Public beach
Playa de Papagayo is a renowned beach in Lanzarote, known for its stunning turquoise waters and golden sands. It's located within the Los Ajaches Natural Park, offering unspoiled natural beauty away from the touristy resort vibe. While there are no shops inside the park, visitors can enjoy a restaurant overlooking the beach. For those seeking convenience, Playa Blanca nearby offers a more traditional tourist experience with various amenities and activities.
Arrived at 7pm to see the sunset. There was plenty of parking and lots of space on the beach. We swam and played in the sea for an hour and then watched a glorious sunset. The water was clean, the currents were strong (so be careful) and there were some 2ft waves so if you have smaller children, keep them close and check the tide times. The beach also has rocks either side so again be aware of the current. I can imagine during the day the beach would get crowded but there are other options close by if this is the case. Mujeres has lots of space and is less rocky. The drive to the beach is fine, the dirt track is pretty flat. As we arrived at 7pm we also didn't have to pay the €3 entrance fee. It is a lovely place to watch the sunset but be ready to leave as climbing up the path from the beach to parking area, in the dark, wouldn't be fun.

Visited here solely for the purpose of checking out the views which are highly rated. Access road just off the roundabout is several km long and is VERY bumpy at times so you need to be careful with your driving speed. Large car parking area so no problem getting parked (we arrived at approx. 11.00am on a Tuesday). There was a €3 charge for our car entrance fee. From the car park it's a short walk to the view point which does provide excellent views of the coastline plus you can see Fuerteventura in the distance and (presumably) a volcano or two in the opposite direction. For the best views you can walk towards the cliff edges but be aware that there are no safety barriers and the wind can be quite strong as well. The beaches here (which we didn't use) looked very nice with good access to the sea but getting down to them seemed a steepish walk from the car park area. There are a couple of eating place options but strangely I didn't notice any public toilets? Maybe I just missed them but definitely not obvious from around the viewing area and outside the eateries. Overall a nice place to visit for the views with the added bonus of good beaches. When we were leaving it was starting to get busy so obviously a popular area.
Fraser B — Google review
I visited this beach because it’s said to be the most popular on the island. The access road is several kilometers long and quite bumpy, so you need to drive carefully. Parking is no problem—there’s a large lot (€3 car entrance fee), and even when we arrived around 13:00 on a Monday, spaces were available. From the parking area, it’s just a short walk to a viewpoint with fabulous views of the coastline, and on clear days you can even see Fuerteventura in the distance. For the best photos you can walk closer to the cliff edges, but be careful—there are no safety barriers and the wind can get strong. The beach itself, however, wasn’t what we expected. The water looked dirty, it was crowded (as you can see in the photos), and getting down from the parking area involved a fairly steep walk. There are a couple of small buffets, but I couldn’t find any public toilets. Overall, I wouldn’t say this is the best beach on the island. The cliff views are beautiful, and the sea is calmer here, but if you want to swim, I’d recommend coming early in the morning before it gets busy. Personally, I prefer Playa de Janubio.
Michal Š — Google review
Great place for a big open water swim, managed 1300 metres at this beach which is 600m long. This is the first of three beaches at this location, you can only access it by foot by walking across a mountain path behind hotel sandos. There are no life guards, go in a strong pair of walking shoes and use a tow float when swimming. Keep away from rocks as people fish from them. Water is very clean and sandy beach easy to get in and out.
Mayo M — Google review
Beautiful small beach with shallow waters. Parking available on site free of charge and you'll have to go down some stairs to reach the beach but nothing to worry about. Two restaurants available there as well together with a small shop where you can get drinks.
Andrei G — Google review
Stunning natural beach with surrounding cliffs! It takes a bit going down and up by man made steps but it's totally worth it. If you're in Lanzarote, this is a must see area. Entrance is 3e only so not a big deal. There's a restaurant if you want to eat or drink at the top of the cliff, but it is expensive. Considering there's no mains power or water, everything is supplied through the generator so no wonder it's expensive.
Dudo47ZG — Google review
✅️Pros: •Gorgeous golden sand and crystal-clear water •Protected cove with relatively calm swimming •Excellent spot for snorkeling and enjoying marine life •Stunning natural scenery, perfect for photos ⚠️Cons: •Access road is unpaved; drive carefully ~3-5 kilometers •National Park entrance fee: €3 per vehicle (I think the evening hours are free..) •Very limited shade; bring umbrella, water, and snacks (There is a small restaurant btw.) •Can get crowded during peak hours •Not ideal for small children or people with mobility issues, as you have to descend a long staircase to reach the beach. (50-60 meters long stair) 😉Tips: •Visit during sunset for breathtaking views •Bring sun protection, water, and snacks •Wear comfortable shoes for walking on rocky paths to the beach
Péter Á — Google review
20min drive on the bumpy potholed gravel road to get to the mediocre beach...just go somewhere else, there are more beaches on the Lanzarote and Fuertaventura that dont wreck your car while getting to them. There is no shower or toilet on the beach and no shade, only two bars and a ice cream shop overlooking the beach...we came in the afternoon so we did not have to pay anything to get in to the beach.

Playa Grande is the most popular beach in Puerto del Carmen, located in the south of Lanzarote. With over a kilometer of golden sand, it's perfect for sunbathing and swimming in the calm sea. The seafront promenade is lined with bars, restaurants, shops, and nightlife options. This urban beach offers various services and is a favorite among visitors.
Love the promenade, palms and wonderful views of a green and light blue ocean. We had a tasty lunch in the Costa restaurant and then we went straight to the beach ⛱️ The water is calm but cold, few light waves but windy as usual 🌬️ A crystal clear water in which you can see a lot of fishes. Someone on the beach is used to give them some bread 🍞 It's all sandy and safe, good for children and older people
Lisa V — Google review
One of the best places on the island for great moments with music, sunset, and food.
Lucca T — Google review
A beautiful, long beach with clean sands. Swimming is very enjoyable, even though the water is chilly. There is showers almost everywhere, and when you climb back on the main road you have everything you'll ever need: bars, restaurants, shops etc. Overall a great experience.
FRAN P — Google review
This is a beautiful beach! The water is crystal clear, warm, and calm with no waves. It’s so clean that you can see fish swimming right by the shore. The sand is incredibly soft, and renting two sunbeds with an umbrella costs €10.50 (cash only). I highly recommend getting the umbrella, as the wind can be strong and might blow sand onto you
Theodora M — Google review
A completely average beach. Sunbeds were a bit expensive at €10.5. There’s no shade, so definitely rent one and bring your own drinks, as there’s nothing nearby. Showers are available here for free.
Tamás M — Google review
Gorgeous beach! Sun bed hire is 10.49 euros for X2 and 7.00 euros for 1 and the sunbeds on the main strip towards the wall where the toilets are are nicer because your blocked from wind a little bit

Playa de las Conchas is a picturesque beach on the small island of La Graciosa, featuring a wide stretch of white sand bordered by turquoise waters, rock formations, and dunes. Visitors can enjoy leisurely days lounging on the beach, savoring sunsets, indulging in seafood lunches and breezy picnics.
Awesome place! Sand is clean and fine. I arrived very early (8:00) and it was totally empty. A dream :) the road to get there is a bit hard if you are not fit, but its totally worthy

One of the best beaches I have visited. Stunning views of the Chinijo archipelago. It's clothing optional. An easy walk of 1 hour from the town and ferry port.
Christopher B — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to! You cannot swim or bath, but the sand in fantastic and the view is even better. You can enjoy the sun and the sound of the sea for hours! But dont miss the last ship from Graciosa 😉
Martin Š — Google review
Most beautiful and cleanest beach I've ever seen! Little paradise. Very chill to just lay down in the sun on the soft sand and listen to the waves crash on the beach. Bliss!
Lt. T — Google review
Fantastic beach with plenty of space on soft sand. It took about an hour to walk from the ferry port along the dusty track. There are no facilities or shops other than at the port. We took a packed lunch with us to the island together with plenty of drinks and sun screen. The far end of the beach is clothing optional. If you can't face the long walk there is a taxi service to the car park.
Steven G — Google review
Amazing beach. I went there on a regular bike and it was quite tough to get to. I recommend renting an electric bike. The beach itself is beautiful, with sand dunes and turquoise water. However, you need to know that you can't swim there because it's too dangerous. This is a wild beach and it should stay like this 🩵
Mirela M — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I saw in my life. No restaurant, no bar, take food and drinks.
Giulia A — Google review
The best beach on the island. Fantastic landscape. The sand is thin and the dunes with some vegetation adds to the place. Can be reached hiking, by bike or by a tour/taxi. This is a nudist friendly beach. It is very long and you can walk also towards both sides of the beach and take amazing pictures. Also, from the parking lot you can make a right and walk to Montaña Bermeja.

Playa Flamingo is a stunning white-sand beach that offers visitors a delightful escape with its inviting promenade, refreshing showers, and sunbathing terrace. Nestled within walking distance of the town center, it stands alongside other picturesque beaches like Playa Dorada and Town Beach, all perfect for swimming and soaking up the sun. For those seeking adventure beyond Playa Flamingo, the nearby Papagayo beaches are renowned for their natural beauty and tranquility.
Such a lovely beach with a lot of shops near (coffee shop, or food and beach things like swimsuits). Had really great time here. No waves and shallow water on the start so good for kids and bad swimmers. You can also enjoy diving or learn to ride a kayak.
OrdinaceFan — Google review
Lovely little sandy beach. A great spot for snorkelling and swimming. We went on the weekend, arriving late morning. There was still plenty of space and it never got super busy. It is also empty at sunset and is a lovely spot to chill. A good selection of bars/restaurants on the promenade, plus a handy little supermarket.
Josh B — Google review
Cozy beautiful beach with clear water and sandy bottom. Sand is white (artificial), very pleasant compared to the black one on the whole island. 😀 Perfect for swimming. Vibe like at Calais in Cala d‘or in Mallorca. One point less since it’s small and full of kids.
Anna — Google review
A really lovely little, manmade sandy beach. Protected by the walls the water is super calm. Whilst the western edge is a bit rocky the eastern part of the beach is 100% sandy with zero issues walking in and our of the water. Lovely soft sand. I stayed at TUI Blue Flamingo Beach which is the hotel right on this beach. It can and does get busy but not too busy. There are a couple shops, restaurants, bars, a cafe and an ice cream parlour overlooking the beach. It is served by a 13km promenade. There are no services on this beach such as toilets, changing rooms or rentable sun loungers. The mini marts have lockers you can rent.
D — Google review
Where do I even begin? We made a terrible mistake by booking our holiday at Merry Hill Store. My husband, daughter, and I were all excited to go, especially after our agent highly recommended it. We arrived late at night and were sent to a room the furthest away from anything, across a road. To make matters worse, the key cards didn’t work. I went back to reception and asked for a room closer to the front of the hotel, away from any open road. They gave me room A37, but the toilet was making noises like a T-Rex, and the shower didn’t work properly. These issues were reported on the first day. The TUI team on site, on the chat, and the hotel staff advised us multiple times that maintenance would fix it, but they never did. They didn’t even go to our room at any point. On the morning of day 5, they offered to move rooms, but it was day 5 of a 7-day stay! I was given a key for another unsafe and isolated room, just as bad as the first. The ceiling had been replaced multiple times and looked like it had been lifted and shifted out of Baghdad. There were cracked tiles everywhere that people could get hurt, and multiple chunks of concrete steps were missing from areas, leaving raised metal drains that could cut open people’s feet. The entire hotel was dirty. From the eatery to the stairs leading to the rooms, there was rubbish and hair everywhere. It was clear that the hotel needed money spent on it rather than TUI sending that money elsewhere. The food was also a major issue. There was fish in the cheesey pasta, undercooked food, and basic hygiene was missing from the dirty plates. Hair was even found in the food as it was placed on the surface. It was just disgraceful. On another day, a child was sick in the food area, and the family was not seen for a few days after. I requested a downgrade of our food option, as evidenced by the photo I have (it’s £934). Multiple placards around the hotel advertised the costs of upgrading. The place is a health and safety hazard. We’ve spent over £1000 eating out of the hotel because of its poor quality and dangerous conditions. Why can’t you downgrade if you can upgrade? It’s the same process in reverse! After speaking to other people, I discovered that the entire hotel is in the same state, and the staff are fully aware of it. The TUI rep, Dylan, offered to sort my late check-out, but it was only until 2 pm because they had others coming into our room. I asked how he could possibly put people in the room knowing its condition, but he said that was his problem to sort out if they complained. He’s sent me a link to refund me the 20 euros to the wrong mobile number, which seems like it’s been done on purpose, I’ve asked the TUI team on the app a number of times to correct this and they still haven’t. An hour until we leave, and the receptionist recommended using the ‘spa’ shower, advising us to book it quickly as they get booked up. We went down to use them, and my 9-year-old daughter and I went to the ladies’ room. Next thing, there was a crash, and the shower door came off, hitting my daughter. She slipped and fell onto the raised basin, where there was a rusty latch or screw that had broken off. She has severe bruising and is screaming. I ran to the receptionist, who said she had told the hotel and TUI staff that they were not safe repeatedly, but her advice had been ignored. This clearly indicates that despite being told that there’s clearly no care from either TUI or hotel management. The TUI manager and the deputy hotel manager came down to speak to us. I asked the hotel manager to fetch a doctor, and he got the doctor to check Scarlett’s ribs to make sure they weren’t broken. This hotel is dangerously unsafe. I’m horrified that there’s no accountability or ownership of the issues we raised. Multiple laws are being broken, and it ended with my child sustaining a serious injury. I have photos of every point I’ve made above, including the injury she sustained.

Beautiful beach. Crystal clear waters. Small fish swimming around you and near to no rocks on the left hand side of the beach. One of the best beaches in Lanzarote.
Amber F — Google review
We really enjoyed this beach - there were shops near and the beach was nice also! Perfect with kids but even without!
Huszár B — Google review
Very nice beach with calm water. Only thing is there's no sun loungers or umbrellas for rent. We spend there several hours on one day as it was cloudy but other days, Playa Dorada was our favourite.

Caletón Blanco, located north of Lanzarote in Puerto del Carmen, is a collection of charming small coves with striking white sands and dark volcanic rocks. Families can enjoy the shallow natural rock pools while parents relax on the soft sands or by the volcanic rocks. The area also offers traditional Canarian cuisine at various restaurants around the harbor.
What's not to like!we went there on a non windy day and had a wonderful swim we always come to visit here
Dilly H — Google review
Extremely crowded place. And because of this, water is dirty and muddy with sea weed and trash. There are so many better beaches in the island, I wouldn’t recommend this one
Anastasiia M — Google review
Beautiful beach. Can be quite crowded and loud tho. Water is very shallow (it’s quite a walk to the deeper water). Recommend coming in the morning cause water moves with the tide (it’s less in the afternoon)
Asia K — Google review
Really enjoyed this hidden gem of Lanzarote. Plenty of free parking if you're visiting via car. Clear shallow water so ideal for snorkelling and paddling with also plenty of room to go for a swim in the deeper sections. Great for families.
James P — Google review
One of the most beautiful beach :) The water is totally clean 🏖️🌊 recommend for children too.
Rita P — Google review
This was definitely the nicest beach we visited. Loved the windbreakers giving you personal space too. Water is lovely and clear and shallow for a good distance. Not too busy and plenty of parking.
Stephen M — Google review
Absolutely stunning. The colours of the sand and water are incredible. Because od limited parking space it’s not so crowded
Magdalena O — Google review
This beach is like a series of small lagoons. Parking is very close to the beach, 30 seconds walk, the beach has the semi circle walled vine growing buildings which are perfect to set up a beach camp with. The water here is very warm as the tide goes out. Good snorkelling around the rocks

Famara, located in Teguise, Lanzarote, is a must-visit for sports enthusiasts. The beach boasts a long stretch of white sand and is famous for its strong winds and large waves, making it a magnet for surfers, kite surfers, and windsurfers. Even if you're not into these sports, the beach offers tranquil rock pools for bathing. Situated within the La Graciosa Marine Reserve, Famara also provides scenic views.
Absolutely gorgeous beach ! Definitely one of the prettiest I’ve ever visited ! It was December so too cold to swim, but a good surf place thanks to the wind! Nice sunsets, you can’t see the end but the colors are beautiful.

A dream beach for a long walk, for surfing, for admiring beautiful mountains in the colors of the sun, for stopping and enjoying the moment, the beauty of the world, nature and life... which is so fragile. Huge waves create an amazing setting. Definitely a place to return.
Lukasz T — Google review
Surfers and fisherman could be happy in this small village, still some streets without pavement. Also some restaurants where to have something. If you are a lover of good views, this is also a place you will enjoy, the sea and the mountains make a remarkable picture.
Manuel — Google review
Great beach with a relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of restaurants in the village. The beach is large and windy, and not really suitable for swimmers. Spectacular views of La Graciosa and the mountains.

Playa de Famara, located on the northwest coast of Lanzarote, is one of the island’s most iconic and breathtaking beaches. Stretching over 6 kilometers, it is renowned for its golden sands, wild natural beauty, and the dramatic backdrop of the Risco de Famara cliffs. Why Visit Playa de Famara? 1. Spectacular Scenery: • The expansive beach is framed by towering cliffs and the vast Atlantic Ocean, creating an awe-inspiring, untamed atmosphere. • At low tide, the wet sand reflects the sky and cliffs, offering stunning photographic opportunities. 2. Surfing Paradise: • Playa de Famara is a top destination for surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing, thanks to its consistent waves and winds. • It’s ideal for surfers of all skill levels, with many surf schools in the nearby Caleta de Famara village offering lessons and rentals. 3. Nature and Wildlife: • The beach is part of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, a protected area that preserves its unique ecosystem. • Visitors might spot seabirds, fish in tidal pools, and unique coastal vegetation. 5. Nearby Caleta de Famara: • This charming fishing village provides a cozy base for exploring the beach, with small restaurants, bars, and surf shops. • Enjoy fresh seafood and traditional Canarian dishes in a relaxed setting. Practical Information 1. Location: • Playa de Famara is about 25-30 minutes by car from Arrecife and Costa Teguise. 2. Swimmers should exercise caution. • There are no lifeguards, so safety precautions are essential. 3. Facilities: • Playa de Famara is a natural beach with no sunbeds, umbrellas, or beach bars. Visitors should bring their own supplies. • Parking is available near the beach and in Caleta de Famara. 4. Best Time to Visit: • Mornings and evenings are ideal for quiet walks, while the midday brings a more active surfing crowd. • The sunsets here are particularly stunning, with golden light illuminating the cliffs and beach. Tips for Visitors • Sun Protection: Bring sunscreen, hats, and plenty of water, as there is no shade. • Footwear: Wear sturdy sandals or shoes if exploring the dunes or cliffs. • Respect Nature: As part of a protected area, ensure you leave no litter behind. • Enjoy the Wind: Embrace the breezy conditions, which are part of Famara’s unique charm. Playa de Famara is a must-visit for nature lovers, surfers, and anyone looking to experience Lanzarote’s raw and rugged beauty. Its unspoiled landscapes and serene vibe make it a true gem of the Canary Islands.

Great for surfing or just relaxing, as long as you find a space to hide from wind. If you are looking for nice, sandy beach, no rocks, just sun and chill, need to find a different place, as this is more natural, surfer oriented.
Peter P — Google review
It's the best beach for beginners and intermediate surfers in Lanzarote. Always check weather forecast before going and don't dare the currents. Lifeguards have only one station to cover more than 3km wild beach, please be careful 🙏🌊

Playa de la Cantería is a popular destination in Lanzarote, especially for surfers seeking the perfect wave. The beach offers a stunning natural landscape with dark rocks and pale yellow sand, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Surrounded by steep cliffs, it provides a sense of being at the edge of the world. Surfing enthusiasts can enjoy spots like Caleta del Mero, Las Bajas, and Playa de Canteria with favorable winds from the north.
Playa de la Cantería is a small, secluded beach located on the northern coast of Lanzarote, near the village of Órzola. It is often considered a hidden gem due to its relatively low profile compared to other beaches on the island. This beach offers a more tranquil and natural setting, with its volcanic sand and rocky surroundings. The beach is not easily accessible, as it requires a bit of a walk down a steep path, but this helps it maintain its peaceful atmosphere. The waters are generally calm, making it suitable for swimming, though caution should always be taken due to occasional strong currents. The area around Playa de la Cantería is surrounded by rugged landscapes and volcanic cliffs, creating a striking and dramatic environment. It is an ideal spot for visitors looking to escape the more tourist-heavy beaches and enjoy the natural beauty of Lanzarote. While the beach itself may not have many facilities, its charm lies in its unspoiled, serene nature.
Matúš K — Google review
Beautiful beach, pet friendly. Only few people and surfers. Marked as danger. We just got our feet wet.
Jana H — Google review
Beautiful, wide, sandy beach. Arrive early to nab a corralito, -the high tide and big waves might cover most of the sand. Spectacular cliffs to the lh side, which offer good chances of seeing paragliders jumping off the beach. Be cautious, in big waves there are some strong undercurrents, not for little ones or weak swimmers. We loved it here. Can you spot the paraglider in our photo..? 😎
Chris F — Google review
a beautiful soft sand beach, great for surfing, with stunning views of La Graciosa. there's a parking lot nearby, but it gets crowded. the nearby town of Órzola has a supermarket for any essentials.

beatiful beach, but its forbidden to swim. nonifnrqstructure and bad road. you can go above the rocks on the left to get to another beach. he careful here - dont be here too lonv and check tides, becuase you can get stuck when there is tide! there is almost no people. no shade you can hide in on sunny days. one of the best if not the best beach in lanzarote.

CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: There is a rusty and neglected "Swimming Prohibited - Dangerous Beach" sign posted as you turn onto the dirt road leading to the beach. I strongly suggest you heed the warning. Just today a swimmer tragically drowned here just 20 meters out. The beautiful beach is framed by tall cliffs on one side and black rocks on the other. Check the tide before coming. Waves can get big and there are strong undercurrents that can easily drag you out to sea. At high tide, the swell is strong enough to sweep right up to the rocky slope, leaving nothing dry.

Ww drove 30 minutes from costa Teguise because this beach seems highly recommended but its not worth it!! Taxi cost €50 and dropped us a 30 minute walk from the beach. By the time we got there we found most of the beach covered in water and the conditions were far too dangerous even locals were leaving. The area also speak minimal English which is fine but something to be aware of as a tourist. We had to leave immediately, just go to whatever ur local beach is as they all seem similar on the island

Probably the most beutiful beach in Lanzarote. Breahtaking views, you can take really great photos there. Finest sand. Not the best place for sunbathing, because of the wind.

Playa Chica is a relaxed sandy beach known for its family-friendly atmosphere, offering chair rentals and convenient access to toilets and shops. Situated at the foot of an old fishing village, it is also referred to as Playa de La Barilla. The beach spans 90 meters in length and 20 meters in width, with protection from natural dams formed by volcanic flows. Popular among divers, it features nearby diving clubs and a bar with a large bay window overlooking the beach.
Small but nice beach ! Recommend to do snorkeling or scuba diving there because of the clear waters. Not too crowded in December. Free public bathrooms. Plenty of stores and places to get food around!
Everythingelleknows — Google review
While staying close by we absolutely loved playa Chica. First of all on our second day we went down to the restaurant on the pier and sat there for hours enjoying a sangria and jumping off the pier with the kids, the water is crystal clear and not even cold. Two of the other days we went snorkeling on the beach next to it, a small little cube again with crystal clear water and plenty of fish to see swimming around you, my two children and wife absolutely loved this and was one of our holiday highlights. I'd advise to bring a snorkel and if possible go during the week as the pier can become pretty crowded on the weekends especially Sunday with locals, which is expected. If In the area I'd make sure this is on your to do list or maybe get a taxi as taxis are inexpensive.

Great beach for snorkelling. You can either bring your own stuff or you can hire a mask for €5 from the booth on the beach. Saw lots and lots of fish and the water is quite calm. Highly recommended.

Lovely little beach, couple of coffee shops there too. We went snorkeling it was €5 to hire a snorkeling set for the day and there are boxes in the dive centre to keep your belongings in safely if you wish to do so. The water is lovely and great place to swim with fish. You also have your water sports there like jet ski, para salaing and so on.

A superb beach that is great for everyone. It has toilets nearby, cafes at either end at reasonable prices and is easy to access. It's great for scuba diving as it slopes gently away to make it easy for novice divers discover scuba on the beach side and boat access on the other side by steps. There is a jet ski and parascending to one side if you fancy a bit of something different to do whilst visiting.

Lovely little free public sandy beach, great location, easily approchable. Great for snorkeling, as well as there are rocks in the water. It also has a free public toilet nearby and showers. There is parking nearby as well, but it does tend to fill up quite quickly. The area is popular for divers as well.

Crystal clear water, lots of colorful fish. Great place for snorkeling with kids, no waves. Water was a bit cold. You can pay for sunbeds and umbrella if needed. Small but beautiful beach.

Great little gem of a beach, perfect for snorkeling/scuba diving, there is hundreds of fish here. Clear blue waters. Few sunbeds and umbrellas, toilets near by and not far away to get some refreshments.

It’s a beautiful beach with volcanic rock formations that create a natural environment suitable for sun-bathing. Clean water, white sand. You may sea fish and other sea creatures on the rocks. The only downside is there is no public toilet apart from in the restaurant nearby. Unless I missed something however that’s unlikely. So one star less.

Nice small sandy beach where you can find a lot of nudists. Through the small hill you are able to get to Playa Memos. Stunning, long, pristine sandy beach. Fairly sheltered from the strongest winds by a rocky facade on the left, more open on the right. Quiet when we arrived (early June) with mainly nudists along the entire stretch. No facilities on the beach, but a walk back to the car park finds a busy bar for refreshments.
Darren S — Google review
Beautiful and spacious beach with clean, clear water and great waves. Despite its size, it’s usually not crowded, though you may come acrosssome visitors who sunbathe nude. Perfect place to relax, watch the waves, and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.
Michal Š — Google review
Not to be confused with Playa Memos next bay along.Like I did. Just keep to the right of the camping compound and park on the side away from the entrance. This place is just perfect. Almost 80% naturist. Plenty of space. Lovely soft sand, gently sloping beach into the sea. Not too many rocks in places. It’s popular with some small boats but I think they came here for the same reason we did. It’s a great place to explore walking over the headland with interesting coves all the way round to Papagayo.(Which was packed with textiles today) we spent a lovely day in the sun cooling off in the refreshing sea. We are going back tomorrow hope it’s still the same mix of people. Remember to bring your own food and drink there are no facilities here but that’s what you expect. You could always pop your clothes on and go to Papagayo where they do have a very busy restaurant and a large car park. We prefer our sandwiches and a bottle of frozen water in a shiny old crisp bag. If you are a naturist you will love this place. If not please go to Papagayo. Returned for another visit. Saturday this time and if anything the naturist % was higher. One point I discovered is that at low tide it can be slightly more difficult to get into the sea because of the rocks but as the tide rises it gets easier. Also there is a slightly better sandy patch 2/3 of the way down the beach in front of the post with the life belt on it.
Robert B — Google review
The guides will tell you “there are no gay beaches on Lanzarote” but this beach has a mix of gay and straight, naturist and clothed. It’s rocky at both ends and sandy in the middle. Road in is gravelled and a bit rough in places but it’s not difficult, we had a VW Polo hire car and it managed it. Definitely worth the effort

4 because of the bad road. But if you can put up with that, it's brilliant and would definitely be a 5. It's pretty much completely naturist, which is great IMO. It's a lovely beach. It's fairly easy to access to from the "Parking Playa del Papagayo".

Huge open beach, unfortunately we visited it during La calima and as it’s so open there was nowhere to hide from the incoming sand of the Sahara.

A really quiet stretch of beach that is a delight. Easy to access and plenty of space to relax and unwind. We stayed at the Riu Paraiso and just walked out of the gates , over the road and were there. You'll eventually find a bar or cafe or somewhere to drink and eat, as well as a few shops to look around and chill. The view at night accross the bay is so nice, well worth a walk.

Wide beach that’s quite windy but very quiet if you like that. Two beds and a parasol is €10,50 with cash only but you get that for the whole day until 5pm. The water is beautiful but a bit rocky and not completely clear with some seaweed and etc but that can’t be helped. Probably some nicer beaches on the island but it was nice to just lie in the sun on a quiet beach.

Two beds and parasol 10.5 Euros, little bit windy when we were here end of June. You can only stay until 5PM which i find quite short if you go on afternoon swimm. Also you can place your own towel anywhere and not pay, stay as long as you like

Beautiful, clean beach with wonderful sand. Easy to get in and out of water, lots of services nearby. Shame the beach showers aren't working (out of season?) and there are a few annoying towel sellers etc etc around...
Philip — Google review
I hate to leave a review on what is specifically a beach, and a really nice beach at that. However the whole beach front area and restaurants are very tired and over "british-fied" if that makes sense. Think like a run down blackpool, where each restaurant could do with a lick of paint. Quite a few vacant buildings as well. It's sad and I'm sure 10-15 years ago this would have been a much nicer area to walk around. Also, big big problem for me, the lack of public toilets! Walked for ages without seeing one!

Delicious place. Sandy beach with a volcano in the background. Water is very calm so, you can swim with children. Negative part is that there are any tree, so from 12:00 to 15:00 the sun is just too strong, make it not very enjoyable.

A fantastic spot for wave enthusiasts! The sandy beach and crystal-clear waters make for a stunning setting. I've visited twice in April, and both times, the waves were perfect. As others have mentioned, there’s a €3 fee to drive in, but there’s plenty of parking conveniently located near the beach.

Nice experience + snorkeling We paid 3 Euro at the gate, few km from the beaches. The road was bumpy, felt like I was in Dakar race. There's several beaches nearby but we decided to stay at this beach. The waves are really small so its perfect for swimming and snorkeling. My friend did the snorkeling and he saw many interesting fishes. There's small cafe on the hill, not sure if they have toilets. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Some good books or friends.

Lovely quiet beach. Small dirt track to get there. Ample parking. Good little stone wind breakers. Lots of volcanic rock pools. Care required. A lot winder than the South, so rougher tides. Sand around the rocks has a little water vortex so it can easily wash out under you and you can sink in. Pretty much quicksand. Wouldnt recommend swimming in the sea if you are not a confident swimmer but you can certainly dip your feet in or have a nice walk along the beach.

**Beautiful views and striking black sand.** The waves are strong, and the shore is quite rocky, making it less ideal for swimming. Families might enjoy exploring the rock pools, but the current can be noticeable due to the wave conditions.

Volcanic beach with black stones and rocks in the sea. It is not sand but it is beautiful nonetheless and the stones make for clear water. There is a quite a strong current though and waves so getting into the water is not exactly easy. We had a great time though.

Playa del Janubio is a stunning black sand beach located on the island of Lanzarote, part of Spain’s Canary Islands. This beach is famous for its dramatic volcanic landscape and proximity to the Salinas de Janubio, traditional salt pans where salt has been harvested for centuries. Here are a few highlights: Features: 1. Black Sand and Volcanic Beauty The beach is composed of black volcanic sand, a result of Lanzarote’s volcanic origins, creating a striking contrast with the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. 2. Wild and Untamed Vibes Playa del Janubio is not typically ideal for swimming due to strong currents and waves, but it is a perfect spot for photography, walking, or simply soaking in the raw beauty of nature. 3. Proximity to Salinas de Janubio The nearby salt pans are one of Lanzarote’s most iconic features, producing natural sea salt and offering a beautiful mosaic of colors, especially during sunset. 4. Peaceful Atmosphere It is less crowded than other beaches on the island, making it ideal for those seeking tranquility.

Beautiful beach, the water is clear, clean and, when we went, a very pleasant temperature. It was busy but there is plenty of space. There is no shade here so if you plan on staying for a while, take a robust parasol. It was quite busy in the parking area, with not much room to maneuver so be careful. The dirt track starts straight off the roundabout and yesterday the was a pot hole right where the road ended that was difficult to see so I would suggest dropping your speed exiting the roundabout. However the rest of the dirt track was flat and in good order. Be ready with your card to pay €3 entrance fee, although when we left at 6pm cars seemed to be entering freely. It is a great place to see the sunset so we are going back this evening.

Beautiful beach, I walked here from Playa Blanca and it was so worth it. The beach is full of locals, is great for swimming and is so relaxing. I didn't see any facilities here, so make sure you take plenty of food and water with you.

Staying in Sandos Papagayos hotel and took around 10 minutes to walk here. Need some good shoes due to the terrain but simple to get to. Lovely views and a nice beach. No facilities are here, so bring your own drinks and snacks and hopefully you have a good bladder to hold it in😂

Gorgeous beach, very large. We arrived at 10 am and there were like 3 other people at that time. it he afternoon still pretty much empty (easter holidays). Very windy when we visited with lots of waves. Naturalists friendly. It took us about 8 min on the bumpy dirt road from the normal road to get here, driving very slowly

Caleta del Mojón Blanco in Lanzarote is a semi-desert beach with stunning snow-white sand and dark volcanic rocks, creating a striking contrast. The area experiences intense winds and strong waves, making it ideal for surfing but not recommended for swimming, especially for inexperienced swimmers or children. Stone shelters have been built by locals to protect from the wind and sand. This off-the-beaten-track beach offers a peaceful atmosphere and is perfect for diving and enjoying the waves.
The Wildest Beach of Lanzarote, Mix of Lava, Stones and Strong Currents. I Recommend only to go if you like Adventures and Wild Nature.

Windy and wild beach, amazing vegetation, thin white sand, blue waters. However, people leave their trash behind and it is quite unpleasant. There should be some cleaning service and check on tourists. Inside beautiful round structures, against wind, you can find lots of people's hair and various types of trash.

Playa del Papagayo is a stunning crescent-shaped beach with clear waters that attract families for swimming and sunbathing. It is the epitome of Lanzarote beaches, featuring a shell-shaped strip of golden sand and transparent blue water. The area consists of a series of coves framed by volcanic rocks, offering protection from the wind.
Beautiful beach to go for sunset. You need to drive 20 min on an unpaved road to get there but it’s absolutely worth it. On arrival there are 2 beaches, the one on the left is more protected by the wind but the one on the right has longer sun.
Annely — Google review
A stunning sandy beach with breathtaking views and crystal-clear water. The serenity of the location adds to its charm. While the restaurants are on the pricier side, it's understandable given the secluded nature of the area and the presence of just two gastronomic spots.
Marek D — Google review
Really great place to dive or snorkel!! Fantastic flora and fauna underwater. Hidden caves and unique animals I've seen there. Was a great experience! On the beach no options for shade, so if you plan for a whole day there, definitely take a sunbrella or a pop up beach tent with you. Take a watershoes with you if your feet is sensible, as if there is low tide, it's stony there. Otherwise it's sandy and amazing. One restaurant is at the top of the hill side, next to the beach. Always busy and que there, so if you hate to wait, take food and drink with you. If you go buy car, you just have yo pay €3 for the parking there per day. We loved it!! We can just recommend it!!.
Pollak K — Google review
Beach is nice but small and even in March full of people. Two nearby restaurants are quite expensive, because there is no other competition here. It is worth to visit Playa Mujeres, which is large and even more beautiful.

Los Charcones is a stunning natural attraction located in the southwest part of Lanzarote, near Playa Blanca. These naturally formed pools offer a picturesque setting with views of the coast and an abandoned hotel nearby. Visitors can enjoy swimming and relaxing in these beautiful pools, but it's advisable to check the tide before planning a visit. The area is known for its unique beauty, but it can get quite busy at times.
Gorgeous natural pools with crystal clear water - definitely one of the highlights of the island! The place is easy to find. I would recommend to leave your car at the parking and walk about 25 minutes to the cliff. Then you will need good sneakers and relative dexterity to walk the rocky cliff for about 10 minutes. Definitely worth it it though! I would not recommend with children.
Nathalie A — Google review
We followed directions to the abandoned hotel on Google maps. The road is very bumpy so we had to leave our rental car and walk. We then discovered some cliffs with some pools at the bottom, near the sea. However it wasn’t safe to go anywhere near the pools due to the waves. We think it was high tide because i can’t imagine how anyone can go down to the pools and not get swept away. Overall was quite interesting to see the choppy sea and massive waves but wasn’t safe. One of the pictures is of the pools when we discovered them and the next is the waves which appeared just 10 seconds after the first pictures, quite scary really!
Hannah L — Google review
The worst decision of our trip. The place is hidden, and it’s almost impossible to get close by car without damaging it. After parking, you have to cross dangerous, wet volcanic rock. My girlfriend slipped and ended up covered in cuts from the sharp rocks. The tide can completely cover the path, making it truly dangerous. Other than that, nothing special: the “pool,” if you can even call it that, lives up to its name — it’s little more than a puddle, which is why the locals gave it that name "charcones". The pictures are heavily Photoshopped.
Luis L — Google review
It’s a beautiful place, but please watch out for the waves. I was there with low tide, but the ocean is still dangerous because of the waves. So, make sure if you are gonna swim in side of the pools, let watch someone else the waves and never swim there alone!
Sam Y — Google review
Well it is a walk and a trek down but it is a fantastic tidal pool with lovely warm crystal clear water. Do not come if you are not able to clamber over boulders
Chris R — Google review
It was a real struggle to find these pools because it’s not accurately marked on Google or clearly sign-posted from the road. When you turn off the main road and drive down the dirt road to the Water management plant on the right, here you must leave your car (unless you have a Land Rover that can handle the rocky path!) and walk left on the rocky road along the coast. We followed the road for several KMs, stopping every now and then to look over the cliff to check for pools. After about 30 mins we found some stunning pools but they were almost impossible to reach by climbing down. We finally found one that we could access by climbing down the rocks but it’s not easy and not very safe. The pools themselves are gorgeous and a pleasure to swim in but it takes a whole lot of effort to get there so I wouldn’t recommend going unless you’re up for a real adventure!
Madelyn L — Google review
Great looking natural pools by the sea. 4x4 recommend if you want to get there by car, otherwise it's better to park further north and walk for 30 minutes.
Iñaki A — Google review
Beautiful spot but really quite busy when we visited which was a little unexpected. Lots of sea urchins so beware. The abandoned hotel was really cool as well. Great if you're into urbex. Access is fine, the first bit of track is the worst but no need at all for 4WD,. Risk of punctures if anything. We opted to walk in over the desert just for the experience. Full on Canarian sun but very strong breeze so you don't feel yourself burning. Sunscreen recommended.

Risco Beach, also known as Playa del Risco, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It offers a secluded and paradisiacal setting with strong waves and stunning views of La Graciosa island. Accessible by a steep hiking trail, Camino de las Gracioseras, this beach is not heavily visited due to its challenging access, making it even more appealing for adventurers seeking a day at the beach.
This beach is amazing! Just because it is the hardest to get to, it was super empty. The hike down took ~30min, up the cliff took ~45mins with some short breaks. It’s a very steep but easy to follow path. It was too windy to actually swim, but just being there was amazing.
Sebastian R — Google review
50 mins to go up (we timed it).Totally worth it. Water is super clear and refreshing after the hike. Don’t be lazy and go!💪🔥
Alejandro F — Google review
One of the best hikes in Lanzarote heading to one of its best beaches. I would recommend this hike to everyone with a good fit of any age. Kids can also go with their parents. Wearing good shoes is important on the way down because the path is slippery due to the presence of little rounded stones along the whole descent. For sure coming up is easier and you can manage the one way path in less than one hour if you want to stop to take some wonderful pics. The beach down is named Playa del Risco. It Is Amazing and it is possible to swim there even during the windy days. Almost desert all the times, everyone will enjoy this fantastic natural spot. The parking at the top is good. It is advisable not to leave any valuables in the car but I did not experience any issues like all the cars which were parked there. The path is well indicated but on the way back do not go further to the right because the path is intersecting with another one heading toward the Famara valley which is anyway another good hiking opportunity. I posted a pic showing the intersection with two walkers on the right path. Hope this helps.
Mariano C — Google review
About an hour to get down to the beach and 45 minutes of climbing to ascend afterwards. Don’t trust the other reviews that say it takes 30 minutes, unless you are an incredibly shredded Spanish man. Take your time coming down as some parts can be a little sketchy but it’s definitely still very doable. I personally was scared at the start but it’s completely fine. It was faster for us to come up! Beach itself was lovely, definitely the best in Lanzarote by far. We came back here again
Deborah — Google review
Beautiful secluded beach. Well worth the hike. In summer take a hat and lots of water and sunscreen. 45 minute hike down. Longer back up due to the slope. There are several zocos on the beach where you can set up camp and get a break from the wind. Good hiking shoes are essential as the slope down has lots of loose sharp rocks. Hiking stick or pole would be good also.
Ryan B — Google review
To be honest this was the best white beach on the entire island, for me personally! It takes a hike to get down here from the Camino de los Gracioseros but it couldn’t be more worth it!!!! It’s a 500m beach and there were less than 10 people in total!!! Cristal clean, cleanest water. Fine sand, little waves. 100% wilderness and the beautify of the mountain in the background. I have no words!!! Just wowwwwww!!!!!
Ole — Google review
Luckily, the inaccessibility of this beach has kept it quite unspoilt. I found the cliff descent faster, but also less comfortable than the climb back, as one can slide down on the piles of pebbles. A hiking stick or a donkey would be useful. Worth the effort, but please don’t tell everyone how nice it is. Take food and much water! In places the current would often be too strong for swimming.
William C — Google review
It is unreal how beautiful this beach is!! The path down is a bit slippery, make sure to have sport shoes and a jacket, it is pretty windy. It takes from 45m-1hour depending how fast you go. My advice is to go early morning just to have a full day in this paradise with wild vibes, crystal clear water, the sandy hills- a chance to feel alone on a lost island😍😍

Nestled within the Timanfaya National Park, Playa de Montaña Bermeja offers a remote and unique beach experience with its black ash sand and the prominent Volcan Bermeja in the backdrop. The beach is characterized by stunning volcanic landscapes and a green lake at its rear. Visitors can explore beautiful caves, rock formations, and Olivin stones while enjoying breathtaking sunsets over the Atlantic.
This is not an ordinary beach surrounded by palm trees and velvety sand, but something created by volcanic processes. Landscapes of jagged lava and craters on the horizon, black sand and not small waves. The beach is not for water fun, but for a walk, a short break by the water and a stop during a longer hike along the amazing coast.

Amazing black sand beach, with loads of olivine to be found in the sand and the rocks ! Don't take any with you though, it's illegal and contributes to destroying the environment. Also I would discourage any swimming, the rocks are sharp and the waves large.

It is a beautiful place. Black sandy beach. This beach's distinctive feature, also lending its name, is the striking Montaña Bermeja. Dark sands but lovely and peaceful, compared to others with the added bonus of not being windy so you can enjoy it more. Bring your snorkeling gear as there's loads of fish in the shallow water.

I spend one week on the Playa Bastian beach 🏝 in December 2019. It’s calm, definitely not crowded. Mostly English and German seniors and families with children. The access to the sea has quite lot of stones but there is also some sand. Under water life is interesting, so snorkelling is fun. There is toilet and showers outside. Strongly recommended but weather is definitely more warm and sunny in Puerto del Carmen. Lot of good bars around and prices are definitely cheaper than in bigger cities. Not far around Spar shop. Graciosa is a small volcanic island with unpaved roads, secluded sandy beaches, and isolated mountains. In 2018, it was declared the eighth official Canary Island. Accessible by a half-hour ferry from Lanzarote, this UNESCO World Heritage site offers uncrowded beaches, modest guesthouses, and restaurants. The island's dirt roads are only navigable by foot, bike, or occasional four-wheel drive.
A magical little place. It doesn’t feel European. Lots of lovely little bars and restaurants and a regular ferry service. The town beach is great.

Exploring La Graciosa on a e-bike is a fun thing to do. There are quite some bike shops, but don't come too late. Vast beaches, wide views, a small village is what you get. Swimming will not always be possible, and biking in the southern part of the island is not allowed.

Second part of our day trip What a wonderful place Very basic, 2 super markets, post office and police station. Approx 5 restaurants Ferry there for Orzola a 24 min trip. Looks like there was plenty of sailings. Our trip included lunch which was on one of the moored ferry boats. We had approx 2hrs on the island, lunch was in that time. We also visited the church for a little history lesson. Having walked round the town, I found accommodation that could be rented, unsure of the cost. Maybe a couple of days would be great, chilled time Ferry back was ok, a little choppy but didn't scare anyone with amazing views of the rocks Is it worth the trip, definitely See pics

Graciosa is an island of unique beauty and landscape. It definitely worths a day or two even if you want to explore everything in slow rhythm. We did one day trip to the island and we managed to visit the Playa de las Conchas, the arc and also some other beaches. The access to the island is possible through two different companies and the ticket is 28 eur for both ways. Do not miss the island. Small tip for those who rent bike: if they say to you do not go to the arc with bike rental, do not hear. The area is majestic.

Mirador del Río is a popular viewpoint in the north of Lanzarote, designed by the renowned artist Cesar Manrique. This architectural marvel integrates into the rock and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lanzarote and the nearby island La Graciosa. The site features a cafe with large windows, a souvenir shop, and a viewing platform. Visitors can also enjoy stunning vistas of the dark cliffs descending towards the ocean.
Great viewpoint. Price seems expensive at E8.50 per person but that does include car parking. There's 2 different levels for the viewpoint so make sure you go upstairs from the cafe as you can easily miss that part looking over the bay. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced so it's definitely worth having a coffee with such a great vantage point
Andrew J — Google review
Drove to this viewpoint in a rental car and let's just say I was glad it wasn't my own car! The access road is a tad on the ropey side and is more designed for a 4 x 4. Reaching the parking area (assuming there is only the one that we went to), you then need to make a steep climb up a loose rock path to get the best views and I'd recommend wearing walking shoes/boots if you don't want to be sliding/slipping. On a clear day you can get some spectacular pictures though.
Fraser B — Google review
Outstanding views, not for the faint of heart! If you are scared of heights, I would avoid going right up to the barrier! I didn't try the food inside, but it looked good! The cafe area inside was gorgeous but not a huge amount to choose from food wise! The drive was easy and there were plenty of parking.
Andrew P — Google review
Well out of the way and requires car hire or an organised trip to get here. The views were breathtaking, more so due to height of the cliff on which Mirador del Rio sits. Free parking and 8 Euros per adult to get it was reasonable. The restaurant is lovely and sits perched in the cliff edge behind a huge glass window. Food was good and reasonably priced. Definitely one to see during your time in Lanzarote
Paul C — Google review
The scenic viewpoint offers an impressive panorama of the island and the surrounding waters. From its elevated position, visitors can appreciate the breathtaking views that stretch far into the distance. A lovely cafe is available, providing a convenient spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. While the experience is memorable, the price 8.50 euro to get in . Refreshments is slightly higher than expected. Overall, it is a worthwhile destination for those seeking stunning vistas.

Absolutely amazing views from this spot. It was by far our favorite CACT/César Manrique sights of the whole island. From up here you have the best views of Famara cliffs and La Graciosa island, in a place that’s perfectly merged with the surroundings. The café here is quite cozy and was not even as half crowded as the other sights we visited in the same day. 100% recommended!
Raúl M — Google review
€8.50 each is a bit steep before you even get through the door and pay for food and drinks. Building is really nice, but for €8.50 per person you'd think they'd clean the windows a bit more. It was very busy and windy when we went, so they had the roof view point shut, which was disappointing as there were no signs to tell you this. Just a long queue of people to the roof coming down. The other fire point was open which was great. An awesome place to see. The food was pretty good as well, all be it a little basic for a ham / cheese baguette sandwich. There's a bit of a free for all fight for the tables with the best view, and then when you do get a nice view, any gormless person who comes in immediately walks across the whole cafe to stand Infront of your table and take pictures out the window. Honestly, some people. The singular man waiting tables was really kind and helpful, definitely needed an extra member of staff to help with how busy it was. I wanted to come back and buy some things from the gift shop, but I wouldn't want to pay €8.50 just to get to the shop!! If you're here JUST for the view, there's tons of locations near here for free and you'll get the same view!

This was our local beach staying in Sandos Papagayo hotel next to it. Great for late afternoon and early evening swims. Some decent snorkeling up the eastern arm of the bay but be careful of the swell/rocks. We also swam and snorkelled the beaches east of here including Mujeres and Papagayo and these are prettier but Colorades is still a lovely beach and good for swimming

There no beach here as shown Maps Rock ledges that are covered at high tide. Numerous Memoriams at cliff where people have slipped on volcanic stones and fell.

Rocky and stone beach with very little sand. Car parking close by and quite well sheltered but would be disappointing for a family with young kids. Some cafes and shops near by and the promenade that starts here goes the whole way to the light house sone 10km away. Also one determined resident has stayed put when the hotels were being built-

This is our local beach as we’re staying at the Sandos Papagayo. We’ve stayed here before and didn’t use the beach as it was rocky and not very inviting. It must have been cleared because it’s now a very pleasant beach and good for families. It’s great to wander down to for a swim and is well used.

Not a bad little beach but very rocky and lots of pebbles. Also a very fishy smell in some places.

Playa del Pozo is an isolated sandy beach surrounded by low hills, offering a serene atmosphere for swimming and sunbathing. The area features remarkable volcanic formations, creating a transcendent landscape reminiscent of another planet. Visitors can watch boats anchor in the cove and snorkel in transparent waters while enjoying the quiet lazing and reading in the sun on the light golden sand against the backdrop of volcanic rock cliffs.
The best beach on Lanzarote that you can easily access. There is a path from the Playa Papagayo parking lot, or you can walk along the beach and over some rocky area to get to this beach. This is easier in the morning due to the tide. The end of Playa del Pozo has a nude area. It’s amazing and very freeing to go into the water all naked.
Sebastian R — Google review
Stunning and quiet (early June). Good to swim and explore the rock pools. More nudists than the beaches either side and no facilities...but it's nice to go without and get back to nature occasionally.
Darren S — Google review
The beach itself is beautiful, with clear water that’s great for swimming. However, the strong wind often blows sand everywhere, which makes it less comfortable to relax on the shore
Michal Š — Google review
Quite nice beach. Nice sand and beautiful water. Just few people in May Parking lot beside (300m) Some people naked on the beach.
Pascal M — Google review
Great beach but only accessible by boat or walking from carpark at the amenities within natural park or a good 30 minute walk from end of Papagayo Promenade. If walking be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Interesting history and spring wells close by for anyone interested in the history of the area.
David M — Google review
A short walk downhill from the main carpark brings you to this beautiful beach that has only a handful of people on it. Yes, it's true, some were naked, but did not flaunt it and no-one seemed bothered. If you want to try out getting your kit off for the first time, then this beach is perfect if you are a bit self conscious. I'm in my mid fifties and had never done so before. It was very liberating, and because there were so few people on this stretch of beach, made it much easier not to be too body conscious and after two visits, it was great!

This is a very beautiful beach at Papagayo. Although it’s not my favorite there, it is a very long stretch of sand where you can relax and enjoy the sea. There are 2 parkings in the back of the beach where you can easily park. Nice !

Fabulous beach! Quiet, plenty of space for everyone, people can stay at distance. Sea is suitable for swimming even on a very windy day. Sunbathing in total peace in serenity. So far my favorite beach in Lanzarote. People who come here are also the quieter type of tourist.

Caleton del Cobre is a hidden gem nestled along the stunning coastline of Lanzarote, offering an idyllic escape for those seeking tranquility. This charming cove can be reached by kayak during high tide or on foot from the nearby Playa Mujeres when the tide recedes. With its fine sandy shores and shallow waters, it’s perfect for sunbathing in peace, even attracting nudists looking to enjoy nature in solitude.
Lovely small beach cove at the far end of Playa Mujeres beach. Easy to access when the tide is out, but it gets isolated and very difficult to get out of when the tide is high needing to climb over wet slippery rocks.

4 stars as the road is hard and long. Great for naturists, especially at the eastern end (left as looking out to sea). Sheltered calm sea when the wind is from the north.

A short 10-minute walk from the previous beach will allow us to discover this beach, quite isolated with few people, sheltered from the waves and wind, the nudists are mostly on the left and right of the beach and the textile ones in the center. As there are rocks, you can go snorkeling. However, don't forget your umbrella, there are no shades on the beach. (Original) Une plage juste exceptionnelle. Small but beautiful beach. Negotiate the rocks carefully & it’s an ideal spot for snorkelling & swimming. There were so many fish on view, I felt like I was in an aquarium!!

A pleasant little beach. Made more exciting by the ferries coming and going creating quite a surf. The nearby shops and cafes are all very popular.
Paul M — Google review
Not much of a 'playa' at all. Almost impossible to access the water as the beach is made up of sharp rocks. The man-made, walled, sandy areas with deckchairs on the west side of the beach (still no sea access) are owned by the hotel behind and not accessible to the public. The only restaurant / bar doesn't open in the day. Stay on the promenade and keep walking to Playa Flamingo if you want a lovely beach with soft sand, a couple of open bars and restaurants and direct sea access.

Playa de los Ciclos, located in Lanzarote, is a must-visit destination for photographers. The beach is renowned for the stunning Green Lagoon, also known as Charco Verde, which stands out against the pitch-black sand. This natural wonder is created by the high algae content in the lagoon and offers a picturesque sight with its bright green hues contrasting against the clear blue sky and turquoise sea.
Remarkable place with a lake that has an usual color due to volcanic minerals and chemicals. Hence the reason why it cannot be accessed and swimming is not allowed.

Drove by as we were in the area, very pleased we did. The place had a huge free car park so was easy to locate. Also a lovely coffee shop with toilets close by. The area is stunning, the green lake, black volcanic beach, with the beautiful blue sea makes for some seriously great photos. Definitely recommend a visit.

Blue water and crashing ocean waves, a black beach and a still green lake with a partially remaining volcano in the background - all in the sunlight and blue sky. Timanfaya National Park is a captivating volcanic landscape in Lanzarote, offering regulated access for visitors to explore by camel, on foot, or via coach tours. The park boasts the only known geysers in Europe outside of Iceland and features an intriguing geothermal restaurant. It's a must-visit destination that will make you feel like you're exploring the moon with its eerie and breathtaking scenery.
Great experience. Camel ride cost less than €12 for about 20 minutes up and down the mountain. Kids really enjoyed it. Would recommend. Camels looked very well cared for. Tour guide was a very pleasant man.
Karen B — Google review
I had an unforgettable experience at Timanfaya National Park—it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The bus tour through the volcanic landscapes was both thrilling and a little bit scary, making it all the more exciting. Driving through the craggy lava fields, it felt like stepping into another world—black volcanic rock stretching as far as the eye can see, smoke gently rising from the earth, and the contrast of the bright blue sky above. As the day shifted and shadows grew, the landscape took on a mysterious, almost otherworldly beauty. After the tour, we planned to try the restaurant famous for cooking food using volcanic heat. Unfortunately, it was closed when we arrived. However, the staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us. They checked the kitchen and graciously prepared two plates of food just for us. I am especially grateful to the gentleman who made this wonderful experience possible. Everywhere you look in Timanfaya National Park, the scenery is breathtaking—the interplay of lava, sky, and sunlight makes you feel like you’ve been transported to another planet. The combination of thrilling tours, incredible natural beauty, and warm, helpful people makes visiting Timanfaya an experience you will never forget. If you have the chance, you absolutely should go—you’ll be amazed.

GeasersI recently visited Timanfaya National Park 🌋 and it was an amazing experience for everyone! Taking a bus tour around the volcano and vast volcanic fields gave me a real appreciation for the unique landscape. I was fascinated by the raw power of nature, which is on display everywhere in the park. It's a fantastic place for the whole family, with something to amaze all ages. I would highly recommend visiting this beautiful place. #TimanfayaNationalPark #VolcanoAdventure #FamilyTrip

We visited this national park as part of a tour. From what I understand, you can’t freely drive around the park in a private car—you need special approval, which is why most vehicles we saw on the tracks were tour buses. However, the main museum and restaurant can be reached by private car. The park itself is incredible, with spectacular views, and I highly recommend going with a tour guide who can share insights about the magma levels, volcanoes, and historic eruptions
Theodora M — Google review
Great experience, well organized, it was not dificult to buy the tickets in the entrance, just same time as if we had already tickets as there is a queue of cars for all in the entrance (at least in the day we were there). Tip: during the bus road sit in the opposite side of the driver, you will have the best view of the vulcanos.
Janaina F — Google review

I had a superb time visiting Timanfaya National Park – it’s truly a unique and unforgettable experience! The landscape feels like stepping onto another planet, with its dramatic volcanic scenery. The bus tour through the park was fantastic, offering amazing views and fascinating insights into the area’s history and geology. One of the highlights was enjoying food cooked using the natural heat from the volcano – such a special and memorable touch! The combination of breathtaking views, incredible natural history, and such a one-of-a-kind experience makes it well worth it.

Seaside Los Jameos Playa is an elegant and excellent-value beach resort located in the lively Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote. The resort features airy rooms and suites, a restaurant with nightly themed buffets, a spa with various facilities including Finnish sauna and Turkish bath, as well as outdoor pools surrounded by tropical gardens. Families will appreciate the kids club included in this upscale four-star resort. The island-like architecture creates a dreamy and relaxing atmosphere perfect for unwinding.
What can I say! I was well and truly looked after. The service was 10/10. My light was out on my balcony it was sorted straight away. Anything I asked for in addition to my stay, again was dealt with promptly. The staff...the friendliest I've ever experienced. It was my birthday and they all made a big deal :) The food plenty of choice and absolutely everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. There wasn't 1 thing that i didn't enjoy and i can be picky. The room was a lil dated but they are undergoing renovations over the next few months. Rooms cleaned daily. Location great. Beach, shops and bars not even a 2min walk. Overall I had an amazing stay and will definitely be returning especially as I promised the bar staff ;)
Dominique L — Google review
I’ve stayed at Seaside Los Jameos several times, and that alone shows how much I enjoy this hotel. It offers a combination of comfort, beautiful surroundings, and services that keep me coming back. Honestly – while the hotel deserves five stars, my repeated visits have also given me the chance to notice a few minor shortcomings that might go unnoticed on a first stay. Let’s start with the positives – and there are many. The food is excellent, the overall atmosphere is very pleasant, the beachfront location is ideal, and the gardens… simply stunning. Every return to this place makes me fall in love all over again. And maybe it’s precisely because I love this hotel that I feel encouraged to be a little more critical – with the intention of offering honest feedback. As of summer 2025, the hotel is undergoing renovations, so some of the points I mention may soon be outdated. I’m really looking forward to coming back and seeing the improvements. Minor downsides: The sauna is only accessible from age 15, which feels like an unnecessary restriction. It’s a minor issue, but one that families might appreciate being reconsidered. All-inclusive guests don’t receive wristbands. Carrying the card around in swimwear isn’t very convenient – a simple wristband would be much more practical. Afternoon snacks are quite limited – I’d appreciate the addition of fresh fruit or light vegetable salads to the selection. Service at the beach bars can be slow, with long queues and extended waiting times. There’s no self-service option for the afternoon snacks, which could help avoid the long wait at the bar. Outdoor table tennis is not ideal – only concrete tables are available, which don’t provide a proper bounce for the ball. In addition, the area is exposed to wind, which often disrupts play. A partially sheltered space with standard indoor tables would make the game far more enjoyable. That said, none of these issues significantly spoil the overall experience. If I could, I’d give the hotel 4.5 stars – for now, I’m giving it four. But I’m hopeful that after the renovations, I’ll gladly raise that to five.

Its a decent hotel. Its not a 5 star hotel. Its not 5 star service. I liked the location. I liked the buffet style set up with chefs manning different stations. Dinner was always great. Breakfast only ok. Omelette the best breakfast option. It lacks atmosphere/buzz.

We went here in 2023 and it was by far the best hotel we have been to, ever! at the time I had a couple of niggles but they were totally petty things compared to the overall holiday experience I've got to say the hotel and food was beautiful the service, excellent and the location is perfect, and I'm would return in a heartbeat. In lanzarote it's a lovely haven.

Terrible experience with your hotel!!! TUI just informed us that your hotel delayed opening, less than 36 hours before our arrival!!! I do not believe that you did not know about delays with opening one week ago, reassuring guests that you will open and welcome guests! Lack of commitment, service, and honesty from your side leads to stress and disappointment 36 hours before the holiday! Never again will I consider booking your hotel!
Oxana B — Google review
Just back from a wonderful ten days at Los Jameos Playa, so here's my honest review. Let's do the bad stuff first, although it really isn't that bad. There's a fair bit of building works going on but it's being done with consideration to guests, so unless you really look for it then its easily missed. The odd workman here and there and the odd knock of the hammer, but that's really about all. Probably the worst thing was the kitchen fan extraction system which was missing its baffles and sounded like a jet taking off at times. There are a couple of areas of the hotel still to open at the time of writing, including a children's area, additional bar and shops, but again, nothing that had any impact on our holiday in any way, shape or form. The pool bar is excellent, although we did encounter some queuing for service on several occasions. The drinks menu is large and detailed so if you get stuck behind someone ordering a couple of cocktails then be prepared to wait as everything is made to order. Appreciate that preserves the quality, but it comes at a price of time. A couple of suggestions are to put the hot drinks machine on the counter and let people help themselves, and to install a self-service carbonated drinks dispenser. That way people drinking non-alcoholic drinks won't be delayed. The array of food was astonishing and the quality excellent all round. We preferred the quieter piano bar in the evening for a few drinks and a game of cards. It was good to see the ladies making the effort to dress for the evening; however, gentlemen need to put a bit more effort in. Bermuda shorts, trainers and shirt buttons undone down to navel level is not the done thing. We even had one gentleman (And I'll use the phrase loosely) who wore his hat whilst seated. Etiquette lessons from William Hanson are required I think 😉. I jest of course, but it would be good to see men making a bit more of an effort. Last but absolutely not least, a mention for the staff. It's hard to pick out some names but thank you Carla and Nicole in the pool bar, and Yolande in the restaurant. I'd also like to express thank you for the service from the head waiter in the piano, but forgive me as I never took a note of his name. It was also wonderful to meet the hotel General Manager who was a frequent face around and thank you for taking ten minutes out of your busy day for a chat. I've always maintained that the best hotel managers are the ones who mix with customers and don't hide in a back office. So, will we be back ? Absolutely, just about to book up again for next year.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The apartment room we had was clean, plenty of space and separate rooms for the adults and the kids, the sofa beds were very sturdy and comfortable. Complex is right on the beach, amazing. All inclusive food was delicious, good variety for adults and children, always vegetable options, cold meats, salad selection as well as freshly cooked meats, pastas etc. Quite a few pools, main pool was always busy but didn’t feel overcrowded. Reception always friendly and helpful and TUI rep present at certain times to help with any queries. The hotel was amazing and staff always friendly and helped us out when we had a late flight departure allowing us to still use facilities up until we were due to leave. Our children are 7 years old and enjoyed the kids club and the pool entertainment. Would definitely recommend this hotel to families and single adults. My only complaint is the hotel rule no ‘reserving’ sun beds around the pool by placing towels on them when clearly not in use wasn’t enforced. This happened every day without fail, but luckily we always managed to find a sun bed in the afternoon once some people left. There is also a spa, we were given a free voucher for the sauna and hot tub upon arrival. Gym was decent but a little small. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if we visit Lanzarote again.

We had a great holiday here. The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. There were areas which could do with an update but it was a pleasant stay and the rooms were great. Location is great, right next to Playa Flamingo which is a brilliant sandy beach which is enclosed so there are very small waves and no current. Ideal for younger kids as families. Food was as expected - th pizza was the best bit as it was made fresh and was actually pretty good. The salads were good and there was a great selection. Pools were great, entertainment for kids was amazing. The kids entertainers were all incredible and always bought energy to each event. Overall we had a great stay and will come back again. We had our reservations beforehand but think it was one of the best holidays we have had with our son. I will say we went out of peak season so the hotel was less than half full which might have changed our experience compared to others :)

We've stayed here 2 years in a row for winter sun. This hotel represents excellent value for what it offers - the location, right on Flamingo beach, cannot be beaten. With small kids, it is very easy to pop up to the room to use the bathroom etc. The apartments are basic but have everything one would need to prepare a light breakfast or lunch (with a shop within a stones throw distance selling fresh bread and pastries in the morning from 9am). Air con worked perfectly. Lovely balconies or terraces looking out on to the sea and Fuerteventura with palm trees adding to the chill factor for those with young kids who take an in-room siesta during the day. There are ample pools, something for every age group (including a quieter pool for those traveling without children). Night entertainment was perfect level for our 2.5 year old (on first visit) and 3.5 year old (on second visit). Kids club, tho we only used it once, was excellent with highly trained staff. Baby room was excellent when our child was under 3. Lovely strip of restaurants on the doorstep and a short walk to town or to another strip of restaurants beyond the Hipotel. Cannot comment on food as we went self catering on both occasions. For the price we paid, we cannot fault it. Only cons are, this is a very family oriented hotel, I'm not sure how couples without kids would find the experience. Cleaning ran very late, sometimes until early afternoon (3pm), this didn't suit us as we always brought our toddler home for the heat of the day and, having been gone all morning, there was ample time for the room to be cleaned. That being said, it's a busy resort so they're doing the best they can.

My 5 stars go mainly to the spa. I had an amazingly relaxing massage with an expert, Gabriella from Argentina. She intuitively combined exactly the treatments that felt great and released my tense spots (hello jaw muscles!). I booked my session in the spa center itself instead of by the pool: it’s so much quieter and more peaceful there - and I can highly recommend it to all stressed-out parents: a wonderful little escape at a fair price. It was simply perfect💫. I also want to give a shout-out to the team: from room service to the restaurant staff, the entertainment crew, and the kids’ club — despite having so much work, every single staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. I’ve rarely met such a lovely team!

chaise lounges are good, the cost is 10,5 eir for two +umbrella and 7 eir for one +umbrella. The entrance to the water is quite steep. 7-10 meters and you are under water with your head, you need to watch children carefully when there are waves

Playa Grande is the crown jewel of Puerto del Carmen, boasting a stunning stretch of golden sands that extends over 1 kilometer. This vibrant beach is perfectly situated alongside the bustling entertainment strip, making it an ideal spot for sun-seekers and thrill-seekers alike. With ample amenities such as sunbed rentals, showers, and toilets, Playa Grande ensures a comfortable day by the sea.
Really nice and well maintained beach. We only went for a go on the pedalo’s which for us was €20 for the hour. From memory to get a sun bed it was €8 for one bed or €12 for two

Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen is a beautiful and expansive beach that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed during our visit in November 2024. The golden sands stretch for over a kilometer, providing ample space for sunbathing and leisurely walks along the shore. The calm, clear waters are perfect for swimming, making it an ideal spot for families and couples alike. One of the most delightful aspects of Playa Grande is the opportunity to feed the fish that come close to the shore. Tourists have accustomed the fish to being fed, so bringing along some bread can lead to a charming experience as the fish gather around you in the shallow waters. It's a simple yet magical interaction with nature that adds a unique touch to the beach visit. The beach is well-equipped with amenities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, and nearby restaurants and cafes along the Avenida de las Playas. This makes it convenient to spend the entire day there without needing to venture far for food or refreshments. The promenade is lively and offers a variety of dining options to suit different tastes. While Playa Grande can get quite busy, especially during peak tourist seasons, its size ensures that it doesn't feel overcrowded. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, allowing visitors to unwind and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surroundings. Overall, Playa Grande offers a delightful beach experience with its beautiful sands, inviting waters, and the added charm of feeding the fish. It's a place we would happily return to on future trips to Lanzarote

Playa de Caleta del Mero is a picturesque beach located near the village of Orzola in Lanzarote. It features white sand, dunes, and black pebbles, with a clothing-optional section popular among locals. The beach is easily accessible by public transport or car and offers crystal turquoise blue waters and contrasting black rocks, making it perfect for Instagram-worthy photos.
Amazing beach, the sand is super clear, and you can set up your stuff after picking a little wind hideout, that are scattered around the beach. Swimming is also super nice, because the rocks on the beach make the water super clear.. but be careful with pebbles caught on waves. They can hurt your feet.
Danel C — Google review
Fantastic place and end to the day. One of the beaches that have not been infected by mass tourism, where every moment is pure pleasure. White velvet sand and only waves and the setting sun. We left our hearts here and found one too... Lots of memories from Fuerteventura as we were also looking for such beaches there.
Lukasz T — Google review
Almost impossible to get into water over the slippery rocks and the sea is quite rough too. But nice for a beach hang with private stone circles. Very few people.
Kristina O — Google review
Golden sands. Clear blue skies. Blue sea. What more could you ask for? Parking on the other side of the road to the beach. Bit of a rocky walk down to the sand. Just be careful, if you fall it’s lava rock and will hurt. No facilities at all. Just peace and quiet.
Deb L — Google review
Most unusual beach. White sand contrasting the black lava rocks. I assume that the sand has arrived in various storms, etc? However, the beach does show a lot of the small plastics at the tide lines!

Barranco de los Conejos is a hidden gem located in the southeast of La Graciosa. Accessible by hiking or biking, this small beach offers golden sand and beautiful rock formations. The transparent waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, allowing visitors to see colorful fish. The beach is best visited during high tide to fully enjoy the swimming experience.
Cute small beach due to the contrast with the volcanic black rocks and the nice background. Better to visit with higher tide rather than low tide to enjoy the swiming. There's sort of 'balcony' on the right hand due to the rocks that I found very curious. Picture was not the best day though.
Dan R — Google review
From Caleta de Sebo to Pedro Barba following the hiking path of the coast you will find this hidden gem with golden sand and beautiful formations. It can also be reached by bike but you will need to leave the bike on the main road and hike to the beach. Worth a stop before continuing to Pedro Barba. From there you can either walk the path along the sea crossing the rocks or go up the hill and find the path, both leading to Pedro Barba. Choose the former if you have vertigo.

Beautiful and chill. The sandy beach and mild waves makes it attractive to enter the sea. I was here in the summer and it got quite busy for the relatively small beach; fortunately I was early and found a nice corner to have some privacy.

Playa del Paso is a small isolated beach located at the end of a path through the lava fields, making it an ideal spot for those seeking seclusion away from the main town. Accessible via a 30-40 minute hike from El Golfo, this black sand beach offers a quiet and windy atmosphere with soft sand. While swimming is not recommended due to strong waves and soft sand, visitors can enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the area.
If you are looking for a small isolated beach in the area then this is the perfect place. This was a great find for me and my partner who just wanted to go for a hike away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. From El Golfo you must take a 30-40 minute hike along the coast to get here. The terrain is very harsh due to the volcanic rock so make sure you have good footware; sandles will be very difficult to wear for this journey! It's easy to stray off the path as you get near the beech so best to have a phone with sat nav turned on. This happened to ourselves and it added an additional 30 minutes to the journey. Dont be perceived by what looks like tranquil waves on my picture 😅The beech is small but has some pretty strong waves. We enjoyed getting bashed about for 10 minutes which cooled us off from the warm weather. If you are swimming out from the beech then be sure to wear goggles as its not completely sandy and there are rocks that stick out in the middle. There were also some people fishers either side on the cliffs so I presume its good for this to. This was also my first time on a black train beach and I prefer it over sand any day. The grains are bigger and more noticeable then finer yellow grains so it's easy to spot and clear off your clothes and body. If you are up for the mini adventure then you should make time to go as it's well worth it! 5✳️

Daniella M — Google review
If u want a good hike that isnt too hard and have a reward at the end its very well worth it, the black sand beach and the cliffside while you are travelling is worth it!
Mark C — Google review
An truly amazing beach and the short hike from El Golfo is the best part of it. Unfortunately, it's not safe to go swimming here. You are within the national park and there are no facilities just nature.
Jan T — Google review
It's the best black beach in Lanzarote without any doubt. It's quiet, windy (but not too much) and it has black soft sand. Cons: 1. It takes around 40 minutes hike from a villa next to El Golfo. 2. You can't bath here because the waves are very strong and the sand is so soft that you subside a bit even when you walk.

Secluded and sheltered cove. Great rock formations at the base of the volcano which towers above the end of the cove.
Christopher B — Google review
Playa della Cocina is one of the most interesting spots in La Graciosa . It is reachable by walking on the sandy path from the port along the coast or by renting a jeep. I do not recommend to use a bike to come here because the path is so sandy that it Is impossible to ride a bike. The walking from the port takes about 30 minutes and it allows a nice stop at Playa Francesa. The ocean water was calm and shallow with a wonderful colour helped by the nice reflection of the volcano Montaña Amarilla. From the top of the beach I would recommend to continue the excursion around the volcano up to the summit with a spectacular view of La Graciosa and the island of Montaña Clara which is the part of the hiking I appreciated the most. While these are amazing spots on the Canary islands I have not given 5 stars because I found this beach and the entire island very touristic with lots of people visiting this place during a daily trip to La Graciosa. This was quite a surprise for me thinking that La Graciosa could be more authentic. So it is for sure worth a visit but I would not stay there longer and I would not choose to stay more days at La Graciosa. I think one or two days are more than enough. So unfortuntelly this is now more a place for tourists than for travellers.

Playa Lima Beach is located next to Lanzarote Airport, offering a unique experience of watching planes take off and land. While not ideal for sunbathing due to the lack of amenities like sunbeds and lifeguards, it provides a long stretch of sand and rocks with clear waters. Visitors are advised to bring their own drinks and snacks as it's about a 2km walk back to Matagorda beach for facilities. The beach also features toilet facilities nearby and easy parking.
For me, this is one of the best beaches I could visit. It is right next to the airport and has a walkway that runs right across the end of the runway and down the outer perimeter of the airfield to Playa Honda. An ideal spot if you like aircraft and I do. The beach itself is long and has a mixture of sand and rocks and is not very crowded. An ideal spot for my wife to do her sunbathing and a good place for fishing according to my son. There are also toilet facilities nearby and parking for cars. The aircraft are very low as they fly in over the sea, so you get to see them close up as they come in to land.
