What a find! I met a friend here for lunch, it's half way for us, both travelling an hour and a half. I ate here about 7 years ago with my mum and remembered how dog friendly they were. I took my well behaved lab x Springer and they were brilliant with her, offering water and giving her treats with my permission. The staff were outstanding and the food delicious. We had the 3 course 'set menu' at £24.95. I had mushroom terrine and my friend had goat's cheese tart. I then had the fish pie and she had steak and fries. We both had the sticky toffee pudding followed by coffee. This is such a lovely place, nice and cosy but bright room with decent parking. We will definitely go back, loved it. Beautiful building.

We were met with a warm welcome at The Haughmond when visiting for an evening meal. The people serving us were lovely with our young children. We enjoyed drinks in the garden before going inside to enjoy delicious and beautifully cooked food. I had a the cod which was very enjoyable. The children meals were well received, we all especially enjoyed the chunky chips. Welcoming, pleasant surroundings, great food and beautiful location. We look forward to visiting again.

Popped into The Haughmond on a whim for Sunday lunch and was so glad I did! The beef roast was tender and melted in the mouth, with seasonal veg cooked to perfection and generous portions. Lovely countryside setting, great value, and Amanda and the team were friendly and attentive. Easily one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had near Shrewsbury – highly recommend!

The food is a touch expensive, but it's definitely reflected in the quality of the food. Amanda, Mike and especially Poppy are all incredible hosts at The Haughmond and I cannot recommend booking a room high enough! The views are incredible, it's peaceful and in the countryside, and it's a tranquil area to go for a peaceful walk. Also, it's dog friendly which always gets 5* from me. P.S. - get the cheeseboard.

Fabulous country hotel with wonderful views. Accommodation was comfortable and quiet and everything worked. The breakfasts were indeed outstanding and the John Dory I had was perfect. My partner’s pie he did say the meat was however was tough and dry. During our 2 night stay the only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars was mainly due to the constant sewage smell up the stairs and the corridors to the accommodation and secondly the mojito cocktail, this drink should not have been served if Ingredients were not in stock such as sparkling water, lime, and mint. I just got tap water and lime cordial for £7.50.
Josephine D — Google review
Stopped here for a quick drink and bowl of chips half way on a walk we were doing. Sat in the garden and enjoyed a lovely beer with our quick snack. Barman was lovely and attentive. Service to garden table.
Graeme T — Google review
We were at The Haughmond for Sunday Lunch. Superb find as its in a great location, very pretty surroundings and good roads to get there. We enjoyed the Asparagus foam starter and Venison starter followed by the John Dory fish fillets and I had the Sunday Roast Beef. All delicious but especially my Roast Beef dinner, the vegetables were the best I've tasted in a long time and the roast beef was cooked just on rare, which was perfect. We had the (deconstructed) cheesecake for desert, which was beautiful. We shall certainly be back. The only slight issue I had was that the female Cyclists who were using the cafe next door (part of The Haughmond) were clip clopping their way through the restaurant in their lycra to use the toilet. As a cyclist myself and someone who likes to enjoy a meal out on a Sunday, a separate toilet needs to be provided on the cafe side, then it would feel like fine dining.

Alderford Lake is a fantastic destination for a family outing, offering 14 acres of water activities such as wild swimming, canoeing, and paddle-boarding. The highlight is the upgraded Aquapark featuring an inflatable playground with various obstacles to climb and jump over. Additionally, visitors can enjoy lakeside picnics and indulge in food options available on-site. The venue has evolved over the years, providing excellent amenities for open water swimming and water sports like paddle boarding and kayaking.
Great place to go for a day out, paddle boarding on the lake or let the children play on the water activity centre . They have changing rooms, coffee shop and ice cream parlour . A good footpath for the mile long walk around the lake with plenty of benches to sit and admire.
Les J — Google review
Good facilities. Aquapark party booked for 11 yr old, all kids enjoyed. Would give 5 stars for this activity. Parking was £5 for the day. Charged extra £19 service fee on top for booking the party package. I've never paid any such fee for a party package booking before and felt this was excessive & could be communicated better! We paid extra to book in our own paddleboards in the afternoon, this was good value. Good number of picnic tables were available. Kids enjoyed the little play park too. Unfortunately, on arrival the IT system wasn't working well & staff struggled to find names & waivers for our pre-booked guests which led to delays and frustrated people behind us in the long que! The food hut que was very long & once served was told the coffee machine was broken!! Happy the pre booked, hot party food was ready on time. Decent coffee was available in the main cafe. Despite the few niggles, we all had a lovely, memorable day. Very much hope to return in the near future.

It was an amazing place for a swim. Totally beautiful, I loved it. It was nice not to be time limited in the water, although at this time of year I can’t stay in for such a long time.
Andrea H — Google review
The prices you charge for a day pass is extortionate. I live in the lake district and you can wonder about any lake for FREE with your dogs. I get the chargers for paddleboarding and water park, I even get paying to park as money can go to keeping of this facility, but charging £10 for me to walk my dog around what you all call a lake, while my kids can paddleboard is disgusting.
Amanda — Google review
Visited Alderford lake today with the family during our holiday. Absolutely fantastic day out. Pre booked online and all the information was clearly stated online and had no issue getting into anything or issues with queus. My cousin forgot her flip flops so went in the cafe to look for some. Staff were very accommodating and helpful and told us where to go and we got some no problem. I was worried it would be busy and it was but hardly noticeable with the amount of space and had plenty room to mooch about and plenty of benches to sit on and the lake was very refreshing. Also went on the aqua park. A simple process and safety briefing and even tho it was only an hour it felt a lot longer than that and the park was worth it as it was lot harder than it first looked and the people and lifeguards were very helpful around the course. Someone even helped pull me out and had some funny interactions with people on the course in my session. Didn’t hear a bad word from anyone with some shouting it’s absolutely fantastic and the kids around were loving it and getting stuck into the course. My grandma came with us but dint go on anything and she said she didn’t feel left out and had a great day laughing at people on the obstacles and interacting with other people watching along with her. We took our own food and drink so didn’t bother with buying any, only thing i will say it seened very expensive for what it was. In response to the stupid reviews on here regarding staff interaction and food. It’s a very busy location and staff don’t have time to see to everyone and treat you like you are important because frankly you are probably not, they are very helpful and accommodating when required. If you want 5* food and customer service go to a proper restaurant like the shard where you will get that kind of service. This is a place where you swim and go on an aqua park it’s not for 5* food and staff interaction as it’s simply a place where you swim and go on an obstacle course. Absolutely no issues at-all even parking being free for 3 hours and getting in and out was no bother and there was plenty of facilities to hire equipment paddle boarding and canoes. Also included toilets and changing rooms and a cafe with a few takeaway sections for drinks and burgers/pizza. We loved it and will 100% recommend and plans for a return in the future are already underway. Fantastic day thanks Alderford 👊

To say I found this experience disappointing is an understatement. From the moment we entered until when we left I don't think I saw any of the staff smile. As we left and walked past some of the serving staff nobody bothered to thank us for coming. While the place wasn't busy, maybe 30 to 40% full, the staff seemed lethargic and uninterested. 6 pounds and 50 pence for the granola breakfast was very overpriced and it was bland at best. My wife's breakfast arrived and the sausage and bacon with tepid. They tried to deliver an incorrect order to us. No one bothered to check if we were happy with the meal we had been served. The table next to us ordered a breakfast with 3 eggs and when it arrived with two eggs and they challenge this the staff went away and said there were no spare eggs. How can a restaurant serving breakfast not have spare eggs? The marquee seating area looked very rugged as if little carer had been taken for both it's finished and none of the seating or tables matched some of it look like it came out of an office. I don't know how to finish this review as I've never given a review this bad and I've have given a lot of reviews. While I appreciate this is just my personal opinion I feel that alderford lake appears on the outside to be of a high quality but cannot deliver on that promise. They have a very long way to go in both their kitchen food service and overall attitude before they match the majesty of the actual location. I left feeling let down and I shall not be returning anytime soon.

Brilliant beginners paddle boarding session for my wife’s birthday. Beth was our instructor and she was extremely helpful and supportive throughout. Her tips and techniques made us feel at ease on the lake. The session was for 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 12 starting with basic instruction and finishing with some fun games and a race. We all loved it and having never even stepped onto a board before we progressed within the hour and a half session to be all able to stand and navigate around the lake confidently. Looking forward to visiting Alderford Lake again as the cafe and facilities were excellent and this lake caters for pretty much everyone’s requirements. Lots of happy and friendly staff throughout which helped our first visit become an easy and thoroughly enjoyable experience

Amazing experience at this beautiful countryside spa. I took my mum for her birthday. We went for the luxury afternoon tea package where we got use of the facilities, a treatment and afternoon tea. Super peaceful, one of the best massages I’ve ever had, and delicious food!! Would highly recommend.

What a lovely place and atmosphere. Very impressed by the knowledge of the staff, all three of us had wonderful massages and facials. Enjoyed the hot tub too. We opted for a 90 minute use of facilities and the two course lunch. The variety of the menu was good and I particularly enjoyed the creamy mushroom starter on sourdough. Great afternoon, thank you !

I had the most exceptional visit and massage at Fishmore Hall today. My masseur went out of her way to understand my particular needs and it was clear from the start that I was in expert hands. I’d go as far to say that it was the best massage that I’ve ever had and my body is already reaping the benefits. All staff were very approachable and friendly and the environment is just gorgeous. The massage was a gift from friends but there is no doubt that I will be returning time and time again. My experience today far exceeded any expectation I had and it was the highlight of my week…so thank you. It really is greatly appreciated. Karen Messer,

Lovely afternoon with lunch and great treatment. Lunch was good but shame a couple of options weren't available. A salad option would have been nice as it was such a hot day, but the parfait and fish and chips were lovely. Back massage and foot and leg massage was very good. It's a nice environment but could definitely benefit from some interior upgrades in the hotel/dining areas. Great that you have offers back as booked lots in the past and will do in the future.

Second visit in ten years and even though the owners have changed was the same great experience. Had a room and dining package for my Wife's 50th weekend. Lovely message of congratulations and rose petals left on the bed was a lovely touch. From arrival to leaving, staff were attentive and pleasant. Room very nice and spacious with very comfy bed. We opted for a 3 course a la carte meal and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Additional entrees were provided and wine selection more than adequate. Breakfast was nice and due to chosen time slot, was served fairly quickly. Will go back again at some point. Thank you to the front of house staff!

Great stay. Peaceful and beautiful setting. Room was comfortable and clean with good views. Bathroom area was luxurious and comfortable bed. Enjoyed the spa experience. No problem walking to and from Ludlow town centre at night. Hope to stay again.

Just come back from a Spa and lunch at Fishmore. It was a gift for my wife's birthday. We had never done anything like this before and travelled in hope rather than expectation. We arrived at the appointed time but had to wait a short while while the staff emerged, I must say ringing the spa is a nightmare as the phone isn't manned all the time. As the only couple there at the time we had a run of the hot tub to ourselves. I've only been in one before and that had ballooned my trunks out and floated me around the tub. This one was a very much nicer experience. Coffee was provided and then Ruby collected me for my massage. Well, young as she is, I thought her gifted and with the hot tub experience it was hard to stay awake. Having been suitable attended to we went for lunch. Again, no problems and an excellent meal. I've no idea of the cost but I'd be very happy to go again. It would be wrong if I didn't also mention Ellie and Lucy. Both very helpful friendly and professional. Thank you.
Guy M — Google review
The spa was lovely and the massage relaxing. Not one to leave poor reviews however the dining experience was very poor. There was only us and two other tables with people. We ordered a starter, 15-20 minutes later the lady came out to tell us they didn't actually have that starter and would we like something else (not sure why this took so long to tell us) we opted for no starter as had been sat waiting for long enough as it was. After that I ordered fish curry with flat bread. The portions came very small , partner ordered fish and chips came with a handful of rocket with no other salad. The lady advised flat bread would be out in a minute. 10 minutes later when I had finished my meal she came to tell me they didn't have the ingredients to make the flat bread so there would be none sorry. As mentioned not one to complain but for the prices and also the standard which you expect a hotel to be at it was incredibly poor. Not the staff servings fault may I add and she was accommodating.

The Peach Tree is a well-respected restaurant located in the historic heart of Shrewsbury, offering inventive fusion menus in a contemporary-styled decor. The restaurant is known for its traditional and European food, with special offers that provide great value. It's an inviting venue where visitors can enjoy delightful afternoon tea featuring handcrafted sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and homemade cakes. The Peach Tree is committed to using locally sourced ingredients to ensure high-quality dishes.
What a lovely spur of the moment lunch. Sat outside enjoying the sun, ordered our drinks which arrived promptly by Owen. Seating was comfy and at no time did we feel we needed to rush our decision for ordering or move on quickly after finishing our drinks and food. Owen felt a few spots of rain on the wind and asked if we wanted the over head awning wound out further…yes and carried out swiftly. Our table of four adults included a vegan. The vegan starter of hummus and olives was bursting with flavour and soon devoured. The mains vegan menu options was a little limiting, however, Owen co-ordinated with the kitchen to provide a wonderfully looking dish of food full of flavour which included tofu and Ramen noodles. The Korean pork and club Dan which were equally enjoyed. We had table service, Owen, whom was helpful, suggestive, clearly customers are truly valued and service with a smile. Meals were super value for money. Without hesitation, we will be returning.

Having had many excellent meals before, in The Peach Tree, we went here for lunch today. Despite arriving at 12.15, 30 minutes after breakfast service should have ended, the breakfast menu was all that was available. The initial waitress was terrible (others were better), and I wished we had left then. My breakfast was very average. 3 mushrooms, baked beans heated up a while ago. I asked where the "artisan bread" came from, and I was told what I suspected. A supermarket white sliced loaf! My partner's poached eggs were overcooked. We could have gone to Wetherspoons, and got a better breakfast for a fraction of the cost.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a mid-week date night at the Peach Tree and the whole experience was fantastic. We booked beforehand and were greeted warmly with the pleasant and attentive service continuing throughout the time we spent there. We opted for a main and a dessert, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Following the meal, I think we've recommended the Peach Tree to anyone we've spoken to and we look forward to returning again soon. Thank you 😊

I have eaten at the Peach Tree numerous times before and have always had good experiences. However our recent tip couldn’t have been more different; the food was cold, the menu was significantly shorter than it was previously, and service was slow. A shame as we used to love coming here

We booked an afternoon tea yesterday for my friends 30th birthday. When we arrived we stood by the door and were completely ignored. We went to the bar and was told someone would be with us shortly . About 10 mins later we were asked what we wanted and I said we had booked the afternoon tea. We were told to grab a couple of menus and go and pick a seat. We were confused about why we needed a menu because there wasn't an afternoon tea option on it. We waited for about 20 minutes (the room was absolutely freezing with the air con on) and saw the male waiter go and serve the table in the corner. (There was only that table and our table in the restaurant). He went and collected their drinks and said he would be with us shortly . A female came over wearing a hoodie and leggings and asked us what we would like. I said we had booked to come for an afternoon tea and she said "oh I haven't come to take yours" and went to the table in the corner. They told her they had already ordered and she then walked away, straight past us again. I asked her what was going on , she said "I haven't got a clue but I'll ask him". The male waiter came back and served the other table again, on the way back i asked him if he was going to see to us and he said he would check . He came back through and said the order had gone through to the kitchen. We weren't asked if we had any allergies etc. He then walked off and came back a short time after asking what drinks we wanted. A short time after that our food came, which was ok in fairness. We weren't offered any plates so had to use the saucer from the drinks. Nobody checked on us throughout to see if everything was OK with the food or if we wanted anything else. I feel we would have better service at mcdonalds . The peach tree used to have a great reputation but I feel it's gone massively down hill. The staff looked as though they had just been dragged in off the street if I'm being honest.

The Mytton & Mermaid is a charming riverside hotel and wedding venue housed in a magnificent grade II listed building. The traditional pub restaurant serves fresh, high-end cuisine, and the warm rooms offer attention to detail. Guests have praised the excellent customer service, festive decorations, and beautiful surroundings. The hotel's staff are described as helpful and professional, ensuring a delightful stay for visitors.
We went for Sunday lunch with two adults and a child. The meal was one of the best I have had this year. Every component of the roast was excellent and the other adult said their vegan main (a veg Wellington) was also great. I loved the option for a small dessert with a hot drink - it was a small portion of a very rich and delicious sticky toffee pudding. Again my vegan partner found a lovely fruity tart that he could have. I especially appreciated having a jug of sparking water as an option. My child chose garlic bread followed by a tomato pasta. He enjoyed the taste but said the pasta was a funny texture. Looking at our bill it may have been gluten free - the only thing in our meal that wasn't a hit. The service was professional and unobtrusive throughout. Everything we asked for was provided efficiently and with a friendly smile - even when I should have requested it when I ordered! On another day we would have combined our meal with a visit to the wonderful Attingham Park just across the road. We loved our meal here and feel lucky to live locally so we can come back soon. Prices are probably on the high side of average but it felt worth it.

We did not stay, just went for dinner. It is lovely. It is furnished beautifully, the restaurant is large and caters to all size groups. The food is excellent, well cooked, presented very nicely, very tasty. The service is exceptional- the staff are helpful, friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Definitely an A++ from me. The only reason I have given 4 star and not 5 is that parking is very tight and the restaurant is very noisy when busy, to the point it makes conversation a tad difficult when sat in the middle of the restaurant. We both had a starter and a mains. Only soft drinks and it was £35 each, which for the quality of food and service I felt was reasonable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Sunday Lunch at The Mytton and Mermaid We had an absolutely lovely experience at The Mytton and Mermaid! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Emily looked after us beautifully. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, striking the perfect balance between professional and personal. We all went for the Sunday roasts, and every plate was spot on from the lamb to the pork, each one was cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. It’s rare to have a table where everyone is equally delighted with their choice, but this was one of those occasions! Dessert was the perfect ending the option of coffee paired with a small sticky toffee pudding was just right after a hearty meal that really completed a wonderful afternoon. A big thank you to Emily and the whole team for making our visit so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back soon!

What a beautiful experience we have had spending the past two weeks at this beautiful lodge! Couldn’t have had better service with smiling faces and a personal favorite is the manager Stuart. He greeted us with the best hospitality, super big smile, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. If we ever come back in the area, we will definitely stay here. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting from any part of the world. Pamela Holden Dallas Texas🩷

We had a fantastic experience at the Mytton & Mermaid. The setting itself is lovely, but what really made our visit special was the service from our host Maia. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely hardworking throughout our time there. Maia struck the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness, always checking in at the right moments and making sure everything ran smoothly. She also gave us some excellent recommendations from the menu, which really enhanced our meal - and she was absolutely right, the dishes she suggested were spot on. It’s rare to have someone who makes you feel so well looked after, and she definitely elevated the whole evening. Thank you Maia and the team for a wonderful visit - we’ll definitely be back!

Visit for our grandsons birthday. The place was extremely busy. A negative was when we ordered drinks, we ordered a bottle of zinfandel with two glasses, they had no glasses available. Our grandson ordered a Malbec. We had to chase this up. The positives are that the food was excellent. I had and others in our party had the Sunday beef roast, this was great. Jill had the beer battered fish with fries and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Clive Arms in Bromfield Ludlow is an 18th-century farmhouse hotel just outside the charming market town of Ludlow. The beautifully restored Georgian inn offers cozy and rustic rooms, a fine dining experience, and a rustic bar with a garden. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea featuring classic sandwiches, scones, and seasonal cakes reflecting the local culinary heritage.
Had a good stay here in a massive room. Easy to cast to the TV with other good amenities in the room. Staff were friendly. Breakfast is available for purchase in the Ludlow Kitchen next door. It's just off the main road, so very convenient if you're travelling through, but there was a little noise from the road

Great service and excellent food. The room was large, the bed huge, extremely clean and well presented. Only slight downside was the bathroom. Whilst very clean, the shower was just a handheld head on a pole and had a shower curtain, a personal pet hate unfortunately. Please don't be put off by this, however as we were in a dog friendly room, others in the hotel have better bathrooms and the overall stay was great. Fantastic location too with the farm shop, cafe gift shop and excellent distillery all within a couple of minutes walk.

We did not stay here as we are local. We came for dinner. The most imaginative selection of delicious, locally sourced gluten free options (which anybody could eat and never know!) . I had the venison with truffle gnocchi and the first gf sticky toffee pud I’ve had in Years! House red also perfect with the venison. A delightful dining experience with polite staff and a lovely ambience. We will be recommending The Clive to our visitors at Acton Scott Hall . Congratulations to the chef!

Just had a weekend at the Clive. I booked four rooms for friends to celebrate my wife’s 60th. Everyone loved their rooms - spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. We ate in the restaurant on Friday evening, and again, everyone was really impressed. All staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and help. Everyone in our party said they’d love to stay at the Clive again. Thanks to all at the hotel for helping make it a very special weekend.

We booked an evening meal and we cannot but praise the welcome and service. The homemade tomato soup and salmon moose were excellent, as was the trout. But the crab risotto was a disaster - too much chilli and little evidence of crab - and what was the mayonnaise on top. It seems that the chef had decided that a risotto is fundamentally bland and needs jazzing up. Big mistake! But don't let this one failure put you off!

Superb pub, visiting early in the week for a drink. Very pleasant welcoming staff. This is a beautiful clean and tidy establishment. Didn't eat, but hope to sometime when im passing through again.

Had a fabulous stay on the Sunday, dine and unwind offer. The staff were brilliant, friendly and really helpful. Loved Sunday dinner and a few drinks later in the patio area. Would loved to stay again soon.

Fresh fruit salad, with yoghurt and honey breakfast, sat in the sun, was perfection. Bedroom spacious, well equipped, with exquisite lotions and shampoos, with its own door to the car park so it's easy to come and go. Suppers in the Clive restaurant, shopping at the food centre. A stay made perfect by the brilliant service.

Weston Park is a grand 17th-century mansion surrounded by over a thousand acres of picturesque parkland and beautiful gardens. The mansion houses an impressive collection of artworks and a Victorian library with thousands of books. The estate features the popular Temple Wood with an adventure playground offering various activities for visitors. The parkland, landscaped by Capability Brown, includes a deer park, woodland, walled garden with a maze, orchard, and vegetable-growing area.
We had a super afternoon with the begin off road team. They kitted us out brilliantly and gave really clear instructions about the bikes. Everything was explained clearly and my niece (10 years old) felt comfortable and at ease. She felt able to ask questions and the speed and level of riding was set at a pace that she felt able to control. The whole session was a huge amount of fun with lots of riding time across the stunning estate. We had an fab time and will definitely try and return soon. Thank you all for making it such an easy and brilliant afternoon.

Sadly the water were dried back which was what I came to see. The park was a bit deserted with very few people going to the merry-go-round. Ample family having picnic on the ground, disappointing though without the water. Safety might be good since there were patrol vehicles going round, If you are tired of horse rides and wanted a change, there are donkey rides, that is besides the cart ride with horse though. Another sight which would have been beautiful with the water present is a lifted restaurant above the shore, unfortunately no water for the scenery, it was just hanging there isolate. Really do not know when the water will be coming in, wish to see the sight then

Bank holiday classic car event. Excellent day out in the grounds of this magnificent park . Lots of vehicles that I have not seen before. Entrance fee. Food & drink expensive ?.

An excellent place to visit for the large grounds and smaller (but not small) formal gardens as landscaped by the busiest garden designer ever, Capability Brown. We didn't go in the house, it was not open and it was a beautiful day so we walked in the grounds. This was the only bit that proved frustrating- the map and directions appear to have been written by someone who never left the office and doesn't know left from right amongst a few other things. Nice restaurant, also a café which had nice things but was understaffed with one person causing considerable wait time.

Stayed at Weston Park on one of their Stay and Dine overnight breaks . It was a fantastic experience to enjoy a luxurious nights stay at a stately home . Included in the stay was a five course tasting menu which was elegant and delicious . Breakfast was cooked to order offering a great choice . We will return

Took my 12 & 8 year old here for Begin Off Road, and they had a great time, even the rain didn't dampen their spirits. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. As the group progressed around the park they split into 2 groups based on confidence/ability which really helped my yougest as he wasn't as confident in the woods as his older sister. Thoroughly recommended

I attended Begin Off Road with 3 of my daughters, aged 7, 10 and 13. We were met with a warm welcome by Dean who immediately put us all at ease as he was so friendly and helpful. We got the kit on and collected our bikes and were given clear instructions on how to use them. My 10 year old was nervous as she struggles with people watching her and with following instructions and the instructors immediately picked up on this and were extra attentive and helpful. We were given lots of praise and encouragement and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experiment and would love to do it again. I would highly recommend Begin Off Road to anyone and hope to visit again in the future. Thanks again for a wonderful time!

Friendly, warm attentive service from very sweet staff. Best full English in Shropshire if not the world. Plus some excellent sculptures to whet you’re appetite. Plus, a supermarket with an art gallery upstairs. What’s not to like? Excellent stuff. Enjoy your 5-stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I called at the farm shop and restaurant on way home from north Wales. It was a great find. The shop was really well stocked with fresh produce. The cafe was great. I also found the Gin distillery interesting and will go back for a proper shop.

Really pretty farm shop and restaurant. Not very big which was a little disappointing but we got some treats and had some lunch in the restaurant. Ample parking, nice outdoor seating. Would come back for the restaurant. And would love to try the pub next door in the future.

What a fabulous find! This place has it all. It has a fantastic cheese counter (very knowledgeable staff), award winning butter, awesome meat counter, good selection of veg, locally made biscuits, jams, other condiments, sweets, bread etc. Also on site is a very well organised cafe, along with a gift shop and also a gin distillery! We went mid-week and parking was no problem, although I'm sure it gets very busy at weekends. We've just signed up to their loyalty program as we shall certainly be back.

Had a nice drive out to this farm shop near Ludlow. The prices are reflective of it being a farm shop so on the pricier side but what we expected. The choice of food and drink items were vast. We especially enjoyed their cheese and ice cream made from their own dairy. You can see them making the cheese through a glass window. We brought a small bag of the posh chocolates which were very tasty. Well worth a visit. Toilets were clean, shop was spotless and staff were lovely.
Claire — Google review
Well worth a visit 5 minutes out of Ludlow. Food in the restaurant was very well proportioned and reasonably priced. This was a ploughman's sandwich which was a full meal! There's a gift shop. Brewery/ distillery, and the food selection in the farm shop catered for everyone.

Been here a couple of times now, first time we were lady getting there and we only had scones(bit dry) and no plain scones as well!! Second time we just missed breakfast time( hate the three different meal times on the menu), the bacon pancakes were okay just no maple syrup between them so little dry, the bacon and sausage bap was nice. Each time been in it's not taken long to get the food after ordering, just remember to get your own cutlery at the desk.

The theater's contemporary structure contrasts with the town's traditional charm. Nearby, visitors can explore the historic market town of Shrewsbury and enjoy a diverse culinary scene with options ranging from gastro pubs to fine dining restaurants.
This is a great theatre to work in, with a huge amount of space back stage. It was perfect for our show. The staff are all very friendly and helped me several times when I got lost in the Labyrinthine backstage area. Audiences here were very sweet and several of the young people joined in at the end with some very enthusiastic and entertaining dancing. Thank you Shrewsbury! You were wonderful!

Absolutely furious. Went to see the band livewire... They were absolutely great. Loved them... But the venue seemed to exceed capacity. No room to move... Drunken idiots forcing their way past to the bars that were supposed to be closed. I ended up leaving because of people constantly pushing us around to get past. Absolute joke. I can honestly say I will NEVER return!

Great theatre. Large car park next to it. 3 levels of seating and excellent vies from each level. Good facilities for drinks and snacks. Nodern toilets and food for disabled. 2 lifts

Nice clean theatre (main and studio type spaces) and relatively modern. Decent seats and well organised. Same as all theatres in that there are big queues for toilet (ladies) and bar/snacks. Didn't help having 2 shows one night with same start and interval times.

Wednesday 16th October. John Barrowman was on the stage tonight and after all his trial by media was outstanding. His loyal fans were in for a treat at this wonderful theatre. Singing dancing and comedy his talents are endless. I for one cannot wait to see him again Friday 21st April My first visit to this theatre and must say I am very impressed by it . A lovely auditorium set on three floors with comfy seating and plenty of leg room. A well equipped bar if you fancy a tipple and a great view from the balcony. The staff were pleasant which always helps . Tpau were performing and were amazing, Carol Decker was brilliant chatting with the sell out crowd and singing from the heart . Carvells The Art of Tea is a charming British tea house known for its quintessentially British afternoon tea experience. This family-owned establishment serves loose tea in traditional china cups, accompanied by delightful cakes and sandwiches. The tearoom itself has a dollhouse-like appearance and is housed in an impressive medieval building that has been well-preserved. Visitors can enjoy the ambiance of the old structure while indulging in delicious pastries and hot beverages.
This is an amazing traditional little tea house! The service was great! the atmosphere here was delightful! There is an upstairs with more seating, just be careful of the uneven steps in this old tudor style house.
Bonnie H — Google review
There's a certain inattentiveness in service - not a rudeness; staff are polite - and I found it bizarre that I had to wait so long, and then half the order never turned up. It's not due to a staff shortage, for sure. And the place is slightly dirty (if you're going to use paper tablecloths, replace them throughout the day). "Clean" crockery on the table covered in flies. Had my food turned up, I could see from other plates that it would have been small for the price.
Simon D — Google review
Love this place, especially sitting in the cute alley outside. Great coffee, great cakes, the servers are very friendly and each time we've been served it's been very quick. Fully recommend to anyone looking for a coffee in the area
Joe P — Google review
Was charged 10 pounds for 2 average pasties, heated in the microwave. Was told we could sit outside but then harassed by local busybodies who complained that we were eating food purchased from the shop next door. Several tables were free and no one was waiting for a table. I would avoid this cafe. 😢😢😢
Louise M — Google review
Such a lovely little tearoom!! So quirky! Loved the teapots and cups and saucers! The loose tea was so flavoursome! We had a Ludlow pasty with side salad as well, which was beautiful! Would definitely recommend 👌

Quaint tearoom -the decor is cosy with vintage pieces dotted around. Lots of seating area upstairs as well as outside Splendid food ; the service is excellent too.
Mes M — Google review
A lovely tea room. It kind of looks like a dollhouse inside. The pastry was delicious and well as the hot chocolate. The building itself is impressive, a medieval house that's been kept well. It's been a pleasure to walk in it, feeling its oldness and how wanky it was. In my opinion, it is a place worth stopping at if visiting Ludlow.
Minii M — Google review
A lovely little tea room that focuses on tea, cakes and coffee, with some savoury dishes and sandwiches. Note: if you're looking for a full English breakfast, you won't get one here - that's not the shop's purpose. The environment is cute and olde worlde with music taken mostly from the '40s and '50s. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. One criticism is that the shop is often closed when one would expect it to be open, so best to visit on a market day and/or check before going.

Violet's Tea Room is a vintage establishment that offers an authentic 1940s experience with its old-fashioned service. This family-run tea house serves a traditional three-tier afternoon tea on delicate bone china, which has received rave reviews on Google. Customers have praised the quality of food and service provided by the staff. The selection of sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and variety of cakes along with a delightful vanilla mousse are particularly noteworthy.
What a gem! This is a proper tea room with a 1940s feel. There is a variety of beautifully decorated areas where you can enjoy your pot of tea, coffee or choose from an excellent choice of food including breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. The main room delivers superb views over the Bridgnorth rooftops across the river valley and beyond and there is even a lovely outside area. Prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent, all provided by a wonderful team of smiling, friendly and helpful staff. A 'must visit'!🙂

Had the train take us up to Violets Tea Room and just on the left as you come out of the train. The cafe is set up as the 1940s with an amazing vintage feel with the tea cups and sauces giving that old time experience. The cakes are freshly made and delicious with good portion in the sandwich option. The inside is set up as a living room and the views are stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend a visit and enjoy the ambiance.

I had Afternoon Tea here as a birthday present from my goddaughter. She is coeliac. All the food was absolutely delicious, both gluten-free and ordinary. I had a blueberry and white chocolate scone. There was blueberry conserve served with it. I really enjoyed having a scone that was a bit different. The cafe was pretty and characterful. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Very good value. Pleasant service. I had a pot of tea for one and had three China cups full from it. Very nice crumpets. My wife had a cappuccino and a gluten free scone. Sat outside in a small seating area with views across the valley. Would highly recommend.

We visited here for the mother-in-laws 75th birthday tea. Unbelievable quality with the food, drinks and service as well as reasonably priced set menu's. The young man who kept us well stocked for drinks was brilliant and the owners daughter is just a legend. Btw, they do amazing bacon sandwiches too. Many thanks

Holidaying in Shropshire, visiting the town where we were married: Bridgnorth. We popped into Violet's Tearoom and were delighted to discover that our dogs were welcomed and provided with fresh water and some tasty doggie snacks. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food prices were very good, for example, my Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and absolutely perfect hollandaise was by far and beyond the best I've ever had, and was £6.50. Eggs cooked to perfection. I finished with a courgette and avocado cake (very similar to a carrot cake), which I've never had before, was delicious. For the four of us at lunchtime: two (somewhat) oldies and two nearly-20s kids, the entire meal came to just over £44 and we were all well-sated. Lunch dishes: my eggs benedict, 2× bruncheslus 2x dessert. Lunches included , tea, cappuccino and 2x milkshakes. The decor was eclectic, with the VE-80 bunting still proudly on display and a good collection of porcelain teapots on shelves. Lovely lunchtime atmosphere. Highly recommended.

A day trip to bridgnorth brought us to violet's tea room. Lovely tea room with a cozy atmosphere. The views from the large window overlooking the hills and the River were beautiful. We came in and was seated quickly. The service was second to none and food was fantastic finished off with a beautiful scone freshly made. From start to finish i enjoyed my time at the tea room and topped off a brilliant day in bridgnorth.

Second Time visiting. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Wonderful cakes. Fantastic Tea no matter how you like it! They offer a wide range of other food and drinks too if tea and cake isn’t your...cup of tea. The decor is lovely, with 40’s style tea cups and real wood furnishings everywhere. Fantastic views over Bridgnorth at the one end of the room with a warm cosy atmosphere in the rest. Would highly recommend!

Castle Tearooms, nestled near Ludlow Castle, offers a charming setting for indulging in traditional English afternoon tea. For a reasonable price, guests can savor an array of classic tea items such as sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and seasonal homemade cakes. The tearoom's standout feature is its breathtaking view of Ludlow Castle, adding historical charm to the dining experience. Additionally, the tearoom provides gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions.
Just visited this cafe in Bridgnorth for breakfast, they had a fair amount of gluten free options like scones, cakes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. The older lady came over to me immediately when she saw me hovering by the till 🤣 explained what I could eat and seated us. I had a bacon and cheese sandwich and it was lovely! The bread did crumble so a knife and fork was needed but the bread was really nice and didn’t taste dry like a lot of bread does! I would 100% recommend a visit 🥰

Disappointing Experience at Castle Tea Rooms, Bridgnorth We visited after midday, although the café was busy, we managed to find a seat. Our order was simple: a large pot of tea for two and two jacket potatoes with tuna. The tea arrived promptly, but the food took over 40 minutes to appear. Despite several apologies from staff, there was no explanation for the delay, and our tea had gone cold long before the food arrived. When the jacket potatoes finally came, they were lukewarm and clearly microwaved—not oven-roasted as one might expect. No salt, pepper, or condiments were provided, and we had to request multiple sachets of mayonnaise just to make the tuna topping palatable. Let’s just say The Spud Bros and Spudman can sleep easy tonight, no competition for £23.40! To add to the disappointment, my sister needed the toilet but found the only ladies’ loo occupied. A staff member suggested she use the men’s instead, which felt inappropriate and poorly managed. We had high hopes based on recommendations, but sadly, the experience didn’t live up to them. Two stars for the effort, but we won’t be rushing back.

The market's main opening days are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Visitors can explore an array of items from flowers to organic wines and second-hand books to hand-embroidered cards.
Shrewsbury Market Hall is an absolute gem and hands down my favorite place in Shrewsbury. From the moment I stepped inside, I understood why it’s an award-winning market — it truly has a charm that made me fall in love with the town itself. The variety here is fantastic. Whether you’re after delicious local food, unique souvenirs, beautiful books, stylish clothes, handcrafted paintings, or artisanal home decor, there’s something to catch your eye at every turn. It’s a treasure trove for anyone who enjoys discovering one-of-a-kind finds and supporting small businesses. The market is clean, well-organized, and bathed in beautiful natural light, which makes wandering through it all the more enjoyable. Every corner feels vibrant and full of life, with friendly vendors and a welcoming atmosphere that invites you to linger. If you’re visiting Shrewsbury, make sure this is at the top of your list. It’s more than just a market — it’s the heart of the town. Definitely worth checking out!

Cute!!! The stalls, people, vibe - perfect. Go if you're in the area! Special mention to the lady who runs the cookware stall - bought some cute bits and asked her about food. Straight away she emphatically told me to try the Thai place. I went straight there and it was amazing and so cheap!!! The bookstore on the top floor is quaint and a really lovely woman runs it. She showed me an amazing 2nd edition copy of Lord of the rings. Overall, charming, friendly, good food, great stalls. 👍

So many things to see inside and many food options! Defo recommend taking some time to stroll around and go to the top as well to read about the history of the building (I personally think the 60s architecture was horrific, but inside it’s very nice)

So many small businesses in a great place. Lovely to see such a unique collective of services, produce and dining. Particularly loved the wine bar.

After reading rave reviews we decided to take a trip to Shrewsbury Market Hall. Honestly, I was severely underwhelmed. I expected more stalls and a wider range of products, if I am honest. This market is comparable to most local markets, selling fruit and veg, meat, bakery items etc on its lower ground. Upstairs you find more of the stalls I was hoping to find, but in such small numbers that it really wasn’t worth the trip. We bought a few Pokemon cards from a friendly card vendor, and then left. If you’re in the area, do pop by….but don’t drive an hour and a half out of your way for this market like I did.

Visitors rave about the warm ambiance and friendly service, often highlighting their scrumptious bacon and egg sandwiches alongside delectable cinnamon buns.
What a little gem of a place. We went in at 3.30pm and we were not expecting to eat there, as they close at 4pm however, the lovely lady said it was no problem.. so we had the most gorgeous bacon and egg sandwich amd my daughter had this incredible cinnamon bun, washed down with a larhe pot of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I did buy dome goodies to take home too and as she was closing, she very kindly did some deals for us, which we were extremely grateful for. The atmosphere is cozy and I highly recommend that you pop by. We are only around 30mins away but I saw a post on fb, so we decided to head out especially. The food was absolutely delicious! There are some beautiful vintage tea sets or even individual pieces within the decor that are lovely to look at during your meal. There is always a friendly, welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door here which is very relaxing. The food is wonderful, and ALL homemade - their pies are the best I've ever had, with the most delicious pastry casing that is packed full of whatever filling you've chosen. Most of the pies also have a pastry lid but you will find some open pies, depending on what flavours are available the day you go in. They always have a good selection of pies to choose from, including at least one vegetarian option. There's also a choice in how you'd like your pies served - by themselves, with mash, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy or (my favourite) with buttered new potatoes and coleslaw. I've noticed that the coleslaw ingredients vary slightly each time I've been too, which is a great idea. No matter how full you are, it's extremely easy to be tempted by a dessert and/or cake here, as they always look so scrumptious! It's so difficult to pick one, so I decided to have some lemon cheesecake and take home a raspberry and white chocolate scone. I did mean to take a photograph of my pie (beetroot, goat's cheese, pine nuts & pesto, if I recall correctly), but it looked so good when it came that I couldn't help but tuck in immediately. I have however taken a photo of my finished plate, to show the intention was there, and how delicious it must have been for me to have an empty plate. 😃 I did however manage to photograph our desserts. As previously mentioned I had the lemon cheesecake. My partner chose a version of a bakewell tart that had ginger & rhubarb frangipane (if I recall correctly, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We both left feeling extremely full and happy and agreed we'd be visiting Elsie's again soon. We did visit again, around a month after my original review (above) was posted. This time we decided to phone ahead of time to reserve a table, and it was a good job we did! We had the usual warm welcome, and again the quality of the food was fantastic. By the time we got there (2pm) a lot of the pies had already sold, so we were left with two to choose from. Other items are available though if you don't want a pie, such as paninis. One last thing, do make sure you have some change with you when you go. This is one of those places where you will absolutely want to leave a tip!

Simply gorgeous little tea rooms. We had a lovely, warm welcome on arrival and the food was absolutely delicious. Thick cut sandwiches on proper bread, strong selection of cakes and can thoroughly recommend the pie! Highly recommend and would definitely visit again if in the area.

Super lovely afternoon tea, with the perfect savoury/sweet balance. Best sausage rolls I've had, really good amount of sandwiches and selection of delicious cake. I like my cake and can honesty not fault these! Would highly recommend. Other food being served also looked amazing (cake slices are HUGE) so I'll be heading back! Staff were super friendly, the tea room itself is cosy, beautifully decorated and really lovely atmosphere. 10/10!

Expensive and average in flavour. Cakes were a decent size but all lacked any standout flavour. Bakewell should have come with a scoop of ice cream but because it was takeaway no ice cream was given. But of course the price stayed the same. At more than £17 for 4 cakes I would expect my brain to melt with the flavour. Sadly, they just tasted a bit sweet and not much else. Very disappointing and not worth the effort to stop the car.

Charming traditional tea shop/cafe serving great coffee and a good range of homemade cakes and light meals. We had the soup and chicken & leek pie, both cooked to order. All served with proper crockery and cutlery. Great lunch stop near Shrewsbury on the way back from mid-Wales.

They also offer a variety of donuts from Planet Doughnut, locally sourced coffee from Iron and Fire, and delicious ice cream from Shropshire Ice Cream for sit-in or takeaway. The shop has a fabulous pink interior and is known for its welcoming atmosphere. Customers have praised the tasty and fresh doughnuts as well as the friendly staff.
My daughter and I stumbled upon this little gem, hadn’t read any TikTok etc! Wow 😮 Fabulous pink interior, very clean. Tara was incredibly welcoming and friendly upon our arrival🩷 We sat inside and had a lovely chat about the brand etc, we enjoyed a beautifully made Cookie 🍪 and drinks…DELICIOUS 😋 The coffee is very nice as I am fussy. My daughter enjoyed a delightful dragonfruit drink. We will definitely visit again. A great change to the usual donut 🍩 the Cookies look and taste amazing. Not wheelchair friendly as it resides on a slope, I would just be mindful. There is another situated in Telford Shopping Centre, wheelchair accessible (Southwater). Parking situated around Shrewsbury.

Used to visit this location when it was Planet Doughnut but recently they have renamed to Dipp'd Cookies but still sell Planet Doughnut branded Doughnuts... They have a £6 Cookie & Hot drink deal on at the moment which isn't too bad if you are a fan of Cookies I would definitely recommend a visit to this location:) Friendly Staff 10/10 Clean Location 100% Worth a visit!

We decided to visit Dipp’d due to all of the fantastic tik toks & reviews shared on social media - it didn’t disappoint! From this weeks cookies, we chose: 🍪Pistachio chocolate 🍪Golden Oreo 🍩Mango doughnut All were fantastic (🔌full review over on tik tok @bellaprsn) and service was brilliant, all staff were so friendly. Recommend!

Tried only marshmallow milkshake. Tasteless but looked pretty. I added some sweetener once back home and it improved the taste. Because it wasn't sweet, mostly milk I suppose? Only basic vanilla shakes, with toppings extra 45 p. But that isn't clear on their menu. I still got charged 5.50 and no bill, so don't know why and I didn't ask. Will go to nearby Brooklyn craft or Market Cafe nearby, both places do milkshakes which are bigger for the price, cost less and taste way better

My favourite doughnut place in the county! The ones in the photo are the Jammy d, salted caramel brownie and just a wispa. This was the £9 pound trio box and well worth it. Cracking doughnuts, brilliant service and nice atmosphere! Would be silly to sleep on these.
Gavin — Google review
Very tasty and fresh doughnuts! The coffee is also very nice. Staff friendly. Really liked how the shop is set up and all the marketing produce. The doughnuts, as I said, are very tasty, but the flavour combinations and range could do with some more imagination and variety in flavour combinations. Sorry, I cannot respond, just edit my original review. 60 flavours sounds amazing, so I should definitely come again and try some more! I would recommend some salt and the use of crunchy peanut butter for the peanut butter and jelly one as the icing was a bit sweet and not very strong peanut flavour. I suppose the possibilities are endless, so perhaps you could a trial doughnut and ask for feedback on it and then decide whether to introduce it permanently or not? Score cards could also help you refine or find other flavour combinations. Some flavour combination suggestions: maple syrup/pecan nuts, coconut/lime, black cherries/chocolate, orange curd/chocolate, anise, salted dark chocolate, spicy dark chocolate, brown butter vanilla icing. Keep up the good work and good luck!

What a treat! Giant, spongey, really pretty donuts. Not usually big on donuts, they have to really deliver on flavour to entice me and I couldn't resist trying the Lemon Meringue and the Mango Cheesecake ones. So delicious and flavourful, absolutely worth the money if you fancy something sweet and tasty. Inside seating is quite nice and cosy as well, the staff were friendly.

The Orchard Cafe is a lovely new cafe and function room located in the beautiful surroundings of Shrewsbury Cathedral, overlooking Town Walls. The cafe specialises in delicious freshly cooked food made by a fantastic chef - it's definitely worth visiting during a lunchtime!
My regular cafe after our bike rides. We always head back to The Orchard as the staff are so friendly, coffee is great and food is awesome 👏 Always seating for us and place to leave our bikes. The loyalty scheme means I get a feee coffee every now and then too which is great. Keep up the good work Sandra and team Orchard! 👍

Quite disappointed with the customer service. I bought my own lunch and just needed a small place to sit down and eat for 5,10 mins. The cafe was more or less empty and there was plenty of seating available. I had some people with the church and was told I could sit and eat in the cafe as the cafe is associated with the church too. The lady at the counter starting giving sarcastic remarks. "It's not a pub. You can't just bring your own beer and start drinking it". Like, this is not Weatherspoons or Toby Carvery. I ended up purchasing a Chai latte, but it was too sweet. Although it was fresh and all; you couldn't really drink it as it was too sweet. It costs £3.50.

A very peaceful atmosphere with great views looking back on the cathedral and town walls. On nice days you can sit outside and enjoy the calming peaceful atmosphere of the area. They have a very good selection of snacks and hot drinks. Also included is a great value gift shop for Roman Catholics where you can pick up various items at good prices. I would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

He asked in the kitchen they replied the kitchen is shut at 2. So disappointing when it says it’s open until 3 o’clock. It needs the website updating.

Kerry Vale Vineyard is a charming family-run English vineyard located on the border of Wales and England in rural Shropshire. Nestled in the picturesque Vale of Kerry, this six-acre vineyard was established in 2010 on the historic grounds of the Roman Fort of Pentrheyling. Visitors can join guided tours three times a week to explore the vineyard and indulge in wine tastings.
My wife and I made a pre planned stop here for some lunch and a break in our journey from South Wales to North Wales. Well worth it, not a big cafe and wasn't overly busy when we stopped fortunately. Very clean and maintained cafe, excellent service from the staff who were very polite and helpful. I ordered a ham & tomato sandwich, which came accompanied with a small salad and some crisps. My wife ordered a cheese quiche, accompanied with a salad (see pictures). My wife ordered a regular hot chocolate, had 2 in fact and I ordered a glass of their local red wine, which was very nice not a full body wine. Actually bought a bottle to take away with us for £20. They also do a nice looking afternoon tea, which has to be ordered 48 hrs in advance. Would certainly recommend the food, service and staff here

My wife and I did the Vineyard tour with wine tasting followed by Afternoon Tea. The tour was very interesting and informative and wines we tasted were delicious. The afternoon tea was also plentiful with many nice cakes and a choice of sparkling wine. The location on the Shropshire/Welsh border is beautiful and we were lucky with the weather as it rained while we were inside the visitor centre but was sunny when we went outside to see the vines.

We also had the tasting flight of 3 wines which was a fabulous addition to lunch on a day off. I only live a 10 minute drive away and have been tell all my friends about it. Looking to book a private tour next year as full now with the season almost over. Definitely recommend the cafe, local or visitor, its a lovely experience

Absolutely brilliant experience. We planned a trip to Wales only a few days in advance and the vineyard was recommended to us. I called to book in afternoon tea and was delighted to find out they cater to gluten free! Everyone was so lovely on arrival and one of the chefs came out to explain all of the options on the afternoon tea. The gluten free bits were amazing!! Highly recommend! The grounds themselves are lovely, and we do hope to come back for a tour some time. We picked up a bottle of sparkling red on our way out - delicious!

We didn't stay at the hotel but went for a birthday meal. We were welcomed into the bar area by the owner who was very attentive. The bar was warm and cozy. We were given bar snacks. After placing our order and enjoying a drink we moved to the homely dining room- a fire burning in the grate; the family silver and china displayed in the cupboards and tables adorned with white linen - we felt like part of the family who own this stately home. The waitress was lovely although she seemed extremely nervous but had no need to be as she did a super job. We then enjoyed 4 courses of delicious food served with just the right intervals to ensure that you didn't feel rushed and that you had time to savour every delicious morsel. A lot of the dishes included vegetables, fruits and flowers from the garden harvest or local artisan producers. Absolutely delicious - can't recommend it enough. Hope to go back in the spring so that we get the opportunity to see the award winning gardens as well.

We had our wedding reception here in July. We chose Goldstone as all the staff were very relaxed and accommodating - it didn't feel like a wedding factory. They catered to all our needs and nothing was too much to ask. They were responsive to our many many emails in the lead up to the day. On the day everything ran smoothly and we were subtly guided by the staff. All our guests had a wonderful time, they really enjoyed exploring the gardens and were very complimentary about the food (those with dietary requirements felt very catered for). The rooms were large and comfortable and guests all said they had a great night sleep. We would 100% recommend here for a wedding or special event.

Kin Kitchen is a modern and bike-friendly cafe located in the heart of Ludlow, near the 11th-century castle. The emphasis here is on freshly cooked dishes and seasonal specials, along with unique homemade cakes and great coffee. The interior is clean, bright, and fresh. While it can get busy, making a reservation is worth it to avoid disappointment. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty according to visitors who had different items from the menu.
I had an absolutely fantastic lunch here with my partner. She had the veggie burger - a generous size with a lovely springy burger, fresh taste and generous on Halloumi with a lovely dressed salad and creamy coleslaw. Fresh and very tasty. I had the coconut and ginger daal which was beautifully spiced and warming, with coconut flakes, a fluffy naan and perfectly cooked cauliflower which added a buttery creaminess to it. The crispy kale on top could have been a bit crispier but was delicious. A drizzle of chutney or citrus for some acidity and tartness would have made this flawless. The drinks were lovely - a tart apple and damson juice that like everything here, is sourced locally. The quality of all ingredients was impeccable. Service was also excellent and the restaurant was roomy, light and rustic. The selection of deserts was fantastic and I wish we had been able to stay longer for one. We will both be back again!

Popped into KIN Kitchen for a light lunch, greeted by friendly staff, we couldn’t help but admire the lovingly restored venue, wood frame construction, the beautiful ceiling and past the open kitchen to the delightful garden and growing space. Stylishly designed restaurant and beautiful walled garden at the back. The menu has lots to choose from! I ordered an iced latte and then later a dish of hummus with flat bread (side). If you are a regular at your standard cut out and paste services, this place will baffle you. I don't think I'll find another tea rooms quite like this one, and that's a good thing because it's always nice to have a unique experience! From the mannequin with the ammunition strap to the garden area where we could let the dog roam it was a unique place to enjoy some tea, and the portions of tea and coffee we're immense! The owner was lovely, thank you for the cake!

We decided to cycle from Ludlow to the Welsh border in the pouring rain. Thank Heavens for the Heath Tea Room! Delicious cake, lovely coffee in an eclectic warm atmosphere. The owner is lovely and it’s the best value you can find anywhere. It’s worth going out of your way just go try it ... so should have a Michelin Star 😊

This tea room was very accommodating to two bikers who just stopped for a cuppa. Tea ( in proper china cups) and scones by the duck pond made a very welcome change from the usual tea stops. Staff are really friendly and we will definitely stop here again next time we are near.

The charming and friendly lady owner provided a sumptuous spread of cakes, tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches for our large group of cyclists, which we enjoyed outside in the recently landscaped garden. We had advised her in advance of our likely arrival time.

Nestled within the stunning Black Gate, a Grade II listed building steeped in history, Niche Patisserie, Bakery and Restaurant is a true gem in Oswestry. Created by Adam Cleal, a former semi-finalist on Bake Off The Professionals, this charming patisserie offers an array of delectable pastries that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. Visitors are welcomed by an enticing display of perfectly crafted croissants and other treats that promise to delight the senses.
What an unexpected joy! We had just arrived by bus from Shrewsbury and were gasping for a cuppa- but this was so much more! The croissants looked amazing but in the end we chose a lemon polenta cake - gorgeous. And a passion fruit macaron with chocolate filling- an unusual but winning combination. I also bought a rosemary and sea salt focaccia for later. Yum!

Adam, Sam & the Niche team did a fantastic job - not sure many weddings have an "In Wedding Bakery' The cruffins and cookies definitely the best in the UK if not the universe.
Andy J — Google review
A truly wanky bakery: beautiful. The sourdough loaf was artisanal and wholesome, the patisseries were truly naughty and delicious, and what a creative selection too! The coffee wasn’t too bad and to be fair, the focus is on great baked goods, not coffee, so perhaps it would be unfair to mark the place down based on that. All in all, a lovely little spot, in a traditional heritage building. Recommended
Jon F — Google review
We are so privileged to have a real classy bakery here in Oswestry and Adam, a semi-finalist in the 2019 series of Channel 4’s ‘Bake Off is a true professional. The Black Gate previously a pub is a beautiful Grade II 400 year old listed historical building and can be dated back even more to before 1620's or so.... Full of beams and wonky floors and walls, it is simply stunning. Warmly decorated, relaxing and inviting atmosphere with classic music in the background makes your visit here very enjoyable and special. Niche Patisserie started up here in 2020 and so good to see that it's thriving... My stunning freshly baked "cinnamon swirl" was out of this world, deliciously perfect along with my tasty Latte coffee. A family business which should be very proud of what they have achieved here at Niche Patisserie, The Black Gate in Oswestry. A warm welcome and very friendly, smiling service by Samantha at the counter makes one feel totally relaxed and right at home. Highly recommend this bakery, restaurant and one of the best selection of patisseries ever...all freshly baked on a daily basis.. A big thank you to mom Samantha and son, Adam the master Baker, well done! Will most certainly be popping in more often now...

Wow!! What an absolute delight! Our Afternoon tea was just incredible. The flavours were so well put together. The setting is beautiful and the service impeccable. We had a chat to the owners and the pastry chef who are so welcoming, friendly and so enthusiastic in the whole process of their business, from sourcing their ingredients to their final product. Highly recommended making a visit here. An absolute delight. Thankyou. You deserve every success. X

Overall great experience, massive selection of pastries, which themselves were absolutely stunning and definitely one of the best I have ever tasted. Matched with a nice cup of coffee, our taste buds were in heaven. The only thing that took away from the experience slightly was the staff (two younger ladies), who, although professional in their demeanor, lacked the warmth and friendliness I enjoy when visiting a bakery/coffee shop. However this could be put down to inexperience and doesn't take away from how great the food and coffee were, hence my 5 star rating.
Martina S — Google review
I used to be a pastry chef, and a lot of places charge these prices for croissants etc when they're really just ok. These croissants from Niche were some of the best I've had. The lamination was perfect, and they had the right amount of filling in them. Can't fault them at all. Also took away some of their baguettes and granola and they were also wonderful. Everything made to a really high standard and you won't be disappointed if you grab some snacks from here.

The Tearoom at No 11 offers a delightful afternoon tea experience with a variety of fresh and delicious sandwiches, huge scones, and a selection of cakes. The addition of savory pastries like leek quiche and mushroom pastry adds a unique touch to the menu. The friendly and helpful staff contribute to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like visiting a friend's place.
Where better place can you go on a very wet Thursday afternoon!! The Tearoom at No.11 in Audlem. Always greeted with a friendly face and superb service. I choose the beautiful carrot cake and a flat white coffee. A bonus as it’s dog friendly too. Lovely lunchtime menu too. I was lucky to find a seat today, it’s so popular!

Popped in for lunch and everything was just right. The welcome was friendly, the food excellent as was the service. It’s a lovely clean environment with outside space as well. The cakes? We had ours as a takeaway, no room after lunch but just eaten our cake and wow… absolutely lovely. 10/10 Thankyou.

Today we ate off the specials board and had the breakfast oatcakes - these were absolutely divine! I was so keen to tuck in I forgot to take a photo! The staff were friendly and helpful as always! This place is a firm favourite for a relaxed visit and with a food range of delicious home made cakes to choose from after! My husband had the bakewell sponge which had the best bakewell taste I have experienced! This place is well worth a visit!

We had a gorgeous afternoon tea at Number 11- the food was really fresh and delicious! There were a lovely variety of sandwiches, the scones were huge and we got to choose which cakes we wanted. In addition, they did some savoury pastries (we had leek quiche and a mushroom pastry). Both of these were gorgeous and a bit different. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) we were stuffed towards the end so have a doggy bag of cake for later! The staff were also really friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back!

Nestled in the heart of the charming village of Audlem, The Tearoom at No. 11 is an absolute delight. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that feels like a step back in time. The decor is wonderfully traditional, creating the perfect setting to relax and unwind. The service is warm and attentive, with the staff making you feel right at home. But of course, the real stars are the food and drink. The loose-leaf tea selection is fantastic, and the cakes and scones are simply superb—freshly baked and a real treat. I highly recommend indulging in one of their cream teas; it's the perfect way to spend an afternoon. The Tearoom at No. 11 is more than just a place for tea and cake; it's a quintessential British tearoom experience. It’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, and I can't wait to visit again.

The Old Market Hall in Shrewsbury is a historic 16th-century market hall that has been repurposed into an independent cinema. The building, constructed in only four months, reflects the town's prosperity at the time and its significance as a regional trading center. Visitors can enjoy the latest film releases in this unique setting and also explore the vaulted cafe-bar.
A very special venue and one which should be a model for other locations. Pleasingly comfortable with a super café and good seating, we enjoyed our first visit to see the McCartney film ‘One Hand Clapping’ which brought back so many memories
Bryan P — Google review
I used to love going to this cinema. Went with a friend today to see Mr Burton. The cinema has had a refit since my last visit. In my opinion it's not an improvement. They have installed new seating with attached drinks holders. But the seats seem to be much closer together now and if you're not careful you could be putting your elbow in the drink of the person next to you. I felt it was akin to sitting in an aeroplane seat. The cafe is still very nice and the film was superb but, for me, the new seating is a miss!!
Linda P — Google review
A small, airy and comfortable cinema with around 80 seats. It is always a delight to come here and watch films in this historic building. It is advisable to book seats well in advance for popular showings. There are a good range of films including films of stage plays, opera and ballet. There is a lift to the cinema level where there is also a small cafe. Drinks can be taken into the cinema. There are 3 toilets, including an accessible one. There are riser seats for children available, usually found at the back of the cinema. The price of tickets is very reasonable with reductions for certain client groups eg. if you need an essential carer with you the carer goes free. There are steps down to the back 4 rows of seats but a ramp leads down to the front section of the cinema. There are adverts and trailers at the beginning of films but these are not as loud or extensive as in mainstream cinemas.

This cafe and cinema is just lovely! We popped in well after 6 to get a drink and possibly cake, while waiting for a friend. It's refreshing to find a coffee shop open that late nowadays! They had a good selection of hot drinks, cold and alcohol on offer and even a choice of cakes. The staff were really friendly and it's a cosy place to sit with a coffee and watch folks arriving to watch a movie or having a drink, escaping from the cold Autumn nights. Highly recommended.

The luxurious interior features gilded ceilings, sweeping staircases, and opulent suites with roll-top tubs. With its own chapel and breathtaking vistas for photos, it's a perfect wedding venue.
We stayed overnight in the Beatrix room and it was wonderful. Luxurious and so comfortable whilst not being over curated. The bed was fabulous. Service throughout was friendly helpful and added to the quality of our stay. Food was good and our breakfast was especially tasty. The overall experience, ambience and environment was one of indulgance and so relaxing, we felt like we had been away for much longer.

What an absolutely stunning place. For such a huge old building the 1st thing that struck me was the cleanliness, its immaculate. Sunday lunch was beautiful, with friendly service and our room was outstanding. With the winter offer it was real value for money. Our bed was so comfy.

This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. It’s not the easiest of places to find. Our Sat bag took us to the deliveries entrance which was not a problem we just missed the impact of our first view as you round the corner. The staff were exemplary and made our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our dinner in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. I do hope we return very soon.

Stunning location and a wonderful hotel with authentic charm. The grounds are breathtaking. Outstanding staff all round - this really made our stay perfect. Such a kind lady in the food and beverage department made us very early coffees before they were open so we could explore the grounds and listen to the birdsong. William on front desk went above and beyond to assist us. Also a super chap in the dining area who shared his tips for walks in the area. So many staff (who sadly I can't name) were genuinely warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

Beautiful wedding venue! As a book worm I enjoyed the bookshelves, the quotes from classics and also the rooms themed with famous authors (although I don’t quite think JK Rowling should have made the cut). We stayed in the Keats suite and it was luxurious with a stand alone bath. The staff were very helpful with any questions. Enjoyed our stay!

Nestled in the picturesque Shropshire countryside along the Welsh border, Hadley Park is a charming campsite that offers a serene getaway for families and nature lovers alike. This family-run site features an inviting café serving delicious refreshments, perfect for refueling after a day of exploring. Guests can enjoy fishing at the well-stocked pond or take leisurely strolls along the scenic towpath of the nearby Shropshire Union Canal, which leads to Whitchurch.
I camped one night at Hadley Park and was absolutely thrilled with what I found. I just wanted a night away with the dog and this place was within an hour of my house, and the price was right so I booked. I got a confirmation email from the staff who double checked if I had any additional requirements; and said they were looking forward to having me. The staff were really friendly on arrival and made sure I knew where I was going. I had no idea they had a secure dog exercise field, which is free for campers to use (so long as it is not already booked by someone else). This was a fantastic asset to the campsite because my large dog can only go off-lead in a secure field, so he had the time of his life! I camped next to the fishing pond under the shade of a tree which provided a beautiful backdrop whilst I had my dinner and read my book. The toilet and washing up facilities were impeccably clean. I didn’t eat at the cafe during my stay but saw several others there so I’m sure it’s good too. Honestly I was blown away by how much this little campsite had to offer. I will definitely be back.
Rachel D — Google review
Fantastic campsite right on the edge of the Shropshire Union Canal. Has the bonus of a great on site cafe. Excellent toilet and shower block - always spotless and fresh! Nice indoor pot wash area with local information and a laundry. The non-electric pitches have great views over the fishing lake. 4G signal is ok - better in certain spots. Canal towpath is linked to the campsite so it's easy for walks, including into Whitchurch. Excellent value especially for solos. You can hear traffic from the road but also lots of birdsong. Overall a great find.
Alice B — Google review
Campsite was very clean and the showers/toilets were well kept and clean too. We camped and there wasn't a plot / area marked or set out for us, we were just told to pitch where we wanted which led to people not leaving enough room for later comers. But it wasn't too busy and our tent was very small so we managed. Location close to main roads which was good for travelling but very loud at night time.
Laura P — Google review
Great campsite, stayed for one night whilst working in the area. Pitched my tent next to the fishing lake. Clean and modern facilities and cafe on site was spot on. Will be coming back with the family & dogs. Facilities for dogs great..

Lovely place with a nice fishing pond. Pegs n stands around it. We camped. But, for dogs. You need to book... The Kestrel. That's the dog allowed Pod. Lovely canal walk at the camp rear. At the front is a large dog area. ( We made good use of that. ) Also the Cafe does nice grub. ( Get there before 3pm ) All in all it's a lovely spot and popular. So book in advance where you can!! Shower rooms... Toilets... Kitchen area for washing up. Paul and the staff are lovely. So respect the place please. Julie, Jo-Jo and myself.
Taf W — Google review
We had a lovely stay here for a couple of nights in one of the pods, The site was lovely and toilets/showers nice and clean. Paul (site warden) and Birdie were very friendly, we booked onto the shooting with Paul the following day for a bit of fun and something different to do! Paul talked us through everything and was very knowledgeable in regards to the air rifles we were let loose on! Great fun and very enjoyable. Overall a fab stay and will be back again.
Anne N — Google review
Lovely owners and staff. Very friendly and they were around and always willing to chat. The site was immaculate. The grass was kept short and strimmed. The toilets/shower blocks and the pot wash area were super clean. Could not be faulted. The Kestrel camping pod was brilliant. Loads of room. 2 single beds, a table and a couple of chairs. A nice rug on the floor so no cold feet ! My dog loved it. Good `structure` to cook on outside. Ideal to make a cuppa or cook a meal. It`s a 30 minute walk down the canal and through Whitchurch Waterways Country Park into Whitchurch. Ideal for exercising the mutt. Some really lovely scenery. Plenty of Geocaches along the canal. Whitchurch is a nice old town and has some great pubs (all of which were dog friendly) If you want a woodland walk it takes about 30 minutes to get to Dansons Woods. Not a massive wood but good to let the dog have a wander and an explore. The onsite cafe was excellent. Really nice atmosphere and cheery, friendly staff. Good value for money and cracking food. I loved relaxing with a couple of beers on the decking overlooking the pool. The only (small) downside was the road noise - although to be fair you soon zoned it out. It didn`t stop my enjoyment of this cracking site. I will be back.
Lee B — Google review
We've stopped here for a break or lunch several times. Whether walking the canal or cycling the quiet lanes, or driving nearby, always a friendly welcome. Great choice of good value items. We sat outside, but there's plenty of room under cover, too.

Lady Berwicks Tea Room at Attingham Park is a charming spot for a traditional Victorian tea experience. The setting is lovely, and the afternoon tea offers fresh sandwiches and divine cakes.
