Boyce-Gyro Beach Park, also known as Gyro Beach by locals, is a popular lakefront recreation area in Kelowna. It's a great spot for families with amenities like swimming, playgrounds, and sand volleyball courts. The park faces west, offering stunning sunset views over the lake. Visitors can relax at the sandy beach or enjoy picnics under the shade of trees.
Boyce-Gyro Beach Park is a lively, busy beach in Kelowna, BC. It is set on Okanagan lake, and is extremely shallow, as it is only about waist deep. It’s a great spot to take kids and we met visiting friends and their kids here. There is a playground, and even zip lines on the sand and into the water. Shady trees and sand volleyball courts line the beach. There is a store and rentals for inflatables and water sports. Dogs on leashes are allowed. Parking is pay parking and as it is a very popular park in Kelowna, it can be hard to find an open spot. Lots of tourists here in the summer months, but it is quiet in the offseason, or come early. Lovely spot to watch the sun rise or set and walk along and enjoy the beautiful Kelowna weather.

Must visit this beach!! I love it! Visited from Vancouver for the 5th time in years and have absolutely adored it as always. Perfect place for swimming, the water is absolutely clear, clean, no rocks in the water to hurt your feet, only sand, and the water only comes to your waist even if you go way, way beyond the shoreline (literally went to the middle and could still touch the bottom with my feet). Perfect atmosphere, sand is very nice, grass area, picnic tables etc I just love swimming here!
Jamie J — Google review
So fun for kids lots of shed and zipline ofcourse (2 different types) . You can wash your feet and they have washrooms (so clean) . Clean water for swimming and clean sand for kids can play.
Semah Y — Google review
One of the busiest beaches in Kelowna. Paid parking and dog-friendly on the paths and grass if leashed. Beautiful sunsets and upgraded facilities (seasonal use). If you're visiting town, it's a nice place to visit. There's restaurants and drinks nearby and it looks like they built a beach soccer field. Don't forget to pick up after your pups.
Chris ( — Google review
Beautiful place in the morning but crowds up quick on a summer afternoon. Half the park is beach and half the park is nice grass Feild with sports courts and fields. Dogs are permitted only on the paved walkway between the beach and the grass. Not very pet friendly. Great place to spend on a hot summer day, good views down the lake. Good shopping across the street if you forget any essentials.
Kyle R — Google review
Beautiful beach and park. Great jungle gym for kids with mini zipping, over sand and into the water. Rentable chairs with umbrella dor a 15$ charge for 4 hours. Nice bathrooms, juice vendor. The water goes out for ages, not deep. Gorgeous view, shoppers drugmart just up the street if you forget your sunscreen. I suggest getting to the beach early and get your spot 8:00 amish if you can it fills up quickly. Popular tourist spot.
Trudi M — Google review
It's perfect! There are a lot of things to do here. They offered different activities for kids and adults. They have kids park, small zip line, rental boats, paddles, etc. We can stay on the shade under the big trees sorrounding the whole area. The comfort room is clean, well, because we are quite early there, but it really gets crowded as the time passed by. But that's understandable we just need to distance ourselves to others.
Rhea D — Google review
Nice large beach minutes south of downtown Kelowna. Pay parking is available and a bit small but we always managed to get a space. Sanded or grassed areas to sit. Public washrooms, sand-rinsing taps, picnic tables are available. There is a concession shaped like an apple which sells chips, ice creams and drinks. Ample playground structures for kids to enjoy, including 2 ziplines - one over water and one over the sand. Water is shallow for a long distance in from the shoreline so good for young kids and non-swimmers. Really lovely, tidy and well-appointed beach.

Beach
Hot Sands Beach, located in City Park at the heart of downtown Kelowna, is the city's largest beach offering a range of activities for visitors. The area features a playground, volleyball and basketball courts, picnic areas, and two water parks suitable for kids. Additionally, the beach is adjacent to other parks such as Kerry Park and Stuart Park which offer year-round attractions including a lakeside skating rink in winter.
Hot Sand Beach in Kelowna is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to relax and unwind. From the moment you arrive, you'll notice how well-organized the entire area is. The parking is incredibly affordable, which is always a pleasant surprise, especially considering the quality of the experience that awaits you. One of the highlights is the beautiful water garden, offering a peaceful spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. The beach itself is a place where time seems to fly by without you even realizing it. Whether you're lounging on the sand or taking a dip in the water, the atmosphere is so soothing that you'll find yourself completely at ease. If you're looking to make a day of it, Hot Sand Beach has plenty of spots to set up camp and enjoy the outdoors. Whether you're with family, friends, or just enjoying some alone time, you'll find ample space to settle in and enjoy your day. The experience is so enjoyable that you'll likely find yourself wanting to return as soon as you leave. The combination of affordability, natural beauty, and relaxation makes Hot Sand Beach a must-visit spot in Kelowna. Whether it's your first time or your tenth, the charm of this beach will keep drawing you back.
Kasun H — Google review
The city really needs to do a better job of cleaning their beaches. This is a main beach downtown Kelowna and the sand was full or garbage from cigarette butts to food waste. The bathrooms were generally clean. Considering they charge for parking, they should be combing the sand and cleaning designated areas for people. It was also u fortunate to see alot of people with theirs dogs off leash and not picking up after them.
Naomi K — Google review
Very nice place we plan coming next year🥰
Jennefer G — Google review
It's great. Good sand, clear water (I could still see my feet and the sand with water up to my chest. There's a place to change, a water park, a grassy park, some semi-private bays and an open beach ⛱️. I recommend it.
JP G — Google review
This lovely waterfront park is adjacent to the downtown Marina. It is a beautiful place for a leisurely stroll or activities such as swimming, sunbathing, watersports, beach volleyball etc. We also saw an inflated floating playground on the lake for the kids. The park offers a wonderful view of Okanagan Lake. There are a number of restaurants offering a wide choice of cuisines within walking distance. All in all, a great place to spend an afternoon or evening or the entire day
Kelvin J — Google review
It's a beautiful place to enjoy with the family, but there is always that guy who thinks that signs do not apply to him
Mario E — Google review
Our favourite destination during the summer! This place has a great beach front that has decent access to washrooms, water fountain, basketball court, tennis court, water park, boardwalks, etc. There’s plenty of space even on a busy hot day. Parking can be tricky but if your patient it’s not impossible to get a spot. I highly recommend going here if you’re ever in Kelowna for a beach day!

Fantastic beach day spot , I really enjoyed that there was more adults than children at this section of the beach, It was a great for just laying down and tanning , people watching, there was beach volleyball I enjoyed watching people play, bathrooms were close. Green space and other activities near by which was great !

Strathcona Beach, a small 1-hectare area located just two kilometers south of downtown, is a popular spot for gatherings and quiet days on the coast. It features a designated swimming area, playground, and shallow waters that remain long after stepping off the shoreline. The beach is part of the 28-kilometer Kelowna Paddle Trail, making it ideal for non-motorized boating enthusiasts.
Love this park wish there more like this but bigger kids like to climb higher and swing across parks And parking can ride his bike

It's a beautiful little beach with a great play area for kids. We bought lunch at the wonderful little cafe across the street and had a picnic. There was a nice breeze blowing that kept us cool. The water was great too on July 4th.

Great little hidden away beach spot to relax with or without kids. Nice playground. Shallow water for quite a ways out so good for a swim.
Lynda L — Google review
Small cozy park, where you can get peace of mind. There's cool new playground for kids. They love it.
Nataliia V — Google review
A fantastic Playground and beach - also great green space for hosting birthday parties. The only issue is how crowded it can become for both parking and for the play structure. The beach is nice and sandy but the first couple of feet going into the lake is quite rocky.
Guillermo A — Google review
Gorgeous sunset from Strathcona Beach. Beautifully renovated 2022/23 to include an extravagant, public use, jungle gym with all accessories including a slide guaranteed to to keep your toddlers wanting more. And soft ?rubber sand? (brain f@rt) as well to avoid knee scrapes. A lovely lawn for family events and a well manicured beachfront with little to no seaweeds or rocks; Great snorkeling, with a min. 150 meter walk-in to nearest buoy. A family paradise … for everyone! Cheers All!

Sarsons Beach Park, located just south of Boyce-Gyro Beach in Kelowna, is a hidden gem offering an intimate and quiet charm. The one-hectare park features grass, sand, and shoreline along Lake Okanagan. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the designated zone or take part in activities like kayaking and paddleboarding. The park also offers picnic spots with breathtaking views of Okanagan Lake and nearby mountains.
Great park with lots of amenities, benches, room for activities. Clean beaches and out of the sun if you want to be. Used to be a hidden gem, but can be quite busy now if you don't time it right.

First time here, and it's peaceful 🙏🏻 thank you God for your creation 🙏🏻 😍🥰 appreciate the cleanliness and maintenance, especially the washroom. Keep it up❣️🙏🏻
A C — Google review
Definitely a must visit place if you're in Kelowna. I would say the best place to view the sunset along the Okanagan lake. Washrooms are available. Parking space is not that large enough, but street parking is available. Need to walk a bit if you're parking your vehicle on the streets.
Abhishek D — Google review
Must visit in Kelowna at anytime to truely enjoy nature. The wind and vibe was awesome. Sunset is beautiful and clean washrooms are available. Plenty of parking and one can enjoy some beer at specific spots too
Gunjan V — Google review
This beach has lots to offer for space either on the sand to build sandcastles or on the grass to picnic. There's big shady trees when the sun is at it's peak and many places to enter the cool lake for a dip, float or boarding, whatever your heart desires. *Bonus, public washrooms
Mona-Lee — Google review
Nice little beach to hang out at the lake. Was too cold at the time for my liking but enjoyed sitting on the grass in the sun, there's sand if you prefer that. Lots of people were there but it is a spacious beach that it didn't feel like there was any crowding. And the parking lot is super close
Crystal H — Google review
A really nice beach nestled in the lower Mission area. Good parking with more on the road. It has a really nice playground, grass area and washrooms. Great place for families. They recently have been adding sand to the beach to get rid of the rocks. The shallow water is rocky so you will want to wear sandals or Crocs.

Beautiful beach. Not overly crowded. Great little playground for the kids. Sand area to play in. Bathrooms were older but clean.

Tugboat Bay is a popular spot in Kelowna, offering a range of water activities and beautiful waterfront views. Located downtown, it provides easy access to watercraft rentals from Okanagan Beach Rentals, allowing visitors to enjoy kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and more. The beach features soft sand and sparkling waters, making it an ideal place for a leisurely summer day. Additionally, there are food options available on-site as well as nearby restaurants within walking distance.
Our family found this to be a GREAT place to have a family beach day or picnics any time the weather is good. The water quality is generally quite good in this location with some exceptions. I recommend personal items be stored secure as possible while on the beach. Keep your eyes open for sharps; as goes for every beach theses days. The city of kelowna does a good job of maintaining the beach and surrounding areas.
Mathieu F — Google review
Oh boy, let me tell you about Tugboat Beach in Kelowna! First of all, it's beefcake season all year round—and yes, we love it. The beach is practically a runway for sun-kissed, six-packed, protein-shake-swigging men who look like they walked straight out of a fitness magazine's "Hot or Not?" section. Honestly, the beefcake parade is so consistent, I'm wondering if there's a secret gym hidden in the sand dunes! The water is as clear as my teenage angst and perfect for doing absolutely nothing in, except maybe gawking at the passing parade of muscles. It's the best kind of people-watching if that's your jam, and hey, the view ain't too shabby either! Now, why only four stars, you ask? Well, there's a slight, teensy-weensy issue. The seagulls must've been trained by Hitchcock because they have an uncanny knack for stealing your snacks the second you look away. One minute you're enjoying your poutine, the next it's airborne, destination: Seagull City. So, come for the beefcakes, stay for the laughs, and maybe guard your snacks like they're a secret diary. Four stars!
Andrew M — Google review
We come almost every year....love this beach...great swimming area, never excessively crowded, and the Tugboat Beach food vendor serves up some delicious hotdogs and frozen lemonade...lots of geese though, so you have to watch your step no matter where you walk...great for people watching and absorbing your vitamin D!
Sabine K — Google review
A lovely area featuring walking paths as well as a small wetland/wildlife sanctuary. Beautiful and maintained yearround. Went there today in the middle of some heavy snow and still was able to encounter many ducks as well as a polite trio of deer.
Spencer K — Google review
Overall nice beach, great for boating but huge rocks and very hard to get across if your not use to slippery big rocks and have bad balance... haha
Shawna — Google review
A beautiful area, you can spend a whole day here just relaxing and taking in the vibes.

Bear Creek Provincial Park, situated on the shores of Okanagan Lake just 11 kilometers north of Kelowna, is a popular destination for camping and outdoor activities in the Okanagan Valley. Spanning 178 hectares, the park offers a campground with amenities suitable for both RV and tent campers, as well as over five kilometers of picturesque forest and canyon trails. With 400 meters of beachfront along the lake, visitors can enjoy swimming and other daytime pursuits.
A wonderful place to walk in all seasons. The trail is very well maintained. You can see the waterfalls from the top in summer, spring and fall. However in winter you can walk on the creek between the canyon and go to the base of the waterfall. I should add that it is not very safe to do so. Because you are walking on a thin ice on a creek so be very careful and use hiking poles to ensure the next step is safe when you are hiking to the waterfall. I usually see lots of kids and dogs on this trail so it is family friendly. There is also washrooms in the parking lot plus a map. Overall I really recommend to try this hike in winter. It was magical
Lily B — Google review
Bear Creek Provincial Park in west Kelowna, BC is has beautiful hiking trails for scenic views of Okanagan Lake. The hike is tough though and steep and it can be pretty rough on a smoking hot day, like when our family did it. There are shaded areas deeper into the forest though, but take lots of water on a hot day. There is a lovely creek with cold, clear water and great views of Okanagan lake from the top. A big canyon cuts through the mountains as well. The park has campgrounds and sand beaches. A nice place to hike and enjoy nature. We also saw a huge, eagles nest in a tree and there are some areas burnt from forest fires.
Kevin J — Google review
We’ve been a few times and really like this campground. It has a beautiful beach and nice open field area. Last years trip was cancelled due to the fire. I just took a quick look at the hiking trails in my recent trip to Kelowna. Unfortunately, that side of the park was closed and presumably burned out. The photos are from the road. It was such a nice hike.
A B — Google review
Good. Bathrooms and showers and sites were clean and taken care of. They drove around in golf carts. Bad There is no trail as noted on the map. The bushes are all overgrown. Barely any beach. No dog beach. Bird poop on the beach. There were people hogging the beach by leaving all their chairs, etc. there the whole week .
Diane K — Google review
Very decent hike for the mediocre hiker. I enjoyed the mixed of stairs and the slopes. I would not recommend with little kids as there is very steep trails are there. I enjoyed a lot being first time on this trail. I would also recommend going with hike buddy to support each other in case of emergencies.
TRP — Google review
Great hiking trail, it is quite the climb to start, but nothing too bad. Once you get to the creek there are spots to go in and chill out, once you're you're ready to keep going you'll cross a bridge over the creek and from that point on there is no more water so I'd recommend soaking your shirt before you cross the bridge since the rest of the hike you're pretty exposed to the sun.
Branden Z — Google review
A diamond in the rough just off Westlake road in west Kelowna . . This provincial park delivers at all levels. Great clean sandy beach , well maintained. Large and small RV spots along with great tenting spots . Great spot for a day trip as well for all your lake needs, paddle boarding, kayaking. Swimming etc Staff are super courteous and helpful . Check it out 🤙
ScottF — Google review
This is not for the camping area, this is for the hiking trail across the road! Nice workout to start whether you do the stairs along the path to the right (approx. 147 of them) or if you head up the path to the left. Trail is a circle, with side paths to get you to view points and down to the water. The viewpoints on the north side of the canyon are better to see the waterfalls. Nice views of downtown Kelowna, the bridge and the lake from a bench on the south side of the canyon. In winter wear ice grips for traction, the far end of the canyon is shaded and can be very icy. Parking is available at the base and can be busy in the summer. There is toilet near the parking. Parking is closed off in the winter but you can park on the road on the lake side, just be mindful of the no parking signs and avoid that area. If you are unsteady on your feet or have difficulty walking, be careful as there is loose rock and gravel throughout and a couple sets of awkward stairs. This trail is an easy walk, up the stairs or up the hill will get your heart pumping but the rest is fairly flat.

Nestled along the picturesque Lakeshore, Bertram Creek Regional Park is an 18-hectare haven offering a range of activities for nature enthusiasts. With its boat launch, dock, pebble beach, and various walking trails, the park provides opportunities for boating, swimming, bird watching, and photography against the backdrop of Okanagan Lake. Visitors can also make use of picnic tables and playing fields or take advantage of the outdoor amphitheater and pavilion for events.
Great park with a few beaches to choose from to hangout on. There's 2 actual parking lots to choose from, the extra one is just up the road. The beach we visited was in a nice cove and had a rocky beach area. No sand to get places you don't want. There was a bathroom close by the beach as well. There's a large soccer field area at the top area by the parking lot with only one goal posts. Water was nice and the crowd was family, couples and everyone else.

I love coming here! So nice and peaceful! The creek adds another layer to the water ambience ❤ it doesn't run all year though as I found out today (creek was dry) Downside is that if you arent paying attention or if they sign is covered in snow you miss the turn off. But overall I freaking love it there!!!

This park is suitable for people of any age, with plenty of parking. Several simple trails are convenient for parents and children. Fishing dock, beautiful view of the lake, a good place to picnic on the wide lawn and enjoy the sunset in summer. You can also rent some places in the park for outdoor parties and weddings. Bring children and pets to play in the park beware of mosquitoes and ticks.

Rotary Beach Park is a 1.5-hectare waterfront park that offers a sandy beach, swimming area, restrooms, playground, and trails. It's a quieter option for families with small children compared to the bustling Gyro Beach. The park provides plenty of amenities including picnic areas and rental options from Okanagan Beach Rentals. Visitors can enjoy the clean sand and crystal-clear water while having access to proper facilities without dealing with large crowds downtown.
Rotary Beach Park in Kelowna is a hidden gem perfect for a serene escape. Its tranquil setting, especially during sunsets, is simply breathtaking. Watching the sky paint itself with vibrant hues while the gentle waves lap at the shore is an unforgettable experience. The park also offers a delightful playground for kids, making it a family-friendly destination. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the charming ducks that frequent the area, adding a touch of nature's beauty to your visit.

Went there for sunset until late evening and it was peaceful. We enjoyed a quiet picnic by the waters along the benches and watched people walk by with their dogs. Live music in the background by a local bar was a pleasant bonus and the ambience itself was just memorable. Clean and spacious with well maintained washrooms.

One of the free , pretty and clean beach in Kelowna just along the road. This place is clean and nice , people are also nice and the water is good to swim at There is a nearby dock that you can see seaplane landing. Good for kids to play on the playground and water. There is also a rental place for water equipment and activity..

Grass and sand. Paddle board rental shop. Medium sized beach park. Easy access. Several picnic tables and benches. Kite surfing is popular here.
Dylan B — Google review
We came to this park by accident but actually it was a great choice. We rent the paddle boat here for $25/hour which allows 2 adults and 2 kids on board. It won’t allow you to go too far on the lake though. There’re lots of shades and this park is not too busy.
Sophie W — Google review
I live right beside this beach and it awedome:) Great for kids with a playground at one end of the beach. The water stays shallow fairly far out and there's always a tacho bender there that has cherittos or however you spell it lol. You can also rent water bikes and peddle boat, paddle boards.

Everything you need. Sand. Swimmable water. Bathrooms and change rooms. Grass. Playground. Parking. Loss of 1 star goes to the water needs tk be cleaned up. Both natural and people garbage floating around. And, parking is an issue during busy times.y husband dropped us off and left. There was parking around 6pm as people were leaving.

Very great beach to enjoy the sun, the water, and the beauty of the Okanagan! I usually come down to this beach at least one day a week and enjoy the sunset set over beautiful Okanagan lake. This is a great beach because it’s family friendly and also close to restaurants/stores! Definitely check this beach out if you’re in town!

Nestled in the picturesque Lower Mission area, Rotary Beach is a delightful destination for families and water enthusiasts alike. This well-kept beach spans 1.5 hectares and features soft, fine sand that’s perfect for crafting sandcastles or simply soaking up the sun. The shallow waters, thanks to a long sandbar, make it an ideal spot for kids to splash around safely.
A beautiful place to walk, accessible to everyone. Enjoy the lake and water fowl. On occasion you will see a beautiful bald eagle, and a Beaver.

We love it here! Very nice and quiet park right by the lake in West Kelowna. Totally different experience comparing to our visit to the Kelowna City Park earlier. Not crowded at all and you get to enjoy the comfortable breeze by the lake even when it's 35 degrees outside. Parking is a bit limited so it might take a while to find a spot on busy days.

A nice simple little Park. Easy to drive to. There is no beach only steps to the water. Without a beach it seems that there are mostly adults at this park. There is a dog park nearby and there is a steady stream of people walking their dogs. However I haven't found a mean dog or any dog poop anywhere near the park. Grab a coffee at McDonald's drive down the hill and relax

Fantastic park with easy beach access. Perfect for floating. Good shade and many happy dogs due to the nearby dog beach. Plenty of parking and the ice cream truck makes visits.

Kalamoir Regional Park, situated on the western side of Okanagan Lake in Kelowna, offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The park is a hidden gem that provides an ideal vantage point to witness stunning sunrises and dramatic sunset silhouettes. In spring, the hillsides are adorned with vibrant yellow Arrowleaf balsamroot flowers, creating a picturesque setting for waterfront strolls and hillside hikes.
Beautiful little area that’s especially good if you want somewhere with lots of little nooks and crannies so you can find your own quiet area of the beach, absolutely lovely place to paddleboard, and I quite enjoyed my birthday there, especially since I asked my best friend for a quiet place to go!!

Nice off the beaten path local park with views of Okanagan Lake and the mountains. This is not a fancy park with a lot of amenities. There are nice walking paths and some picnic tables and it’s generally quiet.
Charlene W — Google review
Beautiful nice loop trail to walk with kids and doggy. Not too many people and path was well maintained. Just be careful that there are many tiny cactus rolling on the side of path and our puppy stepped onto few of them. It was quite painful to remove them as well.
Judy W — Google review
One of my favorite places to walk my dog. The main access via Collins Hill has a gate that is often closed in the winter (probably because the road down to the small parking lot is quite steep and would be treacherous in the snow) but the trails can be accessed on either end by the Sunnyside or Casa Loma neighborhoods (limited street parking) or off of Collins Road. The lower trail is fairly wide and follows the lake and has vault toilets and trash cans midway (please pick up after your dog!). There is a unfenced dog beach area (a bit more natural -no sandy smooth beach here) - this is the only off-leash area. The upper trail is very narrow but has beautiful views. Watch out for patches of a prickly pear low growing cactus - they will get stuck in your dog's paws- they are in a few areas just off the upper trail. Note that these trails tend to get quite busy in summer and on weekends. Also a nice place to launch your kayak with a dock that has a launch for handicapped (only in the summer).

Paul's Tomb is a popular 4.8km hiking trail in Kelowna, known for its easy difficulty level and scenic views. Visitors can enjoy private beaches, cliff jumping, and stunning lookout points along the way. The trail also offers facilities such as benches, signage, and an outhouse at the start and midpoint.
Gorgeous! Worth it for the views! However, it is not an easy hike. Lots of steep areas and lots of ways to lose the trail ☺️

Beautiful area , great hike to get there. 3 ways to get down.. don’t do the biking trail version going down from Camelot trail (in the grass to the right) unless you want a pretty crazy downhill. Doable , but not easy for beginner hikers . Bring lots of water it hiking back up the mountain

paul's tomb trail ⛰️ a chill 25-min walk with stunning lake views along the way. not too steep, just steady and scenic. perfect for a light hike if you’re craving nature without the extreme climb.
Dinoammi — Google review
Heads up: You won't find Paul's tomb in Paul's Tomb. Relatively-easy hike. I think it's a kid- and dog-friendly trail too as the trail isn't steep and it's got some good views along the beach. If you want some more exercising, I'd suggest taking Knox Mountain's Apex Trail and work your way up. The lake was also pristine clear too so consider bringing your swimming suit and jump in in the middle of the scorching Kelowna summer!

Please visit this place, it is worth it. It’s worth the hike; it’s an easy hike, not too high of an elevation. It is good for all ages. The view is spectacular! After the hike, I recommend going for a swim. It’s refreshing 🫰🏻

Nataliia V — Google review
Wide trails with packed dirt surfaces, rails on the most dangerous parts makes this approx 3.5 km hike an easy one. Great for a stroll in the morning to view the many vista's along the way. The beach is not Sandy but a wonderful place to swim and explore cavern type surroundings. The trail from the beach takes you to a nearby community so if you want to call for a cab or friend to pick you up or drop off a few cold drinks, you could! :-) If your feeling you need more of a workout, try one of the other trails enroute that lead you to the top of Knox Mountain.

Kal Beach is a beautiful spot with stunning views and clear water, perfect for family outings and enjoying the outdoors. However, it does come with a couple of inconveniences. Parking is available for free, but you’ll need to walk a bit from the lot to reach the beach area. Additionally, the closure of the restroom facilities during our visit put a damper on our time there, as it made things less convenient, especially with family members. Despite these minor setbacks, the beach’s natural beauty still makes it worth a visit!

Very nice beach with soft sand and huge trees for great shade. Water is very warm where it’s shallow (which much of it is), and the pier reaches the deeper part, perfect for jumping off. Nicely sectioned off from the boating activity, and great views of Kalamalka.

Beautiful beach ⛱️. There is a long walking pier that leads out further I to the water. The "older kids" seem to occupy the dock. Although anyone can use the dock, it must be the "cool" place to hang out. There's roughly 4 volleyball nets, separated along the beach. There are public washroom that are available to use and they are well kept clean( as clean as sandywet feet on floors can stay). Next is a food shack that have all the go to's favourites and There are plenty of picnic tables to use while at the beach. It's a must go to for those hot summer days, the whole family will enjoy. Pack some chairs, blankets and even a picnic if you like! Enjoy Kal Beach.

Waterfront Park is a charming city park located in Kelowna's city center, offering stunning views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding landscape. The park features a picturesque boardwalk that stretches along the lake, providing an ideal setting for leisurely strolls and capturing Instagram-worthy moments, especially during autumn when the foliage turns vibrant shades of red and gold. Additionally, visitors can enjoy public art displays, beautifully landscaped gardens, and frequent outdoor performances at the park.
Small sand area, not too crowded. You can walk to the west Kelowna bridge via the harbour and park paths, about 40 minutes without rushing. Many restaurants and play options. The pathway is wide but be careful with bikes and skateboards as it is shared, kids need more attention walking both ways. Well maintained, there is a public water park and a large playground near the bridge, a roller skate area in the middle that converts to ice skating in winter, and a floating paid park in a section of the Okanagan lake. Beautiful natural landscape.

Three Mile Beach, also known as a nude beach, is a popular swimming spot on Okanagan Lake between Naramata and Penticton. It's situated on a narrow peninsula, making it perfect for activities like swimming and sunbathing. The beach is relatively secluded with limited parking, but it's an ideal place to relax after touring the nearby wineries in the Naramata region. While clothing is optional at this beach, visitors are advised to be respectful of others enjoying the area.
Great nude beach. When I went it was mostly men (some women) but no one was creepy and it felt very natural. There is a main beach area at the beginning where you can relax and if you keep walking up there are plenty of semi-private spots if you'd rather be more secluded. Edit: Went for a second visit. 50/50 men & women. Still no creeps and the "crowd" was small. Maybe 14 people in total along the whole beach. Both times I went was during a weekday.
Spencer M — Google review

I love to go when I get the chance. It can be a little shy of parking. However, most the faces are full of smiles. Clothing optional. The first time I went I was a little shy. Now, I don't care. It has a few spots where people can feel eyes are watching. It s a bit of a pick up spot some days. If u go early and know where to pick u can have nearly full privacy.

We had a freeing and relaxing afternoon at Three Mile Beach. I wish there were more nude beaches in BC and Canada. Parking lot was small and it wasn't clear where to go to get down to the beach but we figured it out.

Nice secluded beach that is located through a small access road. Perfect place to relax after going through a wine tasting tour on the local wineries that are found all over the place. Nothing like jumping into the cool lake after a long hot day! The old ferry dock structure provides a very nice atmosphere for playtime on the water, including a rope swing and lots of space and platforms to jump or dive off of. There is a small beach accessible and places to sit with friends and family, maybe to have a picnic or to take the dog to cool off. This is a great beach for families as it is not as busy and definitely more kid friendly. Great for paddle boarding or floating. The beach is more rocky and water shoes are needed to make it more comfortable. Sometimes boats fly by causing wakes so it can get big waves if boaters don't slow down making it interesting for paddle boarding. There is a pier too that you can jump off or lower your into your floaties.

Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone looking for a calm and scenic getaway.

Kelowna City Park is such a beautiful and well-maintained spot! It’s clean, organized, and perfect for both daytime and evening walks. The atmosphere is relaxing, with lots of space to enjoy the views, fresh air, and nature. A great place to spend time with family or just take a peaceful stroll by the lake. Highly recommended!
Jamal D — Google review
Awesome park with a splash pad, kids play structure, skate park, beach and a on the water activity park. Change rooms and washroom are available. The only downside is trying to find a parking spot. Might have to park outside the park and walk.
Dragos N — Google review
Kelowna City Park is such a lovely spot! The park is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing day outdoors. The waterfront views are beautiful, and there are plenty of walking paths, picnic areas, and green spaces to enjoy. Great for families, friends, or just some quiet time in nature. Definitely a must-visit when in Kelowna!

Gellatly Dog Beach is a popular spot for dog owners, especially in the fall and winter when water levels are low. It's an off-leash park with a small beach area where dogs can run, swim, and socialize with other pups. The beach can get crowded in the summer due to tourists, but it offers fabulous views of the lake. Despite occasional crowding, visitors appreciate the clean environment and respectful attitude of other dog owners.
Such a beautiful beach for dogs to be able to swim, easy access to be in the water ourselves with our dog. If your dog can’t handle being off leash I don’t recommend being there as in our experience we’ve had some rude dog owners and dogs nipping at ours because they can’t handle the off leash part. Nice thing is there is two entrances and it’s slightly separated by a large tree with a small body of cold water in between
Tannis S — Google review
Such a wonderful place to let your pups run free and enjoy the water and beach as much as we do. So fun to watch all the dog energy and interactions. Had a blast there!
Sharon W — Google review
Nice place to bring your dog in the fall or winter when water levels are down. This is an area you can let your dog run free, meet other dogs, and swim. Little busy in the summer with tourists stopping by. (Update) The beach is pretty small in summer due to high water levels. During this time, it gets too crowded and lots of owners don't pick up after their dogs and hide it in the sand. Please take care of our dog beach!
Chris ( — Google review
Love the location! The big trees overhanging the creek are amazing. Lakeside and right near the warf .
Kris L — Google review
Super nice dog park. Clean, fenced off & even had doggie poo bags. Dogs of all sizes could play while the fur parents enjoyed the beach.
Diana H — Google review
Dogs playground! Lots of friendly dogs to play and run and swim and fetch. One side is off leash and the other side is with leashes but dogs can't read so it's just one big stretch of fun.
Carmelinda C — Google review
Nice to have a fenced place to let the dog have a swim. The view isn't half bad either

Checked out this beautiful dog beach while on a little day trip. Well kept. Shady spots available. We could have spent a lot longer here. Next time!

Tugboat Beach is a popular spot located not far from downtown Kelowna, along the boardwalk towards Knox Mountain. It's known for its lively atmosphere with food trucks and live concerts often happening there. The beach offers various trails in every direction, making it an ideal place to spend the day. Additionally, vacation rentals in South Pandosy and near Gyro Beach and Tugboat Beach provide access to private beaches perfect for leisurely sunbathing days.
Close to our Air BNB, a short walk to the beach, was a clean beach. Nice board walk and close to a lot of amenities.
Austin M — Google review
Very nice small beach with a mountain view. But some people are ignoring the No Dog sign. We specifically selected this beach as we hoped it doesn't have any dogs, but we saw at least 3 or 4 dogs in a very short time we spent there.
Oksana S — Google review
Great place to enjoy the summer. Had a nice beer on the beach, and floated in the water for some time. There are benches and some trees above the beach for some shade from the blazing okanagan sun.
Tom S — Google review
Small, but less crowded beach. A good place to wade in the water.
Michael G — Google review
Nice small beach with good views of the lake. I guess most people visit the beach for sun but it you're looking for some shade that's a little difficult to find here 😂 There's plenty of parking and bathrooms nearby.

Kin Beach is a public park located by the lake and offers various amenities such as play equipment, sand volleyball court, a picnic pavilion, and grassy areas. The water at the beach is relatively warm with some water grass, wood chips, sandy and rocky shoreline. However, it's worth noting that there are no dogs or campfires allowed in the area. Additionally, camping isn't permitted on-site.
Very nice beach and park we often go for picnic and stroll. The view of the lake is stunning. Beach is clean.

Umm to much geese/cobra death chickens here, there's more geese then people, I wouldn't recommend coming here with kids that like to chase animals they will attack I will never come here again
Kahlan M — Google review
Plenty of free parking, a good view, and peacefully quiet. Saw this from a tourist map picked up at Davison Orchard and decided to visit this location after our road trip based by Vernon. It wasn't outstanding to receive a 5 star, but definitely earns a 4.

Beautiful Beach Picnic tables along the beach, park for the kids, Worth the sight and beauty of the Okanagan
Brenda H — Google review
This park has sadly become worse and worse over the years... the kids call it the GPP (goose poop park) It has a beautiful sand volleyball area, playground and large trees to enjoy, but the geese have made it impossible to enjoy. The poop problem had gotten so bad that there have been swim advisories. Take a pass until the city figures it out.

Water is pretty warm. It has some water grass and wood chips, sandy and little rocky beach. Personally, don’t like geese or ducks around lake due to hygiene considerations. No dog, No campfire, No camping.

Outdoor Activities
Powell Beach offers a splendid shoreline with a small play area and vast sandy expanse. Despite the abundant geese, this beach receives high praise. The children can enjoy a petite water slide while the hammock-friendly trees are thoughtfully spaced out. Although the bathrooms were clean, soap was unfortunately lacking. A bylaw officer marked tires to prevent overnight stays in motor homes.
Great beach. Small playground. Large Sandy beach. Even though there’s a lot of geese I’m still giving it 5 stars. Tiny slide for kids to slide into the water. Trees perfectly spaced out for hammocks. Bathrooms were clean but out of soap. Bylaw drove by and marked our tires with chalk to make sure we didn’t spend the night ? (We are in a motor home). Inflated our paddle boards and enjoyed the water. It’s a beautiful lake. Loved how it wasn’t overly busy on a hot Saturday morning and afternoon. Bathrooms were clean but out of soap. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
Mike K — Google review
This is a very kid friendly park; far less crowds than similar beaches nearby. Has swings and water slide. Focused in local crowd (vs tourism). Excellent beach and big trees for shade. North facing.
Chris B — Google review
Lovely hidden beach. Very sandy and plenty of shallow waters for kids to play in. Plenty of parking and trees provide some shade on the hot days.
Macio L — Google review
This is a beautiful sandy beach, swings for kids, and lots of grass for them to run around. Lots of parking, and bear picnic tables, even a shower
Dolly F — Google review
Powell Beach is one of Summerland's best kept secrets. This is a great beach off the beaten path - not really very easy to find, but worth the effort. Nice sandy beach, fire pits, picnic tables & clean restrooms. Great boat area & even a light house to swim out to. You might even spot the ogopogo.
Where A — Google review

Peach Orchard Beach Park is a delightful destination that beautifully combines nature and community spirit. Nestled near downtown Summerland, this park features a stunning sandy beach with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, perfect for families due to its calm, shallow waters. The park is also home to the Centennial Trail and Rotary Lakeshore Loop, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls or bike rides.
Love the fenced off leash dog park, we come here almost everyday to exercise and socialize our dogs. Big enough to throw ball and frisbee safely without getting in the way of other dog owners. Great shade and tables to rest and socialize at. Before the dog park was opened, this field was unused and full of nothing but goose droppings and often used by boaters for parking their trailers. Since the dog park the place is active, loved, and enjoyed by many!
Robert H — Google review
Beautiful, large park, with a fully fenced off leash area for the dogs to run and play. A real gem.
Wade H — Google review
Beautiful park. Lots of parking. Sandy beach with pebbles. Water has mixture of a Sandy bottom or rocky bottom. Few clams. Really big splash pad that was fairly empty even on a hot Friday afternoon. Lots of picnic tables and benches. Lots of shade. Bathrooms. Playground. Everything you need and more for a family beach day.
Mike K — Google review
FIVE STARS! (Would only let me do a two-star rating.) We -- my husband, dog (Archie) and I, all love this dog park! When my son and his family visit from Victoria, they use this park too! There's enough room for Archie to run like a fiend to catch his ball or frisbee and it's great to connect with new folks and people I know. It's safe, clean, well-maintained and the dog beach is a short distance away to cool off afterwards.
Toni B — Google review
Beautiful boardwalk! They have a great kids park. The lake views are wonderful as you walk right along it. Then you walk through a marsh with different plants and wildlife and birds.
Adonica S — Google review
Pros: -Fenced-in dog beach. -Waterpark. -Covered seating. -Family friendly. -Restrooms/Change rooms. -eCar charging stations(?). -Boat Launch. Cons: -The beach itself is more pebbles and goose poop than sand. -Busy Road on a blind turn. -Limited parking. -No water fountain(?). -Paltry dog area. -No Concessions. If you're looking for a simple "picnic" spot and have everything you need, it's adequate. If you require anything above and beyond that, you will likely prefer Sun-Oka Beach, which is a 5 minute drive south in Trout Creek.
J.R. P — Google review
Good place to go. Beach is rocky, but the water park and playground are nice. The dog park is a good size too. If you want good sand just go to the other beach.
Joel H — Google review
Perfect blend playground, waterpark, lake Beach there is about 3-5 feet of rock before you get to the mushy sand in the lake at this beach but it's a fab spot just the same. The waterpark is super close to the sand to kiddos can go back and forth. Playground and washrooms are well maintained.

Beach
Nestled along the shores of Okanagan Lake, Gordon Beggs Rotary Beach is a cherished gem in Summerland, British Columbia. This picturesque beach is part of the scenic Centennial Trail and offers stunning views framed by rocky bluffs. It's a vibrant spot where locals and tourists gather to enjoy various activities, from swimming in the clear waters on hot summer days to watching sailboats glide across the lake. The beach also features artisan stalls during the warmer months, adding a unique touch to your visit.
Great place to hang out in the sun. Walkway is open but be careful as repairs have not been complete since last years flooding.

Fantastic beach with a great pier to jump off of. Only gave 4 stars because of the bathroom/change room: there weren't any locks on the stalls of the toilets!!!

Beautiful day to kayak. Not many people at the beach. Lots of people playing tennis. Everyone doing a good job of phys. distancing! 🌞
K E — Google review
4/5 as there are better beaches, not because this one is bad. Good sandy beach with decent space, nice shade on the sand from some trees. No green space really and quite close to road (not busy). Good selection of new docks to play on and jump off. No playground, no dog park, yes washrooms.
Angus J — Google review
It was ok. Nice enough view, but there was duck feathers and feces everywhere. My nephews also found a dead fish.
B Q — Google review
This is our favorite beach in Summerland! We have our favorite spot on the beach between the F & I docks! The water is clear & going for a swim on days over 30C is just the best - what we moved here 20 summers ago for! All the afternoons spent with friends on this beach - so many great memories & so many more memories to be made there!
Where A — Google review
Old memories of a childhood long past, before the area was ever a designated park. It is good to see the preservation of a pier that was so essential to the origins of Lower Summerland, and Summerland later on. Also nice to note that not all lakeshore has fallen to development, leaving space for citizens and visitors to enjoy the waterfront.
Karen H — Google review
Great small sunny beach. It had a couple nice docks for jumping and diving from but the floods this year have taken them out. One of my favourite places to watch the sun come up.
