Seafood restaurant
The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar is an elegant and sophisticated restaurant located in Newport's historic waterfront, offering stunning views of Narragansett Harbor. Specializing in fresh, locally-sourced seafood and prime USDA steaks, the chic eatery provides a dining experience accompanied by an award-winning wine list with over 300 vintages.
The seafood is outstanding—10 out of 10! We've been to this seafood restaurant twice, and each visit has been excellent. The crab cakes were a particular highlight, and the cod was also very good. We ordered a whole lobster, and the server kindly helped us clean it, which made the experience much easier and enjoyable. The restaurant’s design is simple yet elegant. Despite being very busy during both of our visits, the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. A practical note: Parking in front of the restaurant is limited and paid, so we were lucky to find a spot. Overall, highly recommended for seafood lovers looking for a top-notch dining experience. We'll definitely be back when we're in Newport, RI again!

We had reservations for dinner for 8pm but my husband called to see if they can get us in earlier. They accommodated us at 6:15pm even though they were completely booked. We were seated on the covered deck, however the view of the Marina was covered with thick, clear plastic which they could not open up. This not only obstructed our beautiful view but also prevented the circulation of air. It did get a little stuffy. Some other guests were not thrilled about this and decided to sit indoors. Other than that, our experience at this place was excellent. The drinks were refreshing and the food was delicious. Our server Jennifer was friendly & attentive. We were treated with a free dessert and a card signed by the employees for our anniversary.

Had a great lunch here while in Newport for the day. Warm Lobster Roll was fantastic. Not that i am an expert in Lobster Rolls, but can not imagine having it any other way. Although I know some of you do. Scallop chowder was good, but to me the base made it something i could not take a lot of. My wife like it over the clam chowder, and i preferred the clam. Worked out perfectly. Madisyn was great and attentive and our seats inside over looking the water provided a wonderful atmosphere.

We had a great dinner at The Mooring! The food was excellent all around. The shrimp ceviche was fresh and flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the fish & chips were perfectly crispy with great fries. The chicken was juicy, with a bright chimichurri and creamy garlic mashed potatoes that really stood out. Our server Sharon was friendly and professional, though she tended to linger a bit long at the table. Overall, a really good experience and we’d definitely go back.

I was so excited to dine here Saturday for lunch. The food looked amazing on social media & my experience was just as great as it looked online. The seafood was delicious and fresh. The out door seating was beautiful and peaceful. When booking the reservation, I did request in the comments to be sat outside so I really appreciated that they honored that request. Our waitress Maddy was a doll. Super down to earth & consistently checked in on us. Everything was great!
Carley P — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience! We arrived on our first night here to Newport, and everyone recommended dinner at The Mooring. We had reservations for a table, but we ended up having so much fun at the bar with bartenders Nick and Matt (and patron Jim) that we decided to hang with them for the evening. From Nick’s perfect cocktails (salted caramel espresso martini and of course a classic dirty) to Matt recommending local stops to see in town on our stay, we had a great experience - not like some highfalutin place that misses out on an authentic experience. And the food recommendations were fantastic! 10/10 for us, and so much so we may go by again before our stay is over. From Nashville with love - Amanda & Jason.

Was passing through Newport and staying at the Viking Hotel. On their recommendation, stopped into The Mooring for dinner. Service was excellent. The food was phenomenal. My husband and I are from the coast and are accustomed to eating seafood. We both had scalloped dishes and agreed that they were the best scallops we have ever had. Next time we are in Newport, we will definitely be back here
Karen S — Google review
Service: We waited ~40 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. Despite being seated right by the door to the outdoor patio, we tried multiple times to flag waitstaff who either avoided eye contact or ignored us completely. Other groups that sat after us were already ordering and receiving their food. We were honestly going to leave right when the waitress came to our table. Food: The dishes we ordered were pretty good, but it's hard to say if that was partly due to how hungry we were after such a long wait. That said, the food was also on the pricey side. It's unfortunate that the overall experience was overshadowed by the poor service.

Seafood restaurant
Seafood market
Seafood wholesaler
Anthony's Seafood is a well-established seafood market in Middletown, known for its wide menu featuring chowder and stuffed clams. The assembly of their lobster roll is considered an art form, with attention to detail such as using grilled buns to prevent sogginess. As a wholesale seafood provider, Anthony's supplies its products to its retail store, restaurant, and other local venues.
Visited in early October on a Saturday , lunchtime. Place was not busy, market had steady stream of customers. We sat on the patio and it was very nice, you order inside and they bring your food and bus the tables when you leave. We both had the Cod (Fish&Chips). Food came out hot and pretty quick. It was very good the batter was well done , the fries are just normal standard fries. The inside seating is booths with a generic decor, think "Everytown House of Pizza" vibes. Value was on par with other places like this. Overall a good lunch and we will keep this on our list of places to revisit.

I guess I will be the odd one out and say this place was not great. When I go to a sea food market, I’d hope for more “non-fried” options. We ended up with Lobster Roll, calamari and Cod. The Cod was not great. We loved the lobster roll, but the pile of fries are bigger than the roll, so it’s a $30 pile of fries? I’d have given 4 stars if I just went for lobster roll, but the rest was mediocre. There is no ambiance and the staff was all with a blank face and done with the day. Not a bad dinner, not a bad place, but not worth $100 for 2 adults and 1 child. I’m surprised we were recommended this and the reviews are so high.
Brandi M — Google review
A short drive from Newport, this rustic restaurant with its seafood market and restaurant offers excellent value for money fresh seafood. We checked out what was available at the fish counter before ordering some oysters, a Rhode Island clam chowder, a New England clam chowder, hot lobster roll and fried sea scallops. We also had a root beer and lager that were recommended by the cashier that were brewed in Rhode Island. There was no table service but staff were very friendly and efficient in clearing the dishes from the table. The food was all delicious and very fresh.
William H — Google review
If you’re looking for a local nothing fancy, but delicious fried clam strips, or fresh steamers, then I’d check this restaurant out. Seating both inside and outside, as well a store that is selling fresh fish. Order first and then they’ll bring the food to your table.
Michael R — Google review
If you're in Newport, outside the city center, or you don't like touristy places, this is the place for you. The place is very simple, with no waiters. You order your food and it's served on a tray, you can eat inside or outside. They also sell fresh fish, just like they cook it for you. The service is fast and organized. The staff are friendly and kind. Everything is well organized. I recommend it if you're looking for a simple, but good, meal away from the crowd.
Luciana P — Google review
I’m sure they get more customers through the place in a day with their order before you can be seated/semi self serve policy, but it really sets a negative mood on your first visit. I’d bet the waiting staff would really appreciate better tips. It is much more of a family environment than other options though. I had a dozen oysters followed by fish and chips. The oyster weren’t shucked or washed very well. Every single one was full of grit and chunks of shell. I thought they tasted ok, but my wife disagreed. Ya’ll also gotta do something about that fish fry batter, it is absolutely unremarkable. I tried it with salt, lemon, malt vinegar, tartar sauce, hot sauce, all five together, and none of it could overcome the bland emptiness I had when biting into it. It felt like my will to live was being drained with each bite. Luckily a decent dose of their brand of Cajun seasoning on the table made it a tiny bit more palatable. The fries were great! I’m sure the normal shucker must’ve been out sick so I might give them another try, but I’ll definitely skip out on that fish fry.
Cass C — Google review
Wonderful food. I had a super tasty cream soup, as well as a hot lobster roll. The flavor was incredible, but I confess I found it small compared to the price of $27. I suggest an outside location would be super cool and pleasant.
Gustavo F — Google review
I’ve been coming to Anthony’s over the last few years and the food is always delicious and fresh. It’s a no frills spot where you order and grab a table (or take out if you want). I love their calamari and fried scallops - these will always be my go to. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for fresh seafood and a fun spot. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Oyster bar restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Midtown Oyster Bar in Newport is a seafood restaurant known for its large raw bar and creative menu. The airy, high-ceilinged space offers two decks and spacious dining rooms, including an outdoor rooftop deck. The restaurant features a variety of fresh-shucked oysters, smoked bluefish dip, Hamachi sashimi, littleneck clams, chilled shrimp, octopus tacos, and the Leviathan shared platter.
Excellent oysters. Still wish restaurants would make real chips for fish and chips but this is North America. There is a variety of seating from cozy bars to open shared tables. Very attentive service during lunch on a rainy Sunday. One must try the oyster shooters!

We came here based on a friend’s recommendation, and I’m so glad we did! Even though the restaurant was packed, we were seated within seconds of walking in (around 5 PM). The raw oysters and clams were fresh and delicious, but the lobster roll blew me away. It was warm, juicy, and loaded with a generous amount of lobster meat👌🏼 Will definitely come back for another roll. Highly recommend!

Midtown Oyster Bar is absolutely fantastic! The seafood is as fresh as it gets, and the oysters are some of the best you’ll find anywhere — perfectly shucked and full of flavor. Their menu goes beyond oysters too, with delicious seafood dishes and flavorful sides that make every visit a treat. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot whether you’re out with friends or enjoying a nice dinner. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend the best pairings. If you love seafood, Midtown Oyster Bar is a must-visit!

Very nice, missing the live music though. We’ve gone a few times in recent years, and the food is always outstanding, as is the service. The dishes always look and taste sensational. Would recommend.

In town 5 nights visiting and My wife and I were out walking and wondering where we were going to get dinner. Stopped in and looked at menu and decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar. I started with 3 oysters and they were so delicious I had to get more. We had Charred octopus (as good as it gets), wicked shrimp, lobster roll and truffled fries. Everything was fresh and exceptional. Highly recommend.
Glenn D — Google review
Midtown Oyster Bar was fantastic. They were able to accommodate a party of 12 for our family’s wedding week dinner. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious, especially their seafood tower, lobster Cobb salad, truffle fries and lobster roll! They were also able to split entrees in half for people sharing (salad picture of half split portion). Highly recommend to anyone visiting Newport.

Thank you for the great food and service. We enjoyed our 20 year anniversary and dinner at your restaurant. When we return to Newport your place is definitely on the list again! Thank you again! Great food!

We had a fabulous meal here. We were expecting “pub” food but everything was delicious. The oyster selection was incredible. The little necks were mouthwatering and the scallops were cooked to perfection! Madison our waitress was the best server we have had since moving to the US. Thank you so much!

Since its opening in 1875, it has been frequented by notable personalities like Grace Kelly and playwright Thornton Wilder. My son brought me to the restaurant where he works, and we had a wonderful meal together. Everything was truly delicious—every bite full of flavor and care. The service was excellent and incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. I also want to express my gratitude for their generous hospitality. And above all, I’m always proud of my son Jonathan. Watching him work so passionately brings me so much joy. Thank you for a memorable experience! Hi recommend this place.

The Castle Hill Inn was an elegant dining experience for lunch. I am usually apprehensive about valet, but our guy, Connor, instantly made me feel as though my car was in good hands. From there, we were sat by a beautiful hostess named Ayina who was super friendly and informed us of everything they had to offer. Once we were seated, our waitress named all of the specials they had (so many good choices) and drink specials. Everything came out perfect. Lounging on the Adirondack chairs on the grass while watching the boats is a must-do when at Castle Hill Inn. There are even some paths to get down on the rocks below. Awesome place for a date. Highly recommend.

This is a great hotel with an excellent Restaurant. The views are spectacular especially during sunset. Enjoy sitting outside and enjoy your favorite libations, bring your friends and you will see some impressive yachts sail along the coastline. You can definitely make reservations at the restaurant if you dont want to stay here, but I recommend you get a room. You can dine at two restaurants the Aurelia and the Lawn Terrace. You will definitely enjoy what this place has to offer. I highly recommend you make a visit here.

We stopped in for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and birthday and were thoroughly impressed the moment we met the valet driver. The entire staff was warm and attentive, and incredibly welcoming. Our server Kaye was polite and friendly and went out of her way to make our experience memorable! The food was delicious, flavorful and beautifully presented. The views were stunning from every angle making the whole experience that much better . We had the pleasure of dealing with your manager Brian which made our experience even more special. Brian’s dedication to providing exceptional service and his commitment to providing exceptional customer service was evident in every detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We can’t wait to come back and visit again!

[This is strictly for the restaurant!] WOW. 100/10. Go for sunset!! This is a must-see dinner spot if you are venturing to Newport area. Food, view and service were all an absolute 10/10. Cannot wait to go back another time. We went early/mid Oct so it wasn’t as crowded as it likely is in peak season but we still got there early (before 530) to get a good window seat in the dining area. The clam chowder was the best I’ve had to date. My husband ordered the duck and I’m not a big duck person but it was delicious. I also loved my turkey sandwich. And our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind.

Restaurant
The Lobster Bar is a relaxed seafood and cocktail haunt located in Newport Harbor, offering beautiful sunset views from its wooden structure and outdoor patio. The restaurant features enormous lobster tanks, giving diners a sneak peek of what's to come on their plates. Known for its huge lobster rolls, clam rolls, and classic fish sandwiches, this spot is perfect for lunch or dinner after a day at the beach.
This was our first time coming here to eat. The service was magnificent, and the food was delicious! The price is definitely reasonable for the meal, I would say it was between $35-$40 per person for a good portion of fresh lobster. They have lots of different appetizers and dish options as well. We came before the lunch rush and got a really good spot right by the water. Our waitress was attentive and kept our drinks refreshed. The food came out quickly and overall the service was very good. I highly recommend The Lobster Bar for your next meal! 🍽️
Wendy F — Google review
We had gone during a long weekend, so naturally the place was quite packed. Even with the crowd, the wait time was surprisingly short — we got a table in about 10 minutes, which was impressive. As for the food, it was definitely enjoyable. I ordered the lobster roll, and it turned out really tasty. The filling was generous, and with the French fries on the side, it was quite a hearty meal. I also tried a bite of the fish and chips — that was even more delicious, maybe because of the crispy flour coating and frying 😋. The shrimp pasta too was flavourful and hit the spot.
Amit S — Google review
This was our first visit to this seafood spot, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. Prices felt fair for the quality, and I’d definitely suggest trying the lobster roll—it was a highlight. The menu offers plenty of appetizers and entrées, so there’s something for everyone. The view of the bay was stunning, and as the sun began to set, it created such a beautiful atmosphere that we wished we had more time to stay and enjoy it. Our server was attentive, always checking in and keeping our drinks full, and the dishes came out promptly. If you’re looking for a place with great seafood, warm service, and unforgettable views, I’d highly recommend The Lobster Bar.
Natalia M — Google review
Easy and fun spot if you are looking for a restaurant with good views! We stopped in after one of the sunset sailing tours and were happy to be warmed up with some clam chowder soup. The food was okay but not amazing so this is more of a spot if you have a large party or want water front scenery as there is a ton of seating. Their lobster roll is served cold so if you aren’t a big lobster person, wouldn’t go for that. The fish and chips were fine, can’t really mess up fried fish :) would probably still go back if with a group. Service was pleasant and there’s plenty of TVs if you’re trying to catch a game.

10/25 - Here on a NE bus trip & wanted to eat someplace with a view, boy were we happy with this place. Good food, good service and the view we were looking for. The wife had crab cakes, I had the lobster roll flight (3 ways). I have to say her crab cakes were better 😁. Average beer selection with a couple of unique ones. Satisfied our needs both visually and gastronomically.
JF B — Google review
I went to eat at lunch time at a weekday and no wait or reservations needed. I got the clam chowder and fried seafood platter. The clam chowder was average nothing special but the fried clams had a weird taste. It tasted like it was not prepared properly, there was dark green and gritty substance with the clams. The other fried stuff was fine. I do not recommend getting the fried clams.
Dominic B — Google review
5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic meal and perfect coastal atmosphere. The lobster roll was fresh, generously packed with sweet lobster meat, and served on a perfectly toasted bun. The slaw on the side was crisp, light, and flavorful — a great balance to the richness of the roll. My companion’s grilled salmon was beautifully prepared — tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with asparagus, roasted tomatoes, and a bright lemon-herb sauce. Service was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating made for an ideal dining experience. Highly recommend The Lobster Bar for anyone looking for great seafood done right.

Stopped in late on a Monday for some cocktails and ended up getting the lobster Mac and cheese. It was ok. Also got the tuna poke and it was very good. The drinks were good and the lady working the bar was very friendly.

With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it's a popular choice for both locals and visitors seeking delicious food and genuine hospitality. VERY good food. We walked in on a Saturday around 6pm and had a 35 min wait for a party of 3. There are plenty of stores to walk around nearby while you wait for the text that your table is ready, The Golden BBQ Burger was amazing. We also got machacha nachos and short rib sandwich and they were good too. The service was good, the atmosphere was nice because it was a bit more low key but still great food and lots of decorations.

Newport is a happy place for my wife and I. Brick Alley is a must-visit restaurant when in town. This trip we were a party of four. Absolutely enthralling decor and always excellent service. I put a picture of all that was ordered although I can not name them all. I had the salmon which was delicious but looked a little lonely as served. If there was any shortcoming at all I would say that the menu is a bit limited. Take a look 👀 online and make sure that they have what you like. If you do visit I am sure that you will enjoy the experience. Your mileage may vary.

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant is such a great spot! The atmosphere is warm, lively, and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual meal or gathering with friends. The highlight for me was definitely the clam chowder—so rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. It’s an absolute must-try! 👍 The menu has a wide variety of options, and everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. If you’re in Newport, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant in Newport, RI is a lively and welcoming spot that blends classic charm with a fun, casual vibe. Located on Thames Street, it’s perfect for families, date nights, or just grabbing a drink with friends. The menu is huge think award winning burgers, fresh seafood, pastas, and even a lobster roll voted one of the best in America. Inside, the decor is packed with antiques, sports memorabilia, and even an old Chevy truck, giving it a nostalgic feel. The staff are friendly, the portions are generous, and the energy is always upbeat. It’s a true Newport favorite.

We stumbled upon The Brick Alley Pub thanks to a great recommendation from our trolley driver, Rob—and what a find! This place is bursting with eclectic charm, packed with fun antique memorabilia on every wall. It’s like walking into a cozy museum-meets-pub—there’s something to admire in every corner. The bar area is separated so perfect if you have small Kids too! Despite being pressed for time (we had a return water taxi scheduled for our cruise), our server was incredibly accommodating. We let her know we had only an hour, and she made sure everything was smooth and efficient without making us feel rushed. We started with their famous beef nachos, which were absolutely delicious—layers of crispy chips, melted cheese, and perfectly seasoned beef. My friends opted for the all-you-can-eat salad bar, which was impressively stocked with a huge variety of fresh toppings, dressings, and sides. A true salad-lover’s dream! I ordered their award-winning Lobster Salad Sandwich, served cold as recommended. It did not disappoint—light, flavorful, and loaded with fresh lobster meat. It came with classic coleslaw and a side of sweet potato fries, which were perfectly crispy and just the right amount of sweet. Before heading out, we also grabbed a few tee-shirts for our husbands—a fun way to support local businesses and take home something memorable. Little souvenirs like that always make vacations last just a bit longer when you’re back home. If you’re in Newport and looking for a spot that’s full of personality, local flavor, fantastic bar area and great food, I highly recommend stopping in at The Brick Alley Pub. It’s now one of my favorite hidden gems from the trip!

Don’t let the ugly yellow awning fool you, this place is a must-visit! Portions are huge and food is delicious. Whether it be nachos, fried mozzarella, turkey club, fish and chips or a burger, you can’t go wrong! There is something for everyone. Service is also great, never have to flag down wait staff for refills, etc. I recommend making a reservation - Thames St. is a very busy area and there is usually a wait.

When it was our turn to have a break for lunch from our tour, we decided to stop by and try them out. It sure did not disappoint and it is one of the bigger restaurants in historic Newport. We were seated almost right away and our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered food and it arrived pretty fast. We got the cheeseburger and the smoked turkey club, both delish, fresh and tasty. A good option in historic Newport.

The lobster Mac. And cheese was creamy, and packed with lobster. The bisque was velvety and flavorful, and the clams were spot on. This place knows seafood! Be warned: the line gets long on weekends, so definitely book ahead. Totally worth it

Flo's Clam Shack is a classic New England seafood stop that has been serving beachgoers for nearly a century. Located conveniently on Eastons Beach, it offers a no-frills experience with counter service and an upstairs raw bar. The rooftop deck provides a perfect setting to savor fried clam strips, oysters, calamari, lobster rolls, and local favorites like stuffed quahogs and Rhode Island-style clam chowder.
I’m not a sea food lover, but OMG this place makes me want more! The Clam cakes are amazing! And the fried calamari too! The place is welcoming and the staff are very friendly. Definitely 💯 recommend!

The best of the best. We got there when it first opened to avoid any lines and quickly ordered the Large Chowda and the Fisherman’s Plate. The chowda options were regular, creamy, and spicy we ended up going for a creamy and it was a bit soupier than expected. Aside from that there were heaps of clams and potatoes loaded in. Extremely well flavored and not too heavy for the weather. The fisherman’s platter is more than advertised with heaping amounts of fried clams, some scallops, calamari, shrimp and chunk of fish. All the seafood is so fresh and fried well and pair perfectly with their tartar sauce.

If you're in Rhode Island, you gotta stop by Flo's. Their famous fried clams and lobster rolls were exactly what I was looking for when I was craving seafood. The fiery stuffed quahog is also a tasty sidedish along with the clam chowder.
Jonathan O — Google review
The crabby cake sandwich was quite good. Chowder was runny even though we asked for creamy. Calamari was decent. My rating is based on how this venue performed relative to my expections for seafood restaurant food at the price I paid.

Flo’s Clam Shack is a must-visit! The lobster roll was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is laid-back and coastal, giving you that true seaside dining experience. Great food, great vibes, and an all-around fantastic place to enjoy seafood!

Wow! What a great find!!! Food was amazing, ocean views were great and prices can’t be beat. No wonder they win so many awards. The combo specials are amazing. Or feted the fish sandwich and it hung out both sides of the bun by at least two inches.

Awesome spot for seafood. Lobster roll was excellent. Views from the balcony are great, especially at sunset

Would not recommend a lobster roll here. I requested drawn butter, there was no butter and the bun was soggy. Not appetizing, very disappointed. Was not expecting this especially for the price of 37$.

Newport Lobster Shack is a laid-back eatery located on State Pier 9 along Washington Street, offering a true dockside dining experience. The kitchen serves up an array of seafood dishes including lobster rolls, strips, stuffies, fried fish, and lobster bisque using the freshest catch from the fisherman's co-operative. Additionally, there's a live market where patrons can purchase fresh seafood to prepare at home.
Loved it! Best lobster roll in town. Don't bother going anywhere else. Line moves pretty quick so don't be scared of that either. Seriously the best. Cole slaw is great too!

all good... do you want to eat a lobster, simple on a wooden table in front of the fishing boats? This is your place, competitive price compared to the places in the center which are a few minutes away, highly recommended, shame it closes in the afternoon so for dinner you have to find another place

The food is A+ we have been here many times every year and it has never disappointed!!! It is best sea food in world when it comes to fish and chips, lobster rolls, lobster bites! The food is so clean, delicious, good prices and staff are so friendly. Also the spot is nice right next to water. We love it and will come back next year again.

Might be the best deal you're going to get on a lobster roll in Newport. And it's quite good, of course. We also got the fish sandwich, which was excellent! Very fresh fish, super-thin, super-crispy, and nearly greaseless batter coating. So fresh out of the fryer that you could burn yourself on the tender moist fish. I'll bet their fish and chips are spectacular. A nice view of the harbor here, too.

Got the lobster roll, was good! Just not as flavorful as I personally like. Fast service, nice set up, good views. The clam chowder was pretty good too!

This food stand is locals favorite and was recommended by locals. The lobsters are fresh from the port and they cooked your food there. Maybe a bit on the pricey side but the freshness and taste are amazing and worth it.

Benjamin's Raw Bar is a cozy and casual three-level restaurant offering steak, seafood, and scenic bay views. The menu features a raw bar and delicious cocktails. Guests can enjoy generous portions of delectable dishes such as clam chowder, garlic bread, calamari with optional hot peppers, Fisherman's Platter, Rhode Island Clam Chowder, and Black Sea Bass. The attentive service adds to the enjoyable dining experience.
This is officially my favorite spot in Newport. I love that it is budget friendly while getting the scenic views of Thames street. Their lobster quesadilla is to die for, it’s very cheese and they did not hold back on the meat. I ordered a lobster roll and my husband ordered the rock sol. It was filled with crab me and so creamy. We ordered the island punch and it was the perfect kick. Definitely a must to try.

The oysters are freaking delicious — huge, fresh, and full of flavor! You can tell they take pride in their seafood. I even saw plenty of Grand Marnier behind the bar for anyone who likes a good drink. The bartender shucked my oysters and clams perfectly. Great service and atmosphere — I’ll definitely be back!

I’m born and raised in Newport and this is one of the places I usually eat at when I visit home. I always eat upstairs not downstairs btw. The lobster bisque may be the best I’ve ever had, the steamers were magnificent, my wife and daughter loved the oysters. And the seafood past always great too!! My only complaint is we ordered mules and they came in regular glass cups (never had that happen before) & it didn’t taste anything like a mule. Other than that this review would’ve been an easy 5 stars ⭐️

10/25 - In town as part of our NE bus trip. Arrived around 4:00 on a Saturday & Benjamin's was the only place we could find that would take a reservation for 9. We went up the stairs to find a wonderful place, great atmosphere, attentive staff, reasonable prices . The wife & I split the stuffed rock sole & a crab cake, both were very good and more than enough food. In fact, there wasn't anyone in our group that finished their whole meal. Beer selection was a little limited outside of the usual suspects. The place got to be full of people and so did the noise level, but don't let that keep you from eating here.

In Newport for a night and wanted to try an authentic lobster roll and clam chowder while I’m here. Looked around Google Maps and happened upon a few in the area but decided on Benjamin’s because it looked reasonable. There are two entrances. The street level pub/bar and a quieter restaurant setting up the stairs. I opted for the quieter setting. Very cozy and inviting. Was greeted immediately by the friendly staff. Ordered the New England Clam Chowder and hot Lobster Roll. The chowder was delicious. I was surprised by the tangy taste. The lobster roll was stuffed to the gills in its toasted roll. YUM!! I wished it had a more buttery taste to it but still delicious. Fries and a huge amount of Cole slaw accompanies the roll. Nice friendly staff and lovely ambience. Glad I found this place. I’d come back if I’m ever in Newport again.
Lisa L — Google review
I made the mistake of sitting on the bar instead of going upstairs. If you want a more quiet and intimate experience, please go upstairs. The food is good, but they brought my plate cold, which I didn't appreciate. They reheated it when I asked and were very apologetic about it. I recommend their Mac and cheese.

A very pleasant experience: I had the Seafood Linguini in a wine/garlic broth. It was a large bowl of linguini with quite a lot of very tasty garlicky broth, some large scallops, large shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari, and large chunks of fish, all perfectly cooked. My wife had the Berry Salad, which is a good sized salad garnished with strawberries and blueberries, and topped with roasted shrimp and half a small lobster. Again, perfectly prepared.

This place is a hidden gem in Newport! The food is always fresh, delicious, great quality, and so reasonably priced compared to other restaurants around the area. Did I mention the daily buck a shuck from 12-2 for a $1.50 and all day half off apps and buck a shuck oysters and little necks on Tuesdays? They have everything from on the menu from land to sea!

Located in the bustling Bowen's Wharf, Luke's Lobster Newport is an iconic seafood restaurant offering Maine-style lobster rolls with toasted buns and clam chowder. The heaping piles of fresh lobster, crab, and shrimp on buttered rolls are topped with a special blend of spices. Customers can enjoy a delicious meal while meandering through the wharf for a claw-fully good time. The friendly staff provides incredibly nice service and goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
As we were figuring out where we can eat in the area on a busy Friday evening without reservations in a highly rated restaurant, Luke’s Lobster came up on a google map. After reading all the reviews i got interested and we decided to trade our wishful thinking of having a fancy dinner in to just getting the lobster rolls from this place for to go. And it didn’t disappoint!!! The lobster rolls were amazing, the portions were great, and the price ($40 for each oder that you see on the pictures) was reasonable. The Flight and the Mainer comes with a bag of chips and a drink which was a nice addition. I recommend trying the lemonade on one of my pictures. I typically drink nothing but water but this lemonade was very light and yummy. As we were like “oh, where are we going to sit down to eat these rolls”, the staff pointed to a few tables with umbrellas that they have for customers. Perfect service, perfect food, quick and satisfying! Great job, Luke’s Lobster! 👏🙌😍

I’m so glad I chose Luke’s Lobster for my lobster roll experience while in Newport! I added the hot honey butter and it was sooo good. Also great that each roll comes with chips & a drink. I also want to mention that I left a shopping bag at the communal sitting area and almost 2 hours later went back and they had my bag! I thought for sure it would be gone. Very friendly people and the perfect atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Always looking for new places with gluten-free options, and I’m so glad we made the drive to Luke’s Lobster in Newport. The food was excellent—I got the lobster roll flight which included lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter. Each one was delicious and packed with flavor. I informed Patrick that I have a gluten allergy, and he was extremely professional. He let me know he’s certified in allergy handling and took precautions like cleaning surfaces and changing gloves before preparing my order. While they are gluten friendly (so there is still a small risk of cross-contamination), they treated my order with care, and I felt safe eating there. I also tried the gluten-free clam chowder and poppyseed coleslaw—both were fantastic. Great food, thoughtful service, and overall a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back!

One the best lobster roll and chowder soup! It is a small batch — handcrafted kitchen so be prepared to get lost in the flavors of the ocean. Great service as well. They have tables cross the street to sit down. We ordered our rolls warmed up in a butter bath and it was heavenly good!! Make sure to order 8oz so you wont have to go back for seconds. Get your lobstah on at Luke’s!

I could see why this place has incredible reviews. Started off with the flight to try a little bit of everything and ended up going back that same night to get another truffle butter roll. The lobster roll was the best one I’ve had. Warmed up with butter was the goat. Id come back here any day of the week for another roll. The service was great, staff was nice and you get a drink and chips with your meal too.

Busy area with lots of options to choose from, decided to try Luke’s as we didn’t really want to seat at a restaurant. You’ll order from the little window and seat across, they’ll bring you the food to the few tables they have. The lobster roll was magnificent, warm bread and buttery lobster, just the perfect texture and the right flavor. It comes with a delicious pickle, chips and a drink (try the blueberry lemonade). You can’t go wrong with ordering a cup of chowder, it was creamy and very appetizing.

This is the best lobster roll I’ve had in my life . Perfectly toasted bun and got mine warm. Highly recommend. Was made to order and just a killer roll . Staff was really friendly and made the roll quick to order

The chilled 8 oz lobster roll was huge and delicious with fresh, large pieces of lobster. It was not too mayonnaise-y at all, as only the bun was coated with mayo and butter—which was also flavorful. The meal came with a side Cape Cod chips, choices being regular and salt & vinegar, and a drink. Pro-tip: try the Maine blueberry lemonade!

The staff was very friendly and helpful with their recommendations. The warm Lobster roll and seafood chowder were amazing. Good portion for the price. ***We also tried their secret menu item: Kitchen Sink Chips at the recommendation of the staff. It was amazing. Tried the Roll & Bowl combo (lobster roll + clam chowder) and both were awesome! The lobster roll was loaded with fresh lobster and the chowder had plenty of seafood with tons of flavor. The spot itself is small with casual outdoor seating, but don’t let that fool you. The food is seriously good. Definitely worth a stop!

I needed something quick before the ferry to Rose Island. This had good reviews. Selected a lemonade and the roll and bowl. Picked the Connecticut roll (hot lobster roll). The clerk was charming, polite, and funny. She gave me some directions too. The roll was mouthwateringly good. The chowder was good but I wish I’d added salt and hot sauce. I may go back for another roll on my way back through. Definitely a good place. And it was fast. Covered seating but it’s really an outdoor place.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I found this place because of its reviews so I thought it only fair to return the favor! I was in Newport for three days and ate here three days in a row! The service was great and the food was incredible. On my last day, I met the owner Kate. She shared the story of how her late mom won multiple awards for her chowder recipe. Kate then started this business during Covid - first as food trucks then as a permanent establishment. The setting was authentic that you would have expected it to be there for years. They even sell seasoning for you to make it at home!

I had the hot lobster roll at The Newport Chowder Co in Newport, RI, and it was absolutely incredible! It came loaded with big, juicy chunks of fresh lobster, all tucked into a perfectly toasted, buttery brioche bun—so flavorful and satisfying. The service was excellent—friendly, fast, and attentive. The price felt fair for the quality, though I do think it would be even better if they included a small side of coleslaw or chips with the roll. Still, no complaints here—this spot is a must-visit if you’re in Newport. Highly recommend!

I liked the style, the food and the atmosphere. I got the grilled swordfish blackened and it was very delicious. My wife got the lobster and shrimp pasta and it has a lot of lobster chunks in it, all great. The clam chowder was also a highlight. The menu stated it is award winning with the recipe also containing dill. It sounded interesting and exceeded my expectations in every way. The dill works so well and the clam was very tender, so far the best clam chowder I've had. We really liked it and are glad we visited.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Red Parrot! Although some say it’s too touristy I think it is worth the trip. We had a group of five and everyone was extremely satisfied with their lunches. My mother had the coconut shrimp and was very happy with the sweet and light batter. She opted for honey mustard dipping sauce as she does not like any heat whatsoever and thought the sweet and spicy dipping sauce might be too much for her (the honey mustard was one of the best I’ve tried. My sister had the taziki pasta with Kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, chopped tomatoes and chicken. It was very light on the protein but the taste and pasta portion were great. Dad got the Coco Loco Coconut shrimp wrap. Flavor and portion size were great but he said there was maybe two piece of shrimp. The sweet potato waffle fries were a huge hit and not one remained in the basket! Everyone was very happy with the only improvement noted was that for the price the protein portions should be “beefed” up a bit.

White Horse Tavern, dating back to 1673, is the oldest and possibly most haunted tavern in America. It has served as a courthouse, meeting place for various groups, and a private residence. The historic setting features creaky wide-plank floors, original beams, glowing sconces, and multiple hearths that create an atmosphere reminiscent of its early days. Visitors can dine in the main dining room or on the second floor with views worth navigating the narrow staircase for.
Scotch eggs were about as flavorful and perfectly cooked as you can expect. Clam chowder was excellent. We also ordered endive salad blackened sword fish and beef Wellington. Bread pudding and candy bar rounded out the meal. Smokey Old fashioned to start. Everything was impeccably prepared. Best meal we had for this trip. Service was warm and attentive.

We visited here from out of state with high expectations. Every single one of them was exceeded. Good wine selection and great service. Make sure you make a reservation! The dress code is clearly unenforced but perhaps it varies depending on different times of the night or who is hosting. My preference is just to commit to one of them, either drop the dress code or enforce it. Include a note with the reservation, & put up a sign outside so it is harder to claim ignorance regarding the website info. The field greens had an exquisite minty + turmeric taste with candied nuts and it was a perfect appetizer! The lobster ravioli and lobster bisque are similar so make sure you want them both if ordering both. The duck legs were crispy on the outside and they were so good! Would recommend going early so you can park in their free parking lot, I’m sure it gets full. One of the dining rooms is upstairs so be sure to request what you need in advance.

Excellent restaurant which is also the oldest tavern in America. Lot of history, beautiful stories and architecture. Really nice old woody feel. Lovely service and staff who are friendly. Highly recommend you book in advance guys it gets full fast. We have been three times on three different trips. The food is nice but not overwhelmingly good. The best dishes were the Brussels sprouts aide dish- must have! Also the dessert mousse was amazing!! The duck chicken and steak were 7/10.

I will just say - when George Washington walked into this tavern, it was already 100 years old! If that isn’t enough to pique your curiosity and your desire to visit this iconic restaurant, then let me tempt you further. The wine selection is impressive; the food (don’t miss the Beef Wellington) is delicious; and the service is impeccable!. Still not convinced? The staff is welcoming and gracious - and the bartender pours the perfect Rusty Nail! Still need more? Our reservations kept changing (our fault - NOT theirs) - but Bill and Ryan were superb and accommodating. We were celebrating a birthday - and the owners of the Golden Steer Las Vegas were in our party (no pressure 🙃). It could not have been a more exciting or grander memory! If you have not dined at the White Horse Tavern, then it’s high time you did. You will not be disappointed - and who knows? … you may just walk in George’s exact footsteps!

The food was delicious! We ordered the lobster ravioli, scallops, oysters, and lobster soup. The portions were generous and everything tasted great. The house/restaurant is super cute. It’s white table, but doesn’t need to be. The food and service do not match the vibe. The scotch egg was delish. The clam chowder was simple but lacked salt and pepper. I had a chicken dish that was rather bland. The veggie plate was nothing to write home about. Very simple and basic. Our waitress was not attentive. She told us the specials and walked away—we were ready to order by that time. She was covering at least 5 tables. Again, doesn’t match the fine(r) dining vibe. We had to ask the food runner for more to drinks because it was completely out. I would not recommend this place.

Located at Bannisters Wharf, Clarke Cooke House offers a mix of casual and formal dining options in an 18th-century building. The upscale dining room serves fancy New England cuisine, while the Candy Store/Bistro provides a more relaxed atmosphere with simple New England fare. With its proud sailing history and iconic Americas Cup races, Newport is an ideal destination for nautical getaways, especially during the summer and fall seasons.
Great spot. We had the crab cake to start, loaded with crab and no filler. I had the pepper crusted tuna, cooked just right, and my son had penne almond chicken he didn’t leave a bite. Finished with the famous Snowball for dessert. It is that good. Cool atmosphere, great service, not too stuffy. Would definitely come back.

We came here at 1pm on a Wednesday in early Aug 2025. We sat alongside of the entrance to enjoy the beautiful weather and hustle and bustle of the wharf. Our waitress was great. She was prompt. Drinks were quick to arrive and stay topped off. We wanted a snack and not lunch, so oysters and heirloom tomato with burrata salad was just enough. Everything was so fresh. The chefs choice oysters were buttery and delicious, and the salad, bright, sweet, and the perfect partner to a beautiful summer day. Can’t wait to return!
John R — Google review
The service here was not the best, the waitress couldn’t give me descriptions of ANY of their oysters, I was pretty disappointed, however I still ordered an assortment of oysters as an appetizer and then the lobster roll has my meal. Overall the food was pretty good. Luckily my friend and I had the pleasure of sitting right next to the water! Don’t know that I would recommend this place to anyone but glad I walked in & gave it a try!

5 stars all around! This place is delicious! Off-season, Wednesday night October, and it was packed. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended daily oyster selection and the clam chowder. I enjoyed the featured halibut…. Not sure how often that makes the menu, but if you see it, try it! And save room for the snowball from hell. It’s worth it! Met the GM who graciously gave us a tour and treated us like celebrities. I wish we had more time here… I’d eat here everyday!

While we were walking around the harbor in Newport, we wanted to grab a drink. When we walked by, it looked like a nice and fun place. We asked if we could sit at the bar and we were able to find two seats. There were locals and visitors alike, and we could tell we found a gem. Kevin the bartender was friendly, attentive, and made great drinks! When he left his shift, Shawn took over and made sure to keep our water glasses full. We’re so glad we stopped by that afternoon!

We came here after seeing the funny video of the assistant AG getting arrested for trespassing lol. We absolutely loved it here. The service was comfortable and not overbearing but right on time. The food was delicious! Also, every course came at the perfect time. The view of the harbor is beautiful. There’s a nautical old money feeling with surprisingly nice prices, especially for the best dinner in newport. Ultimately a great experience with no complaints. Hopefully next time we get to witness an AG be arrested.

Enjoyed a burger with my cousin who came from Dallas to visit. Atmosphere was good and there was a pianist playing (?) above us. It was a bit loud in there between the patrons and music but it was a Sunday and it was full of people enjoying brunch. Slightly snobby attitude from the hostess when greeted and seated but our waitress was good for the most part. I would have preferred a slightly shorter amount of time in between check ins and when it was time to ask for the check we were waiting for her return for a bit too long. Burger was cooked perfectly to order, medium well, and the fries has the exact crunch on the edges and tenderness on the inside. No soggy fries here. It came with a pickle on the side. There is a slight walk from the parking area but considering this is Newport, you have to find parking and it's all paid parking from what I could see.

I haven’t had a dinner this great in years. I hope everyone has the same experience as me. If you enjoy any type of tuna tartare, I suggest you try this one. Best I have ever had in my life.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Newport, Scales & Shells is a beloved seafood haven that has been delighting diners for over 30 years. This charming eatery features a bi-level, open-kitchen design where you can savor mesquite-grilled fish and delectable vegetarian pastas alongside an enticing raw bar. The focus here is on fresh, Italian-inspired dishes crafted with care by local residents Deborah and Andrew Ackerman.
Being a NYer that lives close enough to travel to Little Italy in NYC, we can be pretty particular and fussy about our food. ESPECIALLY about our Italian pasta restaurants and seafood. This place was recommended and booked for me on behalf of the nearby Vanderbilt hotel. I'm glad I came out of my shell and shelled out here instead of eating at the hotel. So, let’s talk about the food. I had the Bibb Lettuce salad, the linguine and Seared Scallops with Togarashi. So let’s get it started with the salad. It’s par for the course and good to start off with. It’s nothing to hype about. Don’t worry, things get better and appetizing, I promise. The scallops and linguine were definitely something that should be of note. Both were a delectable delight, especially the linguine. The linguine had clams and was made with a white wine sauce. The seared scallops were nice, soft and spongy. They weren’t overcooked or rubbery in texture. They were basically cooked and seared to perfection. The sauces made the seafood flavor pop and weren't overwhelming. The edamame was a good pairing to help with the scallop’s flavor profile. So in closing, it’s time to Shell out a 5 Star review for 5 Star service. A special shout out goes out to Kylie who was an excellent and attentive waitress and the bearded bloke in the blue blazer that came to check in on my mom and I. He must have been the manager. I didn’t catch his name, but he did come in to check and see if my mom and I were enjoying our food. Bring Your Appetite and Be Impressed because I was. When I visit this town again, I will definitely be stopping by Scales and Shells for another plate of perfection. The only negative gripe that I have is that I wish that they would open earlier.

Always have loved the experience here; excellent service, and the freshest, most delicious seafood dishes. House made bread and pasta take it over the top, and the raw bar is exceptional.

We had our post-wedding dinner at Scales and Shells in Newport and it was absolutely amazing! The manager and staff were wonderful to work with—so accommodating and attentive throughout the entire process. I was able to customize our menu, which made the night feel even more personal and special. They were also accommodating with decorating, which I premade, and set up for the tiny details. We reserved the upstairs space, and it was perfect—cozy, elegant, and just the right atmosphere for our celebration. Our guests loved it, and we had such a memorable time. I would highly recommend Scales and Shells for anyone looking for an incredible dining experience in Newport!

We ordered the warm lobster roll and the shrimp scampi with linguine. The lobster roll was good but the portion was small for the price. The shrimp scampi was tasty. Service was efficient. The restaurant has great ambience. There were both bar and table seatings.

Really nice place, very attentive and hospitable staff. Food was amazing! I had the burrata appetizer and the grilled swordfish entree. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town!
Lourdes T — Google review
The oysters and shrimp were perfect, and all the food was really good. However, it’s hard to give 5 stars because the service was just okay and the environment could be better. Also, I ordered a white wine listed at $42 but was charged $50. You really have to double-check your bill here, since mistakes seem to happen often. The food itself, though, was definitely good.
Hwany K — Google review
We had the Caesar, crudo, sourdough, tuna and salmon. Everything was mind blowing except for the crudo, which was a good sashimi with some oil. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. The sourdough butter was salty Thanksgiving seasoning heaven. The Caesar was one the best, each bite was perfect. The crudo (sashimi) was basic the fish was good and fresh but we would have skipped it next time. The tuna and salmon entrees were incredible. Not sure if I’ve ever had a better cooked salmon. Crispy char, with a flaking moist interior. We have (2) notes. We wish there was a door on the back of house; we had inline view of the dishwashing station and bright fluorescent light, maybe some curtains. Also every person that walked into the far door was confused where the host stand. They eventually figured it out, but maybe a sign directing or close the door entirely. We wish we lived closer so we revisit time and time again. We will be back.

We had dinner there last night. One of the worst meals I've had dining out in a long time. Shrimp Scampi was served cold, 5 very dry shrimp on a cold bed of pasta with a bland sauce that was lacking in flavor and presentation. My wife's linguini with clam sauce was almost as bad. The focaccia bread was good as were the martini's. The server and staff seemed to be in a hurry to close down - the food came out within 5 minutes of being ordered (can't be freshly made to order that fast), the staff was cleaning and sweeping around us as we were eating. We felt super rushed. From the time we sat down at 8pm, we were done, paid and out the door at 8:35pm. We ate here 3 years ago and it was much better. It was bad. Never again.

Pasta Beach Newport is a charming spot known for its intimate ambiance and delicious pasta dishes dressed in homemade sauces, as well as gourmet thin-crust pies and focaccia panini. The restaurant, owned by the Ropolo family, offers a classic Italian dish called Spaghetti alle Vongole, featuring small and flavorful Italian clams that evoke memories of the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
Pasta Beach in Newport was excellent. I had the gnocchi and the ravioli, both were delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was on point. Easily one of the best Italian meals I’ve had in a while. I’ll be coming back. Five stars.

Pretty good experience! Some of the food fell a little flat but the sausage and smoked mozzarella pasta was incredible. Service was good and attentive. Atmosphere was a little cluttered feeling, but maybe that's because it was during the day. Would go back again just for that pasta dish.

We came here for an early Friday dinner. The carbonara was amazing. The watermelon salad was very good. The vodka pasta was good but didn’t taste like typical vodka sauce that I was expecting. My daughter enjoyed the pepperoni pizza. I was not a fan of the ricotta dip or the meatballs.
Nicole M — Google review
The service and atmosphere was good and everyone was nice. We got salad, confit potatoes, cacio e pepe and creme brulee. The cacio e pepe was okay. Maybw it was because we requested to get all the stuff together, so the pasta started clumping up as it cooled. Other than that, everything was pretty good!

Tasty Italian dishes, but on the higher end of the price range. The appetizer of Burrata was amazing and the lasagna was delicious and served in a huge portion. The food was fast, but service could have been better.
Lee S — Google review
The decor inside is very nice. The pizza was completely soggy and oily (as you can see in the picture), the pasta was very bland/under seasoned/overcooked considering the price, waste of money. On top of that, the specified complementary bread on the menu wasn't served to us until we asked about it, and recieved a sigh from the server for asking, but it seemed our server Emily was capable of providing it to the tables around us. Mind you they weren't even busy, we were like the 5th table there.

Unfortunately, this place disappointed us. We came to the city for special occasion, but mood of the waitress ruined our day. She was kind of rude and “unhappy” to work with us. Vine was served in plastic cup… and whiskey in regular vodka shot…. We asked not to serve us a tap water, but our voices weren’t heard. Oil bottle had broken and had the part inside

One star and that’s just for the drink. The pizza Quattro was a full-blown dairy crisis. Cheese so thick The tuna? I don’t know what part of the fish that was. The pasta came with frozen peas that tasted like they hadn’t emotionally thawed since Gilded age maximum regret. The staff I didn’t know I booked a speed-dining experience. was mid-meal, drink still full, fork in hand and a staff member comes over to ask if we want the bill.

They were welcoming, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt safe, comfortable, and had a fantastic time. Their passion for sailing was contagious! Whether explaining points of interest, sharing sailing tips, or simply sharing stories with big smiles, their warmth made the trip. The boat was immaculate, the atmosphere was relaxed yet exciting, and the whole outing felt effortless and luxurious. If you're looking for a fun, memorable, and perfectly executed sailing adventure with the friendliest crew imaginable, this is it! We couldn't stop grinning!

Love the festivals at Bowens wharf. Right in the center of Newport. On the water with bars and food, perfect location. Oyster fest and the Seafood fest are a blast with live bands and seafood. Shout out to Dudemanbro and Timeless, two of our favorite bands. Fourth of July is so nice with the fireworks and celebrations. Love taking the sailboat and rum runner sunsets tours. Great stop on the bike tour! Shout out to the Landing for the great live music and water views. So many places to explore and try out on the wharf. Parking is always a challenge in Newport, highly recommend taking bikes from bike path or ferry from Jamestown.

Perro Salado is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located on Charles Street, offering a festive atmosphere and locally inspired dishes. The menu features gourmet tacos, flavorful moles, and tequila flights. The outdoor patio provides a charming setting beneath colorful string lights and a pergola. Signature dishes like sticky pork ribs and battered fish tacos are complemented by top-notch margaritas.
Was hesitant to try Mexican food in Newport but this looked a bit upscale and didn’t disappoint. Unique take on some dishes with a local twist. Clearly fresh ingredients. Chips and salsa and guacamole were a huge portion and delicious. Margaritas were super tasty and came in many flavors. Went with the duck tacos which were stellar but could have used a third taco for that price. Server was great, she was patient and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and it’s obviously popular being so busy on a Tuesday night in late October. I’d say the only downside is the 1% addition to your bill for kitchen staff. I get the message and purpose but why not just pay your staff more rather than forcing your customers to subsidize your payroll?

I’m sorry that I don’t have food pics…those blood orange margaritas took over! Lol. Get the pitcher. Trust me. Sticky wings are the bomb. Anything you eat here is delicious. It’s a must whenever we are in town.

Great vibe, pretty small place, very low lighting with loads of ambient lights/candles. Neat artwork & decor. We had a nice table situated near the patio, close enough for fresh air & to hear the live music but not too loud. Overall though the noise level is pretty up there, as this restaurant is in a very old structure. Cucumber marg & blood orange marg very yummy. Excellent & friendly service, attentiveness perfect. Duck tacos A+. Salmon was overcooked (catering to the masses?), but the flavor of the tajin roasted potatoes & roasted carrots more than made up for it. If you like salmon cooked this much & would order it, it’s enough for at least two people. Nice experience overall, glad we went during our short stay here while we’re trying to sample multiple places!

Amazing dinner all around. Great atmosphere, service, and food! Guac app was good portion and very tasty, sticky ribs were INCREDIBLE, and duck tacos were A+ and also great portions. We split a pitcher of spicy watermelon margs, so good. We all left full and happy! They were also very accommodating for my gf who was celiac and had plenty of gluten free options for her including gluten free chips

Food are delicious, service really bad: waiter should be taught how to serve people and show more respect for the diners. Another thing: They gave me dirty water with residue.

Found this place by chance because we’re in town for 5 nights and it’s right behind the Jailhouse Inn where we’re staying. We were tired of traveling so we decided to have dinner there due to proximity. What a hidden gem. Everything was exceptional with good food, service and atmosphere. Live band playing and not overly loud and relaxing. Love the unique menu items: avocado fries and sticky ribs as examples were amazing. Tamarind beef burrito and empanadas top notch. If I lived around here this would be a regular go to place.

O'Brien's Pub, situated at 501 Thames Street, is a popular spot known for its all-ages garden patio, pool tables, TVs, and live music. The pub offers an array of sandwich options including the highly sought-after lobster roll made with knuckle and claw meat blended with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Other menu highlights include Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich, veggie wrap, vegetarian burger, classic burgers and sandwiches.
Perfect “all around” spot on Thames St that has the best outdoor atmosphere on a street packed with excellent restaurants and stores. We sat in the outdoor patio area with two kids, we shared some great apps specifically the humus player was great and full sized to really share. Food was good and great for a family with plenty of options. Highly recommend here when you’re looking to get a good value and easy food service in between more posh restaurants that are very particular in their food and style.

Good outdoor patio. Great drinks, food, and music in the afternoon. The service was non-existent. The wait staff were standing around vs attending to tables. The restaurant was practically empty due to rain, but no wait staff at the high tops. Ended up going to the bar to order drinks and food. The frozen mudslide with a floater was great as was the veggie burger. I would recommend them both. There is a great pond in the center for kids to play and catch plastic fish toys. Do not sit at the high tops unless you are using the bar for service. The bartenders were great, but the wait staff definitely needs training in customer service.

if you’re considering eating here, JUST DO IT. the clam chowder, lobster roll, and mudslides are so delicious. we also ordered shrimp curry and the jerk chicken, which if you can handle spice you should order. our waitress told us that the chef was Jamaican, so really flavorful delicious food. the atmosphere is so nice in the spring/summer with the outdoor seating. we sat next to the water fountain with rubber duckies!! and the mudslides tasted like spiked McFlurries. if i could rate this place higher, i would. 10/10 recommend.

What a spot! Walking in, the views were lovely and the seating areas were so chic. The staff were super friendly even while they were busy. Then, to top it all off, our brunch was so yummy. Baby was happy with his pancakes, and we were with the crab cake benedict and yardbird panini. But my favorite part of the meal? The french toast muffin- even had to grab one to go!

Belle’s is an absolute gem! The chowder is rich, flavorful, and simply delicious. The bread is perfectly baked — light, fluffy, and full of flavor. A Must-Visit Breakfast Spot in Newport! Belle’s Café Never Disappoints! We come to Newport every year for the Seafood Festival at Bowen’s Wharf and love trying new places to eat, but breakfast at Belle’s Café is a tradition we never skip. From the moment you arrive, the setting is something special: tucked right into the shipyard, surrounded by jaw-dropping luxury yachts being worked on. The scale of these vessels is truly something to behold — it’s like breakfast with a view and an experience. The food? Absolutely fantastic. The crab cake eggs Benedict is a personal favorite, rich, flavorful, and consistently perfect every time. The avocado toast is also incredible. Belle’s knows how to start your day right. And the customer service is next-level. This visit, I casually asked our waitress if she knew where I could find an aspirin nearby, and she offered me one of her own. That kind of genuine kindness and hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. If you’re in Newport and not eating at Belle’s, you’re truly missing out on one of the best breakfast experiences in town. We can’t wait to return!

Came here for brunch and had a great time! There was a little downside—a shipment of fish on the marina left a bit of a smell in the air (totally out of their control), and since we were walk-ins, we had to wait a little while to be seated. Once we were in, though, everything was fantastic. Our waitress was super pleasant and made us feel welcome right away. And seriously—get the omelet. They will not disappoint!

The most overstuffed and delectable lobster roll I’ve ever had! Very reasonably priced too for the quantity of lobster meat I got! My husband loved his crab cake benedict as well. Bar 'Cino Newport is a cozy Italian restaurant and bar located in the heart of Newport's historic Washington Square. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with an open kitchen concept and al fresco dining options, providing a European vibe. The menu features Italian specialties such as pizzas, pastas, warm olives, potato chips, grilled endive, tiramisu, and lemon sorbet.
If you are visiting Newport, definitely go here. It is one of the best restaurants in town. We ended up going twice because we loved it so much the first time. The line and constantly packed tables are a testament to how good everything is. The cocktails are phenomenal and any entree is delicious. Not to mention the desserts too. The lemon sorbet was so flavorful. There are so many good things to try. The carrots were my favorite too.

Great little restaurant in town with intimate seating and lighting. The staff is friendly and efficient. Drinks are good and food is delicious. The rigatoni bolognese has a meaty sauce and the whole roasted branzino is flavorful but be cautious with all the bones. The seared salmon was tender with a citrus fennel herb salad. We absolutely loved their grilled pizza with prosciutto, fig, arugula, fontina, and gorgonzola. Now for my standard comments. Easy to walk to in town. There is a good amount of seating but it is a bit packed. Still quite comfortable to dine in.

Service, food, atmosphere, all so great! The Best pizza and I dont even like pizza. Thin, perfectly crispy crust, full of flavors...yum! The special pasta was great also, mushroom sauce with Bok Choy and spicy sausage. Wow! Sitting outside with just enough wind made it more memorable. Even though we had to wait about 30 mins it was so worth the wait!

I started my meal with the prosciutto fig bruschetta, which was absolutely sensational – the combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pizza I ordered was a prosciutto fig pizza with a super thin, grilled crust that was cut with scissors, giving it a unique texture and a delightful crunch. The flavors of the pizza surprised me with how well they blended, each bite better than the last. I then moved on to a spaghetti carbonara that was truly outstanding – creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of peppery bite to bring it all together. It was one of the best versions of carbonara I’ve had in a while. For dessert, I had an affogato that was good but not particularly memorable, and a lemon tart that, while okay, didn’t quite match the exceptional level of everything else we’d had up to that point. All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the overall quality of the food at Barcino – I didn’t expect such a high standard in this spot. From the impressive bruschetta to the excellent pizza and pasta, this meal was a wonderful discovery.

The Reef is a casual waterfront restaurant located in Newport Harbor, offering a tropical paradise experience with its outdoor patios adorned with palm trees, lounge seating, and fire pits overlooking the harbor. The menu features a variety of international cuisine, including lobster rolls served cold with Reef lobster Aioli or warm garlic butter. This dog-friendly spot provides ample outdoor seating for patrons to enjoy live music and creative cocktails while taking in the picturesque views of boats on the water.
Yesterday was my first time in Newport, and the Reef was my first stop. I heard some great things about it so a friend and I decided to go. We sat outside with a view of the water and the boats, with lovely live music. We had the most amazing server, shout out to Oliva (with the bangs)! She was fantastic and kind and very helpful/patient when we’re asked her so many questions about the menu. She gave great recommendations on what food and drinks were the best and she was RIGHT. This was 10/10 some other best best food I’ve had and it was a great first time in Newport! I will definitely be back again, Thank you Liv!!

Overall we had a decent time at the reef; we came for lunch. One thing that is a small pet peeve of mine is when a place will advertise indoor and outdoor seating, but there will be no barrier to the outside so the inside seating is basically outside anyway. It was a hot day and we had been out in the sun and asked to sit inside, but they had one of the walls open to the outdoors so the indoor seating really wasn’t much relief from the elements. Still, our server was very nice. It took a little while to get our food but it was very flavorful. I got the calamari and lobster bisque, my husband got the swordfish. We both enjoyed our dishes. We both drank water as our beverage however they didn’t put any ice in either of our drinks, and there was debris in my water- additionally because there was no barrier to the outdoors a gnat died in my soup and there was one in my water as well. The decor of the place feels a bit run down/dated for the menu price. While we were eating some guy was walking his dog through the area between the indoor and outdoor seating, and his dog urinated into one of the potted plants. No one (dog owner or staff) attempted to stop this from happening.

We made reservations for a waterside brunch. Farmers omelet was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was paired with simple spring greens with a light vinaigrette that was equally delicious. Avocado toast was very well done a tasty. Egg was perfectly cooked to a soft boil. Highly recommend both brunch items.

Food was just above average. Although the Greek Ceviche was odd IMO. Cheap plastic like Feta and raw fish was a weird combo. Most loved dishes of the night were the Watermelon Salad, Asian noodles and the Crispy tuna appetizer. Service was very friendly and the place is nice, right on the dock. Good gluten free knowledge and options.

This was a stop on the Newport Foodies Stroll. We had a bowl of their clam chowder. Apparently, Rhode Island Clam Chowder is very brothy whereas New England Clam Chowder is very creamy. This was described as a hybrid - more of a light cream. There is excellent flavor in every bite and I definitely recommend it. The view is quite wonderful as well.

The Reef was the perfect spot for my birthday brunch! The lobster benedict was AMAZING, really wished we'd gotten two! We had such a fun time with our server Jamie. It was hilarious trying to guess all the different songs that the live steel drum band were playing (live music on Sundays). Great views, great atmosphere! Would definitely go back.

Everything was just right. We almost did not get in though. They seat the last table at 8:45. Our server was wonderful. They were able to accommodate a food sensitivity to gluten, dairy and soy. She had the hamburger and truffle fries. They have a separate gluten free fryer.

We came to The Reef during off-season. The food was delicious & the service was great. I enjoyed the lobster pappardelle pasta so much - pasta had a bite and the sauce was fresh, savory, and herby. Oysters were fresh and delicious too! Clam chowder was a bit watery for what it is, however, it was still tasteful and nice. Overall the environment was quieter due to it being off season, which I prefer. But it was a nice restaurant to grab a bite at! Owners and workers there were attentive and lovely people.

Chef Dezna Bowen opened her namesake restaurant Humming Bird in the heart of Broadway. The Jamaican-born chef has perfected her skills in her homeland before moving to New England, and the menu features traditional dishes alongside some unexpected twists. There are plenty of options for food lovers of all tastes, with ratings averaging out at 4.5 stars.
A lovely restaurant on vibrant Broadway in Newport. I've walked by many times and finally stopped in for lunch - I shouldn't have waited so long. The restaurant captures a great Jamaican vibe with reggae music and an awesome mural of Usain Bolt. Most importantly, the food is amazing. I had a beef patty and the Cool Runnings jerk chicken sandwich on a brioche bun - both were great. My wife had the Caribbean-style tuna melt on fresh local sourdough bread - also great. I will definitely be returning!!!

Stopped in to grab a late lunch, both the food and service was great. We sat outside and enjoyed our sandwiches. I ordered the tuna melt with sourdough bread and my wife ordered the jerk chicken sandwich both were served with sweet potato fries. The food didn’t take too long to be served and was delicious. The inside was very clean with plenty of seating both inside and out.

Not sure why this place doesn’t have a line out the door. Their breakfast was amazing. Coffee was delicious, and service excellent. The sausage was very juicy, and pancakes were cooked to perfection.

Great little neighborhood restaurant. Jerk chicken hit the spot. Red bean stew was a vegan treat. Kids say wings and fried chicken were good. Made for a wonderful family dinner after a long day’s drive.

As someone from Queens, NY- Rhode Island is not exactly a place I'd expect to find decent Caribbean food, however. wow. Hummingbird is not just decent but actually some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. I dug in so quickly, I almost forgot to snap decent pictures! My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch while in town and the food was incredibly delicious and satisfying. The staff was prompt and patient and the restaurant was very clean. We ordered the crispy chicken and jerk chicken since they were out of the brown stew chicken. There were a few sides to choose from but my faves were the rice and beans and the cabbage salad- which I'm going to try making at home. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an authentic taste of Caribbean food :)

Excellent breakfast. Like some others, intended to go to Corner Cafe but the line was absurd. Hummingbird serves a delicious breakfast. Had the eggs Benedict with potatoes. A perfect poached egg takes some skill. Top notch, great flavor, and I'm usually not a fan of breakfast potatoes. Good service, pleasant outdoor seating area, good coffee. Would come here again for breakfast in Newport.

The restaurant features multiple dining spaces, including a rooftop terrace overlooking Newport Harbor, a back patio with a bocce court and libation hut, and a spacious dining room with greenery cascading from suspended trellises.
BEST wedding reception venue on the island! We rented the entire restaurant for our 156 guests & loved all of the spaces, especially the late-night Speakeasy. Exceptional service (because they all work there regularly), incredible food & an absolute joy to work with. No need to rent anything (ie: linens, glassware, etc) because it's already there.

We were looking for a place in Newport for 14 people, and no one had space for such a big group on a Saturday night. Finally, we found this amazing spot with such great vibes and atmosphere, where we celebrated my mom’s birthday. It was a wonderful, cozy family night. The food could have been a little better, but the service was excellent Thank you Stoneacre Garden

We came to Stoneacre garden on a Friday afternoon and was able to get seated without a reservation. The waiting staff here are so friendly and offered some great food suggestions. Make a reservation if you’re going during a busy time because I can tell it gets packed.

Today my girlfriend and I visited Newport from CT and AZ respectively to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, and were disappointed beyond belief. The restaurant looked good and had good reviews and up until we received our food, we believed so. Our server was kind and helpful and we know this was out of her control. To start, we ordered a "watermelon burrata salad", and to our disbelief, there were 2 pieces of watermelon. First red flag. Then it came time to order our mains, in which we both ordered the steak frites, medium rare. Our waitress then came back and told us that we could order "pink or not pink". Second red flag. Finally, the food came and oh my god was it awful. Flavour non-existent. You could get more flavour licking your own sweaty skin and the bottom of your worn out shoes than that steak. It was lukewarm at best and was noticeably a reheated steak. I felt like I relived an episode of Gordon ramsay's "Hell's Kitchen". Sure there were grill lines, but they may as well have tattooed that onto the meat considering the lack of charred texture. Bland does not even put into words how plain this was. You could've eaten paper and left with more of an after taste. Don't make our mistake and do not come here.

Nestled in Jamestown, JB's on the Water offers a remarkable dining experience with its picturesque waterfront view and an enticing menu. The restaurant is celebrated for its warm lobster and butter roll, featuring generous portions of fresh lobster that leave diners craving more. Formerly known as The Bay Voyage, this gem was transformed by owner John Brito into a culinary hotspot with stunning views.
On the East Coast for a wedding in Newport RI and we stopped in for an early dinner at JB’s. We were sat at a table with a view of the bay. We ordered contrails from a tempting list of unique offerings. I had a rum based drink that was everything I expected. Flavorful and strong. Next we had a whipped goat cheese app that was savory and a great texture with toast points that were perfectly crispy, but still soft enough to not fall apart when bite into it. Next we shared a blackened Shrimp Caesar and a Fig Burger. Great flavor on the Caesar, and the fig burger was top notch. Taking a piece of chocolate cake back to the hotel for a late night treat. All in all this place was amazing and I can only imagine how fantastic it must be on a sunny summer weekend. 10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend.

Came here for lunch on a whim. The setting was beautiful and the atmosphere upscale and comfortable. Amazing views of the water. We were promptly greeted and sat by the hostess, with our waitress not far behind. Waters and drink orders were prompt and kept full. Lunch was delicious. Fish and chips, Mediterranean chicken, and the Striped Bass special were all delicious. Looking forward to returning again!

What a hidden gem on the ocean! The restaurant was absolutely amazing, with excellent service from start to finish. We had the cod and the lobster pasta — both were a 10+, truly the best we’ve ever had. A special mention to our server, Olivia, who was incredibly attentive and always right there when we needed anything. Her friendly, professional service made an already wonderful meal even better. Highly recommend!

Five stars across the board. We were in town for a concert and are in our fifties. It was not too crowded, the atmosphere was wonderful, especially being on the waterfront. We ate outside and our server, Lily, was excellent...super friendly and helpful but not bothersome. We ordered the lobster roll and fish and chips, and for drinks we ordered a Pink Peppah and a Sunset Thyme, really enjoyed them all. We would stop back again for sure if our future travels take us this way. Well done, JB's!

When in Rome, right? I had a serious craving for a lobster roll while visiting downtown Newport, but I was completely overwhelmed by how packed everything was with tourists. So, on my way back to Connecticut, my family and I decided to stop in Jamestown instead and I’m so glad we did! We stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant right on the water. The lobster roll was excellent (they offer both hot and cold versions), and paired with some cozy fall drinks and that gorgeous ocean view, I couldn’t have been happier we made this little detour.

Nice place right on the water it was a very hot day and it was nice having dinner with all the windows open with the ocean breeze blowing at you. Got some oysters and chowder. The menu kind of sucks not alot of options , no clam cakes which I thought was weird and not much of a raw bar , the oysters were not even advertised I had to ask for them. The chowder was good, but for 50 dollars for my entire meal I expected more than a tiny bowl of chowder.
Tyler J — Google review
Food was fantastic for smaller plate breakfast food. The staff was really friendly and helpful at all times. The view is fantastic and this seems to be a small hidden gem in the area. Parking can be an issue so plan accordingly. I would visit here again.

We decided to eat out since there was a Nor’easter while we were camping in the area. We chose JB’s because it was along the water and had a decent looking menu. We ordered the NE clam chowder, salmon, short rib dinner, and hot lobster roll. All were delicious. If only the weather had been nicer the view would have been great. It was a little busy but we did not feel ignored/not taken care of or rushed out when we were done eating. Not too loud so you could have a conversation and hear each other. I would recommend JB’s, great food! The parking lot is more convenient to the hotel, we had to wind our way around the hotel to get to the restaurant based on where we ended up parking.

Nestled within the luxurious Vanderbilt Grace Hotel, The Dining Room at The Vanderbilt offers a sophisticated dining experience that beautifully marries elegance with comfort. This intimate space is adorned with rich navy walls and plush leather club chairs, creating a romantic ambiance perfect for any occasion. Under the culinary guidance of Executive Chef Timothy Caspare, guests can indulge in an array of elevated American dishes that are both innovative and delightful.
We went to the Newport Hour, the Vanderbilt’s version of Happy Hour on a Friday night this winter. We got the first seats at the bar which filled up quickly. The mixologists were awesome. Drinks were delicious. We tried several from their curated menu. The ambiance is great. The classy, classic setting combines history with modern menu twists. The anchovy toast was magical, oysters fresh & delicious, bread and butter was dreamy. We were a mix of couples, & friends.

We had such a great experience at the Vanderbilt dining room. The atmosphere was dark and moody in the best way — it gave off a true old money vibe that made the whole night feel a little more special. We started with raw oysters, clams, and Old Bay cocktail shrimp, and everything was sooo good — super fresh and flavorful. We also split a Caesar salad (because why not?) before diving into our main dinner, which we picked off the specials list: steak frites, cooked perfectly medium rare. Every bite was delicious. Already looking forward to coming back!

LOVED absolutely everything about this place! I am sad that I count try everything. The servers and staff was very considerate. Having explained about portions and being vegetarian...they did everything they could to accommodate it without us having to request. The food was delicious! I am in awe of the Ribolitta they served and would love to shout out about it from the Newport lighthouses. I could not take better pictures due to the lighting. The prices are competitive with other restaurants in the area and is nothing over the top. I would have been more cognizant about dress code, but we had been traveling and were exhausted. Definitely would be coming here again. Highly highly recommend!

I made reservations and visited for brunch with my family. Quite a charming resort and dining area, wonderfully decorated and had a very welcoming feel. I will certainly visit this place again for a meal and hopefully stay the weekend in the near future.

Three in my party dined here and all had an amazing meal. The quality of the food was outstanding. We started with shrimp cocktail, smoke haddock croquettes, and garden salad. All excellent. The main courses consisted of duck which was cooked perfectly as was the ribeye for two. I selected the Frenzy Sauvignon Blanc and was very pleased. For dessert we tried collectively the sticky toffee pudding. It was a spice cake with coffee ice cream and a caramel base. All in all the ambience was excellent and staff was good as well.

When you want to escape the tourist riff raf of Newport and enjoy an elegant old world dining room, look no further than here. The ambiance is 1st class, without being pretentious and quiet where you can actually hold a conversation over dinner. The cocktails we started off with were all expertly made, I had the sweet heat while my friend ordered the nomadic old fashioned and my wife ordered the paper tiger. For food we had 2 Royal’s(burgers) and they were ligit, so so good. My wife had the Harry’s Bar Ham & Gruyère, very, very good. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

No surprises here. An atmosphere of luxury from the past is evident in all areas of the property that we were able to see during our brief visit. We were on a cruise, reached port early in the day, and made the short trek to The Vanderbilt for breakfast. Quiet, subdued luxury is the vibe here. Standard breakfast fare is offered. Our meals were well prepared and presented nicely. Service was fast and friendly. The price was consistent with a meal from an establishment that has the name "Vanderbilt". All-in-all a nice experience at a price I expected.

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Newport, Knot Norm's is a delightful eatery that has quickly become a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This cozy venue features inviting patio seating where guests can savor an array of delectable seafood and meat bowls, as well as mouthwatering rolls. The highlight here is undoubtedly the lobster roll, crafted with house-made lobster butter that elevates this classic dish to new heights.
Excellent food and service! I love to find small gems like this when on vacation and Knot Norm’s fit the bill. I will admit I had no idea the lobster roll was $38 but I didn’t ask and it was a lot of perfectly cooked lobster. From a food perspective - a small menu of fresh items that have the right seasoning is a key to success. Everything was super tasty - including the slaw and pickles. From a service perspective - everyone was so nice and highly engaged in making sure we had everything we needed. Great experience, people and food!

So good! We ordered the wings, fish tacos, and steak&cheese roll. All were wonderful. The wings had an incredibly unique flavor, and were SO crispy. The steak and cheese was delicious and I could’ve easily ate another. Even the little pickles they give on the side were delicious. The workers were also super nice! Would 100% return! Only downside is they don’t sell alcohol- but you are allowed to bring your own for a $10 cork fee

Excellent service, food is not as great as was expected. Pork belly was decent flavor wise, but mostly just fat. Fries were great. Fish tacos are ok. More of a breading than fried, I’d avoid it to be honest. Better fish tacos elsewhere. Definitely try it.

Well that was good! It was off season during the pandemic, but we walked in, sat down, and were waited on immediately. Friendly service, delicious food and a fun ambiance with a view of the street for good people watching. We were in the corner booth with windows on two sides and the heat was blowing on our feet nice and toasty. Would definitely come back. We got the clam chowder, lobster roll (it was the warm kind, not cold) and steamed clams. All delicious. BYOB!

Cute quiet place. We had our first NE lobster rolls and they were tasty. I’m not sure if everything in Newport is priced this high, but this felt like a safe place to get a roll at some reasonable prices. But ours (in May) were $38 a piece. It is also technically a sit-down place, so after the tip for just our rolls (which come with lays chips and a tiny thing of slaw and pickles), our bill was just under $100. I would expect this from a more fancy sit-down place but this place felt way more casual. Idk.
Claire L — Google review
Wonderful service. I had the lobster bisque and fish tacos made into a bowl(not listed on the menu but a recommendation from my server). Everything tasted amazing.

Going to be a relatively short review compared to most. I was in the area and needed a quick bite to eat before an event. Ordered online and the website was pretty easy and simple to use. The food was almost perfectly portioned for a single serving. The website gave an estimated finished time which seemed to be pretty accurate. Food itself was amazing. Crispy french fries. Everything in the taco was amazing. Flavors all went great. The price was a little on the high side but with the quality of food and location of downtown Newport I'd say it's normal. The inside of the restaurant has a small dining area for dining in. The hostess greeted me when I came in and was super polite. Overall I'd definitely try Knot Norms again if I was in the area and would recommend it to anyone.

Newport Harbor Island Resort, located on Goat Island, offers a luxurious resort experience with stunning views of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. The newly renovated property features two indoor/outdoor saltwater pools, a waterfront spa, private sundeck, cabanas for rent, a historic lighthouse, and a 22-slip marina. Guests can also enjoy the company of goats on the island. The resort provides seclusion on a private island while being conveniently close to Newport's attractions.
We came to Newport Harbor Island Resort for our anniversary, and the experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Even from the moment we called to make our reservation, the staff was wonderful—so helpful and welcoming. When we arrived, the front desk staff and managers went above and beyond by surprising us with a bottle of wine and even upgrading our room to celebrate our anniversary. It truly made us feel special and appreciated. The entire team, from reservations to front desk to restaurant service, was incredibly friendly and kind. Shout out to Sharon and her front desk team and April and Natalie from reservations! The rooms were spotless, modern, updated, and very comfortable. We also loved dining at the Torpedo Bar—the food was excellent, and our server was both professional and warm, making the meal extra enjoyable. This resort truly exceeded our expectations with both service and atmosphere. We felt cared for every step of the way and left with wonderful memories. We absolutely loved it here and will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I drove from NY to NHIR for our anniversary. We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday, and had a wonderful time. We had the "duplex King" with a beautiful view of the bay and bridge! Absolutely, beautiful!! The free shuttle to Bowen's wharf was an excellent perk. Our only regret was not being able to experience the 1639 restaurant at the resort, as they were only open Fri-Sat, and Sunday for brunch (would have made for a memorable anniversary dinner 😞). Would definitely come again!

My husband and I stayed for one night and had a wonderful time. We arrived around Noon and were pleasantly surprised when our room was ready — we dropped off our bags and headed to the pool. Beautiful pool and grounds, well kept. We took the water taxi to and from Bowen’s Wharf for drinks and then went back to the hotel for dinner outside at the Torpedo Cafe. The hostess had zero personality and we surprised by her lack of hospitality. Our waitress, Grace, was incredible and we would highly recommend her. Grace was attentive, funny, personable, and an all around joy. Breakfast service at 9:30 AM on a Monday was slow and the same hostess was working at Torpedo — she was again, not welcoming. Each of our meals was excellent. The coffee shop and gift shop were lovely too. We would definitely return, we had a great time!

My wife and I spent our anniversary at NHIR from 9/21-9/24, and had a wonderful time. We had the two level, waterview room overlooking the bay, with magnificent view of the bridge and lighthouse from our balcony! Hector and Miranda at the front desk were inviting and informative. The free shuttle van to and from Bowen's Wharf was an added treat. Driving up from NY wasn't as terrible as I had thought (approx 3 hrs) and we DEFINITELY look forward to returning. Our only regret was not being able to dine at the 1639 restaurant on the property, as they were only open Fri and Sat for dinner and Sunday for brunch.

Absolutely delightful stay at the resort. We had a lovely view of the grounds, pool, and two areas of water, as well as the bridge. Parking was very easy, the spa was incredibly relaxing with a great locker room and lounge room before an amazing massage, and we were even able to check in over four hours early! My only complaint was that it was a bit loud in the hallways- we could hear the elevator close to our room as well as people talking and doors closing very easily inside our room in the early morning.

My room was spacious, well-appointed, and designed to create a sense of calm. The amenities, from the pool to the waterfront views, made the stay truly memorable. What stood out most was the exceptional service — every staff member was attentive and welcoming. A special thanks to DJ, our server, whose professionalism and warm personality made dining especially enjoyable.

My wife & I stayed at the Resort for the LIUNA New England Regional Conference and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, as did other attendees. Staff was all very friendly and helpful during our stay. There were plenty of things to do in the area, if I had time (Union Meetings took up most of my time), and I saw both young and old enjoying their stay in the area. I have no problem highly recommending the Resort to all.
