Cafe
Cafe International is a popular and lively eatery located on the water, offering a wide variety of European sandwiches and dinner entrees. Situated in Helen, Georgia's entertainment center, this casual restaurant overlooks the river and features a large deck where patrons can enjoy their meals while watching tubers go by during the summer months. The menu includes options such as hamburgers, salads, hummus, seafood, and their signature sandwich 'The Best Reuben Ever.'
Second time here! Great view of the river and tubers. Our family enjoyed our lunch: Bavarian pretzel was large and tasty. We also had the Reuben, German Wurst Platter, and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. All very good. Server Lucas took great care of us!

Didn’t like the food at all, ordered black bean burger. On the menu said , comes with tomato onion lettuce cheese , but nothing on the burgers, just a bread and burger. Nachos were salty. Margarita was not good at all. The service was horrible. The waitress didn’t come to ask if everything was okay. Only good thing about this place is that it’s by the river. So you can enjoy the view. We enjoy the view but not the food.
N V — Google review
It is a good location but service was a bit slow. There were several pieces of hair in my salad so that was a bummer. The salad bowl also looked really dirty. Not sure if it was dirty or just stained. The rest of my party had sandwiches which all were good. Overall would probably not go again.
Kaitlyn C — Google review
Food was fine. Not authentic German, but neither is the town. :) The German potato salad was really good, and the pretzel with butter and salt was delicious. The view over the river was really lovely. We enjoyed watching the water on the rocks while we waited for our food.

Nostalgic Spot With Great Potential, But Needs Some Kitchen Attention I’ve been coming to Café International since I was a kid, and it’s always held a special place in my heart. My dad has loved their Reuben sandwich for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, on this visit the Reuben was about half the size it used to be, which was disappointing for something that’s always been a go-to favorite. I ordered the BLT, and while the flavor was good, the portion didn’t quite match the price. Two slices of bacon and a tomato sliced in half just isn’t worth over $10. We also ordered a Hefeweizen, but it came out pretty flat and didn’t taste like a true Hefeweizen at all. The location is still great, and the atmosphere hasn’t lost its charm, but it feels like the kitchen could use a little extra attention and care. With a bit more consistency and love, this place could shine the way it used to.
Amanda — Google review
this experience at Cafe International was so disappointing that I feel the need to speak up. We brought a friend who’s visiting from another country, and we thought this would be a nice place to treat him. We each ordered a coffee for $7 which, even in the U.S., is expensive but especially for our friend, that’s a big amount of money where he’s from. We wanted him to have a good experience, and instead, we were just embarrassed. The coffee was honestly the most watered-down thing I’ve ever been served. Light in color, no richness, no flavor — it tasted like plain tap water. We weren’t rude when we brought it up, we simply asked if they could replace it or give us a refund. Instead, the staff walked up and literally grabbed the coffees off our table right in front of us, and said, “Since you’ve been sipping on it, we can only refund half.” No apology, no understanding, just attitude. I’ve worked in customer service — I get it, not every day is perfect. But this felt like they couldn’t care less. We left the place feeling embarrassed, especially for our guest. To pay that much for such poor quality and to be treated that way? It just didn’t sit right.
Juandiego B — Google review
I have been coming to Helen for 37 years. We always love coming to the International Cafe. Mainly, because we love the atmosphere. Sitting at a riverside table. This time, we had a grouchy greeting by a NOT friendly hostess. After a arm wrestle for a river view seat, we were lucky to get Lucas as our server. Lucas saved the day. I ordered my "usual". Bratwurst, red cabbage and pretzel with a Chardonnay. All was perfect except the pretzel was too hard. I didn't complain but took it back to the hotel and heated in microwave to soften. We got a good laugh when Lucas told us he is 29 after he carded me (a 70 year old) and then I let him know I have made a annual trip to Helen for the last 37 years. He was a cute kid who saved the day from that grouchy gal (rough around the edges) who greeted us. We loved watching the tubers going over the short fall in the river. Food is average, drinks good (brother had a German beer) but the location is five stars. Ask for Lucas! "Bring back those festive greeters who made coming to the International Cafe something to look forward to" .

Nestled beneath a bridge by the Chattahoochee River, The Troll Tavern offers a casual and scenic dining experience. This riverfront pub is renowned for its German-inspired menu, featuring dishes like Bavarian Pretzel and Bratwurst Burger. Guests can savor an array of flavorful selections including nachos, wraps, seafood, and steak while enjoying picturesque views of the river from the outdoor patio.
Our food was amazing. Drinks even more so. Service was impeccable!!! Our waiter was body very patient and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely have to come back. We got the goblin burger, chicken fingers as well as the German Chocolate martini. . . Made with one of the best coconut rums I've ever tasted. The bar tender was great! Definitely a must eat place when visiting Helen.

It was pretty nice. I sat outside next to the water by the bridge which was really nice after a long day of walking around town. Beer selection was good. The fries appetizer was really good. I got the entree where you get the cutlet and 2 sausages, which is a $30 meal which is a lot for me, but it was a lot of food. The meal itself was alright. I’m not huge on German food but if you are, then you’ll like it.

★★★★★ We had a great time at Troll Tavern. The location next to the river is fantastic for a relaxed vibe. The service was friendly and efficient from the moment we walked in. We tried Paulaner Oktoberfest and the strawberry cocktail for drinks—both were excellent. The kohlwurst was delicious and really authentic. The Reuben was one of the best my wife has had. Overall, would definitely recommend coming back for lunch and drinks.
Nick T — Google review
If you want to enjoy anything from a crispy burger with fries to a delicious salmon, this is a great spot. The view is incredible, right by the river, and pairs perfectly with a good beer. I would have given 5 stars, but the way they call guests to be seated is not ideal. The hosts have to shout names from outside the restaurant, and with all the noise from people passing by the river, it can be hard to hear—there’s no modern system to notify diners, so it’s easy to miss your turn. Despite this, the food and atmosphere make it worth a visit.
Erika L — Google review
We stopped into the Troll Tavern for lunch during Oktoberfest. We didn’t have to wait to be seated. We enjoyed our seat outside on the patio by the water. Drinks were good, food was delicious. The Reuben was hot and juicy! The perfect amount of food! Service was a little slower than to be desired but we were in no rush. Overall good experience and would come back.

This is a must eat at when visiting Helen. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside by the river to watch the tubers float by and it was very enjoyable. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He answered all our questions throughly abd checked on us during our dine in to make sure everything was exceptional. The portions are very generous and we all took half of our plates back to the room with us. From the appetizers to the main course was absolutely delicious! Authentic German dining that anyone who is visiting should experience!
Kristina L — Google review
We came on a Sunday evening of Oktoberfest. We didn’t have to wait long, but it took over an hour for our food to be done, and the restaurant was thinned out by then. But the waiter and food was great. Rueben was excellent, chipped corned beef, and horse made thousand Island!!! No complaints on the food. Bathrooms were clean. A great stop.
Jessica P — Google review
Wasn't sure where to go. We ended up at The Troll Tavern. Couldn't find it at first, had to call to find out where they were, once we got there we sat outside. Waitress was very polite and pleasant. The atmosphere out there with the running water was very nice. Husband ordered the trout rice in a salad and I got the grilled salmon rice and a salad, the food was seasoned very nicely. We had a good time.

Mully's Nacoochee Grill offers a unique dining experience with its elevated Southern cuisine served in a restored farmhouse setting. The restaurant is known for putting a new twist on classic American dishes, offering modern American cuisine made with local farm-to-table ingredients. Guests can enjoy porch dining and a full bar while indulging in dishes like smoked chicken nachos, coconut fried shrimp, hand-patted burgers, grilled local rainbow trout, filet mignon, and southern shrimp and grits.
Mully’s Nacoochee Grill is a “must visit” in the Helen/Cleveland GA area if you’re looking for an outstanding meal with wonderful entertainment and the best host! The menu is filled with wonderful gourmet southern inspired selections. The seafood dishes are especially outstanding and even if you have to order them on the side, don’t leave without trying some of the exquisite grits!! Make sure you try the crab cakes, trout and the mahi with a glass of wine from the extensive selection. The owner, “Mully”, makes sure every customer leaves feeling like a friend and has a night to remember.

Last night, we couldn't decide on what to eat, so I literally just pulled up restaurants and scrolled down and stopped on Mully's. Best thing to ever happen! Thank you, Mully, for coming out to say hello and making sure we were fine. I enjoyed the whole experience. Great food, great music, ( live at that) and wonderful service! Will definitely be back!

First, make a reservation to come here. It’s a great little place to eat. A little on the upscale side, with great food, wine and some art. We loved it BUT we did not get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked as they’ve musician the night we went and they sat us in the same room and it was VERY loud. My husband didn’t like that because you couldn’t talk or anything. Other than that it was pleasant and the food was very good. We would go back here again just hopefully get seated in a different spot.

What a beautiful experience! This is our new favorite restaurant! Everything was just perfect. Beautiful, peaceful atmosphere with absolute best staff who truly cares. We were treated as old friends. Truly grateful. The food is worth raving over until the next time I’m able to go- and then I’ll rave some more. The best crab cakes that I’ve ever had- and the shrimp and grits were full of flavor and HUGE SHRIMP. My husbands ribeye was beyond outstanding. He ate the fat and all! Homemade mashed potatoes that were full of flavor and a gorgeous salad. The drinks were amazing as well. This is a MUST.

Highly recommend making a reservation we were visiting from out of town and waited about 30 mins for a table for 2 at 6:30pm. Very cozy, romantic, & comfortable restaurant. Loved the live music as well. The owner came to our table and thanked us for coming as well as bringing food to tables can tell he puts his everything into the restaurant.

Wife and I enjoyed our visit. Really liked the atmosphere. Piano player was wonderful and a nice touch. Food and service were very good. Owner came around and thanked us for our business. It was a nice change to be appreciated as a customer. Seems to be lacking at many businesses these days. Would recommend and will eat there again.

I can’t say enough about this place. I went there a little less than two weeks ago and our server Lindsay was amazing. Personality was very pleasant and friendly, and she recommended the crabcake appetizer as well as the shrimp and grits and a couple other items for the three of us, and every recommendation was absolutely amazing. I advise anyone that goes to this place to ask for Lindsay because her service and work ethics are on point and hard to come by these days!!! They should be happy to have her on board!!! Btw we were in town visiting family and came from NJ 👍👍👍💯
Michael D — Google review
Fried green tomato appetizer was amazing. My wife had the shrimp and grits and it was good. I had the tortellini in Alfredo sauce. It was pretty bland. Barely any Alfredo. Some pieces didn’t have any and the rest was like someone lightly coated it with a paint brush. And then to add grilled chicken with no flavor doesn’t make sense. I would not get the tortellini.

Bigg Daddys Restaurant & Tavern is a lively bar and grill offering a diverse menu of innovative American dishes, an extensive selection of beers, and a spacious outdoor patio. The restaurant is known for its delicious drunken mussels, New Orleans-style BBQ shrimp, cajun-dusted seared tuna, and a variety of tasty burgers that can be customized for vegetarian and pescatarian preferences.
Great spot for great food! We timed it right and got right in before a big crowd...they are able to sit large groups, which is great for all the vacationers we saw in town. The staff were friendly and hopping. Our server checked in on us multiple times and despite being busy, we never felt rushed. The food did not disappoint. We left with full bellies! Highly recommend!
Jessica D — Google review
Stopped at the restaurant because several people recommend it. It is a bit of sports bar and we did have about a 45 minute wait for 6 top table. The atmosphere was great. Did have to speak up a little when having a conversation but not too bad. Wished other guest would be more respectful to the tables around them. The food was great as well! If you're into fried green tomatoes, this would be a great place to stop and eat some! The Steak Burrito Bowl was great along with the blackened fish tacos. They do have move music playing on the patio every now and then.

Saturday evening dinner. The wait was typical and about 20 minutes. Once seated we were greeted by our server and our drink orders were taken. We ordered an appetizer of fried Portobello mushrooms that were the best part of the meal. My wife ordered wings and I ordered chicken tenders and a side of waffle fries. My fries were cold and they did take them off the bill. The temperature of the tenders was in acceptable, although I didn’t complain as we were ready to leave. We weee impressed by the hostess and our waitresses was great.

Bigg Daddy’s Restaurant was my partners and I favorite dinner spot in Helen, GA. The service was amazing, specifically their recent hire, Tanner who was overall the best waiter I’ve had the pleasure of meeting maybe ever. He was bubbly, very helpful in where to park, what spots to visit and what the best things on the menu were. My boyfriend got the center cut sirloin with Gouda mac & cheese, and a baked potato. While I do not eat steak he gave a good review 4/5. The Gouda mac & cheese was my personal favorite. It was rich and cheesy and had wonderful flavor. The baked potato was also very good. I got a chicken burrito bowl. Now I wasn’t significantly satisfied with the bowl. While it was decent, I feel the chicken was lacking a bit of flavor and overall it kind of just made the dish bland 3/5. And for dessert, we got a cookie sandwich. The cookie was a bit cold, perhaps due to the ice cream however, the dessert was still very good and if the cookies were warmer, it would have been a 5/5, still I’d rate it a 4/5. Overall I love Bigg Daddy’s, so much that my family and I came the night after my boyfriend and I had went, to have dinner again. If I ever find myself back in Helen, I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again. Ask for Tanner, you won’t regret it!!

The reviews on here are a bit scattered but our experience from being seated to leaving was excellent. We had a party of 5 with 3 kids. Food was better than expected, great draft beer selection, prices were reasonable and our food came out fast. We ordered the Clucker chicken sandwich (it was a meal for two), the Smash burger, wings, Cartel blackened chicken, and chicken tacos. Our server Nick was awesome, very on top of our table. Everything was great. 😊
Drew C — Google review
Our server was just not that good. Shrimp appetizer was good. My soup tasted great. My wings were under cooked and made me a little ill that night.

Steak house
Cowboys & Angels Restaurant and Bar offers a delightful blend of Southern and Western cuisine in a laid-back setting. The family-owned establishment serves up favorites like cowboy burgers, chicken-fried steak, and Southern classics such as fried green tomatoes and collard greens. With an extensive menu featuring appetizers, soups, sandwiches, burgers (including the popular Bison Burger), steaks, pork chops, seafood, shrimp and grits, there's something for everyone.
Stopped at Cowboys & Angel’s opening Saturday of Oktoberfest in Helen, GA 2025. So understandably they were busy, but we were able to snag a spot at the bar. Kaylee behind the bar was great. The bar seating is near the kitchen so watching the whole team work together to get through the rush was eye opening. I loved my nachos. The spice was on point and the ground steak was delicious. Flour tortillas were fried in house, queso was good, best meal I’ve had in Helen so far this weekend. My friends review who got the pork belly sando: Pork belly sandwich, Was sweet and salty, perfectly cooked. With middle was soft, the edges of the meat were crispy with a smokey taste. Overall it was good, the bun took over some of the taste so I ended up just eating the insides of the sandwich. 6.7/10

Helen is typically a difficult place for me to find food options because of my dietary restrictions, but we came here after receiving a glowing recommendation about this restaurant’s extended courtesy in accommodating restrictions. Wanting something small but refreshing on a particularly hot day, I got the two sides of the Hush Puppies and Sliced Vine Ripe Tomatoes. Everything was fantastic! And the prices were an especially wonderful standout factor for how much food I got - the Hush Puppies were $4, and the Sliced Tomatoes were $5. If anything, the wait time to be seated / attended to was quite long, but they were very busy with the number of patrons already present. Completely understandable, especially during Oktoberfest at Helen!
Shreya R — Google review
The food was delicious and very filling. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. There was only a 10 minute wait, even thought it was very busy. I hope we will be able to come again soon! I would've added more photos... but it's gone. It was that good!!

We very much enjoyed dining here while on a visit to Helen, GA. The food was delicious. I had the bison chili app and the shrimp and grits. Being from the New Orleans area, I was kind of hesitant about trying shrimp and grits, but it was phenomenal! My husband had the pork belly app and the Sticky Belly burger. He loved both! Our server was Allison who was also phenomenal and very sweet! We will definitely be back on our next visit.
Angela G — Google review
Hear me out, the food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. My boyfriend got the Elk steak it was flavorful but the Gouda Mac was horrible. The Scallops were delicious with asparagus and the collard greens had SO much depth and flavor. The cocktails was what made me upset. $10 for the key lime martini was outrageous and it was disappointing. Heather was a great server and the atmosphere was cool. This location is more an adult atmosphere than for kids But they are welcome of course.
Sarah — Google review
I read the back of the menu about how this place got its start and their expectations. Those words can be easy to simply put on the back of the menu but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The ribeye was the best that I’ve had in quite a while and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the filet and the same was true for her meal. No regrets! In the words of Arnold, “I’ll be back”! I failed to mention that our server, BJ, was awesome as well. Highly recommended

Fabulous spot. Sat outside under the heaters for lunch and it was very comfortable. It’s early November with the fall leaves so beautiful in the area and a crisp breeze in the air. The weather is perfect for sitting outside to eat. Sweet tea is fabulous here. So good. I got half and half and it was still delicious. Not too sweet I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese. They were very generous with the cheese - lots of melted cheese. I took that off and ate it by itself The chicken piece was huge. I could only eat half of it It came with French fries that were also good Nice and crisp and not greasy. My husband ordered the bleu cheese hamburger which looked so good too. It had the right amount of blue cheese. He said it was very good. Came with fries or coleslaw which they were out of but no matter, he wanted fries anyway Service was wonderful. Very friendly. Price was reasonable Atmosphere fabulous. Not too crowded at the time we were there.
Leigh H — Google review
First time here. It was a 20 minute wait to be seated but it was worth it. I Don't like sitting in the tall bar like chairs not only because I am short but I am recovering from a head injury. So the hostess was nice to find a different table for us. The waiter was very nice, helpful, polite and friendly. He did a great job. The bartender was great at helping my husband figure at a drink I could enjoy that she made. I had the superman ice cream with irish cream liquor. It was so good. The food was great. My husband was pleased the first time about his burger. He likes it raw almost and for the first time it was cooked exactly right. I had the bourbon crab cakes. They were very good. The sauce was good but not my taste so I enjoyed them with out the sauce. For a appetizer it was a meal for me. The Fried Green Tomatoes are delicious and I love the bacon and corn pieces on them. I had to take them to go but I am loving them the second day. So delicious . The gentleman that was playing music was great. We enjoyed him. It was nice to sit outside. The decorations of the whole place was really fun and attractive. The whole atmosphere was friendly, enjoyable and fun for adults. It would be ok for kids. But I really feel this is more a adult atmosphere restaurant.

Nacoochee Village Tavern & Pizzeria is a lively and family-friendly pizza parlor located just half a mile south of Helen's downtown area. In addition to their delicious handmade pizzas, they also offer hoagies, salads, craft beer, local wines, and desserts. The restaurant's beautifully landscaped gardens make it an ideal spot for casual meals or special occasions.
Hanna was the sweetest waitress. She was the only waitress for the whole restaurant and she was rocking it! She was apologetic for wait times for things, even though times were very reasonable. The garlic bread was delicious. We got a 18” in half cheese/half mushroom and onion. The caramelized onion was amazing. This was our first meal in Helen and it was a great one. Hanna set the tone for a wonderful trip! $37 to feed 4 people and we had leftovers. The patio was perfect!

Found this place because we wanted pizza and not in the touristy part of Helen, nice little spot off the road. Wasn't too busy, but as soon as we arrived it did start picking up. One server was running around taking orders but was very attentive. The pie itself was decent. Though we would of rather it been done a little more. However toppings were delicious. Recommend the Spicy piglet.

We ate there 2 days ago, and it was delicious! My hubby and I looked for a vegetarian-friendly spot in Helen, GA that was also pet-friendly. We ended up at Nacoochee Villiage and Tavern. They have a nice, pet-friendly patio that's chill enough that our border collie mix didn't get anxious. Our server was attentive and friendly, with good drink recommendations. We ordered the "Tree Hugger" pizza, and it was delicious! Loaded with toppings, but the crust was still crisp and delicious. we loved that this restaurant is off the main drag in Helen, so it's not too noisy to sit on the patio, and nobody tried to rush us away from our table. Five stars for the service, food, and atmosphere!

Let me start by saying... The pizzas are amazing. Flavorful and worth the wait. That being said, they were extremely understaffed. Out waiter did amazing however given how overwhelmed she was. We sat near the kitchen, and you can tell stress was high, we overheard some bickering. This was during Oktoberfest so I understand the businesses but one should also prepare. Having worked in the food industry, I also saw some red flags in terms of food violations. Somehow, even after all this, we were very satisfied as the pizza was simply excellent. Tasted so good, we forgot how long we waited. When engaging the staff, they did good to be friendly. I do think this place could be one of the best in Ga, they just need to organize a bit. Overall, 4 stars.

The pizza here was amazing. Loved how crispy the bottom was and the fold ability of the slices. You can get half and half pizzas as long as they have the same base. Would definitely recommend giving them a try!

The pizza was new york style. Perfectly crispy and cheesy. We ordered the garlic bread as well. The portion was large. It had a nice cheese pull. It came with a tomato sauce and a cup of peppers which had a nice kick. The service was extremely friendly. Would definitely visit again.

I drive an EV and have a subscription for the Tesla network of chargers. After a long day of traveling to North Georgia landmarks, we found ourselves in Helen where I’d planned to recharge, before walking the little mountain town. I saw on the map before navigating to the charging location that there were two restaurants in on the block. The grill was closed, which I hope to try next time; they only open after 4:30. I will not be returning to the Pizzeria and Tavern. Our experience started with soda orders unfulfilled. A soda was brought to our table where the server asked us to taste it to make sure it was okay, it was good, the server then told my partner to pick something else to drink, my partner picked another soda. The soda should have been caramel colored, like a cola, it resembled a mildly dark beer, upon tasting it we found that it was like a la croix version of pibb. The server had my partner pick another non soda beverage. We then ordered a “Happy Hippie” this was the only thing good about our visit. “Good,” it was six wheat crackers, three scoops of hummus, four pieces of “fresh bread” and a pile of cold mushrooms. After seeing other reviews I am lead to believe that a lot of sides and apps just use cold product from the pizza make line, like a “tomato bisque” which was clearly just pizza sauce and our cold mushrooms on our “Happy Hippie.” Lastly, we ordered our pizza. Something a little Neapolitan (we were expecting) a large (a mistake), with anchovies, basil and feta. When our pizza was brought out was when we were told that the restaurant was actually out of Basil, I should have sent the pie back, but before this experience I would normally let the food service run me over with “the unexpected” I now know better; my partner and I let it slide thinking “basil can’t make or break this pizza” and also thinking “I don’t wanna be here long, the charger can charge me for idol time.” Actually the worst pizza of my life. I ate it knowing that after the two slices were consumed it was a bit late to ask to exchange it, also the things noted previous sentence. The anchovies were the lowest of quality. Great value anchovies, anything they touched turned into salt. The cheese, greasy salt. The feta, salt. The sauce, greasy salt. And the crust, soggy, wet salt. I bit my tongue through being asked if the food was good, consistently just saying “yeah” or putting my thumb up. This experience taught me that if allowed the food industry can run you over with it’s demeanor that it’s trying it’s best when in reality it’s not. So much was wrong about this place that some of the bad things strike as an afterthought when simply trying to review service and quality of food. Really hope that the next time I need to use this charger that I arrive after 4:30. Even though drinks were removed from the total, still spent $51. Seriously do not recommend.

It was so nice to experience great service and delicious food not too far from home. Hannah made us feel welcome the minute we walked in - even though it was close to closing time. The pizza had just the right amount of toppings and the crust was perfect. We had the Junker and were not disappointed. Had to sample the loaded potato salad and house made meatballs too. All delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Also very convenient with the Tesla chargers there.

Nestled in the charming town of Helen, Muller's Famous Fried Cheese Cafe is a cozy Alpine-style eatery renowned for its delectable fried cheese and authentic German and Czech cuisine. This family-owned restaurant offers a unique fusion of flavors, with highlights such as the mouthwatering fried brie and rich chocolate fudge cake.
This spot was recommended by one of the other businesses as a gluten free friendly option in town and they were right! A well marked menu gave me lots of options and everything looked so good! Our only complaint would be not the appetite to eat everything on the menu. The patio seating was perfect on a beautiful day, and pet friendly. Savannah took care of us and was friendly and the perfect blend of attentive but not overwhelming. She was thorough in checking on allergens for me. Prices were reasonable for a touristy area and we left with full bellies and a happy experience.

We had breakfast at Mueller’s Famous Fried Cheese in Helen, Georgia, and it was such a great experience! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy and charming, and the food was delicious. We tried their famous fried cheese, which is a must-try in this area — and it was amazing! Everything we ordered was really tasty. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast if you’re visiting Helen.

Beautiful place with delicious food. We waited quite a while before we got our food, but it was worth it. I believe they made it fresh. We both had authentic German meals. Having lived in Germany for five years, I can tell you our food was as good as anything I had in Germany. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

It was Octoberfest, so it was insanely busy, but everyone was doing their best to keep up. The food was very good. I got the ham and pork with fried cheese that was incredible. We had our dog with us and they were very accommodating.

The food was amazing and the servers were very sweet. Our drinks stayed full and the food was out very fast. We got breakfast and enjoyed the German Schnitzel breakfast, Muller's pancakes, and the Ham and Cheese Omelet. The fruit was fresh and sweet and the bacon was cooked great. The sweet tea was very good and the views and atmosphere were pleasant.

We sat outside with our dog and they brought a bowl of dog water. The food and service both were magnificent. I can't wait to go back. FRIED CHEESE! YUMMY! Hubby had pancakes, yummy!

Yes, yes, yes! If you are even considering this place, go! The food is fresh and the vibe is perfect for a diner in a busy city. It feels down home in the best possible way. I had the Jaeger Strussel and it was cooked to perfection. The little salad was slightly underwhelming - it wasn't a flavor I was craving walking into a German diner in Helen. However, everything else was amazing. I fully recommend this restaurant!

This was a great place to have breakfast. Very nice patio, the waitress we had was a doll…. But the food was something to be desired. I ordered just a 2 egg/ bacon/ potato and toast breakfast. The potatoes are 4.00 extra ( and weren’t good imo) and when I ordered I had asked what kinds of bread they had for toast and one of the options was rye so I picked that. I was upcharged another 1.00 for that without being told. My bacon was so overcooked we laughed that 2 of the 4 peices were inedible / rock hard and resembled a chicken bone or a pork rind ( see picture). I like crispy bacon but this was LOL. My husbands pancakes weee just basic pancakes. They were ok. Positive- a good large cup of coffee, waitress was really nice, nice patio.

The establishment offers a genuine German experience, serving freshly baked bread, pastries, Wiener schnitzel, spaetzle, and other beloved German dishes year-round. Visitors can also enjoy the biergarten on weekends from May through early November or daily during Oktoberfest.
First I have to say is that the biscuits and gravy are so good. Loved it. We came with a party of seven and were happy with their meals. Our waitress in the flowered dress was so nice and patient during our order and very close to closing time. Next visit to Helen, this is our breakfast spots for sure. Of course we couldn’t leave without the kids wanting sweets. The bakery has delicious sweets and breads.

Worth the wait! The wait wasn’t bad and the food was amazing! From my many years visiting Helen this was my first time visiting this cafe and it was amazing! The food was delicious and we loved everything! Service was fast after the initial waiting for the table which wasn’t bad at all. It was morning, it was Sunday and it was breakfast time so your normal waiting time! The food came really fast and the staff were really attentive! We will definitely try to come back again when we visit!

There is a reason there is usually a wait list! The food is amazing. But let's talk about the bakery 🤗 the variety they offer is pleasing for the whole family, there is something for everyone. Even though there is a line, it goes fairly quickly with their amazing service. They have someone boxing the goodies while another member is waiting to check you out, the line goes smoothly. The shelves are loaded with authentic German goodies that are easy to travel with when visiting and my family was excited back home when I brought back some snacks. Highly recommend!

Amazing, outstanding, can't miss. Best Helen has to offer. We were on our way out of Helen today and wanted to try one last place. Boy, did this place deliver! The pastry case was filled with so many luscious options. Shiny, laminated pastries, decedent cakes, huge cookies... It was a delight for the eyes. Also, they have a whole selection of boxed and bagged German treats and groceries. They have a deli counter with a large selection of German meats, cheeses, and breads as well. The food was delectable! My husband and I got got the Reuben... Believe the hype! It should be famous. I got spatzel soup, which was great... Pretty much chicken noodle with spatzel in place of the typical flat noodles. The star on the plate was the pretzel roll with the BUTTER!! My husband says he can't tell a difference, but MY taste buds were singing with the flavor of the butter lol .. I could distinguish another special about it via the wrapper, but just trust. It was amazing. We finished with the Apple Strudel, which we hoped to have a la mode, but they were out of ice cream.. so sad😭. Regardless, it was super tasty. There were minced up apples and apple chunks which lent beautiful texture to the dish. It was exactly as sweet as a dessert should be, which is to say sweet, but not cloying in the slightest. The whipped topping it came with have it the perfect little something extra. This place hit on all accounts. Fast, friendly service, outstanding food, variety, the works. I'm delighted we stopped in and we'll be heavily suggesting the place to our families, as well.

Best German food! According to their website, lunch starts around 11:30AM, but when I visited, they actually began serving closer to 12PM. The restaurant fills up instantly since the dining area is very small. Servers are kind and attentive, and the food is great overall. A couple of small downsides: sodas are $5, which feels a bit pricey, and the dishes were served warm rather than hot.
Kelly L — Google review
I thought hard about this rating because the Apple danish I ate was great! Fresh crisp and full of flavor. However, the Apple strudel was cold and doughy Not Good at all and a huge disappointment. The staff were not very helpful or friendly.

It was an hour wait but it was such a popular spot - small restaurant dining area with short staff so please be patient. It’s worth it. Great service - servers did not let us run out of coffee (the German coffee is delish!). My corned beef hash breakfast was yummy and I also enjoyed the German Chocolate Cake.

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 — Just meh 🫤 We visited Hofer’s Bakery and Café during Oktoberfest to try something different. The food was… meh. None of us really loved it, and a couple of us honestly didn’t like it at all. The flavors on my plate were confusing — not bad, just not good either. The biggest issue was the service and system. It was slow and poorly organized. They waited until nearly half the restaurant was empty before cleaning tables, even with a line out the door. With a few small adjustments, the place could run so much smoother — like pre-rolling silverware instead of doing it after every table. Overall, everything was fine, but not something I’d go out of my way for again. Just meh.🫤

Absolutely 100% without a doubt a must do. Best damn pretzel of my life. Cold beer. And we ordered the roasted and fried pork which is big enough for a family of 6…. Highly recommend splitting it with your neighbor you’ve never met. Sat at the first bar inside, amazing service. Delicious food. Cold beer. What else could you ask for?!

A stop in Helen GA for Octoberfest. Our first stop for food was here, and it was amazing. First, shout out to our server Miranada, who added the extra details that some servers miss. The staff overall were great, but during this festival I expected everyone in lederhosen or dirndl. It was only half the staff. We ordered small pretzel "flown" in from Munich. Perfect and so soft inside. Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich and Open Face Prime Rib Sandwich. Both were great options. I actually expected sliced prime rib, but it was one piece. Still very tasty! Almost forgot, we ate outside on this beautiful evening, half the tables full at 6pm Wednesday. Live guitar artist playing great music. Overall great time. I bet weekends are busy during this time. Please give me a heart if you found this review helpful.

Our 1st time in Helen, visiting to check out the town for Oktoberfest. Our meals at the Hofbrauhaus were by far the best we had the entire weekend. The food came out fast, hot, and tasty. The portions were generous and the beer was cold, can’t ask for much more than that! We enjoyed sitting both inside with a view of the river and outside to enjoy the live festive music. The blackberry bourbon smash was also great! You can definitely split the apple strudel. Would absolutely recommend eating here and we look forward to a return trip.

We are in Helen, GA, wanting to eat at a famous and authentic German restaurant for the experience. 😄 Due to the long wait for indoor seating, we chose to eat outdoor which have no wait. It is right by the creek with beautiful scenery, however, it did get a bit cold towards the end of our meal. We had a large order of Pretzels with cheese sauce, as well as Potatoe Pancake as recommended by the waiter as an authentic appetizer. Including the cheese platter (Hofbrauhaus Brotzeit Teller), they all tasted very yummy! For the meals, we had "Open Faced Prime Rib", "Hofbrau Hoagie" and "Schweinbraten" as well as the "Goulash". They are all pretty good although a few dishes are on the salty side of our preference. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner and the atmosphere, as well as our server (Elijah) very much! Thank you!

★★★★★ So good we had to come twice. We had an amazing meal at Hofbrauhaus. The jagerschnitzel was superb—crispy, tender, and packed with flavor. The fried potato pancakes were a standout too, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. The apple strudel was amazing, and there’s plenty of food to share—two people could easily split a hearty dinner. This felt like the most authentic German restaurant I’ve been to in the US. The beer was fresh and transported us straight to Bavaria. The location by the river is scenic and really adds to the ambiance. Highly recommended for a genuinely Bavarian experience. We came back the next day just to sit in the beer garden and have some drinks and apps.

Went for Oktoberfest and the festivities are everything. All the servers dress up and it’s lively and there was music too. Food is alright, bit expensive and doesn’t taste amazing. I have discovered the wonders of dipping pickles into cheese. Meats were very good though!! The lager was great

A few years back I traveled to Germany (Bavaria), recently I've been wanting an authentic German meal like I had there, we tried Hofbrauhaus on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and extremely close to what I remember having there in Germany, although I think the red cabbage (Blaukraut) is better here, in Germany they don't do much with the flavors it's basically red sauerkraut. The atmosphere hit just right as well, hearing the music inside with the occasional Ein prosit playing was very reminiscent of Oktoberfest in Munich. I can't wait to come back in the future.

Homemade red cabbage, what more needs to be said! Go early, because once this small, intimate restaurant starts running low, they close the door. But if you're lucky enough to get in, you'll find a polite and humorous waiter well versed in the beer and food offerings, and willing to assist those with questions. Everything we tasted was amazing, but with each bite we understood what we were eating was homemade by hands that love the food and care what the customers think. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We were skeptical about this restaurant after reading some of the negative reviews however our experience was exceptional. I usually don't leave reviews but felt compelled. We were coming to Helen to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday and we called earlier in the day to make some arrangements to make his birthday extra special. We spoke to the owner, who was very professional and courteous. He prepared a black forest cake complete with the candles and everything special just for us. Our food arrived on time. The food was delicious, even our picky kids enjoyed it. After dinner. They brought out the cake, candles and lit the candles for my father-in-law so we could celebrate his birthday. It was the the perfect way to celebrate the birthday of such an amazing person. He is the only father I've ever known so I'm so grateful that we could celebrate with him in such a special way and the staff at this restaurant helped to make it happen. A job well done.

The food was good and I guess being how it was in a Bavarian town atmosphere Mexican is probably what you would not be going to this Helen Georgia to get. The Mexican food I've had better all though this food was not that bad. Or fajita mix did not come with rice or beans. Did not understand that and question it the waitress said that's the way they did it there.

Paul's Steakhouse, a beloved establishment since 1965, offers a laid-back riverside setting with live music on weekends. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy refreshing beers, wine, and cocktails alongside delectable dishes like blue crab cakes, jalapeno poppers, oysters, ribeye steak, filet mignon, fried chicken, and rainbow trout.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Paul’s Steakhouses, and let me tell you, their Fried Chicken Livers and Baby Back Ribs are absolutely to die for. First, the Fried Chicken Livers—WOW. I’m not usually one to rave about chicken livers, but these were something else. Crispy on the outside, perfectly tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. Every bite was rich and flavorful, and the dipping sauce they serve with it takes it to a whole new level. Seriously, I couldn’t get enough of them! And then, the Baby Back Ribs—I don’t think I’ve ever had ribs so tender in my life. The meat just fell off the bone, and the glaze was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too tangy, just perfect. The portion was huge, so We left the restaurant completely stuffed but incredibly happy. I’ve been to plenty of steakhouses before, but Paul’s really knocked it out of the park with these dishes. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss out—those livers and ribs alone are worth the visit!

(Review based on service and order of wings only!) We made a visit to Helen and ate here! Shannon assisted all of us during our visit and she didn’t disappoint! Be prepared to pay a bit because of the obvious: location, steakhouse, scene, etc. I would go back to this establishment again for sure. Their prices weren’t “rip your heart out” type of prices but a little gut check. The serving sizes are spot on though, in my opinion. The hospitality here was great here as well! I was surprised. You must get their wings! Tell Shannon I sent you and that want the Jerk wings and/or the Lemmon pepper/mild wings. She will make sure you’re taken care of! Skip the fries and order another batch of wings and you’ll be happy in you did. Go see Shannon!! Show them a picture of the wings I posted and tell Shannon you want your wings just like those in the pic. Come back and emoji this post if you enjoyed them! I’m curious of how many will enjoy the wings.

I was looking for a place that had prime rib. We found Paul’s and I ordered the prime rib with baked potato, salad and lobster bisque, the wife had country fried steak with gravy and baked potato. The food was great we had no issues. The server was excellent. It was worth the trip. We highly recommend.

Food was good but I wouldn't say great. With these types of meals you would expect to get dinner rolls or bread. She brought the check without asking us if we cared for dessert, they had key lime pie so we asked for that. The pie would have been amazing had the crust been crunchy instead of soft and mushy. Not saying the experience was bad, it was good, just not great.

⭐ 1 star Never again! I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp, Fresh Salmon, and Chicken Wings — everything was awful. The shrimp came out cold, not even warm, and tasted like it had been sitting for a while, looks like shrimp balls. The chicken wings were also cold and completely flavorless — no salt, no pepper, nothing. The shrimp was honestly the worst part of the meal. I figured the side salad would at least be good, but it was way too salty and just as disappointing. Nothing tasted fresh or properly seasoned. Suggestion: Never ever visit this place — easily the worst meal I’ve had in Helen!

Our server last night was really good. Super attentive. We came after a long wait elsewhere so decided to give Paul’s a try. The fried shrimp was PHENOMENAL! Got a pound for two to share salad and fries as side and it was plenty. The ribeye was decent but was certainly outshined by the fried shrimp

Not the greatest steak in town at all ! Ordered prime rib cooked medium and it was well done. Served never came back to ask how good was. Had to get another server to help. My wife’s filet was full of gristle and was not even filet, was not offered any other meat or replacement. When server came and took food away from my wife he didn’t even ask , he just said they were gonna take it off the bill - again , not great service and not great steak. I’ve attached a picture of the prime rib. We likely won’t be back for another meal.

First time trying German food and it was a great experience. Great food, great service, and cool vibes all around. We got the potato pancakes, Brie with vegetables, goulash, and Pork schnitzel. Taste was very delicious but the schitnzel and pancakes were slightly dry for me but still very good. Would come back again.

The good thing was the food, but we had to do some struggle before getting to it. Line outside was long, but moved quickly (I feel it could move even faster if staff was managing job better) We got a very nice table, and sat there for about 10 min - no menu or water was provided. Asked passing waiter to give us a menu. Then another 10-15 min passed by and no one came. The waiter who gave a menu, started literally ignoring us. I went back to hostess desk asking to find out server, and turns out that the lady who was responsible for our table, thought that someone else is.... But she was serving tables near us, as well as the one who gave us menus. I think it's just weird, that both of them ignores the fact that we are sitting without the service, and didn't question "whose table this is". After we finally ordered, food arrived in 45 min. Which is okay, because it was cooked well, and fresh. But total time between we got at the table and started the meal was over 80 min.Since we were hungry, and all other places had long lines as well, we decided to wait until the end, lol. Idk if I ever want to go back, probably during slower time.

The food here is SO good! It's comforting and so filling. We tried the pretzel, potato pancakes, goulash soup, and sourbraten. Apple strudel for dessert. 10/10 for everything, and wish I lived closer so I could visit again soon. Our server was very kind and friendly! I believe her name was Heather - she was on the beer garden side and wearing black cat/moon earrings. Thanks so much for being so welcoming :)

👍 French onion soup. Perfect, not overly salty, nice amount of cheese, and a light char on the top was awesome. Smoked pork chop.moist, tender, lightly smoked Sauerkraut was ok, warm. 👎 Potato salad side was only offered cold, and " of" it was swapped out for spatzel the up charge was $3.oo . The Gypsy gravy has good flavor, but over powers the flavors of the perfectly smoked pork chop.

Our waitress was a pleasure! The food was different from years prior but still good. We would have liked to have sat inside but were rushed to a wobbly table outside. Our waitress was really good and accommodating and we loved her German accent!

My wife and I eat here for our anniversary and I can’t put the experience into words! The food was absolutely amazing and 100% the best German restaurant in town(I’ve been coming to Helen since 2004). Super authentic as the chef Aurel came out to ask how our meal was and spoke to us for around 20-30 minutes. Makes my wife and I who also cook very happy to see someone take such pride in their preparation. If you don’t try this place when in Helen you are missing out for sure! Thank you again Bodensee for such a great time!!!!!

Spice 55 Thai and Sushi restaurant is a charming eatery in Helen, offering a delightful blend of classic Thai rice and noodle dishes as well as a variety of sushi options. The vibrant and casual space provides a relaxed atmosphere for diners.
After a long day of exploring Helen and Dahlonega, we needed something to put the exclamation mark on the day. This was the place! My wife and I were promptly greeted and shown a table outside that was the perfect spot to enjoy an evening dinner. The server was incredibly friendly and made recommendations and the food was spot on. The pricing was what you would expect in a tourist area and the portions were plentiful. We will definitely visit again when we are back in the area.

I have never had a bad experience at Spice 55. My friends and I went tonight and our waiter Nick was incredible. The food is always fresh and exquisite 👌 I can honestly say I have never had better sushi. We drive approximately 45 minutes to Helen, we have tried other places closer to home and they fell short all over priced and low grade small portions. I always recommend Spice 55 to out of towners and anyone looking for sushi...keep up the great work!

Food was super delicious and presentation excellent. Waiter was very friendly and willing to help us pick out our dinner choices. Lobster and crab fried rice scrumptious. Cocktails superb. Loved my Asian Cowboy drink

From the dumplings, to the tuna, to the soup and drinks they set the bar high from the start. They did not disappoint. The amazing appetizers were followed with some great tai egg rolls with a combo fried rice, and two fantastic sushi rolls.

Best Thai and Sushi!! We visited Helen for two days, and we stopped by for dinner two nights in the row. It has been a week since I went, and I am craving for their foods right now. I will definitely come back again next year whenever we visit Helen. ❤️ from Florida.

If you’re the one in charge of finding a solid place to eat in Helen, go ahead and put Spice 55 at the top of your list. We stopped in for a late lunch and it was exactly what we needed. We ordered a California roll, spring rolls, edamame, and the ginger salad. Everything was super fresh, light, and flavorful, not greasy or heavy like a lot of other options in town. Parking was easy (huge win), we were seated right away, and the atmosphere felt calm and classy without being too fancy. They even had live music playing that was genuinely good, not loud, just really nice background vibes. It’s not super expensive, the food quality is top notch, and it’s honestly one of the best meals we’ve had in Helen. Definitely recommend it if you’re trying to avoid the tourist trap spots and actually enjoy your meal.

This was our first time to Helen, GA. Our experience at Spice 55 was the highlight to our trip!! All the sushi was very fresh and the presentation was excellent. Our waiter, Reed, took excellent care of all our needs!! Princesses Amy made the experience even better by her bubbly personality!! You will definitely make a mistake if you don’t have your next meal here!!!

My mother, sister and I dined here on Wednesday night this past week and was one of the best dinners we’ve had in Helen, Ga. We started with the Calamari, Salad with ginger dressing, and Hoochee's River Basket as our appetizers. The river baskets were amazing and had so much tuna we were all surprised that it could be classified as an app instead of a main course item. Then for dinner my mom decided to try out some sushi because she was so impressed by the Hoochee's River Baskets and got the Sexy Girl roll, which was once again delicious. We all decided to do shareable for dinner and ordered Tofu Green Curry, Chicken Pad See Ew, and Panang Curry. Ordering all these different menu items and a variety of meats was a good choice because each dish was well complimented by the spices and flavors. None of the curries were too spicy and both DO come with rice (something we were a little worried about). Last but not least, I do have to compliment our server Eddie. He was very attentive and welcoming. I had many questions and concerns about the sushi, as I like to know which ones I am eating before I try as a visual eater, and he was able to name each of the dishes that have a picture on the menu. I found that to be very helpful. We also chatted with Eddie about our time in Thailand which made him even more welcoming and he was enthusiastic to discuss about his home country. All in all, this restaurant was a great experience to be shared and we will be coming back again when we come to Helen the next time.

Such a cute little store with so much character! Love the sandwiches. The quiche I got from them was absolutely incredible and the Rueben was one of the best I’ve had…woofed that so quick I didn’t take a picture. Sub was awesome as well. Don’t skip the cakes. The banana pudding cake and the peanut butter pie we got was phenomenal 😋

What a cute grocery store with TONS of German beer selection! They even have a bar outside that serves breakfast and lunch. We are first timers to Helen, GA and just knew we had to stop in. We had their ham biscuits for breakfast that were amazing! A must stop if visiting Helen!!

This is as close to a country store as I have been in a long time. They have a little bit of everything and a lot of some things with a good selection of most things. A great place to visit and you will probably find something you will want. We purchased, honey, check out the live bee hive (behind glass), smoked pork chops, out of the meat market, spices to mix with oil and eat with bread (available), blueberry wine, tart cherry juice, dark cherry juice, Divinity candy, and a caramel popcorn ball. After my husband finished shopping he sat outside to wait on me and drank a beer while listening to live music that was very good.

We stop in here every time we visit Helen. We do our grocery shopping in the country store, then visit the porch for food and drinks! The staff is always super friendly, the beer selection is phenomenal, and the food is really good too! Added bonus, they are on Untapped! If you track your beers like we do, you can track your beer selection here then see your post on the TV in front of the bar!

Wander, snack, get liquered up; Betty's won't judge. Need a gallon of pickled eggs? Betty's gotchu. Need high quality butchered ribeye? Betty's gotchu. Need to sit glass-eyed at the bar throwing back whiskey and silently judging others? Betty's gotchu. Wanna listen to the best buskers in Georgia? Yeah, they're at Betty's. Every grocery store in America should be like Betty's. It's weird, eclectic, yummy, homegrown shenanigans.

Nestled in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Unicoi State Park & Lodge is a charming mountain retreat just two miles from Helen. The park offers a plethora of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and paddling adventures. Visitors can explore remnants of the late 1800s gold rush and enjoy scenic trails that lead to mountain summits and picturesque waterfalls.
Stayed 3 nights in September 2025. Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Room was very comfortable and clean. Appears to have been remodeled not long ago. We ate two evening meals. The menu was very limited. They really need to add more items like pasta, regular size burgers, and more variety. If you have a problem, just ask for Executive Chef Matthew Humphrey. He will make it right and make sure you leave happy. Cannot say enough good things about him. Servers were friendly and wait time short. If we decide to return we will definitely stay here.

I have been a frequent visitor of Unicoi for about 7 years now. This week we got married in the park, and had a great time. I had to depart for a family emergency early and Ms. Patty was outstanding in listening and being kind. This park, it’s always clean and friendly. You can see wildlife all year round here. (Our favorite is the armadillos). If you go please be safe, keep it clean and make memories here.

Beautiful hotel and beautiful location. The two restaurants/bar are great. A little hard to get to some room with a bunch of baggage though lifts and ramps are there. We had a great view from our room and a staff member said it was the best room. Lots of places to sit and hang out outside. Fire pits available etc. There is a shuttle to take you into town and back. Super clean, great room service people. I liked it and would stay again.

Overall: great! Good: End of October, leaves changing, first frost, great time. Service was excellent: needed extra bedding, no problem. Food was great. Shuttle was good and very convenient. Take the trip up to Anna Ruby Falls ($5/person). It's a short hike, but was good. Bad: Mattress was a bit older inner spring, a bit of a hard time sleeping. Shower did need some caulk to prevent leaking. Could smell someone smoking dope occasionally; no fault of lodge. Overall, a great stay. Would do again.

Ana Ruby Falls was beautiful! First off! And the paved trail was very accommodating to my uncle who has had knee replacement. We used the “Seek” app to identify plant species along the trail. We read every one of the fact plaques along the way as well. Truly wonderful way to spend the afternoon and the company that manages the gift shop and gate employ wonderful people!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Unicoi State Park Lodge. We were very impressed with all aspects of our stay. From the warm welcome and smooth check-in process, thanks to Zachariah and Susan Baxter (manager) to the very clean room that we had. Kudos to housekeeping as they do a great job. Our room was also spacious, quiet and had a lovely view. We had a delicious dinner at the tavern and were very happy with the food and service there. Our server was in training, but he did a great job. The manager, Nanette, was very nice and made sure that we were totally satisfied with our meals. We truly felt that we were at a first class resort and we look forward to returning.

Stayed in the cabin. Shower is molded. Shower certain had mold all over it. Pillow for sofa bed had blood on it. If you open patio certains downstairs you see people zip lining. Upstairs open curtains people zip lining. One extra small TV in living room. No other tv's in the cabin. Broom no dust pan. Animal hair all over sofa bed and crumbs. Even though it's a cabin. They still need to clean better. And change Shower curtains and dust. 2 hour drive so disappointing!! Very thin suppose to be top cover. Only thing good air was flowing. Full kitchen with all the amenities. One bathroom at bottom. Sofa bed basically your laying on the springs! Pet friendly place.

The menu boasts generous portions of mouthwatering ribs and hearty Brunswick stew that will leave you craving more.
We love stopping here on our way to NC! It is by far some of the best Bar B Q you can get any where. Our regular order is a quart of pulled pork, buns, potato salad, cole slaw and you can not forget the banana pudding some of the best I have ever had. I’ve had others items on the menu and you can’t go wrong with anything! Make it a must to eat here or get it to go like we do if you are staying in Helen or just passing through as we do. We arrived on the 4th of July, maybe we should have thought about our timing.. the crowds were large from the families tubing and those gathering for the fireworks, we just wanted good BBQ. The ribs were good with a spicy rub that my fiance found needed some taming down with one of the house sauces. He said the meat was hot but the bones were cold..trying to keep up with the crowd I can see now. I had the pig melt which had great smoke and the sauce was yummy. I'd go back when the crowd is smaller and the smoker is smoking. Casual eating outside at picnic tables, some covered, some with umbrellas. Order inside and get your number, pick up back inside. Parking is surrounding the building, let them know you are there to eat, not tube the river across the street.

In addition to The Heidelberg, there are several other eateries in Helen where visitors can savor German cuisine such as strudel and more.
Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere, true German experience, and cuisine. There is seating inside and outside. Many choices of delicious entrees to choose from. They have 2 musicians playing and singing while walking around to bring in some wonderful German music. Very good beer and adult beverages are available and pair excellent with your meal. Wonderful experience and very worth the visit! Very friendly staff and great service!
Kim K — Google review
The restaurant is nestled in the small but scenic town of Helen, GA. I have been to this establishment multiple times over the past two years. The quality of the food is quite good, especially the Schnitzel. The portions are large, and most people will need a box for leftovers. The service is consistent. The atmosphere/ambiance is average, but you don’t go there for that anyway. The wait time can vary, depending on time of day, but usually not more than 15-20 minutes. The prices are reasonable.
Evan L — Google review
Started out with a pretzel with “beer cheese” that was extremely runny and very sad. The pretzel itself was ok. Regarding the entree, the potatoe salad was not doing it and the sauerkraut and bratwurst was just good enough to eat most of it but that’s mainly thanks to the mustard. Our waitress was pretty short and disinterested. The place felt stuffy and there was persistent smell of weed. To put it simply, not worth it. For the price, wait for the table, and quality, I feel like it’s time wasted. I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re okay with mid German food.
Maritza — Google review
1st time visit. We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese and the Wurst Platter which had three different sausages. The pretzel came with melted butter to dip it in which made it feel like I was eating crab Legs, it was weird. The beer cheese was very runny, more like cheese milk but it was still very good with the pretzel. The pret,el was so soft and delicious. The sausage player was a great variety and really good. Our sides were the German potato salad which was def different. It was warm, ad onions, bacon and vinegar. We did like it. We also had the steamed veggies and mash potatoes which were both very good. Also had a few beers and their our apple liquor drink. Loved it. I would eat here again. The line to get in is in a stairwell and awkward.
Amy G — Google review
Went out with my family for my birthday dinner, was so excited. First issue was we got no silverware, waitress was not very welcoming, glassware was clearly dirty, hair in appetizers as well being cold. When I brought attention to the fact there was hair in it she was snappy as well as her remark of "yea I overheard" stated she would figure it out and then never came back to the table until we had grabbed someone else to tell them our ENTIRE meals were cold, mashed potatoes were the warmest thing of the meal and they were barely room temp. Staff proceeded to give us attitude the entire time as well as while clearing off the table. Overall extremely shitty service as well as staffs attitudes. It was an overall embarrassing experience.
Cameron L — Google review
Overall, our dinner at the Heidelberg was good. The exterior of the restaurant looks just like a Bavarian town. Unfortunately, the interior is looking quite rundown and in need of a refresh. The food was good, came out hot and pretty quickly. We did order as soon as we sat down since there were quite a few groups of people who looked to have been waiting for a while. The schnitzel was our favorite part. Based on all things we’d likely come back.
Amelia T — Google review
I read somewhere this is the most photographed building in Helen so of course we had to visit! It’s so cute outside and the inside looks like a little speakeasy with accordion players! The food was great! Service was a little slow, but they were friendly and everything was fresh and good!

Cute little ice cream parlor. They have about twenty or so flavors of bluebell ice cream. They can also do milkshakes, coke and root beer floats, etc. Prices weren’t crazy and you get a discount if you go in after you play the mini golf next door. I would definitely recommend it too, as the mini golf was a fun course and works up a little sweat!

Only come here if you enjoy ice cream with no cream and chunks of ice instead. The ice cream was definitely freezer burnt. Others in our group said the same, so it wasn’t just the peach flavor. Such a disappointment. And to top it all off, the young girl working there was beyond rude and acted like we were bothering her to make her scoop ice cream.
Shirl K — Google review
The ice cream was delicious (rainbow sherbet and cookies n cream), but the inside seating is limited and the shop is not easily accessible — it’s a flight of stairs to get inside. If my mother would’ve been along, she wouldn’t have been able to go inside and would’ve been blazing hot outside. I now see we could’ve gotten a discount bc we also played golf next door, but we didn’t see any mention of that at the time.

My 4 kids all had a crepes the misses and I did not. They were split on their opinion of how good they were. The twins said the crepes were amazing (one had crepe with banana and Nutella and the other one with strawberries and Nutella). The two oldest had bananas and Nutella and the “American Cream” crepe and said they weren’t bad but they’ve had better. I think you should still try this spot for yourself.

The staff, the coffee, the food is BETTER than any other place in town! Blueberry crepe is divine, and the veggie crepe with feta is amazing! And, if you are a coffee snob like me, you won’t be disappointed - I enjoyed a Cortado with 3 shots! This place also has a VRBO/Airbnb you can stay at, for those of you that want to enjoy being in the middle of town - with access to everything!

This is a small location with very little seating. The staff is so friendly and accommodating though!! The crepes have a wonderful flavor. But they are a little overpriced for the size and amount of food you get. $50+ for 2 small crepes and an iced coffee seemed a bit much. It is good though!

Place was awesome ! Best Irish coffee I’ve ever had ! Coffee and crepes are amazing and the vibe is perfect. Such a fun good place! Like it so much we wandered around and ended up coming back for more!

Village Crepe Haus My friends and I were on a girls’ trip in Helen, Georgia, and found ourselves craving crêpes—this little gem did not disappoint! The café is charming and cozy, offering a great selection of sweet and savory crêpes. I had the turkey and avocado crêpe (delicious!), one friend ordered the chicken and veggie, and another tried the classic cinnamon and sugar. Everyone was happy, especially with the cappuccinos. The prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Just a heads-up: parking isn’t free, but we found a lot nearby and split the $10 fee, which felt fair for the downtown Helen area. If you’re in town, Village Crepe Haus is definitely worth a stop.

What a fantastic breakfast place! My mom and I loved the delicious crepes, great selection of the coffee flavors, very clean restaurant and might be the best customer service in a while. Thank you so much for the hospitality.

I discovered Bangkok Haus Restaurant in Helen, GA through Facebook and decided to visit despite living an hour away in NC. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and our server was very friendly. We ordered the Basil Rolls and Spicy Tuna Baskets which were both delicious. Additionally, we tried the Shrimp Pad Thai, Samurai Party Roll, and M16 Roll - all of which were flavorful.
We had a great time!! Our waitress was awesome such a sweet soul. The customer service was top tier from everyone we encountered!! We ate outside and it was a vibe!! The food was delicious everyone in our party loved their food! I can’t wait to return!!

We were a party of ten and there was not a long wait they sat us right away. The food was so delicious its a bit pricey but it was worth it. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. The Mongolian beef was amazing with the fried rice. Definitely will be coming back.
Yury T — Google review
Probably the best Thai food I had since I moved to Georgia almost 20 years ago. The flavors are on point and I judge Thai restaurants by their pad Thai and what I had was amazing. My family also liked their dishes. I think their fried rice could use more flavor and wish they would use more dark meat in their chicken instead of white which seems like most Thai places do that probably to appeal to western tastes but most Asian cuisine favors dark meat for flavor and juiciness. Sadly I cannot give 5 stars due to them charging more for credit card use which looks like many businesses in the area are adopting. This is not how American businesses supposed to run. We don't nickel and dime customers. Some will defend and say it is just what credit card companies charge them etc but it is a cost of doing business they can write off. Why not charge customers energy surcharge and other costs to their business? I draw the line at top, I hope other patrons join me in speaking up to please don't insult customers with extra charges like this, it's already ridiculous many of the top suggestions are asking customers to tip on top of taxes...

I had the Beauty and the Beast Sushi roll. It was full of flavor. Pretty close to a rainbow roll but with spicy salmon inside the roll. The fish was fresh and tasty. The wasabi wasn’t very strong but still enjoyed. Pineapple fried rice with chicken had yellow curry which made it taste really good and unique. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious. Service was good and bathroom was clean.

We stopped in for the first time and were so pleased with the food, definitely hit the spot after a long day of touring the town. We ordered a sushi roll, a noodle soup, chicken tataki with peanut sauce and some chicken fried rice. Everything tasted authentic. We were satisfied with the atmosphere and the service.

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express and quickly walked over here and had very fast quality, hospitable service, & delicious food. Awesome sushi. I did the M16 which was nice and spicy how I wanted. Little one had orange sesame chicken which she loved! with authentic white rice 🍚 perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the crab Rangoon too. Oh and the dirty Thai iced tea!! Thank you to our server for treating my daughter’s new baby doll from the nearby cabbage patch hospital like a patron😁🥰🥰. All staff were great! Especially for just before closing time on a Sunday!!

Incredibly tasty food! Ordered the Mongolian Chicken and a Calamari appetizer to-go after a long day of hiking. Portion size was perfect and more importantly the food is TOP NOTCH! I will definitely be back to Bangkok Haus next time I'm in Helen, it has surpassed my previous go-to Chinese/Thai place by leaps and bounds. A+

Cimmi's Cafe Breakfast & Lunch, located in Downtown Helen, has gained popularity for its charming ambiance and delicious breakfast offerings. The cafe is known for its delightful homemade buttermilk biscuits and a variety of breakfast options available all day. Customers rave about the humongous Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes, Build-Your-Own Omelettes, French Toast, and Nora Mill grits. Additionally, the cafe offers excellent pizza and is dog-friendly for those traveling with pets.
Really enjoyable experience. The wait staff were very friendly and the food was really good. Had pancakes, eggs and bacon. The pancakes are the biggest, thickest pancakes I have ever had. They take up the whole plate. My wife had biscuits and gravy. We highly recommend going.

Cimmi’s Courtyard is not only a cute little place but the food is amazing. The eggs are fresh, hash brown were cooked to perfection and the homemade biscuits so delicious. The pancakes, no need to describe them sooo tasty. Do not feel discouraged if you see a line to get in. The waitress are so fast and efficient that what might look like an hour wait will be Maine 15-20 minutes. We had a great experience. Our waitress Jessica was very friendly but I could see all of them work as a team which is excellent.

I liked that they were following Covid-19 safety. We had to. It was cold the morning we went and had to wait outside until a few tables were clear but we understood. The waitress was very nice and polite. The food was pretty good. My eggs were perfect.

A must experience stop in Helen! The food was wonderful, the service great and loved the alfresco dining experience! Be careful with the pancakes though, only order one unless your starving. They are addictive, fluffy and truly platter sized.

While we were visiting Helen, Georgia the whole town was super busy because of the kick off of the Christmas season. All businesses here were overwhelmed. We had to wait for about 15 minutes to be seated for breakfast. We got great service and the food was great. I had to remind myself that people were waiting to get a table so there was no time to waste. This was a very pleasant place to have breakfast especially considering the circumstances. Valhalla Resort and Golf in Innsbruck is a strategically located championship 18-hole golf course set against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course is known for its challenging layout, natural beauty, and frequent elevation changes that demand control and cleverness from players. Additionally, the resort offers a wide range of activities such as tubing, shopping, fishing (with proper licensing), mini-golf, and even hosts the famous Octoberfest.
What a beautiful golf course! If you are in the North Georgia area and haven't played here, you should. Bring a few extra golf balls as this is a challenging course. The staff is very friendly and they have a great clubhouse!
Greg R — Google review
Beautiful course lots of nature. Very difficult narrow fairways. Lost almost all my balls lol. Was disappointed to see the houses starting to get built on this pristine nature. One house was literally 5 ft off the green with tacky yard signs.
No W — Google review
Honestly the fairways and greens were a mess. The greens especially so. Crabgrass all over the place even on the greens. Many greens have areas of multiple square feet that are more or less dirt. You can see that it Could be amazing and they get an extra star for the old guy in the pro shop and some of the views. Also the gps on the carts malfunctions a lot so you end up having to back up at 1mph for, in one case, 100 yards before it would realize we were not off the cart path and let us go forward. I am adding a pic from one of the tee boxes on the back just so you see that it CAN be pretty but the condition of that tee box is about what you see all over the course.
BOB H — Google review
The layout is challenging. The views were inspiring. The course was smoked. Seems lots of places have struggled with their turf this season. 5-stars for being able to 100% solo with no one else ar I understand.
Matthew H — Google review
This course is in awful shape. The $55 rate charged for 18 holes of golf is ridiculous, especially with the state of the course. The service at the course is good, but there is definitely room to improve the condition.
Jay M — Google review
Excellent golf destination in a quiet mountain town. Greens in good shape for fall golf
Jeremy A — Google review
I usually don’t leave reviews but this was necessary. It’s very unfortunate because the nature around the course made it so beautiful. The fairways were incredibly tight and you would hope that you’d be rewarded by pretty greens. Nope the greens looked like goat patches. While rolling it kept bouncing up due to the crab grass all throughout the green. Honestly I couldn’t tell where the fairway ended and the greens started. The sand traps were quite literally just dirt (got bitten by ants when I was in the trap at hole 2). It had some beautiful scenery so it was upsetting playing on a course that was so horribly managed. I would pay extra to go literally anywhere else. Please owner/management if you see this please make this course beautiful. It has such amazing potential.

Located at 8797 North Main St., Suite 2 Helen, Georgia 30545, The Meeting Place is a cozy and casual family restaurant that offers a warm setting for friends and family to gather. They serve delicious breakfast favorites such as chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes, eggs, bagel sandwiches, and biscuits n gravy. After 11 am, the menu expands to include lunch options like sandwiches, burgers, meatloaf, fried chicken, and chicken tenders.
My wife and I came to The Meeting Place during our stay at Helen, GA for our 5-Year Wedding Anniversary. The food was great and the service we received was excellent. We also got to meet the owner who used to live near where we live in Florida. A very nice and polite gentleman. Overall, it was great service and good food.

I was disappointed! The coffee was awesome but the grits were undercooked and flat tasting. The corned beef hash was canned and for a place that has that high a rating it should be homemade. My eggs were cold as well.as the corned beef. The best part was the coffee and biscuit. Will not return. Also the atmosphere was strange. We were greeted like unexpected guests. Very sad it wasn't worth the wait.

In downtown Hellen GA. Went with a large group for breakfast that had to be split. So large groups not recommended (4 or less). Food was very good. Owners both are the cooks and the place is very welcoming and warm. Christian focus restaurant as this is their ministry. We all loved the food and enjoyed a healthy meal.

My daughters and I ate at this nice restaurant and truly enjoyed the food and GREAT hospitality. Shauna is a TERRIFIC waitress!!! The chicken fried steak, pancakes, eggs, and grits were very tasty!!! We will DEFINITELY put "The Meeting Place" on our list of favorite eateries in Helen!!!!

The meeting place is one of the better restaurants in Helen Georgia, but we were very disappointed on our last trip as they were suffering a power outage. Even though we've enjoyed it multiple times in the past they were not able to restore power in order to open during our most recent trip. I still would recommend this restaurant as one of the best that you should give a little try if you're in the Helen Georgia area. You can park your car once and enjoy shopping at Betty's Country Store and a meal at the meeting place!

Smith Creek Tavern is an American restaurant in Unicoi State Park & Lodge that serves great food and has friendly service. The Bavarian pretzel is a popular starter item, and the onion rings basket is a great option for an appetizer. The restaurant also offers local beers on draft, which make it a perfect place to relax after exploring the property.
A group of.us came in yesterday a little too early for our reservation. It was raining out and we decided to hang out at the Smith Creek Tavern. We managed to hit happy hour which was nice. I really liked the friendly staff, Brooke R, Brooke B., and Andrew. They were very helpful. We are all newcomers to Helen and they were made us feel welcome and answered our questions. Since we were going out to dinner later we stuck to the bar food as snacks. I really enjoyed the pretzel bites with beer cheese. We had another pretzel out in town and I was disappointed the cheese wasn’t nearly as good as the Smith Creek Taverns. We loved having someplace we could go so close to our rented cabins at Unicoi State Park that had exactly what we needed drinks, food, and friendly staff.

We attempted to have a drink at the bar, but we were told the bartender was on break. On a Saturday night at 6:30. We waited about 15 minutes and left. Then, we went back and told the wait was 15 minutes. This was a bit strange because both times the bar and multiple tables were empty. Also, both times workers were behind the bar making drinks. I don’t know, though, maybe there were simply not enough workers. It seems like the bartender would have liked making tips for simply pouring two drinks.
Jody R — Google review
I would rate the food but we never received it. We came in around 5:30 to have a couple drinks and order food to go. First beer was a little slow to be served though they were practically empty. Even though it was quiet, it took effort to be served again. Think sitting in front of empty glass feeling invisible. They got busy very quickly. We ordered food to go and then managed to get one more beverage but not easily. We waited for an hour but nothing. We saw some people getting food and some, like us, just waiting and looking pretty helpless. When we finally got a chance to flag someone down about our food we were told they were backed up. The bartender did not actually check on our food. We were sick of waiting and almost no service so we asked for the bill. Had to wait a really long time and give a second reminder for that as well. Bartender said he applied a discount but we had to ask to have the food we never received removed. It was a club sandwich and a salad. I doubt we would have ever received them. Never going back and literally afraid to eat at their italian restaurant.

Went to the Tavern for lunch today. Well, it turned out that the storms had knocked out the power and messed up the electrical systems and they were closed. I just wanted my grandsons and daughter to have a good weekend, as my health is deteriorating is deteriorating and not sure what future holds. So why the 5 stars? I had plopped down on the couch in waiting area to get some relief from knee pain and swelling and Nae Nae,(employee) came by and overheard my daughter and I trying to figure out what to do now. She came and explained the situation and listened to the fact that we had just spent the last hour trying to get out of Helen after spending an hr looking for a place to eat and where kids could play pool. Next thing we know, they bring out to equipment to play on their Billard table, and Melissa (Manager), said she was going to get a pizza and drinks and we could stay and play pool. We had made reservations for dinner but that was 6 hr to wait. The pizza was so fantastic and the pool game was so much fun and we laughed so hard I almost pee’d on myself(old age sucks)! When it came time to eat at Anna’s, we were treated so very well! Our waitress, so sorry I can’t remember her name, was supper delightful! The food was delicious and we couldn’t have been happier!!!! So what started kinda rough ended up being a great day, and tomorrow we’re (the grandkids) are doing the Zip lines.

We were staying at the lodge so we went in to have a drink and it took around 20 minutes for someone to come greet us. It wasn't that busy at the time and we saw about 5 servers and the manager. The manager finally came and brought us water and said someone would be right with us. Well, we waited another good 10 to 15 minutes before someone came and asked had anyone taken out order. We said no and so she took it. We got our beers and they were hot, then she brought what was supposed to be a cold mug but it was room temperature. She went to check the cooler and it was off. They put beer and mugs on ice to get them cold but really never got there. We drank 3 a piece and they charged us for 4. I let them know we only had 3 so the bill went from $77 to $54. We didn't eat just had beers. $6 a beer was a little much for domestic. Went back the next night to meet up with friends and they had already eaten but complained about the beers being hot and service being bad but the food was really good. We sat there for 15 minutes and nobody ever greeted us until one of us went to the bar to let them know we needed service. We got waters but didn't stay to eat because we knew it would take forever and their cooler was still messed up even tho they said they got it fixed. I've worked in food service before and they definitely need some work and training. Seems they don't have 1 designated bartender, they were all behind the bar making their own drinks and very disorganized. We saw drink going back because they weren't properly made. They need to greet the tables within 1 to 2 minutes at most when they sit down and acknowledge them. It's not that big of a place and they had plenty of people to cover but were just not trained properly or organized. It could be a very cool place to hang out, the atmosphere was great but service not so much.
Madarha H — Google review
I want to start this review by saying that my grandparents have been coming to the Unicoi Lodge for anniversaries and special occasions for DECADES. The way that we were treated this past Sunday is unacceptable. We had a great afternoon around town and decided to pass on going back into town for dinner and go to the lodge instead. We were seated right away with no issues, but after it took over 15-minutes for the server to come around to place our drink orders, he apologized and brought us our waters. However, 3 people in our party had ordered beer.. after waiting over 30-minutes and having placed our food orders, one of the people in our party decided to go and ask why the beer order hadn’t been placed. They were then informed by the SERVER (not even the manager) that they weren’t serving anyone that had been in town. 1. We weren’t being loud or rowdy. We had a toddler with us. And they literally ordered it with our waters. Why did it take over 30 minutes for someone to inform us of this “policy”. 2. To have a policy like that just doesn’t seem enforceable. How do you know we had been in town other than the ONE Oktoberfest outfit at our table….4 people out of our party of 7 were stone cold sober and absolutely disturbed by the way this whole situation was handled on the Tavern’s end…. The server then laughed when we asked to speak with the manager. While I understand nervous laughter can be a thing, this was just inappropriately handled all around. This was my grandmothers first time coming back since my grandfather passed away and I can assure you, we won’t be back. Decades of memories with your establishment tarnished because your bar manager made a decision they refused to tell us about before we placed food orders. You best believe we walked out and won’t be back. Highly disappointed, and will likely share on other social media platforms as well…
Henry L — Google review
Food was excellent, but damn did it take forever to collect the order. We were told 30 minutes for pickup, we ended up waiting an additional 30 almost 40 minutes after that. Then they forgot to charge us, luckily for them the wife is honest and flagged down a server to pay.

Genuinely quite bad if you have any dietary restrictions. Otherwise reheated frozen items. Their quinoa bowl is tiny. Service is poor. When asked, they said that vegan and vegetarian customers want small portions? Convenient location but zero star experience

Paul's Margarita Deck is a popular spot in Helen, offering familiar pub food and frozen cocktails in a cozy wood-paneled setting with deck seating. Situated by the Chattahoochee River, it provides a great view for diners. On weekends, visitors can enjoy live music while indulging in delicious food and drinks. The rustic interior creates a laid-back atmosphere for patrons to unwind and savor their favorite pub delicacies.
One of our favorite spots to grab a weekend beer. They have some selection of decent craft beer that doesn't taste like water. The food is good as well. Nothing fancy, but good with the beer. The best part is atmosphere: drinking and looking at running water is the best. Overall would recommend as not too fancy place for weekends drink or two.

We asked what was good on the menu from the staff who seemed annoyed we were ordering. (both employees) We usually do this to start conversations with our “servers” not that you could call them that. The food had no seasoning or flavor… (I’m a little food snob if I’m paying for food I want it to be better than what I could make at home or match) the drinks weren’t very good either sadly but it’s not like we could ask them to maybe add something because they are not approachable people. The view was good and that’s about it.

This is the worst place in the area, the cashier doesn’t have an idea of what charisma means, cheap quality kraut, bratwurst’s sausage is completely raw, bread has a mold taste, fries was at 7$ a ridiculous price, no dogs allowed and insulting signs all the place. The atmosphere is good and I love that you can view the river and watch people tubing. But that’s about it. The service was mid only because it’s self service so not much service to rate since there is none. The food was pricey and taste very bland. My husband and I ordered 1 hamburger that came with chips, 1 cheeseburger with a side of cheese fries and two bottled waters. It came up to $45, in my opinion the burgers were big but no taste. They could’ve added some seasoning salt or something to it for the price. It’s not a bad place but not great either. I would recommend just going somewhere else if you’re looking for food but if you want drinks, a view and semi good music than this is a good place for you.

Paul's Margarita Deck in Helen, GA, offers a relaxed atmosphere with a fun vibe, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The outdoor seating provides scenic views of the Chattahoochee River, enhancing the dining experience. The staff was friendly and efficient with bartenders who are quick to serve cold, delicious drinks, including a variety of margaritas and beers. The menu features American classics like burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers. The fries were perfectly cooked, but the grilled cheese sandwich was like charcoal. Live entertainment, including DJs playing nostalgic music, adds to the lively atmosphere. The establishment also offers parking, which is convenient for visitors. Overall, Paul's Margarita Deck provides a pleasant dining experience with room for improvement in food consistency.

My wife, who is on a cane right now from a joint disorder, reached for a chair with back support in a restaurant with all high chairs, to sit against the river bar and watch the people float by. A waitress grabbed the chair from her, and told her “No! You can’t do that on a weekend!” There were plenty of chairs. Totally rude and uncalled for. We’ve spent hundreds here on multiple trips to Helen. It’s been an enjoyable family tradition to eat at Pauls in the past. That’s our last visit. $44 for two cheeseburgers at lunch time, and treated like a child, no thanks. Hospitality goes a long ways. The Stokes Family

It's rare to have service from a professional that loves people and what they do. The hospitality given along with the food and chef made this establishment a favorite here in town. We love the cultured food surrounding town but the comfort food here is unmatched!! Came in Monday Sept 22, 2025 at 1pm. This is the second time we’ve eaten here in the past 8 years and it’s always a let down. I’m this instance I came in with a friend and we ordered food to go since we had our dog with us. We sat outside and my friend went in to order for us. She ordered the “two egg” breakfast and I had the hash brown bowl with sausage and biscuit. The server who helped us was very kind and friendly and professional and even brought our food outside to us and my friend tipped her very well for being so nice. Problem is we got back to the condo and her “two egg breakfast” had NO EGGS, and my hash brown bowl had NO HASHBROWNS! Unsatisfactory indeed. For you all coming to Helen, take the drive to the Huddle House down the road in Cleveland, much better location and worth the drive.

He was the sweetest, funniest guy ever. Also was on top of everything, drink refills, making sure our food come out just how we wanted, and just giving top notch service. He also gave us a locals insight to the beautiful town of Helen. Gave lots of recommendations from coffee shops to karaoke bars! Not service you see that often anymore. Johnny deserves a raise!

Great breakfast. The eagle guy was so attentive and friendly! Also best over medium eggs I've had in a long time! Mallory was an excellent server even though she said she's just finished a12 hour shift at a nursing home! This is a great choice!

Chris, Corey, and Lisa were absolutely amazing! Lisa was the best waitress that I have ever had. We loved her and hope that everybody had the experience of meeting her. She deserves a raise the way she immediately welcomes you into the business and the cooks made the food to perfection!!

Small, cozy pizza 🍕 shop! Great selection and variety. The pizza comes out hot and delicious with the crust being the show. Super light and crunchy, this pizza hits the spot. With all the shops and walking, the 7” is great for 2 with a side. The garlic knots hit the spot and were full of flavor. Service was friendly and polite. This shop also sells by the slice!

Visited this one over the 2024 New Years weekend. Wait time was like 45-60 minutes. But server was very nice as she was the only person waiting on all tables. Place is very small so get used to rubbing elbows if you eat in. A slice of pizza is like $5.50. Ordered a 12" deluxe $25.00 and the dough was fresh but the actual pizza is nothing to write anyone about. Cheap topping ingredients (see pic). Marinara sauce for garlic knots was very good. wings were just okay. The funnel cake fries with powdered sugar is very good if you like sweets. Thumbs up on this dessert. Typical inflated tourist area prices for food.

Wife and I came in here for lunch around 2pm on Monday Sept 26th, 2022. After several days of Oktoberfest-type food we were craving just a basic hamburger so we came here. They have several types of burgers on the menu. My wife had the "Hooch burger" which is a basic hamburger with the usual lettuce and tomato, you will have to ask for condiments. I had the mushroom-swiss burger; if you are craving a good burger this is a good place. My wife had the salad as a side and it's definitely a good sized salad for a side-salad. I had the onion rings as a side, they were a good flavor, a little over fried but edible. The burgers were very good but a little pricey (which everything is nowadays so no real complaint there). Seating is a little cramped like every restaurant in Helen. No parking immediately by the restaurant but there is ample parking close by. The one server/hostess was professional and very friendly even though she was busy the whole time.

Ordered delivery from here during a trip to Helen. Delivery was pretty quick, and everything arrived as ordered. The pizza was excellent (we got bacon & onions), and the lemon pepper wings were perfect! The kiddos loved their kid's cheeseburger & kid's chicken tenders. I would definitely eat here again on our next trip to Helen!

I Bought a 28 dollar supreme pizza, thinking oh this must be a great pizza considering it was 12 inches which is a small pizza anywhere else. Well let me tell you what I got for my money it had very little toppings and the cheese and topping was at least 1 and a half inches from the end of the crust. The crust was absolutely terrible. Got a glass CV of tea with no ice. Dont even ask for a refill she brought some hot tea to refill glass with no ice. Never seen original waitress she was helping other customers. Pizza was horrible. 😳

Our family eats here every time we visit Helen. The chili cheese fries are one of our favorite things. This time, we had them with pasta sauce instead of chili. Request this!!!! It was delicious! We also love the Mother Clucker pizza. The food is plentiful, and it's a great value.

Known for its craft-style pizza made with fresh daily dough and baked in a stone oven, the tavern prioritizes using locally sourced ingredients to support farmers and food businesses.
What can I say....my motorcycle broke down in the parking lot at TTT. Several people tried to assist, including Dan, the restaurant manager. Thank you for your hospitality Dan! While there, I ordered a pretzel, Philly cheesesteak with fries, and a tea. It was all good. For the bike, Dan allowed me to leave it on property overnight. I went back the next day to pick it up. This time, ordering lunch which I had the bar bq on toast, fries and a German beer. The bar bq was really good. Hannah was my waitress, very friendly and attentive to our table. Overall, I couldn't have asked for my bike to break down anywhere else. They were very helpful, the food and drinks were good, and love the open air atmosphere.

They could have done so much better. Best item is large pretzel. The beer came in plastic cups? The food was just not good. With a little effort it would have been better. I guess they get so much business they just don’t care ? Cold beer in an ice cold glass cup is the best and only way to serve beer 🍺! Will never go there again. Super expensive too. The only bright spot was the waitress she was great!

My wife and I ate her for lunch. No wait, the waitress was very friendly, the place was very clean, the food came out very quickly. I got the mountain top burger and fries. I'll be honest. That was one of the biggest, juiciest, flavorful burgers I've ever had! I can't wait to go back and try other things!

Best burgers in town! I had the Mountain Top burger and it was mouth watering. Along with a couple Two Tire Tipsy Temples. Amazing service and atmosphere.

Edited to add photo of table/ server- thank you for your response. The service was extremely slow. There was something wrong with every order at our table. (Missing items or wrong items) we had to ask multiple times for items to be corrected. I know it was a busy weekend, but it was ridiculous. My fries were also lukewarm at best when they arrived at the table. Then when the bills came there were a couple that were not done correctly. We were not told that gratuity was included and were not given the option to view anything but the insert your card now screen before paying. 2 burgers, 2 beers, and a bottle of water should not have come to $108 ... first and last time we will visit and would NOT recommend.

This was my husband and I's first trip to Helen. We stopped in at TTT twice during our few days stay. The first time was on a Sunday during Oktoberfest, which was quite a bit busier than the next day, but the service was quick and efficient. Both visits we had beer/drinks, and the second visit ordered food as well. We ordered (to-go) the loaded potato pancakes, and loaded baked potatoes (one with Krainerwurst and the other with Knockwurst). Everything was great! This was my fist time ever trying potato pancakes, never would've thought to eat them with apple sauce but what a great suggestion by Ms. Vickie (our bartender). I wished I had ordered the platter dinner, it smelled SO delicious from across the bar. We absolutely felt right at home, and cant wait to come back and visit the area again. It was very nice to meet you Mr. Dan! It was also refreshing to see an owner (both times we went) there doing things around the establishment, being present with their staff, as well as interacting with the guests!
A. S — Google review
We had a club sandwich and it was really good. Fries and onion rings were really good. Pretzel was good as well. Drinks come in plastic Dixie cups which I didn't care for and it was overpriced. Good food and atmosphere though.

We had a great time here for Oktoberfest! The atmosphere, drinks, and service it top notch and cannot be beat. Even though they were VERY busy we got helped quickly and had plenty of seating. The drinks are also the best price and the strongest that we had in Helen. Thank you Dan and Misty - you killed it!

The Caledonia Room at Valhalla Resort Hotel is a highly-rated, romantic, and cozy dining spot located just off the lobby. The versatile room offers a sophisticated and upscale atmosphere while remaining comfortable and relaxed. With high-backed red leather booths, a large fireplace, and tall French doors, every seat in the house is appealing. The hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance of the Festhalle and a 15-minute drive from Unicoi State Park with its cabins and hiking trails.
We had a good dinner at the Caledonia Restaurant at the Valhalla Resort Hotel. The restaurant is well lit and spacious with inside and balcony seating. We were seated right away at 5pm. Our server was Amber. She is a fantastic server with a great work ethic. She is very friendly with a great personality. She seated us on the enclosed porch above the pool. I found it comfortable and quieter than the main dinning room. Amber took our drink order and brought some fresh baked hot sourdough bread and butter. The bread was warm enough to melt the butter. It had a good taste and texture. I ordered the thin fried chicken breast in rosemary cream sauce. The chicken was tender and juicy. I didn't taste much from the coating on the chicken. The thick sauce gave it a delicious rosemary and cream flavor. The Chef’s vegetables consisted of squash, Asparagus, zucchini, broccoli, and red peppers. They were a little soft but still has some crunch. The mashed potatoes with butter had good texture and taste. Amber checked back often to ensure we had everything we needed. When she showed us the dessert tray, I ended up with something I really didn’t need but wanted. I ordered the German Chocolate Cake with whipped cream. It was a good size, moist, flavorful. It was a delicious cake. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, food, and dessert. It was a good evening.

An Evening of Culinary Excellence at The Caledonia Room The Caledonia Room at the Valhalla Resort Hotel offers more than just a meal—it provides a truly memorable fine dining experience steeped in elegant, rustic charm. Every course of our recent dinner showcased the kitchen's commitment to both quality ingredients and sophisticated execution. We began our culinary journey with the classic Artichoke and Spinach Dip, served perfectly warm and rich. This comforting favorite was balanced beautifully by the Creamy Plant-Based Soup. Often, plant-based dishes can lack body, but this soup was velvety and surprisingly complex, demonstrating an innovative approach to flavor and texture that impressed everyone at the table. For the main course, the Carolina Trout was the undisputed highlight. The fish was impeccably fresh, flaky, and cooked with a lightness that allowed its delicate, natural flavors to shine. It was a true celebration of regional sourcing. The side of Sweet Potato Fries offered a perfect counterpoint—crisp on the outside, tender within, and seasoned just right to complement the savory trout. To conclude, the White Chocolate Cheesecake with Raspberries provided a decadent finale. The cheesecake was wonderfully smooth and rich with a distinct white chocolate flavor, perfectly cut by the tart, bright burst of the fresh raspberries. It was the ideal balance of sweetness and freshness. The entire experience, from the beautifully appointed dining room to the truly excellent food, was elevated by the exceptional service. Our server, Anthony Perez, was instrumental in this—he was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, ensuring every detail of our meal was flawless. The Caledonia Room confirms itself as a must-visit destination. It elevates resort dining to an art form and is highly recommended for anyone seeking a sophisticated and deeply satisfying meal.

To be considered the top notch fine dining restaurant in the area I expected to be amazed. However, this was not the case. I ordered the lamb med rare, and my husband ordered his steak medium. We both had to send then back and my lamb still came out cold and rare. They did cook his steak up but it was not med. For the price point of $54 a plate they could do better.

Caledonia Had breakfast at Caledonia two days in a row! The first day I had the typical country breakfast, scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, and a huge biscuit.. they grill the biscuits so they are really good. So the next day I went back for another breakfast and one of my favorites is an omelette with tomato and either feta or goat cheese and then crumble bacon on the top. They did it with the goat cheese and I must say it was absolutely awesome. I have been to hell in many times, but this is the first time I have been up here to Valhalla to their dining room and it was very impressive. Complimentary valet parking too!

Just beautiful! The lobby area sets the tone for entry into this posh, exclusive fine dining room. What a photo op! Piano, huge florals, elite artwork, souvenirs and gifts to buy. The Caledonia Restaurant is a culinary delight. Service was essentially perfect. A must-go for sure. We ate here after cocktails and wine upstairs at the elegant SkyBar... Wow! what a view

We have eaten dinner at the Valhalla restaurant many times now and it's one of our favorites. The chef's dishes are some of the best we have had and the staff is always courteous and attentive. During all of the holidays they decorate the dining room so you always have something new to walk into. We highly recommend it.

5/5! Staying at the Valhalla with a few friends, and a few of the staff recommended we try out the Sky Bar for drinks and dinner. The Food: After checking out their menu, I landed on the "Lump Crab Cakes" as an appetizer and the "Grilled C.A.B Ribeye" for my main entree. The crab cakes were delicious! There was plenty of crab filling and they were baked to perfection. Nicely sized too. The Ribeye was tender and juicy. Cooked to my requested temperate and the sweet potato mash that comes with it was seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend getting both options. I also had a a piece of cake from their dessert selection, but can't remember the flavor. However, I do remember it being a very delicious cake. The Service: Service here was impeccable! The staff were friendly and attentive. Service was amazing. Food was brought out in a timely manner and we didn't have to wait for water refills. The Atmosphere: The Sky Bar is located at the top of the Valhalla, and they have an open door section that shows the nice view of the mountains. Lovely place for a date or to hang with some friends. The restaurant is a little small though. Overall, a 5/5! Highly recommend coming up to the Sky Bar and checking their menu out. Lovely staff, service and food.

What a delightful experience! Brandy served us and was very attentive and answered all our questions. We enjoyed a lovely lunch. The tomato bisque was phenomenal and the grilled cheese was nice and melty. The blackened mahi sandwich had a great flavor and the serving size was very large. Slice of Helen is a charming local tavern in Helen, offering a cozy and romantic dining experience. This eatery is known for its draft brews, cocktails, and delicious New York-style pizza. Guests can also enjoy karaoke nights for some added entertainment. Despite the slightly dingy appearance, the pizza served here is highly praised for its amazing taste. The attentive waitstaff consistently provide updates on food and ensure that drinks are always full.
This place is a little rough around the edges, but it’s a HOMEMADE crust. Which is almost unheard of! I love the pesto pizza. I love the red sauce too. It’s one of the better spots in Helen!!! Be prepared to wait 30 mins. Good pizza takes time.
Jaime B — Google review
Our server, Allison, was excellent. Extremely communicative and friendly. The food was very lackluster, though. It wasn’t inedible but I probably wouldn’t come back. The cheese on the loaded fries was grainy, like instant mashed potatoes. The pizza was just very bland.
Cailey F — Google review
The food was really good but the problem is you have to wait about an hour and a half to get it. When this happened to me the first time last year I thought it was just a bad day but then it happened again. 2 hours of sitting there waiting for 30 minutes of eating. Our appetizer was the Baked Fondue which took 30 to make it to the table and did not include the "house made" bread. It was one piece of buttered and browned toast which didn't even allow us to finish off the dip. The sweet tea tasted like recycled dish water. The only redeeming factor was the pizza. My favorite was the Asian BBQ chicken; it had the perfect amount of spice with a good flavor and the crust was crunchy. I do NOT recommend going here with a group or if you are in a time crunch.

Our first time here. Like others said that smells like smoke. Mostly be because next door is a bar kind of place. The pizza was very good the server was very nice. Also prices are good.4 stars just because of the cigarette smell.

Stopped in to enjoy the karaoke and it was a great place! Definitely will be going back. They had one side just for dining which was completely separate from area that had high top tables for dining, the bar, pool table and karaoke area. Parking was available and easily accessible to/from main road. Staff was very friendly, the service was fast and the food was good. We had a pizza and it had the best oven baked crust that was light and had perfect crusted edges, the toppings and sauce were on point. This was a very welcoming place for an evening out!

Slice of Helen is fantastic! Tammy, my server, was super friendly and shared awesome insights about the town, making the experience so enjoyable. The pizza was top-notch—fresh dough, veggies straight from the market, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this spot for great food and a welcoming vibe!

I have eaten pizza all over the country, including New York and Chicago. Most places struggle to produce a decent pizza, with some being mi more than ketchup on a cracker with done govt cheese. But, this place was a Slice of Heaven . The crust was thin and crunchy, but no where near burnt. There was a nice sauce to cheese and topping ratio, where the sauce adds to the flavor, not dominates. The staff was friendly. I knocked a star off because it took over 30 minutes to get 2 slices while dining in and not very busy. But, at least it was worth the wait.

Brickhouse Pizza and Pasta really hit the spot! We had the burgers, which were juicy and full of flavor—definitely a pleasant surprise from a pizza place. The garlic knots were warm and perfectly seasoned, and the pizza tasted just as good as it looked. The service was friendly and made us feel right at home. This is hands down one of the top 2 pizzas we have ever had. Run don’t walk to this place if you want an amazing pizza. We ordered a large Cowboy pizza to share, and we did not see the pans they had on the wall before we ordered so we easily could have gotten a medium. A large is LARGE, but we ate most of it anyways because it was so amazing. GO HERE!! The staff was also attentive and super friendly. They had these funny signs all over too. It was a cool place.

Pretty good pizza! Both my husband & I were impressed by this place. My father in law was raving about it, so he wanted to take us here while we were visiting. It’s honestly some of the better pizzas we’ve have which says a lot because we’re pretty hard critics when it comes how we like our pizzas, and this comes pretty close to our perfect one! The Spinach Artichoke Dip was pretty good too!

A gem hiding in plain sight! Delicious breakfast sandwiches on GIANT flakey biscuits! They call them “cat head” biscuits because they’re as big as a cat’s head! Hahaha 😂 Funny waitress teased that they’re made from cats! The food was great, the prices reasonable, and the staff is friendly. It is counter type (cafeteria style) ordering with nice seating. It was a little pricey, but so worth it 🤩 it's rare to find a decent full southern breakfast, but they went above and beyond. The wife and I found this awesome restaurant! Service, food, and atmosphere was fabulous! We had the meatloaf meal (made onsite). It came with two sides, cornbread, and a drink for less than $20. If we come back to the area, we will definable come back here!

We had a WONDERFUL experience at Dotties! We were treated like we were old friends by everyone there. The food is AMAZING, the portions were huge, and th girls who work there are so sweet. This place serves up southern hospitality, and then some! Some of the reviews here sound ridiculous and false. It is a simple, country diner...not a fancy restaurant. So if you cannot handle a simple menu with excellent food, this is not the place for you. Kudos to the twins and the rest of the staff, wonderful people and if we lived here, we would be regulars!

My decaf coffee was excellent but my husband's regular coffee tasted funky. Eggs were below average, bacon tasted a little funky, hashbrown casserole was very good, grits and biscuit lacked flavor. Not a very nice or clean place (there was a very dusty vent on the wall). I would recommend eating elsewhere.

We’ve been out trail riding most of the morning and we’re looking for someplace to have lunch. Dottie was just across the street from our hotel. We decided to stop in. It doesn’t look like a lot from the outside, but the food and service were absolutely outstanding. My wife and I both had the roast beef, which was a bit different than we were expecting, but was really really good. Mondays Pub, located in Helen, Georgia, offers a welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors. This spot is known for its laid-back vibe and friendly staff. It's a great place to enjoy a delicious burger and cold beer while mingling with new friends. The pub also boasts an impressive bourbon selection and a solid lineup of craft beers and cocktails.
This little Pub/Restaurant is located in Helen GA and was an easy walk from our hotel. The ribs were enormous and delicious and the fries/tator tots were a large portion size and cooked crisp as we asked. I love the huge tankers they use for water and drinks. The only note is that this is a smoking allowed Pub/Restaurant, which surprised us. The weather was great so we opted to sit outside so we had no issues, but if the weather was poor, we would have gone elsewhere and missed this great food.

My biggest complaint would be the lack signage on the doors saying that it is only 21 and up allowed inside due to the smoking. Food was okay. If you’re sat outside you are kinda left out there, we got food then did not see our waitress again

Wow!! I didn’t eat, but their bourbon selection is INSANE. I’m not sure how people complain about smoking when they say they’re a bourbon and cigar bar. I live in Atlanta and it’s an amazing bourbon selection. Cigar selection is very good too. Bourbon prices are very fair. Wish the owner was my best friend, as they have some unicorns in the locked cages. Great bartenders too!! Update. Just met the owner. Nicest guy on the planet. A true bourbon fan and appreciated fellow bourbon enthusiasts. My jaw is still on the floor.

We decided to stop into this place as it was right on river so we could watch the tubing. It was extremely hot out and thought this would be the perfect spot. We got seated, waited a few minutes for our waiter to take our order. Hubby ordered a beer and water and I got Iced Tea. The beer and tea were good, but the water tasted horrible. Instead of a meal, we opted for 3 appetizers. The food was just ok. The pretzel bites had no salt on them, so basically fried dough. We had to ask for plates and silverware after our server put down our food without the table set, which is a little crazy. I will say they do honor Veterans discount, so we ended up getting $15.00 off the meal. That was very kind of them. We probably would not come back here again as it was really nothing special, but if you’re looking for a good beer and to just hang out, this is your place.

Alpine brew deck is our one of our favorite places to go. The location is great, the staff are awesome, and they take all doggos. This is my go to place when visiting Helen. This is year 9 for us and we were not disappointed.
Brittany M — Google review
I knew we were going to be in Helen for the weekend so I looked up some places. This brewery got my eye. I told my husband that it seemed like a cool place to check out and it definitely was. We got wings and they were definitely big and delicious. My kids got chicken tenders and loved the curly fries. The place was clean and the staff were nice and friendly. They complimented my shirt (WWE) and that was cool lol. Definitely will come again my next visit 😊 Everyone should check it out!
Melissa E — Google review
They have some German beer on tap. But it's served in a plastic cup and no foam. Exactly the opposite of how the Germans do it. The bratwurst is so so. The tables are sticky. So nothing German. Not a place to go back to
J — Google review
Gordon Ramsey would tear this place apart. We’ll start with the food. Which is probably the highlight of the experience. The appetizer was fresh from the freezer, the bratwurst did have good flavor though, and the fries were fresh. Other than that, nothing else was good. The drinks were mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price.. The cooks all huddled around the window staring at the guest as they received their food was strange.. most of them touching their face or phones with gloves on. The waitress mentioned a few times how she was ready to go home as more and more people walked in to be seated. Some of those guest ended up leaving shortly after not receiving menus after being by seated. Finally, the most frustrating part of the experience was the waitress hovering over our shoulder still holding the payment device while we are choosing the tip amount. Peer pressuring into leaving a good tip is how you receive a bad tip. Especially with the service received. I understand not everything is the servers fault and they can only control so much of what happens during a dining experience. But this experience was terrible.
Jordan N — Google review
Decent place, decent food and service. It's not fresh and hand made, but the price would be more if it was. Solid place to eat, but not a standout place to recommend it return to. We got the jalapeno poppers for an appetizer, I got the chicken sandwich and my wife got the burger. I had chips and she had the curly fries. We had just come into town and were hungry so we just stopped at the first place close.
Michael C — Google review
We paid $76 for 2 $11 drinks, an appetizer that was very obviously frozen wonton, and 2 bratwurst entrees. The best part was the bratwurst itself but the meal itself was overpriced. The wonton only had 5 and small. The cooks were staring at us and other customers through the window overlooking the bar and were kind of creeped out. I could hear them yelling in the back and I could see one was on his phone while wearing the black gloves. Thats not sanitary. Our server was pushy when I went to pay and wouldn't let me hold the "clover" device while trying to add a tip. Its rude to hover over someone while asking them to press a button to add a tip. I hit custom tip and she insisted that I wasn't able to hold the device because people steal them.... Not only that but the server would walk out of the kitchen into the patio asking "is everyone good?" Like as a whole. Didn't take the time to check on each table if the food was OK or if we needed anything else. We didn't need anything and I would speak up if we did. It was just very shocking how laid back and unprofessional the people who WORK there were acting. We tipped the server but honestly after looking back I wish we didn't. This was not a good experience and we would have had better food and better service if we went to a different restaurant.

Subway is a popular sandwich chain with outlets in many parts of the world. This outlet is located on South Main Street and offers health-conscious sandwiches and salads. The meatball Marina sub was especially good, although the pizza is unavailable. Some customers were disappointed that Subway does not carry this product, while others found it convenient to have an outlet close by. There is ample parking available.
I don’t usually leave reviews for fast food but I felt like this one was deserved after seeing their score on google! I stopped by to pick up lunch for my husband and I! My experience was wonderful, the guy that helped me was nice and patient with me since I was trying to figure out what to order my husband. Also, the quality of the sandwiches were the best I’ve had from subway in a while!

Completely uncooked pizza crust, rude staff. When I complained, she said no matter how much she cooks it, its gonna remain the same as this is how the base is supposed to be, soft -.- that’s obviously not how heat or an oven works -_-

Ordered a spicy Italian with chips and extra cap, got a sub with cap only. Door Dash, so I know the employees had to read…their one weakness. Have an injured knee, their phone wasn’t working, so I walked a mile to return their sub. No apologies. But made me a new sub. Thanks.

Ok so I ordered a sub online today and got onions and tomatoes which I did not ask to be put on my sandwich this is ridiculous! And who ever thought to put onions and tomatoes on my sandwich should be written up!

Not sure why the dude behind the counter has such an attitude. Smh... second visit went a lot better. Folks was nice . Sandwich was excellent. Place was clean.. I really enjoyed my visit and food. I stop here and eat while waiting for a tattoo from the tattoo place next to it. And I wait there while my bf gets his tattoo. They never say anything about my sitting there while waiting. So that's a plus.!!! Oh ya.. try the turkey with bacon sub..it's delicious!!!

The Loft Tavern and Grill is a must-visit spot in Helen, known for its delicious food, generous portions, and friendly staff. Visitors rave about the tasty entrees, particularly recommending the onion rings for their unique batter that's reminiscent of funnel cake. The fish and chips are also highly praised as a must-try dish. With great service and a fun atmosphere, it's an ideal place to enjoy a satisfying meal while exploring the area.
The staff are super nice, helpful, and fun. I ate dinner here twice in one weekend and both entrees were delicious as well. I highly recommend the onion rings (or anything fried) as they use a different batter that is more like a funnel cake so it's all super delicious.

Buffalo shrimp was 90% breading. Irish Nachos were covered in drippy nacho cheese, iceberg lettuce, and ranch. For the nachos, I would prefer melted shredded cheese that is baked for a different style of nachos. The atmosphere is excellent! Staff is friendly. Football is on the TVs. The pool table on the second floor is always a good time. Will definitely come here for drinks again, but will probably pass on the food for the next visit. The manager was friendly and open to suggestions. Good establishment in Helen.

Don't waste your money here! The food was disgusting. Overcooked phillycheese steaks, greasy chicken tenders. Manager acted like he cared less about the quality of the food. Place could actually be a gold mine if properly managed and run. Bar Rescue help these people out. Disappointed to say the least. Never again!! 1 Star was ONE too many!!

Food was poor. Not restaurant quality. Burgers were tiny and like what I make at home. $12 for it. Way way to much. This use to be a place yrs ago with fine dining. So sad...karaoke was different then I'm use to. Sing a song dance for 20 min. The place was dead tho.

Worst ever we never even ate there because the service well there was no service. We got seated then 5 minutes went by and no one came to take our drink order. We had 2 different people go and look for one. Someone finally came and said she wasn'tt our server but they were short handed and someone just came on shift. We just got up and left because the 2 tables near us were having problems with there good not being correct. We sat on the screened porch upstairs. The bar was packed. But none cared about the folks eating upstairs. If anyone asks where not to eat. Your place will NOT be at the top of my list.

I want to start off by saying that Justin's service and attentiveness were stellar and above and beyond the call of duty! Great job Justin and thanks for taking the time when you were super busy to dialogue with my wife and I! I only have one negative thing to say about this 5 star establishment to the head chef in the kitchen! Please change your oil in the fryers more frequently! The reason I say this is because between the fish and chips and Irish nachos that my wife and I ordered it was very obvious that the oil was a bit over used. Other than that it was a great experience for us and I would come back again and recommend this place to friends and family! Great service!

Hoochee’s River Basket is a charming cafe located on the Chattahoochee, offering a delightful selection of chef-influenced sandwiches, breakfast casseroles, homemade desserts, salads, and soups. The cafe's specialty lies in its made-from-scratch items and freshly prepared biscuits every hour during breakfast. With a riverfront porch providing a scenic dining experience, this cozy spot opens daily from 6AM to 3PM (closed on Wednesdays).
We found this place as we were passing through and it was amazing. Staff was so friendly!! We got one of the smash burgers and a vegetarian option for a sandwich. Also got their signature fries. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and made from scratch. A very fun place and a great place to get a filling meal. 10/10 a must go. It is small but so worth it.

This family-owned spot served up the most delicious burger I’ve ever had; the smash burger is next-level. Everything tasted fresh, and the setting couldn’t be better. The restaurant sits right on the bank of a small river, with outdoor seating that gives you a quiet, scenic view. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the whole place has a relaxed, genuine vibe. It’s tucked just outside the hustle of Main Street Helen, so getting there takes a little commitment—especially if there’s an event going on and traffic is backed up. We decided to walk the mile, and it was absolutely worth it. If you’re heading toward Anna Ruby Falls, the restaurant is right at the junction. The washroom was spotless, and you’ll be greeted by a photo of a donkey with the caption “Nice Ass”—a perfect bit of humor to match the place’s charm. Fresh food, great people, unbeatable setting. Don’t miss it.

If you’re looking for a fantastic hole in the wall restaurant, Hoochie is the place! We loved it so much that we ate here 3 times while on our vacation to Helen! Breakfast and lunch is phenomenal! My husband even got lunch for breakfast one morning. It’s a small restaurant, but the staff is friendly and the service is fast and definitely worth the trip! We highly recommend trying the breakfast burrito, the Joey (sloppy joe), and the chopped cheese burger (which won best burger in Georgia award)! We will definitely be back!
Rachel P — Google review
Really neat little roadside stop with mouthwatering burgers. I have tried the original hoochees burger, the hidden menu whiskey burger, and the breakfast burrito. All were great but my favorite was the original burger for its classic flavor and affordable price. They have a dog friendly outdoor patio right beside a creek with shade umbrellas and a little indoor seating area if it’s bad weather. Parking is tight but there are several spaces around the back to park or you can park out of the way at the gas station. If you are in Helen area go here!

The burgers were amazing, truly deliciously made. You have to try it! My only complaint about the food would be the size, I found it a little small but that is a personal preference. The food is delicious, the service was what disappointed me. In our party of 6, 3 of us had the same order of smash burgers and 2 of us had ordered a chopped cheese with bacon. The rest of us were all fulfilled with our order, but my mom was missing a patty and the bacon from her burger. My mom knew this because we compared all of our burgers to make sure we didn’t take anyones order, its common sense to differentiate them. When she went to show them, they told her that they had already given us the right burger and someone else in our party must’ve eaten it. Instead of just listening to us and placing the bacon on the burger which is literally all my mom wanted, they accused us of lying and refused to just look at the burger. There was zero need to come out with a receipt after the fact claiming that you brought it out and you know you did so it must’ve been one of our fault. At least look at the burger then correct if needed, but they refused to even acknowledge it. Truly a problem that could’ve been avoided. This is a pic of my burger, was great. I wish I got a photo of the burger that was done wrong.

We decided to stop here for breakfast (grp of 6) on our way to Anna Ruby Falls. WAY Surpassed our expectations. Everyone ordered different things and was amazing. We went back for lunch the next day and all our burgers were the BEST we've ever had.

Best breakfast and lunch in Helen! Everything on their menu is amazing. We usually go for the breakfast burrito, biscuits and gravy, biscuit with meat, egg and cheese, and potatoes. Their sausage is delicious (and they get their breakfast meats from a local distributor out of Gainesville, Georgia) and if you eat anything here, you won’t be disappointed. Their customer service is fabulous and we look forward to eating here anytime we head to Helen.. Do yourself a favor and give Hoochies a try for breakfast or lunch! If you go for lunch, try the Buddha burger or the Chicken Philly!!

Alpine Cafe is a popular spot, especially during events like the hot air balloon race and alpine vag fair. Despite the influx of people, the hostess efficiently managed the waiting list. First time eating here at Alpine Cafe and we came for breakfast. Our wait was minimal and we got seated quickly. The food was delicious. I recommend the pancakes and the bacon is divine. Our server Michelle was friendly and very attentive. I’ll be back for sure!

Cute cafe, basic breakfast options. Food was good overall. They were out of bacon so we got sausage that was unfortunately cold, but the eggs and home fries were great. Service was fine, they had a pleasant attitude, but did not anticipate our needs or check on us. If you need a quick laid back spot, this would be a good option, but I'm sure there's better breakfast in town. 🤷‍♀️

WE only ate breakfast here, so I can't review the other types of food they offer. Home fries were crunchy and flavorful, pancake was delicious, bacon cooked perfect, service was good, and they give a REALLY NICE military discount! My husband had country fried steak which he really liked and one our second trip there he really enjoyed the omelette. Thank you for the discount and good food! When in Helen, breakfast is definitely a must at Alpine Cafe!!

Food was very very average. The only things I recommend are the home fries and a latte. Once sat it took over 10 minutes to get greeted and our server seemed bothered we were here. The breakfast pizza looks nothing like the picture from other reviews. I wouldn’t choose to come here again.

We waited 30 minutes for a table and when we were seated, we were told the restaurant was out of bacon, home fries, country fried steak, cheddar cheese, and blueberry bagels… it doesn’t sound like a lot, but it left most of our party disappointed. Food came out so staggered that some people had finished eating by the time all of the food was on table. On the bright side, the coffee bar was wonderful and the barista was extremely friendly. One of the loveliest parts of our trip.

Unfortunately this place is the farthest from hygienic. It’s not just visually dirty either... BOTH dishes we ordered had human hair in them. Besides the fast it just didn’t even taste great to begin with (pizzas). I wanted to like this place because staff was friendly but... definitely wouldn’t suggest.

I've had better pizza from sketchy gas stations. $8.99 for an 8" or $22.99 for a 16" (yes, read that again). The dining area is also their storage area, and the whole place was filthy. There are plenty of other pizza places in Helen - please don't go here.

Don’t go here!! You have been warned!! The customer service was terrible and the people were either rude or oblivious. First of all, the man couldn’t answer any of my or my friends questions. He gave my friend coconut instead of vanilla, like read the signs!!! Second of all I asked the woman if the ice cream was gluten free and she glared at me and said with an attitude “Everything is normal!” Third of all the place was dirty and run down. Would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy. The cashier tied to charge my friend $9.50 for ice cream when mine was only $6.56. Overall the visit wasn’t worth it.

This place is so lack of cleanliness. The restroom is GROSS. Literally the worst restroom I've ever been to. Also there's a bunch of flies around. There was trash all over the floor, and they take out the trash bags while many customers are eating. Which is absolutely DISGUSTING. They seriously need to improve all of these aspects. I give them 2 stars cause the pizza was good. But not as good like to turn a blind eye over all of the other stuff.

First off, I don't give any fast food restaurant and higher than 3 stars. We ran in for some ice cream. Service was quick, the ice cream was good and the restaurant was fairly clean. This restaurant has the same issue that most of Helen has in that it needs to be updated.

We ordered a pizza, an order of wings, 1cheese burger, 1cheese fries,3 sodas and a water. Bill was $54.00. I thought the kid made a mistake when he told me how much. While the pizza was good, the rest wasn't. Definitely not worth $54.00 . The ketchup and mustard bottles on the table were disgusting. It looked like many dirty hands used the bottles and they were never cleaned. I don't think bleach could have cleaned them. Thank God there were packs available by the soda fountain. I feel bad posting this, but the truth is the truth.

Good experience at River Haus. I got the Greek gyro sandwich they called donor or something like that. It was actually really good, and I grew up near a huge Greek population in Florida, so my gyro bar is high. The fries were good. Staff was really kind. Wife got the fish and chips and she liked them. Prices were fair considering you are in a tourist town. I don't drink beer, but noticed they had a huge row of tap beer. But at the time they have about 20.

I came here with my child for lunch. It was essentially dead other than a couple of people at the bar. Unfortunately, the staff acted that way as well. No smiles or friendliness to be had. It took nearly 1 hour to get our food. The fired green tomatoes(appetizer) were not that great. As you can tell from the picture, the fries were burnt.. The meal was given to us Luke warm. How does it take and hour to get our food and it's not even HOT???? The alcohol beverages were good though. There was a child at the next table crying because he was hungry. The wait for food was ridiculous & the place wasn't even packed. And one of the waiters took the trash out while serving us. And came to the table with a black trash bag. WTH?? I've been a waiter in my college years & it was never the waiters duty to take trash out during restaurant hours. It was done after we closed.

Heidi Haus is a charming Polish restaurant located in Helen, Georgia. It's known for its authentic Polish cuisine and cozy alpine chalet ambiance, making diners feel like they've escaped to Europe. The restaurant is only open on weekends, but the wait is worth it for those craving delicious pierogis and kielbasa. Visitors can expect warm hospitality and a menu that celebrates the flavors of Poland with dishes like Jager Schnitzel and Weiner Schnitzel.
Naturally, sharing the same name with the establishment, I had to give it a try! It's a small cafe/restaurant located above one of the souvenir shops in the heart of Helen. I ordered the pierogis, sausage and the Jäger schnitzel, which were all made to order. You can hear the chef pounding the pork in the kitchen so it doesn't get fresher than that! Everything was delicious, fresh and appropriately portioned. When the owner found out my name was Heidi, he gave me a free beer, which was very nice of him. We spoke to the owner (who is also the chef) who gave us a background on where's from and how he came to plant roots in this adorable German town. 5 stars all around!

Stopped in for a late lunch and sat at the 4 seat bar area. It was a really interesting vibe - a small little spot upstairs near the main beer garden area had Jay-Z, Macklemore, and DNCE jamming through the little space. We stumbled upon Heidi Haus in the center of Helen after noticing they had pierogis. Growing up in the Midwest these were a staple of our poor but tasty diets. A little smoked kielbasa doesn’t hurt either. It was made-to-order by the owner. Nice guy with good stories to tell about how he ended up in Helen. We wish him all the best.

Restaurant
The taste of the food at Wild Hogs BBQ was truly delightful, but the prices were quite high. It could be attributed to the fact that it was October fest and Helen was crowded. Since this restaurant seemed relatively empty, it became our only choice. However, we had no regrets as the sides were not outstanding, but the barbecue itself was exceptional! The establishment is simple, lacking in extensive customer service since you are charged for your meal and are required to collect it from the counter yourself.
Stopped by Wild Hogs BBQ in Helen for a quick bite to go before the balloons and I’m so glad I did. The tables inside were pretty full and I was concerned my order may take awhile but service was very fast and I made the event in plenty of time. I will probably always order brisket at BBQ joints because it just can’t be beat.
Melissa B — Google review
Quick service, but the food was average. I ordered the brisket plate with two sides and got 3 slices of brisket. I believe the brisket was at least a day old. A smoked chicken plate had so much pepper seasoning that my wife and granddaughter couldn't eat it. Sides of Brunswick Stew and Collards were also very spicy and impossible to finish. The restaurant was clean, and the service was quick, our only positive.
Phil P — Google review
Really good flavor! Prices high! Maybe because was October fest and Helen was packed. This restaurant was kind of empty so was the only option. No regrets, the sides wasn't that great but the BBQ was excellent! Simple restaurant, no big costumer service because they just charge you for the food and clients needs to pick up in the counter, clean the table and throw away trash by themselves so save your tip!😊💖💖💖
Sandra I — Google review
I was saddened by the food quality, and really hoping for more effort on the indoor ambiance. Worst BBQ I've had outside of NC, where I live. The brisket was dry and lacking flavor, but the tables have sauces to self marinate. The potatoes were nothing to write home about either. I would like to add, this place appears to have been opened very recently and I have not had BBQ in GA before.
Mandy H — Google review
Great bbq. Fast friendly service. We ordered take out and the cashier made sure we found the sauces and utensils before we even looked. I liked the viniger sauce the best. Has a dinning area. The store was very clean. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The Mac and cheese was different from what I'm used to, but it was better than I usually get. Very cheesey.Great job. Best in Helen. I get up there a few times a year. This will be my new stop.
Roscoe S — Google review
Everything was pretty good if dry. Got the brisket and ribs for me and the GF and our friend got the pulled pork which she said the same, pretty good but dry. Their sauces are good so they make up for it being dry a bit. The inside is a nice looking little restaurant. It was a slower night so maybe just didn’t have any super fresh? Definitely gonna give it another shot if I come back this way some time.
Miguel R — Google review
Food is fantastic. The pulled pork, mac and cheese with collards were all perfect. The sauces are all good but very sweet. The 'hot' sauce tasted more mild to me, but was still good. I gave 4* for the service because the lady taking our order didn't know what a vinegar based BBQ sauce was
Erik H — Google review
After waiting for so long for this to open, our mouths were watering with anticipation. Unfortunately, it was far from amazing. Aside from the meat, barbeque is judged by the public by potato salad, baked beans and Brunswick stew. None of these were up to par. Potato salad is not palletable, beans were weird and almost canned, stew was more of a vegetable stew. Meat was moist but had no flavor nor smokiness. Disappointed we paid $35 for this experience. Bathrooms were clean, girl at the register was not rude but neither was she welcoming. Originally asked for smoked chicken. I was told they didn't have any!?! As we were finishing our meal, another girl from the back came out and told the girl at the register, "chicken is finally done!" It was 3:44PM. They close at 7PM. Restaurant is clean. Picnic table seating. I'd love to come back in the fall and replace my review with an amazing update. This area needs some good local barbque. Pork plate (x2) Potato salad (x2) Baked beans Brunswick stew 2 drinks

If you're on the hunt for a delightful BBQ experience, look no further than PiNK PiG Southern BBQ. This charming eatery offers a variety of mouthwatering options, including ribs, pulled pork, and brisket that can be ordered by the pound. Diners rave about the juicy and tender ribs while also enjoying sides like sweet potatoes that cater to gluten-free diets. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it perfect for a late lunch or dinner without long waits.
Stopped in for a late lunch on a Tuesday at around 2. Place was not busy at all. Walked right up and placed our order with Taylor who was very helpful. Wife had the Pork Sandwich Basket with fries and I had the Rib Plate with Collards and Potato Salad. All of the food was very good. The ribs were juicy and very tender. The collards were cooked perfectly and were sweet and not bitter. The fries had a very tasty and had good seasoning on them. I had the October Fest draft beer which was very good. Only negative was that they were out of fountain Coke. Everything was very good and we will definitely eat here again when in the area.

This is our second time visiting the pink pig in Helen, and honestly it was just ok. The service is great, and the sauces are still excellent. My smoked wings were very good, and the chicken tenders the kids agreed were pretty good, however, my wife's brisket sandwich was not great. The meat looked very pink and shiny, and was super grisly. While I understand this is down to the specific cut and the animal it came from, but it was just an unpleasant eating experience. The fries are pretty much on point.
OMG G — Google review
I’m not a huge fan of BBQ but my friend wanted to try the PINK PIG out! I got the bologna sandwich and it was amazing! My friend got a brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries and collards! She loved all of it! We will definitely return! I should also mention that our service was amazing even though you order at the counter! I don’t remember her name but she had red hair…. she deserves a shout out because she was understanding with the fact we had never been there before and needed time to order!
Adelaide W — Google review
Very friendly owner and staff. Super helpful, good prices and GREAT bbq. Ive had tons of wonderful bbq and very particular about the bbq I eat and what I find fit as “ good bbq”. This place hit all the marks. The smoked turkey was very tender, zero dryness, juicy and a great deep smoke flavor. The special they had going on at the time was “Tater Tuesday” which was a HUGE loaded baked potato with pulled pork. Smoke rings were visible on the pork. Bacon was Smokey and added a great touch to the potato and wasn’t over powering. Amazing experience.
Grant S — Google review
Small but spacious between tables. Food was good and service was excellent! The Mac and cheese was different from what I normally expect but it was good. The ribs were bomb especially with the sauce choices. The collards could’ve been better but did the job. Overall good experience good process and quality food.
Brittney R — Google review
Stayed around the corner from this place and the smell was enough to make you hungry, even if you had already eaten. Stopped in to just try the Brunswick stew, but couldn’t resist getting a couple of ribs to try. The stew was pretty much on point with others, however I added a little of the vinegar sauce and some sweet and it kicked it up. The ribs were cooked perfectly and even though I only had two, I tried them plain, with the vinegar sauce and the sweet. It didn’t make any difference, because the ribs themselves were just that good. I’m sure others taste buds are going to differ, but if you’re looking for a taste of southern BBQ, this is a good spot. It’s a little hidden from the main road, but if you get close, roll down the window and follow the BBQ smell.
Michael B — Google review
This was definitely a good spot in Helen GA. I ordered the half chicken with Texas toast. Collards, and Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was almost perfect (4.8/5) The breadcrumbs did not add anything to them. It just gave it an odd texture. (Fix that) The collards were good (3.5/5) they need a bit more flavoring. I recommend cooking them with turkey neck. It will bring out lots of flavor that it was missing. Texas toast. Well it was toast. (5/5) Smoked chicken was very good (4.5/5) You can definitely taste flavor and the skin was delicious. Most of the meat stayed nice and juicy. However the breast portion was VERY dry. I recommend basting the breast portion once or twice extra with some butter when smoking it so that it doesn’t come out nearly as dry. Now for the BBQ Sauces Mustard based: tasted like Dijon mustard from the bottle. I’m from South Carolina and was hoping for a good Carolina gold bbq sauce. Sweet: best one. No notes. Keep it as is. Hot: no notes. Keep as is. Ranch bbq sauce: throw that out. Tasted like mayo with bad bbq sauce. Don’t serve nasty sauces like that. This was the nastiest sauce. Inedible. Overall, decent food. The service was mediocre. (Definitely can improve) I would come back again personally.

Great experience here. The sweet potato fries were bomb. They had many sauces to choose from. The brisket was tender and delicious. The jalapeño poppers were good!

Beer garden
King Ludwig Biergarten is a lively spot in the heart of Helen, GA, offering an authentic German beer garden experience. The outdoor space features picnic tables where guests can enjoy Bavarian cuisine and a wide selection of German beers. The festive atmosphere, complete with live music on some evenings, adds to the charm. During Oktoberfest, the scene becomes even more vibrant with musicians entertaining the crowds as servers deliver steins of beer and light bites to the courtyard picnic tables.
Atmosphere was fun with live entertainment and the gentleman that was singing and playing the guitar was very good. My family all had bratwurst plate with sauerkraut and potatoes. Food came out fast and was very delicious I would definitely recommend for anyone in town looking for a quick bite
Mike M — Google review
Great place with live music and good drinks. BUT be advised the Automatically place a at least 20% gratuity and the don’t tell you and the notice on the menu isn’t that easy to see. Love the place but disappointed!
Bert N — Google review
BE VERY CAREFUL with this place. Oktoberfest is always fun in Helen! I have always enjoyed this place for few years, and always recommended them. But this past experience wasn't a good one. I bought 2 beers refills, 1 beer with mug, and 5 sausages. I remember seeing in the card machine around low $80s, and I was never prompted for tip on the card machine. They didn't give me a receipt, and I left some cash as tip (as I always do). Next day, I see a charge of $96 on my card. The only explanation I have is that they added 20% tip without my consent. I did not see any sign nowhere in the establishment saying that they charge 20% on everything. If you are owner of this business, please check what they are doing on the outside bar. If you are the owner of this place, and you know this is going on, please stop it. Don't loose the trust of your customers. If this happened to you too, please don't stay silent.
Abdel B — Google review
Stay away during Oktoberfest!!!! The bartender thought I was drunk so when I ordered a beer and a Jagermeister she gave herself a fat tip. I didn’t realize until I tapped to pay and saw the total. When I asked her about it she mumbled something about charges for the cup and “auto gratuities.” When I watched the next three transactions for my friends she selected 20% gratuities for herself, but not the giant one she charged me. Who selects their own tip???
Richard C — Google review
Bartender didn't even look up when we got to her after waiting in line for 15 mins. She was going over something with a waitress and never acknowledged us. Stood there for way too long, finally left and went to another line... quick service from that bartender. Overpriced beer, though... was charged $2 more than posted. Since I paid cash, I didn't get a receipt. After reading comments here, I see auto gratuity is added, which is fine, but i didn't see that posted in line at the bar. If you're going to charge tips automatically, take the tip jars down. I gave a tip there, not knowing i had already been charged a tip. It was right before 9pm when we got there and the singer went on break for 30 mins. We waited, because we love listening to him. He didn't play long when he came back, but that's understood as he's there all day long. We'll get there earlier next time.

Really wanted to enjoy a delicious Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese and mustard - really a big miss here. It wasn't even warm, the beer cheese tastes canned. Look elsewhere if you want a good pretzel in Helen.

Pretty cool little German town in Helen GA! They have a mountain roller coaster that you need to try... we also did a love lock, but I'm not sure I would waste your money on that as the city cuts the lock and throws it away once a week. So it is not there forever like it used to be... dissappointing.

If you find yourself in Helen, don’t miss out on Q'Paso Latin Grub, a delightful culinary oasis that stands out amidst the tourist scene. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality from the Cuban owners and staff who are eager to share their passion for authentic cuisine. The atmosphere is inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the town. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering dishes that highlight traditional Cuban flavors.
Absolutely loved our lunch at Qué Pasó Latin Grub in Helen, GA! We had the Cuban sandwich with fries, yuca, sweet plantains, and a chicken bowl with rice and black beans everything was super flavorful and tasted authentically Cuban. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the service was top notch. The tropical, homey vibe of the decor was great, and the ceiling design with muffin liners was such a cool, unique touch. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Yohanna P — Google review
I generally don’t leave reviews quickly but this place clearly won a spot on the list. Small little spot with lots of flavor. We had the Cuban sandwich and you can tell they put that work into making the food taste as if you were in Havana. With the food being good, staff friendly, and excellent choices in beer, you can’t help but give it a 5 out of 5. They also have the staple of Cuban coffee that you can only get with the right amount of sugar and coffee perfectly combined.
Freddie B — Google review
I am not a review person. There has to be a little extra something. The food was spectacular. Not just good. We had the Cuban and an agapa and a burrito. Every bite was packed with flavor. The burrito was enormous! The owner even came around to check on all the customers and make sure everything was how we expected it. You order in line and food is brought to your table. No names given, just memory. Love the decor, the ceiling was my favorite part. You can tell more than just food is present here. We will be back every time we come as long as this place is open. Highly recommend!

I have to say the empanada was bomb dot com. The texture was impeccable! A perfect flakiness. The savory meat, was like getting to the chocolate to the center of the Tootsie pop. Amazing! I love this sweet and savory flavor. 10 stars. The venue has a very low-key atmosphere, with great salsa music in the background. The service is always extremely friendly. The prices are reasonable. The food at Q'Paso Latin Grub is one of the best choices in Helen. #facts I live in Helen... so this is not coming from a tourist. However, I am originally from Las Vegas, meaning = I AM very familiar with good quality food from any culture. REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Great Venue Ambiance 2. Reasonable prices 3. Very friendly staff 4. Excellent Authentic Latin Food 5. The Cubano ( Cuban ) Sandwich 6. The Empanadas
God's B — Google review
I had high expectations for enjoying some delicious Latin food, but unfortunately, this place didn’t meet them. I ordered the yuca, and it was completely burnt. The sandwich with pork was also disappointing, the food was very oily and heavy. The service wasn’t great either. Latin food is usually full of flavor and warmth, but that wasn’t the case here. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this spot, there are much better options in Helen.
Marcela R — Google review
Q'Paso Latin Grub is an absolute gem and the culinary highlight of Helen! If you're looking for a meal bursting with authentic, vibrant Latin flavors, this is the place to be. It truly offers an escape into delicious Cuban and Latin fusion cuisine. The food is nothing short of exceptional. We highly recommend starting with the Empanadas—they're perfectly flaky and filled with savory goodness. For the main event, you simply cannot leave without trying their famous Cuban Sandwich. It’s pressed to perfection and loaded with flavor, easily one of the best in the state. Their menu is extensive, though, with protein bowls and comforting Yucca Fries also being popular favorites. Everything is prepared with visible care and the freshest ingredients. Beyond the fantastic food, the entire experience is wonderful. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, making it perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, ensuring everyone feels welcome and making each visit feel special. Whether you're a local or just passing through Helen, stop in at Q'Paso Latin Grub. The generous portions, fast service, and commitment to great Cuban food make it a definite five-star experience!
