The best place we overnighted at in Stellenbosch! 🥂 Brenaissance Wine Estate is a true hidden gem — from the beautifully kept grounds to the stylish, comfortable accommodation, everything was just perfect. The peaceful surroundings and stunning vineyard views made for a wonderfully relaxing stay. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the breakfast was top-notch. 🍇✨ Can’t wait to return — highly recommended for a tranquil escape in the heart of wine country!

We stayed at Brenaissance Wine & Stud Estate at the end of July and had an amazing experience. From check-in to check-out, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Solomon was fantastic — even late at night he welcomed us with a smile and opened the gate without hesitation. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The estate is quiet, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind and escape from the city. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.
Robert R — Google review
We loved our brief stay here. Rene was an incredible host and helped us feel welcome and went out of her way to give us recommendations. It's a beautiful property and we enjoyed the breakfast.
Gregory D — Google review
For our brief stay here everything was exceptional! All of the rooms were clean and beautifully decorated, the staff were all friendly and hospitable. We came back late in the evening after a wedding and they allowed us use of the pool room to continue the festivities. Breakfast in the morning was amazing, and the staff were very kind and accommodating to alter breakfast options for small children. The area is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Had a wonderful time here and would definitely recommend it!
Imogen K — Google review
We enjoyed our quick overnight stay and loved every moment. Our host Rene was fabulous and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful and also gave us lovely recommendations for the remainder of our vacation!
Tabatha S — Google review
Very disappointing experience. The rooms were grotty, the geyser wasn’t switched on and we all had to take cold showers while getting ready for a wedding. The ladies came to clean the room at 1pm as we were getting ready and when we requested that they come back later, they said they needed to go home so our cottage wasn’t cleaned once during our two day stay. We selected this accommodation as it was 2km away from the wedding we were attending, only to find out that the road access was restricted, turning it into a 25 minute journey. When we arrived at the venue, other guests confirmed that their accommodation provided them with access to the private road. It was disappointing that no effort was made to assist us in this regard. The only redeeming factor was René who was lovely.
Layla N — Google review
What a beautiful and tranquil place! Simon and Rene were very welcoming and made sure that our stay was comfortable. I have every intention of going back once the restaurant has been reopened.
Phumza N — Google review
Beautiful place. Comfortable rooms. When the restaurant is open again it will probably be 5 stars but it was difficult to find open restaurants in the area that were open

The property boasts a refreshing swimming pool surrounded by scenic views and well-appointed rooms with private balconies or terraces. Guests can indulge in cellar tours and wine tastings featuring an impressive selection of award-winning wines.
We had such an amazing experience at Asara, from the time we drove into the wine estate, we were welcomed by Mike And Isaac who literally opened our vehicle doors then proceeded to take our bags out and walked us to the reception area. Boitumelo was waiting for us with warm wet towels and a big welcome smile on her face. John checked us in nicely snd we were offered a gksss of wine and then walked to our room. Our room was soo spacious and clean. We loved everything about the hotel. Our food was amazing, the dinner and the hotel itself is sooo beautiful, the art in there is too stunning. Our breakfast the next day was even better. Well done to the entire time for making sure that we hand an amazing experience.
Mpho S — Google review
Great Room and Location. The service of the evening staff was great but had a poor breakfast experience- food was great but the waiters passed around a order on a napkin only for them to confirm the order 35mins later. Not what you expect from 5star experience. I also asked to be seated outside but was told there was no space. Only for 3-4 other groups to arrive after me to be seated outside.. made us to feel like other individuals where of a higher priority or rank. It shows how the experience of one part of the stay can spoil the efforts of the rest of the teams.

An Unforgettable Stay at a Stunning Estate We recently had the pleasure of staying at Asara Wine Estate with our international guest. It was an absolute highlight of our business trip. The estate itself is set in phenomenally beautiful surroundings, offering breathtaking views that perfectly capture the beauty of the Winelands. Our experience was made even more memorable by the exceptional staff, who were attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome. Our room was incredibly spacious and well-appointed, providing a luxurious and comfortable retreat. The overall atmosphere was so quiet and peaceful, allowing us to truly relax and unwind after a busy day. It’s a rare find that combines luxury with such tranquility. We will certainly be returning and would not hesitate to recommend Asara to anyone.

My husband’s 40th birthday was made extra special by choosing to stay at this hotel. The standard of service was next level and consistent across all the staff we came into contact with. Nothing was too much effort and we were treated like royalty from the minute we arrived. On top of that, our room and the facilities were absolutely stunning! We will definitely be back! What a very special treat this was :-)

What an amazing experience and the staff were absolutely out of this world. Special shout out to Calvin at Asara for treating us like Royalty. What stunning wine tasting and dinning experience with the most breathtaking views. Will definitely be back to experience the accommodation.

This is a gem of a place. The views are spectacular. The rooms are beautiful (deluxe room). About 6kms from town centre. The restaurant food was delicious and served with great care and attention. The staff were professional and kind from the moment we arrived. I will definitely return.

My wife and I went to Asara for a weekend for our wedding anniversary and it was a magnificent weekend. The rooms on the dam side are a must, sitting outside with a nespresso and staring at the mountains with your partner is what it is all about. Treat yourself to the wine tasting and cheese platter, you won't regret it.

The Stellenbosch Hotel, situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, offers traditional and bright rooms as well as apartments. The hotel's elegant bistro, The Stellenbosch Kitchen, provides an authentic dining experience within a historic Cape Dutch style building. Guests can enjoy the old-world charm and social ambiance while relaxing on the terrace or dining indoors.
Fantastic, historic hotel! My parents visited this place over 30 years ago so it was a bit special staying here. The rooms were comfortable and I appreciated that the bathrooms were new. Fresh bottled water was a bonus and the other amenities were high quality as well. Breakfast was simple but delicious. The hotel helped arrange a private chauffeur for a wine tour which was also fantastic!! Everything is walking distance including the village museum and some nice restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend!!
T D — Google review
It's an excellent hotel. The Stellenbosch kitchen makes really good food, and the staff are always ready to cater to your every need. Unfortunately the parking is a bit fiddly, and there is no pool, but that doesn't matter considering the prime location :)
John S — Google review
The front of house staff is pretty amazing. Rooms are very average but clean. The only complaint has to be the managers attitude. I had to check in 3hours later due to a power outage and she did not even feel it ok to offer any form of compensation or when I addressed it just shrugged it off. Very unapologetic and that is very disappointing for a leader who should try and keep guests happy. Reception and Porter staff where exceptional though.
Bernie B — Google review
My home away from home numerous times. Rooms, breakfast, cleanliness, service, location all excellent. The hotel staff are always ready to assist. Felt disappointed when it was time to leave but will return for another visit in Summer

I am shocked!!! Disgrace to say the least. If you book and pay in advance and you come here and you find great staff and people that worked for the businesses with such a positive attitude. Then you realise at 20H40 coming back from town in a wheelchair or not then they don’t have parking space for you!!!!!!!!!! How is it possible? Have to drive around in streets as close to get a parking! It can range from 400m to 1 Km to get to the entrance!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE If that is a 25

The reception staff was amazing and very friendly. Their willingness to help was remarkable.
Sthembiso M — Google review
The standard rooms are the worst. They are by the entrance of each building-you get disrupted by the noise and movements. I asked to be moved to a quieter room as I have endometriosis and lack of sleep triggers it but they couldn’t assist. The curtains were see through and the night light reflects in the room as shown in the pic.it was difficult to get a good night sleep. On my first night around 1:09am a man tried to enter into my room and he said he was allocated the same room- this was scary and i couldn’t sleep. I wondered what would have happened if i my key wasn’t on the door. I reported at the reception and I was told is typical gust behavior. RESPONSE Unfortunately I couldn't find the reply button to the owner. I wanted to clarify the misinformation in the owner's response-I wasn't informed on booking that the standard room is at the doorway and that it would be loud. I raised a complaint with them about a man trying to open my room and saying he was given the same room at night and I was told its typical guests. With moving I wasnt told about the disount-I was only told that the Reservation manager said he cant move me as the standard rooms are at the entrance and if I want an upgrade I need to pay R500 per night only. I am staying at the accomodation inorder to attend the conference and the noise only stops around midnight which makes it difficult to rest. I even showed the reception my swollen belly which was flaring because of lack of sleep-as I have endometriosis.

Winelands Golf Lodges at Klein Zalze Estate offered exactly what we needed for our trip. Rooms were clean, fully functional for self catering. Location is perfect and security is very good. The Lodge restaurant offered good food and service. Driving through the Wine estate was a really great experience. This place is also a golfers haven.

Great stay! Rooms are modern, clean and spacious. Room isn’t really sound isolated like mentioned as you can hear people on the hallway. It isn’t bothering at the moment but could be if you have loud neighbours . The views are also amazing and staff is very kind. For breakfast you can choose from the buffet AND a la carte. I would recommend it!

The Salene is a charming hotel located in Devon Valley, Stellenbosch, South Africa. It's conveniently close to attractions like Hartenberg Wine Estate and offers access to sports venues such as Paul Roos. The venue is described as magnificent, romantic, and serene with spectacular views and beautiful grounds perfect for events or a leisurely stroll. Guests praise the attentive staff and well-equipped rooms, while also highlighting the isolated yet relaxing atmosphere of the hotel.
Booked for ladies retreat at The Salene cottages and we enjoyed ourselves. We recieved a warm welcome from the reception. The place is near nice attraction places. Definitely will return to experience the hotel.
Antofogasta A — Google review
We stayed at The Salene for a good 5nights and 6days. The rooms would be cleaned daily but you could see it was a haphazard job. The shower wasn’t cleaned properly at all. A previous guest must’ve left their toiletries etc in the drawers under the basin and those weren’t even removed. You could see that the room wasn’t being swept at all. The worst of all were all the rugs under the beds, you can tell they were not cleaned often. Gave off a bad smell and just looked outright dirty. For a boutique style hotel and with the price tag I think they could surely up their game when it comes to cleanliness. Apparently the kitchen is hired out. Breakfast was sad. They made pancakes and savoury rotis which were served obviously not eaten on the specific morning so the same tray was served the next day. A few of the staff were friendly and forthcoming but yeah. 100s on the views but not the hotel it self.
Cheitali D — Google review
We stayed at the Salene for two nights. The rooms are a bit old, but well maintained. The grounds are very beautiful and you have a great view of the mountains. What gave our stay a negative aftertaste was that only filter coffee was included with breakfast. You had to pay extra for cappuccino, etc. When we checked out, we asked for some water for the journey, which we were also charged for. For us, this is stinginess in the wrong place and at €100+ per night simply inappropriate. We will not be coming back.
Rosa K — Google review
It is an absolutely beautiful and scenic location. With mountains and valleys all around, you get a tremendous amount of peace and quiet when here. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very nice. Rooms are clean, and they are very accommodating.
Theran P — Google review
We experienced blatant racism and extremely dismissive behavior from the front desk staff member. Her tone and attitude were unacceptable and unprofessional. It was deplorable the way she spoke to us, and it left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome.
Yolanda H — Google review

Academia Student Accommodation stands out as a unique private residence that combines the benefits of being affiliated with Stellenbosch University while offering the independence of a standalone facility. Nestled in a vibrant area, it provides students with access to academic, sporting, and cultural opportunities typical of university life. Residents enjoy a safe environment where they can focus on their studies and socialize freely.
Excellent choice of private university residence for our 1st year son.

Great place if you're a first year or yearn for a frat house. Otherwise it's kinda mid, it's a bit annoying to get friends into the place, and sometimes just frustrating. If you're a BA student, you will have to walk at least 15 minutes to get to your classes; which is fine but is definitely something to consider.

Best student accommodation in Stellenbosch. I stayed here for four years and can definitely recommend. The staff go out of their way to tend to the needs of students and make students feel at home. This is a very safe environment where students can spend time on their education as well as socialize without worrying about their personal safety or that of their belongings. I enjoyed my stay here very much. Very kind and helpful people. I had a private room and it was perfect. Very clean.

Does what it says on the tin. Showers and toilets were clean and pleasant. I heard the cleaning service regularly doing their thing during the course of my stay. I appreciate that they had mats in front of the shower - a simple detail but one that is often overlooked. Having ADT in the house made me feel very safe and was super cool ✨🤩😄, I could hear their radios going and banter from their team mates, was so intriguing. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again.
Jeremy J — Google review
Stayed one night here and was really happy with everything. Showed up early and the hostel held onto our bags, gave us a city map and winery recommendations. Didn't have a problem with transportation using uber/bolt during the day. Then came back and walked around the city center bar hopping before coming back. Felt very safe the whole time and very different feel vs cape town. Hostel has a perfect location, everything was clean. Beds are basic and rooms auto locked and opened with a key.
Dylan C — Google review
Safe backpackers in a good spot of town in Stellenbosch. The owners are really lovely and can assist with many things. Have stayed here 3 times over a period of many years, every time has been perfect. Thanks guys.
Chu A — Google review
A wonderful quiet hostel located in a prime spot right in the center of it all! The hostels beds are very comfortable with big duvets, each private room has a kettle as well as a coffee and station, and the shared kitchen has everything you need to make a meal, an oven, stove, refrigerator, and lots of pots/pans/utensils. There are indoor and outdoor communal areas for socializing and working. It’s a quiet hostel so a traveling looking for a party might not thrive, but it has top notch amenities and is very comfortable.

Very nice hostel, Located centrally in Stellenbosch, surrounded by many restaurants and bars, only a few minutes to walk to the historical center of Stellenbosch. The staff at the hostel was super friendly, explained a lot about the region and things to do when i arrived. The dorm room was nice, there were small lockers for valuables and the bed was super comfy, i slept really really well in there. Would be nice if the dorm rooms had more sockets though to charge stuff overnight. Definitely a very nice hostel & great starting point to discover Stellenbosch.
Dominic — Google review
I only stayed there for two nights and it was fine. When I woke up the first morning it was a bit noisy outside (music etc) the owners are nice people. I don't think there are any food facilities (kitchen), but there is a bar. There weren't any hot water when I woke up which was disspointing. There are only small lockers in the rooms for valuables so travel light when visiting this location.

I had a lovely three nights' stay at Baruch. Staff were very polite, attentive and professional. Room and amenities were perfect and they have some load shedding solutions in place. Breakfast can do a little bit better regarding variety. Thank you. Update 14 Feb 2024: They installed fully operational solar, which was amazing during 37 degrees celcius and stage 6 load shedding. Would've been lovely if my room water was replaced every day. Thank you though, will see you again soon.

It is an amazing place. On the one hand they invest in the development of the youth, sharing cultures and adventures while on the other hand there are opportunities for housing of school groups, students and presenting group functions. A truly dynamic place with truly dynamic people.

For an unwinding, tranquil experience, this place ticks all the boxes. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The views are spectacular, having wildlife close to your stay, although very safe. Friendly dogs willing to accompany us on our walks. Highly recommended.

Lovely and very peaceful. Wildlife (zebra, springbucks, black wildebeest and different kind fowls ) in front of the cottages. Dont forget about the 8 lovely dogs that are waiting for someone to go for a walk.

Best place to stay Stellenbosch. Gorgeous location and best view in the area. Quint is the friendliest host and I could not recommend a better service.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! If we could give a ZERO STAR rating, we would! Dirty, disgusting, nothing worked properly, noisy, no privacy, no service, exceptionally rude owner who doesn't know how to talk to customers or run a business properly and leaves people in charge of it who are completely incapable of running his business in his complete absense! Getting the basics of the hospitality business right is too difficult a concept for the people who run this place. We stayed at this venue in May 2023 and this is what we experienced at this horrific place: 1) The toilet got blocked during our first night's stay there. We reported it to the owner the nexm morning, but by 2PM the following day, it had still not been fixed. We then reported it to the cleaning lady as well (as she and the grounds keeper were the only people on the property - the owner was nowhere to be seen during our whole stay there) and she assured us that it would be fixed. We left the premises for a social event and when we returned that evening, it had still not been fixed. We had no working toilet for 3 days and had to use my mother-in-law's bathroom who luckily stayed in another room which had a working toilet. 2) When we had to get ready for a wedding on the Saturday, the shower water went cold in the middle of me taking a shower and I had to run out into the cold with wet hair to my mother-in-law's room to go and finish my shower there. 3) The towels we got were horrible. Old, super thin and very small, very difficult to dry off with. We also never received dry towels, even though we repeatedly asked the cleaning lady for it. The towels we had didn't ever get dry, so we were using the same soaking wet towels for 4 days straight. 4) The bed had no flat sheet on it, and we were freezing cold because there were also no extra blankets anywhere to keep us warm during the freezing cold winter nights. 5) Both blinds in the bathroom are too short to cover the whole window, so anyone from the outside can see you naked when you use the toilet, or undress in the bathroom or bedroom. Zero privacy! 6) We had a constant millipede and burn worm infestation in the room and bathroom because there's nothing closing the gap under the door to keep bugs out. Absolutely disgusting! 7) There was water leaking constantly from the pergola outside our door, so we had to step out into a large pool of water every time we walked out the door, because no one has bothered to fix the leak, or to mop up the water. It's a miracle that we didn't slip and fall and break something! 8) I don't know if it was a water pump or what, but there was a constant noise, almost like a tumble dryer, followed by a very annoying beeping sound. The beeping sound went of every few minutes all through the night and it was difficult to get quality sleep. 9) Last but not least... The staff entered our bedroom, not once, but TWICE without knocking! The grounds keeper entered through the side door (which cannot lock by the way) while we were sleeping, and the cleaning lady just barged in one afternoon while I just got out of the shower and were standing there naked. I mean, seriously?? We then held back 2 out of 3 night's accommodation payment, sent the owner a message to inform him of everything we had been through in the hopes that he would apologise and write off the money we still owed - to save his reputation and the reputation of his accommodation. But we didn't even get an apology from him! Nope! Zip, zero... nothing. The only thing we got, was a very bad attitude. He just said that we were free to leave at any time, accused us of "blackmailing" him (when we said we would love to leave an honest review on Google) and then he demanded that we pay the balance of what we owed him - which we did. Although, we shouldn't have! People like him and his staff should NOT be in the hospitality business!

Absolutely loved our stay in the Sunset Cottage! The views were breathtaking, and the peaceful surroundings made for the perfect escape from the city. The self check-in and check-out process was seamless and gave us total freedom, which we really appreciated. The kitchenette was super handy, and we even had a magical visit from a spotted eagle owl one afternoon, which is very rare! The three super friendly dogs were a heartwarming bonus. Can’t wait to come back!

(Translated by Google) Room: lots of millipedes, windows couldn't be closed, door leaked. They come through everywhere, which doesn't make you feel very comfortable. We preferred to keep the travel bags closed. The bathroom was nice and clean. Tip for improvement: Dryer was defective, fuse blew, lamps in the house have loose contact and flicker in the evening. Pool was dirty, we only found out when we arrived in October that according to the house rules it can only be used December-April, it wasn't clear on the travel portal. Service: accommodating on arrival and arrival time. Location: nice view over the vineyards, but very remote, very bad gravel road with lots of deep potholes, sometimes bricks stacked on the road, dangerous for cars, especially in the dark.

Clean, modern but sparsely equipped. Lovely coffee but no bath mats or soap in shower. We were not welcomed but I presume it was because of the rain. Sadly the basin leaked and bedside lights not functional. Very noisy neighbours did not help either

(Translated by Google) We had a fantastic stay and no problems at all! The hosts were a bit difficult to reach, but that wasn't a problem for us. Check-in went smoothly, though, and the surroundings were incredible! Great room in the middle of the wine region with a fantastic view, everything was clean, and we had no problems :) (Original) Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt und überhaupt keine Probleme! Die Gastgeber waren etwas schwer zu erreichen, aber das war kein Problem für uns. Der Check In hat trotzdem prima funktioniert und die Umgebung war unglaublich! The apartment is conveniently close to Dorp Street, The Stellenbosch Village Museum, and other attractions. Guests can enjoy amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi access and on-site shopping. This place deserves more than 5 stars. Just fabulous! Location could not be more perfect, right in the heart of Stellenbosch. The unit is stylish, well equipped and practical with a great balcony to soak up the buzz of Stellies, people pasing by and so much more. Hosts were excellent and beyond made you feel welcome immediately, even had some cold refreshments in the fridge. I fell in love with this place and will return most definitely. My only regret is not staying longer.
