Steak house
Cowboys & Angels Restaurant and Bar offers a delightful blend of Southern and Western cuisine in a laid-back setting. The family-owned establishment serves up favorites like cowboy burgers, chicken-fried steak, and Southern classics such as fried green tomatoes and collard greens. With an extensive menu featuring appetizers, soups, sandwiches, burgers (including the popular Bison Burger), steaks, pork chops, seafood, shrimp and grits, there's something for everyone.
Great restaurant! Loved the atmosphere. The live music was REALLY good! Our server Lacey was very attentive and did a great job for us. The food was excellent! I would recommend the sweet corn hush puppies, Gouda Mac and cheese and the steaks. I had the city slicker New York strip and it was cooked perfectly. Great selection of beers, mixed drinks and a decent wine list. I’ll definitely eat here again next time I come to Helen

Stopped at Cowboys & Angel’s opening Saturday of Oktoberfest in Helen, GA 2025. So understandably they were busy, but we were able to snag a spot at the bar. Kaylee behind the bar was great. The bar seating is near the kitchen so watching the whole team work together to get through the rush was eye opening. I loved my nachos. The spice was on point and the ground steak was delicious. Flour tortillas were fried in house, queso was good, best meal I’ve had in Helen so far this weekend. My friends review who got the pork belly sando: Pork belly sandwich, Was sweet and salty, perfectly cooked. With middle was soft, the edges of the meat were crispy with a smokey taste. Overall it was good, the bun took over some of the taste so I ended up just eating the insides of the sandwich. 6.7/10

Helen is typically a difficult place for me to find food options because of my dietary restrictions, but we came here after receiving a glowing recommendation about this restaurant’s extended courtesy in accommodating restrictions. Wanting something small but refreshing on a particularly hot day, I got the two sides of the Hush Puppies and Sliced Vine Ripe Tomatoes. Everything was fantastic! And the prices were an especially wonderful standout factor for how much food I got - the Hush Puppies were $4, and the Sliced Tomatoes were $5. If anything, the wait time to be seated / attended to was quite long, but they were very busy with the number of patrons already present. Completely understandable, especially during Oktoberfest at Helen!
Shreya R — Google review
The food was delicious and very filling. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. There was only a 10 minute wait, even thought it was very busy. I hope we will be able to come again soon! I would've added more photos... but it's gone. It was that good!!
Darlene C — Google review
We very much enjoyed dining here while on a visit to Helen, GA. The food was delicious. I had the bison chili app and the shrimp and grits. Being from the New Orleans area, I was kind of hesitant about trying shrimp and grits, but it was phenomenal! My husband had the pork belly app and the Sticky Belly burger. He loved both! Our server was Allison who was also phenomenal and very sweet! We will definitely be back on our next visit.
Angela G — Google review
Hear me out, the food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. My boyfriend got the Elk steak it was flavorful but the Gouda Mac was horrible. The Scallops were delicious with asparagus and the collard greens had SO much depth and flavor. The cocktails was what made me upset. $10 for the key lime martini was outrageous and it was disappointing. Heather was a great server and the atmosphere was cool. This location is more an adult atmosphere than for kids But they are welcome of course.
Sarah — Google review
I read the back of the menu about how this place got its start and their expectations. Those words can be easy to simply put on the back of the menu but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The ribeye was the best that I’ve had in quite a while and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the filet and the same was true for her meal. No regrets! In the words of Arnold, “I’ll be back”! I failed to mention that our server, BJ, was awesome as well. Highly recommended

Fabulous spot. Sat outside under the heaters for lunch and it was very comfortable. It’s early November with the fall leaves so beautiful in the area and a crisp breeze in the air. The weather is perfect for sitting outside to eat. Sweet tea is fabulous here. So good. I got half and half and it was still delicious. Not too sweet I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese. They were very generous with the cheese - lots of melted cheese. I took that off and ate it by itself The chicken piece was huge. I could only eat half of it It came with French fries that were also good Nice and crisp and not greasy. My husband ordered the bleu cheese hamburger which looked so good too. It had the right amount of blue cheese. He said it was very good. Came with fries or coleslaw which they were out of but no matter, he wanted fries anyway Service was wonderful. Very friendly. Price was reasonable Atmosphere fabulous. Not too crowded at the time we were there.

Nestled beneath a bridge by the Chattahoochee River, The Troll Tavern offers a casual and scenic dining experience. This riverfront pub is renowned for its German-inspired menu, featuring dishes like Bavarian Pretzel and Bratwurst Burger. Guests can savor an array of flavorful selections including nachos, wraps, seafood, and steak while enjoying picturesque views of the river from the outdoor patio.
Our food was amazing. Drinks even more so. Service was impeccable!!! Our waiter was body very patient and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely have to come back. We got the goblin burger, chicken fingers as well as the German Chocolate martini. . . Made with one of the best coconut rums I've ever tasted. The bar tender was great! Definitely a must eat place when visiting Helen.
Amanda V — Google review
It was pretty nice. I sat outside next to the water by the bridge which was really nice after a long day of walking around town. Beer selection was good. The fries appetizer was really good. I got the entree where you get the cutlet and 2 sausages, which is a $30 meal which is a lot for me, but it was a lot of food. The meal itself was alright. I’m not huge on German food but if you are, then you’ll like it.
Nate W — Google review
★★★★★ We had a great time at Troll Tavern. The location next to the river is fantastic for a relaxed vibe. The service was friendly and efficient from the moment we walked in. We tried Paulaner Oktoberfest and the strawberry cocktail for drinks—both were excellent. The kohlwurst was delicious and really authentic. The Reuben was one of the best my wife has had. Overall, would definitely recommend coming back for lunch and drinks.
Nick T — Google review
If you want to enjoy anything from a crispy burger with fries to a delicious salmon, this is a great spot. The view is incredible, right by the river, and pairs perfectly with a good beer. I would have given 5 stars, but the way they call guests to be seated is not ideal. The hosts have to shout names from outside the restaurant, and with all the noise from people passing by the river, it can be hard to hear—there’s no modern system to notify diners, so it’s easy to miss your turn. Despite this, the food and atmosphere make it worth a visit.
Erika L — Google review
We stopped into the Troll Tavern for lunch during Oktoberfest. We didn’t have to wait to be seated. We enjoyed our seat outside on the patio by the water. Drinks were good, food was delicious. The Reuben was hot and juicy! The perfect amount of food! Service was a little slower than to be desired but we were in no rush. Overall good experience and would come back.
Amelia T — Google review
This is a must eat at when visiting Helen. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside by the river to watch the tubers float by and it was very enjoyable. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He answered all our questions throughly abd checked on us during our dine in to make sure everything was exceptional. The portions are very generous and we all took half of our plates back to the room with us. From the appetizers to the main course was absolutely delicious! Authentic German dining that anyone who is visiting should experience!
Kristina L — Google review
We came on a Sunday evening of Oktoberfest. We didn’t have to wait long, but it took over an hour for our food to be done, and the restaurant was thinned out by then. But the waiter and food was great. Rueben was excellent, chipped corned beef, and horse made thousand Island!!! No complaints on the food. Bathrooms were clean. A great stop.
Jessica P — Google review
Food was great and so were the drinks. The staff was very nice. I didn’t catch his name but the guy working the bar last night was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The mountain melt fries were awesome! And I absolutely loved the Troll Tiki drink! This is my favorite place to eat in Helen! The location and environment is great!

Bigg Daddys Restaurant & Tavern is a lively bar and grill offering a diverse menu of innovative American dishes, an extensive selection of beers, and a spacious outdoor patio. The restaurant is known for its delicious drunken mussels, New Orleans-style BBQ shrimp, cajun-dusted seared tuna, and a variety of tasty burgers that can be customized for vegetarian and pescatarian preferences.
Great spot for great food! We timed it right and got right in before a big crowd...they are able to sit large groups, which is great for all the vacationers we saw in town. The staff were friendly and hopping. Our server checked in on us multiple times and despite being busy, we never felt rushed. The food did not disappoint. We left with full bellies! Highly recommend!
Jessica D — Google review
Stopped at the restaurant because several people recommend it. It is a bit of sports bar and we did have about a 45 minute wait for 6 top table. The atmosphere was great. Did have to speak up a little when having a conversation but not too bad. Wished other guest would be more respectful to the tables around them. The food was great as well! If you're into fried green tomatoes, this would be a great place to stop and eat some! The Steak Burrito Bowl was great along with the blackened fish tacos. They do have move music playing on the patio every now and then.

Saturday evening dinner. The wait was typical and about 20 minutes. Once seated we were greeted by our server and our drink orders were taken. We ordered an appetizer of fried Portobello mushrooms that were the best part of the meal. My wife ordered wings and I ordered chicken tenders and a side of waffle fries. My fries were cold and they did take them off the bill. The temperature of the tenders was in acceptable, although I didn’t complain as we were ready to leave. We weee impressed by the hostess and our waitresses was great.

Food, drinks and service were excellent!! Great atmosphere!! We really enjoyed everything! Went back to eat twice during our weekend stay. Food portions are generous!! Will definitely visit again when we return!!

The reviews on here are a bit scattered but our experience from being seated to leaving was excellent. We had a party of 5 with 3 kids. Food was better than expected, great draft beer selection, prices were reasonable and our food came out fast. We ordered the Clucker chicken sandwich (it was a meal for two), the Smash burger, wings, Cartel blackened chicken, and chicken tacos. Our server Nick was awesome, very on top of our table. Everything was great. 😊
Drew C — Google review
Our server was just not that good. Shrimp appetizer was good. My soup tasted great. My wings were under cooked and made me a little ill that night.
Donnie B — Google review
I will say the wings and tenders were very good - we tried lemon pepper and Lil Daddy mild. My son also liked his ribs, and the blackened fish on my tacos was good. But my husband ordered the sirloin cooked medium with a baked potato and broccoli. The only thing he ate was the potato. The steak and broccoli were so overcooked they were inedible (see photos). I mentioned it, showed the server, and then waited for a response. Came back and said, "we took 15 off." I thought she meant $15. No - 15%. $4 off a $27 entree that was inedible. And for the wait for that $4, I would have rather paid full price and waited for a properly cooked steak and replacement side. But they didn't offer that. Just $4.
Robin M — Google review
We already started to dig in! But we absolutely loved the food and our server did great! We got the baked skins, waffle fries, street corn, and 2, 10” build your own pizzas! Everything was so delicious!!

Nestled in a charming town, Betty's Country Store is a one-stop shop offering an array of goods. From groceries to snacks, beer and wine, and old-fashioned sodas, the store has it all. The full-service deli custom-makes a variety of sandwiches perfect for a mid-hike picnic. Additionally, the store offers locally-sourced wine, homemade country food like Chicken Pot Pie, firewood, and fresh produce.
Such a cute little store with so much character! Love the sandwiches. The quiche I got from them was absolutely incredible and the Rueben was one of the best I’ve had…woofed that so quick I didn’t take a picture. Sub was awesome as well. Don’t skip the cakes. The banana pudding cake and the peanut butter pie we got was phenomenal 😋

What a cute grocery store with TONS of German beer selection! They even have a bar outside that serves breakfast and lunch. We are first timers to Helen, GA and just knew we had to stop in. We had their ham biscuits for breakfast that were amazing! A must stop if visiting Helen!!
Michelle G — Google review
This is as close to a country store as I have been in a long time. They have a little bit of everything and a lot of some things with a good selection of most things. A great place to visit and you will probably find something you will want. We purchased, honey, check out the live bee hive (behind glass), smoked pork chops, out of the meat market, spices to mix with oil and eat with bread (available), blueberry wine, tart cherry juice, dark cherry juice, Divinity candy, and a caramel popcorn ball. After my husband finished shopping he sat outside to wait on me and drank a beer while listening to live music that was very good.
Kat W — Google review
We stop in here every time we visit Helen. We do our grocery shopping in the country store, then visit the porch for food and drinks! The staff is always super friendly, the beer selection is phenomenal, and the food is really good too! Added bonus, they are on Untapped! If you track your beers like we do, you can track your beer selection here then see your post on the TV in front of the bar!
Alana M — Google review
A must see place in Helen Ga. Limited but free parking. This store has an awesome variety of groceries, souvenirs, and home made deserts, pastries and coffees. Great beer and wine selections and breakfast served daily! Too many locally made jams, jellies, sauces and relishes. You will be impressed with this iconic store!

Wander, snack, get liquered up; Betty's won't judge. Need a gallon of pickled eggs? Betty's gotchu. Need high quality butchered ribeye? Betty's gotchu. Need to sit glass-eyed at the bar throwing back whiskey and silently judging others? Betty's gotchu. Wanna listen to the best buskers in Georgia? Yeah, they're at Betty's. Every grocery store in America should be like Betty's. It's weird, eclectic, yummy, homegrown shenanigans.
Skye M — Google review
Cute place. I'd purchased 4 bundles of firewood. After trying a few times (with the help of fire starters) to get some of the wood going, I noticed that more than a few of them were damp, even mildewed inside. So I returned them. The cashiers at the register were kind. However I received condescension and rudeness from the manager. Even after I'd offered to show her video and pictures I'd taken to better illustrate what was wrong (which she refused to look at). As a manager in a tourist town (Asheville, NC), I know how frustrating it can be working with customers all day long. I also know how important it is to manage to bite my tongue when I don't understand why someone is returning an item they've purchased and to listen with an open ear. I did not receive that courtesy. But rather a snide comment/question and insult about where I'm from and what I "should know" about starting a fire (I'm from West Virginia, btw). Completely unnecessary. I did receive a refund. And ended up purchasing different firewood from a gas station on the way back to my cabin that lit just fine. If you're planning to purchase firewood from Betty's Country Store, open the bag and check the contents before you leave.

Extensive selection of German beer to take home after vacation in Helen. :) Nice little bakery area in back of store that offers a variety of baked goods, giant cookies, etc. Their oversized cupcakes are so yummy! Haven’t tried their front porch food/outdoor dining but a good reason to return and try next time. Plenty of parking.

Cafe International is a popular and lively eatery located on the water, offering a wide variety of European sandwiches and dinner entrees. Situated in Helen, Georgia's entertainment center, this casual restaurant overlooks the river and features a large deck where patrons can enjoy their meals while watching tubers go by during the summer months. The menu includes options such as hamburgers, salads, hummus, seafood, and their signature sandwich 'The Best Reuben Ever.'
Second time here! Great view of the river and tubers. Our family enjoyed our lunch: Bavarian pretzel was large and tasty. We also had the Reuben, German Wurst Platter, and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. All very good. Server Lucas took great care of us!
Guyjoe — Google review
Didn’t like the food at all, ordered black bean burger. On the menu said , comes with tomato onion lettuce cheese , but nothing on the burgers, just a bread and burger. Nachos were salty. Margarita was not good at all. The service was horrible. The waitress didn’t come to ask if everything was okay. Only good thing about this place is that it’s by the river. So you can enjoy the view. We enjoy the view but not the food.
N V — Google review
It is a good location but service was a bit slow. There were several pieces of hair in my salad so that was a bummer. The salad bowl also looked really dirty. Not sure if it was dirty or just stained. The rest of my party had sandwiches which all were good. Overall would probably not go again.
Kaitlyn C — Google review
Food was fine. Not authentic German, but neither is the town. :) The German potato salad was really good, and the pretzel with butter and salt was delicious. The view over the river was really lovely. We enjoyed watching the water on the rocks while we waited for our food.
Jennifer P — Google review
this experience at Cafe International was so disappointing that I feel the need to speak up. We brought a friend who’s visiting from another country, and we thought this would be a nice place to treat him. We each ordered a coffee for $7 which, even in the U.S., is expensive but especially for our friend, that’s a big amount of money where he’s from. We wanted him to have a good experience, and instead, we were just embarrassed. The coffee was honestly the most watered-down thing I’ve ever been served. Light in color, no richness, no flavor — it tasted like plain tap water. We weren’t rude when we brought it up, we simply asked if they could replace it or give us a refund. Instead, the staff walked up and literally grabbed the coffees off our table right in front of us, and said, “Since you’ve been sipping on it, we can only refund half.” No apology, no understanding, just attitude. I’ve worked in customer service — I get it, not every day is perfect. But this felt like they couldn’t care less. We left the place feeling embarrassed, especially for our guest. To pay that much for such poor quality and to be treated that way? It just didn’t sit right.
Juandiego B — Google review
I have been coming to Helen for 37 years. We always love coming to the International Cafe. Mainly, because we love the atmosphere. Sitting at a riverside table. This time, we had a grouchy greeting by a NOT friendly hostess. After a arm wrestle for a river view seat, we were lucky to get Lucas as our server. Lucas saved the day. I ordered my "usual". Bratwurst, red cabbage and pretzel with a Chardonnay. All was perfect except the pretzel was too hard. I didn't complain but took it back to the hotel and heated in microwave to soften. We got a good laugh when Lucas told us he is 29 after he carded me (a 70 year old) and then I let him know I have made a annual trip to Helen for the last 37 years. He was a cute kid who saved the day from that grouchy gal (rough around the edges) who greeted us. We loved watching the tubers going over the short fall in the river. Food is average, drinks good (brother had a German beer) but the location is five stars. Ask for Lucas! "Bring back those festive greeters who made coming to the International Cafe something to look forward to" .
Mary B — Google review
Extremely overpriced small portions. Salmon was a small sliver that was overcooked. Mac bowl was cold and flavorless. The best thing we got was the mashed potatoes. Total waste of money. Will not be back.
N B — Google review
The cafe has outdoor seating right by the river. We watched the tubers float by. The staff were friendly and gave information about the local area. I had the beyond sausage without the cheese and fries. I enjoyed it.

Nestled in the charming town of Helen, Muller's Famous Fried Cheese Cafe is a cozy Alpine-style eatery renowned for its delectable fried cheese and authentic German and Czech cuisine. This family-owned restaurant offers a unique fusion of flavors, with highlights such as the mouthwatering fried brie and rich chocolate fudge cake.
This spot was recommended by one of the other businesses as a gluten free friendly option in town and they were right! A well marked menu gave me lots of options and everything looked so good! Our only complaint would be not the appetite to eat everything on the menu. The patio seating was perfect on a beautiful day, and pet friendly. Savannah took care of us and was friendly and the perfect blend of attentive but not overwhelming. She was thorough in checking on allergens for me. Prices were reasonable for a touristy area and we left with full bellies and a happy experience.

We had breakfast at Mueller’s Famous Fried Cheese in Helen, Georgia, and it was such a great experience! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and charming, and the food was delicious. We tried their famous fried cheese, which is a must-try in this area — and it was amazing! Everything we ordered was really tasty. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast if you’re visiting Helen.

Beautiful place with delicious food. We waited quite a while before we got our food, but it was worth it. I believe they made it fresh. We both had authentic German meals. Having lived in Germany for five years, I can tell you our food was as good as anything I had in Germany. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

It was Octoberfest, so it was insanely busy, but everyone was doing their best to keep up. The food was very good. I got the ham and pork with fried cheese that was incredible. We had our dog with us and they were very accommodating.

The food was amazing and the servers were very sweet. Our drinks stayed full and the food was out very fast. We got breakfast and enjoyed the German Schnitzel breakfast, Muller's pancakes, and the Ham and Cheese Omelet. The fruit was fresh and sweet and the bacon was cooked great. The sweet tea was very good and the views and atmosphere were pleasant.

We sat outside with our dog and they brought a bowl of dog water. The food and service both were magnificent. I can't wait to go back. FRIED CHEESE! YUMMY! Hubby had pancakes, yummy!

Yes, yes, yes! If you are even considering this place, go! The food is fresh and the vibe is perfect for a diner in a busy city. It feels down home in the best possible way. I had the Jaeger Strussel and it was cooked to perfection. The little salad was slightly underwhelming - it wasn't a flavor I was craving walking into a German diner in Helen. However, everything else was amazing. I fully recommend this restaurant!
Michelle M — Google review
This was a great place to have breakfast. Very nice patio, the waitress we had was a doll…. But the food was something to be desired. I ordered just a 2 egg/ bacon/ potato and toast breakfast. The potatoes are 4.00 extra ( and weren’t good imo) and when I ordered I had asked what kinds of bread they had for toast and one of the options was rye so I picked that. I was upcharged another 1.00 for that without being told. My bacon was so overcooked we laughed that 2 of the 4 peices were inedible / rock hard and resembled a chicken bone or a pork rind ( see picture). I like crispy bacon but this was LOL. My husbands pancakes weee just basic pancakes. They were ok. Positive- a good large cup of coffee, waitress was really nice, nice patio.

Steak house
American restaurant
Bar
Paul's Steakhouse, a beloved establishment since 1965, offers a laid-back riverside setting with live music on weekends. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy refreshing beers, wine, and cocktails alongside delectable dishes like blue crab cakes, jalapeno poppers, oysters, ribeye steak, filet mignon, fried chicken, and rainbow trout.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Paul’s Steakhouses, and let me tell you, their Fried Chicken Livers and Baby Back Ribs are absolutely to die for. First, the Fried Chicken Livers—WOW. I’m not usually one to rave about chicken livers, but these were something else. Crispy on the outside, perfectly tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. Every bite was rich and flavorful, and the dipping sauce they serve with it takes it to a whole new level. Seriously, I couldn’t get enough of them! And then, the Baby Back Ribs—I don’t think I’ve ever had ribs so tender in my life. The meat just fell off the bone, and the glaze was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too tangy, just perfect. The portion was huge, so We left the restaurant completely stuffed but incredibly happy. I’ve been to plenty of steakhouses before, but Paul’s really knocked it out of the park with these dishes. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss out—those livers and ribs alone are worth the visit!

(Review based on service and order of wings only!) We made a visit to Helen and ate here! Shannon assisted all of us during our visit and she didn’t disappoint! Be prepared to pay a bit because of the obvious: location, steakhouse, scene, etc. I would go back to this establishment again for sure. Their prices weren’t “rip your heart out” type of prices but a little gut check. The serving sizes are spot on though, in my opinion. The hospitality here was great here as well! I was surprised. You must get their wings! Tell Shannon I sent you and that want the Jerk wings and/or the Lemmon pepper/mild wings. She will make sure you’re taken care of! Skip the fries and order another batch of wings and you’ll be happy in you did. Go see Shannon!! Show them a picture of the wings I posted and tell Shannon you want your wings just like those in the pic. Come back and emoji this post if you enjoyed them! I’m curious of how many will enjoy the wings.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I had an amazing dinner here last night! The atmosphere was perfect, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. He had the steak, I had the steamed oysters, and we shared the jalapeño poppers — everything was absolutely delicious. The bartender was incredible, and the chef and manager made us feel so welcome. Truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had — we’ll definitely be back!!!

I was looking for a place that had prime rib. We found Paul’s and I ordered the prime rib with baked potato, salad and lobster bisque, the wife had country fried steak with gravy and baked potato. The food was great we had no issues. The server was excellent. It was worth the trip. We highly recommend.
StopAndLive — Google review
Food was good but I wouldn't say great. With these types of meals you would expect to get dinner rolls or bread. She brought the check without asking us if we cared for dessert, they had key lime pie so we asked for that. The pie would have been amazing had the crust been crunchy instead of soft and mushy. Not saying the experience was bad, it was good, just not great.

⭐ 1 star Never again! I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp, Fresh Salmon, and Chicken Wings — everything was awful. The shrimp came out cold, not even warm, and tasted like it had been sitting for a while, looks like shrimp balls. The chicken wings were also cold and completely flavorless — no salt, no pepper, nothing. The shrimp was honestly the worst part of the meal. I figured the side salad would at least be good, but it was way too salty and just as disappointing. Nothing tasted fresh or properly seasoned. Suggestion: Never ever visit this place — easily the worst meal I’ve had in Helen!
TheSnapReel ( — Google review
Our server last night was really good. Super attentive. We came after a long wait elsewhere so decided to give Paul’s a try. The fried shrimp was PHENOMENAL! Got a pound for two to share salad and fries as side and it was plenty. The ribeye was decent but was certainly outshined by the fried shrimp

Not the greatest steak in town at all ! Ordered prime rib cooked medium and it was well done. Served never came back to ask how good was. Had to get another server to help. My wife’s filet was full of gristle and was not even filet, was not offered any other meat or replacement. When server came and took food away from my wife he didn’t even ask , he just said they were gonna take it off the bill - again , not great service and not great steak. I’ve attached a picture of the prime rib. We likely won’t be back for another meal.

Nacoochee Village Tavern & Pizzeria is a lively and family-friendly pizza parlor located just half a mile south of Helen's downtown area. In addition to their delicious handmade pizzas, they also offer hoagies, salads, craft beer, local wines, and desserts. The restaurant's beautifully landscaped gardens make it an ideal spot for casual meals or special occasions.
Hanna was the sweetest waitress. She was the only waitress for the whole restaurant and she was rocking it! She was apologetic for wait times for things, even though times were very reasonable. The garlic bread was delicious. We got a 18” in half cheese/half mushroom and onion. The caramelized onion was amazing. This was our first meal in Helen and it was a great one. Hanna set the tone for a wonderful trip! $37 to feed 4 people and we had leftovers. The patio was perfect!

Found this place because we wanted pizza and not in the touristy part of Helen, nice little spot off the road. Wasn't too busy, but as soon as we arrived it did start picking up. One server was running around taking orders but was very attentive. The pie itself was decent. Though we would of rather it been done a little more. However toppings were delicious. Recommend the Spicy piglet.
Ryan B — Google review
We ate there 2 days ago, and it was delicious! My hubby and I looked for a vegetarian-friendly spot in Helen, GA that was also pet-friendly. We ended up at Nacoochee Villiage and Tavern. They have a nice, pet-friendly patio that's chill enough that our border collie mix didn't get anxious. Our server was attentive and friendly, with good drink recommendations. We ordered the "Tree Hugger" pizza, and it was delicious! Loaded with toppings, but the crust was still crisp and delicious. we loved that this restaurant is off the main drag in Helen, so it's not too noisy to sit on the patio, and nobody tried to rush us away from our table. Five stars for the service, food, and atmosphere!

Let me start by saying... The pizzas are amazing. Flavorful and worth the wait. That being said, they were extremely understaffed. Out waiter did amazing however given how overwhelmed she was. We sat near the kitchen, and you can tell stress was high, we overheard some bickering. This was during Oktoberfest so I understand the businesses but one should also prepare. Having worked in the food industry, I also saw some red flags in terms of food violations. Somehow, even after all this, we were very satisfied as the pizza was simply excellent. Tasted so good, we forgot how long we waited. When engaging the staff, they did good to be friendly. I do think this place could be one of the best in Ga, they just need to organize a bit. Overall, 4 stars.

The pizza here was amazing. Loved how crispy the bottom was and the fold ability of the slices. You can get half and half pizzas as long as they have the same base. Would definitely recommend giving them a try!
Caylan J — Google review
The pizza was new york style. Perfectly crispy and cheesy. We ordered the garlic bread as well. The portion was large. It had a nice cheese pull. It came with a tomato sauce and a cup of peppers which had a nice kick. The service was extremely friendly. Would definitely visit again.

I drive an EV and have a subscription for the Tesla network of chargers. After a long day of traveling to North Georgia landmarks, we found ourselves in Helen where I’d planned to recharge, before walking the little mountain town. I saw on the map before navigating to the charging location that there were two restaurants in on the block. The grill was closed, which I hope to try next time; they only open after 4:30. I will not be returning to the Pizzeria and Tavern. Our experience started with soda orders unfulfilled. A soda was brought to our table where the server asked us to taste it to make sure it was okay, it was good, the server then told my partner to pick something else to drink, my partner picked another soda. The soda should have been caramel colored, like a cola, it resembled a mildly dark beer, upon tasting it we found that it was like a la croix version of pibb. The server had my partner pick another non soda beverage. We then ordered a “Happy Hippie” this was the only thing good about our visit. “Good,” it was six wheat crackers, three scoops of hummus, four pieces of “fresh bread” and a pile of cold mushrooms. After seeing other reviews I am lead to believe that a lot of sides and apps just use cold product from the pizza make line, like a “tomato bisque” which was clearly just pizza sauce and our cold mushrooms on our “Happy Hippie.” Lastly, we ordered our pizza. Something a little Neapolitan (we were expecting) a large (a mistake), with anchovies, basil and feta. When our pizza was brought out was when we were told that the restaurant was actually out of Basil, I should have sent the pie back, but before this experience I would normally let the food service run me over with “the unexpected” I now know better; my partner and I let it slide thinking “basil can’t make or break this pizza” and also thinking “I don’t wanna be here long, the charger can charge me for idol time.” Actually the worst pizza of my life. I ate it knowing that after the two slices were consumed it was a bit late to ask to exchange it, also the things noted previous sentence. The anchovies were the lowest of quality. Great value anchovies, anything they touched turned into salt. The cheese, greasy salt. The feta, salt. The sauce, greasy salt. And the crust, soggy, wet salt. I bit my tongue through being asked if the food was good, consistently just saying “yeah” or putting my thumb up. This experience taught me that if allowed the food industry can run you over with it’s demeanor that it’s trying it’s best when in reality it’s not. So much was wrong about this place that some of the bad things strike as an afterthought when simply trying to review service and quality of food. Really hope that the next time I need to use this charger that I arrive after 4:30. Even though drinks were removed from the total, still spent $51. Seriously do not recommend.
Patrick K — Google review
It was so nice to experience great service and delicious food not too far from home. Hannah made us feel welcome the minute we walked in - even though it was close to closing time. The pizza had just the right amount of toppings and the crust was perfect. We had the Junker and were not disappointed. Had to sample the loaded potato salad and house made meatballs too. All delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Also very convenient with the Tesla chargers there.

This restaurant is a must try! My wife and I had the Ruben and it was amazing and the German chocolate is very rich so splitting it would be a good idea. Everything is made to order so it's nice and fresh. The atmosphere is amazing to feel and to look at the decor that is rooted deep with Bavarian culture is very cool to look at. Will definitely come back again!

After arriving in town I went in search of dinner, preferably German food. This was open until 9pm so I went at 7pm to avoid the last minute rush. Easy to find with a parking lot across the street. Friendly service. I was quickly seated and my waitress, Sharon, suggested some items on the menu. Service was fast and my waitress attentive. I'll be back for more of their delicious food.

Homemade red cabbage, what more needs to be said! Go early, because once this small, intimate restaurant starts running low, they close the door. But if you're lucky enough to get in, you'll find a polite and humorous waiter well versed in the beer and food offerings, and willing to assist those with questions. Everything we tasted was amazing, but with each bite we understood what we were eating was homemade by hands that love the food and care what the customers think. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

First, make a reservation to come here. It’s a great little place to eat. A little on the upscale side, with great food, wine and some art. We loved it BUT we did not get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked as they’ve musician the night we went and they sat us in the same room and it was VERY loud. My husband didn’t like that because you couldn’t talk or anything. Other than that it was pleasant and the food was very good. We would go back here again just hopefully get seated in a different spot.

What a beautiful experience! This is our new favorite restaurant! Everything was just perfect. Beautiful, peaceful atmosphere with absolute best staff who truly cares. We were treated as old friends. Truly grateful. The food is worth raving over until the next time I’m able to go- and then I’ll rave some more. The best crab cakes that I’ve ever had- and the shrimp and grits were full of flavor and HUGE SHRIMP. My husbands ribeye was beyond outstanding. He ate the fat and all! Homemade mashed potatoes that were full of flavor and a gorgeous salad. The drinks were amazing as well. This is a MUST.

I can’t say enough about this place. I went there a little less than two weeks ago and our server Lindsay was amazing. Personality was very pleasant and friendly, and she recommended the crabcake appetizer as well as the shrimp and grits and a couple other items for the three of us, and every recommendation was absolutely amazing. I advise anyone that goes to this place to ask for Lindsay because her service and work ethics are on point and hard to come by these days!!! They should be happy to have her on board!!! Btw we were in town visiting family and came from NJ 👍👍👍💯

Fried green tomato appetizer was amazing. My wife had the shrimp and grits and it was good. I had the tortellini in Alfredo sauce. It was pretty bland. Barely any Alfredo. Some pieces didn’t have any and the rest was like someone lightly coated it with a paint brush. And then to add grilled chicken with no flavor doesn’t make sense. I would not get the tortellini.

What can I say....my motorcycle broke down in the parking lot at TTT. Several people tried to assist, including Dan, the restaurant manager. Thank you for your hospitality Dan! While there, I ordered a pretzel, Philly cheesesteak with fries, and a tea. It was all good. For the bike, Dan allowed me to leave it on property overnight. I went back the next day to pick it up. This time, ordering lunch which I had the bar bq on toast, fries and a German beer. The bar bq was really good. Hannah was my waitress, very friendly and attentive to our table. Overall, I couldn't have asked for my bike to break down anywhere else. They were very helpful, the food and drinks were good, and love the open air atmosphere.

They could have done so much better. Best item is large pretzel. The beer came in plastic cups? The food was just not good. With a little effort it would have been better. I guess they get so much business they just don’t care ? Cold beer in an ice cold glass cup is the best and only way to serve beer 🍺! Will never go there again. Super expensive too. The only bright spot was the waitress she was great!

My wife and I ate her for lunch. No wait, the waitress was very friendly, the place was very clean, the food came out very quickly. I got the mountain top burger and fries. I'll be honest. Edited to add photo of table/ server- thank you for your response. The service was extremely slow. There was something wrong with every order at our table. (Missing items or wrong items) we had to ask multiple times for items to be corrected. I know it was a busy weekend, but it was ridiculous. My fries were also lukewarm at best when they arrived at the table. Then when the bills came there were a couple that were not done correctly. We were not told that gratuity was included and were not given the option to view anything but the insert your card now screen before paying. 2 burgers, 2 beers, and a bottle of water should not have come to $108 ... first and last time we will visit and would NOT recommend.

This was my husband and I's first trip to Helen. We stopped in at TTT twice during our few days stay. The first time was on a Sunday during Oktoberfest, which was quite a bit busier than the next day, but the service was quick and efficient. Both visits we had beer/drinks, and the second visit ordered food as well. We ordered (to-go) the loaded potato pancakes, and loaded baked potatoes (one with Krainerwurst and the other with Knockwurst). Everything was great! This was my fist time ever trying potato pancakes, never would've thought to eat them with apple sauce but what a great suggestion by Ms. Vickie (our bartender). I wished I had ordered the platter dinner, it smelled SO delicious from across the bar. We absolutely felt right at home, and cant wait to come back and visit the area again. It was very nice to meet you Mr. Dan! It was also refreshing to see an owner (both times we went) there doing things around the establishment, being present with their staff, as well as interacting with the guests!

We had a club sandwich and it was really good. Fries and onion rings were really good. Pretzel was good as well. Drinks come in plastic Dixie cups which I didn't care for and it was overpriced. Good food and atmosphere though.

Ordered Americano coffee, they make it with one shot of espresso and 16 oz of steaming water. Basically water down burnt coffee. Americano is made with limited amount of hot 90•C (200F) , not 100•C water, it burns the coffee. Water should be limited to 200-250 grams (6-8 oz), otherwise you water it down. We had to ask for ice to cool it down, but definitely not a great coffee shop.

I’ve never had an espresso on its own with any add-ons aside from milk and sweetener, so the concept of a double shot with whipped cream sounded like a treat! My 4 kids all had a crepes the misses and I did not. They were split on their opinion of how good they were. This is a small location with very little seating. The staff is so friendly and accommodating though!! The crepes have a wonderful flavor. But they are a little overpriced for the size and amount of food you get. $50+ for 2 small crepes and an iced coffee seemed a bit much. It is good though!

The café is charming and cozy, offering a great selection of sweet and savory crêpes. I had the turkey and avocado crêpe (delicious!), one friend ordered the chicken and veggie, and another tried the classic cinnamon and sugar. Everyone was happy, especially with the cappuccinos. The prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Just a heads-up: parking isn’t free, but we found a lot nearby and split the $10 fee, which felt fair for the downtown Helen area. If you’re in town, Village Crepe Haus is definitely worth a stop.

We decided to stop into this place as it was right on river so we could watch the tubing. It was extremely hot out and thought this would be the perfect spot. We got seated, waited a few minutes for our waiter to take our order. Hubby ordered a beer and water and I got Iced Tea. The beer and tea were good, but the water tasted horrible. Instead of a meal, we opted for 3 appetizers. The food was just ok. The pretzel bites had no salt on them, so basically fried dough. We had to ask for plates and silverware after our server put down our food without the table set, which is a little crazy. I will say they do honor Veterans discount, so we ended up getting $15.00 off the meal. That was very kind of them. We probably would not come back here again as it was really nothing special, but if you’re looking for a good beer and to just hang out, this is your place.

Alpine brew deck is our one of our favorite places to go. The location is great, the staff are awesome, and they take all doggos. This is my go to place when visiting Helen. This is year 9 for us and we were not disappointed.
Brittany M — Google review
I knew we were going to be in Helen for the weekend so I looked up some places. This brewery got my eye. I told my husband that it seemed like a cool place to check out and it definitely was. We got wings and they were definitely big and delicious. My kids got chicken tenders and loved the curly fries. The place was clean and the staff were nice and friendly. They complimented my shirt (WWE) and that was cool lol. Definitely will come again my next visit 😊 Everyone should check it out!
Melissa E — Google review
They have some German beer on tap. But it's served in a plastic cup and no foam. Exactly the opposite of how the Germans do it. The bratwurst is so so. The tables are sticky. So nothing German. Not a place to go back to
J — Google review
Gordon Ramsey would tear this place apart. We’ll start with the food. Which is probably the highlight of the experience. The appetizer was fresh from the freezer, the bratwurst did have good flavor though, and the fries were fresh. Other than that, nothing else was good. The drinks were mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price.. The cooks all huddled around the window staring at the guest as they received their food was strange.. most of them touching their face or phones with gloves on. The waitress mentioned a few times how she was ready to go home as more and more people walked in to be seated. Some of those guest ended up leaving shortly after not receiving menus after being by seated. Finally, the most frustrating part of the experience was the waitress hovering over our shoulder still holding the payment device while we are choosing the tip amount. Peer pressuring into leaving a good tip is how you receive a bad tip. Especially with the service received. I understand not everything is the servers fault and they can only control so much of what happens during a dining experience. But this experience was terrible.
Jordan N — Google review
Visited spontaneously on a random October weekend, and this spot was an unexpected gem. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of friendly energy and eclectic crowd, all set to a fantastic soundtrack of great music. The feeling here is genuinely welcoming. A definite good bet for anyone looking for a relaxed outing, especially considering the scenic view—a perfect backdrop for an afternoon or evening. This is a five-star find. Will definitely return.
Corwin L — Google review
We paid $76 for 2 $11 drinks, an appetizer that was very obviously frozen wonton, and 2 bratwurst entrees. The best part was the bratwurst itself but the meal itself was overpriced. The wonton only had 5 and small. The cooks were staring at us and other customers through the window overlooking the bar and were kind of creeped out. I could hear them yelling in the back and I could see one was on his phone while wearing the black gloves. Thats not sanitary. Our server was pushy when I went to pay and wouldn't let me hold the "clover" device while trying to add a tip. Its rude to hover over someone while asking them to press a button to add a tip. I hit custom tip and she insisted that I wasn't able to hold the device because people steal them.... Not only that but the server would walk out of the kitchen into the patio asking "is everyone good?" Like as a whole. Didn't take the time to check on each table if the food was OK or if we needed anything else. We didn't need anything and I would speak up if we did. It was just very shocking how laid back and unprofessional the people who WORK there were acting. We tipped the server but honestly after looking back I wish we didn't. This was not a good experience and we would have had better food and better service if we went to a different restaurant.

Beer garden
King Ludwig Biergarten is a lively spot in the heart of Helen, GA, offering an authentic German beer garden experience. The outdoor space features picnic tables where guests can enjoy Bavarian cuisine and a wide selection of German beers. The festive atmosphere, complete with live music on some evenings, adds to the charm. During Oktoberfest, the scene becomes even more vibrant with musicians entertaining the crowds as servers deliver steins of beer and light bites to the courtyard picnic tables.
Had a wonderful experience. Staff were pleasant, giant pretzel with beer cheese was delicious and good music! Definitely a highlight of our Helen trip.
Megan P — Google review
Atmosphere was fun with live entertainment and the gentleman that was singing and playing the guitar was very good. My family all had bratwurst plate with sauerkraut and potatoes. Food came out fast and was very delicious I would definitely recommend for anyone in town looking for a quick bite
Mike M — Google review
Great place with live music and good drinks. BUT be advised the Automatically place a at least 20% gratuity and the don’t tell you and the notice on the menu isn’t that easy to see. Love the place but disappointed!
Bert N — Google review
BE VERY CAREFUL with this place. Oktoberfest is always fun in Helen! I have always enjoyed this place for few years, and always recommended them. But this past experience wasn't a good one. I bought 2 beers refills, 1 beer with mug, and 5 sausages. I remember seeing in the card machine around low $80s, and I was never prompted for tip on the card machine. They didn't give me a receipt, and I left some cash as tip (as I always do). Next day, I see a charge of $96 on my card. The only explanation I have is that they added 20% tip without my consent. I did not see any sign nowhere in the establishment saying that they charge 20% on everything. If you are owner of this business, please check what they are doing on the outside bar. If you are the owner of this place, and you know this is going on, please stop it. Don't loose the trust of your customers. If this happened to you too, please don't stay silent.
Abdel B — Google review
Stay away during Oktoberfest!!!! The bartender thought I was drunk so when I ordered a beer and a Jagermeister she gave herself a fat tip. I didn’t realize until I tapped to pay and saw the total. When I asked her about it she mumbled something about charges for the cup and “auto gratuities.” When I watched the next three transactions for my friends she selected 20% gratuities for herself, but not the giant one she charged me. Who selects their own tip???
Richard C — Google review
Bartender didn't even look up when we got to her after waiting in line for 15 mins. She was going over something with a waitress and never acknowledged us. Stood there for way too long, finally left and went to another line... quick service from that bartender. Overpriced beer, though... was charged $2 more than posted. Since I paid cash, I didn't get a receipt. After reading comments here, I see auto gratuity is added, which is fine, but i didn't see that posted in line at the bar. If you're going to charge tips automatically, take the tip jars down. I gave a tip there, not knowing i had already been charged a tip. It was right before 9pm when we got there and the singer went on break for 30 mins. We waited, because we love listening to him. He didn't play long when he came back, but that's understood as he's there all day long. We'll get there earlier next time.
Lisa B — Google review
Really wanted to enjoy a delicious Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and mustard - really a big miss here. It wasn't even warm, the beer cheese tastes canned. Look elsewhere if you want a good pretzel in Helen.
Jared W — Google review
Pretty cool little German town in Helen GA! They have a mountain roller coaster that you need to try... we also did a love lock, but I'm not sure I would waste your money on that as the city cuts the lock and throws it away once a week. So it is not there forever like it used to be... dissappointing.

The cafe is known for its delightful homemade buttermilk biscuits and a variety of breakfast options available all day. Customers rave about the humongous Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes, Build-Your-Own Omelettes, French Toast, and Nora Mill grits. Additionally, the cafe offers excellent pizza and is dog-friendly for those traveling with pets.
Really enjoyable experience. The wait staff were very friendly and the food was really good. Had pancakes, eggs and bacon. The pancakes are the biggest, thickest pancakes I have ever had. They take up the whole plate. My wife had biscuits and gravy. We highly recommend going.
Steve H — Google review
Cimmi’s Courtyard is not only a cute little place but the food is amazing. The eggs are fresh, hash brown were cooked to perfection and the homemade biscuits so delicious. The pancakes, no need to describe them sooo tasty. Do not feel discouraged if you see a line to get in. The waitress are so fast and efficient that what might look like an hour wait will be Maine 15-20 minutes. We had a great experience. Our waitress Jessica was very friendly but I could see all of them work as a team which is excellent.
Noslaidys A — Google review
I liked that they were following Covid-19 safety. We had to. It was cold the morning we went and had to wait outside until a few tables were clear but we understood. The waitress was very nice and polite. The food was pretty good. My eggs were perfect.

Hands down the best place to get breakfast. I was very surprised as the amount you get what you order. Old style cooling at its best. Its a must.

A must experience stop in Helen! The food was wonderful, the service great and loved the alfresco dining experience! Be careful with the pancakes though, only order one unless your starving. They are addictive, fluffy and truly platter sized.

Cute little breakfast cafe in Helen GA. Breakfast was good, coffee hot, and service was great! Line to get in can be long, but this just shows the food is good. Pet friendly as well with outdoor seating available.

While we were visiting Helen, Georgia the whole town was super busy because of the kick off of the Christmas season. All businesses here were overwhelmed. We had to wait for about 15 minutes to be seated for breakfast. We got great service and the food was great. I had to remind myself that people were waiting to get a table so there was no time to waste. This was a very pleasant place to have breakfast especially considering the circumstances. Guests can indulge in massages, body treatments, and facials at the spa or enjoy recreational activities like golfing, tennis, and sauna sessions. Afternoon tea service is also available for guests to unwind and savor premium tea with light refreshments.
We stayed here on a girls trip over the weekend. Everything was amazing! The staff was fantastic and sweet as pie, especially Judy at the front desk. We were welcomed with champagne to celebrate our friends birthday. The bungalow was clean and cozy. The room was stocked with treats and drinks, we had robes and slippers! The food was incredible, in fact we ate every meal there instead of trying local places. The wait staff was so kind and fun to interact with. The first night we stayed well after closing time and they did not try to rush us out. The sky bar has breathtaking views. We spent one day at the spa and it was heavenly. Going to plan a return trip in the fall to see the leaves changing!

While we didn’t stay at the hotel, the Sky Bar was a great hidden gem in Helen! The views were fantastic and the service was wonderful! Even when calling about needing reservations, the employee who answered was a delight on the phone. Everything we ordered at Sky bar was delicious including the smoked salmon dip. The highlight of the visit was its pet friendly! Well behaved dogs are allowed to join you at this adorable find. My brother ordered the fried chicken sandwich and he raved about it:) We were too full for dessert but I hope on my next visit up, we will most definitely return

Absolutely beautiful location and accommodations, from the vallet to the front desk to house keeping all exceptional! Then the icing on the cake is the on-site restaurant with amazing servers and we stayed on the 4th floor and they have a bar setup with an open wall that over looks the beautiful mountains and golf course. Our Bartender Alexandra was top notch great drinks all around amazing service. Our room accommodations were comfortable and roomy cant say enough good about this place and staff!

Beyond perfect for our anniversary trip. From the second we drove up we were pampered and showered with kindness. The anniversary package included a spa visit that was the best experience. The rain forest experience is something we will be talking about for months to come. The food was top notch, and everyone there really seemed to want you to have the best time. We have decided we will be back for every anniversary here on out! You will not regret going to Valhalla!

I booked a birthday massage at Valhalla Day Spa with a friend and was really looking forward to spending a relaxing morning there while our husbands golfed. Based on the online reviews and photos, our expectations were high—but unfortunately, the experience fell short. When we arrived, the lobby felt narrow and overcrowded, and the waiting area was filled with mismatched furniture. The bathrooms were disappointing as well—more like a church restroom than a spa—with no toilet paper in one stall, no small towels by the sink, and even a wad of hair left in the shower. Our massages started about 10 minutes late. While my massage itself was good my friend said hers was mediocre, I was surprised that the session ended right on time (10:52), without making up for the lost time—especially since the spa didn’t seem busy. Afterward, I asked if there was a steam room or sauna to enjoy, but was told it required an additional fee. Based on our experience so far, I didn’t feel comfortable paying more. Although it was over cast, we decided to sit by the pool instead, but the cushions were very thin and worn. The place felt like a ghost town. Even the Tesla charger came with an unnecessary upcharge, which just added to the frustration. Overall, while the massage was decent, the spa environment and amenities did not live up to what was advertised online. Disappointing for what was supposed to be a special birthday outing.
Tiara B — Google review
From the moment Tommy met us at the front door, we knew our stay was going to be special, and it was! We were celebrating our 48th anniversary and we simply wanted to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and Valhalla was exactly what we had hoped for, and more. The service was amazing. The food was so spectacular that we ate most meals on site taking advantage of Valhalla’s extraordinary chef. The sunrises and sunsets from our balcony were spectacular. We particularly enjoyed riding through the small towns in the area and hiking to some of the beautiful waterfalls in the area. Our room was perfect and well equipped. However, the one thing that stood out the most is the people on their staff. From the waiters in the dining room to the people cleaning our room to Jan and the staff managing the front desk to the guys cleaning the pool each morning, everyone we met made sure we were pampered. And what stood out the most…..it all was genuine, never forced or fake, genuine. Everyone there was honored and grateful to be there and made us feel so special. We felt like family! It was an anniversary we’ll never forget! Thank you!

Windmill Dutch Imports is a charming shop located in King Ludwig's Square, offering a delightful selection of souvenirs straight from Amsterdam. With over 30 years in business, this store imports everything directly from Holland, including ceramics, wooden shoes, Dutch food, and collectible items. Visitors can find traditional favorites like chocolate sprinkles and zoute licorice alongside beautiful white and blue figurines and plates.
This shop is so cute and is full of beautiful delftware (quintessential blue and white ceramic of the Netherlands). I’m definitely coming back to shop when I have a place to decorate. I hope these are true delftware and not just delftware-inspired pieces. I picked one up and saw that it says it’s hand painted in Holland; it contains a factory mark and artist initials too. Great place to shop for gifts or for yourself!

June 14, 2025. One of a couple of stores that is actually selling authentic food and gifts from Europe(Dutch/German). This was one of our favorite stores in the entire town of Helen,Georgia. The ladies working there were very helpful and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend stopping in and checking this store out.

This is a really unique shop! There are all kinds of windmills for sale. Some are ceramic and some are wooden. They also sell slippers that look like Dutch wooden shoes. There is a whole section of imported German groceries. They have everything from coffees and drinks to chocolates and snacks.

I'm not exactly sure what a Dutch shop is doing in the middle of a faux-Bavarian town, but it works and I love it! It's definitely on the more authentic side of shops here. There is delft galore, tiny pieces and huge, real wooden shoes, soft "wooden shoe" slippers which I thought were super cute, and a whole room of European foods and sweets. The little wooden tulips are cool and it's a great place to pick up a Christmas ornament. My niece walked out with a keychain with two tiny wooden shoes on it that was crazy cute.

Visitors can purchase these products as well as other items like jams and sauces from the on-site store. The owner is passionate about sharing the mill's history and operations with visitors.
History and food!! Is there anything else needed?? Take a gallop back in time when visiting the granary. My goal is to watch the process when possible, yet in the meantime there is ample information to guide you through. Fabulous treats for the whole family. I indulged in the pancake mix, the bread and grit oat combo. Take your time and get ready to indulge in some true wheat products. ✨✨✨all products do well in the fridge. It is very specific on the bags.

Nora Mill Granary is a hidden gem you absolutely must visit! 🌾✨This charming spot is full of history. You’ll find a wonderful variety of local products—delicious Jam, fresh-milled flours, and many handmade goodies. But the real magic is out back, where you’ll discover a breathtaking river view that’s simply unforgettable. It’s the perfect place to visit with family and take home something special. Truly a place worth visiting and remembering!

An actual working mill with a real, live miller! When we went on Friday, he was grinding corn for grits and you could see it going up the elevator and down the chutes, it's fun to watch. I returned on a Wednesday and he wasn't milling anything. There are yellow and white corn grits in 1, 2, 5, and 10 lbs sizes, 5 lbs will set you back about $12. There's also flour, cornmeal, loads of baking mixes and other food, candy, souvenirs, cooking utensils and you can go out back to watch the mill work, see the dam, and feed the fish and geese.

Great place to get real stone ground products. Wide selection of baking products. Really neat general store attached to the mill.

This grain mill has been in operation for a long time. They were unloading a truck of corn when we were there. They were very busy! I bought seasoned cornmeal and popcorn. We walked on the back deck to see the waterfall made by the dam. It's a nice piece of history.

This is a hidden in plain sight gem! Nora Mill Granary was one of the unexpected highlights of my trip. I would definitely make this a stop on your list. They grind corn into different products right on site. They have samples, that are delicious along with recipes to go with them. If you want to step back in time for a minute, this is the place! There is a waterfall and babbling creek right behind the store that is a must see.
Rayshundra D — Google review
Historic site and very beautiful location. This mill is still in operation. They have wide selection of meal, flour, baking supplies, and more! Summer time is the best time to feed the Trout. The waterfalls are beautiful and power this lovely old mill. Plenty of jams, butters, and jellies to sample! Parking is limited directly at the Mill, if you're driving a larger vehicle that is a boat, park across the street. No parking on the porch! As a visitor very rudely did while we were there! Will continue to enjoy our visits through the year!

A little hidden gem in downtown Helen! Paula was so sweet and we ended up staying in the store just chit chatting about the Florida verus Georgia housing market (we are originally from Florida). We did the 3 moonshine tastings for $1 each plus the 3 wine tastings for free, so it's a budget friendly way to find your new favorite beverage! They have a cute little giftshop too if you are looking for something to bring home. Ended up buying a bottle of red wine.
