The Jordan Pond House Restaurant is a historic stop known for its tea with popovers and jam, as well as larger meals that offer a view of the pond and mountains. Situated along the Park Loop Road, visitors can drive through the park and make stops at various attractions such as overlooks, beaches, horse and carriage ride stables, hiking paths, gardens, and museums.
One of my favorite meals during my visit to Maine. Had reservations for dinner on the last day of the season 10/26. And although the menu was extremely limited and we were the absolute last table being served, it did not affect the level of service and quality of meal. Our server Jackson was super nice and knowledgeable. The popovers are a MUST (so good!) The chicken caesar wrap was perfect👌🏻, the grilled cheese was an elevated version and delicious🙌🏻! And the side of chips completely complimented the meals👍🏻 Also loved how cozy and welcoming the entire dining area was and the picturesque view of Jordan Pond 🫶🏻 Highly recommend making reservations and checking out this dining experience when visiting Acadia National Park! (Check seasonal hours of operation before showing up!!)

After hiking all afternoon — finishing with a beautiful 3.7-mile loop around Jordan Pond — we were ready to refuel and had zero desire to drive back into town. With mild skepticism, we decided to try the Jordan Pond House right there in the park… and we were pleasantly surprised! They seated us right away (despite the dinner rush) by a window overlooking the lake — the kind of view that makes you instantly forget your sore legs. Our server, a friendly and funny student from Eastern Europe working for the summer, was a highlight: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. We shared the Spinach Bacon Blue Cheese Salad, New England Baked Haddock with mashed potatoes and veggies, Lobster Stew, and of course, the famous Popover Sundae. Everything was excellent — my husband ranked their stew (bisque) in his top two of the entire trip, and the Popover Sundae? Pure indulgence, the kind that makes you consider hiking another 3 miles just to justify it. My Lavender Honey Bee gin cocktail was so good I happily ordered a second round. Ending our hike at Jordan Pond House turned out to be a perfect choice — beautiful trail, great meal, sunset views, and happy bellies.

We decided on a walk around Jordan Pond after a dinner in town when the crowds were gone for the day and parking was easier. I hadn't made reservations for lunch or dinner here knowing we were here at the busiest time of year, but I was interested in seeing the restaurant. We had reservations for sunset on Cadillac Mountain and decided to stop in for dessert before we headed up. Dimitar was our very kind and warm server and the other staff were also friendly and warm. The restaurant was quiet at this point after the dinner rush and we were able to appreciate rhe history of the place while waiting for our dessert. The popover sundae we had heard so much about was delicious- big enough that I am glad we decided to split one, though. Definitely recommend saving room for dessert or coming here for just this, as we did. On our next trip to Acadia I would love to have lunch outside. Highly recommend stopping here for the history, service, and food. And the gift shop! Lots of great stuff there, too.
Jackie A — Google review
Thought it would a bad tourist trap, but actually pretty good food for being in the middle of no where. The beef stew was soft and the lobster stew was savory and spicy with some green onions on top. Other lobster stews can be too creamy and boring, but this was really good. However the rice was too slimy because I can tell they don’t rinse the rice before cooking, I don’t think they know that has to be done. The popovers are ok, they’re just yorkshire pudding. Don’t come just for the popovers.
M L — Google review
We spontaneously biked to Jordan Pond House Restaurant just to check it out, since it’s an institution, and we weren’t planning on eating a meal here but decided to see how long the wait was. It was only 20 minutes initially, but then a table opened up and we were seated within a few minutes! We had an incredible table right by the windows facing the lawn and lake - absolutely breathtaking. Food and drinks were awesome. We had coffee, popovers, a lobster popover, and the pulled pork sandwich with blueberry bbq sauce. The blueberry sauce was amazing, just so great paired with the pork. The lobster popover was also delicious and good portions. I had a lavender gin and honey cocktail, and my husband had the nom-alcoholic blueberry Moscow mule. Both were so delicious! It’s worth visiting even just for the views, and just checking how long the wait will be. For a party of two it wasn’t bad at all but I can imagine it may be longer for bigger parties - can’t say for sure though!
Amanda S — Google review
Came here for dinner and it was delicious. We shared some lobster bisque, clam chowder, lobster Mac and cheese and lobster roll. Everything was really good. The drinks were really good too. We sat outside and the view was amazing. We were served by Lucky who did a great job of making us feel good. Whilst the food is expensive, we thought that it made up for itself and the service was great. In particular you cannot miss the popovers. They are amazing and taste great with butter and jam.
Lachlan P — Google review
We wanted to stop here while in Acadia, and we thought it would be neat. We weren't sure about the popovers, they seemed like a novelty. After dining here, I realized that you cannot skip this, and popovers are amazing. The regular popovers are light and fluffy and go well with the strawberry jam and butter. The chicken pot pie was one of the best I've ever had, and slapping it in a popover instead of crust was inspired. For drinks, we went with the herbal blueberry iced tea and the blueberry lemonade, of course. Both were delightful. We sat in the restaurant around 11 am on the Friday before Labor Day, and only had a 15 minute wait. Don't try to go at peak times, aim for just before or after.
Derrick W — Google review
Parking was difficult but I’m glad we were patient and found a place to park, so we could enjoy the Jordan Pond House Restaurant. The place was packed but our wait to be seated was only 20-minutes. We were able to take an amazing selfie from the upper observation deck. I particularly enjoyed the Jordan Pond House lobster stew and warm popovers.

Nestled on a side street near the Village Green, Side Street Cafe and its sister establishment, The Annex, are popular spots for locals and tourists alike. The warm and modern atmosphere welcomes families and even furry friends outside. Both locations offer a menu filled with comfort food favorites like fish tacos, burgers, lobster dishes, appetizers, and desserts until late into the evening.
Pasta was fantastic! Portions are very generous. Staff was super kind & generous — especially Marina who was so thorough & patient in helping one member of our party with dietary restrictions. The blueberry pie we ate here (not pictured) was the absolute BEST we had during our week in Maine! It is a must!🫐

Extremely expensive. This place was noisy and the food mediocre. I haven’t yet found a decent place to eat in Bar Harbor. Still searching. The lobster, although edible, perhaps weighed 4 ounces. The lobster tail looked to me the size they typically discard when fishing, which leads me to wonder where they actually got the lobster. The steak was under-cooked and contained gristle. The fries were nothing to write home about.

The best cafe and restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine. So grateful that we could have the table for 7 people, 30 minutes before the resto would be closed. The food was so delicious and affordable. I really recommended people to buy the bangin shrimp, the sauce was so delicious. The grilled salmon was so tasty. The waiters and waitresses were so friendly and fast. The restrooms were clean. Additionally, there was a bar after the resto was closed. Really love the live music and the drinks. Would love to visit side street cafe again.

Pet friendly which is super handy. The staff didn't seem super friendly, but they were efficient which was fine. The food was good. My husband had the burger and it needed some more seasoning and we tried the lobster quesadilla (which sounds ridiculous) but it was so tasty. The sauce and guac made it perfect. The haddock fish tacos were also tasty. I didn't care for the clam chowder but I think that is just a personal preference.

The Side Street Cafe is a wonderful change from some of the other restaurants in the downtown area of Bar Harbor. We arrived quite early since we had a light lunch, thinking around 5:45 and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. For an appetizer we ordered the Rodick Street Corn with chips. The dish was fire roaster corn off the cob, zesty butter, lime, Old Bay crema and tajin (chili spice that was a bit mild). The dish was very good. Having the chips to scoop up the corn was better than using a spoon. For dinner my partner and I both ordered the original Mac & Cheese with a parsley garnish. The Mac & Cheese was very creamy and just awesome. Darn good Mac & Cheese. Service is fantastic, great spot for dinner.

Side Street Café is such a wonderful spot! We came here with a vegetarian and several non-seafood-eaters, and everyone had a good meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Despite, being busy, our wait time wasn't too long. It's worth noting, if you come with a large group, you can't be seated until everyone in the group has arrived. Nevertheless, such a good spot in Bar Harbor!
Tierney K — Google review
We ordered lobster mac and cheese, salmon, sweet potato fries and a drink. Food was generally quite tasty and served warm but small portion. Mac & cheese was in right proportion, cheese not too rich or light. Yet, a bit disappointed on lobster which was cold and cut into small pieces (was that the lobster from lobster roll?)...

My husband & I ate here 2 times because they have the best lobster rolls! I’m gluten & dairy free due to allergies & they took such a great care of me! We love it here!

Restaurant
Havana is a vibrant and upscale dining spot in a classy setting, offering a fusion of Latin and American cuisine. The restaurant is managed by Deidre, who aims for higher culinary standards and prices comparable to other upscale establishments. The menu features appetizers like spicy tomato soup with goat cheese crouton, well-seasoned scallops, and mushroom spring rolls with delicate sauce.
Flavor: A Service: A Cocktails: A Solo dining: B We found this highly rated restaurant and made a reservation prior to our trip. And boy are we glad we did. My rum and coke was top notch. As were the spring rolls and pork belly we got as appetizers. The bread and its dipping sauces were all unique and delicious. I got the paella as my entree and it was great (although maybe not as impressive as everything preceding it). I had a bite of the lobster moqueca and it was incredible (but not ideal for those of us dairy adverse). All in all, a one-of-a-kind Cuban-Maine fusion of delectable food. And the waitstaff was attentive to our every need and want. Truly a fine dining experience (but one you can wear shorts to).

We had an amazing dinner at Havana in Bar Harbor! 🌟 Our waiter, Harley, was awesome and so much fun — he made the evening extra special with his energy and great recommendations. The service was top-notch from start to finish. I had the lobster, which was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious, while Kathy enjoyed the halibut, which was fresh and flavorful. Both dishes were spectacular and beautifully presented. If you’re in Bar Harbor and looking for an unforgettable dining experience with incredible food and exceptional service, Havana is a must-visit! 🦞🐟🍷
Bill M — Google review
Our absolute favorite meal on our trip. I will literally be thinking about the tostada for the rest of my life— SO good. The lobster was so fresh and the steak was amazing. The staff was very kind and attentive. Yes, it’s pricey, but to us it was worth every single penny!!
Callie A — Google review
Best meal we’ve had in a very long time. We were sat immediately around 5:30 without a reservation and welcomed promptly by our waiter. The cucumber bite and bread with dips set the tone for the meal and then the ceviche and tostado app turned it up a notch. The seafood paellas were the crown on top of the experience. It was packed with seafood and so delicious. Not sure how we finished everything but every bite was phenomenal. Will absolutely be returning to Havana! Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!
Lauren J — Google review
The service was great here and the food was ok. Food did not meet my expectations. But perhaps I am from a big city where there are lots of good restaurants and we were not impressed with any restaurant we went to in Maine during our 5 day trip. I had the seafood paella. It had lots of seafood which was good but slightly dry and I have had tastier. The food was visually appealing. I am sure there are plenty who would have loved this dish. Mom had the lobster moqueca which she said the sauce was good but there was hardly any lobster. I think the lobster moqueca was the better of the 2 dishes. Overall service was great but the building and the furniture rustic, like most places in Maine.
Trish L — Google review
We had such a wonderful evening at Havana in Bar Harbor waited in by Molly and her staff! From the moment we walked in, the service stood out—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. A highlight was when the busboy kindly wished my mom a happy birthday—it was such a simple gesture, but it made the night feel extra special. For dinner, we ordered the Lobster Moqueca and the Filet Mignon. The Lobster Moqueca was perfection—lobster simmered in a coconut broth with haddock, peppers, and onions, served over jasmine rice with grilled pineapple. The Filet Mignon was equally memorable, tender and flavorful with creative touches that elevated the dish. Even the soup to start was a delicious surprise. Street parking nearby was mostly easy. Highly recommend Havana for anyone looking for excellent service, standout dishes, and a dining experience that feels both elevated and personal.
Jennifer S — Google review
I came here one night after a long day of hiking. They have a very attractive menu that fuses Central/South American dishes with a little bit of local cusine. I'd order anything on that menu, but I went with the seafood paella. The quality of the seafood alone made it a good dish. Otherwise, flavors were pretty good, but could have been bolder for Latin American cuisine. I'd rate the dish 7/10. I would have definitely had an app and/or soup if my apppetite was bigger that night. The bread service was okay. Blueberry cornbread and Italian bread w/ black bean hummus were interesting twists, but the cornbread was a little dry. The restaurant vibe is suitable for a date night or nicer-dressed evening on a trip. The primary reason I'm docking stars was for the service. I sat for 15 minutes before a server came to my table, while all the tables around me (including those who were sat after me) were waited on promptly, had drinks, and even ordered entrees before anybody came to me. I had to go ask the hostess to be waited on, and even after that, I kind of felt like I was treated like a 2nd-class citizen.. little attention or effort. For that reason alone, I'd probably go elsewhere next time, but food and atmosphere get a B grade.

This was our first time having dinner at Havana. It was DELICIOUS! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the restaurant had a card at our table signed by the staff. It truly made us feel special. One of the best restaurants in Bar Harbor!

Geddy's is a family-friendly restaurant known for its pub grub, seafood, and beer. The lively establishment features kitschy signage and nautical decor, creating a cozy atmosphere filled with humor and quirky touches like plastic animals on cocktail sticks. The menu boasts a variety of seafood options, including a pick-your-own lobster tank. With harbor views from select seats upfront, Geddy's also offers a large bar in the middle of the restaurant.
What a great night! All the great reviews and recommendations did not disappoint. Hannah was our waitress and she was amazing. So helpful, cheerful and great recommendations for our time in the area. Our drinks were so good. My husband had Mule Nor’easter and I had Jalapeño margarita. Yum! Then, we had Lobster bake and Scampi Garlicky. My husband add lobster to the shrimp and scallops. We finished with blue berry pie and it so reminded me of my grandmothers when I was a child. Delicious.

We came on a Sunday night around 5 PM and they said all the tables were for reservations only but we could sit at the bar. The bar filled up quick and then there was a line out the door when we left around six so definitely make a reservation.Athena gave us excellent service! The cocktails were great and the lobster stew had plenty of lobster in it with a nice sherry flavor! The lobster mini bake was a perfect way to try the lobster roll, the clam chowder plus have a little blueberry tart. The atmosphere was nice and we would definitely try this place again. If we were in the area, we preferred it over Stewmans

Overall, a decent place to eat. It's a touristy place more than anything. My take: - Food: average to slightly above average. We had the fried calamari and Brussell sprouts which were both decent. Neither were great. We also had the tuna poke which was very good. We also had a blueberry infused beer which was good. - Service: Was excellent. Wait staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. No pressure. No issues. - The place itself: Fun, not too noisy. It appears to be a great place to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and socialize. We had no problems talking or being overwhelmed by noise. I'd recommend it but don't expect to be wowed by the food.

A fun yet homy eatery in Bar Harbor that serves you the local delicacies prepared with the utmost love. A definite must order is the steamed lobster — it is so juicy but still melts from the shell. The buttery sauce complement’s the lobster’s natural sweetness and makes each bite heavenly. The clam chowder is also a recommended order since it is a balanced appatiser that whets the appetite. The star of our meal though, was the blueberry pie. The cream is thick but not cloying and the additional ice cream mellows the tart-sweet richness of the blueberry compote. Paradise.

We loved Geddy’s for the food and the fun vibes! The menu has so many taste tempting offerings it’s hard to decide. I had the fish and chips which were outstanding! The batter was light and very crispy with delicious seasonings. My wife had the grilled haddock with Jasmine rice and grilled vegetables (green beans and carrots) which were flavorfully sautéed and crispy. Our server, Hannah was very gracious and professional and we never felt neglected. There is also a fun merch store downstairs where you can find any kind of items you might want for yourself or as gifts to take home. We would go back if we were in town longer!
William T — Google review
For fun and great food this is where you go in Bar Harbor! Tourist town restaurants can be overpriced and low quality; but not Geddy’s. The staff was friendly, attentive and the signature chowder and lobster dinner with blueberry pie doesn’t disappoint. Even the corn on the cob was fresh, sweet and yummy. Thanks for taking the time to serve a great meal at a fair price.

So amazing! This is a great place. I am gluten/wheat free and dairy free and they had so many options. Our waitress said they try to cater their menu to the top five allergens. The fish and chips is phenomenal. Fries that are actually crispy. Fantastic. Highly recommend and would definitely make a reservation and least during peak times and it was pretty busy.
Jessica B — Google review
This spot in Bar Harbor is beautiful!!! really great decor and just a nice place to be. The service was awesome. David, the host, was super welcoming and friendly, honestly the best we’ve ever had when visiting the West coast. The food was good. I had a burger that was pretty standard, nothing special, but my wife got the lobster plate and it was amazing. It came with clam chowder and a blueberry pie that were both so good. The lobster was big and totally worth it definitely pay the extra $4 to get it already out of the shell. Way less messy and easier to eat. Everything tasted super fresh, like it came straight off the Maine coast. We’d go back for the atmosphere, the great service, that blueberry pie, and the lobster.

The Reading Room Restaurant is an upscale-casual dining venue located at the Bar Harbor Inn, offering a delectable selection of seafood and steaks accompanied by live piano music. Originally established as the Mount Desert Reading Room in 1887, this historic property has been a hub for literary and social culture in Bar Harbor. Over the years, it has hosted notable events such as President William Howard Taft's reception in 1910.
We visited the Reading Room in Bar Harbor with a party of five, and the entire experience was beyond a 10. The views alone are sweeping and magnificent, but what truly stood out was the impeccable service from everyone from the delightful hostess to our server, Haley. Every detail felt thoughtful, the wine, the table settings, including the little palate cleanser between courses, which was a delightful touch. We had the seafood appetizer plate with lobster and crab and oysters and shrimp. We had the filet mignon, and it was one of the most tender, perfectly prepared cuts I’ve ever enjoyed—simply outstanding. My sister couldn’t stop raving about the fresh oysters, and every seafood dish at our table was a hit. I also tried the compressed pear salad, and the balance of flavors was both unique and refreshing. The meal was finished off with espresso martinez! Mmmm. The atmosphere sealed the night for us—the live piano music created an elegant, relaxing backdrop that elevated the whole dining experience. Truly an unforgettable evening filled with incredible food, gracious service, and a setting that couldn’t be more memorable.

We love fine dining and made reservations at the Reading Room in hopes of a really fantastic experience. Reviews seemed good, but overall it didn't live up to the hype. Food was okay at best. The best part was the bread and blueberry butter and the blueberry sorbet. I order the prosciutto wrapped cod - it had a very hard outer shell and basically came out cold. I pick out the cod and ate it despite the temperature and left the prosciutto. The green beans were good and seasoned well. We had a 6:30 reservation and waited probably 20 minutes to be seated. There was a reservation that was over 20 minutes late for their reservation that got seated before we did - they should have had to wait since they were so late. Just my opinion. When finally seated - we were in the back corner of the restaurant next to the window. Glad to be next to the window, but not a great table. My husband basically had a view of the door next to the hostess stand. We also found it difficult to understand our server. He was pleasant enough, but it definitely altered our experience because my husband couldn't understand a word he said and I was understanding about 70%. Overall, not a place that I would book again, though I might try their terrace next time. Disappointing for what I expected to be an exceptional experience.

I had one of the best filet mignons in my life here. My husband and I absolutely loved dinner here, one of our top favorites. The view around sunset was beautiful, we were lucky and it was raining earlier so we saw a rainbow along with the sunset. The crab cake appetizer was delicious, our entrees of the land and sea were absolutely amazing (lobster and filet were cooked to perfection, the filet just melted in your mouth), and the mocha espresso cake dessert was light and perfect way to end the evening. Our waitress (Haley I think) was very kind and helpful. We loved her! There is also a live piano player, very nice touch. Overall experience here was 10/10

Amazing! Made reservations ahead of time and was blown away with the view! Simply stunning with the boats coming in and the gorgeous sunset. Our dinner highlights were the oysters, scallop dinner & blueberry pie dessert - also pianist kept the mood fun & enjoyable! Highly recommend for both adults & kids.

Service was great and the view of the harbor is beautiful. The piano player was also nice. The scallops were perfectly good and absolutely delicious. The crab cake was decent but I'd probably get a different app next time. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended.

A great experience! Overall, food was a solid 4/5 stars, but the service was awesome! I had the short rib and I did not have a single complaint. My boyfriend got the Land & Sea and was slightly disappointed at how little lobster he got. When they said “lobster tail” we imagined a bit more than he got. However it tasted great 🤷🏼‍♀️ blueberry pie was DELICIOUS.

Stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa and ate our last night’s meal at this special spot overlooking the water. Got a res at 5:45pm to soak in the scenery before sunset. Sabrina our waitress was fabulous. Incredible soups and our entrees were top shelf. I had the Lazy Lobster which was out of this world. Highly recommend this place!!

Route 66 Restaurant is a vibrant and colorful all-American spot located in Bar Harbor. The restaurant is adorned with an extensive collection of collectibles, including tin signs and toys, creating a lively atmosphere. The menu offers a fusion of diner fare and comfort food, featuring options like BLT club-style Maine lobster rolls with lemon aioli or traditional rolls with spicy mayo. Additionally, the restaurant boasts delicious burgers and blueberry pie.
We walked past this place after having dinner at another restaurant. But I knew I wanted to come back the next day and I'm so glad we did. We ordered their lazy lobster which was so amazing. It was a good size and obviously super easy since they did all the hard work for us. This restaurant was really fun from the awesome waiter we had to the decor and entire vibe inside. Everything was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend everybody going there at least once for a meal.

Had dinner here while visiting Bar Harbor for the first time and overall it was a good experience! Our server was nice and attentive, and food came out super quick! We got onions rings, which had an interesting thicker texture but were okay. Their fries were awesome and I loved the option to get the lobster roll with their sweet and spicy mayo! Lobster bisque was not super flavorful. Food felt a little pricey for the quality but this was still a neat restaurant to visit with cool nostalgic decor!
Gabrielle M — Google review
Cool atmosphere and good food, though maybe a little expensive. We had the clam chowder, salad, Lobster Roll served hot, and a strawberry milkshake. We went towards the end of the night and our server was nice, but clearly ready to be done with the shift. For example, we did not get waters until over halfway through our meal because we also got mocktails, even though we asked for the waters first thing. Overall, not a bad experience, but I probably wouldn't go back unless someone else really wanted to go. We sat in the balcony and I will say the view was pretty cool!

I usually never leave reviews but this restaurant was awesome. The service was great, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere is awesome. All the vintage decor is so cool. I'm really glad to have went here and I'll definitely go back if I'm ever down that way again.

We had a brand new server and she did an excellent job. The food was delicious, especially the Jackfruit tacos and served quickly. All the retro memorabilia made us feel a little old but it added to the atmosphere. We went on a week night and there was no wait.
Rosie — Google review
Food, classic lobster roll was delicious, the tacos were very average, the appetizer of fried cheese was delicious. Service great, atmosphere amazing. Love how the place is styled.

C-Ray Lobster is a casual, family-owned spot that offers locally sourced lobsters for takeout. You can enjoy your meal at outdoor picnic tables and even order live lobsters to be shipped anywhere. The restaurant also provides a variety of lobster-centered menu items for pickup. Additionally, you can pair your meal with beer or wine, following the updated Maine alcohol take-out policy.
EXCELLENT lobster - SO good that we came back the next day! We ordered 4 boiled soft shell lobsters that we took home to eat for dinner. They were absolutely fabulous. So tender, flavorful and juicy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend
TexCat — Google review
Rating: 5/10 Date Last Visited: 8/17/2025 We ordered the Lobster Dinner for Two, Lobster Roll ($30), Clam Chowder ($10), and Blueberry Pie. The lobster itself was decent, but the lobster was a bit small and there wasn’t much meat. The mussels and corn that came with the lobster was good. The lobster roll was pretty solid, but I thought the bagged potato chips were a bit lazy (would prefer homemade chips or fries). The clam chowder was good too, it was savory and I could really taste the clam flavor. The blueberry pie was decent but too sweet. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and the service is solid. Overall, this place is great if you’re in the area and want a lobster meal, but it’s a bit pricey for the taste and quantity.
Andy L — Google review
I read about this place in a blog, and they said that this was a really great place to visit. It definitely didn’t disappoint, and everyone was very friendly from the cook to the cashier. We ordered mussels and a whole lobster combo. They do not have very many gluten-free options, but they did mention that they will be doing that soon. The potato salad was a good gluten-free option and we ate that with the mussels. The food was very delicious and we highly recommend this place.
Jeff — Google review
Casual hangout space with ample seating, some yard games and a fire pit, friendly staff, clean spaces, and most importantly amazing food. Lobster roll was heavy on the lobster, light on the sauce, delicious toasted bun, and the crab roll was equally fantastic. Great experience!
Andrew G — Google review
Lobster roll didn’t have a ton of meat. Meat was overcooked and mostly tiny scraps with little claw meat. Deceptive to say it comes with melted butter but is in fact oil of some sort with no butter flavor. Came cold and wasn’t hardened so I knew it wasn’t real butter. Didn’t taste anything like butter either. Weird way to cheap out. I was hesitant to post a bad review of C-Ray since it is a well-known place, but tried Red’s and McLoon’s today and they are SOOO much better! Reds gave triple the lobster meat of C-Ray and had real, hot butter. Don’t waste your money at C-Ray
John B — Google review
Probably the BEST cold lobster roll I had on Mt. Desert Island with their chive mayo. Bonus is that they give you a wedge of lemon on the side unlike some other places I've visited. Very clean facilities with options for both outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely check this place out if you're in town!
Jacky C — Google review
Out door venue serving Lobster and other seafood. I had clam chowder and a grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was very good, the chowder was ok, but being in Maine I kind of expected great chowder. I also got blueberry pie for dessert and it was delicious.
Starlight L — Google review
Very expensive for a place in a gravel parking lot where food is delivered to your picnic table in a styrofoam clamshell. Employees were pleasant. The naked lobster roll tasted good. At these prices I won’t be returning.

Nestled in a beautifully restored Victorian house on Main Street, McKay's Public House offers a delightful blend of high-end surf 'n' turf and pub fare with global influences. This charming eatery not only serves up an array of fresh dishes like Jamaican bean & vegetable soup and truffled seafood risotto but also invites diners to bask in its historic ambiance, complete with original fireplaces and oak wainscoting.
A lovely spot if you’re looking for something a little more upscale in Bar Harbor. We really enjoyed our meals: braised short ribs and the meatloaf. The blueberry pie was also very delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive.
Harley C — Google review
What a great place to dine. The outside patio is beautiful. The inside is so nice. The staff is very friendly. And the food... amazing! We were recommended to try the seafood risotto which did not disappoint. So creamy with huge scallops, chunks of lobster, and shrimp. We also had the lobster Mac and cheese. Again the chunks of lobster were huge. The bread was tasty with the garlic butter. After all that there unfortunately was no room for dessert. Although, I did hear some guests at another table fighting over their desserts. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious dinner in Bar Harbor.
Deb T — Google review
Had the Shepard's Pie which was excellent. It was authentic being made with lamb (most restaurants in the US turn this dish into an abomination by substituting ground beef for the lamb). For desert, had the Southern Sundae with caramel, Gelato, and caramelized bacon bits. The bacon bits were surprisingly good and went well with the gelato. Service was professional and superb. The restaurant is appropriately upscale and clean.
Ralph R — Google review
Nice location both indoor and outdoor, and our server was attentive and friendly. Not a long wait for our food, which was great. I ordered the short rib; portion of meat was gigantic, nice and tender. I think it could have used more sauce, as what was given wasn't nearly enough for the amount of meat. Also, while the menu said it came with broccolini it ended up being green beans instead, which would have been nice to know about beforehand (was looking forward to the broccolini!). We also got the lemon herb chicken, and that portion was pretty small for the price to us. Overall, the food was good, the service was great, and we'd come back!
Molly J — Google review
Our McKay's visit last week was awesome!!!! Through a reservation, they set us up in a separate room for our daughter's wedding celebration of 22. They were also very accommodating for our large party in their small bar. The service and staff were fantastic. The food was exceptional with plenty of regular menu and special items for us to choose from. We enjoyed the Lobster Mac & Cheese, Fish and Chips, Spring Salmon, Steak Frites, Beef Short Ribs, Truffled Seafood Risotto, Fall featured Risotto, and the featured Halibut with Lobster Risotto. Everyone raved about their dishes. We couldn't have asked for a better and enjoyable experience in this rustic setting. McKays is an absolute must visit.
Christopher A — Google review
Exemplary meal, less the seafood risotto. Truly, the dining experience was unforgettable. The pork belly, the oysters, the steak tartare, and the meatloaf were all spectacular. The seafood risotto, however, left much to be desired. It lacked seasoning and should have more umami flavor and less of plain cream flavor. However, this was our third visit to McKay’s, and despite the risotto not hitting the spot, we will dine here every time we are in Bar Harbor!
Colt J — Google review
Not to be dramatic but the food here is to die for! One of the best places we have ever eaten in. My husband had buffalo wings (he has that appetizer in pretty much every restaurant we go to) and he was OBSESSED. He also had the short ribs and I had the seafood risotto. Amazing food, also really good selection of beers and wines. The service was SO quick. We loved it here. Highly recommended
Sofi W — Google review
I really wanted to like this place, it’s got a beautiful outdoor seating space, cozy indoor dining space, our server was incredible and attentive, but the food just left a lot to be desired. The chimichurri on the Steak Frites was too vinegary, the fries were over salted, the risotto was over salted and the short ribs which were supposed to “die for” wasn’t tender. Frankly this place has all the makings of a great restaurant but they need to focus on the food a bit more.

Nestled in Southwest Harbor, Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound is a charming roadside eatery that captures the essence of a classic American diner with its vibrant red and white decor. This unique seafood haven gained attention for its innovative approach to cooking lobsters—owner Charlotte Gill has been experimenting with using CBD and valerian to calm the crustaceans before they hit the pot, resulting in what she claims is sweeter and lighter meat.
We have been coming here for years and always look forward to it. We love the fried clams and the lobster roll is also excellent. The people are the nicest you could every hope for. They recently moved down the road to the parking lot behind the Seawall Motel, so don't miss them!

This place is absolutely amazing!! The service is perfect, staff was super friendly, and the food was heavenly!! If I could give the food a 10 star that still wouldn't be good enough!!! The menu is the best lobster pound menu I have seen!! I have been coming to Maine for 9 years and would never have thought I'd see a menu with such variety as I did here!!! The owner even greeted us, in parking lot, about our vehicle!! Charlotte was such a ray of sunshine!! I highly recommend this place!! You will leave with a full, satisfied tummy!!
Susan W — Google review
I’ve had been a customer at the original location for years but yesterday was our first visit to the new location at Seawall. The new spot is great with plenty of space and a nice view. The food was even better than I remembered. My wife splurged and got the foot long crab roll for me, it was excellent and the amount of crab in the sandwich was beyond expectation so definitely worth it. For most people it would be a two person sandwich but I took care of it on my own.

Beautiful set-up for an outdoor dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The service was friendly and fast. Lobster Bisque and grilled cheese were a perfect combination. The haddock and jalapeño poppers were delicious. Live music was fixing to start but we had a few more sights to see before evening. Would definitely come again!
Michelle R — Google review
The lobster roll was so good I came back within an hour for a second one. The lobster was so tender and juicy with butter flavor. The staff was very friendly. I came during the day so I didn't wait much for my food. Also, I love the setting of the place with the view of the sea.

Looking for a quick lunch in between visiting Bass Harbor Head Light and heading into Bar Harbor and this cute little stand caught our attention! I was on a mission to try fresh scallops in Maine and I was not disappointed! The bacon-wrapped, seared scallops with pure maple syrup were amazing!!! Our greeter suggested the blueberry pie and it was the best I have ever had! I cannot compliment Charlotte and her staff enough! This was a great lunch and exceeded all expectations!
Michele T — Google review
Charlotte and her family are great. Wonderful setting right next to where the water crosses the road. Perfect lobster--sweet, tender, cooked just right. And loved the blueberry pie!
Texasseean — Google review
After hiking, we stopped here for dinner. We ordered at the food truck window, and they brought your food out to you at the outdoor picnic tables when it's ready. While waiting, we sat by the fire they had going which was nice. They also had a heater at the table which felt great. We enjoyed the food...a warm lobster roll, clam chowder, and lobster bisque. So glad we came here before they close for the season in a few days.

The Stadium in Bar Harbor is a casual eatery that offers a variety of delicious dishes, including lobster mac & cheese, handmade rolls, and breakfast sandwiches. The restaurant also serves an array of coffee drinks and has merged with The Coffee Hound to offer an expanded menu and souvenirs. Known for its award-winning lobster rolls, such as the Stadium Roll with brown butter or the Lobster BLAT Roll, The Stadium celebrates Maine's native ingredients by providing a unique made-from-scratch experience.
I wish we had time to try everything on this menu! Alas, we went back each of our two days in Bar Harbor and I stuck with the sure thing: The Popover! It was so dang good - warm, slightly gooey, so delicious! My kids loved the still-warm (giant) chocolate chip cookies. We tried the blueberry donuts and different coffee drinks. Warning: There was a line every time we went but it actually does move fast. They have a great system set up. Also be warned that there’s no seating. On the first day we are on a bench out front and the second we grabbed our food to go. Highly recommend!
Lisa K — Google review
The Stadium in Bar Harbor was recommended to us for a lobster roll, and it was good! I’ll be honest, I don’t have much to compare it to, but the bun and sauce on this roll were absolutely delicious. If you’re a fan of cold lobster, I’d imagine this one would score really high. Personally, I would have preferred it warm, but I know that’s not the quintessential lobster roll experience.
Jake G — Google review
The Stadium hits you with that magical aroma the moment you walk in — the kind that makes you seriously consider ordering one of everything. There are so many tempting options here: pastries, sandwiches, crepes, bubble teas, fancy coffees… it’s basically a caffeine-and-carb paradise. We stuck to our usual lattes (we’re coffee purists — cream, maybe whole milk, no foam hearts necessary) and then did the responsible thing: shared a blueberry pie. Because when in New England, it’s basically a moral obligation to consume something blueberry, lobster, or maple every day. The pie was perfection — sweet, tart, buttery, and golden enough to make Paul Hollywood proud. The service was friendly and impressively efficient — this place runs like a well-oiled espresso machine. The only downside? Nowhere to sit. But honestly, grabbing your goodies and walking to the nearby park to soak in the coastal view makes it even better. Bottom line: come for the smell, stay for the pie, and bring your appetite (and maybe a park bench).
Adriana F — Google review
I had a fantastic experience at The Stadium in Bar Harbor. The popover was excellent, crispy, fresh, and especially delicious with the butter and maple syrup spread. Paired with a good cappuccino, nice chai, and a chocolate walnut cookie, there was real variety and everything was nicely done. The ambiance here is cozy and welcoming, whether you dine inside or take advantage of the outdoor seating with river views. Customer service was truly 10/10: the staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive, making me feel right at home. Everything I tried was tasty, and the vibe of the restaurant made it easy to relax and enjoy a slow meal. I’d definitely recommend The Stadium for anyone visiting Bar Harbor who wants delicious food and great hospitality.
Vijay T — Google review
Service was great and super quick. We stopped in here for the popovers since Jordan Pond was over an hour wait. Turns out that prices were a lot fairer here anyway! We got two popovers with blueberry jam for $9.95 and added the maple butter. Excellent! Super warm - very comparable to a french toast flavor. Highly highly recommend.
Erin A — Google review
Stopped in for a popover and a blueberry pie. The popover was definitely lackluster, a chewy, bland fry bread. They need to come fresh out of the oven to be good and I think ours had been sitting a while. The pie, however, was the best blueberry pie we ever had. Absolutely that wild Maine blueberry flavor, and a perfect buttery crispy crust (top only, like shepherds pie). I like that they make these mini pies, perfect for two to share at the nearby park.
A N — Google review
The popovers were delicious! We all loved it. The chocolate chip cookie was amazing too. My son just wanted it after he saw it. Highly recommend trying their popovers and they seemed to be sold out by the afternoon. So plan accordingly.
G F — Google review
I stopped by this bakery for a breakfast sandwich and was really impressed — it was delicious, hearty, and filling, exactly what you want to start the day. The bread was fresh and clearly baked in-house, which made a huge difference in flavor and quality. One thing to note is that the bakery doesn’t have seating or public restrooms, so it’s best for grab-and-go rather than dining in. That being said, the food itself is well worth the stop if you’re looking for something tasty and satisfying on the move.

I know it might sound counter intuitive but the best coffee in bar harbor is just outside of bar harbor. I drove here every day to get my flat white (not listed on the menu but the barista will make it!) the egg and cheese BLT was *chefs kiss* . I tried a few other coffee places right in town that had high ratings but they just didn’t compare. Go here you won’t regret it !!!
