Nestled on a hilltop in Stellenbosch, Tokara Wine Estate offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. The modern winery features an art gallery showcasing William Kentridge's Porter Series tapestries and a chic restaurant with a panoramic deck. Visitors can indulge in a three-course set lunch menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and paired with Tokara's renowned wines.
Beautiful estate! We came for a tasting without a reservation but none was needed since we came in the off season. Originally we thought the sunset would be good to view from here but it’s actually on the wrong side of a hill so the sun sets on the other side. Regardless, we enjoyed the wines and our waiter was knowledgeable and great to talk to. Afterwards we got a glass of wine and walked around the estate and explored the vineyards at dusk.

Our visit to Tokara Wine Estate was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and breathtaking views of the Stellenbosch valley. We chose to do the wine tasting, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The tasting itself was expertly guided—our host provided a thoughtful and informative introduction to Tokara’s wines, covering everything from their winemaking philosophy to the specific characteristics of each varietal. We especially appreciated the insights into some of their recent awards, which added an extra layer of appreciation for what we were tasting. It’s clear that Tokara puts an incredible amount of care and passion into their wines. Each wine was distinctive, elegant, and beautifully balanced. The range was impressive, from crisp whites to bold reds, and even a few limited editions. The tasting room staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and made us feel welcome without being overbearing. Even though we arrived very late and just made it in time for the wine tasting, the Santa’s was extremely accommodating with us never felt rushed. The estate itself is stunning—modern architecture, perfectly manicured grounds, and panoramic views that make you want to stay all afternoon. It’s not just a wine tasting; it’s a full experience. Highly recommend Tokara to anyone looking for a refined and memorable wine tasting experience in Stellenbosch.

We went there for lunch. With 3 adults and 1 kid. Food was very delicious. The starters and mussels super nice. Pizza as well. Perfect with the lovely playground in the back. We also took a walk a enjoyed the spectacular view. We enjoyed a wine with our meal, for tasting you need to go the front of the estate.
Sabrina L — Google review
This place was super beautiful and the staff was extremely kind. I didn’t get a chance to try the food but the wine was DELICIOUS and the staff was great at recommending something for my party (including for those that don’t usually like wine or alcohol of any kind)
Gabriele M — Google review
Great place, great wine. Awesome view. The best service from all the winery estates I went in Stellenbosch. Chim is a very good sommelier that elevated my experience at Tokara
Pedro C — Google review
My partner and I loved visiting Tokara. Although it was raining, the estate was still beautiful. The wine tasting was excellent, and Matt was incredibly knowledgeable about all the wines — he made the experience even more enjoyable!
Nicola Z — Google review
Views and design are breathtaking. Did the Reserve Tasting R225, which is steeper than usual. But enjoyed the Elgin Sauvignon Blanc and the Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautiful gardens!

Waterford Estate is a sophisticated winery located in the serene Blaauwklippen Valley, nestled among the picturesque Helderberg Mountain. Despite being relatively young compared to other estates, it has earned a reputation as one of the top destinations in Stellenbosch for wine enthusiasts. The estate is committed to producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
Peaceful and beautiful vineyard. We had a chocolate and wine pairing and it was very good. Superb service by Tyler, our host for the visit. We also had a tour in the cellar, which was pretty cool!
Fábio A — Google review
I have been here a few times and it is always nice. The staff is professional and friendly. I’d recommend the chocolate pairing , but mainly because the rose geranium chocolate is my favourite. The platter is also very interesting and more than you would expect from other wine farms.
Zoie T — Google review
I found the architecture and the interior decoration very pleasing and our experience there equally impressive. The staff was accommodating and pleasant. Keep it up!
Lionel H — Google review
Waterford is not just a wine farm... it also has heart and soul.... this can only be achieved by having a family who works together and stays together. They might not be family at blood but heart and soul they are. Want to say thank you to Mark, Jamie and Natalie for your time, effort and kindness. Our waiter was so friendly and the service from all four people was out of this world. Thank you for showing us your world and a small piece of what you do and experience daily. Take care of your self and enjoy every moment. Thank you, thank you and thank you. Dirk

A fantastic experience Wine Tasting today, beautiful setting with knowledgeable staff. We tasted a combination of White/Red & a Rose and enjoyed a tasty platter too.
Emma D — Google review
We spent 5 hours at Waterford Estate and the experience was amazing. We started with the Portfolio Experience and ended up having a magnum of the Antigo paired with a lovely mixed platter. Our host Liam did a fantastic job. Strongly recommended!
Emanuel S — Google review
Lovely estate, the venue is absolutely gorgeous, but the food did not meet the standard. Food was cold and not cooked correctly, well also messing up the orders at a very high end location. My partner and I ordered the lamb rump, but the fat was not rendered, the meat was cold and bland. Hopefully we were just unlucky with our time at Waterford Estate, because it is such a beautiful place.
Ulene K — Google review
My husband and I are not big wine drinkers but when in Cape Town you have to visit a winery or 2. We chose Waterford because of the wine safari they offer and my goodness did we choose wisely. First off the place is absolutely magnificent. It was built in 1998 but looks like an old Tuscan estate that has been there for ages. The decor, views and grounds are spectacular. Our safari gave us a complete tour of the property including the grounds, magnificent cellar and production room. Our phenomenal guide Shawn was a wealth of knowledge and gave us such a great appreciation of just how much work and science goes into producing a single bottle of wine. We also were treated to a picnic next to a lovely pond and the setting was out of a movie. The nibbles were scrumptious and the wine delicious. I cannot recommend this estate and tour enough. It was a gorgeous way to spend the afternoon!

Glenelly Estate, located on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, is home to The Vine Bistro where Chef Christophe Dehosse creates a fusion of French culinary flair with local ingredients. Dishes like pan-fried pork trotter galette and springbok rump with mushroom duxelle are among the favorites. Additionally, visitors can explore May de Lencquesaing's impressive glass gallery showcasing 500 illuminated glass creations spanning 2000 years of history.
A great French gem with exceptional wines but the expensive restaurant requires more flavour and finesse and class in their dishes. Glass museum at Glenelly, Stellenbosch was an absolute eye opener! A must visit. One single private collector and her Madamme is now 99 years old. Lots of real artifacts!

Having lunch at this fabulous restaurant was a delightful culinary experience - French chef, French food , great wine selection - it’s decadent and different - Fabulous white asparagus with the best hollandaise sauce ! We will be back ..

Wine & dine amongst the most beautiful scenery - all just sublime. Treat your senses to an array of experiences from beautiful wines to artfully plated meals and a museum of fine glass displays.

Wonderful views, fantastic service and some really good wines. The Lady May 2018 was a particular treat.
Kev W — Google review
This wine farm is close to town and offers truly beautiful views. It has a lot of potential. Somehow it just lacks that animating energy and life that you would like to experience on a Friday afternoon. At the time we were the only visitors tasting wine. There is however a real authentic charm from the farm life that unfolds on the fields before you. With a tractor in the distance and birds chirping as they dance between tree branches, the sun setting beautifully behind them. Service was friendly and the wines were presented adequately. I very much enjoyed the 2014 Lady May. There are also very affordable tasting options. There is a manned safety gate at the main entrance and semi covered parking bays. The gardens and grounds are beautifully kept and well maintained. The glasses were unfortunately not very clean, and had cloudy marks that I presume were left by a dishwasher. On paper this should be a great experience and has all the potential, but it missed the 4th star from me and is some ways away from a 5th. It might be worth a return visit sometime during a more lively time of day.

I was invited by a dear friend and wine expert for a wine tasting. As soon as you get into the state you feel welcome. Awesome views of the state and the mountains. Ms. Lomay was waiting for me. She has set the table and the wines. Went for a tour to the museum. Beautiful pieces from the owners collection. Totally recommend the Merlot, Frac and the Lady reserve 16 n 18 Can't wait to be back! Congratulations to the team 👏 What I told Lomay: if you have a dream and you are focused it doesn't matter how old you are to accomplish it!

Absolutely beautiful wine farm, love the way the restaurant looks out onto the hills of vines. We tried the wine tasting and enjoyed the experience with a knowledgeable wine server. Liked that we were able to customize the tasting to specific wines. Wine tasting on classic selection is R10 a bottle and on the reserve R40 for two vintages of the same cultivar and then the Premier selection is R50. Stand out wine was the Cab Franc and Chardonnay. When you order a case of wine they do free delivery anywhere is SA. Also tasting fee is waived depending on what you buy and quantity. Do recommend to visit and maybe have lunch at their beautiful restaurant. Also beautiful mountain views as with most farms in this area.
The L — Google review
Great wine sales knowledge and tact, no mention of paying for the tasting prior to being introduced to the wines and being offered mineral water gratis. The vine restaurant looks perfect for a medium sized gathering. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Paved drive to the tasting rooms. Clean and well maintained facilties. Beautiful vistas of the surrounds. Can recommend the Lady May wine!

Middelvlei Wine Estate, located just 10 minutes from Stellenbosch city center, offers a genuine South African wine experience. Run by the Momberg family for nearly a century, this 160-hectare estate provides a rustic yet welcoming atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy barrel tastings of iconic Stellenbosch varieties like peppery Shiraz and gentle Pinotage. Families are especially catered to with activities for kids and traditional South African Boerebraai experiences.
We visited as a group of 30 with a tour. To start, they served bread with butter and two different types of sauces. Then came Greek salad, potato salad, and a cinnamon-sugar fried dough, followed by a toast with onions, cheese, and tomatoes. For the main course, they served sausage, chicken, and red meat. Finally, we had a local dessert served with ice cream, along with tea and coffee. The coffee had a unique, spiced flavor — quite different but interesting! Everything was delicious, although the red meat was a bit overcooked, which made it hard to cut and chew. The surroundings were absolutely stunning — lush greenery everywhere! We were truly amazed. They also have a small farm with goats, turtles, and chickens, which added to the charm of the place.
Helin — Google review
We had a fantastic experience at Middelvlei Wine Estate! The braai lunch was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked with generous portions and paired beautifully with their wines. The setting made it even more special: a stunning estate, relaxed atmosphere, and lovely views on a gorgeous day. Service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Highly recommend Middelvlei for anyone wanting an authentic Stellenbosch wine and food experience.
Steve F — Google review
I have been coming to eat at Middlevlei Wine Farm (Stellenbosch) for at least 4 + years. I have witnessed first hand how they diligently built up their restaurant and their wines....to where they are today-a successful business. Unfortunately I must add, my past visits were very disappointing....and although I didn't immediately take to rating them, I rather wanted to see if what I experienced was not perhaps " off days" , but this was not the case. What was very noticeable was the portion sizes of the chicken Keebabs ( they were always well sized) to the point of the dish lid not being able to close. The Keebabs we received yesterday ( and a few times before)....were nothing short of miserable, they looked boiled ( no colour, and taste) and most times tough, the chops were ridiculously thin ( but nicely braaied), yet the size took centre stage above the taste-very disappointing from previous times. The coffee seemed watered down, and really had no taste! What really sealed the disappointed was their pricing....for just two of us, (including one bottle of their average Red wine) it cost us over R630 excl the tip. I just don't think they are aiming at the locals for support anymore ( rather bus liads)....*what would it cost an average family of 6 cost to eat here?*.( local support). I cant help thinking that if they don't adjust, or bring out a slightly more competitive menu, they might lose local favour/support, when it would most definitely be needed in the winter months. My 3 stars are awarded for: *The venue, because it truly is a lovely peaceful venue. *The wine was stunning, and that on its own deserved 5 stars, and was well priced.... *The taste of the spiced chops was also very good. If you are looking for something different, I still think it's a unique experience for those liking a "farm-styled" environment within the city limits. But, I didn't take away the feeling of a "good meal" experience, rather that I had a good wine experience.
Vee M — Google review
Had a lunchtime 21st birthday party at Middelvlei. We were so happy with Althea and her team. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the setting just beautiful. Highly recommend.
Emmerentia N — Google review
What a wonderful, relaxingly quiet winefarm! Tasting room and restaurant with a beautiful cozy corner next to a small fireplace, or when busier (I guess) in front of a big fireplace. In summer you can sit on the big stoep or outside on the grass, overlooking vineyards and a meadow with cows and a donkey. Nice wine tasting of 5 of their wines for R75. Don't miss out on their pinotage made from premium free-flow juice. Worth the trip for this alone! Their menu also looks super delicious with lots of local food. I've had only freshly baked potbrood with fish pate and jam for a snack. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you want to bring dogs with, it is advised to call ahead of time to arrange, because they have the most beautiful and friendly Great Dane. This will definitely become one of my regularly visited wine destinations around Stellenbosch!
Gerhard H — Google review
What an amazing place. Great location, with stunning views. No fuss or frills.... Really good service, friendly people and great food & wine! What more could you ask for! Kids loved the big lawn area. Will definitely visit again and recommend it to others.

Absolutely amazing. We did the icons wine tasting. It was absolutely amazing experience. Staff very well informed on all the wines. Cheese boards delicious. Views stunning. Highly recommendable.

The location is great with a spectacular view. The ambiance and the staff is very friendly. The wine tasting with a quite high price was average, even the best wines with a price of ca 100 dollar did not meet the expectations. Price for value is not good. There are far better places to taste and buy excellent wines.

Perched high up on the Helderberg mountains, the views on a clear day are stunning. The wines, the service, the platters together with the overall wine tasting experience is world class.

Totally overpriced. Introduction to the wines was very basic. We didn’t feel well looked after. Also, the quality of the wines didn’t meet my expectations. Again, value for money is not good at all.

Uva Mira offers a stunning view and equally delightful wine tasting experience. We recommend adding this boutique wine estate to your must visit list when visiting Stellenbosch.
Judith D — Google review
Stunning views, exceptional wine, and delicious platters. Quite tranquil and calming surroundings. I would recommend making a reservation in advance because seating is limited. The best way to enjoy the visit is to plan to spend at least an hour or more. It is definitely one of my best wine farm experiences in the Stellenbosch Winelands.
Blessing S — Google review
Uva Mirra Wine is undoubtedly a gem among wine farms, and my recent experience with their Icon Tasting reaffirmed why it's a favorite on my list. The Icon Tasting is a pinnacle experience for wine enthusiasts, showcasing all six wines from The Icon Collection. What sets this tasting apart is not just the exceptional wines but the thoughtful additions that elevate the experience. Complimentary mineral water, a comforting hot beverage, and a carefully curated cheese board complemented the wines perfectly, demonstrating the farm's commitment to providing a holistic tasting journey. One of the standout features of Uva Mirra is its breathtaking view. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and picturesque landscapes, every visit feels like a retreat into tranquility. Coupled with the attentive and friendly staff, the ambiance exudes warmth and relaxation, making it a truly memorable experience. The wines themselves are a testament to Uva Mirra's dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Each sip reveals layers of complexity and flavor, showcasing the expertise and passion poured into every bottle. In conclusion, Uva Mirra Wine not only lives up to its reputation but surpasses it with the Icon Tasting experience. For those seeking a blend of exquisite wines, stunning views, and impeccable hospitality, this is undoubtedly a must-visit destination. Highly recommended for wine enthusiasts and anyone looking to indulge in a memorable tasting experience

Hidden Valley Wines, located on Annandale Road, is a beautiful estate to explore. Although The Deck was unfortunately closed during our visit, we will definitely return in summer to experience it. We enjoyed a walk along the trail, which was absolutely gorgeous. Next time, we’ll be sure to bring the kids along to enjoy it too.

Wonderful experience. My husband and I went for a wine tasting as the begining of your one year wedding anniversary. The staff were all so friendly and the lady that assisted us was very sweet and professional. The car guard Owen really takes the cake. When we returned to our car he had noticed our wheel was abit flat and after asking us for permission to assist he ran and got an electric pump to assist us. Wow such a lovely, friendly and helpful individual. Owen needs to be a manager somewhere if he is not already.

Our little family love the wine country and wine tasting is our passion. The tasting was hosted by a very talented young lady. Pity her name slips my memory. But the Deck was culinary disaster. Raw burgers. Pizza if that is what was served. Reading the reviews, clearly no implementation by management to improve food quality. I hope the new owners take note. Will pop around in 2 months.

Delaire Graff Restaurant is located on the picturesque Helshoogte Pass, offering stunning views of the Banhoek Valley and beautifully landscaped gardens adorned with striking sculptures. The estate doubles as an art gallery, showcasing 400 pieces from Laurence Graff's private collection, including works by renowned artists like William Kentridge and Sydney Kumalo.
We recently visited Delaire Graff for lunch on our anniversary, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. While the breathtaking views and exquisite food are widely known, it was the exceptional service that truly made our day unforgettable. The team went above and beyond to make us feel special. Not only was the service flawless throughout, but they also surprised us with a handwritten card filled with thoughtful well wishes, accompanied by delicious chocolates to mark our celebration. It was such a personal touch that left us speechless. Delaire Graff doesn’t just offer world-class food and views—they deliver a hospitality experience that is second to none. We were truly made to feel like valued guests, and it’s this level of care that makes the place stand out. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous location and environment. Wonderful wines. I think our expectation for the food was too high. They were beautiful dishes and prepared very well, but the taste wasn’t exactly to our liking. It was good though. I’d recommend visiting.

This is the best experience I’ve had at a vineyard in a long time. The staff is so kind but better than that the location looks absolutely beautiful and the view is BREATHTAKING. I can’t imagine a restaurant terrace with a better view than the one at Delaire Graff. The mountains and vineyards on the background are jaw dropping. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is amazing, of course they make their own wine so you have to try some. The whole property is gorgeous. The experience starts since you enter the property and get to admire their sculpture and beautiful grounds. It is a must stop in Stellenbosch.

We enjoyed our Easter Sunday lunch at Delaire today. This is my second visit, previously being Easter Sunday last year. This year was leaps and bounds better. The stand out is the service from Rico, thank you so much! We realised it was much later than we thought and had to quickly dash off to another commitment- otherwise could have spent the whole day there. Rico graciously packed our petit fours for take away. One thing that is a bit weird for an establishment of this calibre, if you are not allowing any guests into the restaurant before 12 noon on the dot, then maybe don’t take 12 noon bookings and make guests wait around if they arrive 5min early for their booking.

A Milestone Celebration Undone by Poor Service and Communication We chose Delaire Graff to celebrate my mother’s 75th birthday — a milestone event with family flying in from Australia. Sadly, the experience fell far short of expectations. We selected the restaurant based on its online menu, which featured several vegetarian options. But on arrival, the in-house menu offered far fewer choices. When we asked if a vegetarian dish could be brought over from the adjacent restaurant (just steps away), we were told we’d have to move tables — effectively splitting our group on a special occasion. The lack of flexibility was disappointing, but the service made it worse. The manager never approached us directly, instead sending messages through a staff member named Mark, who argued rather than helped. When we showed the online menu, we were told it was outdated — a poor excuse for a premium venue. We left without dining. What should have been a joyful family gathering was marred by rigid policies, poor communication, and a lack of empathy. I hope Delaire will reflect on this and respond with steps to ensure future guests don’t face the same.

As the name suggests this is the vineyard of the Delaire Graff diamond brand and it does not disappoint. The restaurant has sweeping views of the mountains from its extensive terrace, as well as a number of beautiful bronze statues around the property. The service is excellent and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. The food is absolutely delicious. It is beautifully prepared and all local, seasonal produce. We came for lunch and I can tell you it's well worth it. Be sure to book well in advance as it's very popular!

Nestled in the Jonkershoek Mountains, Jonkershoek Nature Reserve offers a stunning natural experience for outdoor enthusiasts. This UNESCO World Heritage site spans 9,800 hectares and features a variety of hiking trails ranging from 5 to 17 kilometers. Visitors can also enjoy mountain biking, swimming in rockpools and waterfalls, and observing the diverse wildlife. The reserve is particularly lush in winter and provides a refreshing escape during summer.
Jonkershoek Nature Reserve is absolutely breathtaking. There's fun for everyone. There are hiking and mountain bike trails. We see runners doing the 5km towards the car park inside Jonkershoek. Always make sure you are early if you are hiking, otherwise, add an extra 10km to your hike. There is limited space to park inside. I have done the two Waterfalls, which are the best in summer, while even better in Winter. There's enough water to take a dip and the water is refreshing. There is the Panorama route which I have yet to complete, but one step at a time. There is a cafe which sells warm beverages and snacks too. There isn't much signal, so make sure you are a big group when tackling the trails.

Multiple hike trails from easy to moderate and hard. This time around, visited the CapeNature Eerste Waterval trail. Stunning little hike. Be sure to arrive before 14:00 to be able to drive in and park closer to the trail start or be prepared to walk roughly 5KM to get to the starting point, which I what we ended up having to do. It was worth it though!
Olwethu S — Google review
Jonkershoek Nature Reserve is breathtakingly beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Personally, I would recommend a week day for a hike, as weekends can get really busy. The gates open at 7am on weekdays. Only 20 vehicles are allowed to enter per day, and one cannot book in advance. It is a 5km drive to where the actual hiking trails begin. If you are late, you have to walk the first 5 km's, which will add 10km's to your hike at the end of the day. We were at the gate on a Monday morning at 7am and the first vehicle to enter. I recommend taking swimming costumes as it is really great to cool down in the river or in one of the many pools along the river. We saw quite a lot of baboons, so just be aware and watch out for them. Most of the hikes are out in the open and it can get very hot, so be sure to remember sunscreen and hats.

What an amazing place. Around 5km hike to the trail entrance of the waterfall trails. There is an option to drive to that point, but only a limit number of vehicles are allowed to enter. So it's first come, first served. I arrived at 06h15, gates opened at 7am and paid an entrance fee of R75.

10 minutes out of Stellenbosch, Cape Nature oversee the Jonkershoek nature reserve. It is an immensely popular valley set in the moub mountains, hiking, and mountain bike trails span the area and provide many choices. It has many streams flowing into the river, and a circular drive to explore the valley by vehicle.

Peter Falke Wines is a picturesque wine estate located in the heart of Stellenbosch, South Africa. The estate, owned by the Falke family since 1995, boasts traditional Cape Dutch buildings alongside modern winemaking techniques. Visitors can enjoy tastings of their exquisite wines such as Pinot Noir, Ruby Blend, Syrah, and Exclusive Blend from Tuesday to Sunday until 7pm.
I recently visited Peter Falke Wines for wine tasting, and it was truly an excellent experience. The wines were of top quality, and the service was impeccable. Our waiter, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines, made the experience even more enjoyable. The estate itself offers multiple seating areas spread out across the property, providing an exclusive and intimate atmosphere. You can also take leisurely walks while soaking in the breathtaking views of the picturesque mountains. The entire staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring you feel well taken care of. The view and scenery are absolutely stunning, adding to the overall enjoyment. As for their wines, they never disappoint. I would highly recommend visiting Peter Falke Wines – it's an experience not to be missed.

We hosted a surprise proposal this past weekend at Peter Falke. Carmen was fantastic and captured everything that we wanted for this special day. On arrival, everything was ready to go exactly as planned. The staff was super helpful and everyone was in on the big surprise! The bubbles were amazing and the food even better! This service completely exceeded our expectations and we will happily recommend Peter Falke to anyone who is looking for a venue to host a special event. Thank you Peter Falke team for assisting the van Blerk/Geyer family on this special day!🌟

Lovely wine farm with tasty wines and great views but unfortunately our tasting experience felt lacklustre, rushed and thus, did not feel worth the R100. I will admit that we were seated by 4:10pm and the place closes at 5pm. So perhaps this is why our experience fell flat which I can understand haven worked in service myself. However, when we arrived we did not receive a menu nor was told about one. We asked for a tasting and just got one not knowing the ranges of the wines beforehand. I asked about possibly having something to snack on, the server said they’d check but never got back to us about it. We got served 6 wines, 3 at a time to which I felt the explanations around each wine was short, unintelligible and unenthusiastic. We also didn’t receive an actual bill, we were just told the total amount? Perhaps it could really be that our timing was not great, so I plan to be back given that when I was here 5 years ago it was nothing but a great experience. Thus, my four stars is encompassing of my previous experiences otherwise I would have given a 3/5. This is nothing against the staff as they were not rude or unprofessional, this is just constructive criticism for how the overall experience can be improved, although I understand it’s not easy with limited time.

I always have a good time visiting the Peter Falke Wine Estate and this time around was no different. We initially planned to just grab a bottle of wine and relax, but as they have now allowed for wine tastings to be held on their beautiful lawn area, we decided to go for that instead. They have different wine tasting options available, and in their range of Rosés, Whites and Reds, you are sure to find something you like. We also decided to grab one of their delicious flatbreads to enjoy with the tasting, which was a perfect pairing. Over and above the beauty of the estate with its great views, they also have a nice outside kids' play area and menu items for the little ones, making Peter Falke a good family friendly option as well. The only thing they can improve is to make their staff a bit more attentive, but other than that, definitely an enjoyable experience, and worth a visit.

Ordered PF collection 6wines and 3 cheese To be honest, all of wines they served were ‘nothing special’ wines. Especially white& rosé wines are not mine. I visited 3 wineries on that day, PF was,, quite under my expectation. But the vineyard and walk path are really pretty. And the view is scenic.

The tasting room, situated in the middle of a lake, provides uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains, creating an idyllic setting for sipping on their excellent wines. The Postcard Cafe at Stark-Conde Wines offers a peaceful retreat with its stunning lake views and tranquil surroundings nestled amidst the Jonkershoek mountains.
What a wonderful experience. I was warmly welcomed as a solo visitor arriving on a bike with no reservation on a Sunday afternoon. The tasting room is built on a little island on their property, which was a unique experience. Wines were enjoyable. I didn't taste the food but the restaurant and cafe were both packed so I suspect it's good.

The open-air tasting room is surrounded by mountains and water, offering a full 360° of natural beauty. I was genuinely stunned by the scenery. The wine was just as impressive! I would most definitely go back. Can’t get over how beautiful it all was!

Postcard Cafe service felt like it was a mission for the staff to pay us any attention , if you happy with sandwich ham and mediocre menu then all good but for the price you will do a lot better in Stellenbosch. The wine tasting and setting is beautiful!! Come for that and lunch elsewhere!

The food at their restaurant made me sick. I believe it was the red velvet cake I had that I also took home as takeaway. Ruined my weekend. The food also lacked flavour. They can do better with their menu. Nice views though.
Mashudu R — Google review
We recently visited Stark-Condé for a wine tasting as we were looking for a Syrah and we heard that they had a good one. The farm is nestled in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch and the road leading up to it is beautiful, as you are surrounded by trees, farmlands and mountains. On the farm they have a restaurant which I have previously visited, but I haven't been there in a while so not sure how it is now (it was very busy so it seems to be popular, though). The Wine Tasting center is located in a small building on a deck in the middle of a large pond with a walkway leading to it from the restaurant area. There are also some beautiful trees surrounding the Wine Tasting center which makes for perfect photo opportunities. Their tasting room is small with a deck surrounding it, providing some inside and outside seating options. The day we visited it was raining so most of the outside seating wasn't usable and the inside seating area was packed. Luckily they found a table (we were only 2 adults and a toddler) outside under the roof for us. They have a couple of wine tasting options with their standard tasting allowing you to choose 5 wines to taste including Rosés, Whites and Reds. Their wines are a little bit pricy, but definitely worth it and I am glad to say their Syrah lived up to the hype. Sipping on their delicious wines while taking in the surrounding beauty, and then all of a sudden it starts raining - all I can say is, the experience was very tranquil.

Cavalli Estate is a stylish and contemporary destination nestled in an indigenous garden, offering stunning views of a tranquil dam and the majestic Helderberg mountain range. The estate is renowned for its top-notch wining-and-dining experience, led by acclaimed chef Lucas Carstens who creates seasonal menus using sustainable ingredients sourced from the estate's vegetable garden and surrounding farms.
Cavalli service and food is excellent. The views of the mountains are stunning. I suggest if you are on a budget do their wine tasting. You have still the same beautiful views for the mountains and their prices are good.

We finally got to visit the wine farm and were welcomed by Lusindiso who was very lovely and gave us an amazing experience. I made it four stars because the head of the wine tasting (the lady), I forgot her name but was very horrible with us. She needs to learn to treat clients in a much better way. She does not know how to speak to people respectfully and when she is serving others, she speaks so loudly that you can't even hear the person who is standing in front of you and explaining the different wines. Nonetheless, Cavalli is very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Thank you once again, Lusindiso!

Lovely experience close to fine dining, but very Inexpensive (like 2 courses would be around 500-600). The terrace is beautiful, the restaurant is modern and lacks charm a bit. The dishes are complicated enough and well balanced, thought out.

This estate was spectacular! It was so good we ended up coming back 3 times during our stay at Clouds Estate. At first we did the tasting, which is super fun on the outside patio overlooking the vineyards. The wine was delicious! We also got the charcuterie appetizer with the tasting which ended up being so much food we skipped lunch.

We went for a wine tasting, and arrived early, at 10am for the tasting. The drive up was beautiful, however, the tasting itself and view from the patio were highly overrated. The wine itself, not impressive and the view, even on the outside patio is mostly of the car park or covered by palm trees. Fortunately this was the first tasting of the day and we were able to have much better experiences after we left.

This is definitely a must-visit place. Everything we ate at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. I also highly recommend doing the wine tasting — totally worth it. Make sure to take a little walk around the property as well. The hotel part looked beautiful too. The only downside was the slow service. Also, smoking is not allowed in the area where we were seated. We’re planning to try the Japanese restaurant inside on our next visit!

Total rip off. Wine is by far one of the worst wines in the region, easily, but their wines are 10 to 20 times more expensive due to the flow of international tourist. You should be ashamed of yourselves! You are a South African wine farm and wines of R8 500 is totally unacceptable, there are much better wines farms with much better views and wine at 10 to 20 times lower prices. You have also infected Tokara with your crazy prices, that local South Africans cannot afford. Are you crazy. We will not support charlotens like you. Do not fall for their aggressive marketing, to experience an average view and below par wines. Won't go there ever again

Nestled high on the slopes of the Helderberg mountains, Ernie Els Wines offers breathtaking panoramic views of vineyards stretching towards Table Mountain, False Bay, and Stellenbosch. Renowned for its bold red wines, visitors can indulge in a wine-tasting experience before savoring a laid-back lunch at the chic restaurant. The menu features comforting seasonal dishes such as free-range sirloin steaks and slow-cooked pork belly.
Ernie Els Wine Estate – Where Fine Wine Meets Golf Elegance Ernie Els Wine Estate offers a striking blend of sophistication and sport, with a setting that’s as polished as its pedigree. The view is absolutely outstanding, stretching over rolling vineyards with majestic mountain backdrops—truly one of Stellenbosch’s most scenic spots. The Shiraz is a standout—rich, bold, and beautifully balanced, delivering both power and finesse. Every sip reflects the estate’s commitment to excellence. With touches of golfing elegance woven throughout the architecture and decor, it’s a destination that reflects Ernie Els himself: world-class, stylish, and approachable. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast, golf lover, or just chasing a perfect afternoon, this estate delivers on every level.

I have reviewed many restaurants, always with the responsibility that it is not about any interests, but about the reality of the cuisine. In this sense, the location of Ernie Else Winery cannot be beaten. Architecturally, too, this place is a treat. The view of nature, a high-energy view. But the food is "just" average, very good food. There is no question of world class or Michelin level here. It's good and without a doubt, but to be honest, I'd rather be one level lower at Guardian's Peak for all the inside. If you talk about stars here, I'd give it 4.5 out of a total of five. Reason enough to visit again and again, but not to speak of a one-off meal. Perhaps it will be better next season.

Breathtaking views, aesthetics and great service. We went on a Sunday to enjoy the winter special and the they did not disappoint. What a lovely touch the welcome drink is, with their very tasty rose. Everything about this wine farm is lovely and cozy. The weather was gloomy but the views still spectacular. I can’t wait to be back on a sunny day and do the full wine tasting.

This is an intimate restaurant that’s almost always fully booked. We were treated to a LONG, lazy lunch from 12h00 to 16h00. It didn’t seem as though any table had more than one sitting and our waitress never rushed us and took the time to engage us in warm conversation – about the wines, the food, her own journey, and Ernie Els (of course). It was genuinely refreshing to enjoy not just the meal, but the company of our waitress too! Each dish was homely, flavourful, and satisfying. I honestly cannot fault the restaurant or chef on a single thing – it was a perfect dining experience. Our table of four enjoyed both starter options: the pork belly croquette served in a brown lentil soup/sauce, and the hanger steak salad. For mains, we had the beef pitivier (pie) and the aubergine masala. I had actually tried to book a table here back in December, but there wasn’t a single opening for the entire month and into January. Fortunately, our waitress let me know that their wine tasting section doesn’t require reservations, and you can order small plates from the restaurant there. One of those small plates must be a burger as we saw countless orders leave the kitchen while we sat enjoying our meal!

I would definitely recommend, I was there last weekend with my daughter n my Bestie. It's family friendly wine estate and the ambience was lovely. We enjoyed their Winter 3 course menu and paired it with a bottle of Chenin blanc for our table. The waiter responsible for our table was very respectful n friendly. He showed a lot of visibility to our table from the start until we left. The food was also okay....the pork belly starter almost ruined my experience.

What a beautiful suprise… after being turned away from 2 wineries because I had my Pomeranian pooch with me, I discovered that this winery is pet friendly. The staff is wonderful, I had no booking and they were pretty busy, but arranged something for me quickly. My waiter Nicholas was great and it was a delightful touch when he brought my pooch a bowl of water… with ice 😂. You know a restaurant is good when they can turn something simple and make it taste like the best you have had. They managed to do just that. I had the Sirlion, medium rare….and it was perfect. I washed this down with the Ernie Els Major series Cabernet Sauvignon…. A truly pleasant wine complimenting the meat dish exquisitely. I sat on the veranda overlooking the valley, awesome views on a crisp but sunny winters day. All and all I was really impressed. Lots of attention to detail, such as receiving a complementary splash of wine upon entering the restaurant, but more the professional yet curtious and friendly warmth of the staff ensured a truly memorable experience.

Absolutely outstanding, never missed a single beat. From the amazing, tasteful and expansive decor bringing you some of the most amazing views in Stellenbosch, and followed by stunning food and good service, there’s not a single thing out of place and not deserving of five stars in this restaurant. The dishes were really amazing the menu was short but we were nevertheless spoilt for choice and the flavours and execution of each dish were incredible. For locals, the restaurant is also relatively good value because you can normally pay two or three times as much for food of the same quality. As a result it’s easy for me to say we’ll be back as soon as possible because everything was perfect and the bill was reasonable. Well done to every single person at the Ernie else team that made such an amazing meal possible

Very disappointed. We wanted to enjoy a second bottle of wine for 4 people. We ordered at 16.20 but the waiter came back and informed us we can buy the wine but not drink it there!! The restaurant closes at 17.00. When we wanted to speak to the manager we were told we could go and see him inside, he is not coming to us. Eventually we just had to accept after we spoke to him - rude manager and poor hospitality! Such a pity as it is a beautiful place. Our behaviour was impeccable but we were rudely dismissed and told by the manager it is fine if we dont return.

Allow at least 2 hours to meander around and take it all in. The walk is mostly flat on well maintained pathways. There are toilets and sun brollies for guests. This place is heaven if you're into gardens and sculptures. A definite must visit when in the area.

Absolutely astonishing. I was not ready to be this impressed, but the gardens are magnificent and the conversation between the sculptures and their environment is incredible. I can honestly say I have not understood Dylan Lewis’ sculpture until seeing them placed and considered and contrasted and blended with the landscape time this - truly amazing. Book ahead. You won’t be disappointed

What a fabulous place. Entry numbers are limited to keep it a special experience, and go at lunchtime when you will get it almost to yourself. So many really good sculptures of all sizes, well landscaped gardens, and a gentle 2 hour walk around. For us the only thing missing was a few benches along the walking route, to both take a break on a hot day, and to stop and admire some sculptures further. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You have to book online in advance, just turning up is NOT an option.

Absolutely breathtaking way to spend a morning or afternoon! We had popped into an art gallery in Stellenbosch with one of Dylan Lewis' sculptures, and the gallery steward mentioned his garden. What a wonderful, unexpectedly spectacular surprise. The gardens are stunning - Kirstenbosch equivalent in diversity and variety, gorgeous fynbos everywhere and pathways through the gardens, surrounded by the Paradyskloof mountains. And then, popping through the greenery, or standing tall on a grassy hill - the wonderful masterpieces of Dylan Lewis. Worth every cent. Small coffee shop with great coffee and a few little delectable treats. (no picnics allowed) The staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. They have wellington boots, sun and rain umbrellas also available in needed. I can't wait to be back Booking on the website is advised (we were lucky as it was a cold day, midweek) Probably a 2 hour outing. Parking at the entrance and then a golf buggy takes you to the gardens.

This has been on our to-do list for a while. What can I say... it was incredible. We took our time and followed the path as we did not want to miss anything. Dylan Lewis is an exceptional sculptor. Displaying his work in a most beautiful garden brings out the best in each masterpiece. Not to be missed.

This was an exceptional venue. Worth it even in the heat. World class! What a delightful day even the teenagers loved every minute.

Muratie Wine Estate, located at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountains just outside Stellenbosch, is a historic 17th-century farm offering wine tastings, a gourmet restaurant, and charming guest cottages. The estate continues the tradition of warm hospitality with its old cellars adorned with famous cobwebs and ancient oaks. The Farm Kitchen serves up delicious dishes made from fresh produce sourced from the farm's own garden.
Visiting Mutatie for the first time was a real treat. Why haven’t we been here before?! The history, the old buildings and the beautiful green lush garden made it worth while already. And the lunch on the terrace was very good as well. We shared the sesame seared tuna (a very big portion!) with pickled ginger and veggies, and the bobotie samosas. Both very tasteful. The caesar salad with chicken had good ansjovis taste and was filled with chicken and parmesan. My husband had the steak and chips. The chips could have had some condiments, but the mushroom sauce of the steak did the trick as well. We shared the malva pudding. It was bit dry and I doubt if the custard was homemade, but still a decent (not too) sweet ending of our lunch. Together with a bottle of cab.sav (2020 but still lighter and younger on the palate). The terrace chairs could have an upgrade to make it a bit more qualitative, if I need to give some constructive feedback ;) We will be back to taste the very good looking cheese platter soon!

To be clear the food is good, and the wine is amazing, but service can be alot better. It's a capacity issue because the waiters are friendly and welcoming but there's not enough of them, which kinda impacts the experience when you're waiting for something to drink and you're thirsty. To reiterate, everything else is great 🍻
Francois G — Google review
The setting is truly beautiful and creates a wonderful first impression. Unfortunately, the service did not match the atmosphere. When we arrived, several staff members walked past us without greeting or offering assistance, which left us feeling a little overlooked. After being seated, we waited for quite some time without receiving any attention or even the chance to taste the wines, which was disappointing given the reputation of the venue. On a positive note, the car guard at the entrance was exceptionally warm and welcoming — his friendly approach stood out as the highlight of our visit. Overall, the location has great potential, but the guest experience could be significantly improved with more attentive and engaging service.

A Taste of History in Every Glass Stepping into Muratie Wine Estate feels like walking back in time. This storied estate, one of the oldest in South Africa, is rich in character and atmosphere. From its cobwebbed cellars and original architecture to the beautifully preserved historical artifacts, Muratie offers a truly immersive experience steeped in heritage. The wines reflect that same sense of tradition and quality—robust, elegant, and expressive. Each tasting tells a story, paying homage to the figures who shaped the estate’s colorful past. The food pairs beautifully with the wines, making for a well-rounded and satisfying visit. The only downside was the service, which felt somewhat distracted and inattentive at times. While the staff were friendly, they seemed stretched or perhaps not fully engaged, which slightly detracted from an otherwise superb experience. That said, Muratie remains a must-visit for anyone interested in South African wine history, rustic charm, and beautifully crafted wines. With just a little more attention to service, it would be near perfection.

Darren offered the best wine tasting experience in the 6 wine farms we had been to. Knowledgeable in the history of the farm, the cultivar and explaining the way it compliments. Asking what was preferred and could hold a lovely conversation. Thank you for your knowledge and recommendations.

Such a stunning spot! The open canvas gives you all the freedom in the world to design the wedding of your dreams. Besides the canvas/tent, there are more beautiful spots: Vinyeards of course, but also a beautiful ceremony space under a big tree, and views of Table Mountain in the background. The staff were so lovely with not only the wedding guests, but with the vendors are well! (copyright of photographs by Kim Raaf)

Dornier Wine Estate is a winery estate located in the foothills of the Stellenbosch Mountains in South Africa. This beautiful spot is known for its unique granite terroir, which results in elegant wines that are often experimental. The property has nine self-catering cottages, which can accommodate up to 16 guests, and a modern wine tasting centre with panoramic views of the mountains.
An architectural vineyard definitely worth visiting, it has been our favourite wine experience so far in South Africa. The staff were very knowledgeable and passionate. The charcuterie platter was excellent! 👌

Had some light lunch here today along with a wine tasting with some friends. Absolutely amazing views of the mountains near Stellenbosch. They offer several different wine tasting options and we did the basic version. Wines are good quality and the waiter was very insightful in the wine presentation and ba ground. We also had a cheese platter that was amazing. The call their pizza flat bread and is also recommended. One recommendation from my side is that they offer clean glasses for the new wines. During our tasting they just added the next wine to the empty glass of the previous wine. This is personal preference through. Restroom cleanliness 5 /5 Restroom convenience 5/5 All in all a great outing.
Gerardt V — Google review
Great experience overall - the property is beautiful and wine pairing with a mixed platter was well served. However, service wasn’t as great and I felt the attendant wasn’t much in the vibe of explaining - she would just state her prepared text and go. But again, good experience overall.

What an amazing estate. We booked for a cellar tour which was very informative. Shout out to Jordan for going the extra mile. The cheese platter was fresh and tasty. Dornier leaves you feeling calm and perfect spot for a chill outing. We cannot wait for our next visit at this stunning farm.

It's a beautiful wine estate that's well worth a visit. The architecture of the cellar is on another level. They have a great selection of wines and good food. Milla was phenomenal and very knowledgeable.

Dornier.. an absolute MUST. Each of the glasses of wine was better than the previous glass. The setting is beautiful, and the wine barrels and cellar are kept under a massive pond.. keeping the wine at the perfect temperature. We bought lots of bottles of wine as each one was our favorite! The setting is absolutely spectacular! The wine labels are shaped like the cellar's roof. Our server Milla was extremely knowledgeable and made everything sound interesting. And it was absolutely perfect weather!

I had the pleasure of a tour of the facilities and wine tasting with family last year March. Absolutely awesome place, brilliant staff and brilliant wine. I would highly recommend giving Dornier Wine Estate a visit.

I wasn’t overall very impressed. The wine was average. Some nice, others not great. I thought the service was pathetic being left outside in 40 degree heat and basically forgotten about. After 35 min I only had two of my 6 wines for the tasting. The inside has limited seating so most people die outside in the heat and are forgotten about by the waiters. After I complained I was offered a seat inside at the bar which made it better. Was annoyed and left.

With Chef Paul Prinsloo at the helm, guests can savor dishes crafted with fresh seasonal ingredients and artistic flair. This might be one of the most stunning wine farms in Stellenbosch! Wow! The view is marvelous, the wine is of high standard, the platters are delicious, the staff is friendly yet professional. What more do you want? 10/10 and definitely recommend to all who like a glass of wine with a view.
Anissa V — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous place. Booking process was easy and swift. The views are to die for and the service was great. The only issue we had is we kept getting flies in our table and they had no plan in place to assist with the flies issue. We also couldn’t taste different wine pairings, they said a table can only do one pairing, which didn’t make sense cause how do you expect different people in a table, with different wine preferences to all try out a similar wine option, when you have a variety of pairings on the menu. The beauty of the place made up for this inconvenience but I still don’t understand why you have this clause up as it limits one’s experience entirely. We also spotted a roach in the ladies bathroom, which was also not expected.

Very rare to come across service this polished and personable. I picked this place amongst many to propose to my fiancé because of how breathtaking it is. I honestly could not believe how stunning the place was. My only reservation is the food. Please try to diversify the contents of your picnic baskets 🧺. I could not eat most of what was offered because it seems to be catered to a specific type of guest. And this is obviously because of the demographic in the area. For me, the picnic basket was not great value for money. Would’ve been nice if we were given the opportunity to at least choose the contents of the basket from a more diverse, standardised list.

What an amazing experience ❤️‍🔥🥂 The wine taste is not strict to only people who are into winery, it tastes nice for everyone and even with a low alcohol tolerance. The place is very amazing and out of this world with windows reflecting the beautiful and astonishing views and no I'm not talking about my significant other, the natural fields and mountains creeping out of the green fields around it, it is the most intimate and relaxing place to visit. You can bring friends or a significant other, the place caters to all occasions. Make sure to come early to explore the entire place before guests that made private/picnic area reservations arrive. No need for reservations in the main lounge.

What an incredible and intimate picnic experience! This was by far one of the best picnics I’ve ever had. The food, service, views and overall experience were excellent! Our waiter, Asher, was wonderful and attentive throughout the day and we loved that after our beautiful feast, we could relax with our wine on the beautifully set up lawn with blankets and mini bean bags. We had also ordered the vegan picnic for our bride-to-be and her food was excellent too. I highly recommend the picnic at Quoin Rock!

Stellenbosch University Botanical Garden, part of the University of Stellenbosch, offers a serene environment to unwind and explore ongoing university projects. The garden features a diverse range of native and exotic plants, including an extensive bonsai collection, four glasshouses, and themed gardens. Visitors can marvel at the lily pond with Victorian water-lilies and towering trees such as the California redwood and giant sequoia.
Fabulous and peaceful spot in the heart of Stellenbosch. Explore the well kept and fascinating gardens, the art, the shops, enjoy a sandwich and coffee or tea with freshly baked scones, sit on a bench and read a book, marvel at the bonsai collection. A great garden to escape the pressures of the day. Nominal entrance fee. Lots of parking.

It is a relatively small but beautiful botanical garden. It has a bonsai collection and quite a few varieties of succulents. There’s a small gift shop, that has many beautiful handmade items, some of which fund the botanical garden. I wish there was a bigger selection of plants on sale or seeds from the garden. The veggie garden raised bed containers were disappointingly empty.
Ioana D — Google review
This place is incredibly affordable and set in a truly beautiful location. The grounds are fun to explore, with winding paths and hidden corners that invite curiosity. We had a great time wandering through the gardens and taking some really lovely photos. The gift shop looked charming and full of interesting finds, but unfortunately it was closed during our visit. The staff we did encounter were friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the experience. Some of the greenhouses were closed or had already shut for the day, which was a bit of a letdown. It would have been wonderful to see more of them. A scavenger hunt or a bit of trivia along the paths would have made the walk even more engaging and interactive. Overall, it was a memorable visit with a lot of potential for even more magic.

Beautiful gardens in the middle of Stellenbosch. It’s not big at all, but there are a lot of amazing plants crammed into it. We went while there was a market, but that shouldn’t have to be the reason for going. There’s also a little coffee shop selling pancakes and other stuff.

If you love bonsai this is the place to be. The Stellenbosch Botanical Garden has the most exquisite bonsai sanctuary, with some bonsai dating 100+ years old. Walking amongst them feels walking through a museum. As a student at stellenbosch university it’s the best way to spend your study break, alone time or an authentic date idea.
Luke B — Google review
Disgusting! That's the only description that describes the state of these gardens. Overgrown and unkempt, how they can charge you to enter is a disgrace. The amount of commercial stalls and blaring music speak volumes. Don't bother spending your money here. My response to your reply is that you are obviously biased for obvious reasons. The gardens are a disgrace if you look at them as an outsider. Weeds and wild grass knee high EVERYWHERE, rows and rows of dead plants/seedlings amongst the bonsai trees, and the list goes on. Botanical gardens are supposed to be tranquil places where fauna and flora lovers can enjoy the surroundings while being enveloped in a quiet space. As far as the commercial vendors are concerned, there is a place for everyone, and this is not the place. Maybe the international visitors enjoy it but for locals it is tacky and unnecessary in this environment.
Q A — Google review
I always love having a stroll through the garden. They have a wide variety of plant species and are busy with multiple upgrades through the gardens-which is great. The gardens can however benefit from better maintenance-it seems a bit dilapidated and unkempt.
Anneri M — Google review
Went to the coffee shop because the food is usually great but the service was abysmal and the food subpar. We had the bacon, cream cheese, jalapeno sandwich and there was probably one and a half slices of bacon on it with a grand total of 8 jalapeno slices. Our waiter did not check up on us once in the duration of our meal. She took the plate while we were still busy eating. We waited for 30 minutes for the bill, went to the bathroom and our table had been given away. Still no bill in sight. We had to go inside to pay.

History Museums
The Village Museum in Stellenbosch is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It features four restored 18th-century village houses, each furnished to represent different periods from 1709 to 1929. Visitors can step back in time and experience the architecture, fashion, furniture, and design of each era. The museum offers guided tours by staff dressed in period costumes who provide insights into the history of each house.
This is a fantastic preservation of multiple eras of building across the history of the town from founding into the 19th century. As well as a history of the area from pre-colonial times. The buildings and gardens are carefully restored and cared for in an ongoing basis as well as presented by docents at every stop on the self guided tour. Definitely don't forget to bring some smaller currency to reward the hard work of their docents who dress to the period of their stop on the tour and are very welcome to any questions about the history. I really enjoyed my visit.
Jonathan C — Google review
4 beautifully renovated Dutch style houses from the 18th century. The house has some of the same period furnishings that made the houses more time appropriate. Very nice experience.
C N — Google review
An interesting museum consisting of four houses you can visit with a single ticket. While it’s not in the best condition, it has great potential. The staff is very sweet and friendly. What’s disappointing is that few of the items in the museum are actually authentic to the houses on display—many of the paintings on the walls are replicas unrelated to the museum, and some objects don’t even match the historical period. Worth a visit, but don’t set your expectations too high.

Nestled in the picturesque Simonsberg region, Simonsig Family Vineyards is a charming family-owned wine estate that has been a cornerstone of the South African wine scene for decades. Established by the Malan family, this vineyard offers an inviting experience with cellar tours and delightful wine tastings complemented by snacks on a lovely shaded veranda.
Enjoyed this place sooooo much! We had booked an outside sitting spot, we sat outside to take in the beauty of the place and later requested to move indoors. The service was 100% and their wines matched the setting & service. I’ll definitely go back for their vineyard tour/ route experience.
Zola N — Google review
I always love visiting the Simonsig Wine Estate and this time around was no different. We had a great time. We began our visit with a wine tasting where I went for the option of selecting 6 different wines in their different categories and my wife their bubbly, Cap Classique, tasting. Every wine we sampled was full of flavour, and I appreciated that we could taste wines from different budget categories which gave me a clear picture of their overall quality. After the tasting we decided to grab a cheese and charcuterie platter which paired perfectly with their wines. The highlight for me though, was when I got the opportunity to sabrage a bottle of their Kaapse Vonkel Brut - it was a fun and exhilarating experience which I highly recommend! If you want to do the sabrage, the price includes a bottle of the Kaapse Vonkel. To top the entire experience off, they have a nice shaded kids' play area to keep the little ones entertained and the service was friendly. Simonsig consistently delivers, making it a must-visit for any wine lover.

What a beautiful vineyard located in Stellenbosch with a well rooted history. This vineyard has spectacular views of the mountain with delicious served wines. We went for the 6x tasting of the day, which included 2 glasses of sparking wine, 2 glasses of white wine and 2 glasses of red wine. Absolutely stunning view of the mountain which you can never get enough of paired with some quality wine. I highly recommend the labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon or the Tiara. 2 of my personal favourites from this vineyard. The team and management seems to have changed since last visit but still delivered too notch service with quality explanations of each wine. What a lovely way to end of the afternoon!

We didn’t make a booking as it was an unplanned visit however, the staff were very accommodating considering it was a busy Saturday. The wait was a bit long and we ended up taking a walk to pass the time while waiting for our waitress in between tastings. The kiddies pairing is very nice and definitely impressed our boy. And obviously the bubbly didn’t disappoint as Simonsig are the pioneers of bubbly in South Africa. They also have a small kids play area and a large lawn area where you can also sit and relax.

Our first wine tasting in Stellenbosch and we stayed 3h, in stead of 1h. Sunny is an amazing sommelier. We started at first with a basic winetaste session, but Simon offered us the option to taste same wines, over different years, giving you a glance, what happens with a wine, over the years. Sunny is a nice guy to listen to. You definately need to add this house into your todo list We enjoyed a nice food platter next to it (it was needed haha)

Went to Simonsig for a special birthday bubbles tasting on Sunday and it was totally disappointing. For a winery credited with pioneering South Africa’s Cap Classique, we expected something special (on par at least with the multitude of Cape wineries we've been to over the years). The tasting room is dated, bare and dull compared to other wineries, who all pride themselves on spectacular tasting rooms. It felt like an old school hall. Service was so inattentive: we had to ask for water an hour in, and by the end of the second hour of waiting, we still didn’t know if there was another tasting round coming, if the tasting was over, nor did we know exactly what was happening or where our server had disappeared to. We eventually had to go find our waitress at the cashier area, where she then told us we still had one more varietal to taste and asked if we were staying? Would've been nice if we'd been told that an hour earlier and served the last tasting as even lunch time had now come and gone. After two hours, we paid without finishing the tasting and could't wait to leave. We were bored, hungry and frustrated. Especially because it was meant to make a special occasion, something memorable, for the right reasons. Which it sadly wasn't. We all agreed, we definitely won't be back
Charlene D — Google review
What a disappointment from start to finish! Our bubbles tasting on Sunday 12 October was meant to be a special birthday celebration, but after two hours of poor service, we gave up and left for another venue. Despite having made our booking over a month in advance, it couldn’t be found on arrival. The tasting room wasn’t busy, so we were seated, and our first tasting arrived. It took an hour to get the second varietal, and that only happened after we went looking for our waitress to ask for water. Another full hour passed without seeing her again. When we eventually decided to leave, the cashier informed us there were still two more bubbles left in our tasting. By that point, we were frustrated, hungry and ready to go. We won’t be returning. The service was appalling. While the outdoors is scenic, the décor in our indoor section felt tired and outdated. With so many wonderful wine-tasting destinations in the Cape, Simonsig needs to seriously raise its standards to compete.

My wife and I had the tasting menu and got to try all the dishes between us. Every course was beautifully done and the wine pairings were spot on. Highlights were the springbok starter and the beef fillet with bone marrow – both outstanding. The Classique and Baron Edmond wines really impressed. Special mention to Nelda, who looked after us with such care and attention. A fantastic experience all round.

A truly exceptional dining experience! The tasting menu showcases stunning seasonal dishes, each thoughtfully paired with wines from the estate by knowledgeable sommeliers. The service team strikes the perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion. Standouts include the springbok carpaccio and the structured wine tastings that take you through their impressive vintages. The restaurant's elegant setting overlooking the vineyards creates a perfect backdrop for special occasions. While premium-priced, the combination of superb food, expert wine service, and magnificent views makes it absolutely worth it. A must-visit for fine dining and wine enthusiasts.

This is one of the most beautiful wine farms in Franschoek. The service is top tier and personal with a very friendly knowledgable team. We came for a wine tasting and only tasted the imported champagnes which were amazing, but will be back for a lunch. Highly recommended.
Sinako C — Google review
I was really looking forward to this lunch as I have been drinking their wine for years with pleasure. I'm afraid it was a great disappointment. Expecting a more traditional architecture, I found a very modern and unattractive venue. The staff were welcoming and friendly. When I originally asked to increase our number to 4, I was informed they were full but would try to accommodate. They did. When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty and stayed that way! 4 other tables only were occupied. It took ages before menus were provided but a welcoming glass of excellent French champagne was served. Meal included wine pairing and was excellent in both quality and quantity. The food was well presented but nothing exceptional and the quality frankly disappointing. Elements were fine but the main parts weren't. The staff at all times were professional and understanding. For an establishment with name credentials of this fame, a wholly disappointing experience. Maybe for others less picky, the price would be extremely good value.

Exquisite, high class wine tasting experience. It is actually a very small farm but it uses other wineyards nearby to only make 3 wines. They all have unique character, old world French style wines which are smooth to the palate yet tandalises your senses. Staff are extremely knowledgable and the setting is off first class. However their wines are not cheap😂 I mean overseas affordability. They also import a variety of fine French wines and also expensive to most South African market. Worth a visit but do make booking or call because when the small farm is full, you may not enter through the front gates.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated simple elegant and cozy. The terrace is beautiful too. I was welcomed with a glass of rose champagne. Very nice touch. The trout starter and fish mais course were excellent. Service is outstanding. I am back for a second time. Waitress very arrogant and unpleasant. Only one white wine and no rose. Their wines are imported, not even produced in the region. Very disappointing...hence one star removed. The line fish and panacota were very good. The outdoor terrace is nice and green

The food was spectacular. The staff were amazing they provided a level of service unparalleled in South Africa. We enjoyed the wine and food pairing. Although this place is pricey I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a very special occasion.

Nestled in the picturesque Stellenbosch region, Meerlust Wine Estate is more than just a vineyard; it’s a captivating piece of South African history and culture. This national monument boasts stunning architecture, including its 17th-century main house, and offers unique accommodations in former slave quarters for those seeking an extraordinary stay. The estate's name, which translates to 'pleasure of the sea,' reflects the refreshing ocean breezes that grace this enchanting locale during summer months.
Definitely worth booking the VIP tasting. I was lucky to have the cellar master conducting mine. Riedel glasses and so much information about the farm, terroir and the wines. He opened some older vintages too. One not to be missed. Meerlust is such an iconic wine. Not in the prettiest part of Stellenbosch but very easy to get to from town or the N2

Amazing wine tasting conducted by Alief, who has a degree in viniculture and oenology and studying towards his WSET L3. Whilst Stellenbosch has many good wine farms, tastings are frequently done by staff who just regurgitate what they memorise about the wines as it’s being tasted. So it’s quite surprising to be served by someone who actually has knowledge…we enjoyed our tasting very much and learned a lot! Alief, I hope you do well for your exams and pls visit Singapore soon!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve visited Meerlust Estate a few times—not for wine tasting, but simply to enjoy the atmosphere—and it’s truly a sight for sore eyes. The estate is beautifully maintained, with a peaceful, welcoming spirit that you feel the moment you arrive. The historic Cape Dutch architecture, tree-lined avenues, and serene surroundings make it a hidden gem just outside of Stellenbosch. Even without a glass of wine in hand, Meerlust offers a sense of timeless charm and quiet elegance that’s hard to forget. Highly recommended for anyone looking to soak in some natural and historical beauty.

We popped in here from the airport on our way to Franschhoek...the lady at the front desk of the Wine Tasting was very friendly. Laura Lee who explained the different wines had a good sense of humor and made us laugh. Lovely place!

5 stars for the wine. The wine tasting experience is good but it’s not a scene: basically you come for a quick inside tasting, you buy or not buy and then you leave. I think they would do well to glamourise the experience but I guess that won’t happen until the owner/wine maker changes. But honestly can say the wine is exceptional and prices at the farm are decent.

This is a wine only winery. Nothing more than wine tasting and purchasing wines. The sommelier was amazing and very friendly. This brand is more expensive that the rest.

L'Avenir Country Lodge is a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque valley beneath the Simonsberg Mountains, just a short drive from Stellenbosch. This charming lodge features 11 elegantly appointed rooms and boasts stunning views of lush vineyards. Guests can unwind by the beautiful infinity pool or explore the working winery that surrounds them. The tasting room offers an intimate experience where visitors can savor unique wines, including delightful brut rosé, paired with delicious local cheeses.
Today was the perfect day. Out of season, not many guests, bright blue sky, no wind, 25° and a service full of dedication. No matter who came to serve us at the table, sometimes it was a woman, sometimes a man and even then someone else. We had decided not to have breakfast today, but to go to the wine farm to either have lunch or get a professional wine tasting. We have already done many wine tastings, not only in South Africa, but also in the Napa Valley in Sonoma Valley or in Chile in the Central Valley. Or simply here in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. This decision today was brilliant. I have rarely had such a good cheese platter. The meats were also excellent and the French Nuke trout was indescribably good. I can't say it often enough how great the service was, the quality of the food and the atmosphere there. Of course it was best because we were almost alone, but I don't want to fail to emphasise, albeit several times, how great the service of the people and the food was - thank you for that.
Kael — Google review
I stayed one night at L’avenir Country Lodge in Stellenbosch, and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The service felt inattentive from check-in onwards, and the room itself had a noticeable unpleasant smell. Although the space was free from clutter, the overall cleanliness left something to be desired, and the bathroom was clearly dated and in need of an update. On the bright side, the pool area and outdoor spaces were well-maintained and quite inviting. However, breakfast was a letdown there were only a few pineapple slices, cheese bread, and salmon that didn’t appear very fresh. All in all, I can’t recommend staying here.
Tim L — Google review
Very very beautiful vineyard and quality service in the tastings - thanks to Ryan, our attendant in the visit. The wines are great - especially their Pinotage, the South African classic. Their tasting space is gorgeous and very cozy.

We had an amazing stay at L’Avenir Country Lodge. The service was impeccable, notably from Elmarie at the reception and Wayne at the wine tasting. The place is lovely and the swimming pool is beautiful. The wine tasting was included with the night. The breakfast was delicious. Everything was perfect, thanks again!
Laura C — Google review
Very good and modern hotel! Staff is really friendly but sometimes the reception was not occupied by them. As a hotel guest you get a free voucher for the wine tasting (5 different wines from their own vineyards). You only need a 10‘ Uber or Bolt ride to visit Stellenbosch.

We were warmly welcomed by the best host, Marshall. We booked accommodation near an event at Daisy Jones bar but were overly surprised at this beautiful gem. Marshall upgraded our room, he was so helpful and extremely kind and attentive. Every detail was meticulously planned to make our stay great! Rooms are FULLY equipped and the heated bathroom was amazing. Lovely bath and big shower. View from our room was breathtaking, vineyards, mountains and the sound of peace. We were also surprised with a wine tasting and enjoyed an amazing ham, fig and camembert toastie. Breakfast was delicious and enjoyed next to the fireplace. Will definitely be back!!!

If you are a lover of Pinotage then the L'Avenir Wine Estate is a definite must-visit. We visited for International Pinotage Day and enjoyed everything we tasted. The Pinotage Brut was a particular standout, offering a refreshing and bubbly twist on this classic South African grape. We started off with a wine tasting where we tasted different cultivars as well as different styles of Pinotage. Our waiter, Darren, was also very friendly and knowledgeable only adding to the entire experience. After tasting their wines, we decided to grab a bottle of Pinotage paired with a delicious cheese and charcuterie platter, while we enjoyed our surroundings. The estate itself is beautiful, with ample seating options including indoor and outdoor. We opted for a table on the lawn, enjoying the stunning views of the dam and vineyards. While there isn't a dedicated play area for the kids, the spacious lawn provided plenty of room for them to run around and explore, and the roaming roosters and ducks kept them thoroughly entertained. As an added bonus, if you enjoy some outdoor activity, there are boules available to play while sipping on your wine as well. If you're searching for great Pinotage and a tasty wine-tasting experience, the L'Avenir Wine Estate is a must-visit destination.

Established in 1682 in Ida's Valley, Stellenbosch, Rustenberg Estate has a rich history. Since 1892, they have been producing outstanding wines. Situated on an expansive 880-hectare property near the iconic Simonsberg Mountain, the estate boasts an impressive vineyard spanning 110 hectares. Recently visited by Afri Vista tours, this winery offers a well-organized and beautifully presented wine tasting experience.
This was our favourite winery of the trip. Quiet and calm, beautiful set up under high trees. Lovely manicured garden to visit. Fantastic and very affordable wine, especially the Chardonnay. Great sommelier - one of the more professionally explained wine tastings that we did. Would make for a great wedding venue.

Rustenberg has quickly become one of my favourite farms in Stellenbosch, which says a lot. From the scenic drive through the green meadow to the wonderful tasting room, I can’t wait to visit again. The wines are incredible and extremely good quality for money, especially for locals who knows how expensive wine in Stellenbosch can get. We had a wonderful pourer who loved talking about wine as much as we did. I still talk about Rustenburg to anyone who asks where to go for a wine tasting and it’s been 2 months since I was there. There is a big open grass field next to the tasting area where kids can play if that is important to you. PS get some of the honey, it is amazing.

My partner and I discovered this winery after coming across one of their bottles back in the UK, so while we were in the area we decided to stop in for a tasting — and we’re so glad we did. We had an incredible afternoon enjoying the wines, chatting with the friendly staff, and even got to see the cows out on the farm, which made the visit feel extra special. Highly recommend dropping in if you’re nearby! Hayden, Australia 🇦🇺

I enjoyed this venue on a wine tasting trip with Afri Vista tours. Everything was well organized and beautifully presented. The garden is a place that you read about in fairy tales. Beautifully landscaped with little benches and places to sit and take in the beauty. A real hidden gem overlooked by most of the wine tasting visitors. Put this venue on your list for your next trip it is well worth it.

A most definately visit for lovers of open spaces and gardening and Landsberg on a large scale. The gardens surrounding the winery are just immaculate in their detail and even if you miss the Rustenberg Manor Open gardens these little gardens semi and formal are just the most wonderful tranquil space when passing through Stellenbosch. They are child friendly and the large open lawns generous and well maintained. The selection of plants is impressive and to see Hydrangea quercifolia 'Oak Leaf Hydrangea' which one cannot find for love of money 1.5 m tall and in full bloom ahead of their epic autumn foliage a sheer delight.

Bartinney Wine & Champagne Bar, located in central Stellenbosch, is a popular spot offering sustainably produced, small-lot wines and French Champagne. The bar features a cozy ambiance with comfortable reclaimed armchairs and a terrace for outdoor seating. Visitors can enjoy wine-friendly seasonal nibbles and sharing plates while admiring the stunning light installation made from old Chardonnay vines hanging from the ceiling.
Bartinney is a nice wine & champagne bar for both wine and MMC (South African version of Champagne) lovers. Nestled at the edge of the center of Stellenbosch, this bar exudes a charming blend of rustic elegance and contemporary flair. Their selection of wines is simple but effective. The knowledgeable staff enhance the experience. While the options are limited, the quality and variety are more than enough to satisfy. The cozy ambiance, especially the nicely terrace, makes it a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon.

The coziest and coolest wine bar in Stellenbosch. Simple but tasty cheese and meat platters and a wine selection that is from Bartinney Farm that boasts some top notch wines and enviable awards. If you want to splurge, you can buy a bottle of Dom or Cristal. So pop in, sit down and drink wine!

My local hangout mature like good red wine. Always a winner to have a Noble Savage Cab Merlot with friends at this hidden gem in Stellies. No matter how many times I'm come here I am never disappointed. You can order snacks and some light meals/snacks from the family shop (Montegray & Independents).

In the heart of the winelands this quaint little wine bar is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. Offering all the wines that the Bartinney winery produces (whites, reds, roses and MCC), craft beers and a small selection of wine based cocktails, there is something for everyone. Most of their wines are available per glass or bottle and they also have snacks that you can order. In the winter the inside seating area is perfect with a warm and cozy atmosphere, and in summer they have the classic "French cafe" seating at small tables on the side walk.

Ken Forrester Wines has a fascinating history, starting as a breakfast room for an accommodation property and later evolving into a restaurant run by the former owners. After taking over the business, Ken Forrester and his brother Allan transformed it into a successful venture. The winery is renowned for its sustainable farming practices and produces hand-crafted wines from old-vine stands.
We had the best day here. The Chenin wines are incredible! (There’s a 2007 Chenin Reserve that is a must try if you like wooded wines and the FMC is also amazing) The MCC is also amazing, their Brut was great! We had cheese platters which were delicious. It’s a beautiful setting, tucked away and cosy, but with beautiful mountain views in the distance. Would definitely be back!

What an amazing experience here. Letho was so knowledgable and we really had the best wine tasting. I was not impressed by the Chenin Blanc, but again a personal choice. I loved the Chardonay Reserve, Merlot and Natural Sweet. Will definitely be back. Lovely farm with stunning views.

Incredibly experience. We had almost all the wine they offered and we failed to fine one we didn’t like. They have really changed my mind on Chenin and I now recommend Ken Forrester to any Chenin Hater to be converted. We had the most amazing pourers who’s passion for the wine really shone through throughout the tasting. Also in-love with the doggos.

Always been a fan of their Chenin so stopped by for a tasting. Beautiful setting. Excellent pourer, very knowledgeable and had the chance to compare lots of different vintages. Learnt about the farms’s history and the way they make each wine - so interesting. If you think you have to go to Vouvray for interesting age-worthy Chenin, try some of these older vintages. Great experience, naturally left with a few bottles.
Carl K — Google review
We booked a wine tasting and charcuterie for two on Saturday afternoon. Not entirely sure why, as it was by no means busy and we never received a confirmation. While we were doing our tasting in the wine lounge, the owner and three people seated themselves near us and conducted what seemed like a business meeting. As we were happily chatting to ladies at a nearby table, the owner abruptly turned around, glared at us and with a flippant hand signal, indicated that we should be quiet! We were incredulous at the pompous arrogance of this rude man! If we were bothering you, you should have been in your office. We cancelled our charcuterie and left. The lovely wine unfortunately overshadowed by the bitter taste left in our mouths. Instead of subjecting your paying patrons to this level of disdain, you should focus on the outdated interiors instead, Ken. With many more upmarket wine farms, serving superior wine and offering guests a warm and welcome experience to choose from, we were reminded why we hadn't visited your establishment in over a decade. We will never return and most definitely not recommend you to any of our overseas friends and colleagues. On the contrary...

We celebrated a belated 50th birthday of a family member yesterday with lunch for 13 at Ryksaart’s Restaurant. The venue is stunning and the food superb. My husband and I went for lunch. This is a beautiful wine estate. I live in Somerset West and sadly this is the first time I've been here. But now that I know, I can see it becoming a favourite! The gardens are so lovely, with raised vegetable beds, and an incredible view. We dined Alfresco under a lovely shady tree and Nash was the best waiter. I brought my own glutenfree bun with as we knew we were going to have the burger and chips. The flavours of that beef patty! So good! I could taste the coriander and cumin. Excellent live music to accompany our food and we bought a bottle of The Emily Cuvée rose which is in itself out of this world. I cannot fault the service, ambience, venue, view, wine or food. It was all amazing.

One of the most pleasant restaurants I have been to in the time I have been in Cape Town. From the service, to the food to the amazing scenery at the location, Longridge does not leave any stone unturned when it comes to offering an extraordinary dining experience! Our waiter Nesh went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and even happily indulged our request to take group pictures. He is the embodiment of service with a smile! In a time when things have been so heavy with the pandemic and its related lockdowns, it was refreshing to be in an environment that took all the precautions to give us not only a memorable experience, but one that adhered to the Covid-19 Protocols. I would 100 percent recommend and hope to be back again God willing! Thank you Longridge!

To be honest, I felt misled! They only inform you that they are separate businesses after you make the reservation, but there’s no mention of this in the description on Booking. When you stay at a winery, you expect a winery experience, and that wasn’t the case! The experience is poor from the start, beginning with the reception (which doesn’t exist). Our room had a view of the parking lot, and the pool is inside a family’s house, meaning it feels like you’re invading someone’s home! Additionally, the restaurant doesn’t operate at night, so if you want something to eat, you’ll have problems. There’s no menu, no snacks, and no replenishment of the minibar in the room. Another negative point is the lack of any introduction when you arrive! When you check into a property like this, the minimum expectation is an explanation about the place, the winery, prices, and the wines produced there. The response you get from the receptionist is, “Check with the restaurant because they are separate businesses.” And none of this is mentioned on Booking! I left the place without knowing the prices of the wines, without any recommendations, nothing. I don’t recommend it and wouldn’t return! Despite Debie (the host) trying to help in some way, I didn’t have a good experience. We paid a high price for a bad experience!

A Memorable Stay at Clos Malverne Wine Estate We recently had the privilege of staying at Clos Malverne Wine Estate and would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Seymour & Sophia Pritchard, Suzanne Coetzee, Amy Brandt, Berni Jacobs, Debi Mans, and every member of the team who contributed to making our visit truly exceptional. From the moment of arrival, we were met with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to hospitality. The meals were outstanding, the wines exquisite, and the service consistently attentive and friendly. No request was ever too great—every detail was handled with care and enthusiasm. A highlight of our stay was the rare opportunity to witness the total lunar eclipse and the Blood Moon. Thanks to the estate’s unobstructed views, this celestial event was absolutely breathtaking and added a magical dimension to an already unforgettable experience. It is also encouraging to see the ongoing efforts to uplift and enhance this fine establishment. The dedication to quality and guest satisfaction is evident throughout. Thank you, Clos Malverne, for a remarkable stay. We look forward to returning and experiencing your continued excellence. Regards. Hendrik & Louis

We have planned to stay there for two nights because we very totally convinced about the nice pictures, the great offering and the perfect service. Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip but the service from Clos Malverne was nothing than exceptional! Thank you very much!

Peaceful surroundings, room overlooking a dam, great for weekend breakaways. Room was clean and spacious with coffee and tea available. Beautiful sounds of birds. Warm reception by Michelle. Definitely a "go back to" place.

We love this place. Belinda is such a doll - so welcoming. The place itself is pristine and have everything you can need - love to detail in beautiful surroundings. And it’s a stone’s throw from the town - you can easily and safely walk. So you have a quiet beautiful space 10 mins walk from all the bars and restaurants ♥️

An amazing place to stay in Stellenbosch. Room 1 is beautiful with private outside breakfast spot and firepit. Loved this place!!

Great location. Nice decor. Friendly manager. They have an inverter so we weren’t affected by load shedding. Cleanliness needs to be improved, for the price it should be faultless - walked around barefoot before showering and my feet were filthy from the floor. Lots of hair all over the place that wasn’t ours. Dirty plate packed away in the cupboard. Needs some maintenance - skirting boards need a coat of paint in the bathroom, very dirty.

Absolutely amazing. Its in the middle of Stellenbosch, you can safely leave you car and walk everywhere you want. The rooms is clean and very well equiped. I wouldnt recommend another place than Heritage House. The staff is really friendly especially Belinda, the manager, she will go more than the extra mile for you!

Fantastic accomodation. Ideal location: close to Stellenbosch town -2min by foot- but still quiet street. Very clean rooms, and perfect cleaning and laundry service. The manager Belinda was very well organised and helpful. I will definitely come back to this place.

Well, if it is not for the hospitality management of Ms Belinda Gantz, the stay at Heritage House (HH) will be incomplete. Replete with the efficient staff, such as Angie, under the careful supervision of Belinda HH is as luxurious as they come. A well equipped Kitchenette, good quality and clean linen, comfortable bed and welcoming interiors for guests of the guests, Heritage House is well recommended for stay at Stellenbosch. The location is central, easy to navigate and access. Safety is well taken care of with the Safe for the passports to feel extra safe! The 1 pending start in the rating is just because HH does not serve Breakfast, however, it does not deter the guests from cooking up a stormy breakfast to serve the ever eager friends over a good conversation. Great work HH! Looking forward to revisit when in Stellenbosch next.

Haskell Vineyards, located in the picturesque golden triangle of Stellenbosch, is a delightful escape for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This serene destination boasts stunning views and an inviting atmosphere at its Longtable restaurant, where you can savor delectable sharing plates paired with exquisite wines from both the Dombeya and Haskell collections.
This was the most stunning date I've ever been on with my husband. Omw talk about peace and tranquility. You lounge on the lawn eating stunning pizza and chilled wine and once the food settles you can go and swing on a magical swing with a beautiful view. Don't miss this one it's GREAT

I called to make a reservation and was told it's fully booked till March. I then asked my colleague of a different race to call on my behalf and she got a reservation. At this point I was not keen on going but was forced because I'll would forfeeit my voucher. Upon arrival we were not taken to our table the manager just pointed and we had to usher ourselves. So yeah worst experience the only nice thing was the view and wine.

What a special place to have a beautiful glass of wine. Manager saw we were the last for a tasting and sent us home with 5 half bottles as they were going to go to waste from the days tastings. Wines are stunning, scenery beautiful and service flawless.

Haskell Aeon 2013 was my favourite and we bought a bottle to take home. The Shiraz and Steamed Bun pairing was a good way to go. Highly recommend.
