Havana is a vibrant and upscale dining spot in a classy setting, offering a fusion of Latin and American cuisine. The restaurant is managed by Deidre, who aims for higher culinary standards and prices comparable to other upscale establishments. The menu features appetizers like spicy tomato soup with goat cheese crouton, well-seasoned scallops, and mushroom spring rolls with delicate sauce.
Flavor: A Service: A Cocktails: A Solo dining: B We found this highly rated restaurant and made a reservation prior to our trip. And boy are we glad we did. My rum and coke was top notch. As were the spring rolls and pork belly we got as appetizers. The bread and its dipping sauces were all unique and delicious. I got the paella as my entree and it was great (although maybe not as impressive as everything preceding it). I had a bite of the lobster moqueca and it was incredible (but not ideal for those of us dairy adverse). All in all, a one-of-a-kind Cuban-Maine fusion of delectable food. And the waitstaff was attentive to our every need and want. Truly a fine dining experience (but one you can wear shorts to).

We had an amazing dinner at Havana in Bar Harbor! 🌟 Our waiter, Harley, was awesome and so much fun — he made the evening extra special with his energy and great recommendations. The service was top-notch from start to finish. I had the lobster, which was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious, while Kathy enjoyed the halibut, which was fresh and flavorful. Both dishes were spectacular and beautifully presented. If you’re in Bar Harbor and looking for an unforgettable dining experience with incredible food and exceptional service, Havana is a must-visit! 🦞🐟🍷

Our absolute favorite meal on our trip. I will literally be thinking about the tostada for the rest of my life— SO good. The lobster was so fresh and the steak was amazing. The staff was very kind and attentive. Yes, it’s pricey, but to us it was worth every single penny!!
Callie A — Google review
Best meal we’ve had in a very long time. We were sat immediately around 5:30 without a reservation and welcomed promptly by our waiter. The cucumber bite and bread with dips set the tone for the meal and then the ceviche and tostado app turned it up a notch. The seafood paellas were the crown on top of the experience. It was packed with seafood and so delicious. Not sure how we finished everything but every bite was phenomenal. Will absolutely be returning to Havana! Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!
Lauren J — Google review
The service was great here and the food was ok. Food did not meet my expectations. But perhaps I am from a big city where there are lots of good restaurants and we were not impressed with any restaurant we went to in Maine during our 5 day trip. I had the seafood paella. It had lots of seafood which was good but slightly dry and I have had tastier. The food was visually appealing. I am sure there are plenty who would have loved this dish. Mom had the lobster moqueca which she said the sauce was good but there was hardly any lobster. I think the lobster moqueca was the better of the 2 dishes. Overall service was great but the building and the furniture rustic, like most places in Maine.
Trish L — Google review
We had such a wonderful evening at Havana in Bar Harbor waited in by Molly and her staff! From the moment we walked in, the service stood out—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. A highlight was when the busboy kindly wished my mom a happy birthday—it was such a simple gesture, but it made the night feel extra special. For dinner, we ordered the Lobster Moqueca and the Filet Mignon. The Lobster Moqueca was perfection—lobster simmered in a coconut broth with haddock, peppers, and onions, served over jasmine rice with grilled pineapple. The Filet Mignon was equally memorable, tender and flavorful with creative touches that elevated the dish. Even the soup to start was a delicious surprise. Street parking nearby was mostly easy. Highly recommend Havana for anyone looking for excellent service, standout dishes, and a dining experience that feels both elevated and personal.

I came here one night after a long day of hiking. They have a very attractive menu that fuses Central/South American dishes with a little bit of local cusine. I'd order anything on that menu, but I went with the seafood paella. The quality of the seafood alone made it a good dish. Otherwise, flavors were pretty good, but could have been bolder for Latin American cuisine. I'd rate the dish 7/10. I would have definitely had an app and/or soup if my apppetite was bigger that night. The bread service was okay. Blueberry cornbread and Italian bread w/ black bean hummus were interesting twists, but the cornbread was a little dry. The restaurant vibe is suitable for a date night or nicer-dressed evening on a trip. The primary reason I'm docking stars was for the service. I sat for 15 minutes before a server came to my table, while all the tables around me (including those who were sat after me) were waited on promptly, had drinks, and even ordered entrees before anybody came to me. I had to go ask the hostess to be waited on, and even after that, I kind of felt like I was treated like a 2nd-class citizen.. little attention or effort. For that reason alone, I'd probably go elsewhere next time, but food and atmosphere get a B grade.

This was our first time having dinner at Havana. It was DELICIOUS! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the restaurant had a card at our table signed by the staff. It truly made us feel special. One of the best restaurants in Bar Harbor!

Nestled on a side street near the Village Green, Side Street Cafe and its sister establishment, The Annex, are popular spots for locals and tourists alike. The warm and modern atmosphere welcomes families and even furry friends outside. Both locations offer a menu filled with comfort food favorites like fish tacos, burgers, lobster dishes, appetizers, and desserts until late into the evening.
Pasta was fantastic! Portions are very generous. Staff was super kind & generous — especially Marina who was so thorough & patient in helping one member of our party with dietary restrictions. The blueberry pie we ate here (not pictured) was the absolute BEST we had during our week in Maine! It is a must!🫐

Extremely expensive. This place was noisy and the food mediocre. I haven’t yet found a decent place to eat in Bar Harbor. Still searching. The lobster, although edible, perhaps weighed 4 ounces. The lobster tail looked to me the size they typically discard when fishing, which leads me to wonder where they actually got the lobster. The steak was under-cooked and contained gristle. The fries were nothing to write home about.

The best cafe and restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine. So grateful that we could have the table for 7 people, 30 minutes before the resto would be closed. The food was so delicious and affordable. I really recommended people to buy the bangin shrimp, the sauce was so delicious. The grilled salmon was so tasty. The waiters and waitresses were so friendly and fast. The restrooms were clean. Additionally, there was a bar after the resto was closed. Really love the live music and the drinks. Would love to visit side street cafe again.

Pet friendly which is super handy. The staff didn't seem super friendly, but they were efficient which was fine. The food was good. My husband had the burger and it needed some more seasoning and we tried the lobster quesadilla (which sounds ridiculous) but it was so tasty. The sauce and guac made it perfect. The haddock fish tacos were also tasty. I didn't care for the clam chowder but I think that is just a personal preference.

The Side Street Cafe is a wonderful change from some of the other restaurants in the downtown area of Bar Harbor. We arrived quite early since we had a light lunch, thinking around 5:45 and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. For an appetizer we ordered the Rodick Street Corn with chips. The dish was fire roaster corn off the cob, zesty butter, lime, Old Bay crema and tajin (chili spice that was a bit mild). The dish was very good. Having the chips to scoop up the corn was better than using a spoon. For dinner my partner and I both ordered the original Mac & Cheese with a parsley garnish. The Mac & Cheese was very creamy and just awesome. Darn good Mac & Cheese. Service is fantastic, great spot for dinner.

Side Street Café is such a wonderful spot! We came here with a vegetarian and several non-seafood-eaters, and everyone had a good meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Despite, being busy, our wait time wasn't too long. It's worth noting, if you come with a large group, you can't be seated until everyone in the group has arrived. Nevertheless, such a good spot in Bar Harbor!
Tierney K — Google review
We ordered lobster mac and cheese, salmon, sweet potato fries and a drink. Food was generally quite tasty and served warm but small portion. Mac & cheese was in right proportion, cheese not too rich or light. Yet, a bit disappointed on lobster which was cold and cut into small pieces (was that the lobster from lobster roll?)...
L T — Google review
My husband & I ate here 2 times because they have the best lobster rolls! I’m gluten & dairy free due to allergies & they took such a great care of me! We love it here!

The Thirsty Whale Tavern in Bar Harbor is a popular local pub known for its casual seafood dishes, including fish sandwiches and chowder. It's one of the few spots open past 10pm, making it a go-to for nightlife in the area. The tavern offers a divey atmosphere with wooden paneling and friendly servers. With 14 taps featuring Maine beers, it's an ideal place to unwind after exploring Acadia National Park.
By now, I've had numerous lobster rolls across Massachusetts and Maine and this place easily had amongst the top two lobster rolls that I've ever had, being at a tie with another place in MA. I got the 6oz lobster roll and while I was hesitant to have a Maine style roll rather than Connecticut style, I was pleasantly surprised by just how good the lobster roll was. The lobster itself was tasty and had this nice subtle "sweet" taste to it, a taste that made me contemplate ordering a whole second lobster roll just to enjoy some more of it (I didn't but maybe I should have). It came with fries which I thought were pretty good. We had tried the crab roll and it wasn't bad but not really for me, and I'd choose the lobster over the crab any time. I also tried the clam chowder with garlic bread and it was amazing if I'm being honest. This place is not cheap and I thought it would be a typical tourist trap in Bar Harbor but the food is surprisingly good. The service was about as good as it gets as the woman who served us was busy trying to accommodate all of her tables, but she really did try her best. The parking situation though is horrendous. Street parking in front is hard to acquire and there's a large paid parking lot behind the restaurant as well as a small paid lot across the street. Both of these paid lots were filled to the brim with cars and it took a good while before I had finally gotten a spot. If you're gonna drive here as most people do, be prepared to wait for a spot behind the restaurant or park along the street farther away and walk.

We went at around 1 pm and there was no wait time to be seated, the person at front created a table for my family of 4. (Thank you!) The server was super nice, always checking in and making sure everything was good. I saw that she was running back and forth from the kitchen and basically served all the tables inside which was impressive. The wait for the food was long, the table next to us was waiting for maybe 30+ minutes for two dishes, but it was peak lunch time so take that into consideration. I had the lobster roll and was great, super fresh, the sauce was good. The bread with the lobster roll was also amazing, i loved how soft yet crunchy it was. We also got the lobster bisque which was super creamy and yummy. The crab roll was exceptional! We also had the famous fish sandwich and the fish was super soft. You can tell everything is fresh from the kitchen! Everything came to around $88 before tip for my family. I definitely would recommend this place!

Amazing place! This place was the gem of our food trip to Bar Harbor. It's kind of a "Divy" bar/restaurant that has exceptional food and a great local vibe. We absolutely loved it - ate here 3 times in the 5 days we were in town. - Food: This was probably the best fried seafood platter I have ever had. I'm a long time (40+ years) fried seafood fan - early Legal Seafood and No Name in Boston as references and this was truly amazing - fresh, perfectly cooked. REALLY good. Lobster bisque was very good. Lobster salad - Excellent! Burger was perfect. Blueberry infused beer was exceptional. - Service: Excellent. Staff are very attentive, friendly, no pressure, very helpful! - Atmosphere: As noted, a fun local place. Highly recommended if you're in Bar Harbor. Loved this place.

This was one of the restaurants that was recommended to us. We stopped in after a day of hiking and exploring the park. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. This place was jamming on a Saturday night. The food and drinks were very good. I and the lobster roll and lobster bisque. Both of them were very good. The waiter was attentive and kept us topped up with water and checking in. This place has a great atmosphere and has been here for years. I would recommend it. How can you go wrong with a great name like this? Enjoy!

We stopped in here after hiking Cadillac Mtn and we not disappointed! We started with freshly shucked oysters and then split the famous fish sandwich with fries and 6oz loster roll with coleslaw. The food arrived quickly and was very fresh! The lobster roll was delicious, but the fish sandwich was the true star here. Amazing piece of fish, lightly breaded and served on fresh bread. One of the best I ever ever eaten! Highly recommend this place. Service was fast and friendly too. (Sorry, no pics of the fish sandwich because we ate it too quickly!)
Kathryn R — Google review
The vibes are pretty good and it’s decently priced however I will say the crab and lobster roll are alright and the lobster bisque is just pure cream no lobster chunks. The clam chowder is your standard New England fare nothing super special but it’s a good delight at a good price, especially the special having with both the roll and the clam chowder which I highly recommend although our service was great from our waitress. The front lady seemed to not be courteous and we had to ask about being say while waiting infront of her the entire time lol
Arthur T — Google review
We came here specifically for fried clams and they did not disappoint! So fresh, perfectly battered and fried. We also had some amazing fried pickle spears (a special) and some clam chowder, which was pretty good as well. Amanda, our server, was amazing. So quick but making sure every guest had what they needed. I would definitely come here again! The atmosphere was lively but not obnoxiously loud.
Kristin M — Google review
Cool place to check out while in town, the lobster roll im pretty sure is the best I've had in town so far. The blood orange Margherita was good, had a bit of a kick to it but good. The whale water cocktail was very tasty! Would highly recommend checking it out while in town

Galyn's is a charming restaurant housed in an 1890s Victorian-era boarding house, exuding a classic New England atmosphere. The multi-room establishment offers a diverse menu featuring traditional Downeast seafood, steak, and sandwiches. The interior boasts original trim and tin ceilings, with the Galley Lounge showcasing diamond windows from a Rockefeller estate.
Came here for the late lunch. They put us in the separate room which was amazing. We really appreciated that. Service was super friendly and attentive, we were really happy with them. The menu is very large and has many different options, including a large kids menu. We ordered a lot of things: burger, beet salad, mussels, crab cakes, crab stuffed mushrooms, and shrimp dish for the child. Child plate came with lots of shrimp, amazing wild rice and broccolini. Was the best children's plate we have ever seen. Our toddler loved it very much, even though he is a picky eater. He also love the mussels. All the food was amazing. We also had some blueberry lemonade that was super tasty. Ambience is traditional, but in a good way. It is more upscale than most other places in the area, but not more expensive. I would say it was the best place in Bar Harbor and we tried a lot of them.
Olesya P — Google review
We had tickets for a whale-watching tour, so we decided to spend the day wandering around Bar Harbor — strolling the Shore Path, climbing on rocks, and pretending we were in a travel brochure. By lunchtime, we were ready for something delicious, and thank goodness we’d made reservations at Galyn’s. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch — friendly, professional, and genuinely warm. We snagged a spot on their small porch, which came with a great view and prime people-watching. My husband, on his personal mission to try every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one a strong contender. We shared crab cakes and the fish of the day — grilled haddock with pesto aioli, served with grains, broccolini, and fresh herbs. The haddock was slightly overcooked but still packed with flavor. My Stephen’s Wild Blue Lemonade (blueberry vodka, obviously) was the perfect sidekick. Just as we were finishing up, we got the dreaded email: whale-watching canceled due to sea levels and wind. Tragic. But, being the resilient travelers we are, we coped the only way possible — with dessert and another round. The Cappuccino Sundae was heavenly, and my second cocktail, a Woodford's Mistress (Woodford Reserve bourbon, white port, spiced cherry bitters, sparkling float, Luxardo cherry), was pure artistry in a glass. I could’ve happily stayed all afternoon sampling more “research cocktails,” but my responsible side dragged me off to hike instead. Bottom line: Galyn’s is a must in Bar Harbor — excellent food, killer drinks, and service that makes you feel like a local. Even if your whale tour gets canceled, you’ll still leave smiling.

They squeezed us in last minute with no reservation which we were grateful for. Service was great and food was delicious. The mussels and haddock sandwich were my favourite. Lobster was really fresh as well. They also have an interesting selection of Maine-inspired cocktails, mostly blueberry flavours.

Galyn's provided a truly wonderful dining experience right on the waterfront! We started with two appetizers: the Lobster Bisque and the Baked Brie. The Bisque was really good—rich, flavorful, and a perfect start to the meal. However, I would recommend skipping the Brie; for $17, the flavor wasn't particularly special, and the crackers served with it left a strange aftertaste. The main courses, though, were spectacular and absolutely earned the five stars! I highly recommend both the Stuffed Pork Chop and the Lobster Fettuccine. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and tasted incredible—I actually forgot to take a picture until they were half-eaten because we dove right in! Finally, our server truly elevated the evening. She was amazing: kind, helpful, and attentive. She was extremely friendly and engaging, striking that perfect balance of warmth without ever feeling awkward. Overall, Galyn's is a must-visit for a fantastic Bar Harbor dinner with exceptional entrees and service.

The food was delicious and the view was amazing! The waitress was very attentive. We got lunch and dessert. The coffee was super smooth and went perfectly with the blueberry-apple crisp. A little bit pricey, but very good.

This was our final "Maine Seafood" stop at the end of a 5-day tour along the coast. From Kennebunkport to Bar Harbor we've visited an amazing variety of Maine restaurants and eaten pretty much everything the state is known for. So, within that context, Galyn's is very...ordinary. Bland, predictable, just okay. The interior is nice, a converted older home. The service was rushed - our guy came by every 20 minutes when we needed him every 10-15, and he was always out of breath, talking really fast and rushing away. The food itself is just fine. That's not really a compliment, but there's nothing wrong with it. Again, within the context of two restaurants a day for 5 days, this was maybe #7 or #8. Expensive, sure, but it's right on the main strip in the tourist heart of Bar Harbor, perhaps the most touristy of all the Maine coastal towns. There was not a thing wrong with our meal but not one dish stood out or was in any way creative or special. Overall it's just fine - a little tired, a little too expensive.
Geoff — Google review
They make old fashions correctly Soup and stuffed mushrooms were good. Excellent cheesecake, it’s a very large slice good for at least 2 people, possibly enough for 4 Fine dining and a quieter atmosphere Food is pricey but well prepared and presented, service is excellent. The wait is long without a reservation, and it is not cheap. But if you like fine dining and have the coin, you won’t be disappointed.
Matthew L — Google review
My wife and I had an amazing late lunch at Galyn’s! Our waitress was super friendly and incredibly helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. We ordered the Lobster Alfredo and the Crab Cake appetizer both were absolutely fantastic. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the sauce was rich and flavorful without being too heavy. We also tried the Spicy Margarita and the Blueberry Margarita, both of which were fresh, balanced, and delicious. Even the bathrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well this place is run. If you’re in Bar Harbor and want a cozy, welcoming spot with great seafood and excellent service, highly recommend Galyn’s!

Cafe This Way is a charming and quirky cafe located in downtown Bar Harbor, offering a globally influenced menu for breakfast and dinner. The interior of the cafe exudes an artistic and hip ambiance, with bookshelves, art displays, and retro-themed furniture creating a cozy atmosphere.
We arrived at 11:30am and did not have to wait for seating on a Tuesday in July. They have indoor and outdoor seating and we chose first available. Service was fast and the staff was very attentive and friendly. My daughter had the CWT fried bacon and bagel sandwich, we tried the peach pancakes, my husband had a scramble with sourdough toast, and I had a scramble with gluten-free toast. We also ordered a vanilla latte, a milk, and an orange juice. The scrambles are good, but they add up once you add all of the meat and vegetables and become a little bit pricey. The drinks are a bit expensive as well and we ended up spending $81 plus tip on breakfast! The sourdough toast is good and I thought the gluten-free toast was excellent. It was light and fluffy and not chewy. Gluten-free bread can be hit or miss and this was really good gluten-free bread and would probably make great French toast, but I did not try the French toast. The orange juice was good and the milk was good and cold. My daughter enjoyed her bacon, egg and cheese bagel and my scramble was excellent and a very large portion. The big hit of the day was the peach pancakes. We ordered those to share and that plate is empty. The pancake texture and flavor were excellent. They have real whipped butter available, and the syrup was really good. We had an excellent experience and the food was delicious so here so will come back again during our short visit to Bar Harbor.

My husband and I shared: - Lobster Benedict - Maine Blueberry Pancake - Home Fries - Atlantic Brewing Blueberry Soda The food was absolutely delicious. I expected to like the Benedict more and it was so good, but the blueberry pancake blew me away. I don't love pancakes, but this one was thin, crispy, and had so much flavor. It was the best pancake I've ever had. The portion sizes are on the smaller side and prices are fairly high, but that's typical of lobster in Maine. We arrived a bit before 11 and didn't have to wait too long for a table.

We had breakfast here three days in a row during our stay in Acadia, and every single meal was fantastic. The staff deserves a special shout-out, Tyler and Brenna were incredible hosts who took such great care of us, making us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. My husband loved their vegan tofu scramble so much that he ordered it all three days, flavorful, hearty, and perfectly cooked with fresh veggies and crispy home fries on the side. I decided to try something different each day: the ricotta toast on Day 1, the avocado toast on Day 2, and a bagel with herbed cream cheese on Day 3. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was fresh and strong, just the way I like it, and the quirky, colorful interiors added so much character to the place. From the food to the friendly service and the fun atmosphere, Café This Way truly captures the cozy, creative vibe of Bar Harbor. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Acadia, you’ll leave happy, full, and already planning your next breakfast here! ☕🍳🥑

We stopped at this cafe for brunch since it was highly recommended in Bar Harbor restaurants They did not disappoint. We went on Rainy day so outdoor patio was closed and we had to wait a bit but it was quick service. I ordered peach pancakes and it made my day. It was so delicious. It is so soft and fluffy and melting in mouth. My hubby ordered egg Benedict with lobster and he loved it as well Highly recommended to try this place when you are in the area

TLDR upfront: Cafe This Way was our favorite food place in Bar Harbor over the course of a 4-day Acadia trip. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional, absolutely a must-visit stop for any future visits! We ordered: - Build-your-own omelet with some veggies and goat cheese -> I'm not usually a fan of omelets but the goat cheese was really good, would get this again - White bean shakshuka -> Incredibly flavorful, poached eggs were cooked to perfection, probably my favorite dish we had in Bar Harbor - Blueberry pancake -> The pancake is relatively thin, absolutely stuffed with blueberries, and a little crispy around the edges. I've never had a pancake like this one before but regular ones just won't hit the spot anymore. They served it with house strawberry jam that was delicious and paired perfectly with the pancake as the pancake was not too sweet. 100% would recommend this as the best blueberry pancake in Bar Harbor if you like the crispier texture! - Hot chocolate -> Excellent hot chocolate, whipped cream was great, no notes The staff were all really friendly and attentive, we didn't have to wait long for food even though they were fairly busy, vibes were absolutely immaculate. Prices are about average for Bar Harbor. Only regret is that we didn't get to go back in favor of trying out other breakfast spots around Bar Harbor. While there are some good ones, none of the other places we ate at wowed me like Cafe This Way. Highly recommend!

Charismatic and lively! We loved the atmosphere and the servers were very friendly. I very much appreciated the generous & no charge flask of real maple syrup they give you (instead of those tiny samplers that cost more you usually get at many places). The pancakes were huge, nicely crispy a bit on the edges (though a bit greasy) and fluffy inside. Homefries were no frills, very basic, but fine. Wish the tshirts were a little less expensive. We loved the decor so much, and the food was great- would definitely come back!

Went on weekday for lunch and there was queue. I heard so many good reviews so I didn’t mind waiting. Service is excellent. We were seated shortly and my husband tried the best lobster Benedict and he loved it. One of the best breakfast place in town.
Nisha D — Google review
One of my favorite vacation breakfast spots ever! We loved it so much we went twice during our trip. The first time we sat outside before a full day of hiking, and it was the perfect start to the day. The custom egg scramble with sourdough toast was outstanding, and the croissant egg sandwich was also delicious (though a little tricky to eat with how crumbly the croissant was). If we make it back to Bar Harbor, this will always be a must-stop for breakfast!

Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast is a cozy and welcoming eatery located in Bar Harbor, Maine. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, offering generous portions of classic American breakfast dishes. The restaurant opens at 6 am, making it the perfect place to fuel up after catching the sunrise at Acadia National Park's Cadillac Mountain.
This place really lives up to the name - Jeannie’s Great Maine Breakfast is exactly that. We ended up eating here two days in a row because it was so good. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The Garden Omelet (photo included) was packed with veggies and perfectly cooked, and the blueberry pancake was light and fluffy. Even something as simple as a single scrambled egg and coffee was done just right. The rhubarb sauce on my toast (see photo) is a nice in-house touch, and each table has this option. It’s a welcoming, relaxed spot that clearly takes pride in what they do. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in Bar Harbor and want a solid breakfast to start your day.

The place had a nice, lively atmosphere, especially with the city already buzzing outside. Try to get there early to avoid the queue. We tried the corned beef with potatoes and the stuffed French toast filled with cream cheese and blueberry jam—both were delicious. The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Parking was a major challenge, though, and the food was a bit on the pricey side.

Another great breakfast spot in Bar Harbor! The custom omelet was delicious, but honestly the homefries stole the show — my wife would agree, and she had a breakfast sandwich. The seasoning (a mix of cumin and coriander, I think) gave them such a unique and delicious flavor. The atmosphere inside is very cool, the only thing missing is some outdoor seating to enjoy that beautiful Maine weather.

A must breakfast spot in Bar Harbor, in my opinion. There can be a wait, but we went 3 times and only had a 25min wait once. The camp skillet and the lobster Benedict were sooo good! I personally loved the camp skillet because it was so savory and delicious with crispy edges on the omelette which I love. The rhubarb spread they have at every table is addicting! Definitely recommend trying it and if available to purchase, get it (unfortunately wasn’t being sold at the time we went). My husband had the pancakes with the strawberry rhubarb with turkey bacon and homefries, very good! We loved it so much we went 3 times during our trip. 10/10!

We greatly enjoyed our food here! The strawberry jam was delightfully scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed their food and we’d def go back if we were in the area. The employees were super friends and the service was pretty fast. If you want a good breakfast def stop In here and they will take care of u!

We went in to grab breakfast before heading back home. There was a little bit of a wait but we really wanted to try this place and I'm so glad we did. I ended up getting the lobster omelette and let me tell you I think that was the most lobster I had the entire time we were in Maine. I couldn't believe how much lobster was in this omelette. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was spectacular. We enjoyed everything and we are so glad that we took the time to stop in.
Sheena H — Google review
I was really disappointed with my visit here. The biscuits and gravy were downright gross—heavy, bland, and almost inedible. The orange juice was served warm, which is just unappealing for breakfast. To top it off, the corned beef hash was dry and completely lacking in flavor. Nothing on the table felt fresh or well-prepared. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.

I wish I'd found this diner sooner. There was so much choice on the menu I could have eaten here all week. I had the spiced apple pancakes and they were delicious. Great service too.

Stewman's Lobster Pound is a casual seasonal eatery located on the harborfront, offering a genuine nautical Maine experience. The restaurant provides dine-in and take-out options with an extensive seafood menu, including lobster rolls with traditional mayo or hot butter and toasted buns. Their signature Down East Lobster Experience features steamed Maine lobster served with New England clam chowder, local mussels, and buttered sweet corn and potatoes.
Right on the pier. Friendly service. Great lobster roll. The haddock sandwich was lightly fried which we liked but somewhat lackluster in flavor. Good fries and slaw. Very good oysters and a decent bloody mary.

We enjoyed an amazing meal right down by the pier at Stewman's in Bar Harbor. Our party split a 2-pound lobster with corn and potatoes, paired perfectly with a Virgin Bloody Mary. The view of the harbor was absolutely stunning. Our server was wonderful—though I can’t quite recall her name, I think it was Jacqueline. The fresh seafood, friendly service, and incredible waterfront setting made this a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bar Harbor!
Jennifer S — Google review
Overall experience was nice, ambiance, service was very good, best views, comfortable seating. Nice beer selection. Salad and Lobster Dip were marvelous, the Haddock was average, Peel an Eat Shrimp were excellent. Two of our Lobster Rolls were average - chewy. Would definitely return.

If you are going to have a meal in Bar Harbor, Stewman's is your place. Classic restaurant right on the harbor with nice views of the water. We were there during low tide so the water view was almost no existent, but yet still entertaining. The food was solid. The menu should please all age levels. The staff was exceptional and attended to our large party and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. This place deserves returns visits to experience all of the choices on the menu.

An on the water restaurant with delightful harbor view offering traditional local fare. Well run and excellent service. We came here twice for dinner specifically for whole steamed lobsters which did not disappoint, served with corn. They were delicious. As was the wild Maine blueberry pie to follow.
Anne H — Google review
I will start by saying yes. It's overpriced but so is everywhere in bar harbor. The only difference is this place place makes it worth it. You're sitting right on the harbor. You get to watch the boats come in and out and it has such a great atmosphere and amazing service. It was my first time ordering an entire lobster that I had to clean myself and I loved how they gave the directions right on the placemat. It made it super easy for us and the waiter was great. Coming back to check in periodically in case we needed additional help. We had such a fun dinner. The lobster was delicious. It might be pricey, but it's totally worth it.
Sheena H — Google review
We chose Stewman’s Lobster Pound on our first night in Bar Harbor by default, and it did not disappoint! Plenty of seating with no wait, and we scored a table outside right on the water. My wife and I both ordered the salmon with potatoes and the vegetable of the day. The portions were generous and satisfying — while I wouldn’t say every bite exploded with flavor, it was still a very good experience overall. Definitely a great spot to come back to after a long day of hiking in Acadia!

Loved it so much visited three times!! We had the Lobster experience, oysters, the shellfish tasting, fried shrimp, Long Island, lavender thyme cocktails, and most importantly - blueberry pie. All phenomenal. Ambience fits the vibe of bar harbor. View was incredible. Servers are very friendly and on point. Great prices too! You should definitely try it!

Paddy's Irish Pub & Restaurant is a charming waterfront establishment located at the West Street Hotel. The cozy atmosphere, with its dark wood and warm lighting, provides a stark contrast to the expansive seascapes just outside. The menu offers a mix of classic pub favorites like fish and chips, burgers, as well as traditional Irish dishes such as Pan Boxty Scramble.
Paddy’s was great! They had tons of seating inside and outside, and live music playing while we had lunch. The service was friendly and quick. The menu had a lot of options, and was hard to narrow down what to get since a lot looked good! I ended up getting the fish sandwich, which was delicious, and the fries they served were super crispy on the outside. They also provided drink refills without needing to ask, which was appreciated! A nice spot in bar harbor!

Family dinner after a long day exploring the town. The Irish Pub vibe was definitely more upscale, though still felt on point. 8 of us were able to be seated and served in a reasonable time. The service staff was excellent - attentive and friendly. Food came out as expected and for the most part everyone was happy enough with their meals. The summer chicken dish was phenomenal - paired with potatoes and root veggies which all tasted great. Fish and chips were also a great pick - very traditional one huge filet. The lesser favorites at our table included the nachos (on kettle chips) and the salads. Given the mixed reviews on the food, the price didn’t feel quite right. A bit expensive for the quality when there are other excellent choices nearby. We’ll probably skip this place on the next visit.

I was a little nervous by the reviews and after eating so much seafood we were on the hunt for something casual with good drinks and a great atmosphere. We found that here and it was perfect and a unique spot right on the water. We sat at a booth with a private little tv to watch the game. Had yummy drinks and the food was actually really good! We got the pretzel and the French dip. Pleasantly surprised.

Cute decor and ambience, we came for an early dinner before the crowds (~5pm). Liam was a great server; he was patient, fast, and gracious when I spilled water all over the table. We got a couple of drinks, a salad, their poutine, corned beef sandwich, a couple of burgers, a fish sandwich, and finished with dessert. It was all delicious, we ate so fast we forgot to take pics of our mains!

Beautiful location with a lovely dog friendly outdoor seating area. We started with whipped feta, very good. Dinner was the two fish tacos with a whole fish piece similar to the fish and chips both were delicious. The burger was well seasoned and good and the lobster salad had a TON of lobster meat! Definitely worth a stop

Jordan's Restaurant is a cozy breakfast and lunch spot that has been serving up delicious meals for years. Their breakfast menu features favorites like wild Maine blueberry pancakes and Eggs Benedict, served with fresh-brewed gourmet coffee from a local roaster. You can enjoy your meal on their spacious outdoor deck or take it back to your room. Known for their love of blueberries, Jordan's offers some of the best blueberry pancakes and muffins in Bar Harbor.
The best and probably cheapest breakfast we had while in town! They tell you to sit wherever you like. Service was fast and excellent! The blueberry waffle and muffin was LOADED with blueberries! I didn’t even need the blueberry syrup which was more of a compost but it was delicious! Highly recommend!
Mrs. H — Google review
On our last two days in Bar Harbor, we were craving a good old-fashioned breakfast — no frills, no foam art, just real food. Jordan’s turned out to be exactly what we needed. It’s an excellent classic diner — friendly, chatty service, the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if you’re just passing through, and simple, home-style food that hits the spot. Everything was fresh, tasty, and served with that comforting “made-with-love” vibe. And let’s talk about the blueberry muffins — warm, soft, and perfectly paired with a hot cup of coffee. Maine blueberries never disappoint, and neither did Jordan’s. Bottom line: if you want a hearty, no-nonsense breakfast served with a smile before your next hike or ferry ride, Jordan’s is the place.

Delicious diner in Bar Harbor, Maine. So grateful to have the opportunity to visit this restaurant. The omelette is so delicious, both the Maine delight omelette and lobster cheese. The blueberry pancake is also delicious, I recommend you to order the maple syrup since both combination will be mouthwatering. I really love the black coffee and half&half, helps you awake for the entire day. The toilets are so clean, and the waiters + waitresses are so friendly and fast. The location of the restaurant is also strategic, since it is next to grocery store.

I liked this place a lot. Came here after watching the sunrise on Cadillac mountain! I was craving a mom and pop type diner food and I got just that :) Stuck to my usual for breakfast. Their toast is good. Coffee is good too. I usually don't drink coffee while dining out. Pancakes were delicious. Staff is attentive and friendly. I would definitely want to come back here next time we're in Maine.
Tee — Google review
Decent diner, way overhyped. Blueberry pancakes are ok, they are not sweet, which is a nice contrast to the blueberry syrup. I might just try normal pancakes if we visit again. I almost ordered a muffin but wasn’t sure if they use the same batter… French toast was ok, maple syrup was pretty good but didn’t seem worth the up charge. Coffee was good, service was good, food came out quick, and they seem to have pretty quick turnover so you’re not there for hours. I’d come back, but I might try other places first.
Matthew L — Google review
The food was mostly good. I would highly recommend the bacon and cheese quiche, lobster roll and clam chowder. The haddock chowder was way too watery and quite disappointing. Service was fairly good but it's so busy that we felt pressured to be quick and get out as soon as possible.
Fong L — Google review
A great local place to get a great breakfast. The blueberry pancakes and western omelette were delicious. The staff were very kind and even gave us a few tips on what to see in the area. If you are going to Cadillac Mountain for the sunrise, this is a good option to catch breakfast before.

JORDAN'S IS A MUST!! If there is one breakfast spot you must stop at in Bar Harbor, it's definitely this gem. As a local who has been living here for a few years now, I can attest that Jordan's is the heart of this town. The owner, David Paine, is a true legend - flipping pancakes for over 50 years with a smile. This place feels like home, like family. David always takes the time to greet his regulars and make sure everyone feels welcomed. There's so much love and warmth in this old school diner, done the way that feels right with spoken tickets and true team work. Highly recommend it for a cozy and delicious breakfast experience! It's humble and done right and I can't wait to try everything on the menu.

The Jordan Pond House Restaurant is a historic stop known for its tea with popovers and jam, as well as larger meals that offer a view of the pond and mountains. Situated along the Park Loop Road, visitors can drive through the park and make stops at various attractions such as overlooks, beaches, horse and carriage ride stables, hiking paths, gardens, and museums.
One of my favorite meals during my visit to Maine. Had reservations for dinner on the last day of the season 10/26. And although the menu was extremely limited and we were the absolute last table being served, it did not affect the level of service and quality of meal. Our server Jackson was super nice and knowledgeable. The popovers are a MUST (so good!) The chicken caesar wrap was perfect👌🏻, the grilled cheese was an elevated version and delicious🙌🏻! And the side of chips completely complimented the meals👍🏻 Also loved how cozy and welcoming the entire dining area was and the picturesque view of Jordan Pond 🫶🏻 Highly recommend making reservations and checking out this dining experience when visiting Acadia National Park! (Check seasonal hours of operation before showing up!!)
Susan Z — Google review
After hiking all afternoon — finishing with a beautiful 3.7-mile loop around Jordan Pond — we were ready to refuel and had zero desire to drive back into town. With mild skepticism, we decided to try the Jordan Pond House right there in the park… and we were pleasantly surprised! They seated us right away (despite the dinner rush) by a window overlooking the lake — the kind of view that makes you instantly forget your sore legs. Our server, a friendly and funny student from Eastern Europe working for the summer, was a highlight: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. We shared the Spinach Bacon Blue Cheese Salad, New England Baked Haddock with mashed potatoes and veggies, Lobster Stew, and of course, the famous Popover Sundae. Everything was excellent — my husband ranked their stew (bisque) in his top two of the entire trip, and the Popover Sundae? Pure indulgence, the kind that makes you consider hiking another 3 miles just to justify it. My Lavender Honey Bee gin cocktail was so good I happily ordered a second round. Ending our hike at Jordan Pond House turned out to be a perfect choice — beautiful trail, great meal, sunset views, and happy bellies.
Adriana F — Google review
We decided on a walk around Jordan Pond after a dinner in town when the crowds were gone for the day and parking was easier. I hadn't made reservations for lunch or dinner here knowing we were here at the busiest time of year, but I was interested in seeing the restaurant. We had reservations for sunset on Cadillac Mountain and decided to stop in for dessert before we headed up. Dimitar was our very kind and warm server and the other staff were also friendly and warm. The restaurant was quiet at this point after the dinner rush and we were able to appreciate rhe history of the place while waiting for our dessert. The popover sundae we had heard so much about was delicious- big enough that I am glad we decided to split one, though. Definitely recommend saving room for dessert or coming here for just this, as we did. On our next trip to Acadia I would love to have lunch outside. Highly recommend stopping here for the history, service, and food. And the gift shop! Lots of great stuff there, too.
Jackie A — Google review
Thought it would a bad tourist trap, but actually pretty good food for being in the middle of no where. The beef stew was soft and the lobster stew was savory and spicy with some green onions on top. Other lobster stews can be too creamy and boring, but this was really good. However the rice was too slimy because I can tell they don’t rinse the rice before cooking, I don’t think they know that has to be done. The popovers are ok, they’re just yorkshire pudding. Don’t come just for the popovers.
M L — Google review
We spontaneously biked to Jordan Pond House Restaurant just to check it out, since it’s an institution, and we weren’t planning on eating a meal here but decided to see how long the wait was. It was only 20 minutes initially, but then a table opened up and we were seated within a few minutes! We had an incredible table right by the windows facing the lawn and lake - absolutely breathtaking. Food and drinks were awesome. We had coffee, popovers, a lobster popover, and the pulled pork sandwich with blueberry bbq sauce. The blueberry sauce was amazing, just so great paired with the pork. The lobster popover was also delicious and good portions. I had a lavender gin and honey cocktail, and my husband had the nom-alcoholic blueberry Moscow mule. Both were so delicious! It’s worth visiting even just for the views, and just checking how long the wait will be. For a party of two it wasn’t bad at all but I can imagine it may be longer for bigger parties - can’t say for sure though!
Amanda S — Google review
Came here for dinner and it was delicious. We shared some lobster bisque, clam chowder, lobster Mac and cheese and lobster roll. Everything was really good. The drinks were really good too. We sat outside and the view was amazing. We were served by Lucky who did a great job of making us feel good. Whilst the food is expensive, we thought that it made up for itself and the service was great. In particular you cannot miss the popovers. They are amazing and taste great with butter and jam.
Lachlan P — Google review
We wanted to stop here while in Acadia, and we thought it would be neat. We weren't sure about the popovers, they seemed like a novelty. After dining here, I realized that you cannot skip this, and popovers are amazing. The regular popovers are light and fluffy and go well with the strawberry jam and butter. The chicken pot pie was one of the best I've ever had, and slapping it in a popover instead of crust was inspired. For drinks, we went with the herbal blueberry iced tea and the blueberry lemonade, of course. Both were delightful. We sat in the restaurant around 11 am on the Friday before Labor Day, and only had a 15 minute wait. Don't try to go at peak times, aim for just before or after.
Derrick W — Google review
Parking was difficult but I’m glad we were patient and found a place to park, so we could enjoy the Jordan Pond House Restaurant. The place was packed but our wait to be seated was only 20-minutes. We were able to take an amazing selfie from the upper observation deck. I particularly enjoyed the Jordan Pond House lobster stew and warm popovers.

What a great night! All the great reviews and recommendations did not disappoint. Hannah was our waitress and she was amazing. So helpful, cheerful and great recommendations for our time in the area. Our drinks were so good. My husband had Mule Nor’easter and I had Jalapeño margarita. Yum! Then, we had Lobster bake and Scampi Garlicky. My husband add lobster to the shrimp and scallops. We finished with blue berry pie and it so reminded me of my grandmothers when I was a child. Delicious.

We came on a Sunday night around 5 PM and they said all the tables were for reservations only but we could sit at the bar. The bar filled up quick and then there was a line out the door when we left around six so definitely make a reservation.Athena gave us excellent service! The cocktails were great and the lobster stew had plenty of lobster in it with a nice sherry flavor! The lobster mini bake was a perfect way to try the lobster roll, the clam chowder plus have a little blueberry tart. The atmosphere was nice and we would definitely try this place again. If we were in the area, we preferred it over Stewmans

Overall, a decent place to eat. It's a touristy place more than anything. My take: - Food: average to slightly above average. We had the fried calamari and Brussell sprouts which were both decent. Neither were great. We also had the tuna poke which was very good. We also had a blueberry infused beer which was good. - Service: Was excellent. Wait staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. No pressure. No issues. - The place itself: Fun, not too noisy. It appears to be a great place to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, and socialize. We had no problems talking or being overwhelmed by noise. I'd recommend it but don't expect to be wowed by the food.

A fun yet homy eatery in Bar Harbor that serves you the local delicacies prepared with the utmost love. A definite must order is the steamed lobster — it is so juicy but still melts from the shell. The buttery sauce complement’s the lobster’s natural sweetness and makes each bite heavenly. The clam chowder is also a recommended order since it is a balanced appatiser that whets the appetite. The star of our meal though, was the blueberry pie. The cream is thick but not cloying and the additional ice cream mellows the tart-sweet richness of the blueberry compote. Paradise.

We loved Geddy’s for the food and the fun vibes! The menu has so many taste tempting offerings it’s hard to decide. I had the fish and chips which were outstanding! The batter was light and very crispy with delicious seasonings. My wife had the grilled haddock with Jasmine rice and grilled vegetables (green beans and carrots) which were flavorfully sautéed and crispy. Our server, Hannah was very gracious and professional and we never felt neglected. There is also a fun merch store downstairs where you can find any kind of items you might want for yourself or as gifts to take home. We would go back if we were in town longer!

For fun and great food this is where you go in Bar Harbor! Tourist town restaurants can be overpriced and low quality; but not Geddy’s. The staff was friendly, attentive and the signature chowder and lobster dinner with blueberry pie doesn’t disappoint. Even the corn on the cob was fresh, sweet and yummy. Thanks for taking the time to serve a great meal at a fair price.

So amazing! This is a great place. I am gluten/wheat free and dairy free and they had so many options. Our waitress said they try to cater their menu to the top five allergens. The fish and chips is phenomenal. Fries that are actually crispy. Fantastic. Highly recommend and would definitely make a reservation and least during peak times and it was pretty busy.

This spot in Bar Harbor is beautiful!!! really great decor and just a nice place to be. The service was awesome. David, the host, was super welcoming and friendly, honestly the best we’ve ever had when visiting the West coast. The food was good. I had a burger that was pretty standard, nothing special, but my wife got the lobster plate and it was amazing. It came with clam chowder and a blueberry pie that were both so good. The lobster was big and totally worth it definitely pay the extra $4 to get it already out of the shell. Way less messy and easier to eat. Everything tasted super fresh, like it came straight off the Maine coast. We’d go back for the atmosphere, the great service, that blueberry pie, and the lobster.

West Street Cafe is a bright and airy restaurant located on historic West Street near the waterfront in downtown Bar Harbor. The cafe offers a chic and urban ambiance without pretension, with friendly bartenders and fresh, affordable food. Known for its early-bird specials, the cafe's signature dish is the Downeast Special featuring Maine lobster, clam chowder, fries, cole slaw, and blueberry pie.
My boyfriend and I discovered Side Street Cafe through a recommendation from a tour guide. We decided to take his recommendation and it was one of the best decisions of our trip. We both got a crab roll with a side of fries/cape cod chips. This was our first time trying a crab roll and I'm afraid to say that it's going to be difficult to find another crab roll just like this one. The crab tasted delicious; it was so fresh and tangy. I also really enjoyed the fries; they were thick, flavorful, and not too crispy. I also recommend getting a side of tartar sauce! We also tried a blueberry martini! It was very strong and I loved that there were actual blueberries at the bottom. The service was also quick and the waiters were nice and attentive. I also really loved how the restaurant looked during the day. It has two floors and has a lot of space for natural light to come in. I would love to come eat here again and I 10/10 recommend this restaurant.

I love the atmosphere of West Street Cafe. It's a block away from the main row of restaurants, so it feels less trafficked, and it's got that great New England fish house vibe. The restaurant is clean and organized. I ordered the Fish 'N Chips, and my wife ordered the Baked Stuffed Haddock with Mashed Potatoes and Herbed Focaccia. I also ordered the Wild Maine Lemonade. The Fish 'N Chips was the best I've had. Disclaimer: I'm from a landlocked state, so this may apply to tourists like myself. My wife thought the Stuffed Haddock was surprisingly good, but a bit too hearty for her. She preferred the fish n chips. The Wild Maine Lemonade was too nuanced in its flavors, and I wouldn't order it again. The service was excellent the whole time through. There was a 25 minute wait when we arrived, with 5 parties ahead of us, but the host gave us realistic expectations while also letting us know she would try to get us in quickly. Less than 15 minutes later, we received a text that they had a table for us, and we ended up at a golden spot by the front windows. Aaron, our server, was helpful, friendly, and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience, including patiently answering several of my stupid questions. The service was truly amazing. I enjoyed my visit and would both eat here again and recommend you stop in yourself.

Great place. Haven't had fresh lobster so tender and succulent as what was on our lobster roll in a long time. Along with the lobster roll also got the clam chowder, house salad, onion rings, blueberry pie. Blue berries sourced locally according to the wait staff. If you like a little bit in your beverage I recommend the ginger root soda The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Potions were enough to be able to share.

Such a perfect place for the last dinner on our trip! Our group of five went here and everybody agreed that we enjoyed the food and that the service was great. I am vegan and the waitress was more than accommodating to me to make sure my meal was dairy free. All the staff that served us were outstanding. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great!

Great lunch spot! The spicy chicken sandwich(wasn't actually spicy.)Sauce just had a nice flavor to it. Was one of the best meals i'v had since visiting Bar harbor. The atmosphere was great. Kudos to the restaurant for having so many awesome plants inside. I understand the work it takes to keep them looking so good. Will visit again before I leave at the end of the week.

Stopped here for lunch on a Thursday in peak season. Very hard to find close parking, but walked right in, no wait & food was fast. Lots of beautiful plants, modern & bright, quiet…vibe was 10/10! Food was delicious as well.

My wife and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. This was my first time trying lobster and it was pretty good. My sides were coleslaw and bread both of were fairly good. My wife had the fish and chips and the fish was okay the fries were well seasoned and well.

We loved the West Street Cafe. It’s a great vibe for hanging out with friends or playing a game at the bar with your bestie. We were there for dessert and a beer. The flourless chocolate torte was exquisite and the blueberry pie a la mode kept us going back. We highly recommend this establishment.

The Reading Room Restaurant is an upscale-casual dining venue located at the Bar Harbor Inn, offering a delectable selection of seafood and steaks accompanied by live piano music. Originally established as the Mount Desert Reading Room in 1887, this historic property has been a hub for literary and social culture in Bar Harbor. Over the years, it has hosted notable events such as President William Howard Taft's reception in 1910.
We visited the Reading Room in Bar Harbor with a party of five, and the entire experience was beyond a 10. The views alone are sweeping and magnificent, but what truly stood out was the impeccable service from everyone from the delightful hostess to our server, Haley. Every detail felt thoughtful, the wine, the table settings, including the little palate cleanser between courses, which was a delightful touch. We had the seafood appetizer plate with lobster and crab and oysters and shrimp. We had the filet mignon, and it was one of the most tender, perfectly prepared cuts I’ve ever enjoyed—simply outstanding. My sister couldn’t stop raving about the fresh oysters, and every seafood dish at our table was a hit. I also tried the compressed pear salad, and the balance of flavors was both unique and refreshing. The meal was finished off with espresso martinez! Mmmm. The atmosphere sealed the night for us—the live piano music created an elegant, relaxing backdrop that elevated the whole dining experience. Truly an unforgettable evening filled with incredible food, gracious service, and a setting that couldn’t be more memorable.

We love fine dining and made reservations at the Reading Room in hopes of a really fantastic experience. Reviews seemed good, but overall it didn't live up to the hype. Food was okay at best. The best part was the bread and blueberry butter and the blueberry sorbet. I order the prosciutto wrapped cod - it had a very hard outer shell and basically came out cold. I pick out the cod and ate it despite the temperature and left the prosciutto. The green beans were good and seasoned well. We had a 6:30 reservation and waited probably 20 minutes to be seated. There was a reservation that was over 20 minutes late for their reservation that got seated before we did - they should have had to wait since they were so late. Just my opinion. When finally seated - we were in the back corner of the restaurant next to the window. Glad to be next to the window, but not a great table. My husband basically had a view of the door next to the hostess stand. We also found it difficult to understand our server. He was pleasant enough, but it definitely altered our experience because my husband couldn't understand a word he said and I was understanding about 70%. Overall, not a place that I would book again, though I might try their terrace next time. Disappointing for what I expected to be an exceptional experience.

I had one of the best filet mignons in my life here. My husband and I absolutely loved dinner here, one of our top favorites. The view around sunset was beautiful, we were lucky and it was raining earlier so we saw a rainbow along with the sunset. The crab cake appetizer was delicious, our entrees of the land and sea were absolutely amazing (lobster and filet were cooked to perfection, the filet just melted in your mouth), and the mocha espresso cake dessert was light and perfect way to end the evening. Our waitress (Haley I think) was very kind and helpful. We loved her! There is also a live piano player, very nice touch. Overall experience here was 10/10

Amazing! Made reservations ahead of time and was blown away with the view! Simply stunning with the boats coming in and the gorgeous sunset. Our dinner highlights were the oysters, scallop dinner & blueberry pie dessert - also pianist kept the mood fun & enjoyable! Highly recommend for both adults & kids.

Service was great and the view of the harbor is beautiful. The piano player was also nice. The scallops were perfectly good and absolutely delicious. The crab cake was decent but I'd probably get a different app next time. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended.

A great experience! Overall, food was a solid 4/5 stars, but the service was awesome! I had the short rib and I did not have a single complaint. My boyfriend got the Land & Sea and was slightly disappointed at how little lobster he got. When they said “lobster tail” we imagined a bit more than he got. However it tasted great 🤷🏼‍♀️ blueberry pie was DELICIOUS.

Stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa and ate our last night’s meal at this special spot overlooking the water. Got a res at 5:45pm to soak in the scenery before sunset. Sabrina our waitress was fabulous. Incredible soups and our entrees were top shelf. I had the Lazy Lobster which was out of this world. Highly recommend this place!!

Rose Eden Lobster is a charming seafood eatery known for its live or cooked lobster and outdoor dining. It's celebrated as the top classic Maine lobster shack, offering an authentic taste of Maine's renowned lobsters. The menu includes not only seafood but also vegetarian and gluten-free options. With lovely views of Frenchman Bay, this casual restaurant serves up a variety of lobster dishes, from rolls to bisque and broiled tails.
Hands down the best lobster roll. We tried a bunch of other places during our time here and nothing else compares. We enjoyed both the regular and Cajun style rolls. Definitely worth the price! The corn is great and so is their lemonade!! Highly recommend!
Alexis A — Google review
Lobsters were cooked perfectly and very fresh. Clams looked questionable but tasted heavenly. Corns were divine, my mom's favorite! All outdoor dining and once you place the order, they start cooking. No pre-cooked food. It takes about 25 min. Atmosphere were ok, nothing fancy, the menus were all written by hands. Over all, it was very pleasant service, warm atmosphere, reasonable price and heavenly food. Definitely will come back and highly recommended.
Saerom K — Google review
This is the best lobster I've had in a long time. This restaurant has limited hours, plan accordingly. They have both sofshell and hardshell lobsters. I had to ask what was the difference. He gave a detailed answer. The lobsters can be ordered by size. Muscles accompany the lobster. Corn on the cob was fresh. Everything was very good. They have local and domestic beers. There's limited seating, matched with limited parking. This place is popular, come early. There is an outside sink with hot/cold water to wash your hands. There's hand soap next to the sink.
Ray C — Google review
This isn't same place as last year as Rose and husband retired. This is a one man shop lobster place. Rolls are $38 and lobster $27 per pound. Not sure why all the high ratings as expensive. All lobsters and fish come from local fisherman (they don't do it themselves). Really shouldn't be rising on past reviews
Dan — Google review
I saw a recent review that stated that a change in ownership had been for the worse. Not true. My wife and I've eaten at this lobster pound under both owners and it remains the best. We ate there a few nights ago. The lobster was outstanding, but I was equally impressed by the clam chowder and both of us raved about the corn. The young man who'd served us said that they'd just bought a batch of fresh corn from a local farmer, rather than sourcing it from a much cheaper source. We could taste the difference. I loved the lobster 3 yrs ago when a woman ran the pound, selling lobster supplied by her husband. I rated her operation with 5 stars too, but I don't recall that she offered clam chowder or Atlantic Brewing blueberry ale. So give this lobster pound a try. You won't be disappointed.

Great seafood shack. Food was out of this world! I had lobster, corn and corn and crab chowder... Oh so good. And the lobster was sweet and delicious. My guy had steamed clams and muscles... Loved them both. No indoor seating, but that's party of the whole "lobster shack" experience. I definitely recommend this establishment.
Jennifer F — Google review
It’s outdoor picnic table dining. The BEST place to eat lobster. We ordered 2 soft shelled 1.5 lb lobsters. They came with small potatoes and the best unhusked ears of corn we ever had. We passed on the steamers. The lobster was amazing! Seems it tastes a lot better when it’s steamed over ocean water!! Highly recommended!!

The lobster was so fresh that I watched him pull it out of the basket alive. Not too much mayo so the taste really shown through. Prices were comparable with close by places but with no line

The Stadium in Bar Harbor is a casual eatery that offers a variety of delicious dishes, including lobster mac & cheese, handmade rolls, and breakfast sandwiches. The restaurant also serves an array of coffee drinks and has merged with The Coffee Hound to offer an expanded menu and souvenirs. Known for its award-winning lobster rolls, such as the Stadium Roll with brown butter or the Lobster BLAT Roll, The Stadium celebrates Maine's native ingredients by providing a unique made-from-scratch experience.
I wish we had time to try everything on this menu! Alas, we went back each of our two days in Bar Harbor and I stuck with the sure thing: The Popover! It was so dang good - warm, slightly gooey, so delicious! My kids loved the still-warm (giant) chocolate chip cookies. We tried the blueberry donuts and different coffee drinks. Warning: There was a line every time we went but it actually does move fast. They have a great system set up. Also be warned that there’s no seating. On the first day we are on a bench out front and the second we grabbed our food to go. Highly recommend!
Lisa K — Google review
The Stadium in Bar Harbor was recommended to us for a lobster roll, and it was good! I’ll be honest, I don’t have much to compare it to, but the bun and sauce on this roll were absolutely delicious. If you’re a fan of cold lobster, I’d imagine this one would score really high. Personally, I would have preferred it warm, but I know that’s not the quintessential lobster roll experience.
Jake G — Google review
The Stadium hits you with that magical aroma the moment you walk in — the kind that makes you seriously consider ordering one of everything. There are so many tempting options here: pastries, sandwiches, crepes, bubble teas, fancy coffees… it’s basically a caffeine-and-carb paradise. We stuck to our usual lattes (we’re coffee purists — cream, maybe whole milk, no foam hearts necessary) and then did the responsible thing: shared a blueberry pie. Because when in New England, it’s basically a moral obligation to consume something blueberry, lobster, or maple every day. The pie was perfection — sweet, tart, buttery, and golden enough to make Paul Hollywood proud. The service was friendly and impressively efficient — this place runs like a well-oiled espresso machine. The only downside? Nowhere to sit. But honestly, grabbing your goodies and walking to the nearby park to soak in the coastal view makes it even better. Bottom line: come for the smell, stay for the pie, and bring your appetite (and maybe a park bench).
Adriana F — Google review
I had a fantastic experience at The Stadium in Bar Harbor. The popover was excellent, crispy, fresh, and especially delicious with the butter and maple syrup spread. Paired with a good cappuccino, nice chai, and a chocolate walnut cookie, there was real variety and everything was nicely done. The ambiance here is cozy and welcoming, whether you dine inside or take advantage of the outdoor seating with river views. Customer service was truly 10/10: the staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive, making me feel right at home. Everything I tried was tasty, and the vibe of the restaurant made it easy to relax and enjoy a slow meal. I’d definitely recommend The Stadium for anyone visiting Bar Harbor who wants delicious food and great hospitality.

Service was great and super quick. We stopped in here for the popovers since Jordan Pond was over an hour wait. Turns out that prices were a lot fairer here anyway! We got two popovers with blueberry jam for $9.95 and added the maple butter. Excellent! Super warm - very comparable to a french toast flavor. Highly highly recommend.
Erin A — Google review
Stopped in for a popover and a blueberry pie. The popover was definitely lackluster, a chewy, bland fry bread. They need to come fresh out of the oven to be good and I think ours had been sitting a while. The pie, however, was the best blueberry pie we ever had. Absolutely that wild Maine blueberry flavor, and a perfect buttery crispy crust (top only, like shepherds pie). I like that they make these mini pies, perfect for two to share at the nearby park.
A N — Google review
The popovers were delicious! We all loved it. The chocolate chip cookie was amazing too. My son just wanted it after he saw it. Highly recommend trying their popovers and they seemed to be sold out by the afternoon. So plan accordingly.
G F — Google review
I stopped by this bakery for a breakfast sandwich and was really impressed — it was delicious, hearty, and filling, exactly what you want to start the day. The bread was fresh and clearly baked in-house, which made a huge difference in flavor and quality. One thing to note is that the bakery doesn’t have seating or public restrooms, so it’s best for grab-and-go rather than dining in. That being said, the food itself is well worth the stop if you’re looking for something tasty and satisfying on the move.

This family-owned business, run by generations of lobstermen, serves up fresh catches daily. From succulent lobster rolls to flavorful lobster bisque, there's something for every seafood lover. Amazing hot lobster roll and lobster bisque. My husband got the chicken quesadilla and said it was great too! We went at the end of the day around 5:30pm and had no wait. Easy parking. They also have a bar and the drinks looked good. It’s a great spot to hangout and get some food!

The real deal - The staff at our motel suggested this place as the best around and it did not disappoint! We got the sampler 3 roll dinner and a blueberry pie with blueberry ice cream and the food was amazing. Portion sized seemed very reasonable to us. The lobster and rolls were fresh and very tasty. Not too mayonnaise-ey like some are. The pie and ice cream were also delicious. The location is easy to get to from downtown Bar Harbor and has a great atmosphere. Best in the good weather however - no indoor seating if you're after it. Staff were super friendly and service was great. Loved this place - highly recommend it.

Everyone was super nice! You get a discount if you use cash vs card. I shared a lobster dinner. My mom and her friend had lobster rolls! The mini is definitely enough chow for one person! Drinks were on the expensive side. $3 for a canned soda! Everything was very delicious! My lobster claw had a lot of meat in it, the other had none. Haha. I got a dysfunctional lobster. You have to stop here for the lobster dinner and lobster rolls! 10/10!

Hands down the best lobster I’ve had — and we ate our way around all of Bar Harbor! We’re total foodies and tried multiple spots, but this one topped them all. The lobster was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. It’s the ideal place to sit outdoors, enjoy the beautiful Maine weather, and pair your meal with an ice-cold beer. A must-visit stop if you’re in Bar Harbor!

I've never had a crab roll before today. The crab roll was delicious. I will order that again and again. The crabmeat to bread ratio was perfect. We also ordered the 1 1/2 lbs lobster dinner which came with corn and steamed mussels. All delicious. It was a bit cool outside, but they have fire pits available to keep you warm and music to keep you singing. Great vibes!!! Thanks for the wonderful customer service.

You know it’s good when there’s always a line. Fresh lobster, good beer, what else do you need? The line moves fairly quick if that’s your concern. 100% recommend a stop for some lobster, and try the sampler for a taste of each variety of roll.
Jordan D — Google review
Out of all the restaurants we went to in Maine, I think this was my favorite. Had the lobster roll sampler (came with 2 cold and 1 hot), the clam chowder, and oysters on the half shell. I’ve never seen a place use oyster shells for the sauces that come with it - super smart/efficient. Everything was wonderful.

Saturday, July 2025: My husband and I traveled from Wisconsin to Maine and wanted an authentic lobster experience on the water. We liked the outdoor dining setting at The Terrace Grille so opted to have lunch there outside. We went there at 1PM on a Saturday and were seated right away. We didn't get a table right next to the edge but we could see the water perfectly from our seats. Our waiter was very friendly but he, and most of the staff, were transplants. Our waiter told us he didn't know where lobsters came from until he recently moved here. lol For an appetizer, we shared the Crab & Appetizer Dip. It was delicious!!! Definitely not healthy but we didn't care, we ate most of it. Tip: eat it while it's hot! It's definitely not good cold. For lunch, I had the Bar Harbor Lobster Cobb salad and my husband had the Steamed Maine Lobster. My salad was amazing! The lobster was fresh, tender, and overall the flavors of the salad went well together with the honey citrus dressing. My husband wasn't crazy about his lobster, he said the meal was acceptable but the lobster was overcooked.

Came here on a lark with no reservations so waited just long enough to have a smoked blueberry margarita. Best decision of the day. View goes very with lobster pappardelle. Hubs had steamed lobster plate. Both dishes amazing. Restaurant is on the shore path so an after dinner stroll is a must. Friendly and accommodating to my service dog os always appreciated.

The best part about dining at The Terrace Grill is the view across the harbor toward Bar Island. It’s stunning. Next is the service. Our server, Kim, did an excellent job balancing checking on us and giving us space. She paid special attention to details with our order and answered our questions about the harbor and the community. Finally, the food was very good and well presented. My wife had the Blueberry salad with Salmon which was outstanding. I had the fish tacos with grilled haddock and they were quite tasty. The sauce and salsa had excellent flavor. The fish was a little dry. The prices were quite reasonable and I would definitely go back.
William T — Google review
I honestly expected better from this place. The food was average probably the least tastiest food I’ve had in bar harbor. The plating was nice. I had the lobster bruschetta which had way too much mayo, was not great. The haddock sandwich which was good but a little spicy. Fish tacos which were not that great. Cesar salad was drenched in dressing. I had 2 bites and had to send it back. The service was not great either, workers would go the other way when you’re clearly trying to get their attention. I had to literally get up to get the workers attention for things I needed. The views are amazing though. I would only come here for drinks.
B S — Google review
Best restaurant in Bar Harbor. I’m still dreaming about the Lobster Bisque and Lobster Rolls. Bisque was hot and tasty. Roll was sturdy and didn’t fall apart. Also best blueberry pie and ice cream we had. And the atmosphere of being under the umbrellas next to the water was perfect.
Angel S — Google review
Sometimes you have to sacrifice food quality in exchange for an amazing view of the water, but not in this case. We loved our entrees here, especially the lobster pappardelle. Unfortunately, they didn’t nail the ending, as the blueberry pie tasted like store-bought …and stale. I would still return, though, the view is absolutely stunning!

Probably my favorite place in town. Feels clean, tastes clean. Great smoothies, nice breakfast. Probably best smoothies around. Had avocado toast and a salad bowl one day, waffle breakfast and egg, and acai bowls another time. Everything's great. Though feel like the waffle wasn't as worth it as the .. more produce-focused dishes. Seems like a few people come here for smoothies like others might do with coffee.

Lots of vegan options. We came here twice on our two day trip to Acadia. The staff were attentive to dietary restrictions (refined sugar) and checked the ingredients list (tempeh was marinated with brown sugar so had to avoid that). The hummus veggie sandwich was great to bring on the hikes for both days. Lots of hydrating and flavorful veggies. Our other favorite was the lentil walnut burrito which had a unique seasoning and was nice to enjoy warm! Great option for a quick sit down meal or to go that's healthy and delicious!

Good range of healthy breakfast and lunch items. I particularly enjoyed a chia pudding with almond butter and fruit compote and the cold brew coffee was decent too. Not such a fan of the breakfast sandwich - it didn't really work on the gf bread. The burrito was good. Friendly and efficient service. It seems like most people are ordering to go or collecting orders rather than dining in, at weekend breakfast time at least

Had Zesty south west salad and hummus veggie sandwich. Food was tasty and fresh. Hummus sandwich had a different type bread, tasted like a fluffy naan covered with oil, and filled with fresh veggies which I liked. I am glad we chose this place.

Went here for smoothie bowls during our Acadia trip. Bowls were solid, they don't use sweetened Acai which is a huge plus, and the place is quaint with a nice porch for sitting. They also offer a kids size bowl which is great since the kids never eat all of theirs anyway. Would recommend.

Oh my goodness! Eggs&Green wrap is the best gluten free wrap I've ever had, and I tried a few 🙌 I am so impressed, it wasn't dry, or falling apart, the filling inside was warm and juicy with cooked greens, everything I needed for my sensitive stomach 🙏 (I would suggest taking extra napkins for the juiciness of it, securing the sides and the bottom, especially if you are eating on the go) I also really appreciated how accommodating they are for adjusting the smoothie ingredients. The atmosphere outside is also nice on a warm sunny day ✨️

As usual, a flight was on tap for me and theirs was 5 pours. Enjoyed the variety but felt there were many on my flight that had a similar background flavor. Would love to have another chance to visit again.

Blueberry beer is the best of course, they have a decent variety of other options including a red ale I enjoyed but the blueberry I would order again for sure. Crab quesadillas were actually really great, lots of crab meat, goat cheese is tasty. Comes with guac which is good but unnecessary. Still would order again. Fish and chips are incredible, the fries come with kosher sea salt on them and are worth upgrading to or ordering a side of. Overall favorite dish here, would order again. Overall, worth it if your first priority is the beer. Otherwise I’d try somewhere else and just order a blueberry ale.

The beer was the best part obviously. The blueberry ale or mountain hopper were great places to start. They advertise dog friendly, however, this is only on the 1st floor outside which has no seatable tables. We’re tourists so we were getting small food plates at each restaurant we tried. Whatever you do, don’t get the truffle fries. Luckily we walked 12 miles in the morning to create an appetite, but the “truffle fries” were not what you think as traditional truffle fries. Just see the picture below. Location and atmosphere were decent.

Visited this place, very nice ppl, and service good. Tried a few sorts of beer, and feeling not so good, taste is strange. Blueberry beer, too much spicy, don’t like it. Braha beer very nice, the best, cost to try it! The rest of beer was total garbage. Let me explain why: because of water and cheap ingredients. After taste: like a filtered waste water. Lager has sour taste, like spoiled. That is a nice region for beer business, but seems no good competitor)

As someone who doesn’t love beer (I know, I know, what went wrong in my upbringing?) I absolutely loved the fountain/tap blueberry soda. A Maine beverage at its finest… right where it’s made. And somehow it tastes far better than the bottled version. And the free refill is the icing on the cake.

Perfect stop for a bite with some wonderfully crafted local beer. We tried the beer sampler and chose the beer ourselves. All five were very good, my favorite being the Real Ale- a brown beer but not very bitter, with a wonderful nutty and coffee taste. The bread on the meat board was so good, served warm with olive oil drizzled on top. The duck wings are a dish that’s hard to find, we were glad that we tried this as well: moist, delicious with 3 very inspired sauces.

Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is a rustic seafood spot located on Route 3 just before crossing onto Mount Desert Island in Maine. This family-operated business has been serving up the best of Downeast Maine since the 1950s, offering boiled lobster, steamed clams, and flavorful lobster stew. The little white building with wood-fired cookers out front sets the scene for a messy but delicious dining experience.
If you are on the hunt for fresh lobster and a locally owned family business , then look no farther. We have had fresh cooked whole lobsters in the past but tonight we had lobster rolls. They do stop cooking live lobsters at 7:15 so keep this in mind if this is your preference. The lobster rolls did not disappoint! They are loaded with so much lobster meat that you have to eat a few pieces off the top before you can pick it up. I was good with this😋 The granddaughter of the proprietor was helping up front when we placed our order and then came to check in on us as we were finishing up! We learned a little bit of the history of the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound . We grabbed a blueberry pie to bring home. We highly recommend dining here.

Food was good! The hot lobster roll was much better than the cold. They cook the lobsters outside in a pit. Great service and decent price for lobster rolls.

We visited from Arizona a week ago and had a blast with family from Chicago and Florida. The owner helped us order and was so kind and patient. Four people had lobster dinners, one shrimp, and one ate chowder, rolls, and corn. All six of us enjoyed the atmosphere as well as every bite. I wish we lived closer!

When we were leaving Bar Harbor we decided to stop and get some fresh lobster meat to take home. We bought a container of fresh lobster here and decided to freeze it and enjoy it later. I anticipated cut up pieces of lobster and hopefully nothing else as filler. When we did eat it, it was spectacular. It tasted so fresh, and in our container were 3 full lobster tails, 3 full claws, and numerous other large chunks of lobster. I highly recommend their lobster. We will be return customers!

Cute spot! 🦞 You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. You can choose your own lobster 🦞 and they steam them right outside - you can watch if you want. Clean outdoor dining area with a place to wash your hands after. They will ship lobsters for you as well if you want :)

Just dropped in because we saw the line! Oh heavens it was worth it!! Friendly staff and fresh, delicious lobster! I even finally tried their whoopie pie and blueberry soda along this trip. Can't say enough about it, it's a must stop!!!

I ordered the lobster stew and it may be one of the worst ones I had in the Bar Harbor area. It had a thick layer of oil on the top and the base was straight up milk. No seasoning. I would refrain from ordering the stew.

Chose my own lobster and they cooked it right up. It was so fresh and delicious. Also got sides of corn, potato salad, cole slaw, and salted potato’s. All were delicious as well! Prices were very reasonable too!

La Bella Vita - Harborside Hotel is an Italian restaurant located at 55 West St, Bar Harbor, Maine. It offers a blend of Italian classics and cocktails in an elegant yet relaxed setting. The restaurant draws inspiration from Italy's culinary traditions, using fresh garden vegetables and authentic Old World recipes to create a memorable dining experience.
Had Mother’s Day dinner here. The bruschetta was delicious. The Greek salad we split was good. And our entrees were delicious - spaghetti potosi w/meatballs and chicken Parmesan. On a different night we did takeout pizza and the Caesar salad which was good.
Colleen C — Google review
Decent Italian food. Pizzas were great. Pasta was OK. Drinks were terrible. 16 dollars for a cocktail in a regular glass full of ice and not much taste except for a strong dominant pineapple taste. See photo for yourself. Prices are steep. Service was also average. Overall, A for food and B- for service and C- for drinks

We were looking for an Italian restaurant for dinner one night while in Bar Harbor. When going through the reviews, I wasn't too sure but we went anyway. Best lobster ravioli I've ever had. I only got the small portion and it was a very satisfying amount of food. There was an impressive amount of lobster in it for the price. Overall, it was a great value compared to other Italian restaurants I've been to. We also got the Ricotta and Hot Honey Pizza and it had a great flavor. The pizza is a substantial size and could be shared by two people.

Had dinner here last night- the pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had! I wanted to eat the entire thing it was that good. The bartender Rayan was great and made us delicious espresso martinis. I will always come back here for the pizza whenever I’m in town

The restaurant was great. Visited at night time so couldn't get the harbor view. We (party of 2) were seated inside, good ambience. The restaurant is pretty much booked but we were able to get a table within 10 mins of putting down our names, so didn't have to wait much. Less of vegetarian options but highly recommend getting the Garlic Knots! They were just delicious. We had the night's special - Bucatini(?) pasta with different mushrooms and a creamy sauce (I don't remember what it was called) - delicious with Fresh Shaken Agave Limeade . But I would say that this restaurant was definitely on the pricier side but if you would like to enjoy the view, the ambience then definitely a good visit.

You are here for the view and atmosphere. I ordered the Rustic breakfast Sandwich but I really wanted Eggs Benedict but I don’t like English Muffin so I kindly requested they change the Muffin for the Ciabatta bread and they wouldn’t do it. Don’t see the big deal.

EXCELLENT lobster - SO good that we came back the next day! We ordered 4 boiled soft shell lobsters that we took home to eat for dinner. They were absolutely fabulous. So tender, flavorful and juicy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Rating: 5/10 Date Last Visited: 8/17/2025 We ordered the Lobster Dinner for Two, Lobster Roll ($30), Clam Chowder ($10), and Blueberry Pie. The lobster itself was decent, but the lobster was a bit small and there wasn’t much meat. The mussels and corn that came with the lobster was good. The lobster roll was pretty solid, but I thought the bagged potato chips were a bit lazy (would prefer homemade chips or fries). The clam chowder was good too, it was savory and I could really taste the clam flavor. The blueberry pie was decent but too sweet. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and the service is solid. Overall, this place is great if you’re in the area and want a lobster meal, but it’s a bit pricey for the taste and quantity.
Andy L — Google review
I read about this place in a blog, and they said that this was a really great place to visit. It definitely didn’t disappoint, and everyone was very friendly from the cook to the cashier. We ordered mussels and a whole lobster combo. They do not have very many gluten-free options, but they did mention that they will be doing that soon. The potato salad was a good gluten-free option and we ate that with the mussels. The food was very delicious and we highly recommend this place.
Jeff — Google review
Casual hangout space with ample seating, some yard games and a fire pit, friendly staff, clean spaces, and most importantly amazing food. Lobster roll was heavy on the lobster, light on the sauce, delicious toasted bun, and the crab roll was equally fantastic. Great experience!
Andrew G — Google review
Lobster roll didn’t have a ton of meat. Meat was overcooked and mostly tiny scraps with little claw meat. Deceptive to say it comes with melted butter but is in fact oil of some sort with no butter flavor. Came cold and wasn’t hardened so I knew it wasn’t real butter. Didn’t taste anything like butter either. Weird way to cheap out. I was hesitant to post a bad review of C-Ray since it is a well-known place, but tried Red’s and McLoon’s today and they are SOOO much better! Reds gave triple the lobster meat of C-Ray and had real, hot butter. Don’t waste your money at C-Ray
John B — Google review
Probably the BEST cold lobster roll I had on Mt. Desert Island with their chive mayo. Bonus is that they give you a wedge of lemon on the side unlike some other places I've visited. Very clean facilities with options for both outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely check this place out if you're in town!

Out door venue serving Lobster and other seafood. I had clam chowder and a grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was very good, the chowder was ok, but being in Maine I kind of expected great chowder. I also got blueberry pie for dessert and it was delicious.

Our first night in Maine we were referred to Red Sky for dinner. Thankfully we were able to get a reservation last minute. Our dining experience was absolutely fantastic. The staff are beyond professional and courteous while the atmosphere is unique. Oddly enough, you feel like you might be dining in a different country just based on the European vibes. The food was absolutely spectacular, highly recommend the mussels starter and the lobster risotto. 10/10

Booked a reservation at this place on a whim and what a surprise. Everything about it—food, service, and ambiance — was first rate. Far better than I thought I had any right to expect in a little place in Southwest Harbor Maine. You could drop this place with the staff they have in Manhattan and they’d hold their own. And while everything is good: get the duck breast.
Edward W — Google review
My wife and I had a great evening dining experience at Red Sky. The food was excellent and the service was first class. Our host was kind enough to give us a reservation for the next day and she accepted to put us at a very nice table by the window. I really recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Southwest Harbor. You will have a great time 👍🏼 (take the time to call and reserve in advance, as the dining room is fairly small).

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Red Sky last night. The pale yellow walls highlight colorful paintings by local artists, creating a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. Diners ranged from casually dressed to more formal. We enjoyed excellent martinis, delicious appetizers, and a perfectly prepared main course—followed by a dessert we couldn’t resist. The flavors, featuring local ingredients, were outstanding. Service was impeccable—attentive without hovering. One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!

We saved this place for our last night in the southwest harbor area. To say we saved the best for last would truly be an understatement. This was the best meal we had while in Maine. The owner was also very personal, went out of his way to introduce himself, and sent us free glasses of champagne since we were celebrating our wedding. He also has an adorable dog that he let me pet! 🥰😂

One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had! We came in at opening with our infant daughter and was welcomed immediately. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience

Not sure what the deal is on this place. We had 8pm reservations and arrived 5 min early and they told us to wait outside even though there were tables available. We were then informed that their signature dish - lobster risotto was not an option. Apparently they were sold out of their most popular dish. We compromised with the cod. At 9:19, out fish finally arrived and it was bland. We quickly ate and got out of there. $200 later. Not recommended !!

The Looking Glass Restaurant in Bar Harbor, Maine offers a delightful dining experience with its elevated American cuisine and scenic bay views. A bit expensive for breakfast. Gorgeous view from the indoors or outdoors. I sat outside on a pleasant 70F morning. Being in Maine, my daughter tried the blueberry latte-loved the blueberry flavor but the roast was more bitter than she prefers. We ordered an omelette, a Bar Harbor breakfast, and breakfast burrito. The bacon was a nice center cut thick bacon and my order included 3 slices instead of two. The burrito was excellent as well. The omelette was typical.

We happened to be there on their busiest morning. Food was great. They were not prepared for the crowd, and asked for our patience. Hostess was for sure overwhelmed. We had the blueberry pancakes and the Nutella crepe. Pancakes were great. Crepe wasn’t hot. Berries were good

Looking Glass Restaurant boasts an absolutely stunning view—it’s easily the best part of the experience and makes for a great atmosphere. The food was decent and the menu had a good variety to choose from. However, the service was underwhelming. It took at least 20 minutes for our food to arrive, and the staff didn’t seem particularly attentive throughout the visit. While the menu itself is diverse, there weren’t many options clearly marked or tailored for those with dietary restrictions, which could be challenging for some guests. Overall, it’s worth a visit for the view and a decent meal, but don’t expect exceptional service.
S E — Google review
Simply one of the best views for breakfast/lunch in Bar Harbor. The food is good and service is polite and attentive. I personally recommend the blueberry pancakes which were pretty good. The skillet on the other hand was a mixed experience as I didn’t realize the egg was a add on, it should just be part of the skillet and I’m sure everyone would be ok paying for it to be part of the dish, getting a breakfast skillet full of vegetables without eggs was a strange experience.

The service was great. The hostess, the waitress, and the gentleman that brought me coffee and water were all so friendly. I had an egg (was a little over done for my liking but still good) a pancake and potatoes all very delicious. The view was amazing. Highly recommend trying it.

We loved the view while eating our breakfast. While we ate, we watched the sand bar appear each morning, birds wheeling and gliding over Bar Island, and boats coming and going into the harbor. Nice variety of breakfast options at reasonable prices. Staff were very attentive, keeping my husband’s coffee cup full. We repeated our order for blueberry pancakes several mornings but all the food was cooked well and delicious.

We came here twice in our three nights in the area and loved all our choices. We tried the chocolate peanut butter ice cream on a warm chocolate chip cookie first then same ice cream in a waffle cone with cookies pieces and the warm blueberry pie with blueberry cheesecake ice cream. All was delicious.

This was really good ice cream. I had a frappe a.k.a. in New England milkshake it was really good. The wait time was a little long. The number is before me and after me got served before we did but that’s OK. They have benches. They have a bathroom next-door at the barbecue place, which is the same property. I assume this is handicap accessible, and they do accept credit cards. You order in one window and they call your number at the other window. There is plenty of parking. We got to the ice cream place walking from the campground behind it. I saw people driving up with their golf carts. Plenty of selection here. It’s probably the nearest milkshake you’ll get to the Bar Harbor campground if that’s what you’re looking for.

This shop is really generous with their portions, staff is friendly even before you give the tip, and the ice cream is great. The only slightly negative is that if you eat too much of the peanut butter than drive away, you might get nauseous, but I think that's just me. ::)

Allergy Friendly (Atleast Mostly)! That's a huge deal for people like me with a nut allergy. I definitely understand it's hard at ice cream shops. Most of the time I will just get soft serve or avoid them entirely. But they have signs up everywhere to ask and they have a procedure to try their best to keep you safe. The staff is friendly and quick. I appreciate the hell out of them trying to be nut friendly! Thank you so so so much! I got the Mana Maine and it was delicious!!

We were in Bar Harbor for five nights and were fortunate enough to try Udder Heaven ice cream the first night. We returned EVERY night! The dark chocolate was my favorite, but being the last week of the season it was gone after my first night. BUT I ended up loving the Lemon Gingersnap and Red Raspberry. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing on the last night of the season and had a great time cutting up with the staff and my "comically large" cone! If you're ever in Bar Harbor DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE!

My hubby and I were staying the Bar Harbor Campground next door to Udder Heaven so we stopped one night. It was fantastic and different than what we’ve had before. The great part was they have scoop and soft serve so we were each able to get our faves. I’m a medium twist cone and he had 2 scoops in a waffle cone. Make sure to check their hours before you stop. We tried a couple more times during our stay but they were closed.

I went in excited for a delicious sandwich…. As I was next in line and asking the owner for a recommendation, she cut me off to take orders outside. When she returned, I ordered a Turkey Rachel, which was served to me very quickly… because it wasn’t toasted! I paid $17 for a turkey sandwich that I barely ate. Wouldn’t go back.

Stopped in for a late lunch and ordered two 4 cheese sandwiches, one on white bread and one on a sub roll. The sandwiches are just average, the sub roll was a little stale and fell apart as I ate it, the cheese was fresh as was the lettuce and dressing. The box lunch comes with a small bag of chips in addition to the sandwich. Not a bad place for lunch, it's quick and easy, take-out only.

The food was fantastic! Great for something quick and on the go, and located next to the park which is a great spot for eating the food. The service was quick and amazing. I got the hot buttered lobster roll and the meat was so fresh, not fishy or chewy at all.

Downeast Deli is a small deli that packs a big punch at a great price! It was recommended to try this place, and it delivered. It is a small deli on a main street with a lot of foot traffic. The interior is small, without any seating. We placed our order and were asked to wait outside where they delivered it to us. We tried their lobster rolls. They were significantly cheaper than other locations around Bar Harbor, and they were tasty and fresh. The lobster rolls were the cheapest we found in all of Maine, and were almost $10 cheaper than anywhere in Bar Harbor. They were made to order and wrapped in very high quality paper. Although they were cheaper, they were still tasty and high quality. They were also LOADED with meat. My mouth is watering just thinking about them... Other locals suggested we try their clam chowder, but we sadly ran out of time.

We stopped by here to grab lunch sandwiches for our long drive back home. The guy who helped us was nice and service was super fast. My husband got a roast beef sandwich and I ordered turkey with provolone, lettuce, with mayo and mustard. We didn’t expect anything amazing, but had a feeling things would taste fresh. My turkey sandwich was probably the best I’ve had in a while. It was fresh and so yummy. Perfect lunch, worth the price.

We ordered their After Thanksgiving Dinner sandwich and it’s delicious! Loaded with turkey, stuffing, cheese and cranberry sauce. Can’t wait to be a return customer!

Awesome small sandwich shop with awesome friendly, quick service. I live in a resort area so I know the challenges associated with running a small business who rely on tourist dollars and the lure of making a buck before the season ends, but Down East Deli's focus on great customer service, good food, and affordable pricing breaks away from the tourist trap mould. Even if they charged a few dollars more, they would be worth the price and still be cheaper than other nearby establishments. Great job!

When I say that Christian (and his team, John, Michelle, and others) went above and beyond for our small wedding celebration last weekend, I mean it. From separate passed appetizer plates prepared for the bride and groom to ensure we had bites of everything, to supplementing our decorations with their own candles and fresh cut flowers, it seemed like they could read our minds with what we wanted and what we needed. When the night got cold, Christian pushed out hot apple cider for guests, and John made fresh French press decaf coffee for two guests (even bringing out his own roasted beans as a take-home gift for them). Blankets provided by Sweet Pea’s were a huge hit with guests, and were used all night long. Communication leading up to the event (and during the event) was so easy. We dropped decorations off to Sweet Pea’s the day prior to the event; it was arranged perfectly and even organized for an easy take home after. During our event, servers made sure to introduce themselves to our one gluten free guest who got multiple separate appetizers (something we didn’t ask for, but was just *done*), and she remarked that this was the best wedding reception/dinner she had ever been to. Not to mention, our food was incredible and guests raved all night long. When our guests ended the night tipsier than expected, Christian was quick to offer his catering van to bring guests back to our cottages down the road and insisted they could simply grab their cars the next day. I cannot recommend Sweet Pea’s enough, and if I could give six stars I would. Thank you guys for the perfect end to a perfect wedding day!

We loved the food & vibes here so much we ate here twice during our vacation. The food was delicious, the cocktails were incredible and the ambience + service were impeccable. It felt like dining in a whimsical, fairy garden. Bonus points for the water bowl & love to our Golden’s who were along on the trip with us. We tried two different pizzas, the caesar salad with grilled chicken, scallops and oysters and all were 10/10.

YUM! After a long day of hiking in Acadia we stumbled upon Sweet Peas. This place is a little hidden gem right outside of Bar Harbor. Fresh farm to table food located on a beautiful property. We shared a special appetizer that was the freshest tomatoes i’ve ever had. We also had the chickpeas and Plancho Potatoes. Both of which were incredible. However, the star of the show was “The Plowman” pizza. So fresh and the sauce they put in the middle of the pizza is delicious to dip your pizza crust in. The staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations. The one thing we are sad about is we can’t have this place whenever we want:/ We have been home now for several days and still bringing this food up and how amazing it was.

Had one of the best Cesar salads of my life here!! Weird thing to have loved so much, I know, but was truly spectacular. We also had the pepperoni pizza, beets, potatoes, and basque cheesecake - all of which were so so good. Our server was also very nice and helpful. Will definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

I was a bridesmaid (and actually the florist too) at this Sunday's wedding at Sweet Pea's and I cannot say enough praise about this venue! Christian, Tish, La, and the rest of the team was friendly, organized, and professional. The flow of the evening was perfect and everything made sense from a guest's perspective. Gourmet, individualized delicious pizza pies just kept appearing at our table at every glance. The Mediterranean appetizer board was so yummy as well! I have been there once before just for dinner, and I would highly recommend. Casual, but beautiful setting and thoughtful service and food!

This is such a special spot! We started with drinks - the watermelon mojito was crisp and refreshing, and the jalapeño cocktail was unique with just the right kick. For food, the daily pizza with an olive oil and garlic base (not even on the menu) blew us away, while the Harvest Pizza and plancha potatoes were equally delicious. What really makes Sweet Pea’s Farm Kitchen special is the atmosphere and their specials of the day. Dining right on the farm with such beautiful surroundings felt warm and rustic, and we even got to stroll around the grounds after. Amazing food, creative drinks, and a gorgeous setting, highly recommend!

We arrived at the cafe just before 5 and were seated right away. When we left there was a line - this cafe is just lovely. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. I recommend outdoor seating because it is so pretty, with gardens and flowers adjacent to the outdoor seating. The food tasted as fresh as can be. We ordered several appetizers and pizzas. Everything was delicious, including the Lavender Collins I tried! Highly recommend!

Lompoc Cafe is a laid-back and unpretentious backstreet hangout located on a downtown street. The cafe offers a leafy patio with a bocce court, where patrons can enjoy an inventive bar menu. The spot is known for its cozy and friendly atmosphere, offering a diminutive yet diverse menu that includes signature dishes like seared scallops with Korean barbecue sauce, falafel plate, and house-made peanut sauce with pita bread.
Cute little cafe just off the town square of bar Harbor offering a little bit of something for everyone. A few vegan options - not many but the tofu Banh Mi, Falafel Wrap, Fries, and Peanut Tofu triangles are all vegan. I had the Banh Mi and appreciated the staffs understanding of what was and wasn't vegan, and did a great job of explaining what substitutions would make each dish vegan. Awesome cocktail/cocktail selection too!

Wow! Absolutely loved the food and mocktails at Lompoc. Everything was incredibly tasty and the soup was incredible. Wish I lived closer so I could come back regularly! The service was great as well! If you want a truly delicious meal with flavor and thought this is the place to go.

Incredible meal start to finish! Fabulous cocktails, delicious mussels with a Dijon cream sauce (get the fries to dip in it, trust me), unreal shish kebab plate with dill potato salad…. Salad with fried chicken is a standout too! Lovely, casual atmosphere and great service. We will be back during our week stay. Great bar and backyard as well. Can’t recommend enough.

I was looking for dinner on a busy Saturday evening in October. Most of the restaurants on the main road looked packed and had long waits. This place is tucked away on a side road, and still had a little crowd, but I walked right in and got a table around 5:45pm; it was full by the time I left though. They had a decent menu with some local seafood options. I went with the spicy dijon mussels and root vegetable salad (no entree), and I was very happy with both. Both had good portions. The salad was refreshing and not boring at all. The mussels were swimming in some delicious juices (and came with plenty good bread to soak it up), and they were defintely fresher than the mussels I'm accustomed to getting in the midwest. They have a bar and good variety on the drink menu if that interests you. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I got pretty good service.. no complaints! I'd be happy to come back!

Such a great experience! The Bang Bang Chicken was so good, and we loved that we could customize the tofu banh mi as a wrap , it turned out absolutely delicious. The only thing that fell a little short was the falafel wrap, which was a bit dry. But overall, this place is highly recommended. The warm, friendly service from the waitress and the welcoming vibe from everyone really enhanced our dining experience.

Pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! Also really enjoyed sitting out in the garden patio. Highly recommend - and very reasonably priced compared to other nearby restaurants without sacrificing quality.

Great food and service in Bar Harbor. We had the meatloaf and the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. This is a gem in Bar Harbor and we will definitely come back on our next visit to Bar Harvesting.
Nathan C — Google review
Service was excellent, waiters were nice and friendly. Food was very mid, meat had too many herbs, salad was very sour and chicken in it was too peppery. Additionally, even though the restaurant wasn't full at all we had to wait for about 30 minutes before we got our food. Portions were small, especially for the price. Talking about the atmosphere and vibe - to me it was slightly too dark. For some it would seem romantic, to me, I almost fell asleep. Overall, I would not come here again.

Reel Pizza Cinerama is a unique single-screen movie house located in downtown Bar Harbor, near the village green. It has been a popular spot for both locals and tourists for over two decades. The cinema offers a cozy setting with mismatched couches and counter seats where patrons can enjoy hand-tossed pizza with an extensive selection of toppings, including vegan and gluten-free options.
We had cold, rainy weather while in Bar Harbor and a restaurant waiter recommended we check out Reel Pizza for a rainy day activity. He said it can’t quite be described, and that you just have to experience it yourself. He was right! Such a cool place! We had never experienced a theatre like this set up with actual couched and diner-like counters between each row of seats. The pizza was actually pretty good and the seats were comfortable. They provide a 7 minute intermission halfway through the movie which was nice to get popcorn and use the bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed or indoor activity while visiting Bar Harbor/ Acadia National Park! Most affordable meal in town!

One of the coolest theaters I’ve been to in a long time. Really pleasant and fun. At only eight dollars, seeing first run films is affordable. Pizza was pretty tasty too!
Daniel G — Google review
Possibly my favorite movie theater ever? The pizza is phenomenal, the theater is cozy, you get an intermission to run to the bathroom, and I can get a pitcher of diet pepsi for only $7, what more could you need? Not to mention, the movie tickets are extremely cheap for today's economy. I literally come here to see movies I have no interest in just for the vibes. Also, the staff members are always so pleasant and helpful!

The pizza crew was excellent! We only had a few minutes before our bus. They made some pizzas quickly, gave us popcorn, and they were so friendly! The vibe is awesome! Comfy couches. Bummed we were in a hurry, would love to have stayed and enjoyed the theater.

I LOVE IT HERE!!!!! Staff are soooo cool and Colin the owner is a wonderful person! If you like movie theaters then this place is an absolute must if you are visiting, they have COUCHES!!!!! Middle left side couch in theater two is the most comfy in my opinion. Also the pizza is actually fantastic and super duper well priced for a tourist town. Same goes for movie tickets. Love it herrrrrrrrrrre omg

We stopped here for dinner one night on our visit to Bar Harbor. Didn’t visit the cinema but we sat outside with our dogs to enjoy the pizza and it was delicious! They have a parking lot right next to it and the staff were all friendly.

This is a GREAT little theater with really excellent food. Everything was really reasonably priced and the pizza was really good. You can’t go wrong here if they’re showing a movie you want to see.

Maybe the best attraction in Bar Harbor You may have one of these in your home town, but we don't. A nice little movie theater, but there are couches with TV trays, and then the regular Cinema seats have every other row removed with counters in front of the seats. So you can order pizza right there, and eat it during the movie, just like you were at home. And the pizza was pretty darn good, too!

Pat's Pizza is a great place to go for pizza and other comfort food in a casual setting. They have outdoor seating, a bar, and regular TV sports coverage. The crust was the standout here - it was crispy and delicious with great cheese and sauce.
Stopped in for a lunch snack. The bbq chicken nachos were delicious. Really good bbq sauce, had onions and green peppers which was a nice touch. Need to go back and try the pizza.

We stopped in for some pizza & wings around lunchtime on a Monday - the place was fairly empty but we sat right away & got waters. We ordered buffalo wings & a large margherita pizza. Wings definitely needed more sauce, very dry on the outside but still decent inside. The pizza was disappointing, not cooked long enough, very chewy and doughy. No crisp to the crust at all & it was definitely not a margherita pizza as you can see from my photos. We did finish our meal but won’t be back. Cook the pizza longer and use mozzarella cheese and fresh basil for the pizza. Wondering if we just got them on a bad day or what considering the other 5 star reviews but wanted to be honest with our experience!

I love Pat's Pizza! Not only is the food great but the owners and employees are wonderful too. Don't miss Pat's Pizza when you are in Bar Harbor and Acadia. They can do large orders too, ask for Jason and Georgia. We planned a rehearsal dinner from out of state and then had it at Schoodic Institute and hour away. They made the process so easy, I just can't say enough about them.

Food, drinks, service, atmosphere - ALL 1000/10!!!! The pizza is delicious but the curry goat is AMAZING. Nothing here is disappointing. Super friendly and welcoming service, there is a pool table downstairs so it’s a very relaxed and happy vibe. Love the reggae music. We’re from Indiana but we would drive all the way back to Maine just for this restaurant alone. We’ll be back!

The pizza was pretty good, no crust on the bottom but the toppings are pretty good. We ordered takeout, and it was pretty clear to us they didn't start cooking anything until we got there (about 5 minutes past the estimated time we were told over the phone while ordering). It wouldn't have been so frustrating, but the only person working the entire shop kept telling us we were "almost" ready for 15 minutes. We also found it to be very hot in the restaurant, they have AC units but all were off. This is probably the best pizza in the area but that's not saying much, and we were glad we ordered takeout so we didn't have to eat hot pizza in a hot restaurant on a hot day.

Despite its low price point, the food was one of the best restaurants in Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the sausage pizza, Caribbean jerk chicken salad, spaghetti with meatballs and a generous 8 oz hamburger with cheddar and bacon. The service was great, professional and polite. We ended up going there 3 times. Especially after whole days hiking and biking. This is a great Italian restaurant with a Caribbean twist.

Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes is a must-visit destination for seafood lovers, especially those craving the quintessential Downeast lobster bake experience. Here, you can witness your meal being prepared right before your eyes in a large stainless steel cooker, where succulent lobsters are paired with potatoes and corn-on-the-cob. This interactive cooking method allows guests to engage with the process and learn about lobster fishing while enjoying their meal.
We stopped here for lunch during a day of exploring Acadia with my family, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! The food, service, and stunning views of the bay were absolutely fantastic. I had one of the best lobster rolls and potato salads I’ve ever eaten—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We loved it so much that we came back for dinner the same day, and the experience was equally amazing. This place truly delivers on every level and is a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Very expensive for unimpressive food. Lobster on nachos and Mac n cheese was tough and rubbery and difficult to chew. Nachos didn't have much cheese either. Lobster grilled cheese was decent. Clam chowder was good. Pretty much average food for a lot of money. It was our most expensive meal while in Maine... and this was a very casual establishment! Friendly service though.
Stephanie K — Google review
Found this little gem for lunch when Bar Harbor was way too busy and we happened to drive by on our way away from downtown. The food was fabulous as was the staff. We enjoyed a lunch special of 2 smaller lobsters (under 1.5 lbs each) for a fabulous price. My husband and I paired it with a salad (also fantastic) and shared, we were hungry so I didnt take pics. We sat outside with great views of the water. Tried a blueberry cocktail which was terrific. We loved it so much we came back for dinner, got a bowl of lobster bisque to share, lobster rolls and a side of their street corn dip. All was super yummy. The owner waited on us at lunch, she was super friendly and we made sure to tell her how impressed we were at dinner when we came back. The place is super clean, fresh and bright. We would probably eat there another time but the owner said she was going to be closed tomorrow as she was hosting several tour bus groups the next day, she didn't want anyone waiting or leaving with a bad experience, so she was closing to the public. Almost forgot, the fabulous blueberry cake and blueberry pie (all homemade)! Definitely would recommend this place!

We ate here on our last day in Maine, and it was the perfect ending to our trip! The service was top-notch, our server was funny, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Every single dish from start to finish was realllyyyyy tasty! The lobster was fresh and perfectly cooked, the sweet corn on the cob was amazing, and the mussels were spot-on. My daughter, who usually doesn’t even like clam chowder, devoured it, that says a lot! And don’t even think about skipping dessert. The blueberry pie with blueberry ice cream combo was out of this world, it literally melts in your mouth. Plus the beautiful view of the cove.❤️ Hands down, one of the best restaurants we went to in Maine. Definitely worth a full 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Bar Harbor Lobster Bakes was our very first stop after a long day’s drive from the White Mountains, and honestly, it set the tone for our whole Maine adventure. Even the wind tried to crash our dinner, but the food more than made up for it. We started with the lobster bisque, which my husband took very seriously — he ordered bisque everywhere we went in Maine and appointed himself an unofficial judge. Verdict here? Top contender. The lobster tail was fresh, buttery perfection, and that sweet corn on the cob might’ve been the best I’ve ever had (sorry, Midwest). Our server was an absolute gem — friendly, funny, and full of great tips. She even told us to check out the beach across the street, where I found my very first piece of sea glass. Bottom line: great food, lovely people, and a seaside charm that makes you forget the wind’s trying to steal your napkin.

Abel's Lobster is a seasonal lobster and clam house offering casual dining with waterfront seating on a natural fjord. Situated on a nub extending into Somes Sound, it buzzes with activity during summer nights as patrons enjoy drinks from the outside bar while kids and dogs play around. The open-air kitchen allows guests to watch lobsters being cooked before enjoying them at tables set across the sloping lawn. The mid-century wood-walled dining room provides picturesque views from every table.
We have been going to Southwest Harbor for many years, but had never tried Abel's. We are so glad we did - we even went back a second time during our trip! The setting is lovely and the service is very friendly. Upscale food, no tourist rip-offs. The fried clams were excellent, as were the hand-cut fries. The salads were also a stand out with fresh local vegetables. Highly recommended!

Be prepared to wait - arrived around 6:30 on a Wednesday with a group of 6. Waited around an hour for a table. They have an outdoor bar and high top seating where you can grab a drink and play corn hole while you wait. Beautiful harbor - great place to watch a sunset while enjoying a meal. Check out the yacht yard adjacent to the restaurant - cool boats. Service was helpful and friendly. Our group liked our food - highlights were the corn bread (a must try!!) lobster Mac and cheese and wedge salad. Recommend this restaurant but be cautious of the weather as most seating is outdoors and it started the rain as we paid our bill which caused all guests to try to huddle indoors which was a little bit of a mess / crowded. Make sure you’re visiting on a clear night, or opt for indoor seating if rain is in the forecast!
Kristina I — Google review
This WAS one of my favorite lobster pounds in the Bar Harbor area. The location on the water with sunset views and an outdoor bar, seating, games, and fireplace creates an unmatched ambience. Usually there is a wait at dinner time, especially for indoor seating. Food this year was eh. Oysters were smaller than in prior years. Lobster roll was not good. The bun is too big and too toasted. Fries were also not good. The curry the mussels were in was incredible, and the cornbread and chowder were also excellent. But I was disappointed the quality of the lobster roll was so poor this year, given it’s a lobster pound. I would absolutely come here for the ambience but I will now be going to other lobster pounds if I want a good lobster roll.

We tried Abel’s based on a google search and it did not disappoint. We sat outside on the little bar looking over the harbor. A spot I highly recommend as the view was beautiful and the seats were shaded. Stopped in for a late lunch/ early dinner in September and there was no wait. The fries were terrific. We actually ordered a second round for dessert. Of course we had the soft shell lobster -YUM. We could not leave Maine without a lobster meal. This is a spot you cannot skip while in Acadia.

Dinner here was one of our best memories from our Maine vacation in July! We didn't have reservations, but were seated quickly at this counter that faced the dining room and the water. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food - particularly the fish and chips were absolutely delicious. Perfectly crispy - they struck the right balance with a nice crunchy batter and a moist tender fish inside. Accompanying fries were also very good. The salad was fine. I wish we had been there longer than just a few days; I would very much like to have had a chance to return and try more of the yummy looking menu items and sit outside for a meal. Highly recommend.

Such a fun place to eat seafood! The vibes are so warm, friendly and casual while still being really high-quality food. The lobster rolls are good here, though I personally prefer the crab rolls. Sooo much crab meat and so little anything else! Heavenly. Our waitress, Di, was so much fun, I made the whole dining experience a joy for us. She also gave us some really good recommendations off the menu! (The brussels sprouts are so delightful. You barely know their brussels sprouts…) It was dark when we had dinner here, so I would definitely go back to enjoy the incredible view — if you go in the summer, absolutely dine outside!

Had a wonderful Memorial Day Dinner at Abel’s Lobster this weekend! What a great restaurant and experience. We showed up at 4:45 (opened at 4:30) and were able to get an outside seat with a nice view of the water. A woman in front of us recommended the mussels and she was right, they rocked! Our waitress Rachel was awesome and provided great service. She had good suggestions and timed our courses perfectly! 10/10 would recommend for a nice date night or dinner while visiting Acadia and or the Mount Desert Island area. In the charming town of Bar Harbor, New England, there's a delightful ice cream parlor called Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium that is a must-visit for any ice cream enthusiast. This family-owned shop offers over 50 flavors to choose from, including unique options like Wild Blueberry and even Lobster. Their waffle cones are particularly praised for their excellence. In addition to their delectable ice cream, they also make their own candies and chocolates on-site.
Well worth a stop at this restaurant for an ice cream on a warm summer afternoon! They have such unique and creative flavours. We tried a large cup which comes with 4 different flavours - moose droppings and chooey gooey were so good! There are many benches to sit outside and have the ice cream.

Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium is a must-stop! On my first round of ice cream I went a little too chocolate-heavy with “Moose Droppings,” but I had to come back and try the Peanut Butter Cup — and that did not disappoint! With so many flavors and options, you could spend all day deciding. The atmosphere is super fun, and with so many staff working, even with a line they keep things moving quickly so you’re on your way with a sweet treat in no time.

The ice cream is good, in fact it is HUGE portions with some of the most unique flavors I’ve ever seen in my entire world travels. The portions are pretty huge be careful. The staff don’t know much English so be sure on what item you want. By the way the lobster flavor is just buttery vanilla — I will not find into the hype, but I would rather buy into the blueberry hype, which was super delicious!
Arthur T — Google review
Delicious and unique flavors of ice cream and really good waffle bowls. It is clearly a popular place as it was very crowded the evening we were there the week after the 4th of July. Very expensive, however. Two kiddie sized scoops in waffle bowls came to almost $30, including a $1 upcharge for the whipped cream. As good it was, it wasn't a repeat for us for that price.
Jackie A — Google review
I recently tried Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium in Bar Harbor and was pretty disappointed with my pistachio ice cream. For $14, I expected a lot more, unfortunately, it seriously lacked real pistachio flavor and tasted mostly of artificial essence and coloring. The texture wasn't creamy or natural, and the flavor just didn’t compare to others I've had. The value for the price was especially poor, considering other local shops offer better options for less. I wouldn’t recommend the pistachio here and probably wouldn’t go back unless they improve the taste and ingredients.

The customer service is so friendly, patient, and helpful! This is a must!!! ❤️

Pros 1. Huge variety of sweet treats from every kind of fudge flavor you can think of, tins of chocolates, gelato, hand-scooped ice cream, milk-chocolate and dark-chocolate covered strawberries and blueberries, and Swedish candy. 2. They have a flow to manage the congestion the best they can. 3. The flavors are unique. It seems that most things are made in the house. Very good quality ice cream and gelato. Cons 4. I paid $28 for 3 cones (2 scoops each)-a bit expensive but I guess I'm a captive audience in a tourist trap. 5. It's so congested that they don't allow you to try ice cream samples after 7 PM. 6. It's also so congested you can't look at what's in each ice cream flavor. You can read the options on the board, but you can't see the display case that gives you the ingredients for each making it difficult to understand what you're getting, So I inadvertently ordered an ice cream I didn't really want.

The eatery prides itself on serving up flavorful, honest Maine foods year-round, including from-scratch prepared meals, fresh oysters, sustainable seafood, local cheeses, and homemade desserts.
Loved our experience in Peekytoe! The menu is broad and gives a lot of options. We tried oysters, salmon, shrimp tacos and crab Berger. All were yummy. Lobster roll was ok. Portions are smaller than we are used too and this was mine and my family’s only complaint. Servers were sweet and responsive to our questions.

Tldr: just okay. Nothing special. Good for brunch. We got the pulled pork tacos, the breaded haddock tacos, the lobster bisque, and the features of the day. Overall, the food was ok but was unevenly seasoned. The bisque was quite salty while the feature fish did not have much taste. Both tacos had contrasting flavors that was not to our taste. Had a little bit trouble finding parking. No other issues.

Absolutely outstanding experience! We sat at the bar with Rory. She was so friendly and knowledgable about the menu. She was helped guide us through the menu with her personable favorites. The host who sat us have us a great recommendation of the baked brie and it did not disappoint! The oysters were fantastic and so fresh. We sampled all the varieties they had in stock. Each has one unique, but the unicorn was our favorite. We also had the clam chowder and Jonah crab roll. Both were amazing. If you want outstanding service and incredible food, you need to go here. Everyone that worked there was smiling and friendly. Bonus: they have a small seafood market on the side. Even though we were stuffed, we took bluefin tuna home with us.

This was our last dinner in Bar Harbor during our vacation the 1st week of July. And it was a phenomenal experience! We made a last-minute and later in the evening decision to stop here for dinner. There were no tables available and I stead of waiting for one we opted to eat at the bar. The bartender was very nice about the fact we don't drink. The restaurant itself was packed on a Thursday night with diners eating inside and out. As it was our last night, we were in no rush to eat. The clam chowder was very good; more of a broth than cream base but yummy nonetheless. I ordered the haddock sandwich and found it delicious. It had a panko breading that was light but crunchy. Hubby chose the lazy lobster. Decent sized portion and tasty. I sampled the sweet potatoes, too, and they were sone of the best I have had. The bartender said they order a special kind that accounts for the flavor. Finally, the smoked ricotta chocolate Mousse. I had my doubts, but I absolutely fell in love. Trust the chef; if you love chocolate, you will love this. Overall, an outstanding final dinner of a wonderful vacation. If we are back in the area, we will return. Highly recommend.

I used to genuinely love this place but that was back before the remodel/rebrand. Back then it felt more authentic, casual, and cozy to the everyday person. The food was always good the place was always busy, and the staff was super connected to the restaurant. Now the first time for us coming back since the remodel/rebrand our waitress left dead in the middle of waiting on us, no “I’m sorry my shift is over but so and so will be taking care of you” the waitress who took over had no clue about the how the place was or even knew that there was a store front to it. While she was nice she never came to check on us or offer refills on our water and other drinks. My favorite thing there the Smoker Seafood Chowder which is one of my favorite things to eat in this town was so off. It was broken and overly salty, the blackened haddock sandwich I got was super salty and had almost no spice to it as a proper blackened sandwich should. My son’s salmon Rueben panini had little to no coleslaw/kraut on it and the dressing was overpowering to the point it seemed as though there was no salmon on it because it was so thin sliced. My other son however LOVED his lobster roll(he’s a bit of a connoisseur if you will) and my wife really enjoyed her salad and curry crab soup. Overall now I have to give this place a 3-3.5 stars as the atmosphere now seems to be geared more towards the “upscale” clientele rather than the local or “normal” tourist. It’s lost its charm and seems that some of the food quality has gone down a bit in the process. With so many options in and around Bar Harbor I’m not sure that we will rush back here next year when we are in town.

Food was excellent!! We had the Haddock tacos with chips and fruit salsa and the BLT with kettle chips. The tomatoes were grilled and the sauce was yummy (did have a little kick in case you're not used to that). The blueberry pie was delicious and the whipped cream was creamy not sweet. Wonderful. We called in the order for carry out and the staff was confused. I almost walked out with just a bag of chips and a piece of blueberry pie. I had to be totaled out twice and still needed to double check the order. Don't know what inside service is like but make sure to double check carry out. It all worked out in the end.

This was a great spot for food and good vibes. The hot lobster roll was delicious. The standout meal item was the smoked fish chowder! All the food was so good that I was only able to document the oysters. Service was helpful and super friendly!

We enjoyed our dinner so much, we went for lunch the next day. A real Bar Harbor find!! Reasonable prices, exceptional variety and friendly service. Halibut spring rolls, branzani, salmon and chowder were very tasty. Highly recommend!

Bistro
Restaurant
Mache Bistro, located at 321 Main Street, is a charming and intimate restaurant owned by Chef Kyle Yarborough and his wife Marie. The bistro offers a simple yet sophisticated French dining experience with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. Chef Yarborough's daily-changing menu features traditional French cuisine with Mediterranean influences, offering dishes like hanger steak, duck confit, Atlantic scallops, and lamb shanks.
When you get tired of lobster and fried clams. Mache Bistro is the real deal. Everything we have ordered has been succulent and delish. Beginning with our pate, and white anchovy bruschetta, followed by our beet salad and eggplant with mojo, then the duck leg Confit and my salmon. Wonderful experience and so happy I chose the restaurant and not my husband. And for the perfect ending, the fruit crisp. NO WORDS. And the service was exceptional.

Decent food/service, but doesn't particularly stand out with the other great restaurants in the area. Also, the strict cancellation policy isn't really helpful.

We visited here while in Bar Harbor, and it was the BEST meal we had throughout all of our travels in New England. The service was great, and the food was delicious. Healthy, savory dishes that are beautifully prepared. I highly recommend this for a great date night :)

If you want the Bar Harbor experience of a plastic bib and steamed lobster, go elsewhere. If you want a great gourmet experience, great service and a good atmosphere, this is your place. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and it was nice to have an intimate dining experience in the midst of a tourist-y vacation. Just wonderful.

Food - great. The duck was cooked perfectly and the accompaniments were so good. The Strip Steak was also great, and the lobster-stuffed peppers were quite good. Decor - The paintings on the walls are not great. The vintage posters downstairs are a really nice touch, but upstairs feels a bit like eating in someone's art exhibition. Music - I'd say, stick to the jazz (NOT smooth jazz)... the playlist varied widely from smooth jazz to great, classic jazz. I would say that classic stuff (Miles David, Ella, Bill Evans, etc) is a better sound and a more universal choice, while smooth jazz is a much more particular (and annoying) taste. Great service and the food came out without a long wait. Bravo!

Went here for a birthday dinner, we sat upstairs in a cozy little area. I was a bit skeptical at first particularly because the menu wasn't extensive, but it was one of the best dinners we have had in ages. Everything came on in great time, cooked perfectly. Good wine list, and the service was spot on.

This chef knows what he is doing-fresh, wonderful ingredients and he knows what to do with them! Every bite and drop was just delightful. And, to top it off, our server, Elana, was just as good on her end of the evening! Was so great that we and our friends went back for our second and last night in Bar Harbor.

Totally overrated, I have no idea why people rate this so highly. Virtually no ambience, we looked around the restaurant whilst full and found every table almost barren, they had no table cloths, offered no bread, had no salt and pepper, just looked stark and had no warmth or comforting factors at all. Food was good but nothing that you wouldn't find in a nearby cafe. Maybe we had too high expectations, but at $180 for 2 of us I would expect a lot more. The service was good, but just didn't overcome the absolute lack of atmosphere and bonne vie. I didn't add any photos, because in all honesty the experience didn't rate any. And it was cold. Would it kill you to heat up the place before people arrived?
