Bar
Fistral Beach Bar, located on Headland Road in Newquay, has quickly become a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. With its beachfront terrace offering uninterrupted views of the famous surf beach, it's the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner while soaking in the stunning scenery. The bar offers a diverse menu featuring pizzas, burgers, nachos, sandwiches with vegan and vegetarian options available. Their full English breakfast is highly recommended by many.
Boardmasters Beach Bar is an absolute gem in a breathtaking location, offering stunning panoramic views over Fistral Beach. The view from the terrace is simply unforgettable – the perfect spot to soak in the beauty of the coast. Due to its popularity with both locals and tourists, there’s usually a short wait for a table on the terrace, but it’s always worth it. Adding to the charm of the place are the friendly birds that often stop by, making the experience even more unique. A must-visit when in the area!

I eat here whenever I visit Fistral Beach and although the menu doesn't have alot on it I feel there is at least one thing for everyone. Views from outdoor eating are great but sitting inside allows you to get away from the crowd.

Always lovely! So nice to sit outside with a bowl of chips and a nice cold drink. Staff always friendly!

Well let me tell ya! Amazing staff! Help full yet pub vibes so expect to diy. However, staff pretty helpful building custom drinks. Food simple yet delicious and well executed! Always the spot at Fistral. Nice prawn salad with grains! Local beer served too!

We held a memorial get together for a friend here recently. The manager, Charlie, was very accommodating and sorted everything at short notice despite wrestling with a new billing system. The sun shone and it was a lovely venue.

One of the best atmospheres to be in! When in Newquay, with an amazing view and a great choice of drink! Definitely one of my highlights in Newquay! Food was decent too!
Lleyton — Google review
Call in for an afternoon every year on holiday, expected a few changes with new owners. Menu was pants, who wants to eat weird food like that. Empty tables and very few people eating, we had one drink and left, you lost a lot money today. If you do eat you get attacked by Seagulls as no protection now. Staff quite miserable. We will not return. The food at the Fort was great. Nice staff great views and highly recommended.
Andy T — Google review
It’s a beach bar with incredible views, which offers half decent food. A single point for ordering good is a bit painful, but at least it keeps the queue away from the main bar. Perhaps QR codes at the table would be useful. I bet in the height of summer the queue is insane, but at the end of August it was manageable and got a table, on the edge with the best views.

Lusty Glaze Beach is a relaxed beach resort offering cottage and chalet lodging, event and wedding facilities, and outdoor activities. During the day, visitors can enjoy fireside coffee at the dreamy beach cafe, while at night they can experience The Cornish Chef's carefully curated menu with stunning sea views. The beach also hosts live music events such as the Sundowner Sessions featuring renowned artists like Newton Faulkner and Guy Garvey.
We swung by here for a drink and a pizza, parked at the top in the main car park and took the steps down. As per other reviews it’s a lot of steps so I’d encourage you do decide if that will be a problem for you before descending! The lady running the bar was very friendly, and our pizza was cooked very quickly. Hot and tasty, made for a great snack as we shared it mid-afternoon. A great place to spend time, recommend!
Gareth T — Google review
What a special place. Yes, there's a load of steps to navigate, drinks outside are in plastic cups, my beer was a bit flat but Lusty Glaze is so worth a visit. The look and feel of the place, the atmosphere, the superb staff, decent food, music etc, sets you up for a great time. The view over the ocean is stunning even if you're unlucky not to see dolphins or whales, which sometimes visit nearby. Parked in Lusty Glaze road and saved a few quid but plenty of parking options. You'll love it when you get there!

We attended an Ibiza Club Classics event and had THE BEST time! We've attended many events here and always been treated amazingly by the staff, experienced great bands and had delicious food. Would recommend 100%.

We went last night for the first time to watch Daisy Clark for the Sundowner Session. It's such a beautiful hide away. The weather wasn't the best but held off long enough for us to sit outside and enjoy the ambience. I will definitely return next summer.

Gorgeous beach with bar, restaurants and good toilets. We visited in September and were able to sit outside on sofas and listen to a DJ. excellent wood fired pizza and the staff were so lovely about our dog amazing view. Heaven on earth.
Bridgit D — Google review
This is one of our favourite beaches in Cornwall. We have been coming here for may years now. The steps down to the beach, and more importantly back up, are quite a workout, but it's well worth the effort. Just as a side note, the carpark is run by Just Park and is a whopping £15.20 per day to park. Just to add, on the day of our visit, there was no lifeguard on duty! In all the years we have been visiting, there has always been a lifeguard on the beach. The sign wasn't until you got down to the beach, so if it is something that is important to you, it might be worth checking before you pay for parking and wall down 133 steps!! Sorry, but the lack of lifeguard and cost of parking stops me from giving it 5 stars.
Darrell H — Google review
We were lucky enough as a family to stay at lusty glaze for 2 nights for a private wedding. It was one of the most beautiful settings ever seen. Separate from the wedding, the beach is beautiful and perfect for kids and dogs. You will not be disappointed.
Colin B — Google review
Got married there last week we love the place so much! And if my 83 year old mum who’s had a hip replacement can make it down and back up the steps, anyone can. Staff are brilliant, plenty of food options, couple of bars and stunning beach. We spent two nights in the beach cottage, which has fantastic views of the beach and sea, and with the beach not opening until 9am you can get up early and have the beach to yourself!

The Bowgie Inn is a popular local pub located on a dramatic clifftop, offering stunning views over the bay and the coastal path. The inn features a classic English menu with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, as well as treats for dogs at the bar. The sun terrace provides spectacular views over Pentire Bay, making it one of Cornwall's loveliest spots.
I know some people have mentioned only being able to order at the machine or a QR code but I loved it, no need to talk to anyone, no need to queue, sit at the table & order, Went here after a couple of hours walk, drinks served promptly & food was really good, literally couldn’t fault it & 100% would be back! Dog friendly outside but loads of seating outside & some of it is sheltered with a glass barrier so wasn’t cold at all.
Bradley R — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and clean environment. Love the order on your phone and card only payments. They provided colouring for kids and there is a grass area for kids or dogs to run around.
Jodie D — Google review
Had a really lovely meal here Saturday evening, 6th September, I chose the gammon and asked for it without the egg and a staff member came out and asked if I wanted pineapple instead which I really appreciated. The food was very nice although my partner said he wasn't too keen on the onion rings. It was a really lovely view and would have been nice to sit outside but it was too windy. Would definitely go back again next time we're in the area.
Harry E — Google review
Nice place. Friendly staff. Great views. Great alcohol free local beer. But who's idea was it to refuse to serve customers drinks at the bar and force them to use the same awful touchscreen ordering machines the have in McDonalds. After a long hike I was made to traipse back outside to get my table number then wade through the awful on screen menu. What a shame because otherwise it was fab.
James H — Google review
3/5 – Great view, but the experience was a bit flat (like the Rattler!) Popped into the Bowgie Inn in July, stunning location with beautiful views, no doubt about that. The food was average for the price, and ordering was a bit impersonal with a McDonald’s-style self-service screen. I even ended up helping an elderly visitor just to get a drink, not exactly the warm Cornish service you’d expect. I ordered a Healey’s Rattler, but what I got was more of a flattler. I asked for a replacement, which they did provide (with a touch more fizz), but I was told no one else had complained. Probably because they’re all on holiday and I’m a local who knows how it should taste. Eventually, I was told there had been a dodgy batch from the supplier. I thought it was gas added at the pub, either way, should a bad batch really be served? Also worth noting, while advertised as being “open late,” they were calling last orders at 8pm for food and 8.30pm for drinks – before the sun had even set. All in all – go for the view, not the vibes.

This restaurant has amazing food and amazing views looking out over the sea in Cornwall. After a day on the beach in Crantock this is a gorgeous restaurant to finish the day at. It has food to cater for all tastes good quality Cornish beer and a good selection of wines. Staff are friendly and approachable. Best days to go here are a nice warm sunny day so you can eat outside on the terrace

Nestled atop the stunning Porth Beach, The Mermaid Inn is a delightful beachfront eatery that offers a diverse menu featuring both local and international dishes. With its inviting outdoor terrace, guests can bask in the sun while enjoying breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The tables even extend onto the sandy beach, making it an ideal spot for those who love to feel the sand between their toes—plus, it's dog-friendly!
A lovely pub situated right on Porth Beach with a stunning outdoor seating area. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and made me smile on a day I needed it. They have a good selection of drinks and the food is lovely. Couldn’t ask for more on a sun day. Would recommend a visit if you’re in the area. Not too busy out of season but imagine it’s very popular in the summer.
Josh — Google review
Great pub on Porth Beach. Outside terrace overlooking the beach has overhead netting to stop seagulls pinching your food that works well. Good, solid pub grub with some specials, good choice of beers including 2 cask ales
Tony C — Google review
We ordered fish and chips, which were fresh and delicious. The service was very friendly. Despite the large crowd, we didn't have to wait long for our meals. I recommend it.
Aleksandra F — Google review
Dog friendly bar, friendly staff. Would highly recommend the pub quiz on a Wednesday night, the lady is hilarious! Didn't get food only drinks. A great view out the back, right on the beach!
Julia J — Google review
Dog friendly pub with stunning views right on the beach. The staff were extremely helpful, chatty and friendly. The food was brilliant both on the Saturday and on the Sunday for the roast also. Catered for our frenchie too with a lovely sausage. Will definitely be returning next year. Thanks to all the staff
Shane F — Google review
Need to break this down a bit. Watching the sunset from here is definitely worth the trip. Your all but sat on the beach in a huge beer garden, meaning it gets and stays very busy pretty much all day. Our food was lovely when it arrived, however we waited over two hours to finally have it. Yes it was busy, but whenever we enquired about how long it might be etc, nobody could tell us and it took the gloss of things a bit. Parking is a bit tight here due to the beach being so popular
AlexDreamer — Google review
Staying at a nearby holiday park we visited The Mermaid Inn twice during our week long holiday. The food is great, good portions, well priced pub grub - the scampi is lovely. But the staff are best of all. Both times they were helpful and friendly even when extremely busy. My daughter has autism and finds busy places really overwhelming. The 2nd time we came it was pretty packed. The staff were so kind letting us sit and eat in the front bar which was closed when we arrived. It made such a difference, she ate and we didn't feel we had to rush. Thank you so much!
Kerry S — Google review
This place is a complete embrasment to Cornwall situated opposite an excellent holiday and touring caravan park and an excellent beach. The food is awful the toilets are filthy we just can not believe the state of the place on such a prime site We did actually visit twice the first time was a Sunday and they had very few items available on the menu or special board the following visit was on Wednesday and it was even worse No Steak, Fish, Gammon, Mussels,Steak and Ale Pie,even no Peas these are just a few things missing We managed to put together an order for food, which, when it arrived was absolutely awful we love and look forward to our visit to Porth beach but we do not self cater every night but due to the lack of confidence in the two local bar reasturants. we feel that we now need to find another holiday park with a good standard of reasturants and a good clean pub nearby Please take a look at the attached picture of burger egg and chips

It's an ideal place for sports enthusiasts with its complete sports TV package, 13 big screen TVs, and a large HD projector.
Visited here at lunch time and had some amazing food with beautiful views! Service was excellent, easy to order and came quickly. We sat outside which unfortunately attracted some seagulls, but of course can’t be helped.

Great view from the booths inside into the bay. Too windy to sit on the outside terrace with sea goews but would be great in nice weather. The courtyard was protected with plenty of people sat out on a dry sunny day. Drinks would be great value 4pm-8pm, we were too early to take advantage of the offer. Service was great. Food was good.

great atmosphere with multiple tv screens offering different programs, you can order via the website or traditionally on site, sit inside or outside with views of the beach and heating units for the evening. food arrives fast and tastes great as well
Daniel U — Google review
This was our second highly anticipated visit and what a let down it was. On arrival no one welcome us, so after waiting around we decided to find ourselves a table. We then asked the waitress if we can choose this table and she said yes no problem she’ll be back to clear the rest of the table as she took the plates away. We stood around for near on 10 minutes waiting, until my partner decided to clear the rest of the table, wipe the table down and clean the floor of food as we had our dog with us. It wasn’t table service so we went to the bar and ordered. We were not made aware of the 241 cocktail deal so we had paid full price and only received 1 cocktail, to which we realised this on departure. When our food arrived, the same waitress brought it out who was on the phone. No recognition of us sorting the table ourselves. The food was as good as we remembered. We had a lovely sea view, however the music did not need to be as loud as it was and unfortunately the service was diabolical. Great burgers but not great service.

Amazing view ! Lovely staff! Food was unreal! Will definitely be back 🙏🏻 Highly recommend the Philly cheesesteak 🤤

Portion size and price are great. Also have seating with lovely views and really nice atmosphere. Went for lunch but also looks like a really fun place for evening drinks. Got the chicken Cesar salad which although is in the lighter bite section was a pretty big portion and delicious! My partner had the vegan quesadillas and chips which were also really good. Recommend this restaurant.
Woody — Google review
I'd say it's a venue for teens, very sticky floor with a strong smell of spilt liqueur. Didn't try the food as it was not a location I wanted too. They do some amazing deals like unlimited hot wings and great prices on drinks in happy hour, great friendly staff. Just not for me. Bonus is they're dog friendly
C K — Google review
Booked a table for birthday meal, on arrival no one around to serve at the bar when someone eventually came to the bar said oh I haven't started work yet I can't help you, we said well we have a booking so he told us what table to go to, did not show us there!! We walked over and the table was not cleaned still had food droppings all over it not what I would call a great experience, Online food order doesn't have kids menu so had to go bar again 2 staff standing talking not even acknowledging I'm waiting very very poor customer service after they finished their chat the girl did say thank you for waiting but there was no need for the wait!! Food came out I must say the burgers were really nice very tasty they were pretty much thrown at us may I had but chips were cold, we finished up and left, only plus point was burgers were good and the views fantastic staff let this place down We are not holiday makers either we live in Cornwall

Located at 27A East Street, Newquay, TR7 1DN, Tom Thumb is a renowned cocktail bar known for its bold classics and original creations. With over 120 hand-selected spirits lining the wall behind the bar, visitors can enjoy well-known concoctions such as Margaritas and Negronis or experiment with bespoke tipples like Autumn Edge and champagne cocktails.
What a treat, if you enjoy quality high class cocktails served by knowledgeable and skilled hosts you are in luck! They have a huge whisky collection with some of the world's finest, plus reasonably priced too, this is the place to refine your pallet, or you could just order a pint.

Very quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. The cocktails were excellent. I had a seasonal one and my husband had the cocktail of the week. Loved the music and decor. It still felt nice even when quiet, the atmosphere would be even better with a few more people there.

Great little cocktail bar serving high quality drinks. The hostess was also very helpful with suggesting certain drinks. Highly recommended!

Fantastic trendy bar with great drinks! Bar tender was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and really knowledgeable about different drinks. My husband personally loved the extensive choice of different whisky’s on offer to try. Will definitely be visiting again when we return to Newquay.

I love this bar. Really good vibe to it. It is not a pub. It serves classic cocktails. Order your drink take seat and relax. Staff are great too. Definitely not my usual place but for my annual date night 🤣🤣🤣

This is hands down, THE BEST cocktail bar in Newquay, been coming here for years. Bartenders are brilliant and each and every drink is made to a high standard and with great care. They don't make surgery cocktails that make you feel terrible the next day. Can have a few and still get up for the surf the next morning. :)

The Tom Thumb bar was a great little find. It’s a very small bar with limited seating but we had no trouble finding a table. The service was very warm and the general atmosphere within the bar felt great. The selection of drinks was excellent. Lots of choices for the alcohol drinker and a good selection for those not drinking alcohol. As per the picture, I had an old fashioned and it was great. I would certainly visit Tom Thumb bar next time I’m in Newquay.

Walkabout in Newquay is an Australian-themed bar that offers a straightforward menu, themed party nights, and live big-screen TV sports. The restaurant scene in Newquay reflects the abundance of fresh seafood available on the Cornish coast, with daily specials featuring local crab, pan-seared pollock, and grilled lobster. Walkabout provides a laid-back Aussie spirit perfect for hen parties, offering a stress-free atmosphere and excellent hospitality.
Well, this place is the most refreshing breath of fresh air for what you may think is run of the mill, couldn't be further from it. The staff are amazing, kind and engaging with their bubbly personalities shining through to the spectacular views and out of this world food flavour profiles without pulling your pants down over the price. There is always plenty of seating and music for all tastes as well as sports displayed for all the major tournaments. I would highly recommend the bottomless wings for £12.95 in a range of different flavours, they will blow you mind at how tender and flavourful they are to eat. This venue HAS to be and will always in my UK top 10 for bar, food and holiday greats to visit and I urge anyone coming to this neck of the woods to make this a must do stop on the way 😋 . I have to say a huge THANK YOU to the following staff and management for the exceptional service, hospitality to match the best venues in the UK and a tight but polite friendly security team. Chef Haydn, Stacey, Vicki, Steve, Jack, George and the Ass. Manager. I cannot wait got get back down for some more amazing memories here.

I had to come back for more and must say that as fabulous as the food is (honestly best chicken wings I've ever had) the staff are better! Poor hygiene looked like there was bird poop in my drink obviously they don’t clean their glasses very well , if you drink here I’d suggest you check your glass. But better not to drink here. Health and safety please come and check everything!!

This is the best sport bar around Cornwall, tonight I went to watch the champions league, they had all the games around all over several sections I can say 3 floors but compact, brilliant staff, good chicken wings and customer service was great thank you to Jack and Will in the bar and the general staff Inc security was great. I recommend you book a table sometimes it can get really busy. They have a ping pong table inside and pool table.

Did a bottomless brunch for a friend's birthday and it couldn't be beat! Our server, Jack, was on point and quick with a fresh drink the second we were ready!!! Nice place for a drink. If the weather is good it’s worth sitting outside overlooking the beach. Good selection of drinks, prices are pretty much average. Dogs are allowed inside. Pool tables and some games here. The food looks good and is a decent price but we never ate here. At night I imagine it’s a young people’s place. Could do with a refurb it is looking slightly run down. Good location.

Located on Gover Lane, just a short distance from Towan Beach in Newquay, The Dead Famous Liquor Lounge is the perfect place to stop by after a day at the beach with your four-legged friend. During the day, this bar offers a selection of delicious burgers, loaded fries, and nachos. However, as night falls, it transforms into an energetic LA-style club with an impressive cocktail menu.
Absolutely love this place, highly recommend for a night out in Newquay. Music was top quality, staff was super friendly and caring. Plenty of feel good vibes. Genuinely felt at home here. I'll be back.

First we were enticed in by ‘beardy’, a delightful man running around keeping the punters happy, we got a couple of ciders then endless ‘Strawberry Daiquiri’s... what a great place, we will return again later next year for sure... brilliant night spot.. recommend to friends who want to drink, dance or chill.. great vibe. Top place in Newquay! 🍸 🍹 🍾

An awesome late night lounge bar! Live dj with good music and great beer! Friendly patreons and awesome staff, i caught them having a boogy while collecting glasses.. 😉 which just add to the wonderfully atmosphere. Wasnt too busy while i was there. But to be expected with the nearby festival and the earliness of the evening. But still i had a great time!

Wow! What an experience! Myself and partner who's birthday it is came out for food not knowing what we wanted, like most couples of course! We was greeted by beardy on the door who was extremely friendly and customer facing (not sure if he is a manager but he was doing everything). We came in with our 7 month old and the place was lively with music and about 2 free tables left. The food has only been on for a week and is amazing, can not fault it at all. Beardy 2 came and made a cocktail for the other half's birthday. We will be back in September for sure!

Nice bar for live music, very atmospheric, just don't understand why do I have to drink Spanish lager in UK. Very poor beer selection for beer lovers. As a Scottish resident no whiskie selection at all very disappointed.

Dogs were allowed in the bar which was cool. The bar staff were friendly and they have photos and drawings of cats all over the place. A great place to visit for an animal lover. Whiskers really has its own vibe and theme going on that sets it apart from other places. Along with that the open mic night had some pretty good talent also that livened the place up really well.

The Fistral Stable is a vibrant and youthful restaurant located on Fistral Beach in Newquay, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea. The menu features locally caught seafood and exceptional sourdough pizzas, with a highlight being their seafood sharer board. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere where dogs are welcome all day and boasts a balcony for alfresco dining to make the most of its beachside setting.
Great food and even greater views! Amazing selection of ciders on tap and in the bottle. The pizza crust is cracker thin and crispy with an innovative selection of toppings. Laid-back ambience. The view is worthy of another mention.

I had a good dining experience at The Stable Restaurant! We ordered pizza, and it was delicious—perfectly baked with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a warm and inviting vibe that made our meal even more enjoyable. Best of all was the breathtaking sea view; it added a lovely backdrop to our dining experience. The staff was also incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Overall, I highly recommend The Stable Restaurant for anyone looking for great food, a beautiful setting, and good service.
Matin A — Google review
Come for the view, not the food. I’ve eaten here a bunch and had a consistent experience, great view, disappointing pizzas, apologetic staff. Pizza bases are more like water biscuits and they ‘snap’ - there is a poor flour mix. The tomato base is vanishingly thin (because of the low structural capability of the base) and has all dried. The toppings are ‘squirted’ on and they will make mistakes on your order (happened twice). Service is also very slow. Silver lining, the view is great And now for a line from my friend: imagine paying up front, waiting for an hour… expecting something lovingly crafted over that significant time… and being presented with a packet of Jacob’s crackers, a slice of vegan cheese (that you didn’t even order) with a chaser of tomato juice. And being told it’s a pizza. My mouth feels like it’s been slapped with a sandy flip flop and I’ve been asked ‘how was it?’ Expecting a serious reply 😂 “

We had a memorable date night at The Fistral Stable for my girlfriend’s birthday. The staff were great! They made sure we sat by the window on a very busy evening, and even spelled out Happy Birthday with sauce on our delicious Biscoff pudding! The pizza’s were incredibly tasty and the cider was spot on. Thank you for showing us a good time!

Spend 2 consecutive evenings in the stable. Superb venue and views, sublime! The food was fab! Husband had the same pizza ( pigs dinner) each time because he loved the spice and freshness! The nachoes were wonderful and Tater tots yum! So many items to tempt! Staff kind and attentive.

Had a great evening here last Friday after a very hot day on the beach, it was very busy and had a good atmosphere, we hadn't booked but we're still found a table, and then changed tables for one in the shade! Friendly staff, quick service and very good pizza's, staff were working very hard in very hot conditions but all seemed cheerful, overall would certainly recommend and the views of the beach and sea are stunning

Lovely restaurant in a lovely location with the most amazing view. Excellent range of ciders. Our server was also fantastic (I think she was called Fran? Sorry I didn't quite catch her name!) But most importantly for me was the service and attitude received around being gluten free. Rather than feeling like a hindrance I was made to feel very welcome and received plenty of help in ordering something great. The GF pizza dough was amazing and I will definitely be back when next in the area.

Located on the golden sands of Perranporth beach in Cornwall, The Watering Hole is a popular family and dog-friendly beach bar and restaurant. It offers a simple menu featuring burgers, snacks, and pies along with a wide selection of local beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks. Visitors can enjoy stunning sea views from the terrace while sipping on hot drinks or sundowners.
This place is fantastic it’s like being abroad but they speak English and the money is easy to use( not euros 🤣)food and cakes are great. It’s such a great relaxed atmosphere to sit and while away the hours. This is the fifth year of coming here LOVE IT 👍🏻👍🏻

The Watering Hole is a nice bar in the middle of Peranporth Bay Beach with plenty of seating both in and outside. It faces towards some amazing cliff arches that you can walk through to other arches, Caves and another part of the beach. The beach itself is patrolled by Lifeguards and is child friendly where the water comes in as the tide goes out far. Many people bring beach tents and wind breaks. However the seagulls are a menace and will have your food in a blink of an eye if you are careless.
Jay M — Google review
Amazing bar and restaurant on the beach! A must when in Cornwall. Friendly staff, good quality cocktails and tasty squid and nachos which are fair portions. Live music acts!

Great location on Perranporth beach, the addition of the upstairs terrace is brilliant! Great choice of beer and drinks. Good is ordered and collected from dedicated points, which is good. Food was good, not a lot of choice but value for money Staff were so great. Definitely worth a visit.
Tony B — Google review
The Watering Hole on Perranporth beach is a popular spot. At high tide the sea comes very close to the large outdoor seating area. It frequently has live music events to which dogs are not welcome but are welcome at all other times. There are bars upstairs and downstairs with a large veranda. The newly built extension contains public toilets and an outdoor shower for beach goers. I have docked one star only for the fact that customers need a fat wallet when visiting. It is far from cheap. A simple Doombar will cost £5.30 per pint. There are other bars close to the beach but they also are not cheap. Overall the Watering Hole is a great asset to the beach, as a local I just wish it was more affordable. Great for holiday makers for food and drink, pleasant views and dog friendly. Just make sure you have plenty of money.
Ray B — Google review
The Nest is a fantastic new addition perched right above The Wateringhole, sitting quite literally on Perranporth beach. It offers a perfect mix of relaxed dining and lively nightlife, making it a must-visit spot whether you’re in for a chilled afternoon or a buzzing evening out. Downstairs, you can grab crowd-pleasers like pizza and burgers — great beachside comfort food that hits the spot. But the real gem is upstairs: the rooftop bar. The vibes are brilliant, with a laid-back coastal feel during the day and a lively energy at night when the DJ takes over. Cocktails are a highlight here — creative, refreshing, and beautifully made, they’re exactly what you want to sip while watching the sun dip into the Atlantic. Combined with the views and atmosphere, it’s hard to beat. Overall, The Nest nails that balance of casual dining and rooftop sophistication, making it one of the best places to eat, drink, and unwind in Perranporth. Highly recommended!
Tanya M — Google review
The Watering Hole: Where the Sun Sets, the Cider Flows, and Even the Dogs Look Chuffed With Themselves The Watering Hole on Perranporth Beach is one of those places that somehow manages to feel both legendary and completely relaxed at the same time, and it lives up to its name every single time we visit. You don’t just go to the Watering Hole; you experience it. And you usually leave a little happier (and a little more full) than when you arrived. First off, the drinks. The ales are proper, the famous Rattler cider does exactly what it promises (in that slightly “woah, that’s stronger than I thought” kind of way), and everything feels fresh, well-kept, and served with a smile. If you’re after a beachside pint, you’re in the right place , no question. The food is exactly what you want from a place like this, tasty, fast, no-nonsense dishes you can happily enjoy either perched outside with the sea breeze in your hair or inside where it’s warm and full of atmosphere. Good mix of quick bites and satisfying plates, nothing too fussy, just reliably good. And the setting? Honestly unbeatable. On a proper summer’s evening, sat outside gazing out as the sun sets over the sand, drink in hand, it’s like someone designed it specifically for Instagram (and your soul). Even when the Cornish weather decides to misbehave, inside is still brilliant, cosy but lively, with sports on the screens if that’s your thing, plenty of space to eat, chat, and soak up the vibe. And of course, the dogs. The Watering Hole is fully dog-friendly, which means you can bring your furry mate along and nobody bats an eyelid when they park themselves under your table looking smug. So if you find yourself on Perranporth Beach and fancy great drinks, tasty food, friendly staff, and a view that will make you wonder why you don’t move here full-time… The Watering Hole is waiting. Legendary by name, legendary by nature.

The Towan Blystra - JD Wetherspoon is a spacious pub and restaurant located in the heart of Newquay. The venue features tiled floors, a long wooden bar, and secluded booths for a cozy dining experience. Newquay itself has a rich history dating back to the Stone Age, with reminders of its past scattered throughout the town, such as the sturdy harbour tucked away to the east of Towan Headland.
On par with other Spoons. Great value! Hoppin place on a grey day in Newquay.

As off-season travelers we found this place as the only restaurant around where we saw people inside. So we gave it a try. They have food+drink menus for under 15 pounds so we ordered fish and chips with craft IPA beer. It came quick and tasted good.
Norbert E — Google review
So during our 10 night stay in Newquay, we frequented this Spoons on a few occasions. This is now the only Spoons in Newquay (July 2025) and more expensive then those accessible via bus from Newquay (St.Austell, Truro, Perrenporth & Cambourne) This opened at 8am and on day one we arrived inside about 8.10am. Given the time we looked forward to a lovely hot breakfast (Served 8am till 12Noon). We ordered 1x Small Breakfast at £3.99 and 1x Breakfast Muffin including a soft/hot drink at £3.99. The food arrived promptly however was cold, not even luke warm, we were confused as to how at that time it could be cold?. Other than the temperature the food was ok Refillable hot drinks cost £1.71.. however although the machines have more options than other Spoons we have been into i.e decaf/caffeine or hot/cold; the Latte, Hot Chocolate and Mocha were dreadful. The latter two barely filled half a cup when the machine said drink had been finished. The staff looked into the matter and tried to resolve but to no avail. The latte was not great either. We drink these in other Spoons and enjoy them. We would avoid hot drinks in here. The pub itself, as with most Spoons has the main Ladies and Gentlemens toilets upstairs. Unfortunately when going to the Ladies, the Gents door often opened allowing for the awful smell of urinals to waft out, in hindsight perhaps the Gents should have been placed to the furthest point. The Spoons has a small seating area to the front, we think it was non smoking to the left and smoking to the right. The benches would be in the sun (when the sun made an appearance) there were also umbrellas available. All in all the majority of the staff were fabulous, friendly and engaging. The pub could get very busy. Idea place for a quick pit stop, especially good to grab a pint of Ale (Mon-Wed) at a very reasonable price or a single vodka and mixer for only £1.99. Disappointed with the food and given the recent changes to the Daily Clubs, we were disappointed to discover no Pizzas at this Spoons, that ruled out the good deal Small Plates on Monday for us and Pizza Club on a Wednesday.
Star N — Google review
I’m putting my local spoons down as most improved restaurant! Let’s get real the food here is not somewhere you would take a date in my opinion my expectations of food here is lower they have taken pub grub and somehow lowered the standard but we know this going in. My first photo shows the abomination I would usually get served and yes stone cold beans, warm bread, unrecognisable egg (cold) it really was terrible. However something changed this year food started coming out warm sometimes hot, the beans became tepid and eventually I was served breakfast with hot beans on , toast that looked like toast. I’m mainly in there for breakfast and for a pint (later in the evenings) meals not very often so this is a breakfast review. For the money let’s not forget it’s cheaper not by too much now it seems but we do hear Newquay spoons is more expensive so for the money they are doing ok certainly much improved over the years and the people responsible deserve credit. A large breakfast in town is around £12-£15 maybe more when I took my son for a ‘pub grub’ breakfast it was £36 two meals and two drinks! When I went to spoons on my next fry up Sunday it cost me £12 two meals and two drinks was it half as good…maybe but £36 means I won’t go back for a month of Sundays, for £12 see you next week, so it will always be on my list for a quick breakfast to start the day. In the evenings or mornings I guess beer is or has become so distant in pricing from other places you can’t avoid spoons if you want a night of drinking. I’ve paid up to £7:40 in town for a beer in a mouldy old industrial unit tiny but ‘trendy’ so the kids say. In here it’s £3. It’s a professional company the service is quick all equipments clean it’s always busy and your not getting robbed all the time so I believe you couldn’t and shouldn’t avoid it. You want to go out have a good night wake up with money in your pocket your get that here.

Had to get my own drinks from the bar. Had the breakfast. Fried eggs were like rubber. Beans tasted watered down and toast was rock hard. Also dont get the black pudding in a bowl.

Very busy around breakfast time due to board masters but staff were so attentive and helpful. I didn’t catch their name but the staff member with green/blue highlights and a star shaped hair clip was particularly ace. Another lounge, but not as good a visit at this one as we had enjoyed at others. It was somewhat quiet but still a slight wait to be told to find our own seat. Once we had placed our order, the was not much of a delay on food being served. The food was hot & reasonable good, but not he best that we have experienced with the Lounge chain. Maybe this venue was having an off day, so will give this one a miss & try some other establishments instead.

Came here for brunch as a group of five without a reservation. Had a few tables to choose from, including the roof terrace. We were going to sit outside, but because tables aren't cleared there were seagulls on the tables, and we didn't want them pooping on our table/food. Other than that, everything was great, food came out quickly and was very tasty, and it was very easy to order online and customise our orders. Friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. Would come again, and would've given 5 stars if the tables were cleared a bit more promptly.

Amazing food, amazing views, amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Couldn’t fault this place - best place we are in while visiting Newquay! Coffee, cakes, breakfast with vegetarian and vegan options. Nice to go somewhere that gets it right. I had Avocado on toast, which was exceptionally good with apple, pomegranate and walnuts (and no onion, which is a bonus). The perfect little spot for breakfast. Upon arrival we were seated within seconds. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Very clean with great views of fistral beach. Ordered American pancakes and hash. Both were super delicious. The pancakes were soft and jam packed with fresh blueberries. The hash had the perfect amount of spice and smokiness. If I were to be picky the coffee and tea were average. Ordered a flat white and breakfast tea. The flat white was very milky and only came with 1 shot of espresso which typically comes with 2. The breakfast tea came out in a glass teapot which served 2 cups however there was only 1 teabag inside which made it taste very weak.

This family-run gem boasts a unique approach to dining, where every dish is freshly prepared and cooked to order, ensuring a memorable culinary experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for those seeking good food without the chaos of children—it's an adults-only haven!
Food is amazing. The owner works the front of house alone and everything is fresh and cooked to order, so if you want fast food it probably isn't for you. If you care about good food, a nice house, and a chilled atmosphere with no screaming kids around (no u18s allowed), this is the place for you.

A amazing place for people who love authentic spanish food:) Great service , warm atmosphere and delicious food:) see more on insta @surffoodkulture The prices are moderate we spend like 40 pounds each but we ate and drunk a lot:)

Absolutely fantastic food and service is second to none. Would recommend to all. Cosy and cute with a great atmosphere, we loved it!

If you like Spanish food and drink this is the place to eat. I have been on holiday for the last two years at Porth Beach and not really took much notice of this restaurant until last night. Family run business with a unique take on service/food/drinking. I wish it was just down the road from me then I could dine there more often

Liked this place. We arrived at 6 on a saturday and there were still a few empty tables. We ordered 7 dishes between 3 of us, a bit of everything and it was plenty. By the time we left it was full, and so were we! We shall return when in Newquay again.

Amazing food each and every time. The place is a very nice, right on the beach. The dude behind the counter is a good guy, quite funny. Epic food, drinks and food times. Been coming for 4 years and it's definitely the best tapas in Newquay.

Fore Street Cafe Bar is a small cafe located in Newquay, Cornwall that offers delicious food and drinks. It's especially popular for its pizzas, which are some of the best in town. The cafe also has great coffee options, making it the perfect spot to stop for a quick bite or caffeine fix.
This is such a gorgeous spot! Amazing variety on the menu for all dietary requirements, vegans are well catered for, and some amazing meaty plates too. Just a note that when we were there they had troubles with their card payments but also have signs saying cash is preferred. So maybe best to make sure you’ve got some cash in your pocket!
Terence S — Google review
A nourishing heaven! We had most amazing healthy brunch at Fore Street cafe. Everything that came to the table was so delicious. We were group of 6 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. The flavors were expertly balanced, and the presentation was Instagram-worthy. The menu is thoughtfully crafted to cater to various dietary needs, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere of the cafe was very welcoming and the staffs were very polite too. Look no further and just visit here. I recommend booking table.

A great brunch cafe and great coffee. I would recommend the avocado toast. For coffee lovers this does have amazing coffee! The portions are also nice and filling. I would recommend reserving here beforehand .

This place is a Gem! We look forward to our visits here everytime we venture down from Kent. The quality of produce and service is second to none and even in these trying times for hospitality standards remain the same. Love the haggis crumb with breakfast. If you want quality food and service look no further. Heard people saying was pricy well you get what you pay for in life, if you want a cheap breakfast find a Wetherspoons !!

Loved this little cafe! The food was so flavoursome and tasty with a huge portion! The vegan options were great and I had the vegan brunch plate + cake, loved it! Highly recommend⭐️❣️

I love this place, honestly my go to for a good breakfast in newquay. Recommend the “healthy” with an egg it’s so delicious that I get it every time. Can become busy so if you definitely want to sit inside you can always book which is nice :))
Dells R — Google review
Called in for lunch. Ordered cheese & spring onion toastie and classic toastie. £8 each. Quite shocked at how little we got ! Two slices of bread with cheese and spring onion ? Where is the filling ? And couldn’t taste and spring onion. There could have been a few crisps and a bit of salad. So we paid £19.50 for two of these a cup of tea and glass of milk. No tip paid as already overpaid ! The star I have given it is for the cafe and polite service but if that’s all you want then go ahead but if you want feeding walk on ….
Jillie A — Google review
I had mushrooms on toast which sounds dull & basic but it was not! It was the most delicious mushroom on toast I’ve ever had! Tarragon, cream, herb oil dressing and fancy mushrooms. I added a poached egg which was also perfect. There were plenty of vegan and gluten free options. The pastries looked amazing but I was really full after my breakfast so maybe next time. Staff are all really friendly and service was great. Dogs are allowed. Seating on 2 floors & outside.

If you're on the hunt for a unique night out in Newquay, look no further than WAX Activity Bar. This vibrant venue combines the thrill of activities like escape rooms and axe throwing with a lively bar atmosphere. Set in a charming old bank, it offers an array of fun options including interactive darts and virtual clay pigeon shooting. With dedicated lanes for axe throwing and various themed escape rooms—like the intriguing prison escape or dark mine experience—there's something to keep everyone entertained.
Excellent staff, Excellent Atmosphere, Came here impulsively after seeing they do Axe Throwing (a bucket list item of mine). Had a fantastic time, nice variety of different style/weighted Axes to suit individuals. Instructor (Sam?) gave great feedback to help keep us on target and then once we got the hang of it progressed into some competitive games. Never thought I would feed so good after throwing axes at a board of wood and if you're considering it then absolutely come here. Didn't sample the food personally but the other group there didn't complain and the burgers certainly looked good. I can say however, they serve good coffee for sure
Rohan W — Google review
My family and I had our first experience of Axe throwing today at WAX Newquay. Our instructor Sam was so friendly and very knowledgeable. We felt really comfortable with the instructions we were given and the tips he was able to give based on our throws on how to achieve better were spot on. Highly recommend this as both a family activity (over 12) or a group trip out. We never tried the food, so we are unable to review that on this occasion.
Laura V — Google review
We went to Wax Newquay in May for my sister's hen do. On the Saturday, 7 of us did axe throwing. Our teacher was really good and let us try so many types of axes, including throwing 2 at a time. We played games, had competitions, it was great. On the Sunday, 5 of us went for drinks and to do a Zombie escape room..we were rubbish and only escaped with 3 minutes to go but had such a good time. It was really fun, made our brains work, we got jump scares, it was really well laid out in several different rooms. The staff were all so friendly, it was easy to book, drinks were reasonably priced. I'd definitely recommend going to WX Newquay with a group of friends to take part in some of their activities.

We had a great time throwing axes with Sam. Will definitely return next time we are in town.

Wonderful place to go for good and drinks. Cocktails were freshly made, no premix. Great atmosphere, brilliant burgers, lightly crisp fries. 2 for 10 on happy hour and happy hour is all day on Fridays. Staff are absolutely wonderful too 😊 top recommendation.

Enjoyed a tasty veggie burger here, quite a few veggie and vegan options as well as traditional meal choices. Chilled out place with friendly staff. Only slight moan was good coffee but could be a bit hotter.

we did the zombie escape room and axe throwing today. both were brilliant but we failed the escape room but was still great fun. the staff were very helpfull and caring as my son caught his arm and opened a previous cut and the lady was very caring and allowed us to clean it up and provided some plasters. highly recommend this experience!

We had our lads Xmas party here last night & was very impressed & happy with how the evening went. Started with some axe throwing, followed by some digital darts. Will certainly try the escape rooms on our next visit. Friendly staff & good selection of drinks. Cheers x

Located at 21 Cliff Road, Newquay, TR7 2NE, Secret Garden is a charming pizzeria and cocktail bar with a beautiful green living wall. The venue offers artisan pizzas, crafted cocktails, organic and biodynamic wines, as well as a selection of Cornish beers, ciders and gins.
Honestly up there with the best pizza I've had; accompanied by lovey, warm and welcoming staff - Wayne was brilliant! Loved the decor and music in the restaurant too, made for a really nice and relaxed atmosphere. Can't speak for busier days but we didn't feel rushed at all like can sometimes be the case with table service meals.
Grace — Google review
We had an amazing experience with incredibly delicious vegan food. Despite being very busy, Wayne was exceptionally courteous, patient, and kind, attending to us with both professionalism and genuine care. He maintained eye contact and kept us informed about the wait time before taking our order, which we truly appreciated. The food was outstanding—it's rare for us as vegans to find a place that delivers such flavor. The pizza was phenomenal—easily one of my all-time favorites. We were lucky to get a table outside, and the view was beautiful. It does get busy, but understandably so, given the warm, happy, and relaxed vibe of the place. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing to watch the sunset whilst having dinner/ drinks. The food was good, the cocktails were lovely & the sunset view was breathtaking. Would recommend booking as gets busy very quickly. Service was a little slow, but it was busy, so we understood, and it didn't affect our experience. Would definitely come back even just for cocktails as they were so nice!

Took my dog Rexy to The Secret Garden in Newquay for a little pup date to celebrate a recent success, and it couldn’t have been a better spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and local - just the kind of place you want to unwind in. I had the Forager (a vegan option) but added bacon, and it hit the mark. Fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. They’ve also got a great selection of drinks, from coffees to cocktails, which makes it ideal whether you’re after a chill breakfast or a sunset drink. Speaking of sunsets - this place has one of the best views in Newquay. It looks right out over the headland, and when the sun starts to set, it’s absolutely stunning. Perfect for dog-friendly dining, celebrating little wins, or just soaking up the Cornish coastline.

This is a hidden gem in Newquay! I just stumbled across it in a Sunday and then saw theirs yard facing the beach and it had the best view and vibe possible! Their selection of cocktails 🍸 is great and also the beer 🍺 is quite nice. One of my best sunsets in Cornwall!
Suhas T — Google review
Italian themed restaurant with great food and great variety of spirits. Decor inside is modern and the seating outside on the balcony the views are spectacular. Highly recommend and will be going again in the future.
David B — Google review
I would give it 6 stars if I could. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The flavor was creative (n’duja with onion chutney, rocket and sauces) and the dough very thin and tasty. Incredibly well made pizza! Unfortunately I couldn’t try many cocktails but I did have one strawberry fizz and it was perfection! The right balance of alcohol and great size as well. The place has a fab atmosphere: the view over the beach is stunning and there was some music going on the background. A great spot to meet up with friends or go on a date.

Named after the hangout of the first surfers in the 1960s, it offers stunning sea views and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu features popular dishes such as gourmet burgers, Buddha bowls, and avocado tacos, with great vegan options available.
Fantastic bar on Great Western Beach serving delicious burgers with great vegan options. Friendly staff and good selection of drinks. Is in the most amazing setting, worth the trip to Newquay alone.

We came here based on the good reviews that we read on Google. Service was slow, we had to order at the counter and we ordered one classic burger and one bbq burger, nobody asked how we would like the meat to be cookeed, so for our evaluation purposes we didn't asked for anything special to be done. It took around 20 minutes to get our meal, which I consider a long time for a quick bite. The meat on both burgers were warm and they came overcooked and a bit dry but the vegetables inside were fresh, crispy and tasted quite well. The fries didn't have any particular taste, I think they might have cooked them for too long too, we appreciate the fresh rosemaries on top though. Both meals with 2 coffes costed £26, so not exactly cheap too. All the best.

If you're looking for a fun way to spend your time in Newquay, The Edgcliff is the perfect spot for both pool enthusiasts and sports fans alike. With eight top-notch pool tables that rival those found in professional settings, you can challenge your friends to an exciting game while enjoying a lively atmosphere. The venue also features three large screens showcasing live sports, making it an ideal place to catch up on your favorite teams.
Played all over the country, these tables are the best quality club tables you will find anywhere. I play internationally for England… I’ve played the odd frame on the live TV table in the world championships… Edgecliff table 1 in particular is THAT quality! If you want to experience pro level tables, this is the closest you will get in a club 🙂

came here for a drink with my husband, poor beer and heard the toilets are a bad environment, staff were rude and one of the lady's were overwhelming to my husband. pool tables were dirty. staff drinking behind the bar, not going back here.i think they have served underage, and felt vunrable and uncomfortable, this was a very toxic environment and I don't recommend to young women.

Visitors have praised the welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff, particularly Tris and his assistant. Customers appreciate the shop's flexibility, with options to buy or rent surfboards at great deals. The knowledgeable staff provide valuable advice for an optimal local surfing experience.
I use krog den on my annual surfing holiday to Newquay. Tris always does me a great deal on buying a surf board that he then buys back at the end of my stay. Much cheaper than hiring a board and he's flexible in changing the board if needed and if there are mishaps he's always very helpful sick as replacing lost fins

we visited Newquay for the first time we wanted to try surfing or sup for the first time. we visited around 5 surf shops before finding Krog den surf shop looking to buy 2 wetsuits in each of the 5 shops not one shop assistant even asks if we needed help, spending around 10 minutes in each trying to workout sizes etc we walked out. Then we came across Krog den surf shop as soon as we walked in we felt very welcomed by Tris and his assistant, they asked what we were looking for. In total we spent around 1 hour trying on a few different wetsuits to find the perfect one So, we bought 2 new wetsuits and hire 2 SUP for a day. Tris really did go out of his way staying open a little later on Tuesday for us to pick up the 2 X SUP as we were on Coasteering activity that afternoon which is also amazing I would highly recommend Krog Den surf shop Newquay for any surf or sup equipment. They were perfect for us newbies
