The 50 best foods to try in Newport

Me and my friends got a table by walking up, had to wait an hour, go sat inside which is very small. We waited quite a long time for our food and for the bill which really irritates me. I ordered a raspberry mojito and that was terrible, one of the worst I've had, thank god the food was good. Overall the clam chowder is a thin brothered one which I don't really enjoy but there were a lot of clams which made it better. I also got the cod over rice which was surprisingly really good.

We chose The Black Pearl because of its great Google reviews, without realizing how iconic it actually is in Newport. Their clam chowder is truly outstanding—later I found out it’s even sold canned in local shops, which makes total sense because it’s that good. The oysters were excellent as well. The lobster roll, on the other hand, didn’t really convince me. It was served in a croissant instead of the classic hot dog–style bun I’m used to from Boston. Maybe it’s a local twist, but I personally didn’t love it. Prices seemed fair overall. What I didn’t quite get was why they served my wine in a plastic cup on the outdoor terrace. We weren’t at a pool, and we weren’t so close to the water that it would’ve been necessary. The atmosphere is extremely busy, especially at dinner time. The day I went was very hot, and since the terrace is open-air, there’s not much they can do with cooling. If you don’t like crowded places, I’d recommend visiting at a different time or day. Overall, it’s a place worth visiting at least once if you’ve never been to Newport. I would go back, but definitely at a less crowded time.

Stopped by for a quick drink and bite. we sat at the outside patio bar. I had the Pretzel with a Guinness while she had the chicken salad with an Aperol, followed by a shared frozen Mudslide per the suggestion of a local. Service was awesome, the drinks were on point and the food was excellent.

Stopped at the Pearl on the 4th for lunch and place was packed as usual. We got lucky and we're able to get seated rather quickly. We wanted to eat outside as always ate inside. Atmosphere much better outside. We both had lobster sandwiches and fries. Disappointed in what you received for $36 each. As picture shows you can't even see the lobster, takes the excitement away 😧.Service was fair as waitress only came by once after we received our dishes but she was pleasant. This is the first time I wasn't impressed as this is one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. We will still keep stopping here but will pass on the lobster in the future. Still feel Lindy's Tavern is best place in Rhode Island for a nice colossal roll 😋😋😋

Have been here several times before. The atmosphere and food are always very good. Their clam chowder really is award winning. On this visit we just got apps because we needed to get to a show. Had the crab cakes and shrimp with grits, both delicious. Only complaint was the Mojito was not good at all. Prices are average for Newport. It’s very popular in the summer so you will probably have to wait for outdoor and indoor seating.

Great food, service and atmosphere! Went for drinks at night and then back for dinner the following day, both nights were great! Clam chowder is one of the best I’ve ever had. The frozen dark and stormy is delicious. Highly recommend!

The food was delicious. We all enjoyed what we ate, but the service could have been better. If only the server smiled and was a bit more attentive. She couldn't care less. The room was not crowded. We had a better time at some of the other places.

We came here at 1pm on a Wednesday in early Aug 2025. We sat alongside of the entrance to enjoy the beautiful weather and hustle and bustle of the wharf. Our waitress was great. She was prompt. Drinks were quick to arrive and stay topped off. We wanted a snack and not lunch, so oysters and heirloom tomato with burrata salad was just enough. Everything was so fresh. The chefs choice oysters were buttery and delicious, and the salad, bright, sweet, and the perfect partner to a beautiful summer day. Can’t wait to return!

The service here was not the best, the waitress couldn’t give me descriptions of ANY of their oysters, I was pretty disappointed, however I still ordered an assortment of oysters as an appetizer and then the lobster roll has my meal. Overall the food was pretty good. Luckily my friend and I had the pleasure of sitting right next to the water! Don’t know that I would recommend this place to anyone but glad I walked in & gave it a try!

5 stars all around! This place is delicious! Off-season, Wednesday night October, and it was packed. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended daily oyster selection and the clam chowder. I enjoyed the featured halibut…. Not sure how often that makes the menu, but if you see it, try it! And save room for the snowball from hell. It’s worth it! Met the GM who graciously gave us a tour and treated us like celebrities. I wish we had more time here… I’d eat here everyday!

While we were walking around the harbor in Newport, we wanted to grab a drink. When we walked by, it looked like a nice and fun place. We asked if we could sit at the bar and we were able to find two seats. There were locals and visitors alike, and we could tell we found a gem. Kevin the bartender was friendly, attentive, and made great drinks! When he left his shift, Shawn took over and made sure to keep our water glasses full. We’re so glad we stopped by that afternoon!

We came here after seeing the funny video of the assistant AG getting arrested for trespassing lol. We absolutely loved it here. The service was comfortable and not overbearing but right on time. The food was delicious! Also, every course came at the perfect time. The view of the harbor is beautiful. There’s a nautical old money feeling with surprisingly nice prices, especially for the best dinner in newport. Ultimately a great experience with no complaints. Hopefully next time we get to witness an AG be arrested.

Some of the best food we've ever tasted - the truffle appetizer was a once-in-a-lifetime delight. The lemon, honey and vanilla sauce with the asparagus appetizer was so good that we used our bread to get all of it. The duck breast and the swordfish entrees were beyond our expectation with innovative and delicious accompaniments. Dining on the third level is a once a year treat for us.

One of the best restaurants in the US. Great views. The food is delicious. Try the King Salmon, its perfectly cooked. Enjoy some excellent oysters from the region. The sushi is not bad so if you are in the mood for it, give it a try. The staff was great and knew how the chef recommends his food to be prepared. I recommend this place. So make reservations and enjoy.

We visited here from out of state with high expectations. Every single one of them was exceeded. Good wine selection and great service. Make sure you make a reservation! The dress code is clearly unenforced but perhaps it varies depending on different times of the night or who is hosting. My preference is just to commit to one of them, either drop the dress code or enforce it. Include a note with the reservation, & put up a sign outside so it is harder to claim ignorance regarding the website info. The field greens had an exquisite minty + turmeric taste with candied nuts and it was a perfect appetizer! The lobster ravioli and lobster bisque are similar so make sure you want them both if ordering both. The duck legs were crispy on the outside and they were so good! Would recommend going early so you can park in their free parking lot, I’m sure it gets full. One of the dining rooms is upstairs so be sure to request what you need in advance.

Excellent restaurant which is also the oldest tavern in America. Lot of history, beautiful stories and architecture. Really nice old woody feel. Lovely service and staff who are friendly. Highly recommend you book in advance guys it gets full fast. We have been three times on three different trips. The food is nice but not overwhelmingly good. The best dishes were the Brussels sprouts aide dish- must have! Also the dessert mousse was amazing!! The duck chicken and steak were 7/10.

I will just say - when George Washington walked into this tavern, it was already 100 years old! If that isn’t enough to pique your curiosity and your desire to visit this iconic restaurant, then let me tempt you further. The wine selection is impressive; the food (don’t miss the Beef Wellington) is delicious; and the service is impeccable!. Still not convinced? The staff is welcoming and gracious - and the bartender pours the perfect Rusty Nail! Still need more? Our reservations kept changing (our fault - NOT theirs) - but Bill and Ryan were superb and accommodating. We were celebrating a birthday - and the owners of the Golden Steer Las Vegas were in our party (no pressure 🙃). It could not have been a more exciting or grander memory! If you have not dined at the White Horse Tavern, then it’s high time you did. You will not be disappointed - and who knows? … you may just walk in George’s exact footsteps!

Full moon on a Friday and lucky me there was a table near the bar. Beef Wellington was superb, see pics and the wine was outstanding. Great hostess and bartender. Efficient, friendly and scrumptious. So glad I made the walk from my air bnb! Thank you for graciously welcoming me from Nashville!

The food was delicious! We ordered the lobster ravioli, scallops, oysters, and lobster soup. The portions were generous and everything tasted great. The ravioli were especially amazing, served with a rich sauce that included extra lobster and shrimp. My mother-in-law loved the Nespresso martini with Baileys, which we highly recommend as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food! Our waiter was also very kind and took good care of us. I really like the atmosphere of the old tavern.

The house/restaurant is super cute. It’s white table, but doesn’t need to be. The food and service do not match the vibe. The scotch egg was delish. The clam chowder was simple but lacked salt and pepper. I had a chicken dish that was rather bland. The veggie plate was nothing to write home about. Very simple and basic. Our waitress was not attentive. She told us the specials and walked away—we were ready to order by that time. She was covering at least 5 tables. Again, doesn’t match the fine(r) dining vibe. We had to ask the food runner for more to drinks because it was completely out. I would not recommend this place.

We had reservations for dinner for 8pm but my husband called to see if they can get us in earlier. They accommodated us at 6:15pm even though they were completely booked. We were seated on the covered deck, however the view of the Marina was covered with thick, clear plastic which they could not open up. This not only obstructed our beautiful view but also prevented the circulation of air. It did get a little stuffy. Some other guests were not thrilled about this and decided to sit indoors. Other than that, our experience at this place was excellent. The drinks were refreshing and the food was delicious. Our server Jennifer was friendly & attentive. We were treated with a free dessert and a card signed by the employees for our anniversary.

Had a great lunch here while in Newport for the day. Warm Lobster Roll was fantastic. Not that i am an expert in Lobster Rolls, but can not imagine having it any other way. Although I know some of you do. Scallop chowder was good, but to me the base made it something i could not take a lot of. My wife like it over the clam chowder, and i preferred the clam. Worked out perfectly. Madisyn was great and attentive and our seats inside over looking the water provided a wonderful atmosphere.

We had a great dinner at The Mooring! The food was excellent all around. The shrimp ceviche was fresh and flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the fish & chips were perfectly crispy with great fries. The chicken was juicy, with a bright chimichurri and creamy garlic mashed potatoes that really stood out. Our server Sharon was friendly and professional, though she tended to linger a bit long at the table. Overall, a really good experience and we’d definitely go back.

I was so excited to dine here Saturday for lunch. The food looked amazing on social media & my experience was just as great as it looked online. The seafood was delicious and fresh. The out door seating was beautiful and peaceful. When booking the reservation, I did request in the comments to be sat outside so I really appreciated that they honored that request. Our waitress Maddy was a doll. Super down to earth & consistently checked in on us. Everything was great!

Absolutely incredible experience! We arrived on our first night here to Newport, and everyone recommended dinner at The Mooring. We had reservations for a table, but we ended up having so much fun at the bar with bartenders Nick and Matt (and patron Jim) that we decided to hang with them for the evening. From Nick’s perfect cocktails (salted caramel espresso martini and of course a classic dirty) to Matt recommending local stops to see in town on our stay, we had a great experience - not like some highfalutin place that misses out on an authentic experience. Had dinner here with my wife over weekend. Food was very good, the chowder was super solid. Shrimp cocktail was good portion, super fresh. Lobster roll and fries was good, not great. No need for lettuce on a lobster roll. Second best lobster roll we had while visiting. Nice ambiance, good views. Service was good. Would go again.

We had a fantastic experience here! Beautiful food, amazing service, and super delicious food. We came for the lobster rolls and were blown away by them, but we left actually being number one fans of their honey biscuit. Hahaha you HAVE to get the biscuit, it’s the greatest thing ever. Our server Candace was SO sweet, attentive, and lovely - she made our meal extra special!

Everything about this place was an absolute 10/10, from the minute we stepped to the host stand to when we finalized our check. All of the staff was incredibly attentive, helpful, and went over the top to make sure we had a great experience. Our servers/food runners were great, the one server that stood out was Hope. She was friendly, funny, and overall created the best environment for our time there. All, and i mean ALL, of the food and drinks were AMAZING. Even the most unique & strange flavor combinations I was pleasantly surprised by; for example the capresi martini. I’ve truly never had anything like it. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.

Nicely curated Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining options. The chef's choice 7 course dinner is a wonderful option. Impressive wine list compliments the food. The pasta was perfectly seasoned. The salmon was also very good. Terrific service as well.

We were left waiting outside for about 15–20 minutes — a noticeable miss, especially considering the restaurant was roughly 80% empty. There were also minor delays with refills and an awkward seating arrangement, though nothing too disruptive. The food itself was hit or miss. Some courses were flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, while others felt rushed in execution or uneven in portion and presentation. We ordered the tasting menu for two, which was both expensive and lengthy — stretching over two hours. While the concept was creative, the pacing and overall delivery didn’t quite match the elegance the setting suggested. Overall, this restaurant shines in atmosphere and ambiance, but there’s room for improvement in service and culinary consistency. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of wine and the view, best suited for a relaxed evening rather than a fine-dining experience.

We accidentally stumbled across the restaurant while taking a walk and went in to try. The menu is small but the staff explain the menu well if needed. We got a simple marinara pasta and mafaldine (lobster pasta). Both of them were very yum and seemed fresh. The marinara sauce is amazing. They were able to give a coloring set for my kid which helped. We had a good experience there!

It's not the first time I've visited Italian restaurants in America, but this one conveys the real flavors of Italian cuisine. And as a person who traveled to Italy, I want to say with confidence that they conveyed the flavors of Italy. The dishes we ordered were extremely tasty. The desserts also turned out to be very good. The waitress was very attentive to our requests, she knew everything about the dishes we were interested in and according to her recommendations we were able to enjoy our dinner. Therefore, they not only cook deliciously here, but also have the highest level of service. I recommend this restaurant 100%.

we had an incredible dining experience from beginning to end. giusto is absolutely worth they hype, and deserved of every praise and accolade. tip: ideally secure a reservation as far in advance as possible, but you’re like us, and your dinner plans came together that afternoon, call and get on the waitlist to be notified if a seat opens. we arrived at 8, and were able to secure a 9:15 seat, while we waited at the bar, standing for 10 mins before bar seats opened, and we ended up just having our meal there, which was an excellent experience. nick our bartender was amazing, the food was beyond. top tier, i had the duck confit, and she had the buscatini, we had the croquettes to start, and ended with the olive oil cake and salted caramel gelato, oh and a negroni or 3, all were phenomenal choices. can’t go wrong here ever! will be back!

The food was incredibly delicious!! We were blown away! The service was just as amazing — our waitress was so warm and friendly 😊 My husband said it was the best Italian food he's ever tasted in his life! 😍🍝 The only downside was the long wait — it took quite a while for the food to arrive, and there was a big gap between the appetizer and the main course. But overall, it was absolutely worth it!

Newport is a happy place for my wife and I. Brick Alley is a must-visit restaurant when in town. This trip we were a party of four. Absolutely enthralling decor and always excellent service. I put a picture of all that was ordered although I can not name them all. I had the salmon which was delicious but looked a little lonely as served. If there was any shortcoming at all I would say that the menu is a bit limited. Take a look 👀 online and make sure that they have what you like. If you do visit I am sure that you will enjoy the experience. Your mileage may vary.

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant in Newport, RI is a lively and welcoming spot that blends classic charm with a fun, casual vibe. Located on Thames Street, it’s perfect for families, date nights, or just grabbing a drink with friends. The menu is huge think award winning burgers, fresh seafood, pastas, and even a lobster roll voted one of the best in America. Inside, the decor is packed with antiques, sports memorabilia, and even an old Chevy truck, giving it a nostalgic feel. The staff are friendly, the portions are generous, and the energy is always upbeat. It’s a true Newport favorite.

We stumbled upon The Brick Alley Pub thanks to a great recommendation from our trolley driver, Rob—and what a find! This place is bursting with eclectic charm, packed with fun antique memorabilia on every wall. It’s like walking into a cozy museum-meets-pub—there’s something to admire in every corner. The bar area is separated so perfect if you have small Kids too! Despite being pressed for time (we had a return water taxi scheduled for our cruise), our server was incredibly accommodating. We let her know we had only an hour, and she made sure everything was smooth and efficient without making us feel rushed. We started with their famous beef nachos, which were absolutely delicious—layers of crispy chips, melted cheese, and perfectly seasoned beef. My friends opted for the all-you-can-eat salad bar, which was impressively stocked with a huge variety of fresh toppings, dressings, and sides. A true salad-lover’s dream! I ordered their award-winning Lobster Salad Sandwich, served cold as recommended. It did not disappoint—light, flavorful, and loaded with fresh lobster meat. It came with classic coleslaw and a side of sweet potato fries, which were perfectly crispy and just the right amount of sweet. Before heading out, we also grabbed a few tee-shirts for our husbands—a fun way to support local businesses and take home something memorable. Little souvenirs like that always make vacations last just a bit longer when you’re back home. If you’re in Newport and looking for a spot that’s full of personality, local flavor, fantastic bar area and great food, I highly recommend stopping in at The Brick Alley Pub. It’s now one of my favorite hidden gems from the trip!

Don’t let the ugly yellow awning fool you, this place is a must-visit! Portions are huge and food is delicious. Whether it be nachos, fried mozzarella, turkey club, fish and chips or a burger, you can’t go wrong! There is something for everyone. Service is also great, never have to flag down wait staff for refills, etc. I recommend making a reservation - Thames St. is a very busy area and there is usually a wait.

When it was our turn to have a break for lunch from our tour, we decided to stop by and try them out. It sure did not disappoint and it is one of the bigger restaurants in historic Newport. We were seated almost right away and our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered food and it arrived pretty fast. We got the cheeseburger and the smoked turkey club, both delish, fresh and tasty. A good option in historic Newport.

The lobster Mac. And cheese was creamy, and packed with lobster. The bisque was velvety and flavorful, and the clams were spot on. This place knows seafood! Be warned: the line gets long on weekends, so definitely book ahead. Totally worth it

We came here based on a friend’s recommendation, and I’m so glad we did! Even though the restaurant was packed, we were seated within seconds of walking in (around 5 PM). The raw oysters and clams were fresh and delicious, but the lobster roll blew me away. It was warm, juicy, and loaded with a generous amount of lobster meat👌🏼 Will definitely come back for another roll. Highly recommend!

Midtown Oyster Bar is absolutely fantastic! The seafood is as fresh as it gets, and the oysters are some of the best you’ll find anywhere — perfectly shucked and full of flavor. Their menu goes beyond oysters too, with delicious seafood dishes and flavorful sides that make every visit a treat. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot whether you’re out with friends or enjoying a nice dinner. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend the best pairings. If you love seafood, Midtown Oyster Bar is a must-visit!

Very nice, missing the live music though. We’ve gone a few times in recent years, and the food is always outstanding, as is the service. The dishes always look and taste sensational. Would recommend.

In town 5 nights visiting and My wife and I were out walking and wondering where we were going to get dinner. Stopped in and looked at menu and decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar. I started with 3 oysters and they were so delicious I had to get more. We had Charred octopus (as good as it gets), wicked shrimp, lobster roll and truffled fries. Everything was fresh and exceptional. Highly recommend.

Midtown Oyster Bar was fantastic. They were able to accommodate a party of 12 for our family’s wedding week dinner. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious, especially their seafood tower, lobster Cobb salad, truffle fries and lobster roll! They were also able to split entrees in half for people sharing (salad picture of half split portion). Highly recommend to anyone visiting Newport.

We had a fabulous meal here. We were expecting “pub” food but everything was delicious. The oyster selection was incredible. The little necks were mouthwatering and the scallops were cooked to perfection! Madison our waitress was the best server we have had since moving to the US. Thank you so much!

Pretty good experience! Some of the food fell a little flat but the sausage and smoked mozzarella pasta was incredible. Service was good and attentive. Atmosphere was a little cluttered feeling, but maybe that's because it was during the day. Would go back again just for that pasta dish.

We came here for an early Friday dinner. The carbonara was amazing. The watermelon salad was very good. The vodka pasta was good but didn’t taste like typical vodka sauce that I was expecting. My daughter enjoyed the pepperoni pizza. I was not a fan of the ricotta dip or the meatballs.

The service and atmosphere was good and everyone was nice. We got salad, confit potatoes, cacio e pepe and creme brulee. The cacio e pepe was okay. Maybw it was because we requested to get all the stuff together, so the pasta started clumping up as it cooled. Other than that, everything was pretty good!

Tasty Italian dishes, but on the higher end of the price range. The appetizer of Burrata was amazing and the lasagna was delicious and served in a huge portion. The food was fast, but service could have been better.

The decor inside is very nice. The pizza was completely soggy and oily (as you can see in the picture), the pasta was very bland/under seasoned/overcooked considering the price, waste of money. On top of that, the specified complementary bread on the menu wasn't served to us until we asked about it, and recieved a sigh from the server for asking, but it seemed our server Emily was capable of providing it to the tables around us. Mind you they weren't even busy, we were like the 5th table there.

Unfortunately, this place disappointed us. We came to the city for special occasion, but mood of the waitress ruined our day. She was kind of rude and “unhappy” to work with us. Vine was served in plastic cup… and whiskey in regular vodka shot…. We asked not to serve us a tap water, but our voices weren’t heard. Oil bottle had broken and had the part inside

One star and that’s just for the drink. The pizza Quattro was a full-blown dairy crisis. Cheese so thick The tuna? I don’t know what part of the fish that was. The pasta came with frozen peas that tasted like they hadn’t emotionally thawed since Gilded age maximum regret. The staff I didn’t know I booked a speed-dining experience. was mid-meal, drink still full, fork in hand and a staff member comes over to ask if we want the bill.

Delicious apple cider doughnuts. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully presented. The coffee from Custom House is of course the best around! There were lots of seating options both inside and outside in the lovely courtyard. Our only complaint was the bees everywhere outside.

Lovely cafe. Sandwiches are huge! I got the roast beef but it was just okay. There was a long line but it went quickly and food was delivered fast. They have a separate counter for people only getting drinks, which is a great idea. Needs more bathrooms. Unclear if you have to clear your own plate (they came around and did it) so better signage would be nice. Inside and outside were adorable!

Staff was inviting and pleasant. Food was outstanding. So much flavor and fresh. Prices are low for all you get! We sat outside and enjoyed the breeze.

The food was so good! We went on a Saturday and I had the Newport Eggs off the brunch menu and my partner had the Lumberjack Breakfast. Both options were delicious. The portions were large and beautifully served. I highly recommend the Cru Cafe

I ordered a bacon egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! It was so busy but the service was quick. Alan & Lauren were so kind and helpful. They have gluten free bread & wraps and were very conscious of my allergy. Definitely recommend!

Came here for the gluten free bread. Got the grilled cheese sandwich that was so cheesy. I shared the fancy tots with my husband, who got the breakfast wrap. Good thing we ordered a small because it would have been bacon cheese overload. They made sure to let me know that the tots had cross contamination because of the oil I believe. Self serve of water, coffee refills and bussing your own table.

Food was good! I would definitely come back and also recommend this as a brunch place for others. Seems like there were plenty of places to sit. Wasn’t fond of the coffee.

Always have loved the experience here; excellent service, and the freshest, most delicious seafood dishes. House made bread and pasta take it over the top, and the raw bar is exceptional.

We had our post-wedding dinner at Scales and Shells in Newport and it was absolutely amazing! The manager and staff were wonderful to work with—so accommodating and attentive throughout the entire process. I was able to customize our menu, which made the night feel even more personal and special. They were also accommodating with decorating, which I premade, and set up for the tiny details. We reserved the upstairs space, and it was perfect—cozy, elegant, and just the right atmosphere for our celebration. Our guests loved it, and we had such a memorable time. I would highly recommend Scales and Shells for anyone looking for an incredible dining experience in Newport!

We ordered the warm lobster roll and the shrimp scampi with linguine. The lobster roll was good but the portion was small for the price. The shrimp scampi was tasty. Service was efficient. The restaurant has great ambience. There were both bar and table seatings.

Really nice place, very attentive and hospitable staff. Food was amazing! I had the burrata appetizer and the grilled swordfish entree. Will definitely go back next time I’m in town!

The oysters and shrimp were perfect, and all the food was really good. However, it’s hard to give 5 stars because the service was just okay and the environment could be better. Also, I ordered a white wine listed at $42 but was charged $50. You really have to double-check your bill here, since mistakes seem to happen often. The food itself, though, was definitely good.

We had the Caesar, crudo, sourdough, tuna and salmon. Everything was mind blowing except for the crudo, which was a good sashimi with some oil. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. The sourdough butter was salty Thanksgiving seasoning heaven. The Caesar was one the best, each bite was perfect. The crudo (sashimi) was basic the fish was good and fresh but we would have skipped it next time. The tuna and salmon entrees were incredible. Not sure if I’ve ever had a better cooked salmon. Crispy char, with a flaking moist interior. We have (2) notes. We wish there was a door on the back of house; we had inline view of the dishwashing station and bright fluorescent light, maybe some curtains. Also every person that walked into the far door was confused where the host stand. They eventually figured it out, but maybe a sign directing or close the door entirely. We wish we lived closer so we revisit time and time again. We will be back.

We had dinner there last night. One of the worst meals I've had dining out in a long time. Shrimp Scampi was served cold, 5 very dry shrimp on a cold bed of pasta with a bland sauce that was lacking in flavor and presentation. My wife's linguini with clam sauce was almost as bad. The focaccia bread was good as were the martini's. The server and staff seemed to be in a hurry to close down - the food came out within 5 minutes of being ordered (can't be freshly made to order that fast), the staff was cleaning and sweeping around us as we were eating. We felt super rushed. From the time we sat down at 8pm, we were done, paid and out the door at 8:35pm. We ate here 3 years ago and it was much better. It was bad. Never again.

Great place and atmosphere, outside dining is great. Definitely try the Fried Avocado, its amazing! Taco Bowl is great and a nice nutritious meal. Very friendly staff, and great service!

I’m sorry that I don’t have food pics…those blood orange margaritas took over! Lol. Get the pitcher. Trust me. Sticky wings are the bomb. Anything you eat here is delicious. It’s a must whenever we are in town.

Great vibe, pretty small place, very low lighting with loads of ambient lights/candles. Neat artwork & decor. We had a nice table situated near the patio, close enough for fresh air & to hear the live music but not too loud. Overall though the noise level is pretty up there, as this restaurant is in a very old structure. Cucumber marg & blood orange marg very yummy. Excellent & friendly service, attentiveness perfect. Duck tacos A+. Salmon was overcooked (catering to the masses?), but the flavor of the tajin roasted potatoes & roasted carrots more than made up for it. If you like salmon cooked this much & would order it, it’s enough for at least two people. Nice experience overall, glad we went during our short stay here while we’re trying to sample multiple places!

Amazing dinner all around. Great atmosphere, service, and food! Guac app was good portion and very tasty, sticky ribs were INCREDIBLE, and duck tacos were A+ and also great portions. We split a pitcher of spicy watermelon margs, so good. We all left full and happy! They were also very accommodating for my gf who was celiac and had plenty of gluten free options for her including gluten free chips

AMAZING vegan & gf options! I love the vegan chorizo & corn tacos the “meat” was so flavorful. The vegan sofrito enchiladas are also very flavorful. I will definitely be back!

Found this place by chance because we’re in town for 5 nights and it’s right behind the Jailhouse Inn where we’re staying. We were tired of traveling so we decided to have dinner there due to proximity. What a hidden gem. Everything was exceptional with good food, service and atmosphere. Live band playing and not overly loud and relaxing. Love the unique menu items: avocado fries and sticky ribs as examples were amazing. Tamarind beef burrito and empanadas top notch. If I lived around here this would be a regular go to place.

Great little restaurant in town with intimate seating and lighting. The staff is friendly and efficient. Drinks are good and food is delicious. The rigatoni bolognese has a meaty sauce and the whole roasted branzino is flavorful but be cautious with all the bones. The seared salmon was tender with a citrus fennel herb salad. We absolutely loved their grilled pizza with prosciutto, fig, arugula, fontina, and gorgonzola. Now for my standard comments. Easy to walk to in town. There is a good amount of seating but it is a bit packed. Still quite comfortable to dine in.

My husband and I got married on 9/21/25 and did a “mini-moon” to Newport and we visited Bar Cino on 9/22/25! We were so excited to celebrate our first day married and the staff at bar cino was so kind and Cassandra and Molly took care of our bill! We couldn’t have been more grateful to Bar Cino, Cassandra and Molly for being so so kind. The food was absolutely spectacular and the service even better. We are so looking forward to coming again! ❤️

Tried the grilled pizza at Bar 'Cino for thr first time. Went with the sausage pizza. Thought it was pretty good. Definitely a unique style of pizza. Had a good crunch and good overall taste. Washed it down with a draft beer. They have a really nice bar set-up. Good service. Nice atmosphere.

Service, food, atmosphere, all so great! The Best pizza and I dont even like pizza. Thin, perfectly crispy crust, full of flavors...yum! The special pasta was great also, mushroom sauce with Bok Choy and spicy sausage. Wow! Sitting outside with just enough wind made it more memorable. Even though we had to wait about 30 mins it was so worth the wait!

I started my meal with the prosciutto fig bruschetta, which was absolutely sensational – the combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pizza I ordered was a prosciutto fig pizza with a super thin, grilled crust that was cut with scissors, giving it a unique texture and a delightful crunch. The flavors of the pizza surprised me with how well they blended, each bite better than the last. I then moved on to a spaghetti carbonara that was truly outstanding – creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of peppery bite to bring it all together. It was one of the best versions of carbonara I’ve had in a while. For dessert, I had an affogato that was good but not particularly memorable, and a lemon tart that, while okay, didn’t quite match the exceptional level of everything else we’d had up to that point. All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the overall quality of the food at Barcino – I didn’t expect such a high standard in this spot. From the impressive bruschetta to the excellent pizza and pasta, this meal was a wonderful discovery.

Visited on a Sunday in June. Loved the open kitchen and casual atmosphere. Service was lovely and the food was chef’s kiss. My bolognese was amazing!

I liked the style, the food and the atmosphere. I got the grilled swordfish blackened and it was very delicious. My wife got the lobster and shrimp pasta and it has a lot of lobster chunks in it, all great. The clam chowder was also a highlight. The menu stated it is award winning with the recipe also containing dill. It sounded interesting and exceeded my expectations in every way. The dill works so well and the clam was very tender, so far the best clam chowder I've had. We really liked it and are glad we visited.

We were traveling through and the kind parking attendant recommended this restaurant and we are so glad he did. It was excellent! It was a beautiful day. We were seated by an open window and it felt marvelous. The pumpkin pie martinis were fantastic and each of our meals were amazing along with outstanding service. If we come back to the area we will definitely return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Red Parrot! Although some say it’s too touristy I think it is worth the trip. We had a group of five and everyone was extremely satisfied with their lunches. My mother had the coconut shrimp and was very happy with the sweet and light batter. She opted for honey mustard dipping sauce as she does not like any heat whatsoever and thought the sweet and spicy dipping sauce might be too much for her (the honey mustard was one of the best I’ve tried. My sister had the taziki pasta with Kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, chopped tomatoes and chicken. It was very light on the protein but the taste and pasta portion were great. Dad got the Coco Loco Coconut shrimp wrap. Flavor and portion size were great but he said there was maybe two piece of shrimp. The sweet potato waffle fries were a huge hit and not one remained in the basket! Everyone was very happy with the only improvement noted was that for the price the protein portions should be “beefed” up a bit.

Never a bad meal here and always great service! This is a great place to go to if you don’t have reservations and turned away by other restaurants in the area. No dress code…. Just good food Good service Good drinks Good vibes

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant today for lunch while stopping in Newport in our New England States driving vacation! Kelsie R. Was our server and she was phenomenal! Fun, friendly & informative! I had a delicious Swedish Fish cocktail (highly recommend) I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, my husband ordered the lobster salad! Both dishes were delicious & perfect! We couldn't resist indulging in the Bananas Franchesca~ YUM!!! The atmosphere was amazing, 5 out of 5 hands down!

Absolutely delicious food, great service, and ideal location! We had no wait time, and our server was busy yet attentive and fun. The lobster Rangoon, swordfish platter and seafood Alfredo were top notch and huge portion sizes. The kids had fun mocktails with a little squeaky flamingo and shark on the lid. It was an overall great experience and we will definitely be back!

The food was great! French onion soup was the best I have ever had, the swordfish was tender scallops were amazing. Wife loved the tropical salad! It was busy, which meant very loud. And service was a little slow between checks, but was friendly. Food came out timely and hot.

Even on a busy Saturday, we were able to find a nice, quaint area at the second floor bar. We were greeted immediately with friendly bartenders, and their service remained impeccable through our entire time there. We started with espresso martinis, and then let the food vibes take us where it wanted to go. It lead us to the truffle fries, which were arguably the best I've ever had. Then came a few oysters and the clam s chowder. Both were delicious, and if you love dill, you must the the chowder. We ended with a second espresso martini, because it was creamy and delicious, with the Waldorf Salad and Wagyu Dumplings. Everything was delicious but it was truly the staff that made the experience so wonderful.

Parker M was our server at 22 Bowen’s this past weekend, and he was fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and always checking in to make sure we were good. He was fun to chat and joke around with too—such a nice guy! ;) My friends had the Lobster Roll, I went with the Grain Bowl and some Parmesan Truffle Fries on the side—everything was delicious. We sipped Aperol Spritz while taking in the view. Honestly, the food, drinks, vibe, and the way Parker took care of us made the whole experience. Definitely coming back! :)

Great place to stop in for a drink and bite to eat. We enjoyed the berry sangria and summer breeze cocktails both light and refreshing. For meals we we shared the crab cake appetizer filled with delicious crab meat and seasoned perfectly. Entrees were a woldorf salad with grilled chicken, a bit too much dressing and cranberries, the chicken was fairly bland even with the pesto esque marinade it was covered in. The hot honey chicken sandwich was full of flavor but the farrier pieces were a big turn off, and in my spicy opinion, there was not enough of the jalapeno slaw. All in all, we would try again and try different meals.

We had a wonderful experience at 22 Bowen’s! Our server, Weston, was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered oysters, lobster bisque, the 22b filet, and the rice crusted tuna - everything was amazing. Highly recommend!

Dined at this beautiful steakhouse by the water and had an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is unbeatable relaxing, scenic, and perfect for a special night out. Service was top notch: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The food did not disappoint. The steak was cooked just right and full of flavor. The crab cakes were a standout perfectly seasoned with a crisp exterior and tender inside. The French onion soup was absolutely amazing, rich, cheesy, and comforting. We also enjoyed the mac and cheese, which was creamy and satisfying, and the bread, warm, fluffy, and served with delicious butter. Even the mocktails were thoughtfully crafted and delicious. A fantastic spot all around!

Yum, yum, yum! The cutest little corner diner with an extremely big delicious breakfast menu, but I was here to get some lunch. I tried the black bean and sweet potato burger with house salad and the cappuccino and everything was delicious!! Everyone here is just dressed in their own clothes, just a real laid-back diner with outdoor seating under canopies, so you're not blazing in the sun. While I was waiting in line, yes there was a line, two people walking out both commented and how delicious the breakfast was and it was their first time here. A must try in Newport Plus it's not on the main road with all the tourists which is why I went down this way. I was told that Broadway St. was where you wanted to eat, better places, more locals.

Fun, bright, spacious place for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is served all day. Staff were friendly and although there was a line when we arrived, we got seated within 10 minutes. We had the cowboy scrambler, eggs Florentine, bacon, a pancake, a cappuccino and a latte. Overall food and drinks were good but didn't blow me away.

The best part of this place is its aesthetic and large portion dishes. Each entree portion is extremely generous. However, seasoning was a bit lacking, so I had to use some salt and pepper offered on the table. Additionally, service was very slow even with only a few tables filled.

Our favorite breakfast spot in Newport! There’s often a line, but it’s a small spot (they do have outdoor seating too). You definitely have to get there right when they open or you’ll have a wait (at least on the weekends), but very worth it. The menu is great, not too limited, with something for everyone. The breakfast potatoes are very unique, flavorful, and delicious. Be sure to save time to walk around the area and explore the shops (but most open at 10).

Corner Cafe has got to be the best breakfast in Newport! Every dish we ordered was incredible and huge. The service was very attentive, impressively so for how busy they were when we ate there. We waited for ~10 minutes to seat our party of 4 on a Saturday morning.

A very nice sit down diner. We had Sourdough Avocado Toast, nicely prepared with orange juice. The food was excellent and location was also good. We would recommend for a quick lunch or dinner.

Delicious food. The irish breakfast went above and beyond, perfectly fried sausage, very tasty black and white pudding, and perfectly well cooked eggs to top it off. Will come back.

Really great experience here. The staff were super friendly and polite, we feel welcoming. Our food came out really fast, and everything tasted super fresh. They used high-quality ingredients—some of them were pretty unique, which made the dishes stand out.

We came here for a family brunch. I was able to make a reservation for 8 a week in advance with no issue. I had the chicken sandwich and my phone definitely did not eat first. It was so good 😆 The atmosphere is so comfortable and upscale and the service was excellent. We will definitely be coming back!

I always come here when I visit Newport! The food is perfectly decadent - yet “healthy” enough if you need it to be. Ask for a “Dan”-tini (gin w green chartreuse and a lil grapefruit/lemon). I am still dreaming about that perfect burger…. We walked in with no reservation and were welcomed without hesitation. Service was perfect. Couldn’t have had a better experience

I went to this restaurant a couple of years ago and just went back for my babymoon yesterday- every single thing we ordered was superb! The smoked trout deviled eggs are a great appetizer, the miso kale Caesar salad has such a rich flavor, the lobster frites was genuinely the butteriest and sweetest lobster tails I’ve ever had, the roast chicken was incredibly layered in flavor and the polenta was to die for. I’m also not a creme brûlée fan but tried my husband’s vanilla creme brûlée and actually loved it- decadent and creamy and perfect, and the chocolate hazelnut mousse had the perfect texture plus some crumbly deliciousness in it too! We will be back!

In Newport for very long weekend and came across Stoneacre Brasserie. It was excellent — both the drinks and the food. The bartender, Dan, helped us navigate the menu to the perfect selections. Some standouts were the crab cakes, sushi and they were serving a tomato gazpacho as the soup of the day. For drinks I recommend Dante’s inferno drink and the red velvet martini. Enjoy!!

Picked up a catering order for a group of 18 girls to take on a boat. Everything was so easy and perfect and the manager/staff who helped us when we picked up the food was incredibly nice!! Only saw inside the restaurant for a second but looked like a lovely place for dinner!

This is your place, competitive price compared to the places in the center which are a few minutes away, highly recommended, shame it closes in the afternoon so for dinner you have to find another place

The food is A+ we have been here many times every year and it has never disappointed!!! It is best sea food in world when it comes to fish and chips, lobster rolls, lobster bites! The food is so clean, delicious, good prices and staff are so friendly. Also the spot is nice right next to water. We love it and will come back next year again.

Might be the best deal you're going to get on a lobster roll in Newport. And it's quite good, of course. We also got the fish sandwich, which was excellent! Very fresh fish, super-thin, super-crispy, and nearly greaseless batter coating. So fresh out of the fryer that you could burn yourself on the tender moist fish. I'll bet their fish and chips are spectacular. A nice view of the harbor here, too.

This food stand is locals favorite and was recommended by locals. The lobsters are fresh from the port and they cooked your food there. Maybe a bit on the pricey side but the freshness and taste are amazing and worth it.

This was our first time having breakfast at the Franklin Spa! The food was very good! Everything was cooked just right ! The French toast, eggs, omelets and fresh breads were so delicious…the music was good as well as the atmosphere and staff! We met Brittany the owner and found out she worked there for 12 years before purchasing the restaurant just goes to show when you love what you do you can taste the difference! Food was good - not great. We were told there was a 20-30 min wait but it was actually an hour and 10 min. When we were seated we ordered ice coffees and chocolate milk - the iced coffee had almost no flavor. After 3 creams and a sugar it tasted like something but still nothing interesting (and we usually drink good coffee black). The server couldn’t take our order for another 15 min because “the kitchen had too many orders.” We were kind but definitely feeling hangry at this point. When our food finally came we’d been there for more than 2 hours. We had nothing to drink for quite a while - and no one to tree from until food was dropped off. No one came back to see if the food was alright. We also had to get up to get napkins from the server station. We’d never go there again, not because the food was bad, but because the overall experience was unacceptable.

The 4 of us had the blueberry stuffed French toast (2die4) 2egg b’fast, eggs & homemade hash browns and I had the scram-bowl with tomatoes ham & spinach (also 2die4). Mine was amazing, eggs-cellent actually! We love this place, been coming for years, always a pleasure. I can’t speak to the food because we just had sunset drinks. But in terms of drinks if you make a reservation you will get a table…. But the tables don’t have the best views. The self seating bar does. We walked in on a Thursday evening around 7 pm and found a seat at the bar. The service is a bit slow and not at all up to the standards of the hotel on the first floor. However i would go back to enjoy the great views . There is only one bathroom upstairs that is right next to where the elevator is that leads to a bit of a crowded feeling that characterizes the whole place. The atmosphere loses one star for looking out on a parking lot before you elevate your eyes to the sunset 😀

This is a tremendous view of the sunset! But bring low expectations of everything else. The service was painfully slow and inattentive, despite a large staff given the size of the venue. The food is OK, but came before the drinks, which was disappointing. Beautiful views, but missed the mark on service, big time. Menu is sparse, but what we ordered was OK.

This place has a spectacular view and you pay the price for it. They have a variety of cocktails which are good. We enjoyed the sunset with two cocktails and a pretzel and then we went to the bar downstairs which is very characteristic and has an exclusive atmosphere. It can get very loud when full. The service is very good and the personnel is very kind and welcoming..

This places is magic. Great cocktails with an excellent service. The food is amazing and the cocktails are out of this world!!! We couldn’t enjoy the rooftop but the bar in the first floor is very gorgeous.

Hours online show until 10pm… had dinner at the Vanderbilt; before dinner at 7:30 was told it was too crowded on the rooftop and they couldn’t accommodate anyone else- then told shortly after 9 that last call was 9:10 and we couldn’t go- after very slow dinner service. Very annoying. Limited menu. Not sure I’d recommend/return.

We had an amazing time last night with old friends and a few superb drinks on the Roof Deck at the Vanderbilt! Great views! Great atmosphere! Great service! The whole building is going through renovations, but don’t let that stop you from going! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

The best of the best. We got there when it first opened to avoid any lines and quickly ordered the Large Chowda and the Fisherman’s Plate. The chowda options were regular, creamy, and spicy we ended up going for a creamy and it was a bit soupier than expected. Aside from that there were heaps of clams and potatoes loaded in. Extremely well flavored and not too heavy for the weather. The fisherman’s platter is more than advertised with heaping amounts of fried clams, some scallops, calamari, shrimp and chunk of fish. All the seafood is so fresh and fried well and pair perfectly with their tartar sauce.

If you're in Rhode Island, you gotta stop by Flo's. Their famous fried clams and lobster rolls were exactly what I was looking for when I was craving seafood. The fiery stuffed quahog is also a tasty sidedish along with the clam chowder.

The crabby cake sandwich was quite good. Chowder was runny even though we asked for creamy. Calamari was decent. My rating is based on how this venue performed relative to my expections for seafood restaurant food at the price I paid.

Flo’s Clam Shack is a must-visit! The lobster roll was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is laid-back and coastal, giving you that true seaside dining experience. Great food, great vibes, and an all-around fantastic place to enjoy seafood!

Wow! What a great find!!! Food was amazing, ocean views were great and prices can’t be beat. No wonder they win so many awards. The combo specials are amazing. Or feted the fish sandwich and it hung out both sides of the bun by at least two inches.

Our sailing trip was pure joy from start to finish! Love the festivals at Bowens wharf. Right in the center of Newport. On the water with bars and food, perfect location. Oyster fest and the Seafood fest are a blast with live bands and seafood. Shout out to Dudemanbro and Timeless, two of our favorite bands. Fourth of July is so nice with the fireworks and celebrations. Love taking the sailboat and rum runner sunsets tours. Great stop on the bike tour! Shout out to the Landing for the great live music and water views. So many places to explore and try out on the wharf. Parking is always a challenge in Newport, highly recommend taking bikes from bike path or ferry from Jamestown.

Great place lots of wonderful food and fun shopping! Make sure you try the Southern Wharf Kitchen and Whiskey Bar excellent food and amazing drinks! Deigos is a must visit for great drinks and fantastic music!

Bowman’s Wharf was a great place to visit. There’s plenty of good food, lots of walking, and beautiful views of the harbor. It’s a lively area, full of boats, people, and shops — a perfect spot to spend an afternoon exploring and taking in the atmosphere.

Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!

My fiance and I went in Monday for dinner on our honeymoon and I have to say we were blown away. She got the Potato pizza and I had the Drs Orders burger (complete with syringe full of queso). The food was phenomenal, the restaurant itself was also very aesthetically pleasing, and the staff and live jazz band performing made it an even more enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a cool spot with a creative menu and good live music in Newport I’d recommend this place hands down.

This place has become a summer staple. Service is excellent and their food is lovely. Highly recommend the salmon! Large portion and well balanced flavours. Jasper is a gem, she is a hospitality natural.

Never a bad experience! Spacious and open in summer, dim and cozy in winter. There is often live music, too. The menu is excellent, with something for everyone including wood fired pizza. The fried mushrooms are an absolute must even for those who think they don’t like mushrooms. Trust me on this! Great vibe, great service, nice long fully stocked bar, and very cool bathrooms. Had an incredible dinner last night. After traveling from NY for hours, we stopped here a half hour before they closed. Our server was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable and accommodating even being the last table. Loved the decor, the cocktails were wonderful, and the food was Sofa. King. Fantastic! Amazing flavors, hearty portions, and beautiful presentation. Even though we were just passing through, I would seriously plan to revisit Newport just to eat here again. Bravo.

The clam chowder is one of the best I had. Service is great. The bacalao was ok. I think that dish would be better with real salted cod and not fresh cod. My wife's ravioli was a little tough , so she left half of it. House wine was good. I will still give it a 5 stars for the good service and the chowder

I ate at this charming restaurant with my wife and son and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. It’s a small restaurant off the main strip, but we had an excellent meal and would eat here again.

Its a decent little restaurant in downtown Newport. Its has a greaty comfy cozy feel to it. The apperizers were delicous. As an entree I got the steak frites. They could have been a bit more seasoned. The server also seemed annoyed she had to serve me. Other than that it was a good place

It’s a simple equation: delicious & innovative dishes in a cool atmosphere with lovely servers who are fun & properly attentive. That’s what you’ll find here. Music at a very nice volume not prohibitive to enjoying your own company. We loved it & had a delightful dinner during our brief stay in Newport. If we had had time for another dinner, we would’ve come back for more menu items. Keep up the great stuff!

I highly recommend the burgers - great flavors even though It wasn't cooked to what we ordered (ordered medium and came out medium rare). Homemade buns. The parking is easy, with pull in spots right in front of the restaurant and parallel parking around as well. Not being familiar with the area, I was surprised to see the homeless on nearly every corner.

Went to bar and board last month for my birthday with a few friends and sister. We sat upstairs at the bar and had some really great drinks. Our cheese board was nice (and tasty), but the wings were not good at all. I also didn’t realize we had to pay for the added items outside of the cheese and meats (when we were offered them I thought it was just part of the board and said sure). I think next time we would just stick to drinks. Overall, i would go back for the vibes, views, drinks and service.

I had such a great experience here on a Friday night! Not only was the food amazing, but they also had live music, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. I ordered the grilled chicken with Caesar salad, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and the salad was fresh, crisp, and topped with just the right amount of parmesan. The waiting time was awesome — my food came out quickly, and the service was friendly and attentive the whole time. The service was friendly and attentive, and the live music created such a fun and welcoming vibe. It was the perfect combination of great food, great service, and great ambiance. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends! For dessert, I had the most indulgent treat a rich brownie topped with creamy ice cream, drizzled in caramel and chocolate, sprinkled with nuts, and finished with swirls of whipped cream. Every bite was a perfect balance of warm and cold, sweet and nutty. It was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked!

Enjoyed my dinner here with my parents. Our waitress was great and really sweet! I really enjoyed the board we got and the drinks, the enclosed porch was great to sit and people watch.

Meatball Trio and colossal shrimp were excellent. Sea bass special was good once salted - very bland upon delivery, and the lobster role was inconsistent throughout - some bites were tender and buttery and others dry, chewy and lacking flavor. The smash burger (not pictured) was just ok. We received our food before drinks, had empty water glasses most of the time, and our server forgot two or three time each: silverware (we ended up taking from the server station), water, salt, and a to go box. Good location and spot for people watching through the windows.

Highly recommend! As visitors, we wanted a place for dinner that was in the heart of downtown but didn't feel touristy. The lasagna bianca was absolutely delicious as was the salmon! Even though we were full, we had to try the bread pudding -- we savored every moist, rich, satisfying bite. (The portion was so generous that we took some home for later!) I am a foodie at heart and was so glad we ate here, sitting in the tasteful bar area overlooking cobblestone streets with docks across the street.

Stopped in here twice the week of 9/14/25 stumbled into the bar Sunday evening because we heard the live Jazz from the street. Had excellent cocktails at the bar while enjoying the music. Spoke with chef, Andrew and he talked us into visiting later in the week on Taco Tuesday, which we did. We loved the Birria Tacos and Salmon entree. I also want to give a shoutout to our server Connor, he was excellent as well. The whole vibe of this restaurant is classy and fun. While the food and drinks are just as enjoyable! We will definitely be back next time we’re in Newport.

From the moment we walked in the door, it was the coolest vibe in Newport. We sat at the bar with Jonah and Angel because we didn't have a reservation on a busy Friday night, had great drinks. Manager came and grabbed us as she was able to seat us with Sailor, probably one of the best service we ever had. Such a beautiful place with great music.

Stopped in to grab a late lunch, both the food and service was great. We sat outside and enjoyed our sandwiches. I ordered the tuna melt with sourdough bread and my wife ordered the jerk chicken sandwich both were served with sweet potato fries. The food didn’t take too long to be served and was delicious. The inside was very clean with plenty of seating both inside and out.

Happy music greets you for your morning visit. I had the veggies omelet it was delicious, loaded with veggies. The coffee was great. The service is very friendly. Its a pretty cafe, located near the Newport Policestation. They have a large breakfast selection, on weekends and also have dinner all week.

As someone from Queens, NY- Rhode Island is not exactly a place I'd expect to find decent Caribbean food, however. wow. Hummingbird is not just decent but actually some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. I dug in so quickly, I almost forgot to snap decent pictures! My husband and I stopped in for a quick lunch while in town and the food was incredibly delicious and satisfying. The staff was prompt and patient and the restaurant was very clean. We ordered the crispy chicken and jerk chicken since they were out of the brown stew chicken. There were a few sides to choose from but my faves were the rice and beans and the cabbage salad- which I'm going to try making at home. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an authentic taste of Caribbean food :)

Excellent breakfast. Like some others, intended to go to Corner Cafe but the line was absurd. Hummingbird serves a delicious breakfast. Had the eggs Benedict with potatoes. A perfect poached egg takes some skill. Top notch, great flavor, and I'm usually not a fan of breakfast potatoes. Good service, pleasant outdoor seating area, good coffee. Would come here again for breakfast in Newport.

Nice atmosphere and clean restaurant. Server was kind but slow at the end to get us the check. Miso and edamame was good. Deep fries sushi roll was just okay and the spicy salmon roll was stringy.

Everything tastes so sweet - the ramen, udon, even gyoza. They did not taste savory at all, just too much sweetness. The service was so so. We went early in the evening, so there were only 3 tables, but we had to wave them down for everything.

Visited one evening for dinner while in town for a few days and was not disappointed! I made a reservation prior to showing up and the staff was attentive despite having to wait a while at the front to be seated-not because they were full but because no one came, although there were lots of staff about. Despite being pregnant and unable to enjoy my favorite sushi, I'm still thinking about the vegetable udon noodles I had here. The noodle texture was perfection and the veggies were crispy just the way I prefer! My husband ordered sushi & was impressed by how fresh it tasted. I'd say the prices were comparable to NYC sushi restaurants which was unexpected for a RI restaurant. We also ordered the veggie fried rice to try- which was just ok and a bit bland. The spicy yakitori app was pretty tasty but only 2 skewers for $9+ isn't the best deal. Not sure if I'd visit again but definitely somewhere I'd recommend trying.

Really great sushi restaurant, good customer service and overall very pleasant atmosphere. Great selection of drinks including wide variety of sake by which to choose from. Not the cheapest sushi place around, but I would say it is high quality for what you get. I recommend checking it out!

The chef's tasting experience at Cara at The Chanler is something to behold. With two seatings in a breathtaking, semi-private dining room that overlooks the waterfront cliffs of Newport, you truly feel like you are on a luxury reality show with delectable surprises around every corner. The very decorated, passionate chef brings out each course himself and delivers a few words about it, including origins of the dish idea and components (many of which are sourced from local gardens). We had the ultimate fancy birthday celebration, with plenty of banter with the chef and staff, who were always eager to please and answer questions. If you're celebrating something special in Newport and you're an adventurous foodie, Cara is a must do.

I celebrated my 32nd birthday with my best friends by enjoying the tasting menu here. The chef came out to explain each dish. Our server was amazing and so knowledgeable as well. The ambiance was very high class but warm and welcoming at the same time, which is a hard thing to come by. The food was impeccable and I highly recommend this experience to anyone who goes to Newport.

We had a wonderful experience at Cara Restaurant at The Chanler Cliff Walk. The setting was enchanting, the food exquisite, and the service outstanding. What truly elevated our visit was the friendly hospitality of Steve, our server. Despite limited plant-based or vegetarian options on the menu, Steve graciously guided us through suitable choices and even consulted the kitchen for tailored recommendations. He also shared insights into the origins of the kitchen's produce and provided valuable wine recommendations, all with the warmth of conversing with old friends. When my wife asked for the desert menu, she expressed that she was looking for something with chocolate, but very small. At seeing her disappointment at seeing that the tasty chocolate desert on the menu was rather large and mixed with bananas, Steve excused himself and a minute later surprised us with four delectable dark chocolate truffles for everyone at the table, perfectly satisfying our craving! But Steve's kindness didn't stop there. Upon admiring The Chanler, we inquired about touring the grounds after dinner, to which Steve enthusiastically agreed. As we settled the bill, he informed us that he had arranged for a tour of some of the rooms with the front desk. Steve's thoughtful gestures truly made our evening unforgettable. Thank you Steve!

This was a very unique experience. The chef came out and explained to us about every dish on our table as it came out. At the end we were very full. The flavors were very unique and creative. My wife and I came on our honeymoon, and it was a little out of our comfort zone. Some of the food was outstanding, while a few of the portions required us to be a little more open minded. If you want a truly unique dining experience, this is the place to come to. Thank you chef!

We have dined at many Michelin rated restaurants and the service at Cara was by far the best service we have ever had. We had the blind tasting and the attention to detail and flavor was incredible. Chef Jacob’s passion for food shows in every dish. Simply amazing!

I highly recommend doing the 5pm Cara tasting. I know that seems early for a fancy dinner, but the entire experience takes 2.5 hours, and you'll end up sitting through the most perfect and beautiful beach sunset. If you do the 8pm it's already dark when you get there and all you see is darkness and headlights up ocean drive.

Been meaning to try this hidden gem for a while now, after friends have raved about it and it did not disappoint. We started with the pan fried (vegetable)dumplings and they were soft pillowy pockets of goodness….yum. My wife had the pork (Tonkotsu) & I had the Spicy Miso(chicken) ramen and both were outstanding. I love hot and spicy so this was tight up my ally with eggs perfectly cooked, great, great flavor with scrumptious home made noodles. Very generous portions to boot We will definitely be back

I have been wanting to try Yagi Noodles for the longest time — the menu looked amazing, and it definitely lived up to the hype. We arrived around one o’clock and had a short wait, but it turned out to be worth it since it was Restaurant Week. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated how accommodating they were. They customized my noodles with a mushroom broth, and I went for the tonkatsu noodle — absolutely delicious. For starters, I tried the dumplings, and they were some of the best I’ve had. My husband ordered the same noodles with the bar buns, and he said it was one of the most refreshing and solid noodle dishes he’s had in New England — and let me tell you, he’s a total food snob! The real standout, though, was their Moon Drink hands down the best drink I’ve ever had. It had this beautiful mix of mango, coconut, and jasmine, with a touch of sake that was so smooth you could barely taste the alcohol. The only slight letdown was the dessert — the mango sago and chocolate chip cookie with puffed rice didn’t quite match the rest of the meal. But honestly, I’d happily skip dessert and come back for everything else. Yagi Noodles is one of the best finds in Newport — cozy, creative, and absolutely worth the visit.

Honestly, just delicious. All of the ingredients are high quality and fresh. Coupled with an inviting, hip atmosphere and really friendly staff, this is a restaurant worth traveling to! Already looking forward to coming back.

Good spicy ramen and strawberry matcha bubble tea. A bit overpriced, but what really bothered me was seeing that the tip was already included on the receipt, with another line inviting you to add more and double-tip. The service wasn’t exceptional either, by the end, she stopped coming to our table.

Overall an average ramen experience. Unfortunately I lived in Japan for several years and have a very high standard when it comes to ramen. The broth was very rich and flavorful. The noodles were cooked just right. Unfortunately, the tiny bowl of noodles was served only warm, not piping hot as it should. The pork was beautifully charred, but more chewy and tough than tender. I went during Newport Restaurant week and ate from the fixed price menu. But almost $40 for an appetizer, small ramen bowl, and a dessert was a little steep. The atmosphere is trying too hard to be hip and gentrified.

This is my favorite restaurant in Newport!!!!! Super friendly staff and Amazing flavors, to be honest this is my favorite Ramen place in America. They change certain items on the menu seasonally so there’s always fresh ideas going on. when you come to Newport don’t only think about the seafood, you should try a unique business like Yagi !!!!!

A very nice dinner in this quaint and simple elegant designed restaurant. We had the clam chowder and lobster bisque to start, lobster carbonara for me and butternut squash agnolotti for my wife. Dessert of cappuccino cheesecake and peach bread pudding. All delicious and well proportioned. Friendly and timely a service in a neat area of the city.

Everything about this restaurant was so amazing! I went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and everything was above and beyond. The restaurant is so pretty and such a nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend sitting outside if you have the opportunity. All of the food we got was spectacular. The portions here are so good. We got the duck and lobster quesadillas (which seemed like an odd pairing but worked very well) and a cesear salad as starters. The salad was big and perfect for 2 people to split. For the main course my boyfriend got the lobster carbonara and I got the steak frites. Portions were super nice and everything was great. We also got a slice of their olive oil cake and the berries they put on the side I will be thinking about for a long time. Really recommend coming here to get dinner!!

The Bacon Onion Jam burger was the best burger ever. My friend got the Butternut Squash Agnolotti and she said it was lovely as well.

From A to Z, everything was perfect. Stellar starters and cocktails, healthy salads and scrumptious entrees. The divine food was only exceeded by the warm and welcoming personnel. Food and drink aside, after our second meal, the nice folks who served us, had identified “our table.” A heartfelt thanks to our friends at “Jo’s American Bistro!”

Food and service was very good here. Lighting is dark leading to a quiet, relaxing experience. Music playing was superb as well.

Went in for dinner during Newport Restaurant Week, had the autumn pumpkin bisque and my girlfriend had the autumn salad. They were amazing! For dinner she had the Chicken Sorren5no and I had the surf and turf. Again amazing food. Only down side is that we were upstairs and it was on the warm side. But overall we had a wonderful experience.

We had gone during a long weekend, so naturally the place was quite packed. Even with the crowd, the wait time was surprisingly short — we got a table in about 10 minutes, which was impressive. As for the food, it was definitely enjoyable. I ordered the lobster roll, and it turned out really tasty. The filling was generous, and with the French fries on the side, it was quite a hearty meal. I also tried a bite of the fish and chips — that was even more delicious, maybe because of the crispy flour coating and frying 😋. The shrimp pasta too was flavourful and hit the spot.

This was our first visit to this seafood spot, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. Prices felt fair for the quality, and I’d definitely suggest trying the lobster roll—it was a highlight. The menu offers plenty of appetizers and entrées, so there’s something for everyone. The view of the bay was stunning, and as the sun began to set, it created such a beautiful atmosphere that we wished we had more time to stay and enjoy it. Our server was attentive, always checking in and keeping our drinks full, and the dishes came out promptly. If you’re looking for a place with great seafood, warm service, and unforgettable views, I’d highly recommend The Lobster Bar.

Easy and fun spot if you are looking for a restaurant with good views! We stopped in after one of the sunset sailing tours and were happy to be warmed up with some clam chowder soup. The food was okay but not amazing so this is more of a spot if you have a large party or want water front scenery as there is a ton of seating. Their lobster roll is served cold so if you aren’t a big lobster person, wouldn’t go for that. The fish and chips were fine, can’t really mess up fried fish :) would probably still go back if with a group. Service was pleasant and there’s plenty of TVs if you’re trying to catch a game.

10/25 - Here on a NE bus trip & wanted to eat someplace with a view, boy were we happy with this place. Good food, good service and the view we were looking for. The wife had crab cakes, I had the lobster roll flight (3 ways). I have to say her crab cakes were better 😁. Average beer selection with a couple of unique ones. Satisfied our needs both visually and gastronomically.

I went to eat at lunch time at a weekday and no wait or reservations needed. I got the clam chowder and fried seafood platter. The clam chowder was average nothing special but the fried clams had a weird taste. It tasted like it was not prepared properly, there was dark green and gritty substance with the clams. The other fried stuff was fine. I do not recommend getting the fried clams.

The slaw on the side was crisp, light, and flavorful — a great balance to the richness of the roll. My companion’s grilled salmon was beautifully prepared — tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with asparagus, roasted tomatoes, and a bright lemon-herb sauce. Service was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating made for an ideal dining experience. Highly recommend The Lobster Bar for anyone looking for great seafood done right.

Stopped in late on a Monday for some cocktails and ended up getting the lobster Mac and cheese. It was ok. Also got the tuna poke and it was very good. The drinks were good and the lady working the bar was very friendly.

I only tried 3 dishes, the prosciutto pasta, the mozzarella stick, and the rigatoni. All three dishes had a lot of potential, but we're missing something. The chicken on the rigatoni had no flavor, as if it was grilled without seasoning; the mozzarella was burned on the outside. The prosciutto pasta was the only one that had a good taste overall. There were several groups when I visited, so it was very loud.

An absolute incredible experience at this restaurant! The rigatoni alla vodka with chicken was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked pasta with rich, flavorful sauce. The service was just as amazing: swift, warm, and genuinely friendly, making us feel like family from the moment we walked in. I also loved that the menu had so many great options. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes.

The restaurant is huge and gives a classy warm vibe on a rainy day. Our server was great and he kept checking in or provided updates. The burrata salad came with a nice pesto sauce and it was filling with the additional flatbread. The Aunt Ann pizza is their specialty and was delicious. I really enjoyed the spicy soppressata and the crust held up nicely.

We hosted the welcome party for our son's wedding Fri Sept 19th at Sardella's. The entire experience was amazing. Patrick the event coordinator was pleasant, prompt, patient and the entire planning process was very smooth. The event was just perfect from the food through the extremely attentive service from Jane and Will. Our guests were very complimentary of everything and more importantly so were the bride and groom! We booked the Tuscan room upstairs for a rehearsal dinner and welcome party and they did not disappoint! 30 for dinner and 70 after for welcome party went seamlessly. Matt and Sue guided us through the night and put us at ease. The food was AMAZING and the service even better. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. Love it John S.

Kath got the ravioli special, she said it was good. Ken and meg got the pasta with red sauce, they said it was good. I got the ravioli panna prosciutto and it was a glorious melody of well balanced cream, acid, salty and peppery. We all got drinks they were all good.

Very average food and service compared to the price. I had a very overpriced mediocre Ceasar salad with shrimp. The meatballs and calamari were acceptable. Other dishes in our group were mostly mediocre. What really got to me was when I asked a server/busser for crushed red pepper and he threw his hands in the air in disgust because it was such a bother for me to ask him. Olive Garden quality with Newport prices. (Actually I'd prefer Olive Garden at this point 😆) There are many other far better Italian restaurants in the area! EDIT: Let me add that our server was good and tried her best, but the busser who threw his hands up in the air when I asked for red pepper ruined it for us. Sorry, Damon but your response just made it worse. Actually, I'm shocked by your completely dismissive, unapologetic response. Is that a 😆 emoji in your response? I've been to many restaurants, and had many wonderful local dining experiences since covid so your point is irrelevant and condescending. Sardellas is no longer up to par.. not even close. Also, reminder that Devin, and his brother spent many years there in the kitchen. A shame that you responded in this way.

I loved loved loved this place. I went for Easter with a group of friends. The food was amazing and they have an excellent wine list too. They also have an amazing assortment of desserts. My favorite was the lemon cake!!!

We just ate dinner there for Mother's Day: myself, my husband, and our 3 kids (ages 9, 11, and 13). The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and intimate. The staff were very friendly, and the food was amazingly delicious! It is now one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. Every meal was fresh, authentic, and delicious. We had many dishes (as you can see in the photos), including starters and three different pasta dishes. We finished everything. Great portions. The drinks—cocktails—were great, too. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived just after they opened at 5 PM and were warmly greeted at the door. Although we didn’t have a reservation, the staff—possibly the owner—kindly let us know they could seat us as long as we could finish within an hour and a half due to a later reservation for the table. That was more than enough time for dinner, and we appreciated the accommodation. Our server was excellent—friendly, professional, and thorough in explaining the specials. We ordered the penne pasta and the seafood pasta, and both dishes were outstanding. The seafood was fresh, the pasta perfectly cooked, and the flavors were rich and balanced. Highly recommend this restaurant—not just for the great food, but also for the exceptional customer service. We’re so glad we stopped in!

Very interesting place. It's in an old house and I feel it may look exactly how it did from day 1. The food was amazing and our server Robert was outstanding. He definitely added to the experience. The house itself was old and needed work but I feel that would take away from the whole feel of the place you really feel like you're having a home cooked meal. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures but I'm definitely going back.

Cute and cozy place! Got Ragu bolognese and chicken dish, paired well! Got Cabernet for wine. Bread was nice and fresh, Dessert we got pistachio cake, YUMMY

Always our favorite Italian restaurant in Newport! Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Small and intimate, so reservations are needed. Great wine selections and amazing pasta options…always worth trying the specials. So many favorites that we rotate and share. The servers are all great and the owner pays attention to all details so that the experience is perfect! It’s our first and last stop each season.

Best authentic Italian food. We went on the recommendation of the hotel staff and we were not disappointed. It is the coolest restaurant setset in an old house and has been there for the last 33 years. I will definitely go back again!

The breakfast was very good. The portions are large. The spinach omelette and the banana pancakes are delicious. Will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Nice family place with plenty of parking. The food was good, not great. We had tthe artichoke salad and the seafood scampi. Chicken dish was bland, but was the better of the two dishes. Scampi lacked flavor and some of the lobster was too chewy to eat. Service was very good and prices are reasonable.

We decided to stop by here at the end of our vacation. What a treat! Food was delicious. Although the atmosphere is somewhat loud from all the people conversing. Place was packed! No outside tables although they are located right near the ocean. While it is not a place for a romantic dinner, it definitely is for a great meal!

Nachos seemed straight out of a commercial. Service was poor, but could be the staff is worn out due to a long weekend and high tourist rate. Overall, I’d be willing to give this place a second shot, even if only to go for the Nachos!!!! Absolutely insane Nachos!

Great for breakfast or lunch. Great food at a good price. The atmosphere is like a museum with many pictures, old signs, artifacts from the beaches and waterfronts around Newport.

Very good and tasty homemade burgers. The place however was a bit noisy and not entirely pleasant. The food though was very good and affordable in comparison with other restaurants in the area.

I got the baked stuffed Maine Lobster. It was extremely dry and overcooked. I would have sent it back but we waited so long for our food and were hungry so I ate it. It was the worst Maine lobster I have ever had. My boyfriend had a Lobster and bacon quesadilla. Not very good either. The restaurant only had a few people in it so why it took so long we dont know. Our waitress never introduced herself..only checked on us once..and we had to ask for refills on our tea. My boyfriend ordered coleslaw and never got it. At that point we were aggravated..paid our bill and left. We tipped 20 percent despite bad service and food because I never feel comfortable taking away someones wages..$85 dinner..We dont reccommend it and would never go back. No one made us feel welcome. We drove up from Florida and were looking forward to good Maine lobster. Disappointing!

We got room service from here. There is a 6 dollar delivery fee and an automatic 20% gratitude. Neither of us liked the pizza, but the meal did come quickly and was well plated. The fries were very good. It’s a bit pricey but honestly what’s to be expected in the area.

Bit of a hidden gem. This place is not in one of the main restaurant areas but is located in the Hotel Viking so if you weren't aware it was there, you could easily overlook, but we're so glad we did not! The drinks and food were all amazing and we loved that they took some classics but added unique elements to them (I especially loved their take on the Burrata salad!). We went at an off time so was slower but it's lovely restaurant and hotel. Service was super friendly and helpful - thank you James and Angela! We'll definitely come back our next time to Newport.

Delayed review but 5 star experience for Valentine’s Day dinner! The service was so great and staff was super friendly and attentive. We did the dinner + wine pairing and thought everything was excellent! They even had a little sign for our table since it was our anniversary which was a nice touch. I would recommend!

I attended a Galentine’s Day tea here. The atmosphere was relaxed & each table was beautifully arranged. The food & tea were both delicious & the complimentary valet was convenient. As far as service, I felt a little neglected as I noticed that other tables were offered milk for their tea & another glass of wine. I wasn’t offered either. The service team, however, was nice.

My wife and I both got burgers which were very good. The house salad was also good. They offer a limited menu during the week. The martini was disappointing. The smallest martini glass I've ever seen, for $15! They also offered a cool mock tail selection. Also very expensive considering

The Viking hotel is on the national registry of historic hotels. The exterior facade is absolutely stunning-beautiful brick building located in a perfect setting to walk everywhere. There is vallet parking which is included in the price so taking advantage of that is a must. The inside of the building is grand, big, old with a mix of new and the management takes pride in the way the building looks. The indoor pool and hot tub are large enough, though the carpet in the pool area is unsanitary and should be replaced with tile. The gym is a good size as well and all the recreational facilities can be used at any time. Aside from the view of Newport and the ocean from our room, this was the least impressive part of the hotel. The room was very tight and really uncomfortable once they brought a bed on wheels there for use as the third bed. Overall a pleasant experience and a bargain for three nights and I would definitely stay there again.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Viking during my recent trip to Newport, RI, and I was instantly transported to the Gilded Age. My first day, while it poured outside, I ventured into the bar at One Bellevue. Initially, I was in the mood for tea, but the Gimlet on the menu caught my eye and felt perfectly in tune with the Gilded Age vibe I was seeking after visiting The Breakers. Lincoln, the bartender, crafted the most exquisite Gimlet—a perfectly balanced mix of tart, sweet, and a hint of gin. It was so delightful that I decided the Gimlet would be my drink for the vacation, if not the entire summer! Throughout my stay, I sampled Gimlets at various spots, including The Mooring, where it was just okay, and 22 Bowen's, where it was better. However, none could compare to the perfection of the Gimlet at One Bellevue. I had to return for another before my trip ended. I cannot recommend One Bellevue, Lincoln, and their exceptional Gimlet enough. It truly encapsulated the elegance and charm of Newport's historic allure.

This restaurant has by far the best water view dining in the area. Great for enjoying a delicious lunch while watching the sail boats cruise along the harbor. There are plenty of seating scattered throughout the property but on a busy summer day, make sure your reserve a table ahead of time. Food was decent but you really come here for the view and the sun.

Great! Awesome place to lounge and enjoy some good food and friends. Fish tacos were delicious. Swordfish was well prepared and presented. Cornbread was delectable. The kids enjoyed their meals and experience. Good drinks selection

We had such a wonderful experience at The Lawn Terrace! We tried the avocado toast, corn bread, fried calamari, burrata, and eggs Benedict — and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The calamari was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The atmosphere makes it even better. Tables typically require reservations, but bar seating is available for walk-ins, which is super convenient. You can also just grab a drink and enjoy it near the ocean view, which creates such a relaxing and beautiful dining experience. Highly recommend this spot for both the food and the stunning setting — we’ll definitely be back!

Best place there is. Service was perfect, views were perfect and food was amazing. I watched many of the workers being rude to by other patronage but they handled it beautifully and professional. Food was hot and great and the views can not be beat. We sat at the bar as well and the bartenders were amazing. I can not say enough about those that work here. They deserve so much.

Had an absolutely amazing time! We reserved the private Adirondack experience because we were a group of 7. It was so worth it. The service was fantastic. Steph was with us and she was top notch. The drinks were great, the food was fabulous, loved the minister rolls and the view was impeccable. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Been around the world and understand what makes an outstanding travel experience...Our experience was going well until we encountered Julia who was amazingly rude and off Putting. Our first and most likely our Last time. The view is beautiful but unfortunately our experience with the staff member created a negative experience and impression for future experiences. It is a shame that a beautiful view and great drinks are shadowed by terrible customer service. My suggestion go for a drink,scenery and instagram photos but eat Elsewhere for true authentically quality pleasurable experience in Newport RI!

Beautiful place to have lunch or dinner. The view of Newport is amazing, you will see lots of birds and boat/ships passing by. The food is top tier ! I recommend the beef carpaccio and the sea bass , you will not be disappointed! All of the staff were really nice and accommodating to my friends with certain food restrictions. Will definitely come here again soon!

Good outdoor patio. Great drinks, food, and music in the afternoon. The service was non-existent. The wait staff were standing around vs attending to tables. The restaurant was practically empty due to rain, but no wait staff at the high tops. Ended up going to the bar to order drinks and food. The frozen mudslide with a floater was great as was the veggie burger. I would recommend them both. There is a great pond in the center for kids to play and catch plastic fish toys. Do not sit at the high tops unless you are using the bar for service. The bartenders were great, but the wait staff definitely needs training in customer service.

if you’re considering eating here, JUST DO IT. the clam chowder, lobster roll, and mudslides are so delicious. we also ordered shrimp curry and the jerk chicken, which if you can handle spice you should order. our waitress told us that the chef was Jamaican, so really flavorful delicious food. the atmosphere is so nice in the spring/summer with the outdoor seating. we sat next to the water fountain with rubber duckies!! and the mudslides tasted like spiked McFlurries. if i could rate this place higher, i would. 10/10 recommend.

I recently visited this past holiday weekend for a birthday celebration and, as always, you guys did not disappoint … Outside dining, the atmosphere, the food, the staff, I even had a laugh with another patron over the Mac and cheese with lobster 🤭 Our server, Taylor is A+ Not only did she do her job exceptionally well, her her personality and extra attn to the smallest of detail, definitely got my attn. enough that I wanted to review her before the food and drink… The food and drink did not disappoint. It was as great as Taylor’s service. I gave the bartender creative liberty .. and he delivered deliciously. Ordered the fries and buffalo wings, which were some of the best on my list! Thank you for always being a great experience! Never disappointed!

We’ve gone a few times now, to both the outside and inside portions, and we’ve never been disappointed!! I’ve tried multiple dishes, including the lobster salad roll, which was outstanding. The food, service, and atmosphere are all amazing. Everyone is incredibly nice and the food is amazing. A perfect setting and features entertainment for kids. We brought a dog once and he received amazing service and treatment as well. Definitely one of our go-to places :)

We were given drink tickets here from our Newport Foodies Tour. Our drinks (Tommy's Big Ginger and a Kentucky Mule) were well made by a bartender who appeared quite overworked but was very friendly. I did not order food but saw and smelled plenty of it go by. We had a lot of food on our tour and I was full but I was almost tempted to order since it all looked great

A bit of a wait to get in. Server wasn't very familiar with the menu/ingredients of items. Food was great. Lobster mac and cheese had tons of lobster in it.

We enjoyed our dinner. Great outdoor seating area, food was good. My husband said his burger was good and I had the Greek salad which was great. Our server Miyah B was excellent. She seemed genuinely sweet and was attentive without being overly attentive. I watched her interact with kids at a nearby table and she was great. Great casual dining spot.

Been to Newport many times over the past 25+ yrs but had never been to Tickets until this visit & went twice because it was so good!! The fish & chips (ordered twice), chorizo mac & cheese, caesar salad with a side of steak & the surf & turf were all delicious!! Also ordered a pitcher of the pineapple cake mimosas, really good!! Will definitely visit again next year when I return! Outside seating with a service dog was great!! First visit were offered a bowl of water for the dog, second visit no offer, so only 4 stars on the service.

Everything was amazing. View is amazing, food was good! Fish & chips so good! Clam chowder flavor was awesome, just wish there were more clams in it. Clam cakes were fabulous and a lot of clams in there! Fried scallops were also good. Fried pickles are always good flavor! Our server Hannah was great very attentive even though the place was rocking!! Definitely will come back!

Fantastic food and service. Abra was awesome! Thank you! ... and yes... I'd never had tartar sauce with fried shrimp... always cocktail sauce! The tartar sauce was not only a better choice... but it was REALLY GOOD TARTAR SAUCE!!! Good job of getting me to do both!

Sit on 2nd floor, excellent ocean view. Yummy clam chowder. Fried scallops good but smaller portion, Burger good. Shrimp tacos only 2 but tasty. Plenty of onsite customer parking at 5pm

The food was absolutely amazing and the appetizers were delicious. The server was attentive but a bit on the slower side. My soda was flat but they said they couldn’t change that. Other than that all of the food was very much worth its cost and I highly recommend this restaurant!

Came here with the family. Watched the bills game and had some great food! Lobster roll was delish. The best part was the pesto shrimp pizza!

The food was great—I had the lobster roll and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the meal. I had to ask another waiter just to get a water refill, and my server (Tori5, as listed on the receipt) never checked in after taking my order. I would’ve ordered another drink, but never got the chance. I noticed she was very friendly with other tables, which made the lack of attention even more noticeable. Disappointing, especially considering I’m a guest at the hotel they own across the street.

I always swing by here every time I’m in town for their Australian meat pies. I fell in love with these types of pies after backpacking though Australia and it’s great that we have something like this here in the New England area. From their menu: “A milk bar is traditionally a suburban social venue and snack bar that sold light refreshments, fresh sandwiches, hamburgers, milkshakes, meat pies, various sweets, groceries, and newspapers. The traditional Australian milk bar enjoyed its heyday during the 1940s–1980s, much like the American Diner.” Swing by for their meat pies and other breakfast items. They have a really good flat white as well!

This is a great, fun little restaurant! The breakfast food here is FANTASTIC, and comes at a great price too! The potatoes we had were great, but everything in general was quite tasty. We liked it so much, that we went here twice for breakfast! The staff here is great, too — so friendly. Would definitely come back if I was in Newport again.

This place is so eclectic! Tasty, fresh food served by a smiley Aussie named Hadyn. Fun decor to look at, fast service. Worth a visit. I had the pad Thai chicken wrap and DH had lamb sandwich (which they are know for). Loved sitting at the bar by the window for people watching.

I was in town for a wedding so I knew I needed a filling breakfast. This was a great choice! I had a Flat white (pictured) and a Big Brekkie (pictured) with eggs over well and whole wheat toast. It was delicious!! Meg was our server (also the owner) and was fabulous. She made us feel right at home! I would highly recommend stopping in here!!

Visiting from N.J. Came here for breakfast at 8am. Can’t say enough good things! Fast and friendly service, amazing food, great prices! Got the avocado toast (added 2 eggs on top), kids got chocolate chip pancakes. All was delicious. The ice Australian coffee was smooth and rich, not too sweet, and made me want a second! If your in town I definitely recommend a visit.

My boyfriend and I ate here two mornings in a row because we loved it so much! I couldn't recommend this spot more. The food is great, the staff is awesome and the vibe is perfect.

This is an okay coffee shop. Its convenient because its right outside of the naval base. The coffee is okay and so were the breakfast sandwiches. This location was a bit boring and empty. I think their other location maybe a bit more charming and inviting. Its worth a try!!

Definitely a cute place and a great location. I really liked the vibe there. They had dog biscuits and made me a pup cup for my fur baby. I like sugar-free options, and there aren’t any in the flavored syrups, but the cold brew was delicious. The scone was OK and the server running the counter seemed annoyed. Otherwise, I would’ve given it five stars.

I stopped by because of the RI Food Fights Iced Coffee Celebration and was so glad I did! I ordered an iced coffee with brown sugar cinnamon flavoring which was delicious as well as a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was one of the best I've had! Lot of seating and outlets for getting work done as well as a cute kids area in the back.

The spinach feta pocket is so tasty. The area is so beautiful and they have really nice indoor seating as well as a lovely outdoor seating area.

Nice local coffee shop. Very spacious inside and offers plenty of seating. The blueberry crumb cake was to die for, but we also got a egg sandwich and avocado toast, both superb!! The coffee was a little weak for my liking, cappuccino was a mostly milk but still had good flavor, more like a small latte than a cap. Staff was very friendly and accommodating!

We stopped by twice when we were in the Newport area. The bus from Providence stops nearby, and it's a good location to start the day in Newport, whether going down to the harbor, Thames St, or towards the mansions. The Dulcato is good, refreshing, and you don't have to add anything or think about which flavor to add. BEC sandwich was solid, and pastries. Seating inside was pleasant and lively. It seemed like locals enjoy as well.

Interesting food options, the Korean BBQ Ribs and Poutine tots were our favorites. We also had short rib flatbread, pickle egg rolls, corn tacos, K-9 cup, and cookie skillet. They were all pretty good. The cookie skillet was kind of fun that it came out sizzling but was too hot to eat for a while, I had to get a side plate to switch it to because the cookie was getting overcooked. There was a table of 7 that all asked for separate checks which is a wild request and so our server was busy closing out that table for a very long time. Fountain sodas are not free refills which I also thought was wild, especially since we waited so long for them to come. If I knew I was paying for refills, I would have turned them away since by the time they showed up, we finished our meals.

Although the service was great and food was good, I wasn’t a fan of the creepy homeless guy gawking at my family and other girls walking by during the meal. The atmosphere would have been great otherwise. The Cumberland Farms across the street seems to create a good hangout spot for the bunch. Not really what I’m looking for in a good brunch experience, NGL.

Service was so slow outside we sat for over 50 minutes before getting our food. Service was really terrible and other people who were sat after us got taken care of first like it was a personal thing with the server. Food mediocre. The home fries were unseasoned and bland, terrible really go elsewhere. Server also had long hair down which is not normal for any dining establishment and how hair gets into food.

Visited here when I came to Newport for the first time back in May to avoid tourist season. We were the only people in this place & the bartender/server was super nice & quick with service. I tried the Brussel sprouts appetizer (unreal), and the blueberry grilled cheese which was okay, just loaded with thyme which was not my favorite-but I’m picky. The artwork on the walls was amazing & the vibe was super cool. Definitely coming back!

First time visiting this place from out of town. Overall good experience. Good customer service and good food. Not great food but good food. Prices are discounted on entrees Monday nights, so arguably the best night to try it! I have to remove a full star simply because this place labels itself as a "cocktail bar" on Google, but in order to be a proper cocktail bar, your drinks better be stellar and properly made and served in proper glassware worthy of the drink you ordered, not served in a beer glass. This place is just not a cocktail bar, I'm sorry. The lavender cocktail was the best of the four tried though. I do recommend, but would order beer next time!

Went for 1/2 off apps on a Wednesday, should’ve arrived earlier but we were too busy exploring & had had a small snack elsewhere before their 3-5pm started. So many options & we were only hungry enough for one. BUT we came back later after dinner solely for the skillet chocolate chip cookie with bacon (anniversary treat!) & two super yummy fall cocktails. Delectable. Daytime bartender was lovely & appropriately chatty over post-season baseball. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

Their menu is phenomenal. I tried the ragu and my husband had the blackened salmon burger. Both were excellent. I had the jalapeno pineapple margarita and it was also delicious.

I never understood the hype over grilled cheese sandwiches. After scratch, now I get not only the hype but I’ve met the heart and soul of grilled cheese sandwiches. We had a Reuben and it was amazing as well. The place could be nicer but again when the food it’s so good, aesthetics don’t matter.

Wow, I'm a local and stopped in and grabbed a lunch special which came w fresh curried carrot soup, half a grilled cheese and some spud nuggets. Also a cookie and a drink! The staff are super fun and friendly and they have a great menu for breakfast and lunch. Salads, wraps, sides, fresh cookies too. Great little spot on Broadway!

Scratch is a whole vibe! While visiting RI, we stumbled on Scratch. Great food, excellent service. The team was very friendly and accommodating. We observed the team interact with an older regular, and they treated her like she was family🥹. Talk about kindness with a side of affordability❤️

Love this place! There sandwiches are some of the tastiest I’ve had at such a low price as well. It seems to be a great spot if you’re exploring Newport or want a tasty option for lunch. I highly recommend “The Deluxe” simple but delicious option!

We came here based on all the positive reviews. They were correct. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. It’s a small place, but we didn’t have trouble getting a table. Definitely a hidden gem.

The more "popular" breakfast place to the block was crowded so we popped in here. What an unexpected delight. The Spud Nuggets, though not what I was expecting, were absolutely delicious. The OG burrito was seasoned to perfection. My Wife and daughter also raved about their meals. DO NOT miss having your meal here!

Overall we had a decent time at the reef; we came for lunch. One thing that is a small pet peeve of mine is when a place will advertise indoor and outdoor seating, but there will be no barrier to the outside so the inside seating is basically outside anyway. It was a hot day and we had been out in the sun and asked to sit inside, but they had one of the walls open to the outdoors so the indoor seating really wasn’t much relief from the elements. Still, our server was very nice. It took a little while to get our food but it was very flavorful. I got the calamari and lobster bisque, my husband got the swordfish. We both enjoyed our dishes. We both drank water as our beverage however they didn’t put any ice in either of our drinks, and there was debris in my water- additionally because there was no barrier to the outdoors a gnat died in my soup and there was one in my water as well. The decor of the place feels a bit run down/dated for the menu price. While we were eating some guy was walking his dog through the area between the indoor and outdoor seating, and his dog urinated into one of the potted plants. No one (dog owner or staff) attempted to stop this from happening.

We made reservations for a waterside brunch. Farmers omelet was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was paired with simple spring greens with a light vinaigrette that was equally delicious. Avocado toast was very well done a tasty. Egg was perfectly cooked to a soft boil. Highly recommend both brunch items.

Food was just above average. Although the Greek Ceviche was odd IMO. Cheap plastic like Feta and raw fish was a weird combo. Most loved dishes of the night were the Watermelon Salad, Asian noodles and the Crispy tuna appetizer. Service was very friendly and the place is nice, right on the dock. Good gluten free knowledge and options.

This was a stop on the Newport Foodies Stroll. We had a bowl of their clam chowder. Apparently, Rhode Island Clam Chowder is very brothy whereas New England Clam Chowder is very creamy. This was described as a hybrid - more of a light cream. There is excellent flavor in every bite and I definitely recommend it. The view is quite wonderful as well.

The Reef was the perfect spot for my birthday brunch! The lobster benedict was AMAZING, really wished we'd gotten two! We had such a fun time with our server Jamie. It was hilarious trying to guess all the different songs that the live steel drum band were playing (live music on Sundays). Great views, great atmosphere! Would definitely go back.

Everything was just right. We almost did not get in though. They seat the last table at 8:45. Our server was wonderful. They were able to accommodate a food sensitivity to gluten, dairy and soy. She had the hamburger and truffle fries. They have a separate gluten free fryer.
