Nestled on the shores of Lake Como, Grand Hotel Tremezzo offers a luxurious retreat with a private beach, marina, and upscale dining options. This family-run hotel exudes old-world charm and hospitality, providing personalized service by a young and dynamic team. Guests can indulge in various experiences such as wine tasting, water sports, sailing tours, vintage car rentals, and more.
This is a beautiful lake hotel with absolutely stunning views of Lake Como and Bellagio that never get old. The property is impeccably maintained and you can tell they take pride in keeping everything in excellent condition. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and relaxing - you feel pampered without any stuffiness. The food throughout our stay was consistently good, whether at breakfast or dinner, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience. The setting is just magical - waking up to those lake views and being able to enjoy them throughout the day from various spots on the property. Everything about the place encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment. This is exactly what a luxury lake hotel should be - beautiful, comfortable, and memorable.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was wonderful (corner terrace suite), and service at the main restaurant and pool restaurant was good. I docked two stars because the service at the lobby outside bar was absolutely horrible. We experienced this two nights in a row, and then did not attempt to go back after that. Also the spa was great in terms of facilities, however we were not offered towels, robes, or a locker which we felt was very odd. Unfortunately overall the service was a miss for us. When paying this much for a hotel you want to feel like a valued guest.

An Unforgettable Experience at Grand Hotel Tremezzo Staying at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you arrive, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of timeless elegance and genuine warmth. The property itself is stunning—perched on the shores of Lake Como with breathtaking views—but what truly sets this hotel apart is its impeccable service. Every interaction with the staff reflects a level of attentiveness and professionalism that is rare to find. They anticipate your needs before you even articulate them, creating a seamless and personalized experience throughout your stay. Whether it’s arranging a private boat tour, recommending a hidden gem for dining, or simply greeting you with a smile that feels sincere, the team goes above and beyond in every possible way. The attention to detail is remarkable: from the beautifully curated rooms to the exquisite dining options and the immaculate grounds. It’s clear that the staff takes immense pride in ensuring every guest feels not just welcomed, but truly cared for. If you are looking for a destination that combines luxury, history, and world-class hospitality, Grand Hotel Tremezzo is in a league of its own. It’s not just a hotel stay—it’s an experience you will cherish forever.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a Suite as it was our honeymoon. The concierge team warmly welcomed us, and when we opened our room door, they had our wedding song playing, accompanied by champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, sweets, a framed picture of us, and hand-written notes. It was the most thoughtful gesture. The staff goes ABOVE and BEYOND every moment the stay and it is truly extraordinary. Every minute we spent at the hotel was heaven. The suite, view, amenities, pools, spa, gardens, etc were absolutely stunning, luxe, and we couldn't get enough. Everything was personalized and we felt extremely well cared for. We had an OUTSTANDING dinner (tip: get the risotto and beef wellington!) and the most incredible breakfast buffet we had ever seen. Our server, Diogo, blew us away with his elegance, knowledge and care - he made our dining experiences magical. We are so grateful to our travel advisor, Mo and the hotel team - we are counting the days down until we can come back to the GHT!!! N&S

We had an amazing time visiting Grand Hotel Tremezzo. We watched sunset from the bar and enjoyed delicious cocktails before heading to dinner at La Terazza. It was a very elegant experience. My husband and I shared the beef wellington which was perfect! The saffron risotto was also exceptional. We will be back!

An Unforgettable Stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo We just finished our stay at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and could not have been happier. Everything about this hotel is pure perfection — from the breathtaking views of Lake Como to the world-class service that makes you feel completely at home. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. The standout for us was Carolina at the front desk, who went above and beyond in every way. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful truly the embodiment of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo’s five-star experience. The property itself is stunning, classic elegance meets modern luxury. The pools, the gardens, the restaurants every detail feels curated and timeless. It’s one of those rare places where you can relax completely and still feel inspired by the surroundings. We’re already planning our return.

A bucket list location that lived up to the hype! Courteous staff that greets you by name throughout the property, unmatched views, and a consistent immersion in luxury & hospitality. The breakfast buffet is unparalleled and the bars & restaurants have enough options to feel content staying on property for the majority of the stay. We can’t wait to find a way back!

Our dining experience at the Restaurant was absolutely exceptional. The cuisine was refined and delicious, each dish prepared with great attention to detail. The service was impeccable — attentive, professional, yet warm and welcoming. The atmosphere, enhanced by the stunning interiors and beautiful view, created a truly memorable setting. Everything came together perfectly — from the ambiance to the culinary experience — making this restaurant a place we would gladly return to and highly recommend

Extended stay hotel
Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is a luxurious hotel located in Bellagio, Italy. The hotel offers elegant rooms and a range of upscale amenities including a spa, bars, and two restaurants. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's pools and access to a private beach on the lake. The property has an interesting history and is currently owned by the Rockefeller Foundation, serving as a creative retreat for artists, writers, and scientists.
Our stay at this magnificent villa on Lake Como was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the impeccable service and the dedication of the entire staff. The interiors are absolutely stunning — refined, elegant, and perfectly in line with the timeless charm of the villa. The restaurant deserves special mention: the cuisine was exquisite, every dish a delight, and the cocktail menu in the bar was both creative and sophisticated. We were also touched by the thoughtful birthday celebration, which made our experience even more memorable. The service was flawless throughout the day. The waiters, dressed in white stockings and bow ties from morning until evening, brought an exceptional sense of refinement and harmony that perfectly matched the villa’s interiors and atmosphere. If there was one slight disappointment, it was the attitude of some fellow guests. Unfortunately, many did not follow the dress code recommendations that had been clearly communicated at the time of booking. It was a shame, as this lack of consideration diminished the otherwise consistent sense of elegance and exclusivity of the place. Overall, however, our experience at this villa was absolutely outstanding — a true example of luxury hospitality at the highest level.
Marina N — Google review
I had such high expectations staying at Villa Serbelloni, but unfortunately the experience was very underwhelming. The one thing that is truly outstanding is the location, it is absolutely beautiful and cannot be faulted. However, for a five-star property, the service and staff experience fell far short. Coming from a five-star hotel in Switzerland just before this stay, the contrast was stark. At Villa Serbelloni, there was no real sense of welcome or warmth, often no greeting, no effort to make you feel special. For example, when sitting by the pool, not even being offered complimentary water when towels are handed out felt surprising and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this level. The staff were not rude, but they were also far from attentive, polished, or genuinely welcoming. And that’s what makes the difference between a hotel simply having five-star facilities versus delivering a true five-star experience. I had been looking forward to this as one of the highlights of our European trip, but sadly it ended up being one of the most disappointing. If what you want from a five-star stay is to feel valued, wowed, and taken care of, this is not the place.

We had an amazing two-day stay at Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni for our honeymoon, and it was truly unforgettable! ❤️ Everything was perfect — the warm hospitality, the breathtaking lake view, and the elegant atmosphere. The hotel beautifully combines classic charm with modern comfort, making it a magical and romantic experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional stay in Lake Como! ✨

Villa Serbelloni, Lake Como : A Timeless Haven of Luxury Perched gracefully on the shores of Lake Como, Villa Serbelloni epitomizes refined luxury and old-world grandeur. From the moment of arrival, guests are enveloped in an atmosphere of regal elegance, where history and modern comfort coexist in perfect harmony. The interiors exude sophistication, with each space meticulously designed to reflect both heritage and contemporary style. My suite offered the utmost comfort, enhanced by modern amenities and breathtaking views that seemed to merge seamlessly with the lake beyond. Service at Villa Serbelloni is exemplary , attentive yet discreet. Every member of the staff demonstrates genuine warmth and professionalism, ensuring that each guest feels not only welcomed but truly cared for. The breakfast experience deserves special mention: an exquisite array of delicacies enjoyed in a sunlit setting that overlooks the shimmering waters of Lake Como. It felt less like a meal and more like a dream. The views from the property are simply incomparable a living painting of deep blue water framed by majestic mountains. Each moment spent gazing across the lake felt serene and unforgettable. Villa Serbelloni is more than a hotel; it is an experience of timeless beauty and unparalleled luxury. For those seeking the pinnacle of elegance on Lake Como, this magnificent retreat is beyond compare.

My wife and I recently completed a five-night stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni as part of our honeymoon and could not be happier with the experience. The property is stunning, pictures and descriptions simply do not do it justice, and the staff could not have been kinder or more attentive. While Bellagio itself can feel crowded with visitors during the day, the hotel is a serene oasis, allowing guests to enjoy the town at its best in the calm of the mornings and evenings. Our stay was flawless, and we are already looking forward to returning.

By far the best hotel in Bellagio. From the Michelin-starred Mistral restaurant to the elegant rooms, private beach club, and even the famous diving board, every detail is exceptional. The privacy of the property makes it feel truly exclusive, as only guests can enter past the gate. Service was outstanding — Claudio and Luca were especially memorable, and the young gentleman (Claudio’s friend) at Mistral made our dining experience even more special. An unforgettable stay.
Julian S — Google review
We had an amazing time at this hotel. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and the hotel provided some special touches for the occasion. The lake view rooms are breathtaking, the location stunning and eating in the Mistral restaurant on site is a must. This hotel is spectacular and the staff and service was impeccable. Thank you for making our stay so special

The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni: Redefining hospitality and comfort As a hotel with 5 stars, it shouldn’t surprise you that the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is known for its high quality dining, pool and lakeside amenities, and beautiful estate. But the reason this hotel is number one on our list in every category is the people who elevate your experience day in and day out. Over the two weeks our family stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa, the high standard set and met by the dedicated and hard working staff was prevalent each and every day. From the concierge, to the waiters, to the pool staff, to the cleaners, the kindness and commitment of this staff team to create a comfortable and welcoming environment made our experience a 10/10. We became especially close with and Annabel, Giuseppe, Samuele, Anna, Emilio, and Oumo, whose hospitality and service made our days on the lake unforgettable. Whether it’s food, facilities, or people, this hotel gets all high marks. Thank you to the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni staff for the lifelong memories.

Nestled in the charming town of Bellagio, overlooking Lake Como's Bay of Pescallo with the stunning Alps as a backdrop, Hotel Belvedere is a historic retreat that has been owned by the same family for five generations. The hotel offers elegant accommodations with panoramic lake views and a newly renovated spa featuring Turkish baths, therapeutic showers, sauna, and relaxation lounge.
My wife and I celebrated her 50th birthday at this hotel. I can’t say enough about what a beautiful hotel this is and especially how accommodating the staff is at Hotel Belvedere. We got the private garden lake view room. The room was spacious and even had a walk in closet. The view was amazing. The staff went above and beyond and beyond to be accommodating and even went as far to offer to change our tire on our rental when we had a blow out. There wasn’t a spare tire to they reached out to make all the arrangements to have our car towed back to the rental agency and have a private transfer arranged for us to take us back to Milan at the end of our trip. Great staff, great location, great property and great service. We will be back for sure.

This hotel could have been more perfectly located!! Less than a 10 minute walk to Bellagio and in a very quiet area. Stunning views from the hotel towards Lake Como, that made the stay 100x worth it. Super friendly staff and the breakfast is great!! Our room was quite small though but we made it work (we spend most of our time by the pool and spa anyways). The SPA and the Pool were perfect, highly recommend spending time there.
Rafael Z — Google review
We chose Hotel Belvedere for our honeymoon, expecting a luxury experience — and unfortunately, it turned into a major disappointment. At nearly $1,000 per night, the standard should be flawless. Instead, the hotel’s most appealing amenity — the outdoor jacuzzi overlooking Lake Como — was completely unusable. In temperatures in the 50s and 60s, guests (ourselves included) repeatedly tried to enjoy it, only to find the water cold. Couple after couple gave up. When we asked, the staff could only say it was “because it had been raining.” That explanation is absurd — jacuzzis operate in places far colder and wetter than Lake Como (Alaska, anyone?). The truth is obvious: the heater has not been functioning for some time, and management has failed to repair it. To be absolutely clear: the staff themselves were wonderful — kind, professional, and clearly embarrassed by the situation. This is not on them. The failure is 100% on ownership and management, who are collecting premium rates while ignoring broken amenities. We invested in this hotel for our honeymoon, a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and were left with frustration instead of luxury. Until management takes responsibility and fixes basic amenities, the Hotel Belvedere cannot be considered a true luxury property.
Manny D — Google review
This hotel was simply beautiful and modern with the best service staff and delectable breakfast brunch. Whatever we needed the staff was there to help us with whether it was temperature or transport or reservations. They welcomed us home with open arms and always were so kind and courteous to us. I would HIGHLY recommend you stay here -5 minute walk into town and nice to be away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to access when you want. The shuttle was awesome too when you don’t feel like walking. Bellagio was also the best town in which to stay and town was very vibrant . We loved hotel Belvedere and hope you do too!!!
Namratha R — Google review
This hotel exceeded my expectations! Location is great, the views are spectacular. But the biggest gem of the hotel is the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. They booked our rides, spa, they gave us travel tips and just in general they made us feel so welcome. The spa at the hotel is absolutely amazing as well. I would love to be back one day.

One of Our Top Hotel Stays in Italy! This hotel easily ranked in our top two during our four weeks in Italy. From the start, the welcome drink was creative, refreshing, and set a perfect tone for our stay. The gym was well-equipped, and both lunch and breakfast were truly fabulous — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We were there during very warm temps and the pool was a lifesaver — kept cool and incredibly inviting. Located on the eastern side of Bellagio, the hotel offered a peaceful retreat away from the tourist crowds, which we really appreciated. A perfect balance of relaxation, comfort, and thoughtful hospitality.
Charles G — Google review
My wife and I had an amazing 4-night stay at the beautiful and conveniently located Hotel Belvedere. We stayed in the tower suite our first 2 nights (INCREDIBLE room and views) and the annex building our final 2 nights. We read some reviews before our trip suggesting the annex building was inconvenient but we thought it was great (as long as you don’t mind walking up stairs). The hotel staff was nice and accommodating. The restaurant was truly 5 stars. We liked it so much we had dinner there twice. The food was phenomenal and the staff was equally as good. One of the best dinner experiences I’ve ever had. We also loved the pool area and spa which was super relaxing and clean with beautiful views. I would recommend Hotel Belvedere to anyone looking for a luxury experience on Lake Como.
Justen F — Google review
This is one of our favorite hotels that we’ve ever stayed in. The location is perfect, walkable to the main part of town but still a little set away from the really busy areas. The pool area is amazing and we spent most of our afternoons at the pool after exploring in the morning. And the service was top notch. Better than any US luxury hotels. We were sad to leave and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lake Como.

Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Como, Passalacqua is a historic private villa that has been transformed into one of the region's most stunning hotels since its unveiling in 2022. Originally built in 1787, this elegant retreat boasts an impressive size and exquisite attention to detail, featuring hand-blown Murano chandeliers and suites adorned with original frescoes. Each of its 24 luxurious suites pays homage to Bellini heroines, reflecting classical elegance and Italian craftsmanship.
A truly unforgettable stay. We got engaged at Passalacqua, on their Riva, and couldn’t have chosen a more magical place. The room was breathtaking, the service flawless, and every detail was thought-out — from the hand-picked decor to the warm, intuitive hospitality. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable

An outstanding place. Probably one of the nicest hotel we have stayed in. Location is stunning. Garden, buildings are beautiful. Room is perfect. All details are just amazing. Spa is fabulous. We had really fantastic treatments. Service is top notch. Absolutely fantastic hotel.

I will forever treasure the days I spent at Passalacqua. A place of timeless beauty, charm and elegance leaving you with memories that last a lifetime. The villa itself is enchanting, but what makes it unforgettable are the people and the moments they create. Every morning began with a breakfast experience that felt luxurious, and our wedding dinner was nothing short of extraordinary—a feast that family and friends spoke about constantly in the days afterwardss. Housekeeping and room service went beyond care; they reflected thoughtfulness in the smallest of details. The service staff are of the highest standard—poised, impeccably dressed, and trained to a standard that rivals the finest three-Michelin-star establishments. Yet beyond their professionalism lies genuine warmth: each member of the Passalacqua family made us feel not just welcome, but truly at home. A big thank you to Gregory, Claudia, Carla, Martina, Alberto, Carlotta, Nicolas, Cristina, Chef Viviana, and every member of the Passalacqua family that exemplify the artistry of hospitality. Passalacqua, despite what others may say, is the number one hotel in the world—not just for its beauty, but for the heart behind it. I cannot wait to return, especially to celebrate our anniversary in a place that now feels like part of our story.
Nathan — Google review
Less than an hour’s drive from Milan, Passalacqua is a truly exclusive property above Lake Como. Every view feels like a postcard with the spectacular scenery of Lake Como combined with Passalaqua’s immaculate gardens and landscape. The overall atmosphere here just radiates peace and beauty. The level of detail and devotion to decoration is dazzling; Carrara marble, chandeliers, antiques and paintings. Touches like the in-house florist who gathers blooms daily from the gardens for guests really make Passalaqua feel like a very special place. ROOMS: We stayed in Casa al Lago, a private villa with four rooms. It offers an indoor lounge, a covered terrace, outdoor dining, and our room had its own private garden. There is a separate reception and kitchen located in Casa al Lago. You can enjoy breakfast right outside your room instead of the main restaurant. The room itself was luxurious in every sense. The bed linens might be the best of any hotel we’ve stayed at. The bathroom had three Dyson products (hair dryer, flat iron, and Airwrap). There is a complimentary fully stocked minibar and each night, housekeeping surprised us with thoughtful treats. DINING: The food was easily among the best we’ve enjoyed across multiple trips to Italy. Breakfast is available a la carte accompanied by an impressive breakfast buffet spilling across two rooms, an open kitchen and a welcome stand of fresh pastries. SERVICE throughout the property is excellent, attentive, professional, and polished. While it’s not as personalized as some other ultra-luxury hotels (where staff might remember your name or your personal preferences or you have a single point of contact during your stay), the Passalaqua staff still manage to make you feel valued and important. The overall experience is warm and gracious without being over the top. GYM is set in a restored greenhouse with indoor and outdoor equipment and panoramic views of Lake Como. The indoor space is small but functional to accommodate the 24 rooms at Passalaqua.

My husband and I booked a trip to Lake Como to celebrate our 6th anniversary, and it truly exceeded every expectation. It’s no wonder it was awarded the best hotel in the world. I came to Passalacqua for a romantic weekend with my husband. It is truly a masterpiece of hospitality. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the extraordinary attention to detail and the genuine care that has gone into every corner of this remarkable place. The property itself is breathtaking — the gardens are among the most beautiful I have ever seen, perfectly manicured yet full of soul and character. What truly sets Pasalacqua apart, however, is the staff. Their warmth, professionalism, and intuition elevate the entire experience to something beyond expectation. Every interaction feels personal, thoughtful, and sincere — a rare quality that transforms a stay into a memory. We loved the mixology masterclass!! The cocktail master Andrea was amazing. This hotel is renowned for good reason, it is a gem in Italy that deserves not only to be discovered, but truly lived.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Como, Filario Hotel & Residences is a stylish and modern boutique hotel offering a luxurious retreat for travelers. The property boasts minimalist architecture and organic aesthetics, providing guests with a serene and comfortable environment to unwind while enjoying breathtaking views. With an infinity pool overlooking the lake, private balconies, and a quality restaurant serving local and international cuisine, this hotel prioritizes privacy and personalized experiences for each guest.
This is a great hotel and you can book a room in the residence which is treated like a hotel room, just no room service, but all other services are provided. They have a private beach with various water activities (paddle board, kayak, floats) as well as a beach bar and restaurant and the hotel as another more formal restaurant. Staff are amazing and will help you book reservations - everything can mostly be done over Whatsapp. There is parking at 20 euros per night. The town center is also not far with restaurants and grocery stores. Highly recommend staying here.

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 college students) stayed here in July and it exceeded our expectations! The apartment was perfect for us to all stay together. The staff was exceptional. I don't want to call out any one particular person because truly, they were all so very helpful and pleasant. They helped us book car transportation, a private boat tour, and meal reservations. The pizza here at the hotel restaurant is some of the best we had in Italy. And the location is perfect. The hotel and town of Lezzeno is quiet and just a short easy bus ferry or bus ride to Bellagio. (We recommend learning to use the bus as it stops right in front of the hotel.) We're so happy and so thankful we stayed at the Filario Hotel!

This hotel is set in a very spectacular location right on the lake. There is markets within a kilometer in each direction but the hours for those markets vary so be careful. Also the walk there is on a very narrow road with very fast drivers. As for the hotel, the room was spectacular from one of their apartments. The one thing that would make this a five-star hotel is giving you robes to go with the slippers they give you. It would be so nice to sit out on your terrace overlooking the water in a robe, or even to walk down to the beach or the pool in it. The pool is beautiful the way it's set right on the lake. The beach is all rocks but that's typical around here. They have a garage for your rental car but the stalls are very small.

Stayed two nights in the residences. Except for the view, everything else is not worth the value for money you get. - Design hotel? There is no design in the residences. Furniture is very cheap. - Breakfast personnel: some were rude and didn’t want to fill the buffet 30 min before breakfast ends additional 8 euros for eggswould not be a problem when you pay for an old, furnished, dirty apartment over 350 euros per night. - Rooms were not clean. - Gym without window, very small and bad smells. - The value for money for 350 euros per night in October, where you cannot use the private beach, is not worth it at all. - I’ve stayed in at least 300 hotels, this was by far the worst value for money.

+ Nice view and location. - Value for money (for an omelette you need to pay extra 8€ I repeat 8 € 😂) even if breakfast is included but eggs any eggs you want cost 8€ Couch is cheap and old it makes noise sitting on it The furniture is broken Tv small and cable are visible The gym is tiny Did expect a design luxury hotel, but it is not, especially not with 500€ per night. I expect much more at least a variety of eggs with no extra charge. The Buffet at breakfast is not refilled regularly, if you come 30 min before it officially ends half is missing and the scrambled eggs are cold or empty. No proactive asking for a second coffee.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Filario! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side that week—unusually stormy for September—which impacted much of the lakeside area. Despite the torrential rains, Camilla and the team went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and still able to enjoy our trip. They kept us updated on ferry schedules and arranged alternative rides when needed, which made a huge difference. While we couldn’t take advantage of the beachside amenities due to the weather, the rest of our stay was wonderful. The town has some incredible restaurants, and we met several locals who were so warm and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to coming back—hopefully under sunnier skies next time!

Highly recommend Filario Hotel if you're looking for a memorable, peaceful, and authentic Lake Como experience with very few tourists around. Lezzeno is a lovely and quiet small town that is only 15 minutes bus ride from Bellagio. We were generously upgraded to the Junior Suite: a huge room with a private patio, cabana, and pool and priceless view of the lake. The room itself is very modern, clean, and luxurious. Pros: - Direct access to the lake, including lounge chairs and cabanas. - Delicious breakfast buffet - Hotel provides useful guides for restaurants, public transportation, and activities. - Staff were incredibly helpful in helping us navigate the public transportation schedule, giving a tour of the grounds, helping us book a taxi to Como, and adjusting the temperature of our room - Water bottles are provided - Bikes and kayaks are free for 1 hour (though we did not use this) - Lezzeno has a ferry terminal and a few bus stops so it's somewhat accessible with public transport but you do need to plan ahead Cons: - The restaurant at Filario Hotel is fine dining so it's very pricey - Lezzeno has a few restaurants but most are in the downtown area. The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the downtown area but there is no sidewalk for parts of the walk so you have to be careful - In the fall, public transport stops running to Lezzeno end at 8 PM so we ate most dinners in Lezzeno itself. Not complaining since the restaurants are very good but it does restrict your schedule.

We recently stayed at Filario Hotel and loved its beautiful design and perfect location. However, several issues affected our experience, especially given the high nightly rate: Flying insects in the room, which was unpleasant and unexpected at this level. Insufficient lighting for basic tasks like applying makeup. The bathroom ventilation system was not working, so it couldn’t remove moisture properly. The balcony light is automatic and shuts off at night with no way to turn it on manually, making it difficult to enjoy the balcony in the evening. Filario has great potential due to its design and location, but improvements in room maintenance and comfort are needed to justify the premium price.

Villa d'Este is a luxurious lakeside hotel that dates back to the 16th century. Originally commissioned by Cardinal Ptolemy Gallio, it was designed by architect Pellegrino Tibaldi and was once a female convent. Over the centuries, it passed through the hands of noble families and even housed a dancer from La Scala. In 1873, it was transformed into a luxury hotel and became a popular destination for the glamorous jet set.
Excellence. This hotel and the stay here was my best hotel experience ever. The general vibe and feeling of the hotel is superior. The room was big and welcoming. The view from the room was not the best - but nevertheless it was clean, true to its style and had an exquisite bathroom and bed. The dinner at the Grill restaurant was amazing and the wine list inspired a truly unforgettable night. The piano bar with joyful music and a mingle between all the guests was simply amazing - and added to that «old money»-vibe in a beautiful manner. The surroundings are also astonishing and provides the very best atmosphere and enjoyment you can find. All of these amenities and beautiful surrounding would, however, not be as meaningful if it weren’t for the excellent staff and their attention to detail and ability to adapt to the guests. I find the ability to adapt to the guests as the most important thing and at that this was world class. We were a group of four friends which had an incredible and extremely successful experience with Villa d’Este. Keep doing what you are doing - I will be back.

We stayed here during our honeymoon for three nights. The service was excellent, the concierge was very helpful with setting up taxis. My husband loved their coffee, and enjoyed sitting outside near the lake during the afternoons. We loved their Sundeck during the day, the pasta and club sandwich were delicious! We also liked the hotel's breakfast. We did have dinner at the Grill and the Veranda, and while we enjoyed our meals, our options were limited since we do not eat seafood. We did use their laundry service and there were no issues. I really appreciated the hot water for my shower or bath. Our room had a great view of the lake, and we will miss waking up to it.

Villa d’Este Dreamlike Escape on Lake Como – Perfection in Every Detail From the moment we arrived at this breathtaking Lake Como hotel, we knew we were somewhere extraordinary. The hotel’s setting is nothing short of cinematic—nestled between lush green hills and the shimmering waters of the lake, every view feels like a postcard brought to life. The staff welcomed us as if we were lifelong friends, offering warm smiles while our luggage magically disappeared to our suite. The attention to detail was impeccable—fresh flowers in the room with personalized welcome notes. Our suite was a masterpiece of design: soaring windows framing a magic garden, a marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub that felt like a spa on its own. The bed was the kind of cloud you never want to leave. Breakfast by the Lake featured just-baked pastries and cappuccinos so perfect they could ruin all others for you. The floating pool overlooking the lake was pure serenity. Even small touches, like the live piano music created an atmosphere of timeless elegance.

Went for dinner to the Grill. Service was exceptional and so was the food. We loved the olive oil and balsamic so much that we bought the pair to take home. We got a glass of wine, an appetizer, 3 entrees, a dessert. Total bill for everything was 530 euros - perfect for a special occasion or a treat! The hotel and the grounds are stunning - hoping we can stay there one day!

From the moment you arrive you know you’ve been transported to someplace special. Villa d’Este is pure luxury at its finest. The grounds are immaculate. Worthy of every photo on social media platforms. Photos alone do not represent the true beauty of the hotel. The grounds, the lobby, the floating pool, the restaurants, and the residences are visually stunning. Oh, the view of Lake Como. Every photo you take is postcard deserving. The entire staff was professional, warm, friendly, and genuine. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best possible. Special thank you to Roberto. Our suite was a Junior Suite Lake View. Spacious and well appointed in the Cardinal’s Building. We had a corner suite overlooking both Lake Como and the hotel’s grounds. The hotel refers to them as residences, we never felt more at home. Our dinner at Veranda was a taste of elegance. Delectable with every savory bite. Overlooking the immaculate gardens and Lake Como. The views are breathtaking. A truly magnificent dining experience. Our stay was exemplary! One has to experience the pinnacle of endless hospitality and true beauty. A must stay. We look forward to our return.

Villa d’Este isn’t just a hotel; it’s an unforgettable escape. This historic 5-star hotel, nestled in lush gardens overlooking the shimmering lake, feels like stepping into a gilded era of Italian elegance. If you’re seeking opulence, serenity, and service that feels like family, book it—you won’t regret it. Highly recommend for couples or anyone craving timeless Italian glamour.

Beautiful hotel and grounds but what sets this hotel apart is the exquisite service provided by the whole team- from the lovely driver who picked us up from the airport all the way through to the fabulous breakfast staff, bar staff, housekeeping, reception and concierge. Every single staff person we encountered went above and beyond to make sure we felt well cared for . Truly some of the BEST!!

The care taken in cleaning the windows in the lake-view room is a good representation of the overall experience, unfortunately the small details simply fail to deliver making what could be an amazing experience fall short. Window cleaning is just a representation of a bunch of small details that each in its own is not dramatic but that adds up and does not meet expectations… Nice hotel and staff but quality simply does not match the pricetag.

The Grand Hotel Victoria concept & spa, by R Collection Hotels, is a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel located in Menaggio on the shores of Lake Como. Housed in an elegant late 19th-century mansion with Liberty Neoclassic style, the hotel has been meticulously restored and offers enchanting gardens and breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. The Art-Nouveau design and elegant furnishings exude charm and sophistication, complemented by indoor and outdoor pools for relaxation.
We stayed at Hotel Grand Victoria for a few nights during our Lake Como trip and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is in a perfect location, right by the lake and close to shops, restaurants, and the ferry. Our room was beautiful and very spacious, with a large balcony overlooking the pool. We really enjoyed sitting out there and relaxing. The room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and everything felt elegant and well taken care of. Most of the staff were warm and helpful. The front desk and concierge were especially great, offering helpful recommendations and making us feel welcome. Breakfast on the terrace was another highlight, with plenty of fresh options and a view that was truly stunning. The only issue we had was with the service in the dining area. While the server was polite, communication was very limited. Responses were often just “yes” with no explanation, even when we asked a question. It made things a little confusing and felt a bit impersonal compared to the rest of the experience. That said, everything else was lovely. The hotel is peaceful, stylish, and a great place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Como. We would definitely come back.
Sid G — Google review
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Victoria in July 2025. The hotel was renovated recently, and they spared no expense. Our room had a mountain, pool, and lake view. It was modest in size, but not small and very clean and well appointed. The spa is fantastic with incredible steam rooms, a large pool, different saunas, showers, cold room and cold immersion areas. It's a massive spa area that you can use even without booking spa services. I had a wonderful deep tissue massage, so don't skip it if you like a relaxing massage or facial. The outdoor pool is beautiful and we had no issue getting a bed or chairs each day. The restaurant is phenomenal, with excellent food and service and indoor and outdoor seating all with a view of Lake Como. In fact it was one of the better dining experiences we had in Italy. The service is incredible across the board. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, especially if you want

Absolutely fabulous place! The staff was amazing and went above and beyond. Room was spacious with two bathrooms and a terrace, plus some lovely treats left in our room on a daily basis. Breakfast was so delicious and abundant - fresh juice and fruits, hot buffet, cheeses, meats and breads. And the view! Stunning. I didn’t want to leave!

The staff truly made our stay exceptional. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine sense of hospitality were evident at every moment, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. A special mention goes to Mrs Speziale, who graciously upgraded us to a room with a better view as soon as it became available during our stay, a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. The concierge team was also outstanding, managing to secure tables in fully booked restaurants and arranging a driver for us even at the very last minute. The spa was another highlight: impressively spacious and perfectly designed for complete relaxation. We also loved the various areas dedicated to rest and leisure, including the swimming pool and the beach club. Everything seems carefully planned to ensure that guests can fully enjoy themselves, even over several days. Breakfast was remarkable, generous, varied, and delicious. Fresh watermelon juice, chocolate fondants, focaccia, and many other options made every morning a real pleasure. The only minor drawback was the payment policy: the room had to be prepaid by card over the phone to confirm the booking, unlike other hotels where paying on-site is possible. Still, this small inconvenience was far outweighed by the overall quality of the service and the thoughtful touches that made our stay so enjoyable.

Where do I start? Grand Hotel Victoria, you have made a lasting impression on our hearts. Everything from the food, the cleanliness, the architecture, the attention to detail…. But most of all, the people. The staff at GVH is unlike any other. A HUGE thank you to Martina and Luca (with the mustache 😉) for always being so gracious and helpful. Thank you as well to Lorena and Marco - phenomenal and thoughtful management team. Thank you to everyone who helped make our honeymoon stay so special - we will never forget it!

Amazing! We loved the attention to detail here, especially in the service. We were greeted at our transportation by one of the concierge who welcomed us and escorted us to check-in. We were offered complimentary drinks at check-in and escorted to the room by the wonderful staff. Everything was impeccable here, from the comfort of the room, to the view, to the drinks on the lawn overlooking the Beauty of Lake Como. The price tag is high, but 100% worth it!!

Amazing experience and luxury hotel - starting from lobby, room, spa and beach club. Everyone there was so helpful and yes for everything we ask during our stay. I should mention Lorena was amazing and always was there for help with her team and she is in particular made our stay unique and enjoyable.

Not sure how people give this anything other than 5 stars. Fantastic rooms, services, and amenities. They’ll take care of anything and everything for you. The restaurants and additional services are a bit overpriced for what they actually offer, but the base breakfast is fantastic and the spa area is quite nice. Great location off to the side of the main menaggio square.

Il Sereno Hotel is a contemporary lakeside retreat located in Torno, offering a blend of sleek design and tranquil surroundings amidst the historic Neoclassical villas of Lake Como. The hotel features an infinity pool that extends to the edge of the lake, a spa housed in a century-old boathouse, and luxurious suites with modern amenities. Guests can indulge in quality dining options offering both local and international cuisine while enjoying stunning views from private balconies.
A masterpiece of modern tranquility on the edge of Lake Como. Our stay at Il Sereno was nothing short of extraordinary. The architecture, the views, and the atmosphere are unlike anything else on the lake — minimalist, refined, and deeply serene. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into a curated dream. A very special thank you to Georgios, whose warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly elevated our experience. He ensured every part of our stay — from property exploration to our day-to-day plans — was executed smoothly and always right on time. His genuine hospitality and deep knowledge of the property made us feel at ease and completely taken care of. Il Sereno is more than a hotel — it’s an experience in design, peace, and precision. We’ll return in a heartbeat.
Hasan M — Google review
Overall, our stay was wonderful—the property is stunning, the views are breathtaking, and the service was generally very good. Don’t get me wrong—my lower rating is not because the hotel lacks cleanliness or beauty. However, when you’re paying a premium to stay at a property of this caliber, your expectations naturally rise to meet that level. Unfortunately, the housekeeping fell short of those expectations. On two consecutive days, the bed linens had visible stains, and on one occasion, there appeared to be a bloodstain. This was not only disappointing but also unsettling, and it genuinely impacted the overall experience. For a hotel of this standard, such lapses simply shouldn’t happen. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and leads to improvements, as the hotel has so much potential to deliver a truly flawless experience.

We travel a lot for work and pleasure, and I can confidently say it is one of our favorite hotels in the world! From the moment you step onto the property you receive the most thoughtful, attentive yet not overbearing service. We enjoyed the pool and restaurant (had both lunch and dinner!) and enjoyed the walk to the town to take the ferry around the lake. We enjoyed breakfast in our room both days (included in our Amex booking) overlooking the stunning view. The hotel’s secluded but accessible location and modern design make it a must visit. We will absolutely be back!

Stayed for 4 nights - wish I could say I loved it as much as so many others appear to, but sadly not. Save for the bedroom, the rest of the room lacked windows and didn't feel particularly pleasant - just stark and bare. Rest of the hotel was nice, but not of the calibre of somewhere like Reschio in Umbria. General sentiment "it's okay" - but wouldn't rush back
Ross B — Google review
The hotel offers a wonderful view, and the rooms are spacious with good features. However, the outdoor spa and swimming pool can be a drawback in cold or rainy weather. On the plus side, the spa is private, allowing you to reserve it for yourself for an hour. Unfortunately, the hotel lacks a hair salon, which would be a valuable amenity given its distance from the city. While the food tastes good, the portions are somewhat small.
Sumaia A — Google review
Stayed 6 nights at Il Sereno, beautiful rooms and good service. The food menu and presentation were nice, but the food lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the robes and towels were often not clean, and even after I reported it twice, they still arrived dirty. I also had a massage the therapist was excellent, but the massage bed was poor quality and noisy, making it hard to relax.
H A — Google review
Had a wonderful experience having dinner here at Il Sereno. Roberto and Chiara were excellent servers in explaining each dish, and we had a lot of fun with them! We also had a lot of fun on the balcony ordering drinks and a cigar with the bartender upstairs. Fantastic experience, would love to stay here someday!

From the moment I arrived at Il Sereno, I knew I was somewhere extraordinary. The view of Lake Como from my suite was as impressive. Every detail of my stay felt intentional and seamless. The staff struck that perfect balance of warmth and discretion, always one step ahead without ever intruding. Everything invited me to slow down and simply be. Il Sereno didn’t just meet expectations; it gave me a sense of peace I didn’t know I needed. Coming back as soon as possible!

Nestled near the ferry terminal of Como, VISTA Palazzo Lago di Como is a contemporary hotel offering stunning views of Lake Como. The stylish rooms and suites feature private balconies with picturesque lake scenes. Guests can savor international and Italian cuisine at the on-site restaurant and enjoy cocktails on the terrace. The hotel's modern decor complements the region's culture, with meticulously designed guestrooms boasting hardwood floors, elegant rugs, and artistic touches.
From the moment we arrived, the team at VISTA Palazzo Lago di Como went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We were greeted with a beautifully decorated room — complete with rose petals, orchids, and a birthday surprise for my fiancée — that immediately set the tone for a truly personalized and luxurious experience. The highlight of our stay was dinner at Sottovoce, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant. They arranged a stunning outdoor table overlooking Lake Como just in time for sunset. Watching the golden light dance on the water while sipping champagne was nothing short of magical. The chef’s surprise pairing menu was absolutely incredible — each course was thoughtfully presented and full of flavor. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Every detail — from the service to the ambiance to the food — was handled with care and elegance. This wasn’t just a hotel stay, it was a curated experience we’ll never forget. Thank you to the entire VISTA team for creating such a special memory for us

Great service and location for a lake Como experience and view. Couldn't be happier with the breakfast buffet, views and friendly staff. The rooms were great, my only complaint would be the noise level. It's very loud by the elevator and not well insulated but most nights were quiet while we were there, I'm only mentioning it if you have trouble sleeping g with any kind of noise at night. We will definitely be back to this property in the future!

We stayed at Vista for 5 nights it was lovely the staff were amazing and our room was as nice as hotel room we ever had a corner suite lake view. But I think the cherry on top was Alberto head concierge, he was so friendly and knowledgeable, organised us a few trips out including a private boat tour of Lake Como with drinks in Bellagio and Dinner at a lovely restaurant, taxi back to vista, was wonderful. Town with lots of bars restaurants easy walking distance into Como. The restaurant bar area are small but adequate on the top floor with roof top area looking over the lake. Would definitely go again. If you go, have a day in Lugano Switzerland 35 minutes on the train.

We were here to burn a few Hilton points, in general we liked our stay. The room has a relaxing and upscale atmosphere and has good amount of luxury details. we also appreciated the hospitality and friendliness from the staffs. One thing disappointed us is the seafood restaurant recommended by the hotel staff, Lo Storico. It was referred to as a good local non-touristy restaurant, but it was a total tourist trap. Perhaps your recommendations should be updated.

Title: A Rare Gem in the Heart of Lake Como – Beyond Exceptional From the moment we arrived at Vista Lago di Como, we knew we were in for something special—but it still managed to exceed every expectation. This boutique hotel (just 19 rooms!) redefines personalized service. Every staff member not only greeted us by name, but with genuine warmth and attention that made us feel instantly at home. The service was so seamless and thoughtful it felt almost intuitive. Our room was spacious, immaculate, and beautifully designed. You could tell this was new construction—everything felt pristine, elegant, and considered. Even the turn-down service was impeccable. And yes, the scent piped into the common areas? Spot on. Luxurious without being overbearing. The location is unbeatable—right in Como, yet peaceful. But the real surprise? The restaurant. We’ve traveled the world and dined at some of the most acclaimed places, but this may have been the best meal we’ve ever had. Bold flavors, inventive dishes, perfect execution. This is not just a hotel—it’s an experience. One that leaves you wanting to return the moment you leave. 10 out of 10. Easily.

Overpriced hotel with not much things to do or enjoy. Came to lake Como for two days. Due to sold out at Villa D'este, we decided to come here after spending at one night at D'este. We are quite shock how small this hotel once arrive especially we just came from D'este. There isn't much u can do here with since the hotel is so small. There is one restaurant there where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast was not up to standard to what they are charging. I paid around 1500 euro for a night which was same as what I paid for Hotel D'sete. I think it will be fair if is at the 600-700 euro range. We thought it would provide similarly facility with D'este at this price range but is way far from it, I should have done some research before. The location is on right on the street which is convenient to the shopping, but uou will also get a of noise from the street.

AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in August. Everything about this hotel was spectacular from the moment you drive down their windy driveway to the welcome lobby which boasts incredible high ceilings with stunning views of the lake. I also can’t forget the glass of champagne offered at check in. We got there early and they let us use the spa area to change and hangout at the pool, I think it’s the best pool on the Lake. Our room was breath taking, they said they upgraded us based on availability which I thought was so kind of them. I can’t thank The Mandarin Oriental enough for such a memorable experience. The restaurants are all amazing, and the spa is so relaxing. Such a great experience there. I can’t say enough good things about the team working at the hotel. They truly went above and beyond. Hotel Villa Flori is a refined and luxurious 4-star hotel located between Como and Cernobbio. Housed in a 19th-century villa, the hotel offers a sophisticated restaurant, cocktail lounge, spa, and gym. The lobby boasts stunning views of Lake Como, the cathedral, and the Volta Lighthouse through huge windows. The original stuccoes, floral frescoes, and wooden floors have been preserved to maintain the old-school Italian glamour.
We stayed at the Hotel Villa Flori, and from the moment I saw the sign, it took my breath away. The style, the elegance, and the unmistakable Italian spirit were present in every corner. I fell in love with every single detail and the rich history of this beautiful location. The hotel’s position right on Lake Como is simply magnificent — waking up to that view is unforgettable. The food and drinks were exceptional, perfectly complementing the magical setting. The staff truly made our stay special. A heartfelt thank you to Mattia Pizzagalli and Katerina, who were fantastic from start to finish. They showed us every charming corner of the villa and were incredibly knowledgeable about all the attractions around the lake. From boat rides to seaplane tours and restaurant bookings, they arranged everything with care and professionalism. Hotel Villa Flori is a perfect blend of history, luxury, and warm Italian hospitality. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property sitting right on the lake, short cab ride or take the nearby water taxi into town less 10 minutes either way. Mattia I cant thank enough for providing my wife, friends and I a great trip. Gave us multiple recommendations that all turned out to be great selections. When we make our next trip to Lake Como we will absolutely be staying here again. We didn't have dinner here during our stay, but their bar is fantastic.

My stay at Hotel Villa Flori was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of comfort and warmth that made me feel at home. The atmosphere was calm and elegant, the room was beautifully maintained with an amazing lake view, and everything was perfectly clean. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, with a lovely view that made every morning special. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful — always smiling, always ready to assist with anything. Their genuine care and attention to detail made a huge difference. A special thanks to the manager, Mattia, for his outstanding hospitality and professionalism. His warm and friendly attitude truly reflects the spirit of this beautiful hotel. It’s an experience I would definitely love to repeat again. I left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return someday. Highly recommended!

This was an outstanding experience. The interior was beautiful, and the views from the hotel were amazing. The rooms were immaculate, I’ve never stayed at a hotel as clean and well taken care of as this one. The staff was incredible every step of the way. The lounge bar was great, and bartenders and wait staff were always amazing. The daily breakfast always had great food and an amazing view. And the location is perfectly in between Cernobbio and Como, so there’s always something to do. Certainly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had.

Cozy and dated but old-world charming hotel with rooms right on the lake. Beautiful balcony with stunning views. Rooms have wonderful automated blackout shutters. Updated bathrooms and a lovely outdoor restaurant , Raimondo. Close to the ferry and a 15 min drive to Como. Wonderful, personal concierge - shout out to Katerina!

Today is the 31/10/2025 .. 23.15pm uk time …we’ve just got home from our 4 night stay at this hotel ..… not knowing anything about lake como ( only the football team ) the minimoon was OUT OF THIS WORLD !!! Me and my new wife have NEVER been to a place like this and will probably never go anywhere else like it .. I haven’t got the worlds to describe how amazing it’s been .. all we can say is the hotel .. the staff .. the place .. the places you can go almost straight from this hotel .. the food .. just everything … absolutely spectacular .. and to think we only booked it going off the pictures online .. I’m glad I didn’t read the reviews because some of them would have put me off booking here … but I can 100% say I cannot find anything negative to say about this place .. if I had to nitpick it would have been nice to have a few more English channels on the tv at night but that’s neither here nor there lol .. we will be coming back 100% .. so from this happy newly married couple we would like to thank every single member off staff at hotel villa Flori for making our honeymoon unforgettable !! Keep up the amazing work ..until next time … AND THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME !! 💙💙👏👏👏

We had a wonderful experience at Villa Flori. The location is absolutely stunning — right on the lake with breathtaking views from the rooms and the restaurant. What truly made our stay exceptional was the personal hospitality of Mattia. His warmth, sincerity, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely welcome — and he extended that personal touch to each member of my family, from the youngest to the oldest. It’s rare to experience such thoughtful and heartfelt service.

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding, and from start to finish, everything was exceptional. The location is stunning – right by the lake, offering beautiful views that we never got tired of admiring. It really added something magical to the whole experience. If it's good enough for George Clooney... The hotel itself is immaculate, with excellent facilities and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were outstanding – friendly, professional, and always willing to help. A special mention has to go to Mattia, who went above and beyond to ensure everything ran perfectly throughout our stay. His attention to detail and calm presence made such a difference, especially with the wedding. The whole event was exactly as you'd hope for a wedding, and the food was simply delicious Truly a perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion. We couldn’t recommend it more highly and will absolutely return one day - this is absolutely the place to stay

Palazzo Albricci Peregrini luxury hotel is a refined and upscale accommodation located in the heart of Como's old town. The 15th-century building, owned and run by a family, offers elegant rooms with contemporary design and original features like fireplaces and wooden beams. Guests can enjoy a legendary breakfast served in a romantic garden surrounded by flowers and candles. The boutique hotel's serene ambience, Italian classicism, and artful minimalism create an oasis-like courtyard for relaxation.
Absolutely beautiful property. Large and spacious room overlooking the garden. Felt very quiet and private. Staff could not have been more welcoming. I was so impressed by the attention to detail (design, decor as well as service). The breakfast was spectacular! The array of food and the fact every morsel was homemade and exquisitely presented... utterly wonderful. I thoroughly loved my stay.

Stayed in the Palazzo Albricci Peregrini while in town for a wedding. The hotel is located in the old town and used to be the home of an Abbott. The rooms are nice and cozy and retain really cool details. It an older place so the A/C, water etc function accordingly. The hotel does provide bicycles with which to explore the town and the breakfast, the breakfast is the standout of the experience. Just an amazing, healthy, delicious courses breakfast every morning on a really cute patio. The owner is a really delightful woman and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay on the old town of the lake.

High recommend Palozzo Albricci Peregrini. The hotel is privately owned and very cozy. The service is bespoke and also location is amazing, just at the centre of Como town. Very happy that room was ready for us when we arrived in the morning after a long haul flight. We also got an upgrade, which was so amazing. The room is spacious and thoughtfully designed. Despite it being a historic building, nothing feels old, everything is very well maintained, including flushing power of toilet, water pressure. The breakfast was so amazing and it’s probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had, with so many options served to be step by step, instead of a buffet. Everything is so fresh! The staff are all very hospitable, kind and caring. I will definitely come back!

What can I say, this is the best hotel we stay in all of Italy so far. The lady who owned this place have put a lot of effort in making this place a comfort home away from home. Special mention is the chef who managed the breakfast everyday. She made the most delicious pastry and biscuit everyday. Thank you all for making this happen. See you very soon.

5 Stars – An Unforgettable Stay at Palazzo Albricci Palazzo Albricci is an absolute gem! Quaint and cozy with authentic architecture beautifully blended with modern touches, it’s the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for charm, comfort, and top-notch service. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room spacious and thoughtfully designed, and the amenities were everything you could hope for in a boutique hotel. The staff was perfection—truly above and beyond. From helping me book a restaurant reservation to sending clear, detailed instructions on how to find the check-in desk, they made every part of my stay effortless. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a welcome drink and helpful local recommendations that added so much to my trip. And the breakfast—wow. It’s a full-on experience! You’re served multiple courses, each presented beautifully with the option to choose what you like. Every bite was fresh, homemade, and sourced locally. It felt luxurious yet only took about 30 minutes, so you can still get out early and explore the area. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Staying at Palazzo Albricci was a truly unforgettable experience. Five stars, without hesitation!

Elena and Julie at this hotel were extremely welcoming and helpful. They made the stay extra perfect. The whole place feels like a fairytale location, 14th century, only 10 rooms, very beautiful and boutique feeling. Right in the centre of the old town in Como. Close walk to all shops and the lake. The meals were exceptional, served in seemingly endless stages, both breakfast and dinner. Couldn’t stop taking pictures of all the meal stages. The meals are eaten along a picturesque garden pathway with slow jazz music playing. You have to try the cave bar - tiny, old, curved ceiling spot for two, looking out over the garden. We loved everything about the stay and the people who helped us throughout. Oh, and we ate at a number of places in Como and this was by far the best restaurant we found. Super service, outstanding food, enchanted setting. We stayed 4 nights - wished we could have stayed longer. Can’t wait to go back to this hotel. Superb!!!

Villa Lario is an elegant hotel with 18 suites, all offering stunning views of Lake Como. The property is situated on a private and secluded high point along the lake, providing guests with a sense of exclusivity. Once owned by the Lombardi family, it boasts a unique feature - a private pontoon for guests to swim directly in the lake.
Our favorite escape – time and time again. We’ve had the joy of staying at Villa Lario four times now, and with each visit, it only gets more magical. There’s a reason we keep coming back: the perfect blend of luxury, intimacy, and well-being that this place offers is simply unmatched. The location is stunning — right on the edge of Lake Como, with peaceful views and an atmosphere of total serenity. The suites are exquisite and everything is designed for comfort and elegance. The restaurant is also truly exceptional — every meal is a refined, delicious experience that perfectly complements the setting. But what truly makes Villa Lario unforgettable is the people. The staff is exceptionally kind and attentive, always going above and beyond with warmth and discretion. A very special thank you to Raffaele, whose professionalism and personal touch elevate every stay. He has become part of what we cherish most about this place. Villa Lario is our home away from home, we already look forward to our next visit.

Unfortunately my only good thing to talk about was the food and the staff. The rooms, mainly the Pavillion is directly next to a massive construction project that NO ONE mentioned. Every morning at 6:50am we were rattled by jackhammering - it was like it was coming through the walls! One of our guests staying in another villa experienced zero air conditioning for their entire 3 day stay. The property management didn't seem to care, or shall i say they didn't care at all - not about the absurd amount of construction and the no air. In fact, the front desk lied and never had anyone contact us or offer any adjustments to our final bill. I would highly recommend to whoever reads this to NOT STAY at Villa Lario unless they have the construction completed. It looks like a 5 year build to me - make sure you ask, or you will regret it when you try and get some sleep on a beautiful Lake Como vacation! The food was amazing! The servers were amazing! That's all that was good and unfortunately didn't outweigh the entire experience that was ruined by construction and guests that were not attended to appropriately.

My husband and I just stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! The service was fantastic (we asked for a couple more bottles of water and within 2 mins we had 6 bottles of water delivered to our room) and the staff were so kind! They did an outstanding job making sure we were taken care of and felt at home. It was also one of the most stunning places we have ever stayed and you can tell it is kept up very well. We had a hard time leaving and will definitely be back!

Great place to stay, I was there for a few nights on my honeymoon! The view from the rooms are absolutely spectacular and that alone could give it 5 stars. The staff were very accommodating, professional and kind. The cocktails were amazing and we loved having after dinner drinks by the fire! It was a great end to the evening. Villa Lario is a vibe and I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. During the process of moving my luggage, my tablet PC was completely destroyed—it no longer turns on—and a cherished bottle of wine, which was a gift from a close friend, was broken. As a result, my clothes and bag were also damaged. However, I have yet to receive any response or offer of compensation from the hotel. The hotel is composed of multiple buildings connected by elevators, making luggage transport quite difficult. Despite this, only one staff member was assigned to handle all of my belongings—unacceptable for a long-term traveler carrying multiple bags. This likely increases the risk of damage, and yet the hotel seems completely indifferent to such incidents. In addition, compared to other hotels in the same price range, this hotel appears to be severely understaffed. At the restaurant, it took an unreasonably long time just to place an order, and the staff were clearly overwhelmed throughout the entire mealtime, making it impossible to enjoy a relaxed dining experience. To make matters worse, when we ordered the same pasta dish we had enjoyed the night before, it arrived tasting completely different—so much so that all four of us at the table were genuinely shocked.

We had a dinner reservation at Villa Bianca restaurant a few days ago (21/4), and the food was great, the atmosphere was very nice, the view was exceptional, and the staff were very helpful and very kind. It was our first time in Como, so it was also our first time in your restaurant, but we will definitely make a new reservation not just for the restaurant but for the hotel as well, when we visit again!

MUSA Lago Di Como, located on the western shore of Lake Como, is a modern villa offering 5-star accommodation with only 12 rooms, each featuring balconies overlooking the picturesque lake. Guests can arrive by boat at the private jetty or take a scenic 30-minute drive from Como town. The interiors are elegantly designed with sleek and neutral furnishings. The hotel also boasts an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and garden with stunning lake views.
We spent four days in Lake Como and Musa Lago Di Como was the prefect hotel. With only 12 rooms, it felt intimate and opulent. Our room epitomized luxury with lovely products and spectacular 360 degree view of the lake. The property-outdoor gym, restaurant, pool were all beautiful. The staff was very attentive too-with suggestions of how to spend our day and arranging transportation around the lake and to the train station. I can't image staying anywhere else when we return to this majestic area.

What a hidden gem in Como! Modern, generous and wonderfully situated next to big villas like Balbianello & Balbiano for visiting. This hotel has beautiful rooms with balconies overlooking the lake, a private pool and a very calm exclusive atmosphere! Loved my time here and the staff were all so wonderful and accommodating- what a great find! Bonus is it has its own private dock for boat hires, AND I think the public ferry stops here too. Great base for exploring without a car one of the days if you’re tired of driving Como’s windy roads!

Therapists Valentina and Stefano in the wellness center provided two of the best deep tissue massage experiences my wife and I have had. Rain washed out the road in multiple places that day, making it extremely difficult to get physically get there, and we arrived embarrassingly late. Despite that, these two provided the most patient, reassuring, positive, and professional experience beyond anything I expected when we were pulling in. If there was a sixth star to give, they earned it. Not to mention, the massage itself was beyond excellent. Thank you to Valentina and Stefano, and to MUSA, for making our day and trip up to Lake Como.

WORLD CLASS!! Our stay at this stunning waterfront boutique hotel in Lake Como was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were completely captivated by the setting - breathtaking views of the lake with the Swiss Alps as backdrop. Waking up to this view each morning felt like a dream. The rooms are impeccably designed and we were lucky enough to stay in the 2 bedroom villa with our own private pool! The staff truly go above and beyond in every way. Make you feel like royalty. They even arranged a private boat tour for us in the afternoon, followed by an Italian culinary experience enjoying world-class wines paired with each course. Masterclass!! Hotel Royal Victoria, by R Collection Hotels, is a sophisticated lakeside hotel located in the heart of Varenna. Housed in a 19th-century building that was once a textile mill and hosted Queen Victoria in 1838, this upscale hotel offers panoramic views of Lake Como. Guests can enjoy two dining options, including restaurants with stunning lake vistas and glamorous bars for sipping aperitifs while taking in the gorgeous scenery.
Simply perfect. Even though we arrived before the official check-in time, our room was already ready, such a nice surprise. Upon entering the room, we were welcomed with a bottle of prosecco as a welcome drink, which was a lovely gesture. We stayed in a lake-view room, and we’re so glad we chose it. The view was like a fairytale. Amenities were sufficient and cleanliness was excellent. The only downside was that the usable space in the room was a bit limited. The pool area was wonderful. Relaxing under the sun with an Aperol in hand and the stunning view of Lake Como was a real highlight. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of both hot and cold options. The view made it even more enjoyable. Vegan options are also available. From reception and concierge to housekeeping and the doorman, every staff member was extremely helpful and always smiling. They also offered a shuttle service to the train station, which was very convenient.

We stayed here for three days before our wedding in Lake Como and I LOVED our stay at Hotel Royal Victoria. The best thing about this hotel was the staff (HUGE shoutout to Marco the concierge for walking me to a restaurant to get reservations and my bartender pictured below). They went above and beyond for us. The rooms were a bit small, but the view from the balcony was unbelievable (pictured drinking wine on below). The pool and restaurants are excellent. Biggest breakfast selection out of all of the four hotels we have stayed at in Italy. The view from the breakfast area was absolutely amazing. They keep the breakfast area Unbelievably clean and the service is phenomenal. Out of all four of the four star hotels we have stayed at, We will definitely be staying here again. This place blows the other four star hotels we stayed at out of the water. The outside bar with the view is top tier. The views from the balcony and the outside bar are breathtaking. If you are doing a trip to Lake Como and this hotel works within your budget, BOOK IT NOW. From research it seemed like Varenna was the best place to stay, and I can confirm it definitely was. As far as where to stay in Varenna itself, you can’t beat this location. Easy walk to all the main sights, restaurants, and transportation options. Beyond location, the hotel itself was perfection. Stunning views and photo ops, incredible staff, it was clean, AC worked great, and food options were all a big win (breakfast was a highlight every day - don’t skip the freshly squeezed orange justice) and it was overall just a beautiful hotel. If I ever have the opportunity to come back to Lake Como, staying at HRV is a non-negotiable.

We had a fantastic stay at Hilton Lake Como! From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and at home. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable. We stayed one night at the wonderful Hilton Lake Como. We were ending our trip in Continental Europe and after a hectic a few days in Rome, it was the perfect location to chill. The hotel view is just amazing, and the hotel itself is simply wonderful. The town is 30 min walking, but quite frankly I didn't want to leave the hotel. We had dinner at their Terrazza 241, and had the most amazing experience. The staff treated us like we had personal recommendations from Mr. George Clooney ... No, he was not there. We will definitely return for a bit of a longer stay.

It was a very good experience. The room is nice and clean. The staffs are very hospitable and helpful. Once my wife and I were going to take the bus to the city. A staff who actually work not at the front desk (Mr. Wassim), extended a helping hand and guided us safely. The pleasant experience were felt even outside the facility.

Fantastic overall experience. The service was exceptional. The combination of the Amex booking and Hilton gold elevated the overall experience. Received a room upgrade and had champagne awaiting us in the room, which was a nice touch. The breakfast had a good mix of buffet and made to order menu items. Enjoyed multiple drinks as well as dinner at the rooftop bar. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious. The hotel is located in Como which is easily accessible to the rest of the towns on lake Como. The hotel is around 10 mins walk from the central town of Como and around a 20 mins walk from the train station. Recommend taking a taxi to and from the station.

A Truly Luxurious Stay in Lake Como! If you're looking for a beautiful, luxurious, and comfortable hotel in Lake Como, Hilton Lake Como is absolutely the place to go. In my opinion, it has one of the best locations—especially when enjoyed from the stunning rooftop infinity pool, bar, and restaurant. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. But what truly stood out was the incredible food. From the unlimited breakfast buffet—which was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—to the exceptional dining experience at the hotel’s restaurants, everything was top-notch. The rooftop dining in particular was unforgettable—the views, the ambiance, and the flavors were all magnificent. Highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Lake Como. It exceeded all expectations!

This property has some beautiful features such as a great eternity pool, delicious food at their rooftop restaurant and kind service. But, an honest review also includes a few facts: Shipping -- I needed to ship something home to the US and told several members of the staff several times. When I left my goods to be shipped the morning I checked out (8/3), I was told I'd get a quote within the next day or so. The quote did arrive, but they waited until I was far gone from the property to share one important detail-- my goods would not ship until 8/24 because "the shipping company is on holiday." While I understand culturally things shut down in Italy during the month of August, this is a very important detail I would have expected the front desk staff to share with me in the several conversations I had with them about shipping. Now, I'm very worried about my goods and concerned. Spa -- The spa service professionals were super nice and I really enjoyed the scrub service. The massage was just "ok" so I'd highly recommend seeking a recommendation on massage services or just stick to the water circuit and/or a scrub. Overall, the property is mostly great... but service leaves quite a bit to be desired. Enjoy Como! It's a beautiful place :)

The wedding dinner was absolutely delicious, authentic, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. And the Pizza Party the night before was such a hit with all our guests! We will absolutely be coming back to Villa Vittoria — not just because it holds such a special place in our hearts, but because it’s simply an exceptional place to stay! We recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a romantic getaway, a beautiful vacation, or a truly magical wedding venue. Grazie Villa Vittoria & Laura! 💕

My wife and I had our wedding at Relais Villa Vittoria, and honestly, it was the best decision we could have made. This place isn't just a hotel, it's a slice of paradise run by some of the most genuinely caring people you'll ever meet. The owner, Laura, was a true hero throughout the entire process. She was incredibly conscientious of my wife, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She hooked us up with the best locals—from the amazing pastry chef who made our stunning wedding cake to the photographer who captured every moment beautifully. She even helped us arrange boat rides for our guests and a private dinner, going so far as to close down the restaurant just for us so we could take photos and enjoy a truly magical, intimate evening. Laura is the best The villa itself is simply breathtaking. The grounds are meticulously kept, and the views of Lake Como from the beautiful and serene pool are absolutely immaculate. Our room was wild too—the most authentic and beautiful accommodations we could have asked for. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. They are extraordinary—so warm and attentive that they made us and all of our guests feel like family. They made sure our wedding day was an absolute dream. If you're looking for an unforgettable Lake Como experience, whether it's for a special event or a getaway, you have to come here. Relais Villa Vittoria didn't just meet our expectations; it blew them out of the water.

You can’t beat the view at this hotel so wonderful. The staff is amazing especially Claudio he could not do enough to make sure our stay was unforgettable. The food especially for lunch and dinner was amazing. I hope to be back one day.

We just had our wedding at Relais Villa Vittoria and it was the best decision we could have made! Our wedding was only 20 people and it was the perfect intimate space for that amount. The service, the people, the food, and the VIEWS were unreal. Even better than the photos!!! Highly recommend!

Definitely less than I expected for a four star hotel. Starting with the good, the room and the views were fantastic. It was very serene and relaxing. We stayed in Casa Cecilia, a sort of annex of the main hotel. It was private, we had our own outside space with grass and a little table. I wish I had known about how many stairs would be required to get from the hotel up to our room, not to mention the walk up the small “two-lane” road with very little shoulder nor lighting. We also felt that the service was lacking. The staff, while pleasant and polite, felt rushed and annoyed when we had questions beyond the typical check in/out. On the second night, we thought it would be nice to order room service from the hotel restaurant. Not only did they ask us to walk down to the hotel to order in person, they asked us to wait in the lobby while they prepared everything. Being guests of the hotel, we assumed we would be given plates and metal cutlery to eat with. Unfortunately, they gave us flat wooden cutlery (single use) and all of the food was packaged in take out boxes… AND my husband had to bring it up to our room! Not what we expected for a 4-star hotel and paying this much for it. The WiFi/internet could also be improved. We spent a lot of time in our room because of the storm and this was a point of frustration for us. The breakfast was a high point for our stay. The staff was always so friendly, made us cappuccinos, and always had a full stock. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning we were there. I can’t remember her name, but the woman working in the breakfast room from Sri Lanka was fantastic and so lovely. If you’re staying in Laglio, I would recommend to rent a car. We were here during a big rain storm and taxis/ubers were extremely difficult to find and were expensive when we did find them. I’m sure it would have been easier without the rain, but you can never predict the weather. There also is not that much to walk to in this area and the closest ferry is a 2 mile walk or a bus ride away.

I stayed to attend a wedding. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Our room was beautiful but the amount of mold on the walls and in the bathroom were horrible. Huge amounts of black mold over a foot in diameter in each location I found it throughout the room. I have asthma and now on steroids to help with the rashes and itchy skin. The shower drain would never stay down and always backed up. I paid for breakfast room service for both days of my stay and a cart was never left in our room despite being promised. It was beautiful but it was not worth paying over $1000 for 2 nights. Then when I checked out they said I had a dinner charge which never happened since I was joining a wedding event and attended a rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding dinner the next time. Thankfully they took that fee off as it was a mistake. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend coming here to stay.

Stay away from this place! Trust me, you deserve much better than this. The place is terrible, no parking at all. The staff at the reception are arrogant and completely unhelpful. By pure chance I met the owner, who went completely crazy and honked his horn at me non-stop, while I was just trying to find the entrance to this dump.

The Italian restaurant within the hotel is extremely beautiful.
American Traveler review . The best hotel on our honeymoon!! First the place is gorgeous, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were also great. . The location is ideal. The restaurant is very nice and breakfast was superb. Their menu for lunch and dinner is rather diverse and fairly priced. . The staff was very nice and overly accommodating. They refreshed the room rather early while we were eating breakfast. Then later in the day stopped by to ask if we needed our mini bar re stocked. Then another person came by a few hours later asking if we needed new towels. . I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely love this hotel. They treat you so well and make your stay very pleasurable. From sitting out front and watching the ferries come and go, to having a great meal served up. I can't recommend them enough. Their Breakfast buffet is amazing and very fresh. The coffee is exceptional and all served with a smile!

Small, uncomfortable room. Can hear people above you walking avove you all night. No coffee/tea available available until 7 am. No where to put a large suitcase. Small sink, shower leaks. Bed comforter is too small to cover the bed. Put sign on door, do not disturb, while we were out and about, they came in and made the bed, closing the suitcase that was on the bed, wrinkled clothes. Not a good experience.

We visited the restaurant and it was overall a terrible experience. Steak was unseasoned, no salt or pepper on the table. Starters taken away before serving main dish. Lobster was super chewy. The only sauce to the steak was ketchup. French fries were actually best thing we ordered. Grilled vegetables were not seasoned. Terrible. Stay away. Good for drinks with view (drinks were actually quite good). Didn’t stay in the hotel so can’t evaluate the room. From dining perspective they aim for higher grade but lack in experience to deliver. After sharing our feedback they gave a dessert as a sorry gift, but again it was lacking in taste - tiramisu without the biscuit only cream in chocolate. Whoever is in charge of making these decision should rethink why people actually come to Italy and what they expect from dining.

Went to this restaurant—what a letdown. The steak was like chewing on an old boot, and the zucchini? Stone-cold and dripping in oil. When I complained, the waiter tried to brush it off with “that’s how it’s served.” Absolute nonsense. Cold and greasy is not a style, it’s a disaster. They knocked the tip off the bill to keep me quiet, but honestly—save yourself the trouble. Go somewhere else; plenty of better options around.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My partner and I were very excited to stay at this hotel and unfortunately my 7-month-old daughter, my partner, and myself got COVID a week before our arrival. We were all very ill had to cancel all our vacation plans. This hotel had no sympathy what so ever. No partial refund, no credit, and SIMPLE No refund you just lost more than $1k respond. I will never stay here again and will never recommend this hotel to anyone. BE CAREFUL.

did not stay at this hotel but we randomly stopped by for lunch after arriving! menu looked great - we had their lobster pasta and fried calamari. their lobster pasta tasted bland and portion was incredibly small… but their fried calamari was the best we’ve ever had! views were INSANE and gorgeous - my favorite view in lake como/varenna forsure!

We ate at the restaurant and it was the worst meal we had in Lake Como. The food was overpriced and cold, and did not taste good. None of us finished our plates. The service was slow and we did not order until after 40 minutes of being seated at our table despite having a reservation. Skip this place and save your money.

This hotel is a Scam. Paid 500 euro a night for an old motel room, Hotel pictures are nowhere near for what I got (room 31). Hot water lasts exactly 12 seconds so I basically showered with cold water for 3 nights we were there. Staff said there was no problem with the water after they “checked”. Please do your self a favor and AVOID this hotel at all costs. Location and nightshift staff were great.

Hotel Villa Cipressi, by R Collection Hotels, is a historic lakefront hotel that dates back to the 1300s. It offers beautiful gardens, a spa area for relaxation, and a bar with a terrace where guests can enjoy stunning views of the surroundings. The hotel has been carefully maintained and restored to preserve its architectural features. With its authentic new look unveiled recently, it now boasts upgraded facilities including Pulitzers Bar and the new restaurant Jansz.
My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Villa Cipressi. The views from our room were incredible and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a nice addition. And the access to the gardens / views from the gardens made it even more worth it. We will definitely be back!
Rachel U — Google review
We visited Hotel Villa Cipressi to explore the gardens, and it was absolutely worth the €10 entry fee. The views of Lake Como were stunning – peaceful, romantic, and perfect for photos. The gardens are well kept and offer a lovely walk through nature with gorgeous backdrops. We queued at the famous gate for a photo, but the line was quite hectic and we ended up waiting over an hour. Some people took their time, which is understandable, but it did slow things down a lot. It would be great if the hotel added a staff member to help manage the queue, maybe allowing around 2 minutes per person. That small change could make the experience smoother for everyone. After finally getting our photo, we enjoyed a drink by the bar. We didn’t check the price in advance, and a glass of Aperol Spritz came to €18 – definitely on the pricey side, but with that view, it's somewhat understandable. All in all, it was a lovely experience and we’ll definitely be back. Just a few improvements could make it perfect!

A Magical Stay by Lake Como! We stayed at Hotel Villa Cipressi for a wedding, and it was absolutely unforgettable. The location is breathtaking surrounded by stunning gardens and panoramic views of Lake Como that feel straight out of a dream. The staff was kind and professional, always ready to help with a smile. The rooms are charming and elegant, perfectly blending history with comfort. Everything was beautifully organized for the wedding from the ceremony overlooking the lake to the dinner under the stars. It’s one of those places that truly captures the magic of Italy.

Famous Gates of Heaven at Lake Como (Varenna). We came on a Monday morning at 10am, not many people in the garden. There were 2 other couples at the gate and once they left, we had the place to ourselves for 15 minutes! The area behind the gate is very shallow so make sure to have a wide angle lens for your photos! Very beautiful area, granted, we did not have to wait in line.

We traveled across Italy, stayed in jaw-dropping spots, and met enough kind locals to start our own Vespa gang. Then came Hotel Villa Cipressi — the final boss of vacation letdowns. Months of careful planning, friendly emails, and confirmations to make our 30th anniversary smooth as gelato? Useless. Check-in was an Olympic event in chaos: “Do you have a parking pass?” “No.” “Oh wait, yes you do.” (Thirty minutes later.) While waiting, we were invited to fetch our own luggage — from the car parked right out front — because, of course, self-service romance is all the rage in Italy now. The room? Allegedly upgraded. Downgrade per my reservation. In reality, it was more “Motel 6 study abroad.” The bed was petrified wood, the pillows flatter than my optimism, and the towels could sand furniture. Shower door didn’t close, but hey — nothing says intimacy like flooding your bathroom together! Breakfast? Hidden like a national secret until day two. The veranda? Closed for a wedding — directly below our window. But, it will shut down at 10PM she said! The bar and restaurant? Also closed, because apparently the entire hotel attended that wedding. (Cue the Soup Nazi voice: “No wine for you!” 🍷) Now for the real kicker: the gardens. Oh, the famous gardens! Except you’ll be asked to pay admission each time you enter — even if you’re a guest, then they begrudgingly ask you name a check, then with a sneer, the glass door is opened. Because nothing screams “exclusive stay” like being asked for tickets to walk past your own room. And when the public gardens close? So do the hotel grounds. That’s right — locked out of paradise while paying to be there. At this point, all we could do was laugh. So sure, 5 stars. Would absolutely poop there again. 💩

I shot a wedding at Hotel Villa Cipressi on Lake Como and the views are just unreal - every direction you look is a postcard. The light, the mountains, the water, it’s all just so dreamy! Beautiful gardens, winding little paths, and the prettiest spots for photos everywhere, overlooking the lake. One of my favourite places in the world!
Siobhan F — Google review
Save your money and buy a pass to the gardens but definitely don’t stay here. The worst customer service. Check in was awful and the night reception was incredibly rude. The day staff kept forgetting we were guests and kept yelling at us to pay to get in. I left 2 jackets in the closet upon check out and emailed to see if I could get them back somehow, Still no response a week later. Now I have lost the jackets completely as I am home now. The room was bare and felt like a hospital room. The blankets were terrible. Everything about this place is awful except the terrace views & the gardens.Do not recommend to anyone to stay here ever! Considering this was my first stop on our Italy travels I am disgusted and saddened I chose this place to be so important on my list of travels. Huge disappointment.
Tabanda F — Google review
This is only for anyone visiting the villa for photos. The ladies at the entrance were extremely rude — they immediately charged us €19 per person, and we later found out the tickets were actually €10. They weren’t willing to answer my questions and kept talking among themselves while I was waiting, which felt very unprofessional. Definitely poor customer service. Also, be prepared for a queue when entering, and note that your photos will depend heavily on the lighting. We went around 12 PM, and the light was harsh, so I was quite disappointed with how the photos turned out. However, the villa itself was beautiful — worth seeing if you go at a better time of day.

An outstanding accommodation with a breathtaking Lake view. We’ve booked the signature suite in which a bathtub, Jacuzzi and steam bath were included in the room. The room is super clean and well maintained the stuff were welcoming and friendly. the only downside of this beautiful hotel is the food. Warning - Do NOT book with Bianca Relais given their fraudulent practices and lack of professionalism. My experience was a total nightmare, showing they use a fraudulent scheme to charge unjustified cancellation fees. Here’s what happened: 1) They Claimed a Fake Second Booking: I made just one booking. But after I cancelled it, the hotel shockingly claimed I had two bookings and tried to charge me a huge cancellation fee for a reservation I never made and knew nothing about. This is either a major system error or, more likely, them intentionally creating fake bookings to scam people. 2) Charged over 1,000 Euro: The cancellation fee for this "ghost" booking was over €1,000 per night – It's absolutely outrageous for a booking that didn't exist. 3) Terrible, Rude Customer Service: I tried emailing and calling, but they gave me generic, useless replies. When I finally got someone on the phone, they stalled, saying their department was closed and they needed 48 hours, even though my "arrival" was less than 48 hours away. 4) They Screamed at My Wife: When the reservations team finally responded, they just said they'd charge my card for a booking I didn't make. When my wife called to sort it out, they screamed at her and said there was nothing she could do. Unacceptable! 5) The General Manager Was Just as Bad and Patronizing: We even tried contacting the area manager, but he was equally unhelpful, rude, and sarcastic, especially when my wife said we'd escalate this. He refused to speak to me on the phone saying that there's nothing to speak about and that they will proceed with the cancellation fee 6) It is clear that the hotel is trying to maximize revenue. On the same day, they had plenty of rooms available for 500 euros or less yet they claimed that they cant refund us because they are fully booked and will lose on the income. If you check right now, you will see that the hotel is discounted down to 250 euros a day... Bottom line: This hotel stole over €1,000 from me for a booking I never made. They offered zero real proof and treated us terribly. This isn't just bad service; it's a scam. Be warned: If you book here and cancel, they might claim you had another booking you didn't make and try to charge you. Stay away to protect your money and peace of mind.

Fraud charges- this hotel duplicated our reservation, and while we cancelled what we thought was the only reservation they are charging us cancellation fee of the full room price for a second booking we did not know we have. In the resolution process, after 48 hours of unresponsiveness from the hotel staff we were treated with extremely rude behavior of the reservation manager as well as the general manager despite their acknowledgement of system issues. While we have not stayed at the hotel, i am warn ling everyone of 2 things: 1) be very careful when making direct bookings on their website and try to use third parties, given the instability of their systems 2) there is so much ego and entitlement and treating customers with ridicule within all the staff that i cant imagine they would offer acceptable service My personal recommendation: for 1000 euros per night there are soooo many nicer options in lake como, avoid this hotel at all cost

A splendid view and perfect spot for people-watching at sunset. The drinks menu is varied and enjoyable, though prices are a bit higher than neighbouring places. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. We waited around 25 minutes for a single glass of wine, and had to follow up multiple times before anything arrived. Staff felt rather unwelcoming and brusque, which made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. It’s a real shame, as the location has so much potential—better training and a more attentive, friendly approach could truly elevate it.

We visited Bellagio in early November. Stayed at Hotel Du Lac. Located overlooking the lake next to the ferry pier. Weather was cool. Hotel is very clean and staff was super friendly specially those manning the reception counter. The management helped with a cake and drinks to celebrate my daughter's birthday at their restaurant. So cool!. We used the SPA. The lake view from the roof top bar was breathtaking. Breakfast was superb. Luggage store was at our disposal. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and was a memorable one. We couldn't ask anything more then this. We would recommend this hotel to visitors coming to Bellagio! Visitor from Malaysia!

The hotel is lovely and the location is perfect. The views from hotel’s balconies and terraces are stunning and our room was comfortable and clean. We found the bar and the restaurant a bit too busy, but it is understandable for such a location. We just chose to go somewhere else for dining during our 4-nights stay.

Overall, a nice quaint option in the heart of Bellagio. The reception staff were great - very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, but basic. However, this was acceptable given the proximity to the town center and ferry stops. The views from the first floor dining room and rooftop bar cannot be beaten. Amazing! A couple of complaints to note: - The hotel allows loud music to be played at the outdoor lounge area at street level until 11pm. This consists of amplified singing and bass, and can be heard throughout the hotel. Consider this if you plan to go to sleep early. - The staff at the street level restaurant/bar was dismissive and unhelpful. We chose to eat and drink elsewhere.

We've stayed at Hotel du Lac 4 times. We love it. You cannot beat it's location to the lake, ferry and town. Amazing people on staff that treat you like family. Incredible restaurants in Bistro Arturo and Goiya with great views, atmosphere and food and a rooftop bar for a drink to start the evening. For the money, the best hotel in Bellagio.

Nestled in Como, Ostello Bello Lake Como is a relaxed hostel offering simple rooms and dorms. It's conveniently situated near the Ferry Terminal and the Cable Car Como-Brunate, providing easy access to explore Lake Como and its surrounding towns. The hostel boasts high user ratings for its cleanliness and location. Guests can enjoy free breakfast and dinner, as well as amenities such as private bathrooms, a kitchen, a terrace, a garden, and an on-site restaurant.
I only spent one night at this hostel but I had a great stay. Since the atmosphere is super social, it was easy to meet new people there. The rooms are clean. They offer the possibility to lock your luggage there after checking out. It's close to the old town, the port, train station and supermarket. I would recommend this hostel to everyone who visits Como and likes to meet new people!

Staying at Ostello Bello Como truly felt like being at home. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming — full of comfort, good vibes, and amazing people. Everything is clean, cozy, and beautifully organized. A special shout-out to Adriano — he’s simply the best! Friendly, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. He really made my stay unforgettable. If you’re in Como, this is the best place to stay — you’ll feel part of a family from the moment you arrive. ❤️

Clean rooms & bathroom and comfy beds. They had kept tampons, moisturizer, sanitary pads in all women's room which was a well thought addition :-) Loved it! Well maintained kitchen. Was surprised to see they offered free pasta & few other basic ingredients for the clients. This even 5 star hotels don't do. Only challenge : Rooms are available in 1st, 2nd & 3rd floor but there are no lifts. That Should be mentioned in the website. I had my workout lugging my 20kgs suitcase 2 floors up when i checked in. Lively atmosphere with amazingly friendly staff :-) You don't get this customer service in best of the star hotels too. It's also close to the ferry point & train station. True value for money :-)

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The location is perfect! Just steps away from a 24/7 Carrefour Market. Everything was spotless, the amenities were great, and the staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly and always willing to help. Adriano C. was especially helpful, along with many others who made my stay feel so welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

The staff was great here and the common areas are cool. Good location to walk around Como. Appeals to a younger crowd and the bar will be lively. I stayed 2 nights in a 6-bed room and unfortunately I could not wait to leave. Good people, but the room was worn out, some fixtures not working. The bed frames have metal storage bins under them which cause obnoxious screeching noises when being accessed. I personally do not like when hostel bathrooms are located in the room, especially when the door is right next to my head and ventilation is poor. The shower is at floor level, causing sloppy wet floors. The bathroom overall was approaching dingy. There was only one common-area bathroom available for this section as far as I could tell. I also got bit at night with a suspiciously linear set of bites. I can't confirm I saw any, but I strongly suspect. Not the worst experience here, but I think they could do way better specifically with improving the rooms.

By far the best hostel experience I've had while travelling. The location is perfect and it's the main activity hub for travellers to Como. The staff are awesome. Especially Adriano, who even offered to take us on a free walking tour of the city! Definitely recommend staying here if you're on a budget or just want to meet new people!

Perfect for solo travelers. A very sociable Hostel. This is what every hostel should be like. They host activities every night so it’s very easy to meet new people. Also locals go to the bar here, so it’s not just tourists. A bit expensive in comparison to other hostels, but there’s also free food of good quality. It’s worth it.

I had the best experience at Ostello Bello Como! The vibes are amazing, and the whole team is super welcoming. The room was spacious, and the common areas were great. We had such a good time at the family dinner hosted by Maddie — the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so much fun

Parco San Marco Hotels & Beach Resort is a luxurious retreat located on the eastern edge of Lake Lugano, surrounded by breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. The resort boasts top-notch amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, multiple restaurants, a spa, and a private beach. Guests can enjoy spacious suites with modern comforts and stunning lake views. The property also features an extensive park, children's playground, and wellness oasis with various relaxation options.
I have to add to the five star reviews of this place, as it really is so special! Everything was just fantastic, but the highlight really is the wonderful staff, every staff member was so friendly and helpful. In particular they love all the little children and greeted them so warmly every morning at breakfast. The location is fabulous, the views across the lake are stunning and the private beach area with the blow up slide down by the lake is the best area of the hotel in my opinion. There are beautifully manicured grounds and if you wander up high there are peaceful places to sit and unobstructed views across the lake. Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection, however - dinner in the main restaurant we found not so good, with slow service, the menu was not really explained, and the food very disappointing. My husband was served BBQ sauce with a filet steak! The other restaurants on the property we can't speak to as many of them only allowed children above the age of 16. Lastly the room, we had a prime view and it was very peaceful at night, the entertainment at the bar below was very considerate as it finished at 10 the latest. The room could do with a bit of an upgrade in terms of decor, but it was extremely clean and the beds were very comfy. I would say that if you are paying for a family suite that has a kitchenette, it's a bit stingy to not let the guests use the kitchen utensils without being charged extra (90 euros for the stay), as you are already paying a premium so we thought that should have been included. Overall though, I highly recommend this wonderful hotel for a trip to the Italian lakes, and particularly if you have children (all ages) as there is so much for them to do!

Overall we had a lovely stay. The location and resort itself are amazing, the views and lake are out of this world. The staff were brilliant and so friendly. The kids pool and family spa were fantastic. The only downside for us were the added costs we hadn't fully expected (missed details when booking), €10/day for parking (with a 50% discount for booking direct) and €17 per NIGHT (!) for a baby cot. When the overall stay is pretty expensive these added extras seemed a bit ridiculous. If going, recommend staying B&B and exploring Perlazzo for evening meals or see Claudio at the pool for delicious pizzas ⭐

We had a great experience here, all of the staff were amazing! We enjoyed a day at the spa and spent all our time on the resort. Logistically it is a little difficult to get to as you must take the bus or a $70 taxi to the resort so I recommend the bus it was under $10 for 2 people. There is plenty of food options here but I recommend getting the half board at the very least as it can get expensive. Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend staying here as it is nothing short of beautiful and relaxing.

Unfortunately, we were never able to experience this hotel due to a last-minute health issue that prevented us from traveling to Italy at all. We had been genuinely looking forward to our stay and notified the hotel more than a week in advance - well outside what would typically be considered a last-minute cancellation. Despite this, the hotel declined to offer a refund or even a partial credit. We made every effort to transfer the reservation to someone else, but were unsuccessful. Throughout this process, we found the hotel's customer service to be rigid and lacking empathy, as though unexpected emergencies are not part of life. Given the circumstances, both personal and global, we had hoped for a more understanding and humane response. In the future, in this world where uncertainty is a constant, we will make sure to choose a hotel that treats us as people and not a mere wallet. Edit: I now see a response from the hotel. While my Gmail account does not reflect my name I am in no way anonymous. The last name is Ariav and we have made many direct and open attempts and communications with customer service only to receive a shrugging "empathetic" response, sending us to seek help elsewhere, which I recognize in this response as well. It is a far cry from trying to truly solve an unfortunate situation - and possibly retaining a paying customer in the future. You are more than welcome to reach out to me through my email if you find a real compromise, not just lip service. Best. Final edit: Parco San Marco reached out to us and, as a special exception to their policy, agreed to provide a voucher for use at their resort. We are grateful for their consideration and hope to be able to make use of it.

Beautiful view! The hotel is so nice and accommodating. The staff were very informative on how to get to places and advised the most efficient routes to get around. The bus is right in front that can take you to the train station. Its a journey to get to it, but so worth it.

Great to be back for a 6th!! visit - testament to how much I love this place. The wonderful Giulia was there to greet with hospitable charm and a warm welcome. However, and hence the low rating, we were given a lowest elevation room next to the road with a limited view and noisy (see picture), despite having amazing views on all prior visits. To be clear, the interior of the room is fine but this place is all about the view of the lake. Upon asking to change room, was told that there were no other 3 bedroom apartments available. We were offered a 2 bed plus a separate 1 bed, which I was willing to take despite splitting the family, but was asked to pay 700 euros more. Very disappointing given this was booked well in advance. Come on Parco San Marco….. surely you can do better than that, especially for return visitors!

One of the best hotels in the area. Gorgeous views to the lake. Family, friendly, and lots of activities around. There’s a play ground for the children outdoor pool indoor pool sound a Jacuzzi steam room for the adult. The food is delicious, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Switzerland is just a 15 minute drive away. Most of restaurants close after 10 but there’s a Turkish kebab place and a pizza restaurant that is less than five minutes away and close at 12 AM. The vegetarian and margarita pizza are the best.

Grand Hotel Imperiale Resort & SPA is a luxurious Art Nouveau villa located in the charming town of Moltrasio on the shores of Lake Como. The hotel offers a range of amenities including an outdoor pool, refined restaurant, and state-of-the-art wellness center with a spa featuring an indoor pool and Turkish bath. The rooms are spacious and light-filled with old-school romantic charm, while the dining options offer modern techniques and local flavors in a picturesque setting by the lake.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel Imperiale and I must say it was a truly exceptional experience. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and all the modern amenities you could ask for. But the real highlight of my stay was the breakfast. Oh, the breakfast! It was a sumptuous spread of fresh pastries, cheeses, meats, and eggs, all perfectly prepared and presented. The staff were attentive and friendly, refilling my plate with ease and answering any questions I had. The location of the hotel was also convenient, with easy access to public transportation and many local attractions within walking distance. Overall, I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel Imperiale to anyone looking for a comfortable and indulgent stay. One of the best premium luxury suites and resorts in Como, Italy with direct access to the lake and country side as well. Options of both outdoor and indoor dining along with room service. The resort has an antique regal touch with a bit of modern flavour as well. We had a pleasant stay here and would highly recommend it for short stays. The food was amazing as well with a variety of restaurant options to choose from. Highly recommended.

We had some great days at this hotel. The biggest asset is the near location to Como and the lake with a stunning pool. It’s a bit pricey but other than that we’d definitely like to return 👌🏻

This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The hotel is listed as a 4 star but it is more like a 2 star. I pre-paid for 3 days but I left after 2 and lost the money I paid. Pros: 1. location. It is 2 minutes walk to ferry and right off the lake with beautiful views. 2. The pool by the lake. Con: 1. The room is rundown with old furnishings. There are no decorations. The walls are bare with the exception of a TV that doesn’t work. 2. The TV doesn’t work. After traveling through Europe for 2 weeks, I came to Lake Como to relax and do nothing in beautiful surroundings. I was looking forward to lazying around in a beautiful hotel room watching TV. No such luck here. 3. The bathroom sink didn’t drain well. 4. The water temperature barely got above cold, so I could not enjoy even a hot shower. 5. There is no iron in the room. You have to go downstairs to the iron room to use an iron. Such an inconvenience. 6. Pricing. This place is expensive for no reason. From the nightly rate to food prices. They say, you get what you pay for. I paid for way more than I got. If you stay here, do be informed.

Celebrated our wedding here and it was such a fantastic experience. We are grateful to Chiara and all of the extraordinary staff for all of their help. They made sure everything was perfect on our special day. The room was gorgeous with a classic luxury interior. The breakfast buffet and room service were phenomenal. You can easily spend the day in the beautiful gardens and pool with a stunning view of the lake. Finally the relaxing spa made for an unforgettable stay.

We had an amazing experience at the resort. Everyone from checkin, servers, and the pool staff were awesome. We were blown away with the service all around. We stayed in one of the suites with our family, and the room was great. We played cards on the patio at night and swam in the pool/lake all day. The food is great here as well! This was a GREAT option for our Italy trip. Pro tip - use the car ferry if you go to Bellagio as it cuts off a ton of time.

Hotel Villa Aurora is a charming lakeside hotel located in Lezzeno, directly overlooking the picturesque Lake Como. Guests can enjoy elegant rooms and suites with stunning views of the lake, along with modern amenities including free Wi-Fi. The hotel features a pizzeria, two bars, and an attractive breakfast room for dining options.
I can't say enough good things about this delightful place. It is tremendously welcoming, both the staff and the physical space invite you to relax and have fun from the time you cross the threshold. Every component (breakfast, room lay out, the restaurant, the cafe/bar, the sun deck, the water activities) has been refined to the sweet spot where functionality and cosiness are maximised. Staff are very experienced, and just lovely people. We were a group of 16, and nothing was a drama, and the only hitch was leaving! It's wonderful that places like this are out there, and we felt very lucky to have happened upon this memorable place, and aspire to an early return visit

The room was very clean and nice, and the private beach is very nice to have :) The restaurant is delicious and the staff is genuine. It is well situated (the hotel btw) and offer you a nice view to the lake Como!! You even can spend more time admiring the view with Kayak or boat (at your disposition )Don't worry about parking your car, someone takes care of that !!

We stayed at Hotel Aurora for one night and it was absolutely amazing. From very spacious and clean rooms to lovely and always smiling staff to delicious breakfast buffet! In Italy it is rare to find such an overwhelming array of food for breakfast and I was absolutely delighted. There was something for everyone - gluten free, vegan, meat eaters etc. New, fresh food was being brought all the time and it was visible that the ingredients were very high quality! The views around are breathtaking and we would definitely come back:)

I had an amazing stay - everything exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was outstanding — honestly the best I’ve ever had in Italy! The selection was excellent, freshly pressed juices, locally sourced butter and eggs, and even a great variety of breads. The hotel’s location is perfect, almost directly on the lake, and the restaurant sits right by the water, serving delicious meals. I didn’t even feel the need to try other restaurants in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel offers free sun loungers for guests as well as SUP boards and kayaks, which was a wonderful bonus. I would love to come back!

Prego! Hotel Villa Aurora in Lezzeno is a true gem on the shores of Lake Como—our stay was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff made us feel right at home. The hotel’s family-run charm and attention to detail shine through in every aspect, from the immaculate rooms to the exceptional service at the restaurant. The staff were always helpful (English). No one asked for a tip (refreshing coming from the Americas) Rooms & Comfort Our accommodations were spotlessly clean, cozy, and exactly as pictured on the website. We stayed in the IL Molo Apartment, just a short stroll from the main hotel- Hotel Villa Aurora. The three-story layout was perfect for our group, would comfortably sleep six, and the fully stocked kitchen made it easy to settle in. Waking up to breathtaking lake views each morning was an absolute highlight. The rooms in the main hotel are equally inviting, with elegant furnishings and all the comforts you need for a relaxing stay. We kept our windows open at night and listened the song birds in the morning as we sipped on our espresso! We even checked out the property in Nesso (Old Mill) on a day hike. Location & Walkability The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Lake Como. It’s a quick walk to both the ferry (7 minutes) and bus stops (1 minute), making it easy to visit nearby towns like Bellagio (35 minutes) and Como (50 minutes) without a car (don't rent one). The area is very walkable, and we felt safe at all hours—even when returning late at night on public transportation. While the picturesque lakeside paths and charming villages are best enjoyed on foot, travelers with mobility issues or strollers should be aware that some routes can be steep or uneven. Activities & Experiences There’s no shortage of things to do, both on and off the water. We enjoyed hiking, exploring historic castles, shopping in local boutiques, wine tasting, and even taking a cooking class. Water sports are a big draw here—kayaks, paddle boards, and even wake surfing are available right from the hotel’s private sun deck. We got lucky with the sunshine in late April. The hotel’s proximity to natural beaches and scenic trails makes it a perfect base for outdoor adventures. Dining & Local Cuisine Fine dining is the norm in this region, and the hotel’s lakeside restaurant is no exception. We savored delicious seafood, fresh pasta, and wood-fired pizza while soaking in panoramic views of the lake (go at sunset to the local restaurants). For those with dietary sensitivities, we were pleasantly surprised: despite having issues with bread and cheese back home, we had no problems enjoying these staples in Italy. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with options for all tastes, including gluten-free choices it was €10. There is a bar in the hotel where you can order food, snacks, drinks and visit with other guests and friendly staff. Safety & Peace of Mind We always felt completely safe, whether walking around after dark or taking the last bus home. The friendly local atmosphere and helpful staff did their best to make the trip unforgettable! Travel Tips A couple of tech tips made our trip even smoother: Google Maps was invaluable for navigating the area and planning public transit, especially with an eSIM for reliable connectivity. Use it to get on/off the bus. I used Airalo and got a unlimited data eSim. It worked from Amsterdam, Milano, to Zurich. Data speed was more than I needed. Using our phone’s camera and a translation button (download the Italian pack!) made reading menus and signs effortless. Final Thoughts Our stay at Hotel Villa Aurora was unforgettable. The combination of stunning scenery, exceptional hospitality, and endless activities makes it a perfect choice for anyone visiting Lake Como. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to friends, families, and couples alike. Five stars—don’t miss this lakeside paradise!

Outstanding hotel with such a wonderful vibrant family feeling. The main restaurant looks awesome but our insight would be to prefer the terrace/bistro with a gin and tonic on the sun bathed terrace beforehand. Staff are awesome, food amazing and we wished our 2 days had been 5. We will return and recommend

An incredible stay made all the better by the friendly and gracious staff who were so helpful. You can’t beat the scenery and location, the onsite restaurant (best lasagna bolognese you’ll ever have), or the proximity to the ferry for exploring other areas around Lake Como. Grab a balcony room, it’s a view you’ll never forget. And book a Lake Como Boat tour, they can pull right up to the pier at the restaurant across the street.

The hotel is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts as it offers bike rentals and is surrounded by picturesque mountain views, making it an ideal base for hiking and cycling adventures. Additionally, the hotel features a great onsite restaurant where guests can enjoy dining next to the water.
A lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Great facilities. The rooftop bar has fantastic views over the lake and mountains. Easy 15 minute stroll into Lecco if you wish to go there but quite a few nice bars and restaurants on the doorstep.

A perfectly nice hotel with excellent service. The spa/wellness area has a great sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The rooftop gives a nice view over the local area and the lake. This location is away from the touristy parts (Como, Bellagio, etc) which is nice if you want to avoid the crowds. Room was big and comfortable. Easy access to Milan from the train station at Lecco.

On behalf of the OBEGI Home team, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Promessi Sposi team and especially to Emanuele, for the exceptional support and hospitality. We were truly impressed by the seamless communication with the team, which made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The staff’s friendliness and willingness to assist at every step left a lasting impression on us. The beauty of the hotel, paired with the incredible view, created an unforgettable atmosphere that we absolutely loved. Thank you once again for making our time at Promessi Sposi so memorable.

My wife and I were looking for a charming alpine city on Lake Como that felt authentic and away from the heavy crowds, and Lecco was the perfect choice. Hotel Promessi Sposi exceeded our expectations — beautiful views of the lake, modern and comfortable rooms, and warm hospitality throughout our stay. The location made it easy to enjoy both the lake and the surrounding mountains, and it gave us a more relaxed experience than the busier towns nearby. We’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quieter, more authentic Lake Como stay.

Hotel Promessi Sposi was a fantastic choice for our business trip. I was hosting a large group, and they were so impressed by the hotel, its staff, and the views. While the town of Malgrate is not the most touristic town, its beauty is worth it. Special thanks to Emanuele and his team for taking care of us!

The hotel location is very nice, and the staff seem friendly. However, for the price of the hotel, the quality of the breakfast was very disappointing. The breakfast was very plain, and for a prestigious hotel in Italy, you would expect proper coffee at breakfast or at least a coffee machine in the room, which was not the case. In addition, any extra requests, such as having a different type of eggs, came with an additional charge. We had a room with a lake view on the first floor, but we experienced a very strong and heavy smell of cigarettes in the room. Although we complained about it, nothing was done to solve the issue. Finally, there was not enough space in the room for hanging clothes.

Superbe boutique hotel with a stunning garden and view on the lake and its mountains. Incredible value for money on lake Como. The staff is also very attentive, they will know who you are from day 1 and cater to your habits which is lovely. Perfect location for a nice chill in a stunning view and plenty of great hikes and cycle rides around. There’s a bike rental shop just down the road. Thank you for the lovely stay

Beautiful views across the lake to the mountains in this more natural end of the lake. The design and concept of this boutique hotel feels more like a villa hire, with staff to take care of you. The immediate access to the garden with view points to the lake and a glamorous roof top bar below the hotel via path from the hotel. The spa and restaurant in the hotel was great for our family. We all enjoyed using the plunge pool at the hotel. We enjoyed staying as a family group with access to boats and F1 at Monza. Access to Como possible via the ferries or private boat hire.

My room with a cement view listed as "garden view" was a box room with views of cement, air con unit and a large roof. Not relaxing at all. Very expensive and misleading when booking what you're actually getting with the room. When I asked management to discount me for providing a room with a couple of tree tops but mostly concrete and buildings, they declined to do so. My main issue is that they should have said "garden view - with obstructions". AND charged less, like you would find selecting a seat when going to the theatre. I chose this hotel for the room views and didn't get any. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are lovely. Shame the whole reason for coming was a complete disappointment and false advertising. I begrudge the misleading way they promote the rooms. It's incredibly poor customer service from the promotion of the accommodation to the way they deal with complaints. While some rooms may be lovely, some are so far from lovely you really ought to stay elsewhere. I'd suggest to anyone taking the gamble on this hotel to get them to tell you the room number and send pictures of your view before booking and hold them to it if it changes!

Extremely disappointing stay in Room 105. The room was right behind reception — noisy, no soundproofing. The AC made a deafening noise and couldn’t be turned off from the room; we had to go to reception three times to ask. The window couldn’t be opened due to rain and noise. The room became unbearably hot — we woke up at 4 AM and left by 5 without even having breakfast. The bathroom flooded during a normal shower (even after a technician “repaired” the hose), and I slipped and fell. The door wouldn’t close due to moisture damage and visible mold. No minibar, no safe, no proper wardrobe, not even a kettle with tea or coffee. Absolutely not the standard expected from a 4-star Michelin-listed hotel.
Alex S — Google review
We had a truly disappointing experience with your hotel. On the day of our planned stay, we couldn’t reach the hotel because the road was completely blocked due to construction. We immediately informed the hotel and requested a refund, but were flatly refused. What made it worse was the staff’s extremely rude and uncooperative attitude. The representative claimed they had “provided us with directions and advice,” but the reality is, they were not in the car with us and couldn’t possibly know the actual road conditions. Their exact words were, “I wasn’t with you in the car, so how could I guide you?” This is not only irresponsible but also shows a complete lack of empathy. If the hotel knows access routes might be problematic, it’s their duty to proactively inform guests — not shift blame after the fact. We were left stranded, frustrated, and out of pocket. For a hotel that claims to value guests, their refusal to offer even a partial refund or alternative solution was shocking. The lack of accountability and poor customer service make us question ever staying here again. Avoid this place if you value respect and basic hospitality.

Terrible Experience, Zero Compassion, and Unfair Refusal of Refund I am writing this review with extreme disappointment and frustration. My recent booking experience has been utterly unacceptable. We had a reservation for 8 Oct but were unable to reach the hotel because the main road leading to it was completely closed due to official roadwork. This was entirely beyond our control – it was not a personal choice but a forced circumstance. We provided evidence of the road closure and immediately contacted the hotel to explain the situation, hoping for understanding and cooperation. To our shock, the hotel manager refused our refund request outright. Their attitude was dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly, rude. There was no attempt to find a solution or show any customer empathy. They hid behind their "strict no-refund policy," showing complete disregard for genuine, unavoidable circumstances. It is appalling that a business operates without any flexibility or human decency. They are essentially profiting from a situation they know we could not have prevented. This is not about a change of plans; it's about being physically prevented from accessing their service. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to beware. Their policies are rigid and unfair, and their customer service is terrible. They do not deserve your business. We are now pursuing a chargeback through our credit card company. Avoid this place at all costs.

Some very nice days spent in room 106 with direct access to the garden and pool, room with a beautiful view, ladies from reception and kitchen very nice and helpful. The drawbacks I can mention are the noisy air-conditioning, not very intuitive, breakfasts tasty but it would be useful to expand a little on local products like cheese, cold cuts etc.

It c o u l d be a great place: the vision was fantastic but the execution was mediocre. The room was humid, the walls are marked with mold, sockets falling out of the walls, shower water running all over the bathroom, AC so loud it’s impossible to use it. The staff was incredible though: the receptionist - major in the history of arts - shared great recommendations. Hopefully the place will do some reconstruction works, because the architectural vision and the place are truly exceptional.

Hotel La Perla in Tremezzo offers a tranquil stay with cozy quarters and a terrace boasting scenic lake views. Situated on the waterfront, it provides easy access to Villa del Balbianello and Villa Carlotta. The property features an outdoor pool, rooftop terrace, and garden for relaxation. Most rooms offer balconies with panoramic views of Lake Como.
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon last month and had the most wonderful time. We were very excited to get a corner room overlooking the lake because the views were incredible. The staff were so welcoming and helpful with tips on which roads to take to get into town and the best places to park! Breakfast was excellent with great variety. If we come back to Lake Como, we would definitely choose Hotel La Perla again.

I can not begin to sing my praises! This place is the best kept secret. Mara at reception (and absolutely everyone that works here) are completely dedicated to keeping their clientele happy. There is absolutely nothing negative I can think of - La Perla is fabulous!

Spent out honeymoon here and had the best experience! Staff is so friendly and amazing. Rooms are beautiful and clean with an amazing view of the lake. We would walk down to town everyday to go to the beach or use the pool here at the hotel. Tried 4 different dishes for dinner here and everything was so good. We would stay here again if we come back.

The hotel is lovely with breathtaking views. The family that owns and operates it are amazing and go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. If you don’t have a rental car be sure to arrange taxis because it’s a long and steep walk to the town, ferries, bus stop, etc. Overall it was a great experience!

I wish the hotels like this can get 5 stars one day. I’ve been to many hotels around Como lake, and honestly it’s just a disaster in general or crazy amount per night, but this hotel stole my heart. The location is perfect, it’s not so far from the lake, and it’s really easy to reach the ferry, they have their own parking which is really great, as some hotel on Como doesn’t have it at all. The lake view from the hotel is stunning. Service: I’m amazed by their friendly and helpful stuff, as we were traveling with baby, and I know we’ve been a mess, but the stuff and the hosted been so attentive to us. Room: we’ve got amazing room, with the lake view from the terrace, and thank you for adding the extra towel for the baby, as usually hotels ignoring it and you have to use some small towels instead. The rooms and a common area were perfectly clean. Food: it’s nice breakfast options they serve, also you can order some panini and pizza until 5pm I think, and also they have an option for the dinner, the menu is small — but you have nice choice anyway. By the way — it’s the best salmon pasta I’ve tried in whole Italy. I would recommend this hotel, as it worth the price.

We had such a wonderful time at Hotel La Perla. The location is peaceful, breath-taking views of the lake and mountains, immaculately clean rooms, romantic. The family owners are so welcoming. They cannot do enough for you, and made the stay very special. The food is traditional, home-cooked, delicious. I'm recommending this hotel to all my friends and family. The perfect base when visiting the lake. We'll be back!

Villa Lario Resort Mandello is a luxurious lakefront hotel that offers refined accommodations and upscale amenities. Situated on the eastern shores of Lake Como, the resort boasts stunning views, extensive landscaped gardens, a private dock and beach, as well as a sun terrace and an exuberant swimming pool. It is renowned as a dream wedding and honeymoon destination, frequented by celebrities. The award-winning restaurant serves gourmet international cuisines and modernized Italian dishes.
This is a 5 star resort. The service makes you feel like you’re their only guest. Top of the line. The rooms are pristine and very clean. They have included breakfast that can be brought to your terrace that is fresh and delicious. Perfect for my elopement and honeymoon. They helped me get a bouquet for €75 and a private boat tour for €580. They also recommended me a photographer for €800. You get what you pay for, and we certainly got amazing service. They also have a restaurant that tastes Michelin star, €490 for private romantic dinner for 2. The only con is that it is a 30 min walk on a highway like rugged road (no sidewalks) from the ferry/train station. They can arrange taxis for you and taking one to the station, 3 minutes away, is €15. Thank you Lurde, front desk staff, dining staff, cleaning staff.

The property is absolutely beutiful, but what really elevates the experience to more than 5 stars was the service: the extremely caring receptionists, the cleaner who took notice of the smallest details in the room during turn-down, and the waiters at the restaurant. The dinner itself was also great. A wonderfull experience, highly recommended.

Our stay at Villa Lario Mandello was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was extraordinary — every aspect of the resort feels thoughtfully designed to make guests feel special and cared for. What truly stood out was the staff’s genuine dedication to going above and beyond. On our honeymoon, I casually mentioned craving a lasagna, even though it wasn’t on the menu. To my surprise, the team didn’t just apologize or suggest an alternative — they created a special order just for us. The dish was beautifully prepared and served with such warmth, turning what could have been a simple request into one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. That small gesture reflected the heart of Villa Lario Mandello: creating unforgettable moments. They made us feel celebrated, not just accommodated. If you’re looking for a place where luxury meets authenticity, where every detail is carefully curated, and where the staff treats your experience as uniquely yours, Villa Lario Mandello is truly in a class of its own. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a magical, once-in-a-lifetime stay.

A Beautiful Retreat on Lake Como, Marred by Significant Service and Privacy Lapses My husband chose the Villa Lario Resort in Mandello del Lario for a spectacular four-night stay to celebrate my 55th birthday, and the location overlooking Lake Como is truly breathtaking. This luxurious 5-star property is conveniently nestled near Lecco and Varenna, offering a peaceful and exclusive atmosphere. The Setting and Amenities We were delighted to stay in the largest villa, which featured a magnificent walkout balcony overlooking uninterrupted views of the lake. The grounds of the property are meticulously maintained, functioning as a private, quiet park. The resort offers high-end amenities, including a lakeside pool, a dock for private boat pickup, and even a dedicated landing area for helicopters. The complimentary full breakfast was an exceptional way to start each day. Initially, the staff were professional, friendly, and helpful, and we enjoyed dining in the restaurant for the first two nights before opting for more private dining in our villa for my birthday and our final morning. Issues Affecting Comfort and Privacy While the setting was idyllic, two specific issues severely impacted our experience, particularly given the rate of approximately $1,000 per night: 1. Room Condition, Severe Allergic Reaction, and Insufficient Remediation: The general condition of the high-priced villa was unacceptable. Not only did we notice torn leather furniture that was uncomfortable and unsuitable for a luxury room, but upon arrival, we also noticed a strong odor of cat urine. This issue was compounded by the fact that the residue caused me to experience a severe allergic reaction, resulting in watery eyes and congestion that required me to take medication for our entire four-night stay. When we reported the odor to the front desk, the issue was addressed merely by having housekeeping place an oil diffuser in the room to mask the smell, rather than fully cleaning or treating the source of the odor. The lack of proper sanitation, the visible disrepair, and the subsequent health impact were egregious, especially given the cost of the accommodation. 2. Egregious Violation of Privacy: The second issue was far more intrusive. While trying to enjoy a quiet birthday morning coffee on our private balcony, a photographer and the "non-paying guest" were actively conducting a commercial photo shoot on the resort property. The photographer then flew a drone directly over our balcony. I immediately called down to have the intrusion stopped, and it paused temporarily. However, the photographer quickly resumed flying the drone, a clear second violation of our privacy which I documented on my phone. It felt as though the non-paying guest had more liberties than we did as paying guests. As a paying guest, and having previous professional experience in the hospitality industry (Marriott), I recognize this as a serious violation of guest rights. I repeatedly requested to speak with a manager regarding both issues, but unfortunately, we never received a call back, a personal apology, or any attempt at service recovery from the management team. The lack of boundaries and priority given to the external photo shoot over the comfort of paying guests forced us to change our birthday plans and leave the property early that morning. Overall The Villa Lario Resort is a beautiful destination, offering immense natural beauty and stunning physical amenities. My husband provided a beautiful Italian getaway. However, the fundamental failures in guest services—failing to resolve significant sanitation and maintenance issues, and a gross mismanagement of a privacy violation—demonstrate a serious lapse in professional management that is unacceptable at this price point and star rating.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the Grigna suite in the "caves" in mid October. It was a beautiful, spacious room with a stunning view of the lake. Upon arriving we received a bottle of sparkling wine and some macrons, we immediately brought these up to the terrace on the main grounds, sat at a table and watched the rest of the day melt away with the stunning backdrop of the lake and mountains. The views from this place are amazing. The grounds of the Villa are beautiful and well maintained. The number of rooms also meant that we never felt over crowded which was a huge plus! The smaller, popular towns on the lake are jam packed with people everywhere, this villa serves as a perfect hub for making day trips out to the various towns and sights, or you could simply stay at the villa - its absolutely stunning with good food, drinks and views. The hotel staff will happily help you arrange transport around the lake, whether that be a helicopter (there is a landing pad), uber/taxi, or boat. You have to plan this with them in advance and give them some time to set it up. For a taxi, we asked them the night before we wanted to leave to Varenna and they arranged the car that night for pickup in the morning (keep in mind we stayed in mid October so not busy season). Varenna was about a ~10 minute drive. From there you can easily catch a ferry to the other major towns. Highly recommend setting up a private boat tour, either through the Villa or with "Taxi Boat Varenna" as we did. It really gives you a different view of the lake and all the beautiful villas. The grill and lounge restaurant at the Villa was very accommodating and the bartenders all made really good drinks. Highly recommend getting a Campari Spritz, sitting outside and enjoying the view. We also ate at the Amandus restaurant where we did the chef's special menu with wine pairing. While a bit pricey I think it was well worth it. Every plate was unique and flavorful and perfectly cooked. The staff were extremely attentive and moved like a well orchestrated and practiced symphony. It was quite impressive and very memorable. The food was also very filling and the drinks expertly paired! Breakfast in the morning was served at the Amandus restaurant. Dont miss out on the croissants and little pastries they put in front of you each morning - they are ALL really really good. The little town of Mandello Del Lario has some cute restaurants, a park, a train station, and a ferry station. One night we ended up taking a ferry from Bellagio to Mandello de lario and walking back to the hotel. The walk was very cute, found the restaurants, and a grocery store not too far from the villa. There is also a train station in the town. We took the train from Milan to Mandello Del Lario and walked to the hotel. We also used the train station one day to return from Varenna. Though, I would caution and not recommend walking from the train station to the villa with all your luggage - the sidewalks and whatnot are very small and its about a 20+ min walk - you can easily get a taxi or Uber. Overall we had an amazing time, this place is gorgeous, the food is great, the atmosphere welcoming and peaceful and the staff are friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would stay here again!

An absolute treasure on Lake Como. The staff are authenticity happy and friendly. The rooms are amazing. The view is amazing. With only ~8 rooms, it is a quiet heaven on the lake. I loved swimming on the lake from the private beach. Restaurant Amandus was spectacular. I cannot recommend this hotel more. A very special place.

We got the expensive desgutacione menu. It was not cheap, but it was 100% worth it - and comparison to Pujol, in Mexico city, it was a steal. We ate for four hours, left full, and the chef came out to meet us in the end. Everyone was amazing, the service was incredible. My only complaint is that we could not dock our Yacht in the harbor because it was in a lake. Please connect the lake to the ocean for us Yacht dwelling patrons. We had to drive for this vacation. Which is ridiculous. But, sad to say, was worth it. Bravo! 5 star! Trés bien! Maravilloso!

Absolutely incredible stay! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The boat ride arranged directly from the hotel was magical, and I especially loved the fun water slide, such a unique touch! The spa was beautiful and relaxing, and the views of Lake Lugano from all over the property were just breathtaking. I was also so impressed by the number and quality of restaurants on site. Every meal was amazing, and it was so convenient to have so many great options without leaving the property. What really made it special was the staff, they were so kind, welcoming, and thoughtful throughout my stay. The entire experience felt so luxurious and well curated. I’m already dreaming of coming back. Highly, highly recommend!

Wonderful stay in Aria. Quiet, private and peaceful. Lovely staff and the best suite we stayed in all of Italy. Amazing unspoilt views of Lake Lugano. The breakfasts were incredible. The in-room dining and Muse restaurant portion steak sizes at times were very small leaving us hungry but that’s a minor detail. I really wish they would consider changing the minimum age from 16 to 12 years old for the restaurant and pool.

Cannot recommend Aria enough! This place exceeded all of my expectations. Not only did they upgrade me to a penthouse suite upon arrival but they staff are so incredibly kind and attentive, they made it feel like a home away from home. The property is stunning and the spa services and amenities are outstanding. You're also able to enjoy the restaurants and other amenities on the San Marco property, which is great -- booked a private tennis lesson and enjoyed the beach/lakefront. The Aria does hospitality right!

We had the most spectacular stay at Aria as part of our honeymoon - it was utter paradise. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the most friendly, kind staff. They took time to get to know us and made our stay extra special. Matteo, Christian, Giuseppe, Alice, all the spa staff were just fantastic. Our room was equipped with beautiful amenities and was exceptionally clean, modern and spacious. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. Breakfast is served in the room and the selection was fantastic - special shout out the chefs for accommodating my vegan dietary needs. They went out of their way to make off-the-menu items. The spa was brilliant, with beautiful views of the lake and mountains from the sauna. The treatments were also top quality. The indoor and outdoor heated pools were great too. We ate at La Musa one evening and enjoyed every course. The setting is quiet and intimate. I would highly recommend booking one meal there during your stay. We will no doubt be returning! Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so special!

Residence la Limonera is a relaxed studio and apartment complex that offers 1- and 2-bedroom units with balconies or patios and kitchenettes. Guests can enjoy the spacious accommodations, which comfortably accommodate families of four with teenagers. The apartments provide stunning views of the lake, and guests can unwind on the rooftop terrace while savoring their own apertivo and charcuterie.
This place is right in the heart of Bellagio but is quiet and away from the bars and restaurants. The rooms are very high standard we appreciated the underfloor heating in November and the climate control. The kitchen could have benefited from a few more basics such as condiments and kitchen roll but overall very impressed highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Residence la Limonera. Our one bedroom apartment provided ample space for our family of four with teenagers. We had a gorgeous view over the lake, and we enjoyed our own apertivo and charcuterie from the shady rooftop terrace in the evenings. Located directly across the square from delicious gelato, fresh pasta, and cheese shops, and an easy walk everywhere else in town. We were able to make a parking reservation for their private garage by emailing directly. This worked very well for us, and their customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend and hope to return one day.

Very cute hotel with a great location at the top of the city with a nice courtyard to sit and relax. It sits directly amongst many restaurants and shops (in fact, you could have a pizza and a Aperol spritz 10 steps outside the gate, which we did). Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. If you are driving, there are three limited-time parking spaces directly in front of the property gate, so you can load or unload your suitcase before moving to a long-term spot(several minutes' walk minimum). Bear in mind that those parking spaces are at a midpoint of a ZTL, so when you leave, you don't know which direction has the right of way, so I waited until some cars passed and then pulled out and got behind them. Also, keep in mind that it's extremely tight and there're tons of pedestrians using the street when cars aren't coming, so you must pay close attention if you're trying to back out quickly to get behind the line of cars before the light turns green for the opposing line of cars. Based on my own experience, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Casa Olea Hotel is a carefully renovated abandoned vicarage located in the hamlet of San Vito di Cremia, just a short drive from Menaggio. The hotel offers easy access to ferry services to Bellagio, Tremezzo, Lenno, and Varenna. Additionally, it's conveniently close to Cremia's beach, known as one of Lake Como's finest spots for kite-surfing.
The hotel is in a good and quiet location, it is convenient for those who arrive by car to Lake Como and don't want to sleep in the touristy and noisy cities. There is parking for hotel guests. The hotel is specially renovated in a beautiful building. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the view from the room was stunning!! The staff was very nice and kind and gave us recommendations for restaurants and boat rentals on the lake. There is an excellent restaurant near the hotel. The breakfast was good and fresh. I want to point out that they helped us when my brother couldn't come on vacation at the last minute due to a medical problem and they brought a refund for his room and we really appreciated it. One thing I didn't like - the fabric of the towels was not pleasant. Overall, I highly recommend !

The renovation of the property has been done beautifully, blending modern comfort with authentic charm. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The hotel is located 20 meters from the lake shore. There are restaurants and bars nearby and you can go on a very nice walk along the shore path with a great view of the mountain and northern part of the lake. The hotel is modern and features an intricate design. The pool is beautiful. I had a small room with little light which was sufficient but I‘m sure the hotel has better rooms to offer. I booked short notice so no quarrel there. Staff was friendly and forthcoming. Breakfast is a la carte and very tasty with with a lot of nice options to choose from.

Beautiful hotel, peaceful and quiet with lovely views. There's a wonderful restaurant right next door so while you're not in the big popular towns, there's still things to do and places to explore (though you need to be aware getting to and from the hotel isn't the easiest, but there is a bus and some taxies in the area which should be booked in advance). Wonderful if you want something more quaint. The breakfast omelets made to order were delicious! And the staff was incredibly kind and helpful with directions and knowledge about the area! Highly recommend.

We chose Casa Olea to stay during the weekend of our wedding on Lake Como, and we couldn't have chosen a better place. A stone's throw from the lake with a breathtaking view, elegant rooms with a very romantic private spa for couples. We were able to relax after the stress of the organization and getting ready in their rooms and terraces was perfect. Not to mention Stefania and the attention she gave us to make us live the weekend fulfilling our every wish. Thank you Casa Olea, we will come back to celebrate our anniversaries!

On the shores of Lake Como with restaurants nearby. Parking is available for an extra charge. Breakfast was too artisan, rather than being substantial, but apart from this, it’s a great place to stay. The reception desk is almost never manned, which became a little annoying, but it is only a minor point.

My husband and I had the most amazing stay at this hidden gem! Away from the hustle and overcrowded Bellagio, this precious B&B was peaceful and a complete 5 star experience! We stayed for 4 nights in late September of 2024 and loved every moment. The room was cozy, always clean and had the most amazing view of the lake and the small creek/ waterfall running alongside the hotel. The property itself was like a picture out of a magazine offering scenic views of the lake and a peaceful oasis away from tourists. Even though the room was perfect, the views were breath taking - the 5 star achievement was earned by every member on staff. From the receptionists, the onsite chef, the grounds manager, and our wonderful waiter: they were the kindest staff we’ve ever encountered at a hotel. Each and every one of them went above and beyond for our requests (taxi arrangements, amazing personalized dinners, even sincere conversations) and so much more. My husband and I always stay on the outskirts of touristy cities where ever we travel and this B&B was more than what we had hoped for! I will forever recommend this hotel and I plan to make it my only hotel when I return to Lake Como in the future! *if you are planning to frequent Bellagio, email the sweet receptionists before your travel dates to book taxis in advance! During busy months, the few car services get booked up, but the staff got us taken care of! The bus was VERY easy to take from Bellagio to the B&B. The bus stop is a few steps from the hotel and about a 8 minute ride in total. Very easy to navigate!*

The villa’s breathtaking views are truly to die for, providing a serene escape just a short 7-minute drive from downtown Bellagio. It’s the perfect balance: close enough to enjoy the vibrant city center, yet far enough to offer complete tranquility. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible culinary experience. The private chefs created amazing breakfasts and dinners, delighting us with delicious, gourmet meals that added a touch of luxury to each day. The villa itself is a haven of peace and luxury. We spent countless hours by the stunning infinity pool, soaking in the panoramic views and enjoying the serene atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, making sure we felt at peace at every moment of our stay. Villa Mojana provided the perfect getaway for us. For a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and convenience, we highly recommend Villa Mojana. It made our stay unforgettable.

My wife and I will be dreaming about this place everyday of our lives waking up to the most breath taking views wishing we were here. The service is out of this world and the food is spectacular. From only a 15 minute bus ride to Bellagio, this place is everything you dream about. Thank you so much for hosting us.

We rented Villa Mojana for our wedding weekend and it was absolutely amazing! The views are breathtaking - each room has its own amazing view. The landscape is gorgeous and beautifully maintained. The heated infinity pool overlooking the lake and mountainside is perfect. Breakfast every morning on the outdoor terrace was phenomenal. We held our ceremony on the terrace & continued into the night with beautiful drinks and snacks. The Villas private chef made us a delicious 3-course dinner, which included one of the best things we ate while in Italy - slow cooked beef ragu with homemade pasta. The staff at Villa Mojana are extremely accommodating and hardworking. All I can say is WOW & thank you so much to Villa Mojana and their staff. We had the most amazing time here with our family and friends. If you’re looking to rent a private villa for an intimate event on Lake Como - this is your place!

Villa Mojana is a small cute boutique hotel. It’s very quiet and private but I would not stay here again due to location. Pros: The villa is very clean and modern with helpful staff. Wonderful lake views with a great pool looking over the lake. The restaurant had a nice included breakfast each morning. Dinner was very good where you could watch the exec chef cook your food from your table. Cons: Location was terrible. You can’t walk to anything, there is not even a sidewalk in front of the hotel. For how small the property is with a very very limited restaurant menu, it’s a huge con to not have any other restaurant options in walking distance. The restaurant was nice but you could only eat here one night - there were 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, 2 entrees and 2 desserts on the entire menu and it did not change, it was the same each night. Another thing I wish we would have known is how challenging taxis are. They are by no means guaranteed and you have to work with the front desk to secure them in advance every single time you want to go in and out of town. Plus the reception closes at 9pm so if you need a taxi after that, you may have a problem. On top of that, the taxis are minimum 30euro each way for the 10 min drive to the town of Bellagio. Generic taxis like other cities in Italy do not exist here. We arrived via the Lecco train station and opted to take the bus to the stop the hotel had said (limonta) which was 20 feet from the villa entrance but again, NO sidewalk. We had to sprint across the windy busy road with our luggage praying to not be hit by a car while walking the side of the road. You CANNOT stay at this property without renting a car and even with that, I’m not sure it’s worth it since it seemed pretty challenging to find parking in downtown Bellagio. It’s a shame because the property is very beautiful but the location was really horrible. My husband and I both agreed we would not stay here again and would opt to stay in one of the towns like Bellagio or Varenna with walkability.

Villa Mojana is an absolute gem of a place! All the hotel staff are super helpful, and kind. The views from the rooms are stunning, beds are super comfortable for a good night sleep, and the interior design of the place is modern yet relaxing. The daily breakfast was really nourishing. We loved our stay and wished we could’ve stayed longer!
Charmian W — Google review
I feel so lucky we had the opportunity to stay here! What an absolutely stunning place! I wanted to stay forever. The staff is so warm, friendly and helpful. The views are next level. The style of the Villa is exactly the vibe you would imagine while staying on Lake Como. The room (rustic with balcony) was so cozy. I love that there are only a few rooms on the property, it makes it more intimate. Throughout our stay, we tried the breakfast, lunch and dinner; which were all very simple, but delicious meals. It’s very nice to have the option of swimming in the pool or at the beach which is a 7 minute walk (don’t forget your water shoes!). We didn’t end up renting a car in Italy, so we arrived by ferry and getting to the hotel was very easy. (Keep in mind that the whole area is mountainous and you will have to be walking up stairs or hills wherever you go.) The location in Limonta was also perfect for us. We travelled by ferry to all of the places we wanted to see and had a great time. Thanks to everyone at Villa Mojana!

The Casa Santo Stefano bed and breakfast in Cernobbio, Italy features beautiful accommodation with stunning views of the lake and town of Como. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with elegant furnishings, and the property also includes a honesty bar for guests to enjoy a drink or bite to eat. The breakfast is delicious and the hosts are very attentive. This is an ideal location for a relaxing getaway.
This place far exceeded our expectations. They used to run it as a B&B, renting out individual rooms, but now they rent out the whole place. It's huge, beautiful, and well maintained. The views are nothing short of spectacular. It was also fully stocked with food, drinks, snacks, anything you need. The manager, Adel, is extremely friendly and answers on WhatsApp very quickly. We didn't happen to have any problems during our stay that required their assistance, but I don't doubt that everything would have been taken care of very quickly. There are a couple of decent restaurants and shops within walking distance, but you probably want to have a car to explore the area. (Don't miss Il Gatto Nero and Materia - both in Cernobbio!) The good news is that you can probably comfortably park 3-4 cars at the property. We will definitely be back! Don't miss this place!

Como San Giovanni is a convenient location in the city center, close to historic and shopping areas as well as the main train station. It's easy to explore the city by car, with rental pick-up and drop-off locations available at Como San Giovanni Train Station. The ticket office at the railway station is open daily for purchasing tickets, or they can be bought online or from various outlets within the station.
As we left the Lake Como area, we decided to take the train from Como San Giovanni to Milano Centrale. This was our first time traveling on an Italian train and using their system. The Trainline App was used to book the tickets and obtain boarding passes. We had the first train out in the morning, it left at 5:19 am. We arrived at the station at 4:40 am, not knowing when the station opened. We discovered the station does not open until 5 am. The station was very clean, the train routing and platform information signage was easy to read, and the area well lit with lights. We had an easy time finding our platform, identifying our train and getting our ticket validated (done after we boarded). I hope that if you decide to travel that this review helps make your travel a little bit better, and that your experience is as good or better than mine.
Geo-T22 P — Google review
Pretty standard Italian train station on the hill above Lake Como. Very small with only two tracks. Standard signage, kiosk ticket service, a small cafe and newsstand, no lockers.
Angelo S — Google review
We stayed overnight in Lake Como and thus used the train station twice. It was very easy to find. Platforms are clearly marked and right train was very easy to find. The station was very clean, we didn’t see any trash whatsoever. We also felt very safe walking at and around the station. It is a small station, so services are limited. Great experience overall.
Timo H — Google review
You have to pay for toilets and the cafes are closed so you can’t even get any change so make sure you have one euro. The lifts are small and odd platform layout
Maria B — Google review
If it were possible to give less than one star, I would. The train is so overcrowded that passengers are squeezed in and forced to stand all the way to the doors, with no regard for seating or ticketing arrangements. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of consideration for your passengers. This issue needs urgent attention.
Lully K — Google review
Person responsible for direction markings and generally for overall information on the station is absolutely incompetent. So misleading and idiotic train station info I have never seen in my whole life. It's a tourist destination for God sake. I don't know if it's not better to just rip off that laminated paper crap, and toss it into trash bin. More over its a small station, how hard is that. Actually it's a craft to mislead with info on such a little train station.
Edwin V — Google review
The experience was truly delightful. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning scenery surrounding the station. The lake and mountains created a picturesque backdrop, setting the perfect tone for a memorable stay. The station itself was well-maintained and had a pleasant ambiance. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the arrival and departure process smooth and efficient. The convenience of various transportation options nearby made exploring the area hassle-free. During my time in Como San Giovanni, I had the opportunity to explore the charming town and its many attractions. The historical architecture, narrow streets, and vibrant cafes added to the overall charm. The highlight, of course, was the beautiful Lake Como, offering breathtaking views and serene boat rides. I particularly enjoyed the local cuisine, indulging in delicious Italian dishes and authentic gelato. The culinary experiences in Como San Giovanni were simply delightful and added a special touch to the visit. Overall, my stay at Como San Giovanni was wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit the area. The combination of stunning natural beauty, warm hospitality, and cultural richness made it an unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to return and create more cherished memories in this enchanting destination.
Fizzy B — Google review
The train station is surprisingly small considering how busy it can get and how popular Como is. You're really only going to see a few rail options outside a small interior. There are some basic amenities here like a ticket stand, convenience store, and toilet. Prices into this station are thankfully cheap but expect the trains to get full fast and be fairly busy, especially on weekends.

There's also a lush Mediterranean garden and a swimming pool with an unforgettable view, making it one of our favorite hotels.
This hotel was incredible from start to finish. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The staff—especially at reception—were beyond amazing, so kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. The views of Lake Como were stunning, and the daily breakfast offered a great variety of options. We also loved the convenient shuttle into town. Truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Can’t recommend it enough!

Everything was amazing. I could not be more happy about our stay. The location was perfect and the views were phenomenal. The staff was very kind and helpful and always reachable by Whatsapp. The room was comfortable, stocked with water for us daily and complimentary wine when we arrived. The food was really good, both the breakfast and the bistro options. The pool was perfect after a long day of travel. San Giovanni was easily reachable by the stone path/stairs and Bellagio was quickly reachable by hotel's shuttle service. We enjoyed staying in more than going out because everything was just so great + the views were easily the best in Bellagio. 10/10 ⭐ I hope I can come back and stay here again in the future.

What a gem! Located about 15 minutes by car from downtown (or 40 minute walk), this charming hotel has friendly staff, sweeping views, beautiful rooms and add-on amenities like included breakfast, shuttle to downtown Bellagio (for a fee), small onsite bar for meals, a parking lot and a pool. We reserved a room with a wrap around terrace - it was a perfect place to rest with a book overlooking a beautiful view. The only reason you would not book here is if you wanted to be in the downtown area. We arrived by train into Lecco and took a taxi to the hotel (pricey but there were some issues with the trains and easier than the bus with luggage). Highly recommend!

Borgo Le Terrazze is an absolute gem in Bellagio. The location is perfect—peaceful and scenic, yet only a few minutes from the center of town. The views from the property are simply spectacular, overlooking the stunning expanse of Lake Como. The hourly shuttle service to and from the city center was a total game-changer, making it super easy to explore Bellagio without any hassle. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were modern, well-appointed, and offered everything you’d expect from a high-quality boutique hotel. The pool and outdoor seating areas are an experience of their own—relaxing, quiet, and offering some of the best views you’ll find anywhere on the lake. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lake Como—you won’t want to leave!

The view is absolutely insane. Service and staff are amazing. Rooms are nice. The shuttle to town is life-saver. Overall we loved our time here and would recommend to anyone staying in the area. As a wheelchair user, also major kudos for having such good accommodations in a notoriously inaccessible region.

We are finishing our Italian trip in Lake Como and booked a room. First the property is in a magnificent location overlooking Bellagio and Lake Como. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with our rental and they were very kind offering to translate and help us. All with a smile and elegant Italian hospitality. The shuttle service down to town was always on time and very easy to use, the room was very clean and the view is stunning and the staff made this a five star stay

My favorite part of this hotel is the owner, she is absolutely amazing, she is very sweet, and she will make you feel right at home.

The villa boasts stunning halls adorned with frescoes and stucco work, along with an exquisite Italian garden featuring beautiful flower beds. It serves as an ideal venue for weddings, accommodating up to 130 guests with the option of marquee rental.

Villa Sola Cabiati is the embodiment of Italianità—a place where heritage, artistry, and romance are seamlessly woven into its magnificent walls. While the villa itself is a masterpiece of elegance, what truly sets it apart is its impeccable staff. Their dedication to preserving and sharing the villa’s legacy is remarkable; they operate at the highest levels of luxury hospitality, yet with a warmth and passion that make every guest feel truly welcome. The Stucco Room is among the most breathtaking spaces I have ever stepped into—an exquisite showcase of intricate craftsmanship and timeless beauty. Having visited many Italian villas, I can confidently say that Villa Sola Cabiati is one of my absolute favorites. It is grand yet intimate, majestic yet deeply inviting. From the very moment you step onto the grounds, you are transported into another world—a world of refined beauty, history, and la dolce vita. Every corner of this storied villa is a tribute to artistry, heritage, luxury, and the effortless charm of Italy. Here I photographed S&D’s wedding, which was an unforgettable experience. To this day, their gallery remains one of my all-time favorites—a testament to the magic that unfolds within these walls.

I have just photographed a beautiful 3-day spring wedding here, the location is the epitome of luxury with the most incredible views of Lake Como. The venue interiors are as dreamy and as magnificent as their surroundings. This venue is a photographers delight to work in. NH Lecco Pontevecchio is a charming and contemporary hotel offering stunning views of Lake Como. Located just 100 meters from the lake, it provides easy access to Lecco's historic center and the train station. The rooms feature classic furnishings with neutral colors, creating a cozy atmosphere. Guests can enjoy terrace dining with river views, a cocktail bar, and spacious, clean rooms. While the hotel offers excellent staff service and great food options, parking may be limited.
This hotel was so nice and the breakfast was ELABORATE and Delicious. Breads, sweets, meats, cheeses, unlimited espressos, and more. Greeted every time we entered without fail. I was running late for the day and missed cleaning and they came back after I left and still cleaned the room (without me asking), which was so sweet and rare. It’s very close to the water and can take the back exit out and walk all the way to the main Lake. Would definitely stay again. Felt safe and cozy.

Quiet setting near the old bridge. Only 10 mins from railway station (& that would be one of the furthest walks) so very accessible even with luggage. Easy to walk into town which has a lovely quayside. Brilliant for access to trips on Lake Como. Hotel is very businessy. No bar seating area which felt strange. Breakfasts excellent.

We booked a room for three people, but one person didn't show up. The man at the front desk said he couldn't give us a room because he couldn't find that person's name. I even provided him with my booking number and the passports of the other two people, but he still insisted he couldn't give us a room. I was shocked. 🫢 After 40 minutes of emailing and communicating with the booking company, we were finally allowed to check into the room. However, he gave us the room card without saying anything, including the hotel's Wi-Fi password and whether there was free water in the room. When we checked out, we were told we had to pay 9 euros for three bottles of water for both rooms. I felt really bad for this staff's lack of professionalism.😔

Not a 4 star hotel. Restaurant was closed on Saturday night. Welcome drink was like mouthwash. No coffee or water pot in room. Small bottle of water in room, three Euro please. Management is saving €20 a day by using cheap stuff for breakfast buffet. Come on man.
