The 25 best breakfast and brunch in Lake Como

We stopped by for an aperitivo and were a bit disappointed with the Aperol Spritz. The balance was off — it felt like too much Aperol, very little (if any) Prosecco, and the flavor just didn’t feel right. It tasted more like white wine with Aperol than a proper spritz. That said, the snacks were quite good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Might be worth visiting for the food, but the drinks could use improvement.

Panino Buono in Como appears to be an excellent choice for enjoying both delicious food and a vibrant atmosphere. I had the pleasure of watching the Como versus Lazio match there, and the multiple televisions and impressive sound system truly created an immersive experience. The staff's efficiency and friendliness contributed to the lively ambiance, and the food was not only excellent but also provided great value. Its convenient location near the train station makes it an ideal spot for a meal, whether one is interested in watching a game or simply seeking a quality dining experience in Como.

A great cafe near the center of Como with actually good food and drinks. We’ve ordered a tomato, basil and mozzarella club sandwich, a panini with meat and coffee. And let me tell you, that was pretty tasty! The food was served fast, there are also outdoor tables and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend checking this place out. If you think my review is biased, think again. Visit it, and you’ll love it!

We had a great experience watching the football match between FC Como and Juventus. The prices were quite reasonable for this kind of entertainment. Everything was great, nothing to complain about. Friendly staff.

We were walking around Como and found this place. Nice music, atmosphere. We ordered Panini and Aperol. In general, it was good, the usual snack. Unfortunately, they forgot to bring an aperitivo to Aperol until we reminded. We paid about 50€ for food.

Just wanted a Nice burger after a week of pizza and pasta. Here they delivered above expectations. Was a perfect burger with matching Fries. Cocktails were good as well.

Went there on 14 February, almost evening. The place is not so small n not so big. It's pretty comfy and well decorated. I went there because of a tv show tbh. Maybe cause it's late so the pasticcini aren't complete. Not so much available. But it's ok til I tried it and I thought the taste is just so-so... Not bad but not the best I've ever taste. Anyway it's worth it to give it a try. Nice ambiance tho.

Very nice shop I happened upon while walking through this wonderful hamlet. The staff was very kind and friendly and happy to work through our language barrier to explain the different offerings and make sure we enjoyed our selections. Pastries and drinks were delicious and prices were very reasonable. Found some very unique treats. Well worth the visit. Will return again.

I go there everyday for breakfast and coffee. I had lunches, early dinners, panini and aperitivos and everytime it was excellent. I especially love their seasonal cakes and sweets, like the Christmas Veneziana or the Kranz. They are the best in town!

You need to come here! Their portions are huge. I took LACTOSE FREE coperta grande and shared it with my husband. So, so good. So many extra toppings to choose. I would come back to Lecco even only for this frozen yogurt.

Sahil welcome us with open arms to this charming pizzeria along the coast of Lake Como and I can’t recommend enough the piccata pizza with salami on it because it was just spicy enough to be utterly fantastic. do not use the bathroom facilities, unless you are very brave and maybe blind. There’s no category for that so that would get one out of five stars. But the food is fantastic and the staff is even better.

Good for a snack or a quick meal. Nothing fancy just paper plates and a pretty view of the lake we had two delicious gin and tonics the caprese salad and the nachos which were very good. Also great parking just opposite

Stopped here for a quick coffee. Got a cappuccino. It was OK. Burned coffee taste but tolerable. The service was quick and good. The location is fantastic just off the major shopping street. The ambiance is OK with some outdoors seating. While the inside may seem tight, it has some great character. It's a good quick stop. Worth it.

Two iced caffe lattes (small) and 2 very small pastries were 19 euro's because they had the audacity to charge us 7 euro's per coffee. They also didn't specify the coffee on the bill so it was a tourist scam. I have visited Como many times and I have never seen prices like this before. I even showed it to my cousins who live here and they were also in shock. Such a shame that they scam you, I would've actually liked to come back.

Ordered an Americano expecting to get an espresso shot with added water. What I got absolutely did not taste like that but rather like an old batch of perhaps filtered coffee tasting on par or worse than the one you'd get at the school cafeteria that's been standing for 5 hours.

This place does not exist anymore. The one there now is a scam. Charges prices out of the menu to tourists and serves watery coffee, disgusting. An americano was 4€ and practically only water. Staff is rude. Places like this make me sick. Avoid.

Everything was delicious and worth it! Great atmosphere and a variety of sweet and savory options. My personal favourite was the maritozzo (super fluffy and light best pastry I had on my trip to Milan/Como still wish I could get it where I live) and the ice cream from Italian lemons🍋

If I had the chance I wouldn't leave even one star!!!! Extremely poor service from the staff, including the manager of the establishment. After we waited patiently in line to order ice cream and sit in the establishment, the woman selling it snapped at us that we couldn't take it "home" and stay in the establishment, after which they seated us, but in the next 20 minutes no one came to take our order. After more than 20 minutes, we managed to order and after more than another 20 minutes, they brought us ice cream that had melted to a state where it could be consumed as a liquid drink. We called the manager, who said that it was completely normal to serve you ice cream in the form of a liquid drink, and his behavior was beyond criticism! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Walked past this little place in the morning and found lots of locals here having their coffee. There were lots of variety and the drinks and pastry are good.

Everything we tasted was excellent. Cappuccino is great. It is a small pastry shop where locals come for breakfast. It has an inside and outside sitting area.

We stumbled upon Café del Pess while walking through Menaggio, and it turned out to be the perfect spot to slow down and soak in the charm of Lake Como. Sitting outside, right on the main square, you get the most gorgeous view — colorful buildings behind you, the lake in front of you, and mountains in the distance. It honestly feels like you’re inside a painting 🎨💙. The coffee was smooth and rich, the pastries were fresh and delicious (especially the jam-filled cookies and the slice of cake we tried), and the vibe was so relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you could sit for an hour without realizing it — just watching the quiet rhythm of the town and the glimmer of the lake. The service was friendly, and although it’s in a prime location, it didn’t feel overly touristy or rushed. If you’re in Menaggio, I definitely recommend stopping here — whether for breakfast, a sweet treat, or just to enjoy la dolce vita with a cappuccino in hand. ☀️🇮🇹

Finally a healthy salad after eating too much pizza and pasta in Italy! Delicious, nice service, lakeside atmosphere was gorgeous! Only downside for us was smokers on the outside dining, but that’s to be expected here in Italy I guess!

Came in for a quick breakfast. Cappuccino and croissants are pretty typical of Italy. Prices are affordable and views are stunning. Just note you cannot take away croissants, you have to sit in.

There is no other place where I can enjoy Menaggio as much as in the Cafè Del Pess. The view of the promenade, the lake, and the hustle and bustle of Piazza Garibaldi is wonderful. The food is surprisingly good (... for a café), the Aperol Spritz is tasty, and the prices are moderate for this location. If you're lucky, you'll meet Piero, the soul of the café, whose warm manner and humor we've enjoyed since our first visit to Menaggio 20 years ago. The service can seem a little cool and distant — what else would you expect with the masses of visitors from all over the world who regularly act like "God" just because they've ordered a cappuccino. And hey, remember, we're still in northernmost Italy! :) But try a smile and a sincere "Gracie," and you'll find that the ice shell melts very quickly. My rating: always worth a visit and a must for every visitor to Menaggio.

We came here for a quick drink before heading back to the ferry and decided to have cakes as well. The torta de limon con crema was delicious. Overall a nice place to chill near the water.

two stars just bcause the service & ambience is satisfying, food was way too overpriced, imo not worth the price unfortunately, was expecting it to be better for 12€ 🥲 asked for pancake w fruits but only comes with 2 cut strawberries & not even half a banana was given, I had to ask the waitress for syrup too. Same goes to the 12€ french toast topped w only caramel sauces… really wished the food could be better at least matched up w the services and ambience given 🙏

One of the sweetest places I’ve ever been, it feels just like home. Everything we ate was so delicious. Babi is such an attentive and hospitable woman. I highly recommend everyone passing through Como to stop by, even just for a coffee.

Great service, lovely food, really polite staff - cost us 57 euro for 2 plates of pink pancakes, 1 plate of french toast and a portion of scrambled eggs, as well as 3 waters and 1 orange juice, really good value for money, and the interior was amazing! What an amazing breakfast spot. Very aesthetic and trendy cafe set in a boutique store with a delicious breakfast. They have tons of gluten free options including pancakes, eggs, and toast. Very knowledgeable about the allergy and cook everything separately. The avocado toast and scrambled eggs were both excellent, fresh, and light. One of the most beautiful and heartwarming places I’ve visited in Como! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming you could feel the love in everything, from the food to the atmosphere. A smaller café in Bellagio at the lake Cuomo. The shakerato was average, the cappuccino quite delicious. Service was average, the atmosphere okay.

A notable breakfast place in Lake Como. Plenty of seats outside so you can have coffee with a nice view! Ours had cars blocking it so that’s a minus-1 haha. But cornetto and coffee were good, pancakes- nothing special😊 Overall a great place to start before a whole day of getting around Como.

The place is nice but the waiters are very rude and not helpful at all. The chocolate croissant was a fraud and they were not ready to listen to our opinion. I do not recommend coming here.

We had a great lunch. Gnocchi pesto and lasagna. The homemade gnocchi was excellent and the lasagna was great as well. If you’re in Montessori you have to eat here.

They had a very kind and welcoming staff. We came in with about an hour until close, so they didn’t have their full menu, but the cannelloni definitely hit the spot. One of the few places that we found in Moltrasio that has larger portions. Great convenient location as well.

Small café restaurant , not on the lake side but with a nice sunny terrace. Offers very low prices compared to the restaurants nearby. Correct food: pasta, piati, sandwiches, icecreams. Service a bit slow.

My absolute favorite place I visited in Italy. Such incredible huge choice of everything and all is FRESH! It’s very popular and busy too, so if you want to sit just find a table and staff will come to you with menu. But if you want something from counter (so many pastries..) better take a picture to show it to waitress 😌 The staff was very patient and friendly , if you can’t decide how you want your focaccia they can make 2 different halves, build your own. Have prosecco, hot chocolate, coffee, brioche anything.. big choice and everything tastes amazing. I ordered a lot so it was pricey - otherwise prices are very fair especially for town close to Como! Would love to come back.

My favorite way to start the day in the Cernobbio area. What an outstanding bakery with the local Lombardian special cookies and pastries and outstanding focaccia sandwiches. Indoor seating, a delightful outdoor garden where dogs are welcome and gelato too. The staff are accommodating and kind. Don’t miss this place and try the Venezia pastry for sure! I love the one with pistachio cream.

The perfect stop in Torno in Lake como. A lovely restaurant and cafe with an awesome service. Pizza is an italian yummy authentic pizza. Had a panini Mozerlla and Anchovies that was a perfect snack. And ended with a lovely kick from an Espersso cup. The view is more than amazing 👏🏻 🤩

We ate here for dinner two nights out of four during our stay in Torno. We had the mushroom risotto, the ham and artichoke pizza, the wurst sausage with mustard, and the eggplant parmigiana. Everything was tasty and the service was excellent. They have a fun playlist of Motown music, which we enjoyed. We sat inside since the patio seating held a lot of smokers.

We ate dinner at B&B Bar Italia multiple times during our stay in Torno but did not stay at the B&B (hotel) so I cannot speak to the rooms. However, the restaurant on the first floor was lovely and very affordable! THE FOOD: we had an entire 3 course meal including a bottle of wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert for about 50 euros. The house wine was super affordable and actually great and I’m pretty picky about wine. Like many little Italian cafes, you get free appetizers or “bar snacks” with your cocktails and this restaurant gave us potato chips and bread with toppings. The food was good quality for the price and there were lots of options on the menu including salads, pasta entrees (spaghetti, lasagna etc) and pizza entree. For dessert the restaurant had of different ice cream Sunday options and a daily tart. THE VIBES: this is a super casual little restaurant with a couple tables inside but the real appeal here is the outdoor patio, which has an amazing view of the lake. They have about 6 tables outside and they do take reservations and on the weekend in August they were pretty booked up, it was hard to get a table! I noticed tons of Italian locals gathering with friends here, so can assume this is a spot the locals enjoy. I also noticed British, French, German & American tourists including several couples on dinner dates and families with children. People chatted loudly and it was great people watching which we enjoyed. THE SERVICE: the waitresses were friendly young ladies who spoke English to us, and the manager was extremely helpful in making space for us. I was happy to bring my business back repeatedly.

⸻ I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant in Bellagio. The food was not tasty at all, and the service was unfriendly and unhelpful. We wanted to share one dish between two people, but the staff refused and told us it was against the restaurant’s policy — one dish per person, which felt unreasonable and inflexible. On top of that, they added a service charge of €4 per person to the bill, which meant €16 for four people, and the service definitely did not deserve it. Overall, the atmosphere was unpleasant, the food was poor, and the pricing policy felt unfair. I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting Bellagio.

SETA feels like a restaurant mainly for tourists — it was very busy when we arrived. We went in because it was cold outside and the place looked lively. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, truly the highlight of our visit. However, the food was quite ordinary and didn’t really offer an authentic Italian experience. Overall, it’s a decent place for a quick meal with excellent service, but not memorable for the food.

Terrible tourist trap with ridiculous prices. Service was decent, but the food was horrible. We had risotto, carbonara, bolognese and salads. The pastas were all watery and fatty, with no seasoning. The salads were old and greasy. We started off being given stale 3-day old bread. That should have been our sign to leave. Definitely avoid this place.

The Hotel is spectacular, located in the center of Bellagio. Very close to all transportation like the hydrofoil and bus. The workers are friendly and willing to assist with anything. My wife left her kindle behind and they were able to assist us by shipping it to our next destination. I am very grateful for them and really enjoyed my time here in Bellagio at hotel SETA. 10/10 would recommend.

This was the worst restaurant experience of our entire trip to Italy. The pasta was tasteless, the carbonara especially bad, and prices were higher than average. Staff were rude and uninterested, even asking us to wait outside while the restaurant had many empty tables. The only nice thing was the view, but the food and service were truly awful. Definitely the worst place we visited in Italy — don’t waste your time here. Rip off

I recently had breakfast and dinner at Seta Hotel’s restaurant. The food was just average for both meals, with the pancakes being a slight standout—light and fluffy, but nothing extraordinary. The staff, however, were incredibly welcoming and attentive, which stood out compared to the occasionally unfriendly service at other places in town. Seta’s cozy and inviting atmosphere makes it an okay choice for a meal, but the cuisine doesn’t particularly shine. Worth a visit for the friendly service if you’re nearby.

Visited for a quick breakfast. My partner and I were served what looked and tasted like packaged croissants from a supermarket, as well as an omelette. The atmosphere was not welcoming, with waiters walking around with scowls. When the bill arrived it was completely wrong, when brought to their attention they took it away but the new bill was not correct either. Would recommend finding a more local place where you won’t get ripped off.

Our waitress was fast enough, but unfortunately she was very unmotivated and not particularly friendly. Other than that our coffees were good, and the bruschetta we shared was okay. I’d probably come here again for the location and views, but that’s about it, unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♀️

The appeal of this spot is the tables right on the lake with beautiful views took soak up the sun. Take a seat and a server will come to you for your order. Sandwiches were very average, but again, this place is about the atmosphere. They serve coffee and alcohol as well.

Worst lasagna I’ve ever had. Bad flavour. Flaccid noodles with tomato sauce and broiled cheese. I’ve had better frozen lasagna. It took 45 minutes to get it.

Sisters was by far the best dining experience I had in Italy so far. The Gnocchi is to die. And out of the 8 places I tried on this trip, they have the best aperol spritz. The owners are so so lovely and helpful, giving recommendations of things to do in the area and going above and beyond. Over all an amazing spot

Such a cute cafe! Absolutely loved it. Went here a few times during my stay in Lierna with my friends and we all loved it. The food is okay but the drinks are really good! I once had a coffee with Nutella and it tasted to good... The atmosphere is also good, very friendly. I came here once on Saturday and there were more people at the cafe, especially locals who my group interacted with, they were all very nice and welcoming and even told us a little bit about Lierna and good places to visit in Italy!

Sisters Cafe was a delight to visit for our stay in Varenna. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, the best foccacia we ate across our whole trip. The kids enjoyed the pancakes. The coffee was lovely. I would highly recommend a visit to this cafe.

We found this gem when we accidentally ended up in Lierna when we took the wrong train. We had about 2 hours until the ferry came so we decided to stay and eat brunch. The focaccia pizza was incredible. The owner also recommended the croissant with a cream filling that her brother came up with. Everything was delicious and well executed. This cute little café was charming and has a very homey-local feel. Please come by if you ever find yourself in Lierna!

Delicious authentic paninis with a lot of different options. Seems like a local spot where many local workers were eating. Way more recommended to eat there than the other over priced restaurants nearby that aren’t even very good. Service was great too and there are tables outside where you can sit and eat.

This is where we used our breakfast vouchers from nearby Fio&Gio. After we got our complementary Cappuccino and pistachio cornetti-one of us chose muesli, we went back to our accommodation and sat on the roof terrace; although, Al Barilott is located in a small piazza where you sit at an outside table and enjoy views of a nearby church and clock tower, as well as Lake Como and the mountains surrounding the lake. The ladies running the place were so gracious and helpful, and they also had a delicious looking homemade jam filled cake. If we had stayed longer than one night, I could see returning here another day.

Lovely little community bar with lots of families and dogs gathered near a church, a lovely ambience and great food and drinks. For a Friday afternoon it was busy which of course is to be expected, however it was over half an hour wait for two drinks so possibly they are short staffed. There is a very local and community feel which is fantastic while outside, but feels very hostile from the staff if you are not a local. This could be simply a language barrier, however on ordering or on paying our bill we were not made to feel welcome at all.

Lovely bar with friendly hosts. We will return for sure.

We had a really nice ice-cream here. The selection of flavors is small but very traditional and good for my taste. I would have liked the place more if the volume of the television set on the F1 Grand Prix had not been so loud. Going outdoors meant being too close to the main road, which is not super nice either. I have not been living in Italy for quite a few years but the prices for 1 scoop felt a bit too much on the high side, especially considering the location a bit in the middle of a random village that had plenty of camping places.

Great bar right outside the campsite we stayed at. Friendly owner and the beer and food was excellent. The waitress even smiled on our last night which was a first 😁
