Cru Cafe, located in Newport, RI, is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch. The cafe prides itself on using fresh, local ingredients to create a menu filled with seasonal dishes. Operating from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily, the cafe offers all-day breakfast options like the Newporter sandwich and creative avocado toasts, as well as hearty omelets. Lunch choices cater to various dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Went there for brunch, great place. It was two of us and we ordered three items (too much food!!). Everything was great, but the french toast was the highlight. The cold brew was perfect too. Sat outside with our dog #PetFriendly Great value, quick service, delicious food, gigantic portions. Highly recommend this stop when visiting Newport!

Delicious apple cider doughnuts. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully presented. The coffee from Custom House is of course the best around! There were lots of seating options both inside and outside in the lovely courtyard. Our only complaint was the bees everywhere outside.
Anna W — Google review
Lovely cafe. Sandwiches are huge! I got the roast beef but it was just okay. There was a long line but it went quickly and food was delivered fast. They have a separate counter for people only getting drinks, which is a great idea. Needs more bathrooms. Unclear if you have to clear your own plate (they came around and did it) so better signage would be nice. Inside and outside were adorable!
Rachel P — Google review
Staff was inviting and pleasant. Food was outstanding. So much flavor and fresh. Prices are low for all you get! We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze.
Jenna T — Google review
The food was so good! We went on a Saturday and I had the Newport Eggs off the brunch menu and my partner had the Lumberjack Breakfast. Both options were delicious. The portions were large and beautifully served. I highly recommend the Cru Cafe
Sarah S — Google review
I ordered a bacon egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! It was so busy but the service was quick. Alan & Lauren were so kind and helpful. They have gluten free bread & wraps and were very conscious of my allergy. Definitely recommend!
Mariana E — Google review
Came here for the gluten free bread. Got the grilled cheese sandwich that was so cheesy. I shared the fancy tots with my husband, who got the breakfast wrap. Good thing we ordered a small because it would have been bacon cheese overload. They made sure to let me know that the tots had cross contamination because of the oil I believe. Self serve of water, coffee refills and bussing your own table.
Sonie G — Google review
Food was good! I would definitely come back and also recommend this as a brunch place for others. Seems like there were plenty of places to sit. Wasn’t fond of the coffee.

Takeout Restaurant
Corner Café is a vibrant BYOB spot that attracts locals with its diverse menu, including breakfast specials and wood-grilled pizzas. The café has received rave reviews from visitors who praise the friendly staff and the delicious food options, ranging from comfort food to healthier choices. Additionally, it's one of the many restaurants in town where you can dine outside with your dog. Beyond dining experiences, Newport offers a rich history to explore, including guilded age mansions and old colonial houses.
The Corner Cafe is a lovely place to get breakfast! They have a wide variety of coffee, tea, juices, and other beverages, as well as a great array of dishes to choose from. The staff are all very nice and attentive to whatever you need. We ordered the Portuguese Sweetbread Scrambler, Yogurt with Granola and Bananas, and the Vitamin C Booster. All of the meals were delicious and the juice was so refreshing! I would highly recommend this as a breakfast or brunch spot.
Samantha B — Google review
Yum, yum, yum! The cutest little corner diner with an extremely big delicious breakfast menu, but I was here to get some lunch. I tried the black bean and sweet potato burger with house salad and the cappuccino and everything was delicious!! Everyone here is just dressed in their own clothes, just a real laid-back diner with outdoor seating under canopies, so you're not blazing in the sun. While I was waiting in line, yes there was a line, two people walking out both commented and how delicious the breakfast was and it was their first time here. A must try in Newport Plus it's not on the main road with all the tourists which is why I went down this way. I was told that Broadway St. was where you wanted to eat, better places, more locals.
The L — Google review
Fun, bright, spacious place for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is served all day. Staff were friendly and although there was a line when we arrived, we got seated within 10 minutes. We had the cowboy scrambler, eggs Florentine, bacon, a pancake, a cappuccino and a latte. Overall food and drinks were good but didn't blow me away.
Sara B — Google review
The best part of this place is its aesthetic and large portion dishes. Each entree portion is extremely generous. However, seasoning was a bit lacking, so I had to use some salt and pepper offered on the table. Additionally, service was very slow even with only a few tables filled.
Maya — Google review
Our favorite breakfast spot in Newport! There’s often a line, but it’s a small spot (they do have outdoor seating too). You definitely have to get there right when they open or you’ll have a wait (at least on the weekends), but very worth it. The menu is great, not too limited, with something for everyone. The breakfast potatoes are very unique, flavorful, and delicious. Be sure to save time to walk around the area and explore the shops (but most open at 10).
Emily C — Google review
Corner Cafe has got to be the best breakfast in Newport! Every dish we ordered was incredible and huge. The service was very attentive, impressively so for how busy they were when we ate there. We waited for ~10 minutes to seat our party of 4 on a Saturday morning.
Alexis N — Google review
A very nice sit down diner. We had Sourdough Avocado Toast, nicely prepared with orange juice. The food was excellent and location was also good. We would recommend for a quick lunch or dinner.
Jaimin J — Google review
Delicious food. The irish breakfast went above and beyond, perfectly fried sausage, very tasty black and white pudding, and perfectly well cooked eggs to top it off. Will come back.

Lunch restaurant
Franklin Spa, located at 229 Spring St in Newport, is a popular breakfast and lunch spot known for its hearty classics and New England-inspired specials. Despite its unassuming exterior, the crowd of locals and visitors waiting outside speaks to its reputation as one of the best breakfast spots in town. The diner-style eatery offers bottomless coffee and generous portions of dishes like eggs benedict with lobster and the Portuguese Sailor breakfast sandwich.
Simply THE BEST breakfast spot in all of Newport! Been going here for now almost 15 years every time the Navy sends me back for more school. The eggs are always perfect, the avo toast is excellent and my father-in-law said the corned beef hash is better than what he gets in the south! They open at 6 am and there’s usually a line by 9 on weekends so get there early, you won’t be disappointed.
Jonathan W — Google review
Food is above average and a great value for the price. I've had the California omelette and steak/egg wrap, both were good. Service and atmosphere were great. I've come here the two mornings I've been in town and would recommend.

One of the best breakfast spots in Newport. Great food, amazing staff, awesome atmosphere. Ideal location on Spring st / Memorial Blvd. Must try is the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast!

This was our first time having breakfast at the Franklin Spa! The food was very good! Everything was cooked just right ! The French toast, eggs, omelets and fresh breads were so delicious…the music was good as well as the atmosphere and staff! We met Brittany the owner and found out she worked there for 12 years before purchasing the restaurant just goes to show when you love what you do you can taste the difference! We will be back for sure! Steph and Jeff

Food was good - not great. We were told there was a 20-30 min wait but it was actually an hour and 10 min. When we were seated we ordered ice coffees and chocolate milk - the iced coffee had almost no flavor. After 3 creams and a sugar it tasted like something but still nothing interesting (and we usually drink good coffee black). The server couldn’t take our order for another 15 min because “the kitchen had too many orders.” We were kind but definitely feeling hangry at this point. When our food finally came we’d been there for more than 2 hours. We had nothing to drink for quite a while - and no one to tree from until food was dropped off. No one came back to see if the food was alright. We also had to get up to get napkins from the server station. We’d never go there again, not because the food was bad, but because the overall experience was unacceptable.

Wonderful local diner! Food was amazing and the diner vibe fantastic - especially the dinner bell when my food was ready!

Ate here last week with friends and always a fantastic breakfast and fun experience. Thank you to our server, Mia, who was outstanding. And it was her birthday!! The 4 of us had the blueberry stuffed French toast (2die4) 2egg b’fast, eggs & homemade hash browns and I had the scram-bowl with tomatoes ham & spinach (also 2die4). Mine was amazing, eggs-cellent actually! We love this place, been coming for years, always a pleasure. Mia, hope you had an awesome rest of your birthday and thank you again for a fun attitude and big smile!

Diego's is a casual and lively restaurant located in the heart of Newport's Bowen's Wharf, offering modern West Coast-style Mexican cuisine and a wide selection of specialty drinks. The restaurant provides indoor and outdoor dining options, including a rooftop deck, making it a popular choice for visitors looking to enjoy tacos, shareable Mexican snacks, and spicy margaritas. Diego's also offers a brunch menu with $8 specials such as tortas and huevos rancheros when accompanied by breakfast cocktails.
Food was glorious! We had burritos, nachos with guacamole and the fish tacos! All were super good. The filling in the burrito was generous and cleanly wrapped. Quite noisy though inside. Servers were very helpful and attentive.

Great local restaurant. Me and my friends go so often our waitress, Sadie, knows us. Sadie is great! She is very attentive and always friendly. They have a great taco Tuesday. I want to go and try their nacho Thursday. Think Mexican food with a twist. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.
Tchanavia B — Google review
Alex took great care of us! The pink lemonade was refreshing after walking the Cliff Walk. We started with the crispy calamari. My husband had the Barbacoa Burrito and I had the carne asada tacos. We were ravenous after the long hike and everything was delicious! 🤤 We also had the apple pie burrito and it was great. Not too sweet and a perfect dessert. We also had a nice view out to the marina which we love as we are both sailors. Definitely will come back to Diego’s when we are back in the area!
Amanda S — Google review
This place would get 5 stars only if we didn’t have to wait 15 mins to get a table while the place wasn’t packed! We had made a reservation, even though we didn’t need one. People arriving after us got tables faster! However the lady who was serving our table was very nice, 5 stars for her service! Food - we got the fried tofu tacos from the Vegan menu. Veggie nachos & tofu burrito & a Marg. It was all good. Loved the nachos.
RIYA P — Google review
Absolutely amazing food, very diverse menu options. I'm vegan but my husband is not. They had the regular menu as well as a Vegan menu and Gluten free menu! We got upgraded margs (which were amazing) vegan nachos, vegan Cali burrito with smoked tofu, and barbacoa burrito. Everything was amazing, if we ever busy Newport again, we'll be sure to be back!
Lena A — Google review
This place is in a great location. We stopped here for a small bite and drinks before lunch in 3 hrs. It was brunch menu and we ordered the smoke salmon quesadilla. I was expecting a nice size quesadilla but I was wrong. Please see photo. Service started off really slow sitting at the bar. Total of 6 ppl at the bar. Both parties seated at the same time. After 10 min we were acknowledged. I forgot to mention someone stuck chewed up gum on the bar where we sat it was gross but finally the nice bartender cleaned it up and was embarrassed. He was the best part of our experience here.
Lisa C — Google review
Ate here twice during our stay in Newport. They have a full vegan option menu and the food was fantastic. We had the Cali Burrito, Fried Tofu Tacos, Vegan Nachos with Vegan Sausage, Spicy Butternut Squash Bisque, and the Street Tacos. Everything was excellent. Then there are the drinks which were delicious too. Staff was so friendly and made us feel like locals. Highly recommend.
Dtown F — Google review
Diego’s in Newport, RI is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold flavors and a killer atmosphere. Combining authentic Mexican cuisine with a laid-back punk rock vibe, this spot delivers not just great food, but a whole experience. The tacos are the real standout — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Whether you go for the classic carne asada, the crispy fish, or one of their creative veggie options, every bite hits the spot. Pair them with one of their house-made hot sauces for an extra kick. Another can’t-miss dish is the chicken tortilla soup — it’s rich, hearty, and packed with just the right amount of spice. Topped with crunchy tortilla strips and fresh avocado, it’s pure comfort in a bowl. On top of the amazing food, the punk rock decor, fun staff, and killer soundtrack make Diego’s feel unique and full of energy. It’s the perfect place to grab a casual meal with friends or fuel up after a day exploring Newport. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Diego’s is one of those spots you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Castle Hill Inn is a luxurious Victorian property situated on 40 acres of waterfront land, featuring a private beach and upscale dining options. Since its opening in 1875, it has been frequented by notable personalities like Grace Kelly and playwright Thornton Wilder. The accommodations include rooms, suites, and beachfront cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces. The outdoor restaurant, The Lawn, offers stunning views of Narragansett Bay.
My son brought me to the restaurant where he works, and we had a wonderful meal together. Everything was truly delicious—every bite full of flavor and care. The service was excellent and incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. I also want to express my gratitude for their generous hospitality. And above all, I’m always proud of my son Jonathan. Watching him work so passionately brings me so much joy. Thank you for a memorable experience! Hi recommend this place.
Aliriza D — Google review
The Castle Hill Inn was an elegant dining experience for lunch. I am usually apprehensive about valet, but our guy, Connor, instantly made me feel as though my car was in good hands. From there, we were sat by a beautiful hostess named Ayina who was super friendly and informed us of everything they had to offer. Once we were seated, our waitress named all of the specials they had (so many good choices) and drink specials. Everything came out perfect. Lounging on the Adirondack chairs on the grass while watching the boats is a must-do when at Castle Hill Inn. There are even some paths to get down on the rocks below. Awesome place for a date. Highly recommend.

This is a great hotel with an excellent Restaurant. The views are spectacular especially during sunset. Enjoy sitting outside and enjoy your favorite libations, bring your friends and you will see some impressive yachts sail along the coastline. You can definitely make reservations at the restaurant if you dont want to stay here, but I recommend you get a room. You can dine at two restaurants the Aurelia and the Lawn Terrace. You will definitely enjoy what this place has to offer. I highly recommend you make a visit here.

We stopped in for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and birthday and were thoroughly impressed the moment we met the valet driver. The entire staff was warm and attentive, and incredibly welcoming. Our server Kaye was polite and friendly and went out of her way to make our experience memorable! The food was delicious, flavorful and beautifully presented. The views were stunning from every angle making the whole experience that much better . We had the pleasure of dealing with your manager Brian which made our experience even more special. Brian’s dedication to providing exceptional service and his commitment to providing exceptional customer service was evident in every detail. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We can’t wait to come back and visit again!

[This is strictly for the restaurant!] WOW. 100/10. Go for sunset!! This is a must-see dinner spot if you are venturing to Newport area. Food, view and service were all an absolute 10/10. Cannot wait to go back another time. We went early/mid Oct so it wasn’t as crowded as it likely is in peak season but we still got there early (before 530) to get a good window seat in the dining area. The clam chowder was the best I’ve had to date. My husband ordered the duck and I’m not a big duck person but it was delicious. I also loved my turkey sandwich. And our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind.

💎 where to begin!? ✨ This is the most enchanting property I’ve ever been on in my life. It is so Luxe and cozy the same time. I was privileged to have been chosen to work for a beautiful young lady having her rehearsal dinner for her wedding the following day today. She chose my service, BEST SALON NEWPORT, a concierge hairstyling service for discerning clientele, and I can only hope anyone staying in the future will choose me also, to be part of their special day!!! ✨🙏 Thank you!! Had drinks on the lawn. Location amazing, service fabulous but drinks were below expectations (especially given the price). Gin & tonic was watery like they let the ice melt. Another hibiscus drink was tasteless. Servers & valet top notch but the drinks were disappointing. Stick with wine or beer & enjoy the beautiful view!

Annie's is a beloved breakfast spot located on Bellevue Avenue in the historic district of Newport. This traditional diner offers all-day breakfast with a relaxed and laid-back vibe, making it a favorite among locals. The menu features American comfort food, including a popular weekday special offering two eggs, home fries, toast, and coffee for $4.50.
Annie’s Best Breakfast: A Gem with History and Heart What a treat this place is! Laurie, our waitress, was a total ray of sunshine—so enthusiastic and genuinely excited about the menu that I couldn’t resist trying everything she suggested. The hot, fresh croissants? Absolute heaven. They practically melted in my mouth. The fresh-squeezed juice was crisp and bright, the egg white Greek omelette was light and full of flavor, and even the coffee was perfection—smooth, rich, not a hint of bitterness. What makes this spot extra special is its history. Annie, the owner, is named after Annie Moore—the first Irish immigrant to sign the book at Ellis Island. There’s a sense of heritage and pride here that you can feel the moment you walk in. Between the warm service, delicious food, and a story worth remembering, Annie’s Best Breakfast really does live up to its name. Five stars without question!
Jodi K — Google review
We stopped in Annie’s for breakfast. It was a no-frills kitchenette vibe. It was decorated for Christmas which was really pretty! We were seated pretty quickly and discovered that we came at a good time because it fills up quickly! I ordered the Huevos Ranchos which was really good! My husband got the western omelette with home fries and a side of corned beef hash. The only complaint my husband had was that the home fries came out cold which was unexpected given the amount of customer turnover! The food was good and service was good. There is really only one waitress today taking orders and she was doing a great job to really personalize the experience for everyone so the service was great. They might want to consider bringing someone in on the weekends to help with the rush! Overall, highly recommend a visit here. And try the orange juice! It’s refreshing!
Karolyn B — Google review
Great food and incredibly affordable considering the wealth and taste of Newport. My cousin and I both enjoyed breakfast later in the day, and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Our only issue with the restaurant was how the main wait staff spoke to our waitress. Our waitress was very sweet but young and the older staff seemed to overcorrect, over explain, and use disrespectful language towards her. While we sat in there, we heard and watched the older staff members accept her being spoken to in a disrespectful way for something extremely minor and used disrespectful language toward the waitress. Just because she is new or young, doesn’t mean you have to be mean! We enjoyed the experience overall, but the service was strange to encounter in such a friendly city.

Louisa was awesome! Taking care of a full dining room by herself. My omelette was good. My husbands crows nest Benedict was very very wet and the eggs were underdone. We got a lemon poppyseed muffin and Louisa recommended having it griddled, and it was quite good.

Nice quaint little restaurant with a small town diner feel. Food was good and the service felt like being served by friends at home recommend anyone looking for a solid breakfast staying in Newport if your sick of the more higher end cafes

My son and I stopped here for a late lunch while we were visiting the mansions in Newport. Great little restaurant that we found by chance. Great service and food. I had the turkey club and my son had the regular turkey sandwich. He also had the fried ice cream which he said was excellent. They really like to push that dessert for everyone to try. They also make fresh baked pies.

Great local diner style restaurant. Felt very welcome from the moment we walked in. Food was very tasty and the service was so friendly. Had the Eggs Fatulli Benedict which is a lobster Benedict. Was surprised by how much lobster was on there. Very good food. Fresh squeezed orange juice too!
Dtown F — Google review
Great place to have your breakfast! Staff is lovely, I felt like we knew each other for a long time. A tiny place but very comfy. The food is good and the menu has the classics of a traditional American breakfast. The difference is with the service for sure. We even decided to have all our breakfasts there. Although small it wasn’t crowded and the price is fair, not expensive.

Atlantic Grille, located in Middletown near Eastons Beach, is a casual hangout known for its notable breakfasts and surf-inspired decor. The menu features a variety of chicken and seafood dishes, but the real highlight is the breakfast offerings. Named the best breakfast in town by Conde Nast Traveler, Atlantic Grille offers unique twists on classic favorites such as Philly cheese steak omelette, Irish benny with corned beef hash, and sweet bread french toast.
The clam chowder was really good. I thought the lobster roll was okay. It wasn't really anything special, and the taste didn't really stand out that much here. I finished it off with an amazing Brownie Sundae that I shared with the family. Waitress was nice and polite. Straightforward with any questions asked.

The breakfast was very good. The portions are large. The spinach omelette and the banana pancakes are delicious. Will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Nice family place with plenty of parking. The food was good, not great. We had tthe artichoke salad and the seafood scampi. Chicken dish was bland, but was the better of the two dishes. Scampi lacked flavor and some of the lobster was too chewy to eat. Service was very good and prices are reasonable.
Jim M — Google review
We decided to stop by here at the end of our vacation. What a treat! Food was delicious. Although the atmosphere is somewhat loud from all the people conversing. Place was packed! No outside tables although they are located right near the ocean. While it is not a place for a romantic dinner, it definitely is for a great meal!

Nachos seemed straight out of a commercial. Service was poor, but could be the staff is worn out due to a long weekend and high tourist rate. Overall, I’d be willing to give this place a second shot, even if only to go for the Nachos!!!! Absolutely insane Nachos!

Great for breakfast or lunch. Great food at a good price. The atmosphere is like a museum with many pictures, old signs, artifacts from the beaches and waterfronts around Newport.

Very good and tasty homemade burgers. The place however was a bit noisy and not entirely pleasant. The food though was very good and affordable in comparison with other restaurants in the area.

I got the baked stuffed Maine Lobster. It was extremely dry and overcooked. I would have sent it back but we waited so long for our food and were hungry so I ate it. It was the worst Maine lobster I have ever had. My boyfriend had a Lobster and bacon quesadilla. Not very good either. The restaurant only had a few people in it so why it took so long we dont know. Our waitress never introduced herself..only checked on us once..and we had to ask for refills on our tea. My boyfriend ordered coleslaw and never got it. At that point we were aggravated..paid our bill and left. We tipped 20 percent despite bad service and food because I never feel comfortable taking away someones wages..$85 dinner..We dont reccommend it and would never go back. No one made us feel welcome. We drove up from Florida and were looking forward to good Maine lobster. Disappointing!

The Hungry Monkey is a cozy daytime spot that offers a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes with playful monkey-themed names. Customers have raved about the delicious Spicy Monkey, Spider Monkey, Southern Style Biscuits, and Swiss Patty Melt. The restaurant's friendly and attentive staff has also received high praise from visitors. Additionally, the establishment's cute ambiance and warm service have left patrons with positive impressions.
If you’re reading this - YES. If you are looking for a shorter line and heartier options to satisfy a bug appetite, then this is the place. The fluffy french toast and tasty sausage patties will leave you begging for more. For solo travelers ir small groups, there is a welcoming bar top area where you can eat alone without the pressure of taking up a table. And if you are a juice purist, the apple and orange juice here should not be slept on at all.

Travellers, the hungry monkey is a fine breakfast/lunch restaurant in downtown Newport. The restaurant is very cute and the service is with a smile. The eggs Benedict were excellent as were the eggs Benedict florentine with spinach and tomatoes. The veggie omelet was delicious as are all the omelets here. The grits left something to be desired. They missed the mark. And the home fries were cold. But check it out. We recommend

Ok place, not what I expected to be, I have heard good things about it and I was disappointed. Food was not great, way too greasy for my taste and not good quality. Establishment Outdated, dusty and very old. Service was fine, server was not attentive as I would expect, place was not busy at all.

If you’re visiting Newport RI, this is your place for excellent breakfast or lunch! The pancakes are absolutely delicious! Crispy bacon and flavorful coffee. The prices are good and the service is excellent, 100% recommend!

I went to The Hungry Monkey with my family for a late lunch and was happy to see many options for my family’s dietary restrictions. In addition the food was tasty when it came out and only took a short moment. I recommend the Salmón Bagel as the fish was really fresh and they allow you to make it yourself so you get all the best parts you enjoy.

I usually eat at The Atlantic Grille, which has been my brunch favorite for 30+ years. I tried The Hungry Monkey last week and it was pretty good. Had the Spider Monkey w/2 eggs over easy. Service was good and I think the owner was there which is always a good sign. I just thought there was a bit too much salt(for me) in the corned beef hash and home fries. If you like a lot of salt than even better for you.

Really good food in a great location in Newport. Came for breakfast and plenty of traditional diner options as well as some twists. The hollandaise was one of the best I ever had. I was served quickly but never offered a refill on my coffee or checked on after getting my food despite it not being busy, otherwise would have been 5 stars. Servers were friendly, just not very attentive.

Our experience at the hungry monkey was very poor. It took us 50 minutes to get our food, of which we needed to take in boxes as the long wait was going to put us late for our appointment. Cristy, our server was less than Pleasant, the table was very dirty and sticky, my arm and phone stuck to the table. Some of the food was good, some of it was not! Overall, we were very disappointed and would not recommend it.

We dropped in to have some yummy cocktails and dessert. And how did we enjoy this place! We all had great drinks which was perfect, well balanced and tasty. We ordered the cheesecake and the hot toffee pudding, and honestly the hot toffee pudding is something else!!! Quite warm, gooey, and comforting. Would highly recommend this place!

Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!

My fiance and I went in Monday for dinner on our honeymoon and I have to say we were blown away. She got the Potato pizza and I had the Drs Orders burger (complete with syringe full of queso). The food was phenomenal, the restaurant itself was also very aesthetically pleasing, and the staff and live jazz band performing made it an even more enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a cool spot with a creative menu and good live music in Newport I’d recommend this place hands down.

Never a bad experience! Spacious and open in summer, dim and cozy in winter. There is often live music, too. The menu is excellent, with something for everyone including wood fired pizza. The fried mushrooms are an absolute must even for those who think they don’t like mushrooms. Trust me on this! Great vibe, great service, nice long fully stocked bar, and very cool bathrooms. Trendy but inviting and always a diverse mix of ages and people. I always tell visitors to try this place. My insta: gabriel_giella

Had an incredible dinner last night. After traveling from NY for hours, we stopped here a half hour before they closed. Our server was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable and accommodating even being the last table. Loved the decor, the cocktails were wonderful, and the food was Sofa. King. Fantastic! Amazing flavors, hearty portions, and beautiful presentation. Even though we were just passing through, I would seriously plan to revisit Newport just to eat here again. Bravo.

American restaurant
Zelda's Newport is a casual cafe specializing in American cuisine. The wine cellar is quite large, with a fine collection of French, American and Italian wines. The intimate and sophisticated atmosphere make it a great place to dine with friends or family. Reservations are highly recommended.
Very pleasant experience, the place was rather packed by the time we left it, but when seated we were offered more private section. The food was very good and the choice of craft beer is decent. Lobster fish cakes and calamari are my favorites. Snails were more plain, would not advise. Wedge salad is good too.

Great casual place - had burgers and beer. We were there on a Wednesday, and they had an irresistible combo deal: burger + draft beer $21. Loved the interior and the vibe. Excellent service by our waiter too!

It was Saturday evening before Easter Sunday, extremely busy. I had 1 of their signature cocktails, Rum 44 Daiquiri it was strong and a little tart. Then I had clam chowder, everyone likes it different, it was good to my taste. Then then the Pear and Brie Salad, it was out of this world good. It’s a casual place , no dress up needed. The bartenders were friendly, maybe could have been a little more engaging. But it was busy so I kept 4 stars. It is very noisy, which is to be expected.

Worth making a reservation for a busy Fri or Sat supper! We dined on Sunday night at 7 pm. No problem getting in, but we did make a reservation! Kind, courteous, professional team that served us . Food was terrific. NE clam chowder was excellent. Creme brulee for dessert was yummy! This place is one of our regular stops during our summer weekend to Newport!

AMAZING! I had the pleasure of eating twice at Zelda's on Thames in Newport Ri. The four of us had a clam chowder (excellent) , a stuffed clams (amazing), a pizza and Jamaican Caribbean wings. I'm from NY and not a fan of bad pizza... I had two slices! Love the pizza. The service was excellent as the bartenders Paul Kaitlyn, Mike are true professionals and on top of their game. Very nice vibe and a great atmosphere. Since being a Mortgage banking for 42 years, I've eaten at the best restaurants. Before mortgage banking, I worked in a restaurant as a chef and also owned a restaurant. With my background as an Italian Sicilian foodie , I think I know good food. A clean restroom usually indicates a clean kitchen. They have a clean restroom✔️ It's my neighborhood bar and I make sure I get there early in order to get a seat lol I can't wait to go back. This is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend them👍🏼

Drift Cafe is a great place for a quick meal or beverage to take out. The model is to order at the cashier then find a table for the food to be served. Waitstaff very accommodating and added to our order after we sat down to avoid having to stand in the growing line. Breakfast fare very hearty and smoothies very smooth. Restrooms clean. Decent variety on the menu and food very good.

Drift Café is a must-stop when you're in Newport. Their smoothie bowls are fresh, colorful, and absolutely hit the spot, and their oat bowls are just as crave-worthy—creamy, wholesome, and perfectly balanced. The coffee was just as memorable—especially with the cookie dough creamer (yes, it’s as good as it sounds!). Bonus points for the Biggie lyrics setting the mood—chill vibes, great flavors, and the perfect morning spot by for a quick breakfast.

This is a truly horrible place. They discriminate against people with disabilities that bring in their service animals which is a federal crime. They need to be sued because of this. The videos are all over the internet. And the food absolutely sucks and it is dirty as hell. They need a good lawsuit and to be shut down for a good cleaning. This place needs to be put out of buisiness.

Extremely dirty. Counter sitting has knee slime all along the base of the counter from people's knees hitting the wall. Floors along the kitchen have a thick crust of food. The little alcove that houses the bathroom has a broom that is thick with grease as well as the floor. The waitress seems nice but not attentive to customers. We had to ask for more coffee, extra napkins, ice for the water she gave me. Now on to the food. My potatoes had tons of burnt bits in them. Not sure what it was. I asked for over medium eggs they looked weird. Not sure what the orange/ rust color stuff was that was all over them. I asked for well done toast. What I received was not well it was a weird kind of cook yet it was soggy. With also red stuff on it. Nothing i ordered was red. Although my husband did order chourico which looked like linguicia. It didn't taste like chourico either but the waitress assured us it was and that the brand was Michaels. He asked for scrambled hard and he received eggs that hadn't been scrambled because the egg whites were visible. I've tried this spot before and it wasn't any better than it just seems worse. Unfortunate to let a business run itself into the ground. Side note the older gentleman cooking seems super nice.

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection is a luxurious hotel housed in a 1909 mansion originally built by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt. The property boasts stylish rooms with kitchenettes, a spa, and two pools - both indoor and outdoor. The hotel exudes grandeur with museum-quality artwork, roaring fireplaces, and fabulous dining options.
An incredible dining experience at the Green Room at the Vanderbilt! We had such a wonderful time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a kind and attentive staff member who guided us to our table. Although the patio was closed for the day due to the weather, we enjoyed an impeccable view of Trinity Church. Our server, Cindy, introduced herself and made us feel very welcome. She was not only kind and professional but also very personable. After she offered us a selection of coffee or tea, we decided to order a bottle of sparkling wine along with a cheese platter. Cindy was outstanding, consistently ensuring that our wine glasses were refilled. This level of service is rare and highly valued. As locals and regulars, we truly appreciate how Vanderbilt shows hospitality and cares for its guests. Overall, we enjoyed a great snack accompanied by even better service! Great job, Cindy! We truly appreciate you! Srdan D.

Stopped in for a cocktail in the lower restaurant and the rooftop sunset with friends. Everyone working there was exceptional and helpful in hospitality....except one waitress on the rooftop bar who was rather rude; tried to kind of make up for it but the experience was already soured. Other than that, the snack we got was fresh and delicious; just should have come with a utensil. All else was good.
Elct00 — Google review
From the moment we arrived, our stay at the Vanderbilt hotel was nothing short of perfection. The staff greeted us with a warmth that made us feel instantly at home, and the check-in process was seamless. Our room was an elegant retreat, beautifully decorated with a blend of historical charm and modern luxury. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the crisp, high-thread-count linens to the stunning view of Newport from our window. The hotel's amenities truly set it apart. The indoor pool was a serene escape, and the spa services were rejuvenating. We especially loved the rooftop bar, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city and harbor—the perfect spot for a sunset cocktail. The location is ideal, placing us within easy walking distance of Newport's best shops, restaurants, and historical mansions. The dining experience was a highlight. The in-house restaurant served a delicious and innovative menu, and the complimentary breakfast was a delightful start to each day, offering a selection of fresh, locally sourced options. Every meal felt special and well-curated. What truly makes the Vanderbilt a five-star experience is the exceptional service. The team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering thoughtful recommendations and anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. It’s clear they take immense pride in their work. This is more than just a hotel; it’s an experience we can't wait to repeat. We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next visit. Tesla charger on the property free of charge.

I truly don’t know where to start with this hotel. We had our small 40 person wedding here 9/27/25 and not only is Sara amazing (event manager) but the other staff is astounding! To start, Sara worked with us for about 10 mos until our wedding day and was very responsive via email and even met us on a day she was not working to show us around the inside/outside of the building to give us ideas for our events. Secondly, during our 3 night stay the staff was amazing all around. Rooms and shared rooms (like the library) are spotless. The front desk staff and other staff just walking around know you by name and what room you are staying in which makes you feel important! Lastly, the food was incredible. Aside from our wedding food, we ate here several times during our stay and it is apparent that the quality is there. We are truly looking forward to our anniversary (or sooner) for another reason to stay here.

The Vanderbilt Hotel in Newport is an absolute gem! The common areas are stunning, with elegant decor that perfectly captures the charm of Newport. Our room was comfortable, beautifully appointed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight, though, was the rooftop bar—sipping cocktails while watching the sunset over the harbor was unforgettable! The staff truly made our experience exceptional. Said and the valet team were incredibly friendly and attentive, always greeting us with a smile and ensuring every detail was handled seamlessly. Amy, Ivan, and Darby went above and beyond, providing outstanding service and making us feel so welcome. They were especially thoughtful with our dog, always ensuring fresh water was available, which meant the world to us. We can’t wait to return to this wonderful hotel!

We had the most delightful stay in Newport at the Vanderbilt. I cannot stress enough what an absolute gem of a human Gaby was. She made us feel like friends, not guests, and was able to accommodate any minor request we had. The property itself was so special and the outdoor spaces were filled with hydrangeas. For location, it was a 2 min walk to downtown and about 7-10 min walk to most restaurants we wanted to go to. Highly recommend staying here! Food was great and rooftop was so nice for drinks.
Amber B — Google review
We enjoyed every second of our one-night March stay, which was booked through the AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts program. All benefits were clearly laid out at check-in and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the hotel, as well as the goodies offered in the mini bar. The greeting at check-in—by both the concierge and front desk—was truly memorable, as they each went over the top to welcome us to Newport and make sure any questions we had were answered. It was apparent they genuinely love their jobs and city, and that passion was contagious. Our upgraded room was beautiful, and we arrived to a welcome note and chocolates sitting on the table. In a town full of luxury, I would choose The Vanderbilt every time.
Josh F — Google review
We enjoyed our time in Newport, but expected more from The Vanderbilt. While the staff were very kind and welcoming, the service overall didn’t reflect typical Auberge standards. The rooms were extremely comfortable—especially the beds, which were wonderful. However, the food was underwhelming and didn’t meet our expectations.

I got a Corned Beef Ruben and my wife got the Sea Side Ruben. Both were FANTASTIC!! (They corn the beef in-house!) The fries were hot, battered and crispy. I saw a pizza at a neighboring table that looked great. If I get back here it will be high on my list. Service was super friendly and attentive. And the menu was full of variety. Been to Newport many times over the past 25+ yrs but had never been to Tickets until this visit & went twice because it was so good!! The fish & chips (ordered twice), chorizo mac & cheese, caesar salad with a side of steak & the surf & turf were all delicious!! Also ordered a pitcher of the pineapple cake mimosas, really good!! Will definitely visit again next year when I return! Outside seating with a service dog was great!! First visit were offered a bowl of water for the dog, second visit no offer, so only 4 stars on the service.

The food was great—I had the lobster roll and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the meal. I had to ask another waiter just to get a water refill, and my server (Tori5, as listed on the receipt) never checked in after taking my order. I would’ve ordered another drink, but never got the chance. I noticed she was very friendly with other tables, which made the lack of attention even more noticeable. Disappointing, especially considering I’m a guest at the hotel they own across the street.

MainSail is an upscale American restaurant with a modern nautical theme, offering stunning harbor views. Guests have praised the accommodating and friendly staff, particularly mentioning Samantha's exceptional service. The menu features delectable dishes such as calamari, wedge salad, lobster tortellini, baked scallops, fish & chips, and shrimp poboy. Visitors also appreciate the delicious avocado toast and well-crafted coffee.
Nice restaurant in the Newport Marriott Hotel and Spa. Staff is friendly and food is pretty good. Recommend the avocado toast and All-American breakfast option. Beautiful views of the water by the windows and cute dining tables that resemble boats. Simple and easy access in the hotel. Now for my standard comments. Very comfortable indoors and there is plenty of room in the dining area

We went there because we had a 20% off coupon. Also, we tried to make a reservation for 6 or 6:30 pm, but supposedly nothing was available. So we made reservations for 5:30. At no time was the restaurant ever full. Since they had just opened again for dinner, the first thing that was upsetting was that the menu listed under the Marriott/ Mainsail website is not the current menu at all. The current menu is very limited and consits of 13 items, 3 of them being Desserts. The waitress was very nice and tried what she could to please us. The food at the end was pretty good. The duck was cooked perfectly. The Hake I was told was also good. The steak cooked perfectly but a little Salty.

I don’t recommend the old fashioned drink it was watered down. Steaks were okay and so with the tuna bowl, however the charred octopus was really good. Great service overall.

Our waitress was excellent- attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely return again.

Wait staff was very rude. They seemed angry. The manager seemed nice, but isn't watching closely enough. No water refills. No smiles. I personally said thank you to two members of the wait staff upon receiving my food. No response. Rude interactions between the wait staff and members of my party. Food was below average. How does this place have over 4 stars?!?! Why does Marriott tolerate it? Worst restaurant experience in awhile. Run far away!

Great evening with a beautiful view! Calamari, wedge salad, lobster tortellini and baked scallops...yum. Good selection of drinks and BOGO free entrees!

Food was incredible, service was awful and none of the staff seemed to care. Watched other tables walk out because no one came to take their order. The kicker is there was only 4 other tables when we were there.

Kaffeology Coffee-Bakery is a charming spot located at 359 Thames St. in Newport, offering a unique and artsy atmosphere. Despite limited seating, the place is clean and inviting. The menu boasts a variety of delicious food items and an array of tasty drink options, including mocha and mint dark chocolate cold brew. Visitors praise the friendly customer service and recommend trying the breakfast BLT along with the delightful milkshakes.
Small but cozy place to get coffee. Interesting options and tastes great! I recommend the Milky Way Coffee". Regular coffee was good too. Not too expensive and the customer service was good. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Rhode Island!

We made a quick stop in here on our recent Newport vacation. We were trying as many coffee shops as we could! The Milky Way coffee from here was excellent and the cafe is adorable and so beautifully decorated. I liked that they had some local goods for sale as well. My husband didn’t enjoy his chai as much as I enjoyed my coffee and the barista was less than friendly, but it wouldn’t stop me from returning.

This is a great spot for breakfast paired with a good cup of coffee. The lunch menu was delicious too! We also got to try some refreshing and flavorful drinks—they were a nice surprise!

The Greek Lemon Chicken Bowl with extra dressing was divine - I absolutely INHALED it! My lavender latte was lovely, with just the right balance of delicate lavender syrup and espresso. I look forward to checking it out in person the next time I'm in town!

Newport & Cranston locations are friendly and wonderful (Portsmouth is very much not friendly and quite rude - avoid if you can). I love this location!

The breakfast tacos were delicious but way smaller than I expected. Coffee was good.

Great menu. One of the best matcha lattes I’ve had. I can tell the quality of matcha is very high. Also the lavender latte was very good and not too sweet. Also the smoked salmon bagel sandwich is a winner too. If you don’t like mayo remember to request it to be removed when you order. Kateri was awesome with her service which she delivered with patience, kindness and efficiency. Centrally located in downtown Newport. Skip the chain coffee spots and get your drink here if you are in town.

Overall i love this place! We always drive by and wanted to try out, turned out to be one of my favorite coffee shop now! Drinks: We ordered iced matcha strawberry latte, and a hot Milky Way latte. The strawberry matcha was so good the presentation was great, the flavor was amazing! Would love a little more of actual strawberries but that’s just my preference. Milky Way was great as well. Food: We got a sweet potato burrito bowl, a mashroom filled denish(?), and brownies. Their brownies were so good that we had to go get another one! My husband usually doesn’t like salad looking bowls, but he liked this one and that surprised me! Service/atmosphere: The staff were kind and very helpful! I always (😅) forget to ask for non dairy milk so I really appreciated them asking me if whole milk was okay!! Cute interior, but not much space inside so you want to plan to just take out. it’s lucky if you find a seat!

Hotel Viking is an elegant historic hotel located in Newport, offering luxurious accommodations, a spa, a restaurant, indoor pool, and rooftop bar. The hotel has a rich history as it used to be the lodging for VIP guests during the Gilded Age. Guests can enjoy champagne and fresh-shucked oysters on the garden patio or savor Dark and Stormies with a view at the Top of Newport bar. The spa offers Balinese- and Thai-inspired treatments for ultimate relaxation.
We have stayed at the Viking many times before so let’s start with the positives. Amazing cannot be beat location, wonderful staff including front desk, cleaning, valet and restaurant. Complimentary water and bicycles and terrific coffee spot inside the hotel. But having seen the hotel many times before I believe it has gone down. Gone are the many towels, bathrobes, slippers and yes even good toilet paper. No chair anymore in estate rooms. We were on 3rd floor and sound from those above us on 4 travels all too well. Faucet was dislodging from the sink, remote on tv didn’t work and sheets had some old stains. Will we come back again? Yes but the price point does not reflect the state of the hotel. You pay for location.
Irene G — Google review
If I could give this place negative five stars I would. Clearly all the disingenuous responses back from hotel staff hasn’t changed anything as I experienced all the same things I read in other reviews. 1) A/C in room doesn’t work. I called the front desk and stopped by 4 times over 2 days. Their explanation is that the circuit kept tripping and I guess somehow that was my problem? 2) Beds are not comfortable and small, pillows are lumpy, ended up getting 10 hours of sleep over 2 nights. Not fun when on a business trip. 3) $45 for overnight valet parking. Which is literally your only option, unless you want to walk a .5 mile and risk parking on poorly signed roads where you don’t quite know where parking is allowed. 4) Generally low value for your money. If it wasn’t a work trip, I would have demanded a new room immediately or moved to another hotel. As others have said…stay away if possible. There are plenty of other excellent B&B’s and hotels in Newport to choose from where they actually care about their guests.
Matt R — Google review
We stayed at the Viking Hotel in Newport, RI from September 6–8. While the property has a historic charm and a convenient location, our overall experience fell far short of expectations given the price point. Booking & Check-In Booking was confusing — rooms appeared available online, but when we called the hotel, they claimed no rooms were open and couldn’t see the same availability we found. Check-in itself was easy, but we were surprised to learn that parking is valet-only at $45 per night, a detail not mentioned on the website. No information was provided about hotel amenities or local recommendations at arrival. Room Experience We stayed in a two-room suite that felt old and poorly maintained. The room had visible water damage on the ceiling that was damp to the touch. The air conditioners were noisy, housed in makeshift wooden boxes propped up with scrap wood. On the positive side, the bed and linens were comfortable. Bathroom The bathroom setup was awkward and uncomfortable. The sink was in a small hallway with no mirror, and the toilet and shower were behind a glass door that offered no privacy. The shower door repeatedly hit the tile sill, and we worried the glass might break. Dining We tried both lunch and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. While the food was decent, service was extremely slow — at times, no staff was even visible in the dining room. Spa & Facilities We booked massages at the spa, which were expensive but underwhelming. My hot stone massage barely involved hot stones. The hot tub jets were not functioning, and the indoor pool was uncomfortably cold. Service & Housekeeping On a positive note, the staff was consistently friendly and housekeeping did a good job keeping the room tidy during our stay. Location & Atmosphere The hotel is well-situated, perched at the top of the hill near the mansions and within walking distance to attractions. The rooftop bar with large fire pits and comfortable seating was a highlight. The property itself has historic character, and we were told renovations are planned — which are certainly needed. Overall Impression Unfortunately, the stay was not worth the premium price paid. While the location and friendliness of the staff were positives, the outdated rooms, poor spa experience, and lack of transparency about parking detracted significantly. I would not stay here again until after renovations are completed.

Within 15 minutes of getting to our room, the mirror in the bathroom fell off the wall, breaking parts of it. We upgraded to a suite. Room/suite had a window pane that was falling out. My husband fixed it with bandaids. We told the man at the front desk thinking management would get someone to come and fix it. Never happened. Luckily the pane remained the 4 days we were there. Room was okay… very dated. Food in the restaurant was good. Service was adequate. Valet service was good. Very pretty hotel upon entering. Definitely needs to be cleaned up and updated which we understood will begin November 2-April or May 2026. Many small details need be addressed. Could be a 5 star hotel.

Avoid unless forced by a wedding booking. Was here for a black tie wedding in Newport. This place is living on its reputation. It’s a dump. Bathroom had mold, cracks in the ceiling and broken tiles. Sink is in the closet. Rooms are tiny and musty. Location is great but paying $45 to park on top of a moldy shower is terrible.

My husband and I booked and paid one night here while traveling from Bar Harbor to Virginia to split up the trip. On the Saturday afternoon of our reservation at 2pm in the middle of August they sent an email to me saying that they could not honor our reservation. They did not call or text. When I saw the email one hour later I called them four times and each time explained to them about the email I received asking if it was spam and they put me on hold and then hung up each time. The fifth time I called , a man at the desk spoke to me and said he was sorry there was nothing they could do and they would not help me find a different hotel or provide anything for the trouble. He said that one of the rooms had been damaged so we could not stay with them. I have never encountered a hotel as unprofessional as this one. NO ONE SHOULD EVER MAKE A RESERVATION WITH THEM BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR. TRULY A NIGHTMARE. I would recommend going to Mystic instead… a much cuter friendlier personable town with adorable shops and excellent dining choices. I called our favorite inn there The Whalers Inn and they were booked but they actually called around and found us a room at a hotel near by. Never visiting Newport again!!
Robin F — Google review
It was my first time in Newport for a work conference and I really have to thank hotel Viking for convincing me to never go back to that town again. Had a horrible stay in a room that had a vibrating sound in the floor all night. The rooms were definitely not 5 star quality and they should take away that false advertising. Nothing about this hotel spoke 5 star let alone 4 star. Now the worst part of this stay was the customer service. I checked out a day earlier due to a family emergency and I spoke with the front desk. They printed out a bill with my final price of about $500 and I left. The next day, I received a charge of $1200 on my credit card and I tried to call the front desk but no one picked up the phone. I proceeded to try calling 4-5 times a day for the next 3 weeks and still no answer. When I finally reached someone, he said he they had a contract with the company so had to charge for the full weekend which when I checked out- the guy did not mention that so I was already annoyed. Then he told me he would email me the receipt and so I hung up and trusted him. It’s been 2 more weeks and still no email from them of the final bill. Please stay away from this hotel if you’re trying to be scammed. Ive been staying at hotels for work and personal for a very long time and this hotel might be worst than red roof inn. At least at red roof inn, I can still get my final bill.

Definitely no longer a five star hotel. Rooms look a little beat up and run down very few amenities for a high-end room no slippers no robes no toiletry kits. Nothing just soap and shampoo in pump bottles. Rooftop bar, old furniture smelly cushions was not open the hours they stated. Great central location. Breakfast was good.

Located at the end of Bannisters Wharf, overlooking Newport harbor, Coffee Grinder is a charming espresso bar and coffee shop offering a cozy nook with outdoor seating and ocean views. This unique spot provides an opportunity to enjoy frozen coffee drinks while watching the sunset from adirondack chairs on the dock.
Popped in a couple of times during a weekend getaway. Had a double espresso and a Cortado. Shots were perfectly pulled. Espresso is smooth, not burnt (like most of the corporate chain coffee shops). Prices are what you’d expect from any high end coffee place. Owner/barista is outgoing and chatty, both passionate & knowledgeable of all things coffee. Reviews here seem mixed. If the quality of your coffee drink is unimportant, there’s Dunks and Starbucks nearby, where they will be more than happy to add 3 pumps of this or six pumps of that to drown out their god-awful tasting coffee.

This woman closed her other location, but surprise! She's back! Same scam, different place! $5.95 for a small cold brew... plus $1 for ice, $1 for milk, and $1 for flavor. I didn’t realize coffee shops were going à la carte now. The pastries are straight from a wholesale box, but sure—charge bakery prices. If you enjoy paying premium prices for Costco vibes, this is your spot. AVOID.
Lisa — Google review
I wish I had read the reviews before spending my money here. Two bagels toasted with cream cheese almost $18! The bagels themselves were over $6 each, plus $1 each for cream cheese and $1 each for getting them toasted. The bagels were disappointing, seemed more like they were microwaved rather than toasted. The amount of cream cheese was embarrassing. The other coffee shops in the area had lines out the door- this place was nearly empty. Should’ve known. Would not recommend.

The Coffee Grinder, in the heart of walkable downtown Newport Rhode Island, offers multiple coffee, tea, and other drinks, as well as food options. The service is superb: friendly, upbeat, and efficient. A public restroom is available in the building, down a back hallway, to customers. My daughter and I were both more than satisfied with the experience. Even though the Coffee Grinder does not focus on establishing heavy social media presence the way other coffee houses in Newport seem to do, the core reality is that the coffee is top-notch and the prices within range of similar coffee houses. We went here only because the coffee house my daughter picked out due to social media reviews had a line about half a block down, and by serendipity we were fortunate to find the Coffee Grinder: no long wait, great drinks, and in a classically restored older building near the waterfront. The counter person, Alyssa, was friendly and a joy to interact with as she knows her craft well.

We came late and the owner was there. She did an amazing job and making sure that we had what we wanted, extremely great conversation and what a wonderful little coffee shop. Went back in the area. This is the only place that will grab our brew!

SCAM, they talked you in, and charged extra for everything, including ice without mentioning any of the extra charges in advance. Not transparent about the price. We attached the receipt for future consumers to refer to. Besides, we don't taste coffee at all after adding two shots of Expresso. You can see how diluted the coffee is from the picture we attached. If you want good coffee, go to Nitro whose large latte is quad shots without extra charging and ice for free, less than $8 after tax!

Love this place. We were here visiting for a few days and I came here every chance I got. All the pastries are made fresh there and the coffees are so good. I’d recommend the espresso macchiato if you want a little shot of coffee and make sure to get a chocolate croissant! Those croissants were the best I’ve ever had!
Jacqui V — Google review
This is THE MOST EXPENSIVE coffee you'll ever NOT ENJOY! No prices are advertised! Buyer beware! We purchased an iced mocha with whip on top. It was almost $14. We asked the LOUD sales lady if she made a mistake? NO, she responded, and began to defend her prices with an explanation of "imported Italian coffee". SERIOUSLY...I've had 100% peaberry Kona coffee at the plantation for much less. Don't make the mistake that we made and stop here for service with a smile, or a fair priced coffee!!

The hotel features chic rooms, lofts, and cottages with stunning waterfront views. Guests can enjoy luxurious amenities such as soaking tubs, spa showers, and fireplaces. The property also boasts an award-winning restaurant and a lively bar for guests to unwind.
My husband and I went for dinner to celebrate our anniversary! Christian the bartender makes the most amazing drinks! Srdan was the best waiter very attentive and knowledgeable. Norman the Restaurant Manager was very friendly and cordial and followed up with us a few times. We shared the Tomahawk and had 2 sides. It was by far the best tasting beef I have ever tasted. Cheers to the Chef and all those we mentioned that made our time at 41 North the most amazing experience.

I’ll start with the good. The location is perfect, walkable to restaurants and shops. The rooms are nice and have comfortable beds and showers. However, I would not choose to stay here again and that is due to the lack of service and basic amenities. I was in a group that had multiple rooms and our experiences varied widely. One night we’d get bottled water for turn down service, the next we’d get tap, or we’d get no turn down at all. Only one of the three rooms we had had a hair dryer. None had an ironing board. One day they forgot to stock towels in our room and I left the property for multiple hours, when I returned the towels still had not been stocked. They offer free rides in their “service car” which was a filthy car covered in crumbs all over the seats. It was dirty enough that my group decided to pay for Ubers instead of using the complimentary service. All in all I’d say it’s a shame, because the property is fabulous, but they’ve got alot of work to do in terms of service. I definitely feel I spent too much on this hotel for what I received.

A wonderful experience. The hotel is walkable to everything, the rooms were immaculate and we felt like a valued guest from the moment we arrived. The outdoor bar/restaurant scene was one of the better experiences we’ve had in our travels. We will absolutely come back for an extended stay.

We held a family dinner ahead of our wedding. The staff could not have been more accommodating - we were able to choose between sitting outside or using the more private wine room (we chose the wine room based on the weather). All of our servers were attentive and charming and the manager stopped by to check on us, too. The food was fantastic and it was a terrific night overall.

Our server Amanda was extremely accommodating. I am visually impaired and needed her help describing menu items. I ended up taking her recommendation for the tomahawk and the spicy margarita. 10/10 all in all amazing dining experience and impeccable. I will be coming back and recommending this place to all of my friends.

We were here to visit a friend of mine from culinary school. He has a boat that he doc here for the summer. We did not stay in the rooms, so I can't rate those. The service was excellent. The staff was quick, friendly, and very attentive. They even bring the food to the boat. If you're in Newport and want a drink, food, or a place to stay, I would recommend 41 North.

Last night the wife and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at The Grill. We called 2 weeks prior to make 630 reservations and let them know we were celebrating. We got there and had to wait for someone to acknowledge we were there. Staff walking by ignored us. Finally someone got around to us. After we got to our table, they brought water and asked if we would like a champagne toast for our anniversary, which I thought was nice. Two glasses of champagne came, and It went downhill from there. We waited at least 20 min for her to return to ask if we wanted anything to drink. But before she returned, they seated 2 older couples next to us, 15 min after we got there, which she took care of taking their drink order, went and put in their order, then decided to come see us. We asked for a wine list and waited for that. Then she takes the order for people next to us, while we are still waiting for the wine list. We finally ordered our wine and she took our entire order all at once, which I found weird. Then the older couples next to us started saying stuff about us out loud so we could hear and giving us dirty looks, which made us very uncomfortable. We were sitting having a conversation and started being criticized and mocked. This continued the entire night. When the oysters and “crispy calamari “ arrived, the oysters were awesome, but the calamari was cold and soggy. We didn’t send it back because we just waited over 1/2 hr for it and we were hungry. It was now 745. For an entree, we ordered the 22oz bone in NY Strip, medium. It took over an hr to get and it was raw, like not even cooked. The older couples had eaten, got dessert, the check and we hadn’t even gotten our meal. Our waitress basically ignored us but seemed to take care of everyone else, asking if everything was ok, pouring wine, but ignoring us. Finally she came back to see how the steak was. When I told her the issues if the night, she apologized with an attitude and asked if we wanted another steak. Now it was 8:40, our reservations were at 630 and we just got our raw steak. A couple came in and was seated behind us an hr after us and got there meal 5 min after us. Our waitress was attentive to everyone except us. You guys completely ruined our anniversary dinner!!! When asked what we wanted, I said I want this all comped. We did not pay for anything. They at least honored that. I don’t know what the problem was, but you need some better experienced staff, and you were not even that busy. I will never set foot there again. A total waste of time. Thanks for ruining our night!!!

Lobby, bar and restaurant were all pleasant for a small boutique hotel. The rooms were very run down for what is considered a 4 star hotel. We were there for a wedding and booked 3 rooms for 3 nights. Somehow our rate was double everyone else at event. So beware!! We were given 2 regular small king rooms with parking lot views and one loft which is in building next to hotel. It was like a college dorm apartment! They could not move our third room back into the hotel. Front desk was not accommodating in any way. We never saw a manager. Very very disappointing! We spent a lot of money. 3 rooms for 3 nights! Would never recommend this hotel.

Nestled within the historic Hotel Viking on the renowned Bellevue Avenue, One Bellevue is a charming bistro that captures the essence of New England dining. This refined eatery specializes in delectable steaks and fresh seafood, all while offering an inviting atmosphere perfect for any occasion. Guests can indulge in creative cocktails and fine wines as they savor dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients by Executive Chef Simone.
An afternoon tea experience to remember! From the moment we stepped into the stunning, historic hotel on Bellevue Avenue in Newport, we were transported to a world of elegance and charm. The atmosphere was breathtaking, with intricate details and timeless décor that perfectly set the stage for our tea. Angela, our guide for the afternoon, was simply outstanding. Her in-depth knowledge of the six teas we sampled added a rich layer to the experience. Each tea had its own story, and Angela’s passion shone through as she expertly explained the varying caffeine levels and unique flavor profiles. Her recommendations were spot on, and every sip was delightful. The tea tower was a masterpiece, both visually and gastronomically. The bottom tier featured savory delights that perfectly balanced the sweetness to come. The middle tier was a celebration of tradition, with perfectly baked scones and a standout lemon blueberry pound cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful. But the crown jewel was the cranberry scone—heavenly, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The top tier was a whimsical indulgence, featuring colorful macarons, an exquisite éclair, and a raspberry cake that was as delicious as it was artfully crafted. Each bite was a testament to the skill and care that went into creating this magical spread. The combination of Angela’s knowledge, the impeccable flavors, and the stunning ambiance made this afternoon tea an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Newport or looking for a sophisticated yet cozy way to spend an afternoon. Five stars are simply not enough!

We got room service from here. There is a 6 dollar delivery fee and an automatic 20% gratitude. Neither of us liked the pizza, but the meal did come quickly and was well plated. The fries were very good. It’s a bit pricey but honestly what’s to be expected in the area.

Bit of a hidden gem. This place is not in one of the main restaurant areas but is located in the Hotel Viking so if you weren't aware it was there, you could easily overlook, but we're so glad we did not! The drinks and food were all amazing and we loved that they took some classics but added unique elements to them (I especially loved their take on the Burrata salad!). We went at an off time so was slower but it's lovely restaurant and hotel. Service was super friendly and helpful - thank you James and Angela! We'll definitely come back our next time to Newport.

Delayed review but 5 star experience for Valentine’s Day dinner! The service was so great and staff was super friendly and attentive. I attended a Galentine’s Day tea here. The atmosphere was relaxed & each table was beautifully arranged. The food & tea were both delicious & the complimentary valet was convenient. As far as service, I felt a little neglected as I noticed that other tables were offered milk for their tea & another glass of wine. I wasn’t offered either. The service team, however, was nice.

My wife and I both got burgers which were very good. The house salad was also good. They offer a limited menu during the week. The martini was disappointing. The smallest martini glass I've ever seen, for $15! They also offered a cool mock tail selection. Also very expensive considering

The Viking hotel is on the national registry of historic hotels. The exterior facade is absolutely stunning-beautiful brick building located in a perfect setting to walk everywhere. There is vallet parking which is included in the price so taking advantage of that is a must. The inside of the building is grand, big, old with a mix of new and the management takes pride in the way the building looks. The indoor pool and hot tub are large enough, though the carpet in the pool area is unsanitary and should be replaced with tile. The gym is a good size as well and all the recreational facilities can be used at any time. Aside from the view of Newport and the ocean from our room, this was the least impressive part of the hotel. The room was very tight and really uncomfortable once they brought a bed on wheels there for use as the third bed. Overall a pleasant experience and a bargain for three nights and I would definitely stay there again.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Viking during my recent trip to Newport, RI, and I was instantly transported to the Gilded Age. My first day, while it poured outside, I ventured into the bar at One Bellevue. Initially, I was in the mood for tea, but the Gimlet on the menu caught my eye and felt perfectly in tune with the Gilded Age vibe I was seeking after visiting The Breakers. Lincoln, the bartender, crafted the most exquisite Gimlet—a perfectly balanced mix of tart, sweet, and a hint of gin. It was so delightful that I decided the Gimlet would be my drink for the vacation, if not the entire summer! Throughout my stay, I sampled Gimlets at various spots, including The Mooring, where it was just okay, and 22 Bowen's, where it was better. However, none could compare to the perfection of the Gimlet at One Bellevue. I had to return for another before my trip ended. I cannot recommend One Bellevue, Lincoln, and their exceptional Gimlet enough. It truly encapsulated the elegance and charm of Newport's historic allure.

Starbucks is a coffee shop chain that is popular for its signature roasts, light bites and WiFi availability. If you're looking for a place to relax and recovery from your nightlife, Starbucks may be the perfect choice.
The staff was super friendly! Nice and clean inside. Highly recommend this location.

McKayla is more than a barista, she’s an incredible human being! She was taking out the trash in the pouring rain when she noticed me struggling to get in the door with my larger stroller. She stopped what she was doing to make sure my son and I got in safely. She goes above and beyond to make sure all customers are happy before they even enter Starbucks- that’s an incredibly wonderful thing to have in an employee!

Very cute :)) the baristas were soo sweet and they wrote rly cute messages too!

We went ahead and hiked about 15 minutes because this was the only Starbucks that was open till 8 PM. We actually arrived at 7:30 PM and we were dying for a cup of hot coffee. And shock that we were told that they already cleaned out the coffee pots and we’re no longer serving hot coffee, but we could have Iced coffee or anything with like an espresso shot. It’s disappointing to have walk so far and then to find out that they literally stop serving hot coffee and cleaning up all of their equipment even before 7:30 since we were there at 7:30 So if you’re dying for a hot cup of coffee and do you think you’re gonna get one hereat night guess again because it’s not gonna happen I’ve never been to a Starbucks that was like that and I sure know Dunkin’ Donuts serves until the last minute
Frank D — Google review
Very convenient location. Nice atmosphere inside. Large windows are good. Relatively lots of space to sit. Priced as any other Starbucks. Fast service and good quality. Only negative that about 45 min prior to closing they removed all bakery from display. There was enough of prepackaged food on display. Nothing local is sold there. They should try better to connect better with community. Clean bathroom. Due to location there was always a line. We liked upper level a lot. There is good sized parking lot behind building. $3 per hour. Seems pricy but is right for the area.

Quite busy Starbucks in season. The store manager should pay more attention to cleanliness and simplify the customer journey. I was lucky to get a Rhode Island mug. :)
Martin V — Google review
I came with my girlfriend in a vacation and despite my dislike for the colossal brand my girlfriend went and got a chocolate with almond milk. The service was terrible they gave her regular milk when asked for almond milk , which caused her terrible stomach ache, now we are stuck in our room unable to leave because she constantly needs to go to the bathroom. I honestly never like this brand for its overpriced and overrated products, but here the problem is quite different. Majority of the people that work in this chain they don’t even care to work there. Today was a perfect example of awful service which caused us to lose our day, but what do they care? They are there just to pass the time and work because they have to work, no respect at all. If you are in Rhode Island don’t go to Starbucks ( for what it worth don’t go at all ) but especially here the workers they don’t care

Amazing experience at this restaurant! The service is top-notch, with a joyful and wonderful vibe that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Loved seeing the entire staff smiling and singing - it's the perfect way to start the day! Thanks guys for making our visit so special.

Located on a bustling roadway, Scratch Kitchen & Catering is a cheerful and laid-back eatery that offers a diverse menu. The restaurant is renowned for its breakfast options, including creative omelettes, breakfast burritos, and specialty French toasts. For lunch, the spot shines with an array of grilled cheese options and macaroni and cheese dishes. Despite its small size, the place boasts an extensive menu that caters to various tastes.
I was chilling at my hotel, at which point, I got hungry for breakfast. My partner found this joint nearby and it looked to get great reviews so I decided to walk over. Came at around 9:15 AM on a Saturday and they weren’t too busy and had tables available. The layout of the joint threw me off at first as it looks like they are counter serve. But they actually do table service! My waitress was nice and attentive to my table. I got the Chicken & Waffles sandwich with a side of bacon as my meal. I was overall blown away! The waffles were toasted perfectly, the chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the bacon was crispy. Overall, Scratch Kitchen, a fantastic sandwich shop in Newport! If I’m back in town, I’ll easily come back!

I never understood the hype over grilled cheese sandwiches. After scratch, now I get not only the hype but I’ve met the heart and soul of grilled cheese sandwiches. We had a Reuben and it was amazing as well. The place could be nicer but again when the food it’s so good, aesthetics don’t matter.

Wow, I'm a local and stopped in and grabbed a lunch special which came w fresh curried carrot soup, half a grilled cheese and some spud nuggets. Also a cookie and a drink! The staff are super fun and friendly and they have a great menu for breakfast and lunch. Salads, wraps, sides, fresh cookies too. Great little spot on Broadway!

Scratch is a whole vibe! While visiting RI, we stumbled on Scratch. Great food, excellent service. The team was very friendly and accommodating. We observed the team interact with an older regular, and they treated her like she was family🥹. Talk about kindness with a side of affordability❤️

This little kitchen is great! These people can make a breakfast sandwich! The french toast was delicious too!Great experience right down to the coffee. Wanted to go back but didn't make it, we were only in town for the day.

Love this place! There sandwiches are some of the tastiest I’ve had at such a low price as well. It seems to be a great spot if you’re exploring Newport or want a tasty option for lunch. I highly recommend “The Deluxe” simple but delicious option!

We came here based on all the positive reviews. They were correct. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. It’s a small place, but we didn’t have trouble getting a table. Definitely a hidden gem.

The more "popular" breakfast place to the block was crowded so we popped in here. What an unexpected delight. The Spud Nuggets, though not what I was expecting, were absolutely delicious. The OG burrito was seasoned to perfection. My Wife and daughter also raved about their meals. DO NOT miss having your meal here!

Picnic Café is a delightful and delectable eatery that offers a range of enticing food options. Situated in Newport, RI, this charming little place is conveniently located near the Hotel Viking. It provides both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements for customers to enjoy their meals. With no Wi-Fi or computers allowed, Picnic Café creates an ambiance that encourages conversation and relaxation. Additionally, they offer picnic baskets for sale, allowing patrons to take their meal on-the-go.
Loved everything that entered my mouth in this place. Blackened salmon and turkey sandwiches were both incredible, although both sandwiches I tried were pretty messy (complimentary). The dirty chai was a perfect blend of spicy and sweet. The fruit tart pastry was top tier as well. Perfect cute lunch/coffee shop vibe, but don’t go here to work on your laptop because that’s not what this place is about. Loved my experience and food here all around.

Picnic Cafe is a hidden gem in Newport with so much to offer! From a wide variety of coffees and refreshing drinks to an impressive selection of croissants, cakes, sandwiches, salads, rolls, and burgers—there’s something for everyone. We ordered a croissant with oat milk coffee, the chocolate and almond croissant, and a slice of strawberry cake. Everything was absolutely perfect—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Truly one of the best cafés we’ve visited. Highly recommended for a cozy and delicious stop!
Anish S — Google review
Cute little place for coffee, pastries, salads, and some light food (hotdogs). The pastries look fresh and there’s a good number of options. I would have loved for them to be less wasteful with all the plastic and provide real plates and silverware when dining in.

Cozy place to take a break. The almond pastries were the best. Also tried the raspberry latte and it was amazing.

They have sandwiches, salads, coffee, pastries, etc and the food is fantastic. They have a variety of hot and iced teas which is harder to find these days. They also over picnics and food for your boat outing. Sophie helped us and the service was excellent.

This place is lovely. I try to stop by every time I'm in Newport (usually for work). The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is consistently amazing. Coffee - great. Sandwiches - great. Pastries - also great. Pineapple coconut cake - UNBELIEVABLE. Also, the baggu bag offerings are a nice bonus!

Ohhhh what a quaint and deliciously tasty cafe. We stayed across the street for an overnight and had to visit Picnic 2x in less than 24 hours. It’s THAT good! IRS a small shop but you can dine in at the few tables they have. We got roped in with their fresh made lattes and amazing.. AHHHHMAZING pastries! I have such a sweet tooth so pastry hunting is my thing! We got a variety of things and the winners were: almond croissant, chocolate croissant, cinnamon swirl, on cookie, custard fruit tart… soooo delicious.. the savory picks were good mainly the ham and cheese croissant.. it was a little dry but the mustard helped! Def check out this lovely cafe and enjoy the sweet service and treats!

Kellie's Cafe is a charming little spot that perfectly blends American and British culinary delights. This cozy outpost offers a delightful array of simple cafe bites, from hearty breakfast options like eggs and sandwiches to fresh salads. The cafe's British theme shines through with its inviting decor and an impressive selection of treats, including scones, meat pies, and pastries.
Kellie’s Cafe is amazing! Beautifully decorated. The couple that run it are brilliant. Most importantly the food is amazing!! All the comforts of home including full English, Steak Pies, fresh sausage rolls and so much more. This is a MUST STOP in Newport!! Made us feel like we were back home in England.

Happy find! We had some extra time between appointments and wanted to grab some food. My son found pictures of Kellie’s cafe online so we decided to stop. The food was SO GOOD and the people were unbelievably kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

Found this Awesome British Breakfast Cafe in Newport this morning. Great atmosphere very authenticity English, The food is amazing, but mostly The Bacon and Sausage are absolutely delicious!! The owners are so nice and have done a great job making you feel like your Royalty while you have a spot of tea with the Queen, if you haven't been here yet then you're missing out!!
Paul S — Google review
Stumbled upon this gem while on our last day of vacation in RI. My husband is British so how could we turn down an authentic full English?? It was so good from the moment we walked in. The service was great - the owners had their son sitting customers and taking drink orders immediately. The food was delicious and quick to come out. It really does look and feel like a cafe in the UK. We both got the full English, but everything else looked amazing. (I’m 8 months pregnant so had to get my eggs scrambled or would have ordered them over easy! 😂) They also have a nice selection of goodies to buy on the way out! We had to get some Jammie Dodgers for the ride home. One of my fave snacks from the UK!
Sara M — Google review
When visiting Newport, we stopped at this breakfast place and let me tell you it was decision!! The owners were so friendly and welcoming. I loved that they had regular tea; if you don’t like flavor tea like me. It’s an Authentic English Breakfast place that serves Authentic English cuisine along with American cuisine. We tried the cowboy and the full Monty. When you go try something different and go with an authentic English cuisine

Such a lovely cafe in Newport. Its like having a little bit of London in Rhode Island. Everyone here was so kind and helpful. This is the perfect place for brunch!!! We all got the full english breakfast which is a must try. It closes early afternoon at 2pm so perfect for breakfast, brunch or lunch!!! They also sell authentic english snacks too!
Kailah O — Google review
As a world traveler I always try to find the unique things in different places, I did not expect to find a British diner here in the town of Newport. The tea here is unmatched. The food here is wholesome I hope that you like HP and Heinz products cuz that's what they use and that's what the English like, a touch on the sweet side but I love it.
Bunarith T — Google review
This is a super cute cafe serving British food. The scones are perfect and the Ploughmans (without ham) was a delicious vegetarian option. The owner/server was lovely and attentive. I look forward to coming back next time I’m in Newport.

Dunkin' is a well-established chain known for its iconic breakfast offerings and an array of coffee beverages. Despite its small size, this location efficiently caters to the needs of customers, especially during busy times like marathons. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that everyone gets served promptly without compromising on quality. It's a reliable option in Newport, amidst the city's trendy spots. Customers appreciate the fast and friendly service, with staff members being personable and efficient.
🍩Fast, Friendly Service🍩 Dunkin' was running a coupon-related marketing campaign, so I stopped in to grab a few items for lunch. The food and beverages both hit the spot, and the staff member working the counter was personable, efficient, and friendly. The experience added to my overall enjoyment of my time in Newport.
Casey — Google review
This is a last resort Dunkin if you are near Bellevue Ave. It many times is out of what you ordered, and if you ordered on the app, you won't get any help for a refund because it's ap0 related, so don't ebn bother asking. Service is meh, and the coffee is burnt or sharp a lot. If you are walking around here, it's pretty much your only option, so I guess it's better than nothing, but if you can drive 10 mins to the other ones, I suggest that.
Jonathan B — Google review
This location was *swamped* on a Sunday morning with mobile orders. The three staff in store could not keep up with all of the orders coming from the app, and were visibly overwhelmed in their interactions with in store customers. More staff needed, and definitely more training in customer service.
Stephanie L — Google review
The reason im giving this a one star is not due to staffing, the quality of the food nor the service. Im frustrated and quite frankly shocked at the parking. Why? Because two employees were doing work on a car in the back and shooting the shit. Looks like an oil change was being done. Which took up the only available slot to park had they not been there. Not cool considering some folks who are handicap genuinely need these spots. Get it together dunkins on memorial. ✌️
Alyssa G — Google review
This Dunkin’ is absolutely amazing—probably one of the best I’ve ever been to! I was in Newport, RI this weekend and stopped in four times (Saturday, Sunday, and twice on Monday before driving home). Every visit was outstanding. The staff is off the charts with their service—fast, friendly, and incredibly efficient. Despite being a small store with a high volume of customers, they processed orders quickly and flawlessly. Each cup of coffee was perfect, and I didn’t see a single mistake. Most of all, the store manager deserves special recognition. She clearly runs a tight ship, leading by example with her focus on customer service and attention to detail. This store is a model of excellence, and the team deserves to be commended. They were truly amazing!
Fred B — Google review
The ladies were very nice, seeing how early it was! My coffees were perfect, my wife extremely happy! Thank you
Ian S — Google review
First a new driver from one of the food delivery companies comes in and ask the manager for the order and she yelled at him and told him to stand down the other end. Because no one was down at the other end after about ten minutes of waiting he goes to the front counter and asks about his order and this time she screams at the poor kid. I spoke of for him because he's now nervous and don't know what to do. The whole store spoke up for him and all she did was argue back. Took 15 minutes for the girl to make one sandwich which had her rubber glove left in it. Not sure if that was a tactic cuz I spoke up for the driver. Then one lady in the back eating her sandwich while the whole store is in the weeds couldn't help but stare at you with a look like she wanted to kill you. You will never catch me at this Dunkin' Donuts again.I will travel twice as far to get dunkin. The owner would be embarrassed.
Lucas M — Google review
I always love Dunkin' ... have been a fan since forever ... The poor service and lack professional courtesy at this location was shocking. I waited at the counter for service for over 5 min and tried to catch anyone's attention (there were at least 3-4 individuals working behind the counter) but it seemed none of them were on cash register duty and no one had time to answer a question. They were indeed all busy filling order that were apparently coming thru online. Finally, I decided to just place my order thru the app. When I stepped away, another woman stepped up to the counter and was helped right away. I'm Asian and the woman who was helped looked Caucasian, was that the difference that mattered? My order was noticeably fulfilled AFTER the woman who came and ordered after me. I have never been so poorly treated or felt so discriminated against.

Dunkin' is a popular chain that offers a range of delicious breakfast options and various coffee beverages. During busy mornings, there may be a slight delay in service, but the staff strives to provide their best efforts. Occasionally, there might be some confusion with seating arrangements, so you may want to clean your table yourself. However, overall customer service at this Dunkin' location is excellent - friendly and efficient.
Clean location however cashier could be a little nicer. Empty inside however drive through very busy.
R C — Google review
Poor service. There was no one around except us but the cashier wants everything done fast. Spacious. Has tables and chair for dine in. Parking space is ample. Has a drive thru. No high chair. Accepts credit and debit
Nico S — Google review
Literally, the worst Dunkin’ that I’ve ever been to. This is the second time in the row in which I’ve received bad customer service and a large coffee with a third of the cup empty. In addition, the employees were very unprofessional and ignorant.
DJ C — Google review
There is a massive problem with tact and manners. They had a menu item called the "Golden Hour Refresher", which when ordered, an old lady rudely replied "This is a Dunkin', not a Starbucks!" despite that menu item being...on the menu. This same lady was ranting and cursing to other employees with the window open to where all could hear. They all spoke with attitude, with no hint of professionalism in their way of communicating. I would fire that lady, and since management didn't tell the staff about the new menu items, either fire them too or train them properly so they can lead.
Caleb — Google review
99% of the time something from my order is forgotten. At least half the time the drink is made incorrectly. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend this location. Here’s an example pic of my latte that is barely half full when they handed it to me.

Bagel Boys is a popular bagel spot located in Newport, offering a wide variety of freshly made bagels and homemade cream cheese. Customers rave about the deliciousness of their bagel sandwiches, with options like asiago and sourdough bagels paired with flavorful cream cheese. The New York-style bagels are highly recommended, reminiscent of those found in NYC.
First time to this place on December 24, and I loved the bagels. They also make their own cream cheese, which was fantastic. The woman behind the counter was nice and helpful.
David S — Google review
Cash only and they conveniently have an ATM inside that charges $3.20 to withdraw money. No sign on the door that says cash only. I’m sure they make a profit for having the ATM machine in there. Not sure why they have such a high rating. I could have made a batter bagel at home.
Carlos E — Google review
The bagels were pretty good. This is the second time I’ve been here. I was there in April as well. The service and atmosphere is horrible. Like I’m actually afraid of the woman who works there That I’m gonna say something wrong and get yelled at. One person working there no music on in the background I feel like I’m in trouble or we just had an argument and not speaking to each other lol. I’m sorry you have to take my order Dreadlock white lady but if you don’t like your job then find another one.

I wish I knew their names, but you’ll know who one is. She calls everyone “Baby” or “honey” 😁 and the other woman who does the prep. They are lightning fast, always pleasant, and truthfully because of them we go to this shop everytime we’re in Newport. Fast like NYC fast, and that is saying a lot!!! Thanks girls, you are excellent!

Really solid bagel...kind of an oasis in a barren and bagel-less desert. No I don't count Dunkin Donuts as reputable purveyor of bagels. While it is the only game in town, the game is damn good. They have an incredible selection of bagels and a cream cheese selection that is nearly as impressive. They also do some impressive bagel sandwiches as well.
