries were amazing!

First time eating here and really impressed with the burger. We got a couple of smash burger without the green Chile and a couple with green Chile. I definitely did not expect the amount of meat on the burger. It was a pleasant surprise! Their fries were flavorful and crisp. They give you a decent amount of green chili. Everything was tasty, even better than a lot of the sit down burger joint. Definitely a must try. Staff were nice too. Keep up the wonderful work!!! Can’t wait to try your other dishes!

Was really excited to try this place after seeing them on Instagram for a long time. Went and got the spicy tikka chicken sandwich (came with fries) with a coke for $21 which I felt was kind of pricey. unfortunately, the sandwich was all breading, which had a funny taste to me that I did not like and a very thin piece of chicken. Willing to try again because I really wanted to like this place but something else from the menu.

Casa Taco, located in the northwest area, offers a variety of delicious tacos and other Mexican dishes. The taquitos and beef puffy taco are particularly noteworthy for their generous portions of flavorful meat. Customers also praise the ground beef, brisket and green chile, and carne asada tacos for their rich flavors. The queso is described as having great flavor with just the right amount of heat. Additionally, the restaurant is commended for its cleanliness and excellent service.
Ok let me tell you about this place! Like omg it's awesome the food is very delicious 😋 and they just open it! I really recommend this place like omg! I'm very picky with my food I ain't gonna lie! I always tell my husband and I quote you can take me to a 5 star restaurant if I don't like the food I won't hesitate on giving a 1 or 2 star depending on the food! What can I say I love food and I must like it in order to give a review! I do read the reviews myself but I also like going and trying it myself so high five for this small joint/restaurant good job on the food and everything 👏 for sure well be back! 😊 blessings everyone!

I hate to even make this review but this is the third time that this location has messed up my tacos. Each time I request no cheese and they have placed cheese. This time was absolutely unacceptable. They made my tacos with cheese then tried to scrape the melted cheese out of the tortillas and pile the shrimp back on top of it like there was never cheese. I have included photos as well. I have loved this restaurant for years but this unfortunately had completely eliminated my faith in this business.

Ordered take out. It was delicious. Serving sizes were large enough that I couldn’t finish. I got the fried mushrooms on impulse and they were amazing! I’ve been thinking about them all day. Even the ranch dressing was delicious. The tacos were really good too. Glad I tried this place. I’m visiting but I will be back.

I’m blown away! I’ve lived over on the west side for years now and I just found this gem on Monday. I can’t believe I’ve never seen or heard of this restaurant. I ordered some chicken tacos and I should have taken a picture to share because they were beautiful, the chicken was rich and buttery, good seasoning. The lettuce was cut thin and nice, and the tortillas were crisped beautifully. The lady behind the register was so sweet, and had great hospitality and energy. The floors were clean, and the restaurant smelled great. The staff seems to be helpful and friendly with each other and all customers. I think her name started with a w, sorry I forgot but everything was amazing. I will be back :)

A friend and I stopped in Thursday night. The first round I got a shrimp taco. I went up to order a second one. The cashier charged for a fish taco and wanted to charge me for another taco because I wanted the correct order. She continued to argue with me and told me that’s what the cook said. They refused to correct it. I threw the taco in the trash can and we left. We won’t be back and be sure to tell others not to go too. I was really nice about it and she was very rude. All she had to do was correct it because it wasn’t my fault at all.

I want to take a moment to recognize Whitney, who consistently goes above and beyond every time we visit. She may not hold the title of manager, but she carries herself like one — with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for her guests. While others may overlook us, Whitney is always the one who steps up, making sure we feel welcomed, heard, and well taken care of. In our experience, she’s the heart of this place. She truly deserves to be a general manager. Leadership isn’t just a title — it’s how you serve. And Whitney embodies that every single time.
Empress O — Google review
We went in yesterday for the first time, and honestly, I should have turned around the moment we walked in. The floors were sticky, and it was clearly not clean behind the counter. The girl working the front wasn't friendly at all—when we asked questions about the menu, she just stared at us without saying a word. Despite that, we decided to give the place a chance and placed our order. A second employee came out from the back, and things just got worse. She didn’t look clean, her hair was down with no hair net or cap, and the area behind the door looked just as dirty. When we got our food, it was awful. We couldn’t even eat it. The Asada burrito tasted like the meat had been reheated multiple times. The chicken tacos were cold, and the beans and rice were just as bad—clearly not fresh and likely reheated too. We ended up throwing out our meals and wasting $25. Safe to say we won’t be coming back. Very disappointing experience.

I pick up from here sometimes. I dont get the hate. The food is good. They are a bit different from other Mexican restaurants so maybe figure out what you like, but the puffy tacos are delicious. Also, they have dr pepper with cane sugar in glass bottles. That alone makes them worth a visit.
