Lodge
Nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Unicoi State Park & Lodge is a charming mountain retreat just two miles from Helen. The park offers a plethora of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and paddling adventures. Visitors can explore remnants of the late 1800s gold rush and enjoy scenic trails that lead to mountain summits and picturesque waterfalls.
Stayed 3 nights in September 2025. Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Room was very comfortable and clean. Appears to have been remodeled not long ago. We ate two evening meals. The menu was very limited. They really need to add more items like pasta, regular size burgers, and more variety. If you have a problem, just ask for Executive Chef Matthew Humphrey. He will make it right and make sure you leave happy. Cannot say enough good things about him. Servers were friendly and wait time short. If we decide to return we will definitely stay here.

I have been a frequent visitor of Unicoi for about 7 years now. This week we got married in the park, and had a great time. I had to depart for a family emergency early and Ms. Patty was outstanding in listening and being kind. This park, it’s always clean and friendly. You can see wildlife all year round here. (Our favorite is the armadillos). If you go please be safe, keep it clean and make memories here.

Beautiful hotel and beautiful location. The two restaurants/bar are great. A little hard to get to some room with a bunch of baggage though lifts and ramps are there. We had a great view from our room and a staff member said it was the best room. Lots of places to sit and hang out outside. Fire pits available etc. There is a shuttle to take you into town and back. Super clean, great room service people. I liked it and would stay again.
Sarah S — Google review
Overall: great! Good: End of October, leaves changing, first frost, great time. Service was excellent: needed extra bedding, no problem. Food was great. Shuttle was good and very convenient. Take the trip up to Anna Ruby Falls ($5/person). It's a short hike, but was good. Bad: Mattress was a bit older inner spring, a bit of a hard time sleeping. Shower did need some caulk to prevent leaking. Could smell someone smoking dope occasionally; no fault of lodge. Overall, a great stay. Would do again.
Matt M — Google review
Great place to stay. Every building (A, B, C) has its own common area where you can sit by the fireplace, watch tv etc. The lodge & rooms have undergone a recent renovation & the rooms are clean & spacious. Breakfast is not included, but if you decide to partake it is buffet style for $16.99 pp. I also love how there are swings on the lawn to sit & relax.

We are enjoying our stay at Unicoi State Park. Our group of 11 rented two cabins (a three bedroom and a 2 bedroom one). Chris handled our check in and was nice and helpful. We drove to our cabins and we were having problems with one of our key cards and JT (maybe one of the cleaning staff?) helped us out. He also kindly carried a case of water for me that started slipping out of my hands. We knew the cabins were rustic so that didn’t bother us. It had what we needed. I stayed at one of the barrel cabins. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a sleeper sofa downstairs. There is only one bathroom and it is located downstairs. Be mindful that that there are a lot of stairs if renting one of these cabins, from getting your stuff to the cabin to climbing to your bedrooms. We made it work but we definitely broke a sweat! The cabins are about 8 minutes from town on windy roads. I was the nights DD and you really do not want to navigate the roads after even with one drink (I didn’t drink anything). The beer hall we went to served NA beer along with other options. We were in the B cabins and the rest of our group was in the C cabins. It was a fairly easy walk between the two. Just be mindful to stay off the paved road. There was some traffic with a blind turn. I had read there wasn’t a lot of seating so we packed camping chairs and used them on the back deck. The deck has two Adirondack chairs and the dinning table had four chairs we could have moved out there. I packed all my toiletries in a separate large canvas bag and that was super helpful since we had to carry it down the steps to use the bathroom/shower. There is a hair drier but it wasn’t very strong. I was glad I packed mine from home. Water pressure and temperature was good. I read people had trouble with cell service but we were fine. Overall this is a nice option if you plan on sating in Helen.

I was at the Lodge for the GRWA conference and was very happy with everything associated with the stay. All the employees, From the front desk to the hospitality staff, were polite and professional, quick to offer assistance. Unfortunately, the weather kept me from taking advantage of the activities offered by the lodge. Overall it was a great experience.

Went for the Zip Line only. I have gone to a few different Zip Lines and this one is definitely my favorite/best. Definitely recommend doing the level 3, the lines are so much better. 1 line is almost 1/2 mile long.

2Alpine Mini Golf

Miniature golf course
Located in the Alpine village of Helen, GA, Alpine Mini Golf offers a unique experience with its 18-hole course designed like an Alpine village. The course features beautiful gardens between holes and even welcomes pets to join in on the fun. After a round of putt-putt, visitors can enjoy a picnic at one of the designated spots within the golf course. The picturesque setting makes it a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike.
We visited 9/21/24 around 9:30 AM and were the first ones to start playing mini golf that day. There is a discount if you pay with cash. It was around 68 when we started to play and around 78 degrees when we finished. There are seats and shaded areas to take breaks from the sun. I imagine it is tougher to play between 11-3 PM on a hot/sunny day. There is a cute overview display case of the miniature golf area inside the start of the store. There were some putting ranges to practice at the start. We spent 1.5 hours playing 18 holes of mini golf. It felt like we were mini golfing in a beautiful park. The area was well kept/maintained, though there were some spiders & webs up in trees. There is a wonderful lady that takes great care of the mini golf course. You could tell they care about the experience for their patrons. If you hold onto your card and revisit later, you get to play again 50% off. It looks very interesting to play at night (not trying to spoil too much, but it's well lit) when we drove past it the evening before so we will be revisiting :]
Bobak E — Google review
The obstacles left us longing for more — they were mostly all straight shots with a little slope or turn, but there is one excellent hill/wiggle/tunnel to the hole in the very back. It’s blazing hot on sunny days in the summer, so an epic choice to have an ice cream shop next door!
Maria R — Google review
Such a charming, adorable, & beautiful mini golf course! Perfect for a date night. We saw that they have an ice cream place & some merch available for sale. Definitely recommend this place for mini golf lovers 😇
Caitlin T — Google review
$25 for two adults was a bit steep. It’s 18 holes that are competitive. The location could use a bit of an update. It’s okay to make some cool changes and still stay with the German theme. We had a great time and we made sure to TAKE are time and not feel rushed. Go during the week!
Sarah — Google review
Such a cute place! Easy to follow course. A few loose bricks here and there, but nothing too bad. Quick to play, and the ice cream shop is adorable. Fun way to spend an hour or so on a sunny day!
Emily T — Google review
My husband and I visited Helen for the first time: we shopped, we ate, we went on the coaster, and we ended our afternoon with a round of mini golf and a scoop of ice cream at Alpine Golf & Scoop De Scoop. The beautiful details of the alpine theme were so fun! The greens are in great shape, and the creek running through the grounds added to the beauty of the experience. Lorelei checked us in and was very pleasant and friendly. We will definitely come back with the kids.
Lisa K — Google review
It had lots of flowers and was pretty. 18 holes with a free game if you get a hole in one on number 8.
Marian G — Google review
A bit underwhelmed by the mini golf options in Helen. This particular course came recommended so I was hoping that it would be better maintained than Bavarian Mountain. It is beautifully landscaped but the greens had lots of debris and even a natural sand trap from heavy rains that had happened several days before. For the price, I would think that would be cleaned up. Putt putt golf used to involve clever obstacles but this course only offers the occasional curve or rolling green. One hole built on the hill had a switchback track but little to challenge adults. No cute windmills to shoot through. There was also an accident on the floor of the women's bathroom that had not been addressed by the staff; I guess that wasn't in their job description which I guess I can understand due to the health hazard, but eww. The pictured hole had a creative two ball design. Make of that what you will. Lol

3Helen Oktoberfest

Festival
Helen Oktoberfest is the longest-running Oktoberfest in the world, lasting for eight weeks from mid-September to early November. The town of Helen transforms into a lively celebration with German music, attire, and dancing. The festival takes place at Helens Festhalle, just a block away from downtown shops and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy traditional German food and beer while experiencing polka dancing, face painting, live music, and parades.
Helen Oktoberfest is a lively festival and well worth the visit. I paid $10 admission on a Thursday, which felt fair for the experience. Food averages around $20 per person, with several traditional sausage options and sides. There are also plenty of beers, both German and American, that really add to the festive vibe. The atmosphere is cheerful, with live music and lots of people in traditional outfits. The Festhalle is the main hub of the celebration, but the whole town joins in. A very fun cultural experience!
Paulo P — Google review
Helen’s Oktoberfest is an absolute blast! The whole town transforms into a mini Bavarian village filled with great music, lively crowds, and authentic German vibes. The atmosphere is super fun and friendly — everyone’s dancing, singing, and enjoying themselves. The beer selection is excellent, and the food (especially the bratwurst, pretzels, and schnitzel) is delicious. The bands playing traditional German tunes make the experience even better — you can’t help but join in the polka! The event is well-organized, and the staff are friendly. Parking can get crowded, so going early or using the shuttle is a good idea. Overall, it’s a must-visit if you’re anywhere near North Georgia in the fall. Great for families during the day and for adults at night. Definitely coming back next year! 🍺🎶🇩🇪
Shuvajeet R — Google review
First time visit and it was great. Meet some really fun people. The bands were all good. Several beer selections, food and a souvenir shop.
Jamie G — Google review
Enjoyed every minute from the general store the bakery the libations the small village feel! Had a blast would definitely return!
Emily P — Google review
The town of Helen is a whole vibe during this time of year. I’d suggest exploring downtown, eating some yummy food, visit a Beer Garden, and people watch instead of paying the admission fee to get in the actual festival hall. But to each their own! It’s all a good time!
Brandie A — Google review
The most fun you can have in a place can be found here. We had a blast.
Jay H — Google review
The best time you can imagine. Even better when you come as a group. Easy to make friends there. Lots of authentic German food and people. Highly recommend going. Helen is a beautiful town and has waterfall near by
Moore P — Google review
A lot more laid back of an event than I expected, more kid friendly than I expected. Fest Hall that it's in is kinda vintage looking and cute. The German beer, leiberkase, and German potato salad I got were not very good. The Molly B band was great and dancing was great! I was disappointed that the big pretzel was Superpretzel brand (or at least that's what the display case had on it), thought they were going to be homemade/authentic and each pretzel was $13 plain (w/o dip), that seems crazy expensive. Draft beer was almost $9 before tip. Desserts were too crazy expensive too for what you get. The only thing that smelled good were the warm cinnamon nuts but they only had peanuts and almonds, no cashews. Thank goodness we went on Sunday and it was free to get in that day or I would have been sick to spend $15 per person just to get in on top of the food/beer cost. I liked the place, band, and dancing but not worth the price if I had to pay to get in, it should be more like $5 to get in at the most since you pay for your food/drink once your in. I think they should get into the spirit of it more and offer authentic German pretzels at a fair price. Leiberkase was described somewhere that i read as like a meatloaf but it was actually like a thick piece of bologna.

Water park
Helen Tubing offers tubing trips down the Chattahoochee River next to the waterpark it owns. The waterpark has slides, a lazy river and a kiddie play area. Admission to Helen Tubing includes free tubing down the river.
Met Dana Murray at the water park and honestly, they made the whole day way more fun. Super cool energy, down-to-earth, easy to vibe with, and just a genuinely fun person to be around. Whether we were racing down slides or just chilling between rides, they brought good laughs and good company. Some people you meet in passing, and some leave a lasting impression — Dana Murray is definitely the second kind. 10/10 would slide again.
John W — Google review
Did the 2 hour tube ride. Super fun. Be sure to check the river level before you go. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Buy the stick!!! The only down side is the amount of tubers! We went when they first opened. There were about 10 ppl who put in at the same time. About an hour in is the launch for the other tubing company. And that's when it got crowded. Like bumper cars at one point. All and all fun activity and would recommend on a hot day.
Vikki D — Google review
Went for my grandsons 15th birthday... the kids loved the place.. but of course, the food and drink are overpriced! Cost us about $215 total for the day for 7 bodies ( entrance and food ). It's not too bad. Like I said, the kids had fun.. but one would think since it's a "water park" 1. There would be more water attractions.. 2. Some splash pads!! Just saying 🤨
Tammy — Google review
A little bit small but my kids still had a blast. There is one lazy river with two slides and two tube slides. My kids played again again and again with basically no wait time. Staff on the top was very nice to explain how to sit and grab the double tubes as we are the first time players.
Yanmin A — Google review
We did the tubing on the river. I can say that it is something I checked off my bucket list. I can't swim so I wore a life jacket as some spots were deep while others were very, very low. Those low areas were difficult to navigate across as I got stuck numerous times on rocks. I would say it was more of a work out than just a leisure stroll down the river. Definitely ensure you buy the 5.00 stick cause you will need it. Took me 3 hours to get all the way down the river. Was a good experience but I don't know if I would do it again.
Shinnal L — Google review
We had a lot of fun. However, the park is fairly small, and there isn't much to do for smaller kids who are afraid of the big slides. They have a two story playground but it is for children 4 and under, I have a 6 year old who is afraid of slides and she got bored pretty early on, however, there were no other kids on the playground so they allowed her to use it which was very nice.
Claudia B — Google review
The employees are very friendly and helpful. They have a general store that sells most things needed for the park. I paid $18.75 for me and $13.75 for my 4 year old (or anyone under 42 inches). Everyone gets a wristband to wear and the price is for the entire day so you can leave and come back. They are open from 9am to 5pm. They have a very large covered playground for kids and a concession stand as well. The only issue for me is that you have to go down a lot of steps to get to the water and to get to the bathrooms you have to go back up those steps and down another set that is off to the side. The lazy river was our favorite thing to do.
Krys F — Google review
If your grandparents like us, you will want to stay away. Unless you buy a swim pass. Required even if you won't be swimming. You will be relegated to sitting on a balcony with plenty of fans for employees, but none for grandma and grandpa. Attendance was light this day, and the boys never found anyone to play with, so they were ready to do something else fairly soon.

Charlemagne's Kingdom is a captivating Alpine model railroad museum located in the Georgia Mountains. The 50-foot exhibit showcases HO Scale German Model Railroads, offering a detailed depiction of Germany's diverse terrain and architecture. Crafted by Willi and Judi Lindhorst, the museum presents miniature villages, cable cars, railroad tracks, mountains, and rivers.
Super cute. And SO MUCH DETAIL. When we went I think there was only 1 train working? But honestly it didn't even matter. There's just SO much to look at. Definitely worth the cost of entry. I'm pretty sure we spent a good 2-3 hrs in there, and there were loads of little fun things hidden around that kept the toddler completely occupied.
Liz C — Google review
Great place to visit. I was a little disappointed as they only had one train going when we went, but instead of charging us they asked for donations. Anyway the work and the level of detail is amazing. Definately a must see when you are in Helen!
Tom H — Google review
Made me go back to my childhood! I was so excited by the whole setup - I used to dream of stuff like this as a kid. This exhibit is a little old and faded but still beautiful. I can only imagine all the love the owner has poured into this setup. Don't miss a chance to see it. Quietly take the whole scene in. Don't miss the football (soccer) ground!
Naveen R — Google review
Amazing model train setup with an incredible amount of detail. Being able to go look at it from the upper balcony is neat, since it gives you a better overall view and lets you see things you cant from the floor level.
Marie C — Google review
Very enjoyable experience. Was not expecting to be entertained as much. I'm not really interested in model trains, but the exhibit is very well done and there's lots to see. Would not recommend for young children since they won't be able to see over the railing. If you do bring small children, expect to hold them up most of the time so they can see the exhibit. There's several trains that move around tracks which can be entertaining. It's all enclosed in one room which you walk around. If in the area, I would recommend stopping by. It's not free, so expect to pay before heading in.
Zoila R — Google review
The more time you spend here, the more you will appreciate the beauty of it. There is so much detail to everything, like people playing, an accident, fire at a building, farmers etc. When I visited, there were only 2 trains running, it would so much better when they have all the trains up and running, but the cashier gave a discount to make it up.
Altaf A — Google review
Fun place for railfans of all ages. Great details with a lot of whimsical touches. Not having a restroom hurts the rating by a star, but the delight my youngest shared at discovering all the little surprises earns a solid 4 stars.
John G — Google review
We had a great time here with our 4 kids. Ask for the scavenger hunt. The museum has a gift shop with Melissa and Doug train sets and some rock themed gifts. The model train room has two levels where we could see the mountain town from above and below. There were three trains running and the kids love following them around the room. We stayed for over an hour. Had to bribe the kids out of there. So many little things to see. The setup has some wear and tear but overall well maintained. Bathroom is off the gift shop. And can buy drinks there too. If you like this review tap the thumbs up.

A wonderful video on how Helen GA came to be, was a great explanation and such interesting background! I always assumed Helen was founded by a German immigrant. Now I know..."the REST of the story!" 😉

This is of the museum only. Firstly, I always enjoy local history museums and this one did not disappoint. It had a brief history of Helen before it decided to transform itself, but most of the museum is about that, how the town transformed itself from just another dying small town into a tourist destination. Just fascinating with many period photograph and the original art which inspired the transformation. Recommended for history and marketing buffs.

Lots of local art to view or purchase. Informative videos about the area. Pair of lederhosen on display from the guy who turned it into a German town. Kind of cool. Don’t miss the heritage of the town! Must see.

Cool River Tubing & Adventures - Headwaters Outpost & Cafe offers a thrilling experience for adventure seekers. The 24-foot climbing wall provides a challenging test of strength and skill, while the zipline courses offer an adrenaline-pumping aerial adventure. Guests can also enjoy the popular activity of river tubing on the scenic Chattahoochee River, with options for group tubing experiences.
I went here with my sister and we enjoyed ourselves. We did the Big Adventure and it was definitely challenging (given that we were first timers, not outdoorsy and not very athletic). After spending about 5 mins laughing before heading up the first set of steps, thinking what have we gotten ourselves into, we were able to progress through each section successfully, albeit VERY slowly. The zip line at the end made it all worth it. After, we found solace in hearing we were not the slowest, not by a long shot 😅 but this was a one and done situation. Although I doubt we'll try it again, we did enjoy ourselves.
Sweetshar21 — Google review
Always a good time! We did the 2-hour float ,but be prepared to work in some areas a lot of rock. I would suggest renting the stick for $5 and a life vest for smaller kids. Some areas were a little deeper. Fun way to cool off on a hot day!
Tyeisha L — Google review
Pink or Green, which should it be? Cool River won out because they offer both a half and full river tubing adventure. We didn't have a lot of time, so having that option was fantastic. Water levels were a bit low, so you had to pull or push yourself along in some instances, but it sure was a great adventure. Highly recommend.
Christian J — Google review
Our two kids and I had such a great time on the “Big” ropes course. It was our younger son’s first non-little-kiddie course, and it was a bit much for him. Thankfully a guide came to his rescue, talked very calmly and positively, and helped him finish. According to our nervous child, “this was the best day ever. Can we do it again?” Maybe next time, kid 😉 We absolutely enjoyed some ice cream afterwards and also enjoyed tubing the next day.
Maria R — Google review
The best tubing company! The tubes hold heavier people easily, are very sturdy and didn’t flip. Tried both tubing companies on 2hr floats and Cool River was the best! Get the stick!! You will need it. The Headwater cafe has THE BEST turkey sandwiches I’ve ever had! fresh baked bread! We actually went there just for lunch one day because no one in our group likes German food.

Staff was great! There's a short float (1hour) and a longer float around 2 hours all same price. We did the short float with a 3 & 12 year old and had no issues. Water level was low around 1-3 feet deep but nothing effected the float. We went Aug 1st and weather was great with a very light rain on the float.. it was perfect.

First time tubing and it was super fun! I was worried about the low current, so I was recommended to take the short trip, but I decided to go with the long one instead. It took a little over 2.5 hours and was totally worth it. A stick is a must—you’ll get stuck a lot, seriously a lot. The store has clean restrooms, dressing rooms, and even a shower in the back of the building (though it’s open with no curtain). Parking is plentiful, and at just $14 on weekdays, it’s super affordable! But... the bus driver was so rude!

I visited Cool River Tubing earlier last month while in Helen and had a great overall experience. Right from the start, we met Kim, who was an absolute joy to talk to. She recommended some really cool places to check out in town and made us feel welcome right away. Once on the river, I had an issue with my tube not staying inflated, which I wasn’t pleased about. At the halfway point, we then encountered a young woman from a local college who was having a medical issue with three friends who didn’t have a cell phone. Larry happened to be there dropping off tubers and immediately offered assistance. Watching how quickly and happily he stepped in left a huge impression on me and showed the character of this company. When we returned, I spoke with staff about my tube issue. They offered me a refund, but I told them I would be coming back for another try the next day. They happily gave me a pass to return and were understanding and professional about the situation. What impressed me most was how they seemed to genuinely care not only about their customers but about people as a whole. That level of service and compassion is refreshing and the reason I would highly recommend Cool River Tubing.

The Hardman Farm Heritage Trail offers a journey back in time to the 1870s, showcasing life without modern amenities. The site features well-preserved furniture and light fixtures, providing insight into the lives of three influential families who once resided there. This historic attraction spans 173 acres and includes a dairy barn from 1870, an Italianate-style house that belonged to Anna Ruby's family, and the ancient Nacoochee Mound burial site.
Great easy walking trail for all ages. Free parking and access. It’s about .8 miles one way. Lots of cool history along the trail and great views of the river. Restrooms at the visitor center on the Hardman historical site.

My husband and I love walking here! Most of the trail is shaded and you can hear the river running by. It is delightful!

It's such a beautiful trail and it's easy to walk. There usually aren't a lot of people here either, so it's peaceful.

Oh, this trail is NICE ! Level, paved trail with occasional boardwalks. City of Helen is very proud of this gorgeous walk and keeps it clean. If you haven't been, come for a walk and bring your (leashed) dog. They love it too !

Really an ideal trail for a short run or for skateboarding (~1 mile each way, easy grades). Well designed, well maintained, well paved. Plenty of interpretive markers about the history of gold, railroading, and agriculture in the area. Beautiful views of the Chattahoochee River and a waterfall, and Nacoochee Village (inaccessible from the trail itself). Observation decks and places to sit are available, and the trail managers have built a nice boardwalk section also. The historic farm at one end of the trail itself is worth checking out separately. Four stars instead of five for lack of services on the trail, and a little bit of a remote area if the farm is not open on a given day (and the least populated area of Helen on the other end of the trail).

The Hardman Farm Heritage Trail is kid friendly. It’s a super short trail that’s wide and winding next to the river. We started on the North side in Helen, GA and walked to the South side at Hardman Farms. Along the way there were some plaques you can read as well as a section that you can jump to see how far you jump as compared to different animals (see the picture attached). This is the perfect trail for a toddler just learning to hike as well as for other hikers who are just stretching their legs. Have fun on the Hardman Farm Heritage Trail!

The Heritage Trail Zander the mansion are great places to visit. The trail we took was about 2 miles, and is a cement walkway, with wooden bridges, so it is literally a walk in the park :) Throughout the trail are historical signs with info on the wildlife, the river, etc. During the trail there are rest stops and benches. At one end is the mansion and the store, so you can visit that, get some drinks, books and more. A fun time for the family!

I've been visiting Helen for over 30 years, and I can't believe I just discovered this today. The crazy July 4th traffic diverted us to this little gem. We had a picnic lunch in the gazebo and then hiked the paved, mostly-shaded trail. It was idyllic as you walk along the Chattahoochee river. Glimpses of Nacoochee buildings, waterfalls and rocky river beds, plus gorgeous trees all around. The trail ends at the Hardman Farm Historic Site, about one mile away (which has restrooms and a gift shop). It's an easy hike for our family (teens down to one year old). Please help keep it clean.

Perfectly located on top of a hill in Helen GA. The arcade and golf course are very well maintained. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They offer 2 courses to play, we chose the advanced with the waterfall. Perfect views of downtown Helen.

This place is NOT in good shape. Came to pay mini golf only to be greated by a less than happy-to-be working young lady. Came outside to start playing only to find the courses in horrible conditions. I can't believe this place gets such great reviews. My son even came back in to swap out putters and saw the young lady taking a nap. Too bad I can't give it zero stars.

This course was definitely really beautiful at one point, but it’s starting to feel a bit outdated now. That said, the mountain views were absolutely amazing (especially with a beautiful sunset)and made the whole experience worth it. The staff was wonderful ( According to the other reviews I think her name was Lisa. ) super friendly and helpful. Had a great time with my family and made some awesome memories. Would love to come back if they did a little updating!

After hiking and seeing waterfalls, we stopped in for the first time. 4 adults. The staff was very helpful and kind. Thank y'all and it was a pleasure meeting you. The games were fun. Put put is one of the best I've been on. The music playing took me back in time. Haven't heard them oldies since the 70s. I'm in my 60s. Very nice.

Nestled in the backstreets of Helen, Northeast Georgia, Alpine Fun Factory is a family favorite destination offering a variety of attractions suitable for kids of all ages. From fast go-karts for adults and older kids to amateur go-karts for the younger ones, there's something for everyone. The center also boasts a Call of Duty-themed laser tag arena, an extensive arcade with over 40 games, and a Bounce Zone.
Me and my son and parents had an awesome time at Helen Fun Factory! My son enjoyed the arcade, laser tag and go karts! We got the package where you get three go kart rides, 1 train ride and laser tag! My son loved it and we will definitely be back!!! The employees are great!

It was way expensive we could have went to Pigeon Forge for her to ride 3 rides for $25. Never again. Didn't see no bowling, skating, or Lazer tag. There wasn't no snake bar they had chips and stuff up there at the counter thats it. NEVER AGAIN WE WILL STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE WAST OF MONEY. Yes daughter had fun told her this was the LAST TIME here.
Stephanie R — Google review
Our first time visiting Helen Fun Factory the last week of December and we had the best time. Plenty of things to do including arcade, indoor go-karts for adults and smaller kids, train rides, bouncy houses, roller skating, and laser tag. Prices are very reasonable and there’s literally fun for all ages. We enjoyed the indoor go-karts but had the most fun in laser tag. The set up was awesome, the environment was so fun and the guns we used were very life like in looks. Even my 8 yr old little girl who played for the first time ever had a blast. And, if you break the record for most kills, you get to spray paint your initials and kill number anywhere in the set up. We will definitely revisit this place in the future!
Julie C — Google review
We found this place online while looking for something to do on a bad weather day with the kids.... I'm really glad we found it. As a kid from the 90s, it was great to see an arcade with laser tag, bounce houses, arcade games, air hockey, and a rollee skating rink under one roof. They also have some memorabilia and what not around the place...which was cool to see as well. Most importantly though....The staff there was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The kids had an absolute ball....and (to us) prices were not insane. You get 5 tokens for a dollar. Most machines take 4 tokens per play. You can get tickets for the various rides and attractions ... I would have given them 5 stars, but the place does still need some more repairs and maintenance. But the general vibe of the place is awesome and I hope to see them keep up the vision of a family friendly fun zone
Jon D — Google review
Took our grandkids here yesterday. They had SO MUCH FUN! The staff were amazing patient with the little ones, and the carts were new and ELECTRIC! The whole place was extremely clean, too! There’s a skate rink and bounce house in the next building, too..
David B — Google review
Don’t waste your money here! The entire place was still under renovation. The bounce houses were kind of lack luster, with only a couple things to do for 15 dollars. When we were heading to the laser tag we went through several hallways that reeked of mildew and water stains and I even bruised my knee pretty bad on the sad wood cut-outs that they called “hiding places”. With the arcade lots of the machines were not working leaving practically nothing to do in that area. On the upside the staff was pretty nice but that’s the only good thing you’ll get from this dump. I wouldn’t even recommend this place to my worse enemy. Alpine “fun” factory just feels like a place loosely tied together by one sad and misleading title.
Leo — Google review
What a great time! My husband and I were in Helen for Oktoberfest and wanted to do something other than wander up and down the strip and eat… and drink, lol. We went to the Alpine Fun Factory, spent $20 on 100 tokens and had an awesome time playing all kinds of arcade games for the afternoon! The Walking Dead game is my favorite, it’s a cabinet game where you sit and the controllers are crossbows. I was excited to find that here, we also got to play the Jurassic Park cabinet game, Big Game Hunter, a ride-on motorcycle racing game, Pac-Man, and a lot of the hands-on classics like the basketball hoop toss game, Down a Clown and a game that looked a lot like beer pong and tried to win a stuffed animal from the claw machine, but y’all know how tough that is! I learned that I would be a great person to have on hand in a zombie apocalypse, and I can defend you against dinosaurs, but if I have to hunt for my dinner, I’m pretty bad at shooting elk and even worse at shooting targets with a rifle. We earned about 100 tickets for some of the games we played, and we were able to get two packets of Fun Dip as our prize! What a great day! There is also indoor go kart racing, both a small kids track, and a larger track for teens and adults. It wasn’t crowded when we were there - there’s a lot of room to spread out and all the games worked well, which was exciting. If you’ve ever been to an arcade where a lot of things are broken that can be really frustrating, but we did not deal with that here at all! I would definitely go back. The price was great. The staff were nice and the games are awesome! Thank you for a fun afternoon!
Lisa G — Google review
Let me start by saying if you're nostalgic about the 80s and 90s then this is the place for you! If you're expecting something new and pretentious, stay away unless you can have an open mind and enjoy what's being provided. With that said, we love this place! Indoor go-carts, tons of arcade games, a few pool tables, an air hockey table, mixed with a few old cars, and a throwback skating rink that hits you in the right place. Everyone working here was extremely friendly and helpful. We were extremely grateful to have someplace like this to bring our small kids on such a cold day. We will definitely be back in the future and tell everyone we know about it!

Museum
Uhuburg, also known as Eagle Owl Castle, is a stunning architectural marvel that took 14 years to construct. This weekend destination offers tours of its beautifully landscaped gardens, walking trails, and the castle itself. Visitors can't miss the Lookout Tower for breathtaking views of the North Georgia mountains. The castle's picturesque setting makes it a popular spot for photography enthusiasts and fantasy photoshoots. The owner, Bob, provides informative tours and plans to further develop the grounds in the future.
We arrived right before they opened the gates to park and had a wonderful time and stayed on the tour with the creator of the castle while he shares things about it all. This was totally an AWESOME place to visit and they even hold renaissance fairs there too which I would love to attend one day. There are so many detailed things to see and explore and while this is not for everyone, as not all things ever are, I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Everyone there is great and happy because they love to be there for us to share the wealth of knowledge about it all from the gardens and types of plants to other aspects of the castle! I am glad they have this to share with the world and when you visit, keep an open mind and you will have fun. There is a room people can book to stay in at the castle and they make food using their own garden vegetables and fruit as well. My wife and I really enjoyed talking to the creators daughter as well and I am sorry to her that we forgot her name but she has such a beautiful soul and a delight to converse with! Also they have a “dragon tree” in the center of the castle and I believe these are the same ones in Dr. Seuss books. I know about that because I am from San Diego, Ca and when you visit the San Diego Zoo they talk about these trees. They clean the air from toxins as well. See photos at the end for this tree.

Wow!!! This place was cool. Went to kill an hour or so but there was so much do see & do there we stayed 3 hours. Beautiful grounds with something awesome around every corner. The staff was amazing and made it really fun. You can take the tours that go on periodically through out the day if you like for free. They had a sword demonstration. The views from the tower were amazing. I highly recommend visiting. Coolest part of our trip to Helen by far.

We stayed Thursday thru Sunday on a girls trip. We had 6 of us :-) Hope we didn't drive you guys crazy. We are pretty loud together. The laughter was strong. We had a great time! While like most said its a little higher than other things but for us it was the experience. Highly recommend. No tourist type entertainment but I think we loved it more for that! We explored the property and explored some more. We saw something new every time. The breakfast every morning was fabulous! We loved to listen to Bob's stories! Naomi was fantastic getting us settled in. All in all a 10 for us. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We loved every part of the experience! Thank you guys for a great time.

Absolutely loved visiting Uhuburg Castle! The scenery was stunning, and there were so many great photo opportunities all around the property. The shuttle service from the parking area was a nice touch and made getting to the castle super easy. The staff were all wonderful—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. It was such a great experience overall. Highly recommend visiting!

This place is AWESOME!! The staff was so fun and Bob was a great tour guide. He really inspired me to visit the library and relearn some different topics and investigate some new ones!! The castle itself was beautiful and I would love to come back and stay! Ethan was a great help with questions and even took our picture in the great hall when we couldn’t figure out the timer on our phone. Haha. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. ;) Some hints would be to go early n buy your tickets online ahead of time. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes so you can walk everywhere.

It was just wonderful! I’ve never seen a Castle up close before. I saw some in southern Italy when I was there, from the road. This was a great experience. You can even spend the night, when they have rooms available! I loved the Grape Vineyard & the Muscadine grapes were delicious! We met the owner/builder & his wife & daughter. They were very warm & friendly. You could wander around on your own or follow a tour guide, or both! I listened in on some of the tour guides showing the Murals on the different walls. One was Native American Culture. Another was Japanese & Chinese & then one of Middle Eastern beliefs. It was very interesting & educational.

We stayed overnight at Uhuburg in the Queen room and it was a magical experience. The staff was lovely and extremely helpful. The room was beautiful, majestic, and very comfortable. I think the best part of staying there was the opportunity to walk the grounds and see the interior of the castle by ourselves. It felt like our own private castle. Also, it was amazing to see Uhuburg at night with the sky full of stars.

I never knew that there was a castle in Helen, Georgia until this trip... Decided to go up there. The drive is quick from town. Then you go to a parking lot, and a shuttle takes you the rest of the way which is only a couple of minutes. It cost me $35. You can tour by yourself or take a tour of different rooms or of the grounds and it's included in your price. No, pets are allowed and the castle itself has several rooms that you can actually stay in if you want to experience a bed and breakfast in a castle... The couple who own it, spent 15 years building the place and it opened about 2 years ago. They also have different events at the castle throughout the year. Fine to go to once. Evidently the castle has become a non profit.

A must do when you come to Helen, GA We have been on many food tours all over the place and generally, Food Tours can get kind of large and you can easily be overlooked but this time we got lucky and there was only 4 of us so it felt extra private and we really enjoyed that much more than we would have with a group of 10 -12 Tobie was our tour guide and was absolutely exceptional. She was friendly and very welcoming from the moment that we sat down until we said goodbye. Tobie was a wealth of information and you could tell that she genuinely enjoys what she does. She is the Jane of all trades and knows a little bit of this and a little bit of that. She took us to all of the best spots in Helen and made a lot of great suggestion at every stop. The food was tasty. The goulash at the very beginning of the tour was my absolute favorite and the apple strudel with the vanilla ice cream at the end was the perfect ending to the tour. I liked the reuben sandwich as well. 10 out of 10 I would definitely do again!

We especially loved the selections from Château Elan, including Spring Blossom (Strawberry), Duncan Creek Rose, Berry Bliss, and Tropical Breeze; each one unique and bursting with character. What made the visit even more special was being able to bring our two kids along and still enjoy ourselves in a laid-back, family-friendly environment. We left with happy hearts, great memories, and a bottle to take home. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Helen — we’ll definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sweet Acres Winery Tasting in Helen, GA, and it was a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere enveloped us. The rustic charm of the winery, nestled in the beautiful backdrop of the Georgia mountains, set the perfect tone for a delightful afternoon. The wine selection was impressive, featuring a variety of local wines that showcased the unique flavors of the region. Our host, Beth, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about each wine, sharing her insight. She also gave great recommendations on places to visit in the area. I had a flight of the Bullhead, sweet blueberry, sweet a** blackberry (my favorite), lemon blueberry, and lemon peach. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking for a lovely afternoon outing, I highly recommend stopping by. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their offerings! Cheers to a delightful experience! 🍷✨

Excellent quality of wines and you can taste the love, sweat, and hard work in each drink! The owner is knowledgeable, passionate about his wines, and is very welcoming - and his dog is awesome! We had a flight each so managed to taste all 10 wines and get souvenir glasses for $24 in total. This is definitely the way to go if you are new to fruity wines or have just not had theirs before. Each is really unique and you don't get a full appreciation of the taste just by the description. We ended up buying 4 bottles and would certainly look this place up for ordering more wine in the future when back home👌👌

Great experience! Loved trying new wines made from everything but a grape! Staff (I wish we got her name) was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, warm, and very friendly. She completely sold me on purchasing the Pear Mead. We definitely plan to return in the future.

My fiancé and I were kid free for the afternoon and decided to go for a quick wine tasting at the Sweet Acre Farms Winery Tasting Room. The service was AMAZING. Staff was super friendly and their sweet wines were to die for! Besides, who doesn’t love a free wine glass to take home? We may go back tomorrow to grab a few more bottles before we head back to FL!
